From the outside this restaurant is a charming little Italian neighborhood place. The lady maitre d was very polite and seated us immediately although it was a busy evening. Tge restaurant has very loud pounding music playing which is not consistent w/ the rest of the atmosphere. Food was reasonably priced, decent portions, well flavored . However, the wait staff were inconsistent, grumpy, untrained and inattentive. When we had problem with one of the dishes, the first waiter was rude and defensive and then called over the second waiter who said they would take it off the check but never apologized. Overall not a pleasant experience.

So we left Aria just 1 hour ago after eating in our coats. We arrived and thought the restaurant was a little chilly however after 20 mins we asked if they could turn up the heat. The waiter stated with no apology that the heating was broken and would not be fixed that evening. The food was good but the evening was ruined.A simple apology by the manager or indeed an upfront warning would have been nice and probably would have changed this review. However now it is back to the hotel to advise the concierge that this restaurant may not be worth the recommendation based on how they handled this situation

The restaurant looks lovely both externally and internally but in my opinion that's where the good elements stop... The food was completely average (overpriced, served lukewarm, cold plates). We were only half way through our starters when both main courses were served (I noticed that this was the same for everybody). The bill came and the price we were charged for the bottle of wine was incorrect. When we questioned this we were told that the prices had been increased and all of the menus had been updated except ours... Rather than honouring this the waitress simply refused to honour this, she stated the price had increased and that was the new price. We left feeling totally ripped off ($90 for 2 ppl). The starters and main courses were also both tiny portions so we had to go on and eat elsewhere!!! They had stuffed that many tables into the place that every few minutes one of our arms or the backs of our chairs were knocked by waiters or customers squeezing past us (we were sat slightly left of the main doors).

I read about Aria on a blog of quality places to eat around Broadway. We arrived early for our reservation and were seated promptly. Decor is simple and lovely. Space is small, but we didn't feel cramped. More of a local crowd, not touristy. In response to more recent reviews, the AC was working just fine. Cocktails were prompt and cold. Water refilled often. My friend and I split a salad and appetizer- both of which were served quickly and delicious. My main pasta dish was excellent. We also split a dessert and ordered cappuccinos (also very good.) Portion size for all was perfect, especially with splitting the salad and app. For NYC- the amount of food/drinks we consumed and the quality- the bill was extremely reasonable. Service was attentive and kind. I would highly recommend Aria and will be back in the future.

Our large group (13) gathered here for brunch/lunch before the theater. The place is small but has a real NY feel (exposed brick galore). Everyone seemed to enjoy their meal very much. Some people in the group had brunch items; others had lunch items. I had rigatoni e gamberi, which was delicious. Not much shrimp but it was only $12. Very enjoyable meal. Service was friendly and professional.

I went here yesterday after seeing a thew people go in. I took a look inside the restaurant and it looked quiet nice, nice atmosphere, nice table, great decorations, and I saw the food people were eating and it looked very good! So I decided to eat there with my party of 4. We look at the menu and everything seems great. I read they have macaroni and cheese and I became very intrigued by dish! I told myself “oh an Italian restaurant making mac&cheese oh this must quiet interesting in taste wise”. So I ordered the dish. All my friends took italien dishes and they told me it was good (thats why I put 2 stars instead of 1). When I got my dish it was this very boring plate with 2 sorry truffles on top. (Btw it was “truffle flavored”) so I tell myself I hope this tastes better then it looks. I eat a piece of this dish and then I check if the macaroni fell of my fork cause I tasted absolutely nothing. It tastes like nothing!! Bland, Boring, I had to keep on putting pepper to get taste! And the truffles weren’t so great. I was greatly disappointed by this. If I can give you a thew tips, try putting bacon or broccoli in it! It really adds flavor. Also staff wasn’t exceptional. Would I recommend? Kinda just dont take mac$cheese for now.

The food tasted good, but the service was really bad. First they didn’t bring what we ordered and even though we asked them several times to turn of the air blower nothing happened. We was freezing through the entire dinner. At the end, the gratitude was included in the bill so we weren’t even able to show our discontent. Never coming back.

Was very surprised to see some negative reviews of this place. I think some may have been turned off by the prices but it seemed like the norm to me in Manhattan. I had the Braised Wild Boar and it was really good and I would recommend it. We did not have a reservation but they seated us outside. The dress was business casual for the patrons we saw coming in but we were there in shorts which given that we were seated outside suited us fine. I would say the service was a tad slow but nothing that really hindered our experience. Didn't see alot of kids there but we were there with our 12 year old.

Cute little Italian restaurant with great food and very reasonable prices for NYC. We came with a group of 10 and the server was great at managing a large group. Sometimes slow on drinks, but it was on a Friday night and it was slammed so no worries there. The lasagna was to die for! Would definitely come back to eat here.

Great food - Mexican - and the place was all decked out for Halloween . It was absolutely jumping with locals . Great atmosphere and reasonably priced food in a great location 10 /15 minutes from Times Square . Cocktails were fabulous .

We had good references from friends, but expectations were exceeded. From starters to dessert, everything was delicious. Good energy, friendly staff. Not cheap but quite affordable. We'll definitely return.

After leaving D side restaurant across the street (see separate evaluation) in anger we went to this restaurant, where the 3 of us had rigatoni e gamberi, fettuchini al fungi, gamberoni e carciofi, costicine di agnello; all very delicious and tasty. Service very quick and efficient. Highly recommended.

ate outside on a great day. food was very good. brochette was a hit. Pastas were all good. service was spotty, but it was a good day to linger

Pretty good Italian peasant food. Anywhere else in the world this would be a just an averagely good, quite expensive for what it is, Italian bistro but in New York where food is an obsession that rarely delivers the hype, it's considered by many to be very good. It isn't but its perfectly acceptable . Your mother's home cooking is better.

We decided to stop in for a late lunch on a lovely sunny day. The wait staff was friendly, knowledgeable and accommodating. The options were plentiful and the wine choices unbelievably vast - something good for every budget. Have to comment on the crème brûlée - perfect. Warm in top, cool on the bottom. Would definitely go back.

After spending over $160 plus leaving a 20% tip (3 people) a hostess came up to us and asked to vacate the table because there were people waiting outside. Guess what, there is a sister restaurant on the same block which was not busy. You should have sent people there. (Nov 18) I am not going back to the place and anyone who goes there - be prepared to be kicked out. Thanks Aria. The food is still good but the new staff really changed my opinion about the place and I can no longer recommend the place to my friends.

Pretty obvious from our experience and past reviews the sole problem lies in the young seating hostess who has gobs of velvet rope-ish attitude and no sense of logic. Comfort Italian food (simple pastas) and eager servers are fine. Arriving for a reservation for 2 where they held $25/person guarantee, she tried seating us on the sidewalk on a windy 50F night with rainstorms expected within 30 minutes. Clearly she did not plan ahead by holding our table for 2 as reserved. Telling her we wanted to sit inside, she offered the communal table where only 3 people were sitting on one end. With a 8pm curtain coming, we settled on the communal table since they had our $50 deposit. Within 5 minutes, she filled all the seats at the communal table, while an inside table for 2 left. Requesting a move to the opened table, she told us we had our choice between outside and the communal table, and we made our choice. Ten minutes later, another table for 2 opened; no offer to move us. By the time we were done eating and ready for the check, those 2 table still sat open. Will never recommend this place to anybody--much better choices near the theater district.

Nice atmosphere, very friendly service. The Aperol was very weak, the quality of the food was average to mediocre. The rosé was very tasty and in the end the vibe was right.

My son and I decided to eat here last week. It was crowded and we didn’t have a reservation but they were able to seat us at the bar. The bartender was attentive and didn’t rush us in ordering. We split the Pecorino kale salad which was delicious...very light, yet tasty and just the perfect amount for us to share. I had the tagliatelle bolognese and my son had the linguini with white clam sauce. Both were good but I thought the portions were small. We finished everything and felt the prices were good for the area. My only complaint would be that the bathroom was extremely hot...maybe it was behind the kitchen.

