In a hidden gem of a bar, our group drank excellent craft cocktails. The bartenders were knowledgeable and friendly. I would come back in a flash. P

2nd visit here. Year prior was for drinks and Burlesque. We had a blast and the service at the bar was stellar. This year, we made a reservation to eat and upon arrival were given a "time limit" on how long we could sit. There was no show tonight so this was a new one for us. Very limited menu for share plates and impossible to hear the server. We ordered 2 or three things and they were just okay. Service was below average as well. We intended to have a full dinner there and decided to throw in the towel and go elsewhere for the main meal. Not sure we would go back.

Located out the back of a coffee shop this small bar was a great place to enjoy a couple of gin cocktails. The drinks were interesting and the décor of the bar made it stand out relative to some similar places. Overall, worth a visit

Enter a doorway through a delicatessen. We poked our heads in to get a feel of the place, typical speakeasy style. Dark, dimly lit however, extremely crowded. Did not stay for a drink, perhaps some other time. Staff at door were very friendly and accommodating.

We just love the speakeasy concept, and the attention to detail at Bathtub Gin was truly awesome. Service was great, and we trialed quite a few (very interesting) drinks off their vast menu. We visited on a Saturday evening, and it was quite busy, fortunately we made a reservation - which is highly recommended to avoid disappointment.

Things got out of hand pretty quick at Bathtub gin. I left worse for wear, more than slight inebriated. Saturday night vide was busy but not packed- space for a bit of a boogie. Give it bash!

Such a beautiful, beautiful place!! I love going here, the service is good and their cocktails are great! Loved the gin gin cup and their martinis. You can usually get a table fairly easily if you go early. Their truffle fries are so good!!

Great small plates and delicious cocktails! The speakeasy entrance and interior vibes are fun; reservations were beneficial. Reasonably priced for the city! Would recommend and hope to return!

Amazing cocktails, food and service. Davis is a superb host as are all the staff. Monday night was jazz night with a great energy in the room, would recommend to anyone

Our friends were very confident we'd enjoy this venue and they were right! WE managed to book a booth for the 4 of us and arrived slightly ahead of our booking. The entry is straight out of the prohibition era as is the decor and show. We walked into a coffee shop and a burly gentleman checked our booking and proceeded to open a hidden door into the bar. Great atmosphere created immediately. The staff are wonderful and the show is well worth the wait. It's full of laughs thanks to the host and the performers are terrific. The atmosphere is intimate and you can feel the 20's vibe. Drinks are reasonably priced. The surprise for me was the excellent quality of the food. We grazed all night and nothing was a problem for the staff. We'll be back

We lucked out -- totally -- stumbling into this speakeasy on a Saturday evening around 6pm and nabbing a walk-up table. The hostess told us that she needed the table back by 7:15 for a reservation. Deal! We all had a cocktail and were out before our replacements arrived. Best cocktail at the table: the Anti-18th.

the menu isn't very big, but we taste 4 differents gin, all were fantastic, the mood was very cool, you dont see any sign of the bar, yo have to enter to a coffee shop, ad then throw the wall. an excellent speakeasy bar.

My son brought us here yesterday. He had been there before and thought we'd like it. We certainly did like it. Our experience was excellent. We stopped in during mid-afternoon so had time to enjoy some drinks and a few finger foods. Our server was most accommodating to us. We just happen to sit under the music. At our request she had the volume lowered for us to have a table conversation. Being older I really enjoyed the "speak easy" atmosphere as we entered and sat inside. We will be back for sure.

Nice speak easy set up with original cocktails and limited bites. Garlic fries were good, as was the signature G&T.

The atmosphere as you walk in is totally period. The staff was attentive and fit the venue. The Ambiance was excellent, the music was 1920s, and the vibe was vintage. This lasted for about a half an hour until 8:00 when the music abruptly changed to loud modern techno, totally spoiling the ambience. We hung in there a little longer even though we couldn't talk over the music anymore, hoping that the live Jazz would be good. Unfortunately when the live music started it wasn't period jazz or even modern jazz and it was amplified in a room that was only about 30 by 30. Totally unnecessary and prevented any conversation. We asked for the check which for four small appetizers and six drinks was well over $200. And it should be noted that there was very little to the drinks both in size and alcohol quantity. The glasses were big but so full of ice there was very little actual cocktail. An incredibly disappointing experience.

Made a reservation for Friday night, arrived and we were seated within a few minutes. We were seated down the back at a table for 2, with a table for 4 free beside us. Ordered our drinks which were very well made. Friday night is too busy, we were surrounded by people drinking who didn’t have a table, it’s was really loud we couldn’t even have a conversation as we couldn’t hear each other. The table of 4 beside us arrived which happened to be a table for 6 although I’m not sure the waitress was aware of this as two extra guests arrived after the group were seated. At this point it was getting very cramped so we knocked back our drinks and left. Won’t return it’s not a bar for a chilled out drink or a date night.

It was a little cramped but one of the staff members allowed us to sit before a reservation showed up which was greatly appreciated having been on our feet most of the day. The bourbon and gin cocktails were very good. Cool place to grab a drink in Chelsea.

Enter via a shop front, and enter the prohibition drinking era! Awesome cocktails, cool atmosphere, and Sunday night Burlesque dancers! What's not too like?!?!! Didn't try any of the food, but it looked ok..

The cocktails were very exotic and not like anything I've had before. I think there is a cocktail that would fit anyones preference. The bartender Santaigo put a lot of effort into each drink, he was great! I would definitely be coming back!

True speakeasy w great craft cocktails, a few dozen bottles of house made bitters, several fresh herbs. Highly recommend if you're lower Manhattan (15-20min by taxi) or Chelsea.

It was a good speakesy experience - hidden entrance, bartenders/waiters dressed in 20s theme. Super crowded so do make a reservation before you visit.

Went to Bathtub Gin as a part of a group Speakeasy Tour. This was our first stop. It's tucked behind a cute little coffee shop. Cocktails will end up running you about $20. I got the Gin Gin Fizz which was delicious. Decor was great, service was ok. They seemed to be a little flustered this night. Otherwise it was a nice bevvie in a cool place.

Amazing cocktails and great decor! BUT Made a reservation for a Saturday evening at 5:15 pm. Got numerous texts reminding me of my reservation right up to 5 pm. We arrived on time only to be told our table wasn't ready. They gave us another table but told us they would need it back by 6:30 pm. We wanted to get a gift certificate for a friend of ours and were told we had to order it online. After returning to Pennsylvania, my friend tried to order a gift certificate online but couldn't. She called Bathtub Gin only to be told that she had to buy one in person. They wouldn't even take her credit card over the phone! There has to be other places in NYC with great cocktails AND great customer service!

The bar is a cool place, nicely decorated with a top band playing jazz (Dandy Wellington and his band). Service however from the waitress was lousy. No smile, no 'thank you'; nor any 'your welcome'. It was as if we had to grateful to be allowed in. By the way you have to leave your coat in the front part, and pay 2 dollar per coat; no choice... We booked at 20h on Monday 25th of Feb and had a table just in front of the band. However at 22h we had to leave for another group while the band played until 23h. We had dinner with 6, all ordered 2 cocktails but still had to leave our seats. Very unpleasant and should have be warned in advanced with the booking. We would have chosen something else then. Very annoyed also that a 20% tip was automatically added to our bill (group of six). Our waitress did not deserve any tip! Could be a great place but success has gone to their head! I wouldn't go back.

