The Astor Court is a lovely dining venue in (or just off of) the lobby of the venerable St Regis New York, a Two E 55th Street. During our short stay in November, we had the opportunity to dine there for Breakfast. First, the venue is lovely, being located in the venerable, and historic St Regis New York. It’s primary seating area is raised a bit, and toward the street, overlooks additional seating. It is adjacent to the equally historic King Cole Bar, and that location’s famous Maxfield Parrish mural of King Cole (John Jacob Astor?) is visible. With its painted ceiling, and chandeliers, the room is elegant, as are the tables, the flatware and diner ware. This is not going to be a quick breakfast at a roadside Ihop. It was also the first of our two breakfasts at the Astor Court. The friendly, and welcoming hostess asked us to wait a moment, as a nice table was being reset. Moments later, we were seated at a lovely 4-top, with a full view of the main dining area. We had coffee quickly (regular and decaf), and began reading the extensive menu. After a bit, I decided on the “Spanish-style Fried Eggs” – crunchy sourdough, salsa Romesco, Spanish ham and shaved Manchego + Orange Juice. My wife kept is a bit more simple, and ordered the American Breakfast – ‘two organic eggs” (over medium), breakfast potatoes, applewood-smoked bacon, and wheat toast. Along the way, a small baskets of pastries arrived. To say that the portions were large, would be an understatement, and especially with the pastries, we struggled to finish – or come close to finishing. We learned a lesson, and would split a single breakfast, the next morning. Everything was very good, though the “Spanish Ham” was a bit tough to cut, even with a serrated-edged knife. My wife’s Eggs were cooked perfectly, which sounds easy, “over medium,” but she ends up with “over easy,” or “over well,” most often. These were perfect. The Bacon was crisp, and very flavorful. For the next morning, we did a reprise of the American Breakfast, but with eggs scrambled, and substituted the Kassler Rippchen Pork Loin, for the Bacon – and split this dish – we had “broken the code.” The quantities were perfect. The Kassler Rippchen was more tender, than my Spanish Ham, the day before, but I was hard-pressed to tell it from Canadian Bacon – still, quite tasty, but my expectations were wrong. Service was efficient (we did wait a bit for more coffee once), and very friendly, from our hostesses (different each morning), to the server, to the bussers. The room was gorgeous, and I kept finding new, interesting details, during both meals. As there were still some interesting dishes, that we did not get around to, I hope to explore the menu more extensively, when we return in May. While not inexpensive, we found dining at the Astor Court for breakfast, was a “value” for us.

We had christmas dinner here the food was amazing the room was stunning it was very pricey however we enjoyed it i would perhaps suggest a new way to organise peoples coats etc. As they brought mine out and gave it to somebody else and i saw this happen a few times throughout the mean other than that really lovely place

A friend stayed at the St. Regis recently and I joined her for breakfasts on a couple of mornings. Both food and service were very good; try the small bagels with chive cream cheese and local smoked salmon or the shakshuka with grilled pita. The St. Regis Christmas decorations are charming. I had never been here, so I stepped into the King Cole Bar to see the famous Maxfield Parrish mural and we also went down to the lower level to see the display of hotel memorabilia, including old menus and historic photographs. I had to work so I didn't indulge the famous bloody marys, but I have it on good authority that they are delicious. I noticed that the restaurant has a rack of morning papers; several solo diners were reading. Nice to see people enjoying newsprint along with their breakfasts!

The service here was excellent and the ambiance lovely. The food, however, was very expensive which would have been justified and expected considering the location in the St. Regis. However, for those prices we expect top of the line food and it was anything but. A hamburger and fries, a very mediocre pasta with a few meatballs, a glass of tea and a glass of wine was $150 and quite unmemorable.

Excellent food good service family environment. When you going out from the hotel,is very convenient to shopping on Fifth Avenue.

We visited for a dinner before a concert at Carnegie. The shrimp cocktail was enormous and delicious. The filet mignon was average. I have had better at many cheaper restaurants. Additionally, it t was not the most flavorful. The potato strings served with the entree were simply pointless. The drinks were alright and the after-dinner pastries were amazing.

