We tasted the sandwiches of this Italian fast food - it was good, but too simple. For $20 I find it largely overpriced. Even if the quantities are there (I only managed to eat half), there is a little something missing to justify the reputation that this fast food claims.

Having just returned from 2 weeks in Italy, we felt like we were still there at this sandwich shoppe! Just as good if not better than the ones we had in Rome, Florence, and Sorrento! From the bread to the meats and cheeses and the spreads, this is pure, wonderful, craveable Italy!

We came here because we went to one of the shops in Florence and LOVED it. If you've been to the one in Florence, this locale is a little different. First, you won't wait in line for forever (yeah!) and there is actually SOME SEATING. Not a while lot, but there is some, so it was a nice surprise that we wouldn't be sitting on the street. They have adjusted their menu to have some more "Americanized" options, but we stuck with the classics. The sandwich is still the same size (HUGE). All ingredients are superfresh. Staff is very friendly. It's worth a visit. Little bit of disclaimer...that Duke's mayo pack in the pic is one I BROUGHT with me (Southern girl here)..so don't think that this classic Italian joint is going to give you a pack of Duke's. :0)

Nothing to do with that of Florence. Questionable service and horrible, smelly location. High prices. I recommend going for hamburgers.

I don’t know why this place doesn’t have a lot of reviews and 5 stars. This sandwiches are something different. The bread is on the perfect point. Crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. They are very generous with the topics in it. There are a lot of different kinds of sandwiches. The size of those things are tremendous. I was hungry and with one I ended full (in the good way, there is always place for the dessert) I went between 18:30-19:00. I think that that was the best time to go. It wasn’t crowded. The service was very very fast. While I was paying, I was receiving the sandwiches. Finally, the PRICES are ok. The most expensive is $20 but don’t worry, it’s worth it. The size and the ingredients in there speak by themselves. BELIEVE ME. It is worth it those $19 The only but is that there isn’t too much space to eat inside the place. If you want to seat inside and eat you can if there are availability. But there are a lot of good places to sit and eat so that is not an obstacle to buy those amazing sandwiches Place: 4/5 Food: 5/5 People: 5/5 Environment: 5/5 Service: 5/5 Price: between $15-20. (WORTH IT)

So. Everything you read. Is right. My 3rd visit. And always as awesome in terms of experience, taste and crowd. The place is jammed - rightfully so - with folks waiting for great sandwiches and wine. Awesome selection of Bastanich wine and freshly baked breads. I high high high suggestion to go. Had 3 sandwiches for 4 …. Could have easily only had 2. But upside. We had leftovers ! A must visit.

I am not sure how a video of someone from All’Antico Vinaio showed up on my feed but I am so thankful it did. The little place is the New York outpost from Italy. Even the couple behind me that are Italian mentioned that he went to two other locations in Italy and a sign I was at the right place. Line up are common and we waited about 30 minutes and worth the wait. Maybe 11-12 seat only inside but so many other places in the city to eat it anyway. You order at the counter when you see them making the yummy sandwiches. 5 persons were behind the counter and happily working! Even suggested not too make substitutions as they can like he said but would not taste as good. They definitely know what is best for you! A great sandwich start with the bread! So yummy and crispy and warm! You have 16 sandwiches you can choose from. I went with the famous La Favolasa (Sbriciolona, Pecorino Cream, Artichoke Cream, Spicy Eggplant) and was so yummy! My friend went for La Summer (Prosciutto Toscano, Mozzarella, Tomato, Basil) and also raved about it. We were able to get a seat and enjoy it on premises. It was a great experience and can’t wait to go back Regards Ronaldo