A great place and super service. We had a dinner and tried a lot of the drinks. Just wonderful. The knowledge and the way they served was a bug surprise, and very tasty. We walked by the place twice, so make sure you look for the coffee shop when going there. Its worth atrip!!

fabulous food, staff and outrageously good atmosphere and burlesque. we booked for a private event and each and ever detail was above and beyond every expectation. can't wait to return. "Wabbit" mezcal cocktail is an absolute winner.

Love the atmosphere, nice food, very good service and really great drinks. I reccomend to visit this place!

What a great speakeasy Gin Bar! Prohibition perfect, knowledgeable mixologists, eclectic, dark and fresh. My New York favorite.

My wife and me went to a birthday party in the Bathtub Gin! It was an unforgettable night! The food and drinks were great and the show was amazing

The drinks where okay, the food was terrible the pasta had a weird sauce that smelled as if it was only seasoned with garlic and the staff was a little rude but then again it is NYC so who isn’t . The place is small and terrible lighting.

It's so easy for a speakeasy to be generic once you're through the doors but this place is amazing and has such a buzzy atmosphere where the feel of the 1920/30's is everywhere. The cocktails are amazing - we tried a few different ones and none of them disappointed. The bar snacks were also incredible - definitely worth a try!

Venue is great and the live music was cool, but the service was poor. Hostess didn't tell me part of my party had arrived already, and just left me waiting at the front without showing me to the table. Drinks and food service was also very slow. Food was very poor for the price.

Secret entrance is via the Stone Street Coffee Company. Came here on a Saturday night, without reservations, had to wait for about 10-15 minutes in a queue outside. If you want a table, it's best to reserve beforehand. The bar has a good ambience and has 1920/30's decor throughout the place. Cocktails are expensive, but excellent.

What a fantastic location, hidden away as per the old prohibition bars. When you walk in, you step into a modern but old school bar, dark, small but with an ultra cool vibe. Even mid week the place is buzzing. You have to book to make sure you get in. +Dandy Wellington and his band were playing !! If you like that old school 30's sound then they absolutely nail it. Different class

It’s not a secret place by any means, but they do a good job to make it feel like a speakeasy. The ambiance once inside is excellent for the theme. And despite the limited menu the food we both had was excellent. Had a burlesque show before we left and it was fun to see but I wouldn’t say it’s worth going just for that. But make reservations in advance cause they are serious about those. And if you come for the food and atmosphere and drinks I highly recommend it.

We love a "secret bar" and this one does have great ambiance once you are inside, so for ambiance I will give it a 4 star. It is an elegant speakeasy with an impressive wood bar and leather seating. The drinks are expensive though, and the bartender has an unappealing "I'm really cool because I work here and you are just lucky to spend your money here" affect that doesn't match the chivalry of a speakeasy or encourage you to spend more money. Gracious service would match the decor and go a long way. But if you are looking for a quaint and unexpected bar with a speakeasy vibe, this is worth a stop for the atmosphere and the fun of discovery what is behind the store front.

Do not go here. The drink are terrible!! And it's 16 a drinks you're better off getting a six pack at 7 eleven and drinking on the street then weird pretentious cocktails that taste terrible. We live a few blocks away and tried it many times and trust me it's been bad every time...

arrived on Sunday night intrigued by the name. Just missed the show but went in and had a great dinner (including interesting gins). Great ambience and service, the food was good, and reasonably priced.

I am a huge fan of craft gin, so I was already a bit biased before I even walked in the door, but Bathtub is great. Very cool environment, amazing cocktails and (kind of obviously) huge selection of gins. Great place to experiment and taste gins you may not be interested in buying an entire bottle of.

My wife and I were really looking forward to the unique atmosphere of a speakeasy and the Burlesque night. Here's a breakdown or our experience ... The good: The welcome and decor were great The bad: First: The Burlesque finished at 9:30pm, 15 mins before our booking. Bathtub is open until 2 or 3am and does not say or even hint the Burlesque finishes much earlier. So we did not see our main reason for booking. On politely complaining, there was strong bouncer-like push back suggesting it was our fault but eventually they conceded it was a common complaint and the owners were aware of the issue. I'll leave it to the reader to judge this review based on whether you see a helpful end time for their shows on their website today. Second: To say the constant, unblinking stares from the two owners just a few feet away were intimidating is an understatement. What they were trying to achieve, I don't know. But if you fancy a night feeling uncomfortable, give Bathtub a go!

Once you step in you are not expecting a gin bar. Good menu, great vibe and a must visit for the experience.

Absoultey abhorent staff, treated my girlfriends mother like crap and spoke to us so disrespectfully. Do not go here..

This place is HUGE fun. You enter through what looks like a tiny takeaway coffee bar. A woman at the disguised door lets you into the back room, which is wonderfully atmospheric - dark wood, low lights, period music, table and chairs discreetly screened. There are a host of specialty cocktails, many infused with herbs or egg whites or elderflower juices or other such concoctions. The one I tried was simply delicious, a specialty of the evening not shown in their website menu. There are small plates for sharing nibbles, always a good idea when you're going to the theatre with two drinks under your belt. Like so many hipster cocktail joints, it's pretty loud. Or lively, depending on your tolerance. With a fairly secluded table, we managed quite well with conversation. A truly fun and special place, one which we will definitely revisit when we're in the neighborhood - which is often. Cheers!

Got to love a hidden Speakeasy ! Small, make a reso. Great space , takes you back in time . Limited food menu but interesting ...steak tartar very good. Approx 70 Gins in the collection from around the world. Some Gin & Tonic cocktails on the menu but the bartenders very happy to discuss Gin and have you try different Gins. So my 2 favorite things Gin and Steak Tartar what more could you ask for.

Never been to a speakeasy before but our NYC colleagues recommended this one. Loved the entrance and the feeling of exclusivity. Lovely touches like the lighting make the place. Good service and good food. Not a really tourist place - so even better!

Visited this place after finding it on a New York attraction site. We were a party of 6 and were given a booth for the evening and because the party after us cancelled we were able to keep our table all night. The food selection was not vast but was good quality and large portion sizes.A great selection of drinks (not just Gins) and the staff were very attentive and friendly . The Burlesque show was great fun with audience participation included A mention must also go out to the great gentleman in the bathroom who was there to run the tap apply your soap and hand cream. All in all a great night out tucked away in a secret part of New York ,not easy to find unless you know where to look.

Sunday brunch burlesque show was somewhat entertaining. The food was edible and the service was unfriendly. Took some out of town guests for something different but feel that at just under $300 for brunch (for 4) it definitely wasn’t worth it. Been there, done that.

This is an old prohibition bar. Still has a private hidden entrance. Cool vibe and ambiance. One of my favorites. Good food. A cool place to go

I went with friends and despite the fact we had no reservation, we were given a table in a friendly manner. We had 2 rounds of cocktails and rhey were all great, and the burgers were delicious. Nice atmosphere and great speakeasy!

We came here to see some burlesque & the show was fantastic! We did however request good seats well in advance as we have never been and were on our honeymoon and got a table for 2 crammed in between some other tables for 2 that were extremely close to one another. There were 3 really good seats front and centre that they could have accommodated us with given we gave lots of notice with our reservation but had other people in them which was disappointing. It’s an intimate small place that is quite dark & loud because everyone is so close to one another and trying to talk. The drinks were good and the food as well. Just wish they could have made our experience extra special.

