My wife and I had an early dinner before a show. The place was cozy and classic 60’s Park Avenue apartment decor. I like the individual scallop type seats. A half bottle Chardonnay was paired well with the lobster bisque and Mediterranean platter. Our main dishes of Chilean sea bass and grilled salmon were delicious. Top of the meal with the BG the signature dessert and espresso. The BG offers great views of Central Park. As you exit the elevator there are historical photos of the famous people who have been at the store. Last entry is at 7pm and the place closes at 8pm together with the store. Great for a mid week date!

Excellent option, but above average price. Cozy atmosphere in front of Central Park. Service was very good. However, when asking for the bill and paying by card, we were forced to go almost close to the kitchen to go through their system. They didn't have a POS machine.

BG is the 7th floor restaurant of the truly wonderful, home of the last genuinely- upscale-yet-accessable-to-the-general-public "department store" of dependably unique fashions. So let me start with all of the positives: The food is delicious and handsomely presented. The service impeccable - attentive by not cloying. The prices are fair for the quality and quantity (non-scrimp) of the menu. The milieu is attractive with lovely views of Central Park through a wall of windows. The seating is comfortable. What's the problem? THE NOISE LEVEL!! If *any* of this shop's selling floors were as cacophonous as its restaurant, the customers would have fled long since! At a small table for two in an inconspicuous corner, my lunch-mate and I had to (literally) shout at each other to be heard. Bottom line? If you're dining alone with your book and can shut out the tumult with your powers of concentration...OR...if you're popping in for a quick in-n-out with no intent to linger pacifically...BG *may* have something to offer you. As for me, Quoth the Raven....

Daniel, our waiter, really made our luncheon experience here so wonderful. He was very attentive and the service was impeccable. He even offered to take some great pictures of our group. Thank you, Daniel and the staff at BG!

I don’t typically like to eat at the cafe in a department store- but this was amazing. There was a lovely view of Central Park, and the ambiance was quaint and beautiful- not what you would expect in a department store. My husband and I both had the lobster pasta and did not leave a bite. The BG dessert was the best I had in New York. I really enjoyed it and would come again!

And the perfect lunch spot always, service is incredible and the staff really take care of you like royalty - on my recent visit it seems like the kitchen had stepped up even more, it's always great but this time with an extra kick!! It's very special and festive over the holiday season! Good to go if you are solo out and doing your shopping or with friends! Share the lobster Mac&Cheese if you want to be a little decadent:)! Book in advance so you have a table!!

We booked several weeks in advance and requested and received a beautiful table overlooking Central Park. A very busy and lively restaurant, the service was impeccable, the champagne perfectly chilled and the food divine. An enjoyable long lunch.

I had dinner, solo, while in NY on business. I love this place, with it’s lovely view of Central Park, and comfortable decor, and fabulous food. The Lobster Salad is amazing! It does not feel like you are “in a department store”......once you step inside you are transported to a wonderful experience. A must on any visit to NY, alone, with friends, business, or special occasion!

BG This has become our new favorite department store restaurant. A lovely long and narrow restaurant on the 7th floor of Bergdorf Goodman. Perched above the perimeter of Central Park, the views are delightful. The ambiance is upscale yet casual. The service was competent. While the ambiance is the draw, the food was delicious. We both ordered the special, which was perfectly cooked, pan seared Halibut with vegetables. The sauce was divine and the fish was fresh and incredibly well executed and plated. We selected wine from their well curated wine list. We ended the meal with well made almond milk cappuccinos. BG’s is a civilized and utterly pleasant dining experience. We can’t wait to return.

We just had drinks at the bar with an amazing view but the food looked delicious so will definitely book for lunch next time too. Our barman was brilliant, attentive, funny and charming.

Aside from this place being an amazing store, the top floor restaurant offers some of the best views of NYC. Great atmosphere and service, I ordered a wonderful chocolate mousse dessert and a great cup of black tea which is hard to come by in NYC.

I have eaten at BG restaurant numerous times, so my review reflects multiple visits. In a word, every experience there has been exquisite. The staff is uniformly attentive, friendly, and efficient despite often being quite busy. Unlike some other restaurants, they seem to actually enjoy being there, which the customer senses immediately. The vibe in the restaurant is classy, but at the same time fun. It's also hard to beat the setting with its iconic views of Central Park. It's a challenge to pick a favorite dish since there are so many. Special mention is made of the burrata, the ahi tuna and salmon poke, and virtually every seafood dish I've had there. The wine list is well curated, and desserts are worth the splurge. I'd also like to call out Goodman's, the smaller restaurant at the Men's Store across the street. The spot is so comfortable and handsomely decorated, with a full bar and a variety of very tasty food choices. It's a great place to unwind with a good glass of wine, cocktail, and smaller meal in a clubby atmosphere.

We had planned a special weekend away with the ladies of the family to celebrate our mother's 70th birthday. We reserved a table over the phone (since it was a group larger than 4 we couldn't do it on OpenTable) and we requested a table overlooking Central Park and we were not disappointed. Due to issues with the subway we showed up 45 min late. I had called the restaurant when we finally left the subway and explained the situation- the staff were very courteous, accommodating and understanding and held the table for us. Our lunch was unforgettable- between the decadent lobster mac and cheese, the gnocchi, the bursting crab cake and the unforgettable beet salad- we found something for everyone. We loved the variety of breads in the bread basket and the prosecco was on point! It was a special meal and well worth all the $$$$$.

The cafe on the 7th floor is an incredible experience for anyone visiting NY. We got the high tea Royale and all the food was so delicious and fresh and so beautifully presented. The service is amazing and overlooking Central Park was lovely. Definitely try to book in advance as you will struggle to be seated on a busy day.

Anticpated a more fine dining experience and this was not at all. Terrible service, wine by the glass is in a tiny flute. Food was ok, but such a let down. It wasn't even that busy plus there were a few hetero couples in the bar excessively involved in PDA, like tongues down each others throat. I'm good with showing love but this was on the verge of call girl and john. Not a good experince. We left after about 30 mins. Will try again someday but disappointed.

1st visit to NYC and had afternoon tea here on Sunday afternoon. We had pre booked which is essential. Really great afternoon tea. Good selection of sandwiches and pastries. Great service too....the lady who managed our table was really nice and helpful. Not cheap but a great experience. Would definitely recommend

After looking at their wonderful windows it's an amazing paradise for shoppers to come and enjoy! There are so many departments and sections!! All the staff are super friendly and know about all the stock.

My wife and I popped in here for lunch one day during our vacation. She had a salad, which was very good. I had the cauliflower steak (I am not a vegetarian, but I wanted something healthy), and this was OUTSTANDING. The waitress was excellent. The complementary rolls were inedible, though (hard, crumbly, and flavorless). The price was what you'd expect at BG. Would we return? For the cauliflower, yes.

Beautiful, Elegant Gem worthy of Five Star Accolades. My experience for lunch with a friend here was awesomely impressive. If I lived in NYC I would make it a point to come here for lunch as often as possible. They offer a very nice selection of fine dining options in a elegant setting with top notch service. The restaurant is beautifully appointed with a great view of Army Plaza and South Central Park. Books quickly. Reservations are a must. Highly Recommended!

I made a reservation the day before and was greeted with a window seat! Beautiful views from the 7th floor at Bergdorf’s. We started with a bottle of wine. I had the seafood gnocchi, my daughter had the black truffle gnocchi special- with the truffles shaved at table side, and her boyfriend had the lobster Napoleon. All were delicious! Highly recommend the ricotta gnocchi as it is homemade, light, and wonderful. For dessert we shared the BG special. It’s a bit pricey for lunch, but the service is great and you can’t beat the view.

