Okay Mexican

By M-Travel-99 |

Not bad food. Usually very crowded and with tight spaces. The food is good and decent quantities for NYC. Prices are acceptable again for New York standards

People who live the site.. it's super

Fantastic Experience - return visit

By David G |

Having visited this restaurant on our first visit to New York 4 years ago we loved it and when we decided to come to NYC again we knew we had to come back and it did not disappoint. The California burrito rolls are to die for and followed by the deep fried ice cream the food is incredible - there is nothing quite like it. One note - The music is very loud but as kids of the 90s we were loving it with Britney Spears, Backstreet Boys and Spice Girls. The restaurant is dark and the tables are crowded together but I feel that adds to the vibe, but can appreciate it might not be in everyone's taste. Overall it was well worth going to and the next time we visit NYC we will definitely be coming back for a third time.

worth finding

By Brenda L |

went here on advice from our hotel, it was a great place to go and the food was really good and so was the service.

Yummy Food, Big Portions!

By WorldTraveler0505 |

My friend & I went here before a Broadway show on a Saturday evening. The restaurant was full of people, a good sign that it must be good! I had the chicken fajitas which were amazing.....the chicken had the perfect seasonings along with the peppers and onions.....& they were sizzling hot which was a plus! The guacamole was fantastic too. The chips & salsa tasted home-made....I'm not sure if they are, but they were also great....I saw pieces of real onions and garlic in the salsa. The only con to the restaurant are the tables. They are too close to each other & too small.....all the plates for the food & drinks cannot even fit on them! When someone got up, or waitress walked by, your table always got bumped into. The outside sitting looked much more comfortable, but it was too humid to sit there. I would definitely come back though because the food is the best!!!

Hmmm

Fantastic Margaritas

By Michele J |

Among the best margaritas I’ve had. This was our second visit, this specifically because our last was so delicious! All natural ingredients; they purée fresh fruit which gives the sweetness, no sugar added. Happy hour all night on Mondays, but two on a Tuesday before a show was perfect! The watermelon was my favorite.

Great people watching

By Lynnep_Willerby |

Really good vice, we sat under cover outside in a rain storm and the service, food and drinks were all great. Better than some authentic places we've been to in Sol Cal.

Great Deals and Wonderful Margueritas

By Coleen W |

I had the pleasure of having lunch here on a recent trip to NYC. We got guacamole for the table and I got the taco salad. We also sampled several types of their variety of margueritas! Everything was delicious and affordable (especially by NYC standards). I will definitely not hesitate to eat here again.

Great Mexican!

By Voyage052007 |

Great little Mexican place. After a long day of walking around the city we sat down to margaritas and chimichangas. Friendly staff with quick service. They do not take reservations and we lucked out and sat down right away. Extensive menu and everything we had was delicious! Only complaint was the tables are tight and close together not much room to move around.

My favourite restaurant in the coty

By Rebecca |

If you like texmex and are a snob for great guacamole and margaritas, this is the place for you. Very casual, cool environment with funky artwork. Margarita options are endless with size options going as large as they do in Mexico! I’m such a stuck-up for good guacamole and love a good taco shrimp salad and they did not disappoint! 10/10

Fun Mexican Restaurant

By TravLBRo |

Stopped here for margaritas and some apps after a broadway show. Great atmosphere, good food and service.

Good Mexican food & service

By Matt P |

We found this place via google maps and were not disappointed. Very welcoming staff matched with stunning cocktails and a good menu all add up to a really great value lunch.

Delicious Food

By Adam B |

We met a friend for lunch. The staff was nice and friendly during our visit, recommending different menu items. Their credit card machine was down during our visit, but they were up front about it before we even ordered so we knew it was cash only that day. The food was really good; it came out hot and exactly as ordered. The prices are reasonable. Would definitely recommend if in Hell's Kitchen area.

Good food - rude service

By Summer S |

The food was good, but the servers and hostess were rude. We felt like they were bothered by us being there. Not a family friendly restaurant. With so many other restaurants to choose from in this area of the city, this is a no go. It was also old and seemed dirty. No thanks. The bathrooms were tiny. They had candles lit above the toilet with matches left by the side. The whole building could have burned down. Do not take children there. You will regret it.

Food is as good as the atmosphere

By jgans16 |

I LOVE this place and visit every time I come to NYC, which is a few times per year. It's especially fun at night with upbeat music and candle-lit tables. It feels like a party. The mole (whether you order enchiladas or the chicken mole) is the best I've ever had. Service has always been great, too.

Absolutely fantastic experience

By Helent1987 |

Gorgeous food, amazing wait staff, reasonably priced, totally inclusive...what more could you want?!

GREAT mole, AWESOME vibe, but...

By NHJimmy |

This was our second visit and second review - we came four years ago and love this stop for good Mexican food in easy walking distance from Broadway shows. In Hell’s Kitchen, this place is worth a visit for the margaritas alone. It has a festive vibe, funky lightning and really friendly wait staff. The mole sauce was GREAT!!! The margaritas were awesome both frozen and on the rocks. There is only one reason why this isn’t a five star review - the food should have come from the kitchen hotter than it was, it was luke warm and that is a shame because it detracted from otherwise really good food and great service. We had a good time here after our show, we’d go back and would recommend it as a great escape from the touristy places in Time Square if you are looking to parlay a show with dinner. Thank you Arriba Arriba!!!

Our favourite meal during out stay in New York

By claire9043 |

Had a great meal here during our recent stay in New York. We arrived on a Monday evening and were sitted without a wait. It isn't the biggest restaurant but had a great vibe. Chips and salsa were set down as we arrived and these were delicious. Offered more when they were done as well. We had some frozen margaritas which were very good. We both had chimichangas and a portion of wings. We both loved everything that we had. Very reasonably priced. If we ever return to New York I know we would probably come back.

The Fiesta Continues Despite Itself

By Todd W |

Here for seemingly ever, this is a great place for mediocre Mexican and drink specials that will help you forget that fact. Renowned for group outings... take care not to overdo it on the drinks, especially if you’re seated across one of their sometimes snarky bartenders. (But, hey, it’s tough keeping the party going for stressed out NYers).

Fun Mexican Restaurant!

By Sleetr |

We visited on a weekend evening, so the place was in full party swing. It was early in the evening so we were seated right away. A DJ, dim lighting, great margaritas, and fantastic homemade chips and salsa added to the atmosphere. Our entrees were delicious and very reasonably priced. Highly recommend!

Fantastic!!

By Freedom15821968580 |

Verry cool restaurant , with a good service and fantastic food!! It was really nice experience !!! We loved it!!!!!!!!!

One of the best

By 17karl |

Top class food and top class service from the guys there. The nicest Mexican food I have ever tasted and such nice staff. Dj playing great music and a fantastic atmosphere. Will be back next time in NYC.