Bathtub gin is in the Chelsea neighborhood of NYC. The entrance is actually through the stone street coffee co. Its behind a plain door in the coffee shop. The coffee there is actually pretty good. Bath tub gins decor is like a Victorian style bar. The bar is larger than i expected and there are actually many booths as well as bar seats. The drinks are fanciful and the wait staff was attentive. They also serve a delicious menu but we mostly go for the cocktails. They also have burlesque nights but we have never been there when a show was being performed. There is also a large ornate bath tub in the center of the bar area that is the name sake of the bar. We usually stay in chelsea when visiting NYC and bathtub gin is our go to place for a night cap.

Dropped in a couple times for coffee during the day before I met one of the bar staff that encouraged me and my friends to stop by for the bar being from out of town.. when we went at 2:30 am the doorman said a $90 prepaid tab was required per person and not to waste his time asking questions.. rainiest day of the year and quiet everywhere. Had money to blow but didn't feel like giving it to them after dealing with the doorman. Lame.

Went here on a Saturday night, with a reservation which I highly recommend even if you're planning to visit early on a weeknight. The cocktail list was great, and service was decent, especially given the fact that the bar was packed at 8:30pm. Really pretty, and nicely located near some solid restaurants if you want dinner beforehand. I recommend the Gin-Gin Cup; definite winner.

Recommended... we gave this place a shot. Loved it from the moment we stepped foot inside.... a true Speakeasy. It's all about the vibe and ambiance and this place is Great! Funky, cool and a fantastic find! Met some friends here and they loved it as well. Only ordered appetizers and some drinks as we had a full Thanksgiving day waiting for us the next morning.

This cosy speakeasy bar is hidden behind a coffee shop front with a hidden door to the bar. Atmosphere is warm and cocktail selection is extensive. We were meeting friends and had a booking at a table. Unfortunately we were early and staff refused to let us sit u til our entire party arrived. There were no seats at the bar so we had to stand for 30 minutes until our friends arrived. This didn't make sense to us as there was no one siting at any fi the tables. We were eventually seated and pleasantly surprised to be there on one of the 2 nights of the week they put on a burlesque show (Sunday and Tuesday) Entertainment was absolutely amazing - the dancers were fabulous. Worth it for the show.

This is a classic speak easy bar, where you can enjoy a nice drink, good retro music and excellent ambiance

Stopped in after dinner for some cocktails. Waited outside on a short line to get in. We scored two couches in the center behind the copper bathtub. The staff was very accommodating.

Excellent food , atmosphere and definitely book for burlesque nights ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ We went couples , had amazing cocktails and food menu was small but everything we had was delicious

Took a bunch of co-workers here right after a work event around the corner. As many reviews stated - it looks like a coffee shop. And in fact I walked past it in the daytime and you could order coffee there. The bouncers were really polite and since we were a tad early, they asked us to wait outside for a bit. Once inside, it was packed! There is a coat check and you're required to leave coats and bags there. It's free, but they do encourage a tip. We had a reservation and it took about 15 minutes once inside for our table to be ready. The bar area was really crowded, but we were able to get drinks and enjoy the music. We went on a Wednesday so it was a great band. They were so much fun. We were seated and our server was super friendly and really kept on top of things for us. The drinks were delicious. Many of us ordered food and while the menu is limited, the food was very good. The fries were the best I've had in a long time. And we just enjoyed the music. It's a very small club. The band was literally at our table with us, but we didn't mind. It was such a fun atmosphere. They do keep you to a certain period of time so you can waste away the whole evening there. And they do operate on reservations. My colleagues are still talking about what fun they had here.

No no no it’s not a speakeasy. It’s a 20 something bar with a non descriptive entrance. They have a DJ playing 80s music. Drinks are inventive. Decibels average 90.2. It’s loud in here. You yell to be heard across a table of 2. No speakeasy vibe but if you want to hang with your friends talk loud and drink come here. The only thing “speakeasy” about the place is the hidden door.

Pretentious and rude with misleading reservations for the show - don’t bother going. We booked a table for the 9:30pm show and there was no communication that we would have to leave by 9pm until we arrived at the venue. The staff then said that we should give up our table and sit by the bar if we want to see the show. We followed this recommendation and waited for a bar table. After an hour we got a bar table and sat down. The same hostess then advised this would also need to be vacated at 9. We left at this point out of frustration. As we arrived a lady was also leaving out of frustration with rudeness of staff, this should’ve been a sign for us to turn around. Also on entry everyone must pay $2 per cost to be hung up, this was made clear it was mandatory.

One of the first speakeasy bars that id been to, was impressed the first time I went in when there was no crowd. Great list of cocktails and there indeed is a bathtub in the middle. 3 stars only bcoz the staff were rude the second time I came in when there were more people and basically left the place as quickly as possible.

We had the best time here for drinks. We were greeted by the friendliest door man and front of house gent (sorry we didn’t get your names). The door man had a good chat with us whilst we waited for space at the bar. We were then greeted by the front of house gent who asked about our holiday. We told we were celebrating our engagement that had happened whilst on holiday and they were so kind to us. We had the best experience. Mario the bar man was also incredible and made us feel so welcome. If you go to any bar in New York, make sure it’s this one!

What an amazing time we had here. Birthday celebration night for me while spending 5 days in NYC with my husband. I had done a bit of research while in the UK and this place kept coming up. I had a few emails with them which were always answered very quickly, despite the time difference, and always with a lovely cheerful tone. We didn't eat there just had some amazing cocktails. Photos taken in the bathtub, such a fun place. We met the loveliest group of girls from Toronto and had a brilliant time. Roll on our next New York adventure which will most definitely include anothee visit to this gem of a place.

If you want the full on novelty of the hidden speakeasy, this will satisfy you. I previously have been to Death and Co. but they aren't 'hidden'. Here you pass through a fake cofee shop, great for if you wanted to show your friends/take someone out and want the thrills of that kind of place. As always- low lighting, and you're pretty much there for $16 cocktails - this to me is standard for these sorts of places. We were there early in the evening and on a day without the burlesque on (shame). So saw the bathtub, and a group of blokes stood in it, but thats the extent of that. Its a much smaller place than i imagined, so i can see why booking is recommended (i did book, but about 30mins to 1hr prior). It loses score points for me because I really struggled to find a cocktail I wanted to try. I was well aware they are Gin based, but if like me you are a fan of the 'red' flavours: strawberry/cranberry etc... you'll be disappointed. I chose a prosecco with orange oil and grenadine which was nice though. Glad i've been, think it ticks boxes for what its there for. Think it would have been better on a more eventful evening. Considering it being quiet, were were sat very close to other couples... if you're not into people loudly talking over music (it was disco style) and hearing it all, this isn't for you. One girl at the bar had a cracking voice that permiated the room! (But that's not this place's fault..)

No reservations, but they were able to seat us for 90 minutes for some drinks with friends. Loved the friendly bathroom attendant who was attentive without being in the way. Had a Venmo option for tips! We also enjoyed our banter with the reception /security staff when entering and exiting this great speakeasy.

This bar might be many things but not a speakeasy. It's a club filled with barely legal people. No conversations are possible due to the volume and the menu is overcrowded with exotic cocktails far off from the expectations of "the best gin bar in town". It has a novel entry way through a coffee shop but that's about it. Absolute waste of time to wait in line and take the cab ride there.

Fantastic speakeasy style cocktail bar completely hidden away behind the false facade of a coffee merchants. Booking is mandatory I believe as if you're not on the list the big guy on the door isn't going to let you in. Once inside you experience what it must have been like back in the day, hot, sweaty, noisy. Great!

