John G served us an amazing porterhouse steak, crab cocktail, Wine etc. The manager John C is a first class Manager providing such amazing personal experience.

When the word ‘steakhouse’ is in the name, expectations are high. Although the steak was good, it didn’t blew me off my feet. Although the service was very good, the general verdict is that this place is too expensive for the food you’ll get. Good, but given the pricing, we did expect more.

The porterhouse is thick, tasty, and impressive, albeit priced like the skyscrapers of Manhattan - very high. The side of broccoli was excellent - crisp and crunchy. The creme brulee is a nice ending, with an accompanying side bowl of cream to make sure you have enough calories!

Pleasant surprise. Not a fancy atmosphere but really high quality food (meat restaurant) and service. Decently priced. After discovering this restaurant I won’t return to Smith&Wollensky.

The staff at our hotel in NYC recommended Benjamin's for a special meal, so we asked them to book a table for two. On arrival we were shown to our table by one of the waiting staff. It was a nice and old-fashioned place that was tastefully decorated and eas really classy. The waiter was superb. Very friendly and very knowledgeable, although he didn't write our order down at all. We had the Canadian bacon for starter, and I've had smaller pork chops!! It was huge. Very tasty, though, and perfectly cooked. My wife ordered the fillet mignon, and I had the rib eye. I had hashbrowns (but PROPER hashbrowns), and my wife had fries. Dessert was creme brulee which was the perfect finale to a perfect meal. Was rather pricey, but worth it for the quality and quantity we had. The best steak we've ever had. As for the waiter not writing our order down, he knew exactly what was what and showed his knowledge of the menu. A perfect meal while being in NYC for our anniversary.

A very traditional steak house. Lovely cocktails to start the evening and a huge bread basket. As you would expect the steaks are cooked as requested. All round a good steak house

A dark place that has two floors, there are many waiters running from one side to the other. Great meat, we took a pothouse steak (minimum 2 people) and it was cooked very well, it cut like butter and great flavor. As a side dish we took the potatoes with blue cheese (like gorgonzola), also good this. Wine a Pinot Noir from Oregon (deserves, $99). Total bill $296. Ribs, but great meat. By a Milanese milanist

Top quality steaks, excellent service, awesome place, priced accordingly and worth every penny. No matter what steaks you order they will be prepared to perfection.

My fiancé and I had breakfast at the steak House and it did not disappoint. Although it was expensive it was worth it with great service and a really nice atmosphere.

Nice place for business meetings. Classic NY Steakhouse! Great food and excellent service! Great wine list. Definitely going back very soon.

For the past dozen years my husband and I travel from Texas to NYC just before Christmas. We celebrate Christmas eve with a fabulous dinner at Benjamin Steakhouse. The shrimp cocktail is always fresh; the ceasar salad tasty; the vegetables wonderful and the Porterhouse for 2 is cooked to perfection!! Our only disappointment is that they have not opened a restaurant in the north Dallas area. Our waiter, Johnny G. was very polite and attentive!

Great restaurant, elegant and refined, in central Mid town NYC, great sirloin steak served on hot plate and freshly cut by staff with added cooking sauce. Excellent wine list. Mid-range prices but justified for quality, friendly staff, fast service times, I highly recommend it for a good dining experience.

"Average" seems to be the claim to fame for NYC steakhouses. Despite serving prime, the steaks aren't particularly tender. This place is strange in that they don't even offer a strip on the menu.I had the filet (medium rare), which came terribly overcooked. The manager did have a new one prepared, which was correctly cooked on the second try. It was fine but nothing I'd write home about. 4 slices of tomato and 4 slices of onion are considered a salad here and you'll be charged an exorbitant sum for that dollars worth of vegetable. The staff was a bit flustered and forgetful. Understandable given this was at the beginning of the NYC coronavirus outbreak/shutdown. After an average meal we had a slice of cheesecake on the house. The manager was kind and apologetic and clearly wanted us to leave with a good experience. We did but average food is still average food and I don't see why we would go back when there are other steakhouses to try.

There’s not a more exciting steak restaurant in town, at least for me. From The moment you walk in you are treated like a celebrity. The wait staff are highly prepared from taking your order to serving you, and return almost magically the instant you care for seconds! The meat and sides are cooked to perfection and if by some aberration they’re not, they make it right without hesitation. It’s not a 10... it’s a 15.

The small doorway on the street leads into a beautiful, spacious restaurant. Customer service could not be faulted. Menu perfect and the staff were really knowledgeable about what contained gluten. The food arrived and was just amazing. Perfectly cooked as ordered and delicious and full of flavour. Absolutely must go restaurant if you’re in New York - bill for 3 (starters and mains with wine) $330.

Nice environment and very good service experienced. Nicely prepared food and brought out in a short time. It is an expensive restaurant and may not suit everyone.

Had a phenomenal experience here last Jan! Hands down the best steak We have had in a while! And top it up with fantastic service!

Everything about my visit to this restaurant exceeded my expectations, I had been told this restaurant was one of the best steak houses in NYC and It did not disappoint. The restaurant is an expensive experience but worth every dime! The service was second to none and the food was out of this world!

Excellent steak and seafood in surf ’n turf. The kitchen gave us complimentary dessert wine since it was our honeymoon. The second time here and for me, this is the best steakhouse. Superb service! Next time have to get the tomahawk.

Words can’t describe the incredible steak for two we had last night. Done to perfection. We had a crab cake appetizer which was also outstanding. But most important, our server, Ricky, was beyond attentive. He was a mind reader! One step ahead and made us feel special. This place is a treat. Make reservations then enjoy! You’ll have an incredible dining experience.

We try to come here on each visit to NYC. Great service, great food. This time we had reservations for mid-week thinking it would be less crowded. It was packed-can’t believe no one called the fire department for too many people in a building. They still managed to seat us promptly, serve us promptly and all was delicious! Only complaint is our dinner arrived before we finished out drinks. We placed out order for dinner when our cocktails arrived. Other than that, most fabulous service, atmosphere and food. Staff is extremely attentive and friendly

We arrived early with our party of 5 and they immediately accommodated us at a lovely round table near the bar. Our server, Andrea, was also a bartender and she took a macabre of us, both food and drink. The cocktails were superb and she accommodated our teenage niece with a mock tail …Food was excellent, all the appetizers were perfect, calamari, caprese, especially. Filets were cooked to order…creamy spinach, house potatoes, and lobster Mac and cheese were great sides to share. Cheese cake and chocolate mouse pie…yummy! But honestly, the biggest attraction was our wonderful server, Andrea!

The service, food, drink, and atmosphere were all outstanding. The prices are to be expected for what you are provided. This is not an inexpensive restaurant. That said, the ribeye I enjoyed was perfect. It was absolutely delicious. My cocktail was also perfect. It's truly a gem in the city, and definitely a must try. I highly recommend this restaurant.

