Excellent Food

By CorMom |

It looks a bit like a hole in the all and they have the entrance blocked with a desk. Go ahead and go in - the food is excellent, reasonably priced and comes out quickly. Near the theater district and a great alternative to the usual.

Great experience

By Jcbach |

Dined here with our niece and nephew prior to attending a concert. This restaurant stands out among the many Thai restaurants along 9th Ave. The menu is more elaborate and offers a greater variety. My Lava Chicken was perfectly grilled. We had the fried chicken combo, assorted puffs and fried calamari for starters and they were delicious. We made a reservation and were glad we did, it is a small venue and fills up quickly. Great service, great food and interesting decor make this place a great destination

Charming

By Julia M |

Loved this place. Fast service, wonderful food and very nice portions. You can call in for pick up, or eat inside. The place is small, so big party would be hard to seat. They have about 12 tables total. Happy hour is every day and good choices.

Cute hole in the wall!

By Nilaja C |

I loved the aesthetics of At nine. Definitely capable of fitting groups 2-5 persons max. The food wasn't my favorite and I ended up switching my meal to something I was more comfortable eating. However, the affordability and customer service here was great.

My go to Thai restaurant in Hell's Kitchen

By Stephanie F |

Stopped in one night for a beer and they were playing awesome 80's music. Decided to come back and try the food, have been back at least 5 times and try to bring friends every time. The staff is so friendly and remembered us from our first visit. Thai fried rice is the best! Pad Thai, Crab Rangoon, Lava Chicken all excellent. So far I haven't tried anything that hasn't been really good. Place is packed every night, great to see with so many Thai places around.

Slick Thai Restaurant on 9th Avenue NYC

By Surfmaturf |

We found this Thai restaurant whilst walking along 9th Avenue looking for somewhere different to eat. Really clean place with excellent service. Cocktails looked great but we didn't try them as it was too early in the day. Lunch prices were very reasonable. Food was absolutely delicious and would recommend that you give it a try. We will certainly go back when we visit New York.

Entrees served in small portions

By LynnCactusWren |

My husband and I went here for dinner. Our past experience with other Thai restaurants was that two entrees would provide enough food for our dinner. This Thai restaurant was different; it served small portions. We wished we had ordered an appetizer or other side dish to go with our meals. Perhaps this entree portion size is appropriate for people wanting a light meal at 9:00 pm after leaving the theater. It was not appropriate for someone wanting a dinner-sized entree. We ordered the Shrimp Massaman Avocado (sauce has curry) and Panang Chicken with Curry. In our past experience, Thai restaurants serve a lot of fresh vegetables stir-fried with the meat or fish. We did not get many vegetables with our meals. This was a disappointment. The curry sauce on our entrees was quite tasty. We finished our meals and were still hungry. We asked for extra rice and filled up on rice and leftover curry sauce. We were not happy to have to fill up on rice instead of meat and vegetables. After we left this restaurant, we were still hungry and bought dessert elsewhere. Not a well-balanced evening. I hope we can remember not to return to this restaurant unless we want a really light meal. Sometimes, that is perfect.

Perfect

A very cute place. Perfect for dinner before going to the theater. Service was good, drinks reasonably priced ($6 ), shrimp rolls excellent.

Great food as in Thaïland

By NDEPAP |

Great food, nice people, nice cocktails. Little restaurant in the center of New York, with food prepared as in Thaïland with delicate flavours. Too good ! Very good value price/what you get. Dishes with fresh vegetables and meat or poultry.

Great find in Times Square area

By mogilly |

Looking for a place to have a late lunch, my friends and I were directed by a store clerk to this Thai restaurant in Times Square area. Although small, the restaurant has a well-stocked bar. Our favorite appetizer was the spring rolls which were crispy and nicely presented. I thoroughly enjoyed my entree of pad thai with shrimp. The service was prompt and all dishes were tasty. Best of all the prices were reasonable for this over-priced area of New York. They also can provide gluten-free dishes. Definitely a great find!

A great find.

By saramarsdenille |

We found this cute little Thai restaurant whilst visiting NYC and staying in Times Square. We went in search of somewhere a little off the main drag and something definitely non-corporate after a couple of eats in corporate chains. This place is very small and cozy and well-run by the staff. The food was good, with a nice ambience and the prices were reasonable for NYC. If you are a party of more than 2, you may wish to book ahead. We were a party of 3 and had to wait about 30 minutes to get a table.

Disgusting tourist trap 😱🤮

By soinic |

Our lunch was a fail at this abysmal place. Upon entering a sewer smell was "welcoming" us! We almost left immediatly... The decoration is "kitsch" and place doesn't look clean and well kept! The service (we found it kind of aggressive) was unbelievable!! Never seen, never experienced this, du jamais vu! The waiter slammed a bottle of beer on the table and left?! We thought we were on hidden camera 🙈 as he didn't come back with a glass, we asked him to bring one!!!! Or is it commun "étiquette" here to drink from the bottle?! The only item which wasn't a total no go, was the margarita cocktail. Food was below par! Pad Ka-Prow and Pad Thai, sticky, gluey, greasy, stinky .... disgusting pile of ... "food".... which we couldn't finish 🤮 Be warned, it was a complete FAIL! 🙉 Don't believe the good reviews on TA, avoid this shabby bad value for money tourist trap!! Save money and don't ruin valuable time in NYC.

Delicious Thai restaurant.

By HH17 |

Wonderful Thai restaurant. @nine dumplings were flavorful. Lava chicken is spicy with lots of chicken. Best was Duck noodle soup. Lots of tasty roasted duck with delicious soup and lots of vegetables. Prices are very reasonable for midtown Manhattan. Attentive service and excellent food make this a worthwhile destination.

