Spectacular breakfast. Blueberry pancakes, crab eggs benedict and spectacular biscuit. Truly one of best meals my husband and I ever had. Would absolutely return and suggest to others!! Met the incredible chef also!

Make sure you make reservations! They will take walk ins IF they can and you can also sit at the bar but to be on the safe side- make reservations! The waitstaff was quick and friendly. The food was really good and the shrimp and grits were some of the best Iâve ever had. My friend and I ordered the biscuits and since my friend didnât like the jelly that comes with it, our server gave her an alternative. The drinks were good and definitely worth the money. We were there before the DJ, but there was gospel music playing at a decent volume. I know there are so many wonderful restaurants in the area but I will definitely return.

When we arrived in New York, this restaurant was in walking distance of the bed & breakfast where we were staying. Everything about this cozy spot was inviting--from the art work on the walls to the warm and friendly service. We got there at 11am on a Friday morning and we were expecting to have breakfast, but they only had lunch items available at that hour. I ordered the Braised Short Rib Quesadilla, which was delicious. My friends had the Jumbo Shrimp + Grits and the Turkey Meatloaf, which they both raved about. We spent about an hour there before setting out to do some sight-seeing and shopping, and in that length of time we were their only customers. I don't know if this is a new restaurant, but don't sleep on this one because the food is great, the prices are reasonable and that welcome-to-Harlem ambiance can't be beat.

We chose this place for brunch because it is one of the few places where one can book, and we were glad we did given the queue that built up. Standard practice on a Sunday in NYC, apparently. The place had a great buzz about it and our waiter was brilliant - friendly and helpful, but also scored well on London banter! The menu was standard brunch fair. We were a party of three and had the blueberry pancakes (homemade and excellent), the French Toast (with brioche: also excellent) and the biscuit sandwich, which looked very good. Top tip - we went for a pitcher of Mimosa for $34. This was easily two glasses each, and yet a glass cost $9. Bargain!

Came here with my daughter and her friend. We had a reservation, hostess initially greeted us and when we told her we had a reservation said, 'hold on a second while I seat this party'. Seemed normal and reasonable. As we waited at the podium for her to ask us our name, she proceeded to sit several more tables, and offer drinks to everyone waiting ( the line is outside). We waited for 20 minutes until she got back to us. We were seated outside, fair enough, but the food was bland and choices mediocre. Our server bordered on rude. I am at a loss to understand why they are rated so highly with so many awesome brunch options in Harlem and throughout the city. To add to it I think it's highly over priced. Never returning.

This spot is amazing all around: menu, food, service, and ambiance! I'm already looking forward to going back again! The turkey meatloaf, mashed potatoes, steamed beans, and peach cobbler with ice cream were all scrumptious. The quaint and beautiful decor makes this a place in which you want to linger. And the hostess is so welcoming that one leaves feeling as if a new friendship has been made. I'm looking forward to returning again for dinner AND also trying the mouth watering brunch menu one day as well.

What can I say, October is my birthday month so a good friend of mine treated me to brunch here this past weekend. The menu was the pull as I wanted everything on it! I had the Shrimp and Grits which were cheesy, shrimp was seasoned and we also had the southern tea with prosecco in a carafe. Needless to say by the time we left , I was full and very happy! The biscuits that came with our meals reminded me of being with my family in Charlotte and the maple butter was to die for! You know I will be back!!

Great brunch. It was worth the waiting, great food in this small place. We will come back. Homemade, tasting and frindly place in Harlem

My sister and I ate here during a spontaneous trip to NYC (we live in Philly which is 2 hours south of NYC). We used the Yelp app to find which restaurants were close to us. BLVD has a nice decor, cool ambience, good service and good food (most importantly!). We were there for brunch on Sunday. I got the organic eggs which also included home fries, bacon, and a biscuit. It was delicious and very filling. My sister got the crab cakes Benedict. She said it tasted good, but I must say that for $20 the serving size was too small! Luckily I had enough to share with her. I would definitely come back to this place if in the area.

We came here because I had a craving for eggs, but it was after midday and most places we tried prior to coming here were no longer serving "breakfast food". This venue was previously picked out by my best friend who we were visiting from London, and after being put off by the more trendy, touristic places in Harlem, this ended up being a good choice. The waiter seemed a little moody to start, but once we got him talking he warmed up, I can only put that down to it being his busy period just prior. Although the venue is small, which is a shame because they could do great business, I am happy to say that the food was really good and authentic if you are familiar with southern cuisine. The chicken and biscuits in a basket, were simply to die for, it's been a long time since we have been in the south but I wished I could take them back to the UK with me. I did get my eggs, but spent most of the time dipping into my husbands plate. He had collard greens for the first time and enjoyed them as an alternative veg. The food was clearly adequate because my husband seemed to get his fill which doesn't happen often. Overall, the vibe was nice, service (once warmed up) was excellent and food was great. Worth a stop in, even if impromptu as we did.

I was looking for an intimate location to have an anniversary meal with my wife of 41 years. We had been to BLVD a couple times before and since we were going to the city for a matinee performance, Sunday Brunch seemed like a good idea. I made reservations and mentioned we were coming to celebrate our special day. When we arrived the hostess met us at the door and said, "You are here celebrating your anniversary, we are preparing your table for you." Even though I had not mentioned that I wanted a table by the front window thats exactly where we were seated. The service was excellent and the food was delicious, lite and just the right portion. We both had the Crab Cake Benedict and extra biscuits. Our dining experience was a perfect way to begin our special day. Thank you BLVD Bistro!!!

Family Thanks giving Dinner . The service was excellent. 3 courses meal . Salmon was perfect and the desertâ chocolate cake/ ice creamâ yummyyyyyy.

I have dined at BLVD Bistro many times when it was located on Lenox Avenue and most recently, in it's new location on 116th Street. I was excited for the location change, as it is a larger space and not located in a basement. However, the capacity is still out of line with the demand, especially on weekends. The food is excellent. I have brought many people to dine here and the feedback is typically positive. You are unlikely to be disappointed with your meal. However, the satisfaction of your meal is often overshadowed by poor service and management that is greatly in need of improvement. On a recent visit, I made advance reservations for a group of about 15 for a weekend brunch, as we were celebrating a relative's anniversary. Upon arrival, the staff was completely unprepared for us and actually showed surprise that we had arrived on time. The entry area was packed body to body with those who could not fit standing outside. Trying to get to the host was an exercise in patience and skill. After speaking with at least 4 different staff members (including a manager), waiting over an hour, and receiving excuse after excuse as to why we had not been seated yet (and failure to provide any accurate ETA for seating), we left and went across the street to Harlem Tavern. At BLVD, we were told that our group was supposed to be set up in the back room which is a semi-private space but that a group of ladies had been dining at one of the larger tables there for several hours, "dragging out" their brunch and that they could not ask them to leave. That came across as mismanagement and poor operations and none of us had any confidence that waiting around another half hour would have resulted in any different outcome. Our departure was highly unfortunate considering the amount that our group would have spent. Even worse, I had raved to my relatives about how good the food was but after the experience, none of them had any desire to return. I'm still rooting for BLVD Bistro to get it together and live up to their potential but from what I can tell, they're just not there yet.

