Exceptional dining experience!

By Katherine T |

Acadia is, without a doubt, a consistently exceptional dining experience! We've enjoyed countless meals there, from brunch to dinner, and every single visit has been perfect. The staff are always incredibly friendly and attentive, consistently going above and beyond to make you feel welcome. The atmosphere is truly delightful – clean, light, and refreshing – creating the ideal backdrop for their simply divine food. And the food itself? So fresh, so tasty, and wonderfully generous! Acadia never disappoints.

Great restaurant. Would visit again!

By Rob McG |

I visited this restaurant 3 times in a week while on a business trip - twice on my own, and once with a group of colleagues. It’s a lovely restaurant, with a fun buzzy atmosphere. The food is what I would describe as modern Middle Eastern. A highlight was the hummus made at the table which was both theatrical and a personalised take on a Middle Eastern staple (you can choose how spicy it is for example). Plus something I haven’t seen done before. There are a few delightfully spicy dishes (like the spicy feta) which comes with their freshly baked bread. The staff were all lovely and remembered me the third time I visited (and sent me a free dish to boot!). If you are staying in Midtown, I’d recommend this as a good option.

Excellent "Middle-Eastern" food but pricey.

As the weather turned bad suddenly and about a years worth of rain fell out of the sky, we ended up here unexpectedly as we were staying at The Quin hotel adjoined to this restaurant. We were greeted promptly and started with a delicious ACADIA OLD FASHIONED cocktail before going to our table for dinner. All the staff there were friendly, professional and very knowledgeable about the food and gave us great recommendations. We both had the FOUR CHEESE SAMBUSAK (which is in fact a Syrian filled bread) as our starter - but was amazingly delicious! To follow we had ROTISSERIE SASSO CHICKEN (apparently Sasso is the breed of chicken, who knew!?) and a NY STRIP STEAK. Both dishes were very tasty and LARGE portions. The chicken was perfectly cooked and moist served with crispy half potatoes sprinkled with middle-eastern spice Za'atar and the steak cooked to perfection, although there were enough fries with the steak for 3 people! This was too much for one person - US portions are very often way too large and this can be sometimes quite off-putting for people from the UK, so take note Acadia! Our side was MOROCCAN CARROTS which were recommended by our waiter. They came up cold though, which was unexpected. We presumed side orders would be hot to accompany our mains. But they still tasted good. We accompanied our dinner with a great bottle of Chianti and finished with a mouth-cleansing sorbet and ice cream. So overall the dinner and service was excellent, albeit much more expensive than we had initially planned with our bill coming to over $320 for 2 of us. This maybe standard for mid-town New York nowadays, but was more expensive when compared to similar places in London for example. I would say that the menu/restaurant is labelled as "Mediterranean". Being from Europe/UK, we are very familiar with food from all Mediterranean countries, but we would say the menu here is more middle-eastern/north African than traditional Med dishes. With Fattoush, Syrian bread, middle-eastern herbs and spices, harissa, falafel, labneh, merguez, preserved lemons and hummus all coming from North Africa and the Middle-East. We would still recommend this place but make sure you have a decent budget!

Great value

Fantastic happy hour experience. Recommend mezze platter, excellent eggplant - both confit and baba ganoush. Breads are delicious . Great cocktails as well. .

Culinary Excellence...... I mean it!!!

By MichaelsFood |

Acadia is my number one in midtown.... no doubt about it. From decor to service to the food... everything is top shelf. Dining at Acadia is not just dinner or Sunday Brunch... it is a dining experience. The flavors they have created are different and wonderful. Timing of the courses is spot-on and not rushed allowing you to really enjoy the evening. I suggest the the Sizzling Shrimp and Greek Salad (amazing feta) appetizers, Crispy Lamb and Branzino entrees, Roasted Mushrooms side (best ever) and as a definite MUST.... their Silan dessert. (OMG GOOD) Can you tell I love Acadia? :-))) We'll be back for sure!!!

