We loved the simplicity of this restaurant. Our waiter was knowledgeable, helpful and led us to make great choices. We had homemade lobster raviolis which were amazing, simple tasty salads and then the veal Ossobuco, which was very tender and melted in our mouths and the black squid seafood pasta which was very yummy. A great find.

Angeletto is an attractive restaurant with dining spread around in several smaller spaces. Wait staff were pleasant, and the food was good, but not stellar. We ordered salads to start (arugula and one with beets) and then the veal scaloppine with carrots and cubed roast potatoes. Service between first and main course was on the slow side.

Dinned here with friends - thought the place was nice and the food was good. The starters were nice, we ordered the bruschetta platter and the calamari - both I highly recommend ordering. They tasted 10/10 and were easy to share! For the mains, one of us had the chickpea gnocchi which were amazing, someone else had the ricotta and spinach ravioli that were great but the portion size was not super big (usual for ravioli - don't order if you're super hungry). Another one of us had the Scalopina di Pollo, was yummy and the perfect portion size. I had the Zucchini Salad which I unfortunately can not recommend. One comment I would have is that despite kind service they are not super flexible on dietary restrictions which can make ordering hard for some... In total the table ordered two alcoholic drinks - negroni - which tasted amazing! The price was more than fair :).

Homemade pasta to die for. The vegetable lasagna was out of this world. Friendly attentive service. I would go back again and again. We were given a complimentary shot of limoncello which topped off the meal perfectly.

I visited with a group on a slow Sunday afternoon. The food was wonderful but the service left a little to be desired. They were very slow and non-verbal. I understand and appreciate an unrushed leisurely meal, but you should have to wait for long periods of time on everything and ask more then once for the check. I trust it was just an off day for the staff but with the competition in NYC you can't risk losing potential return business.

Arrived late Sunday afternoon in NYC and found Angeletto on Yelp (sorry Trip Advisor). We had a fabulous meal from start to finish. Started with a complimentary olive bruschetta, and then ordered the beef carpaccio, spaghetti Aglio olio, and a side of broccoli rabe. Each course was outstanding. What I loved most was the staff and atmosphere. The staff were wonderful and attentive, but the atmosphere was perfect. We enjoyed a wonderful table near the window and we were actually able to sit with friends to enjoy dinner and conversation. So often we go to restaurants and the noise level in the restaurant is so loud that you can’t carry on a conversation without yelling, not at Angeletto’s, it was so enjoyable. I highly recommend Angeletto.

We had a lovely meal here, we had lasagna, salmon, wine/lasagne and coffee, It was midweek and the restaurant was quiet, staff were lovely, and the service very professional.

I just had the most delicious meal in ages. This restaurant is an intimate space with a brick wall and cloth covered tables. The specialty is Roman Italian dishes. Everything from appetizer to salad to entree to coffee is fresh and superb. The pasta is homemade. The presentation is beautiful. The service is divine. And the prices are reasonable, to boot. We were three, celebrating one's birthday. The manager Mona and waiter treated us like royalty, even treating us to extra dishes. There is a larger version on 47th and Second, but this one on 19th is the perfect spot for a date or get- together with friends where you can actually hear each other. No tacky TV or Musak. This is a new location--run, don't walk here before the crowds discover it!

Four of us were celebrating my daughter’s graduation. These folks made us feel so special. The food, wine, cocktails and aperitifs were great. Very authentic Italian.

An absolutely fantastic experience thanks to staff and owner who could not do enough for us! Made the perfect Irish coffee and limoncello!!! Highly recommended

We usually travel to NYC from Montreal 3-4 weekends each year, but this was our first trip in 18 months as a result of COVID. The meal at Angeletto was on our first night back and we right away found the tasteful and friendly New York we have come to appreciate so much. We both had fish which was fresh and good, when our server Ollie (I hope I am spelling her name correctly, she was great!) saw that I was not a fan of olives, she offered to have my fish prepared differently than my wife’s and both versions were excellent. We will return without fail on our next trip. They also had the perfect Pinot Noir for fish on a rainy night, the reasonably priced “Rainstorm’ from Oregon. The sides of brocoli rabe and spinach were also both very good.