Amazing

By jeanie w |

Went with a party of 3 and everyone was delighted with their meal. This is not your run of the mill Mexican food, I had a crepe stuffed with shrimp. Also enjoyed the margaritas. Waiter TJ took good care of us. Chips and salsa - great. We liked the casual atmosphere, however, where we were sitting it was too dark to read the menu, but had a flashlight with us, so no problem. If I lived in the area I would be a regular.

Delicious margarita and food

By Journey with Josh |

Great margaritas at great prices for NYC. Food is delicious and arrived quickly. Friendly staff. FAMILY environment.

Great meal, great service

By Lauren H |

We showed up at 8 on the dot with no reservation and managed to get in with no problem. I highly recommend the large margaritas (they are large) and the taco salad. The guac is the smallest portion I have ever seen so I wouldn't bother...

Best Mexican food East of California !

By BarbandEd1976 |

We dined for dinner without a reservation at about 5PM after a show. Our table was comfortable, the staff all friendly and helpful, the salsa that came with the tortilla chips automatically when we first sat down was amazingly flavorful. Our waiter, Chris, inquired if we wanted guacamole with the chips, too, (extra $9), which we got, and it was AMAZING!. Fresh, flavorful and a heaping helping. Our dinners were unique, flavorful, interesting, while still being much like the homemade Mexican food we had in CA. Highly recommended and we wll go back each time we visit NYC !

Great food, Loud and festive spot

By intinerant |

Enjoyed this jam packed Mexican place near Times Square...Different selections on the menu which was fun rather than the usual fare...Vegetarians with us found good stuff to eat, as well.

Below average

By danielt88 |

Average. We have such a great choice of Mexican restaurants here in nyc and this falls behind. Fine for a night out as it has a good atmosphere but a lot of the dishes lack flavour or authenticity. Much better options available in the city - for the price I would avoid

Hip Cozy Mexican

By Sophia B |

I visited Arriba one time prior to this visit and it was AWESOME. This visit did not disappoint. The complimentary chips and salsa is great. I find it to be authentic. The guacamole was fresh and vibrant. I ordered the Chicken Fajita it was balanced and tasty. They serve healthy portions so watch out. My BF ordered Steak with yellow rice and beans. It could have been an excellent dish but the salt was a tad bit heavy on the steak. The rice and other stuff was good. Overall we enjoyed ourselves. Our server was FUN, NICE and ATTENTIVE. He kept the margarita flowing for me. Keep up the good work

Lovely Restaurant But Too Dark Inside

By Zena36 |

The food, service and the frozen margaritas are great. The restaurant is very dark inside and I had to use the torch on my phone to read the menu. Definitely worth a visit but eat lots of carrots first, ha ha.

Amazing!

By ManxCatMeow |

Absolutely beautiful meal. Wish we found this place earlier on our visit! Great food and atmosphere! Highly recommend :-)

THE WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!!!’

By SR |

I am not an incredibly picky person but I ordered Don Julio margaritas and they charged me 38,50 per margarita for a cup full of ice and no tequila. Complained and they wouldn’t do a thing… Avoid this place like the plague!!!!

Excellent Taco’s and Margs

By handyspanner |

Had to move hotel to north of Times Square and found AA from TA reviews. What an excellent choice and we hit it when margaritas were on offer. The restaurant is a nice set up and we just walked in, looked like a regular haunt for many. It’s off the main TS drag in a great area. As well as the frozen margaritas we had the beef and shrimp tacos and the special quesadilla with the Bolitas DE Yuca Great service, food and value. If you like Mexican food try this.

Dark, noisy and wrong order

By Andy&Sal |

Had high hopes for this place when my Husband and I visited. It looks like a cool place with Pinatas hanging from the ceiling and themed mosaics on the walls. However the restaurant was so dark we couldn't see the menu properly and it was so loud that we couldn't hear each other speak. Anyway when our food was bought to our table it wasn't our order, we both ordered burritos but these certainly were not. I told the waiter that this wasn't what we ordered, he just shrugged and walked off. No idea what we were eating, the food was ok but it had little to no spice level and hardly any other flavours. One good thing at least is that we were charged for what we ordered, but no money off the bill or apology for the mistake. Needless to say they didn't get a tip!!

Great food

By Adelaida Diaz-Roa |

They have a weird $10 minimum per person. Ordered the soup, guac and nachos. Also had their chips and salsa while we waited. It was all really good.

Consistently good food, service can be off

By michaell1232014 |

I have always enjoyed Arriba Arriba so I was glad to have an opportunity to stop for lunch the other day. I enjoyed the food but service can be inconsistent and this was definitely an off day. To their defense, everyone seemed to be hustling but they appeared understaffed.

Excellent food. Good value.

By Valleyone |

Friendly staff and a cosy atmosphere. Extensive Mexican menu and good cocktail list. Food is really very good and very good value.

Great Mexican restaurant with great house margaritas

By Jack V |

Enjoyed this spot in Manhattan. The fresh chips and salsa are very tasty. The burritos are really good and come 2 to an order since they are much smaller than at most places. The margaritas come is 3 sizes with the largest being 24oz and many flavors. The service was really great too. The place was packed with a very friendly crowd. I will be back on my next trip to NY. This is a really festive place with great food great drinks and great music.

Don't waste your time or money here

By Rocco S |

I understand restaurants are desperate for $$, but REALLY terrible margaritas at almost $22 each, very mediocre food and a 20% tip automatically added = AVOID THIS PLACE. It was just two of us and the bill was almost $180 When I saw on the bill the price of the margaritas, I assumed that was why it was so ridiculously expensive. Later, at home, I realized they charged an automatic 20% gratuity. I didn't see that at the time and had still left a $50 bill, for which the waiter couldn't have cared less. What a ripoff! Hell's Kitchen is full of great restaurants at really affordable prices. This place will be out of business soon, and rightly so.

Good value Mexican food n a lively restaurant

By Chris J |

Great after Show restaurant. Good prices, good food, tight quarters, subdued lighting, lots of atmosphere. Shrimp kebab was a good choice as was the burrito. Good choice of Zmexican beers and margueritas! Good service, good value. No frills, but I would recommend.

STAY AWAY!!!!!!!!!!

By redison52 |

STAY AWAY! They do you a FAVOR by seating you. Their arrogance will DESTROY your appetite. The food is OK but the wait staff does NOT try to please and can be down right ABUSIVE! There are PLENTY of good Mexican restaurants in NYC so why go to one that abuses the customers and shows NO appreciation for your business? STAY AWAY!!

Great Mexican restaurant with fantastic atmosphere

By Pechster71 |

Having had a disastrous first night in New York we were really pleased to find Arriba Arriba on our second and to have a fantastic time here. We decided to wander Hells Kitchen and see what took our fancy and saw Arriba Arriba on our first pass down 9th street and decided to come back here for dinner. The place was buzzing with music and loads of people having a great time. We were seated at a table all be it cramped in amongst the press of others and started with a couple of excellent margaritas and some great guacamole. I went on to have the Mexican Alambre which was very tasty with perfectly cooked steak while my wife enjoyed the chicken enchiladas. The house wine was also very good and the total bill didn't quite reach $100 which for New York is an absolute steal. For anyone looking for an enjoyable night out with great food and atmosphere at a price that won't break the bank this is your spot.

