We loved this place with my wife, food is great almost all dishes are delicious. Go for Riesling white wine great choice. Massala Chicken Curry!

We stopped for a late lunch and were not disappointed. We had stewed lamb, chicken, stewed okra and buttered naan. The okra was a bit overcooked but still good. Everything else exceeded our expectation. Friendly service and efficient. We will go back.

Staff is very kind and helpful (our first visit to an Indian restaurant) Prices are very correct (first place in NYC where a good bottle of wine ‘only’ costs 40 USD). Food is delicious!

We ordered paneer, korma, garlic naans and veg biryani. Food was amazing ! Loved it ! Definitely coming here on my next visit to NY !

Found by accident in the morning while looking for bagles came back this ender king fabulous food great value and large portions.

Best Indian food I've had since going to London. I had the goat curry, wife had chicken xacuti (tasted like a curry with coconut). We split garlic naan. All amazing. Dishes do not come with rice and they don't really tell you that so make sure to order a side of rice.

The food was awesome! Service was excellent. I was walking by and decided to stop in for dinner. A very good choice. The vindaloo was fantastic!

We ordered mostly vegetarian food and we loved it . Thur Chicken rolls kababa was nice too .. good food good service . Delicious taste to the food . Breads were fresh and tasted authentic

Great place to grab lunch if you're able to grab a table. What's nice about Bhatti is instead of doing lunch buffet style, you sit down and they start bringing you food. All the standards you'd expect.

I went there only once, but Bhatti Grill was awesome. I loved the food. Try their tandoor vegi platter, daal and paneer. All food was just amazing. Staff was good. I would rate it much higher than Dhaba which used to be my go to place. Highly recommended, amazing food - Tandood Veg Platter, daal, and paneer tikka masala. Will definitely go there again.

I dropped in on an impulse for biryani. They had a good set lunch advertised but I decided to just go for the goat biryani. It was delicious. A bit spicy but to die for. As usual could not finish and had to take some home. My husband loved it too.

Super!! Intense flavors, succulent chicken and fresh vegetables, all kind of dishis need a special mention.. excellent service!! Try!

The food is a average. We ordered the kebabs which was good. The mains were average. The food is pricey. Will not visit the same again.

Basically, everything was had was poorly spiced, oversauced, and not very good. This chili cauliflower was not crispy enough and drowned in a sauce that was too sweet. The black dal, which should be an amazingly complex, flavorful, and creamy dish - one of the best things I've ever had in India - was a boring bowl of dal in tomato sauce. The Chicken Tikka Masala has no flavor and seemed like roasted chicken that had not been marinated in any spices - and the few pieces of chicken we got were again drowned in a not very good tomato sauce. The wine, at $10/glass, I expected to be at least decent but wasn't - and I suspect they get two bottles for what we paid for one glass. While the hostess was pleasant, the serving staff ranged from efficient to perfunctory. Not what Indian food should be and not a place I would return to.

Celebrated my birthday at Bhatti with my brother and a friend.I must say the food was delicious! We shared ( can’t remember the names, sorry) paneer with spinach, chicken in chettinand style, vegetables and another chicken dish and we just loved it! The service was impeccable, the restaurant y cozy and nicely decorated, very stylish!.... Thank you Fatima for making us feel welcomed, I will definitely go back on my next trip to NYC

We were regulars at this restaurant, big fans of their food and service. We would never go to any other North Indian restaurants in the area. We live an hour from the city but would especially make trips only to eat at our favorite Bhatti. But our last couple times we were so disappointed by the food, service and the attitude of the staff that we decided never to go back there any more. The portion sizes have halved, and the dishes don't even taste as good as they used to. This place has changed but for the worse and that's very disappointing because this was our go-to place to feel "at home in India" every time we ate their kebabs and curries.

