Stumbled across this one as we walked around the city and so glad we did! The pasta was some of the best I’ve ever eaten. Cannot praise it high enough. The crab tortellini genuinely was the best meal of a 3 week trip

Very attentive welcome, neat and trendy restaurant decoration with good ambient music, sufficiently spaced tables, impeccable service and above all fast. We took the parma ham aged 20 months, very hearty and thinly sliced. Very tasty. Then giant fusillis with pesto and stracciatella al dente with a very tasty generous sauce. For dessert, the pistachio-pistachio specialty really refined and of very high quality. Worth a visit!

There was a lot of cheese on everything so be warned if you are lactose intolerant and coming for any sort of fixed menu lunch - but it was good and offered enough variety otherwise.

I was there yesterday and they charged my card for the amount owed including tip . Today I'm sitting at home and all of a sudden I get a notification for another charge a few dollars higher than yesterday. I tried calling and they don't have an actual person to answer the phone , you have to email or txt them and wait for a reply . DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES GIVE THIS PEOPLE YOUR CREDIT CARD . Most likely you'll be charged multiple times with no one to speak to afterwards. Someone finally answered by txt and I don't even know who I was talking to because I was never given a name . I also asked for a manager’s name and they gave me every excuse on earth not to provide me with one . Making a long story short . No one cared , no one resolved my issue and now I will obviously have to dispute the charges in the card .

The restaurant is in an area not very touristy, but relatively close to Midtown and Times Square. From the outside it looks very pleasant with soft lighting and a nice bar counter; it is not just a bar as the name would suggest, but a restaurant that would like to be inspired by Italian cuisine, without succeeding. Meatballs with mediocre sauce, pizza with spicy salami not good, tagliatelle Bolognese with plenty of cream in the sauce (you must not put it, neither in Italy, nor in NY....); we ask for bread to accompany the food and they reply that they do not serve bread....... A glass of red Cabernet (at $18...) poured from a measuring cup without even showing the bottle and the label (!) sparingly enough not to fill half a glass. Disappointing experience overall.

Bar Primi near Penn station is a reasonable dinner destination for the area, which has a notorious paucity of good restaurants. That said, I’ve not been too impressed the couple of times I went there. The restaurant is noisy, a scourge of public dining in the city, I’m afraid. The drinks are insanely expensive, >$20 for a martini, high even by New York standards. When I asked for bread they didn’t seem to know what I meant and brought us some crostini instead. The appetizers we ordered were good, and so were the main dishes (in my case respectively a salad with blue cheese and walnuts and grilled sea bass) but, again, significantly above average price. When I ordered coffee at the end of the meal it came half spilled on the saucer, with no sugar, and really didn’t taste right. Not to be repeated.

We went for Saturday brunch. Now I realize we arrived right before noon for an 1145 am reservation. The host said because we were late, we had to wait another 15 minutes to be seated - in a huge restaurant that was two-thirds empty at the time. OK whatever, so we ended up waiting another ten minutes for a table. We ordered tea and coffee, then put in our brunch order. Brussels sprouts and an insalata di scarola came out fairly quickly and tasted great. For whatever reason, the fritatta and fried egg amatriciana didn't show up to our table for another 30 minutes after our appetizers had been cleared. Everything tasted good, but the service is very lacking. Bar Primi is not recommended.

We hosted a corporate event at Bar Primi last week, and it was an absolute blast! The terrace provided the perfect atmosphere, the food was delicious, and the service was top-notch. A special shoutout to Adrielle and the entire Bar Primi staff for going above and beyond to make this an incredible experience for both our team and our clients. Thank you for helping us create such a memorable event! Highly recommend!

We waited over 45 minutes for a $28 portion of pasta that contained eight noodles. When we had inquired about the long wait time, our server sent her manager over to try to smooth things over with us, but she then became extremely inattentive, did not make eye contact with us, and ignored us for the rest of the evening. When said pasta arrived, it was cold. It's truly a shame because our experience with our drinks and appetizers was fantastic up until this point, and our server was great for the first half of our meal. Was excited to make this our new pre-MSG spot, but not anymore!

