Excellent place: great food!

By mkd_travelmania |

Fantastic food! Really tasty, refined, elegantly presented. Pisco sour a must. The ají de gallina was the best I’ve ever had (and I’ve traveled to Peru) the salmon tiradito, and the artesano ceviche (atomic!) are wonderful. The mushroom cau-cau was good, and the beef anticucho tasty, full of flavor, full of textures and different touches (little sauces, small crispy potatoes on the sides, superb). Again the ají the gallina steals the show: chunky and full of flavor yet elegantly put together. Exquisite. The decor is a bit of a let down compared to how exquisite and elevated the food is, a bit too casual. I’d go back! Loved it. The staff was attentive and lovely. Well done. ❤️👍🏻

Joyful, Very Joyful, and Take the French Toast as Dessert

By HenryNYC |

Joyful experience from both the appearance and taste of the dishes, fabulous cocktails, and wonderful wait staff who has given us amazing services. The portion of each dish is on the small side. It would be very useful to get the advice from the staff on the amount of food you should order. The ambiance is quite nice, elegantly put together. The cocktail is wonderful. Our first time experience having cocktail via a teapot. If possible, find a table next to the kitchen as you can also see how each dish was assembled right in front of you. It is a real treat!

Peruvian in NY? THE ADDRESS

By Michael K |

Excellent food in a beautiful restaurant. Latin American music in the background and very friendly staff.

Most amazing !

By SIRY SILVER |

Amazing menu and venue and I’ve been to most, if not all, chic peruvian restaurants in NYC. Chef Rodrigo really did it right. The staff is just as amazing to get the best experience . Bartender Carlos and host Romon are top notch ! Will’s definitely be coming back with friends and clients !

Michelin Quality

By Antionio10 |

The food here is excellent. Michelin quality. With four people, we had a good selection of the menu. The cerviches, mushroom starter. beef anticucho, branzino, pisco tres leches, he wonderful lucuma cheesecake, and hucatay & chocolate were all hits. Service was good. This was our second trip here since their opening.

Not Authentic or Tasty Peruvian Food

By Maria B |

Unfortunately, the food tasted like imitation Peruvian cuisine. Maybe they should describe it as influenced by Peruvian food. The pisco sour had very little liquor and instead was full of sugar, it was undrinkable and we left them intact on the table, but we did pay for them. It was a total disappointment as we expected very tasty meals. Two weeks ago, we had dinner in Coral Gables, FL at a Peruvian restaurant and the food was incredible. I really thought it was going to be the same, or better; but it was not at all, sadly.

Xmas brunch

Service: excelent. Attentive. Was surprised to be offered to take our bags and coats. Great envoronment, tasteful decoration, elegant, clean. You can view the kitchen from your table. Ordered the rice w seafood and the lomo saltado, amd fried yuca. All dishes awesome. Tasteful, beautiful to look at. Drinks: classic Pisco Sour and cocktail de Algarrobina. They have a special of $40 unlimited drinks for, I believe, 90 mins (choose one from choice of 3 drinks). The dessert was only item that could be improved. I could not taste the lúcuma on the lúcuma dessert. Delicious, would definitely go back. Even for drinks only.

Best Peruvian cuisine in New York City

By donidigiovanni |

Let me just start by saying what a pleasant surprise ARTESANO was! I am not sure how this location has flown under my radar especially as someone who truly considers himself an arbiter of taste in Peruvian cuisine. I can back it up having immersed my self in the food and beverage culture for many years ....Anyone who has visited Peru and especially Lima and Cusco understands what I am talking about. The food and beverage programming is on another level and ARTESANO was no exception. By far the Best Peruvian cuisine in New York City. Outside of the flavors which brought up so much nostalgia, the service was spectacular. When you set foot into ARTESANO you are entering a room with a team that is knowledgeable, a team that cares, a team that wants to so delicately tell the stories of the dishes and culture they have placed so much love into. Needless to say WE LOVED IT and will be back!

Delicious, different.

Excellent food, great service. Very pricey though so make this one of your special meals (2 starters, 2 mains + 1 dessert shared+ 4 glasses of riesling including tip was $320). Chef really cares about the food which is obvious when looking a the pass. Everything cooked to perfection. Annoyingly, we had a few wannabe fashion gurus sat behind us talking loudly about work while inserting the f word into every sentence 5 or 6 tines. Our server (Angel A. Was on the check) was excellent, he knew the food and wine list inside out and didn't hesitate to give us recommendations for our stay and was very attentive without being intrusive. Wanted to have the tasting menu however my partner wasn't in the mood but a big highlight for ne was the Lomo Saltado (cooked medium rare) and my partner went crazy for the salmon tiradito starter.

A scam

By Fernando Miguel M |

Food well But we doubled the ticket payment On the card. We went back to the restaurant the next day and nobody solved anything. By email we've been waiting 5 days for a reply and nothing It's a full-blown scam.

