Good Brunch Spot

By Karen R |

Went to Antique Garage in Soho for brunch before shopping. Good thing we made reservations; it got very busy and with good reason! A piano player was playing nice live music that was a good volume so conversation could be had. Food was delicious-cheese "rolls" (don't know the name),lamb skewers and a delicious tzatziki dip, and stuffed apricots for dessert. The only criticism- if the apricots are stuffed, why not take out the pit when stuffing them? Bit into one and the pit broke into many little pieces that could pose a choking hazard. Or at least give a heads up that the pit is still in. A couple of brunch cocktails and off to shop .

Nice restaurant/bar - Worth a visit

By Jean B |

Surprisingly nice. Mix of restaurant and bar, Delicious Turkish food, good drinks and wines and good service. Decor is nice. Welcoming and good option to go as a couple or friends. Live jazz band some nights.

Great find for late lunch with girlfriends while shopping in Soho

By lizzy632 |

We were lucky to only wait ten minutes for a table while listening to a fabulous jazz trio playing in this small vibrant restaurant. With unusually warm weather the garage door was up and we three ladies sat outside under some heaters. Service was friendly from start to finish. Food was fresh and so hit the spot after walking the Highline and shopping up a storm.

Mediocre and Overpriced

By Voyage434619 |

In spite of the pretense, this is basically just a below-average Turkish restaurant dressed up as a Brooklyn bistro from ten years ago. Mezze were not good and presented awkwardly (a precious row of tiny modernist bowls instead of a standard platter made the whole thing seem cold, and a small issue but they failed to provide utencils for each dip). One of them was a tiny portion of a weird cold chicken salad - it just didn't work. At ~$30 per entree for stuff like a lamb kebab sandwich with fries, I expected something special, but it wasn't even particularly good. Ground lamb was dry and overcooked. I've had much better Turkish food at half the price. Felt like a tourist trap for people who want to feel rich after their Soho shopping.

Charming dinner spot

By caryn1958 |

Charming casual decor and all ages of dinner well represented. Loved the live piano and appreciated the small bar which we were seated near. Very accommodating hostess was able to change our dinner times 2x even though they looked quite full. Mediterranean leaning menu with lots of great share plates. Be sh Ire to taste lots of different spiced dishes

Great atmosphere, good food

By carwillo |

We ate here as it was close to where we were staying. It was originally a garage (hence the name) and like so many New York restaurants the room was amazing. We had a very talented woman playing the piano the night we were there which really added to the atmosphere. Food was pretty good and served in generous portions. Friendly service as well made for a lovely night.

Nice decor and typical NYC

By picolina |

A nice place in Soho to sit down and rest your feet, especially if there's live jazz (not sure how often this happens, we just happen to stumble on it). The food though seems average and service is indifferent. It could be good to just get a drink and some light Mediterranean finger food. Seem to be packed with tourists, the setting of this restaurant is what makes it stand apart, even in a city such as NYC.

one of my favorite restaurants in NYC

By Anna-Christina S |

I walked around in Soho the other day and found this cute restaurant. It looks adorable from the outside and even cuter from the inside. Very nice atmosphere and love to music. I thought I would give it a try and I am in love with this place ever since. My boyfriend and I are going there now almost every other week. The food is fantastic. Their seafood dishes are breath taking and I always have to order the halloumi appetizer as well. great great great!!!! a must visit! also a great spot for a date ;)

Perfect solo late (vegan) lunch in Soho

By Gerard S |

The Antique Garage is an institution in SoHo. It offers mediterranean cuisine and that makes it delicious and healthy for all types of lifestyles. Saturday brunches are often accompanied by live jazz music. Service is friendly and competent. Overall excellent experience.

lunch

the menu is limited but the quality of food is great!! you can enjoy your meal with jazz music and positive atmosphere. i would definitely recommend baby lamb chops and adana kebap.

Great cocktails and excellent food!

By RedYoga |

Beautiful decor, excellent cocktails (we had the Manhattan, which is a slightly different recipe than typical), and excellent meze platter. Highly recommended!

Won't be repeated

By Peter B |

Only one of the five ordered dishes was flavorful and tasty. The rest was either wrong or flat and boring. Sarma was way too salty, ceviche was all sauce, no fish (if I order a ceviche, I want to taste the fish), spring rolls were completely uninteresting... Only the chicken liver cubes were worthy of flavorful Turkish cuisine tradition. The place is cute, but noisy, the pianist was terrible and the service confused. They have so many servers, yet no consistent service. Only one restroom, so people line up and get in the way of servers - just a mess. I wonder how this place survived. Apparently the clientele is paying more attention to the decor than to the food. And it's massively overpriced, considering the quality delivered.

Pleasant lunch with an open air feel

By GraSueCraig |

Visiting the SOHO area and looking for a spot for lunch, a nearby shop recommended Antique Garage and we were not disappointed. With the front of the restaurant open to the air, interesting antique decor and a charming mix of vintage dinnerware on the tables, we found the atmosphere delightful. Our server was very helpful and we shared a veggie pizette with thin crust, mozzarella, mushrooms, artichokes, zucchini and tomatoes which was delicious. The crispy calamari was not so crispy but still good including the dip.

Positive experience

By anerlli |

We came here as th neighboring Italian restaurant we were heading for was closed due to private function. The staff was friendly no professional and the food was delicious. Everything was tasty and fresh. I had the branzino and the other dinner the lamb burger. Mains were wonderful sides ( fires, salad mediocre). Starters of tzaiki and essentially green salad were excellent and the bread terrific. Nice eclectic at,Sooners and refreshingly unhip

Very good food and service, a bit dull atmosphere

By Alex C |

Everything is in the title, I think this restaurant has great potential given its location, cuisine and service if it invested a little in decor, light etc. It is a menu of Greek and Turkish dishes, correct and the dishes are delicious. In NY where everything is a bit flashy we can not attract many customers as well, even if, I repeat, the content is there!

Still a great place, though staff used to be friendlier.

By AKSchlittenhardt |

Every time we travel to NYC, Antique Garage is a must visit. The food and the ambience are still outstanding and it’s one of the rare places in Soho that is frequented by locals rather than tourists. We had a great time again but recognized that for whatever reasons, the staff turned off charming mode for that day, welcome by the restaurant manager was quite cold and it was impossible to get a smile from any of the waiters. Maybe they just had a bad day, so we‘ll be back with pleasure anyway.

Another Soho NYC restaurant I enjoy having lunch

By Dragonbeast4 |

Good greek food with live muic

Awesome location, excellent food and a superb team. Just great for both, private or business occasions.