Located in the Harlem area, which is now a very trendy spot, i was really good. The atmsophere was relaxed and we enjyed it. We went quite early, we had things on. Our daughter, who moved to NY recently, lives only a train stop or 2 away and she'd heard it eas good. The service was wonderful. the staff are happy to be there and really want to make sure you are happy with your choices. The food was reasonably priced and flet it was made with love. The choices were ood, and we all found something to suit our tastes. Sort of comfort food and you felt the staff were like that too. I can highly recommend this fun place to eat. Will happily return on my next visit to NY. Not expensive or pretentious, a fun nigh out.

We had brunch yesterday, and it was outstanding. The restaurant bills itself as a soul food place and indeed it is soulful. I had the catfish, eggs, and grits, and my partner had the shrimp and grits. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. The BLVD Mary is great. Don't be scared by the topped with Corona. And definitely order the bread basket, which contains some of the best biscuits that I have ever had. The place is small, so try to reserve or get there early.

We ate at BLVD late one night and almost stumbled over it - it's not brash, but subtle and not easy to spot. We were looking for somewhere close to our B&B after going to the Halloween Parade at Greenwich and how lucky we were - this hit the spot perfectly. The restaurant is small and cozy and all the staff were welcoming and friendly. The waitress patiently explained that the warm scones which they provided instead of bread are called biscuits (very tasty too). The menu was interesting and not overwhelming and as Brits, all of it offered a slice of American cooking. It was great value too with interesting beers and good wines - the most reasonably priced we found anywhere. And the food was delicious. My son had an enormous pork chop that looked straight of Desperate Dan comic strip. My Turkey meatloaf was both huge (2 massive slices) and delicious and the parmesan mash a great accompaniment. The rest of us had chicken and rice and judging by the 'mmmm' noises and empty plate - just as enjoyable. The down side was that most of us were too full for dessert although my son also managed to have chocolate cake. Again - enormous and according to him, delicious. If I'm ever back in New York, wherever I'm staying, this is where I'll head to. One final mention to the great music. We thoroughly enjoyed it and it rounded off a lovely evening.

What a pleasant surprise. In the basement of one of the nice brownstone classic mansions along Malcolm X Blvd, this little place serves Southern soul food in a pleasant relaxed atmosphere. My kids call it hipster (soft drinks served in jars..). Food is good too. Recommended!

Farewell family brunch to New York after 5 days of stay and after a gospel mass in a nearby church in Harlem. Pretty well priced

A small place, quite tight inside. The service is good and friendly. The food was good and a good menu, really enjoyed the tastes.

Decided to go uptown for Sunday Brunch ... not looking for Jazz or Gospel just good food. Found at this location at the garden level of a brownstone off 125th Street on Lenox Ave. The space is tight but so is the food. I had scrambled eggs with turkey bacon and biscuits! Yes it was a simple dish but it was well done. The biscuits were fantastic and you can tell they were made from scratch not just heated up. My friends had the fried chicken and while the size was nothing to rave about it must have been good because there was no offer of "try this". And to top it off a dish of Almond Joy coconut ice cream. YES!!!

Great little spot in Harlem. Have enjoyed an amazing Sunday brunch as well as dinner. The food is really, really and the service is top notch. Shrimp and grits is amazing, but so is everything else I tried. Nice Harlem vibe adds to the experience.

On Saturday 10/25/2025. We had just buried my mother in law and through the madness my wife and her sister completely forgot to make reservations to feed the family that evening. So on the way back from the burial I call BLVD and speak to what I now know was the owner. Who was completely empathetic and understanding and said we may not be able to seat you all together but let us try to take care of you. Fast forward we get to the restaurant and the hostess was the worst. We explained that we had called and she was nonchalant and unpleasant to deal with. We explained we had called and that's when said you talked to the owner not me. She even said she was waiting on a party of 15 and if they didn't show up we could have it and that was that. It never dawned on me that the party of 15 was actually us. But her attitude caused us to head a few blocks to Melba's where the hostess was the complete opposite and after we explained the situation she said let me see what I can do and went on to not only get us all seated together within a half an hour. We didn't mind the wait we just wanted to eat and call it a day. I truly don't know who hostess was at BLVD but in our situation zero people skills. To said we were disappointed would be putting it mildly.

Five of us had a wonderful brunch here today - our first time to this small, quaint, hopping spot in Harlem. Very friendly service with eating areas inside and outside. While we were waiting for our friends to arrive, they gave us chilled bottles of water! We had reservations for 11 am - it wasn't busy when we arrived but there was a long line when we left an hour and a half later, so plan ahead! All the brunch dishes we sampled were great, but the fried chicken sliders were AMAZING !!! The chicken was so moist, and the biscuits heavenly! Next time, I'll make a meal of these! Also loved my BLVD Mary - a Bloody Mary made with Corona beer - perfect for a hot summer day! The only downside for us was the noise level. The acoustics in this small space made it almost impossible for me to hear anything that was being said at our table. But I'd come back for the food and friendly service! I can hardly wait for more sliders!

Hard hard time deciding which item on menu to select. Everything looked good. Finally decided on the catfish Po'Boy. Was very good. Everyone liked their meals. Service was good, fast and friendly.

This quaint restaurant in a Harlem brownstone is a must! It is the best brunch in town! The owner is visible and often stops by the tables to say hello. I sent a friend there on my recommendation and she can't stop talking about the pancakes. I had the Belgian waffle and it was to die for. I am a native NYer who doesn't live there anymore, and I will always eat here when I come home to visit. Check out the bathroom for a chance to reminisce about great times of the past

We have already been here for brunch on Saturday and have enjoyed the pancakes. Now we came back for dinner and we were not disappointed. The meal was great and the service very friendly. They even speak french, which was appreciated by our french friends. Our husbands enjoyed the smoked chicken, my friend had the Cheeseburger and I had the baby ribs. Everything was fine and my baby ribs were cooked to perfection. Great evening!

Visting New York for a few days and a friend took us to Blvd. Bistro for dinner. What a treat. Four of us shared the fired chicken, 7 cheese Mac & Cheese with bacon, shrimp and grits, pulled pork and fried chicken sliders, so much food that we took it home on the plane with us the next day. Best in-flight meal ever! They start you out with deliciously warm biscuits, hard not to stop eating those so you have room for your meal. A big thank you to the friendly staff for a great dining experience.

Reservations are a must as this place is very popular. Wonderful Fried Chicken. Nice biscuits and grits.

We are so happy that we stumbled onto BLVD Bistro! Yum! We shared the succulent chicken and biscuits and the blueberry pancakes as well. We'll be back! Looking forward to your new larger location next year!

The first thing that came to your mind when you step on the restaurant is " GUMBO" ? this is the right spot..... Great southern hospitality and foods.