Atmosphere!

By skycoyzmom |

Best advice we got from our hotel was to walk a block down, and eat in the Hell's Kitchen area! There was so much to choose from, and the atmosphere was so fun! Arriba Arriba was our first choice and did not disappoint! We loved the staff and the quaint little restaurant. The food was excellent and priced accordingly. Recommend!!!

The closest to good Mexican food as you'll find in NYC

By Terry D |

I'm from LA, but live in NYC now and I miss the great Mexican food of my former city. Arriba comes as close as possible. Plus, the margaritas are awesome! PLUS, the vibe is party time! It's a really fun place, the crowd is cool, and it's my favorite destination on a Friday night to meet friends and have a cheat meal. Ole!

Good Atmosphere but Less than average food

By Joann K |

Wait staff was good. Food was OK....But I would not go back..It was also very cramped in the seating area.

Oh mamma the Margaritas!

By Sarah L |

Good Mexican fare, not the best we had .... get out to Harlem in the Latin areas to really get the spice.... but the Margaritas were absolutely awesome.

The best Margarita

By archil a |

Arriba Arriba is a great Mexican restaurant. Despite the fact that it is located on the path of tourist routes, it is absolutely not spoiled. Excellent for both a romantic dinner and a New York pre-party. The menu delicious burrito and tacos, which are distributed by friendly waiters. The atmosphere is semi-club, which does not interfere with communication at all. On weekends, there are DJ sets, usually a mix of lounge and latin. Among other things, bartenders mix, in my opinion, the best Margarita in Manhattan. Nowhere else can you meet such a variety of her tastes as here. My favorite is Frozen Mango Mama-size. This restaurant, like the district as a whole, is very popular with sexual minorities. Therefore, being first for the first time inside Arriba Arriba, one can feel like an unexpected guest at a closed party, but a smiling hostess (by the way, also gay) will instantly dispel this feeling.

Fabulous Friday Night Welcome

By ethoscon |

It’s Friday night in NY and we’re a family of 8 with no reservation. Here at Arriba Arriba we got the warmest welcome on a busy night, and had some delicious salsa and frozen margaritas while we waited maybe only 15 minutes for a table. All of our food was hot and tasty, the resident DJ took requests and had us dancing at our table, and the service was friendly and attentive. I couldn’t fault it - a buzzy vibe, a noisy bustling atmosphere and fabulous food. What’s not to ❤️?

Queso Fundido and Carne Asada. Yum!

By psudino |

Went here before a show with my wife. The meal was spectacular especially the Queso Fundido and Carne Asada. They were among the best of those dishes I've had anywhere. The service was absolutely wonderful and attentive and the location is great for a pre-show meal.

Dishonest

By ljpalmer2 |

Another fabulous restaurant starts trying to rip off regular customers. Automatically adding gratuity to the bill and then suggesting additional tips so you end up tipping twice ($60 on a $130 bill) used to be a regular not any more. I understand because of the pandemic restaurants have been closed and suffered but ripping off customers who have tried to support you by dining outside multiple times in freezing conditions and snow to provide custom and support is not the way to go. Absolutely disgusted

Great food

By Dino Sipsas |

We came here for dinner and some drinks. We had the enchiladas with green sauce, chips and guacamole and taco appetizers. Mixed drinks are strong so if you don't like that stick to beer. Did took a bit long for our food to come out and another waiter took our order. So we had to wait almost 45 min for our food and we're very hungry. Overall good place to meet friends or a date. It's a bit loud inside so ktheo that in mind.. ..

Best Mexican NYC

By Karen T |

My favorite Mexican restaurant in NYC. Large portions, always fresh & tasty. It has become my go to lunch before a matinee. And the staff is always super friendly!!

Awesome

By Furball2005 |

Great food, fabulous margaritas!!!! Four of us had lunch, to top it off, a small margarita was complimentary!!!! We will definitely return!!!!

Fresh tasty food with fantastic service.

By Samantha W |

Beautiful food, attentive staff, lovely decor. This is a lovely place to eat. We enjoyed chips and dip to start followed by shrimp tacos and fiesta salad. Everything was so tasty and fresh. Service was impeccable. We’d love to visit again if we return to NYC.

DELICIOUS MEXICAN FOOD

By Tranquillo |

This was our first visit to Arriba Arriba located in the Hell's Kitchen on 9th Ave section of NYC. At first, I was very skeptical since it didn't look like much from the outside and not many people were there (but it was early). We decided to give it a try and it did not disappoint. We ordered the early bird that included a glass of delicious Sangria, an appetizer and dinner. The black bean soup, Quesedia, and the Fajaitas were all excellent. They start you off with complimentary chips and salsa. We ordered the fried iced cream for dessert that was big enough for two. The portions are all quite large. The athmosphere was pleasant, not too noisy, and the service was excellent. We would definitely recommend this great find and visit it next time in NYC.

Margaritas

By Flashbuddah |

We were taken here by a friend after having catch up drinks nearby. We managed to get a table without having to wait - it was around 8pm on a Thursday. The lighting in the restaurant was a little dim so you will need an extra light source for reading the menu. Mobile phones were like fire flies, illuminating sporadically, all over the restaurant, whenever people wanted to look at the menu. Our orders were taken after the complementary nachos and salsa were placed on their table, a great touch. The food arrived and was a hit, tasted amazing was just the right portion size. If you do go here you have to order one of the Margarita's - we had 3 Large Margaritas- I can tell you much the price you pay for them is worth it! They are huge and taste amazing - and having flown over from the UK that morning they sorted us out ... maybe a little too much lol So my one reservation is that the music was too loud, if you want to be able to talk you have to basically shout at one another but that's helped by drinking the fine margaritas on offer.

Great Mexican

By MrsShams |

We are a family of 4 and we had a lovely supper tonight (Sunday 16 October) at Arriba Arriba during our 3 night stay on NYC. We enjoyed the various fruit flavoured frozen margaritas (pomegranate, mango & watermelon) and the food was very tasty. We didn’t receive the food in the order we asked for it (quesadillas as an appetiser & salad) then we wanted the tacos and fajitas. However, it was all very nice and well seasoned and lots of chili… great atmosphere too. The total check for 3 small margaritas, 1 Coke, 1 appetiser, 1 salad, 3 taco dishes and 1 fajita came to $190 which also included 1 dessert (helado frito) which was enough for the 4 of us to share.

Great early dinner and margaritas

By transatlantictom |

We arrived at about 5pm for dinner. No reservation but we're seated immediately. The waitress managed the balance of attentiveness and leaving us in peace almost perfectly. We had nachos and chorizos tacos to start with (both fantastic), and enchiladas and fajitas to follow (both good but not as great as the starters). The margaritas were fantastic.