Wow. Very expensive and terrible taste. Pasta was horrible. Salad was nothing. Calamari no taste.tomatoes were mushy.bruscetta was so hard couldnt eat it. What nerve to charge what they do and get terrible food. Never again.

Wanted some pasta the night before the NYC Marathon. We had a 7:30 Reservation and the place felt very empty but were very slow to be seated. They also walked two groups that showed up withour a reservation. We had a crummy table way in the back by the kitchen entrance. It seemed there were many "regulars" there and a good contingent of Italians on vacation in NYC. Table was not made up when seated. Water/Bread was not delivered until after we ordered which was a solid 15 minutes. Service was very slow--our food came out before the people who had ordered before we got there--they were not happy about it. Pasta was cooked perfectly. Wife's salad was pretty small and they would not accomodate modifications. Italian in NYC is extremely competitive. Hard to see how this place would stand out. Felt old fashioned but not in a good way.

If I could give this a zero rating I would. It's unbelievable that in this city with thousands of Italian restaurants this one is actually in business. We chose to go there after reading the excellent reviews on Yelp, but the chef was clearly either away from work or drunk. The waiters were attentive and helpful -- that's about all that was positive. We ordered involtini di melanzane (grilled eggplant rolls with chickpea cream), which we thought would be a nice change from the usual burrata, etc. It was difficult to eat, but somehow we had a couple of pieces -- the eggplant was tasteless, and the "chickpea cream" was bland and dry. Next we had mussels in white wine and "trofie pasta with pesto, green beans, cherry tomatoes, and pecorino cheese" (no mention of potatoes in the description). The mussels would have been fine, but the broth was so salty that it completely spoiled the taste. The pasta had pesto from a bottle, green beans from a can, and chunks of potato -- along with a single sprig of microgreen for style. This so-called Italian restaurant couldn't even produce a decent plate of pasta. Go somewhere else -- or call ahead to check that the chef is on duty.

Picked this restaurant as it was very close to where we were staying. Walked in and first impressions are great. Beautiful looking place. Money was invested here. Could tell that things were new. Nobody at front desk to greet us. Had to wait several minutes until someone approached. Waiters passed and bartender was close by, but nobody acknowledged we were here. Finally the manager came by and seated us. Well then we sat there for quite sometime before anyone approached. Finally they came by to fill the glasses with water. Little while later bread was placed on table along with bruschetta. No olive oil which was suppose to be served along with it. But still no waiter to welcome us or take our drink order. Not a good start. Finally the waiter appears...about 15-20 minutes after being seated. He did apologize for the wait and took our drink order. We finally ordered. My wife had the tagliolini with zucchini and basil. I ordered the rigatoni carbonara. Food came within a reasonable amount of time and both dishes were excellent. Waited a little while to order desert. We had fresh strawberries with zabaglione. The presentation was great and was delicious. Finished that and sat for the longest time before anyone approached. During this time two couples, separate tables near to us were heard complaining to the female hostess and then to Austin who I believe was the manager. Couldn't hear everything but believe it was due to the service. You could hear the customer getting louder and Austin even raising his voice. Not a good sign for a new restaurant. Well about 20 minutes go by and Austin appears. He asks if we would like more coffee and I tell him no and that we have been waiting a long time to get the check. Instead of apologizing, he leaves and finally a check appears. It appears that they did not have enough staff and instead of letting people know that it will take a while they just let them sit there which pisses people off. Austin should have managed that better walking the room and apologizing. Shame as the place is beautiful, food is excellent but if you can service properly, your business will not last

We went to Angeleno for first time last week. We were stay nearby at Hilton One UN Plaza on 44th/1st and the restaurant was 2 blocks away. The chef is from Italy and his food was very authentic and flavorful. The service from Alberto, Olie, and Orletto was first class. The restaurant has a beautiful decor and definitely worth a visit if you like great Italian food.

Four of us recently visited Angeletto’s Restaurant in at 890 2nd Avenue in New York on 2/1/19. Right from the start we were warmly greeted by the coat clerk who immediately met us at the front door. We were then led to our table by the co-manager and handed a menu and a wine list. Maybe not unusual for a New York Restaurant, except for the warm and genuine welcoming feeling conveyed. The four of us ordered an appetizer of an assortment of pastas. Rather than allowing us to go forward with a too large appetizer the manager intervened and suggested we go with less because we would likely kill our appetite for the main meal. We all ordered house specials. The meals were excellent. At the end of our evening, the co-manager Babu (sp?)offered us house-made limoncello “on the house ”. It was an excellent ending to an excellent dining experience. We highly recommend this New York dining experience.