Dined here with my cousin and it was absolutely delightful. The biscuits are light, fluffy and tasty and pairs well with the butter or spread or both. Yummy The shrimp and grits was filling and flavorful. My cousin had the fried chicken which she said was well done and not laden with oil. This is a must do over with my College girls. I urge all to try! The seating is close but hey you may meet someone niceđđ˝

Delicious dinner with very good service. Pulled pork sandwich was best I've had, and fried chicken sliders were also great. Be sure to try biscuits with the sweet butter - they're also great. Only disappointment was we were too full for dessert.

Sat. night dinner. Service was indifferent bordering on rude. rushed us through each stage. Drinks were tasty but had very little alcohol. Salads were tasty. Chicken sliders delivered cold. Mains lacked a lot of flavor. Grits were fantastic. Didnt offer us dessert, when asked they delivered an apple tart that tasted like it had been in a fridge too long. Vegetarian options were lacking (though I guess for soul food place this might be a lot to ask).

They have a wonderful menu and wine selection. I had a nice Riesling to go along with my meal. I enjoyed the turkey meatloaf on a bed of mashed potatoes, the meatloaf had a nice blend of ground turkey, seasonings, and sweet tomato sauce. read more: http://activities-eatsandtravels.blogspot.com/2015/03/harlem-dining-blvd-bistro.html

I believe that Soul Food takes time and love, in order to be made right. Blvd Bistro mixes all those ingredients and makes amazing experiences. My first visit to Blvd Bistro was simply divine. I had the Shrimp & Grits and hands down it was the best grits I may have ever had. Chef Carlos put a lot of love into his pots. Along with the Shrimp & Grits I recommend the Blvd Burger and the Fried Okra. I can't wait to come back and try other items on the menu.

Was recommended as a favorite spot by The Long Gallery. Did not disappoint. Friendly staff, feels like you're sitting in the midst of a historic Harlem hangout. Friend ordered the Fried Chicken dinner w/greens and potato salad; I ordered the wood grilled chicken with rice and beans. Ordered the biscuits that came with a delicious honey butter spread. We sampled each other's chicken dishes, and neither disappointed! The wood grill is great has a sweet side; fried chicken was good. Sides were good.

Grits and topped with cheese was the highlight of my meal also the collard greens were great ; didn't care for the fried chicken, bit grease.Overall it was a nice place with good service.

Man oh man! A diamond in the rough this place. I'm so glad I was able to get the experience here. I never have nothing nice to say about soul foo spots in NY, but this one is good! I wanted to get out the house so I decided that myself and little one would go for lunch. I've had bad experiences at Sylvia's and Amy Ruth's so I was a little skeptical about this place. We walked on over and the rest was history. The waitress was very nice and knowledgeable about all menu items. I ordered the fried grouper with okra, tomatoes and corn and the baby got macaroni with bacon. As I wait for our food I looked around and the decor is nice and chillaxed. It's a small spot but is nicely decorated and comfortable. I also loved how they have the soundtrack of my high school life playing in the background lol. The music is perfect for this place. We received our food at a good time. The baby's macaroni was good and my grouper was so delicious!!! I was honored to meet the chef himself and he's a nice guy. This is most definitely my spot to visit when I come. They also have brunch on Saturdays.

Since visiting the South I finally understood the hype about good biscuits. The North makes bagels, but the South makes biscuits . That all changed with Blvd. The Homestyle biscuits at Brunch were freakin' amazing . Crumbly , buttery , soft and crispy -omg . They came with some sort of maple butter that was just as awesome . Have a sparkling sweet tea on the side and it is fantastic . We ate at Red Rooster but this place blows it away ! Definitely make reservations as it is small. My husband got the Fried Chicken and my sons ordered the Shrimp and grits ( wow !) Definitely worth many trips back to Harlem .

Nine of us had a delicious meal at this neighbourhood bistro. The portions were large and the food beautifully flavoured - people particularly liked the beans, the wings, the pulled pork and the smoke chicken. Would definitely recommend- worth making the trip to Harlem if you are not already there.

Had an absolutely wonderful Sunday brunch in this little local gem. We were recommended to try it over the enormously popular Red Rooster who told us he believed the food to be superior and much better value. I have not been to Red Rooster but extremely happy we took his advice. Our party of 6 had a selection of dishes: the crab cakes with hollandaise, 7 cheese macaroni and shrimp dish were real highlights. We matched with a delicious cider. The service could not have been friendlier and more attentive. The restaurant itself is charmingly decorated. Could not rate our wonderful experience more highly. If you are visiting New York the trek uptown is more than worth it.

We recently enjoyed a late lunch at The Boulevard Bistro. This was my second time there this year and I can honestly say that on both occasions I enjoyed the food, the service and the cozy atmosphere. There seem to be lots of food choices popping up around Harlem; the Boulevard Bistro is one of the places that will not disappoint you. It's worth the trip uptown!

Fantastic dining experience for Sunday brunch. We are greeted so warmly by the host and floor manager Kayveon. They both kindly offered to take our small pieces of luggage and store them. I recommend arriving early to minimize waiting. This is a very popular restaurant. Our server Conrad went above and beyond to accommodate our party. The food was delicious. After dining we ordered additional entrees to take on our travels. The DJ was awesome, he creates an environment of joy and happiness. The atmosphere is very cozy and relaxed. Go for the food you will stay for the service and atmosphere. Try the Prosecco and mango for a new twist on mimosa.

On my final day in NY visiting my girlfriend who lives just down the road, we came here for brunch. Although the restaurant was really busy, we were seated quickly at the bar. Great atmosphere, delicious food and excellent service. Zarius was our server at the bar. She clearly loves her job and gave us faultless service!! A breath of fresh air in a terrific NY eating house, when so often service doesnât necessarily come with a smile!! Hats off to all the staff at BLVD Bistro, theyâve got this place right!! And thank you Zarius for looking after us!! On piece of advice, book ahead on the weekend! Itâs very popular! Iâll definitely be back on my next visit.

The food was fantastic; the staff friendly, efficient and helpful. It's a shame we only visited on our last night - I've no doubt we had gone their for our evening meal more often had we gone sooner. As it was we did go for lunch the next day before heading to the airport. It was mega busy on the Saturday lunch visit but the staff were as good as the previous evening so didn't disappoint. Our waitress from the night before even came over to speak to us - which was lovely. Absolutely great place; best place we ate during our week in New York

BLVD is a really cute little bistro/restaurant in the middle of Harlem and is clearly inspired greatly by its neighborhood. The menu features a lot of great, classic options like shrimp & grits or fried chicken, but there are also some more interesting dishes like the smoked chicken which are definitely worth trying! The food feels authentic, and the portions are generous.