Friendly and lively atmosphere

By NatHeaney |

We visited in March 19 and hadnt booked. We only had a short wait until we were seated. The nacho chips were great and the salsa was lovely. We ordered 1 chicken and 1 bean enchilada with 2 raspberry margaritas. The food came very quick and was nice. The waiter then advised us to try churros and the fried ice cream which were to die for. The service and desert definitely made up for the average mains.

Mexican lunch

By Andy Loug |

Great progressive place with good lunch offers. For 40$ each of three of us had beef & chicken burritas and taco salad with a glasses of cold fruit sangria. The interior is atmospheric and nice people work here

Good food and atmosphere

By steveles07 |

We walked past and the restaurant was busy but it looked interesting. We had to wait for ten minutes for a table for two which was fine. once we sat down with the menu we realised everyone was drinking the house margaritas, so we ordered 2, and the were amazing. Great selection of food for all tastes and vegan, veg options. We had the Short Rib Tacos, Taco salad and Chimichanga - all were really good

Authentic Mexican — friendly staff!

By dragonflyskipper |

I'm a fan of Arriba Arriba ... dining there more than twice weekly. Though usually busy, the staff are friendly and drinks are available in the bar. The service is excellent and wait-staff attentive. Food is authentic and fresh!

Favourite Restaurant in NYC

By Marie L. |

I absolutely love this restaurant, went 9 years ago for the first time and fell in love with it. I make it a point of going each time I’m in NYC. Their salsa is AMAZING. I wish I could get it shipped to me, it is that good. Love their fajitas. Great atmosphere and great service. If you’re going to NYC and like Tex-Mex / Mexican this restaurant is a must. I have recommended it to many friends over the years and they have never been disappointed.

Mexican after rain

By Mike M |

One day of heavy rain in NYC and we were both on the other side of the city. Still we had mexican food on our mind and we knew exactly where we had to go... A 40 minute walking under heavy rain. Was it worth it? Yes! Arriba arriba has very nice and affordable menus with 3 mexican dishes at choice. The food was very well prepared but get ready to not see it. Restaurant is very dark. gives it a romantic and kind of naughty atmosphere, but nothing we haven't seen in Sex and the City before. We loved it and we recommend it

Drinks, entrees and dessert are all good!

By alyxzandreaphoenix |

Delicious food and strong drinks are the stars of this restaurant. They offer a small brunch menu with about 6 options. We ordered 3 of the options and they were so good, the yucatan eggs Benedict, breakfast burrito and the steak and eggs. I also ordered the Tia Margarita and it was very strong. For dessert we ordered the churros and tres leche and they were both delicious as well.

Awesome margaritas and food

By Sharon S |

The margaritas here are awesome. And the food and service was just as good. Just had a taco, rice and black beans and was full. While it may be dark atmosphere and cramped quarters service is excellent!

Great Food

By Furball2005 |

This place is always happening!!! Food is great~specialty margaritas are a bit pricey, but good!!!! It is worth a small wait!!!

Great food

By Athletic_artist |

I love Mexican food so I has to check it out! The food was awesome. My boyfriend and I really enjoyed the food. The restaurant itself had a friendly atmosphere and great service. My only complaint would be that it was loud, there was a DJ and the music was a bit too loud to have a conversation. But I guess that is the atmosphere - it has more of a fun vibe. Overall great restaurant if you enjoy a vibrant atmosphere and of course amazing food.

Adios Amigos

By ContingencyPlan |

Used to to go to Ariba Ariba every time I hit NYC, which is about twice a year. This last time something changed... There is a new menu, the free nachos starter is gone and so am I. Adios Amigos

Party atmosphere and great food!

By Maggssatch |

Went here early evening with my family and it was going off!! DJ in full effect, party atmosphere and great, Mexican food. Amazing margaritas! The food came quickly and the staff were friendly and really welcomed my children. We all danced in our seats as we ate!! Would totally recommend this place. 👍😩

Salsa a real winner here!

By BostonSEFoodie |

Enjoyed another great meal here during a recent visit to NYC. The chips and salsa (best I've every had) are worth the trip to this restaurant. Great atmosphere and vibe. The fajitas entree is enough for two. Awesome tacos too. This is my go-to Mexican restaurant in NYC.

One of the best places for Mexican food in Manhattan.

By Justin W |

I've visited this restaurant for years. For me it's one of the best places to get Mexican food in Manhattan, if not all of NYC. Prices are reasonable, the margaritas are great and they have a excellent weekend brunch.

Always on point

By Jillian |

Love everything about this place, from the delicious food to the fun and friendly waiters. The shrimp fajitas are my favorite. I've been eating here for years and it never disappoints.

Loved it!

By Gemma B |

Was craving Mexican and this restaurant did not disappoint, as mentioned by others it was a little dark but that didn't bother us. The host was fantastic, lovely and friendly. They give complimentary salsa and chips, we ordered guacamole, taco sale and a burrito - all delicious! Happily recommend

Amazing Mexican

By davenmaz |

Dined here 5 years ago was amazed then and we can confirm that since our last visit things have got better this truly is a fabulous Mexican restaurant with a great vibe nice food, staff, and drinks well done staff and owner

Good

By KeyF31 |

Nice restaurant in Hell's Kitchen. Huge helpings, very good guacamole and amazing margaritas. Overall worth a visit, we went twice!

Cramped but decent Mexican food and a decent price

By Peter R |

Wife and son split a chicken fajita dinner ($18) and I had the yucca crusted salmon which was quite good ($20) with a side of rice ($3.95). Two baby Margueritas (4oz) at $4 and a water brought the meal to $54.82 plus tip. The salmon dinner was very good and cooked perfectly. The fajita was just a fajita. Atmosphere was a bit too dark and loud and a bit crowded for my liking. Would be willing to give them another try.

Great place

By jon_ryan024 |

Me and my buddy decided to get a bite to eat after work and grabbed a couple of steak burritos & they were slammin'. Filling. Staff was great, vibe was good and we left full. Ill def be coming back for some more of those burritos lol

Great Mexican Food

By Ron K |

They have an early bird special that cannot be beat. An appertizer, drink and main meal. For $15.99. Food and service were both excellent.

The margaritas!

By penngirls |

I'm just seeing other reviews that people didn't like Arriba, Arriba. Well I'm here to tell you we LOVED it! Let's start with the margaritas. Wow! Delicious and you can choose your size. We picked La Mama which is 24 ounces of amazing. The biggest is La Abuela at 32 ounces. We chickened out of that one, but next time for sure! My wife and I agreed these were some of the best margaritas we had in a long time. Now to the food. My wife wasn't very hungry when we went so she got the Tempura Shrimp Tacos. They were the perfect size. More on the appetizer size and might be on the appetizer menu (I just don't remember) but delicious. She did say they were a bit spicy and would have them skip the jalapenos next time. I had the Enchiladas Suiza with chicken. Fantastic. They were hot, full of chicken and creamy. Both plates came out of the kitchen steaming hot, they definitely weren't sitting around waiting to be served It is a small place, very neighborhood based from what we could tell. It is not a tourist location. Most if not all of the tables around us were obviously locals. They don't take reservations so I would suggest showing up on the earlier side so you don't have to wait. They also have outside seating. We choose to sit inside as it was a steamy evening. The drinks are expensive but they are also big. The food is comparable to other meals you would have in NYC. Like I said in the beginning they do add the tip in for you, I would suspect as a result of too many out of towners stiffing them and/or locals imbibing too much and forgetting to tip. Not my favorite way of doing business but also not a deal breaker for me. Overall we loved the entire experience and will definitely return sooner rather than later.