I went here with coworkers for dinner after all-day meetings and it was great. The service was wonderful and our server was very nice and helped us select several bottles of great wine. I had the Black Truffle Gnocchi and it was worth the trip to the gym the next day. The restaurant is a little small, so it can get a little loud but overall I would definitely dine here again.

We were aiming to get to the local Thai which everyone seemed to be raving about but arrived and there was no space so walked around and fell into Aria. A great local Italian. Loads of atmosphere, my shrimp special was delicious. New York is becoming very expensive but most mains seem to be around $12. Still with one starter, two mains, two glasses of wine one dessert and tip we were still facing a meal of $130. But it was great. Loved the atmosphere, Polish waitress was lovely and all in all was very pleased to have found it by accident and when in NY again, would certainly go again. Think they have a sister pizzeria opposite that was heaving and also looked very good.

Great variety of small plates. Same owners as the place across the street. Friendly bartender. Lots of wine options. Perfect lighting for that romantic date. Try it at least once!

I love all Italian things, specially the food. Aria is probably one of the coolest Italian restaurants I have ever been in. Small, classy, simple, efficient, delicious food, great wine. All pasta dishes are the perfect portion. Had the garganelli Osobuco, lobster ravioli and eggs Florentine (brunch) lentil soup and oysters, panacotta for desert . Had 2 quartinos of montelpucciano. Great value. Good efficient service

We stumbled on this place for a quick bite after a show. The atmosphere is rustic and pleasant. Our server has a thick accent and was not very personable. Not bad but nothing great. We started with Caesar Salad which was outstanding along with more than good bread and oil. The Mojito which I had was freshly prepared and spot on. If your looking for big plates this ain't the place. I prefer appropriate size meals so I leave satisfied but but stuffed. This place delivered. Linguini in Clam Sauce was tasty but limited clams and a thick sauce that was on the odd side of good. The gnocchi in red sauce was fresh but nothing short of average. Overall, it's a safe place for decent food, nice atmosphere and pleasant experience.

Went to Aria's for early dinner. Good food and drinks. Good customer service by the staff. Overall a good experience.

I was in NYC for the 4th of July. My friend, her daughter and myself were walking down 51st Street heading to a restaurant I usually eat at. We saw Aria's and loved their location as well as the intimate environment that they created for their guests. The menu was extensive, inexpensive, simple, but unique and different for this neighborhood. I had the Skirt Steak on a bed of sauteed spinach and roasted potatoes. It was out of this world and this is coming from a mainly vegetable eater. My friend had the Lamb Chops which was off of the appetizer dish and quite a large portion for an appetizer, it also came with red roasted potatoes and it looked very yummy. Sara love it. She also had the beets which were very good. Bengi had the Fettuccini & Mushrooms which looked very yummy as well. I can tell you there weren't any leftovers on our plates. It was my only meal of the day, so I was quite hungry and quite please with my selection. The waitress and the rest of the staff were very pleasant, patient and kind. I'd definitely come back and bring more friends. It was nice because we missed the crowd since we ate around 5. Not that I'm an early birder, but I do like to enjoy my meal and hide away into an intimate spot every now and then. This would be a great place to take someone special out for a romantic dinner, or close friends that you want to catch up with. It has a very warm, friendly and homey atmosphere.

Too hot red wine, which gave us into the ice bucket. Amarone for $ 130 does not deserve to eat like you're leaving. Dirty glasses and the service was confused. Nevermore...

Octopus salad was delicious, great wine selection - deservedly busy which puts pressure on kitchen and servers but they did a great job. It's noisy but great atmosphere!

great food, wonderful atomosphere, and the service was top notch. don't miss it when you are in NYC next.

Very good surprise for our lunch. We arrived in this restaurant at random. Nice decoration. Good food and Helpfull waiters. Special shout out to Bedo. We recommand ++

Nice looking place , average to ok food in a quiet setting. The rudest manager I have seen for a long time. My advice is to keep on walking unless you want to be left feeling you should have punched him on his huge nose !

Excellent for lunch. The maccheroni al tartufo was declared the best pasta ever by my son. Friendly staff. Good prices. Nice setting.

We first ate at Aria last year when visiting NYC and returned this week when visiting again. Our second experience was even better than the first. The food is incredible and the service is wonderful. It’s such a great ambiance and we’ll definitely return the next time we visit.

The place is nice and always crowded with a great selection of wines and a discrete selection of liquors. The menu looks interesting for variety of dishes but it is completely overpriced for quality and taste. Every specialities sounds Italian but was not authentic!!! The buttata cheese was not imported from Italy and it tasted synthetic. The gnocchi al tartufo had no flavor of Tartufo but only cream and cheese. Octopus was tasteless and the polenta just a piece of cardboard. The creme brulee was served cold. Definitively at the same price or less you can enjoy an authentic Italian restaurant at the village or even at Hell's Kitchen (I remember there is a good Italian restaurant called Mercato or La Masseria in that neighborhood) I will never come back.

Aria is forever my favorite Italian place in NYC. The atmosphere is nice and cozy, the food is good, been there many times and was never disappointed. Love the buffala and carpaccio, any pasta is good, really it's up to your taste. Desserts always on point. Will be back again and again.

Such a cozy little place amazing for wine and Italian food. We took the waiters advise with regard what to order and everything was perfect!! Also the service was 10/10

Dinner was simply amazing, tons of different flavors in each dish. It was so good we went back a 2nd night. The tiramisu was amazing.

Dishes are small so you can get several to share, and prices are reasonable. The place is a little small and loud, but that just helps make it feel lively. I would definitely go back

I have eaten at Aria and one of their sister restaurants before and I came back because the food is so good and reasonably priced. Last night, I had an experience that was unacceptable. The hostess asked if I wanted to sit at the bar or at a table. I told her I preferred a table because I was meeting a friend. She seated me at the end of a ling community table, which was fine. I ordered a glass of wine and proceeded to wait on my friend to arrive. They then seated a large party at the community table with me. The large party told the hostess that they had more people coming than they thought. As my wine arrived, she asked me if I would mind moving to a smaller table that had opened up. I agreed to do so and moved. Before I could even settle in at the new table, she came back to say that the table I was now sitting at had been promised to someone else and that I would need to sit at the bar. I told her I didn't want to sit at the bar and that I wouldn't have agreed to move from the first table if I had known I was going to have to go to the bar. She left and came back to keep pressuring me to go sit at the bar. Finally, she said, "We have a sister restaurant just up the street with the same menu. Would you mind going there for a table?" At this point, I was ready to not have to deal with her anymore, so I agreed to walk up the street to the other place. She said "Ok, let me get your bill." I stopped her and said "I'm not paying you for wine I didn't get to drink after being moved twice and sent to another restaurant." She proceeded to tell me that I would have to pay and I told her I was not leaving my wine there and paying for it. At this point, she went to talk to the manager and came back to say that I could stay at my current table. By then, I was frazzled and stressed out. The rest of the experience was fine. The food was fabulous and our server was great. Aria needs to consider not packing so many people into a small space and they need to figure out a better hosting system that does not do to anyone else what they did to me. There's no excuse for that.

Have hard dinner here before, Don't expect haute cuisine, but tasty laid back dishes. Nice surroundings and attentive staff. Toilets could be cleaned more often!

Friend I was with in a business trip said how great this place is. Walked down and it was very good. Food was great and classic Italian dishes. They said small plates but seemed much more food than I imagined so be prepared for larger than I would expect dishes from a small plate restaurant. It definitely gets loud so be prepared for the high noise level. They take reservations so that will help you otherwise a good wait.

