Awful Ramen... inedible..

By Uli W |

Worst Ramen I have ever had .. So over salted!, it was inedible! It was simply awful and certainly not worth a penny. Not recommended at all

What a cool place!

By Goodtobegood |

We came here for a lunch and then for some drinks. This place is well worth a visit - lots of dining options available and a great vibe to it. Call in at Beer Here! And enjoy their fantastic array of beer options - Taw-Cre-Nee, is the most engaging, pleasant and friendly of bar tenders who will help you pick the right beer and make you feel most welcome.

Fascinating

Definitely worth a visit

An amazing building with top level eating. You can also buy all sorts of specialty foods from olive oils to special poultry and rare cheeses. It is the place for those who enjoy great and cooking.

Great spot with multiple restaurants and an amazing market

By Erin H |

My husband and I ate here the other night at the Frenchman's Dough. We have the Burrata to start and shared the Truffle pizza. Both were amazing! The next day, we came back for lunch at the French Restaurant. My husband had the hangar steak and I had the steak tartare. Both were great. Plus, this is a really great place to shop for cheese, meat, vegetables and multiple types of groceries.

Stunning venue with wonderful staff!

By Amy B |

I had gotten in touch with the tin building after a recommendation from a friend of how good it was. I was planning on proposing on the Brooklyn bridge and wanted somewhere to get out of the cold and celebrate and it seemed like the tin building would be perfect. I was in contact with Joseph Deriso, and my fiancée and I both agree he couldn’t have made the day any more perfect. Luckily she said yes! - quickly enough that we were at the tin building when only the cafe was open. Joseph greeted us with flowers, and let us and a photographer have use of the amazing spaces they have to crack a glass of champagne. He recommended the best locations in the building and views, and gave us space away from other customers to just enjoy some time together. We both felt so comfortable and looked after, everyone was so friendly and couldn’t have done more for us. The location is absolutely stunning and we can’t thank Joseph enough for truly making it one of the best days of our life.

Too bad

By LAFAMILLEG11231 |

Found cork in wine glass , ordered medium burger came rare, I guess a few kinks to work out especially for the price but service friendly

Plant-based food satisfying and delicious

By KCRidihalgh |

Tim Building houses an assortment of restaurants - like a very expensive food court. There are also fresh food options. I went to the 2nd floor that had more seating options. I ate at Seeds and Weeds- a 99% vegan restaurant. Everything I had was unbelievably delicious and the service was amazing. The servings were a little small for the price, but the uniqueness made it really special.

Foodie Heaven!!!

By CandiAnne |

This is a foodie's heaven!!!! With 10 restaurants and 13 markets there's no doubt you'll find what you seek. It's all about sustainability, farm-to-market, farm-to-table and helping make for a better world. I ate at Frenchman's Dough upstairs which is Italian with a twist and my meal was delectable and the service on point. Also ate downstairs at Double Yolk and the staff there was friendly and we joked around some. The Patisserie provided me some dessert and breakfast that went with me to my hotel. The items were baked to perfection and there was none of that Crisco on the roof of your mouth that you get from baked goods at a supermarket. (Yes, it's Crisco, I'm a baker). The confectionary has candy and chocolate from all over. The chocolate is amazing and I was able to partake in a few countries I haven't had before. If I lived in NYC I'd have to be within walking distance of this, LOL thankfully my hotel was

Don't Double Down on the Double Yoke

By Orlando P |

The Double Yoke has lost its consistency. When I first tried their Breakfast sandwich it was fantastic. However, my recent experience (July) was a huge let down. They have dropped down to a bodega level bacon egg & cheese. My apologies to my people in the bodega industry every once and a while you get a great one. Double Yolk broke the cardinal rule of an egg sandwich -- over cooking the eggs. My problem are two points. 1. A $28.00 tab for two bacon, egg & cheese sandwiches requires a greater effort. 2. This type of food poorly executed does not deserve to fly under the Jean Georges' banner who is by the way one of the greatest chef's in NYC.

What a great concept!!

By RB242 |

We went here for the first time and loved the variety of choices for a great brunch experience. The staff is super Professional, nice and helpful. And the food and wine selection was extremely good (especially the wine and charcuterie boards at the bar …). Very nice!

Double yolk double disappointing

By sjmbdm |

Had high hopes for a memorable interpretation by Jean-George of an egg mcmuffin but very disappointing. Egg quality was evident but smoked ham was nothing more than sliced deli ham and bacon wasn't much better. The "homemade" english muffin was tender but not buttered. They charge $1 for hot sauce which you don't know you need until you try the boring sandwich and then what? They should have branded bottles of hot sauce on the counter or at least provide it like they offer ketchup (hot sauce is the new ketchup?). If the manager was doing her job she would have asked me about my experience. Overall not worth the trip.