Good place

The food was verry good. the service was overwelmed I requested to finish my apetizer before they bring my main course but it come out when i was half way true it. The restaurant is verry noisy witch I don t mind it I will defnitly come back for the food.

Good food

By profmom1 |

We got here at 5 on a Thursday. We were seated immediately. We filled up on appetizers. The service was a bit slow, and it's somewhat cramped, but the nachos and Mexican chicken soup were incredible.

Love the Music and Vibe Here! Margaritas are A+!

By Cat S |

I just came for drinks on a Thursday night while a friend had a meal, but I totally love the music and vibe of this place. Mexican decor with multiple disco balls hanging from the ceiling. Loved the disco/early 80s music music. Service was pretty good too. I enjoyed my margaritas. I would like to come back soon try the food.

Not consistently delicious

By Paul T |

We went here twice during our stay, the first being "oh my god, this is the best Mexican food ever" and the second ... "What were we thinking?" The food is good, the service excellent and if our first visit is an example, really good value, the second... not so much.

Went here twice during our

By David |

Went here twice during our stay. Food was excellent! Service was excellent! Atmosphere was excellent!

Excellent food, but too dark and loud!

By lala155021 |

The food here was excellent, margaritas were great. A bit pricey but everything was excellent. We had a party of 6 which they were able to accommodate fairly quickly for a busy night. My only complaint was the lighting was so dim it was difficult to read the menu, and they DJ could have been a bit quieter so we could have an easier time having a conversation. But as far as the food goes, I would definitely return on my next trip to NYC.

Tasty food

By Haylee H |

Food was good, my sister & I split an order of tacos. She asked for no cheese, I said just put the cheese on the side. They then charged us $4 for the side of cheese when they were suppose to come on the taco. We didn’t say anything because we’re not like that. But the tacos were delicious & so was the homemade salsa!

Food and margaritas were delicious!

By Maura Curtis |

We were in the city to see the tree at Rockefeller Center and shopping. Arriba Arriba was close and perfect to start our day. Highly recommend this and glad we got reservations because the place filled up quickly. Only recommendation is that they start serving coffee!

8 Years Later = Still Awesome

By Alexander R |

First came here on holidays over 8 years ago. Food was great then, drinks were incredible then. Came back this year, food was still great. Drinks were still incredible. Everything is really tasty. The food servings generous and delicious. But the winner for sure are the frozen cocktails. So damn good!

Authentic and local

By Rob W |

We didn’t book, but a short wait was made easier with the frozen margaritas! The food was excellent and the place was busy and (good) noisy. People were singing to the music which gave it a really nice atmosphere.

Terrible mole poblano!

By keithinbrazil |

¡Dios Mio! Probably the worst mole poblano I have ever had... The folks here who said nice things have never had a good version of it... Watery, no spice, no chocolate, just a mess.... 😪😪😪 And the hot sauce was like vinegar - probably (industrialized) Tabasco. No green hot sauce available, no complimentary chips, and asked if I wanted jalapeño to spice it up - for $2.50 extra. Never again...

Good Food and Service

By ejplum |

Ariba Ariba was a good choice for a busy Saturday evening. The hostess seated us within minutes of our arrival. Our waiter came over with menus and got our drink orders. It wasn't long before he returned to take our dinner orders. There were a lot of the traditional Mexican favorites, but some items had original twists. There were 5 of us. A couple of the items we ordered were classic pork quesadillas and Chile Poblano Enogada. We also ordered flan and churros. The meal was good, the atmosphere was party-like with various lighting effects, and the music wasn't too loud. Prices were in line with other restaurants serving the same type of food.

Every bite was well-flavored and tasty

By Heather H |

From the complimentary first basket of chips to the final bite of our entrees, we enjoyed our dinner at the far corner table. The tables are packed close together as typical for the city. The large margaritas were fantastic and a perfect complement to our appetizer guacamole and entrees. We would absolutely return and recommend this place to anyone in the city.

Excellent Margarita

By Noga A |

Warm Doritos directly from the oven, crispy and so tasty, you just can't stop eating them with the spicy sauce . Excellent Margarita, the frozen and the regular. I ate there a vegetarian burrito, which was stuffed with rice and vegetables and it was good . We really enjoyed there. Good service.

Not as good as before

By Scott J |

Been coming to this restaurant since the early 1980s and have to agree with other reviewers that it's definitely not what it was. The drinks have always been expensive, but are now outrageous ... especially since I honestly don't think the formerly fab margaritas have even a drop of tequila. The food is still fine and the place has a nice vibe (depending on when you go it can be dark and very loud or brighter and more quiet on a Sunday or Monday night, for example) but with so much Mexican food on offer in NYC, including in this area, I think I'll try my luck elsewhere from now on.

Not a fan

By abw0117 |

After reading through numerous reviews of 3 different Mexican restaurants, we decided to try Arriba Arriba. The pros are that It does have a fun atmosphere (music, dim lighting) and quick delivery of food. My cons: waiter never stated his name and didn't seem to eager to help us. Maybe I am just use to bubbly, outgoing servers, but it was ok. A helper brought out chips/salsa and filled our water glasses. Salsa was a little spicy and chunky for my liking and didn't taste homemade (not even sure if it was suppose to be or not). We devoured the chips in like less than 5 minutes in which no one ever asked if we would like more. I ordered a lemon with my water, which I never got. We ordered off the combination menu. Tamale was great, bean/cheese burrito was average and the enchilada sauce tasted like it was straight from a can. Maybe the drinks are what wins people over but I didn't have any of those. I knew I should't have had high expectations from a Mexican establishment in NY mainly cause I am traveling from Arizona where we have true authentic Mexican food. So all in all it was ok, definitely would not return though, sorry :(

Disappointing brunch..

By skitolive13 |

Stopped here for brunch in a Sunday as t was busy on the patio. Menu looked interesting and like it had potential. As it turns out this place is a bust. The service was extremely slow, 15 min to eat, 50 min to get food, and mind you the restaurant was not busy. Once the food came, chilaquiles and a chili renello it was Luke warm and very average. No exciting elements and just very basic. Not good Mexican food and I don't recommend it to anyone.

Awesome place!! Food was great and atmosphere was electric. The music had us dancing in our seats and singing all night. Sangria is a must!