This place did not disappoint! We made a reservation about a week or 2 in advance online. Really enjoyed our food and cocktails! Service was awesome!! It is NOT an original speakeasy from prohibition era, however is decorated to fit the theme and done in a warm and non-commercial non-touristy way. Totally worth the experience!

As I love speak easy bars, Bathtub Gin was already a long time on my wishlist & I did not regret it. Vibrant atmosphere, beautiful service, great food & fine setting. I also have to mention the restroom VIP-treatment which is more & more common in NYC. Make a reservation in advance because tables are limited.

Visited on a recommendation and was really looking forward to visiting this ‘Speak Easy’ bar (a first for us) I booked the night before and we headed down on the night. Great first impressions when we entered and we was seated on a small table opposite the bar. We had to squeeze in between another couple on the raised seating. We ordered Gin (of course) and the drinks were good. We ordered food. I had a burger and even though I ate the actual burger I left the bun that it was in as they had burnt it and the taste of the burn bread was too overpowering. I couldn’t get anyone’s attention as it was so busy. It wasn’t until our table was cleared when I mentioned that although the burger and drinks where nice the bun had been over toasted. The waitress didn’t even apologise and just said I’ll mention it to the chef. We then waited 20mins with empty glasses and seemed to be ignored. We got fed up and I was getting aggravated and just wanted to leave now as no apology and then being ignored. I grabbed some other waitress and asked for the bill before we left to go somewhere else. I was hoping to stay and spend the whole evening in there as they had a soul band on that was really good. But we was really put out from the experience. All in all a nice place and I still would recommend to others to visit. We was very disappointed with the evening and if ever back in NYC we’d end up to other Speak Easy bars that we visited.

No pics as inside was pretty dark. Thought we were bound to talent spot George Clooney or Brad Pitt, alas no. Great gin menu and extensive menu for other alcohol. Nice share platters. It was busy and crammed. From the street the location looks like a coffee shop. Big security dude out the front who opens the door and offered to take our jackets, and a back door opens and that is bathtub gin. Gold coloured bathtub in middle of floor. Good for a photo shoot.

Ok, it's not as super-secret as some other speakeasy bars around town. It's technically "hidden" behind a fake wall of a coffee shop but when we went the shop was closed and there was a bouncer at the outer door anyhow, so the "secret speakeasy" vibe was not really present. However, the drinks were good and generously poured. About $18 ea, which is less than some other speakeasy establishments. If you like french fries, do order some here. I think they were made with truffle oil -- delish! The vibe is lively and the place is nicely decorated. Of course they have a huge bathtub too, which you can sit in for pix. It's a pretty tight space in the age of COVID, but it did feel like there was some air circulation going on. Still, most tables are very close to one another.

This hidden bar offers great cocktails to everyone's tastes but it is fairly small so make sure you make a reservation. The did looked great as well so you can combine drinks with dinner if you'd like.

We loved our visit to Bathtub Gin. We went on a Monday evening. The food was good but the gin blew us away. our waitress was really knowledgeable of all things gin. We tried different guns and found new drinks we loved. All this while listening to amazing live jazz. We will definitely visit here again.

Picked this as a place to take in some NYC Jazz and gin on their Monday night Jazz session. Booked easily online before leaving UK and after the fun of spotting the 'hidden' entrance we found the bar a compact and cosy place with lots of character. Some lovely drinks and great food (must try the wings and truffle fries!!) with some relaxed jazz/swing music. Enjoyed very much

We wanted to do something special in New York for my 65th birthday and as both my husband and I love Gin I thought Bathtub Gin was the perfect place to celebrate. from the gracious and fun gentleman "guarding" the entrance on 9th Avenue we knew we were in for a treat - the entrance through a "coffee shop" further sets up the concept of a speakeasy and then you enter the bar itself - another world. Our lovely waitress was a joy and the gin cocktails simply superb. Food was wonderful and so tasty. Fabulous night of celebration and the photo sitting in the gin bathtub was worth it all ! ! !

Nice athmosphere, super friendly stuff, huge variety of gins,......we came for one beer and stayed for a lot of drinks😊

A hip speak easy that is best to make reservations if you want to get a seat. The drinks are well crafted, and expect to pay bootleg prices, $16. The food is quite good as well.

We went for a late night dinner on a Tueday night and we were surprised with some entertainment. This is a speakeasy so it is a small restauant and bar. The food was very good and the service was excellent. We enjoyed the entertainment. The ambience was great. It was a very fun evening for us. Reservations are recommeneded.

.....however, the drinks were good and served quickly. Very crowded and loud around 8pm, this place appears to be popular among the locals. Maybe it is the secret door you have to enter through, and the doorman that has to approve you, or something. I would have not been into this at all as it was pretentious to me, but wasn't my decision to make. Had drinks only, no food.

We had made reservations and were immediately taken to our booth by the really friendly girl who looked after us all evening - we didn’t eat here but enjoyed several cocktails 🍸 we really liked the feel of this speakeasy and would recommend x

Great drinks and great vibe in the “speakeasy.” But unless you have a table, you are constantly being moved like a cattle car because of the bouncers and their flashlights.

Probably you can not read through all the ingredients, trust the mixiologist. Reminds little of an extra twist on famous classic.Speak easy may not be the correct name of this establishment, the volume of sorrowful guests is high.Stylish decorated room that hides well with its entrance. To be a bar you have a very sympathetic reception in the door

A really cool place..best speakeasy we have been to..really good service and drinks were very good! Definitely worth a visit!

We visited Bathtub Gin on a Monday evening - their jazz night. It completely exceeded our expectations. We loved the speakeasy vibe going through into a dark candlelit room and the staff looked after us really well. Drinks were great, food really lovely but the best thing for us was the live entertainment. The jazz band were excellent. We even met the owners of the bar who were really great and hospitable. Would highly recommend for a good night out with friends.

We were in an Uber for almost an hour to do a 20 minute journey, due to a truck breaking down. I called them to advise and they said it would be up to the manager if we would be let in. We arrived and we had lost our table. As I had booked it, the lady at front of house was very rude to my mother in law and said ‘I’m not talking to you, I will talk to the booker as you aren’t getting what I am saying’ and rolled her eyes when all my mother in law was doing is saying to me ‘we have lost the table’ it’s my mother in laws 60th and for her to be spoken too that way was awful. We were offered a table for 30 minutes, or a table to be sat in a line for an hour. We chose the 30 minute table (as sitting in a line not talking is rubbish) and it then took 20 minutes for our drinks to arrive. My fiancé and I came to New York Christmas 2016 and had a great time here, however I will never return. I get not holding tables and losing money, but we were 4 minutes after the 15 minute hold time. For my mother in law to be spoken too in the way she was, was terrible. As we were only weighing up our options

Far too dark, and the music was so loud we couldn't hear one another talking. Food was ordinary, had a Gin and tonic which was refreshing. Staff were pleasant. Not a good place to catch up with friends. Maybe for the very young.

Bathtub Gin is one of the coolest settings one can imagine for a cocktail lounge. It's like time travelling back to the 1930s. Great setting and awesome drinks.

My friend from Houston has never done NYC. We enjoyed several shows but the highlight of our trip was The Bathtub Gin night spot. The drinks and food are delicious and the music pumping. The General manager does a great job ensuring his customers are well taken care of and even greeted us personally. We are planning a return trip during the warmer months but a very quick cab ride from midtown gets you there in less than ten minutes. I highly recommend this spot for all age groups.