This was our second visit to The Astor Court is a lovely dining venue in (or just off of) the lobby of the venerable St Regis New York, a Two E 55th Street. During our short stay in May, we had the opportunity to dine there for Breakfast, and again for Lunch, during our brief stay at the St Regis. Just as with the first visit(s), the previous November, the venue was lovely, with a ceiling, that just calls for one to sit, admire and reflect. The room is elegant, and understated. We were promptly seated, and had the menus in front of for both meals. We had coffee quickly (regular and decaf), and began reading the extensive menu. Having just had the “Spanish-style Fried Eggs” I opted for the Eggs Benedict, which was an excellent choice.. Once again, my wife kept is a bit more simple, and ordered the American Breakfast – ‘two organic eggs” (over medium), breakfast potatoes, applewood-smoked bacon, and wheat toast. Along the way, a small baskets of pastries arrived. The portions, as per our previous visit were still large, but we had learned our lesson, so knew to keep things simple. The Eggs Benedict were excellent, and the Hollandaise Sauce perfectly smooth, with a wonderful tang. The Canadian Bacon was cooked to perfection, as were my wife’s Eggs Over Medium.. For our Lunch visit, I ordered the St Regis Bacon Cheddar Burger, and my wife the Simply Grilled Swordfish. Both were very good, though the Shoestring Potatoes accompanying the Swordfish, were a bit overdone, at least by my palate. I was surprised that the pickles, which came on the plate with the Burger were sweet pickles, as I feel that a dill, or sour, would have been a better choice. My Burger was moist, with a perfect char on the patty, and my wife’s fish was perfectly cooked. For both meals, service was efficient and friendly, and we played around with their varied B-T-G wine list: the Conti di Calosso “Cortin” Viognier ‘15, Cakebread Napa Chardonnay ‘15, Jordan Russian River Valley Chardonnay ‘15, Conti di Calosso Barolo ‘10 and the David Bruce Sonoma County Pinot Noir ‘15. Two excellent meals (probably better than on our previous visit), in a lovely venue, with excellent service. What more could one ask for?

A lovely tablecloth set presentation of freshly steeped leaf teas, savoury bites, and miniature pastry desserts amidst glittering chandeliers, gilded mouldings & iconic classical painted panels in the elegant & historic Astor Court of the St. Regis Hotel on 55th St. NYC. The Dali $85 includes a caviar topped savoury, crab pocket, duck confit on pumpernickle, while The Lady Astor $65 features Smoked Salmon with capers, Traditional Cucumber & Creamed Cheese amoung others. Sampling of miniature pastries & tarts, scones served with whipped butter, jams, honey & lemon curd. Champage by bottle or glass $32. Courteous tableside service. Reservations suggested. Quite busy the day we went.

Located just off the lobby in the iconic St Regis New York hotel, Astor Court is their main venue for breakfast and lunch (dinner is also served but I can't comment on that). The room is airy and open but a bit boring in terms of decor. I feel like it's not "part" of the art deco hotel surrounding. But, it's a perfectly nice spot for breakfast or lunch. Service was helpful and professional although the staff seemed a but rushed as if not enough staff for the busy mid day time. I planned to order the lobster roll as well as an appetiser but I appreciated the waiter informing me the lobster dish was substantial and I probably wouldn't need an additional dish. While the management may not like that, I did greatly appreciate the honesty. The lobster roll arrived and he was indeed correct. It consisted of a grilled bun with an enormous pile of lobster meat. The lobster was seasoned with some herbs and while I would prefer simply with salt and pepper, it was nonetheless delicious. The roll also came with a generous portion of fries, which were good but not spectacular. The lobster is what counts anyway. The price was reasonable for the amount of lobster as well as the hotel environment. I rate it as a very good value even if I wasn't in a hotel. I saw the burger at my neighbors table and it too, looked terrific. I would consider that on my next visit. Even if you're not staying at the St Regis, splurge a little and stop in for a maine lobster roll.

Nice ambiance, comfortable seating, good service are the positive attributes. Stale bread, average onion soup, overcooked lamb, exorbitant pricing are the negative attributes.

Astor Court at Le St Regis New York Chic Brunches in Chic place; Le St Regis Style.... Le St Regis was our selected "hub" for a long time planned and cherished 6 days Gastroutour in New York...that was a perfect choice ! In those gastrotour days we enjoyed a great parade of gastronomic high end places; starting with Daniel. After Daniel was Atera followed by Bouley and Gabriel Kreuther. We left for our last evenings two of the greatest restaurants in NY; "Eleven Madison Park"...were we went "in style" sited back in Le St Regis Hotel's Bentley (nice courtesy of the Hotel). Finishing up, our line up of fantastic evenings, at non other than "Le Bernardin"...one of our top favorites! We are late eaters- European style- and, as planned, we enjoyed most of our late breakfasts, rather Brunches, at St Regis. Only exception was "Nougatine" at Jean Georges...a place that we hadn't tried before "Astor Court" is the splendid Restaurant and Bar areas in the chic-great Le St Regis Hotel and there we were pampered every day by their friendly-well trained staff. As architect and Hotel Owner I immediately notice not only the clever and self-standing location of "Astor Court", but mainly its beautiful and fantastic high ceilings with its great "frescoes" painting works. That is something cheerful for spirits of art lovers, like we are Our first day there we were joyfully received by the great Hostess and showed to a nice table that we make it "ours" for the whole week. Once in the table, after a great-easy conversation with the server-as soon as he knew our "attractive" last name- he bring over a glass of their signature cocktail... ...yes; you already guess that name; "Casanova" ! Of course; some "fun time" was in order regarding that cocktail name. Regarding service I would like to apologize, but we can't recall their names at this time, but- all of them- were as great as they could be to both of us. As an "entrepreneur" with a lifetime involved in Hotel and restaurants...I deeply know and I'm well aware of how important is to receive that personalized and spontaneous friendly treatment as a costumer. All our meals there were great ones; great recipes, great variation of dishes, but mainly...GREAT FRESHNESS IN ALL PRODUCTS ! Every day we started our "brunchy" moments with a glass of Champagne which was-always- fresh opened for us. Most of the time we had, after fresh season fruits: "Eggs Benedictine", properly cooked and served...sometimes with smoke salmon and others with selected ham. My wife once ordered a Falafel Wrap that was great as well. Several times we enjoyed their splendid Cheeses and dry fruits plate All those delicacies were finished up-of course-with a freshly grinned cafe which was so good that probably came from those highest-cold- mountains in the caribbean...in our beloved DR Island ! Wondering about prices ? I'm sorry, but I din't care about it and joyfully signed all our bills to our nice room...well above in Le St Regis [you can see menu prices example in my pic] When we - my wife and myself- are enjoying Gastrotour moments is not that we don't care about how much are we spending, but we mostly concentrate ourselves in our happiness. Always content with what life has give to us !