Jealous of those who have this one to discover

By Andy Y |

This was one of the best meals we have had in a very long time. Not only that, but the service was impeccably good. I would actually rate this 6 stars if I could. We went with our 10 and 12 year old boys on Saturday night, and my wife and I plus the eldest wanted to try the tasting menu; they very skillfully timed the youngest's starter and main courses with the right points in our tasting menu, while also speeding up our delivery just a fraction more than they normally would do. They also added an amuse bouche and the main dessert for our youngest. Such nice touches. More importantly for me, they approached the children with such warmth and attention, treating them like adults. Fantastic service. They were busy but you would not know it. The food was amazing. A good variety of dishes highlighting this interesting cuisine. We are not so familiar with it and we appreciated the lengthy explanations. It was a highly creative menu and fantastic value given the effort put in. There were only two very minor points to mention; it was sometimes tough to hear the explanations given the great atmosphere of the place, but we could have asked for a repeat, no drama at all. Also, we wondered if the dish sizes could have been fractionally smaller on the tasting menu, just because by the end of it we were starting to struggle and we are big eaters. But seriously, if these are the only slight things to mention, what a fantastic job. I have already recommended to friends. A rare find and I do not expect we will have such a good night in a long time. I wish we could discover it all over again.

Unforgettable experience

Do you want to spend an amazing time and have an unforgettable experience in Peruvian cuisine ?Than Artesano is the right place ! Best service, warm and soul atmosphere.Chef is a Genius! Cocktails are 🔥🔥❤️

Cocktail yes, food no (our taste)

By Cavillo1992 |

Cute restaurant although little light, open kitchen and very good service. It’s the first time we go to a Peruvian restaurant, so we were curious. We had artesano ceviche and fish ceviche, the flavors were not very different and basically there was always a strong lemon type flavor even if it was something else. We took octopus and octopus very good and soft, but the cream in accompaniment just did not like and ruined the dish (perhaps a matter of taste). Good cocktails, we had: pisco sour, maracuya pisco sour plus two more at the end of dinner. I count more than $200, a bit high for the overall experience. I'm sorry because the intentions are great as the service, but we were not happy in the taste of the dishes... given the very good reviews, it is obviously subjective. By a Milanese milanist

We got kicked out of the table!

By Victor D F |

Terrible experience! I took my family there on Sep 19 to celebrate my parents anniversary. I've been to Artesano three times including this one. All three have been for special occasion celebration. First two were impeccable experiences. This one was started out great until we were on the main course. I asked for a bottle of champagne to toast my parents. I couple of minutes later some girl shows up telling us that we had used up our time at the table and she blatantly "kick us out" of the table and telling us if we could move to the bar when were just served the main course. Mind you, we were spending money on this table and were about to spend even more on wine, drinks and dessert. We asked for the check and left to have dessert at a different establishment. Not to mention we were guests of the chef. Will not be coming back.

Fantastic

A fantastic Peruvian gastronomic experience. Refined dishes, with well-achieved flavors and textures and impeccable presentation. The Pachamama dessert, which evokes Mother Earth, is simply unforgettable. Service is excellent. Of particular note is the maître Marisa who with her kindness and explanation of the composition of the dishes demonstrates a high professionalitat. Highly recommended.

Artesano Peruvian Cuisine- Tribeca

By Karen G |

My bf and I wanted one last good meal in NYC before heading to the airport, and Artesano Peruvian Cuisine in Tribeca delivered. I’ve had this spot bookmarked for a while, and I’m so glad we squeezed it in before our flight. It’s just a short walk from our hotel and ended up being the perfect send-off meal. The space is stylish, modern, and slightly upscale without feeling stuffy. From the moment we walked in, every staff member greeted us with genuine warmth and friendliness. We were actually the first ones at the door right when they opened at 11am, so we went with their brunch menu. We ordered: Ceviche Mixto – Clean, bright, and super fresh with beautiful plating. A strong example of modern, elevated Peruvian ceviche. Pork Belly Sliders – My bf’s choice. He really enjoyed them but mentioned they were more of a sandwich than true sliders, so the menu description could use a tweak. Fish Sandwich – The fish was fresh, firm yet flaky, and cooked perfectly. Every bite was on point. Artesano is where Peruvian tradition meets modern fine dining. If you love Peruvian flavors and appreciate thoughtful presentation in a stylish setting, this is a must-visit in Tribeca.

Best new place in New York City!

By Inna |

Excellent! Food, service, entertainment. Best place that we visit this year. We stop by cause it was raining. It’s a new place. Spotless and excellent chefs. Our waiter Carlos was amazing!

For once, well worth the price.

First rate kitchen. We sprang for the eight course tasting menu. Amuse bouche, a spicy salmon on tuille base, tasty and fun. A nice ceviche, unusually incorporating fried calamari (it worked), sweet potato - after all this is a Peruvian place. Then a salmon tiradito (sashimi style), with passion fruit, avocado, unusually large but luscious pieces of salmon Then scallops in a red barbecue style sauce; well spiced but somewhat overshadowed the delicacy of the scallops. Lomo saltado, the typical beef dish. A good red wine reduction sauce but not as creative as the rest of the menu. Pre-dessert, a properly cold granita with pisco based sauce. Dessert a "suspire"---fabulous: sorbet, caramel, quinoa crumble (!), wine meringue. Attentive, knowledgeable service, attractive room. At our request, found a quiet spot away from what would have been the chef's table, very noisy.