We had dinner there Saturday night. There are few superlative descriptors that come to mind in describing the food: SPECTACULAR, MARVELOUS, TREMENDOUS, etc. My main criterion in judging food is whether it's flavorful, and this restaurant passes with flying colors. Not only was there nothing bad, but no dish even approached mediocrity. From the fried okra to shrimp and grits, to ribs, crab soup, turkey meatloaf and even the desserts, it was all sublimely flavorful. We also had a very pleasant Tempranillo which paired quite nicely with most dishes. I can't say enough good things about the food, though part of me wants to keep this to myself so as to avoid too many "invaders." It wouldn't be fair, however, to not share. Aside from the outstanding food, the service was friendly, courteous and quite good and the setting, though smallish, was pleasant and full of character. If I have one criticism, it's that the temperature was quite hot, though corrections were made at our request. After visiting so many overrated and mediocre restaurants, this little gem was a most pleasant surprise. A real treasure to be savored.

I had heard about the wonderful brunch here but we decided to try it for dinner first, and we were not disappointed! The service was exceptionally friendly and the food was especially good. We have traveled widely and we eat out a lot at home in NYC, so it was fun to find a new place that provided extraordinarily good food not far from home. New Yorkers will understand that this is on the 2/3 subway line, very close to the 125th Street stop, and for out-of-towners, that's a quick trip on an express train to a lovely neighborhood, and definitely worth the ride if you're staying in another part of town! As for the food, I had the fresh fish (halibut on this night) with a cornmeal crust and sweet corn succotash - just delicious. The portion was quite large so half of it came home for a second meal. My husband had fried okra for an appetizer and then fried chicken sliders for his main dish-- all excellent. In addition, we received two complimentary buttermilk biscuits before our meal, and they were out of this world. They were so good that we ordered some to take home which I plan to use for strawberry shortcake! The brunch is evidently quite popular and I'm eager to try it, despite the lines I have heard about. At dinner on a weeknight there was no wait so evidently this is still a well-kept secret, but I suspect it won't be for long!

I was in Harlem visiting with a friend for the weekend and she took me to Blvd Bistro for Brunch. The restaurant was small, but had a very welcoming vibe. The server was attentive and made sure we had prompt refills on our drinks. The food was delicious. I had the catfish meal, with cheese grits, eggs, biscuit, and a side of home fries. The grits were so creamy and the home fries were seasoned to perfection. Everything was delicious and I have zero complaints. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to others and I will return the next time I'm in town.

After the host canceled my reservation, and I never received a text. We were finally seated. The waitress was nice but had to many tables at once. The fired chicken was ok but over priced. The best part of the meal was the cornbread sad to say. Donât think I would go back or recommend.

A restaurant needs to do the do for you no matter how big or small. It needs to produce great service, great atmosphere, and of corse, great food. BLVD BISTRO delivered all of them. You are first hit with the great music as you walk in. A great face at the door. Service is top notch from our server. He covered it all. Our kids as well. Each of us enjoyed our meals. From each person at the table. We had more than enough to go around. I had this crazy incredible pork chop. It was not what I expected. The best pork chop I can recall. These guys can cook!! Hands down. I would and will tell my friends and family about this destination for anyone looking for more than just dinner. It is an incredible experience. Thank you.

So, before I visited I read all these great reviews on the food and the service and the chef. I was quite excited to get to this place because I wanted to see what all the hype was about. Upon arrival, the chef was coming out to take pictures with some folks and I thought that was amazing! I was thinking, âItâs off to a good start.â That in itself showed me how invested he is to his customers. I was dining alone so at the rush of Brunch I was told Iâd be seated within 5 minutes and I was. It is a bit tight of a dining spot but I think that is what makes it unique. The decor is also great! Here is where I wasnât so pleased, their servers were nice but you could tell they were either short staffed or overwhelmed. My initial server never came back except for the check and no one ever asked how my food was. I asked for ketchup and it took forever to get that. I also had to hunt someone down to receive another drink. The food was great and the butter with their great biscuits was amazing! My eggs were fluffy and turkey bacon cooked just right. Overall, I am happy the business is in Harlem but some tweaks need to be made on the server/staff side.

We went to the new location of this restaurant and werenât disappointed. The shrimp and grits are the best I ever had and nothing short of addictive. The peach macadamia nut pancakes were fluffy with a nice side of marscapone with the compote unlike most, not syrupy, just fresh slices of the fruit barely cooked. The crab cake Benedict was so delicious. Love the new decor, so open and light filled and different than the dark, below street level former location.

New restaurant is spacious and comfortable. Had one of the best biscuit ever. Chef is friendly as well. Would recommend visiting.

I grew up on Soul Food. Real Soul Food. I've seen our food mishandled and misrepresented for years. But THANK GOODNESS for this new spot! They get the food right and had successfully introduced a modest upgrade to the Soul Food table. Tracy was the server, host, busboy and best part of my meal, second only to the food! If you're going to Harlem and want to taste REAL SOUL FOOD with great service, this is the place!! Another fun fact, I do NOT like Sweet Tea. But I LOVE the Boulevard Sweet Tea concoction. It's not overly sweet and a nice kick from the Club Soda. A nice new take on a tradition.

We have come here a dozen times! Meesha says they've the best biscuits in NYC - and being from Texas, she should know. Brunch is divine, the fried chicken fantastic, and the atmosphere and staff lovely.

The shrimp dish was really really enjoyed by those that ordered it. Very friendly service . Portions not too overwhelming which was nice. We sat outside which we liked as it was quieter.

Walked into this place one night to try it out as it seemed to have some good energy. We stood for 5-10 minutes in the entryway just waiting for someone to acknowledge us. Waiters, waitresses, busboys, they all walked right by studiously ignoring us. A place that cannot even be bothered to greet it's customers and make sure they're being taken care of probably doesn't give a lick about their food either. A simple 'welcome, has someone helped you yet' is all it takes, you should NEVER walk by a potential customer waiting in their coats at your front door and outright ignore them, it's rude and it's no place I want to eat.

Love this place! Food is always tasty and service is excellent. We ordered a carafe of the Blood Orange Mimosas (delicious). The grits are to die for. Friends were visiting from Cali and they loved the Fried Chicken, Okra and Yams.

Great local restaurant, always consistent food and service. Normally packed for brunch but you can walk in at night. Friendly staff and tasty food.

sad sad story with this restaurant. we made a reservation well before our NY trip. on the day of our reservation the restaurant called to tell us "they had had an expected event and they hd to chg our reservation to 7:30 or so." they cd not tell us exactly when a table wd be available. we cd come at 7 for "A free drink" and "wait for our table." unbelievable. the owner did call as well but who cares at that point? we were never told the why of this regrettable, awful situation. we will never recommend this restaurant and so glad we hv the opportunity to share our story on yr site.

