Even though it can get a little crowded, it's one of those places where you have to go if you're in Chelsea. The slice is pretty generous and the taste is oh..so good! Still, not my all time favorite pizza in NYC.

Had slices of artichoke and of meatball...yummy, yummy, yummy!!! Crust on artichoke is the bomb and I usually don't like ref sauce, but LOVED there's on the meatball slices. It was a great find

Artichoke pizza is great value, some of the biggest slice in nyc and super tasty. It was actually my favourite place, there sauce is to die for. Not as busy as the others, not sure why it’s highly recommended.

This was a nice place to sit down after walking the High Line, and we got lucky with a table. Ordered the pizza by the slice and server put them in oven the heat. Good pizza but not as good as if you order your own pie.

Can't get enough of that artichoke pizza! It's a good thing I don't live nearby, or I'd be going there all the time and big as a house. Perfect place for a slice on the go.

Stopped here for late lunch after walking around Chelsea Market. Had a bit of a wait because of the number of people in our party, but definitely worth the wait. Ordered the Vodka Sicilian. Delicious! The bottom of the pizza was black and we mentioned it to our servers who said thats the style since its “twice baked”. While it was black, it didn’t taste burnt. The flavor of the sauce was soooooo good. You can order pizza by the slice as well and ordered different types with varied toppings. Slices were huge too.

This place offers several pizza types, but the best is in my opinion the square red Margherita, simple, with good tomato and easy mozzarella. Worth a try.

I had the pleasure of having this pizza last week. When I first heard about the spinach and artichoke pizza, I was hesitant. When I tasted the pizza, it was a different story. The pizza was so delicious. And you can save it for later and heat it up and it’s still great. Definitely would recommend! Such a great pizza!

It’s situated right behind the Chelsea market and has an amazing vibe! If the weather is right, outdoor seating is something one should pick! We ordered the Artichoke special pizza and IT WAS AMAZINGGGGG. Whenever I go back to New York, I am definitely going to come back.

Stopped in here on a hot day looking for a cold drink and a little snack. Had a glass of the local Brooklyn Lager which was served very nice and cold and was good and a slice of the Krab Pizza. Generally a bear slices of pizza are priced very good and are really really big so you get your bang for your buck with a slice of pizza here. I will say that the crab pizza slice was smaller than the artichoke, regular Margarita or other slices that I saw being served at the tables next to me. Perhaps that is because more expensive ingredients are on the crab pizza but the price is also much higher so I would have expected at that slice of pizza to be equally as large as the slices of the other types. On that issue alone I was disappointed. The crab pizza was not overwhelming. It was edible but nothing special about it. The flavor was Bland they used artificial crab meat and the sauce and cheese while very creamy had little flavor at all. This was an okay stop for a quick little bite and a beer because the prices were good and the service was good. However I could probably find a better way to spend 15 bucks

A very friendly place that easily accommodated our party of eight. Personable wait staff, an enormous box salad and cheesy, tasty pizza. We especially liked the white pizza. Very close to Chelsea Market and the High Line.

Very good, hot and inexpensive pizza. Most of the pies on their menu are available by the slice for takeout. Their vodka pizza is to die for. Definitely worth a visit.

On a girls week in NYC we stopped in to Artichoke Pizza as part of a Greenwich Food Tour. While I cannot say that a slice of the artichoke and spinach dip pizza is the most figure friendly food around, I can say, without a doubt, that it sure was some of the most tasty! This no frills, stand up eatery offers delicious, ample portion pizza. Judging by the consistent stream of locals in and out picking up their food, it seems to be a big local hit as well. I would say Artichoke Pizza is a must try if you are in the area.

Among the poke and noodle joints on 14th sits this pizzeria that has been there forever and still serving up great pizza - my favorite is the Sicilian slice grandma style - could use some AC - in there !

I was so exited to try out this place famous for the artichoke pizza ! And my bad i was so so so disappointed. The artichoke pizza was more a soup than anything else, absolutely impossible to eat it without making a huge mess of it and also not good it tasted like cream butter more than anything else !!!! They also sell different kinds of pizza that i did not try and couldn't judge. But if you wanna try out this place and you are more than one person, try out the artichoke pizza but not all of you guys, you should definitely pick up an other flavour so you don't get of of there with a total failure experience. Only pros, people working there were very friendly ! Enjoy !

I’ve had Artichoke Basille’s pizza multiple times from different locations. The crust of most of their pizzas are thin but strong enough to hold up to the toppings. How they construct the pizza is cheese and tomato sauce together not one on top of the other. This place takes cash only but they have an ATM in house. The artichoke pizza is amazing but huge. Big enough for two people or one really hungry person. This place is much better than other pizza places in NYC.

You will not regret eating here they are well known for their artichoke pizza (obviously it's in the name). This pizza has a creamy white sauce and white cheese with thick crust. I like to use the extra crust to dip into the gooey cheese that is left on my paper plate. One slice is enough to make you full or even share with another person. Ask them to cut the pizza in half and they will. Artichokes pizza has expanded to Brooklyn and the JFK airport. They also deliver on seamless. You won't regret trying this pizza sober or drunk.

Me, my wife and my son visited the place on 15 Sept for lunch and believe me it was a superb experience. The place may be lacking in ambience but it makes up for that by way of the food.

My friend recommended eating here after visiting Strand Bookstore. The pizza slices are huge and full of flavor. I recommend the artichoke pizza, it's their signature pizza. They also have other classic flavors to choose from at a great price.

crab pizza was simply lifechanging. HUGE slice for $5. Staff members were kind enough to offer cutting the pizza to share. Big enough for 2 people to share. Pizza was nice and creamy. Simply amazing.