Our party of three ordered three different entrees and two breads. The entrees were delicious, the portions were generous, and the butter naan was especially delicious, BUT we had never before had to pay extra ($2.95) for plain steamed rice to accompany a curry dish! I ordered Chicken Korma ($14.95), but was given Murg Nizami Korma ($16.95) instead. (At least it was really delicious.) One of my friends asked for a "yellow" curry (no tomato in the sauce), but we're not sure what kind of curry they gave her. So, we had mixed feelings about the place, but agreed the food was delicious.

Great north Indian food. However, the food is a little blander than traditional Indian cuisine, better suited for Western Palates. All good food generally

Went with friends and enjoyed some good food with a moderate spice level. The service was “relaxed”, meaning that you needed to flag someone down to put in your order, but as we were enjoying a leisurely chat with friends, not being rushed was a nice feature for us. We enjoyed both appetizers we tried, the mushrooms, but the best was the chicken thighs, nicely cooked and juicy not dry, and with a moderate-high spiciness. I had the lamb rogan josh main, which was again full of flavor, and quite tender. Rice seems to be a side order, but was a decent but not huge size. The breads (naaa, roti) were very fresh (made to order no doubt), and just about perfect. This place will have to keep it’s standards high as there are at least 6 other Indian restaurants on the same block all competing for business.

Went with a friend. Chicken Tikka masala was solid although a bit spicy. Bread was good, drinks were good, as good as you could hope for for an Indian restaurant. It's a small space so beware any rowdy groups that will take over the entire sound of the restaurant.

The folks at Bhatti take good care of heir patrons. This was evident when the person who was taking the order immediately said that they'll give the Papads for free. They didn't have to. Then there was the service. Anything I asked for onions, green chillies, chaat masala was quickly put on the table with a smile on their faces. The food was fantastic too with a lip-smacking offering of tandoori chicken tikka and a memorable dal tadka. Separately I will also remember this as the restaurant where I bumped into a doyen of Indian cinema- Vishal Bhardwaj just outside the restaurant. :-)

My husband and I had a fantastic dinner here. We split a delicious potato patty for an appetizer. It was served atop a chickpea sauce. I wish in hindsight we each ordered one! We of course ordered naan which was fresh and wonderful. My entree was their signature shrimp masala. Perfect. I lopped up every bit of the sauce with my bread. I highly recommend stopping in or getting take out.

Just returned here for the second time. Took someone here to celebrate a birthday. We went for the $14 lunch special. They keep bringing out more and more and more food. Lost count of how many courses we had—-and everything was really great and flavorful. By the way, excellent service and lovely decor.

Very delicious indian vegetarian food. I have tried couple of other places in Lexington Ave. in NYC but I find this one much better even though the price is on higher side. Single table for 2 is of less space, so go with 3 or more people. I am pure vegetarian, so read other reviews on non-veg food.

Delicious food. Really impressed with the veggie options and it tasted great. Only thing was the service was so fast it didn't allow for much of a dining experience. We were paying the bill within about 30mins of arriving and felt that we had to leave due to the queue of people waiting for a table even though we were really full and could have done with a bit more time to digest! But I won't forget the food in a long time - it was excellent.

I am an Indian, and I’ve tasted the best Indian food not only cooked by my mother but all the fabulous Indian restaurants in the United Kingdom And food cooked by myself of course! I stumbled upon but the Indian Grill by accident, and I was pleasantly surprised and taken aback. The food is absolutely delicious. All the spices used are perfect and the consistency and the freshness of the food will blow your mind - absolutely delicious! The SAG tastes exactly like socks shirt. It’s not too heavy, not too creamy, it is perfect reminds me of the SAAG that my mom used to make and that’s a huge compliment. My advice to you is going to taste the food and putting the grill you will absolutely love it

We booked the whole restaurant for a private lunch. Our group ranged from young kids all the way to guests from India and everyone left happy and full. The place only seats about 40 people but it had the perfect atmosphere. It was modern and cozy without those typical traditional outdated decorations. The service was outstanding. Make sure to try the Bhatti Da Murgh and the Chicken Tikka Masala. I look forward to going back with a much smaller group.

