Great stop,almost missed it

By Larry B |

Great food. Salad bowl with lots of great fillings and sauces. Small but great quick lunch spot. Kinda Chipotle like but way better. Enjoy.

The proteins are dry

By Melanie T |

We needed a quick dinner before watching Aladdin and I found Balade - Your Way. It was nearby, and seemed relatively healthy, so it seemed like a good option. It was a Wednesday at around 6 pm and it was pouring. There were quite a few delivery orders but it seems like it would be a more popular lunch spot. I did the beef shawarma bowl. Although it wasn’t really beef shawarma. It was more like dry overcooked strips of cheap steak. The rest of the ingredients of the bowl were good though. You can select as many as you want. I went with the rice vermicelli base, and added pretty much all of the toppings they had, except for olives and feta. Hubby had double protein - shish tawook (chargrilled chicken) and lamb kebab. The chicken was also very dry. Lamb was only a little bit dry, so this was the best one. Maybe it’s better during lunch hours, since there would be more turnover. Or maybe it’s better to stick to the vegetarian proteins. Either way, I won’t be back to find out.

Good food!!!!

The chicken and beef shawarma was pretty tasty. The combination of the hot sauce, pickles, chicken / beef, lettuce, cilantro and onions were perfect! It was almost like a chipotle style restaurant inside. I'd definitely recommend this place and will be returning!!

Satisfying Dinner

By Craig C. |

I liked it, but I didn't love it. I went with the Chicken Shawarma salad with mushrooms, onions, green peppers, and scallions. Everything was good and the ingredients were fresh. I tried both the tahini and the garlic whip - I feel like their sauces are what stood out most to me. Both were fantastic. I love garlic, and the flavor of the garlic whip was loaded with garlic goodness. Portion size was large and I felt full afterwards. Overall, it was a good dinner and I enjoyed it, but I'm just not sure I'd be rushing back anytime soon. Balade gets an A-OK from me.

Great Lebanese Food

By Max2962 |

We were wanting a simple healthy meal after several days in New York. We were staying in West 38th Street and walked past this restaurant. The food was fresh and authentic and was served promptly. The Kibbi was excellent and the tabouli was good. We took our food back to the hotel but there were several tables in the restaurant and eating in would have been a good choice.

Chipotle concept for Mediterranean food

Great, simple concept. The food was excellent and the service was very good. Again, very simple concept and small area. No bathrooms though.

Good Flavors & Atmosphere

We really liked the vibe of this place and the build-your-own style. We have a similar place in Denver that we frequent. However, our local joint gives unlimited toppings and includes sauce. Beware that Balade charges extra for anything over four toppings (sauce is counted as a topping). My hubby was used to unlimited toppings so he made quite an expensive kafta bowl. The kafta and tangy hummus here were incredible. The portions were large and filling. But I was most excited to try some traditional Lebanese dishes I had not tried before. It was awkward to get the manouche and appetizers. No one was working at that station and the guys at the build-your-own bar had a line. I ended up asking the cashier how to order. She was very kind and said she would take care of it. Unfortunately, the sfiha and banadoura harra did not arrive until we had all finished eating our entrees so everyone was pretty full. I did not care for the sfiha (probably just my personal taste) but loved the banadoura harra. I wish it had come out sooner b/c I would have left a bunch of my bowl in favor of the manouche. Overall this was a good experience but watch the extra charges and beg for your appetizers early.

GF falafel

By Amy W |

Not all falafel is gluten free, but this place does a good one. Definitely add the garlic whip to whatever you are ordering. This is available on Uber EATS.

Great quailty

By GClife |

Had dinner here last night, the quality was very good, you can build your own pitta sandwhich, with the vegetable options you enjoy and choice of sauce. The falafel was excellent as was the chicken. The only problem that they were slow in making everything, I would hate to come here when it's busy. Very reasonably priced and a small, but inviting seating area.

Very fresh..very good...very friendly service!

I got takeout, but found the dining room very charming....modern, clean...I would definitely not mind eating in...next time.....Very fresh salad....the milk pudding dessert that was recommended to me was amazing!

Great food and very friendly service

By PEMANI |

While visiting NY we had dinner at Blade - Your Way before going to a Musical. Food (falafel with brown rice) was very good and it was a big portion.Very helpful and friendly staff. There is just one big table and a bench and as a party of three it was a bit awkward to sit in one row and have dinner. But the food and the service made it up and we definitely would go back again.

Amazing people!!!

Try Rice & Salad + Chicken Shawarma. Nima, Olsen & all guys working there are really incredible people, they explain and recomend us what to eat for dinner and it was pretty good. Come and visit Balade... for sure one of the best places to try libanese food.

Great lunch

Went for lunch. Long line. But moves fast. Glad we stayed. Chicken shawarma wrap. Hummus feta and sauce. So good. Will be back again and again.

Still The Best

This place rocks! If you haven't tried their chicken, lamb or falafel you are missing out BIG TIME! Try their place on West 37th, or their newest place on East 41st. They still offer unlimited toppings. If you're not ready for a full meal a couple of sfiha or fatayer (or one of each) will tide you over until it's time to do some serious eating. Friendly staff, very clean premises and GREAT food . . . which you can easily become accustomed to. I know I did. I'll be there, again, tonight. FIVE STARS!

Heaven for a vegan and meat eating partner!

It’s just a hole in wall and you probably miss it, to your loss. The line is long but moves very quickly. You pick a base, wrap, rice bowel or salad. Then the protein, Falafel for me chicken shawarma for partner. Finish with a selection of 4 dips and veggies and a sauce. It was good. REALLY good for a lunch time take away for office workers. A small amount of seating. Oh and a great selection of fruit and juices.

This is a great Lebanese restaurant/takeaway. I live in London and always visit this place for a great value and delicious meal whenever I am in New York. Friendly staff and good size portions. Highly recommended.

Delicious

By Sue G |

great menu. Just a few tables, but an attractive dining area. They had a lot of take out orders. I do not hear well, and the order taker/cook had an accent, but he was so friendly it did not matter, we worked it out. The receptionist was sweet, she offered to carry my food to the table. A very nice place to eat.

Surprise surprise

I was passing by the neighborhood when i saw a buzzing queue from this gem of a restaurant. What a great discovery for healthy fast food! The ingredients were fresh and high quality and above all the taste was authentic. Great venue for people looking for an affordable, healthy, tasty and quick meal. Well done!

Great Food, Great Options, Really Friendly

By expatdude |

It was after 9p and we had just arrived for a long weekend in the city. Googled "falafel near "hudson yards" and Balade came up. What a treat. Had incredible falafel wraps and these delicious baklava bite sized desserts. Everything looked good, the dolmades, the Mediterranean pizzas, etc. Helpful, friendly, chatty staff...oh and a nice soundtrack. We will definitely be back.

The best Mediterranean food in midtown . . . possibly the best in New York.

Great food, great people to serve you, great prices. I have eaten here more times than I can count. This is superb Lebanese food . . . Tawook Chicken, lamb, shawarma, rice, sfiha, fatayer, rakakat and much more. I cannot praise this place enough. West 37th Street, or East 42st Street . . . same menu . . . unlimited toppings!