We came across upon artichoke pizza during a NY food tour, and tried their famous artichoke pizza. The slice itself was huge, tasty but also very heavy due the the cream and fatty cheese. The other types of pizza there seemed more appealing and less loaded with cream.

We took a walk on the High Line and decided to exit for lunch to try Artichoke Pizza which was close by. A family member recommended it from a previous trip to NYC. It's kind of small inside but we were able to get a table right away. If it's packed, there's seating at the bar too. Service was good and I recommend trying an artichoke pizza slice and the margarita pizza too.

Most incredible pizza place! I would obviously recommend the signature artichoke one with creamy base, absolutely delicious

As I went to order my two slices of pizza I asked to use the restroom and a tall african american security guard screamed at me for asking to go to the restroom and wouldn't even let me in. He left and another security guard was at the door and allowed me to use the bathroom since I was a paying customer. As I walk into the bathroom the security guard who didn't want me in FOLLOWED me INTO the restroom and forced me out by dragging me out by the arm and was literally screaming at me in front of everyone saying, "I told you not to use the bathroom here!!! Leave!! I am NYPD" I asked for his badge because, wtf???? I just wanted pizza? The moron didn't have one because he was clearly lying. I had to BEG HIM to allow me to go to the bathroom. I was disgusted and in so much pain because I was holding back from going to the bathroom for so long, and became utterly embarrassed in front of the entire restaurant. Tall african american security guard wearing a back do-rag left me mortified and humiliated.

If you’re looking for a great New York pizza, you found it; Artichoke Basille’s is just incredible! No matter which one you pick, Marguerita, State Island, Pepperoni, or the famous artichoke, you’ll love it!

Having a (huge)piece of pizza at the Artichoke Pizza is such an experience. You feel like you really are in NYC! I would recommend it to everyone!!

The artichoke pizza is a must have! You won’t be disappointed. We went on a Saturday afternoon while walking in the area. The long line caught our attention so we decided to see what the attraction was. The long line moved very quickly. Best $5! spent while in NYC.

We went there for lunch. The hostess was not at all welcoming, she actually seem bored to be there. We first order Sicilian pizza and were told they did not have any, we decide instead on pepperoni and cheese and were told they did not have any pepperoni for the moment. A pizza place with no pepperoni, we could not believe it! We order meatball pizza and it was just ok. I do not recommend this place.

Excellent lunch choice and finally got to try the crab pizza! It didn't disappoint and can't believe I wish the slices were bigger! They're huge to start, but I could've kept eating. Simple concept with just pizza, beer, and sodas and limited seating, maybe 5 or so seats around by the walls. Cash only unless you spend $6 I think (which is a slice and a drink). Great stop if you're in the area. Or if you're not, still stop by.

We stumbled in this restaurant and went in with pretty low expectations. but with great curiosity about the quality of american pizza. To our surprise, the pizza pie slices, though different from italian style pizza, were very tasty. You can choose slices from different kinds, and we chose the meatball, pepperoni and artichoke ones: all of them went beyond our expectations, especially the artichoke one!

I live in Florida but grew up in NYC. Of course we have pizza..even called NYPizza..but I wanted a REAL pizza. Every time I'm in NYC I go to 14th street.. it's incredible. Get the articholk pizza...by the slice . the real deal .

The pizza slices are extremely delicious and chunky. It’s about 6-7$ per slice. My 7 year old loved it too. There is no seating in the pizza place and you would have to stand (very limited place) or take away. Beware of parking, very limited street parking.

I hate standing on lines that's why i avoid a lot of places to eat but first time for everything i guess and i enjoyed each bit of the artichoke pizza.. now they have a branch in Astoria and i am regular there.

Typically I'm a purest when it comes to pizza and I don't divert from a traditional cheese or margarita pie. However, we tried the Staten Island Special which is topped with meatball and ricotta and we totally enjoyed it! Also, very good sauce and crust too. We started with Bloody Mary's which were fresh made and nice and spicy. Fun, friendly place.

I love pizzas so, i was excited to try the pizza but soon got disappointed. Maybe the style of pizza they do appeals to the location and place of the business. But except for their pizza being hand stretched i cant see any form of authenticity as it relates to a classic Italian pizza. I had the seafood/crab pizza and all i could have eaten was one bite. Beer was pretty good.

This is definitely one place that is a must in NYC and recommend the artichoke pizza. The taste is amazing it's not like a regular pizza. We went to the restaurant but the wait was around 45 minutes so we decided to do the slice option which was perfect. This way you get served quick and get to try different pizzas. This was also great value for money $6 for a massive slice. It's a must!!!

Go for something different and have their artichoke on a spinach cream base, you won't be disappointed!!

Great pizza And the beer is very good too Had the 3 large slices of pizza from the range Excellent price and authentic New York pizza place

Definitely the place to go after a tour by the Highline. The best pizza, particularly the artichoke one, for a reasonable price. You get more than you pay fore!

This pizza is legit. You have to try the artichoke pizza too. It's hearty, cheesy, filling and just awesome. I can see why this place is crowded through the night! We went around 11am and it was easy. Got a seat inside (it's very small) and met the owner too. Great place.

The artichoke pizza was amazing. Creamy spinach and artichoke and the slice was tremendous! Highly recommend stopping in here for an unforgettable slice of deliciousness.

Pizza is delicious! Shared a slice or margarita and artichoke, and both were great. The dough adds a lot of the great flavour!

Got some friends recommending this place if we would visit New York. Must say, it didn't dissapoint!! Big slices of pizzas with fresh and surprising ingredients. Every time different combinations so you can come back for a new experience. Great place!

Pizza is well below average - sloppy lack of flavor sauces and burnt crusts. Had the artichoke and crab pizzas - hardly any taste and bland . Not worth wasting time or money on this pizza joint - there are so many better places.