Music WAY too loud

By Erin C |

This is a small and very expensive restaurant. We chose it as 'something different' for a special occasion and were profoundly disappointed. Frankly, I couldn't wait to leave. We had a party of 7 seated at a long table right next to a 3 person 'Jazz' band which was so loud it hurt. We couldn't hear the waiter, couldn't talk to each other. It was miserable. My husband and I are well traveled and love almost all food. I did not like the food here at all. I had the filet appetizer, which I found boring. I also ordered the Shepherd's salad which was mostly chopped tomatoes and cucumber in vinaigrette for a hefty price. The atmosphere would be neat if not for the music. Other members of our party had dishes they liked, the steak for example. I can get steak somewhere much less expensive that would be just as good. I don't mind paying when the food makes it clear why it's expensive. This restaurant didn't do it for me.

This is the place for jazz brunch in New York

By einar e |

At 41 Mercer street, SoHo, you find this Turkish restaurant. Very nice people and good service. The food is good. On Sunday the live jazz sessioen starts at 1:30 pm. Several dishes of the day. Look very fresh, as the salmon we got. I had a chicken salad. Big portion, lot of different vegetables, litle to dry chicken.

Limited menu but our food was great!

By Stephanie M |

We stopped here as traffic was horrible getting out of the city. Cute little restaurant with an eclectic atmosphere. The menu is a bit limited but the 3 entrees and the appetizer our party tried were all quite good (Manti, Seafood Begendi, Mediterranean Pasta and Borek). The wait staff were very attentive and our food arrived quickly. Would recommend.

Disappointed

By jaybirdrcky |

I ordered a Halloimu salad that comes with grilled Cyprus cheese on top $18. It was very good and had a nice light dressing. Came with, maybe, homemade bread which had a nice crunch. For dessert I had (4) stuffed apricots. $10 They are stuffed with kaymak which is the thick cream from milk and an almond. The place is great inside with all the decor and VG staff and nice music. It just think it was way over priced for the size portions I got. Sorry would not go back

Meh! Ok'ish

By Sean H |

This place promised so much from the reviews, but we left somewhat disappointed. The food was ok, but portions were small. What made the biggest impression was the stiff and disinterested waiter who showed zip engagement or passion for his role or his diners....as well as the microscopic space between tables. Every time our neighbouring diners got up, they dislodged one of our plates or glasses. It's a great space in a good location and the kitchen promises much, but front of house could actually try to give a ....

Delicious brunch!

By yellowflag33 |

We walked by and spotted seating outdoor and sun spot, with a good few people out. Decided for a a meal here and what a find! delicious brunch menu, I had eggs dish with tomato and peppers, Mamman i think, and it was to die for, just what i needed that day ! It made me smile. We also asked for bread side and it was soon good, crunchy full of flavour bread. coffee quality very good. Place has a lovely vibe, interior design is nice and there is piano, etc. When we were there there was a live performance , with gentle jazz music and it fitted the place perfectly. I would go back every weekend if i could, definitely on my list next time in NY!

Too expensive for what they serve

By SO New York |

The food here is great (but casual) and the atmosphere is charming but the prices have become absurdly expensive for what they are serving. This restaurant used to be packed every night, and it had a great atmosphere, but coming out of the pandemic if feels they have taken advantage of inflation.

Must go!

By clarkpott |

We stumbled on this place and are thrilled!!! Live music, great ambience, perfect Bloody Mary! Highly recommend.

Complete Failure

By David M |

We got there on a Tuesday evening at about 8PM, and the place was very busy. A good sign? NO! The noise level was incredible-- it seemed like everyone in the place (except for the hostess) was shouting. Very unpleasant. We were seated quickly and given menus. Really attractive-sounding menus. We were both sure that there were several things that we would be happy to order, but... Nobody came to take our order. The noise level seemed to increase. I became increasingly unhappy with the situation until finally I couldn't take any more of the racket. We left without having given our order. Or been able to hear ourselves think. On this night, anyway, this was definitely NOT the place for a quiet couples dinner for people who want to relax and enjoy each other's company.

Great Restaurant,very Relaxing.

By dennisp859 |

Looking for somewhere to eat while in the area and we came across this restaurant just off the Main Street. Nice and open with a good atmosphere. restaurant has a Turkish feeling about it. While we waited for our meals a small jazz group started playing which made the afternoon all the more pleasant. Drinks served promply menu quite adequate while our meals were a good standard. Would have stayed longer and returned another day if time permitted. Would certainly go back again. Recommended

A lovely place in Soho

By Foodie |

This place was a wonderful surprise. Nice location, good food and very kind staff - I had lunch there on a sunny day and the atmosphere was lazy and cool. Definitely recommended!

Fit for a Sultan

By Rob G |

Really cool space. Three of us dropped in without a reservation on a Monday night. Live mood music, not too loud. Awesome Mediterranean cuisine and friendly staff. All three of us enjoyed our meals. The lamb was delicious as was the Turkish Pinot Noir.

Quirky and high quality

By DJM1965 |

My wife and I had lunch in this quirky and beautifully presented small restaurant in Soho. It’s is set within an old car mechanic workshop and the industrial vibe is retained with plain brick walls and cluttered artworks. Very attractive. Although not immediately apparent, the food theme is Turkish. I had a beautifully fresh, zingy salad with a side of grilled shrimp. Food was delicious, service was top drawer, and atmosphere was great. The bill was on the pricey side, but then everywhere is expensive in Manhattan. Highly recommended.

Unprofessional & unfriendly

By Thestephson |

It was not the first time that I visited the Antique Garage with my service dog and mom. Every time we were welcomed very professionally and friendly up until now. The person at the door immediately blocked our way to tell me that dogs are not allowed. When I showed the card that proves that my dog is a service dog, he called his colleague who said in an impolite way that we could come in. For me, this was the sign that we should not stay in that negative energy and I told him that we would not stay because of his attitude. It is very unfortunate this happened, because we love your place and were looking forward to the opening of your second location. We will never come back, because this attitude towards people with a service dog is unacceptable.

What a find! We loved it!

We were walking through the soho area and stumbled across this great place. Wonderful ambiance great service fantastic food! We loved everything including the music!

SoHo Ambiance at its Finest

By LPavarotti |

I was so pleased to find this fantastic little restaurant down the street from my new office. I came here with some business associates for lunch and had a great meal. The restaurant is just full of character - fairly simple in that it's just one big room, but it's dripping with charm. The exposed brick walls are hung with all sorts of artwork, and the lighting is just right to encourage you to linger a bit longer, have an espresso and enjoy being out of the office. I'm looking forward to bringing my wife here, as I think this would be a great spot for couples. In the warmer months, the front of the restaurant opens up (it's sort of a glass garage door), so you get a great sidewalk cafe effect. If you sit further back in the restaurant, towards the bar, it's darker and cozier. Wherever you sit, the food is excellent, with nice appetizers to share with the table. In fact, I made a reservation to go back to Antique Garage earlier today, and am really looking forward to another visit.

amazing ambience and wholesome food

By rehne_do |

Yes, it's expensive BUT isn't NYC supposed to be expensive? If you're ready to shell out some extra bucks, then this place offers you an amazing experience. I went there for lunch. The restaurant was fully packed, as it usually is. The food was wholesome and the ambience was picturesque. I spent there almost 1.5 hours because the place had such nice vibes.