Tired from shopping we needed some food and a nice glass of wine and happened upon this little cafe we didn't realize was in the department store. What a delightful surprise this was. We were seated right away, even though it was bustling with patrons. Our waiter was excellent taking our orders and holding them until the third in our party arrived later, but pouring our wine for us while we waited, along with a basket of delicious assorted breads. Once our food came, it was all fresh, prettily presented and delicious. The tuna tartare in particular, is wonderful. Love this little gem and recommend it as a respite while shopping in this part of Manhattan.

Had the most delicious lunch here and lucky enough to get a table with a view over Central Park. Had their famous devilled eggs to start followed by lobster mac and cheese. Both tasted so good. The mac & cheese was packed with large pieces of lobster, decadent and rich. We shared the BG desert again delicious. A lovely experience with great service.

My friend and I are avid afternoon tea fans and have had many in London/ UK so booked afternoon tea here as a special treat on our visit to NYC. The views over Central Park is special. The service is very good. However, it is an “ok” afternoon tea. The portion sizes aren’t very American sized or average size (small teeny sandwiches) and the bread tasted a little dry (dare I say stale?). The pastries bite sized and the scones a little dull. It would be nicer to have more of a something than little bits of mini things. The puff was pointless, the deviled eggs tasteless, the salmon thingy delicious. It was enough, but sadly not impressive. And for the $ it was a 6/ 10. The champagne was delicious though.

Delicious HIGH TEA! Tiny sandwiches, macaroons, scones etc....all REALLY tasty. Cons is that is was VERY NOISY and crowded. Tables right next to each other. The view was nice overlooking the park, but not much to see while you are eating.

I attended afternoon tea after a long day of shopping which was fantastic. You can't beat the views of Central Park and when you make reservations I would suggest specifically stating that you would ideally like a table next to the window. Can't wait to enjoy afternoon tea again at Bergdorf's during my next visit to the city.

A must place to chat with friends before or after you shop. A must see is the hallway photos of famous people such as Jackie O and JFK. One photo LBJ and leaning forward and smiling obviously smitten with Jackie. The food is an excellent and the wait staff are attentive.

My wife and I stopped in for lunch and had the lobster bisque with profiteroles for dessert. We found the food and ambience to be outstanding. Our experience concluded with a signed menu.

This is a very nice and cute place. Either a break between shopping or a special occasion. The views are beautiful, service good and food great.

This is one of my go to restaurants for lunch when I am in New York. The lobster salad is fantastic. My husband had the. Roast chicken which was delicious. The wines by the glass are pricey, but worth it. The wait staff is the best.

We had lunch at the BG Restaurant on the 7th floor of the Bergdorf Goodman store on Saturday. We made reservations a couple of weeks in advance. The restaurant is on the small side. As you would expect, people are pretty well dressed! I had a 16 oz German beer, priced at $11. My entree was a Croque Mousieur, which is a knife and fork sandwich served hot. It came with a green salad. It ran about $29. My wife had the truffled chicken salad sandwich. It ran about $29. Both were very good choices. Service was excellent and friendly. The people watching was great. We had a spectacular view over Central Park.

Just so crowded. I know it's December but I felt they could have worked on their flow a little bit. Maybe signs of where to go? LIke this line for bar, this line for food, this line for reservations. The line was every which way and no one from their staff was helping people understand what was what. Some were in line for restroom but thought they were in line for food - then people get mad at one another and it's akward. The staff could have simplified or made announcements or something. I heard many people say they had never seen it this crowded. Food was good, service good, but I thought quite overpriced. They also mandate that each person in the group HAS to get a MAIN entree (cheapest is $32) - so no plate sharing. I understand this but it's worth sharing. If I come to NYC, I will not be back. It was a one and done for me. There are other places to try.

Wonderful lunch and tea room. The Gotham salad and the chicken salad delicious. If you are lucky to be seated by a window you are afforded beautiful views of Central Park. I will definitely come back next time I am in NYC.

Afternoon tea with friends was great. The nuit d’ete tea was great as was everything else served. Some table favorites were the truffle chicken salad sandwich, the deviled eggs and the caviar puffs. Service was amazing. Definitely recommend!

Amazing place in the 7th floor of an amazing restaurant overlooking Central Park. Bergdorf Goodman is a staple in New York and eating at their restaurant BG is a real treat. While here I discovered the absolute best and most amazing ice cream I’ve ever eaten. I’ve always been partial to run raisin but this is my new favorite. I’ll be back for this ice cream.

Great meal! Asa and Brooke were amazing and made us feel like family! It is tiny but incredible food and drinks of every kind!

My wife and I had a great lunch here. Charming and convivial with views of the Plaza Hotel and Central Park. Solicitous wait staff. Excellent menu. The perfect place for lunch or tea after the rigors of shopping the sales.

Brilliant range, up and coming designers as well as smaller luxury brands in addition to the big names. A far cry from the poor state of affairs in the Plaza Hotel opposite.....

Anytime at Bergdorf's is a great time, add lunch there and it's a perfect NYC outing. BG's is fun. A great way to spend the afternoon. We had lunch after a visit to The Met and a stroll through Central Park. The service was a tad slow when we first sat down but then it quickly caught up. Attentive and friendly our wait staff was lovely. The lunch was decent, but really this restaurant is more about the atmosphere. Ladies who lunch!! Great place to people watch and the views are spectacular. Take your friends you will have a blast.

We were so excited for this lunch. Heard great things. First of all it's so noisy and crowded . Not relaxing at all. The lobster salad was just ok. Very very small. More like an round avocado appetizer with a drop of lobster. The Gotham salad was ok. Not the"amazing salad" that I read about. There are so many great places to eat in NYC and this was not one of them. There were very fashionable ladies dining so we did enjoy the scenery but that's about it.

Great shopping experience. Fashion designer clothing. A real luxury department store. The service is wonderful. I always enjoy shopping at Bergdorf Goodman

My wife and I had lunch twice this week at this place - visiting the uk it is great to people watch and see the up tight New York clientele worry about things that really don’t matter ! The food is great and the service is just excellent - and as a tourist it is great entertainment!

7th floor BG Restaurant offers daily High Tea from 2:30 to 5. It’s a three tier tray of finger sandwiches, scones and jam plus assorted desserts for $49. Make a reservation for a seat with a view. A little crowded; not for the kids. Then stroll through the home decor section on that floor. It’s October and the Christmas shop was ready. Recommended for ladies who lunch and couples romantic spot.

We are always looking for a great brunch spot in midtown - I just cannot find a better option than BG, the stylish restaurant on the seventh floor of Bergdorf Goodman. The menu never disappoints: Short Rib Benedict, Mimosa, Curried Cauliflower soup - I loved every part of this meal. Service is very good. It's a sophisticated - but not stuffy - place and the mood is light - I'm glad the waiters have a bit of fun. The views of Central Park are wonderful if you get seated by a window. I love to do a bit of shopping at Bergdorf Goodman on the way in or on the way out. Prices are high.

We hadn't planned to eat here but had an early table booked for dinner at Daniel and just happened to be passing the restaurant when it opened at 1130. What a wonderful surprise it was. The restaurant overlooks Central Park, the service was great, the food very good (the Asian chicken salad was excellent) and the wine list very reasonable. My wife and I returned for lunch three days later and had an equally enjoyable experience. I'd recommend booking ahead as it does get very busy. Also, it can get quite noisy so an early table will give you more space and time to speak before the volume increases.