Wow. My friend and I ordered this on UberEats at 3:00 am one night, and it changed my life. I got a vodka sauce slice, and it was unlike anything I have ever had. Out of this world good. This was also one of the only pizza places we could find to get food at this hour. My friend got a crab slice she loved too. The slices were huge. We also got the artichoke slices, but they were a little rich/buttery/cold after having our first slices.

We came to this restaurant on a Greenwich Village food tour. We tried the artichoke pizza. We were pleasantly surprised. The pizza was creamy and delicious. We will definitely come back for more

In NY had to have a slice of pizza Was recommended to go to this joint and it didn’t disappoint us We had their signature artichoke pizza wow it was light perfectly cooked and so delicious Well worth the walk to try They also have your traditional pizza which looked very appetizing, but we were so full from the artichoke onethat we had no room

Pretty basic store but very tasty pizza. $5 per big slice. Not enough seating so most customers stand to consume. Cash payment not accepted. Definitely visit again - comes highly recommended.

In the summer you might want a reservation. The place was pretty busy for a Monday night in May. Staff was friendly and attentive. Cool location. Prices decent. Interesting pizza choices.

I have been many different pizza parlors around the world and I have never ever seen a pizza place with bouncers standing inside and outside. Other than that, this place offers really authentic new York style pizza, the slices are humongous, the dough is chewy but not too chewy and at the same time each slice maintain a slight crisp to it. The twist comes with their special flavors such as Artichoke and Crab, which is quite unusual types of toppings. Artichoke is their signature flavor, however, they ran out when we visited, so we ended up getting crab, pepperoni, and 4 cheeses. Crab was special and it tasted pretty good, the pepperoni was equally as good, the 4 cheese was delicious, but it got really salty towards the end. Will definitely come here again to try their Artichoke flavor. Expect at least 30 min wait because the lines are long. Can't blame them though, their pizza is good.

The slices are giant but didn't taste good at all. It had a thick crust reminiscent of cardboard. The topping were greasy. It's a great Chelsea location but the pizza is a real disappointment .

We were on a food tour of Greenwich village and this was one of our stops. They served hot fresh artichoke pizza and my daughter will still not stop talking about it! I didn’t think I she even liked artichokes…but by far the best pizza she’s ever had to the point that we will probably end up ordering some and getting it shipped to Michigan! Crazy! Thank you Artichoke Basilles!

If you want to taste real pizza, this is your chance. Seriously...Artichoke pizza is incredible. Huge slices, incredible toppings, just amazing. I wish they were in the UK haha. It's a take out (well you can sit on a stool in there but it's not a sit down restaurant if you know what I mean) so the service is just like a general take away place, hello - pizza choice - money paid - goodbye sort of thing. They are always super busy so it must be stressful working there! Love it and can't wait to have another slice when I head back in April 2017.

I loved the pizza! The white pizza (various cheeses) was my favorite but the artichoke pizza was great too. It's a perfect little spot with a great vibe and a good location. Everyone was really friendly. If you get the three piece meal just know it's more like 6 pieces but I was perfectly happy having leftovers.

First time to try the pizza in New York and by far artichoke pizza is the bomb.com 🔥🔥🔥 will definitely visit again!

One of the best pizzas I’ve ever had. Great service and location. Not too far from Chelsea piers. Try it you’ll love it !

Huge slices of delicious pizza! We bought just 1 slice per person and were fed up with it! Very tasty! We'll come back. Exactly!

Buy by the slice, wedge (3-slices) or Pizza Enormous pizzas, wide choice of toppings and some different choices. We had Margarita, Artichoke, Crab and Meatball, all delicious and very filling. Very memorable.

The place was crowded and I wondered whether it would be worth waiting in that queue for that pizza especially since I also loved the Vietnamese joint across the street the day before. But it was one of the best pizza I ever had. I loved their artichoke pizza and their meatball pizza.

Was walking past on my way to a comedy show and wanted to get something quick to eat. Had a slice of meatball pizza and it was one of the best pizza slices I have ever had! The sauce was like authentic Italian bolognese sauce, small bit of grated cheese and a nice helping of meatballs!

Poor service - they ran out of silverware and we waited the entire meal. They were able to wash two knives and never came back. Won’t be returning here

SO BAD, INEDIBLE & OVERPRICED! I’ve been going to Artichoke for years. I usually get the margherita but sometimes try others. Something has change recently - and not in a good way. Not only have their pies become overpriced (perhaps to pay for their overaggressive expansion to multiple locations at the sacrifice of quality), but they are nowhere near what they used to be in unique flavor/taste. I decided to order a pie this most recent time. That was a mistake. Although it came in about 45 minutes, it was essentially cold. (1) It was SLOPPY - sauce splashed all over it, around the crust edge etc. (2) it was UNDERCOOKED - yes, undercooked. (3) it tasted BLAND and awful - nothing like what it used to taste like when they had one location on 14th street. I actually was starting to think that it wasn’t even from Artichoke (remember the recent Chinese food scam with the delivery services in NYC where they were not even real restaurants taking the orders?). There are other great pizza options in NYC thankfully, and I will take my business there. Perhaps the owners behind this should actually read the growing number of negative reviews and do something about it - pay attention to flavor, quality, service, price and presentation. Sadly, you’ve lost 3 more customers here, plus the friends we share our opinions with.

We had two artichoke slices and two fountain sodas. The artichoke slices had burned crusts. Each slice was $9.90, and each fountain soda was $4.90. Too much hype and too expensive! It's not worth it. There are less expensive and way better pizzerias in NYC.