I'm just going to get right to it. I really enjoyed my spaghetti and meatballs. It was really tasty. But the portions were incredibly small. I mean, The Cheesecake Factory's spaghetti and meatballs is quadruple the size. The grilled octopus salad was also extremely small. It was not filling. The service was awful. Our waitress had an attitude since we sat down. At one point, we asked for more bread and he never brought it. I think I'd rather go to any other place in the city. Even McDonalds. Maria Pia down the street is much better.

Just heading out from a broadway show, a bit late in the evening and quite hungry, we felt like having something delicious but homemade tasty preferably, and we did have it!!!!! great lentil soup (my partner almost never likes it but he enjoyed it a lot). A very tasty octopussy carpaccio and an even more delicious lasagna bolognesa and tagliatelli bolognesa as well. Very good place to go if u happen to be around.

Nice located in Hells Kitchen, open space italian with a nice interior and atmosphere, good food and well balanced portions, good vibes and nice staff with a fast and good service

It was a nice evening and friends of mine had come in from out of town. We did not make a reservation and were given the option to wait or take seats at the bar. We were also told that we could sit outside which I don't usually do but my friends were ok with this so we did. The waiter gave us menus and took our drink orders-my friend and I stuck with tap water and the third friend ordered s mug of Nastro Azzurro. They brought us the most delicious Italuan bread, EVOO and olives. After looking at the menu and hearing the specials, my friends both ordered the skirt steak special and potatoes, one mashed, the other French fries. They could not stop raving about their steaks. I ordered the misto and pera-salad greens with thinly sliced pear with walnuts drizzled with balsamic vinegar. I then ordered the tortellini in cream sauce with peas and prosciutto. Both were delicious! Our waiter was very accommodating and attentive and answered all of our questions about the specials. I would recommend and return!

The service was very kindly and the food was Good. I recommend Spaghetti with meatballs and octopus carpaccio

so its amaxzing pricesf arer the bset and foogd amzinhg lovre it umm servidc yse graet adn FTas EAT THER NOW

This was our second visit here, first time we found it by chance, second time as a result of TripAdvisor. Great atmosphere, and the staff were really friendly sharing their stories. Candle light makes it a cosy and intimate place, with the doors opening out to the city in the summer. Great wine selection, both by the glass and the bottle with some great recommendations from the staff. We had a selection of tapas that were to die for, the cheese platter was excellent along with the truffle gnocchi pasta. This has become a true favorite of mine in NYC and will deffo be visiting next trip!

Previous reviews say it all. Good location mid town, interesting daily specials menu where we ate starters of grilled octopus salad and a goat cheese and mango salad, both innovative, well cooked and a delight. 2 pasta dishes from the standard menu complimented the specials and made for an excellent lunch. Service of a high standard, failed to achieve 5 stars as we felt prices a tad high especially $16 for a glass of rose served in a tumbler.

Cutest spot in the Hell's Kitchen/9th Ave area. Exposed brick, wooden tables, and chalkboard menus add to the picturesque restaurant. The restaurant isn't very large and is a neighborhood hot spot so it gets crowded quickly. Not a great spot for large parties but great for date night. The wine list is extensive and all the dishes including are fantastic. My favorite is the gnocchi pasta. Great spot for vegetarian and gluten free.

I went here for a glass of wine and a meal, the service was good and the wine was nice (i think the outrageous price of 18 dollars for a big glass is more New York than this bar(?)). I over sll enjoyed it but flavours are a bit blend and the mac n cheese with truffels would do better being either a full on american mac and cheese or lose the american "cheddar" and add some "real cheese" to match the truffle flavour. But I would come back though. The environment was supernice.

The food was absolutely fantastic. From the octopus salad special, pasta bolognese and cheese cake. Also had the broccoli Tabe as a side dish and can honestly say I have not had Rabe that good before ( not even my pie). They were cooked and seasoned perfectly And what made the experience better was the friendly, down to earth staff. I cannot recommend this place higher. Just a wonderfull pleasant and relaxed dinner.

What makes this place is the diner's ability to fine-tune the number of dishes to meet the appetites of the diners. There's an ample supply of appetizer-sized dishes a party or a couple can share. The food was good. The fourth star is lost because Aria's charm falls short of being a draw or a go-to. A significant detriment was the lack of a place to wait with a drink. On the other hand, I empathize with the restaurant's manager: I'd fill the place with diners, if I could, and some people are gracious about the awkward waiting. Dining can be fast, which, in this case, could be good. Here's the deets for me, the GF, and her friend, for a post-happy hour supper (Fri 08/26/2016): Pinot Nero "QT" (maybe a 300 or 400 ml carafe), 20 Campari and soda, 9 Carciofi (artichoke) and olives, 10 Bucatini Amatriciana, 12 Mozzarella tomato and basil, 12 TOTAL, 83 BONUS: Good value

This is one of the best restaurants I've been to in a while. Great selection of dishes at a very fair price and the taste of everything was just amazing. On top of the great menu they also always have great selection of specials. Good wine list (they also let you purchase a glass and a half) and friendly service. Leaves nothing to be desired. 100% recommend.

Stumbled upon this gem of a restaurant to have a meal before heading to the airport. I cannot recommend this place enough. Attentive, delicious and reasonably priced for the area. The barman who served me (Silvio i think) was excellent - although it was full, i felt like the only person in the restaurant. Try the crab cakes - its to die for.

I've been to this place twice for lunch. There was plenty of seating both times - no waiting for a table. I've only tried the pasta and it is $12. The first time I ordered the Tortelli prosciutto e piselli (tortellini with prosciutto, green peas and a creamy parmesan sauce). It was amazing! My friends' dishes were both also amazing. They had the Pappardelle cinghiale (pappardelle with slow braised wild boar) and the Tortelloni aragosta (lobster ravioli with pink vodka sauce). We used the bread to soak up the remnants of our sauces. The only problem is that if you are VERY hungry, you might still be hungry after you eat the food. The portions are certainly not the largest though the food is phenomenal. We were hungry enough our first time that we each had a pasta dish, shared TWO baskets of bread AND THEN ordered a dessert to split. The second time I came here was with a friend who was visiting from out of town, again at lunch time on a weekday. I had the gnocchi sorrentina (hand made gnocchi with tomatoes and mozzarella) and it was amazing. I really like gnocchi but generally am afraid of ordering it at places because I feel it can be difficult to get right. Their gnocchi was very very good. They also have a great lunch special that gets you a glass of wine and a pasta for $16.

Wonderful restaurant with plenty of light. Excellent service. The risotto and the rigatoni et gamberi where sooo good. Next time we’ll come night time!

Very good service, very good food. I strongly recommend! Excellent appetizers and main courses. The best tiramissu I ever ate.

If you are staying Midtown, but don't want to spend a fortune on good tasty food then I would recommend walking west a couple of blocks to Hell's Kitchen, where there is a clutch of really good non-touristy restaurants, one of them being Aria. It serves beautiful Italian tapas with a great vibe, at a really good price. Choose a few small plates to share, which cost between $7 and $12. Huge wine list too. Highly recommended.

We stopped into Aria yesterday for a spot of lunch. From outside looking in the place was inviting and the vast selection of wines against the back wall appealed to our senses. The manager (if that's what he is), with a white shirt and glasses - was initially very welcoming and gracious. We commented on the wine and he said he had 'just the bottle' for us - we asked for the list (have found in NYC that wine offerings often have no price given and are super expensive!) .. The wine being suggested was $14 small glass $32 large glass and $84 a bottle !!!! For a lunch time stop off, they have to be kidding!! When my partner ordered the lunch special, demeanour changed immediately ! Rude, offhand and indignant. We smiled as he went back to the bar and huffed 'lunch special' through gritted teeth. Food was mediocre, service dreadful, avoid this place !

We were headed to a Broadway show so stopped into Aria to have a quick dinner beforehand. They were very accommodating and the food was DELISH! Highly recommend!