I'm spilling it. Right here, I'm spilling the dirty little secret that is Bergdorf Goodman Restaurant. IT IS NOT WORTH RIDING TO THE 7TH FLOOR. I'd LOVE to know what these 5-Star raters are eating up there, because I know I didn't get a bite of it! We reserved for tea and arrived (and were seated) promptly. We were served by Eric, a nice enough young man. We chose our tea and were then served the tea and a triple layer tray of finger food. The sandwiches were stale and unsavory and I can't say anything nice about the rest, so I'll say nothing at all. Eric made a nice gesture in bringing my friend a complimentary cookie platter with a candle on it for his birthday. Thus, a star is born. Whatever I hoped to experience from the days of Jackie O. and friends lunching together is gone today. The same furnishings and carpet are still there (dirty, stained and in bad need of updating), but gone are the days of high society ladies brunching and lunching. They've been replaced by the who WANTS to be who of New York and by hopeful tourists like me just hoping to take a peek into the "big" girls club. If you are part of the first group, you can have my window seat from here until eternity. It's all yours. But, if you are a part of the latter crowd, save your money and save yourself a trip. It isn't worth the hype.

After a long walk in Central Park, my son and I were wanting something cool so we stopped in Bergdorf Goodman to see what restaurant they had in the store. We went down to the bottom floor where cosmetics were and tucked in the back corner was Palette. Palette is a funky diner with pink glittered booth seating and diner chairs. The art work on the wall is fun and sparkly. We were only going to get ice cream but when we saw the menu, we decided to eat. My son got a lobster club sandwich, it was HUGE. Very delicious. I had pea soup and chicken salad sandwich combo which also came with a salad. I usually skip the mixed green salads but the dressing was so good. The presentation on the plates was even aesthetically pleasing. We had a very attentive server, she was always checking on us, wish I remembered her name. I highly recommend stopping in for a casual meal at Palette...and then perusing the perfume counters afterward ;)

We recently had afternoon tea at BG. We had a 2:30 reservation, we checked in around 2:20 and could see they were very busy. We really didn’t mind and didn’t even complain when the host staff told we would have to wait a while before we were seated. Instead of being a nice and apologetic, the man and woman at the front were pretty rude. They told us we were in their way (which we would have moved earlier if they had just let us known where we needed to wait). They were visibly overwhelmed and came across as really snooty and passive aggressive. We almost left but we had made reservations over a month earlier so we didn’t want to miss out. Our waitress however made up for EVERYTHING. We didn’t say anything about the host staff’s behavior, she was just an incredible server and person! She was funny, helpful and made our experience awesome. The sandwiches, scones and desserts were great and we loved the tea. We really enjoyed ourselves. I am glad we did not let the rude hosts get to us. I would have given more stars, but for the cost of the whole thing (which is not cheap), I would have expected everyone to be as nice as the waitress.

. We took our 4 year old grandchild to lunch is this elegant restaurant recently. It was the perfect setting for great memory making. The staff gave us a wonderful window table with a perfect view of Central park. Our grandson loved the view of the sky scrapers, flags flying in the breeze and the carriages in the streets below. The adults had a delicious lunch and the kitchen accommodated a less adventurous palate with some of his favorites. After finishing our ice creams we crossed the circle for a tour of the Central Park Zoo. A perfect afternoon for all three of us.

As always full, good food, excellent service, expensive price Best is the convenience of in-store shopping I don't like that the kitchen is stuck to the bathroom

Love the place and love the attention. If you can get the macaroons, the truffles and the hot cocoa.

We made a reservation which is recommended because the room is smallish and popular. We were seated where I was lucky to have a seat looking out to Central Park. How better can it get than being served water in murano hand blown glasses. We enjoyed lovely chicken and short ribs. Service provides for a leisurely lunch. Service was exceptional. Seating is close so expect overhear secrets at the next table.

I’ve been dining at Bergdorf restaurant for over 30 years. today I walked in to have lunch and asked the hostess /maître d’ named Milla if I could sit by the window as it was available, she looked at me and said, are you having lunch? I said yes then she proceeded to wave her arm over to the direction of the chair and said well go ahead, I was on the phone with my husband, so I didn’t pay much mind until I sat down and had the wonderful bartender/server Nick take care of me and I realized how rude Milla had been to me, waving her arm instead of professionally seating me to the table. I had the new Barata with tomato and deviled eggs with a couple of glasses of Prosecco . I love this restaurant the servers are always fabulous, but for some reason they have really bad luck with hostesses they seem to always be rude and flippant . It was no different with Milla ! And unfortunately, with that, it loses a star.

Marvellous view over the Central Park - delicious food - a very nice waiter - nice wine and a really perfect ambient. Every time again

BG can be pricey but it’s a wonderful lunch spot to go to as a couple, with friends, or solo. The food is always superb and the service has been consistently good. I have visited on a periodic basis over the years, and it never lets me down as a fine go-to lunch experience.

Make a reservation so you won't have to wait endlessly. Service is attentive even though they are super busy. Food delicious. Enjoyed the Lobster Salad with dressing on the side....expensive and worth it.

Had a lovely lunch with my childhood friends, one of which traveled into city for the night. I forgot what a nice place this is to have lunch. The service is really old school and attentive, our waiter Luke was really nice. The ambiance is so relaxing there and the glasses on the table are hand blown murano glass with no two alike. Really gave the table a nice vibe. We all started with the asparagus soup which was tasty but the could be improved if they removed some of the strands before serving. It was like having a delicious soup and finding floss in it. One friend had the lobster salad, other friend the croque monsieur and I had the roasted cauliflower salad. I thought my cauliflower had too much oil on it which was disappointing as it looked delicious. Our waiter Luke exchanged it right away with a beet salad. All the salads were tasty. The amazing thing is that they didn’t charge us for either the cauliflower or beet salad without us even mentioning it. The manager just wanted us to be happy. We didn’t have dessert as the soup and salad were filling!

Hidden away on the 7th Floor of Bergdorf's this was a gem of a restaurant for lunch. Relaxed atmosphere, old school decor (if looking a little tired) and most of all a great view of Central Park. This may also be a good place to celeb spot at Sofia Vergara was at the next table. The service was fantastic and the chicken salad was perfect. The deviled eggs were a bit average but overall a great place. Would go back!

I’m rating this a 3 for several reasons. The food we had was delicious, the atmosphere is ok, decor ok, but nothing extremely instagramable unless you get a window seat The place is cramped. Some staff are impatient, even before we sat down they were asking us for our drink order. MY BIGGEST ISSUE is that we booked for afternoon tea, and I checked that we were coming for birthday celebration, I even said it in the notes. To my surprise, I saw several tables get their little birthday treat , yet we were not acknowledged. Idk if race played a part but whatever. My mom had the Afternoon tea Royale that comes with a glass of champagne, WHICH IS EXTREMELY LIGHT. I had asked for an a La carte menu so she ended up getting something from that menu as well. I think for $92 there should have been more sweets and sandwiches. I really wasn’t impressed with the afternoon tea. For our main course we had the Petit Filet of beef and the Gotham salad. All were good but they were small plates. It was an OK experience. All together our bill came to $219 including tax. When it came to tipping, I tipped the waiter who was most attentive and nice. Would I recommend, yes if you wanna take pics for insta, if you actually like afternoon tea, NO.

Excellent upscale restaurant / tea place. We had lobster salad and scallops. Both great. Dessert as well. This was only topped by the view on a beautiful snowed up Central Park view.

You would not know it from outside BG’s haut couture store at 5th & 58th in NYC but on 7th floor is their elegant up-market restaurant. It has salads & sandwiches, afternoon tea & Central Park views. Kitchen closes at 6.30pm but we were just in time to order melt-in-mouth lemon cheesecake. Nick at bar was great conversationalist- we can recommend asking for his personal gin or rum cocktails!

Three of us came for lunch. Everything was great except for our initial contact with one of the waiters. We had reservations and a table for two was reserved with a third chair on the side. The extra chair was styled differently than the other two comfortable padded chairs and was also unstable. My friend, who has back problems, requested a chair like the other two and the waiter refused. Finally, he brought another chair exactly like the one that was uncomfortable. My friend again asked for a chair like the ours and he replied that he would have to get permission from the manager. While he was gone looking for the manager, she went to a table with only one person and asked if she could take the extra chair. When the waiter came back without getting permission, he saw that we had obtained a padded chair on our own. He was furious. Fortunately, a different waiter was sent to wait on us, who was very welcoming and professional. I had the crab cake, which was the best one I have ever had and a glass of wine. Total bill was $69 before the tip. There were two women at the table next to us who were very friendly. So, we not only had a lovely meal, but chatted with some charming locals.