The woman with curly hair that seated us was terrible, kept us waiting for over 40 minutes. No personality whatsoever and rude, seated 3 of us at a 2 person table. The pizza was good but expensive for what it was. The service was bad so wouldn't bother going again; maybe this is acceptable in NYC?

Delicious! We had lunch and sat at the bar. Enjoyed a local brew and a slice (huge) of pizza. We had the margarita and meatball. Delicious - thin crispy crust, sweet sauce and cheese along with basil and meatballs. The bar tender was helpful and pleasant. We would highly recommend this spot for pizza!

Was taken to this place on a food tour wow amazing pizza on ed of the best pizza I have had . I had the artichoke and pepperoni piece of pizza nice highly recommended to go here when visiting NYC

Lovely place, they serve some of the best slices i ever had, tasted the Scilian, Meatball and the signature Artichoke - all were great and the artichoke one was a pleasant surprise since i don't usually like artichoke, do reccomend!

We had to try pizza in New York! Found this little place after visiting Chelsea market. No frills but good food! We ordered 3 slices of pizza which was more than enough for the two of us! My fave was the artichoke pizza. I would recommend this restaurant.

Late night stop after a few drinks. There a few tables and counter seats to eat there. Some of the slices were a little "gimmicky" for me...sometimes a good plain slice is all you need. But the vodka sicilian was tasty. The artichoke slice was too rich, with a thick creamy sauce that got overwhelming after a couple bites. All in all, our group enjoyed their slices, and they were quite large for the price.

Pizza is digusting, not even as good as a dollar slice. Incredibly rude staff, very indifferent, the cashier tried to pocket $7 in change by putting in his tip jar and when I asked for it, told me he had already returned it to me. This place does not belong on your NY bucket list or on any notable list for that matter. Not sure why they got a high rating, their pizza was just bread covered in nacho cheese, sparsely mixed with little artichoke and a stringy green substance. Sad!

The best pizza I've ever had in my entire life and in the whole world!!! Unmissable is the one with artichokes, spinach, bechamel sauce and peccorino!!!

In a city that prides itself on great pizza, Artichoke certain has created it's own niche. It's not like other NYC pizza and that makes Artichoke Pizza is always worth the wait. I love the Crab or the original.

I heard about this place from a friend but it seemed to far for me.It is in Soho but I decided to take the time to go and definitely no regrets. Amazing pizza. But make sure you dont order too much. Slices are enormous. We ordered 3 slice per person and couldn't finish the half. Enjoy

The artichoke pizza was awesome and I'm not even that fond of artichokes. Was recommended to go there by two relatives and we're glad we went. Also had the Staten Island pizza and it was great too! We were tired after a long day in NYC and my husband's back pain and neuropathy started acting up but we were glad he was able to make the 2 and a 1/2 block walk from the subway. Well worth the trip!

Get a late night slice of the artichoke pizza - best enjoyed after a lot of dancing and a few drinks. It is extremely rich and creamy, if you have a friend please just do yourself a favour and share a slice of it between you instead of getting your own. Would also recommend the crab. It is more expensive than other pizzas around but you get what you pay for!

The crust was the best part of the pizza, it was a little annoying when we got there since they said there was a 3 slice minimum if we wanted to sit down (it was pretty empty). Pizza was fine, the crust being the best part.

We looked at the reviews and decided to come here. We had 3 slices… the artichoke one is really bad, we threw over half the spice to the garbage, we saw the person who order before us do the same. Meat and cheese slides were ok.. funny taste and texture. Will not come back

Walked a mile from our hotel to try this sought after Artichoke pie! The place itself was cozy, warm and inviting. The guy behind the counter...not so much. Bartender made -up for his grumpy counter part my making us two delicious Cosmopolitans 🍸 good times

The pizza slicer thinks he's a rock star. SAD. Not good for any delivery people or company. The Bouncer will make you wait in line with everyone else. Food is okay.

We went as a family of 4 and tried 4 different slices. A slice costs about $5-$6. It is more expensive than the average pizza slice place in NY but in my opinion well worth it. The size of each slice is about 50% bigger. The flavors of the pizza is completely gourmet and unique. My favourite was between the artichoke and the crab

I am a pizza lover, but this one is really something else. Artichoke and spinach with a creamy sauce.... one of a kind!!!

I had the artichoke pizza and it was amazing. I had two whole slices and I was full for the whole day! Definitely recommend any traveler to try it out as it's something you can eat on the go as there isn't anywhere to sit. The cheese was just mesmerizing. I give it 5/5 because it's quick and convenient. Would of been nice to have somewhere to sit but it feels right that it doesn't so you can just go and carry on with your travels in Manhattan

It was average Pizza. I went there because it was highly recommended on several websites and since I had not been In NYC in a few years I gave it a try--NOT worth the trip. There was NO place to sit and the guy serving the pizza did NOT care one bit for being there. However, I can put all that aside if the slice would have been great, nevertheless, it was lacking for what NYC pizza should be.

OMG this pizza is to die for. Its so tasty, there is such a good selection and you can mix and match slices with the Pizza Wedge options. We found this place when we were walking along the high line, its the perfect pit stop. Would recommend 100%!

Avoid holiday night rush hour for take out section, I was there at 3 am NYE waited 30 minute around drunk people and had to leave because it could have been more. It is what is it thought, drunk people and hungry people are the worst combination. The worst part was the bouncher didn’t even care who waited on the line just tip him on the side you can get through right away.

Great pizza; nice story behind the company. When visiting the East Village, don't miss out on Artichoke's pizza (and Vanessa's Dumplings, and Otto's Taco's. Or when in the West Village, in combination with Mamoun's falafels.

Imagine a really thick artichoke/cheddar sauce on a crispy crust. The combination is pretty spectacular. Taste reminds me a little of Panera's broccoli/cheddar soup.