Delicious Thai at Fair Prices

By archman8 |

Four of us stopped for dinner before a show on a Saturday evening. With reservations, we were seated immediately. Many nice menu choices. Ordered the Tom Yum which they said they could make mild. I don't mind a little spicy, but this was over the top for me. They happily brought me the Tom Kha instead, which was much more palatable. Three of us ordered the Pineapple Fried Rice entrees with either chicken, shrimp, or veggies/tofu. Pad Thai was the other dinner. The meals were all very tasty, perfectly sized, and well presented. Pleasant decor, friendly waitstaff, and reasonable prices made for an enjoyable experience.

So yummy!

By rlm9477 |

Was headed to another Thai place and saw this on the way. Glad we went in! Food is amazing!! It's small but a very nice atmosphere! Highly recommend it!

Tops for Happy Hour

By GramCPA |

This is an incredible hole-in-the-wall place in Hell's Kitchen. I was cruising Yelp for some Thai food and saw this gem... great/spicy curry and an interesting cocktail at HH prices. Fun vibe, tight tables makes it a lively atmosphere. Not too many seats so perhaps better for a small group or solos. Definitely don't hesitate to stop in... if you don't walk past it the first time go back!

Great Thai spot close to Times Square

By Lora H |

Amazing authentic Thai food so close to Times Square. Great service. Very cool atmosphere that impressed my teenagers. Service was impeccable. Also great take out option.

Good Thai food and cocktails

By The Fluffer |

Beautiful restaurant with nice decor near Times Square. Fairly small interior and tables were somewhat close, but this is typical for NYC and we had enough room. $6 martinis were a good value and were fairly strong - lychee martini was good. Food and portions were good - we got the Massaman curry with tofu. Service was good. Only area for improvement was that my preferred dish, Panang curry with tofu could not be made without fish sauce. Would have been 5 stars otherwise. We would still go back because everything else was good and the place is beautiful.

Value, Thai meal that was very flavorful

By ski&brew |

We have a Thai restaurant in Keene that has a very similar menu to At Nine so we decided to try At Nine for comparision. Kanon Jeep was quite enjoyable; vinaigrette was different from the ginger sauce we are familiar with. Kow Mun Kai Tod was full of flavor and simply fun to eat; rice was very nicely flavored, house soup was disappointing in that it did not have much flavor. The @Nine Rama was heavy in broccoli, could have used a better mix of vegetables. FYI: the peanut sauce had a noticeable sweetness to it with little spice. Service was good and atmosphere was pleasant. Certainly a good value and the food was tasty.

Highly recommended!

By Kellfj |

My wife and I ate dinner At Nine tonight. It’s a small, clean, well-kept place with delicious, reasonably priced food with pleasant, attentive service. We highly recommend At Nine for anyone wanting excellent, authentic, Vietnamese food.

Great find blocks away from Times Square

By bluejeanfood |

Had shrimp kanom jeep (steamed minced shrimp wrapped in wonton skin served with vinaigrette sauce) and shrimp pad see eiw (broad flat rice noodle stir fried with egg, American and Chinese broccoli in sweet soy sauce. Very cool atmosphere and delicious food that was served quickly and efficiently.

Great little Thai restaurant!

By moore_traveling |

Loved this restaurant! Small, intimate restaurant with very reasonable prices. Cool neon blue bar. Great food, helpful and friendly service! Would definitely dine here again.

Very yummy

By 4CourtneyMac |

I rarely rate on TripAdvisor but I do travel frequently. This place is delicious and worthy of 5 stars. Delicious thai fusion. Funky, fun decor.

Nice Laid Back Lunch

By SweetMist |

I met a friend here for a late lunch and was pleasantly surprised. The restaurant is very small so I can imagine we would have had to wait had we come with the lunch rush crowd. The facilities are clean and well maintained. I did the lunch special which came with a starter and a drink. For my starter I chose the fried chicken dumpling. Very unique but it was a tad dry. I tried my friend's chicken satay which was mild but tasty. For my main course I did the shrimp pad Thai. Not the best pad Thai I've had but it did the job. They also allowed me to substitute the Thai Iced tea with a ginger ale which I appreciated. The waiter was extremely accommodating and a little over zealous with taking items from the table. But overall it's a nice place to grab a quick bite. I would consider trying them again to explore their other menu items.

Already craving this deliciousness!!

By wrossi |

Recommended by a hotel staff member from Fairfield Inn & Suites and I was so happy I listened! Food was excellent and the waiter was accommodating even though he shouldn't have been. We arrived when not too many customers were there so I requested a four top for my party of two which they hesitated. I made a comment that it wasn't all that busy so would they mind if we took the bigger table. They obliged but I quickly realized My Bad as This place filled up within moments of us receiving our entrees!! As I tasted the food I was not surprised because it is so delicious!! I quickly wolfed down my meal so I could free the table up for them...joke was on me! Needless to say I learned my lesson and I will happily sit where they tell me especially when the food is this good!! Enjoy:)

Freshly prepared authentic Thai

By chris b |

Had a delicious dinner after a Broadway play. Creative presentation, authentic food, waitstaff attentive. I love the smaller size of venue, creative decor. Great find in NYC, reasonable prices!

incredible price for a bunch of eatery !

By B O |

very good taste for Thai soups and Thai salads. Shrimps are well prepared and spice is reasonable so that you can really feel the taste of the shrimp, not the taste of the beer you have to drink for extinguishing the spice-fire in other Thai restaurants. Real Thai beer is served, Delivery works all the time

Delicious thai food!

By Zarina |

Delicious food in a small cozy yet elegant restuarant. Like a hidden gem. Love coming here for good food and company. I highly recommend this place. There's me with my thai ice tea ♡

Quality Food

By Jatemtravel24 |

I went to this restaurant after doing some research for Thai food in NYC, so I chose this restaurant. This place as excellent Thai food, red curry/pad thai/spring rolls are on point and delicious. The quality of the curry is very good compared to any other ordinary thai restaurant. The only drawback would be the lack of space, you may have to wait a while for a table to open up if you go on a busy night.

