Just came in to the barroom and had a great conversation with my new friend Steven. An amazing person and a great guy overall. I hope to see him again, when I come back. He made me an excellent Paper Plane Cocktail and his Aviation cocktail was indeed perfect. Thank you again Steven. Michael

What a fantastic spot! The atmosphere was delightful, especially in the bar area, which was full of good vibes. The service was fast and friendly, but the real highlight was the drinks—absolutely delicious! Highly recommend for a great night out!

Our server Sujay was great! He had some good recommendations. Food, drinks, and service were all fantastic. The wild mushroom and roasted apples cocktails were a great start to the meal. Squash, ravioli, and salmon were delicious. The chocolate brownie was the perfect ending.

The cuisine was prepared with A LOT of care and beautifully presented. I dined with a group of 12, so we sampled EVERYTHING on the menu. BOH critiques: Food that was supposed to be hot, didn’t come out hot Turnips delicious…lighter on the peppercorns Poussan was a tad game-ish (for my taste) Beef Tartare needs flavor FOH: Entire staff was courteous, but please purchase serving utensils so the servers can work seamlessly. I understand how new openings can be, so I can’t say enough about our server Sav! He was LOVELY which made our Friendsgiving event extra special! Sav was confident, knowledgeable and incredibly engaging. We were in good hands and is the primary reason I will be returning with MORE friends. Loved the ambiance and great music. Looking forward to Round 2.

Contemporary style restaurant with sharing dishes inspired by the elements. Highly recommend the pumpkin dinner roll, wild mushroom ravioli, artichoke tempura, hamachi, and octopus! All very delicious! Smaller portions, but kept us completely full! The drinks were very strong!

Great food with great service. We had the hangar steak, salmon, pumpkin bread, fruit tart and brownie, I would order everything again. Sav, our waiter, took great care of us. Will definitely be back.

Outstanding!! Was so pleasantly surprised by this restaurant inside the hotel. Cocktails were delicious, seasonal, unique and fun. Everything from appetizers (mushroom ravioli-wow!) to fresh salads and desserts (Tiramisu) was over the top, flavorful and left you wanting more. Our server, Nicole, was the icing on the cake. She had fantastic recommendations, was so friendly, attentive and timely. We lucked out! Great experience all around.

David is awesome! He suggested the best truffle and mushroom pizza and my wife loved the Strawberry Bramble… and makes an excellent Mezcal old fashioned despite not using Peychauds.

Our waiter, Shay, was a phenom! So awesome. As opposed to the waiter at The Harold - who was so rude we left. I will be coming back and I hope we get Sujay again. Keep him!

"Perfect" best describes our Altair experience. Positive vibe and energy from the time we entered the restaurant to the time we left. Sav, our waiter, made us feel welcome and appreciated as he carried us through the meal with excellent descriptions and recommendations. We shared our plates of foie gras terrine, steak tartar, mixed greens salad and duck breast and every bite was amazing! Thanks to Sav, Javier and the entire Altair staff for making our last night in NYC a memorable one!

The breakfast was outstanding. Affordable. Service was top notch. Every person we interacted with was terrific. Definitely will add this to our list for return visits.

I stayed at this hotel and absolutely loved the bar experience. Emmanuel, the barista, makes a cappuccino that’s nothing short of spectacular—rich, perfectly balanced, and full of quality. You can tell he really cares about his craft, and his friendly, welcoming attitude makes it even better. If you’re staying here, make sure to try a cappuccino from Emmanuel—you won’t regret it!

Delicious brunch! Our party of 8 had a reservation for an early morning breakfast. We were seated quickly and our server was kind and energetic even though it was 7:30am. I would definitely recommend this restaurant for breakfast! The avocado toast and the pancakes are a must have!

Great pre theatre dinner at Altair. Our server Samir made sure we could finish by our theatre time. We did the pre theatre special which was three courses for $55. We started with appetizers, a nice salad and tempura artichokes. The entrees were a perfectly cooked sea bass with a nice sauce and a hanger steak with a spicy pepper pistachio sauce. The desert was a brownie with a caramel layer. All the dishes plus the wine made for a perfect dinner. In addition the restaurant is beautiful. We highly recommend Altair for a lovely dinner!

Ignore that Altair is on the ground floor of the Arlo Midtown Hotel. The cocktails are both creative and presented beautifully. The menu is varied and the food compliments the cocktails. There is a bar area and dining room. The staff is helpful and attentive.

I go to grab my coffee at Altair a lot because it is such great quality and the staff is so kind. Emmanuel is such a positive part of my day. He always goes above and beyond to make sure my coffee is perfect!

