Gem in Harlem

By burgundyboo28 |

From the first time I dined here, I have been a loyal customer going on to a year. The service is great always greeted with a warm smile and welcoming attitude. Ambiance is comfortable, warm and cozy. Food is delicious and served at perfect time. Pizza freshly made in a gorgeous brick oven, meals seasoned perfectly and served hot, appetizers perfect for sharing, drinks prepared just for you and plenty of specials and dishes that cater to all palettes. Music adds on a great affect to enjoy company, food and drinks. Bartenders are friendly and attentive ensuring you are satisfied. Another major bonus I appreciate is that they have no distractions such as televisions..it forces you to engage and enjoy your meal over conversations as one should do..keep is classic. Please make your way to this gem in Harlem for afterwork, brunch, events, meetings, just because and to have a nice time with great food in a great place..you won't be disappointed!!!! P.S. delivery is offered and arrives early!

Great Little Restaurant!

By jlkkshic |

Met some friends for dinner on a warm April evening. Although the doors were open, it was very warm inside, and quite crowded. The seating is very close together, which didn't help with the heat! The service was good. The food was better! Not a large selection to choose from. We ordered a few different pizzas, a Calzone, and two different Pasta dishes, Orecchiette, and Paccheri. The food was very good. The wait was a bit long, but we were in no hurry. While in Harlem, it is a must try!

excellent food, wine and service!

By carnabyrock |

Lots of very good restaurants to choose from uptown in Harlem on Lenox and the 120"s. without reading a review we took a chance with this Italian restaurant and loved our experience. Very friendly attentive service, creative menu and a warm comfortable ambience. You cant go wrong here. The wine and cocktails and food all flowed together with the end result of a very fine dinner.

Nice italian place, good pizza & friendly staff

By TelmarkOS |

An italian restaurant with an actual italian staff. We talked one of the owners. She is from puglia and we went the for holiday last year. The kids wanted to go for pizza so we all ordered pizza. As a starter we had calamari and polpetti. Both good dishes. The kids really liked the pizza margerita. Is was a nice thin pizza as we like them to be. A bottle of Valpolicella (red wine) and the meal was complete. Good, solid italian dinner & wine. We were seated next to the woodoven which is always fun for the kids.

Good italian food

Ordered from There couple of times, food always was good. I like their lasagna and pizzas. Will definitely visit again

AWESOMENESS!

By JohnRussellCox |

I was was privileged to have dinner there before seeing Escape to Margaritaville on Broadway. Amazing restaurant in Harlem! Great service and incredible pizza. I got to meet the owners Christy and Andrew Lopresto - they were very nice. One of the pizzas had escargot as a topping - it blew me away! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!!!!!!!

Just great

By Tlmo84 |

We stopped here to have a beer and something to eat. We sit at the bar and ordered Moretti. After we asked for an IPA beer stronger than Moretti. Service was really really friendly till the point that we even had chats with them. They have wood oven so we asked for pizza at the end but they have no just pizza! Menu looked good! Pizza was great! Also the beer. Frozen glasses to enjoy a really cold one! They also make cocktails.

Can't go wrong

By ZSA |

By far the best restaurant on Lenox in its vicinity. Skip the Red Rooster, Corner Social and the rest. And try the short rib lasagna!

Great food and service.

By wlmh2018 |

Awesome cocktails and wood-fired pizzas. And service was exceptional. An all-around wonderful experience.

Great Italian restaurant in Harlem NYC

With my family we had a great lunch in this friendly Italian restaurant. Highly recommended if you walk around in Harlem neighborhood.

Decent Italian grub

By Mez P |

My husband and I were here for dinner in mid-October. We decided on sharing a whole range of anitpasti plates. We had the calamari fritti, polpettine and the pan fried mushrooms. The wine list was decent and our choices were good ones. The service was excellent and the staff pretty attentive without being fussy or annoying. The food was decent, but I have a few suggestions. Two of the dishes were good but not amazing and, with a few minor tweaks, could be awesome. The calamari fritti came with a spicy and yummy home made tomato sauce, which rather overpowered the calamari. The calamari should not only be the star of the dish, but their sweetness shouldn't be drowned out by the excellent sauce. All they really needed was a little acidity from a lemon wedge and voila, a really good dish. The polpettine were a little on the dry side, but if you added the sauce from the calamari dish...yummy!! So there are my little tweaks. However the star dish was the pan fried mushrooms. Sounds boring right? Nup. The mushrooms were perfectly pan fried and sitting atop a beautifully creamy wet polenta, with ample butter and cheese. Paired with my pinot noir, I was in umami heaven. I'd come back for the mushrooms and the pinot noir.