Loved the combination of flavors

By FLBFive |

Very nice but small interior. Decent pricing. Very much enjoyed their Spicy Basil Fried Rice and their Lava Chicken which was served flambéed. Perfect presentation, service just not as spot on, but would definitely return and recommended based by food.

A great find

By Rlahiry |

A small Thai restaurant on 9th avenue where you have a great intersection of price , quality experience and behavior. I loved the papaya salad and green curry fried rice . The decor is Christmassy but happy, it's lovely.

Best Thai in manhattan

By Ian H |

Visited this restaurant in the evening, it is fairly small and has a great vibe . The staff were both welcoming and attentive. I had spring rolls to start and a curry which was excellent tasting, plentiful & beautifully presented. Would highly recommend and I will definitely go back.

Very flavorful, but pricey!

By Bobbie W |

Restaurant is small, but clean. Food was very good. However. We needed to order 4 entrees for 3 people to be satisfied. Add it up = pricey, but it was convenient to the theatre district. The food was brought out quickly, so we’re glad we didn’t order all the dishes at once. Cocktails are $6 every evening!

Manager was rude and won't accept my couponds

By mel H |

I have this coupons for this restaurants.. Just called they told me THEY ARE NOT GOING TO HONER it.. and the manager is was yelling over the phone, we have stop that last week.. excused me it says till Nov 30ths that's tomorrow.. you just pissed the 1st time customer off.. so if that's how they are to the customer they service and food has to suck !.. this is UNCALLED for.. the manager should just honored it . I never will and tell people to go this Restaurant anymore ! YOU JUST LOST a customer or many of my friends who loves Thai food.. because of your manager action You lost all my respect as a customer to even step foot in there.. All i wanted to do try the food and use the coupons before it expire tomorrow !.. PS NYC PPL or anyone who wants to go there to eat DON'T"T they are rude as hell.. my purchased was going to be over $15 anyhow. its not about the free soda in all.. its about how you treat your customers .. and THEY FAILED AT THAT CEARLY !...

Great Thai near Times Square

By travelling_boomer |

Stopped in for lunch before a 2 PM show.Lunch specials gave us 2 meals (appetizer, entree and Thai Iced tea) for under $20 total. Portions were right sized for lunch. Service attentive. Food was very good and well presented. Just 2 avenues from Times Square it will be our go to place for lower theater district Thai.

Incredible Thai

By Kristina F |

My husband and I went here for dinner. Such a cute place, the decor is chic. Service is fast and friendly. We got the crab rangoons and dumplings which were both outstanding. My husband got the beef red curry and I got the udon pad Thai. Both dishes were amazing, perfect amount of spice with good portions. We will definitely come back. My husband works in the food industry and hasn’t tasted good Thai food in awhile. This was a hit.

Genuine Thai food

By p250 |

Dropped into this restaurant last week and had an authentic Thai curry. And for NYC prices reasonable.

So good!

By 100danii |

We loved this restaurant! It was right around the corner from our hotel and decided to go last minute for dinner. I got the chicken thai fried rice and my boyfriend ordered the pad thai with shrimp. Both dishes were SO delicious and on fun plates/bowls! The decor is fun inside and the waiter we had was awesome. We will definitely stop by again when in the area!

To flee !!!

By jaillans26 |

To flee !!! Very bad experience although we enjoyed our dishes. When we arrived we had a cold welcome: the person who seemed to be the restaurant manager showed us a table where we could sit. Giving us the menu, he specifies that he closes his kitchen in 20 minutes and asks us to make our choices, choices that we had to make in a hurry. Right in the middle of the meal, surprise, the manager brings us the bill. This is the first time we have been asked to pay before the end of the meal without asking us if we would like to have anything else (dessert, coffee, etc.). 2nd surprise: when consulting the note, we noticed that the restaurateur had automatically included a 20% tip without giving us the choice of the percentage. He even goes so far as to ask us for our bank card. We tell him that we do not agree and that he does not have to include a tip amount without first consulting us. He tells us that it’s like that in New York anyway, asking for our bank card. We reiterate our disagreement, the service and behavior of this person do not justify the payment of a tip and even less a tip of the imposed amount. He leaves angrily behind his bar to make the transaction and returns giving us a receipt on which the tip no longer appears. 3rd surprise. A few days later when consulting our account, we discovered that the amount actually debited was the initial amount with the 20% tip, confirmation of the dishonesty of this person.

Well worth a visit if you like Thai food👍

By Robin W |

You can't get Thai food better than this. It has attentive staff, friendly and a cozy atmosphere. One of the best restaurants we've visited in New York.

Wonderful gem on 9th avenue

By Sabine P |

We chose this restaurant b/c it was close to the theater we were going to visit that night. It was a wonderful experience. Friendly staff, great food and reasonable prices in an original and cozy decor. This is a small place where reservations are a must. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Great deal

By Tardykat |

Came here for lunch Labor Day weekend Sunday before seeing a movie. Nice decor! The restaurant wasn't very busy but they had a lot of take out deliveries. The great lunch special is also available on the weekends. You get a starter, a main and a bottle water, Thai iced tea or coffee of your choice. Portions weren't the most generous but you will be full. For our starters: Fried chicken dumplings, spring rolls and fried tofu. For our mains: tofu pad Thai, shrimp pad see ew, chicken massaman curry. The food was really good.

Excellent

By Doug6365 |

Probably the best Thai meal I’ve had. Good food for a fair price. Meal for two with drinks was $55. Can’t argue with that!

