We went on a warm summer Friday night and Pisellino was packed. The aperitifs drinks were lovely and plentiful. Be advised the Spritz comes from a “tap”, loses a bit of the magic. The wait and bar staff were welcoming and bustling. Seating is limited inside, so if sidewalk tables are taken, be prepared to stand. Nice buzz in the room.

There was a bit of a wait on a Thursday night around dinner time but it was worth it for the aperol spritz! I would recommend for a casual spot for drinks in WV.

We visited Pisellino for drinks before dinner. We asked to sit at the table at the end of the row of outside tables and the host said thats a table for three. So we were squeezed into a middle table for two. Ten minutes later a couple was seated at the table we initially requested. We order two expensive drinks. And asked for olives as every other table near us had olives. We were told olives come with a special drink--less expensive than ours. Service here could be improved.

What a charming Italian bar & cafe! It’s located right across the street from Via Carota in the West Village, and no surprise, it’s owned by the same power couple behind Via Carota. We had just flown into town and found ourselves with an hour to kill before our lunch reservation there, and I’m so glad we wandered over. Yes, it was only 11 a.m., technically “too early” for cocktails but we’re on vacation, and who’s judging? They open at 8 a.m. daily, serving up excellent coffee and pastries, so you can just as easily make this your morning stop. That’s what I love about the concept, it really is an all-day Italian bar/cafe! We grabbed a sidewalk table with perfect front-row seats for people watching, easily the best spot in the house. Our server was friendly and attentive, which added to the whole relaxed neighborhood vibe. I ordered the much-talked-about Sgroppino (thanks to all the rave reviews), and it lived up to the hype. A slushy blend of lemon sorbet, Prosecco, and vodka, it’s bright, refreshing, boozy but still delicate, like a little glass of vacation. My boyfriend went for the Paper Plane, which was just as delicious in its own way. Between the drinks, the vibe, and the West Village charm, Bar Pisellino is a must if you’re in the area. I’d come back any time of day!

Find a spot to park your bum, order a glass of orange wine and watch the world go by. This little whole in the wall is the best people watching in manhattan and you will feel transported to europe. cant wait to go back.

What a find! We had lunch at Bar Pisellino this past weekend and it was outstanding. Everything we ordered was great. We will be back. The outdoor seating is relaxed (can be noisy) and the staff is great.

On today's episode of I had to kill time before Via Carota, we have Bar Pisellino. As others have mentioned, this place is a classic Italian cafe. Upon entrance, I see a few couples have aperol spritz's that look absolutely delicious. However, I had told myself I wasn't drinking as I could feel a cold coming on. An internal war ensued. We opted to sit outside as what better people watching spot than right across the street from Via Carota. The waiter came and handed us menus and had on the coolest leather hat I've ever seen. I wanted to take a picture but didn't want to be weird. I ended up defeating myself and settled on an americano, the homie getting a hot chocolate. Sitting there with my legs crossed facing the street sipping my coffee in my Johnny Depp glasses, I felt pretty beast. The hot chocolate was heavenly as there was a scoop of vanilla ice cream in it. I think everyone should try it at some stage in their life. Overall, Bar Pisellino is the perfect place to just relax and have a coffee or a drink, just enjoying the day and life in general. I never give negative reviews but this time it's inevitable. Last night my friends and I came to this place, where we have been customers for years. We asked the waitress for a table, I think her name is AMY, however she has very short hair. She answered us with a rather nervous look. I also work in contact with people, I understand the level of stress one can have but it is unacceptable not to be able to manage such situations. After she addressed us with a very arrogant tone, we waited and drank the raised drinks inside. Another very kind waiter whose name I don't know told us that a table outside had become available, but the moment we went out, the female waitress made other people sit and addressed us in a rude way. We went back inside and noticed that she didn't like us because she was seating those who arrived later, at which point my friend asked for explanations and she yelled at us saying that she hoped she wouldn't see us in the place again. After this sentence I ask to speak to the manager and she says with an almost violent expression that she was the manager which I don't think she is. He also wanted to cancel our order when he saw that my friend had left to go get my bag from the car (why?). I've been living in NY for 10 years and something like this has never happened to me. This person isn't able to work with the public, doesn't know how to manage stress and above all drives customers away, in fact I would like to give this place another chance, but if I see her I will definitely never set foot in it again. She worked yesterday Nov 10.

The 2 of us were kicked out as soon as we walked in by the short hair lady. No explanation. Other people who walked in after were allowed to go in.

Small place that recalls the atmosphere of classic Italian cafes. During a walk we stopped for an espresso ($5): the best coffee we had in New York! Quick Service and prices in line with the city average.

Upon arriving at this place, I asked to be seated, and was met with a very rude and aggressive host. While I was standing outside in a public space, she physically pushed me and aggressively told me to move without any reason. When I asked her not to touch me, she told me to leave and said they would not serve me. I have never experienced anything like this before. It’s truly a shame. I plan to tell everyone about this shocking and upsetting behavior. I can’t believe something like this could happen in New York City in 2024. Shameful! Avoide this place at all coast, unless you want to be treated in such disgusting manners !!!!

The worst experience in my life. For any European tourist avoid this place. The manager push him out cos she was thinking I pushed one of his staff. Not true and she decided to not appept 3 people. Amazing atmospehere but tray to avoid if you are European or tourist.

This attractive bar café in the heart of Greenwich Village seems to have been transported from Italy. Located on Seventh Avenue South, it is hard to miss and one yearns to be inside. I have been here twice. The first time soon after it opened when I had an unusual ginger soda that was delicious. I also ate bomboloni which were soggy. On my second visit, I had a hot cappuccino and a polenta cake. Both were good. However, this was not my first choice. I wanted a gelato which wasn’t available. Neither was there any chocolate for a bicerin. I was also told that the cacio e pepe potato chips were missing and may not be stocked in the future. I had been keen on having them. What is popular here are the cocktails - aperol spritz with a panini or by itself. Several other aperitifs are made at the bar. The pistache with gin sounded glamorous and what I want to try next time. Service here is efficient and the servers are kind and knowledgeable.