Food was ok, nothing special. Decor and ambience are good for an Indian restaurant. Much better places for Pakistani and Indian food in New York. Will not be coming here again.

NOTE TO BHATTI! Do NOT post a menu in the window with prices average $5 less than you charge (it's an old menu..we're wise to your tricks). #2 DO offer rice or bread with an overpriced entree. #3 DO NOT put a "kebab" dish on the menu which is not a kebab, but a mushy patty, well seasoned though. Been eating Indian since the curry carts were brought to E 6th street in the 60's. GET WISE or LOSE YOUR CUSTOMERS!!

Best shammi kabab in New York!! The food here is excellent! Being an Indian I can vouch for this one! Their shahi lamb, the paneer tikka and the kabab.. just has me going back there again and again! My Japanese friend loves it too!

Unpretentious neighbourhood Authentic Indian restaurant. Must try the tandoori chicken kebabs and the gilauti is truly melt in the mouth stuff. Butter chicken was as good as if not better than anything in India. Friendly staff.

It took us a long time to get a table and even longer for the food to arrive. They said it was because we had ordered too many different types of kabobs. But is was worth the with. Succullent kabobs with hot parathas. The kids loved their butter hans. The biryani was a bit spicy and we have had better in other places.

this is a small place and can get crowded especially on a holiday such as mother;s day. we did not have a reservation so was told to come back in 30 min. and took our cell phone number. we came back and was let right in. The staff is good and fast and food delish. I had the lamb chops this time= they are marinated in spices and very good. There are several indian restaurants in this street row and they are all good no doubt but this is one of the best- michelin rated also- the space is small so if you want a bigger place its not for you

We had dinner at Bhatti Indian Grill …. And …. it was AWESOME!!! Their outdoor dining space was warm and very beautifully decorated. We ordered a veg and non-veg platter with a delicious variety of vegetables, paneer, aloo, and stuffed mushroom, all fired in the tandoor. The chicken and lamb chops each with a unique marinade were savory. We also had the Dal Batti, Chicken Kadai Masala, and several other dishes with a mixed variety bread basket, rice, and raita. I was searching for a sense of normalcy, I certainly found it here. I highly recommend making a reservation to dine there, or certainly pick up food to takeout. You won’t be disappointed.

Basic indian fare good. Veg platter was a mish mash with fried tofu type cheese, tasteless mushroom stuffed with some green tasteless filling, a potato stuffed with something bland. This was a very strange dish.

Inspite of having a booking, we had to wait outside for 45 minutes and it was very inconsiderate..We were very happy with the food though..The black dal is a must try

We had a discount from seamless so tried them out. The food was very good, but portions were smaller than the other indian restaurants in the area. We had take out but the place seems romantic, dim lighting & close seating.

Enjoyed eating here despite it being very crowded. The portion sizes were just right and the nan breads were sublime

Our first post-pandemic visit to NYC started off with rain, unseasonably cool weather. We searched the neighborhood for an outdoor restaurant offering food inspired by India. What fantastic luck! Bhatti offers elegant, deeply flavorful food that had us exclaiming with happiness in-between bites. Truly a special meal in a city we love dearly.

Lovely food. Great mixed grills. Paneer was amazing! Would defo go again. Service was good..! One of best tried in manhattan!

Great food. We had the Chicken masala, chicken korma, and some cauliflower dish. All were amazing. The dinning room was like 12 tables. Very small so either get a reservation or be prepared to wait.

Nice choices and ample fare for vegetarians and meat eaters alike. Although seating is tight, food is presented well and all was tasty. Eggplant appetizer was great!