A great find

By Kinkynoodle |

We were on our way back to JFK, so wanted to end our trip on a high and find a good restaurant. we certainly did that. The welcome was warm, and they found us a great seat with room for us to store our bags. The front opens on to the street and the people watching abilities was just excellent. We ordered a bottle of Pinot Grigio and although the waitress struggled to open the bottle (she thought it was screw top, when it was a cork !), it was all done in good humour. We ordered from the specials, and they certainly were. The seafood begendi in particular was great. A super way to end our holiday.

Great!!!

By Carmen T |

Lots of vegetarian/vegan options. The food was really good and the portions were appropriate. The service: A+. The place was kind of busy and eventhough we got great service.

Don't overlook this soho restaurant

By Saudiologist |

Excellent food, service, atmosphere and ambience!! Hidden gem! Sunday brunch jazz. Farm to table menu that changes with the season!! Enjoy!

2nd time to visit!! Still incredible!!

By Bryan S |

Visited this SoHo gem for the second time, and it was just as wonderful as we remembered. We were lucky enough to get a lunch seat with no reservation, but I wouldn't recommend pressing your luck. Food is awesome, service is excellent, and the location with open front is tough to beat!!!

Cool spot with great lamb dishes

By boltuprightCanada |

Turkish infused menu with some amazing lamb dishes. Cozy place with lots of energy spilling onto the street. Very good find in SOHO

Stumbled across this place... great food and wine!

By Gillian K |

This is a lovely cosy restaurant. We were looking for food when we spotted the sign outside so we decided to ask if there was a table available and to our luck they had a space for us, although it was booked for 8.30pm... I think we arrived at 7.30pm (so it may be best to book during busy months to guarantee your seat). The staff were very friendly, and recommended dishes and wine (Turkish) that we enjoyed, and we had a nice time chatting to them about the restaurants set-up. There was lovely atmosphere with a piano/guitar player playing live music in the corner. This place would be lovely to see in the summer when they must open the old roller garage door out to the street :)

Dinner

By Mr. Fabulous |

I had dinner here at the invite of a friend. Good was ok nothing special why it was overpriced but this is soho and it's a place that gives the illusion of young people in the scene or want to be seen. Wine and jalipenio margaritas were good.

Nice atmosphere & great food

By NYTrvlGal2014 |

Nice atmosphere and convenient Soho location with live music (piano player) This place is small and get get crowded and a little loud --- so not right for a night of private conversation or a business meeting. Mezze platter is delicious, as was the salmon dinner. Service a little lacking, but may have been because it was a very busy night... they rushed to take our plates and drink glasses-even with my associate's wine glass not yet empty. Still, would go back for delicious food and atmosphere.

Tribeca Church street place not up to par

By ShariNyc_Ny |

We met good friends for dinner there last weekend. And although we have been to the Soho location, we decided to try the new place on Church Street. The service was awful. They had an issue with the kitchen and it took over two hours for dinner to arrive after ordering. Although we had ordered appetizers, we were long done with them and still waiting. The waiter brought a salad for all the tables in the meantime, however the salad was not edible, it was loaded with pepper corns, it went untouched. The food once it came out was ok, portions very small, service was so-so, and I would not go back there again.

Best brunch on the planet

By JJK13 |

This restaurant is so quaint. Food is awesome. Turkish/Mediterranean. Doors open in the summer. Great live jazz playing for brunch. Mixed china. Great Bloody Mary’s. Our little place. Won’t take the kids or even friends. Just us. Love it.

Nice ambience, shame about the service

By Karlloss |

We stumbled across the Antique Garage and decided to eat their as it looked unique and inviting. Whilst the food was plentiful and great tasting the service was extremely slow and we had to ask more than once for them to bring the drinks order, as they forgot. On paying the bill we left a 10% tip, the waiter had the audacity to ask us to pay a bigger tip of 15%, which we did. However in hind sight we should have not paid anywhere near 15%. A tip should reflect the level of service, with poor service a poor tip should be expected (or none at all!).

A soho gem!

By CarlaEb |

The place is super charming with its brick walls, French decor - the water jars with flowers were very cute - and when the weather is good, the open garage door gives the place a great outdoor feeling. Food was super good - we had a night special and portion and price were great. Service was super nice - a little slow - and they carry one of my fav champagne: Taittinger! A soho gem!

Perfect ambiance

By Lackerfollow |

Loved the atmosphere and the speakeasy vibe of this restaurant! Garage door opens onto the street, and the decor strikes a perfect balance of openness and light from the street and a nightclub feel. Small menu was easy to navigate (I’m a fan of less menu options in exchange for fresh Ingredients and stand out specials). Food was well prepared and tasty, but not crave worthy. Cost is on the high end of a 2 stars rating. Biggest negative was our waiter who was a bit of a meathead with limited food or wine knowledge - not negligent but out of his depth in this environment and not in tandem with the decor. Overall, a good place to take guests who care about atmosphere and like a jazz club or speakeasy environment.

Unique space for good food, drinks and music

By Royalscott |

The restaurant occupies an old garage space and is open at one end (weather permitting) We booked a table and it was a good job we did as it was very busy. It is a very gregarious space and the staff are very friendly. There was an excellent pianist and singer to keep us entertained. There was little difference between the price of wine and cocktails so why not try "A Little Tenderness" cocktail at $15. The bar steaks were well cooked and tasty but at $28 is one of the most expensive dishes on the menu. Well worth a visit for a treat.

Sunday brunch with live music !

By Jen Snow |

Eclectic, unique, romantic, and charming place in traditional old New York. Very talented musicians. Nice service. Quality food. See you next time.

Perfect place for lunch. Loved the atmosphere and the food superb.

By Stephanie K |

We happened upon this place one afternoon, took one look at the menu and immediately decided this was the place to stop. Try the veggie flatbread and the assortment of the Meze platter. The service was wonderful and the staff very knowledgeable and helpful. We could have stayed all afternoon. Antique Garage is on my visit again list. If you are in the area do yourself a favour, it will not disappoint.

Lovely atmosphere, great food!

By BERFB |

We had a quick glass of wine and a great flatbread pizza while sitting by the window. This place has tons of character and charm. The pizza was excellent and the service was very efficient. Happy to be able to sit outside and enjoy Soho in the summer!

A lovely little gem.......

By hefoje |

......... but missed the live jazz they had on the calendar. I stumbled over this place when I looked for a place with live music. It’s a lovely, and really antique, small restaurant in an old garage. Sadly we were too tired to take it all in so I will definitely visit it again although the food is average.

Turkish Mediterranean fresh

By pogginotes |

Great location. Good Mediterranean flavors Nice service and great for weekend brunch Yo know that whatever they serve you has been made moments before they bring it to the table. It was my first experience with Aegean Cuisine and loved it!