Excellent. From impeccable service to amazing italian cuisine, the experience was memorable. I will certainly return the next time I'm in New York. This is an upscale Italian experience, great for business dinners, or special occasions.

From the moment we stepped in from the wintery 2nd Ave. wind, we were warmly greeted and treated like royalty. The best service I have had in years!!! And then the menu! BEYOND wonderful. Fresh salad and had the Dover Sole special that melted in my mouth! So full of flavor. Then desert-Tiramisu for sure-simply the best I have ever had! This experience from beginning to end was a highlight of my recent trip to NYC!!

This lovely Italian restaurant was recommended to us by some friends in NY.The moment you set your foot inside the door, you feel at home! The food is delicious, and the wine is tasty. This is the place to treat your better half, or gather your friends to wine and dine! The staff is amazing, and the service is excellent❤️ Can’t wait to visit this restaurant the next time we’re in NY. Thanks to Austin and the rest of the guys, for some unforgettable evenings!! Highly recommended! Jane and Jan,Norway.

Heard great things and that's what brought me there. Very friendly on the whole. Nice ambiance. The food was above average. However, I ordered the special: baby lamb chops. "What's the side?" Spinach. "Can I get a side of pasta?" "The chef won't do that," the waiter retorts. Okay. I don't like spinach. "I'll see if I can get you broccoli rabe instead," the waiter extending himself with a favor I'm meant to notice. Nice presentation. I asked for mint jelly. The waiter didn't know what I meant. I told him to ask the chef. The waiter came back and, with a sniff, informed me that the chef doesn't like mint jelly with lamb chops. "Yeah," I replied, "but he's not eating it. I am." They were good. My wife asked about the veal francese and asked if they can make chicken francese? No. Veal only. So, I guess I'm not used to inflexibility when I go somewhere to eat. The place ain't cheap. If you go, find out what's on the menu and you better like it. They certainly don't do it your way!

This restaurant was recommended by a friend when we were in town - and we weren't dissapointed. Food was great - we were given good tips by the waiter on portions and wine. His service was fantastic throughout - attentive and chatty but not too much to disturb our evening. Given the hussle and bussle of new york, the atmosphere / ambience in here was one of relaxation and style. Highly recommended

The new menegement has done an excellent job renovating and making this place so elegant, comfortable and very friendly.Had lunch and dinner with some of my dear friends before I left for Europe. The food was delisous ,presentation was so pleasing to the 5 sences ,very professional and friendly stuff working there. Looking forward to visit this place again next year.Highly recommend ,go and enjoy the atmosphere and food.Thank you .

This place being around the corner from me, I've watched its reincarnations for years. First, it was Nino's – overpriced mediocrity, then it closed and reopened as Chazz Palminteri (of Soprano fame) where food was better but service was abysmally bad, so I was not surprised to see it go quickly. I watched the preparations for the next appearance with interest: I always want to know about the good places to eat in my neighborhood, don't you? And of course, I had to try it, soon after it opened, to make up my mind. I am happy to report that Angeletto is certainly an improvement over the previous two versions. To begin with, its pretty, especially the outside area, with the bistro-style chairs and white table clothes, surrounded by refreshing greenery and flower pots. I am promptly seated and provided with menu and wine list, as requested. It's a very late lunch (4PM) and there is only one other table occupied. Good quality bread and Olive oil arrive soon and I order. The mixed salad is fresh and served as requested, dressing on the side. I forgive them the misspelling, maybe they'll fix it in the next edition of the Menu. Prosecco is a generous chilled glass but quite overpriced at $14. The baked salmon (Salmone al forno) with green beans is delicious: it arrives served on the skin side which is crunchy and appealing, I cannot resist it, even though I normally avoid fish skin because of the high fat content. Service is consistently attentive and prompt, no rush to get you out, no unnecessary familiarity, and no music in the background (the biggest enemy of restaurant food enjoyment, in my opinion). All in all, I will be back over and over again.

