Love the foods! Everything is delicious. Especially their drunken noodle. I added on fried chicken for $5. So Yummy

Best place we ate in during our New York stay found by chance not the biggest of places and was really busy food to die for very authentic one of the best Thai curries ever

This small restaurant offers Lunch special during 12.00-15.30. The taste is good but not authentic. They may not be able to find some important ingredients. The service is fast and their staffs are very friendly though.

Nice place Nice Thai food. One of my best restaurants choice after school. Me and my friends often go for a dinner.

I came here all the time for LUNCH. They were so quick. Only sometime that they got really busy that I got the food late but it was OK. This time I try DINNER. The food came so fast. And the portion was huge. We got Pork Noodle Soup, this one was so Authentic. We also got Pad Thai. This is the best Pad Thai I had ever have. I gave this place 5 stars for food. And the service is friendly.

Nice little thai spot, has great lunch deals for around $8-10. A couple tables for dining in. Take out. As its neighbouring Kuu Ramen this place gets pretty busy for lunch:)

Hands down my favorite go-to Thai food restaurant in FiDi. They have the best appetizers and tasty wok and curry. Everything is authentic and delicious. Must-go if you are visiting/sightseeing around Wall Street.

It tasted like we still in Bangkok! The Thai tea was outstanding as was the Chicken Pad Thai! Service was not that friendly but very fast and efficient. We will be back for lunch here another day!

Just got a takeaway from here as there were no tables available at the time. The food was of a great quality and full of taste. Small interior but take the chance that a table will be available or wait, it will be worth it!

After a walk in Battery park on a Saturday noon we entered the Winter Garden Atrium and continued walking through the Oculus. We came out at John street and found this nice Thai restaurant for lunch. For starters we ordered the Som Tom Papaya Salad which was very good (they ask you how spicy you want it), sticks of green papaya with tomato, carrot and peanuts in spicy fish sauce dressing. I believe a Thai restaurant can always be valued by their papaya salad and this one was very good. For mains we ordered Beef Pad Thai and Crispy Pork with Eggplant and Basil. The Pad Thai was very good and rich in taste. The crispy pork was sometime too crispy and dry but with the eggplants, sauce and rice was very good (and spicy). All in all, it was good Thai food for good price. I'm sure I'll return here.

Good option for a quick bite (eat and go) when in Financial District. The place is tiny with barely 5-7 tables to sit and eat but for such a small place they pack a solid extensive menu. We tried their soup, dumplings, salted edamame, thai curry with rice and stuffed eggplant. The stuffed eggplant was too oily but rest of the dishes were fairly good and portions too were adequate. Great value for money.

The menu was quite diverse and the staff was nice. While the waitress didn't talk much we still felt like the service was good enough. We had the Pad Thai and some other curry entree and we liked it. The only negative aspect is that the place is very small so I would recommend using takeout.

This tiny Thai restaurant is located in the Financial District, right next to our hotel (Artezen). We ate there twice during our stay in New York. Nice welcome, tables without any comfort. The cuisine is delicious and is comparable in quality to that enjoyed in Thailand. We tasted nems, wonton soup and coconut milk soup. Everything is tasty, slightly spicy. Thai teas with milk served cold are also very good. A very nice address at decent price for this excessively expensive city.

I love thai food but, I am picky - you can't take me to just any Thai restaurant. The decor was eclectic and fun, the waitstaff was warm and welcoming and made excellent suggestions upon finding out that was my first time visiting their establishment. The food was fresh, well presented and soo good. I am already planning to return!

Very welcoming staff. The service is super quick and friendly. My food was very good can’t wait to come here again!

This is some seriously good Thai food for $10-$14. During the week the lunch crowd makes a line out the door. We went during the weekend when it was peaceful and sat at a table. Everything was delicious including the drunken noodles, the red curry and the rama. Ambiance and decor are non-existent. But the food is good (maybe excellent?) and it won't break the bank.

Got our food to go really fast and really good for money would recommend to anyone Value good 2 meals to take out 22 dollars thats cheap for food in New York

I bumped into this place and decided to try since a love Thai food. It is a very small place with limited seating. Many people opted for takeout. The food was great and for a good price. A good place to eat Thai food in downtown Manhattan.

Had a sit down here and also another night grabbed a takeaway as was close to hotel and food was good! I had a pad Thai when sat in and a drunken duck noodle when had a takeaway. Both were good but latter was fabulous! It’s not a Michelin star restaurant but also isn’t a street food venue! Staff are polite, place is clean etc. It is refreshingly cheap with a full on dinner costing less than $20. Would go back ... only thing that I reflect on is whether the place had a toilet?