Unique restaurant with great food and a jazz pianist

By Saffron |

We stopped here for lunch while walking around Soho. We're sure glad we did. We really liked the atmosphere and the jazz pianist. Our waitress was great and gave us some tips on walking around different neighborhoods around Soho. We had beef kebab, which was delicious.

Incredibly cute and delicious restaurant

By casiopeiakv |

Very cozy restaurant, beautiful decorations that take you to another much more romantic time. Live jazz, great ambiance and delicious high end Turkish food

Loud but delicious

By Jose KN |

The sound level is a bit on the loud side and the small tables are set very close to each other, but that didn't detract from a great evening. Terrific spices, a lot of flavor. We ordered a series of appetizers(manti, halloumi, goat cheese, mezzes). And that was a lot of food. No room for desert. I must mention the very kind and efficient gentleman with the beard and tattoo (manager/host) who helped us switch tables. You made the difference.

So cozy and great food

By Gemma M |

Antique garage is a great place to catch up with family or friends. The menu offers a wide selection of mediterranean food from mezes to raw fish, salads and kebab. Good cocktails and a decent wine list. Attentive service. Value for price.

Lamb in various original ways

By gi0trip |

The place is nice with live music at the correct acoustic level. Turkish restaurant, many good dishes, based on lamb but not only. Not cheap but normal in NY (about 70/80 USD each). Glasses of wine are around 16/18 usd

Busy with nice decor and ambiance

By Maureen |

Busy restaurant so booking is recommended although we did see some “walk ins”. It is nicely decorated and a bit different. We had the steak which was nicely cooked and presented. The service was efficient but the staff a bit standoffish . It is not the cheapest place to eat, our two steaks and two glasses of wine came to about $90 with bread and water. Would not say it is good value for money

Really bad service, better atmosphere

By Ellen28 |

We went for drinks and got a hummus app. The bread for the hummus didn't come for a long time. We had to flag people down much after it was on the table. Drinks were fine. Typical West Village pricing. There was a piano player and the vibe was good, but it was too hard to get our waitress's attention. I don't think I'd go back.

Love the Ambiance

By PuckPasha |

There is a small orchestra that plays during your dinner! Lovely. The decor is fantastic with huge chandeliers that clash against the other decor; the walls are full of pictures and photos. This is a fun place. The food is abundant and good. Enjoy a lively dinner.

My son's best meal...ever

By RogerD99 |

First, cool interior and great location. The food is delicious. My 10 year old son ordered the Sultan's Plate and declared it the best meal he has ever had, much to the disappointment of his mother. Everyone loved their dish. My salmon was perfectly cooked. They just seem to know exactly what they are doing.

Nothing to sing about!

By Ben Ceaser |

I recently visited this joint for brunch as I was just in the region. I ordered the chicken shish kebab which took a 'LONG' while to make and tasted somewhat substandard to other chicken shish kebabs i've tried in London. Service also leaves a lot to be desired. Smiling and pretending to care is the basic rule of customer service, suffice to say they failed. On the positive side, the turkish beer is good (elfes beer- I think its called). The interior decor is brilliant and creates a warm cozy eating environment. It boasts a wealth of ancient Turkey through its lovely portraits with a contrast of New York's beautiful furniture and layout, thus indulging one in this antique notion. Not too bad an experience overall!

Great place

By caryn1958 |

Well dressed crown and ability to order a little or a lot. Great dishes to share and quirky decor. Great cocktails too

Good lunch

By Miguel Hurtado |

Went by myself to walk by SoHo and found this great place with live jazz. The food and quality of service is good. I recommend it.

Best food!

By Erin P |

My husband and I arrived in New York after a very long haul flight from Australia. We were very tired and exhausted but decided to have a wonder near our hotel to get something to eat and we stumbled across this wonderful restaurant. It had a man playing the piano and great table service and amazing food. Be sure to check it out. The place has really fun decor!

Nice ambiance, friendly service

By Ronald B |

We started with a shared charcuterie plate. This was so much food that we cancelled one of the entrees and shared the entree to. Cancelling was no problem. Perfect service! The interior decoration and the live piano player made our evening. You will love this restaurant.

Recommend

By Tanna D |

Atmosphere is great. Jazz music is always good. Food is awesome too. I would recommend both New York City locations. We have been to both

Loved the food and ambiance

By Shivana P |

My husband and I went here with a friend who frequents this restaurant and I can surely understand why. The ambiance is very quaint and cosy and has just the right setting for your to enjoy your dinner. The food was wonderful as well. I highly recommend the octopus as a starter and most things on the rest of the menu are really tasty too, so you won't go wrong with anything you choose. We had a few hiccups at the beginning with being seated, but the staff quickly sorted us out. This is a great place to eat in SoHo.

We will be back!

By SueP413 |

Happened upon this beautiful restaurant while shopping on Canal Street. We had dinner reservations elsewhere or we would have stayed. There were 11 of us and we explained that we just wanted cocktails. They were so nice. We sat at a beautiful table in the center of the restaurant. The mangers and waiter were so friendly. The drinks were delicious and the wine list superb (I am a wine snob).

Funky location

By Cosmopil |

Busy, fun restaurant. There was live jazz on the night we were there. This place is very popular with a queue of people outside waiting to come in.The decor is very haphazard with mirrors and misc.items.We had the mezze which we absolutely loved. The wine was very good too.

Great find

By LEGK30542 |

In NYC with Mom and son. Stayed downtown for the first time. We love Greek food and Antique Garage was perfect. Eclectic, warm atmosphere with live music (Dec 26th). The kebob, eggplant appetizer and seafood special that was on top of eggplant were noteworthy. White wine by the glass was nice, good variety. Good food that for NY didn't break the bank. Definitely will go back.

It is okay

By Nil |

Great atmosphere and decor... We only had salad because it was very late. The salad was halloumi salad and it was tasty but the artichokes they put in it was very little and it was not enough. The overall taste of the salad was good but for the price it needed some more artichokes. We also had dessert, apricot delights. 4 tiny dried apricots boiled in simple syrup stuffed with milk cream and almonds, $10. Kind of too much and the presentation of it was very poor. 4 dry apricots for $10... Well I think they also have live music but we didn't see anything on Saturday night. We were there around 10 pm and there was no live music. So not sure if we will go back again. Their kebabs might be good and might worth the price.

Vibe!!!!

By richard m |

Never really walked about Soho before. This restaurant was a real find, not a chain and it was really intimate. Would definitely recommend this place.

Pricey and stressful

By Gary189852 |

Nice decor in the place but paid 48 $ for a New York strip that was mediocre and could only eat half of it. A waiter came asking if we where done four times in ten minutes when we still where eating. The place was only half filled so it was not like they needed the table. There is a lot of better restaurants in the area. Avoid.

Delicious but noisy in the evenings

Delicious and Noisy. I've been going to Antique Garage for years, for lunch. The menu is lovely, something for everyone. It was my go-to pick for a dinner with some business colleagues. I thought it would be the perfect choice, but was wrong. There was live music that was too loud for the tiny restaurant. It was all acoustic, there there were horns involved. We asked to be seated as far from the band as possible. It was still too hard to have a conversation without yelling. It remains a favorite lunch spot. I will never return for dinner again.