A real disappointment.... Sunday, March 30, 2025 at around 7:45 p.m. We know this great name very well for the foccacia generously filled with good products in Italy. While in New York we let ourselves be tempted the last night to push the door of the small local located in Times Square.... Very bad idea from the start. An icy, totally unacceptable and inappropriate welcome from the attendant. She was busy on her phone and considering her reaction, we disturbed her in her inactivity... So no hello, nothing just a sudden gesture with his head. The clerk who prepares the order, has been exemplaryly polite. We give our choice over the foccacia and I ask for a Spritz and a bottle of water as a drink because our intention was to eat on site. She was unable to explain to me the difference between the 4 Spritz proposals that were proposed. Between his sighs, his eyes raised to the sky and his I don't care frankly I've never seen such behavior! Even his colleague at the counter was uncomfortable with his disrespect. In view of the situation, we cancelled the drinks and took away! As for the product itself. Second disappointment! Inside the uncooked foccacia so really not good. We were very disappointed to just eat the three slices of mozzarella and two slices of tomatoes for 14$50 plus tax and have to throw away the bread because inedible! I imagine it is a franchisee but it really gives a very bad image of a known and recognized name.

entering we ordered 4 focaccias one better than the other, excellent. Friendly friendly staff and super good. Great food. Local a little small. Normal price to be in New York

You want REAL Italian sandwiches??? You want your mouth singing???? Freakin' RUN to All'antico Vinaio and order ****anything****. The L'Inferno (you know, Dante) is my fav, but I'll admit, i haven't yet worked through the entire menu. These are NOT wimpy panini!!! These are 2-3 person meals encased in bread. Honest!!!! Excellent ingredients and wonderful staff.

We happened to walk by here on our way to 5th Avenue during our vacation and had breakfast. We've made this our daily routine. Authentic Italian food, Italian staff and just super delicious. Considering the New York prices and the size of the sandwiches, which can be cut for two, then it's great value for money.

I've seen this place on the Internet and how popular it is in Florence. I found out they had opened one in NYC but hadn't had the chance to try it until one day, we needed a quick bite to eat before a broadway show. This was perfect because it was quick, and it was close to the theater. So we stopped in on a Tuesday at around 5:30 and there were probably only 2-3 people there. It did start getting crowded when we left at around 6:30. The place is pretty small but does have a few seats where you can enjoy your sandwich. When you walk in, you order at the register and then wait for your sandwich by the fridge area. I ordered La Schiacciata del Boss (prosciutto toscano, pecorino, truffle) and added arugula. It's a giant sandwich so make sure you ask them to cut it in half ahead of time, because they don't do so unless you request it. I would say the sandwiches are too big for one person but not enough for two people. My husband and I shared one and wanted to order another one afterwards but knew we would be too full if we did that, so we opted out. The sandwiches are also pretty pricey, at $17 a pop, since they import all of their ingredients from Italy. It was really good and packed with ingredients,, but it's definitely a once in a while treat.

Fantastic!!!! It's a shame that in Milan and Florence I was never able to get into long queues; but I would say it's better to have the chance in New York where with 18/20 euros I couldn't eat a decent hamburger or sandwich. So finding Tuscan and Italian flavors in NY and of high quality, and with extremely friendly staff is truly comforting. I've read reviews that talk about high prices; the only sandwich I've found for less than 18 euros is only the hot dog on the street so I don't understand them. So excellent focaccias with excellent ingredients, friendly and friendly staff... if they were just a little bigger they would be excellent. Missing compensated with the shirts of Nico Gonzalez and Biraghi!!!!

We stumbled on this by looking for a bite to eat before a Broadway matinee.... quite close to the theater district..... there was a line and we wondered what it was for.... Only two guys behind the counter literally making your sandwich and slicing the meat that goes in it, in front of you..... another one in Florence from what we heard while waiting in line.... not sure about that....

Nothing to say about the quality of the products, perhaps prices a little high for a focaccia, however delicious it is. Small place, very crowded, limited seating, I went to the one on the 8th.

Generous sized focaccia, well stuffed and good. Price a little high, a focaccia $20 but Once you've finished eating it, you're full!