Very strange experience. We were drawn in by the beautiful appearance of the restaurant from the outside, and the interior was also very nicely decorated. But from the moment we entered it all went downhill. My friend and I were spending a girls weekend and we were seated at a very rickety what seemed like an outdoor patio table in between two tables for four. Employees dressed in red jackets were positioned to basically watch us while we were eating at all times and we’re basically hovering around us at all times. Someone who I assume was a manager or the resident wine “expert” came over three or four times and was giving us his recommendations on wines, pushing a bottle of wine that was in the three digit range. It was such a stranger approach, and it was so pushy. It seemed like a used car salesman, so much so that we didn’t buy wine because of this. This was going on other employees were constantly at our table checking in on us removing things from our table and asking us if everything was okay the second something was placed on our table. The food was average to above average. The moment I finished my last bite and employee was removing my plate from me, no joke within a matter of seconds. It was a very strange experience, it felt very uncomfortable to be watched this closely and it was as if they were acting like they were a much higher level, dying experience than what it really was.It was actually uncomfortable.

28. 6. 24 Bar Primi 5* It was my first trying bar primi as one of my family members recommended the restaurant. We were very pleased with the service. The lovely waitress, Lauren looked after us and recommended the best meal on the menu. I want to give a big shout to Daniel, formally known as Dan. Who recommended the 'Strawberry Fantasia' to my mum and I. The way he described the dessert with so much enthusiasm and passion which definitely won us over! I definitely recommend coming to this lovely Italian restaurant in the Penn district. The decor and interior design was beautiful and had a range of beautiful music.

This place was great! The location is easy to find in the penn district. Food was good however the service was better. Great selection of wines to choose from. The only downfall was the longwinded booking process.

Food was amazing and server Megan G was the best I’ve ever had. The hostess even charged my phone for me. Will be back soon!

My husband & I had a FANTASTIC dining experience here! It was only the 3rd day of their opening and everything was perfect. Often new restaurants have some glitches or issues still need working out, but this place ran smoothly. From the minute we stepped inside, we had a lovely greeting from the hostess. We arrived 1/2hr early and were able to find 2 seats at the bar. Bartender served us great drinks and we were seated to a lovely corner banquet table w/in 10mins. Our waiter, Matt, was awesome! Professional, personable, & on top of everything which just adds to the entire dining experience. The drinks were great and the food was delicious! We ordered 2 apps (calamari & meat balls), a pasta dish (crab ravioli), 2 entrees (hanger steak & veal milanese) and 2 desserts (lemon canelloni & tiramisu). ALL PERFECTION!!! The restaurant itself is CHIC AF and can not wait for the huge outdoor area to open up. This place will surely be a hit! Thankfully we live a few blocks away, so hope to make it a neighborhood fave!

We went in for a drink and it was quite busy. The bartender said he’d finish drinks for the tables and then served us. We then noticed he served everyone around us - people who’d arrived well after us. He then poured my drink but instead of preparing the other one, he started serving other people too. By then we’d been waiting for 45 minutes so we just left. That was plain rude. I’d never recommend it, it’s a complete waste of time.

What can I say? We were staying next to Bar Primi but never thought about having dinner there. Until we did! Amazing food, amazing staff and amazing dinner!

Private room for corporate dinner and the staff at Primi killed it. Great location and amazing decor and design. Outside was a little cold but they have a huge out door bar and sitting area with fireplace and heated lamps. Bar tender was on point and we couldn’t through a drink request her way that she couldn’t handle. Meal was three courses and family style. Loved everything that came out. You won’t be disappointed by stopping at this place. Meals are pricey but everything in NYC is. Highly recommend eating here.

Really nice casual restaurant near Penn station. Went here with my daughter while on a break to NYC. The food was very tasty we got a pasta dish and a chicken dish with sides and the flavours were excellent. Good drinks menu. Service was very good there was a long delay on one of the side dishes but the staff apologied and we weren’t charged for the dish (this was unprompted so I thought very good customer care). The athmosphere here is lively with a good crowd. Overall would definitely recommend this restaurant.
Bad spice
The place has a pretty nice structure and the attendants are kind, despite the price being high for what is offered. Besides the price not being inviting, the served food has uncontrolled spice, making the served dish very bad. The pepper and strong spices in the dish, practically prevented any taste of the food. Won't come back.