Nestled in the street level floors of a Harlem brownstone sits Blvd Bistro waiting to fill you up and give you something delicious to talk about. The interior is cozy, comfortable and warm and reminded me of being at home. Brunch is scrumptious and offered a nice variety to choose from. My table ordered the banana pancakes with lots pecans- great portion, the egg white omelette with cheese (don't ask) was great and yours truly had the shrimp and grits with jalapeĂąo. STOP.THE.MADNESS!! It was AMAZING!! The cheese grits were were creamy, the shrimp were artfully displayed and what I appreciated about this dish was the fact that I could substitute the pork bacon for turkey bacon. Can you hear the harps play? I did!! It was different, there was no gravy, but the creaminess/moistness of the grits and the fire from the jalapeĂąos gave me more than enough to handle. Our sever Jasmine was personable, on point and professional. The manager Charles with the perfect teeth came over to greet us and made sure that all was well and to top it all off I asked if the Chef would be available to come to our table and guess what? Chef Swepson came out to greet us with a smile, was front and center and even obliged us with a photo op. Old school music playing in the background, inviting surroundings and happy food.... What else is there? When in Harlem go to Blvd Bistro. Not in Harlem? Change your itinerary ASAP and make a reservation. You're welcome!

Food and service were great. The waiters were attentive, never did we feel like we were forgotten. Love when service is on point. Food was also great, fresh and didn't last long to receive it, always a plus. I guess my only concern about the venue was, because its a tiny venue, seating can become tricky. We were seated with another couple on a table of four. I mean, it didn't bother me because we were seated right away and it didn't bother us to be seated with another couple. Just know, your conversation won't be private. Close to comfort. Overall, great brunch spot.

We had a tasty brunch of fried catfish and fried chicken at this casual (almost hidden) spot. The seating is tight and the place seems popular. Service was friendly. Recommend it.

This tiny bistro located in a Harlem brownstone is a welcome stop in a tour of a wonderful neighborhood of churches and restored brownstones. The food and staff are worth braving the crowd and noisy ambiance of the southern food haven. Return visits live up to all the memories of the fried chicken and catfish as well as the professional service provided by the staff in making all of their hungry patrons happy.

I recently visited Blvd Bistro this past weekend July 23, 2023. I made a reservation because , it was my mate birthday and we had just furnished moving furniture from one location to another, and definitely needed to take a break. The atmosphere was very crowded and reservation was made for 7:15 pm. We were seated promptly and ordered about 15 mins into being seated.. After almost what seem liked one hour the owner approached us to tell us that the two entrees was not available but only for one person. I then purchased another substitute to other item in the menu. It was disappointing to say the least, but we finished our dinner and and requested the tab.. To my surprise the item was was no longer was still on the tab which I requested to be removed, prior to that the waiter had stated he was no told by the owner that the dinner preferred was no longer and he apologized.. I check the tablet and asked that he correct and he did and showed me the new amount I signed and left. I look at my credit card purchase in my back a few days later and saw I was charged more for our dinner . I am truly upset because I paid the waiter cash tip and to see that this place is not honest, I will not be suggesting this place. I reach out and left a message and the host Patricia said that the manager would call me back, days later and I have not receive a call as yet.. This is very dishonest and should be a shame if this behavior

I must say I am a tough critic of places that have southern cuisine when they are not actually southern but what I had was pretty tasty. I came for brunch and I have to admit I stayed away from the shrimp and grits just because it's hard to beat shrimp and grits from my home state (SC). We had to share a table with 2 other people and they claimed the were the best in new York but I just couldn't lol. I had the blueberry pancakes and my mom had the banana pecan pancakes and they were absolutely lovely. It was like eating buttermilk clouds and I could have seriously floated away they were very nice. I would definitely go back.

So, where should I start?! We (my mom, husband, 7-year-old and myself) arrived for our 6pm Thanksgiving reservations and were told there were no seats available. The hostess suggested that we sit at the bar on stools. We told her it was unacceptable solution. We also mentioned that we PAID ($51.50) for reservations â which means they should have seats available for us in the dining room! Her response âeveryone here has reservations, so you can sit on the stool our wait until another table finishes their meal.â This should have been a foreshadowing of what was to come. My mom saw an empty table in the middle of the dining room with 3 chairs. She asked them to add another chair so we could sit there. Our waitress came 20 mins later. We placed our drink order and she said she would return with our biscuits and take our Thanksgiving prefix order. 20 mins later she returned with our drinks â but she still didnât bring our biscuits or salads. She the salad was coming, and a pan of biscuits was baking and would be available shortly. 15 mins later, a manager (older man) came over and said the short ribs we ordered ran out so they would make us ribeye steak instead. I knew that would take some time to make, so I asked them to bring out the Turkey dinner for my mom and son because everyone was starving at this point. 10 minutes later, the same manager returned and said they âfoundâ two short rib meals. That alone gave us pause â you âfoundâ two more!!! At this point, still no biscuits. Our waitress said âItâs comingâŚâ obviously annoyed with me asking again. The salad was good, however, the serving we all received (4 people) added up the ONE (1) serving based on what we saw at other tables. We realized they may be running out of food, and we were now paying the price. Our food finally came out and my husband and I were immediately irate. The short ribs meal was so salty, it was not edible. My husband has high cholesterol and was in the hospital for it last year, so we would never eat that. To make matters worse, the sharable sides they placed on the table were ONLY enough for one person. We saw what was placed on other tables â THREE OF EACH!!! They gave a table of 4 one each. I complained to our waitress. She gave a BS response and that irritated me even more. I told her we saw what other tables received, so we would prefer her to be honest instead of placating us!!! I saw a white couple behind us, and they didnât look happy. I saw the table of six next to us and they were not happy. That table of six proceeded to share this disappointment, so we knew we were not the problem â I asked for the manager at this point. Another manager (younger man) came over, and listen to my valid complaint. I talked about the table situation, not receiving any biscuits at this point, salad scraps, sides that would never feed 4, and salty food. He acknowledged that the short ribs were salty because all tables were complaining. I asked him âwhy would you serve this to us if you knew it was not worthy to serve anyone!!!! He said for our trouble, we would remove the $51.50 deposit (which was not deducted from our bill but in addition to our bill!). I told him that was unacceptable. He then said he would take off 25% of our total bill. I asked him to send over our waitress so we can place our dessert order TO GO. Our waitress came 15 mins later and said âwe apologize, we ran out of biscuits so we donât have any to give you.â I said, âwe knew you ran out over an hour ago. We also saw that the white couple and Asian couple that came in after us got their food first, including their biscuits and desert. We came here to support our black people and you treated us like second-class citizens.â She brushed off what I said and place a small to-go container on the table. The content looked like scraps of food from the bottom of a tray. It was the last of the cobbler. I told her we did not want that â that is not the dessert we wanted to order as part of the prefix â we wanted two sweet potato pies and two chocolate cakes. She looked at me with a straight face and said, âwe ran out of dessert â this is all that we have." I immediately told her to call her manager over or we would walk out of there and file a complaint. 10 minutes later, the older manager came and said âI called the owner. She said you can leave everything on the table and leave!â I was taken aback by this aggression â the other tables were as well. We had the worst dining experience of our lives, and the accountable party made us feel like we were the villains. We were livid! I grabbed our coats and walked out. Another manager came over to my husband and tied to apologize â while the other managers were standing in a corner shooting my husband the evilest looks. You were all terrible people last night. You ruined our experience. We will NEVER return. We will NEVER recommend it. We will always have disdain for this establishment. And we are profoundly disappointed because supporting black is what we love to do. We are disappointed in your lack of accountability, humility, and understanding. Such a shame!