We were heading to a show and wanted a restaurant nearby. But we didn't want the tourist trap huge chains or the mediocre ones that have been there for decades. This was a welcome surprise. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. We were a bit of a challenge being a large group, who didn't all arrive on time, while still being crunched for time to make the show - they handled it without a hitch and without a hint of attitude. Food was excellent. New and unique. Every dish was fantastic. Only room for improvement is the menu itself [not the food, the organization]. It's very thematic [on the elements, I get it] but it was unclear whether things were best suited for an appetizer or a main course. Servers were happy to explain, which was very helpful. But if you or people in your party like to preview the menu before they go and can have it explained, it could be better.

Our waitress Justine was remarkable. We ordered everything she suggested and it was easily the best meal we had on our trip. Delicious!

This was by far among our top dining experiences anywhere. Absolutely beautiful atmosphere and from start to finish the staff and food were amazing! We were asked at check in if we were celebrating anything special. We told them that it was our anniversary and the very sweet hostess immediately got excited. The next thing we knew, complementary champagne was delivered to our table by the manager. Our waiter was extremely friendly and helpful with menu suggestions. Each person that came to the table to fill our water or clear our plates was so genuinely pleasant. All smiles!…. And the food-AH-MAZ-ING!! I got the Happy Chicken-a special brought over from the bar and my husband got the Hanger Steak. Oh, and I can’t forget the bread!! Don’t pass on the bread! When the meal was finished we passed on dessert but our waiter told us to stick around for a little while. After a minute, two smiling servers brought us a piece of desert and well wishes. I can’t say enough good things about this restaurant. Go check them out!!

This hidden-away oasis is a gem in a part of town that lacks beautiful, high quality restaurants. It's a beautiful space, the food was delicious, and our waiter, Chris, could not have been more welcoming, cordial, and knowledgable. Big plus: the music is played at a low volume so my friend and I could enjoy our conversation. No thumping speakers.

Came here tonight for my 30th birthday with my mum for a trip to NYC (we’re from the UK). We were served by Samir and what a lovely guy! He was friendly from the get go, said happy birthday to me straight away, recommended the duck and octopus which we had which were divine! We then shared a tiramisu which he brought out with a candle and said it was on the house so didn’t have to pay for it either. All around the staff were extremely friendly and welcoming but Samir went above and beyond to converse with us and make it that bit more personal.

Altair's was a perfect find last night upon checking into Element Hotel 1 block away. Besides the restaurant there is the full bar with seating and there is also an extended space to enjoy delicious plates of a variety of foods. Cliff provided excellent service during our encounter there, always vigilant to our every need. Between the excellent service and delectable food, we enjoyed a perfectly enjoyable evening there.

Our waiter, Fernando, was incredibly kind and attentive. He recommended the breakfast sandwich, which was fantastic. The greenhouse like dining area was a charming and relaxing place to drink a cup of coffee to start the day.

Food and service were lovely! Juan took super good care of us :) I came with literally the most gorgeous woman in the world, and Juan created an atmosphere most deserving of her company.

We had such a great experience at Altair in the Arlo Midtown, thanks to Deandra and Sara. While we were waiting for our room, they noticed us sitting nearby (the restaurant is right next to the front desk) and went out of their way to look after us. Deandra even brought us an elevator key so we could relax on a secluded rooftop deck, the view was incredible and we had it all to ourselves. The next morning at brunch, Deandra recognized us right away and asked how we were settling in and if we’d gotten enough rest. It wasn’t just polite small talk , it felt very genuine, like she actually cared. Sara was equally attentive and nice, and both of them made us feel completely looked after. Too often, people only take the time to write reviews when something goes wrong, but service this thoughtful and personal deserves recognition. Deandra and Sara turned what could have been a frustrating wait into one of the highlights of our stay. Altair and the Arlo are lucky to have them!

Emmanuel in the Altair coffee shop made me an amazing cop of coffee!!! He was so professional barista, helpful, knowledgeable and very king and funny!!! You have to try his coffee!!!

Breakfast at the Arlo restaurant was excellent — fresh, flavorful and beautifully presented. The service was warm and attentive, and Benito made the experience even better with his friendly and professional attitude. Truly a great start to the day.

Visited Altair with three friends last night and had the best time. Our server Troy was the best. He was super informative about the menu and so personable too. The restaurant was gorgeous and so were each of the cocktails we had which were uniquely crafted to reflect either earth, air, fire or water which was so creative and thought out. We started with a dinner roll which was a must and went on to try the eggplant, tomatoes and endive and melon salad which everyone loved. I got the Bass for dinner which was decadent and so flavorful and my boyfriend opted for the hangar steak which he loved. Definitely a spot I want to come back to. High recommend!

We were staying at the Arlo Midtown where this restaurant is located snd decided try it for dinner. The setting is very nice and the server did a very good job. BUT, the menu is very limited, expensive, and worst of all, the food was bad. My wife ordered the steak and I had the bucatini pasta. The food came so fast that we guessed it had been pre-cooked and just re-heated. Both items were very spicy which took away from the steak and the pasta. We will not return and do not recommend it.