A culinary gem that stands out in a sea of dining options

By MKTravels5 |

Acadia has truly set a new standard for culinary excellence and we cannot say enough about how much we enjoyed it! What distinguishes Acadia from the multitude of dining options in New York is its uniquely crafted menu that showcases an unparalleled mastery of flavor combinations. The chefs have a rare ability to blend ingredients in ways that I would never have imagined, resulting in dishes that are not only inventive but are exceptionally delicious. Even the cocktail menu was creative and featured flavor combinations that were unique and delicious. Zataar on the rim of a margarita!! One aspect that particularly impressed me was the perfect portion sizes. The menu seemed to be designed with a keen understanding of balance, so that each dish was just the right size. This left us satisfied but not too full, which was a good thing because the dessert course should not be missed! Though I’m sure the desserts will change seasonally, the silan we had was light and flavorful and complimented our meal perfectly. Also worth noting is the attentive and knowledgeable service provided by the staff at Acadia. The staff demonstrated a genuine passion for the cuisine, offering insightful recommendations and ensuring that every need was met with grace and efficiency. We highly recommend a table with a view of the kitchen. This experience gave us a behind-the-scenes glimpse into the craftsmanship that goes into each dish. It truly elevates the overall ambiance and contributes to the magic of the extraordinary meal. Acadia is a culinary gem that stands out in a sea of dining options. Its unique menu, expertly crafted flavor combinations, perfect portion sizes, and attentive service combine to create an unforgettable dining experience. I wholeheartedly recommend Acadia as an absolute must-visit for connoisseurs and food enthusiasts alike.

Hurry to Acadia on West 57th

By Lisa S |

Acadia may be new, but it’s an instant “must visit” for me. Conveniently located on West 57th Acadia’s relaxed but truly chic decor pairs well with its modern Mediterranean menu. We happened to be there during Restaurant Week, but only 2 of us chose the $45 3-course prix fix — the others were tempted by the extensive menu! Highly recommend mezzes to share! Don’t skip dessert! Kudos to our server Sean and the attentive house manager!

Terrific Dinner Olexander and Prabal are superstars!

By Kapoor S |

It was another excellent evening at Acadia NYC. In a snowy evening it was a perfect spot to go for a delicious old fashioned and some wonderful steak cooked to perfection. It was most probably the best steak I ever had since I moved to New York. The atmosphere was warm, cozy and the service flawless. A huge shoutout to Olexander, excellent bartender who made some wonderful drinks throughout the night for me and as well executed a great service. Prabal the restaurant GM ensured everything was wonderful. If you live in nearby hotels its an excellent spot to grab most freshest dishes ( salads, seafood and fish dishes). Thank you Acadia team for this beautiful evening! Highly recommended! Cheers!

Best midtown restaurant I've been to

By leir o |

Went to Acadia for dinner with my girlfriend last night and couldn't have been happier. Drinks were solid, food was incredible, and the atmosphere felt electric. Didn't think that chicken liver mousse had a place in a mezze menu - could not have been more wrong. We had the lamb & cod as our mains, would highly recommend. Will be back again for sure.

Must visit when in NYC!!!

By Moshany |

This one is one of the best restaurants in Mid-Town that I have ever been in. Graces hostess and servers. amazing ambiance with earthy colors. Open kitchen concept and the Taboon (portable clay oven). Manageable and attractive menu. We started with some Mezze including eggplant confit, labneh and Mediterranean mix olives. All accompanied by a basket of very tasty bread. We simply cleaned the plates… The Tunisians cigars had a hint of Amba (Indian Chutney) and off coarse the Israeli chopped salad mixed with Tahini sauce and Schug. We had ordered the NY striped steak and Charred Hanger Steak Skewer, yummy, what not to like - meat lovers. With no room for desert we shared the Silan. Oh, what a way to finish a great meal.

Nice, calm place for breakfast at Manhattan

By ekofoed |

I ate vreakfast in the are around 57th / 6th avenue for a week. Unfortunately I did not discover this place until the last couple of days. Acadia is a calm, nice place with fairly healthy food. The service is nice and low key. You are not kicked out. A great place for people that want healthy food in a calm environment. Will probably go back next time in Manhattan.