Needed something close to the Apollo for dinner before a show. This wonderful little place fit the bill perfectly! First and most important - right after you order they bring out the biscuits with honey butter....sooo delicious! I had the sangria (only beer and wine here) with the cornmeal crusted grouper and veggies. Absolutely wonderful! Husband had Spiked Iced Tea, shrimp and corn chowder and pulled pork sandwich. Very happy!! Nice staff and atmosphere plus all of my favorite 70's soul, funk and Motown playing. Go!

We went to Boulevard Bistro on the recommendation of a friend, before a show at The Apollo. Because of subway troubles we arrived close to 45 minutes after our scheduled reservation, leaving us only about 40 minutes to eat. Though the restaurant was crowded and our original reservation had (rightly) been given away, the hostess was very understanding of our situation and not only seated us right away but also gave us recommendations for what would be ready in the time we had. We ended up getting a few appetizers to share (the kale salad and the chicken biscuits - both incredible. And the biscuits on the side with the (I think) sugarcane butter -- to die for!) and went to our show on time, full, and happy! We were very appreciative of how accommodating the staff at Boulevard Bistro was and will definitely be back when we are in Harlem! Do note: we tried to call several times and no one picked up the phone so if you need to make a reservation, definitely do it online!

We visited during the old ownership and food was average. Heard someone new took over and revamped the menu. Finally got there and the place was pretty crowded for an April midweek night. Our food was fine. Tasty but needed a little extra of something to make it even better. I think they are still working on the menu. Friendly staff.

Visited on a Sunday after church for brunch and it was crowded with a 30 minute wait. The place itself is not very spacious so the wait was to be expected. The nice part was the location is within 1-2 blocks of several other cafes and restaurants where you can grab a quick drink while you wait. We were seated at a riser table next to another couple but with enough distance to have private conversations. The service was average, however the food was excellent. I ordered the biscuit sandwiches after seeing how good someone else's order looked however everything coming out of the kitchen looked appetizing. The drinks were also excellent. I would definitely return.

Ok let me just say this as food critic "Foodie on Duty"....when you stay ready you don't have to get and that is what Blvd Bristro in Harlem did. "READY". The collards, fried chicken, Catfish, potato salad, shrimp and grits were well seasoned and tasty. The mac-n-cheese was better than Hell"s Kitchen...just saying. Auntie must have made it. The atmosphere was live. Felt like I was at a party. Staff was very accommodating especially Chef Carlos.

My Lady and I drove into Harlem for our first Sunday Brunch at BLVD. The restaurant, itself, is small. I estimate indoor capacity to be 35-36 seats and outdoor capacity 15-16 seats. The place was noisy, seating had close arrangement, Gospel music was blasting and there was a hustle bustle atmosphere. My Lady ordered blueberry pancakes that she said melted in her mouth. She especially noted the slight crust around the edges of the pancakes. Without hesitation she told me that those were the best blueberry pancakes sheâd ever had. I ordered the Shrimp nâ Grits that came with a biscuit. The biscuit was superb as was the Shrimp n Grits that had bacon, cheese, and jalapeĂąo. This ranks amongst the best shrimp nâ grits and best biscuit Iâve eaten. Service was simply excellent! This was a great day for us in Harlem. If you try BLVD, you wonât be disappointed.

This small basement apt of a brown stone turned Soul Food restaurant is good food - make a reservation or expect to wait for brunch - the greens were really good

Delicious dinner. Started with the fried chicken sliders which were fresh hot and delicious. I had the Blvd combo which had catfish, greens and potato salad. While the whole meal was wonderful I could have eaten a large bowl of greens and been very happy! My sister had the equally flavorful turkey meatloaf with garlic mash and broccoli. The staff was super friendly and attentive.

This cosy, intimate restaurant should not be missed. I had the catfish and grits with a homemade biscuit that was almost worth the trip to New York all by itself - it really was that good! My wife had the breakfast biscuits and she was also impressed and would highly recommend that too.

Very nice place for a breakfast or lunch/dinner. Very friendly staff, and very good food. We had a BLVD CHEESEBURGER and a BISQUIT SANDWICH. If you're going through Harlem, pop in.

my beautiful girl an I enjoyed our brunch there a few weeks back. Food and cocktails were delicious. The lovely Mia served us and was so friendly and gave us some great recommendations. All the staff were very friendly. We had planned a full day out in NY and this was perfect way to start the day

Joined BLVD Bistro again and each time not surprised with the quality and consistency of the food. Was greeted by the chef and Owner, nice touch. Warm setting and friendly staff. Will definitely be going back.

Came with friends and family for dinner tonight. Reviews looked good and wanted to try their soul food. Our party of 11 ordered a few appetizers and an entree each. Everyone received their dinner fairly quickly but my ribs didn't come out. They knew there was an order of ribs that didn't come out but it didn't speed anything up. At one point the waiter said it would be another four minutes but that never materialized. As my party was finishing up their dinner I asked for my dinner to go and would like to have it comped. The waiter checked with the manager and said she would take off our appetizers ($27) but not the dinner ($36). Finally the difference came in to go containers over if which was a side of beans which you can see below. Totally not worth the money and obviously management does not care to make up for their poor service. Would absolutely never return.

We loved this placed. It was just around the corner from where we stayed, mostly locals, very lively place and as mentioned above: GREAT FOOD!

Omlete looked like less then 2 eggs, very small. Side of collards less then a cup for $7.00, mac n cheese, sorry. Good service, food OK, but too pricey for portion size. Will not go back.

Came across this place while staying in Harlem and opted to try it out since it was one of few that opened early. Small space but we were the second party to arrive so seating was quick. The food was amazing though the portions were so large I could have fed two people with the biscuit sandwiches i ordered. Also ordered the cheesy grits and was blown away. I usually don't like grits that aren't homemade but these were delicious. If you aren't coming during off hours or right when they open be prepared for a long (but well worth it) wait.

We went for brunch, and the place was abslolutely heaving, which is always a good sign - the food was fabulous, The biscuits and fried chicken were perfect. Everything was , great - The vibe in here is good - it's noisy, busy, quite dark but that adds to it.

Brunch was wonderful at Blvd Bistro located at 239 Lenox Avenue. We started off having biscuits and sausage gravy and coffee. I had the blueberry pancakes and I swear they tasted like cake with a blueberry compote on top. The other guests at the table had fried chicken sliders, apple wood bacon biscuit sandwich and an egg white veggie omelet.

Tiny place partially below ground level. Very friendly and efficient service. My dinner partner and I both got the shrimp and grits, and both loved it! Enough spice that I loved it, and my husband would have been downing the water. Only complaint would be the volume of the music - a little challenge for conversation.