Pleasant surprise at Astor Court. Great food and service. I highly recommend the pork chops. BYOB-friendly (corkage is $50). We'll be back.

We had afternoon tea as part of our package while staying at the St. Regis. The food was good (finger sandwiches, scones, various desserts), but the service was very slow. There were not many people in the restaurant at the time, so it is baffling as to why the service was so bad. It took forever to get a glass of water. Despite the poor service, we enjoyed the food and the tea. Just be prepared to wait if you dine here.

I thoroughly enjoyed having breakfast at the Astor Court during a recent business trip. The food was delicious, and the service was excellent. Their shakshuka is a particular favorite, but their menu accommodates all tastes and appetites. The space itself is simply lovely.

This elegant open air restaurant has superb food and cocktails. The staff is very friendly. I highly recommend the fish. Outstanding selection of wines.

I dined at the Astor Court for breakfast as I was staying at the St. Regis and I was beyond impressed with everything. As the restaurant attached to a 5 star hotel you would expect the dining area and menu to be 5 star as well. It certainly didn't disappoint, especially when I saw the menu and noticed the Titanic Omelette (An omelette that costs the small price of $125 with lobster and caviar) Out of the gate the service was great. Our server's name was Ridwan and he was very accommodating in providing his advice, suggestions, and just being hospitable. The items that we got along with their ratings are: Eggs Benedict - 9 out of 10. The Hollandaise sauce was the best I've had. It had a somewhat lemony taste that mixed perfectly with the runny egg and smoked salmon. I would order this dish from here every time. Flax Seed Pancakes with Blueberry - 8 out of 10. These were good. Not great but good. They had the right amount of fluffiness to make sure they were filling. Cheese and Charcuterie Board - 8 out of 10. The fruit was delicious along with the honey comb that comes with it. The cheese were your standard cheeses that come with restaurant grade boards. I would have liked more exotic selections for the cheeses for the being there but it wasn't disappointing. Omelette customized with grilled chicken, mushrooms, and feta - 9 out of 10. This was almost perfect. The grilled chicken came in chunks and was extremely satisfying. I felt the way the egg was cooked was textbook. It was slightly above medium so there was a creamy texture but wasn't as if it was over-easy. Although quite expensive, the meal was great. If you feel like being bad and bourgeois and you're staying in the St. Regis I highly recommend.

When I first visited the Astor Court a few years back for afternoon tea, I was awestruck by its elegance and opulence. The painted ceiling and gold adornments were lovely, and it felt like I was dining at a truly high-class institution. Sadly, the place seemed to have undergone a turn for the worse in the past few years. The setting is still beautiful, but now the room feels super overcrowded and overrun with tourists. We went on a Saturday and they didn’t even serve afternoon tea, which was strange. The spot just doesn’t feel as refined as it used to be, which is a shame.

I stayed one night on business, actually not even one night I left to the airport at 4 am and arrived on a red eye around 10:00am. My major issue with the stay was the only meal I had was breakfast time. I was coming from a red-eye flight and I very, very tired. The service was not attentive at first, in fact the coffee I ordered took 12 minutes to come, where the table next to me received their drinks within 2 minutes at most. The worst issue was 3, YES THREE, sirloin steaks sent back for being over cooked, overly salted and over cooked. I asked for medium rare that in all industry standards is warm pink center and was told by one of the managers there that their is a variance. I told him, I don't think so. Every restaurant I have been too knows the difference. I will say this, the manager of food & beverage did come up to me personally and apologized and was very upset with what happened. The meal was comped, but I was just tired and wish my meal gave me a great start to a short business trip.

They serve tiny portions for high prices. The food is good but not worth the price! We only went there because we had to use something from our destination charge at the St. Regis.