I have been looking for a good afternoon tea spot in the city, and I found a nice place with a great view. It is located inside the Bergdorf Goodman, on the 7th-floor. The inside was much bigger than I expected. With many windows lining up along the wall facing the Grand Army Plaza, it was nice and bright. And the view, oh my, it is awesome! We could see the Grand Army Plaza with its golden sculpture really well. And, we could see into the Central Park as well. The view would be even more fantastic once the trees become more green in Spring and Summer. For afternoon tea, all the food items are pre-selected, only thing we need to choose is what kind of tea we want to go with the afternoon tea. They had nice selection of tea, and they use loose tea leaves, not tea bags. The three-tier afternoon tea kind of looked small at first glance, compared to some other ones I’ve had from other places. But, it was actually a good portion, not too much, not too little. On the bottom tier, they had savory items and tea sandwiches. Second tier was scones, with jams and devonshire cream. They only had two scones, but nice big size. The top tier was filled with petite sweets. They looked really great! I could not wait to get my hands into these ones! Everything was really good, tasty and well prepared. We enjoyed them all very much. It was almost surprisingly good, since I didn't have high expectation for some reason. Our server was friendly, attentive, and most of all, funny! We always love it when we have a great server. It makes the experience extra fun. I would love to go back again for another afternoon tea, when the greens come back to the trees for even better view!

Luckily, we were able to reserve a table the day before Valentine’s Day. This was a first for the both of us. The restaurant is on the 7th floor of the BG building. The ambience is great for any type of gathering, but I’m sure there are much more romantic spots in NYC. However, we found it both charming and cozy. Our waiter was absolutely lovely. The manager was very engaging and took time out to make us feel very welcomed. My date really enjoyed the lamb. I ordered mock tail, lobster bisque and the salmon. I requested it well done, but it wasn’t. My soup and mock tail were great ( I don’t drink 😋). The veggies that accompanied my salmon were well cooked and very tasty, but sadly my salmon was not. Overall, it’s a great spot for a date, after work gathering or just simply dinner. I would definitely go back and hopefully they’ll get my salmon right the second time around. One last thing, if you’re into fashion this is a great spot. Before or after visiting the restaurant you can browse the high end fashion and accessories.

We had a wonderful meal with you in the plaza hotel and Central Park. The waiter Scott was amazing he let us through the menu and we enjoyed a delicious bottle of wine and a fantastic meal. I highly recommend

And we did not regretted!! We had no reservation and were just lucky enough to get a table for Lunch! The waiter was so so lovely and the atmosphere was superb and the food was delicious! The champagne too. We loved it a lot!! The best for spoilt people :))

BG is the perfect spot for brunch. It is located on the Seventh Floor of Bergdorf Goodman, the tony department store near The Plaza Hotel at the south end of Central Park. The BG wine list is nice - the food is nice. The décor is - as one might expect - stylish and comfortable. If you can score a Whispering Chair it is an awful lot of fun. I would like to sit here every day and sip champagne. Brunch for two is pretty expensive, but c'mon: this restaurant in this location is going to come at a price. The waiters have a lively sense of humor and they don't take the place too seriously - I like a waiter with a lighthearted attitude. Sometimes the Bergdorf Goodman staff downstairs can get a little serious. Make that a lot serious. Is Bergdorf Goodman the real world? Not even close. But I did run into one smiling young person who worked in one of the departments on the Seventh Floor - that was refreshing. I love wandering around the store - especially during the holidays - before and after the meal. Gorgeous. Be sure to check-out the big windows on the street, too - they are fabulous.

This place overlooks Central Park, and is so sophisticated and pretty! Went for Tea, which they offer a menu of tea, champagne, and small sandwiches. Worth a trip for afternoon tea. Pricey, but if you want an experience worth the trip!

We have visited this restaurant several times over the years and NEVER been disappointed. The food quality is of a very high standard and the service is excellent. If you’re lucky enough to have a table facing Central Park, you are really in business! Recommended

I came here to embrace the upper echelon of New York. It was pleasant to chat to the bar staff and other guests near by. I thoroughly enjoyed my drink and cake. I wouldn’t frequent this place regularly but as a visitor it was nice to take a moment and enjoy what NYC has to offer rather than being a constant tourist.

Stopped in for a delicious lunch before an afternoon of shopping. The restaurant is so iconic NY it's out of a movie. I'm a born and raised NY'er but this was my first time having lunch at BG. The wait staff was so nice, the food and wine was delicious and even the breadbasket was hard to resist. It's a must do treat to stop it!

It was lovely. The staff was wonderful and it was reasonably priced. I loved the spread of tea sandwiches, macarons and red velvet cupcakes. Checked off my bucket list.

Best lunch spot while shopping at BG.It gets booked quickly. If you arrive before noon, grab a spot in the front room which is not reserved. The setting is stunning. The menu has a very nice selection for lunch, we found the food to be delicious. The staff, simply the best, warm & welcoming.

As usual, BG Bergdorf Goodman rose to the occasion and provided an outstanding afternoon tea experience. Obtaining reservation on Open Table was easy and quick. Host and waitstaff are highly professional, courteous, competent and timely. Fresh and delicious assortment of tea sandwiches, canapes, spicy devilled egg, scone, orange marmalade, Devonshire cream, strawberry preserves, and rich, tiny desserts, all on two-tiered tea stand. Plenty of English Breakfast tea for second cup with honey and fresh lemon, e.g., my favorite. Have been many times and will return often.

Had the most incredible lunch. Excellent staff . A great menu with unmissable scallops. The Gnocchi was delicious too as was the Tuna tartare. The BG dessert was decadent and a mouthful of flavours. I thoroughly enjoyed the service which was very attentive. Would come back again!!

I love the cafe at Bergdorf Goodman. After shopping there is a treat that many take advantage of! I love the menu and wine selections.

Great food, wine, service, view and atmosphere. We especially enjoyed the people watching. We made a reservation weeks in advance so it was a quick wait for us.

My husband and I were in NYC for a week to celebrate our wedding anniversary. After a very long day of walking around NYC on a sunny but cold and windy day (Wednesday, April 9), we felt like getting a late lunch/early dinner around 4 p.m. We had seen BG packed a few days earlier and thought it would be a good place to go back to. We were glad we did, but admittedly with our tourist clothes on (including a knit cap for me to cover my ears from the wind), we felt a bit underdressed as we looked inside the restaurant and asked the hosts if what we were wearing was OK. They jokingly replied that as long as we weren't in bikinis (and it definitely wasn't bikini weather), we could come on in. That instantly made us feel much more at ease. Even after visiting the ladies' room and getting my hat hair relatively presentable, I was still a little self-conscious until our server Scott came to our table and took our orders for very refreshing hot tea. Scott could not have been more gracious despite our less dressed-up appearance compared to other diners. My husband and I ate some wonderful sea bass for our entrees, bread and butter that hit the spot, and delicious fruit sorbet for dessert. All the while, we soaked up the elegant atmosphere (including the wonderfully black-and-gold higlighted bar area) and great views of Central Park. Awesome service no matter how one is dressed should always be celebrated, and we highly recommend having a celebration of your own at BG with great food and fantastic service.

Visited in 2018/2019. The place isn’t quite big, but it has such a lovely decor. We returned many times and I always order the lobster mac cheese, which is delicious. Prior reservation is important.

Our Serbian Bartender/waiter helped make this visit a wonderful experience. My deconstructed lobster lasagna was fabulous Wonderful mini bread basket, attentive server.