BEST MARGARITAS IN MANHATTAN

By Mark G |

I have not eaten at Arriba Arriba but have been here many times to enjoy the margaritas. I am a massive fan of the frozen margaritas and stand by my claim that they are the best in Manhattan. I also need to give a shout out to mama on the rocks which are excellent. I have taken many people to enjoy the margaritas and no one has ever been disappointed. One word of warning despite not tasting it the margaritas are very strong and so take it easy if you have work the next day 🤯

Nice mexican option

By surf_golf |

We enjoyed our dinner at Arriba Arriba. The place had a great atmosphere and the food was very good. The staff was very friendly too.

Truly a must-visit if in town!

By kmktravelsx |

We were in NYC for only 3 days came here twice because we loved it so much. The starter chips and salsa are some of the best I’ve ever had. I’m going to be dreaming of the Enchiladas Suizas until I’m able to return. The staff was also very friendly.

Food was superb and service was good during a very busy time. Portions are large so be ready to share. Menu was versatile

Excellent

By Macca6178 |

Great tasting Mexican food. Fantastic attentive service. Extensive cocktail menu and moderately priced. A really good option if you’re in the Mexican mood.

Fabulous Mexican Food with Neighborhood Flavor

By Ted-620 |

Long standing Mexican restaurant with excellent food and great frozen margaritas. The service is friendly and low-key. The inside area can get very loud, depending on the day and time. Captures a lot of the neighborhood “flavor.”

excellent mexican food with a lively atmosphere!

By ianshamshey |

I was in the mood for an early dinner since I had a deadline to meet. I wanted Mexican food and I had not been to Arriba Arriba in some time. It was late Sunday afternoon and I thought it would not be crowded since I thought the theater crowds would be on their way home. Needless to say, the place was packed. Many people were doing more drinking than eating. Chips and salsa arrived. I looked at the menu and decided on the chicken fajitas. They arrived at my table shortly after, sizzling hot, strips of chicken with onions and green peppers. On a side dish, in addition to the small tortillas, were shredded cheese, lettuce, salsa, guacamole and sour cream. The food was delicious. The only thing I can say may be a problem is if you go with a friend or a group-it is really noisy but it seemed that everyone was having a good time. The restroom was clean and well maintained. I would recommend-if you want to talk-go when it doesn't appear so busy.

A Fun Night In Hells Kitchen

By Tom L |

This is a fun place to spend a couple hours in Hells Kitchen. The music is upbeat, the lighting is fairly low, the customers are animated & the vibe is chill. We ordered chips & salsa, a couple beers, followed by salad with shrimp and chicken mole enchiladas. All were delicious. A special shout out to Tony behind the bar who whipped up some delicious margaritas. He is charming and treats all his customers well.

Dinner between shows

By Richard Thomas G |

I have eaten here on many occasions, the most recent of which was Saturday 07.08.23. I found everyone friendly and helpful. The food is good and the margaritas were very tasty (and strong). I have only had one bad experience here and it was one of the bartenders who never acknowledged my presence. I'll be back to eat later in the month. Can't wait.

Spend your money on the quality dining

By YassanThe1 |

Very mediocre quality food, service with an attitude and margaritas, highly recommended by the server, with artificial flavorings and steep prices.” Arriba Arriba is suggested by a friend as a "Great Mexican restaurant" so I came all the way from Harlem with a friend visiting from ATL to try and definitely not coming back, just not worth the trip and the money. Dinner for two with two "mango shmango margaritas" $161 Wasn't able to impress a friend either😉

Wish it lived up to the hype.

By Renee H |

I have friends that rave about this restaurant. Drinks were good, staff was great but found the food to be mediocre. I would come back for cocktails, but with the number of Mexican restaurants around here would probably try someplace else.

Great place

By Jess |

I visited here with three friends for Cinco de Mayo and it was fabulous! The staff were great, the food delicious and the atmosphere brilliant. We had a few shots of tequila and it was such a fun day. A must visit!!

Buenísimo!!

By Mark F |

I can't say enough about the the chicken soup, the beef tacos, the chicken pinchos, the hibiscus frozen margaritas, the tres leches cake the carne asada and the excellent service from the management and staff! Aruba arriba!!!

Arriba!!! Arriba !!!

By alowe1078 |

This restaurant was recommended by a tour guide from Radio City Musical Hall for its real authentic salsa. Well it did not disappoint. All of food was great, hot fresh, the salsa was amazing and the drinks were good, the margaritas are a little pricey in my opinion. The one thing we could have done with out was the PDA from some of the other dinners but that's not the restaurants fault. Lastly, this place is very tiny and table sit on top of each other.

Great ambience and food

By amitgc |

We went on a Wednesday evening, live DJ playing some old pop songs that created a fabulous atmosphere. Combined with great service and a ever so tasty fajita, this is definitely a place to come back to

Good food, well-priced special, but very small

By Gregsky |

My wife and I stumbled across this place after we tried (unsuccessfully) to get into a taping of the Daily Show. Menus posted outside advertized a three-course special for $15.95 between 4-6pm. We sat down at 5:45 and got a bit of push-back when we asked for the special menu. After that, things went well. We both got the small free drink and soup (which was excellent). I had enchilada suiza and my wife had fajitas, which cost an extra $3. We then had a few extra drinks (a beer for me and a margarita for her) and our total was $50 after tax (before tip)?!? I think that's great value. My only complaint is that the place is very small. At one point the busboy bumped into me and I almost knocked out a tooth with my spoon. He mumbled "I'm sorry", but I let it go. The place has a fun ambiance, with loud music, so not sure if it would appeal to people with kids or older couples.

Fun place to dine on delicious Mexican food!

By sloppyjo76 |

Went here with girlfriends for dinner, and had a great time! We each got a different flavor margarita- pomegranate, blood orange, raspberry. All were delicious! We all had different things for dinner- tostados, enchiladas, beef and chicken. The atmosphere is very fun! The tables are pretty close together, and it can get crowded. But it is definitely worth it! I would eat here again,if I stayed in the Hell's Kitchen area again!

A real Taste of Mexico

By MirfieldOllie |

Excellent food served in very good surroundings by attentive and friendly staff. There was a wide variety of traditional Mexican dishes plus some that I have not tried before and which were wonderful. If you are in New York and fancy a Mexican meal then this is the place to head for.

Delicious Mexican food and margaritas!

By SaveNLivess |

We went on a Sunday afternoon after our visit for Fleet Week. As other reviewers mentioned it is kind of small inside and a bit dark but it didn't bother us at all. The tables are close together and we were lucky it wasn't very busy so we didn't feel squished. We were seated right away and didn't have to wait. The complimentary salsa and chips were delicious. The salsa was fresh and chips served warm. We both ordered papa margaritas (that is the medium sized ones, I believe 12 ounces if I remember correctly). I ordered a strawberry frozen and my husband ordered a raspberry frozen. They were delicious, but watch out because they are strong! I rarely drink and a couple of sips had me feeling it!! My husband and I both ordered for lunch combination meals. You can pick from a choice of several different options including tacos, enchiladas, burritos and others. I ordered a beef taco and beef enchilada. My husband ordered beef tacos and a beef burrito. All the combination platters are served with refried beans and rice. The food was delicious and flavorful. Our total bill was about $50 which was excellent considering how much food we got plus two drinks and a soda. We spend almost as much at Moe's!! Staff was very friendly. If you are looking for good Mexican cuisine in Hell's Kitchen try this place. Great prices, excellent margaritas and just overall great food!