We went to Bathtub Gin for the fun of visiting an old fashioned speakeasy. The only indication that we were heading into anything other than a coffee shop was the bouncer at the door. The hostess opened a hidden door in the wall and showed us to our table. The drinks were a little over priced, but fun and the food was very reasonably priced and the highlight of the visit. Absolutely one of the best burgers I've ever had and delicious truffle fries. Fun atmosphere for a short period of time, but a little loud for an entire evening. Be sure to make a reservation

Stumbled across this place by pure chance! Booked a table for that night for pre dinner drinks. (Booking advised) Address takes you to a coffee shop, to be greeted by a bouncer who then shows you through to the bar. Bar is so cool, great decor, cool cocktails. Returned after dinner for the burlesque show, well worth it.

We had a wonderful experience at Bathtub Gin, so we would like to share it with you. First, we made reservations online, which I highly recommend; it was Saturday night, and there was a line to get in when we arrived. The door staff and hostess were very accommodating and pleasant. We each tried a different gin & tonic and both were fabulous! We also tried the boneless wings, which were tasty. The ambiance resembles a speak easy, you enter through a false door, the lights are low, and the decor speaks to that time.

Whilst visiting New York this is a must, went on a Tuesday night for the burlesque show, would recommend you reserve a table as it got busy, it really is a must do while visiting New York

We arrived at 8pm for our reservation for 7. They sat us at a table that comfortably sat 4-5 and when we said something the about it the host was very nasty saying "this is the best I can do". She offered no suggestions or anything. Anyway we moved on and tried to make the best of it. So we planned to have dinner but they never brought us dinner menus. Despite the fact we were told we only have the table for 1.5 hrs. At 9pm after waiting we went the The Chester a few blocks away and had an amazing time. My suggestion would be to skip this place and try The Chester

A great example of a genuine speakeasy, through a normal looking door in what appears to be a dry cleaning place, jazz and a burlesque show Sundays and Tuesdays, top quality, and not too pricey.

Make sure you know where to find it. Went on a Sunday which includes a show, check it is to your taste. Great cocktails and reasonable food but a great atmosphere.

We had never done a "speakeasy" before so we were happy when this was close to our restaurant for the evening. The bouncer was friendly and didn't take us long to get a seat. The atmosphere was great and the place was packed out. The music also helped set the vibe. The only issue, which came with the numbers, was that we waited nearly 30 minutes before we even got our first drink ordered. A bit of a shame since it meant that cut our time here before our meal. We would have liked to have sampled a few more gins!

If you love yourself and have no personality then this is the place for you. Too dark, too loud, too overpriced and I couldn’t wait to leave. In the UK these businesses wouldn’t last long. The food menu looks good on paper but like the environment your in once delivered to your table your left unfulfilled and disappointed. My wife probably thinks the same about me! I ‘get’ the concept and idea but be warned this will not be what your hoping for.

The Bathtub Gin is a clandestine restaurant (speakeasy) very well decorated (1920's style). We liked the staff who was really friendly. We were there for a Sunday brunch to see the burlesque performance. The burlesque was good though only 3 performers were present that day. The 3 performances lasted in total less than 20 minutes. We were disappointed about the food (quite expensive and the quality was not there).

I was a little disappointed. My Negroni was very syrupy and i want a balanced cocktail for that price. It may have been the summer but it was a very young 20s crowd when I was there on a friday summer night. Though it was packed so def head there if that is your demographic!

Especially awesome when shows are preforming! Bartenders knowledge of older pre prohibition drinks/cocktails is fantastic. Go with friends from out of town, it's a nice venue. Half the fun is finding it! Also, the bar is so full of all sorts of fun syrups and brandies....

The faux speakeasy entrance, the club decore, the occasional feathered strippers — this place was designed for fun and did not disappoint when we had to move a surprise birthday party here on short notice. It’s a bit cramped, but that does serve to draw everyone closer! Solid mixology and savory bits make for a winning combo!

We walked past it twice and then saw people in a queue for a coffee shop that doesn't serve any coffee.... Standing place only when you pitch with-out a booking and between 5-6pm which wasn't a problem for us as that was what we were looking for. Gin Gin Cup and the Trio of Gin's was our poison for the quick drink and was really nice and difference. The bathroom service is an add on to the rest of the ambiance. If you look for a quick drink and quaint setting, pop in here, if you can find it :)

A great restaurant/bar in the style of a speakeasy. Glad i'd looked it up before we went or I would have walked straight by the coffee shop exterior. It was fun to be in 'the coffee shop' then have a hostess appear from behind a hidden door which leads you down stairs to the real Bathtub Gin. A jazz band was playing when we were there which was great, the cocktails we had were lovely and we shared a few snacks too. We had a table booked which I recommend as it was very busy. Would come back on a return visit to NYC and have a proper dinner.

Visited while on a family trip to NYC. We love to try creative fresh craft cocktails! Our experience here was much less than expected. The entry is cute - entrance hidden behind pretend coffee bar. The check in experience was not welcoming. Even with a reservation and no line - we were made to feel like we were "lucky" to get in ( and told when they expected us to leave by) For our first round we ordered one drink off the menu (18th amendment or something) and requested one bourbon drink with orange - bar tenders choice. Well - menu drink was decent although a bit heavy and unbalanced - second drink was a very poorly made bourbon sour - no orange at all that separated. Net net - wait staff don't understand cocktails and / or bartenders have no creativity. Look for another spot if not drinking gin or not ordering off the menu! #disappointed

Always have this joint on our list of must-dos every time we visit NY and we weren't disappointed with this visit. Took some friends who thought the whole entrance via Stone St coffee was pretty cool. Nice ambience in the bar and great list of cocktails to get through. Would advise booking in advance to guarantee a table as it can get pretty busy in there, especially for the burlesque show on a Sunday. Wouldn't say it's particularly cheap but then this is NY!! Only negative was that my friend left his umbrella at the coat check and it went missing - not ideal on a rainy NY night. Here's to karma catching up with whoever swiped it.

Recommend by a friend and we weren’t disappointed. If your a Gin man like myself then you will be in heaven, however, there is a comprehensive cocktail list which my wife demolished and seemed very pleased with. We didn’t eat but the food looked fantastic. Book online well in advance as the place is heaving and I recommend you take ID with you as a precaution. My advice eat in advance as there is some potent blends that will ruin you if your not carful. I would say one for the drinks connoisseur with a fantastic ambience and a must do if your visiting NYC.

Amazing, such fun. Go to a coffee shop and enter a bar that is full of such great atmosphere. Expensive but good.

We were told about this place by others and made a booking online about a month before. All we knew was that it was a burlesque bar. When we got to the address we couldn't see the entrance. Just when we thought we were lost this big bouncer dude came out and asked "were we looking for the Bathtub Gin club?" We went into the 'coffee shop' entrance and once scrutinised a 'secret passage' door opened into the 'speakeasy' club. It was absolutely out of this world...what great start! The cocktails, food staff, and entertainment were wonderful. It was burlesque so it is risqué but it was also tasteful. This is a must while visiting NYC.

What more is there to say -- if you like martinis and gin, this is the spot. Dark bar. Plays up the speakeasy theme with a fake storefront on the 9th Ave. and doorman. We will go back.

Looking for a place for a nightcap after dinner our local hosts suggested Bathtub Gin. You enter a small room off the street that looks like a coffee shop during the day, but there was no one in it! A tap on the door at the back, a check if ID, and you enter into an amazing Gin bar / speak easy. We were there on a Monday night and there was a live Jazz singer who was great! Pages of Gin cocktails, how could you go wrong.