We weren't sure what to expect from a place that serves a unique, white, creamy, cheesy pizza with chunks of artichoke but the result was delicious! This great topping was supported by a crust that was perfectly crispy on the bottom. It seems a shame to just call it pizza - there should be a whole new category of pie for this one.

I love pizza so I had to try this place out. Got the white pizza and the crab one. To start, the slices are HUGE!!! I loved the white pizza with its creamy sauce and crispy crust. It was like eating pasta with cream sauce but in pizza form. The crab pizza was also delicious and was like a lobster bisque in pizza form. One slice is more than enough to fill up and for like $5 a slice, I'd say it's well worth it. Love love love it

Their artichoke pizza is fantastic. Very unique, lots of flavor. Pepperoni and crab are good as well. Definitely recommended!!!

Stopped here on a food walking tour in NYC. I was very surprised by this delicious pizza. Recommended!

I tried a lot of pizza places but this place is the best. I was there with my friends and everyone loved it!

This is the perfect example of a good NYC Pizza! We stoped here during our Food on Foot Tour with Corey and really enjoyed this place.

Small little pizza shop. They had a couple pies out when I walked it. I ordered a slice of the margarita. heated it up nicely. The pizza slice was very large, had a crispy bottom crust, and lots of cheese a sauce. A little greasy (read messy to eat while walking). Of note - they have a $6 min card charge, and all slices are $5 - bring cash or a friend!

Pizza is great... when they have it available, otherwise, if you want a certain type of pizza, like pepperoni, you get a huge amount of attitude from the server saying they won't have another one for "hours."

Came here because wife wanted to come after seeing on YouTube and on the web- So we went- We grabbed the artichoke pizza- It tastes SO GREASY- My goodness- How much cheese did they put in there- Get a soda, or you will die of greasiness- The artichokes were sparse- Yet it tasted good. I liked it. Except for being greasy- Put some hot pepper and hot sauce and it is absolutely delicious. But still greasy- Not bad pizza and I would even come back- But only once in a while- Wayy too greasy for me- Definitely, come and eat though :D

This pizza was the best pizza i ever eaten, the pizza was very big, and very good, and all that for a very food price, the employees are very sweet. As a Canadian, i want to go to new york just for that pizza!!

We stopped in here after walking the High Line one evening during our stay. You can eat in or take away (buy by the slice). We chose to eat in and after looking at other guests plates we knew we couldn't finish an entire Pizza between us. There are a couple of different options for pizza in the menu, eight slices (all of the same), three slices all the same for $16 dollars or three different slices for $18 dollars, which we went for. Iced water came free of charge, we didn't have to wait for a table (seating in and out) and our food came within 15mins. Th staff were very helpful and friendly. The atmosphere was chilled with a couple of games on TV, with room to sit up at the bar to drink to eat. We had meatball, pepperoni and crab slices all of which were delicious and definitely enough for two people. I would go back here anytime and definitely recommend it. There is also a subway station ten mins away, which is great especially if you've eaten after coming off the High Line.

I can't find the site we attended at 457 W 17th Street listed but it does seem to be part of this chain. Came across this by accident on our way to The High Line/The Edge. Were looking for food and saw people coming out who we asked about it and they raved! Simple and basic. It's a pub that serves pizza and only pizza. Buy it by the slice and mix and match deals available. The slices are HUGE and hubby and me shared just 3 slices on two occasions. Washed down with draft beer, sitting on bar stools at high tables. EXCELLENT! Highly recommend this place. Great food, good service, nice atmosphere, decent price for a meal for 2 with no frills and no added tip.

The artichoke slice is second to none, and you owe it to yourself to try it. The rich, creamy sauce layered with gooey cheese is complete perfection. The slice is a bit pricey, but big enough to split with a friend and still feel satisfied. If you think you know pizza, think again until to you try out Artichoke.

Way over rated! Great if you want to be over weighted. The artichoke pizza actually made me sick-to heavy, too much sauce. Also tried the vodka sauce slice-which was better-but still way to much sauce. I will not go back & can honestly say-there are fat too many amazing options in NYC than wasting your time here!

Best pizza ever! So huge so don't order too much. We shared one pie between four of us and couldn't eat it all! But it was delicious and the staff were friendly and attentive.

Excellent sliced, great prices, many varieties, friendly service- what more could you want? We were walking by and stopped in on a whim. I had the artichoke he had the vodka sliced. Both different, huge and delicious.

It took two full days after arriving in NYC for me to get my hands on a slice of NY pizza. This happened at Artichoke with a $6 slice of their artichoke pizza. This is a thicker slice of pizza with what you’d essentially deem as artichoke dip on pizza crust. My friend and I were splitting the slice and the guy behind the counter was nice enough to cut it down the middle for us. This place is CASH ONLY so come prepared. There’s an ATM for your use inside as well. The place is small with a couple of tables and some long counters along the walls. It’s mostly for take-away but you are welcome to eat your slice there. The artichoke slice is good but I don’t know if I’d go out of my way to get it again. It definitely hits the spot but doesn’t curtail this gal’s appetite for thin crust pizza.

So this was the best pizza I have ever any where else that claims to be the best is a lie! Simple menu but nothing can beat this place

We were here on a guided food tour and got a delicious sample of this pizza. The base is a thicker crust and on top of it is a sauce like substance that resembled spinach and artichoke dip. This topping is extremely rich and filling. I would definitely recommend either sharing a slice or having only a sample. This was an extraordinary slice of pizza. I would love to return.

Had a simple pepperoni slice and it was by far the best pepperoni pizza I've ever had. Thick sliced pepperoni. Clear quality in the meat and cheeses.