The food is superb! Watching the proscuitto sliced direclty onto my sandwich, after seeing the foccacia bread come out from the oven - I knew this was going to be FRESH! And it was delicious! We visited the midtown location and there is very minimal seating - we lucked out and got two seats but it was quite crowded and the people waiting in line are back to back with people sitting at the barstools. Sandwiches were huge - I took more than half with me, eating some for dinner later that day and then the rest heated up with an egg for breakfast the next morning. It was delicious when served, eaten cold on the train later that night and heated up the next morning.

Tasty selection of fresh Italian sandwiches. Delicious Italian bread combined with high quality ingredients provided in generous sizes. Staff is friendly and efficient. Just go and enjoy Italian sandwiches at it's best!

Great! Wonderful snack Lá paradiso - mortadella with sensational pistachio cream $18.00 And other types of snacks

All the sandwiches are delicious, mine, La Paradiso, mortadella, stracciatela and pistachio cream. Delicious. I recommend if you go with friends, order different and share. The best option is to-go, the place is small. Also, if you’re traveling or picnicking, or walking in NY or Central Park, you can buy some and take them.

I just at 2 dunks one from $13 and one from $17 I had to pay $30 but the guy I demanded 34 I don't know why since the prices are well exposed I asked for the receipt but pretended nothing happened and told me that they do not leave receipts. ( if he wanted the miss I decide to leave him or not)

Place that sells Italian sandwiches with a lot of options, small place but they serve great sandwiches very well served

Empty room, focaccia served cold, seemed to come out of the freezer, absurd prices, nothing to do with that of Florence.

The famous sandwich shop from Florence, Italy, has opened this small annex in New York. There they concoct the same succulent giant sandwiches with quality ingredients, sandwiched between two slices of foccacia. Towering piles of schiacciata emerge from underground at regular intervals, glistening with olive oil and fizzing with coarse salt, releasing steamscapes from a dense landscape of air bubbles as the loaves are sliced horizontally , the ends cut off and passed to the patiently waiting customers. Each slice is filled with irresistible combinations of fresh-cut meats, cheeses, flavored creams and vegetables, which can make the choice difficult. Counters and a few high chairs to sit on. Ottimo! Sandwiches: $12 - $20

Matteo nr 1, very nice and easygoing. Best NY spritz to accompany the exquisite dunks (beautiful plentiful). Really Made in Italy products, here even the big apple tastes a little bit of Italy (suitable for homesick). Highly recommended for a quick meal.

Truly authentic Panino place. I fully recommend the Boss Panino (Prosciutto, Truffle, Pecorino). The flavors get even better the day after. Know that this is a place to go for take-out/pick-up (no seating), simply perfect to get your fancy sandwich and pair it with a nice glass of red or white wine. The kids behind the counter are 200% Italian and you can trust what they are doing with the ingredients. They do take their time assembling what will be an unforgettable Panino. My suggestion: offer the option to grill the Panino. I did this at home and the Boss got even better. Excited and happy with All'antico, can't wait to try the other options on the menu.

In a place where exclusively Italian products are served and Italian music is played in the background, it is unacceptable that the employees do not know even one Italian syllable. They have an arrogant attitude and speak narrow American that is difficult to understand. I was laughed at and treated very badly just because I didn't understand that you had to order first and then pay (which is somewhat isolated, especially in New York) Small and dirty place, the various cured meats and sauces are visible and poorly preserved, the Schiacciata is bordering on edible only because after several days of burgers and hot dogs we were looking for something close to a taste of home! ! The employees are not only rude, they are also dirty!! I advise dear Tommaso to take inspiration from my review to improve something about this place, perhaps starting with the staff. The price is adequate for New York standards. AS FAR AS I'M CONCERNED NEVER AGAIN!!!

This is small sandwich shop near Times Square, mostly for take-out but with a few seats inside. It was recommended to us by a local Manhattanite. The menu has a variety of sandwiches with more than the usual ingredients. The sandwiches are Italian style, very large on flat bread. We were looking to get a quick lunch before our matinee show. We took the sandwiches to our hotel a block away. The sandwiches were too large for us to finish for lunch.