Nestled Right In

I wasn’t expecting much from the kitchen at this tiny Italian in Harlem. I was at Babbalucci at the tail end of a long and arduous day, flying out from SLC to NYC, fueled by too many over poured cocktails. Tomorrow is another long flight to Paris. The bartender was warm and friendly, and if not for the impending trip to the “city of lights,” I could have spent all night at Babbalucci. My pasta was cooked perfectly, al dente, with just the right amount of sauce. The pizza would be the best in multiple cities around the country. New York just has too much competition. If I lived in the neighborhood, my butt would leave an imprint on one of the bar stools at Babbalucci’s. Bravo!

Good Pizza...Fast

By 1CREATIVE |

As the title states, the pizza is good and it is served very quickly. The woodfire oven makes the difference! The servers are nice and friendly and the atmosphere is casual and relaxed. I always enjoy Babbalucci's pizza and I hope that you will too!

New Year’s Eve. Best meal in NYC

By Hockrow |

Walked in off street with no booking. Lucky to get seated. Offered usual menu Many other places had super $$$ deals for New Years which weren’t interested in for our family of 6. Best meal we ate. Food quality was exceptional. Staff were awesome and atmosphere also great. Thanks for a great night Babbalucci. Roughly $25-35 usd per main meal and drinks reasonable also.

NIce new Italian restaurant in the Harlem area

By Raj N |

During our recent visit to New York, we were happy to go this newly opened Italian restaurant. Though the place is small the atmosphere was friendly and the food and service were great. It had few good vegetarian selections. The fried pizza was tasty. The cheesecake (homemade as told by waiter) was the best one we have ever tasted.

Worst pizza ever

By Jane E |

The was a DELIVERED pizza. Arrived on time, but came cold and chewy. We would have blamed the delivery service, but the bottom of the pizza was burnt, so…. Can’t be hard to create a marguerite pizza, yet this was, well, bland. But, the issue was: cold yet burnt. Not happy. Would never order again. Perhaps dining in is the only way to go with this place.

Lunch. Yes, will return!!

By Michaelkasperski |

We stopped for lunch and a drink and had a great experience. The service was amazing and our Romana Salad was killer! I can’t wait to have it again. Our pizza was great. The atmosphere is so cute and friendly service and a reasonable price. Can’t wait to return.

A Very Nice Experience!

By David H |

I tried one of their brick oven baked pizzas and thoroughly enjoyed it. The crust was nice and crisp, the ingredients fresh and the service delightful.

Sent food back

By Ariadne W |

Picked this restaurant because of the reviews. The fried calamari was awful. Simply awful. We didn’t even eat it. We ordered eggplant parmigiana. It was tasteless and mushy... not remotely well seasoned. A friendly woman asked what we ordered. So she didn’t order that. She ordered pizza and offered us two slices. The pizza was adequate but nothing to remotely rave about. We had fried zucchini, salad, and garlic bread for dinner. Pitiful.

Very good Italian Food

By Jessie R |

Went with a group of 6 friends. I got a pizza. it was VERY good. Almost everyone else got pasta and our plates were empty when we were done because the food was so good. Service was also great.

Good feeling

By Alain L |

Place is cozy, nice crowd and ambiance. Menu has something for everyone, the sample we had was ok, not great, except maybe the chicken milanese which actually very good. Alcohol serving is generous. Overall great for a good time with friends.