I crave this pizza! My friends and I would go here all the time. It is pretty pricey for a slice, but it's definitely good eatin'! They use fresh ingredients, and you won't be disappointed. Pop in and grab a slice. Make sure you fold it in half and eat it like a true New Yorker!

I walked a lot to try the famous artichoke pizza. Unfortunately, I didn't like it. Far too salty and very average. Really, I don't understand why it is so much praised. It didn't worth the walk. I won't go back.

We went here for a quick meal after an hour long flight and jet lag. Just wanted a quick way to eat and this restaurant was on my to do list. The pizza slices were huge and tasted really good! My hasband had a meat pizza and says it was the best pizza ever. I tried the artichoke pizza and loved it. But the slice was way too big for me ;) Only downside was that my brother, who is dairy intolerant, couldn’t eat here.

Went to the joint at macdougal street which doesn’t have its own TripAdvisor page. I’d say it’s the best pizza in nyc. Second time trying the pizza and it’s every good as bit as the first time. The crab pizza had good chunks of crab on it in a nice creamy base. Huge slice of usd6. Definitely can be shared between two people comfortably. Pleasant service. Must visit.

Small place. Tables available. We got carry out which is at back of restaurant. Give your order, get your pizza, and pay. Water bottles available to buy. They offer meatball pizza, artichoke pizza, pepperoni, margarita, and others. I had the artichoke pizza. The slice was huge and very good. No outdoor seating.

The place is very amazingly decorated but the best are the pizzas. This is an experience you have to live at least once.

We have tried so many NYC pizza spots over the years during our visits and finally, finally found one almost worthy of the NY pizza hype. We almost gave up and asked a friend for a last recommendation. ARTICHOKE PIZZA was pretty good; seasoned sauce and ingredients. We tried four different slices and enjoyed the margherita and sausage pizza the most.

Delicious pizza, a bit more on the pricey side compared to some others but worth every cent. There is not a huge range , but certainly something for everyone’s tastes.

When you need a slice of pizza and you don't need to wait 45 minutes this is your place. I love that they have four kinds of pizza think and you order by the slice the heated up and you're on your way. I was in New York with my daughter for a couple of days and we were heading to the airport and wanted some yummy food to eat on the drive. This was perfect. And the pizza was so super yummy that I miss being in New York and the food there especially in my artichoke Pizza. This is the cash only location so be prepared. I love the fact that the stack of napkins on the counter were for Easter when it was July. It certainly made me laugh!

We dropped by at 2:30am and were thrilled that they were open. And there were a lot of people that joined us in ordering. Our order got lost so we ended up waiting 45+ minutes for 2 slices. Sadly we were not the only ones this happened to. Their pizza is really quite delicious though - especially the artichoke

Sat at bar, ordered 2 slices of trademark pizza. Pieces extremely burnt. Tried to get bartenders attention, mostly ignored, then never saw him again. Finally caught the attention of the manager on duty attention, he threw the slices in the trash, went immediately to kitchen and brought back too more slices, burnt worst then the first too. Had to run down a server to pay the bill. Restaurant was recommended by the tour guide, imagine that! Awful experience.

Pizza with plenty of filling, but ordered with alcachofra which I did not find in the pizza. There was a lot of cheese that yeah. Place to eat in pe.

Pizza is to die for! Love this stuff! Slices are huge and totally affordable. However, heads up that there is nowhere to sit at this location. And it’s CASH ONLY! Just a bar around the perimeter of the restaurant.. No stools available. Maybe I’m the only person who visits NY and wants to sit when I eat. But we found a bench outside and bought some dessert from that coffee shop so we could sit and eat! Worth it!

The pizza was absolutely delicious couldn't complain, it's ashame they don't have seating available when purchasing by the slice. Only thing which stopped me from giving full points was the moody staff. Otherwise tasty pizza! A must try. Yummy!

Wow, what can I say about this place... it's quite small inside, but they are nice enough to let you hang around in there and eat it. I wouldn't recommend this for families, as there wasn't any seating. Unless they put out chairs in the summer which I'm not aware of. The price for an artichoke pizza was $32 and 18' per slice. To big for me to eat alone! It was a really nice experience and I would recommend anyone that's in Manhattan to check this place out. I give it a 9/10!!

We had such a great meal our last time in NYC we just had to stop in and this time just get a slice! My husband, son and I shared two slices,,,one pepperoni and one artichoke and had a hard time finishing...but we managed. We were not super hungry but happened to be in the area and couldn't pass it up! We got our slices and stood up at the countertop area and ate them...We had them double cut. 10 dollars for two huge slices...We thought the price was right and then jumped the Subway to Central Park and ice skated in March ....It was perfect!

Artichoke Pizza does not only have a polite and helpful staff but the best pizza (at least for me) even though I have been to Italy several times. Their odd combinations make the experience unforgettable. We ordered the 3 slices/3 flavors and personally it was a bit two big. I don’t consider myself a huge eater neither a mouse but I could barely eat one and a half. Also these pizzas are less doughy more topping kind of pizzas which are my absolute preferences! Highly recommended!

Not too much seating space, but the Za was on point and straight out of the oven! Good range of crust options!

The artichoke pizza was one of the best pizza slices I have ever had in my life... and I eat a lot of pizza! It was so good that in a city of great pizza we went twice! Highly recommend a stop (or 2) here!

Have been to this Pizzeria several times great food decent prices would highly recommend Caution when ordering the meatball sub it is huge can feed 4 people

I’m not a huge fan of pizza, in fact, i usually eat one slice and I’ve had enough, but i will make an exception for a slice of artichoke pizza. This is really creamy almost like they covered the crust with a can of cream of artichoke soup and baked it with cheese on top. Comfort food at its best and really delicious. We also tried the crab pizza which was interesting, but a bit overwhelming for me as I’m not a huge fan of surimi, as opposed to real crab, which they don’t use. The meatball and the pepperoni pizza were very good too but similar to so many other pizzerias in New York. The slices are expensive, i think the artichoke slice was $6, but they are huge and it’s nice to be able to buy just one slice instead of a whole pie. There is no place to eat but that’s fine if you just want a quick meal to take away.