It was a very charming experience. The interior was very suitable for a stately steakhouse. The food didnt disappoint.

Absolutely amazing steak and good portions. We had a steak each and shared sides, all were lovely. The cocktails are also great. Staff were very attentive. On the pricey side, but didn’t mind as food was delicious and a nice treat on holiday.

We went for the Lunch Prix Fixe, and we were not disappointed. The appetizer was huge, and good. The Prime Junior New York Sirloin was good and cooked medium rare exactly as we ordered. The ice cream was good as well. No complain here. If you happen to be near Grand Central and want a good, sumptuous lunch at reasonable price, give it a try.

Outstanding food, service, and atmosphere! The staff really wanted to make sure we had a great experience, including Victor and John. This is a great place for a business dinner, a date, or just a pleasant dining experience!

Excellent steakhouse- Benjamin is the first place we book when we head for NYC and it has never disappointed. Great atmosphere and on point service - great dinner all round. The steak is fantastic and all the sides are terrific.

I try to visit once a year when I’m in town for business. I never tire of the classic NY steakhouse feel. The 2nd floor seating overlooking the rest of the tables was a nice vantage point. Their filet mignon is second to none and the mushrooms pair well with it!

My husband loves steak so chose to come here while we were in New York for a birthday treat. The steak was amazing and our server Ricky couldn’t do enough for us and was so helpful with recommendations and making sure our meal was perfect. The only downside was we couldn’t eat it all! Had this been a resteraunt at home I would have definitely asked for a box to take home the left overs! Would highly recommend and will return if in New York again

Amazing…. The staff super nice.Food excellent … if I can to put 6 stars I will put to them. Meat amazing and also the side super good.

If you're looking for large-sized steaks (maybe my mind but they sure were large sized), then this is the place. Nice environment, good service, large collection of wines. I would have given 5* but for the fact that my steak was overcooked and i dare say burnt at some parts. Sea food on the sides even nicer. Great place to dine. Worth a visit

Tonight was Christmas and we expected great food and service . Both were lacking . We had a reservation but wait 45 minutes past our reservation. The steak was over cooked, the Sea Bass was bland . The waiter took know time to discuss the menu with us . We couldn’t even talk over the noise. I have been to Benjamin’s when it was great but tonight was a disappointment.

Great ambiance for that New York City Steakhouse vibe. Steak was excellent and my Martini was spot on. . Appreciated that the steak sauce was not a Lugar rip off. Very welcoming staff.

I finished a walking tour of Grand Central Terminal & was looking for a nearby place to eat that wasn't fast food or pizza. Benjamin Steakhouse is in walking distance to the Terminal. I went on their website & made a 4p reservation. Getting there before the dinner crowd started turned out to be an excellent choice! Restaurant is a bit pricey, but portion took up the entire plate & food was really good. I ordered the chicken parmigian Staff was very friendly & very attentive. I walked away happy with my choice of restaurant & very full

Came for breakfast as we were staying in the hotel this is a part of (The Dylan.) Food was good (omelettes, eggs benedict) but nothing out of the ordinary, service was also good, but the restaurant was empty apart from us, and very dark and dingy. Nothing to disappoint but nothing to amaze, but we stayed at this hotel for 5 nights and overall were very happy.

Great steak and great service. Sides were large and delicious. Steak for three was truly plenty for all of us. The restaurant has a nice ok'd world charm.

Absolutely the best fillet steak I’ve ever eaten! The service is fantastic and the atmosphere relaxed, like it is in New York. I’d say that if you are not use to eating big portions, share the steak, as the servings are generous! We had fries and mushrooms to share. Having said all that our how the large the steak was, we both managed a desert, which was worth it! We will visit again.

Soooo noisy it spoiled everything. The service was great, the food was good but the noise is deafening ! Not romantic place for sure when you have to scream to be heard.

Very over priced for bloody, wet, plain steak. The steak wasn't even hot when it came. For how much this place was I expected excellence.

Everything about this place is second rate: the room, the service and the food! It's downstairs in a moderately-priced hotel which appears to supply much of their clientele. As the dinner service goes on, the room fills up with cooking smoke. Steaks are just o.k., desserts unimpressive. They mention on the website that it is family-owned, and I would guess that a lot of the waitstaff are relatives or friends without much training. They are not expensive for a steakhouse-especially in midtown-so what can I say but that we get what we pay for?

Recommend by the hotel concierge, we tried to engage in a quiet, relaxed dinner for two. First and foremost, buffet style seating for all twosomes so scratch any attempt at intimacy.Second, drinks and dinner were served forthwith and within 4 minutes of ordering , so forget any relaxed pace. The food was okay, nothing great. Overall, it’s just sad.

Thanks to the gracious staff, especially waiter extraordinaire Mike, we had a wonderful and memorable birthday lunch celebration. Everything was terrific - the requested seating near the corner, the scrumptious steak and salmon and kudos for the special birthday sign on the delicious, chocolate mousse cake. We will be returning again and again to this midtown gem. Bravo!

We are lucky enough to visit NY a couple times a year and always have dinner at Benjamin’s. We have never been disappointed in the service or the delicious food - love the Benjamins salad and this trip had the outstanding pecan pie. Lamb chops are the best anywhere. Great New York restaurant!!!

I researched all steakhouses in New York and decided on this one. After all of the good reviews I was expecting much more. I live in the midwest and believe me Chicago has a lot of good steak houses. I went with a friend of mine on our girls trip. First our waiter could have cared less about us. I guess he saw two women and figured we weren't important enough. We both ordered aperol spritzes to drink. They should both be red in color from the aperol. Mine was my friends was not. We went to send it back and the waiter said, dont't know how they can be different, the same guy made both of them. Really!!! they were different color, and you could tell no aperol was put in one of the. We both ordered filets for our entree. I have never had a filet that was so tough you could not cut into it. We also had creamed spinach and mashed potatoes. Both were fine nothing special. For the price of this steakhouse, I would expect much better service and a higher quality of beef. I felt like we were just rushed through everything. Not a very good experience. Oh yeah don't ask for extra blue cheese dressing for your salad if you do not want to get growled at. Next time I will listen to friends and go to Peter Lugars

Fantastic food, we had steak for 3 and bacon strip, benjimin steakhouse fries. We really enjoyed the meal so filling we couldn't fit in any deserts. TThe waiters were all brilliant made us feel really special, loads of famous people eat here, loads if photos of all the famous people who have been there. Would definitely go again if in NYC

We visit NYC regularly and book a good restaurant for each visit. I have been to Benjamin Steakhouse a number of times with my wife, this time we brought our two grown up kids, they loved it. Food is exceptional, steaks are tasty, tender and cooked to perfection. The service is great, friendly, without being intrusive, we were shown to our table upstairs without delay. The courses came with just the right amount of time between, we had salads/shrimp starters, then the best fillets/ribeyes followed by flavoursome deserts. We will be back.