With so many wonderful places in Manhattan, why would anyone want to dine at the Astor Court? It's location, at the St. Regis Hotel on 5th Ave. is stellar. The ambience is superlative! However, the food here lacks any imagination. Preparation is poor. Prices are ridiculous, if they are meant to reflect the quality of the experience. It is difficult to rationalize why the St. Regis management would tolerate the continuation of staff responsible for this failure. During a recent stay at the St. Regis, we were provided with free breakfast and a $100 food credit amenity. Prior to our visit, we made reservations to have a Saturday evening dinner at the Astor Court. After observing for several days that few people were served during the dinner hours, we cancelled our dinner reservations. We did have three breakfasts and one lunch. The first two breakfasts were served cold, and we returned the second to be re-done. We advised the waiter that we expected our third breakfast, the corned beef hash, to be served hot. It was served hot, but the hash was so salty that it was inedible. Breakfast entrees average $32. Juice was priced at $18, and coffee was $9. For lunch, we ordered a croque and a Reuben sandwich, both poorly made. The corned beef was grilled lunch meat, the quality that could be found at Cosco. It was served on dry rye toast. Surely, the St. Regis should be able to recruit the best chefs in the city to remedy this problem.

By sitting in what used to be the Lounge , you can have dining and watch the people going in and out of the King Cole Bar . also fun great light food .. or tea , or whatever you want ...

In NYC for the Christmas Holidays and decided upon the Astor Court restaurant in the famous St. Regis Hotel near Central park. Online the menu looked to be varied enough for our crowd and featured 3 courses and a desert. Once seated we ordered wine and our courses. Then things turned bad....the Lobster bisque smelled heavily of fish and didn't contain one piece of lobster. The salad course was wilted and damp with dressing. We were feeling a little discourage but hopeful when the ravioli arrived and we we so disappointed in the weird, sweet, brown sauce on and around the over cooked pasta. Our entire table left 2-3 of their total 4 ravioli's in the strange sauce and we were not even asked by the server if everything was "ok". The desert finalized our less than mediocre meal to a crowd of disappointed diners. The bill arrived to the tune of over $1000 and we all agreed we'd felt like we'd just been mugged! Honestly I've had better food at Olive Garden. I'm sorry, but the Astor Court had better step up or be lost in the past.

I wanted a nice setting for my wife’s birthday dinner. We enjoyed it very much and thought the food was excellent and the prices were reasonable. The service was also exceptional. Very beautiful evening. We will definitely visit again as usually in NYC a few times a year. Thank you for a very special evening.

A very pleasant and soothing experience. We dropped in for Tea on our wat to Central Park and were pleasantly surprised.

Yesterday, I treated a dear friend to high tea at the St. Regis. We live on separate coasts and only get together once or twice a year, so I was hoping to really deliver since it was my "turn" to plan the day. Part of my plan for the day was an epic tea service. The St. Regis offers two, delightfully-overpriced tea services--Lady Astor's Tea and Caroline's Tea--and rather than share a single service, I elected to splurge and order BOTH tea services. I was happy to indulge in the experience, having enjoyed high tea services everywhere from The Savoy Hotel London to The BonBonerie in Cincinnati, Ohio (a rare and surprising treat if you get the right server!). Given the hefty price tag that came along with ordering two, separate tea services, I was ready to be wowed! What I was, however, was confused and disappointed. Our server brought a single, tiered tea service to the table, said, "enjoy" and walked away. I was confused to see a single tea service when I'd clearly ordered two, and my friend and I elected not to touch anything until we could get the server's attention for clarification. In the meanwhile, we used the menu to review what was in front of us on the tea service, and we easily deduced both that there was a combination of tea menu items on the single tier, but there were a number of missing items. I was truly confused, because I'd ordered two, separate tea services, and expected to receive two, separate (and completed) tiers of food. Even my stunned friend said, "That is NOT $150 worth of food." Our server eventually made his way back to our table, I inquired about the single tier, and it wasn't until I really pressed for an explanation that he (finally) explained that portions of both teas WERE on the same tier, and that there WERE, indeed, items missing. It made absolutely no sense to me that we weren't informed of this when he first put the service on the table, AND that we were essentially waiting for the rest of our service items to come out. Moreover, it appeared as if we were getting a single tea service with a few additional items on a side plate rather than two separate services. There just happened to be a table near us with 4 people sharing a single tea service, and I could not help but notice we had the same amount of food. I was truly confused. Why didn't we just get the two (and complete), separate services like I'd ordered to eliminate confusion and avoid the appearance of impropriety? In the end, it was a day out with my girl and I didn't want to ruin the vibe. I smiled and said thanks when a side plate of missing items didn't arrive until we'd almost finished eating. And I said nothing when our server accidentally delivered our leftovers to a different table where I watched a surprised patron accept my food and put it into his own takeaway bag (the server realized his error as he approached our table WITH THE BILL but WITHOUT my food and had to go back to retrieve leftovers that I no longer wanted, quite frankly). I even tipped...but poorly. In all fairness, some of the treats were very tasty, we got some great photos, and the musical selections from the harpist were hilarious/impressive. If those were the things I'd paid for, I would have been more than satisfied with the experience. I paid for high tea, however, and for the amount of food that was actually present, the way it was ultimately presented, and the service, I can honestly say I was underwhelmed. If it's ambiance you're looking for, a lot of these reviewers are right, this place offers endless photo ops of old-world glamour. If, however, you're looking for a decadent, high tea experience that's well worth the money you pay, I would recommend going somewhere else.