The pizza here was amazing. Had the artichoke pizza and it was to die for! Great and quick service as well too. Will definitely back here again

This place does the naughtiest pizza in the world. The “Artichoke Pizza” is a must have, make sure you go when you are hungry. Also the staff are sound as a pound. Artichoke = life

Loved this place. Called in for lunch after walking through Chelsea Markets. Great vibe - music brilliant. Service quick and friendly - happy to sort our stroller out and sort highchair for the baby. Our family shared a couple of their HUGE pizza slices. All were totally delicious.

While the pizza was good, I don't think it would be my first choice when choosing NYC pizza. We got the Artichoke slice and it is very big and filling, you can easily share it. The topping/sauce was very good... reminded me of a spinach artichoke dip. Good option when you are looking something different.

Spotted this place from the Highline and checked out reviews as we were on the look out for a great pizza experience in NYC - we were lucky to get a table quickly and had great fun. Fantastic atmosphere, delicious pizza (we had the pepperoni) and friendly staff. Can’t really ask for more - decent prices too.

Just across the street from my sister's place. Always buzzing - high energy, wonderful smelling, appealing to the eye - unique take on a slice of pizza. I really only go here for a slice of the famous artichoke pizza. I've never had anything like it. First bite, I admit I wasn't completely sold - but I knew I had to have another bite...and a third...and then it was gone! Whenever I am in NYC I will go out of my way to stop in, say hello and enjoy a slice of their signature, one of a kind Artichoke pizza. Thank you for exisiting.

I am from New York, 14th street but I live in Ireland. Every visit to NYC, I make sure to visit Artichoke Pizza. My favourite is the famous 'Artichoke' Pizza but I have also tried the entire menu. All very well priced with outstanding portions. If you want "Value for Peanuts" I would absolutely recommend you visit here. They refer to a full pizza as a "Pie", which would be perfect for a small house party or a small gathering. 1 Slice is almost not enough but 2 slices are way too much. Please take advantage of their products and support this business in hope that they expand.

Some of the best pizza we have had in New York. The crust is crispy, the sauce is plentiful, and the slices are huge! Give it a try!

Post Covid and no indoor dining. The place is small anyway. We ordered two each of three different pizzas to go. The counter staff was less than energetic, pleasant or professional. After we placed our order instead of putting our slices in to heat he continues to take orders until the line has subsided and then serves several customers. I get it, but I don't. The artichoke pie was nothing special. The other slices weren't either. Not bad, but nothing that has me wanting to go back anytime in the future. Too many good pizzerias in NYC to want to go back for average pizza with no customer service.

Artichoke pizza, pepperoni, crab pizza, a few others....6-8 pizza types by the pie or slice. Excellent, classic NY pizza.

Been here before with a wonderful experience with the artichoke white pizza , this time not So much. The slices was dry and burned. Not so good ! Very disappointed, not worth a return trip

When I go to NY I always visit Artichoke pizza at least a few times. Get the artichoke pizza, even if you dont like artichokes (me) I think you will like it. Very creamy and Cheesy.

Best late night pizza out there. Worth the separate Uber/Lyft ride over. Highly recommend the artichoke, even if you don't like artichokes

the pizza slices are huge and tasty. the sauce is great, and fresh pizza slices are to die for. but, being hand-cut, the slices vary extremely with size! tell them you'll wait for a fresh pie slice rather than reheating that last slice for maximum goodness. staff at times can be rude, but i guess theyre just tired of so many people. cash only!

We came on a Monday night when the place was fairly quiet, so we could eat at one of the ledges. I ordered a slice of the classic artichoke pizza, for 5 dollars you get a huge fresh slice! The sauce was creamy and perfectly salty with a good scatter of artichoke pieces. The base was crispy and held up well against the sauce. A great slice of New York pizza that's enough for a meal.

Artichoke Pizza filled our tummies after a very long day of strolling NYC. We were hangry when we desperately ran into Artichoke. Fortunately they were able to seat us quickly. It's a fun place with lots of buzz. The pizza is good. Not exceptional, but it did the trick.

There is no seating in this restaurant but the pizza is beyond good. We tried several different slices, I believe they were $5/slice but a slice was the size of 1/4 of an X-Large pizza and came served on two paper plates slightly overlapping. HUGE!!! I wasn't sure I would like the artichoke pizza but the cheese was so smooth. Best I have ever had.

While on our guided food tour....we had the good fortune to stop and try the pizza here. It was fabulous. our group of four tried the Margarita and the Artichoke pizza. very heavenly.

Tipped off by good friends as "not-to-be-missed", off we went to locate the neon-lighted branch with the use of Google maps. Looking like a typical neighborhood eating hang-out, it`s no-frills and unpretentious. We were however in for a surprising food discovery. There are six choices (Artichoke, Margherita, Crab, Sicilian,Vodka & Pepperoni), $5/ per slice and $30 for the whole pie. We opted for "Artichoke", cheese heaped on dough, and then savored the order paired with drinks. Just like everyone else, we ate the fare standing against the counter lining the walls. The first bite alone got all of us hooked, prompting us to take our sweet time to indulge every slice up to total consumption. Cheese and dough both conspire to provide minutes of gustatory heaven for us. Result, we ended up with take-home orders of the affordable appetizing goodies. A return visit and another one say it all. Yeah, it`s definitely worth a raving recommendation for family and friends.