Horrible place.

By JazzSooner |

The food is ok but way overpriced. The staff are rude and the way they treat the musicians is disgraceful. The musicians are not even allowed to bring water on the stage and have to beg to be paid. These people are horrible to work for and I can’t support a business like that. I know it’s cute and Instagramable, but please think about eating somewhere where they treat their employees with more respect. Would give zero stars if possible.

Love this restaurant

By GroOsloNorway |

An old garage with lots of antiques on the walls. The staff is very friendly and a lovely atmosphere with a piano/guitar player playing live music in the corner. Great turkise/greek food and greate value. Recommend it...both food and dessert!

Great food

By Gareth W |

Great find, food was very good - fresh and great taste. The menu is Mediterranean with a dood selection of dishes. I ate hummus which was good followed by chicken on a skewer - which was delicious. The service was professional but was a little slow. The restaurant advised us of why our food was taking longer than usual to arrive. We will definitely eat here again.

Great music, deficient food

By SebBarBer |

I was drawn by the live improv jazz, which was fantastic. Unfortunately the food taste was not up to expectations - ordered a prosciutto pizzeta and a Montepulciano. Weeelll below expectations. Perhaps the spaniards figured it out with the ham thing better than the italians, at least I can conclude that based on tonight’s experience. Don’t want to offend anyone just offer brutal transparency you can use.

Nice atmosphere good food

By JadeN1972 |

Lots of chandeliers give it a nice warm atmosphere, not too dark. We didn’t have reservations but were offered bar seating for dinner which was fine. The bar steak was very good. A bit pricey but that’s Tribeca/NYC.

Best chicken dish!

By Katrin S |

Love antique garage for its cozy atmospeher, neighborhood feel and the best chicken dishes! Try the chicken kebab for sure and if you go on Sunday for brunch, try the shakshuka. My only complaint is the inconsistent service.

Nice vibe and great food

By stevec321 |

We liked the vibe in this place. The garage door was open as it was a lovely October day. The interior decor is fun - lots of vintage and paintings on the wall etc. The staff were attentive and lovely. We really enjoyed the Greek/Mediterranean food choices - lamb kebabs, shepherd’s salad, halloumi cheese etc…

beautiful setting and delicious food

we loved this unique restaurant , the space and ambiance is magnificent! the service superb and the food delicious ! the evening was a wonderful experience ! highly recommended

Chicken Panini 😩

By Sandy20132009 |

If you go here do not get the chicken Panini, the chicken is very grizzly. Service was not the best either.

Not a bad bite

By Dan K |

Rolled in off the street after seeing the menu was adequate for our paleo needs. Pleasant surprise :) meat was perfectly cooked, savory and not overdone. Waiter was moustafa who catered to our bizarre needs without issues. Cozy environment, had nice live jazz that wasn’t too loud. We Will absolutely eat here again to try new dishes next time as all the tables around us also had lovely plates

Fantastic food

By Silverbug74 |

Myself and my husband were in New York for a week and although we had some nice meals during the week this was by far the best.It was our last night and we were looking for somewhere cool to go.I booked this place as it looked interesting and it didn't let us down. Its a small place with interesting decor. I think we were the only tourists there which in a way was nice and gave us confidence that the food must be good.We had the sharer to start which was lovely. There were a great selection of dips with bread and some filo parcels of goat cheese. Its by far the best version of this we have ever had as the dips were obviously freshly made.I had the lamb meatballs as a main and my husband had one of the specials which was a selection of a few of the main dishes (lamb meatballs, chicken skewers etc).portions were large and all the meat was cooked to perfection. The dark meat was pink which is how we like it. We were stuffed but had to try dessert.I had profiteroles which were delicious and my husband had the stuffed apricots which were good but poor value for money. The only slight negative was that it was quite noisy in the restaurant as it was so busy and there was a lady playing the piano.Tables are positioned very close together which may bother some but we felt the food made up for this and it allowed for great people watching!

nice meal

By FredericoMeyer |

the restaurant has a fantastic ambience. live piano with good jazz and bossa nova music. the food is not very elaborated, but tasteful and excellent. an experience that is to be repeated. the negative points: twice I went and there was water dropping from the ceiling. once on the bench on the right side of the restaurant, the second time on the left one. in one of my visits, a couple of cockroaches were seen on the floor (the restaurant is on street level). I do recommend the place.

Rip off and uninspired food

By stiepany |

We got a recommendation from our Hotel the Nomo Soho. We had a very special day: it was the 50th Birthday of my husband. When we arrived: The table was not arranged. They’ve put us on the „CAT TABLE.“...After main course they‘ve offered a dessert as a present but later on they‘ve put it on the bill??? What kind of present is that?? The Food: Tuna was so uninspired and we just could taste the grill. Better find another Place in NY. And for a special night: better go somewhere else like the lure...

Delightful

By Marcosteyl |

We stumbled through the door on a really wet and cold evening. You are met with attentive, friendly and professional staff. We had drinks at the bar while waiting for a table but had some much fun that we ended up having dinner right there. Great live music and all-round wonderful experience.

Mercer Street Gem

By Nelson A |

This is very unique eatery that was converted from an old auto garage. The staff was extremely friendly and the food was amazing. If you like Mediterranean / Greek food with a splash of NYC in a unique location, then this is a place to try. The prices are on the high side but well worth it.

Turkish gem in Soho

By DomSila |

Exhausted from shopping we was basically looking for any place to make a glass of wine. And this small restaurant was absolutely amazing: kind staff, good wine (btw we followed the recommendations and tried Turkish wine), huge cheese plate and nice atmosphere. Nice small place. We were surprised and now recommending.

Recommendation: Skip

By Priya S |

Tried Antique Garage on a whim since we were in the neighborhood. The décor is pretty cool and interesting but that’s probably the only pro to coming here. While the actual restaurant is pretty big, they squeeze tables together meaning the table next to me was practically sitting on top of me during their dinner. The poor servers also had a difficult time navigating around and especially handing out the drinks. Definitely not great if you want privacy (although I did notice the upstairs had one large table that would be great for a large group). The food was bland and overpriced. The drinks, incredibly slow to come out, were also nothing to write home about. Overall, seems like a cool idea but the overpriced food and drinks and cramped situation make it a skip recommendation.

Excellent food for your taste buds!

By Chantell de Palm |

This restaurant serves Mediterranean food with very nice flavors for your taste buds. The tzatsiki tasted so fresh and the vegetarian pizza was very good. The service can be somewhat improved because we had to remind them twice to serve us and I believe because of the limited space that it can get very crowded and noisy. It's not children friendly. In general I enjoyed this secret located restaurant. If it wasn't for my friend who lives nearby I would have never known it. So if you love a unique, charming and romantic ambiance I would recommend a visit.