Best Quesadilla's !!

By braziliangem |

This is my 2nd review on Arriba-Arriba! Got to work as we always do, our chatter was about our weekend. I had to share with my co-worker about the best quesadillas I've had! The quesadillas here are absolutely delish!! Chicken has a flavorful taste. I ordered a side of rice/beans to go along with it, well made rice/black beans. I will have to dine in to experience their drinks, which I know will be a hit! If you are in the Sunnyside, Queens area, this is a must! Arriba!

Solid food!

By amrisab |

I usually go to Patron for good Mexican in Hell's Kitchen but it was raining and we were starving right outside this place. Food was BETTER than average and actually pretty darn good. We got a pitcher of sangria that was just okay. Service is really friendly and they're good at taking care of you.

Good Food...Excellent Margaritas

By quiquesan |

Just a few blocks off Times Square this small place doesn't look like much from the outside the food was good, the service was excellent and margaritas were great. If you want to try some Mexican food while in NY, definitely check this place out.

Frozen Margaritas!

By 108Lex |

Trendy little restaurant serving mexican based menu. Food is great very tasty and the standards have been high for a very long time according to my New York based friend who has eaten there over many years. The Frozen Margaritas are amazing and made me return for another try :) music inside can be quite loud and lighting is on the dim side but it all adds to the atmosphere of the place. definitely recommend for those that like Mexican food or Frozen Margaritas or both!

Quick stop for modest hunger

By Giada M |

I thoroughly enjoyed the burrito with grilled chicken and a plate of salmon and quinoa served on a bed of gaucamole (along with a semi-sweet sauce that I honestly can't remember the name of). Prices slightly above average but quality food, worth a try.

We loved Arriba Arriba

By alabamams |

We tried to go to another Mexican place and they said they couldn’t seat us all night and it was 6:30 😂. So we found Arriba Arriba. We loved everything about it. The food was delicious. The entire staff was friendly and welcoming. They have a fun enviroment with an awesome DJ. We had a family of five but everyone loved was happy here. Thank you for you hospitality and delicious food. Honestly this was my favorite restaurant in NYC because of the way we were treated and the quality of all the food.

Fantastic chicken soup

By Greg F |

I am a lover of good Mexican chicken soup and this was outstanding. I didn’t have anything else on the menu but the soup, but I will come back again for it.

Best Salsa Ever

By TrvlnEagle |

This is my favorite Mexican spot in NYC. GREAT enchiladas and the best chips and salsa EVER. It gets quite loud but the food and margaritas are so good, it’s just part of the fun. Don’t miss this one!

Girls Night

By Peekaboo912 |

Visited on a Friday night .. It was packed, but we only waited about 20 minutes for a table. There was a DJ, the restaurant is small, dark and tables are tight. With all that being said its a cool vibe inside, everyone is friendly the service was prompt. We ordered the 27oz Rita's $17, So strong and delish.. Chips and Salsa were complimentary for the table, we ordered nachos, quesadillas and Baja tacos, the food was really good . All in all I will def be back.

Great restaurant in heart of Hell's Kitchen, always hopping

By kturner002 |

One of my favorite stand-bys for dinner with friends. This place is always crowded and lively, but somehow you never have to wait too long. Go for the Mama margarita, because you're definitely going to have a few small ones anyway!

LANDMARK

By samuel j |

Lived in New York for 20 years. This restaurant was full of warmth, energy and great food. Returned to visit after three years and all is still the same-GREAT. Fun before or after theater or anytime. Local landmark. You will love the fresh food and zesty drinks. How nice to return to 9th Avenue and see some things have not changed.

Good but expensive Margareta

By John P |

The food was good. Had a combo plater with burrito, enchiladas and tamales. The tamales were not as good as the others two item. Had beef in all three of my items. Tried the pork of a friend of mine and it was exceptional. Would recommend trying the pork if you visit. The Margareta's were over $20 each. Total bill for a party of 8 was over $650. They had a jalapeno flavored Margareta that was very good. Defiantly worth a stop.

Fresh food/great drinks!

By Gaddi1986 |

This is always my go to spot when I'm in the mood for Mexican. The staff is very nice, the food always tastes fresh and the margaritas are always delightful.

Great tasting Mexican food

By darrenzo |

We ate here several times during our 4 nights in New York due to the tasty food. It's a basic restaurant but the food is delicious, we particularly enjoyed the california burrito and taco salad and a bonus as the refried beans are vegetarian. The lunchtime offer is great value with a choice of sangria or magherita included, also complimentary chips and salsa were really good as was the service, it's popular with locals.

Good meal and experience

By Christophe V |

You want to eat Mexican food in closely space with great experience, ambiance, cocktail and great food, it’s the place to be. Only you must accept to wait because the room is small and the address is well known.

Hopping, but ordinary

By AUROBINDO S |

This is New York. A couple of blocks from Times Square. Enough said - there are tons of people here and the atmosphere is buzzing with energy. The service is pleasant enough. The chairs and tables are laid out London style, so you’re very close to your fellow guests. It’s loud but not horribly so. But at the end of the day, the food is just so so. We had the fajitas (and chips and salsa) but they were what you’d get at any decent Mexican restaurant for less money. So - eh, wouldn’t go back here. It’s NEW YORK - surely you can find better places!

Such fun, great food and amazing service!

By Jenna C |

We had such a fun time here! Came here to catch up with two friends on the recommendation of a family friend. And it certainly delivered! The food was delicious, all of the servers were very attentive, and the margaritas were amazing. The atmosphere was electric and everyone seemed to be having a fun time. Next time I'm in New York I'll definitely be back!

Crazy, busy, fun and incredible food and drinks.

By Eric C |

We've been coming here for 10 years. It's always busy, they don't take reservations, but you can usually get a table pretty quick. The margaritas (20+ flavor combos) are potent and flavorful. The Mexican is best in town. The taco shells are homemade, the meats are flavorful, even the beans are good!! It's definitely our go to Mexican joint in NYC, and that's saying something!

Good Mexican food

By paulday4482016 |

Visited twice, given Tortillas and salsa once seated, we had the steak chilli rice dish which was very tasty and a steak burrito also tasty. Beers were Modelo and overall a lively bust place to eat. Not many kids, if any were in there, or women either.

Great atmosphere

By susiemwj |

We had a great dinner after the theater. The food was nice, the frozen margarita was delicious and really hit the spot and the service was very good. Definitely would come back to this one.