Overpriced, staff not attentive. Lovely ambiance food ok. Had better in midtown. Great location just off Maddison. Be mindful of the tipping.

The best meal we have eaten in a long time. Huge thank you to Mike our waiter who made the experience fantastic. Highly recommend to all.

First of all the food was fantastic, but we were outside within an hour, despite having indicated that we wanted to take it easy. Starter and main course within an hour, clearing while someone was still eating. The bill on the table before the tea is served. Very unfortunate, especially considering the size of the bill. You can expect the service to be perfect as well.

My wife and I dined at Benjamin Steakhouse on Wednesday, August 4, 2021, and ordered off the Restaurant Week menu. We had an excellent dinner and the service was exceptional. We both ordered the Caesar salad and I had the filet mignon and she had the salmon. The salad came out within a few minutes of us ordering. Both my steak and her salmon were cooked to perfection. And I should add they bring out a bread basket of freshly baked rolls and assorted other goodies that were delicious too. For dessert, I had the chocolate mousse cake and she had the cheesecake. Both were excellent as well. Our server Johny was very attentive to our needs and made it a nice dining experience. It is a fine dining restaurant and it is on the pricey side but when you order off the Restaurant Week menu, it is only $39 per person and that is why I rated the Value so high. You are getting a first class meal at a very affordable price. I have been to Benjamin before and think it is a great restaurant but you can't go wrong going during Restaurant Week.

When we arrived my initial reaction was oh dear. The entrance was very busy and very chaotic. We had booked a table for 7.30, we were seated at about 7.50 which was better than expected. A very impressive, if toppy wine list, but if you have a modicum of wine knowledge there is value to be found. We both went with the Christmas menu, which when I consider what I've paid for Christmas Lunch in the UK was a value trade. Our server was excellent, he knew how to work his position. Overall an excellent experience.

Although my husband and son said the filet mignon ($71.00 for 10 ounces) was excellent, my organic chicken was dry. The reason for the 3 stars is that the price of the sides. Dinners are a la carte so be forewarned mashed potato side was $16.95, creamed spinach was 17.00. Appetizer basic salad was 30.00. The dining room was very loud. The service is top notch and there is valet parking.

Came, extremly noisy, food was ok minus. Wine was served nearly after we had finished our meal. Go somewhere else.

American Express recommended this place; we were looking for someplace new to visit. We were hopeful; I started with the grilled shrimp, which was excellent, and my wife ordered the crab cakes, which were deep-fried and overcooked. For dinner, I ordered a filet and home fries. Although cooked perfectly, the filet was so salty I could not finish it, and the potatoes were dry. The onion rings were so bad I could not finish even one. My wife ordered the Salmon, which she said was very good, but the Asparagus were overcooked. The service and the space were excellent, but the food was not worth a return visit. We went to Bobby Vans the next night and ordered almost the same thing, and the food was perfect.

I recently took two clients here for dinner. We started with the wedge salad and ordered the Porterhouse steak for three. My clients ordered potatoes with theirs and I ordered asparagus. The portions here are huge, the steak comes to the table sizzling hot, and tastes great. The service was good, without being overbearing. Bring plenty of cash, it is very expensive.

We recently vacationed in NYC for my husband's birthday. This was our first time to Benjamin Steak House and we were not disappointed. We made reservations online for dinner and had a very short wait at the bar. Our server, Frankie, was delightful and efficient. He recommended a nice cabernet sauvignon. We began the meal with a caprese - split between myself and husband. My son and I had the largest filet mignons we've ever seen. There are no small steaks in this restaurant! They were delicious and cooked to perfection. My husband had the grilled Norwegian salmon and was not disappointed. We shared three sides: creamless creamed spinach, sautéed broccoli, and mashed potatoes. We wanted to experience their desserts, but were so full we asked for the cheesecake to go. Frankie surprised at the end of the meal with a glass of Port for each of us. It was a nice touch and we really enjoyed our dining experience. We will definitely be back when visiting NYC.

You have to check the bill, the restaurant adds elements to pay more. I realize that it did not correct us on the debit card. Very expensive for what it is!

This is most definitely the quintessential ‘Steakhouse’ in NYC and impeccably run by Ben (the founder’s grandson) and his superb cohorts.

Located just beside The Dylan Hotel, Benjamin's Steak House provides you with great ambiance, nice selection of wines and lovely steaks. Their PorterHouse steak for 3 easily feeds a family of 4 so, if you are a proud meat eater, don't hesitate to ask for this option.

Beautiful venue with an impressive balcony level. We ate upstairs which made it nice for dining and conversation. Our waiter was charming and the food was excellent. We go often to NY steakhouses and wanted to try Benjamin’s. It didn’t disappoint. We all agreed it was a delicious and decadent meal.

Great food, service and atmosphere describe Benjamin’s perfectly. We had a lovely dinner in the downstairs dining room. The service was phenomenal with someone always close by to tend to our needs but not too overbearing. We had the steak for two, steak fries and bacon appetizer. All meals were delicious and well prepared- but be aware that the bacon is very large. We were full before our steak even arrived, not a bad thing but just a word of advice. A great experience all around.

We have been with friends! The ambiance is great! Rich wine list including interesting Italian wines! Great Meat! I recommend!

Be prepared for a leisurely meal, meaning you sit and wait, and wait and wait. The food is great, perfectly done steak, great salads, choice of sides. The service was unacceptably slow, the request for how something would be cooked (same request I make every time I go here) was ignored. The terrible service ruined the meal, which is unfortunate as the food is very good.

Our family enjoyed dinner on Christmas Day at Benjamin Steakhouse in Midtown Manhattan. We were seated promptly once all members of our party arrived. The room was typical steakhouse decor. While the room was very busy, tables were not jammed together (a big plus) and it was not overly noisy. We discovered that the menu was limited for the holiday, but we had no problem making selections, particularly given that the also offered the option of Porterhouse for 2-4 persons. Although the restaurant has a very ample wine list with nice wines at multiple price points, we elected to take advantage of the $42 per bottle corkage and brought 2 bottles of “special occasion” wine, which our server happily decanted and served. Menu choices were all steakhouse standards, expertly presented. My son devoured his filet mignon while my wife enjoyed her salmon (which was quite large). The star of the show was the Porterhouse - one of the best examples I have had in a number of years. I believe the special menu was approximately $89 plus tax and tip for appetizer, main, side and dessert. We look forward to returning and enjoying the full menu.

Classic old school steakhouse experience - Staff is very friendly. Food and drinks were amazing. Will definitely be back!