Very good Thai Restaurant

By globetrotterista |

I had a lovely pre-theater dinner in this restaurant during my last visit to NY. Its is a very pleasant small restaurant, with lovely design. The servers were efficient and friendly. The food was excellent. It was the best Pad Thai I had outside of Thailand. My daughter had spring roles and thy were very delicious too. I will definitely visit the restaurant again, on my next visit to NY.

Holy Mojito

By Colleen F |

Delicious mojitos in this great little Thai restaurant! The food was also fantastic (I got Pad See Eiw), the 3 adults in our party finished everything we ordered. The chicken sate was 4 year old approved as was the calamari. The wait staff was very accommodating for my friends who had a giant stroller for their kid, but they were a little slow overall. The place itself is very small (per NYC standards), but clean and modern. It's a very laid back atmosphere with reasonable prices and decent portion sizes. I would absolutely visit here again.

Welcoming Thai in theeter district

By EANYC |

We went for after-theatre dinner and were extremely pleased. The service is sincere and welcoming, the food is delicious, and the restaurant has a warm glow and a positive vibe. Diners seem to have a good time, as did we.

Trendy thai restaurant

By Vladimir P |

A new small trandy restaurant with authentic delicious thai cuisine. Very friendly personel with stylish decor. Be early since the place is small and popular. Spring rolls and red curry just super! Wine and beer available.

Pleasant Surprise !!

By John T |

Found this restaurant by chance , before a Broadway show . The guys working that night were very accommodating , pleasant and quick to serve . Food was great ... try the pad Thai !

A taste sensation in the Big Apple

Great spot

By Mark McCowan |

Small place you could easily pass by but really enjoyed. Great service , strong cocktails and really delicious food in a good atmosphere that got busy very quickly

Amazing Food

By holidayer186338 |

Saw the great reviews and so decided to try this place. The prices are so reasonable and the food is incredible. We had two starters (calamari and spring rolls) and they were both lovely. I then had the pineapple fried rice for my main and it again so amazing. Will definitely visit this place again when I come back to New York.

Pleasant Surprise

By rickpp |

I Was looking for a quick meal before an early Broadway show, looked at the online reviews and felt that @Nine would be a good choice. It wasn't good, it was great. Great quick service Wonderful Menu and the items ordered, a couple of salads and entrees were Great. Can't wait to go back and eat here again.

Loved It!

By Fred K |

Searched online for Thai food on 9th (always great ethnic food there) near theater for "Pretty Woman". Easy walk to theater. Papaya salad was FABULOUS as were lunch dishes. $10.59 each in NYC with Spring Roll included, what a bargain. Got there 11 at opening, watched incredible number of take outs. Small place (28 seats) filled up at noon, more take outs. 3 $7 dollar wines each we left for theater. My meal could have been spicier, got good sauce to help.

Always a favorite!

By Linda T |

Excellent Thai, every time. Worth seeking out this small restaurant with attentive service and great food.

Cosy, delicious, friendly, affordable

By Trav |

This was the best meal I had to NYC on this visit. The place is cozy with friendly and efficient staff. Prices are very reasonable and the food was delicious. For what it is and what you get, it is an absolute 5 star. Will return.

Great food and service

By Marisha |

The restaurant is quite small but very nice food at reasonable prices, particularly for NYC. Service is very fast. $6 cocktail offers too!

Superb food!

By Myboysareloved |

Name is slightly confusing for Thai, but who cares...the food was incredible! The place is small and a bit noisy, but again, who cares...tge food was awesome!

Thai Homerun/grand slam

By Chuck N |

Upscale atmosphere with down to earth prices, if you have Thai on your bucket list, consider no other. Sit at one of the dozen tables and absorb the atmosphere, the place is too exquisite to waste on to go. Elegant clientele with food every bit as good as it was in Thailand a year ago.

Chic Thai

By Sierra A |

Stumbled upon this place while looking for relatively cheap Thai food and so glad we did! They have $5 drinks (martinis or margaritas) all day so we had to partake in two of those, they were delicious! The food was even more amazing, very fresh and homemade, with a unique display and spicy kick. The restaurant is quite small so reservations are a must on a weekend night but the service was extremely friendly and always ready to help us with anything we desired. We will absolutely come back here!

good food - service should be better

By Myopinion |

Had a hard time finding Thai food around Times Square area until I found this restaurant. Cute, colorful decor and good food. My only complaint is that the service should have been MUCH better! Keep in mind that this restaurant has a maximum occupancy of 28 people! With three servers, we should have had better service. We never were asked if we wanted another drink or if everything was OK. The servers did not seem busy - they were talking with each other behind the bar.

Unexpected treasure

By Wendy R |

We were finding New York food prices really high for mediocre food - then we stumbled on this positively reviewed restaurant. Range of food was good, including for vegetarians - both tasty and served nicely. Staff are friendly - a rare treat! Decor is nicely dark, with blossoms and chandeliers - quirky, perhaps, but definitely recommended.

Very good Thai food at reasonable prices

By Wilma R |

Very good Shrimp Pad Thai for $12.99 which is a good price for NYC. My son who lives in Manhattan orders from this place all the time so he wanted me to try it during a recent visit. The place is really small and tables are cramped so be prepared to hear everything the next table is taking about, and viceversa! Don't expect excellent service, they bring out the food and that's it. Food is good.

It's a five star from me.

By Dimsky |

I really liked it! Very delish! Stopped in before the off-Broadway show with friends. I'm a vegetarian and ordered Spicy Pad Keep Mao with vegetarian duck. We'll, not sure that was duck flavor, but nevertheless it was tofu and it was DELISH. This place is definitely on my list for future visits.

Amazing food!

By MSQ00 |

We were looking for a Thai place near our hotel and they recommended this place. We definitely enjoyed. Went on a friday night. Very small and had to wait but well worth it. Not the brightest place but that was cool, atmosphere was still very cool. Amazing food, we had 4 different dishes plus the spring rolls. All were great, and I thought it was very well priced. I have already told some other friends about this place whenever they come to NYC.