I ate an amazing focaccia, local Italian, Florentine, it is also found in Florence and in New York I think there are 2. As I was saying, amazing focaccia, all Italian products, raw, mortadella, vegetables, mozzarella, tomato, cream of truffle, pecorino, good oil. It's difficult to find such a good focaccia. Very affordable prices

This is a well known Italian sandwich shop in Italy and now in NYC. There bread is made right before you get your sandwich. OMG! how good is the food here. My favorite is the Toscana. I don't think you can go wrong with anything you order. Not much seating there, so you may need to wait or just take it with you and eat at the park.

We went one evening to get some paradise flatbreads. Since we had ordered them online we went directly to the checkout without queuing. The worker who was cutting the cured meats immediately scolded us, accusing us of not wanting to queue. Once we retrieved the order we found that there was no mortadella inside and I pointed this out to the worker who immediately said that he had done as per our request on the order. We had actually made a mistake and had requested not to add the mortadella. We didn't make an issue of it at all and we didn't object to his request for an extra payment of 4 dollars per dunk. But for him it didn't end there. He accuses us of wanting to be clever to pay less since the mortadella had been eliminated. We paid the eight dollars but in reality, subsequently, given the rudeness and insistence with which he continued to insist out loud in front of all the other customers in a rude but above all arrogant way, we showed him the receipt on which the amount charged at the time of pick up was full price including mortadella. At that point he decided to give us back the extra eight dollars that were no longer justified. Continuing to speak loudly against us in front of all the customers on the way out he told us not to come back again. And I definitely won't be coming back again. On the way out, 4 other people who had witnessed the long scene said that they did the same to them, asking for extra, and all of this in ways that are not befitting of personnel and the public. Only this character with the mustache present on Friday 11 August at 8.45pm/9pm had deplorable behavior which absolutely does not make us look good as a representative of a nation that should thank those who give it hospitality. A loyal customer from Rome not only will he no longer see me in New York but I will urge anyone who asks me for advice not to go. It certainly won't ruin the reputation of the great Amtico Vinaio but I hope it will encourage the owner to choose his employees more carefully.

I am an Italian from Florence, and I can guarantee you that the sandwiches here are completely overrated. The quality of the meat is really poor and the prices are very high. Could definitely get better for the same amount of money!

Truly excellent focaccia, I tasted the fabulous quality and quantity of the excellent ingredients. Excellent service and courtesy

One of the best vegetarian sandwiches I’ve ever had, definitely recommend “The Broadway”. It was well balanced and the ingredients are so fresh.

This is for all those that leave Florence wanting just one more panino from All’ Antico Vanaio! The vibe is a bit different but you won’t find better panini outside of Florence than here. The bread is fresh and all of the ingredients, no matter which menu item you choose, are authentic. They’ll even make one with your choice of meat and sauces. Multo Bene!

The Worlds Best Sandwich You MUST Experience My wife and I go to NYC quite often and most of the time we usually do things in midtown. On Friday On October 3rd I had a doctor’s appt in Union Square near lunch time. After my appt we decided to walk around the area and check things out. The area was bustling, they have vibrant public spaces, a Greenmarket that was the best I’ve ever seen, great shopping lots of restaurants of all types of cuisines. The park has statues of George Washington, Abraham Lincoln, Mohandas Gandhi and the Marquis de Lafayette. I have been told they also do a holiday market which we will be visiting. It’s now lunch time and we were both hungry. After looking I my iPhone for places to eat we decided to try All’Antico Vinaio. They originate from Florence, Italy and have sandwich shop in NYC (7 shops), LA (4 shops) Las Vegas (2 shops) Nashville (2 shops) Boston (1 shop) and are building more. We got to the front door and there were 11 people in line. I grabbed a menu, and we started to make our decision about what we were going to have. (it was tough) every sandwich sounded delicious. In the meantime, trays of warm Focaccia Bread kept coming out of the ovens and placed on cooling rack. You see this is what your sandwich will be made with. YUM, warm fresh focaccia bread what more could you ask for! My wife ordered the “La Paradiso” gal standing beside us said it was her favorite! It’s made with Mortadella, Stracciatella & Pistachio Cream, my wife was extremely happy with it. I ordered the “L Inferno” it’s made with Porchetta, Nduja, Spicy Eggplant, Spicy Zucchini and Arugula. TO DIE FOR!!!. The quality, quantity of ingredients could not be any fresher. My wife and I travel to Italy every year and we both said Italy sandwich shops have nothing over this place. I highly recommend you try one of the NYC locations I know my wife and I will become regulars here when we are in town.

