We just got back from our Anniversary dinner at Aqua, where we had a 10pm reservation. Upon arrival, the host had us wait for 5 minutes at the bar and then sat us. The waitress took our order, and then another joker came over and said, "the kitchen was closed". I guess the first two geniuses didn't get the memo. And why would you allow people to make a 10pm reservation if your kitchen closes 15 minutes later? Hmmm....how many adjectives can I use to describe this brilliance. 1. I will NEVER go to this restaurant again, EVER! 2. Hutong was my favorite Chinese restaurant in NYC (same owner). I will NEVER go there again either just out of spite! Din Tai Fung anyone! Warning: listen to the negative reviews. Because the favorable one's are probably from friends, family and employees. This place is new and they are tripping over themselves. Hey Yeo, here's some advise, stick to Chinese food! Thanks for ruining my Anniversary dinner (and my wife's Chinese!).

Went there President’s Day for dinner. Not more than 50 people there but service was SLOW. Had Black cod, Tofu, spinach salad, futomaki and yellowtail sashimi. The fish was ok, not great but the tofu was outstanding. Again, service took forever to deliver drinks. Nice atmosphere but Acqua needs some retooling.

"Where should I start? 1) server forgot to take one guest's order and left. 2) one item we ordered never appeared that the server personally recommended (server apologized) 3) they are not trained in pouring wine except the Somm 4) sushi fish was decent but rice was hard 5) white truffle was from small (less expensive) size. ($170) They were pencil shavings just not slices. Octopus was dry. I have to stop. Highlight was the dessert. This will become a culinary equivalent of a Greek tragedy or comedy.

Dinner at Aqua was a waste of too much of money. Slick Vegas decor if you look up, but the tables and chairs are cheap banquet hall quality. The waitstaff suggested we order several plates to share from both the Italian and Japanese menus, but caponata and sashimi do not complement each other and none of the 10 dishes we ordered impressed. Literally everything was sticky and overly sweet. Why would anyone choose this? Multiple staff persons passed our table again and again without clearing dishes, without even scanning the tables. Aqua is nowhere near cool enough for NYC. Overwrought concept with no substance.

Best experience, customer service was excellent, the food exceptional, the restaurant indescribable... the greatimg best ever , can't wait to go back

We went Sat.6th 2025 and we were very impressed with the staff. I have special needs. Need a place to plug in my oxygen machine. They were very accommodating for my requests. The food was delightful. The people that work there made nit very special for my wife and I. Thank you all, Gabriel &Tina

We ate off the Italian menu. All pastas were housemade. The burrata, Tagliere di Salumi, Romagnola pizza, and Pollo Diavola all good. Service is efficient -- often too efficient (some plates were going to be whisked away until we protested) and consequently we felt rushed, even though the restaurant was only half full and we were well under our two-hour table limit.

Reservation very easy. 5 star service and Service. The food was the megahammer. Taste mega. Price/performance ratio ok. Normally 5 points but one downside is that the restaurant is very large, resembles a hall and the chairs somewhat uncomfortable. The acoustics are loud and it was very cold due to the climate. But food and Service 100%.!

One of the best dining experience ever. The food was excellent, service was perfect and the staff so friendly. The ambience was so welcoming and very nicely decorated.

Great dinner spot to go with friends, I've been a couple times and super happy with it. easy to go to with the large group. Also went for brunch.

We arrived at 6:45 to celebrate an anniversary. Cocktails and food were excellent. Wine was also good. We’d consider returning for lunch. Our only criticism is that the volume of the music became obnoxiously loud around 8pm and dampened our ability to enjoy the evening. I can’t imagine management hasn’t heard this complaint from others.

The food was good, the location vibrant (music too loud though) but the service was appalling From a waiter lecturing customers on how to order to a sommelier neither knowing what he is recommending nor knowing what is in stock (and many wines from the list were out of stocks). Not a place i would return to

Great ambiance, highly recommend. Great service. Enok was great at the bar, amazing drinks. Would come back again especially at night with the DJ

My friend and I chose to come to Aqua because she likes Asian cuisine, and I love Italian. Seemed like a perfect spot to go given the dual cuisine model. The space is large, dark and beautifully lit with nice candlelight-type of ambiance. We ordered some items from the Asian menu, and each ordered a small pizza from the Italian menu. The individual pizzas were by far the stand out. Clearly made in house, fresh, and very delicious. The Asian items we ordered were a bit of a let down - we had dumplings, nigiri, and rolls. One of the managers was also chatting with us, and was very welcoming. It is clear they are putting a lot of effort into making their restaurant a success. A challenging task in a city with the best restaurants anywhere. Given all of the great spots to choose from in the city, I’m not sure if we’d hurry back? Not for the Asian food, but maybe for the pizza!

Since its recent opening, Aqua’s sumptuous decor visible through the oversized street windows had beckoned me to try it. I went this week and it did not disappoint! The unusual menu offers both Italian and Japanese cuisine. This unique combo presented me with quite a dilemma. It being lunchtime, I chose the lighter Japanese fair over the Italian, as did my guest. I opted for a selection of sushi which was delectable, especially the tempura shrimp maki. My guest chose the all-in-one bento box salmon and that will likely be my next meal at Aqua. It arrived elegantly displayed with multiple courses including rice and salad and tasty sauces. The service was friendly and attentive and the price was reasonable. I guess I’ll need to go back again and try some Italian food!

I've visited Aqua a few times now, and it never fails to impress with its cool ambiance and delicious cuisine. The menu is super creative, offering a blend of Italian and Japanese dishes. I especially enjoy starting with an Italian dish and then indulging in sushi—though you can stick to just one cuisine if you prefer. With their upcoming brunch offerings, I’m even more excited to come back!(:
Great time! At new Aqua restaurant
We had a great experience ! Sushis were amazing and great service. Dessert was delicious a special tiramisu to die for. I will recommend it. We need to try the italian food next time.