The lady manager kind of with short hair is very full of herself and unpredictable! Be careful what you do what you say ! She could be very explosive and throw you out any moments !

We came at 8PM without reservation. The hostess was really nice and provided us a table. We ordered a Traditional Negroni and my wife an Aperol Spritz . After we ordered a second round of Negroni, a expresso Martini . Every drinks were perfect.

Attracted to this spot as outside seating and it an abnormally warm day for March in New York. Just ordered a couple of beers and they were thrown down on the table by the waitress. Pleasant enough Pilsner, but just drunk them quickly and paid up. Weren't made to feel welcome at all.

We visited the place for an aperitif. Good at mixing. Young atmosphere with an excellent outdoor area. A "Milanese" aperitif in New York.

Depending on the time of day, Pisellino is the perfect spot to get an espresso or cocktail and see the world go by -- even better when the weather is good enough to sit outside. The bar is also conveniently located opposite from Via Carota, so once you put your name down there, head over for a cocktail. That's exactly what we did. We tried signature cocktails, which were fine, but not great, so stick to the classics -- our spritz and negroni were great! Friendly service, although a bit pushy (the place was busy on a Saturday afternoon and the waiters didn't like seeing empty glasses!).

Your in Italy the first moment you enter this cafe . Abundante drinks, lite eats, cool spot before or after you visit Via Carota across the street.

The worst service I ever had. Will never go back. The host was so rude, the staff is consistently awful. It's such a bummer because it could be so much better.

Really unique bar/ coffee house/ small bite location! Beautiful marble bar and ornate bar back ... all in a cute corner of NYC!

I visited Bar Pisellino on Sat, March 9, 2024 in the afternoon and had an extremely disappointing experience due to the behavior of the HOST, a short-haired woman. Firstly, upon entering the busy bar, there was no host present at the entrance, leading to confusion and a disorganized queue. When I attempted to inform the host that I was first in line, she rudely dismissed me, accused me of being challenging, and proceeded to seat others who arrived after me. Despite finally being seated, the host continued to be disrespectful and condescending. She made unnecessary remarks about my behavior and treated me as if I were a child, which was completely uncalled for and unprofessional. Furthermore, when I attempted to inquire about potentially joining friends, the host again refused to listen and accused me of causing trouble, demonstrating a complete lack of hospitality and customer service. Adding to the frustration, I had confirmed with the waiter that ordering two drinks was acceptable, only for the host to later use this as an excuse to accuse me of disobeying the bar's rules. She then took away my drinks and forcibly ejected me from the establishment, despite my attempts to calmly address the situation. Throughout the interaction, I couldn't help but feel DISCRIMINATED against, particularly as the only Asian woman in the line. The host's behavior from the outset, coupled with her unjustified actions, leads me to believe that her conduct may have been influenced by RACIAL PREJUDICE. Overall, my experience at Bar Pisellino was marred by the unacceptable behavior of the host. I would strongly advise against visiting this establishment due to its lack of respect for customers and potential discriminatory practices.

We enjoyed a pleasant evening at Pisellino. Everyone seemed to be outdoors having an Aperol Spritz so that’s what we tried. I will have to go back for another cocktail

Have been here plenty of times before and never had an issue. Until the host ( lady with short hair at the door, think her name was Amy) started selecting who can come into bar.Went in August with my sister. The host ( short hair lady) at the door said the bar was at full capacity. The bar was basically empty. We left. We went back in September with friends. Again the same lady at door told us they didn’t have availability. Did she have a problem with our skin color, our curly hair? We left and then came back with another friend who had straight hair and light skin. She did not have a problem with her but when she saw us said we were not nice to her and would not let us go in. She kept saying we were rude to her. TOTALLY NOT TRUE! Avoid this place!!!!

I Love Bar Pisellino! You can have Amazing cocktails or a great espresso. They also have wonderful small bites. It is a Beautiful Space. You will feel like you are in Italy!

This was my second, and last, visit. Both times, servers were rude—it’s like you are really putting them out by asking for a table, and good luck placing an order. They grudgingly bring your drinks, which are actually good, then scurry away and stay away, sometimes shooting you a dirty look so you’ll leave. Too many other great places, don’t waste your time here.

We stopped off here after a visit to see Carrie Bradshaw's House. Very quaint little place. My friend and I enjoyed an espresso martini, it was lovely. Service is also fantastic. Definitely worth a visit.

This place has a good vibe. We popped in one night around 10:00 and the place was jammed. A very nice selection of amaro's. Courteous service from the staff. Espresso & pastries during the day. I like that this place can provide your beverage needs for the whole day. A casual & relaxed feeling to the place.

Sipped on Americanos and Camparis and watched the world go by - all those stylish people in the West Village buzzing along. Good waitstaff and reasonably priced drinks. A perfect place to wait while your table across the street is being prepared, as the owners of this place also own the happening restaurant across the street.
WOW these cocktails are amazing!
Stopped in for pre-dinner drinks and it was super packed, although in the time we were there, things thinned out so don't despair if it's too jammed when you arrive. We got a martini and a drink called the Cobbler (the name turned me off because I kept thinking of cobbler desserts, which made me fearful the drink would be cloyingly sweet - but it wasn't, it was truly amazingly good). Great service, very friendly, happy to explain different drinks. I didn't get the Manhattan but it looked fabulous. Generous sizes too.