Excellent focaccia with delicious and fresh ingredients...with one portion I ate two meals...high prices but the quality is there...highly recommended

Good sandwiches but pricy in my opinion. There was a lot a people when I visited mid afternoon but the staff was able to move the line quickly. I dont think the ingredients used are new or innovative, the bread however is key to the sandwich. I recommend a visit as you won't be disappointed. As a hint , ask them to cut you sandwich in half as there is a chance you won't finish it.

As good as we had heard! Functions and tastes like you’re in Italy. Nice guys working too, especially the fella at the meat slicer (he had dark hair, wearing a mask, some light accent, lives in Astoria- clearly I didn’t ask his name, alas!) Husband had La Schiaciatta del Boss and I had La Paradiso (which was like dinner and dessert- the pistachio cream! Oh, the pistachio cream…) We got there a little before 5:00 - didn’t have a line and even got the window seat. By 5:30 the line had started (again - sounds like lunch line is long but moves fast.) Worth. It.

Here you can really eat Italian. Competent and helpful staff, nice and experienced guys. In a seat even Italian staff doc. The first-rate food. We saved lunch on several occasions. Very central location.

We stopped for lunch after a long walk. Small place and full of people. Very good and well filled focaccia. Prices a little high, $20 seems a lot to me. However, it's worth trying for a quick lunch.

Stood in line for 2.5 hours yesterday for a free sandwich at the grand opening of All’Antico Vinaio in Nomad. I chose La Paradiso as I like mortadella and pistachio. This sandwich is big so I ate it for two meals. Definitely will return to sample a few more. The schiacciata bread’s aroma was heavenly!

Fantastic focaccia, so huge and stuffed that you struggle to finish it. In my opinion the NY store is better than the one in Milan. I will happily return, too bad it is very small and there are very few stools to eat in peace

I stayed at this place after several days of typical American meals. I really wanted to taste Italian tastes and I was thrilled. Crunchy and super stuffed focaccia. I felt at home. The staff is very courteous and helpful.

Pretty expensive (in Italy you can get this sandwich for 1/3 of the price at the same place) but soooo good. It's worth it. Unfortunately, New York is very overpriced in general. I paid $20 for the sandwich (La Summer).

The best Italian sandwich in NYC. There is a line but this tiny Florence sandwich shop is worth it. The staff are Italian individually slicing and preparing each order. The bread freshly baked coming on trays from the oven. Try the La Favolosa and the La Schiacciata del boss .the daily special was with artichoke spread, cheese and prosciutto . Amazing! The sandwiches are large and can be easily shared. You will love every bite. there are italian wines as well.

I tried the original in Florence. This has almost nothing to do with it! Mediocre quality products, crazy prices. If you can avoid it! In New York you can eat well if you know how to move! Don't waste time (and money) here

Sandwiches are very large (packed with meat, etc.) and delicious. They have truly brought the taste of Florence to NYC. Wonderful (and prices are great for the large sandwiches).

Excellent sandwiches made with freshly baked focaccia, Italian fillings of cold cuts, cheeses, creams and various vegetables. They are not cheap from $15 to $24, they are great, I recommend them to share. We ordered a $17 La Paradiso (mortadella, stracciatella, pistachio and pistachio cream), great, and we also ordered a $19 La Favolosa (salame Tuscany, pecorino cheese cream, artichoke and spicy eggplants), a burst of flavor, the best. The place is tiny, we fit like 12 people sitting, we went to the one on 46th st with 8th avenue in Manhattan, you can order an Italian wine to accompany it, we ordered a Sangiovese (red wine from Tuscany) to warm us up as we went in winter.