Lovely meal

By Caroline D |

Had a lovely meal here .Margaritas were strong and delicious. I liked the decor. Prices were reasonable. Staff were nice.

Great Find on 9th Ave

By Scott B |

My wife tried this place with a friend previously so she recommended that we dine here. It is cozy with a trendy neon lit bar area. We ordered a tuna appetizer, a chicken dish, and spicy seafood dish. The entrees were delicious and spicy. It was a nice touch to serve them in a helmet shaped bowls. The prices were very reasonable. There were a couple negatives. The beer and wine selections offered are somewhat limited. Also, it is definitely cramped inside. It felt like the couple seated next to us (who were on a date) were sitting at our table. For those looking for some intimacy or privacy, I would recommend going elsewhere.

Mother's Day quick lunch

By auntjj_12 |

After worshipping near the Port Authority our little group of three, two men and a mom, walked to this restaurant. This is a small but lovely place on the inside. There was a large family there already and a few smaller groups but we were still able to be seated at a table. Service was prompt and courteous. For a quick Mother's Day lunch, the lunch special menu was sufficient. With a choice of one starter, one non-aloholic beverage and one main course--all priced between $9 and $11- you can't go wrong. The guys finished their food but I was able to bring home some of my Pad Thai for a snack later on in the day. Your won't leave stuffed to the gills but your hunger will be satisfied for a while. The quantity for the starters, in this lunch special,is smaller than a regular order of an appetizer would be but just enough to give you an idea if you want to return on another day--we would. The fried tofu cubes were done just enough and still moist. The chicken dumplings were small but tasty. The starters were served with shredded carrot and cabbage, over a sweet Thai sauce. Two of us ordered the Pad Thai, and, because this is a lunch special, pork was not an option as an add-in. I ordered the chicken and it was fine, although I do prefer pork Pad Thai. The third ordered the Pad See Eiw without vegetables and enjoyed it as well. So, if you have a hankering for Thai but not too much, and you are short on cash, this is the place for you.

Unexpectedly awesome Thai food

By RJDAM |

Minimalist and elegant interiors, marvelous food at a great price. They had the best Pad Thai I have devoured, ever. Their presentation was rather noteworthy as well. Would love to go back and certainly recommend to others!

A little incinsistent

By Durwood N |

The food, overall, was good. The Yom Yum was well spiced, but the Curry’s were a bit inconsistent. The green and red currys were above average and the spring rolls were only fair. Definitely avoid the vegan curry.

Authentic Thai food

By nzjoanna |

Wonderful service & authentic Thai flavors made this a wonderful evening. It is a small restaurant but that simply adds to the experience. Kub kun ka @nine

Terrible service no idea

By tottenhamSurrey |

We ate here 3 nights ago towards the end of our trip to NYC, we arrived around 9.45pm and was shown to our seats, not once was it mentioned that they was shutting soon and that service was ending, as if they had mentioned that not a problem as plenty of other places serving late. We ordered our drinks starters and main courses, the starters came out in around 15 mins which was perfect, we was eating our starters and having our drinks when the main courses came out, we hadn't even finished our starters, not even half way through, well infact two of the three mains came out, the table was so small couldn't fit everything on, they managed to squeeze it on but had no regard to us not even have finished our starters, we ate the starters and two of the three started the mains, the third came out quite a bit after, which isn't good as all should come out together and all be eating together, they then came over while all eating the mains with there coats on and said did we want anything else as they was closing, the chef had already walked out the door, we said no and carried on eating, they all was ready to go and then started walking rubbish bags past our tables as we was still eating. That really was the last straw and we felt not welcome at all, we paid up and left, didn't leave a tip, even though the bill had a suggested amount, no way was we paying for that service. My tip to them would be, don't accept diners if you are shutting soon and what terrible service we received, made us feel really not welcome at all. Terrible service Get some manners Go early or you will have staff with there coats on walking rubbush in black bags past your table

Best Thai I've ever had!

By Xores1 |

This restaurant is amazing and you MUST give it a try! I had the best Thai meal in my life here, the Massaman curry was exceptional, the flavours were incredible and the portion size very generous at a reasonable price. My girlfriend had the pad Thai and her dish was similarly delicious! The staff were lovely and attentitive and the decor in the restaurant made it extra special. I cannot compliment this place enough!

great meal

By Vladimir H |

Had curry with chicken (coconut milk, rice) and phad thai. Curry very spicy (spicy the right thai way :-), both meals amazing, nice staff and place.

Happy hour afternoon and evening

By Helen R |

Went for half priced cocktails and stayed for dinner. Tried most of the appetizers. All good but crab Rangoon was stand out. If you like spice(although it is not raging hot but nice heat) try the basil rice with seafood or chicken. If you prefer mild the pineapple rice with duck is terrific. Difficult to make a or choice here. Is it worth the very long two block walk from Times Square? Unless inclement weather yes!

Good value for a Good Lunch

By laurae |

We happen upon this small trendy bar/Restaurant on a Friday shortly after noon and decided to give it a try. I would have to say it was the best value for our stay in NYC for good Thai food. They had a fix price menu for Lunch, which included a drink, starter and main course and for 5 of us we were able to eat there for under 50. The food was very good and cooked to order based on our preference of spices. Looks like in the evening they probably are more of a bar scene than restaurant, but that is only what I can tell from the extensive collection of liquor at the bar. when we visit NYC again, will look up @Nine again and go again.

Excellent experience

By Yvonne A |

Excellent food all around. We had the shrimp appetizer and calamari as well. Both were delicious. Drunken noodles and pad Thai were also really great!!!