This place was a last minute find, but it totally exceeded our expectations. Their cocktails are phenomenal, service was impeccable, and the food was amazing! Our waiter Anil was very helpful, courteous, and personable. Overall, we had an unexpectedly wonderful experience!

Food is nice and comes in big portions. Everyone is super nice from the hosts to the runners, especially our server Alexc! Would eat here again!

Breakfast with the vouchers was uncomplicated. The staff is friendly and helpful. We can only praise our favorite "breakfast waiter" Sujay. Good Job. The evening on the roof terrace was also great. From the warm welcome to the drinks and food, everything is highly recommended.

I went to the coffee shop/cafe everyday for a hot chocolate, absolutely delicious and Emmanuel O. was so nice every time! That man deserves a raise. Can’t wait to come back.

From start to finish my lunch at Altair was seamless. Friendly host, quick check in, water, and drink on the table within a few moments. I got the Hamachi, Duck, and Tiramisu. Every dish was layered with flavor and the staff was very attentive and warm. Sarah was especially delightful :)

I had lunch today with some friends. The menu nn was bad although rather limited. Unfortunately annoying service with insistent waiter and who seemed to tease us given our nn perfect pronunciation. After 1h30 they let us out justifying the closure with unreasonable change of time tomorrow... Exaggerated price but especially in NYC there is better but tantooooo

We stayed at the Arlo Hotel, in the same building, and had breakfast there. It was one of the best breakfasts I’ve had in New York. The atmosphere was great, and the staff were excellent. Sojay, the gentleman who served us, was very supportive and kind—he spent plenty of time explaining the menu to us. The coffee was hot and delicious, and they refilled it as much as we wanted. Prices are reasonable as well. I’ll definitely come back tomorrow for breakfast!

Great place for a quiet lunch. Loved the pumpkin roll bread. Small lunch menu (bigger for dinner) was still broad enough to satisfy. Service was very personable and friendly. Isabella (our server) took charge and treated us like friends. Surprisingly good.

Best hotel in a restaurant I’ve been to. Great service from Petra. Some of the best and most creative cocktails in the city. Top top notch food. Just an unexpectedly great experience in every way. Seasonal corn pasta and hazelnut tiramisu were the highlights.

We were not staying at the Arlo Midtown where Altair is located but we went there for breakfast twice. It was very good and reasonably priced. The service was excellent. The atmosphere is calm and relaxing and the decor is very nice. We would have liked to have had dinner there but our schedule didn't allow for it. Next time...

My wife and I were served by Mike. He was very quick and knowledgeable. He made us feel very welcome with fun conversation that kept the bar from feeling stale and bland as most hotel bars can be. We visit NY every year and we plan on returning here. Thank you for the entertainment Mike.

Mike was amazing! Me and my girlfriend came in randomly and because of his great service Will Be casuals going forward. He knows his drinks very well and was able to be spot on about what we may like. The atmosphere of the establishment is amazing and gives a calm and steady speakeasy vibe. I had one of the best experiences at the Arlo midtown restaurant. I’m currently staying here for a week for business. Deandra was so accommodating. She noticed i was exhausted from a red eye and made a point for me to have a nice experience at the hotel restaurant as i waited for our room. I would 100% stay here again, every single staff member is extremely nice and accommodating. Food and coffee is also yummy. Great Job to the Arlo team for having such a professional and hospitable staff.

When we arrived at the bar the F&B Manager Miguel seated us right away. As the night went on we were attentively attended to by the lovely Kira, our Bartender Rogelio and Steven. The drinks were amazing and such a fun experience. I can’t wait to go again!

Atmosphere is incredibly fun and chil, yet elegant. The staff is super attentive, yet relaxed. We enjoyed the delicata squash and pumpkin roll to start. Flavors were bright. Hanger steak and sea bass entrees were incredible

The hotel was perfect just as usual! The morning breakfast seeing happy and friendly Alexl started the day with much joy and perfect service getting me and my family ready for the day. Overall service was perfect and we will remember Alexl for a lifetime! Thanks Alexl

This place is quiet and intimate, the atmosphere is good. For the kitchen we tried all the dishes , they are delicious and hearty. We were served several times by Alex L. Who is as kind as effective!!!

We are visiting New York from England it’s a chilled and comfortable atmosphere in the Arlo hotel. Melanie & Vlada have been friendly & helpful in the restaurant. We have only used the restaurant for drinks in the morning and evening before and after exploring New York its self.

I came here with a couple of my colleagues from work. The cocktails are very good. I had the Tumeric and the Evoo Martini. Some of my colleagues went for beer and some classic. However, my bartender Steven was amazing and elegant with the way he shakes those cocktails. A really good bartender and the way he moves behind that bar, amazes me. I’ll definitely come back again to visit him and the establishment.

Sujay was great as a server! Our food was delicious, the pan con tomate was especially great if you're into a sunny side up eggs Benedict type situation. Atmosphere was great and the location is beautiful.