We had a great dinner here. Calamari and French onion soup were great. Steaks were cooked to perfection. Service was great. Overall a great meal.

When you really want to pull out all the stops you can't do better than the Astor, spectacular in every category, starting with the magnificent Old King Cole mural by Maxfield Parrish over the bar. The setting is the essence of swank, the service is impeccable, and the food is beautifully prepared and exquisitely plated.

We ate dinner here twice and each night we were rewarded with a very pleasant experience. The decor is very nice, the seating quite comfortable, and the waiter, in the person of Juan Manuel was outstanding. Juan Manuel was extremely accomodating, and friendly, but also still quite professional. We requested tables away from large groups because we like a quiet spot for eating, and Juan Manuel came through in the clutch. We had a wonderful Malbec with each dinner and that enhanced the experience. The first night we shared the lamb chops and the veal chop. The lamb chops came with french fries and it was cooked to perfection and was hence delicious. The veal chop was good but not great as were the potatoes that came with it. The second night we had the lamb chops again, and once again they were great--so consistency of cooking is good. We also had the "crispy duck and truffle arancini" which was exquisite. All in all we were not rushed in any way, the atmosphere was very pleasant, the food very good, and the service outstanding. I highly recommend this restaurant.

I recently went to the St Regis Hotel in New York City with my girlfriend for Tea. It was in the Astor Court. The ambiance was absolutely beautiful. The service was wonderful. The tea, finger sandwiches, and sweets were outstanding. It was a beautiful afternoon spent having tea at Astor Court in the St Regis Hotel.

Fled to the St. Regis after waiting to be seated at another very loud restaurant. They took us later in the evening without a reservation and it was quite nice. My meal had a large portion of fish and was delicious. Beautiful quiet room although they were definitely making merry in the King Cole Bar nearby.

Our waiter, Muhammad, was fantastic. I had the corned beef hash which was delicious. The others all enjoyed their breakfasts as well. Nobody tried their $125.00 omelette.

I was supposed to meet a couple business colleagues for drinks at the King Cole Bar but it was full so we grabbed a table at Astor Court. While the atmosphere was fine, the service was below average and the prices were extremely high (I should admit that I'm not a New Yorker so maybe I'm just used to more reasonable prices). What bothered me the most was that we were charged an 18% gratuity for drinks because we had 7 people. Shame on me for not noticing how this appeared on the bill because I also gave the waiter another 12% which in hindsight was way too much. I will certainly think twice before having drinks again at this spot.

Had a chance to have breakfast with two other couples. what is there in a breakfast: there is a lot: your first meal of the day needs to be exceptional to get you going right. Service was great to start your day on the right foot. Only thing was a bit pricy

Friendly staff, nice place, good location. It's located inside St Regis hotel. A very beautiful european style hotel.

The food was superb, but that's not what made the evening so memorable. Our waitperson, Craig Skelton, made us feel like royalty! He was the professional's professional in how he went about things, but he was also funny and fun and gave every indication that he felt happy when he was making us happy. And he did! I put him right up there with Mozart for being a genius at what he does.

We had a very nice breakfast here. The menu offers great options and everything was tasty and fresh.

Had a great table facing the Maxfield Parrish mural. Perfect spot to either have a cup of tea or enjoy a long afternoon with drinks and the bar menu. Service is perfect; drinks and the food are excellent. One of our favorite spots to spend an hour or two enjoying conversation in the middle of the afternoon.

Got drinks and dessert. The desserts were excellent and the drinks came straight from the King Cole Bar and were probably the best cocktails I have had in years. The service past 9 pm is very slow just so you know.

The location here is good but the service and breakfast itself is average. Had to wait a while before being able to sit down even though there were a number of free tables. The food was simply ok and not what you expect for then price. The table service was a bit slow and we had to repeat our orders to our waiter. There are better places to eat in the vicinity.

We had two breakfasts and a lunch here at the Astor Court while staying at the St Regis hotel. The breakfast must be one of the best we've seen worldwide, with an incredible menu of delightful offerings. The food was so good that I went for broke on our last morning and ordered the $125 Astor omelette with crab, lobster, and caviar (and 7 eggs!). It was divine! I was also quite full. The service and food are excellent. We look forward to our next chance to dine here!

Great service, incredible food, and classic atmosphere. You will see the whos who of New York while dining for breakfast

Lots to choose from here. Great starters and main dishes. Plenty of variety. Food was very good. Wait staff were top notch. Great choice if your are a guest at St. Regis or just stopping by.