Porterhouse X 2 unforgettable! Fast and very courteous Service in a retro setting in perfect nyc style! Excellent wine list and x all tastes. The price is for a level steakhouse

This upscale steakhouse did not disappoint on our last night in NYC. The restaurant is a large space with tables draped with white tablecloths. It’s very old school. Our main server was Jet. Friendly, engaging and attentive. Benjamin’s wine list is extensive. We chose a bottle of red Zinfandel knowing we’d have beef. We ordered the tomahawk steak, and we chose not to have an appetizer. It was a good thing, too, because the steak was huge! We did choose two sides to share to go along with our steak, the creamless creamed spinach and Benjamin’s potatoes. When the food arrived, Jet had a couple other staff members with him to serve the food in unison. Quite the presentation! The plates were piping hot to keep the food hot. The tomahawk steak was cooked to perfection, medium rare on the rare side. The creamed spinach was creamy good, and the Benjamin’s potatoes were over the top. The potatoes were cubed crispy but tender potatoes topped with crumbled blue cheese. So delicious. At the end of the meal, Jet brought us two complimentary glasses of port wine. So very sweet and such a nice touch! I highly recommend the steakhouse for its impeccable service and quality food…and the great wine list!

We tried other steak places in NY and NJ, and this is probably the BEST steak we ever had. It was a special occasion for us that night, and the staff were so friendly and pleasant, even though it was packed, our waiter was attentive. We also had salmon, creamed spinach and mac'n cheese. The Mac'n Cheese was with lobster and it was very good. The salmon was cooked crispy outside and so soft inside. But the steak, well, if you like steak, you have to try it at The Benjamin. It was the best!! Not a reasonable price, but it's totally worth it, especially for a special occasion. We would definitely go back again.

We chose to eat here to celebrate our 10 year anniversary. The food was delicious and the service was great too. We both had the French Onion Soup to start and the n shared a Steak for 2 with the spinach and mushroom sides and a bottle of wine. After our meal we were brought a complimentary drink each for our anniversary. We really enjoyed our meal and would like to thank you for your hospitality and a 5 star experience.

It was our last night in NY and we wanted a nice dinner. Researched what was near us and found Benjamin’s. So glad we did! We both agreed that it was one of the best meals we’ve had! My husband had the filet and I had the sea bass. We had potatoes and mushrooms for sides, and cheesecake for dessert. Everything was cooked to perfection! Service was top notch- thank you Mike! We would come back to NY just to eat here again!

We visited Benjamin’s during restaurant week. The three course special was amazing. The lobster bisque tasted like buttery lobster melting in my mouth. The NY strip was well seasoned and perfectly done. The carrot cake was simply okay, but I was stuffed anyway! I highly recommend!

Dined at Benjamin’s first evening in the city. Beautiful and romantic, classy place; friendly and professional staff. 10/10. Steak was cooked to perfection ! 🎯Benjamin Fries (not average or what you might think!) …totally delicious. Chilean Bass was cooked to perfection. Flavor abundance. Great place and delicious food.

Never an empty table at the Benjamin Steakhouse for an obvious reason: The best steak house in NYC! We started with the soups (lobster bisque and French onion). Then shared the Benjamin salad (lovely). I had the porterhouse (cooked to perfection) and the wife had the Chilean Sea Bass (mouth watering). I highly recommend this restaurant!

From walking through the door to walking back out the service was extraordinary with friendliness and attention to details. Entree to dessert the food was exquisite. I really couldn’t find fault but the star of the show was the steak, the finest I’ve ever had and I’ve had some good steak in NY. If you get the chance to go to Benjamin’s do not pass it up!!

I ordered the Surf and Turf on Seamless. Filet was good but the seafood portion was a complete scam. I wad supposed to be a combined 5 ounces of seafood. I doubt if all of it added up to one ounce. Shockingly small portions. Definitely a scam. I FEEL 100% CHEATED. STAY AWAY, STAY AWAY, STAY AWAY.

Beautiful room brings back a feeling of years gone by. White tablecloths, excellent service and excellent food. As steakhouses go, everything is ala carte but the portions were more reasonable than what I have experienced in other restaurants. The cold crab meat appetizer was enough for two to share. Our steaks were done as requested and our vegetable side was enough for two. They did not rush us and were attentive to our needs without being intrusive.

Very pricey for a bowl of fries. Steaks huge no need for entrees or dessert Great food Great Service and enjoy seeing the wall of celebrities that have been to this restaurant

Years ago the concierge at the Intercontinental Barclay's had recommended Benjamins to us. We loved it then and we love it now. When we arrived I was greeted by both Mario (General Manager) and Nick (manager) and Mario asked if we were in the city for anything special. I mentioned it was our anniversary and in an instant he brought us some champagne! How very thoughtful! Both Mario and Nick made sure our experience was FANTASTIC! The food was great, (Try the crab cakes!) the wine list was great (Loved the Pahlmeyer!)and the wait staff was exceptional. At the end of the meal they treated us to some Port! Can't wait to dine at Benjamin's again!

We were seated early even with a reservation. The wait staff was very attentive without be intrusive. We both had steak and they were cooked to perfection. Highly recommend this restaurant! Will most certainly be back!!

What a great sensation ones get in Benjamin. From the very beginning u feel that u are in a luxurious place but very much at home. Dishes are elegant with simple sophistication and wonderful taste. Benjamin I'm yours ::))

Amazing steak, delicious I wanted more and more steak. I recommend trying the steak that is for 2-4 people. The T-Bone steak is my favorite. No doubt

We usually go to Benjamin steakhouse for dinner and special occasions. As it is Super Bowl Sunday we figured this would be a great way to start the day. They have a lunch version of their dinner menu but they also have fantastic sandwiches and a burger. The burger is great as are the very nicely done french fries. Good Bloody Mary too. Not a "brunch" menu so no breakfast items. Would recommend skipping breakfast if you plan to have lunch unless you can really eat a lot!

The restaurant stands out for its high-quality meat, with steaks such as the filet mignon and the Porterhouse cooked to perfection—very tender, flavorful, and clearly a highlight of the experience. The service is professional and attentive, contributing to a fine-dining atmosphere, and valet parking adds extra convenience. The restaurant features an upscale, two-floor setting and offers a good wine selection, including an Oregon Pinot Noir. Side dishes, such as the potatoes with blue cheese, are also well prepared, making it a solid choice for steak lovers seeking a classic, high-end steakhouse experience.

We had the most delicious experience at Benjamin steakhouse in NYC. We had ribeyes, onion soup and a crème brûlée for dinner followed by drinks in an amazing atmosphere. All the staff was great and was visited by the manager who was extremely friendly. Highly recommended.

Table for 2 was right up against another table I told the waiter, nothing was done when he served his butt was in my face, horrible experience. The steak was not good.

Missed really great steak so much during the pandemic. Benjamin’s does it right. The ribeye is perfect with a crust you can’t duplicate at home. The home fries are yummy and the thick sliced bacon is sinful. John, our waiter, is an old school professional. Can’t eat like this too often but knowing it’s there, and is always reliable, is great.

It's a delicious steak. I think the price is reasonable. I definitely recommend it, especially for weekday lunch. The dessert is very filling.