Tasty food and cool interior

By Janith W |

Tasty food, cool vintage interior, jazzy and buzzing feeling. I tried the Adana Kebab (Grilled spicy chopped lamb with pita bread and onion salad). Really tasty meet, and recommended if you like it slightly spicy 🌶

After dinner drinks and live Jazz

By Janet T |

Enjoyed a glass of wine and an appetizer along with a three piece Jazz band. We were specifically looking for live music. The decor was beautiful. The music was low key and relaxing.

Lovely spot for excellent Mediterranean

By cbarney2003 |

It was a beautiful day and the garage door was open. The lovely eclectic style of decor was welcoming. The sampler platter was a great start. Each dip was perfect and the bread nice and fresh. We enjoyed the pasta dishes as well as my ground lamb pita. Service was attentive and prices reasonable. Can't ask for more.

The ending of the meal explains the low review

By HubbellGardiner |

I met friends for lunch. We shared an appetizer, the maze plate, and two entrees, seafood begendi and the kale salad. All were very good. No complaint about the food. The service was mostly fine until the end if a little cold. For dessert, two of us had coffee, two cups each, don't expect a refill though. So twenty bucks later for the coffee, and while finishing our dessert one of my dinner companions noticed a huge roach crawling on me. I still shudder thinking about it. When we complained, we were told there was nothing they could do because the restaurant is open to the outside. While that premise is definitely debatable they never once at least to remove the dessert or coffee off the bill even though we weren't finished. My friend emailed the restaurant to complain but no response. So bad customer service all the way around.

Great menu, service, atmosphere

By GulchFamily |

We were in the mood for Mediterranean and happened to see this place. Everything was fresh and tasty. Classic middle eastern with some twists. Great cocktail menu, too

I like it: Interesting mix

By Restaurant and Hotel Fan |

I like it: Interesting mix of mediterranean dishes, cool atmosphere, nice and competent service, prices OK.

Highly Satisfied

By Scott B |

My wife has been here a couple times and had a great experience, so I finally got an opportunity to try this place. The downtown location couldn't be better. The atmosphere was most certainly eclectic and elegant with exposed brick and antiques hanging on the walls. The weight staff was well polished and attentive. We shared a Tapas platter and Kabob dish. Both items were absolutely delicious with great bread. The owner graciously delivered complimentary Baklava. The prices were definitely reasonable for down town Manhattan. I would highly recommend this restaurant for all occasions.

What a Find

By susieschwartz2001 |

A lovely spot literally in a garage space! The restaurant is decorated with tasteful antiques and serves wonderful Mediterranean cuisine. I found the restaurant on Trip Advisor and was glad I did. My friends and I loved the space, location and food at Antique Garage. We ordered every appetizer offered which were all delicious and then had the cheesecake and baklava for dessert. Yum! We will be back!

Good food and decor, average service

By Deena F |

After 10-15 minutes we finally we acknowledged my a waiter and had our order taken. We ordered everything at once. Drinks and food all came out exceptionally fast, despite having to wait to order them. I think this place has the best spicy margarita I've ever had. Also the food is delicious. The fried haloumi cheese and calamari are A+. The decor inside and the piano player at night really make this place unique. If we were attended to a little quicker this place would be a full 5 stars, because the food and drinks are excellent.

We got lucky

By Iordark |

We just went to the restaurang without any pre booking and got lucky geting a table at once. Seems to be a very popular place so be aware of that. Since in their we had a great brunch with good service. It is really worthwhile if your are in the Big Apple.

Delicious

By Girlcaneat |

My mom and I ate here for lunch on a Sunday afternoon. The food was delicious! There was live music as well that was fabulous. We both had the manti and we split a dessert (cant remember the name) and it was really good also.

Great Kebabs and Baklava!!

By Collie |

Truly enjoyed the flavorful juicy kebabs and the baklava was fresh and simply delicious. We had a wonderful meal in this charming little brick walled eatery. Service was excellent and fast.

Superb

By Sturt-Smith |

Great soho location. Along with the live music the Interior design gives the restaurant a great atmosphere. Food was fantastic. Both the steak and sea bass were very well cooked. Highly recommend

Good but not wow!

By dpeace1 |

Food was good, I ordered the fish special wish was very fresh. However, for a Turkish restaurant the food was a bit bland and there were some signature items that were missing. Initially the waiter had a bit of an attitude but towards the end of our meal he became more friendly. Overall, it was nice but not a wow experience.

Fully recommend!

By Katrinajm92 |

I was in love with the décor, and once eating in love with the food! They had a man playing piano live for half an hour when we were there, and that was at noon. As we went for brunch and my bf was set on eggs, whist I ordered the wrapped lamb with yoghurt. Once he tried my dish he was all over it and we nearly needed two! Going straight to my list of favorite spots in the city

Great place!

By Torbjörn Å |

Visited at lunch time and also in the evening. A really nice Meze restaurant in an old garage in the middle of Soho!! A lot to look at, great food, service, music and people. Really enjoyed it!

GREAT

By GIJONESA73 |

Casual discovery in Soho, highly recommended. Very cool decoration, very good food and well priced for being in the heart of New York's Soho. The waiters are very attentive and attentive. Spectacular cocktails!! It's very worth it!

Ok

By MeraKi25 |

Good hummus, but not enough to dip in. Veggie pizzette was good as well. Cute location with an interesting vibe. One restroom for the whole place, so expect lines.

Wonderful food and atmosphere

By Gerardo |

In a beautiful street is this wonderful restaurant with great decor, ambience and an opening to the street (perfect for a warm summer night). Jazz trio playing great music. Food was excellent (sea bass ceviche first, then lamb chops for me) as was the service. A great place to return to.

First dinner in NYC

By Jaybee767 |

This was our first dinner in New York on a post COVID holiday from Australia. Chose this based on a recommendation and location. Service was attentive and the food very good. Not a wow, but a very good meal.

Great ambiance for a low key chat with friends

By VadoVerde |

Went on a Thursday night a Meze and drinks with two friends. They had a live 3-piece band playing mellow jazz which created an intimate ambiance. The staff were very friendly, the food (a few Mezes we shared) was adequate, and the drink (jalapeno margarita) was refreshing. The one thing I can't get over is the $18 drinks. I come from Orange County and this price is way higher than I would pay here. I do hear those are regular prices for NYC though... Nevertheless, I'd go again and I'd surely take a date there.

Perfect salad - cool vibe, excellent service

By Astrid O |

Had the best summer salad at Antique Garage this week - shaved fennel with Avocado, blue cheese and walnuts, with a fresh and lemony dressing. I know - you’ll say - avocado and blue cheese ....try it, it’s killer! I will be back! Thank you Antique Garage, great summer dinner with friends and excellent service

Unique, GREAT food, great wait staff.

By 1911Fan |

Will return next timewe are in NYC. Food was fantastic, even though I did not think I would like it. Kind of tight quarters but fun.

Not Soho good...