Noisy NY restaurant. Nice decor. Small tables. Saturday night: the waiters were In a rush to get us out of the place. The food was tasty. With nicer staff, including a nicer hostess, this could have been a mice place!!!

We had a late lunch in this very attractive and reasonably priced restaurant and received excellent service from a waiter named Bernardino. I would highly recommend it.

We were greatly anticipating our meal at Aria on our trip to NYC on Valentine's Day weekend. We've been to SA numerous times, my wife born and raised there, and were very pleased to see a restaurant whose focus was on that country's superb cuisine. As excited as we were to arrive at Aria, we were wholly unsatisfied with the quality of the dishes. The biltong bruschetta arrived with shaved pieces of biltong on a sea of a tomato-based sauce covering what must have been the pieces of bread underneath - one would have to guess as they served more as a crouton to soup than as a pivotal component of a bruschetta dish. The tomato-based sauce over-rode the dish and left the biltong as little more than an ornamental flavoring that might as well have been bacon bits. The Boerwors and Pap small plate arrived at the same time - the boerwors was a poor attempt at this flavorful south african sausage, lacking the proper flavoring and fat any proper South African that would have ordered the dish would have been left longing for and a pivotal component to this dish. It was largely tasteless sausage. The drink specials and dessert offerings were more to par. We ordered a lychee based cocktail that was superb along with a port wine that was flavorful. The malva pudding was by far the best dish we had at this restaurant and was served alongside of scoop of vanilla icecream. We would have loved to have tried the koeksisters but they were sadly not prepared at the time of our dining. Happy to have seen an SA inspired restaurant but I would have surely liked to have seen more effort put into the execution!

Best spot for a cocktail and small plates sharing with friends and family! The General Manager and hosts greeted us with a warm smile and took our order quickly so that we could make our Broadway show. We had excellent cocktails, wine and delicious gnocci, tuna tartare, jamon, and we ctopus. On such a pretty street in Hell’s Kitchen, we’ll be back!

We just ate here this evening, the young lady on the door was brilliant she found us a table in 10 minutes sat at the bar which we didn't mind we were that hungry. The server with glasses asked us twice if we wanted wine we said twice no we didn't want any wine. Straight after the plates were collected he shoved us the bill which we didn't ask for the total was $51 We gave $60 the server then asked do you require change I said yes. The customer service throughout the meal was absolutely non-existent by the way. He stood staring at us whilst we checked the change He then suddenly says so you aren't leaving a tip I said no he then says do you not want us to get paid???? If you don't think you are getting paid enough find a better job, This argument was in front of all the customers by the way everyone couldn't believe what was going on, I said I'm reporting you. As we walked outside he then dragged the manager out saying this is my manager you need to complain to her she looked so embarrassed he was that crazy. Never coming back !!

This place was close to where we were staying in Hells Kitchen and after walking by several times, we finally tried it. It was so good we returned the next night as well, something we never do. They are fast even when they are busy, the prices are very reasonable and the food was delicious. The staff was very friendly. When we were leaving, the lady that greeted us when we came in was putting on her coat to walk customers to another restaurant up the street because she had no available tables at Aria. I got the feeling that the majority of the people there were repeat customers since they would usually get hugs from the staff when they came in. Just a great vibe. I recommend Aria highly.

Ducked into Aria's Wine Bar in Hell's Kitchen after walking in the light snow looking at the Christmas lights and decorated windows. We were seated at a table near the window which added to the ambiance. Busy restaurant with cozy atmosphere. Food was very reasonable and fresh. Nice wine list and attentive staff. All pasta items are $14. Very delicious and varied menu.

Aria is a great spot in midtown. If you have a Broadway show and don't want a tourist trap or need a spot for after-work dinner or drinks, Aria is perfect. Good food and good service, I've always had great meals at Aria.

I was looking for a place to have lunch and a friend gave me the address for Aria. I had been in this area many times and I was unable to place the location. When I arrived at the restaurant, i realized that up until recently, this had been a South African wine bar. I checked the menu and they were serving brunch at $14. I ended up getting a panini with prosciutto and kale pesto, mozzarella and tomatoes. It arrived hot, well melted and the bread texture was crunchy. I also got a cup of coffee and the waitress also brought me some bread with EVOO which was great. The sandwich was delicious. The staff was very accommodating-I would recommend and return.

Overall i like Aria Hells Kitchen as the food and atmosphere are really nice. Service is slow and when it is busy can be really slow. Prices are reasonable which allows for sharing several small plates. Their restaurant on Carmine St in the village is my favorite from the group.

Friends of ours recommended this little restaurant as they had loved it during their most recent trip. The place is tucked away from the chaos of Times Square yet still only a short safe walk. The restaurant is cute and cozy with a great vibe and appeared to be a great mix of ages, locals and tourists like us. The menu concept is great. Smaller shared meals at $12 (great selection) and pastas at $14 (also great selection) wine by the glass list brief but certainly substantial enough and the variety quite good. This is however where my 1st negative lies. When the waiter returns to our table with a white for my wife and a red for myself and pours the wines into small water glasses instead of wineglasses I was a little shocked. They weren't even the stemless wineglasses that some modern restaurants are using now, they were a generic ridged sided flat bottom small water glass. I looked around other tables to try guage if this had been a mistake however it seemed it wasn't as all other tables appeared to be drinking wine from water glasses with the exception of the 2 males on the table next to us. Maybe if you buy an expensive bottle rather than a few glasses you get upgraded to wine glass class of diner? The food was absolutely delicious for the prices and based on the food and vibe of the restaurant I'd have no problem returning again or trying one of their sister restaurants. This now brings me to my 2nd negative. Coming from 16 years working in high end hotels, wineries and restaurants I feel that tipping should largely be based on quality of service and experience overall. So far our 6 nights to date in NYC we have encountered some very ordinary service then expected to pay at least a 20% tip. While I understand these tips are to offset the lower rates of pay for waitstaff I still believe they should be earned not expected. While our waiter for evening was pleasant and in no way rude during the evening, his reaction to my 23% tip on a $110 bill left me with a sour taste to finish what was otherwise an enjoyable evening. When he returned to the table with the bill folder I had presented him to pay and basically questioned why I needed change I felt this to be a little rude. From my understanding 20% tips are usually reserved for above average service. I tipped above that even after the shock of drinking wine from water glasses and he was still unhappy. Heres a tip cut the arrogance, smile, be friendly without it looking cheesy and over the top and your tips will flow like rivers of gold.

My daughter wanted us to try this restaurant and it was Xmas Eve. The atmosphere with candles was the only good thing about this restaurant. It is actually split into two halves with the other half on the other side of the road. The waitress was not at all friendly and welcoming; she is in the wrong industry altogether. The tables are so tightly packed I was told to shift my body at least 6times so the table next to the window could be served or cleared etc. As for the toilets....well a) you could not pass anyone in the corridor so b) you had to wait in the corridor entrance..but the staff needed that for access to their micros screen, so you had to wait amongst the diners , because if you went back to your own table you would lose your place.and c) the toilet was gross when I finally got there, urine all over the seat and the floor soaking wet. My daughter left a tip which was not deserved...if it had been me I would not have left anything. I have had much better experiences in cheaper lesser restaurants. On reflection maybe we were in the wrong half.

The ambiance drew us in. A magical sea of tea lights flickered throughout this cozy establishment illuminating rows upon rows of wine. It was smokin' busy but we got a table quickly for 9 o'clock. No reservations. Just show up and take your chances but this street has a number of awesome little haunts to choose from so you won't be disappointed. We enjoyed a glass of wine, a fine fresh mixed salad and a series of pastas with flavour plus. The ricotta ravioli with asparagus was very flavourful and the spicy shrimp tomato based pasta was seasoned to perfection. We capped our meal with a chocolate souffle and Tiramisu. Both were exquisite. The restaurant is informal and the service was good. A wave of the hand brought servers immediately. We were very fortunate to have the owner on the floor that night. Djamel was so charming and entertaining. He made our night. Now, if you are looking for a formal 5-star where wait staff are hovering and a Maitre D' that walks you staunchly to your table, Aria is not it. This small, boutique restaurant is full of charm, is packed with 30-40 somethings, up-beat tunes and elbow to elbow tables. It is a social haunt with great food and fun atmosphere. We would go back in a heart beat.