Great restaurant with Levantine cuisine in a stylish setting

By Stephanie R |

Great restaurant: Levantine cuisine is served here in a stylish setting. The service is excellent: very friendly, attentive and personable! Be sure to try the hummus that is prepared and served at the table. Wine list also very good.

Excellent service and food

By Andrea L |

The service at Acadia was exceptional. Better than most upscale restaurants. The food was great... highly recommend for all the reasons why we eat out!

Loved this restaurant!

By Joanne C |

Yum - wonderful steaming hot bread with eggplant mezze and delicious tableside hummus! Excellent friendly service. The lamb with artichoke risotto and marinated black cod were great. Would recommend!

Terrible Lunch and service

By Skip S |

Arrived at 1145, waiter finally came at 1205, ordered then, got lunch at 1250. They were out of the chicken. Food cold and tasteless. Mistake on the bill took another 15 minutes to fix. Never again.

Nice decor, great food, needs time to improve customer service

By bnnyc1955 |

This is a new restaurant, just around for a few months. It's a mid-upscale restaurant in price. The decor is beautiful. The two rotisserie chickens, with roasted potatoes and vegetables were very good and hot. Three problems emerged: 1. My friend wanted steak and grilled octopus. It was listed on the online menu but was not on the restaurant menu. They should not be different. 2.The service leaves something to be desired. Between the flat bread appetizer, they did not change silverware. 3. We ordered coffee and tea after the main meal. After 15 minutes, we asked what happened and they said 2 more minutes. We gave up, paid and left since we had a concert to go to. We will take a while for them to get their staffing up to full strength and trained, and then we'll consider returning.

East Mediterranean in Midtown Manhattan

By Steven H |

Finally there is a restaurant in midtown that is not typical of the area. Acadia serves food from the Easter Mediterranean and I can't say enough about how good it is. I've had mezze at the bar before a concert at Carnegie Hall and a show at City Center. I've met friends who live on the UES there because it is smack in the middle of midtown and have had a full meal. The food is great but my favorites are the mezze and breads; the shrimp with falafel seasonings; the salmon in borscht and the crispy lamb which can feed more than 1 person. Desserts are delicious too, love the Silan.

Will not revisit this establishment...

By Sue B |

We were treated disrepectfully by our server. We had planned our meal on a menu the attached hotel gave us which apparently was not current. We changed our option of appetizer to fit the different menu and were not made comfortable with change which we made before all of us had ordered. Because of this we decided to forgo ordering a main course and just had appetizers and drinks. So unfortunate as this was actually a very special occaison for the four of us.

Good Food. Avoid the Crispy Lamb.

By MikeDorsey |

Food and service were excellent except for one choice. Lemon Sour is made tableside and excellent. Hummus is also prepared tableside. Service was excellent. We both chose the crispy lamb. Bad choice. It is a lamb neck and there is a LOT of fat. It was crispy, which is why we both chose it for our entree. Everything else was delightful Avoid the crispy lamb and you will have a delightful meal.

Healthy fresh food in Midtown!

By KJKNYC |

Wow! What a find! What a pleasure to step out of the hot sun into a cool modern space. I was pleasantly greeted by the hostess and was offered my choice of seats at the bar or a table. I chose to sit at a table to wait for my friend. My server was kind and considerate about her delay. The menu is filled with healthy and delicious options. I had the avocado and hummus toast with eggs. My friend ordered the Israeli salad. Both were excellent choices. This is a great venue for a business meeting, a day or night out with friends or even a date. You would not be out of place in jeans or dressed up. It’s in a very central, convenient Midtown location. I look forward to going back and trying more items on the menu!

LOVED this restaurant...simple but elegant at the same time!

By Debbie M |

I went to this restaurant with my sister just before 11am and we ordered from the Breakfast menu. The BEST classic Eggs Benedict I've ever had in my life! From the moment we walked through the door we were greeted by a lovely hostess and had a wonderful waitress named Anastazija. We found the food, service, value for the meal and the ambience top notch! If we had been in NYC longer, we would have gone back another day for lunch or dinner. We had the pleasure of trying their dessert called SILAN which was divine and so unique - unlike anything we've every had before. A taste sensation for sure and I'm typically not a dessert person. HIGHLY recommend this place!!