Either a. snack or full dinner. Good service, delicious food with a sensible wine list. I would recommend

There are many outstanding restaurants in New York City but once my wife and I settled into our room at the St. Regis Hotel, after a long day of sight-seeing and touring one museum after another and looking forward to a trip around Manhattan Island on the Circle Line Tour, we decided we didn't want to walk any farther than the hotel's signature Astor Court dining room. It is an excellent choice, for breakfast or lunch or afternoon tea or dinner. And if you're interested in an after-dinner drink, you can reserve Table 55 at the famed King Cole Bar for $2,500. Suffice to say, we opted to stay at Astor Court, an elegantly designed room featuring pillars rising to a soaring hand-painted ceiling with Waterford crystal chandeliers, sumptuous booths and linen-clad tables. Sure, it's pricey. But it's New York, right? You expected a cheeseburger with fries? No, we didn't order the $125 Titanic omelet, seven organic eggs with jumbo lump crab, poached Maine lobster and Pacific sturgeon caviar. Instead, we started with French onion soup and a King Cole Bar chopped salad with shrimp. For entrees, we chose a Whole Dover Sole with sauteed spinach and garlic and grilled Wild Salmon with mashed potatoes and glazed baby carrots. For dessert, we opted to share a slice of New York style cheesecake and a plate of milk chocolate mousse with caramel ice cream. I'm sure John Jacob Astor IV himself would have enjoyed a meal like that. And he could afford to reserve Table 55, too.

With so many wonderful places in Manhattan it is often difficult to decide where to go for a nice quiet dinner or cocktails. This is the place! Choosing either of the 2 dining areas (King Cole bar or Astor Court) at the great St Regis Hotel in midtown is a wonderful choice you will enjoy! The place is very elegant, yet, it makes you feel cozy & welcome. The service was friendly, prompt and efficient (helping me navigate through the gluten-free options). Martinis were perfect and food delicious. I would suggest the Chef to use a bit more imagination in the display of the dishes (given the fine dining & prices) but other than that it is the perfect place to share a romantic, quiet evening. Seated at the table from the Astor Court you can also admire the great Maximilian Parish's mural in the King Cole bar! We are not into Bloody Mary's, but their Red Snapper is their signature, so you might want to try.

Poor lunch experience for 2. One of us was staying in a suite at the hotel. Poor service began with waiter rushing us to get our order in. His impatience was visible. When we twice told him we weren’t readily to order, his impatience turned to indifference. Complete mix up of our order. My friend ordered fried eggs and bacon with white toast. 20 minutes later he received scrambled eggs, no bacon and brown toast. By the time they corrected his order my hamburger was cold ( I forgot to mention they served the wrong food to each of us to begin with). While we waited for his eggs to be cooked. We shared my French fries. They were cold to begin with. I don’t think either of us will be eating there again.

By far the most sumptuous and unique breakfast of all the high end hotels we attended during our trip. Service was exemplary. I had the Gorgonzola Coquette and my wife had the Shaksouka. Really wonderful experience.

As platinum SPG member, two Am Breakfasts were offered. They are plentiful and well prepared. We also ordered a crab cake egg Benedict to carry away. All done in perfection. Coffee and freshly squeezed juice added the necessary pampering for those who can enjoy a fresh start in a beautiful surrounding.

The place was empty on the Friday night that we visited, and it still took over an hour for our food to be served to us. When we asked for the check, it took yet another twenty minutes for it to arrive. The food was extremely expensive and not worth the price whatsoever. Nothing about the meal blew me away. I would never revisit.

Excellent dining experience in a classic old style New York hotel restaurant. Very good food, very strong drinks <g> and the service was perfect; you were not rushed and could enjoy your meal at your leisure. There was conversation all around but you never had to shout to be heard as you have to do in so many restaurants nowadays. Worth a visit for a special occasion.

We went for afternoon tea with a group to celebrate a special occasion. The service was distracted and lacking. They left us alone for 30-40 min and we had to call the waitstaff over for everything. We called ahead to organize special food due to dietary restrictions and the waiters had no idea about it and took a while to find out. They didn't explain what any of the food was after bringing it out. They brought the wrong champagne. They generally seemed to have an attitude, and didn't want to take more than 5 seconds before rushing off. I would have expected much better service for the money we spent, at this type of hotel. The food was great though.

While we know The Astor Court at St.Regis is iconic, I still was deliciously surprised. The service was incomparable and all of the food was excellent. Every course was perfection. Every single one. But the REAL hit? The reason you MUST go. And a real surprise for three native southerners-turned Los Angelenos? The macaroni and cheese. Honestly the best I’ve ever had. Order it and consider this my gift from me to you. And be sure not to skip dessert or the killer wine list. We went with the Silver Oak and we were glad we did. Already planning a return visit. I think dinner there alone is worth another trip to New York.

Last week I visited the St. Regis to enjoy their weekly afternoon tea. My friend and I both enjoyed the Dali tea selection which is handcrafted to give you the full art experience. Our server, Tony Codita made our time there even more pleasant and we will always remember that afternoon. He was truly a great host and I look forward to coming back in the future!