My family and i went to Aria trying to eat some appetizers before a broadway show. We sat down and a very nice waitress came to helped us and explained everything politely. While we were deciding on what to order, in the middle of the restaurant the "manager" ( if he calls himself one) was screaming at the waitress in front of all the other guests. The waitress did not say a word after a minute of yelling or so. I looked at my husband and told him, let's get up and we are leaving. I told the manager that the waitress was a very nice guy and i told him that he did not deserved a penny from us. It is clear that this ( ITALIAN IDIOT ) is struggling ti sell some plates and it is taking it against the people that work for him. Please DO NOT GO HERE!!!

Although small, the ambience and atmosphere of this place was great. Perfect for a quick dinner before a show. The food was fresh and simple, great for sharing. My biggest complaint would be that the service was mediocre-server was short and seemed rushed throughout our dining experience.

UPDATE: We liked our food better on this second visit; excluding the linguine vongole (clams), which was over-sauced - but the sauce was good and the pasta nicely cooked. The sidewalk table was nice (if you exclude the usual issues with a sidewalk table). The Octopus salad special was a stand out. Here's the deets for me and the GF: Rose carafe 18 Cetriolo Tonic 12, gin, Aperol, tonic, and cucumber; didn't come together. I mix gin and Aperol at home with soda. It should've worked. Maybe it was the tonic. Prosciutto San Daniele, 7 Mozzarella Tomato and basil pesto, 12 Kale and pecorino salad, 12 Venetian spritz (Aperol Spritz), 12, good for NYC Linguine vongole, 14 TOTAL 124 SHOUT OUT to Ewelina for gracious service and excellent recitation of the specials Fri 08/04/2017 What makes this place is the diner's ability to fine-tune the number of dishes to meet the appetites of the diners.

I have been to Aria downtown and had a better experience. But yesterday I wanted to visit Aria Hells Kitchen and bring my family that is visiting from overseas. From the beginning, the attitude was wrong. There were tables away from the door but the waiter insisted they were reserved(small power complex), which we witnessed him maneuvering with flexibility throughout the night. The girl helping us had a slight arrogance, but the worse, the annoyance of being pushed to leave. I don't think that people helping often realize how their regular behavior often jaded by personal frustration and job dissatisfaction, is so apparent. Customers should not be able to notice your small conversations and looks of disdain or anger towards them.

My wife and I recently at the Aria in Hell's Kitchen. The prices were very reasonble and the food was quite good. My wife had the Linguine Vongole and I had the Tortelli Prosciutto E Piselli. Both dishes were very good. It appears to be a neighborhood hangout. We were eating around 9:30 and the place was close to full. It has a "vibrant" atmosphere. That is, it's pretty noisey but that's part of the charm.

My food was perfectly nice. I ate early (5pm) so it was quiet, but the maître d (owner?) didn't give me the time of day. No how is your food, no spoon for my pasta, no how was everything with the bill, no eye contact at all, and the staff evidently afraid of him (afraid to interrupt him flirting with female guests to ask him to get my check). He didn't deserve even the 5% tip I left....

In NYC for the marathon and looking for Italian food. This place hit the spot with classic affordable pasta dishes around $14 yet gave you a great restaurant atmosphere. Other runners were there too. If you don't mind the loud chatter, you will enjoy!

We were prepared to wait for a table however, once seated we were not prepared to have poor service delivered! The waiter did not tell us about any specials on the menu (we only found out by hearing his overworked colleague reciting to the next table)! The wine arrived in 2 glasses despite requesting one bottle and 2 glasses. We did not receive any bread until the time the main courses arrived. We enquired what desserts were available and the waiter struggled to recount. Between servings other staff cleared the table and requested the cheque as our waiter swanned around with both hands in his pockets. Food was reasonably good, just bad service that let it down.

Stumbled upon this small Italian restaurant close to where we were staying on 8th Avenue. It looked busy and inviting with a good priced menu. We had typical Italian meals of bread and olives, pasta with a glass of wine followed by very authentic and delicious tiramisu. We were served by friendly staff. Everything was well presented, hot, generous portions and so tasty. Very impressed. Food doesn't have to be complicated or over fussy.

The service was awful. When I asked the waitress if she had a Putanesca , she looked me down and gave me a smirk , as I was stupid. She clearly didn’t know what I was talking about , but could have answered that they didn’t have it in the menu ! Simple ! They kept pushing us to eat fast and leave the table free for other customers. The food was ok , but not even close to a good Italian dish. The place is uncomfortable due to many chairs in a small place. The tiramisu was delicious , though. Left 180 dollars, left hungry and got a lousy service. Too bad! But the good thing is that I know the place now and there are millions of better restaurants in town to chose from. Don’t waste your time there. Cheers 🥂 !

Ate there Saturday night, admittedly during a NYC heat wave. Should have walked out immediately when we discovered their air conditioning wasn't really performing. They had three ceiling fans but only one was working. It was unbearably hot, but with theater tickets and most places already booked, we sat down with a promise that the a/c was starting to work. Not even close. The meal was worse - and that's hard to accomplish. Four of us shared four small plates and they were all bad. The gorgonzola stuffed dates were inedible - so filled with sour cheese. Crab and Shrimp cakes were the size of a half dollar and tasteless. Olive Feta was also tasteless - how do you find olives without taste? My Cesare salad was a joke - it arrived with no parmesan, three fork fulls of romaine lettuce and no dressing. I asked for it to be dressed but never got any help - eventually used the oil offered for the bread, and that was watery. Another member of our group couldn't eat the roasted beet salad as it had a few beets and was drowned in chunks of goat cheese. We decided at that point not to order any more food and asked for the check. In the time waiting for the check, two of us used the rest room which was maybe 125 degrees and disgusting. Whilst waiting endlessly for the check we also saw the staff call uncle and stop pretending the a/c was ever going to work and they opened the two large doors to allow the 92 degree heat and street noise to permeate the dining room. I've lived in NYC for 40+ years and this is the singular worst restaurant experience I've ever had. This place should should ashamed to call itself a restaurant.

Delicious is an understatement! Fine Cuisine is better wording, instead! From the appetizer "Arugula a Parmigiano' to main course "Tagliatelle Bolognese" & the icing on the cake for dessert "lava warm miniature cake" was all considered PERFECTION! Do stop by if walking on the West side! When you stumble at Aria restaurant it's hard to leave. Food is immaculate, service is right on the point, decor fits well & atmosphere (inside & outside) is perfect! Btw, prices works out especially gratuity included! Thank you for having us & we look forward to return again!

I stopped into Aria Hell's Kitchen a few months ago; also saw they have an Aria in the West Village. I wanted to eat in the Hell's Kitchen Aria after going to the theater yesterday to celebrate birthdays. I read people's reviews on another site and almost didn't go after what they said about the service. I am so glad I didn't listen to those reviews. The hostess sat us outside like we wanted to, and our waiter Dino, and his assistants, couldn't have been more accommodating -- his recommendations were excellent, his attention to us was superb and our drinks, appetizers (oysters, mushroom bruschetta, calamari in red sauce), entrees (pesto gnocchi with artichokes, lobster ravioli in pink sauce, pasta & sausage), salads and desserts (chocolate lava cake & ricotta cheese cake) were incredible! Will definitely return in near future. Thank you for helping to make this a special day!