What a great culinary addition to the rebuild South Street Seaport

By Isabelle M |

We had lunch at La Brasserie and it was amazing. But the most impressive was the service, 5 stars. Shawn and Lawrence were awesome, very attentive and professional. A must try. We will be back :)

Very pleasantly surprised!

By Susan M |

Please don’t miss out on this great shopping/food hall/boutique grocer. We were slightly intimidated thinking that it would be well outside our tax bracket. I was very pleasantly surprised. Croissants $4.95 each, large Fiji water $3.95. We also picked up popcorn and chocolates at the candy shop and all were very reasonable. We will definitely be back to have breakfast or lunch. Great views of Brooklyn bridge and Pier 17 is just a few steps away.

Raspberry Croissant

By Stan Tecza |

I was nearby the Tin Building this morning so I grabbed one of those raspberry croissants that those silly viplist girls always pump up relentlessly with hype. It was just ok. I think they have daddy issues and that’s why they talk about it so much. They love the Daddy Jean George. The croissant was basically just like a jelly donut bu jelly inside of a croissant. Big Yawn. Rather go to Radio Bakery in Greenpoint to get delicious croissants. I’ll still leave 5 stars because I like the Tin Building. I went with my wife about a year ago and had a nice time drinking at several of the cocktail bars. It’s a cute place to visit and shop.

Great dining and shopping near Seaport

By agnes9971 |

Dining and food shopping all in one. Great selection of food items from Different parts of the world. Lovely restaurants and bakery and coffee station. I highly recommend the seafood restaurant on the main level. There is also a French cuisine, Italian , Asian and more. It’s out of the way in the Seaport area but well worth the trip.

COFFEE BAKERY ...LEAKED

By Patricia P |

If you’re looking for a place to be stripped for a simple double espresso served by unpleasant, uneducated and contemptuous staff, this cafe is the place to be!

A great bar and bartender in the Tin Building

By Louise D |

The building has so many beautiful restaurants, bars, and markets. In particular, The Bar on the second floor is great and a nice and cozy atmosphere. The bartender, Rye, was very attentive to the customers and really fantastic. Had a great time.

Incredible place, full of fab little eateries and markets.

Absolutely fab place, incredible eateries ! Thrilled to have spent our first morning in NY here, and on my birthday 😉🤗 it's a must visit when your in NY.

A DEFINITE MUST-VISIT PLACE IN MANHATTAN

By M Y |

During a recent visit to Manhattan, our daughter, who has resided in East Village for the past five years, took my wife and I for a browse at the Tin Building; located on Pier 17 in Lower Manhattan. The Tin Building includes a number of exquisite shops, restaurants, bars, cafes, in a market place setting. Since my wife and I are from London, our initial impression that it was somewhat like Harrods in London with prices to match. But even for the budget conscience individual; the Tin Building is a wonderful showcase to spend time gazing at the wonderful displays of meats, seafood and all sorts of other delicacies.

Great Choices In This Food Hall

By Zoom_Gotti |

New building at location of former Fulton Fish Market site. Trendy kiosks of mercantile type foods. Several eateries within, mostly on upper level. Patio seating for carry out foods. On East River pier.

Authentic European Café and restaurant

By Mimi |

The Tin building is beautiful outside and inside! Happily situated on Pier 17 with great view on Brooklyn Bridge. Reminds us of elegant European food markets! Finally a great place to get delicious, authentic meals! Definitely my favorite place now! We had a cafe Latte and cakes at the Café / Patisserie / Bakery but going back for lunch tomorrow, to this beautiful restaurant on the second floor. They also serve Japanese food, pizza. Highly recommend!

Nice stop on a busy day

By noworry |

Went here as we were in the area walking around and wanted a sit-down restaurant. The hostess was slow and just kept staring at her ipad or paperwork every time a new person came to her station, just plain odd. She did not offer bar seating (several seats available), when we asked, was like "ah, sure." The bartender was attentive and nice, the salmon was excellent even though not exactly mushroom crusted as advertised. Wish I could remember the brand of soda they had, it was yummy!

Amazing concept - some lovely produce but nowhere to sit

By MJH1 |

Really like the buildingS , warm welcome in the door and the various delis / counters and restaurants Trouble was, it was crammed, nowhere to sit, so we ended up not ordering and leaving which was a shame (we did buy a few deli bits mind)

A must do!!