Had my first visit to the BG restaurant on the 7th floor of the store. What more can be said? Waiters with perfect service ( wearing white coats no less), welcoming prompt host...Fantastic Interior..Great views. The Balloon chairs were a charm.... I felt I was back in NYC from decades ago when I dined at Lutece..Le Cote Basque, Four Seasons etc....I had the afternoon tea and everything was perfect. I hesitated to write a review for I now am afraid of letting too many people know about this gem and possibly ruin it. I hope the management doesnt hire some young hipster that decides its too old fashioned looking for NYC has been in a downhill spiral of sloppy casual dining for years...My wife stated "let this be a place we come back to time and time again.....I agree,

Slow service with wrong order served. The tea selection was good though. As for the view, I guess it should be great provided one is seated next to a window. The place could do with a bit of cleaning as there was dust on the counter behind the sofa.

We visited BG to sample and compare the afternoon tea with other local afternoon tea offerings and here's the result: Small space, especially if the back part of the restaurant is being used for a private party (which it was when we were there). If you want the best view of the park, plan ahead and ask for those seats. There are fewer window seats than any other seats. Otherwise you get just a glimpse of tree tops. Tables are tight together for maximum occupancy so no real privacy but the noise level is low. Price for afternoon tea? On par with other restaurants catering to the type of patrons. Quality and service: hostesses were very nice. Waiter was very impersonal, no conversation or enthusiasm. Quality was ok, selection was fine. If you want to say you had lunch at BG, then fine, worth a visit, but my favorite tea so far this year has been at the Pierre.

So squashed in. Felt absolutely claustrophobic. Old and dusty. Same since forever. Elevator take forever Shopping for specific list. Sucessful purchases but the whole environment was off. Beauty was a nightmare. Selling scent in that tiny environment is a sin

Everyone was very knowledgeable respectful and friendly. Specially the Kilian, Maison Louis Marie and Sisley counter.

Excellent find on the 7th floor of Bergdorf Goodman. The old world NYC fashion feel is incredible, and the food is also great. Good Champagnes and wines y the glass. Skip the shopping and head right to the top of Bergdorf's for a great afternoon with a view of Central Park.

Popped in without a reservation for lunch. Group of 9. They gave us the option of waiting to sit together or immediate seating at two separate tables. The service was wonderful. The food was good overall. A couple of dishes were lacking of flavor. Presentation was nice. Window seating offers views of Central Park which kept the 5 year old entertained.

My husband and I dined at BG during our annual Labor Day weekend visit in NYC. The meal was delicious starting with the house salad and corn & clam chowder. For entrees, I had the seafood (shrimp, mussels, & clams) risotto in a tomato sauce...yum yum! My husband had the pan seared salmon over succotash. For dessert, we shared a very tasty cheesecake with tropical mango sauce and blackberries. Overall, experiencing the great views of Central Park, good service, and a delicious meal made this an enjoyable dinner.

Upon arriving here early for a birthday celebration, the host gave our table to someone with a later reservation who arrived one second before us. The host then treated us as if we didn't have a reservation at all and they had trouble finding us a table. The room was very noisy and many fellow diners were dressed more for the gym than for dining at BG. Our waitress was attentive and excellent, but we felt shunned despite telling the restaurant in advance we were there for a special occasion because there was no attempt to make the visit special for a birthday celebration. Anywhere else in NYC at that price point at least breaks out a candle. The food is a nostalgic nod to the 1960s, with sandwiches for tea including egg salad, chicken salad, and cucumbers with cream cheese on white bread. The scones and many of the desserts were delicious, but some missed the mark. Needless to say, we will not be returning.

Top notch and exquisite experience. We were seated at 11:30 in the lounge without a reservation. The food was amazing. So was the service! It is everything you’d imagine and more from this establishment! Enjoyed the view of Central Park too!

Thank you, Nick, for a making our special "return to school" dinner with my daughter so delightful. The cauliflower and chicken were delicious, as well as the strawberry shortcake and gluten-free mousse. What a wonderful view of the park at sunset, and we will be back! THANK YOU!

My girlfriend and I came to NYC for a GF shopping weekend - so we had to do BG !! The venue is fabulous and so is the service and food. White tailored servers and great menu made our lunch memorable. After roaming around all the floors we finished for lunch !! All ladies deserve a lunch at BG Cafe !!

Literally that one word described my and my niece's experience at BG today. It was my niece's birthday so I had booked a table for lunch knowing we were going to be in the area shopping. Bergdorf is a New York institution and after heading to the 7th floor we found BG and what a gem. We were greeted warmly and shown to our reserved table by the window as I had requested. BG accepts requests but cannot confirm a table by the window. The views of Central Park and the NYC skyscrapers made the ambience that much better. The food was delicious. We shared the Mediterranean/Mexze Platter for a starter and the hummus, tzatiki, and roasted pepper spread was incredible. I had the Salmon and my niece the lobster salad. The salmon was perhaps the best I've had and my niece echoed the same for her dish. We finished with the tarte tartin and the passionfruit cheesecake. They even put a candle on her dessert and wished her a Happy Birthday. The service....ADAM was outstanding....A big shout out to you Adam. He was warm and genuine and that's what I loved about BG, elegant without being pretentious. Even the hostess wished my niece a happy birthday on the way out. I look forward to coming back here! Thank you!

We make the pilgrimage to this excellent hideaway every time we’re in town. Best of everything with impeccable service, food and a legacy that makes it for a memorable lunch.

Was a really nice place to have dinner at. We had a beautiful table next to the window, hence view onto the Plaza and Central Park. The service was excellent and professional, and the food was superb too.

Stopped by here for a couple of drinks in between a wedding and the reception - nice view across the park, and great drinks, the staff are friendly

This is a dining experience I will have every time I am in NYC. Tea was fabulous and dinner was amazing. My daughter said her lobster roll was the best ever. The Croque Madame was superb. The staff is amazing and people watching is a plus.

Busy Friday lunch in She'll Chairs overlooking Central Park on the seventh floor. Ably and charmingly looked after by Adam. Starters of Scallops and Beetroot Salad, mains of Cauliflower with Roasted Pears and Raisins, accompanied by a bottle of Sancerre.... Best part of 200 dollars, but the experience worth it !!

This is one of the best places to enjoy a really Nice high tea. The view on Central Park is amazing.

I wanted to check the BG Restaurant out since Bergdorf Goodman is such a legendary store in New York City. Although it closes fairly early for dinner--at 7:00 pm--I arrived at 5:45 with a reservation and was pleasantly impressed with the quality of its dinner/lunch menu. The location on the top floor of Bergdorf Goodman is a great way to get a cool view of 5th Ave and the dining room itself is very, very elegant--I was impressed with the decor which was subtle but luxurious. The service and food were both very high quality for prices that I think, considering the price of the store's merchandise is general, was very reasonable! This is a great place to go for a treat and I would be happy to recommend it and to come back again when I'm in the City.

BG's on the top or nearly top of Bergdorf Goodman's is classic New York, Tasteful décor, well dressed, clientele, beautifully prepared food and attentive service. It is an experience to complement any need for shopping. We ate in the bar in large chairs overlooking Central Park. May well have been the only men there, but no matter; it was the kind of treat any male or female deserves. Fun, too!@

While the menu is a little limited, the food is delicious, the service attentive and the view splendid. If you have booked, wait as a table will usually pop up in half the time.

As I searched for lunch restaurants in the area, most of the choices for lunch were highlighting how good their burgers were. I wanted something lighter. I found BG on Trip Advisor. It is located on the 11th floor at Bergdorf Goodman. It is beautiful, has a buzz, and it was awesome. Great choices of wines and a range of food to select from. The service was great and you could carry on a conversation without being interrupted. It was charming for lunch with great views of Central Park. I started with a lobster bisque soup. It had a great consistency - without having a thick consistency - very flavorful. Next, I had the jumbo lump crab cake salad. Homemade cookies for dessert are light without giving you the guilt of eating dessert. Also excellent!