If you run a business, you want customer to have a good experience and hopefully you aim at their return. Here, the pasta were not cooked right, frying fast in the plate. Parmigiano was let’s say : different. And some cooks were in love ´cause it was too salty. Service was just polite although the decor is cozy. Last impression : forced gratuity, not announced... around 20% plus taxes.... this is as bad as marketing can get.... avoid.

I was alone and wanted a cozy place to be for a quick dinner. From outside, the atmosphere looked good so I went in. As I was alone, they pushed me to go to the bar but I didn't want so finally I got a table (I told them I would eat quickly anyway). Service was ok but nothing extra. Music was far too noisy...wonder how the other tables did to have a decent conversation. If I would describe the menu, I would say it is like italian tapas. Rather small portion (which was absolutely fine for me compared to the huge portions you get in this country). The asparagus were good. The lasagne was so so. Prices were reasonable but seeing the portion, I guess it was ok. Not being from USA, I have a basic problem with the high tips you are supposed to give as I am not used at all to this. I left a tip anyway (might have mixed currency and so) but they run after me saying it was not enough. That really annoyed me and I left this place with a bitter taste.

Was looking for a mexican restaurant before heading to see Finding Neverland on a friday night. We walked in around 5:30 and got a table right away. Service was good. Food was better than we expected. All of us had the taco trio, which could be picked from a great variety of about 12 soft shell taco choices. The gaucomole was also fresh and very tasty. The consensus was that we would definitely come back again.

A very busy location, quite noisy and somewhat congested. having said that the food is above average as was the service. A major disappointment was the Caesar salad. It could have used more dressing. The "Amarone" at 686 9th Avenue of two days before was much better.

This restaurant was recommended by a colleague and the restaurant, ambiance and food were excellent. The mushroom bruschetta is 6 delicious pieces, perfect for sharing. If you don’t finish them at the restaurant, take them home, they are equally excellent the next day in a toaster oven. I also had the pest penne and it was amazing. Their bread and olive oil starter is also wonderful. I have to say that the restaurant kitchen is small and from the bar seating you can see that the chef and staff of 3 are working wonders. I highly recommend the restaurant and know that I will return.

Delicious pasta dishes and tasty specials, you can taste the love in this food. Great value and attentive service, will go back

Went in to grab a quick bite and was pleasantly surprised about how inviting the place was and how good the food was. Our group enjoyed the pastas we ordered (spaghetti and meatballs, pesto penne, bolognese and seafood pasta). Lunch special of pasta and wine for $21 was a great deal!

Arrived just after 5:00 on a weekday afternoon and just beat the after-work crowd. The menu has many options; anyone will like at least a couple of items. I liked that the wine came in small, informal glasses - it reminded me of Europe. I thought the service was attentive and the food was delicious (meatballs, gnocchi, french beans in garlic). 4 glasses of wine and three food options, plus tax was under $70. Great for friends, parents, or a date - I will definitely go back!

My wife and I met a friend for dinner in this small place just off 9th Ave. very good pasta dishes. Bit slow on the service and more than a little noisy but still a pleasant time

Visited early evening & no trouble getting a table at this time but got much busier as the night went on. Pretty fairy lights & modern decor. Nice atmosphere inside. Plenty to choose from on the menu. Food was really tasty and arrived promptly. Service not quite as attentive as other places near by but by no means poor, it just felt slightly formal at times-I would have much preferred a more friendly & informal approach.

Lovely food. Terrible service and poor attitude of some of the staff. Could have been such a lovely evening but left wishing I had never set foot inside. Manners cost nothing.

Stopped a local walking her dog to ask for a good neighborhood Italian restaurant. Busy weeknight. Ate at the bar & watched the prep in the kitchen. Small spot but reasonably priced & good food. Saw Astronaut Mike Massmino there. Mango salad with warm goat cheese, gnocchi (ok) & orrichiette sausage ( a little light on the sausage). Desserts looked good.

Dined here the night before our cruise. Very efficient management, some outside tables, and excellent food. Prosciutto and burrata appetizer was excellent, fish dish very good, Beet salad and pasta dish also excellent. Highly recommend this restaurant.

I'm not sure if Italians have the equivalent to a "tapas" experience, but the first and second courses were smaller and priced accordingly. It was easy to share the selections among the three of us at this lively restaurant after theater. The wine selection is fairly extensive and reasonably priced by the glass or bottle. The young server was an eager fellow who didn't miss a beat even when the restaurant was full. I didn't like the table by the entry, but that's a minor detail in an otherwise enjoyable experience.

Had a luncheon meeting there and the food was a tasty as the meeting was productive! As a party of five two of us opted for the same meal; divinely fresh Blue Point oysters that were only $1 per with the caveat that you had to order a minimum of six. They were divine and tasted as if they just came out of the ocean. Yum, yum, yummy!!! The grilled Octopus Salad was like new food. Perfect portion size; filling and flavorful but ohhhhh so light. The steak across from me had robust char and was a generous serving with three pieces of steak. The fish dish next to me was a creamy filet sitting on a bed of mashed spuds and a healthy portion of sautéed spinach. I might order that next time. Would love to go back again as the room was bright and cheery. Al, our waiter was gracious and took good care of our table. Two thumbs up!!! ;~>

We have walked past Aria in Hell's Kitchen many times and always liked the look of the place. We decided to try it for dinner after a show. It was a very hot afternoon in the city and unfortunately, the restaurant provided no relief. We sat at the bar and intended to order but it was just way too hot, and after a glass of wine we left. Not sure if the AC was out or insufficient but. Will return on a "cooler" day as the place and the menu look interesting.

Great food on a small street in a neighboor hood! Tried it out for lunch and both servings where really good (crab sallad + lasagna). Warmly recommend it, curious about dinner here but we didn't have time for it...

awful service, full of sarcastic face pulling and unattentive staff, food was nice but would say go to the aria in Soho for the service alone.

FOOD: My friend and I ordered the octopus salad without bread. It was very meaty, grilled and seasoned well - we loved it! I had the sardines stuffed with pine nuts and raisins, served over sautéed onions - delicious!! The roasted brussel sprouts and baked beets were good. WINE: The wine-by-the-glass list including a few varieties that I didn't know. I tasted a verdicchio; it was nice, but too dry for the meal. Instead, I had a lovely rose prosecco. SERVICE: The man who was our waiter was rather inattentive. He took a long time to come to the table and take our order. I had to remind him that he offered a taste of the verdicchio, but hadn't brought it to me. Another staff person (who initially brought out water and bread) was much more attentive, friendly and responsive.

Excellent hidden gem Italian restaurant! Had the penne pesto with artichoke! Everything was delicious!

Mark and our waiter were so attentive & accommodating and the food was amazing! Mark even picked the wine for us and it was so amazing we drank two bottles! Excellent ambiance but seriously the food was a 10!

Called in after we couldn't get into our first choice restaurant. It was very busy which is usual for Hells Kitchen at night. The waiting staff were not the best, the food wasn't amazing. We had salad and a few tapas dishes to share, one of which was the rosemary potatoes. The potatoes were cold and undercooked.

We went with 7 pax, to catch up after a long time. To start with, the acoustics were very bad, so we couldn't listen to conversations. As a result of the bad acoustics people next to us talked so loud (screamed in fact) we were even more surprised that people even go there. Next to that the personnel was unfriendly and charged us 20% service fee/tip. Food was ok though. Had a bad experience!

Excellent atmosphere Fantastic friendly service Incredibly delicious food Great play list We all Loved it a Lot!! ❤️❤️❤️

2 of us went here for lunch. We were greeted promptly at the front door by our waiter. We ordered Pollo Arrosto $12.00 (chicken in a salad) and LInguine Vongole $14.00 both were excellent choices. I also had a glass of wine for $9.00. I was disappointed when looking at the menu, I could have had the house wine for only a few dollars more. The waiter never said that you could have the house wine for less money and the way the menu was placed on the table you only see the alcohol/wine/beer then when you flip the menu over it shows you that house wine is included with a meal for just a few dollars more. I thought that was very cheesy. But overall will be back because the food is good (portions are a nice size for lunch.)