Had lunch here today, and it was perfect. The facility is both stylish and cozy, the service is prompt and attentive, and the food! My husband had the fried chicken basket, which includes some of the best biscuits I've ever tasted. The chicken was just as good, crisp on the outside and juicy on the inside--just perfect. I ordered the "shrimp boy," comprising golden-brown fried shrimp and lovely slaw served on a toasted roll straight from heaven. It was just as delicious as it sounds, and it came with some of the best potato salad I've ever tasted, heavy on the mustard and with fresh chopped parsley. I seriously loved everything about this place and look forward to returning on future visits.

My husband and I went to the Blvd Bistro, owned by chef Carlos Swepson and his sister Joi Swepson, for dinner and had the chicken dinner which came with "light as a feather" biscuits. It was delicious! We liked the food so much that we went back for Sunday Brunch and had the Eggs Benedict crab cakes and a biscuit sandwich with turkey bacon. That was excellent also. What enhanced the dining experience was the professionalism and charm of Charles Pugh, the General Manager. He made menu recommendations and treated us so well that we will come back again and again. Both meals were a delightful dining experience!

BLVD is always crowded with good reason! We went for brunch on a Sunday afternoon, and even with reservations, we waited for a while to get into the restaurant. It was definitely worth the wait! We started with mimosas which were made very well, then we ordered our meal. I am not usually a fan of grits, but through my daughter's recommendation, I decided to try the shrimp and grits. We also ordered biscuits for the table. That meal was memorable. The grits were creamy, cheesy, and so flavorful. The shrimp were cooked perfectly. Everyone at the table raved about their food. I did find it a bit expensive, but it is NYC and the food was fabulous. We are waiting for another occasion to visit there again! I highly recommend this restaurant!!

Just arrived from Austin, Texas yesterday and was delighted by BLVD Bistroâs Shrimp & Grits for brunch today. This dish outshines all the shrimp & grits dishes I have had from North Carolina to Florida & all those along the Gulf Coast.

chicken fried in old oil dark and burnt, meatloaf super dry ... never again , worst experience ever !

I live in Brooklyn and was recommended to come to this place for brunch by a tour guide. Going to Harlem is quite the trip when you live as far as I do. However, this place is awesome! It's right underneath a beautiful brownstone and the ambiance is so cozy. Every single person who works there was so pleasant and attentive. We even got to meet the chef who made our bangin' 7 cheese Mac n cheese and my delicious organic sunny side up eggs with a fluffy biscuit, home fries and bacon. Just thinking about it is making me salivate lol. I would definitely make the trip out to Harlem again to visit this place. Also, prices were much more reasonable than the surrounding restaurants in the area. Truly a one of a kind experience coming here.

I had tried the shrimp and grits back in May 2016 during the Harlem Eat Up and came back through a 2 hour drive to get it again and it was just as I remember. Delicious! No kid menu though so be prepared. Our waitress was very pleasant.

We had a great brunch here last weekend. Small energetic room with AWESOME people. They were so welcoming! We thought that we were the only folks in the restaurant! Great food at reasonable prices and huge portions! Don't miss the bread basket as a starter for brunch. The catfish special was awesome as were the egg and biscuit sandwiches. GO!

BLVD is easy and delicious. We wanted to stay local tonight so made a short notice reservation. It was perfect. We were seated right away and all of our dishes were tasty. I think we will go back again for brunch.

Booked a table for Sunday brunch (booking essential at this time) and we werenât disappointed! Great atmosphere with a DJ - not at all too loud and our server was ace! She really looked after us. We shared the French toast and blueberry pancakes and I have to say they were amazing! Probably the best meal I had in NYC. Highly recommend but please book.

We made brunch reservations prior to arriving. We were seated immediately, the staff is friendly and most importantly the food was absolutely delicious. My husband had the catfish & grits, my son ordered pa cakes and I had the crap cake benedict. I tasted their and not one complaint. The location is easy to get to in Harlem. Also try the spiked ice tea.

This is a good find. I wouldn't say it advertises itself brilliantly which is why only 15 reviews to date I would say but I concur with the vast majority of reviewers and give it top marks. Rather than go to a tourist trap for soul food give this one on Malcolm X boulevard a try. The waitress and chef were both really friendly. The rack of ribs (which we shared - don't attempt alone unless you haven't eaten for weeks) was excellent. Meat falling off the bone and a tangy barbecue sauce served with baked beans and corn on the cob. We had sugar hill beer - a local brew to wash it down. Highly recommended

What a find! Shrimp over cheese grits and homemade biscuit. Family owned, lovely service. Has patio for great people watching

After waiting 45 minutes to be seated, it took another 20 minutes to place our order and 30 minutes after that to get the food. Good wasnât bad but was expecting better from the reviews. Donât recommend unless youâve got several hours and a lot of patience.

I went here for lunch with friends and I am disappointed I didnât find this place until the end of my trip. We didnât have a long wait before we were seated. There was one hostess covering every table but she got to everyone quickly and kept things moving. Ordered the fried chicken sliders which was good. One of my friends ordered the grits which were so outstanding we had to order an extra side for the table. Also tried the BLVD spiked tea which was really good.

My wife and I just had an excellent lunch at this bistro (also called BLVD Bistro) located off 122nd Street in Harlem. The service and servers were perfect. Very personable, knowledgeable and friendly. We ate outside under a large umbrella. A good menu with many choices of soul and southern food. I enjoyed their red Sangria with lots of ice. The Catfish Po Boy sandwich and the Fried Chicken sliders were tasty, filling and quality fillings. The food came reasonably quickly and the server asked later if we enjoyed our meal. Yes, for sure! If you are up in Harlem give this restaurant a chance. It is slightly below street level which is sweet.

It's the grits and biscuits for me!!! I've heard so many GREAT things about this restaurant and finally got a chance to try it and I'm glad I did. During a stay in NYC I dined here for brunch, and it was everything! After perusing the menu, l opted for the jumbo shrimp and grits (my mouth is watering as I write this). The grits were heavenly, some of the best l've ever had. And the shrimp were huuuuge and delicious. The dish also came with a biscuit that was out of this world. The service was great and staff went above and beyond.

This was the second time we have eaten at Blvd during a visit to NYC and hopefully won't be the last! The brunch (which they start serving pretty early on the weekends at 9 am -- a plus!) was delicious. We had the breakfast sandwiches (yummy -- the homemade biscuits were incredibly light and flakey) and cheesy grits (oh so yummy). I had their Blvd Mary which is a kind of beer Bloody Mary (michelada) with their homemade Bloody Mary mix and it was also special -- not too salty as a lot of Bloodys are. Fantastic atmosphere, friendly service, great meal...thanks!