Acadia is . . . basically perfect

By Joel P |

Acadia was listed as the highest-rated restaurant near Central Park. Our office just finished dinner there - and can attest to the high rating. Service is amazing. Setting is subtle, tasteful and effective. The food is spectacular. The price is extremely reasonable. And the service is amazing. Some of our coworkers think it is the best meal they have ever had. All of us tried different appetizers, entrees and desserts - and all were outstanding. Do yourself a favor and make a reservation for Acadia. As a bonus . . . try to sit in Haley's section - and follow her recommendations for wine and dining. She exemplifies Minnesota nice - with a hint of southern charm. Perfect.

Poor service, good food, professional manager

By Jean C |

When we arrived we were greeted warmly and seated immediately. Our server promptly came to ask if we wanted a beverage and after that we became the invisible table. Although our server was casually walking around tending to nearby tables, she was expert at not looking our way. We had to ask someone to retrieve her to take our order and she never once came by to see if we needed anything after our food was served. She turned her gaze away from us every time she walked by. Ultimately we had to flag down the manager to bring us a check. He was very professional, listening to our concerns and ended up bringing us a dessert and comped our whole meal.

Very good food!

By Namaste |

Very good quick meal in a great location! Our food was very good and the menu had a large number of really healthy options!

One word only: excellent!

By EliAn234 |

excellent everything, from absolutely top quality and plentiful food, to service to cleanliness. We had some appetizers like bread stuffed with cheese and eggplant, and also desserts, a cheesecake with a red fruit topping, delicious.

Terrible experience

By Richie S |

Just got back to Philadelphia from NYC visiting a friend for dinner and had a terrible experience at this restaurant. The meal took 2 1/4 hrs for 3 people and when the meal started the restaurant was only around 1/3 full. The gap between the appetizer and main dishes was well over and hour and 15 minutes. Our waiter was non-existent just shrugging at me from a distance instead of engaging us at the table to tell us what was going on. He spoke with a manager who approached the kitchen and then us to ask us if everything was okay when he knew damn well we were waiting way too long. Fast forward to the food. The chicken left me with indigestion which just required Pepto at home. I'm not kidding. The cod and gnocchi were solid but the portion of gnocchi was very small for the price. Lastly were we asked if we would like something removed from the bill or could we be accommodated in any way for the embarrassing long wait? No. They brought us 3 desserts without asking which is a kind gesture but not the appropriate one. We should have been asked to have something removed from the bill instead of bringing us more food. I already had indigestion and two of the desserts had dairy and the waiter was already told at the beginning of the meal that 1 of our diners had a dairy allergy. Again the distant non-existent waiter fails again to pay attention to details! You asked about allergies and neglected to oblige the allergy. Absurd. So 3 desserts were brought out and they were inedible to 2/3 diners. To add injury to insult they actually had the nerve to charge the desserts to the bill and then discounting them off underneath as if to say look at how much food we gave you for free! Insulting. $200 wasted on a very unenjoyable experience. At least 1 full hour of time wasted sitting in a restaurant instead of enjoying extra time visiting our friend out in the streets of NYC. I can not express how badly this ruined our evening. NYC has far too many restaurants especially around Central Park to ever want to revisit. Just an FYI we were 1/3 tables in our area that waited a ridiculously long time for their food. We weren't the only ones.

Never going back!

By Ivan R |

THE NOISE WAS OFF THE SCALE! Near the end of our meal just as we ordered our coffee three young women were seated at the table next to us. They proceeded to talk very loud and use obscenities. I kept hoping someone in management would ask them to turn the volume down as well as their language. It was like being at a beer fest at a frat house not an upscale midtown restaurant. The menu was limited and many dishes were accompanied by very spicy vegetables we were unable to eat. Even though we had a 5:30 reservation it was difficult to get a hold of our waiter! I desperately asked someone else going by our table that I needed my check ASAP before I reached my limit of what I would tolerate from these women. If management could not be bothered then why should I, never going back!