We were seated right away outside, which for Saturday brunch was fantastic! The mimosas are worth the cost, 11 bucks. Service was friendly and not rushed or frantic. Please, oh please, get the Mac n cheese! It is HUGE and filled with creamy yummy goodness. Putting this place on my favs

We had a group of 4. The restaurant is tight and noisy, but fairly typical for mid-town. The waiter was prompt and kept coming back. English was not his first language, but he tried hard and explained things carefully. The appetizers and food came fairly quickly. The lobster ravioli was good, alsonthe creme brulee.

We arrived in NYC for a stopover, found this sweet place around the corner from our hotel. Our lunch was the lentil soup with vegetables, and the calamari stew - perfection with both dishes. The pinot grigio was lovely and Peroni good as usual. Highly recommend for travelers, it appears to be a neighborhood gathering place, which means it's a find for tourists like us.

We had dinner at Aria and were excited because it looked so romantic. Aria claims to have Italian food, but nothing could be less true. The food has Italian names, but tastes dull. The minestrone my partner had was sour and tasted like artificial vegetable broth. My clams tasted like old socks. My lobster had barely any meat and was chewier than lobster usually is, the tagliatelle were something a two year old could have cooked, the spinach was overcooked and the potatoes were sour. On top of that the waiting staff was upset that we did not like the food (nor that we only had some bites of the food and then asked them to clean up the table) and we were charged the full amount. Trust me.. save yourself the $100+ and go somewhere decent.

A bit outside of the mayhem of 5th - 8th Avenues, this place is a small italian like place with great service, great food and a really nice atmosphere to share and talk. Definitely a must in the area.

My girlfriend advice this place, I'm Italian so I was doubting to try it. Being honest, I compliment her for her choice. We ate outside, the place is little but very nice. Maybe a little too much 12 bucks for an appetizer, but the calamari were very good! $14 for pasta in Manatthan is a very good deal! Good portion and good flavor, we had spaghetti & meatballs, in the sauce there was maybe too much paper but the pasta was cooked well and meatballs were good, and tortellini prosciutto e piselli, very good! Than we had the cream brulè, DELICIOUS! I advice this place! Not 5 stars for the paper in the tomatoe sauce! O wait, they have such an amazing bread!

It true New York style it was very busy, people waiting for tables etc. We found the menu very limited but the food was good. Service a bit hit and miss, got the impression it was a new place. It wasn't bad but I wouldn't go back. Perhaps better for an arty crowd rather than us.

We stopped for a drink on Sunday, the last day of Gay Pride Week. Lots of party people. We got 2 premium seats in the front that had open windows so could watch the people on the street. Met some fun people. The featured Fruity Pebbles Martini was too much for some people!!!

It's a busy, noisy restaurant , tables are close together, but the food was amazing. We shared all of the dishes that we ordered, and all were delicious. The serving staff were both helpful and friendly.

I went Saturday in between classes at javits! Went back on Sunday! Very friendly staff and great food, quaint atmosphere... lovely sitting outside if nice weather!

Aria Wine Bar in Hells Kitchen is a beautiful little eatery with a variety of amazing wines. The food was delicious. We ordered three different dishes and all were perfectly seasoned and cooked to perfection. I didn't even need to add salt or pepper lol.

Great food, good service, very bubbly restaurant. Large portions, reasonably priced. Loved the little hide a way booths. Clean and very popular place. Need to book, as very busy.

We went to Aria for dinner on a recent business trip to New York City. It was nice eating outside under the umbrella while a light rain fell. The French food was solid and we had a nice conversation with Jenie the manager.

Seventy dollars for two, with drinks for one, including tip and tax. Most delicious and handy to Broadway theaters. Look hard--the name is barely visible near the door through a wall of window panes.

Recommended by a friend and we tried to book via Tripadvisor and Open Table but no slots we’re available for a Friday night. We called in on the off chance and they had lots of room and quickly seated us. Food was excellent as was the service and margaritas. This was the first time we’d had the chance to relax and enjoy a meal with real crockery and cutlery since arriving in NY. Would certainly recommend if you’d like a relaxed meal and drinks in a great atmosphere and venue.

We were walking with no place in mind for lunch and saw Aria. Great value for our lunch. Excellent house wines, great atmosphere and delicious food. My friends and I were there on a girls weekend and we will definitely tell everyone to try this restaurant.

After spilling an entire beer in my lap, followed by the comment 'these things happen' by the manager, the comp was that my beer was paid for, and an unasked-for dessert. The manager defended his poor judgement, and the waitress was aggressive to the point of saying that I was waiting for an excuse not to tip her. Wow!! When did this become acceptable?

Three family members and a friend arrived with early reservations, and found the place nearly empty. The decor and atmosphere were very nice, but the service was slow and non-attentive. It took a long time to get drinks, and then also to get food. My allergic daughter's food had to be redone b/c of gluten in the sauce. I believe the remaining meals were fine, but the delays made it difficult for us to get to the play on time.

Great choices of wine and pastas. Close to theaters, stopped by for dinner before a show. All staff was very graciously & helpful with menu choices. Pasta with shellfish special was awesome. Would love to go back again.

I came here on a business dinner this week and have been to this location and WV many times. I ordered the same dish I always get, the bolognese and suffered horrible food poisoning! Do not eat here! I called the restaurant multiple times and they did not take any of it seriously saying they’ll “investigate the meat” ... suspect. I never received a call back or reimbursement for the horrible meal I had to re-live. Never coming back here or bringing my clients again. Disgusting!

Finally, the Hell's Kitchen area has some exceptional eateries. Aria is one of them (and it's only a few good dining places in the HK neighborhood!). Tucked away from the crazy crowds, on a quiet strip, Aria delivers amazing quality in its food, wine, ambiance, and service. Small shareable plates (my lobster kale salad and lamb chops were delicious!) coupled with great wine (the Chardonnay by the glass is an awesome summer wine) plus the friendly and prompt service (very cool uniformed spunky yet professional and knowledgeable servers) make this place a wonderful rarity for both NYC and the HK area.

Went to Aria with my wife for a casual pre-show dinner and some wine. Very cool space, rustic and bustling. Service was outstanding and the food was amazing. Minimal wine list, but just what we wanted. Lively spot, outdoor seating, away from the masses but 5 minute walk to everything. Highly recommend Aria.

Long story short, we thought we made our xmas party resevations here but we made at other location. Katarina stepped right up and made sure we could still accomadate 14 of us. Then Marc came to make sure all was good. These 2 as well as our wait staff went over and above to make this night special for our staff.. Food was amazing... It will be our go to place when we come ack to NYC

I have never eat bad in New York - until today. However I cannot say I ate bad at Aria either - I did not eat at all - what was served as linguini con le vongole was inedible disgusting concoction coming from the kitchen from hell - lasagna resembled of the frozen food aisle in low end grocery store - total disgrace for any decent cook - service was in line with food - unfriendly and inattentive - the whole experience was so disappointing...#restaurantfromhell #culinarynightmare

We stopped here and based on the menu and the look and feel of the atmosphere we stayed for dinner. The food was average - I had the bolognese, I usually find this a good gauge of an Italian restaurant. Our main complaint was with our waiter (or lack thereof). Matteo was more interested in looking at his phone while hanging out near the bar than he was in checking on how we were doing. He took our initial drink order, came back with those and took our dinner order and we never saw him again until we had to wave him down for the check. Based on the just okay food and Matteo we would not go back or recommend.