Small restaurant with Big flavor in their food. Was at home being half Thai. Wonderful coming back soon so if you’re ever in manhattan stop by for a flavorful surprise!

Even open Sundays which is a plus in this nabe. My papaya salad was sprightly and well spiced. Would go again.

Summary, for those averse to reading long essays: Good: Inexpensive, fast service Bad: Marginal quality of food Recommended: Not really Now the details: Aroy Dee is another hole-in-the-wall size restaurant, right next to Kuu Ramen. I always wondered why it is nearly empty when Kuu is packed, and attributed to the fact that Aroy does mostly deliveries. Today I decided to try it. So, now I know! I played it safe and ordered Pad Thai (soft rice noodles) with tofu, mostly because I had it at dozens of other places so I could compare, but also because this is a dish hard to screw up. Well, they almost managed it! The noodles were quite unremarkable, and the sauce had a strangely off-putting smell. Worst of all, the couple pieces of tofu in it had the consistency, and taste, of an old leather sole. Service was fast but no-nonsense, and the quantity of food modest but adequate. At $10 this could have been an acceptable cheap eat had it been reasonably good. Unfortunately, it was not worth it. Maybe their curries or other dishes are better, but I don't want to waste another meal trying to find out. If you are in the neighborhood and are dying for Thai food, Aroy Dee may do it for you. Otherwise, move on to something better.

This place is very small, but we were comfortable, as we had 2 small tables put together for us. We were all very pleased with our food and left satisfied. I don’t know much about Thai food, so I can’t compare, but I can say that the food was very tasty and reasonably priced. They gave me the wrong side, that was the only negative. The mango & sticky rice is delicious, as well as the heaven chicken. I cannot spell any of the other entrees we had but they were all great. I would recommend it.

Highly recommend their curry and the crab fried rice!curry has lots of variety. The ducks also look super delicious 😋

If you are tired and hungry and want some Thai food to reenergize yourself, I recommend this restaurant. Although the place quite small but the food is best and the service is great. You can taste the real Thai taste here.

The food is amazing and as a tea lover, I go here every morning and evening for dinner just so I get to have tea! Ever around the Manhattan area, must visit!

I had the red curry and it was really pretty good. It came with rice and was a fairly large portion of food. I ordered at the counter because I didn't know if they had table service or not but as I ate I did see people sit and get served. The food came out fast and was fresh and hot. This is a very small place, very casual with metal chairs and only about 8 small tables. Good for "to go" food. Diverse menu and daily specials. Friendly staff. I enjoyed it very much,

Affordable restaurant between Ground Zero and NYSE. The menu is varied. Kindness of the team. We had to eat quickly and ended up getting takeout and eating later. The children (young children) really liked it too. Full of flavors and subtleties. Not greasy either. I would like to point out that there are only soft drinks on the drinks menu.

Took to-go but was fast, safe and delicious. the dumplings are $3 11-3. Had the veggie and was happy I got those as well.

If you like Thai, this is the best Thai in Downtown NYC. Drunken Noodle, Pad Thai and Taro Spring Rolls are very good and a great value. Massamun Curry was also quite good. Eating in could be tricky as its very small with two or three two person tables and a bar like counter housing five people. Take Out is the best option unless you come after 2:30 pm (lunch hour rush) and then its fine. Portion sizes are very good and if ordering for pickup, please give 15 minutes for food to be ready. Also Lunch Specials are available. You can get better Thai at TumYum in Upper Manhattan or Tue Thai in the Village but Aroy Dee is very good for its area. I will definitely be back.

Fantastic! The duck curry was amazing - sweet, spicy and crunchy, as was the papaya salad. Also enjoyed mango w sticky rice. Will be back!

the food is absolutely delicious and definitely worth the price, perfect for a college budget! i’m here too much

It tasted like we still in Bangkok! The Thai tea was outstanding as was the Chicken Pad Thai! Service was not that friendly but very fast and efficient. We will be back for lunch here another day!

Very affordable. The food was delicious. I specially recommend the Pad See Ew. The restaurant doesn’t have enough tables tho.

Great Thai food! Highly recommend for dinner! Come for dinner. Order everything Thai hot!!! I came here for dinner and enjoyed

Cold green been is light and tasty. The Drunken noodles is really good, worthy of coming back. And the staff is friendly.

Thai chef, great food. We tried the padthai, fried rice and soft-shell crab curry and Tom yang noodle.

Good and affordable authentic Thai right by 9/11 museum. I recommend the Pad See Ew with beef, and Papya salad - nice and spicy! Don't forget mango and coconut sticky rice!