By Eduardo B |

I do not know very well what to say, it was not very good but it was not bad either ... definitely not going back! Not one of those you say, it's worth it...

Decent food, terrible service

By Alex B |

I went here on a Saturday night for dinner with a friend. The food was generally good but we had a bad experience with the service. Our waiter was very pleasant but seemingly ignored us. It took forever just to get water and place our drink/appetizer order. When they finally came, the waiter didn't come back to get our food order until about 50 min after we were initially seated. We were sitting there with empty drinks and an eaten appetizer plate before even placing our entree order. No one came back to ask if we wanted another round of drinks or more food or even more water. We finally ordered our entrees and another glass of wine and the wine came out after we were half through eating our entrees. I kinda thought they'd comp the second glass of wine since we were basically done eating when it showed up but no. My Branzini wasn't bad but was underwhelming and bland. The lamb kebob was better. All in all it was an almost two hour experience mostly wondering what was going on.

Lovely food and vibe

By Amber D |

This atmospheric spot is a gem . The night we went they had a guy playing the piano and singing . We shared the Muhamma and Humus dip ; chicken salad ; and the meatballs . Everything was really delicious and generous helpings of fresh bread meant we ate far too much . Plus the lovely homemade lemonade to wash it all down with .

Lunch

By Mepots |

Fabulous place! Cute, awesome food. Great lunch spot in SOHO to visit with your girlfriends. A definite repeat. Had the lamb dish and the sampler appetizer plate. - mixed meze platter

Lovely setting

By Thepurplegirls |

The restaurant is very cozy, although buzzing with people and noise, which is always a good sign. The waiters were very efficient, if not a tiny bit aloof. There were a lot of great looking dishes on the menu but I think I probably ordered the most boring thing on offer - a chicken panini - so it serves me right that I can't rave about it. However, I would go again and try some other food and even have something to drink next time, other than water.

Marvelous dinner - great ambiance

By KARENSK_12 |

Marvelous dinner - great ambiance and a plentiful variety of Mediterranean options - best borek I’ve ever tasted

Wonderful find

By Jennifer R |

We were happy to find this around the corner from our hotel, and wandered in for an after-ballet supper. The decor is beautiful... an eclectic combination of varied chandeliers, exposed brick walls, a wall of subway tiles and another covered with antique mirrors. Everything used is an antique...from the bread plates to the serving dishes. The food is excellent... try the warm goat cheese salad, with prosciutto-wrapped goat cheese on a bed of arugula. Delicious! And the service is superb. Our waitress never stopped filling the water glasses! BTW... I think everyone in this neighborhood is good-looking.... it was a glamorous crowd that night.

Great

Only stopped here for a glass of Vino and a shelter from the rain, glad we did what a fabulous little place !!! Full of life, don’t pass by.

Great restaurant

Cool place, nice ambiance, good service and very good food. The decoration is really beautiful, and there’s Jazz/Blues band every day since 7 to 10pm. A must go restaurant!

Lunch Stop near Canal Street, in Soho

By kaylaartt |

Stopped by for lunch - the restaurant has a good atmosphere overall. Best seats are closer to the street, but are limited. Back of restaurant is a bit dark. Food overall was fine.

Night out with friends

By Alexanderd911 |

We were able to book a table at this restaurant for a Saturday evening, which was quite an achievement in itself. The place is nicely decorated and has live music on the weekends. Our waiter was great, he had a lot of humor and we had quite some fun when he was at our table. The food is mainly meditarenean, plenty of mezes to choose from. Mains are mostly lamb, though they also serve chicken, beef, and fish, however a lesser choice. The food was tasty, spicy for some dishes. The overall atmosphere was friendly. Whereas there was life music, they were hardly audible, as the noise levels were quite elevated. We spend a nice evening in this place.

Gorgeous set up

By slattmun |

We came across this place by accident on our way to dinner elsewhere and came back for a drink. We had a cocktail each so can't comment on the menu but a wonderful trio was playing jazz, it was nearly empty and our drinks were excellent. We loved it and stayed much longer than we expected.

Atmosphere better than the food

By Loracmom2boys |

It was July 4th and the restaurant was empty. We arrive early and they were able to seat us. The restaurant never filled the entire time we were there. The food was just average but the ambiance was great. The garage door was open and it was a lovey. We shared the watermelon salad. It was really an arugula salad with 5/6 mellonballs of watermellon. As a group we ordered the mix grill, lamb chops and grilled fish. The lamb chops were the best item and most enjoyed. Dessert was GF and fair. It was disappointing.

Deborah

By Deborah W |

We had a late lunch at Antique Garage on a walk past. Food was fresh, flavourful and we left feeling well (but not over) fed. Service was attentive and discrete. It was fairly quiet and I agree with a previous reviewer that at busy times you might be a little close to fellow diners. Overall this is one of the best meals we have had during our two week stay in the US.

So Soho

By Seeseej |

Saturday brunch on a cold winter day, with live jazz music and a lively crooner --- what a way to enjoy Turkish food. Sharing a Andana Kebab and sunny side up eggs with beef sausage was a great idea to sample two of the house's favorites. End with the Midnight Express for a surprise. A first visit, a discovery in Soho.

Gem of a place - Loved it!

By 4Quantum |

This was such a cute find - lots of charm with many different unique pieces. From the chandeliers to the dinner plates, the friendly waiters delivered our delicious meals that we really enjoyed. We had vegetarian options with glasses of house wine. They had live entertainment which was a woman that sang and played the piano turning out to be an unexpected delightful surprise. She came and asked for a request and was excellent. This dinner at 'Antique Garage' was one of our favorite memories of the trip. I would recommend it for groups, romantic couples, families - suitable for all.

Great restaurant, great food

By welovesunshine2 |

Good service, great food and nice atmosphere. Only advice would be not to arrive too early as the bar is very small so there isn't much room to wait. The menu is good for those who like seafood, as well as those enjoying lamb, chicken or steak. I had the flank steak which was very nicely cooked and tasted great. No room for dessert!

Very good experience

By Jacob G |

We've been at this restaurant twice. We liked the menu which was delicious. We had a steak there and a salad. The steak was made as expected (Medium) and the salad was fresh and tasty. We will come back some day again.

Delicious granola in cool space

By Sofia S |

Best brunch throughout our whole NY stay, great location mid Soho, friendly staff, gluten free options and free wifi

You are paying a lot for ambiance

By LiveToTravel45 |

We stopped in for lunch during a shopping trip to Soho. The decor and ambiance are wonderful. It has a very European feel. We ordered a variety of dishes and some were very good and others average, but all fairly expensive. In particular, the beet "salad" for $18 was not a salad but a single stack of sliced beets interspersed with cheese and a total of probably one sliced beet in this arrangement. While tasty, this was a disappointment. The mozzarella panini also could have been better. The bread was thick and hard to bite through and there was not much mozzarella. On the positive side, the quinoa and kale salad was very good as was the latte and baklava. On the odd side was the service. It is a very small restaurant yet the waitress continued to walk by us without checking if we needed anything. We had to ask for everything - more water, to order lunch, to get dessert, to get the check. She simply wasn't attentive. So even though some of the food was very good, I probably would not go back as there are better values and service to be had elsewhere.