By Beachbum2473 |

What a find!! This market is absolutely AMAZING!! There is truly something here for everyone. We ate lunch at the seafood counter and it was perfection from start to finish. The service was spot on, the menu was fantastic, and the dishes and cocktails were simply perfect. The seafood tasted like it was just pulled from the sea. It doesn’t get any fresher! There is a fantastic selection of breads and viennoiserie at the boulangerie, a gorgeous array of desserts at the patisserie, and a very impressive selection of charcuterie and cheeses at the that counter. They actually carry Alsatian Muenster! This is truly the only time I’ve seen that in the US. We shopped the candy store, which was great, but skip the ice creams. Sadly they’re subpar. The upstairs market is amazing as well. The only thing that I didn’t like here is that you have to take all of your purchases to central registers, which is pretty inconvenient. Otherwise the market had some really interesting selections. Tin Building is definitely a must do in the city. It’s unique, it’s spotless, and the quality is excellent.

Best discovery!

By TartineMartin |

Discovered this beautiful cafe with equally beautiful boulangerie and pâtisserie products. The flaky croissants and the pain au raisin was to die for! We bought a box to bring to other family members. They were so reasonably priced with the size and authenticity compared to lesser known cafes for the Michelin quality JG has. The patisserie was not yet open at 9:15am but the security was so friendly and welcoming, he allowed me to take photos of the cookies to satisfy the Cookie Monster in me. He suggested a few other treats to try. What a lovely employee to have! We shall return tomorrow.

A New York wonder

By john h |

Beautiful / classy space with incredible assortment of food options. Immaculately clean and professional staff. A true New York wonder. Highly recommend.

Better than average tacos

By Afoodie65 |

Interesting idea. I haven’t been to Eatly but I think this is a similar concept. My wife and I had the tacos at the Mexican restaurant Taquito. We shared the pork and mushroom tacos, both were good. We arrived a bit before lunch hour but seating at the quick stands appears to be very limited. The more expensive restaurants appear to have more room. If visiting again, would like to try a different venue

Great desserts

By New Yorker |

Stopped by a patisserie, cookies and cakes seemed and were very unique and tasty. The prices were decent and the area to sit was charming,

This is the place you move around, taste little, and taste all.

By HenryNYC |

If you enjoy fine food and drink and sophisticated shopping atmosphere, this is the place for you. The place is designed for gathering of people enjoy gastro delight, seeking new but not overboard food trends, and purchase some nicely packaged souvenirs for home. It is not about one bakery, one brasserie, or one wine bar, but the collection of all. This is the place you move around, taste little, and taste all. All staffs are going out of their way trying to help you. You will sense that they enjoy working there and are proud of the place. Unfortunately, crowd size can quickly diminish the quality of services, sometime significantly. I recommend that you try to go in hours that have less people.

lovely place to go

By lde457 |

A really fascinating place with lots of different options for any-sized bite you could want. I ordered a ham and cheese sandwich and whatever I had involved ham but no cheese...I was disappointed but didn't do anything about it as didn't have time to faff around. I'm sure the staff would have rectified the mistake - they were lovely!

Wish we lived nearby to bring home the food. - It is a food court

By sbjinct |

Saw this on CBS Saturday Morning and we made the effort to go there. It is in South Street Seaport which sadly has nothing to offer us but the Tin Building . Beautiful and new, they have a lot of product (oils, Asian food plus fresh food -cheese, fish, meat, vegetables etc) wish we lived nearby to bring home some of this high quality food! We ate at the Italian restaurant for lunch. The pizza was right sized for 2 and crisp and thin crust. We also had a Caesar salad that was well prepared. It is a long way to go to only have this one building even with its multiple option’s within.

Great for coffee and snacks clean fresh and buzzing

By james t |

This was a daily stop for me on my 2 week trips! Great coffee and pastries. Food is top quality and even great to eat. The building feels like a nice escape from the grimy streets of NYC. Fresh lively decor and great up beat atmosphere form the staff. Top tip - grab your food to go and walk to the water and sit gazing over the water and eat.

The best of NYC

Awesome!!!Chef Gregory is the best!!! He knows how to make your experience something to remember. I will go back soon!

Very new and clean

By JenRed2014 |

The Tin Building is a really nice looking brand new place at South street Seaport. It wasn’t very crowded when I was there on a Friday afternoon. There were lots of restaurants, a bar, and several shops. The food in the counters looked like high quality meats, cheeses, fish, etc. but as a visitor, I wasn’t really in a position to shop like that. On the second floor there is a very nice and clean public restroom. We stopped at the bar for a few drinks. The candy shop was eye catching! I hope that this place sees business puck up so that ventures like this one stay around.