A nice, hidden place where you can eat, drink and listen jazz music. Drinks were fine but the food was average. Service was polite. The place is a little bit dark and the live music is very loud so it is very hard to talk to your friends.

We made a same-day reservation and arrived on time. Love the entrance through the coffee shop front; makes it feel like you’re going somewhere during prohibition. The very large doorman was completely pleasant, as was the hostess, who apologized a few times for our very short wait on a Saturday night. The music was awesome, reminiscent of the roaring 20s; if it had been live or there had been room to dance, we might never have left. Drinks are $16, but they’re absolutely delicious. My musket was a great gin-spin on the old fashioned, so I had a second. My wife’s gin gin cup was equally well presented and tasty. The small plates were all really good - we had almonds, shrimp po boy sliders (my personal favorite), a charcuterie platter, and a salad (the dressing was heavenly). There’s a decent chance we’ll end up there again soon...

Made a reservation here on a Tuesday night and came to find out that was the night they has a burlesque show, which made the night more entertaining. Everyone (six people) got two drinks which were all wonderful and unique but a bit pricy. I would recommend going to this speakeasy if you are enjoy gin (they have other liquors as well) and are looking for an old timey bar. I would love to go back next time I am in New York.

Prohibition bar, with speakeasy access. I managed to persuade my partner that this was a must. We were not disappointed the place isn’t big but that adds to the atmosphere. We sat at the bar and the waiters were very entertaining and friendly. There was a burlesque show on when we arrived, great night and glad we made the time to go to.

The modern roaring 20’s is here. It is crowded but you can make a reservation for a table or just que up outside to get a spot at the bar. It’s a fun spot with a good vibe for prohibition drinks.

My hairdresser, in England, told me about Bathtub gin and I booked it a week before our arrival in NYC, for Christmas. On the confirmation email it warned that they would hold the table for 15 minutes and that, on arrival, it would be ours for a two hour slot. We duly arrived and, as with a lot of other reviewers, couldn't, at first, find it but then noticed a couple of people inside a tiny coffee shop doorway with, what looked like, "32" written above the door (Must have been missing the No.1 as the address is 132 9th Avenue). Once through the door the atmosphere was buzzing - and very crowded. We were practically elbow-distance from our neighbours but this just added to the crazy vibe of the place. Staff were running around, clearly run off their feet. However, service was with a smile and, unlike some of the reviews I've read, just really busy & definitely not rude at all. Food was ok and the range of cocktails great. However, it was the overall vibe of the place; it was 'jumping'. A great range of music throughout the evening. I would definitely recommend The Bathtub as an alternative the the usual bars and clubs; it really did have a 'different' atmosphere to the norm. Our table slot should have finished at 9 but it was about 9.20 when we were, politely, reminded that we would need to vacate our seats and were invited to sit up at the bar instead. The young couple at the next table said they had already gone over their seating time by nearly 40 minutes & no-one had rushed to make them move. A word of warning: Make sure you have some I.D. My husband had his driving licence but I didn't have anything & the doorman was huffing and tutting about whether he could let me in. However, this was done with a half-smile and definitely not hostile, rude or intimidating. I would most certainly put the Bathtub gin on your list of places to visit, if you're looking for something a bit edgy and different.

I would go again as the atmosphere, decor, menu and choice of cocktails are unique. However the 2 hour time slot stated on their website is actually 90 minutes and you hope that the service will be quick as you are left in no doubt that you will be asked to leave after 90 minutes In our case the check was presented after 80 minutes and we had our third reminder that we had to leave in 10. This was frustrating as there were several empty tables and no one waiting to come in when we left However service from the waiting team was good as were the cocktails

We had looked this place up on line and had the address but took a couple of passes to realize the large security guard at the doorway to a coffee bar was the clue to finding it. He was actually quite charming as he carded all of us then showed us into the small shop where a hostess escorted us through a door into surprisingly large bar. We had a booth and sampled several gin cocktails. They were all good. Our favorite involved bergamot. Service was very friendly and welcoming. A great find, worth the effort.

Stopped in for a drink before dinner. Early-ish on a Saturday night and didn't have a reservation, but they gave us a table anyway, however, warned that they "needed the table back in 1 hour". No problem as we're not planning to stay that long anyway. Drinks were just OK. This place is more about the experience. False front of a coffee shop with hidden door, speakeasy decor, etc. Fun for a one-time visit, but would not hurry back.

We were taken here by our 20-something nephew and enjoyed it thoroughly. The speakeasy atmosphere is maintained (could have focused the music a tad more) and the selection of drinks intriguing and delicious. The small plates were also delicious...although the pricing made it a bit steep to make a dinner of it. We enjoyed it thoroughly and would return. NB: ALL will be asked for ID (part of the game)

We stopped for drinks before dinner without a reservation but were lucky to get in after being vetted by the doorman. The sign above the door reads The Stone Coffee Company. When you check in your coats you need to take a photo of the hanger and produce it as proof when you leave. I was hoping to get the very popular UK Bathtub gin but was educated that the name came from the poor quality of alcohol during prohibition times. We started with a Bathtub Gin all the same which was made from Brooklyn Gin with Seasonal blended house made tonic and fresh mint - very refreshing! We then shared a carafe of 1910 Martini made with Nolet’s Dry Gin and Carpano Dry Vermouth, served with Raspberry and Trists of Lemon Peel - slipped down very nicely. The was was dimly lit - nice background music and very good atmosphere. Service very friendly. Very extensive drink menu - so have to come back and try some more!

Great vibe, good drinks and so much fun! Great spot to not miss! Love the bathtub . Great memory shots!

My friends invited me to this great spot to chill and just laugh and enjoy a perfectly prepared white ladybug cocktail. Would recommend it any day!

My boyfriend & I visited during our short break to NYC on the back of a recommendation & I have to say it was a great suggestion. Hidden away like a old fashioned prohibition bar, it serves a great range of gin cocktails amongst others & they are quite potent! Would highly recommend visiting .... if you can find it!

We were tipped off about this place and I am so grateful for the tip! We managed to reserve a table for the Burlesque show on a Sunday night and I can highly recommend it. My first time watching Burlesque and it was SO entertaining! The compare was hilarious and the girls were absolutely amazing! So confident, so body positive, the girls were so inspiring. Cocktails were really good with an extensive menu and the charcuterie was also very good. well worth a visit and I will definitely be returning in the future. A real gem.

We didn’t make a reservation so was unsure if we would actually get in but we had no trouble at all on a Monday night. Pulled up outside a small coffee shop so was a little confused at first! After the friendly doorman checked our ID he opened up a door in the wall of the shop and it was like walking into a different world! Dim lighting and plush decoration made it very cosy, it was busy but not too busy and we were able to get a seat near the bar. It’s not the cheapest place but it’s well worth it for the experience!

If you guys don’t know what are the speakeasy bars in New York, please go check it out Bathtub Gin. A very cool place. The owner Mark, is cool and gentle. Very particular bar of New York. Good food and good drinks. Silvio, from Italy/France.