Delicious Mediterranean, near Carnegie Hall

Excellent service, fantastic food, great value- cannot recommend this place highly enough. We had tickets to Carnegie Hall, great location.

Great food, great service I really enjoyed the amazing atmosphere Will definitely go back with family You must try the branzino and the lamb Cocktails and wine list are very impressive

Second visit … just as good!

By Susan K |

Breakfast at Acadia…my husband said it was better than Jams across the street. He had traditional Eggs Benedict. He said he like the two slices of excellent Canadian bacon. He said the eggs were perfectly prepared and the Hollandaise was better than others, very balanced and deliciously lemony. I had the Levantine omelette. I have never eaten an omelette with eggplant as the filling. It was accompanied by goat cheese which was excellent. I think the eggplant could have been seasoned just a bit. The omelet was perfectly prepared. I think it’s a three egg omelet so it was a a lot for one person. I asked for some Harissa, an Israeli sauce and that picked up the flavor profile. I mixed my Harissa with a teeny bit of ketchup for better dipping. The Zatar potatoes are an original touch. I think you’ll love them. We also enjoyed a happy hour here a couple nights ago and ate the fried artichokes, falafel, tuna crudo. All were excellent. If you are a falafel fan, I think you’ll find the chef has an interesting twist on the and has made them his/her own. Mint? Prosecco and House Sauvignon Blanc were quite acceptable.

A bit too touristy

By Herman G |

Great food, mediocre service and atmosphere. The place is missing atmosphere as it looks like a waiting hall and service is very slow for a quite expensive place. Food is very good. While appetizers and drinks are very small ,main portions are ample.

Unreal!

By Angela L |

Booked last minute as opposite our hotel. Wow, wow, wow, the food was unreal. Our server was great too, can't fault it, going again before we go home. Highly recommend the chicken and steak skewers. The homemade bread - next level!

Had high hopes

By Jenny c |

Really wanted to like this new restaurant… but not the case. First of all, the ambient noise mixed with background music was unpleasantly loud. Not relaxing at all. Food was good but service was very slow. They have a 90 minute time limit but the service was so slow it took over 135 minutes to finish our meal. And lastly, when we made the reservation on-line (they don’t take phone reservations) they asked whether it was a special occasion. The answer was yes, a birthday. I expected at least a candle on dessert we ordered but absolutely no acknowledgement. So what was the point of asking?? Their service is completely disjointed. There are many other good and pleasant restaurants in the area.

Very good choice for quality breakfasts

Really good food from the Israeli chef especially Benedictine eggs with a special potato and other specialties. Anastasia and Daniel's service, like the hostess, was wonderful

We found a new gem!

By MichaelsFood |

I'm not sure if I have the proper words to describe just how amazing our experience was, but I will certainly try. :-) We have stayed in midtown a number of times to see the Rockefeller tree and have always hoped this space next to the Quin would be filled again. Acadia opened just about a year ago and when I saw their menu I just HAD to book a dinner there. This year we came down beginning of January because the holidays were just crazy. Let me tell you... I think this timeframe will be our go-to going forward! VERY few people around the tree and in the stores and restaurants!!! For our dinner at Acadia the restaurant was less than half full, but we were treated like royalty from the minute we walked in from the bitter cold. Lance, the head server, greeted us warmly and immediately made us feel at home. The team of servers and bus people was attentive without being overbearing. The atmosphere showed class while also imparting warmth. Nice decor all around! Now.... the most important.... the food! OMG literally everything was absolutely amazing! We started with the Sizzling Garlicky Shrimp... First bite Carolyn wondered if I was okay because my eyes went wide! LOL Yeah I was okay alright... I had just tasted one of the best flavor pallets of my life. The oil and flat bread was so good we ordered a small loaf of flatbread to soak up the beautifully seasoned oil. Entrees... I was intrigued with the Crispy Roasted Lamb Neck listing as it paired items I was not accustomed to, and I was amazed at what was served. The lamb fell off the bone and was just incredible. The meat was served on Freekeh (similar to pearl barley) prepared with dates and walnuts and a host of seasonings that had me making those infamous Yummy Noises repeatedly. Carolyn had the Marinated Chicken Skewer and vegetables and after her first bite exclaimed there would be no leftovers! LOL Finally we shared the Silan dessert. Again... amazing flavor pairings and textures that had both of us making those Yummy Noises again!!! Before dessert we were treated to a complimentary glass of champagne.... the server said.... this is a thank you from Lance for being wonderful diners. Seriously... that small token of appreciation sealed the deal on quite possibly our best midtown dining experience ever. Acadia has only been open a year. I bet it won't take long for them to rise to top rankings on this site. Thank you, again, Lance and all staff, for a most wonderful evening. Blessed be... and happy cooking! Chef Michael R