Top very nice place

By nance |

Superb place very 20 years old, quality product, French pastry, very clean and lots of choice, to take away or on site

Very interesting site with lots of options

By Cristina M |

Space very well done with supermarkets and interesting restaurants. We had dinner at The Frencheman’s and everything we ordered (pizza and pastas) was very good. The staff is very efficient and friendly and the prices are fair.

Good idea.

By Javier S |

It is a two-story building transformed into a restaurant, beautiful to see, with an idea already widely used in Spain of having an assortment of different cuisine possibilities: Italian, Chinese, vegetarian, seafood, meat, brasserie, cheeses, pastries. You can buy and take away or sit at a table and eat like in any other restaurant, being able to choose the one you want. The truth is that we were not very hungry, which meant that the evaluation of the food in the brasserie was not very good. Just one dish each, no wine. One Caesar salad with grilled egg, another Onion soup and Steak Tartare. Different with lemon, I can't say it's bad but I can't say it's good, different and it didn't say anything to me. No toast with normal bread. Price for a single expensive dish, but we are in New York and in a “special” place. Without desserts and with coffee. My good list.

Many options at Tin Building

By RGF |

Many upscale options for a good meal. Busy and noisy. seems to cater to the younger crowd. Had great sushi on the first floor.

Nice light and healthy lunch

By Josh S |

We had a very nice light lunch at the vegan resturant on the upper level of this property. The food was excellent and the wait staff and service was friendly and very good. The location is adjacent to several tour operators at pier 16 so we just popped over to this restaurant after finishing a quick Statue of Liberty boat tour. My wife and I each ordered the market beets appetizer and then shared an order of the life-changing artichokes and the very nice bread service. My wife also had a kale based beverage which she really liked. There is a very extensive menu but we only had a few items since we wanted a small meal for lunch since we had a big dinner for later, so this worked out fine.

Breakfast

By William Roland |

Multi-story building houses several restaurants, a bakery, etc. Great location near the river. Outdoor and indoor seating. I had breakfast at the Double Yolk. I had the best breakfast sandwich ever. The service was fantastic.

Very fancy!!

By Josh D |

I think the financial district is my favorite place in Manhattan!! I do not understand economics for the life of me and I have no interest in finance!! I enjoy the bull and the One World Trade Center and the 2000 dollar pizza!! I went to the tin building and it was very tiny!! I almost couldn’t fit into it!! That was a stupid joke to get you riled up before the review starts!! I went here for lunch yesterday and got some fancy tacos with braised pork and red onion slaw!! Many people have twisted culinary fantasies and I believe that this is one!! It was very good and so the twisted fantasy was a good one!! I also went to a Japanese store to get some Ringo juice which was the sweat Ringo once had after he headlined MSG!! I would obviously not buy sweat and it was actually apple juice with sparkling water mixed in!! I also got a black and white cookie which was very good and tasted sort of like a donut!!

Lunch with a Smile

By Krenara D |

My mom told me about this place, so we decided to go there for lunch. Had a whole day of it even though we live in the city, so after walking the Brooklyn bridge we decided to get food at the Tin Building. It was extremely overwhelming the first minute you come inside, it’s almost chaotic. People walking around and no clear boundaries of where one eatery ends, and a market begins but very appealing nonetheless. There are MANY food options here, and the staff are incredibly helpful and kind. Recommendations came with smiles which convinced me to stay. We ended up wandering to the second floor and came across “the Frenchman’s Dough”. Whilst pizza and pasta are not really my thing (I’m Italian & had way too much of it in my life), they also had a few gems on their perfectly selective menu. They had a variation of salads that sounded really good, but we opted for the calamari & the chicken parm and some of the bread to start off. Calamari was excellent, literally perfection in fishy form. The chicken parm was also very good, although I was warned it was spicy I honestly didn’t feel much spice at all (my mom was dying though so maybe my tolerance is a little high). The only thing with the parm was the amount of cheese on top, it was very good tasty but health-wise it could’ve been a smaller amount of cheese and still tasted just as good if not better because it was very goopy. And the size of it as well could’ve been reduced drastically, it looked like three chicken breast sewn together. The bread, of course, was great. But it’s hard to mess up with bread, which was complimented by the delicious olive oil. Final points: location is a 10/10, it’s really cute and fun once you get used to the chaos downstairs.