I love this restaurant. Whenever I eat here. I feel like a celebrity. Everything on the menu is amazing and the plates are always nicely decorated. The decor is awesome as well. The waiters are very well trained and extremely attentive.

I always come here when in NYC and after shopping at the great shoe department of Bergdorf Goodman. The restaurant is on the 7th floor and always very busy so better make a reservation. I love their tea selection and the lobster Napoleon (its a must). Nice views on The Plaza and the Park.

Spent a lovely afternoon with my friend at BG enjoying the afternoon tea Royale. We had a glass of Veuve Clicquot before extraordinary sandwiches (still dreaming of the chicken salad with truffles!), scone and clotted cream, and desserts. There was a choice of 10 Dammann Freres teas. It is everything you want it to be- beautiful ambiance, professional and friendly wait staff, and steps from Central Park. I recommend that you make reservations.

We had a lovely table looking out towards Central Park. It was very busy for lunch and the tables are rather close but this can be looked over as the food and service is first class. It’s a sophisticated ambience with waiting staff dressed in white jackets. I had the shrimp cocktail to start followed by an avocado salad both delicious and good size portion for lunchtime. We shared a pumpkin cheesecake to finish which was so tasty. Will definitely return when next in New York.

How to freeze during a whole lunch despite our requests to stop a cold fan above our shoulders. It was a bad experience and a bad manager. Unable to take care of us. However the food and the view are really worth it. And the rest of the team was nice.

Always love this little spot for lunch when in NYC. Pleasant staff and delicious food. I appreciate that they allowed us to linger and enjoy our champagne and lunch and didn't rush us out! Will be back soon!

We ate here for lunch was absolutely amazing! Staff was impeccable! Love the desserts!!! We had the lobster bisque! Poached egg special and shared the dessert special! Definitely a nice time! I would highly recommend!

We visited during the holidays. The windows alone are a must see! Truly they are works of art. Stunning and creative and part of the spendor of Fifth Avenue during the holidays!

were in Bergdoff Goodmans for lunch with my sister while on our Christmas shopping weekend. It was absolutely fabulou,s my scallops were cooked to perfection and the cocktails were delicious and our server could not have beenmore helpful. Will be visiting again this Christmas

What a wonderful lunch we had here. View of Central Park, excellent service and amazing food. Lobster salad was fantastic, salmon was perfectly done and the atmosphere an elixir for the soul! Do make reservations and do think of this as a destination restaurant rather than a store's dining room!

So i was eating here with my family. My wife asked for a knife. The waiter serving us ( a long haired male waiter) took a knife and he actually wiped that knife on the sleeve of another waiter. The other waiter whose shirt was being used to wipe the knife was kind enough to come to our table to replace the said knife...we wanted to file a complain but we are afraid he would spit on our food. So i am actually typing this review as we are eatung out said food... super disappointing for such an upscale restaurant... good food but that specific waiter spoils everythig....

It was hot as blazes and I did not want to wear a sport jacket, or even a long sleeve shirt. We had reservations on the 7th floor, but upon entry it was suggested that we go to the basement, where there apparently is some sort of cafe. Upon arrival at the restaurant, we were promptly seated in the bar, not the restaurant. At least it was at a window with a view. Ordered a bottle of nice red wine and waiter instantaneously appeared to take our food order. Gave him one and before we even finished the first glass of wine our food was in front of us. I noted this was too fast, which then led to punitively slow service. Dress to impress and you may make it through the attitude. I won't try again.

Came here with my son for some post Christmas shopping. The bar-resturant on the top floor is a great place to unwind and has a neat view of the area.

Lobster Pot Pie. Nuff Said. Service, ambiance, food- trifecta. Memorable. One of my new favorites. Grateful

Worst pour (of wine) in New York. And some service needs work. Okay, in general this is a good restaurant, but I just had to say that for $16 for a glass of wine (the least expensive one by the glass), this is the puniest, tiniest pour I can remember. It's like a large shot glass of wine. It seems so ungenerous overall - like a reflection of the restaurant's attitude toward its customers. It's bad policy and discourages you from coming back. I know the wine markup is tremendous, so this is one area where they could "give back" to their customers a bit. I had two glasses, which equaled one glass at almost any other restaurant. So that "glass" cost me $32 for a Malbec. I like eating at the department stores where I shop - it's so convenient (well, Fred's at Barney's is a favorite). But I will seriously reconsider going to BG Restaurant anymore - except perhaps for a view of the park if it's snowing. That's special - if you're lucky to get the right seat. And just a weird little ending to my recent dinner - when I asked to include the bread in my already prepared doggy bag (I don't like wasting food), the server (a woman who was not my waiter) brought me the plastic container to do it myself. First, this almost never happens in even the most modest of restaurants in NYC, but to happen here showed a lack of training of its service staff that was surprising. Anyway, I'm mostly writing this to warn people that unless you don't care what things cost, be prepared to get hosed for the wine.

Chose this venue after a couple of other venues didn't have availability...so glad I did! Read some of the positive reviews for the afternoon tea so booked for first slot at 3pm. The restaurant is located on the 7th floor with fabulous views over looking Central Park. Upon arrival we were immediately shown to a window table. We were looked after very well by Nick and he was friendly and chatty. The selection of finger sandwiches, cakes and delicious morsels were divine. Their scones are melt in the mouth and having done a lot of afternoon teas these were by far the best I've ever experienced! A lovely touch was a complimentary crème brulee with a lit candle which they brought out at the end as they knew it was my birthday. Cost was $45 per person which was very reasonable. It was an ideal opportunity to explore their shopping floors after we'd eaten to walk off our food. Thanks BG for making my birthday extra special!

My husband and I and another couple had a 1:15 PM reservation on Christmas Eve and were seated at one of the few window tables of this very popular seventh-floor restaurant. The view in a clear day was wonderful! The bread basket had a good selection and the butter was served cold. My friend and I ordered salads and our husbands’ sandwiches. Everything was delicious! My husband had to ask for mayonnaise three times and the manager who stopped by to ask “How is everything?” finally brought him some. Other than that one glitch, having lunch here was a great experience on this holiday in New York!

Visited this restaurant on December 21 for lunch after booking the reservation on Open Table. My favorite NYC lunch venue with beautiful presentation , great staff, ambience and delicious food. It’s not cheap but it’s so worth it. Old school NY department store feel with a high class, French decor. Have the deviled eggs and the roast chicken on the menu. A mimosa is recommended and the dessert of the day is a sure way to satisfy a sweet craving.

Great view, great service, great food, and a bill to match. Tuna tartare is excellent as is the crab cake which is gigantic! Strawberry shortcake was delicious.

I love coming here and feel like it's still a bit of a hidden gem that everyone should experience once, when visiting New York. Up on the 7th floor, there is a plush old world elegance (Kelly Wearstler redecorated) and a view overlooking Central Park. The atmosphere is wonderful, and service terrific. The most recent visit was with my daughter, two nieces and sister-in-law. We had champagne and salads to celebrate my niece finding her wedding dress!

We definitely wanted to return to this charming restaurant while we were in the city. The lunch crowd filled the room but we were able to get a table near the bar. It was fun people watching in this great little venue. We enjoyed a glass of wine as we waited for the lobster macaroni and cheese and the cauliflower appetizer. Both were marvelous. The waiter was pleasant and had a nice sense of humor. I always look forward to a lovely lunch there.