Best restaurant in NYC

By Deborah |

This restaurant is by far the best restaurant in this neighborhood. We loved everything we had and felt truly cared for by the staff. Unlike the other restaurants in the area that love to give you surly service. This place is different and worth your reservation to dine here. Standouts are the cocktails – namely, the outstanding gin and tonic filled with botanicals, citrus juices, and rosemary -as well as the ravioli appetizer filled with shiitake mushrooms and leeks, and the outrageously delicious crispy duck entrée. Our lovely waitress Clara suggested an over the top delicious dessert – I don't know what it's called, but it was ice cream with all kinds of beautiful frothy creamy toppings, and crunchy accents. My only complaint was at the noise level was outrageously high. :(. It started out manageable and quiet when we were at the bar, but it turned out to be frustrating that I had to yell at my husband who was just 30 inches away from me by the time our apps arrived at 7:00. In fact, Everybody was yelling at their partners to be heard!! So my suggestion is to the management – please, please, please turn DOWN the volume on your music- as the happy atmosphere and joy of your own customers can fill in the blanks without having to torture us with music that does not complement our experience. Your restaurant is so beautiful and welcoming, the lighting soft and sexy, the artwork extraordinary, and the food and super talented chef worth a James Beard award that you don't need really loud music to add anything negative to our experience. But other than that, I give this place a 99% Perfection award and thank everyone from the hostess to the Somaliere for making our night truly special. We can't wait to return because this will be our go-to Restaurant every time we come to New York! Bravo to all!!!

Great vibes, amazing drinks, but the food needs work

By sean r |

The servers were super accommodating and made us feel welcome right away. The space is beautifully decorated, stylish without being overdone, and the wine list and cocktail menu are both excellent. The drinks are genuinely worth the visit. The food, however, didn’t quite match the rest. The tuna Niçoise salad looked great, and the greens were fresh and well-balanced. But the tuna tasted like canned shredded tuna. Maybe it was packed in olive oil, but it still wasn’t what you’d expect. We were hoping for lightly seared fillets like most places serve, and this just missed the mark. The burger had decent flavor, but it wasn’t the smash burger they advertised. Just okay. Bottom line: come for the drinks and the atmosphere. If they elevate the food to match the bar program, this place could be a real standout. For now, it’s more of a cocktail destination than a dinner spot.

Excellent!

By SRWelch00 |

We are big fans of Acadia's sister restaurant, Dagon. Acadia we found is possibly better -- the food is fabulous, service is excellent, and we love the setting and atmosphere. Will be going back to Acadia repeatedly ...

Imperdible. Not to be missed.

Fascinante. Comida esencial. Pocos platos pero preparados. La atención excelente. Fascinating. Essential food. Few dishes, but well prepared. Excellent service.

Acadia offers a truly memorable dining experience. The innovative twists on Mediterranean cuisine must have tantalized your taste buds, leaving you eager to return for more. The attention to detail in both the presentation of the dishes and the service provided likely enhanced the overall atmosphere, making it a delightful outing. Can't wait to go again

Restaurant canceled 2 days before the reservation - NOT GOOD

By Lois L |

Coming in from Chicago and I booked a special 65th BD dinner for 5. This reservation was made about a month ago and was confirmed this past week. i get a call today Sunday that they have to cancel our reservation because the restaurant has been booked for a special event. The reservation was for this Tuesday. now I'm scrambling to get another booking. The women on the phone was lovely BUT this is totally unacceptable. Watch out!