Crushed really Top.. excellent and fast staff and very friendly. In particular I point out Veronica who is very nice and very friendly .. Go there that you will come out fully satisfied .. Hello and see you soon .,♥️

I am a long-time customer of this restaurant. I traveled all the way from Connecticut to go to this restaurant. I ordered two of the La Paradiso sandwiches which is Mortadella and other ingredients. The person slicing the mortadella was at the end of the mortadella roll which is about 1/3 the diameter of the main section of the roll. At other Italian delicatessens, the server always knows to change the roll when getting to the end. As a customer paying for a high-priced sandwich, especially when going out of my way (a 2 hour round-trip train ride and a 1.5 mile walk to and from GCS), I felt short-changed and cheated. The result, I will never go back or recommend (after being a long-time customer, and referral source) this restaurant or its other locations around the city.

In New York for work, I wanted to try it, especially to avoid eating the usual hamburger. My impression is that it is an "almost" ancient Vinaio. Meanwhile, the motto is be careful as you "don't" smoke it. There is no comparison with the one taken in Florence. At least in my opinion. Incidentally, it's good and better than hot dogs, burgers and the like, but if I'm honest, I would hardly return. Then again, the prices are pretty absurd, but that's everywhere in New York.

Friendly staff, clean room. Super food. Fixed stop in New York for those who love Italian food. Tuscany is truly excellent

Sandwiches made with all cold cuts, cheeses, sauces, Italian vegetables. The bread is a divine focaccia. Young and cool staff. Superb. All sandwiches can be shared. Sensational.

Fantastic crush and ingredients, really nothing to complain about. True Italian flavor after many days in America. Very fast service and average prices. Recommended for a quick lunch in the midtown area

The sandwich was phenomenal but went old school with just the prosciutto and arugula and olive oil —-none of the spreads or cheese. My friend was familiar with the restaurants in Florence and was nicely surprised!

In the midst of many places that serve unlikely pizzas and other foods of dubious nature, Antico Vinaio stands out for its quality, friendliness and (authentic) Italian character. Nearby there is also the Amorino ice cream shop, to finish with a good ice cream.

We were at the end of a week in NYC. Husband wanted a sub. I was tired of suggesting restaurants and having them rejected, so he said, "I'll find a place." And boy did he. Doing a bit of research later, I learned these folks had been operating as a pop-up and finally got their own tiny space...and it is SMALL, be warned. No outside seating when we were there. They've constructed some counters that are about six inches deep with stools, but the place was crowded with people sitting and others in line and others waiting for their orders. But, it was ALL worth it. Friendly and accommodating owners, choice of bread, HUGE sandwiches (I took half back to the hotel) and possibly one of the best sandwiches I've ever eaten. It's not cheap, but what in NYC is?

Awesome schiacciata (typical Italian bread) in NY with fresh and tasty products. Comparably equal in terms of quality to the ones you can find in Italy. Great price quality ratio.

After a busy Memorial Day Weekend, went here with my daughter. I love mortadella so I had the Paradiso. Awesome. I didn't know that pistachio cream was a thing. Love it. Cannot wait to go back.