I live in NYC and understand that for a good dinner you sometimes have to spend a little extra. This restaurant was a complete rip off. Here are the bullet points. -took 15 minutes for someone to even come and say hello at our table. - took another 20 minutes to get our wine. -Salad was like something from a 7/11 or gas station - my wife ordered the risotto which she enjoyed. -Waiter recommended the veal special, I ordered it medium, it came rarer than rare. I asked them to cook it further, then waited another 20 minutes for the food to return. My wife had already finished her food by the time mine arrived. -Veal was still under cooked, was cold, and not a high quality cut of meat. I told the server it wasn’t very good and he said “You should order a pasta next time.” -when the bill came the Veal special was charged at $60. -Place is bad bad bad bad bad bad bad!!!! -Go to the Palm Too for better pasta or the Ambassador Grill at the Hilton UN for a better steak and far better service!

We visited on a busy Friday evening whilst staying around the corner two blocks away at Millennium Hilton . Service was excellent from start to finish . We brought bread orders for food drink taken specials explained to us . I had chicken Marsala which was Beth good plenty of potatoes chicken veg in a very good wine sauce . Others had lasagna pasta all very good . Deserts were very good Choclate mouse excellent as was tiramisu and Ice cream . Overall excellent food service only slight downside for me price of alcohol very expensive the most expensive gin & tonic I have ever had at 16 dollars .

Absolutely great, very formal feel, yet friendly, Generio,, was the most amazing waiter we have had there, so friendly, so warm and welcoming, we adored him, We love this place most on a Saturday Night, when they have fantastic Opera Singers, it really feels like we are away for the night in Italy, The Chef is from Rome, his food is spectacular, the fish is outstanding, as are the pasta dishes, and chicken, desserts are great, We really love this spot, its fun, a bit formal, yet soooo friendly

A friend brought me for dinner at this resturant and I liked the meal. The lamb was succulent and the service good. I returned the next day for lunch but was not given the attention I expected. Ordered risotto and it was okey. I fair place to have a meal in NYC.

This upscale but very comfortable restaurant served delicious food and fabulous tasty drinks. There was about 16 of us there for an after party, and each one of us felt at home. Great for a couple or several people to dine. Go, enjoy!

What a wonderful restaurant. Had lunch there a few days ago and could not be more impressed with this new addition to the UES. The service from start to finish was flawless, and the food is well prepared and delicious. If you're a fan of deserts you must try the Tiramisu -- a unique and wonderful interpretation that's not too sweet, but totally satisfying. Highly recommend.

Beautiful restaurant and fantastic food. The Fruits de Mar was the best I've ever had, the Lasagna was great and the homemade Raspberry Sorbet was out of this world. The wait staff was very attentive, knowledgeable and made my out of town guests feel very comfortable. The owner even came by our table, first to welcome us and then to hear about our dining experience. It was a wonderful time for my guests and I!

Real Italian restaurant. You can breathe Italian style in the dishes. Excellent amatriciana and appetizer. Friendly staff, lovely place. Worth trying especially for the quality/price ratio in NY

The gluten free homemade pasta was amazing. This restaurant goes out of its way to make you feel comfortable and at home. Ask for Gino, he gave a big serving of charm along with the food!

Great service, nice atmosphere and superb food. It was a Sunday night and I just needed some Italian Comfort Food. The Risotto Al Fruiti Di Mare which was absolutely delicious and a nice Gelato to cleanse my palate after. Definitely would go back again when I'm in the area.

Sat outside Saturday night, enjoyed the service and very good food. Friendly staff, as I guess you would expect. Thought the wine expensive but generally good value for a relatively up-market restaurant.

I have eaten at this restaurant quite a few times, and all have been good, including this time. My spaghetti dish was very good, but it would be excellent with clams instead of mussels. The lamb ragu pasta was delicious.

Verrry Italian - particularly the music. Good service, tasty food - particularly the salmon. Would be an even bigger neighborhood gem if they had good outdoor seating - unfortunately that location has too much street traffic / noise for that. Will definitely be back

Convenient to our hotel for reservations. Service and food were excellent and the pace allowed us to have a great time with our guest.

I went on a late Sunday night, looking for a place to eat my last meal in NY! What a surprise! The attention, incredible , the food amazing and the BEST COSMOPOLITANS and service from GINO!

