Fab seafood boil

By Kay R |

My daughter was desperate to eat here when we visited New York last week, so we came here as a family of 5. We had no prior reservation, which was fine. I don't actually like seafood or fish, so had a very limited food choice - I went for the chicken basket with fries, which was fine. I also had corn, which was far too strongly garlic flavoured in my opinion. The rest of my family had different boil options which they all loved - although the snow crab legs are very difficult to eat with no manual crackers given but they managed. Check came to around $250 for the 5 of us, so a good price for the food we had. Drinks aren't free refills.

Very good and reasonably priced seafood meal

We spotted this restaurant as we walked along Ninth Avenue looking for a lunch spot. It wasn’t open but menu was posted. We were back for dinner and very glad. We shared a soft shelled crab appetizer over Cajun fries and it was a good choice. Dinner is served in a plastic bag with choice of seafood, corn and potatoes and sauce with varied degrees of “heat”. Servings are generous 1 pound of shellfish. The table has a shell basket, you are given a bib and gloves. Wait staff is very attentive and gracious.

Lively place, good food

Cajun seafood boil place. *Bring cash; there's an ATM in the restaurant - merchant cost - wink. Expect to eat seasoned seafood out of a plastic bag; they provide rubber gloves so that you don't smell like fish for the rest of the day! Had appetizers - catfish platter, Brussel sprouts, calamari & lemonade. The food was well seasoned. Went Saturday night before Veteran's Day. Lively place {get ready to fake smile at the person across from you from time-to-time because it's a bit too loud to have a decent conversation across the table but just right if you like leaning in:-} Top notch decor & the mural looks amazing! Typical seating for most NYC restaurants - very tight (they've obviously moved the summer outdoor furniture indoors). I suggest removing the grub bucket from the table unless eating alone - the table is actually meant for 1 person.

Messy Tasty Fun

We were in New York for a visit from the UK Aqua Boil was such a fun and delicious experience! The seafood was wonderfully fresh, full of flavor, and so tasty. It’s a bit messy, but that’s all part of the charm — cracking shells and diving into the sauces made it even more enjoyable. The atmosphere was lively, the staff were friendly and helpful, and everything came out perfectly cooked. If you’re looking for great seafood in New York with a bit of a twist, Aqua Boil is definitely worth a visit!

Messy and really tasty !

Doesn’t look like much from the outside but definitely delivered! Really good seafood and when you are provided bibs, disposable gloves and a heap of serviettes you wonder what is going on. Our waitress helped us with the order and our meal came out in a plastic bag! Sounds odd but it wasn’t and the food was delicious!

Unpretentious

Cajun seafood boil restaurant, where getting messy is the number one rule, you will not fins any forks and knives, it’s alla about eating with your hands! A lovely staff, delicious food and spices which are well balanced will make this experience a great one!

Seafood boil

I have always loved the clams in Cajun sauce that come in a thick plastic bag. You eat with plastic gloves and toss the shells in a bucket. A plastic bib and paper towels help, but it’s a messy business. A boiled potato is added to the bag. Shrimp, mussels, and crab legs could be added to make up a combo to share with others if they also want a seafood boil. Other dishes are not interesting. The gumbo that had shrimp, chicken and vegetables was somewhat watery. Popcorn chicken was not crisp, and the fries that came with were not cooked enough. I suggest coming with likeminded friends to share a combo or order different seafood with different sauces to share. That would be fun. Or this is the kind of meal I would rather eat all by myself and get really messy.

Poor service and incomplete orders with zero resolutions

By MAC |

I ordered a half pound of shrimp plus an extra half pound of shrimp along with some veggies, a lobster roll and a half pound of crab legs delivered to me by Aqua Boil. I scheduled the delivery for 8pm on 2/4/2022. But no one showed up for 90 minutes and the order was incomplete. Also, they called my husband a liar and me too because they couldn't believe that we only got 5 shrimp instead of a full 1 pound.

Sloppy and fun

You wear plastic gloves and a bib to eat a large plastic bag of hot crawfish, snow crab legs, or shrimp in a choice of sauces (Cajun spicy is the best). Youtoss the shells in a large bucket and get sauce on your wine glass. It’s heaven. The ambience is fast food in a modern room. The sign outside says Cajun food, and that’s true, but it’s the rage among hip young Chinese. The staff and almost all the customers were Chinese.

Cajun seafood boil

The best Cajun seafood boil in Hell’s kitchen (9ave). Friendly staffs and excellent service. App - lobster roll and gumbo is a Must!! Boil - snow crab legs with cajun mix sauce is so flavorful. And don’t forget to order the garlic bread so you can enjoy dipping w your sauce.

I couldn’t have been more disappointed. I go to restaurants several times a week for a long time now. This now places at one of the worst.

Happy hour all day, every weekday! Great seafood sizes and their cajun mix sauce was impressive. Price $$/$$$. Great for anyone staying in times square!

Lobster roll and Cajun fries a delight. Quick service. Small neighborhood restaurant. Fast food atmosphere. We'll be right back.

As a seafood lover I was seeking a place for lunch. Food was very good. I had the shrimp boil. They do not give enough food but overall it was still good. Definitely need to increase portions.

if you in NYC you have to try this

By Victoria M |

absolutely unique experience of seafood eating in NYC :) if you do not mind unpeeled prawns, crayfish, crab etc. please do come here. Cajun sauce is absolutely amazing. Have your prawn and deep it into the sauce in the bag take a bite of the boiled potato covered in the same sauce... yummm

Awesome crab legs with the magic spicy Cajun mix!

Searching for crabs we found the place, attracted by the cajun touch. The food was awesome, the service really welcoming. Simply a really cool place