A breath of Italy here in New York! The famous 'BADA COME LA FUMA' gave us an Italian lunch and no less kind, smiling and helpful staff

Sadly, this restaurant was a complete disappointment. In a city with amazing sandwich shops, this is clearly not one of them. There were two main problems with the sandwiches. The first was that the bread was extremely tough and hard to eat…nat all what one would think an Italian focaccia style bread would be. I don’t know if it was because the dough was overworked, or if the bread was just old, but either way the bread was completely unenjoyable. The second problem is that the spreads they use are very potent. This is not in itself a problem, but it becomes a problem when it is not applied evenly across the sandwich. There were large globes in certain areas and none whatsoever in others. I’m sure if there was a thin layer across the entire sandwich. It would’ve been much more enjoyable, but the way it was presented on both sandwiches made the flavor way too strong in certain areas. For a restaurant that has so many positive reviews. I was really expecting better. When you pay over $45 for two sandwiches, you have an expectation that they will be edible and enjoyable. These two were not. Unfortunately, we took our order to go and did not find the problem until we got back to the hotel. Lesson learned, we will not be back.

Come HUNGRY because those sandwiches will FEED you! Slivers of imported Italian porkiness, except the Turkey and Roast Beef. Each sandwich has its own recipe but the delightful staff is not beholden to it. They will graciously customize them to your desire. They have a Team Mate Chavonne (sp?) and the Cashier Victor, who work together like the greatest NFL QB Running Back duo. They both helped all of us in line, try the spreads and creams and make delicious decisions to personalize our flavors. Our family doesn't even LIKE Mushrooms, yet THAT Porcini Spread is EVERYTHING!!! It only comes 2nd to the Nduja spread because we are a spicy family and LOVED that too. We got The New Yorker, Paradiso, L'Inferno and Venice Beach. Each with their own thinly sliced, fresh Imported Salumeria, which melts in your mouth, on its on. Just Go!

I passed by completely by chance and having not yet tried it here in Italy I was very curious to know what the result was like? amazing if it's so good in NYC I can't imagine how good it is here in Milan, as soon as I get the chance I'll pop into the cathedral

Great sandwich shop so take a breath from the burgers. Bella location . A bit in a row but well managed Very good Matthew of Prato. Very efficient, loose talk but quick hands: does, supervises, cheers. Tuscan schiacciata with excellent ingredients. Very large and overstuffed. New York prices but superior quality to horrible fast food. Cheap drinks Thank you! You made me feel at home!

Huge delicious sandwiches- we had La Favolosa and La Schiacciata del boss- took back to hotel- lasted for 3 meals! The bread and the pureed spreads were divine. Have to line up and good time to see serving staff cutting meats and making sandwiches. When we asked to identify some item- we were offered a taste. Line goes quickly. Will return whenever we're in NYC.

NOTE: This review is specifically rated for the Brookfield Place location in Downtown NYC / USA [FYI] RE: Italy / Florence locations are busy with lines but the service is patient, quick, courteous, and respectful. The food is exceptionally tasty (especially by American standards). Rating 4/5 (not a 5 due to being crowded and lines). [FYI] RE: USA / NYC 7th Avenue location is small and clean. Very civilized atmosphere, staff, and customers. The food was great, and so were the beverages. Prices are much higher than Italy, even when factoring the mild exchange rate. Rating 4/5 (not a 5 due to prices). RE: USA / NYC Brookfield Place Downtown location is in a food court-like setting. The staff is friendly and courteous, and customer service-oriented. Prices in the USA are much higher than Italy. Though the bread and components of the sandwiches are delicious (!) on their own, the overall sandwich as a food was not enjoyable… two main reasons: (1) the prosciutto was impossible to bite; the entire slice had to be pulled from the sandwich to be eaten, and (2) the ratios of some components was not balanced (such as pistacchio, cheese, and meat spreads, vegetables, and meats). Italy seemed too light on the meat (for American tastes) and too heavy on the veggies (for American tastes). Ironically, in NYC it’s the opposite: good amount of meat, too much spread, too little veggies. Rating 3/5 (would not be a 5 due to prices, and is short of a 4 due to the two above mentioned items). Would recommend to try this eatery. The sandwiches are a good size - larger than they look. (BTW, I think Brookfield will only improve since it is a brand new location for AV.)