On a five-night visit to NYC, Bhatti was the only place we went back to more than once for dinner. As British citizens from the Midlands region, where curry-eating is practically a religion, we were delighted at finding good quality curry just around the corner from our hotel on East 28th Street and Park Avenue. The decor is classy, cosy, and its location on the street corner means you can get a good view of the world passing by. Drinks are relatively well-priced, and though selection limited, you can get the staples, like Kingfisher beer or a glass of red or white wine. We had, variously, the chicken Makhanwala, Tikka Masala and Biryani. All were really very tasty, and there were no complaints. Portion sizes were generous, the sauces, beautifully tasty, and the meat cooked until tender. We had ours with lemon rice, which was fragrant without being perfumed, and I cannot speak highly enough of the garlic naan, which was light, yet rich in flavour. Staff were attentive, polite, refilled our glasses and seemed to enjoy their work. I highly recommend this curry house, for couples wanting dinner.

Small elegant Indian restaurant off Park Ave South with attentive service and authentic well prepared food. Not the largest menu, but good variety. Busy place. We were lucky to get in without a reservation. The only negative is the loudness due to small size and wood floors.

People who are done with Indian Buffet may like to try week day lunch here. You don’t have to get up and walk to your food. You name the dish and it comes to you till you can eat. Lot of variety and Tandoori meats are quite good. Vegetarian people can try Panner Tikka and North Indian dishes. I enjoy my visit there. I hope they can offer similar setup in the evenings also.

We made reservations for 8, and they were SLAMMED, so we hung out near the bar and had a glass of complimentary wine. We were seated after profuse apologies, and had the kebab appetizer, Biryani, and Paneer. So, so good, great service despite the business. We would go back in heartbeat.

I'm sad it has come to this. I've been a regular at Bhatti Indian Grill and proudly suggested the place to anyone wanting good Indian food. However on 10/22/2019 a bad experience has changed my outlook towards this place. The restaurant's management is un-reachable and has so far not bothered to reach out to me. I visited Bhatti Grill for lunch with my family and everything was going fine when the server accidentally dropped some curry on my sweater and 200 dollar down jacket. The funny thing is instead of identifying this error himself, it was the people on the other side that pointed out that this has happened. The hostess present on site was quick to arrive with napkins to clean off the stain however you can't remove turmeric stains from a down jacket and a wool sweater with just napkins. The server was unapologetic and I quietly requested the hostess to have my jacket dry cleaned and sent to my hotel in Manhattan. Everything seemed fine however when the jacket did arrive at my hotel, the stain was still there and there was no sign of the jacket being dry cleaned. It was only when I called in the restaurant again, that I realized who I was dealing with. I was told blatantly to come back to the restaurant and that my jacket will be sent for cleaning this time. I was still unable to reach the manager or anyone from the management of this restaurant and had to hear some unpleasant things from an individual named Hussain. The individual even countered at one point that I could call the police if I wanted as I insisted to speak to someone more responsible. Eventually, again my jacket was kept for a few days and then mailed to me at my address in Connecticut, with the stain still there, with no word on getting reimbursed or actually cleaning my jacket. The management remains unreachable, unapologetic and least bothered with this.

We went to this restaurant for lunch and dinner on 2 different days. They serve amazing choices in North Indian food and we enjoyed ever single dish that we ordered. Naans, curries, paneer and dals were mouth-watering and sumptuous. Service was great despite being full on both occasions. Portion sizes were quite sufficient.

We decided to try this place despite the 4 stars as it was relatively close to our hotel. First impressions. It's not a hole in the wall neither is it fancy. It does have a decent ambiance. The tables are pretty small and close to each other. That is to be expected for any restaurant in the city. Upon sitting the chef came out to talk about the specials. We did both the chicken and the vegetarian option. That was the best chicken chops I have ever had. For dinner we did one fish and 2 chickens. The fish was good but the Meethi chicken and the Chicken makhanwala were perfect. It was like easting dinner in India. The chicken biryani had a tad bit extra rose water essence but was still good. I was rate the food at this place better than Tamarind or Janoon. It is definitely worth the trip. Not to mention for the quality of the food the prices are very reasonable. The only drawback is they do not have a full bar. They do have beer though.

Couldn’t fault our dinner here. Shared a few delicious curries and side dishes. Thanks for having us. Will be back next time we are in NYC.