Charming place with great food

By Christine H |

I knew there were a lot of restaurants that have opened in the last few years in Harlem but just never made it up there till earlier this month. Found Babbalucci and had such a great meal that I booked to take friends there ten days later. It's a charming space... brick walls, good lighting and an attractive bar. All the waitstaff were friendly and professional; the service was perfect... attentive but not overbearing. Everything we've had has been great but particularly recommend the snails and the pizza. They have a wood-burning oven which make for a great pizza. The bartender makes a great martini and the wine list had an excellent selection with a variety of price options. It might be a bit far uptown for some but it's worth the trip!

Always lively

By ELSUSHI921 |

Great food, and drinks, fun to relax there, always interesting people and nice night out..Pizza is great

Nice Neighbor Joint

By LovesDessert |

Known for their brick oven pizza but i didn't order that for dinner. I loved their Romana grilled romaine lettuce salad and risotto balls! Eggplant parmigiano was ok. Lighting inside on the dark side and music a bit loud. Good service. Would return.

WONDERFUL WONDERFUL WONDERFUL

By GVMC01 |

I went there with my son and niece after work. She lives in the neighborhood and suggested it. Excellence at all turns. The waiter was engaging and professional. The food and wine were excellent. Even the cheesecake was delicious and I don't always eat cheesecake! I will be back and I've already suggested it to a co-worker.

The Italian Kitchen in New York

By Renay_KE |

Babbalucci deserves 7 stars. The service is excellent. The food is flavorful, generous portions and the wait time was brief. We can vouch for the short rib lasagna, the Fusilli and the Prime Hanger Steak. If you are a foodie, this is the place to be plus you get to see all the action at the oven brick:-) Be sure to get there early especially on Fridays or make a reservation.

The next best thing

By captsim37 |

First time in Harlem and we hit the jackpot!!!! Very good pizza cooked in a wood fire. Happy hour, awesome staff. I strongly recommend this place.

Great pizza in Harlem

By Akshay S |

Went to Babbalucci with my wife and kids and were impressed by the service and the quality of the food! If you want authentic pizza while in Harlem, this is THE place. I would highly recommend it.

Fantastic

By Ben B |

Thoroughly enjoyed an evening here during a family vacation to New York in November '17. Waiting staff were perfect, good humoured and served drinks with a very appropriate level of urgency. They obviously worked out quickly we were English. Food was top notch. I had a pulled rib lasagna which tasted as good as the best lasagna I've ever tasted. The rest of my party had similar responses, although I was far too consumed with my own dish to pay much attention to their choices. Setting is intimate and welcoming, with a bit of a cool bar type vibe - complimented by the background music (which I do admit I don't normally notice in a restaurant). Recommended.

Mama Mia- Thatza Good Pizza!

By Paulasphotos |

Great service, fabulous food and fun atmosphere! Had the St Nic Bianche pizza and the Rucola Insalate; Delicious!

Sunday brunch - the best!

By Sabra B |

Were walking around Harlem. Red Rooster too crowded as was Sylvia's. Trip Advisor reviews of Babbalucci sent us across the street and found this sweet treat of a restaurant! Not crowded, so we were immediately seated (we were starved) set up with belllini's (part of the brunch menu) and then proceeded to eat the most amazing pizza's and grilled romaine salad. Totally delicious. Staff was friendly and helpful. You can see the chef's working their magic. Great meal.

Friend and fine!

By Dckohben |

Visiting from the Atlantic, we went up to Harlem with the intention of going to a nice Italian, this was one of the first we found and it had good reviews on Yelp. It was pretty quiet when we arrived but for busy as the night went on. The food was good and tasty and the three of us cleaned our plates for the first time since being in New York. Devin, our table host was friendly and did a good job looking after us. Overall we had a nice night!!

Forget Sylvia's try Babbalucci

By Shaun L |

When you are in Harlem this is the spot to hit. GREAT pizza, wood burning oven. Super fresh, good service, good wine. Just a really enjoyable spot.

Hidden Gem in Harlem

By 410person |

Was here for dinner with friends. Good artisan wood-fired pizza and amazing cocktails. Bartenders are cool too.

Not on Friday or Saturday

By Henri van Eeghen |

Pizzas are enjoyable here. However, if you order for delivery on a Friday be ready to wait 2 hours! Incredible for a pizza. They don’t bother to call you either.