Tin Building by Chef Jean Georges

By MPB |

As a French person who worked for several wellknown French establishments I was at the good place in my environnement, I felt at home here. I took an Airlines ticket from Raleigh North Carolina to eat the famous lemon pizza of Jean Georges and it did not disappoint. The crust was excellent, really light and fine Luke the one I like the most, you can easily eat the entire pizza without any guilt and feel good. I think most of the things was good but it was impossible to try everything. We have a few things like the croissant and the pain aux raisins at the bakery. Even people were coming here to buy a few baguettes and different breads. Then we went to their chocolaterie, how to explain. No words to describe it you have to come. We took a special chocolate bar with hazelnut pistachio praliné and coffee. The merch was classy but I will need to order a few items because I feel like I need a souvenir form this place. Anyway, you should come here and you won't be disappointed.

Amazing Place

By charleyboy1955 |

We stopped by while we were waiting to board the Circle Line cruise around the Statue of Liberty. It was amazing, the ground floor market was most interesting with a huge choice of interesting products. The upper floor deli / dining areas was intriguing. We stopped off at Beer Here for a couple of drinks before heading out. We enjoyed it so much after the cruise we came back for more drinks and food. Julien the server explained how the process worked so we ordered a Brussels Sprout pizza and as we were seated at the bar this was where it was delivered. The pizza was excellent, super thin crust and very enjoyable. With a variety of beers on tap this place is thoroughly recommended. Friendly and engaging service from Julien, a lovely way to spend a few hours.

A must NYC dining experience

Wow wow wow! Love the food scene in New York! And now it’s even better. Jean Gorges just democratized amazing Michelin level cuisine.

Who Says Vegetarian Food Cannot Be Delicious…Jean Georges And abcV

By Michel K |

Who says healthy food cannot be delicious? Not Jean-Georges and his abcV restaurant!! It is located on the top floor of his Tin Building in the South Street Seaport of New York City. Its casual and simple elegance invites the hungry to enter, snd so we did, all ten of us. We were greeted by Henry who swiftly organized a long table for us knights of the rectangular table. We were served like royalty by Caroline and Emily. The delicious and healthy food came in perfectly timed waves served impeccably with smiles galore. From the hummus and roasted cauliflower to the two types of dosas and green spaghetti we ate with our taste buds and olfactory receptors in blissful harmony. The wild blueberry bowl was refreshingly tasty. The green chickpea hummus was very tasty and smooth. To top it off, we were rewarded (I am not sure why?) with 6 delicious deserts prepared with care and creativity: rather than try to describe, I suggest you bring enough people to try them all. So if you are looking for a combination of healthy and delicious food in a casually elegant setting with great and friendly service, then abcV fits the bill which was also very reasonable🙏😊

Designed for tourists

By Joel M |

It’s designed for tourists. The menus are pretentious and colonial in there approach to regional food. I could not force myself to eat there, left and went to ludlow street for felafal and then to the essex street market for dessert. Cheaper, and so much more interesting and imaganitve

Brasserie Disappointment

By JBentraveler |

We had heard about the Tin Building and it's 14 restaurants. and decided to give it a try. There are a variety of places to eat and we decided on the Brasserie. This place was not crowded and we saw at least three servers running around. We ordered the fresh baked bread, a warm squash salad, the mussels and a side of roasted Brussel sprouts. The food came and our waitress seemed to forget about us! We were missing the bread and had to ask several times for it. When all that we ordered was delivered we repeatedly asked for more water. The squash was ok at best, the sprouts were prepared with way too much oil and garlic and the mussel broth was very salty. We were very disappointed and will not be going back. This new building next to the seaport should do well, but there are plenty of better places to eat. The manager did come by to briefly ask how everything was and we responded ok. We needed to leave otherwise I would have told him how much we were disappointed.

Great spot in Tin Building

By Adrienne C |

First time in the Tin Building, and loved walking around and looking at the various small shops and restaurants. This was my first time at AbcV, and was pleasantly surprised with how delicious and fresh the ingredients were. I was a huge fan of the squash pasta. We had nice views of the Seaport as well.

Jean-Georges Eataly

By Mounir |

I stopped by the Tin Building and checked out their coffee shop. I had an Americano, which tasted smooth and delicious. The outdoor seating is nicely located, just across from the historic Newport museum ship, offering an amazing view. The barista was friendly. I’ll definitely be back to try more drinks especially the matcha.

While waiting for the express guided tour of the Statue of Liberty via platform no. 16, take the time to stop

By Alain R |

A beautiful and very clean waterfront market. Butcher shop, pastries, sweets, sushi, sandwiches, cold meats, oyster bar etc...