We went to this fun Speakeasy with a reservation at when they open for the evening. At the magic hour, a staff will come out and let you in a group at a time. Through a secret door, a whole different world opens up before you. Dim lights and romantic antique decor, you are transported to the twenties. And true to their name, they have a bathtub in there. You can take all sorts of fun pictures with, in, or around this beautiful clawfoot bathtub. We sure did! For drinks, we each ordered a different cocktail. We got Giggle Juice, a mystery cocktail with egg white, Porter’s Tropical Old Tom Gin, and Bombay Premier Cru Gin & Matcha. Giggle Juice was very pineapple-y. Sweet but not overly sweet, tropical and fruity. So tasty! My husband loves a cocktails with egg white on top, so he asked about it. Our server recommended a cocktail that they can make, but not on the menu. It was really great! Porter’s Tropical Old Tom Gin was nice and tropical, refreshing, and with a little kick. Bombay Premier Cru Gin & Matcha had a nice hint of matcha flavor, but not so present. This one was elegant, fruity, and so tasty! They sure make amazing cocktails here!! For food, we ordered a few items to share. Truffle Agnolotti, Royale with Cheese, and Oysters Rockefeller. They were all amazingly delicious! We enjoyed them all so much, and the portion size was pretty nice too. Totally shareable. We were super happy with the quality, flavor, and the portion. We then ordered BTG Espresso Martini and S’mores Old-Fashioned, we of course enjoyed both cocktails so much! We also added a couple of dishes, Wedge Salad and Shrimp Toast. We were once again amazed at how tasty they were, happily surprised! Since were having such an amazing time here, we decided to get some desserts to end the evening. We ordered NYC Cheesecake which was not your average cheesecake, and yes, delicious! The second item was Affogato, that came in a tea cup which was adorable, and then last but not least, S’mores, which was a real deal, make-your-own-S’mores experience. It was so much fun! Who knew you could roast your own marshmallow in a speakeasy??? This place rocked! We had a massive fun time here. The service was friendly, efficient, and we were always taken well care of. Once thing to note, the gratuity of 20% was added to our bill, which we were more than happy to oblige. The manager made sure that we were aware of it, so that we don’t add another 20%. Very considerate. All the drinks and food we had were really good, we were all happy and full. We would definitely go back for more fun time in the future!

Loved this funky, classical but modern Speakeasy Bar, hidden behind a Coffee Shop. Definitely make a booking. Stayed for dinner and multiple cocktails, Ivory Key cocktail was the very best I had in all of NYC! Shame we didn't visit on a night that the burlesque performance was on, but worth the visit regardless. Would recommend and revisit :)

Went on a burlesque night which was a hoot. Great compere who hit up good rapport with the audience, and four different dancers who certainly entertained. The bathtub in the middle of the floor made a good prop. Great selection of gins, some slightly more unusual ones and some excellent ones. The food is surprisingly good, was expecting fast food processed but instead the salad was fresh and crisp with a lovely vinaigrette.

Came here with a group of girls for a quick drink before dinner and I ordered the gin gin cup - such a wonderfully refreshing drink!! One of the girls I was with tried it and perfectly summed it up by saying it tasted like "nature in a cup" :)

We wanted a good gin joint, and we got one. A real speakeasy experience and we also had an incredible jazz band huddled on the centre stage for the evening. The food was amazing (s’mores for dessert is an experience). The drinks were.... copious and damned good. This is a must experience!

For those who don't know about the concept, Speakeasy's are also called blind pig or blind tiger, inspired by the hidden spots to get a drink during the Prohibition in the 1920s.The history of the place goes that as gin was the predominant drink in the US "Bathtub gin" was developed in response to the poor-quality of alcohol that was available; the sale or manufacture of distilled alcohol of prohibited at the time. Speakeasy are often nothing more than a none descript door. For Bathtub gin there is no exception to that rule. No sign boards outside, tip look for a coffee shop on 136 9th Ave. Inside a a cool burlesque bar awaits with great cocktails and if you are lucky you might just catch a jazz or burlesque show. we ordered a Dusky Lory ($16) and Allagash White ($10). Don't forget to tip :)

We totally enjoyed our experience here. We arrived at their 5 pm opening in hopes of beating some of the noise of a crowded venue- and we did. Service was friendly and prompt, the door man, hat check person, the waiter. He was knowledgeable and helpful about the many choices of gin from around the world. The table reservation was for 2 hours but there was the option of standing in the bar area if we wanted to stay longer. Our drinks were delicious and we had a wonderful time. Would definitely return- a reservation is necessary.

We were really looking forward to coming here after reading the reviews but to be honest we wish we hadn’t bothered. The doorman wasn’t going to leave us in as we didn’t have i.d ( we’re both in our forties and rarely carry it ) but he did us a favour.. this once... Drinks are overpriced. The barmen were nice and but that was the only redeeming feature. Go to it if you’re close by but don’t if you have to travel a distance like we did.

I almost don't want to tell you how much we loved this restaurant, but they deserve good press. If you like fun, interesting experiences and gin or other cocktails you have to go here. Step 1) make a reservation Step 2) get there on time Step 3) order your drink. The small plates were delicious try the short rib sliders, cheese & jambon. My drink was The Swordsman. Enjoy!

Not sure why the LA location doesn't show up on trip advisor searches But it should. Open just over a year ago, it too is a cool speak easy experience ...... in Los Angeles . Melrose street location , unmarked door beside a Blockbuster Video pop up bar - the upstairs atmosphere is perfectly done. The Gin collection is solid 30ish and growing according to the bartenders. Some hard to find Australian Gins. Food was good , entertainment entertaining and all staff exceptional. We really enjoyed a great evening. Shoot out to Erica who was a delightful server and knowledgeable about the Gins. Must make a reservation .

We got to go here with family for a Saturday night out. Amazing cocktails and surprising surrounding of elegance. We would have never thought that a hidden room at the back of the little coffee shop would prove to be unforgettable. Would definitely be up for coming back ! But it’s just the Atlantic Ocean in the way

This is a magical kind of place. ree mindss me what it might havee been like during the prohibition. Entering in a private door through another business. Enter a whole new world. The cocktails are of course Gin based however they do have a whole bar with otherr libations offered. This does give it a bit more mainstream appeal. Challenging to get a table as it is a small place buy they have made the most of it. I enjoyed our waitress and the bartender very much I suggest the gin drinks after all thats why your there!

This is such a fun place, fronted by a coffee shop, the speakeasy is behind a door and is kitted our beautifully. The bar staff were very good, making cocktails off menu and the music was fab! I’d go back if we go to NY again!

I want to jump right into my review by speaking about the bathtub which was the highlight of my visit. It was the center attraction for every patron that surrounded my table. Of course it was the reason why I came. I took a great pic in the bathtub. I would suggest making reservations on a Saturday. I didn’t make reservations and the guy/bouncer at the door was kind enough to let my party of 3 in. I did see a lot of birthday patrons. It’s small inside. However, there are a few tables to accommodate parties of about 5 people. The bathrooms is cute and the bathtub sink was such a nice touch. My party ordered calamari, boneless chicken with tai sauce, truffle fries and a ribeye entree. The only reason I gave this establishment 3 stars is because of the food. The food was literally a 2 out of 5. The steak was the best food item we ordered and it was a tad bit salty while the apps were bland with no salt at all. Sauces usually makes things better. The sauces weren’t good either. The staff was super nice and helpful. I missed the venue initially as it was inside a coffee shop. I would come here again only for the cocktails and bathtub.

A friend told me about this place and made a reservation for me and my husband. He told us it was a speakeasy but we didn’t know what to expect. Overall, I am very pleased we went. It was fun and unique. I am not sure if you can go without a reservation as you need to give your name at the door to “get in”. Totally quiet out front but it was a vibrant and full of people once inside. There was a live band the night we went. The food is of a higher quality but the portions are small. Prices are... typical New York prices. The drinks were great and so was the service. I would take friends here for a different kind of night out.