Beyond Terrible Service. Yuck. Rude rude rude. The entire experience is take away by really terrible service. Food is hit or miss. Don’t come here.

I happen to visit this place while i was in NY and i loved it.. The food was delicious, the portion size was good and it was not very priceyy.... After that i had visited this place twice with my friends. I am a vegetarian and I did not have any problem with the manu as they had many veg options as well.

Very hospitable spot in the lower Lexington cluster. Superb dishes selected with help of staff who remained cordial while attending to near constant walk-in traffic. Receptive to solo female diners which is always delicious.

Went to this restaurant to have Gilauti kebabs which were made to perfection. The last time I had them was in Lucknow, India. Its one of those kebabs that is difficult to find in India too. I ended up eating Tandoori Murgh and on recommendation of the chef, Bhatti Da Murgh. Both were grilled to perfection and were juicy and succulent. The entrees are small enabling you to eat more than one kebab at one go. It probably is expensive but I didn't care, for the food is simply out of the world.

Person at the desk was rude. So much so that it discouraged my desire to try anything at such a nasty place.

We were recommended this place by our realtor, who also lives in the neighborhood, on the night we found our apartment. Luckily, we've never looked back! The ambiance is cozy yet eclectic, and the food really great. We've yet to have a dish we don't like, which is saying something given how often we go. The prices are reasonable enough (and portions sizable enough) that family style is the way to go -- we love ordering 2-3 starters and 2-3 entrees (with naan, of course) to share. And bonus: it's BYOB with no corking fee, and there's a wine store right across the street, so you can drink very cheaply! Two slight caveats: (1) rice costs extra (though only a couple of dollars, and one order is often enough for two people); and (2) when it's busy, the waitstaff can get a little pushy to turn tables over. Best to make a reservation, particularly for weekend dinners.

We had the last dinner in New York at Bhatti. We appreciated the small location and the nice atmosphere! They have a large variety of vegetarian dishes in addition to chicken and lamb! Butter naan is the best one I've ever tried. Middle level prices! Approved. :)

The rice was scraped off the bottom of the rice cooker, you know , the solid lump at the bottom. The tables are way too close together. When the people at the next table talked with their hands. Their hands were over our table. The waiter had to push past me (and touch me) to server the tables around us. The place had around 45 people in it it should have only had 30. It was a very noisy unpleasant dining experience. The food was tasty. Do not eat in this restaurant. A very unpleasant experience. My solution TAKE OUT dont eat in.

One of the best Indian restaurants ever. We went there for lunch and were offered lunch specials. Little did we know it comes in 10 dishes, each excellent on its own and could easily be a lunch on its own. Make sure you come on an empty stomach. Excellent, delicious and generously portioned. While we were dining, there were lots of people patiently waiting in the melting NYC sun for a seat - it is very popular.

I was looking for an Indian restaurant down the street and ended up at the bhatti. I did not expect the food to be so good, and it was without a doubt the best Indian food I have ever tasted.

We were in New York and looked online for best Indian food in New York and Bhatti was highly rated. We didn’t book a table and we turned up and the place was absolutely rammed. It was my 30th birthday and they accommodated me and got me a table for 2. The food was absolutely superb. Chicken and lamb was cooked to perfection and the prices are so so reasonable, not any dearer than going out for a curry in Edinburgh or London. Would 10000% recommend this place

We visited this place to have authentic Indian cuisine in New York city for our dinner during our recent trip to New York City. The food was very tasty and staff was very warm and helpful. We enjoyed food and ambience.

A quick but very fulfilling late night bite. This is a small but super busy North Indian place nestled on the corner of Lexington and 28th next to a ton of other Indian places. I picked this one over others as frankly it just looked a little nicer and I really fancied Kebabs which this place seemed to specialize in. I was not disappointed, I ordered a meat mixed grill platter, a butter nan with a sweet mango lassi to wash it down. The kebabs were excellent, a mixture of chicken and lamb which were succulent, spicy and delicious. Highlight was the lamb chop which was just divine. If I get over to NYC again i'll order a plate of just the chops. The nan and lassi were good too. All in all the cost was just under $30 which is OK. Service was a tiny bit slow but it was very busy so no real issues. Recommended.

