It’s a quaint 1920’s styled speakeasy; a little dark. The service was slow and intermittent, but the food was good. It wasn’t at the level of other 2 Michelin star restaurants, but it was flavorful. Presentations were lacking and the food was cool when served. Cocktail selections were good.

Had the 5 course pasta meal. Some courses I liked— linguine with tomato and fennel, some I didn’t— curried lamb belly. No course was outstanding, memorable. The desert course of cucumber sherbet was very unappealing, like taking a bite out of a cold cucumber. Different, yes, but why not use some of the wonderful fruit available this time of year. Staff was excellent, attentive but in a good way. Dining room had loud pop music playing, what you expect in a gym and not a high end restaurant. We asked for a quiet table but it was still too loud.

A confusing experience. Service was intermittently ok. Most disappointing was being told that we should have booked the pasta tasting menu beforehand as they were sold out. We were contacted twice to confirm our reservation and were never informed of this, nor does the website mention it. We chose the 5 course tasting menu but had the courses chosen for us - we were not asked what we wanted or would prefer. There were over long gaps between courses even though the restaurant was only half full. The food was good but contrived and not up to michelin standard in my experienced view. An expensive disappointment.

5 different ways to enjoy pasta with excellent wine pairings and superb service (thanks Preston)…who could ask for more. Simply put, each of the creative, fresh, tasty, and full of flavor pasta dishes were standouts. When in NYC and if you are looking for a stellar Italian restaurant that stands out, then the Meatpacking District’s Michelin 2* Al Coro is the obvious choice. If the rest of the menu is like the pasta you can’t go wrong. Many thanks to Chef Melissa Rodriguez and her excellent team.

Came for a business dinner. Had the 5-course pasta pasta with myself, and my colleague. It was great. The pasta were excellent, wine list was great, and it wasn't too long of a meal.

This restaurant is very impressive. Motto: see and be seen. All "important" people. Many of them wore backless dresses, and from the conversations you could tell that tasty food wasn't the reason for coming. But there was a pretty dull live band. The service is good. The food deserves a maximum of one star. The individual courses of the 5 or 7 course menu were standard Italian cuisine. The first course was sub-par. The pasta was tasty, the stuffed sea bass sub-par and smelled slightly. The intermediate course was so-so. The dessert was OK. Never two stars, probably only given as a reward for the head chefs. Our standard restaurant. In NYC there is Le Bernadin. Fully deserved 3 stars. A somewhat upscale restaurant, gourmets who go there for the food, no busybodies Recommendation: If you want to make an impression but the food isn't important: Al Coro, if you want to eat well, Bernadin or another Italian with 1 star
Way overrated. Not even close to Italian cuisine.
I choose the 7 course meal. I wasn't impressed by any of the plates. they even forgot to bring lasagna and only when I asked for they did it.