My husband and I ate here because we were staying at the hotel. We were surprised at how many people that were not guests came in for weekend brunch. Once we had the food we were not surprised. Excellent food, Excellent service.

Afternoon tea at the Astor Court restaurant in the St. Regis Hotel is a glamorous and memorable indulgence. If staying at the hotel, try going early in your stay. Also try to be seated at a table by the front windows. There you’ll also enjoy the passing pedestrian parade as an orientation to the busy and global neighborhood from 5th Avenue to Madison Avenue. An energizing treat.

This is an elegant restaurant in the St. Regis. The setting is terrific, and so too was my egg white omelet. Prices are quite high, however, and service, while friendly, was a bit slow. Nonetheless, I would happily return.

We have been to Astor Court twice, two days in a row, for our family members stayed at Saint-Regis. Terrible disappointment. Don't get us wrong, we don't see anything unusual to spend over $700 for a dinner, provided it is well deserved and rightly justified. That was exactly the opposite in the case of Astor Court. The place capitalizes and uses the upscale location to purvey sub-quality food and drinks. First night we ordered 4 drinks, while waiting for our family members to arrive from JFK. The 'Best Address' was just tasteless, diluted fruit water, while 'Astor Midnight' was quite reminiscent of Kool-Aid. Then came two different Bloody Marys, equally bad, poorly mixed and boringly presented. The cost of 4 drinks was $100, before taxes and tips. Next morning, we had breakfast there. The omelettes were OK, nothing exciting. One item on the menu deserves to be mentioned, "TITANIC OMELETTE" (SEVEN EGGS, MAINE LOBSTER, JUMBO LUMP CRAB, PACIFIC STURGEON CAVIAR) for $125. The service - as much as it stands against the high reputation of Saint-Regis - was comparably poor. At no time condiments, honey and confitures, were replenished, and neither was the bread, or our teas, for that matter. One of the shiniest examples of poor value, i.e. high prices vs poor quality.

Good news and bad news! Good news is we were seated promptly. Restaurantis nicely decorated. Food is very tasty and service is attentive. Bad news is portions are small and prices are high. Two blueberry pancakes are $35 as was one lage piece of french toast. Coffe is $13 and cappuccino is $15. Tiny lobster roll with cold fries $36. And for our party of 7 they added 18% tip AND an 18% service charge. A bill for $284 of food became $439. Once and done for us here,

The sub-par dining room, compared to the rest of the hotel, is missing that expected luxurious feel. Everything in the dining room is cheap and modern. From the plastic chairs furnishing, to the polyester tablecloth, to the stainless steel flatware, etc. The tables are lined up next to each other, resulting in a casual bistro ambiance and atmosphere. The spectacular pictures of this room are totally misleading.

Had a very good breakfast today, good service and plentiful food! The room is quite elegant and made the meal a delight!

I had cocktails one night and dinner another evening while I stayed at the St Regis. It's expensive, but it's a wonderful setting, and the service is flawless.

We went there for lunch during the restaurant week. Both food and service were average. You can get the food of this quality in a less expensive place. Cocktails were expensive ($25) too. The risotto was just a sticky rice and only truffles (additional $25) made it eatable. The Ruben sandwich was fine, but again, you can get it in many places. Won't go there again.

We thoroughly enjoyed a lite lunch with excellent service here offering us a great Ruben and lobster roll. Everything was just as we would want.

Astor Court is the lobby-adjacent restaurant at The St. Regis New York which serves breafast, lunch dinner, brunch and Afternoon Tea. Sometimes there is a harpist providing quiet music. Sometimes the room is quiet - sometimes it is quite busy. It is a grand setting - but the room is not as stuffy as it once was. We stayed at The St. Regis recently and I was surprised at how good the food was at The Astor Court. The location is great: the corner of 55th Street and Fifth Avenue. This is an elegant spot for a meal if you are going to do some Fifth Avenue shopping or sightseeing.

The Astor Room is just plain old fashioned elegance in the St Regis Hotel. 1920s decor, great food, and wonderful staff who can tell you architecture history of neighborhood in detail. The Scallops are amazing

I treated my mother to an (early) Mother's Day Afternoon Tea on Saturday, May 12, 2018 and had a truly memorable experience! Upon arrival, we were promptly seated for our 3:00 p.m. reservation (just when the harpist began playing). We were taken care of my two phenomenal waiters during our three hour seating: Cesar in the first half, and Juan in the second half. Both were attentive and friendly. More specifically: Cesar kindly offered my mother, who suffers from celiac disease, several gluten-free options including chicken salad and salmon and even some caviar (at no extra charge); Juan provided her with delicious gluten-free scones and mini desserts, topped off with a complimentary glass of champagne for each of us. We both enjoyed the Lady Astor Tea and also enjoyed a starter cocktail (Big Apple Martini). Thank you to the Astor Court staff for taking such good care of us and providing my mother with a wonderful Mother's Day celebration!

