Restaurant with plenty of different options, everything tasted great, friendly cashier and affordable. Definitely a great halal place.

Consistency

By Ralph M |

Was here last in May 2023, came back 2 years later in May 2025 and the food still tasty and flavorful authentic and rich. B & D still maintains its consistency on food production. The downside is they need a AC unit running in the restaurant. The restaurant environment is warm and unpleasant to sit and eat. Overall still a 8.8/10

Delicious. Enough said.

Right, I am not an expert of West African food. In fact this was the first time I had eaten it, but the food was undoubtedly delicious. It was fresh, full of flavor and most of all- different. The sweet chicken was really good, alongside the different types of curry, it was just unique. They also had the football on (Manchester United), so that made my day.

Finally! West African Food!

It's a buffet style array of African cuisine for you to pick from. Each meal is priced by weight but it's worth it. Staff are very friendly. If it's your first time there, it's best to eat in to try bits of everything on a big plate, then later on order take out because it can get crowded in that small space and at times noisy.

Took Forever To Pay For My Food

This small buffet style spot has really good tasting food on the buffet daily. Great Oxtail, Curry Goat, Lamb and all the Halal favorites. The only real problem I have had at this location ( and I have been twice recently - just went today as well). The person handling the weighing of the food and executing the cash register needs assistance during their most busy hours. New customers, like myself will be reluctant to visit the location during lunch hours because we know the payment line will be far too long and can take 10 minutes to simply pay for lunch. It was very funny when I told the cashier his lines are too long. His responce to me was "Well our current clientele are.." At this poit I simply HAD to stop him in his tracks. The problem with many businesses is that they fail to realize the importance of handling customers quickly. I will not eat at this place if lines are too long. I will not recommend the place if lines are too long. Now multiply that by me telling 20-30 people what a great place this is and those 20 - 30 persons going to that particular establishment say 3- 4 times each month. That is a maximum of 30x4 persons of $15.00 (average lunch) = 120 covers a120 x $15.00 = $1,800.00 Now take those 30 people who are satisfied customers and calculate those persons telling 4- 5 people about this great place for lunch ...... ( the numbers can truly be astronomical when you think about it. This is the problem when businesses underestimate the power of satisfying the customer's needs. businesses that fail to see the big picture in the small things are destined to remain small or eventually close completely. One other thing. i asked the cashier for salt and pepper, and he looked below the desk and pulled out a whole canister full of salt and pepper packets and asked me " how many I wanted and reached into the canister as if the salt and pepper were GOLD and he has been told by the owners to "use it very sparingly" IT"S SALT!!!! ITS PEPPER! Put it out so customers can get to it easy without further bothering the one cashier you do have (further slowing him down from expediting the line of customers. This place needs good management if they want me to keep coming back or referring hotel guests at the various properties I handle in the nyc hotel industry.

Great food, great variety, no frills!

This is a buffet style African food restaurant with an array of dishes from almost all the African countries. You serve your drive, get your food weighed and enjoy. It’s hard to mention all the different dishes, but I encourage you to try it! I wish there was a standard fee per person to just eat. It’s a bit inconveniencing waiting to weigh your dish every time you get another round. And I wish there was some type of decor on the walls, other than that- food is great!

Okay in taste

Okay in taste and can be tried once...but go to Lexington Av and you will find host of good options.

Authentic African Cuisine

As usual N.Y never fails to impress with diversity when it comes to food. This restaurant serves a wide selection of food items spread out on a buffet station mostly from Senegal and probably Nigeria. But it is home made food, full of flavors, tasty, hot and definitely freshly made. We loved it very much. This place is solid and outstanding. The restaurant needs to continuous improvement on cleanliness and they need to place food labels on there various food items. Otherwise we’ll definitely be back when in NY next to play the wheel of nameless foods. 8.8/10