2nd time here. I came last year . They are consistently amazing. I came this time on a Saturday at 12pm for brunch and made a reservation on Yelp to ensure we got a table. We were running behind on reservation due to waiting on a taxi from Manhattan but they accommodated our party of 4 quickly and shorter than the estimated 15 min wait time. I got the bacon egg and cheese biscuits. I'm picky about biscuits but their recipe is unmatched. Courteous wait staff and hostess. Prices are same as like a Cheesecake Factory but it's quality food and cuisine with quality products and preparation.I will always come here when in town.đ they make is so yummy!! I was visiting NYC with my husband and we met some friends here for lunch on a Wednesday around 1pm. Totally recommend this place...

Ate at this Bistro with family while visiting Harlem. Oh. My. Goodness. The food was soooo good. I mean everything we ordered was good. Our group of four ordered Blueberry pancakes and bacon: catfish and grits; hash brown skillet with eggs and bacon; and chicken and biscuits. All of our food was cooked deliciously. The pancakes and biscuits melted in your mouth. Per my sister, the grits were cheesy melt in your mouth good. The Catfish was cooked to perfection with a delicious biscuit. I highly recommend paying the two extra dollars for the blueberry compote for your pancakes. Our server, Conrad was very hospitable and warm. He helped us decide on our food. He even obliged and took pics for us. The food came out quickly and was good and hot. The condiments (maple butter, syrup, hot sauce) were in ramekins on the side. I have nothing negative to say. Check it out.

My bestie and I come here all the time. It's our favorite place to have brunch in NYC. The food is flavorful and made with love. Biscuits are a specialty. If you'd like a drink on Sunday's, arrive at or after noon. Do listen, promise you will enjoy!

First time visiting USA, I was astonished at how busy the restaurant and there was a long queue to get a table but it was worth the wait. The baby back ribs and pan fried chicken is thee best ever. Definitely going to return.

Table timing issueâŚmixed messaging. Does table time start when seated or when food arrive. I deliberately set timer to ensure we were respectful of âNEWâ, table timing. I have been an advocate and supporter of this business from day one. Experience today was extremely disappointing and inconsistent with previous experience. Acting Mgr. Kevion on 5/26 during 3pm seating was HORRIBLE. He approached table @ 1 hour mark for us to depart because table was needed. We recorded time from food deliveryâŚper the message conveyed by the DJ twice. The Acting Mgr approach was inappropriate, alarming and unsatisfactory. He proceeded to antagonize us by following us, spelled his name to us and argued with us as a result of his BAD behavior. It was the worse experience with a $754.00 price tag, table of six. It is critical to have people represent your business in the same manner as the Owners. #LET HIM GOâŚNOT GOOD FOR BUSINESS

With so many great restaurants in the area, this one is IMO average and overpriced. Especially for brunch

I love this place! I love the food and the connection of people here. I eat here when in town visiting my niece who lives in Harlem. I've never been for brunch but hear it's the best in the city. I've had dinner here twice in the past 8 months. You'll want to make reservations since it's a choice dining place and a "go to" dining destination even if you aren't in the Harlem area. You'll start with a warm basket of biscuits with honey butter. For starters, try the fried okra. Add a mason jar of iced tea, made with sparkling water. Here's where it gets difficult...There are many main courses worth your tummy's investment. I've had or personally tasted the following: Turkey Meatloaf (Put meatloaf back into your life!) -- Moist and really flavorful Shrimp and Grits -- Flavor with a spicy kick from the grits. You can substitute the shrimp for catfish. Either way wins. Seven Cheese Macaroni -- My son wanted to make sure this made my list of recommendations. It's a sizable portion and enough for a couple of kids to share. Double Cut Pork Chop -- It's huge and cooked perfectly. The meat is moist and seasoned well. Barbeque Babyback Ribs -- Another hit...It's wet seasoned, tangy, and on the sweeter side Cajun T-boned Steak -- My teen loved this as it was big, bold, and spicy Fried Catfish dinner -- not on the menu, but can be accommodated Smoky pan-roasted chicken -- Emphasis on smoky. It's really tasty and the smokiness makes it different from your typical roasted chicken. Love the sides too -- Favs are greens, garlic mashed potatoes, and black eyed peas and andouille Desserts -- I loved the banana bread pudding and the apple cobbler was great. We ordered a few of each and shared around the table. You'll love this restaurant. It's great to get away from the hustle and bustle of the rest of the city and have a relaxing and fun dining experience with local New Yorkers. So why only 4 stars -- The pan fried chicken which takes 20 minutes is good, but was a bit over fried so until that's perfect, only 4 stars.

Best shrimp and grits ever!!! The grits are cheesy and flavourful Beyond words. The biscuits are to die for- best I've ever had! They are so unique with the best sweet butter in the planet. Their fried chicken is also not to be missed. I'd go back in a heart beat!

Small-ish place, maybe 40 seats. Though busy, staff were very friendly, attentive, and likeable. We ordered a range of dishes off the brunch menu; all were well prepared and delicious. Condiments were interestingly presented and included a seriously hot sauce I'd not seen before. Coffee was very good. The chef/owner stopped by to chat and talked about some of the local original art displayed. Though busy we did not feel rushed.

This is definitely one of my favorite brunch places in NYC. The food is plentiful and really good; the atmosphere is a bit trendy but not overly so. Parking can be a challenge on weekends and the new location is easy to find. There is always a serious wait and you must have reservations on the weekend or you can forget getting a table.

4 adults and 2 children (8 and 6) went for Sunday brunch. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The blueberry pancakes, fried chicken and biscuits and crab cake Benedict were all excellent, the pumpkin pancakes (special for the season) were as advertised, but a bit on the sweet side, and the omelette was perfectly prepared. We tried a side of collard greens cooked with smoked turkey, which were tasty but a bit salty. The restaurant space is small, so a reservation at busy times is probably advisable. We hadnât made a reservation and had a 10 minute wait. We look forward to going back and trying their lunch and dinner menus.

I wish I could have the biscuits. Eggs bacon and home fries were great. Everything made to order of course. Very friendly ambiance. Will come back for sure.
Delicious food, INCREDIBLY SLOW SERVICE
My boyfriend and I have been here twice. The food is delicious (which is why we gave it a second try) but with that being said, the service is INCREDIBLY slow. The first time we went there, after sitting for 20 minutes I had to go find our server to get some water. Then, after we ordered we waited for OVER an hour for our food to show up. Right as she set the food down I requested the check because I was trying to get out of there. 25 minutes later she gave us the check. Now, I work in the restaurant industry and I can understand a wait but I could also tell that our waitress KNEW how long food was taking to come out and was scared to come back by the table because she thought we would be mad. If she had just let us know what was happening when we sat down we could have decided to stay or not and would have understood the situation. The table next to us had been waiting forever as well and right AFTER she set down their check, their biscuits (that they had ordered as a side) came out. The food was delicious but come on!! They didn't even comp us anything, like not even a free drink. So a few months later we decide to give it another try. Again, amazingly slow service (not as bad as the first time) bomb food. I'd love to give this place a better review but I will probably never go back and would only suggest trying this place out if you're not hungry and are willing to wait over an hour for food.