Sicilian brunch in Harlem on a Sunday!

By rh24 |

What an amazing concept -- and the meal was so satisfying on many counts for our party of 8. It was truly a "brunch" and not just early lunch on a Sunday -- there were eggs for those who wanted it and the "endless mimosa" option. The brunch pizzas were very creative. I loved my carbonara -- and those who chose more traditional breakfast items were satisfied too. The food is Sicilian-inspired and that's what makes it unique.

Great Harlem Spot

By Dan W |

We chose to meet friends here while in NY for a visit. Nice choice! The food is great and the service very good as well. The noise level is very high, however, so keep that in mind. Otherwise it's terrific.

Found by accident.... great find.

By Ashley R |

We went to Harlem to eat somewhere that was closed. We found Babbalucci on trip advisor. It was delicious. The ensalada mixta was fantastic. We loved both pizzas. So glad we found !

Bday dinner

By LivinLux |

Christine the owner was very gracious. A close friend of mine frequents this establishment with her bf at least 4 nights a week. She told me the wine and food was to die for. I met them for my actual bday night dinner. I had the Trenette for my entreè and it was good. I could tell the pasta was homemade. The sparkling red wine was the best I've had, ever!! They also have a drink made with Hennessy, called Henny Dear Friend that is amazing as well. Next time I'll try the pizza, but I'll definitely be back.

First-rate food, excellent service, congenial atmospere

By Vicarmuddlebush |

We were a party of five for dinner in this cozy and vibrant dining room, seated within range of the heat radiating from the bustling pizza oven. We had a good view of the two chefs crafting and cooking a most impressive quantity of delicious looking pies (many destined for a very busy take-out and delivery business). Despite the demands on and fast pace of the staff of this restaurant, here is an easy going feel to the place made possible, I think, by the hyper efficient and agile wait staff, who, even while moving at break neck speed weaving mong teh tightly arranged tables, maintain a calm efficiency. We had a terrific server named Devon who memorized our order and delivered it with humor, wamth and a seemingly effortless precision. The food: really first rate. Very Italian, I would say, with simple renditions of excellent ingredients. In my case that was a beresaola based arugula salad, lightly dressed in lemony olive oil and decorated (not fussily) with raw mushrooms. I followed that with an appetizer portion of mussels, all perfectly cleaned and cooked in a light tomato based broth. My dessert was unconventional, to say teh last. From their contorno list, I chose their roasted Brussels sprouts, with a drizzle of Balsamic. A bit sweet (but aren't desserts supposed to be?),with an amazing range of flavors coaxed from that lowly crucifer. They were excellent...caramelized and crisp at teh same time. Babalucci should add them to its dessert list! All my companions were delighted with their dinners, including the pizzas, a squid ink pasta dish and the eggplant. The insalata Romano was especially appreciated. All in all, an excellent place, to which we will return.

Excellent

This place is a small jewel in the soul of Harlem. Food is delicious and the recipes are unique. Definitely worth a visit. Pizza is sooo delicious. The deco and vibe are definitely a plus. In the summer they have live music as well.

Good pizza.

By ted m |

Dropped in for a quick lunch and we were happy we did. Friendly service, quality pizza using terrific ingredients from their wood fired oven. Started with the Fritto Misto and they nailed that as well. Recommended.

Good atmosphere

By Gary B |

Really enjoyed the cocktails. The bar tender was good to watch. The pizza was great, cooked just the way we like it. I enjoy the menu. Good service.

Fabulous ambience and staff

By kgreenwood |

We had a fabulous dinner here - some of the best service we had in New York. The food was delicious - very affordable with generous helpings. The staff were really fabulous and the ambience of the restaurant is great. I highly recommend a visit here if you are in Harlem - but you may have to book, it's very busy!

Great Italian in Harlem

By AirSchis |

We stopped there recently with friends for an afternoon pizza and wine. We sat outside in the sun to enjoy the weather. Server was friendly and helpful and lots of great choices for pizza. Pizza choices both white and red sauces. Prices were reasonable. Neapolitan-style pizza was perfectly done for all of us. The wine pairing was tasty as well. One of the best assets was the live music from a quartet playing smooth style jazz. Wow, a great experience.