Good attention mmm food

By Ramses C |

We went to visit this place with a couple of friends. Attention was good but food was low in quality. As a family we love mexican food but the three of us agreed that it was far from what we expected.

Great Mexican food

By Sarah C |

Came here for a pre-theatre dinner, they could fit us in without reservation (nearby places could not) and we are so happy we came here. The food was some of the best Mexican food I’ve had, I had the burrito which was amazing and really tasty. My husband the steak fajitas which were also really good. The waiting staff were very friendly and helpful, great atmosphere, and not too expensive either. I look forward to returning!

Fair Tex mex restaurant

By Allan S |

Went here with friends and was not. Awed by the food. Fajitas were okay but most of the dishes were buried under lovely ads if cheese and rice and lettuce. Very little was authentic Mexican . Drinks were big and. Just did not care for the place. Very loud volumes and drunk people.

Delicious food and good service

By Sam N |

This was our first visit to this restaurant and I must say we were very pleased with our selections. I had the port burrito and it was the most delicious port I ever had at a Mexican restaurant. The rice and beans were cooked to perfection. Others in our party also enjoyed their selections and there was very little left on their plates. The drinks are a little expensive but it's New York City. Only drawback, the venue is dark and the music is way too loud. Cannot have a normal conversation.

Don’t miss it

By belleville31 |

Oh yes ! Great food, great drinks, fantastic friendly professional service. The atmosphere is buzzing, fun and happy !

good food, great staff, busy restaurant

By Rula L |

Very vibrant restaurant. The wait staff is fun and friendly. It's pretty much run of the mill Mexican fare, nothing special but not bad. lots of Margaritas to choose from. dark, loud and fun.

Very Casual - But Really Good Food

By Brian S |

Had a lovely lunch at Arriba Arriba - didn't need a reservation on a Saturday midday and had a great outdoor dining table. Staff are very friendly and attentive. Menu is great and love all the Margarita choices. But no stuffed poblanos - sad. Great tacos - especially the Pulpo. Great Margaritas too.

Best Mexican food ever

By Raymond M |

The negatives were the background noise and the dim lighting which made it very difficult to read the menu. However the service was great and the food was absolutely outstanding. The best mexican food I have ever had.

Great Mexican Restaurant

By Robert T |

Excellent Mexican food and reasonably priced. Service was outstanding. Love their chips and salsa. Very close to the theater district.

Awful experience and not really Mexican

By pkgreen2018 |

Expensive and bad food/service. My friend and I stopped in this Tex-Mex pit for a quick margarita and appetizers. We will not return. It wasn't very busy (no line out the door) and the host gave us the check before we even finished our drinks. The bartender who is a cute young girl, asked me for the pen because it was the ONLY pen she had. The drinks were decent but the food was awful. What really upset me was the fact that we were rushed and the place wasn't busy! This used to be a neighborhood staple, now it's turned into a trashy restaurant. The manager, servers and bartenders in the past were awesome! I recommend that you go elsewhere.

Skip this option

By x J |

The restaurant is overrated. The atmosphere is very loud and the wait staff is rude and don't check back once the food is served. There are many other Mexican restaurants in the area! Plus, prices don't match the quality, overpriced!

We went to NYC and stopped here because my brother's coworker works nearby and said this place was good. He was right. I had the chicken Chimichanga, which was one of the better Chimichangas I can recall eating. Good seating, I did not feel cramped, a happy hour and lunch special was going on at the same time. Service was prompt and helpful. Various size margaritas, from 4oz Bebe to the

Delicious!

By Erica H |

Delicious food! The enchiladas were amazing, and the margaritas were also very delicious! Staff was very friendly, seating is close together, but that seems to be a trend in most Mexican restaurants I've been to!

Fantastic Food + Awesome Service!

By scorpianeem |

This is one of the best Mexican restaurants in the area and they have great margaritas! The grill chicken quesadillar are delicious and the chips and salsa are good! Staff was very friendly and always asking if we needed anything. Chris took care of us and many others as well as the gentleman who made sure we had water, chips and salsa. If you're visiting New York, you should check it out!

Excellent

By Cassandra S |

The food here is some of the best in the area around the shows. The margaritas are strong and the atmospherics is friendly. Highly recommend.

Big Gay Mexican

By Stuart V |

It's loud, it's dark & it's gay. It's also really good. Food was tasty (if not spicy enough for me), service was entertaining & friendly. It does get very busy, so either reserve a table or go early! The banana-colada was interesting...

For a relaxed evening

By Patrick8324 |

Typical dishes, hearty well prepared. Good value for money. Smiling service, fast. Perfect for a relaxed evening. Reservation desirable.

Tiny portions, expensive for what you get

By flosue |

Not my favorite place. Food was good but tiny amounts. Not attentive waitstaff. Great salsa . I guess I could say it was ok

Crowded and dark- not in a good way

By nycpapito |

This place is cramped and dark- you can barely enjoy your food. Add to that the attitude of the wait staff and this place is a must to avoid.

Consistently Delicious...I Go At Least Weekly!

By Stephanie W |

I love this place. It's usually loud with disco music blasting, but it's sooooo good! Service is usually excellent, though they do have their off nights. I generally don't wait more than 15 minutes for a table - they stay on top of service. I love their chips and salsa; and if you finish your bowl, sometimes they'll refill it for free (usually Sunday - Thursday) but not always so don't be surprised if you're charged for it. Nine times out of 10, I order the shredded beef enchiladas...they are just excellent, and will leave you stuffed! It is a bit cramped; they just maximize the NYC space. It works though. Like the title says, I'm here at least once a week...sometimes twice a week. It's addictive! Fresh, quality ingredients and served piping hot. What's not to love?

Nice. Tasty. Good price

By Dor T |

The restaurant is great although it's a little bit small and dark. The cocktails are great and food is very tasty - but not warm as it should be. The stuff are nice and there is a very good atmosphere there. Prices are very good.

Not worth the price

By x J |

There are so many options in the HK area to eat, however, I thought I'd go to A.A., as I haven't been in a long time. I quickly remember how loud the restaurant is, even at 4:30pm on a Sunday. The staff was slow, food was good, drinks way overpriced (about $25 for a large margarita). With all the other options it will be a very long time before I'd ever consider going back!

Loved it!

By Ryan H |

This restaurant is great and so is the food. It offers authentic Mexican cuisine and great drinks. The feel is hip. We had to wait a few minutes to get seated as it was packed and bustling on a Thursday evening. The Chicken Mole dish was terrific. I recommend it.

Stopped in after a friend recommended this restaurant - bush location but great freindly fast service. Food was great and plentiful. Margaritas just perfect!

Favorite Mexican Spot

By TrvlnEagle |

Friendly service. Always lively energy. Great margaritas. Wonderfully seasoned food and the best chips and salsa in the city! Their enchiladas are my favorite dish and I get that every time. It gets very crowded and loud on weekends and you can't sit unless your whole party is there. If you like Mexican food you must try this spot.