Busy yet beautifully well run tastefully decorated for the season restaurant with pricey hearty cocktails and delicious cuisine served by efficient wait staff! Jessica was our server. So delightful and pleasant to us! We were three ladies from Philadelphia and somehow got talking with manager Bruno who kindly graced us with champagne whilst enjoying our rich and delicious chocolate desert. Bergdorfs is huge to stroll through and Restaurant is up on the top upper floor and as you stroll to get there you can get turned around side tracked because of the multiple warren of display rooms! For us on a December visit there was Christmas decor like no other! No wonder there is a delicious restaurant in this huge store! You literally could spend a day in there! Especially if you have deep pockets!

Tucked away on the top floor of the woman’s store with views over Central Park, it is still the buzzing place for lunch or afternoon tea. Great service and delicious food. The place is always a winner!

On the 7th floor of Bergdorf Goodman, BG offers super elegant and posh, Large windows framed with breathtaking views of Central Park , hand-printed wallpaper, beautifully upholstered furniture it caters the high class clientele and covers delectable comfort to classic meals/dishes.

Absolutely magical! The service was impeccable. The quality of the teas and absolutely everything in the tiered serving tray was delicious. Nothing to envy the British tea time at Fortnum and Mason. We will certainly go back!

I always enjoy coming to the BG restaurant! The Napoleon Lobster is to die for!!! And the Gotham salad is too good! Love this place

I return often to BG-Bergdorf Goodman to treat friends and colleagues to afternoon tea. This time with two old friends certainly did not disappoint. Two of us had the Royal Tea Service with the added glass of excellent Champagne. The tea sandwiches were fresh and delicious. The pot of English Breakfast tea had sufficient loose tea for a second infusion of hot water. The scone with clotted cream, lemon curd, and strawberry preserves was great, and the desserts were subline. Daniel is an excellent, competent, attentive yet unobtrusive waiter. Thank you, Bergdorf's, for remaining consistently true to your high standards.

The view alone should take you here. This beautiful little gem is a haven from the shopping mecca that is Bergdorf Goodman. Pop in for high tea, lunch or in my case early dinner. The wait staff are attentive and friendly. The menu is very well considered. Portion sizes are perfect.......... unless you’re a ‘value for money ‘ kinda gal. The dishes are delicate and delicious. For the most part all produce and ingredients are locally sourced. This time round I had the cauliflower soup followed by their signature dish..... seared diver scallops on artichoke ricotta ravioli with a beurre blanc sauce and shaved truffles........ need I say more. Sooooo delicious. Topped off by a surprisingly good latte and complimentary chocolate. This Department store restaurant could hold its head up amongst any.

A very lovely place for lunch. The food is delicious. The ambience is lovely. The views are very nice. The service is excellent. A bit pricey but a special treat.

I enjoy dining at this restaurant anytime I'm shopping at Bergdorf's. I usually dine solo at the bar and often find myself engaged in conversations with other patrons sitting nearby. This rarely happens elsewhere. There's just something very pleasant about the atmosphere. Now dining can be a bit pricey. I recently spent almost $100 on lunch for one (this included two cocktails and the gratuity). You can probably dine for 50% less. I would recommend lunch here if in NYC and shopping nearby. The restaurant provides a great view as well.

Love eating here while in NY. The food is superb and the ambiance is truly special. I highly recommend stopping in for tea as well as lunch.

If you are one of the lucky ones to discover this “hidden gem” on the 7th floor of Bergdorf Goodman- all your senses will be lavished and sing with joy. Upon entering, you are invited in by a stunningly appointed and cozy interior, an iconic view of Central Park, the Plaza Hotel and 5th Avenue, a welcoming and attentive staff and a menu to suit any craving, even that of a most sophisticated palate. The menu is studded with gems such as the scallops with artichoke ravioli, seafood gnocchi, and gentle portions of sweet treats, accompanied by a perfectly balanced, frothy cappucino. The BG Afternoon Tea from 3pm-5pm is a perfect mid-afternoon respite and offers an assortment of unique tea blends, an elegant three-tiered silver serving-tray selectively appointed with delicious tea sandwiches, scones and other bite-size pastries that are sure delight. I hope you will discover this special treasure nestled in the cradle of luxury and opulence of NYC. Enjoy!

service was excellent. food a large salad tasted like it came from a prepared salad bag. Dont't bother for the food. if yu are willing to pay for elegance and nice service then go right ahead. If yu are going for the food forget it. If yu get a table by the window great. If not and yu are seated it the middle of the restaurant, it will be noisy. The date we went was October 5 Saturday.

I make a point of eating here every time I visit NYC. The food is expertly prepared and the service is delightful. The views out to Central Park are great, but any seat in this restaurant is a visual feast of interior design, by Kelly Wearstler and the people watching. It is a unique NYC treat. MAKE A RESERVATION or get there early for a place at the counter. Either way, go.

We hit this place up for lunch, and it was excellent. The service was outstanding. Basically, it's a top pick.

We treated ourselves to afternoon tea here, as a luxury whilst on holiday. The surroundings were beautiful, views from the window great and the service very friendly and efficient. I don't usually manage to finish my afternoon teas, but the variety, size and quality of this one was excellent and we polished off the lot. Price was very reasonable too. Considering we were in a high end 5th avenue department store. I would recommend it.

Had the most amazing lunch this afternoon at BG; had made a 2:15 reservation & was seated within 10 minutes of arriving. The gentleman at the door was so lovely. Was seated at a great table overlooking the park. My server was so lovely, professional & beyond attentive. I started with the scallops which were incredible & very decadent especially with the truffles. My main course was the salmon which was great. I was so amazed at the beautiful service & it seemed like this is the way BG operates every day. It is a special place for a special occasion or just a casual lunch for 1 if u are shopping. I would suggest making a reservation on the weekend. You will not be disappointed & can’t wait to go back.

This is a classic spot to do afternoon tea - while I personally think the tea royale service is completely unnecessary, tea service comes with some finger sandwiches, scones, and a little dessert tray. Nibbling on these while overlooking Central Park and sipping tea truly sets the mood to go on dates, gossip, and catch up with friends. I personally adore the scones and took the adorable little pot of honey with me on the way out but my friend really enjoyed the top tier of desserts, while the bottom tray of finger sandwiches is average. The restaurant is popular on weekends, so try to come during weekdays. Even so, the waitstaff are quick and prompt with service on busy days and you will not be kept waiting long!

Went here as a treat for my mother in laws birthday for afternoon tea. Gorgeous place, lovely views across Columbus circle from our table by the window. The service was fantastic, very attentive. They brought out a cake on the house for my mother in law which was a lovely unexpected surprise. If you want to splash out a bit and feel special for a couple of hours, this is the place to come

Four of us had afternoon tea on June 4. The dining room and the view at BG's were spectacular. Our service was excellent. The choice of teas were fine. However, that was the end of our good experience. When the tea service arrived, all sandwiches with the exception of the cucumber were very stale. It appeared they were running low on the sandwich fillings because there was just a scant amount between two pieces of bread, making the flavor of the bread overpower the filling. The scones reminded us of a very sweet, over cooked and crumbly cookie instead of an Englisg scone, making it very difficult to cut in half and spread the FABULOUS clotted cream and very nice jarred English jams. To top it off, all the cakes and pastries appeared not to be made in-house. They all tasted like purchased boxed desserts. If they were made in-house, it was a job poorly done. And one more thing, why would BG choose to serve packaged sugar and not sugar cubes? Packages do not add anything special to a tea service.

Perhaps one of the most soothing restaurants I've ever visited. I absolutely loved the decor and the views. The food was also very good, especially the deviled eggs.