My family visited Benjamin Steakhouse for a birthday celebration. We had an early reservation and were seated immediately by the hostess. This was the first time dining here. Wait staff did not rush us as we studied the menu. We ordered the Benjamin salad and the chopped tomato salad. They were excellent choices. Main courses-Steak for two, steak for one with sides of their hash browns and asparagus. Steaks were very good but could be More tender. Wouldn’t order the asparagus again but hash browns were quite tasty. I thought the steak for two was small-the steak for one was almost the same size as a steak for two. The hot fudge sundae for dessert was nothing special. Service at Benjamin’s was excellent.

Outstanding On All Cylinders. Johnny & His Team Are True Gems & The Food Is Always On Point, went this past Monday sat alone @ the bar an had a nice meal with a few glasses of wine. “G” the bartender was AMAZING as always he made sure i was well taken care of. Thank you guys for a truly amazing dinner an thanks for the great hospitality

We were referred to this restaurant by a manager from the hotel we were staying in. What an absolute delight! The service was excellent, the atmosphere was classic New York Steakhouse Vibe. The manager and staff were so attentive. They made everyone in our party feel incredibly special. The steak and side dishes were amazing. We finished off the evening with delicious desserts. All aspects of the evening made us feel welcomed and appreciated. We will definitely return. Highly recommend!

Sober setting, attentive service and the best lamb chops grilled to perfection. A pure delight. I highly recommend. I forgot, the homemade cheese cake, to die for.

Is it necessary to be a star to get a smile from a waiter? very fast service almost expeditious, very cold waiter more food is correct but quantity is privileged over quality

Exceptional quality meat. Not really touristy, very businesslike for real New Yorkers. Exceptional service that matched the setting. Thank you very much for this wonderful experience

I have been to many great steakhouses in NYC, but this is by far my favorite! During this visit to NYC we went to Keens and we've been to American Steak and Peter Lugers to name a few. This was my winner. The service was impeccable. I felt like I was royalty from the moment I walked in to the moment I left...and the food was amazing! The waiters and wait staff are spectacular. They were very nice, smiled and made really good recommendations. I had Ricky and then Walter. Ask for their tables when you make a reservation. The ambiance was definitely that of a steakhouse with ambient lighting, high ceilings, dark wood panels, and simple and elegant decor. For starters we had drinks, a Manhattan and Classic Old Fashion mixed to perfection. The bread basket was delicious; warm with a variety. Then we each (2 adults and a child) ordered a slice of the bacon appetizer. We should have listened to the waiter when he said one was enough, but as bacon lovers, we ordered 3. When they set them on the table, I realized the waiter was right to tell us one slice was enough because they were very very large and more than enough to share. One would have sufficed. Then I ordered the seafood tower for one. For $35 it was quite a healthy portion. Enough for two to share. It was very fresh and tasty. Then we ordered the porterhouse for one. Given that we had stuffed ourselves with bread, bacon and seafood, this was than enough for all of us as suggested by the waiter. And he was absolutely right! It was more than enough. We paired it with sauteed onions and mushrooms. The steak was prepared to our liking, medium Pittsburgh (which means a medium steak, charred on the outside.) It was tender, seasoned just right, and so buttery, it melted in my mouth. The check came and it was quote reasonable. I think they are very fair in price compared to other places I've been! I can't wait to go back! For dessert...yes we had dessert after all that....we ordered a creme brulee which was delicious. I cant stop thinking about the steak.

I participated in a business dinner with 100 other people in the upstairs dining room. I ordered the Rib-eye steak with creamed spinach and asparagus. My steak was prepared in accordance with my request for medium rare and it was melt in your mouth perfection. Best steak I've had in years. A full Bar is available for drinks and cocktails. Table Service was excellent considering the size of our group. The decor in the restaurant is very attractive and conducive to a dinner setting whether business , Friends or Couples. Please be aware that the upstairs restrooms are mixed use as Both Men and Women use it together. There is a restroom attendant to ensure security, so though it felt strange to walk into a restroom for the first time for me, where a women was walking out, as I walked in, I believe that most guests will feel secure with that arrangement. There is little street parking at this location but there is a public parking Garage garage (ICON) on 39th street, 1 block away and very convenient. Please be aware that parking for the evening will cost you about $70 for about 5 hours I would definitely recommend Benjamin Steak House for anyone wanting a great meal in a very attractive setting for business, couples or friends. I look forward to my next visit!

The food was outstanding. We order the Porterhouse for 3 and it was incredible. However, they charged $30 for each glass of wine, only to find out that the bottle is only $20 (check yourself on google for Torres Celeste 2019). They charged 7 times the cost. Abusive, really. We ended up paying 280 in food and 210 in just average, crianza wine. 3 people.

I don't normally go to steakhouses, but this place was sublime. We came here for a family celebration and all had such good food that we were fairly groaning by the end of it. We shared a bunch of things (the porterhouse, the rack of lamb, the salmon, home fries, and a bunch of sides), and everything was really well made. The meat and fish were tender and well-cooked, and the sides were plentiful. Service was impeccable and the ambiance was classy and welcoming, all of which created a warm environment for an upscale celebratory meal.

Disappointed because of the expeditious service, we felt pressured by the waiter who wanted us to eat that we pay and leave , often in opposition to our requests , (Genci), the name of the server . Unsympathetic sir, he should do a job other than this. Over $200 alcohol-free for one person , nothing is included with your steak , accompaniment extra $$$$. But sincerely if the service had been adequate, I would have digested the bill better. I will not go back.

I had the Benjamin cure with the steak and potatoes. The bread was served promptly. I enjoyed catching up with a friend there. The atmosphere was lively with a buzz.

We went here before the Eagles concert. I noticed all the tables getting a sizzling plate placed in the center and the guests gobbling up the steak. I wanted to go here because friends recommended it. My wife doesn't eat steak but loves seafood. A good steak house has both. Well, I decided to get the filet mignon medium and my wife had the tuna. We got the broccoli and french fries. My filet did not come out on a sizzling plate and was more medium well than medium. It was ok but I cook a better steak when I purchase dry aged at Whole Foods. The tuna was also fine but not awesome. I would like to try the Benjamin Seafood restaurant. Concert was awesome....

Benjamin is an outstanding, A+ restaurant. We’ve dined there many times over the years, most recently in July 2023. The steak there is to die for. Really good. We’ve been to other places including those in Buenos Aires that are known for their good steak but Benjamin is the best. Steak for two, filet mignon and everything else there is outstanding including the side dishes. The restaurant also has a great wine list. Ask for Mario, but everybody who works there provides superstar service.