Such a creamy cheesey pizza. The thought of Artichoke flavoured pizza didn't sound amazing at first but it was the best pizza I tried whilst in New York. I was on a food tour and everyone loved it. The crust was perfect, not too thin and not overly filling.

All pizza is fresh out of the oven! The artichoke pizza, is to die for! Love this place! Its small, one slice is a meal!

Came here around 12am because I had some room for a late night snack, and decided to get the famous artichoke pizza! It was to die for! I definitely recommend getting it, it's worth it. 5$ for a slice, but the slice is big and rich. I shared it with my boyfriend and we were both very content. I heard the other slices are nowhere near as good, so I wouldn't go here without getting the artichoke slice!

Artichoke Pizza is amazing. A lively buzzing place serving great pizza. Have it by the slice (big slices) or have a whole one. It takes something good to be a new entrant on the pizza scene in NYC and this place is certainly good. The artichoke pizza itself is amazing. The service is great and you really feel like you are right in the middle of hustle bustle NYC. Give it a try.

Did I say Pizza, I should of said Pie. Wow, this place was amazing. The restaurant just opened so I could only order by the slice, in which, I ordered 5. Oh my the pizza made almost a full pie with 5 slices. One Alice can feed 2 people, because it’s so filling. However, once you bite into the scrumptious, mouth watering pizza, and savor the flavor you may want to keep eattting because it’s just amazing! The pizza is thick crusted, and I know it had a blend of 5 cheeses. Price is average, but for the pizza is well worth the cost.

Walked down the street looking for a place to eat. We saw Artichoke Pizza, and decided to take a chance. The atmosphere is unassuming, but the smell of great pizza lured us in. We were greated warmly and served some of the best pizza in the city. If you are nearby, stop in for a slice. Bring an appetite!

We were lead to this place on a food tour and the Artichoke pizza was so good we returned later on. I also tried the crab pizza which the topping was good but the base was absolutely amazing as it was thinner than the artichoke one. If only the artichoke pizza was on that base - it would be my last meal and I don't like artichokes! Highly recommend!

Always on our list of places to go! It was the first and last place we ate on this most recent visit. We always have a hard time deciding which one to get because the crab, artichoke and pepperoni are mouthwatering. We saw a sign that says it's credit card only so be sure to have that! They sell by the slice, but they are huge. They serve people really fast and usually have a line. (Also, the garlic salt in the shaker is fire.)

The portions are very large, good value for money, the food is delicious and the atmosphere of the place is great, 100% recommended to go. Two people can perfectly eat the promotion of three slices of pizza or a calzone.

Artichoke Basille's gives an innovative take on classic NYC pizza. If you're looking to try NY pizza for the first time and have a quintessential slice, this might not be your place. But the atmosphere is casual with plastic utensils and paper plates. The 3 pizza sampler for $20 is a great deal to experience an array of different styles of pizza and flavors, while offering artichoke and spinach cream, pepperoni, white pizza, margherita, and vodka sauce, to name a few. Slices are also cut in half automatically, which makes sharing easy! Make sure to try the famous artichoke pizza, but be forewarned that the cream sauce is very rich. The crust is thin and perfectly crispy, and we found that one slice of the artichoke was more than enough! Don't pass up on the vodka sauce pizza. It tastes like the best part of dipping Italian bread in a bowl of penne alla vodka!

We went to Artichoke Pizza as part of the Food on Foot Tour. The pizza is amazing. We had the artichoke pizza -- their featured pizza -- and it was amazing. The crust is spectacular. The portions are huge and can easily be split. Others on the tour tried different versions and everyone was happy with their choice. There is no inside seating. Not a big deal, it's just something that you may want to consider. We ate outdoors with snowflakes coming down. Still worth it!

The artichoke pizza is phenomenal. Crispy light crust, white pizza with great complexity of flavors. Initially had thr 3 cheese slice but this was no comparison to the artichoke. Just do it. Yum!

Found this small but fabulous pizza restaurant from a recommendation from a local. Pizzas were fabulous You can order whole pies or the sampler which is about 2 or 3 different choices in one pizza Slices are VERY large so one slice is equivalent to at least two normal pizza slices (outside of NY or Chicago) The artichoke pizza is their specialty and has a very rich cream sauce on it. Marinara and breadsticks were awesome too as well as the salads were large and fresh If you are staying in Times Square or across town, take the Big Red Bus Tour and you can stop off, eat and get back on Bus comes by every 15 or 30 minutes so we got over there that way. Worth the trip!

I generally go for a normal slice of pizza and I don't divert to new types of pizza but the artichoke pizza was a pleasant surprise. Take the dive and try this....you will not regret it.

Yeah, it is that good. 3 of us each ordered a slice of the famous Artichoke Pizza. After our first bites, we all agreed- Best. Pizza. Ever! Nothing like your run of the mill, dollar slice. Very little room to stand and eat your slice- prepare for that. But it is so worth it! Man who took our order was plenty nice and very helpful, and prices are fair. Make sure this place is on your list!!!

We went there on a weeknight and the place was full but we got lucky and had the last table for ourselves. The staff was really really good and gave us excellent service, patiently answering all our questions. We were in a group of 6 and had 2 large pizzas (way too much!!): one artichoke and one called white. Both were incredible and huge! The overall dinner was a very good experience, good food, service and atmosphere! Would definitely come back.

Went to the Artichoke location inside LGA. Was very good, had the pepperoni and anchovie and it was great. Recommend this place all of their slices looked great.
Something different for a European
It was my first experience of an American pizza! I tried the artichoke one and was surprised, not only in a good way! Thick dough bottom of the pizza, and I couldn't really tell the taste was artichoke.