Brilliant

By LH |

Absolutely an amazing restaurant we found this on line and enjoyed it so much we tried to go back on the Friday after thanksgiving but unfortunately it was closed will definitely visit again when in New York

As Thai as it gets!

By Jan |

One of the best thai dishes we have eaten outside Thailand. The Pad Thai is heavy on the fish sauce so be prepareed. Friendly atmosphere and service, as one should expect. Genuinely a great experience!

@9 is a Lovely Little Thai Fusion Restaurant

We were strolling up 9th looking for an interesting place for dinner and right after looking at the interesting choices on the menu, the table for two right by the window opened up. We asked, and sure enough, were able to be seated right away. We started with the crispy spring rolls and the @9 Dumplings. Both were excellent, though the dumplings definitely looked different than expected. I had the Pad Thai with Chicken - it was wonderful. My preference for Pad Thai is more rich with only a little bit of tanginess and this was great. It even had different sized noodles for a slightly different texture in each bite. Didn't think I could eat it all, but the bowl was done by the end. My wife had the Shrimp Massaman Avocado and she really enjoyed it. It says mild spicy, but for us, it seemed a little more spicier than mild. Nonetheless, it was still really good. The funky decor with the cool bowls and dishes combined with the quick and friendly service made this a great dinner out.

Gorgeous food and great prices

By SJ |

Fed up of paying Times Square prices we thought we’d walk the other way and WOW what a find. Gorgeous food, quick and friendly service, and lovely decor. I couldn’t have asked for more! Chicken satay and spring roll starters - fantastic presentation and absolutely yummy. Thai red curry and stick rice, spicy basil rice for OH - double yummy! A beer each and all for the bargain price of -$52. Money well spent.

Excellent food.

The resturant itself is a little dark and dingy but the food was excellent. The place lacks atmosphere and the waitress was detached and miserable.

the Best Thai restaurant on 9th avenue

By Kevin S |

This place is so elegant and chic for Chic people who loves beat music. The food was so yummy and fresh. The service was great. i can give them 10/10. I don't know why some comment wrote something very bad because they wanted to use coupons for discount. By the way I really love this place and i will be back.

Excellent food, service and environment

By Mdh1000 |

This is a stylish restaurant which serves superb Thai food at very reasonable prices. The service was excellent and we had a very enjoyable time here. We would highly recommend going there.

A great find in Hell's Kitchen.

By WorkingMyBucketList |

Checking out the many restaurants on 9th avenue before a show, we were attracted to the reasonable prices and almost full restaurant and went for it. Yes it's small and can be noisy but the food was very good, service was appropriately attentive and prices were great especially for Manhattan. Our appetizer choices were the Fantastic Shrimp Rolls and Crab Rangoon and both were very good. Our entrees were Spicy Thai Fried Rice, Pad See Eiw and they too were very good. My only regret is that it's so far from homebut it's a definite go to for future visits to NYC,

Awesome Thai food!

We had an amazing meal at 9 at Nine, 9th Ave. Great food, great service. Pad Thai and chicken panang, calamari and spring rolls. All amazing presentation and flavour explosion!

Really good ThaiFood👍

By Karin L |

We just had great shrimp rolls, Penang Curry and Paid Thai for dinner. Some more spice at the Paid Thai would have made it even better... but I guess you can just ask to have it with some more spices.

Fantastic

Chose this restaurant as was close to where we were staying and the reviews. Walking past in the day I was a little dubious from the outside but when we turned up at night it was really busy and we were shown to our table immediately. The food was just amazing and so fresh, lots of choice including gluten free and I had the most amazing salmon cooked in foil. The bill, food & service was spot on.

Best Thai in Hell Kitchen Neighborhood

By Juan Pablo |

I have loved Thai food since I began visiting this restaurant on Ninth Avenue in Midtown West. There are many Thai restaurants in this area; so, I started trying all of them until I found this one. They have the best Thai food ever! I work nearby so most of the time I order Thai food and they deliver it to my workplace on time. My favorite dish is pad Thai, but sometimes I order the salmon with rice and vegetables. My colleagues at work know that I know that I enjoy this restaurant so much that now they are ordering from them, also. I was also surprised with their customer service. The other day I called and I gave them my address and they remembered my name. I totally recommend this restaurant if you're interested in eating some very good Thai food.

A Real Find: Wonderful Food, Great Drinks

By Musician3523 |

We actually discovered At 9 last September when I noticed that they were advertising $6 Martinis. With my Martini, which was made to order and excellent, I discovered a creative and also reasonably priced menu of Thai food with many appetizers to have with the drinks as well as a full menu of larger entrees. It is a small restaurant and bar with a distinctive atmosphere and friendly service so we sought it out again this summer and found it equally good. Beautifully modern and unpretentious, with reasonable prices. What can be better that that? Try the Crab Rangoon with your Classic Martini!

Hidden Gem near Times Square

Although At Nine is small is size, it delivers big on flavor and taste! I found this place when searching for restaurants not far from our hotel. It looked interesting with a good selection of foods at reasonable prices. We made a reservation for dinner with a small group of friends and every single appetizer and entree was incredibly delicious! This will definitely be on my list to visit again when in NYC!

Lunch special is Great

I work around here.. so I can tell you Hell's Kitchen... everything is going to cost you.. You get appetizer, entrée, and a Drink...for $10.000. Not bad for the prices in this Area...

Awesome Thai Food within walking distance from Time Square area

By Kalyan Peri |

We were looking for a Thai place near our hotel within the Time Square area and found this place through TripAdvisor. As the name suggests this restaurant is right on the 9th avenue between 42nd and 43rd streets. We went there on the Sunday evening before the Memorial day. This is a small place but the ambiance is really cool We definitely enjoyed. We had to wait for about 15 minutes but in hindsight it was worth the wait. We ordered the dumplings and puffs as the starter and they were truly amazing. We followed the starters with a couple of entrees and those were also equally amazing. Vegan friendly as well. They have a cool bar and seem to offer cocktails at $ 6.0 All in all: Amazing food & vibrant ambiance; don't miss it if you are in the Time Square area; Very strongly recommended!

excellent lunch!