We were taken here for lunch on Monday by a friend who said it was his favorite restaurant. After he extolled the perfection of their steaks before and during the meal, we all ordered something else. Steak was a little heavy for a midday meal when we were all going to spend much of the day sitting. My wife and I selected the Norwegian Salmon and our host a Chicken Caesar Salad. The Salmon was truly superb. We also shared a very respectable New York Cheese Cake. It is a large restaurant and certainly caters to a substantial business crowd. The ambiance is a bit generic, but the service is really first rate from the front desk, the coat check people, the bar and especially our waiter. We would like to come back and try their legendary steaks. I appreciate the fact that the owner, or one of his assistants seem to respond to every review. Perhaps they really read them. But the fact that all of the positive reviews are responded to with the same sentence or two suggests otherwise. It is a balancing act; providing a high quality experience to every customer without making it synthetic. The kitchen and service staff are in gear. How about management?

My wife and I went this past Friday to celebrate her birthday and we had a great time. First time in NYC and this was the first restaurant experience we encountered and I will say Ricky (server) set the bar for great customer service experience. I have been telling all of my colleagues who frequently travel to NYC to check the place out. I will definitely return next time in NYC. Food was amazing...the steak was the perfect temperature and very delicious.

Great business dinner! Best steaks in town and very nice wine selection Our waiter did wonderful job!

If you want really good food and good wine, then this is where you should go. They serve the full menu at the bar. The salmon is amazing although they say the sea bass is even better. Very nice people. Well done.

We enjoyed our dinner here very much. It is a very good steakhouse. Key items including creamed spinach and crab cakes were outstanding, as was the wine list. The steaks, as expected were great, with the meat itself as good as it gets. My one qualm is that the steaks were slightly overdone. Medium rare was closer to medium (by my tastes and standard), and medium was closer to medium well. I wish to note, however, that every steakhouse has a slightly different standard, and it is as much up to the diner to try to confirm this with the waiter. We did not do that. So, outstanding meat, side, and appetizer, with a slight blemish on the doneness of the steaks. Next time I will know and order accordingly. It was NOT enough to keep me from coming back, which I will definitely do.

The best steakhouse ! This is really the top of the line by all means- The service, the fresh excellent food, the right wine pairing to the divine porterhouse steak we had. The Benjamin salad with the delicious crab meat was a great starter as well so was the cream brûlée.. :-)

Wonderful experience, friendly, courteous staff. Warning, the meals are huge! As I was ‘only’ having the salmon, I had a soup starter. Well the salmon was huge, as were the side dishes, far too much food. My husband had a rib eye steak, which he reckoned was the best he’s ever had (and he’s had few 😜).

Visited 3 stakeshouses in on our holiday, this was by far the best one. Good seasoning and very well prepared. Skip the appetizer and just go for a good steak. Cheesecake is also very good!

When we entered we were thinking of eating meat then when we sat down and saw the prices we realized that it cost a bit more than the other restaurants we also thought that the meals were small, but we struggled to finish everything. About the employees they were always on the spot and helpful (thanks Tomo!) insisted on changing cutlery and plates to bring us extra bread to what was already there (the oil was really good spread on bread from Greece) then we had a tiramisu in 4 and it was really good and very large. We really enjoyed super recommended!!

Fantastic service and food in the Manhattan. Very classy place and very attentive service. Reservation necessary as even on a monday its booked.

The food is excellent with divine steaks, cooked perfectly. At this most recent dinner the service was terrible, waiting 30 minutes plus between courses. The waiter even apologized for the poor service, not that it changed anything. Too bad that a great meal was ruined by atrocious service.

The service was truly exceptional, going above and beyond to ensure our comfort, while the food was absolutely fantastic, bursting with flavor and creativity. Together, these elements created an unforgettable experience that made for a perfect evening filled with delightful moments.

We had high expectations for this restaurant, but this was really disappointing. The oysters we ordered were tasteless. The steak for two was tasty, but not in relation to the price. The waiter puts drinks on the table again without asking.

Referring to this restaurant as a Steak House seems to be diminishing what it is. A landmark hotel with a fabulous restaurant. It was a Broadway and fine arts weekend. We needed a great place to go with it. Our concierge recommended The Benjamin. Prices were right there with other steak houses outside of the city. The steaks were done to perfection and the service was tremendous. One word of caution are the drink prices are exorbitant.

Historic place. Located in the central area. Friendly staff. Excellent quality meat. However, it was brought to us that was too burnt on the outside which made the cooking not good on the inside. I am convinced it was a mistake.

Marlin was just the best! He knows how to do it and what customers want! Mega Service, great atmosphere ! Big praise to John and his entire team for the high quality! We were treated great! Thank you for the helpful Service. Great location in the Heart of NYC. Thank you Marvin, John & the team of Benjamin Steakhouse! 🍀🙏🏼

Benjamin Steakhouse in New York is considered one of the best steakhouses in the city, located near Grand Central, making it perfect for business dinners or special occasions. The restaurant is famous for the quality of USDA prime meat, seasoned dry for maximum flavor. Among the most popular dishes are Tomahawk Steak and Filet Mignon, which guarantee a tender and perfectly cooked meat. The atmosphere is elegant and welcoming, with a classic décor featuring oak wood panels, a large fireplace and high ceilings. However, some customers have noticed that the room can be noisy and the tables quite close together. Nevertheless, the service is always discreet and professional. It is strongly recommended to book in advance, especially at peak times. Prices may seem high, but they are justified by the central location and reputation Benjamin Steakhouse has earned over time.

We decided to go to Benjamin’s for a business lunch. The building is very elegant, the food was good, and the service was excellent. The prices were a bit on the high side, but it’s Manhattan!!!

Fantastic meet! The best we ate ever in NY! We were served by Ricky. He is amazing! Great service!!!!

Perfect steak and excellent service! Steak for 4 was perfectly cooked, great charred crust! Fantastic wine list and knowledgeable friendly service completed an excellent NYC steak experience! Will return!

First time in New York and decided to have a steak and found this restaurant, food was good only French onion soup wasn’t up to our taste, since we mentioned to Manager he was kind to don’t change us, it got bit loud as it was busy, we had a porterhouse steak with few sides and wine, absolutely loved it, steak was huge, we had to take it with us, they sent us anniversary dessert plate which we enjoyed it well! Thank you, we will be back on our next visit!

Excellent quality raw materials. Professional service and available for every need. Locale purtroppo rumoroso dove per parlare servono toni alti!

Great steak house around the south side of Grand Central Terminal in NYC. Like most US steakhouses the atmosphere is everything and Benjamin’s has this in abundance mixing old style NY wood paneling high ceilings and 20’s lighting to set an ideal location. Service is quick none intrusive the steak is a must with spinach, NY fries and a Pinot Noir from a massive wine list, you are set for the evening. When there are so many steakhouse’s picking a comfort zone that just delivers helps make the evening what it is, special through the company you keep. Highly recommend.