I have been here with 4 friends. We all have been happy with the food and the price. You can get a very nice meal around 10$. The staff is nice. Only thing we didn’t like is that the place is very tiny therfore at lunch time you never find place to seat but they do takeaway or delivery. I recommend it.

Popped in for a quick supper. Red chicken curry and green shrimp curry. Both came with jasmine rice. Both dishes were delightful, arguably the best Thai curry’s we have ever eaten! Plus the portions were enormous, I ate about 60% of mine and my partner ate less than half. Bit embarrassed about that as the food was delicious. Total bill $35! Unbelievable as well.

I've been eating there twice this week, and I can recommend it if you want Thai-food in the financial district. Heavenly chicken is tasty, and my friends ate curry and a spicy thai salad. Good price and friendly staff.

I just finished a takeout meal from there and it was below par. The Tom Yum soup was horrible. The wings were mediocre and the red curry was also. I live in VA and work in NYC and I can name 5 Thai restaurants in Richmond that are better than this. "Big city" does not equate to authentic and good. Positive - online ordering was easy.

Our favorite Thai place in the NY metro area. Great food, friendly staff, and good prices. The taro spring rolls are crispy and tasty. Roadside noodles are super delicious and the side of soup hits the spot. It’s a good thing they aren’t close to home otherwise I’d live here

Delicious food, straight vibing. curry is amazing, and you gotta get the fried shrimp & chicken dumplings

Small Thai restaurant with nice atmosphere. I had the crispy chicken ("heaven chicken") and it was a large portion and tasted wonderful. Plus a bowl of very nice soup on the side ! But to be honest: more Chinese than Thai. Good value for money.

Wow! Lovely small Asian restaurant that we went after reading the complements here. The server attended us with kindness and a smile. The food is cheap but the quality and taste are so rich. We got our meals really quick, matter of minutes, straight out the Wok If your visiting downtown you must eat here

I've been ordering food from Aroy at least twice a month. The food is always fresh, delicious and (to the best of my knowledge) authentic. One of my particular favorites is the Red Curry Chicken with Pumpkin. It's a combination I've never had before and works incredibly well. Must-try! The Tom Kha Kai is also very nice, but rich as it's supposed to be. With regard to a previous review; don't go to a Thai restaurant and order wings...

Was hoping for a best of breed experience here based on the line of folks waiting for food but I was disappointed. I ordered a lunch Pad Thai extra spicy and after a 25 minute wait it came out totally bland. Decent flavor but no spice whatsoever. They do have a spice tray to punch the food up but I can get spicier Thai back home. Lunch portions were also quite small. Will find another place for lunch next time.

Its not too crowded and the food is good. Staff is super friendly and lovely. I wish I could come here every day.

I came from Bangkok, Thailand. Really want to have Thai food. Luckily I found this place. My server was so helpful help me order. I really want to eat spicy food so I got Sautéed ground pork in Basil sauce plus Sunny-side up. just $11.98. The taste was so Authentic, i also request for Thai spicy so I got the taste I like. Really reccommended!!!

Food was plentiful and delicious. This had a made from scratch taste that didn't compare to the average Asian cuisine. The iced tea was a definite need to order too.

This place is great , best Thai food in downtown Manhattan . My husband and I love coming here for dinner. Small dining place with a pleasant atmosphere. The staff is nice and friendly. The food comes quickly and is tasty. A must try place !!!

a small place on John Street, near the World Trade Center, they have an excellent lunch special every day 11:00-3:00, we had the chicken Pad Thai, for only $8 ! came with a small cup of seaweed soup, which was quite tasty ( add lemon, even better ). There are only a few tables inside, service was very fast, hostess was friendly, food tasted very good.

Had a fantastic lunch here on Monday. Ordered the chicken Gra Pow (my Thai staple) and asked for it to be spiced up and whilst it wasn’t “Thai Spicy”, it had a good kick and was really tasty. My friends had Duck and Chicken dishes which were both spot on. Tiny restaurant but a fantastic spot for lunch!

The whole staff seems to be Thai and very nice. The food is good but nothing special. But since the portions are really big you get your belly full.

I went for lunch this past week and had a very tasty chicken basil fried rice. I thought that for $10 bucks they could have given me a little more. Portion was rather small, but overall very tasty.
Darn good for the price/area
Showed up with a group of 13. It's a small place so pretty much took up all the tables. Our dishes were simple, Thai fried rice with various meats, drunken noodles, soup and some calimari/papaya salad for appetizers. Food was hot, fresh, spicy and good portions. Only critical thing of the evening was that there is no AC in the place. And the night was hot and humid. One other thing, did I mention that the place was small? So small that in fact there's no restrooms in the place. They provide a tag/pass and one may use the restroom next door. ;-)