If you are looking for excellent neighbourhood Italian food in Midtown East with a very friendly atmosphere, this is the place to go!

It's a recent addition to the neighborhood: I checked it promptly soon after it opened and I liked it a lot. A couple of nights ago I decided to re-visit, to make sure my first impression was right. And I found it even better, if possible. The Italian cook, Davide, is fabulous: baked salmon, shrimp in brandy sauce with cherry tomatoes & cannellini, spaguetti alio olio, branzino in salt crust, all delicious and plenty, extensive wine list with the house Prosecco being Mionnetto, excellent choice and priced right. Attentive and friendly service. I just hope they do something about the outside tables, they are dancing non stop.

I liked quite a bit about this place. A very nice menu with several classic Italian choices and nightly specials. They make their own pasta in house too. The menu items are reasonably priced for New York, with a nice wine selection too (that was a bit pricey, for this level of restaurant). The service was excellent. I had lobster ravioli which was very good. The minestrone was just ok. Nice Italian bread to start. Excellent tiramisu.

This wonderful restaurant was a gem of a find as my wife and I wanted a fantastis Italian dinner and we liked the reviews on Open Table. Classy interior. Our waiter, Gente, was fabulous! The home-made pasta was devine! Try the Italian Sausage spagehetti with lemon sauce, you won't believe how delicious this is. And the Limoncello shots were a perfect way to end this splendid dining experience! As the saying goes... "Try it, you'll love it!"

Plans changed last minute during our first night in the city, so we weren't sure where to grab dinner. After several unsuccessful calls due to booked restaurants, we came across an open reservation at Angeletto's. We were hesitant at first due to very few reviews, but decided to give it a chance. SO glad we did! The homemade Italian pasta was incredible, and the wine selection was great for pairing as well. The service was efficient, and the manager checked in with each table. We even received glasses of wine on the house! I can't say enough good things about Angeletto's. Highly recommended!

From the attentive service from staff to the amazing house-made pasta they serve this is a must visit in the area if you're looking for great Italian dishes. They also have greek on the menu as well! Will definitely be coming back

My husband and I were looking forward to dining here again and it did not disappoint! The service and food were excellent, from appetizers to dessert!

A new neighborhood arrival has provided traditional Italian food and service by opening a very pretty Angeletto, The bar provides an additional seating and dinning area as well as a decent selection of wines and liquors. Food throughout the menu represents a menu with a concentration on well known Italian favorites, but the kitchen is also willing too makes diners happy. Service is attentive with the wait-staff willing to engage in consultation on making the dinning experience perfect.

Incredible food, amazing service and location. Great space for private parties. This a must go place. The homemade pasta melts in your mouth. The Chef has been proposed to many times! Great location on 2nd between 47th and 48th. The decor is simply fabulous, you can tell it was decorated with extraordinary care. The founders of the restaurant are from the Waldorf Astoria and are incredible hosts. Angeletto s! Amazing! ❤️

Went today on a lunch date. I had a reservation and we were there on time. We were greeted at the door and were promptly seated. The waiter came at service right away and told us about Today's specials. I ordered Lamb Chops and my date ordered Monkfish with Shrimps & Mussels. The chops were very good and juicy. But it took them forever to get the food our food. The wine that we ordered was perfect. Mind well this was for a lunch so we didn't have all the time in the world to be just sitting there. I had to tell 3 different people for check before I saw one. I paid cash and it took them equivalent time to get my change. Ambience: Very soothing, professional. Food: Amazing Service: Mediocre

Another Italian"look alike" restaurant with an Albanian chef and not one Italian member of the staff. The New York Italian restaurant scene is now far from what it was 20 years ago when Italian chefs and Owners alike were serving the real taste of Italy.
Pretty room and light, fresh food but indifferent service.
Walking in, we were relieved by the inviting calm dining room. The maitre d' was rather indifferent, but it didn't matter--our table was lovely and we were not overly hungry. The waiter brought tasty bruschetta with eggplant while we looked over the menu. Our salad and pasta courses were delicious with fresh summer vegetables and light sauces appropriate to the heat outside. Service was fine if not exceptional, and nothing was overlooked. Dessert was taken out front at the restaurant's exceptional gelato stand . A nice quiet neighborhood spot to be appreciated.