Our reservations were for 7:30pm on Christmas Day. I want to first thank the restaurant for staying open during a very busy time. While we were waiting for our table, I went to the bar to get a drink for my wife and as I approached the bar, I accidentally stepped on the shoes of one of the staff members and he got in my face which I thought was very rude. Our table was finally ready at 8:15. We finally sat down and ordered salmon, oysters, and a wedge salad. I was impressed that the food came out in 15 minutes and everything tasted great. Later on my wife and I ordered our entrees one filet and a sea bass. One hour later we finally got our food. The waiter did nothing to comp the food or apologize. I’m sure he forgot to put in the orders. I also asked for medium rare and as you can see below the chef needs to go back to cooking school. It’s sad when you can make a better steak at home than a steakhouse. I’ve had many steaks being from Texas and this restaurant needs a lot of help. Chef Ramsey please save them! Staff was very rude and I would never recommend eating here.

A local specialty as a steakhouse, it serves excellent quality meat and huge portions. The cost (minimum 100 usd each) is proportionate to the quality offered and the fact that you are in New York...

My fiancé and I went to Benjamin steakhouse this past Sunday for her 30th birthday. It did not disappoint. Steaks were butter, she had the ribeye and I the filet. We had crab cakes, salad and steak fries. Service was high end, I highly recommend this restaurant.

I returned to this restraunt as I have done time and again for many years, Nothing much has changed, but nothing needs to change its a wonderful meat eating experience. Welcomed at the door by the manager/ Maitre De, served by attentive waiters, food cooked by top steak chefs, extensive wine list - lovely.

I came back to Benjamin's and brought a colleague who had never been. The food is phenomenal, the service exceptional, and the atmosphere is wonderful. I started with the shrimp appetizer which was perfect and chose the NY Strip which comes bone in and a side steak fries. The presentation, flavor, size, temperature, and melt in your mouth bites of the steak was so over the top perfect, it is hard to describe in words. If you ever have gotten a full body massage from someone that knows what they are doing, I would compare it to that. Amazing! My colleague ordered the filet and onion rings and his comment was "best steak ever." It really is exceptional at Benjamin's: The staff and crew, the food, the atmosphere. A special shout out to G at the bar, he is the Greatest!

Steak was done perfectly. Fish was good but not great. Oysters merely average. Service very good with multiple servers. Room a bit noisy but was happy noise.

Excellent restaurant all around. Amazing food and great service. ! One of the top restaurants I visited during my stay in New York!

We visit this place when we are in the city and love it. The place was full but the service was still amazing! They have a week menu that was very convenient and included what we usually order as options. Absolutely recommend!

Absolutely no interest and overpriced a common tomato mozzarella without seasoning for $25 so-called homemade fries but from the frozen house catastrophic service fatty meat spilled on the place table and it doesn't bother anyone in short flee these places that they say institutional but which are only tourist traps a shame

One of the best dinners that I have had in a long time. Rib eye cooked to perfection. Broccoli crisp and steamed to perfection. Creamy mashed potatoes. Nice chocolate mousse to top the meal off. Excellent service. I can't wait to visit again for another outstanding meal.

Rumours preceded Benjamin and of course we had to check out if they lived up to our expectations. Booked a month ahead, no fuzz. Post marathon dinner for two. House steak for two: perfection! Being a meat lover this was one of the best dishes ever. As this is Manhattan the price was according (for that minus one star). Waiter was friendly, service fast and accurate. Warm recommendation.

Unreal steak. Atmosphere was brilliant. I’m still chasing the flavour of the T-Bone we had. Best I’ve ever had. This is now what other steaks that I have are compared to and they don’t currently get anywhere near!

Came here for dinner with a group of friends and had the best experience. From the service to the food, everything was outstanding.

Excellent restaurant. We were treated on Thanksgiving day and it was sensational. Our waiter was very kind, from Albania, but we didn't remember his name. Congratulations on your education and prestige. It served us very well.

Whenever I am in New York I make sure to visit Benjamins. I prefer the one on 41st Street - far more traditional with a much better atmosphere. The one on 40th Street is more of a fine dining experience - no harm in that - food equally great, however the 41st Street one buzzes with atmosphere. Sitting at the bar, watching the bar staff mix cocktails, chatting to the customers, and serving excellent food is, for me, better than anyway Broadway Show! Sitting there is like being immersed in years of history. It is a classic place to go. Historic!

We’ve been going to the original Benjamin’s since it opened on 41st Street. This visit was the first time since we sold and moved out of our 30-year Manhattan condo 3 years ago. The place never disappoints. The steaks excellent and the service top-notch. Hope to be back again soon.

Don’t waste your time there I had a reservation at the US open Benjamin restaurant site. Nobody knew where that damn restaurant was. When I finally found it, we had to go inside a building that was guarded by Restaurant and US Open people I guess. They were as clueless as all the others when I asked them if they could check if my reservation was still holding. They were just insanely not helpful. It was just a big mess. If I could give -10 I would They ask you let them know if you have delays and they don’t even give you a phone number.

Top flight food and superb service, plus very accomodating! We were a group of 10 family members having a celecration--and got confused about which Benjamin steak house our reservations were for. But the maitre d' at this one thought it was no issue to pull tables together and seat us immediately. The Cabernet flowed liberally and we started with the seafood tower. On another night, that alone would have been my meal. They portion for each person at the table, so each of us had half a lobster, some crab, a jumbo shrimp, oyster, and littleneck clam. All of it excellent, and I do love some littleneck clam that was just raked out of the sound that morning. The entrée for me was a top sirloin, medium rare, and we passed their famed non-cream creamed spinach. Despite overindulging, I found space for a fine New York cheesecake for dessert along with an espresso--here was my only disappointment, I would have liked the espresso to arrive at the same time as the cake, and it was a bitter espresso anyway--a minor fault. Most impressive was the service. The man who was our primary waiter was special, present at an instant whenever we wanted him, otherwise non obtrusive, and pleasant to a fault. You got to love a good steak house.

We had a porterhouse that was perfectly medium raw. Meat itself was really goodand service was excellent (though like always in New York bit too fast to my taste). Fantastic wine list.

Definitely dine at Benjamin Steakhouse if you want a warm and inviting night out! The filet was beautifully prepared and delicious!

Very nice cuts, very well cooked meats, helpful staff and willing to help you with your choices. On the negative side, terrible noise, too much noise from the guests.

We spent NYE in this restaurant.. it was fabulous from start to finish .. staff so professional and friendly .. although the place was wedged the service was excellent and quality of food stunning .. wine was lovely .. we could not find fault with anything .. just an amazing night .. we’ll be back

We planned a dinner at Benjamin’s Steakhouse. Our reservation was at 7:00. We were seated immediately. We ordered drinks. They appeared quickly as did our waiter who took our dinner order. Our appetizer arrived in minutes, and before we put our forks down, our entree and side dish appeared. In under an hour, we could have been done, but for the cappuccino I ordered. As to the meal itself- the Lump Crab Meat appetizer was wonderful and more than sufficient for two. We ordered the Porterhouse Steak for Two. It was good, but nothing special. It hardly could stand up to other Steakhouses we have enjoyed (Capital Grill and Gibson’s- no competition here). The hash brown potatoes were mediocre at best. Along with the cappuccino we ordered a slice of Key Lime pie (no dessert menu or list was offered by the waiter- we saw it at the next table). Trader Joe’s, we’ll stick with your pie.. On top of it all, the room was so noisy it was hard to talk to one another (considering it was a table for two, that’s saying something). Needless to say, I’ll stick with my old reliables in Chicago.