Great Pizza!!!

By RoundTheWorld1111 |

Came here to do some work at the bar and had an amazing wood-fired pizza! The service was wonderful and the atmosphere was relaxed and pleasant. The Margherita pizza was authentic and delicious. I will definitely be back!

Amazing Homemade Italian in Harlem

By dianebianca |

We were visiting a client in Harlem and visited this spot and have now come back again. First, the atmosphere is warm and welcoming and the staff is very friendly (and charmingly Italian). But, most importantly, the food was delicious. Everything was delicious, the appetizers, the pizza and the entrees - all of which were shared among our group. In addition, the cocktail program was top notch. Their sommelier was knowledgeable in recommending wines. A nice touch! We will certainly be back again next time we're in the neighborhood. Always look forward to their new seasonal items.

Great Pizza

By Katie |

Babbalucci serves up some delicious food in a cozy atmosphere. The dimly lit Harlem restaurant has spot on woodfire pizzas that are perfect for sharing, as well as a descent Happy Hour from 4-7pm with $8 wine, $5 beer, $7 well drinks, and food specials. I have stuck to pizza and happy drinks for a more frugal meal, but all the dishes coming out of the kitchen look tasty, and it is certainly worth a visit!

Good atmosphere

By AngieNannetteT |

I enjoyed my time at Babbalucci more for the company that I was in than because of the food. I have pretty high standards for my pizza and this was not the best I've had. However, the service was great as was the ambiance.

Excellent food

By Cassandra C |

I ordered a pasta dish callecd Orecchiette, with grilled chicken and vegetables. Delicious. We also ordered the Americana Pizza. It was to die for. Great food and great atmosphere.

Excellent!!!

By Jessica S |

This place is a must. Burrata Pizza (we added Pancetta) was to die for. I now dream about their polenta fries and fusilli pasta with sausage and porcini cream. Prices are fair for the great quality and portion sizes. Tiramisu was good, but not great. Will be back again and again!!!

A fun, bustling Italian restaurant in Harlem

By Wendy and Ian |

We ate at Babbalucci twice during our recent stay in Harlem. Both nights were very enjoyable, with beautiful, authentic Italian food and great wines. We especially enjoyed the Super Tuscan, having a bottle one night and by the glass on the other night. Service was friendly and efficient.

Sicilian Charm

By Carl L |

Stopped by on Columbus Day. Lovely staff - when we asked about a tiny aspect of the pizza we ordered they just straight up re-made to perfection! 🍕Wish they had a more developed wine menu though but the food was great!

Real Pizza in Harlem

I went for lunch with an italian friend and we were please to see that this place do not only has an Italian Pizza Haven but they also know how to prepare a real pizza.

We'll be back!

Super duper Italian food, decor, service. Everything was great from the drinks to the desserts. Enjoyed my selections of perfectly prepared eggplant parmesan and lemon ricotta cheesecake. Great service, comfortable setting with well spaced tables. Gets an A.

Great Italian restaurant in the heart of Harlem

By HappyTraveler1957 |

Had a wonderful dinner with family here on a nice summer weekend night. The restaurant is located in the heart of Harlem, on Lennox Ave. near 125th Street. The food was wonderful! I heartily recommend the pizzas, the spaghetti and meatballs and the eggplant parmigiana. The service and ambiance were wonderful as well. We chose to sit inside, but there's outdoor seating available as well. Can't wait to go back.

Amazing Italian style place in Harlem

By Getaway464799 |

I went there with my family after a walking tour in Harlem. We tried the spaghettoni with meatballs and the pizza! The food was delicious and the service really good. Definitely recommended