Very accommodating staff, served with pleasure, excellent drinks, the barman was great! Pasta is delicious, salads are great. Great views on Central park. Nice easy place to have an excellent lunch in New York city Will sure return

I love this place and is always my go to place for reliably good food and service However, the Staff isn’t terribly attentive Food is most always quite good It’s pricey , but worth it , especially if u can get a table which views the park You may have to ask for warm rolls/ butter more then u should have to with A Restaurant of this Caliber Servers seemed a tad bit overwhelmed

I would like to give this a 5 Star, and would have for my meal. However, my business associate ordered the afternoon tea. I would have expected something more impressive for the price tag it commands - $45. I hail from England, so have enjoyed a lot of afternoon teas in my day. I really thought this would be among one of the best, but not to be. They use Devonshire cream, not clotted cream, which they do disclaim, to their credit. However, it’s a poor substitute and their price tag is way off base IMO. The little sandwiches and cakes are cute but there really should be more. I sampled a couple of the treats and was not impressed, and my associate gave the thumbs down for all but the scone. I will go again, because my meal was outstanding and could not be faulted. The service was exceptional and the ambience outstanding. I would just not recommend the cream tea at all. And, I was looking for somewhere in the city to take people for an authentic English style afternoon tea - disappointed that I will have to keep looking for that.

We have eaten lunch at this beautiful restaurant many times. It never fails to delight. The view of Central Park from the restaurant are breathtaking and the restaurant itself is bright, cheery and elegant. Food, drinks and service are all tops.

Dining in the fabulous Bergdorf was a pleasant experience for both my father and I. I ordered the cauliflower steak which was crispy and full of flavour. The chefs show their talents and experiences through the exceptional menu. The service was excellent at the table by the window we sat at made lunch very enjoyable.

Amazing selection of menswear, I like the fact the men’s and women’s stores are separate. Superb aftershaves and service was outstanding. The assistant who served me in Moncler was very attentive and patient. Superb all round!

Lacking in imagination and creativity. On a rainy day, if you wish to stay dry, by all means come up to the seventh floor, otherwise you are in NYC ! - No reason to eat here .

Lovely and elegant place with superb views . Attentive staff and some of the best food we had in a while. Can highly recommend

The British have given us their language, and the tradition of High Tea--both major contributions to civilization. Bergdorf Goodman is upholding the tea tradition with elegance. The half dozen sandwiches were all delightful and very fresh, the scones (just one each?!) with clotted cream and jams were memorable, and the sweets, so good and so much more than I deserved at that stage. Among the teas around our table, I think the Gout Russe came out on top in the informal survey. I did not hurt to add a glass of champagne either. While much is made out of the proximity to Central Park, one should have modest expectations in that regard. How much you see of it depends very much on where you are seated.

This was a shocker (not a good one). We went here for the wow factor, obviously. If you go as well, keep in mind you will be paying for the location/view. The service was impeccable, the restaurant and the staff really made sure that our experience was just incredible. Here's the shocker - the food. Oh the horror. Whoever the chef(s) is should be tied to the chair and fed the same dishes they made! We ordered a crabcake and a salmon with one alcoholic drink to sip on. How can one ruin couscous? Well it happened. We tried each others dishes to make sure neither one of us was going crazy. Crabcake came with a small coleslaw and splat of fancy tasting mayo mix. The best part of crabcake dish was the mayo mix, see the light greenish splat on dish for reference. The salmon dish...ughh the fact that it was salmon made it tolerable, the couscous did not have a chance...how and why would you ruin couscous!!!!??? You will get better flavor at Ikea (kid you not). The one drink we ordered was a flop it was so alcoholic I could have ordered a shot at an east village bar.. Both of us were taken back by the polar opposite of pristine service and staff vs the food that was butchered with no mercy. Few weeks later I dined in an Amtrack sleeper and their prepackaged dinner dish was tastier than this. Definitely memorable experience, it is now the threshold of quality of food we are getting at a specific restaurant. Fyi, I NEVER decline dessert, splitting but always trying at least one. When another incredible staff came in to offer dessert menu I had to decline so that my taste buds did not commit suicide. It would have been unfortunate if the two dishes were followed by a similarly made dessert. We tipped plenty, but I cannot justify paying $200 for mediocre food. So many places where you can get tasty fish (any other fancy restaurant or ikea) and yummy crabcakes (pennsylvania 6 nyc or cheesecake factory). Originally we were suppose to do afternoon tea, but we did not make it in time, and settled for dinner, figuring we woould come back next time for it. Reading mixed reviews on afternoon tea, it's a hit or a miss, and Im not spending another $200 on that again. The two stars are for the staff, otherwise this should be zero.

First, it's a classy and interesting looking place with Central Park views. We had the deviled eggs, which were fantastic. The bar tender was very charming, and good at his craft. We had a sparkling rose he recommended and it was delicious. It's a pretty packed place, so I recommend making reservations. I will definitely return.

I wanted to take my mom to afternoon tea while in the city for her 70th birthday. I could not get a reservation at another place nearby and heard of high tea at BG's. We are so glad we ended up here. The view was spectacular. The service was outstanding. And the food was beautifully prepared and delicious. The price was only $45 per person and well worth it. We will certainly be back for this must do NYC experience.

We brought our daughter there and when I personally called to make a reservation for high tea, at 12:15, they didn’t tell me they don’t do high tea til 3-5. So we wasted a trip there and ended up making another reservation for 4:45. We had to taxi back. Maybe it was because we were near the end of high tea, we weren’t greeted til about 5 minutes until after sitting down. The breads seemed a little dried out, like they sat around for awhile. I will say, I feel bad writing this review, as they were nice and brought a delicious mouse dessert in honor of her bday. I will say, that was very decadent and delicious! I’m just saddened as the last time we went, everything was so special. Service was exceptional, and the goodies were all fresh and amazing. I just wanted it to be magical for her and it was just ok.

This spot is tops for lunch. Some of the seating has killer views of Central Park. All of the tables are charming. Cocktails are well made and the food is good. Our server, Shuba, was very helpful. Not a bad idea to reserve in advance as the spot is in high demand.

We love BG's top floor restaurant! The staff know us by name and are always welcoming. The food is always outstanding! I love the lobster salad-must try! The have a great mix of healthy options as well as decadent dishes and desserts. It is the perfect place to take a shopping break! We will keep coming back!

I visited the restaurant with my friend earlier in the week. We drank champagne at a very reasonable price by NYC standards whilst overlooking Central Park. We also ordered beautiful salads and deserts. Our server (Nick) was great and made our visit enjoyable.

Fantastic! Great ambience, delicious food, fabulous service. This is a perfect spot for a glorious lunch we ate Caprese Salad and Truffle Chicken Pot pie which was incredible. Great Champagne selection too.

Recently visited for a quick lunch pre-theater matinee and BG did not disappoint. The servers are attentive and the food comes fairly quickly for being as good as it is. The food itself was delicious. We only had salads but they were tasty and perfectly prepared. The dining room uses some great glasses, that are on sale on the same floor for $165 per glass! At the end of your dining experience we were given a $25 gift card per person, good for only that day, non-sale items. It was a very nice touch. If you want to be seated in the "princess chairs" be sure to request that at your reservation because there are only about 4 tables that have them.

We had a family lunch @ BG restaurant; friendly and helpful staff. Elegant surrounding yet found the price/ quality ratio to be off. Expected better quality food especially for the steep prices they charge.

The views over central park and fifth avenue are the most coveted perches here with some tables featuring charming barrel chairs as well. Chinoiserie wall paper in pale aqua and a sophisticated ambiance are here for all to enjoy. Lunch and teatime are unsurpassed for people watching from the Birkin-toting fashionistas in their designer finery to just plain folks out shopping who know what's good. The food is wonderful! A convivial atmosphere reigns supreme here and the added bonus is that you are also on the gift floor of Bergdorf's which is curated to entertain and delight even the most jaded globe trotting shopper.

2 couples dined for lunch. 3 of us had scallops with truffle for starters - we were all delighted. Mains were a variety of fish dishes - lobster salad, lobster pasta, sea bass, branzini - all superb. Helped down with a bottle of champagne. Would very much recommend visitors to dine here at least once. Great view over Central Park from this 7th floor restaurant. We always dine here once when we are in New York. We recommend it!