I had the steak here and everything was absolutely perfect. From the moment I walked in, the service was attentive and professional. The atmosphere feels classic New York – elegant but comfortable. The steak itself? Cooked exactly to order, perfectly seasoned, tender, and full of flavor. Easily one of the best I’ve had in the city. The sides and wine selection also complemented the meal beautifully. If you’re looking for a top-tier steakhouse experience in Manhattan, Benjamin’s delivers on every level.

Good restaurant, inside the building, a room that makes brasserie chic. The meal was good in this nice setting. Efficient and fast service. Online booking, top. A little expensive, but we don't regret it.

We had dinner reservations for 10:30pm checked in at 1025 pm and where told right at the door that we had to hurry because the kitchen was closing . Why would they let you book a table for 10:30 and hurry you this way . Unacceptable

Look, obviously pricey when working with A$ but excellent food and a touch of old-school restaurant charm. Thoroughly worth it as an experience. They also kindly kept my wife's forgotten scarf for us and even emailed me to let me know. Great experience.

Being an Aussie our expectations were high as to what a steakhouse should look, feel and serve. If we were walking as tourists down the street we would have walked straight past but a colleague took us here and oh boy the expectations were met. From the minute we walked in with the ambience, service, and then how quick the food was served it really is a place id recommend and want to return to next visit to NYC. Well done team and was a pleasure to meet THE BENJAMIN himself and a testament of how he prides his Customer Experience from start to finish.

One of the best dinners we have ever had (9/19/23)! The staff are great! Had enjoyable drinks/conversation with local patrons followed by the best filet steaks we have ever had! Portions are large, so be very hungry or plan to share. Will definitely go back ! Rod W.

Very bad service not able to provide a table even after making a reservation! Needed to wait for hours Families with disabled children have to wait for a long time We even made sure our reservation was valid multiple times and they are not able to serve Very rude personnel

Amazing vibe, food and staff It’s taken over some of the old fashion steak houses of New York and has exceeded expecTipn time and time again

On quick overbite to NYC, this is a great place to sit at the bar, have a great meal and relax. Steaks are delicious, food and sides are tasty( large portions), drinks are great and service is always consistent. Their attention to detail is spot on. Not inexpensive - bring an expense account! It is noisy- they could put some sound buffers in the place

Great steaks. We took steaks for two and Really enjoyed! High level of service. Very close to Grand Hyatt

Arrived here on a Saturday night and despite having no reservation we were accommodated. Great attentive service from Mike who served us a fantastic New York sirloin with creamy spinach and mushrooms. Topped of with beer and wine, we had a great experience at this top notch venue

Came here upon recommendation!!! Wish I hadn’t have bothered as it was probably the worst food I’ve ever been served in what is supposed to be an high end restaurant. Agin service 1/10 we was completely rushed at our table we had the lobster bisque to much cream not enough seasoning and not any sign of lobster !! Not even finished the starter and the main appeared the baked potato was rock hard again should have been loaded with bacon, chive and sour cream !! And alas there was a good spoonful if that !! The fillet mignon was ordered med/rare they had charred this to death ! Over cooked ! Dry ! And burnt ! To the point it was unbearable to eat ! So having told the waiter and the manager about this they tried to tell me the steaks are cooked at 700 degrees! So I thought it was only right at this point to explain to them to had been in the catering industry for 35 years !! And even offered to go and cook one myself ! Obviously they declined. They offered to replace the food which I declined by saying at the prices you charge if you can’t get it right the first time there’s no chance for the second attempt. So with 3/4 of the potato and 3/4 of the steak going back the bill appeared and wanted paying in full for this awful food !!! So not to embarrass myself I paid their $291 check !!!!! So if you are wondering why I only left a $18 dollar tip you know why !!! I would have left zero but then I thought no leave the $18 and let them buy a book on how to cook for beginners!!! The manager was rude, unprofessional and discourteous!! You don’t deserve mine or anyone else business! A disgrace to the industry So if you are thinking of eating here don’t !!!!

Amazing steak and food in general - this has got to be one of the best steak houses in New York. Not the cheapest place in town at about $150 a head (main course, 2 drinks each and a shared dessert), but just about worth it. The location is good, just off 5th street and a 5 minute walk from Grand Central station. The restaurant itself was nicely fitted out although quite dark with low lighting- to the point we were squinting at the menu a bit. Service was professional and formal - waiter not particularly chatty, but no big deal. I had a ribeye steak which was excellent quality meat, beautifully cooked and flavoured. Massive steak (20oz)! Ordered sides of fries and 2 vegetables, but couldn’t eat them all - suggest sharing. Felt the sides (at least the fries) should have been included with steak for the price ($95) - they were $15-$19 each, which was too pricy for what they were. My wife had the fillet steak 12oz which was again beautifully cooked and served. We shared a dessert of crème brûlée as too full - again, very good quality and flavour. All in all an excellent experience, but only for an occasional visit as very expensive even by New York standards.

We had a most enjoyable dinner here. The place is as busy as any restaurant ive ever been in, and its not just because its Christmas. Quality food and service is evident at every stage of dinner. We had 2 perfectly cooked filets, creamless creamed spinach, benjamin potatoes, and salads that were fresh and enjoyable. Service was on top of everything all night, with many servers and bus staff seemingly everywhere at one time. And to top it all off, we got to meet Benjamin himself, the epitome of the American dream of a young man coming to America, working hard, and building a chain of fantastic dining venues. This will not be our last visit to any one of Benjamins restaurants and we feel fortunate to have found this one. And youll need a reservation to dine here, because its not a New York secret anymore. This is a truly great dining experience

We had a dinner yesterday that place. As my American friend suggested we had of course a reservation and it was really necessary. The restaurant was absolutely full. On the other we were waiting only some minutes for our table. We have an enjoyable discussion about the dishes and wines with our server and finally we have followed his recommendation but I have decided to select a nice Zinfandel from Napa Valley instead of a Cabernet Sauvignon. I prefer to drink real American wine if it matches my dish instead selecting a little bit international kind of wine. Our first course was a fabulous French onion soup with a nice rose. As a main course I have chosen a very tasty ribeye steak. I can really recommend this place for steak and wine lovers!
Mediocre
Food was good , had better for the price range . Service was not good . Waiters very arrogant and seemed to only be focused on what their tip would be.