Came for the new years eve party. Amazing evening. Taster style food service was great. Show was fantastic, and most of all the cocktails were fabulous. The serving staff worked their butts off to look after everyone and our waitress, Charity was terrific. Saw in the new year in style with dancing and champagne. Our favourite cocktail bar in NYC, we keep coming back.

Really quirky speakeasy. I thought about going here as it was near where we had dinner - you had to enter through a room which was good, but took ages to find! Lol. The drinks were amazing, and they do a show with women dancing in and around a large bathtub, which sounds weird but it was so tasteful and professional - was really impressed! Again book a table as it gets really busy.

I reserved a table 3/4 weeks in advance and was looking forward to this place. At the start it was ok, there is very little to choose from on the menu so be aware of that. Our waitress started to ignore us (trying to act/look busy when she wasn’t) our table needed cleared for about 30 minutes and this was obvious. We would have got a desert if we had of had better service. I also asked for the WiFi password as when in the USA it is a fortune to use data when roaming. She clearly forgot to get this, and when we were leaving she said made a snide remark “at least you two talked.” Really disappointed, don’t recommend in the slightest.

Think boardwalk empire, cocktails and swing. This bar is a great hidden gem in NYC, the cocktails are on point and served with a kick!

This place is awesome! I went here with a friend trying to get away from the busy New York streets. The ambiance is quiet, the staff were friendly and extremely efficient and the drinks are mixed to perfection.

Emailed staff to book reservation for the burlesque got back to us the next day What a absolutely fantastic night staff and host brilliant and the show was amazing Food very good service excellent Thank you all at the bathtub gin for a fantastic evening

This restaurant was really fun with a "speak easy" feel in the sense that you enter through a coffee shop. We had a reservation, and shared the Burrata and cheese appetizer, rib eye steak, fries and s'mores. It was phenomenal. The drinks were okay, I like gin, but I did not enjoy the combination of cucumber and elderflower, but that is a personal preference. The service could have been better, our waitress was more interested in flirting with other tables, and it took ages to bring our bill, but i think is a MUST for NYC

Walked past the entrance two times, but then found the black entrance door. Cosy, dark and kind of mysterious ambiance inside, like a gentlemen’s club. Managed to get a table without reservation but we were lucky. Good cocktails but not the greatest. Nice live music!

This place was recommended to us to go and try it out. We had spent the day in the area and wandered over at 5:00. We were asked if we had reservations, which we did not, but they let us in until the next party arrived at the table they sat us at, which was 6:15. We had two superb drinks. Loved this place and would highly recommend it to others. It was so much fun!

Was so looking forward to going here but was sadly very disappointed. Our hotel was on the other side of New York so we travelled to get there. The reviews had been very good so I was hoping it would live up to them.... it didn’t! After walking past once, we went to open the door to be told we had to wait outside while 3 others inside were checking their coats, we were then allowed in, only to be asked for ID, maybe this is meant to be part of the whole speakeasy theme but the guy on the door was very rude and abrupt. As we are both in our mid 40’s, we don’t carry photo ID normally and I only had a card with my name and dob on it, he said he “would let it slide this time”. Once you got inside the bar staff were very nice and had a extensive drinks menu but overpriced in my opinion. We had 1 drink and left, would not recommend it at all.

What an amazing find! From the outside we were a little 'put off' but as ever looks are deceiving. This feels like an old American speak easy - dark velvet wallpaper, old fashioned light shades... you get the picture. The bar has an amazing selection of gins and vodkas- the martinis are very good! The menu is small but the food is so good! The wine list has some fab Washington state chardonnay and pinot noir! This is a must if in NYC!

A fabulous night. Miss Peekaboo Pointe and Miss Poison Ivory certainly lived up to the fine print on the ticket: Don't touch the dancers, but the dancers might touch you. This is a quality venue. Server was excellent, food value for money. Burlesque entertainment of the highest class. No surprise to find Miss Peekaboo Pointe has a master degree in the creative arts.

This is the kind of place that is unforgettable. An old speakeasy, quite far out from the main streets of Manhattan, hidden behind a coffee shop facade, we originally walked passed forgetting it was a hidden bar. The bar is everything I hoped it would be, 1920s vibes and decor and a friendly atmosphere. As I don’t drink I was initially worried by the drinks menu as no alcohol free options but the helpful waitress (whose name began with K) just kept bringing me different variations of mocktails from the bar-all of which were delicious. Had we not been full from our dinner we would have got some food here as it looked delicious and fun, particularly the s’mores. The best part of course was the Burlesque show. The dancers and the compère were brilliant and we just had a lot of fun. So random but such a brilliant and enjoyable evening, Will recommend this place to anyone going to NYC as such a hidden gem. Thanks for a great evening.

Being from out of town my colleagues and I were looking for something different in the city - we found it here! I missed the point that this was a speakeasy when we showed up and couldn't find a sign out front - good thing the address was well lit and we were greeted by a big doorman that added to the effect. The 8 of us **squeezed** into a booth meant for 4 but it was well worth it for the great cocktails (very knowledgeable staff on the cocktails) and simple food (I hate pesto but the pesto spaghetti was awesome!). We had several other smaller dishes to nosh on, which were all very good. Also expect to check your bag at the entrance.

Bathtub gin is a great little place hidden away from the busy streets! I took my mum and she was so confused where we were as I said we were going to a bar! The cocktails are amazing and not over priced like most places in NY! The staff were great and offered me recommendations when I could decide what to have! I would definitely recommend this place for fun drinks. The only thing I would say is that it is a bit cramped as there are so many tables close together but I suppose that's part of the charm.

An atypical place, in a warm Mood with a very nice decoration. A pleasant feeling of nostalgia that traces very well this period of prohibition. the only problem was cocktails. Very well elaborated with a staging of bartenders. But the gin was visibly diluted with water.

We’d heard of New York’s hidden Speakeasies, so this was on our ‘to do’ list. We found the Bath Tub via TripAdvisor, and reserved our table on the Friday evening. We queued at the coffee shop outside and were invited in for gin by the friendly doormen outside. The staff were delighted very welcoming. As well as phenomenal cocktails. The Bathtub offer a great selection of of small plates. I had the fish tacos, and my husband enjoyed his plate of sliders with truffle fries, The cocktails were the best I’ve ever had. The Bathtub is a vibrant atmospheric bar, which should be a must on a visit to New York.

Officially my favorite bar of all time. Speak-easy vibe, great staff, wonderful drinks, 70's music - kicking it. Will be back

We went Sunday night and had a great time. The burlesque show was awesome and the host who introduced the girls was funny. She did a great job. The staff is helpful and very friendly. Our waitress told us what their drinks tast like to help us decide which drinks to try. The drinks and food are really good. We ordered ribeye steak and fries and the steak was soft. The only con is you can't take pictures of the girls, which is fine. I was sort of hoping after the show they would pose in front of the tub so people can take pictures or that they can walk around and pose with people, but its not a big deal. The atmosphere is amazing and it's a must do.

My daughter has a knack for finding fun and unique places for cocktails, this place being no exception! We had reservations for late afternoon. We walked into a tiny "coffee shop" and was greeted by a personable large bouncer. The hostess opened the door which led to the 1920's decor speakeasy bar/restaurant complete with a copper bathtub. The cocktail menu didn't just feature gin but other unique cocktails with a description of all the ingredients. We told her what we liked in a cocktail and she was spot on as to our drink selection. Highly recommend going here!
Different experience
What a fantastic atmosphere the club was full and full of laughter and joy.The night we went was a Burlesque show this was okay but sitting on the top bar we did not really get to see the performers .