15th Anniversary dinner

By Bigshuda17 |

My wife and I decided to have a staycation and spend the night in Tribeca. We live just across the river in NJ, so a one night getaway was just what we needed. We stayed at the Roxy Hotel and Rudy from the concierge gave us a few recommendations for dinner. We chose Antique Garage. It is a small, comfortable spot. Chandeliers are hanging everywhere, and the decor is very nice. The staff was very attentive and they had a live jazz band performing. The ambience is very nice. The food was good. They offer a Mediterranean cuisine. The prices were not too bad. I would definitely go back.

Really enjoyed Antique Garage

By S S |

Had dinner with my wife and two daughters (18 & 21) here over the 4th of July weekend and really enjoyed it. We shared the Meat & Cheese Charcuterie Board, the Mixed Meze Platter and a chicken kabob entrée. Everything was very good and we were happy we only ordered the one entrée - anything more would have been wasted. The atmosphere is really cool and the staff was very friendly.

Fabulous cool restaurant

By Juliet L |

We loved this place. We found it by following the sounds of their cool jazz drifting down the street and booked to go the next day. The food and service was great - staff were welcoming and attentive, the food delicious, and we loved the live music and decor.

3 or 4 stars, not sure

By sinnelizer |

The food is great, the wine is OK, the hostess was smiling, but some waiters are horrible! I had two waiters at a time, one was good and caring, the second cared only about the tips I left. He took the cheque right out my hand and start exploring how much I left! Just in front of me!! Very disappointing.

Cool food and jazz

By John R Dye |

Sometimes you get good food and sometimes you get good music - hardly ever can you get them together. Aurora does both. Exceptional Mediterranean cuisine with a different Jazz group every night.

Loved it

By Nazv9 |

Great food and ambiance. Spent time with friends there and I strongly recommend it...both food and dessert!

Horribly Rude Service

By joanneisabelperry |

Visited the Antique Garage as a tourist from England, heard good things and were out in Soho so figured I would stop with my Mum and Aunt for lunch. There were a couple of people sat outside but nobody inside but we still decided to eat there after hearing it spoken about highly. I ordered halloumi and it just tasted like rubber. My mother ordered salad and it was just lettuce. Hardly anything else but lettuce. I cannot remember what my aunt ordered but she was not pleased with hers either. But overall they were just light bights with a glass of wine each. We received the bill which came to over $100. We were all appalled. After all, none of us were full and it wasn't pleasant. But we decided to stay sat and finish our drinks before paying. We all felt as though we were being watched. After about 10 minutes our waiter approached us and asked if we could pay as they were switching staff. Basically just implying that he wanted his tip before he left. We had already complained about the price and that we only had a light lunch and it was barely cooked/enjoyable. We said that we would take our time paying the bill as we are still drinking and enjoying our time together. He wasn't pleased. After about 5 minutes of still being glared at rudely by staff, we left. We paid the bill of course. We still left a tip out of politeness (not a very generous one) and that was that. Overall, this experience was the worst part of our trip to the city and would not recommend to anyone as the staff are horribly rude, unwelcoming and the food is atrocious along with a ridiculous price.

Great Jazz

By ATY_58 |

We didn't eat here but passed nearby one evening after eating elsewhere, heard the music and popped in. They were happy to let us have a glass of wine and listen to the music. They have different music every night and ours was a trio of Trumpet, guitar and Bass. They were excellent and if the other music is up to this standard they I would recommend going there.

Great find!

By lstahl |

Great decor and great food! Delicious flavors of iced tea also! So glad we stumbled onto this place! Had the chicken panini, Adana kebabs and warm goat cheese salad. Highly recommend!

Really quite good

By Michael S |

Well located on Mercer street in the middle of soho. We booked at the last minute and went on a rainy evening. The glass front was closed but on a dry night the front would be open adding to the atmosphere. A good buzzy atmosphere in a brick walled restaurant covered in prints and mirrors. A good assortment of table sizes from tables for two and much larger numbers. The air conditioning was far too cold and there appeared to be a resistance to adjust it so eventually we moved tables. At this point the evening could have gone either way but the manager just about saved the day. A good selection of food including specials. We ate the tuna and a steak, both were good although the wine was very ordinary and expensive. The jazz band made the evening for us as they created a great vibe and atmosphere. Such quality musicianship needs greater appreciation. The service was fine but nothing special. The restaurant seemed to empty early and by 1030 pm we were alone which surprised me. Overall a good experience.

soho gem

a small mediterranean spot with excellent food and friendly service. very nice vibe. i am looking forward to going back soon.

Good Soho spot

By travelauditor |

Finally had a solo night with my wife during our vacation and wanted a trendy place. Antique Garage fitted the bill. Amazing jazz singer and lovable menu. Decor is random and literally being taken out from a garage sale. Only missing for the 5 stars is the service. The service is flat and unmemorable.

A surprising Turkish restaurant

By Elizur B |

We looked for a flea market - we got a restaurant !! Food was tasty , however not really in line with a breakfast menu Very good Turkish coffee Excellent service

One of the hidden gems of the Downtown dining scene!

By 838hanyf |

A long time favorite that never disappoints the "in the know" dining scene. Consistently great food and great value. Wonderful staff and the Jazz music is unpretentious and unintrusive. Both summer when the roller door is up or cozy winters. It's a great hang out or a dinner date.

Turkish food is a very unique setting

By Bill A |

Over this past weekend, I tried the Antique Garage at the recommendation of a friend. I have eaten at many restaurants with Mediterranean inspired food (e.g. Italian, Greek, Middle Eastern, etc), but, I think this is the first time that I have ever tried Turkish food. Antique Garage is a relatively small restaurant, located in a building that looks like it could be a former garage, with a roll up door serving as its front window. As the name implies, it is wonderfully decorated with interesting antiques and there was live piano music when I was there. I thought that the service was excellent and food was very flavorful and well executed. My only critique is that the portions, particularly the appetizers, seemed a little small relative to the prices. Overall, we were very pleased with our dinner. And, given the uniqueness of the setting and the food, I will definitely be going back.

Jazzy and Delicious

By Eugene K |

Antique Garage restaurant is comfortably located in SOHO surrounded by all famous shopping boutiques and stores. So, when you are done with shopping fun the best idea is sit down for a moment and have some quality time tasting Mediterranean cuisine in the interior of exposed-brick space with antiques and live jazz. I would definitely recommend to make reservation in advance, the place is always full, but charming and cozy as of antique garage.

Excellent food and ambiance

By Paolo1005 |

Soho Jewel

By Mariana L |

We've been at the Antique Garage on many occasions in the last five years and never been wrong. Great food, really attentive service and reasonable prices. I recommend for lunch when in Soho.