Great Italian style sandwich spot. All sandwiches are made with Tuscany focaccia. Great selection of cold cuts as well as cheeses and veggies. We had 4 different sandwiches from their card and some combined too many different tastes. Recommend the basic ones that are very exceptional. La schiacciata del boss was very nice, although we replaced the truffle cream with nduja. Very large sandwiches ranging between $15-20. Little space to eat in. Possible to order online for pick up. Gets crowded at lunch time, expect 15 min waiting time.

I luckily read about this place somewhere online in the past year. And got even luckier still because it is located one block from the hotel we stay at when visiting NYC. But don’t get me wrong. The food here is worth crossing the city to experience. We haven’t tasted sandwiches like this since we visited Florence. My husband and I first shared The Odd Couple which consists of porchetta, Gorgonzola and pistachio cream. OMG! It was every bit as delicious as it sounds. But I couldn’t leave town without trying The Schiacciata del Boss made with prosciutto toscana, pecorino toscana and truffle cream. And yes it was worth standing in line for 40 minutes and risk being late leaving for the airport. As others have said before; the sandwiches are huge, the bread is amazing and the staff compiles your sandwich with a smile as you watch salivating. Am counting the days until we can return.

Are you looking for top quality? Go there with your eyes closed! Hearty, ultra-fresh sandwich without fuss at a price that matches the quality of the products served. The sandwich is prepared before your eyes, it’s *****! Super nice Italian boss... we will definitely go back...

Definitely lives up to the hype - pricey yes, but the sandwiches are bigger than your head so it’s more than worth it. Great vibes in there and really lovely staff.

Expensive and poor product: Served cold and badly seasoned A trivial sandwich with no plus Very expensive I remember with nostalgia when it was a great florence place Only the name of the original product Much better pizza in front ... They mounted their heads and forgot what made them unique

Amazing! is great, you feel in Italy. Very friendly and delicious food. Yo soy mexicano y fue una experiencia muy buena en la ciudad. 💜

Top-rated focaccia in town. Agree to try the suggestions of the day, it was the best. Good aperol and italian beer Recommended!

We had the L.A. Fadeaway with Artichoke Cream - it was amazing. We also had the La Broadway with Pecorino cream - was very good. The sandwiches are huge and 2 people can easily share one. You may encounter a line of 10-15 minutes.

Stopped for authentic Italian sandwiches and they were delicious. Matheo was so friendly and we loved his recommendations.

Expectations were high and we went specifically to rediscover some of the Italian flavor but the disappointment was equally bitter. The focaccia was not fresh, certainly the American palate does not know the difference, the cured meats were very salty and overall not suited to Italian tastes. Too bad... or maybe not, after all most of the customers are American

We had the flatbreads twice here in Time Square Once for a snack and once for dinner Always excellent!! Recommended Fair price, not a lot of queues

The snacks are delicious, with fresh, quality ingredients. Pleasant atmosphere and friendly service. The same quality offered in Italy, but in NY the prices are higher. I highly recommend it.

So, so, so good. We got the La Paradiso (mortadella, stracciatella, pistachio and pistachio cream) and it was unbelievable. Would add arugula next time. Every sandwich was huge and looked amazing. 10 stars would go again.

Our granddaughter had been to the restaurant in Florence and wanted to take us to the one in NYC! What a treat! (We did treat her though). Because we caught sight of the size of the sandwiches before we ordered, we decided to order two and share between the three of us. The bread starts out square and is cut into rectangular shape. In itself the bread made one think he/she was in Florence! Our choices were LA Summer and Venice Beach. Both were outstanding! The first had prosciutto toscano, basil, tomatoes and mozzarella. Yummy, yummy! The Venice Beach was Turkey, tomato and mozzarella! I honestly don’t know when I have had better sandwiches. In the end, three of us had a hard time finishes the two sandwiches because they were huge and packed full. The shop was busy and had limited seating, so we found a quiet park like place nearby and ate there. I strongly recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants incredibly delicious sandwiches. Just close your eyes and pretend you are in Florence!
Excellent
What about .. a goodness in New York! Friendly and fast service... great quality! Only flaw location too small! Highly recommended