Had breakfast at the Astor Court in the St. Regis hotel and was attended by Jesse. Service was exceptional. She was warm, welcoming, kind and I would definitely return. Great start to the day!!

Don't miss the Afternoon Tea at the St. Regis. Don't to a standard the Greek Gods would approve of, just perfect. Sandwiches, scones, lemon curd, macarons, and the tea selections - PERFECT!! Well worth the price, and a MUST if you are in NYC.

We'd intended to go to the King Cole Bar, but it was crowded and noisy so we had drinks instead by the fireplace outside the bar. excellent drinks and nibbles. Great service. beautiful setting.

The room is beautiful and the waiters are incredible. We had a perfect lunch here. Their pastries are to die for.

We arrived at the hotel quite late and had not eaten all day. We were lucky to be seated later in the afternoon for lunch. We both ordered salads which were delicious. I had a cappuccino and my husband had a glass of wine which he said was delicious. Everything was wonderful and the service was excellent.

We were in New York during restaurant week and we did not have high hope for the restaurant week special. How wrong were we! The dinner ($42 each) was one of the highlights of our visit to the City. We always have liked the King Cole bar and this restaurant takes advantage of being able to look right into that bar. Service was great and the food wonderful. Find it. You will like it.

We had dinner in the Astor Court Restaurant, located in the St. Regis Hotel on Saturday night. It was a good experience. This is the on-site hotel restaurant located in the St. Regis Hotel. We had breakfast here twice, but it is dinner I would like to review. Prices are high, but that is to be expected when you are at Fifth Avenue and 55th Street. Caesar salad costs $27, for example. The stars on the menu are four grilled entrees. The petit filet mignon (5 oz) is $40. Th3 Australian lamb chops are $48. The roast chicken is $36. These all come with a salad, grilled tomato and roast potatoes. This is all presented on one plate. I had the lamb chops. My wife had the chicken. These were large portions. I think most of the selections (except the lamb chops) are locally sourced. Drinks are expensive. I think beers are $14. Glasses of wine are in the twenties. Here is a benefit I discover. They have a $50.00 corkage charge if you bring your own wine into the restaurant. That is what we did. The service is attentive and excellent. We would certainly come back here for dinner again.

I went to this place for restaurant week and it was horrible. I am not sure if the standard drop during this week but definitely I am not coming back to figure it out. Food was nothing special and it took 20 mins to be served. The salad wanted to have a “flashy” presentation but it was nothing but big pieces of lettuce. Too much dressing trying to give some flavour, terrible execution (!). Average bread and main course... can’t even remember - maybe my brain blocked it to avoid the trauma of it... Also, We were not seated at the main dining room, but at a coffee-lounge next to it. I felt as if I wasn’t allowed to come in because we were going to order the rest week menu - yes, we were asked from what menu we were going to order from (maybe it was to confirm if we belong in the main dine room or in the improvised coffee-lounge). Obviously, Service was awful and at the end we got one smile, it made me think that they were happy to see us go. I won’t bother this place ever again with my business. If they don’t want to be part of Rest week, please don’t & don’t ruin my lunch!

Astor Court is elegant, delicious and fast service. We had the French Toast coated in corn flakes, a huge slice of bread with banana on the dude. Excellent. My wife had the muesli also excellent. Good cappuccinos. Expensive.

Javier was an excellent server, food was incredible and all recommendations were perfect. Thank you Javier for a wonderful breakfast.

Breakfasts are excellent and dinner offers a great variety that is excellently prepared.mservice is excellent. May want to book as it was full at 6.00pm prior to theatre.

Had the crab cake eggs Benedict with asparagus and it was delicious. The English muffin was on the side instead of under the eggs which was the way to serve it. My husband had omelet and loved it.

Service is fast and perfect yet never overboard with fresh desserts and wonderful drinks and coffee.

It's sad to think about Marriott taking over the St Regis - I am afraid about what they will do with it. At least for now the Astor Court remains distinctive and not robotic, with quirks in service and a beautiful and uncrowded (and frighteningly expensive) breakfast in a classic New York setting. We had relatives visiting from Korea and they really loved it. As did I. Carpe Diem because it's going away soon.

My friend and I met for Sunday brunch here last weekend. Delicious all around. The service was a bit on the slower side but everyone was super friendly and helpful.

We were there right before Christmas and even though I can appreciate they were busy, it took them 40 minutes to get us a couple of average drinks. The waitstaff was very apologetic and keep telling us that they were short staffed but if I'm slapped with a $40 bill for an average glass of chardonnay and a gin & tonic; I expect a lot more. Not worth it at all.

Astor Court was an elegant and sophisticated place, perfect for Afternoon Tea. The waiters there were extremely friendly and helpful. The tea and finger foods were delicious and filling.
eat someplace else, any place. it is new york city.
the food is atrocious as are the prices and the staff. i believe the food is frozen and the chef is definitely not worthy of a hotel supposedly of this stature. (which it is not)