By ianshamshey |

I stopped by for the lunch special recently and it was already too late. I went again yesterday and was seated immediately in their cool interior. It is not a big place but very comfortable. I got the lunch special which runs M-F 11a-4p and on the weekends from 12p-4p. You have your choice of starters-I got the spring rolls which came in a little pot, very tasty but there were only 2. For my main course I ordered the spicy pad kee mao-[drunken noodles] with shrimp which came in a larger pot. I really like this dish and it was very good. The total cost for lunch was $10.59 + tax. The restroom facilities were clean and well maintained. I would recommend and return especially for the lunch special.

Thai One on Here

By tootall88 |

While having a pre-dinner cocktail in a bar/cabaret one evening in New York we mentioned to the bartender we were looking for a good Thai restaurant. She went over to a regular and he recommended (At) @Nine on 9th Ave, so we went looking. Glad we found it because it serves the best Thai food we have had in along time since out trip to Thailand. Staff very pleasant and accommodating, but the food, delicious. Started with Thai spring rolls, crispy and fresh. Then on to Tom Yum soup which I could have had many more bowls full, absolutely "yummy". We both ordered Pad Thai, my wife chicken and I shrimp. Both meals were fresh, delicious and plentiful, all at a very reasonable cost. Too full for dessert we made our way to Times Square to walk off the full feeling. Would go back again.

Thai food fever!

By NoraExplorer |

Having a big appetite in a small place is the way to go. If you walk in to a place with no appetite, you're on the wrong side of history. You need to be hungry! My friend and I came here for dinner to try their recipes. We ordered some vegetable dumplings to start. Then I ordered Pad Kee Mao and she ordered Panang Curry with brown rice. My Pad Kee Mao was quite good, a little on the sweet side. In case you don't know what Pad Kee Mao is, it's a flat noodle and I find this noodle tastier than Pad Thai. Then she ordered another type of dish, green curry. This is another famous dish to get at any Thai restaurants if you happen to like a flavorful watery type of curry. The taste was good. The waiter was very good too. Overall was very good. Food taste is on the sweet side. I thought the sweet taste could be taken off a level or two. Nice place with a clean environment. It's a small place with nice dim colorful lights too. They even have some mirrors for you to play mirror mirror on the wall!

Good surprise

By nicolasricchini |

Surprisingly very tasty and good food. Price is accessible and staff is nice! Music is very loud though so it's more a place to have a meal with friends rather than a romantic dinner.

Gorgeous food, reasonably priced wine

By Roxychick46 |

Came here on a long weekend to New York. Situation on 9th not far from Times Square. Food and service excellent - cheapest restaurant for wine we found - a nice Pinot noir called 7 @$32 a bottle. We ordered 4 different main courses, all were excellent. Picture is green curry. Note you can’t book. We got there about 6.45pm on a Saturday night & waited 5 minutes for a table for 4.

A little bit of Thailand in the Big Apple

By Sean T |

Just had a fantastic meal here. Great selection of Thai dishes. Can thoroughly recommend the Thai Green Chicken Curry (generous portion) and the sweet and sour flaming chicken dish. Great food, service in a place that has atmosphere. If you like Thai food, this is the place for you. Sensible prices make this great value as well.

Must visit!

By Dries_BE137 |

Started with soup, good & spicy. After that we had the roasted duck with pad thai, was delicious for normal price. Good service to.

Authentic Thai food

By usermrt840 |

Authentic Thai food. Good value food and drink. Small restaurant but nice and friendly. Great if you want decent food close to Times Square but slightly away from the hustle and bustle of Times Square.

Tiny but amazing!

By Allison Smiley |

You will only be disappointed if you don't get a seat! I'm not used to how tiny the restaurants are in NYC but it makes for a super fun atmosphere and the food was delicious!! If you are in the mood for some Asian inspired food I highly recommend it!

Great Place to Eat with Lunch Specials

By tjwilson |

Thai food in an intimate space that seats less than 50 patrons. We both chose the lunch special which includes an appetizer/salad, main course of chicken or pork and a Thai iced coffee or tea or sparkling water for a very reasonable cost. We were in and out in less than 30 minutes at noon.

Dark...

By 808JTW |

Very quirky décor but a little bit dark for a restaurant. Starters of calamari and chicken satay were good. Main courses of chicken pad ka-prow and beef red curry were also good - hot and spicy but also fresh and zingy. Steamed veg was a bit bland. Service was rushed towards the end of the meal when they were clearly trying to free up tables.

Excellent

Friendly service, reasonable price, good location, very attentive staff. Varied menu, accommodating for vegetarians

First time trying Thai food. Everyone's food was good. It all came out at different times. Meal was warm, not hot. Not sure whether that is how Thai is served. Service was good. Bathroom was very clean.

Top class Thai Food in hip ambience

By Ravi R |

One of the best That food restaurants. I was looking for something reasonably priced, not too far from where we are staying (40th and 9th). After checking few reviews, we decided to walk there. Honestly, it's not all that great from outside. But once you get in everything was just great. Drinks/food is high quality and very tasty. Nest time I am in New York, I am making a trip there. Definitely recommend.

Great new thai

By Consultantgal |

@Nine is a fun new Thai restaurant in Hell’s Kitchen. When we ate there they were so new that neither their health inspection nor liquor license was complete; so it is very new. We ordered the assorted puffs and each had one of their signature noodle soups. The puffs were very good and there is something about the taro puff that will make it addictive – so good I’ll have to go back for more. The soups were good. The broth was well done and the house-made noodles were good.