Decent Experience

By NelliJ |

Not a good experience in food or service. The service was slow and it wasn't busy. The food was mediocre. I'm a foodie and based on the reviews, I had high expectations. The party of 3 each order something different but we started off with their signature appetizer - the snails. I had never had snails but my friend has had it and suggested we try it. I didn't care for it, and my friend said that she has tasted snail dishes much better. Not a good start. For our entrees, I ordered the short ribs lasagna. It lacked flavor and the short ribs were like unidentifiable shred of meat that was so sparse that I had to lift the layers of pasta in search of the short ribs. After bringing it to the server's attention, I was allowed to reorder. So I ordered the special which consisted of pasta and seafood tossed in a sauce. It was one of the specials. Ironically, while it was the best tasting dish of the 3 of us, it didn't taste very special. The other person in our party ordered the Fusillli. It was bland and extremely heavy. I don't know how this restaurant got so many great reviews, but the best thing was that the portions were generous and comparable to the price. But large portions doesn't matter if your eating mediocre tasting food. The three of us all left feeling the same - dissatisfied stating that it's our first and last time at Babbalucci.

Really Good Food!!

By Carolyn M |

The Brutus pizza and Roman salad were absolutely delicious. Our waiter was really nice and attentive. Probably the best pizza in Harlem

The best!

By SimiKingston_Jamaica |

Simply my best dining experience this trip! We wanted to have an Italian dinner and stopped by. We had a 40 minute wait but it was worth it (guessing it was a Friday evening crowd). Our server - Ducky was professional and efficient. He suggested the house specials and we were impressed - I don't remember the italian names for all the dishes. The pumpkin bisque was full of flavour. The whole roasted fish on a bed of spinach was well done - moist and full of flavour. The 1/2 lobster & shrimp on spaghetti was quite spicy and absolutely delicious. We also shared an appetizer (shrimp, squid, calamari) and a small pizza (cheese & basil) they wer also very good. The presentation of all the dishes was very nice too.

Ear numbing

By Mike S |

We had reservations last night for dinner but because the violin player was so loud we walked. Now we like good entertainment and this guy was good but just way to loud to be able to carry on a conversation. It's supposed to be background music not music so loud you had to read lips. I asked the maitre d if he thought it was too loud and he agreed but did nothing to tone it down. We will try again when this guy isn't playing as I have heard the food is wonderful. What was management thinking. People were walking away in droves. Go figure.

Gem of an Italian Restaurant

By Tye H |

This place on Lennox Ave. is a wonderful Harlem gem. Great bar, warm and professional service and absolutely great wood-fired pizza. The super Tuscan by the glass was delicious and reasonably priced.

Great place with delicious food

By MonXX |

Babbalucci offers amazing food and service in the middle of Harlem. Delicious pizza! And their Romana salad will blow your mind. Choice of beer is pretty good too and if in doubt which one to order, you can get a sample. Casual and classy at the same time. Will come back!

Great food, atmosphere and staff

By Big Sky Guy |

We wondered in on a whim and the food, atmosphere and wait staff was top notch. We shared two different meals both were great. Had one of the best Chianti's I've tried. Would go back in a heart beat. Had a nice cheese cake and one of my favorite bourbons to finish off the meal.

Nice but ...

By back from America |

I had just flown cross country for a few days visit at some friends living nearby. On a Friday night, place was packed and music so so loud .. but we were lucky to be accommodated at past 11PM!!! Getting a spot by the window where a very nice waiter took care of us promptly... service was great and efficient. Pizzas were delicious, the doe was perfect like over there in Italy !!!! The music being so loud was a challenge all night long until the place was about to close ... we were the last one and they were nice enough not to rush us out! A cool place to go if you don’t mind the very vibrant ambiance :-))))

Bad experience

By Vanessa P |

I ate at Babbalucci on 18th March at 1:30 pm First of all, one guy of the staff was eating pasta at the counter, facing the clients. He was wearing gym clothes and looked very unprofessional. Service was poor and very slow. I ate Salciccia panini and there was a lot of garlic inside that make the taste horrible: it is supposed to tell people ALL THE INGREDIENTS, cause it was not written! If it was written I would never ate it! I believe in this place because I really like the pizza they make but it can do so much better!

Dinner in Harlem

By Mervin B |

We went here for dinner after walking around Harlem. Definitely a good choice. The escargot is delicious and the Trenette is to die for. You also cannot go wrong with the steamed mussels and Arancini.

Good Pizza

By WilliamH2415 |

Small restaurant with a nice atmosphere. Staff was very nice and the server as well. Good service. We had a couple of pizzas and they were very good also.