Went to dinner there with my husband The starters were not good and the pasta and lazania wasn't tasty the wateriest asked if it was good and i said no and ate nothing from the meal and 2 bites from the lazania and they still charged us on the meal after i asked and the manager argued with me she took the pasta off the bill it was not pleasant and rued But just when i got home i saw we were over charged for the wine we asked for a glass and was charged more Any how the food is not good and the service too So never again and don't recommend

Love to get their lamp chop small plate (not really with two meaty chops and potatoes) with whatever else looks good among the vegetable choices and split a pasta. Don't pass up the tiramisu !

The food was very good...quick, too! So much to choose from I could barely make a decision. Would love to be able to return so I could try some different items.

Recently went to NYC and stopped off at this place for lunch . I liked the decor , very NYC ,clean and interesting. Had a mushroom risotto which was delicious. Good friendly service . Id go there again.

Visited Aria for a light dinner and got really good Vongole. Wines sold by the glass were all Italian and the glass itself a rustic low glas said to be typical from Lombardia. For me more typical as a tooth brush glass in the bath room. Anyway, the Pinot Grigio was fine and went well to the Vongole.

Our favorite lamp chop orders were delivered twenty minutes apart and the pasta was cold. They replaced the pasta but it still wasn't right. The waiter did give us a glass of wine and went on to serve other customers. Prices for their small plates used to be $10 and are now $12 (20% increase) while the results fell.

Had the perfect pasta dish, real italian style. The prices are super fair, and the wine card is really good as well. It can be crowded in the evening, so book a table.

The Cesar salad although tasty was very expensive. A single portion of the salad cost $12.00. Portions for the entrees were small as well. My pasta entree was very very salty. My friend had the lasagna and he thought it was very good. Be aware and double check your bill. They added the gratuity on without letting us know. Our food came quickly. Could be because we were they around 5pm before the big rush. Our waiter was ok. Didn't even tell us what the specials were nor come by to see if everything was ok. The bus boys were attentive. Tables are small. The bar area looked nice. Good ambiance.

We had a fun evening with good friends, but the food was not as big a part of that as the service. Bread wonderful, meatball, octopus, goat cheese, and shrimp scampi appetizers were solid, but not exceptional. My husband had the wild boar papardelle, which he liked. One in our party had the branzino special, and the server was great about accommodating some changes. Linguine with clams was (as others have said) oversauced and actually gloppy. The air conditioner was blowing full-blast with the door-wall open, which was annoying, and not ecologically sound, but that's quibbling.

Sweet baby J. We popped in here because it was open late night. It was a little stuffy when we got in but shrugged it off. We sat at the bar and got super cold (yay!) wine from a bartender who treated these two out of towners with about as much love as you would the chewed gum you flick off your shoe. Maybe he was angry from the heat because at this time we realized the AC was completely out. However, the apps, awesome; our pasta dishes, great; the wine, cold. The food came out fast but it was delivered with the enthusiasm of a haggard, hot bartender. Picture the emoji with the flat line mouth, that’s what we got all night.

Great atmosphere, a lot of wine's to choose from, good for date night, small space for groups or large parties, decently priced food, small portions, but everything was very fresh.

It was a hot day and sitting outside in the shade with a few glasses of cool white and rose wines hit the spot. not only was the service great, but the recommendations were stellar. Highly recommend this place for wine and want to come back to try their food - the menu looked good but we had already eaten when we stumbled across this place.

As any restaurant in Manhattan, it's extremely loud, which for European customers may feel tiring, however, the setting is really come, the food is great and price quality is really good. Went on three occasions already, still love it!!

Don't go there! The servers aren't nice, they don't want me to sit at the bar to drink JUST one glass, "You need to eat!" (but is it a bar right? It says ARIA WINE BAR !!!) because we only consume glass of wine ... (it was just 20minutes, because of waiting my friends for a table) and we get yelled at by this waiter (bald guy) "put your bag under the bar it's been twice that I tell you" ah good sir but I hadn't heard and I don't see how it bothers you! Then we eat at the table but here we don't drink enough apparently so we are asked to finish quickly food and wine because there is a reservation uh .... there are three tables available! Finally they add 20%tips that I of course asked to remove, that's a joke!!!! TIPS IS IF YOU'RE NICE, YOU'RE HORRIBLE!!!! And... wine in poor glass of water... But i told you... the decoration is nice.... it could be a nice restaurants with a motivated team and friendly team!!!

Just moved into area and searched out our first meal. Great find right across the street. Enjoyed a great salad and lasagna. Service was good and price right

An open and airy, modern setting that comes across as very inviting. Staff professional but rather distracted. Mediocre food that is saucy and filling but seems mainly for the Chef Boyardee generation.

Below average meal, salad starter was as it said green no dressings, pizza very disappointing seafood pasta overcooked and bland, Hells Kitchen is an understatement

Their food is great but be prepared for rude staff and servers. Always busy so good luck if you find a table. Quite claustrophobic and noisy. It is worth to try their menu for a great price. Do not plane in advance a dinner there better to be surprised if you are allowed to be in.

This was our second visit to Aria Hells Kitchen. The food was excellent, service great and the atmosphere very lively. Mark runs a very tight ship and it’s amazing to see what that kitchen can produce,

I had the wild boar pasta and my wife had the truffle mac and cheese and we both loved it. The atmosphere was great and the server was very attentive. We would definitely go back to try out different food. Very well priced also for Hells Kitchen.

Visited for dinner and we were seated at the bar as the tables where full, which wasn't an issue for us. In someways you get a better service as you have the barman directly ahead of you. The food was good and full of flavour so couldn't fault it. Wine & Beer was a little expensive for the type of restaurant to us. A bottled beer(no draft) was $11 and the Chianti $16 for a small glass. Check came which I queried as the starter was showing as $19 and not $14, but was told that is what we had the Mango salad, took his word that the check printed Mango and not Goats Cheese. We presumed the salad had Mango in it but we hadn't noticed but only part printed on the check. When walking past the day after had a look in the window and it was wrong as the Goats was 100% $14. Our own fault for not asking for the menu to check the price. Would go back and eat again so the food must have been good but will treble check the bill.

Loved it! They opened early for us even. Truffle Gnocchi is a must ❤️ The fresh bread and burrada is amazing

Really cute restaurant with good food and fantastic prices. Would easily rank as a 4 star if not for spotty service. I have never been to a restaurant where I saw SEVERAL servers hide back in the corner of the restaurant behind a large rack of wine bottles to look at their cell phones in the middle of service. The resulting delays in taking orders for food and drink were not surprising. Management needs to take note - not a good look.

We came across Aria when we walked away from Time Square to find something different. The staff were very friendly, specials and recommendations given and the food was delicious. Warm, cozy setting with wine bar and tables. Definitely recommend!

Incredible service from Ryan, doubled with great food( at great prices), made for a very pleasant experience. We sat outside, very nice. Great prices, menu had 4-5 prices for all the appetizers, salads, soup and entrees. Suggestion post the daily specials with prices.

We had 7:00 reservations but didn’t get seated until 7:30. Nice folks serving but nothing unusual in terms of food. Pasta was flavorful but not very hot. Still, a nice outdoor setting on the street with an active vibe.

Joined some friends at Aria for an impromptu lunch and was pleasantly surprised by the ambiance and food. A quaint location, albeit small, very nice. Our server was excellent and provided a great option for lunch, the wild boar pasta. Nice choice to try. Already planning our next visit with family.
Racists, they kick us out!
Me and my girlfriend went to Aria, there was space available but they would not let us in. They sent us to another restaurant but the other did not have what we where looking for so we came back. They gave us 2 bar sits but after 5 minutes they made us move. We did no want to make any trouble so we moved. After a couple of minutes, and before we could finish our first drinks, the manager came and told us that they needed our sits (there was other empty spaces still) I asked him why and he would not tell me. While going out I heard them say in italian some racists things toward us, even though we did not do anything but trying to have a nice drink.