Spicy and delicious Thai food

By PCBiz212 |

Had a crew of 8 people join me for authentic Thai takeout (I picked up) lunch today at my favorite spot called @Nine, on 9th Avenue between 42nd and 43rd. It was rainy outside and the day was dragging along, but the food has spiced up our afternoon and allowed everyone to get back on track. I loved my Panang curry with chicken as did one of my team members. The curry puffs were delish. One of the crew really dug into the Kee Mao with veggies and tofu. The red curry with chicken kept another totally focused. No one said a word as they enjoyed their fried rice with chicken and shrimps. The pineapple fried rice with beef kept my big dude Manny silenced until it was gone. Just great food, fresh appetizers and great Thai iced teas and coffees. Thanks to the staff and I will always remember the hard work that they family has invested ($$$ and sweat) into this lovely restaurant.

Excellent Appetizers and Drinks

By TrailBlazer694571 |

Great location and really good appetizers and drinks. I got the ragoons and long Island iced tea and red curry as my entree.

Don't be fooled by the decor !!

By DavidRockwell |

I ordered the chicken sate ... absolutely FLAVORLESS chicken ... even the peanut sauce was mediocre!! Then stupidly tried another chicken dish ... and again FLAVORLESS chicken ... just awful!

OMG awesome food, amazing price and great ambience

By jimjimjim2015 |

Walk four or five blocks from Times Square (or where ever) to Hell's Kitchen for a dining experience you won't forget. Tom Kha soup is the best ever (five dollars). We had the spicy basil fried rice and Massaman curry, eleven and fourteen dollars if I remember correctly. Balanced, flavorful, wonderful. Service is efficient (and quiet). It's a small restaurant (perhaps 30 -35 seats) so there will be some bustle but turnover is quick thanks to food you want to eat and good service.

BEST THAI IN TOWN

By theresa b |

BEST THAI FOOD EVER!!! I am half Thai and it's so hard to find a place that taste like my moms cooking or better! The ambiance was perfect and low key. The prices was great! I had 2 martininis and an entree for $24.00 dollars. For NYC that was great pricing! Service was amazing too!

Unexpectedly delicious

By shannon s |

I came here to meet with a friend who ended up cancelling. It was mid-day when I went, so I did not experience the blue lighting. Overall, it's very clean, a little small, but overall trendy. I tried the lychee martini and the softshell crab. Both were very good. The drinks are strong and the food flavorful, a great experience overall.

Best Thai food!

By Richard P |

We found At Nine Restaurant while staying in Manhattan for weekend getaway with my wife. Felt like Oriental food but didn't want another crowded touristy restaurant. We did a search and the restaurant was near the hotel and decided to give it a shot. One of the best decisions of the weekend! The food was amazing and really liked the eclectic decor. We had the Kanom Jeep Chicken Dumplings appetizers and I had Pad See Eiw for my main course which were both delicious! My wife had the Pad Ka-Prow which said was the best she ever had. The place was small but the food worth it especially if you're in the mood for some Thai food!

Very nice

By THEFORK123 |

When visiting New York for 5 days this was not far from our hotel and amongst nice bars to visit afterwards. The food was very tasty and refreshing, lovely drinks and the staff also were friendly and helpful. This was also the cheapest place we went whilst we were in New York which was a bonus.

Great food great service

I mentioned you had to sort better your tables, of course they never care it is NYC after all! Really great Thai food go to YUM YUM has 3 location nearby. Do not go in the middle one that has close door unless you want waitress mistaken and draw water on your feet, yeah!! The 2 other on each corners are great servers and excellent food!..

$6 margaritas, cosmos, margaritas all night

By Melanie T |

I've had @Nine on my bookmarks list for a while, so when my boyfriend and I were in the area one night, and were looking for a Thai place, I suggested this one. They had great reviews + $6 martinis all night. We made our way over there at around 6:30 on a Thursday and we nabbed one of the last tables. The place is small, but there never seemed to be a wait. For drinks, if you are going with the $6 cocktails, you have a choice of a cosmo, margaritas (regular or strawberry), or martinis (apple, pineapple, lychee, strawberry, pomegranate). These are only okay - they're definitely on the sweeter side, but not disgustingly so. I had the cosmo and the pomegranate martini, which is basically just a sweeter version of the cosmo. For my entree, I went with what I normally order at most Thai restaurants - Pad Kee Mao (drunken noodles), less spicy. This was really good. The noodles were the perfect consistency, the spice level was just right. The only thing is - it's pretty saucy so when you get to the bottom of the bowl, the last few bites are salty. My boyfriend had the lava chicken, which neither of us enjoyed. They poured some liquid over it to light it on fire for presentation purposes, but that's the only thing that was impressive about it. It's really just some chicken smothered with Thai sweet chili sauce from a jar. Stick to the classic noodle dishes and maybe a beer, and you'll have a great experience.

Do not miss this!

Absolutely delicious chicken massaman curry and chicken pad Thai. Very reasonable price and lovely service. 5* from us.

you people made my day

By Sanjay M |

few days back We visited this restaurant on top (at nine restaurant ) you people made my day not just bcz of food but service was awesome I must say thank you guys special thank to Sandip to make it possible

Happy Hour fun!

By turbotravelers |

I can't review the meals here, however, I can review the lovely Martini's they advertise outside the restaurant that caught our eye as we were walking by. The wait staff was very friendly and attentive, even though we weren't dining. Loved the Martini's and you can't beat the price - $6.oo for happy hour. In NYC - that's almost unheard of. I will say that the entrees we did see coming to other tables did look very good.

Good Thai Food

By PFSwan |

Nice hole in the wall Thai bar. Didn't sample the drinks, but the food was very good. Portions were ample and service was fast. Would go back to try another dish.
