This is a wonderful restaurant in the theater district. The decor and ambiance are warm and attractive. The staff is friendly and attentive assuring great service. The food is beyond delicious! The dips, mains (chicken, lamb) and desserts were all exceptional.

The most famous Turkish restaurant in Manhattan. The foods are so delicious and their prices are so moderate. You can eat baklava, Sultan’s delight and drink black tea. Besides, the environment is so nice and friendly. The staffs are friendly, so you can enjoy your dinner or lunch.

Two of us in the city for a few days for a show and museums....we had a great dinner on a Friday night, we chose to make a meal of all appetizers, wine, and fantastic baklava for dessert. Place is cozy and very welcoming. Service was friendly and dishes came at the right speed. Can't think of anything negative. Would definitely go back again.

Stopped in for lunch after touring Rockefeller Center - could not have been more pleased. From the great smile and welcome we received on entering to the food it was an amazing experience. There were several business groups in there for lunch; I suspect it gets busy at night so would make reservations.

We were looking for a good place for an unhurried lunch with an old friend from out of town, and Akdeniz proved to be the perfect setting on all counts! The reservation process was seamless, and we were seated in a comfortable booth on arrival. Service was wonderful—friendly and gracious. The menu was broad and the food superb! The hummus was creamy and served with hot, perfect flatbread. Our chicken and salmon kebab dishes were beautifully presented, tasty and beyond ample. The desserts were sinful—particularly the baklava. Of note, Grand Central Terminal is nearby, making it ideal for those coming from away. Recommend highly, and hope to return soon!

Excellent Turkish restaurant. We arrived with friends and had an excellent surprise. The best Turkish food in town

We didn’t have a ton of time and wanted a Mediterranean menu and this came up. We did not make a reservation but at 5:45 they found a table for us. I’ll tell you by 6:30 it was packed. We were in a rush so just had entrees, although the apps looked good. She had the whole branzino, I had the gyro entree. Branzino was amazing, mine was very good. Bread basket was delicious. We told the server of our time issues and we were in and out in 45 minutes, but didn’t feel rushed except by ourselves. They did an excellent job of meeting our need and feeding us well, for a reasonable price.

Terrific restaurant. The best lamb kabobs I've ever eaten. Cooked just right. Friends had the turkish pasta dish and ground lamb skewers and both were outstanding. We finished everything on our plates. Can hardly wait to go back. The restaurant is close to 5th avenue in the theater district. Give it a try. We loved it.

We very much enjoyed the food here and service was very attentive and friendly. The inside part of the restaurant is really loud when full, but the bar area was much quieter and so we moved there to eat. The mixed cold appetizer plate comes with many dips and pita bread . We loved this ! Salads are very large and very fresh. We would return !

I just did a take-out order last week Saturday & it was beyond disappointing. I placed my order in person with the owner, Huseyin. I even repeated my order back to him. I told him I wanted one separate tray of lamb gyro, another separate tray of rice & a large shepherd's salad with feta cheese that would be sufficient for four people. I also ordered three orders of cigar rolls & four yogurt drinks. My total was $176. When I got home with my order, I realized that my order was not only incorrect, but it was impartial. They never put the lamb gyro & rice in separate trays as I asked. Instead, they put the lamb gyro & rice together in small plastic containers filled with mostly salad & huge chunks of potato wedges that were burnt & dried. There were a few pieces of lamb gyro & a little bit of rice with more than half of the container consisting of salad that I did not ask for & huge pieces of burnt dried potato wedges that should have been out of there. I told the owner to not include a salad with my lamb gyro & rice order because I already ordered a large shepherd's salad for four people. I also don't recall them adding potato wedges inside of the gyro & rice order in the past. They had the potato wedges hidden underneath the rice to make it seem like it was a full portion of food when it wasn't. The potato wedges looked like they were leftovers. The yogurt drinks were not bottled. They put my yogurt drinks inside of paper cups with lids on them & it was 95% water. The cigar rolls tasted rubbery. The only thing that was ok was the shepherd salad but even that was the wrong size & they even overcharged me for the salad. I paid all that money just for them to get it all wrong. I already had a bad experience the last time that I did a take-out order & wasn't expecting them to get it wrong again. This is beyond embarrassing & shameful.