Bhatti is one of the most visited places by me and friends on teh street. The place has good food and almost full most of the time. Only thing to take acre is slow service, but that can be overlooked against teh food quality.

We were renting an apartment in this area so we decided to eat here rather than travel far. As it is slightly off the beaten track it is a bit cheaper than other areas. We were very pleased with our dinner. The Metro bus stops just a few yards away on Lexington stop 28 St East.

Congested, rude staff and bland food. In a sea of Indian restaurants at every corner around Times Square , it’s amazing they are still open. Very basic menu and that too was tasteless!

Been to a lot of Indian restaurants and Bhatti consistently delivers a delicious meal. Our favorite meals are the Chicken Tikka Masala and their Mixed Grill. Unfortunately the place is small, so it is hard to get a table, but no worries as you don't lose the taste with takeout.

Lexington Avenue around 29th street in Manhattan is a place where I first discovered Indian restaurants in the late 1960s and to this day it is an Indian oasis in the middle of this great city of ours. Last night I went into Bhatti's because it seemed crowded and I had never tried it before. The two appetizers we ordered , Haryali Chicken , and Murgh tandoori, turned to be exquisitely flavored and cooked to perfection- moist, tender and absolutely delicious ! The regular Naans were also one of the best I have had in a long time .. I tried Lamb Vindaloo and Dahl as the main course and the Vindaloo was good but the Dahl not so good.. The staff was exceptionally polite and efficient . Jamil Lone.

The Best Indian Food I have had in NYC. The first time I did not get a table, I had to go to Dhaba next door which was Average. The second time I did not get a table so we went to Junoon. The third time I persuaded them to give me a table as I could not plan & book in advance. It's much better than the Michelin Star Junoon also. Getting a table here is very difficult but absolutely worth the wait. Highly Recommended are 1. Ghar Wali Fish Curry 2. Chicken Makhanwala 3. Onion Kulcha Staff too is very friendly, especially Mr. Nelson. The Service is Excellent. Not to be missed in NYC

I and my husband are both like Indian food very much! And this place was very good! Very polite waiter and very taste food. I recommend you!

Lovely food, can't fault that. However, the most surreal dining experience of my life. About 5 mins after I ordered, the owner walks in to a table of friends; apparently it's his birthday. He starts shouting, telling the staff to close the restaurant and ordering them to put the music up to a deafening level. If I hadn't had earphones to put in to drown out the noise, I would have walked out. Intermittently he was yelling at staff to 'tell everyone to get the f**k out' (I'm about 2 metres away at this point), and would tell any unfortunate hopeful diners that they were closed (this was 1.5 hours before advertised closing). Restaurant staff were evidently embarrassed and incapable of doing anything since the owner is clearly a drunk tyrant. I would in no way recommend you giving your custom to an owner so arrogant and disdainful of his customers - if you want to have a party in your own restaurant, close it to customers. But yeah, the food was nice, compliments to the chef.

I was pleasantly surprised by how good the food was. I had ordered a salmon dish and it was delicious! The mango lassi was amazing. The service was very good as well. It is a bit of a small restaurant but it's a nice spot.

Be site to try their signature dishes for wonderful flavor combinations! Beer menu was limited, and not interesting.

Food was good, actually quite authentic and they are very kind. My kids wanted a Korma, but what they brought was a different Korma and they didn't like it. The owner offered them a Tikka masala for free, which I really appreciated.

Arrived at about 12:30 p.m. on a Friday for lunch. Waited about 45 minutes to be seated but it was generally worth the wait. Opted for the $10.95 lunch special and received enough food for the two of us who were dining plus another person. The portions were very generous. I enjoyed pretty much everything I had and my only criticism would be that there was not much explanation of the dishes that we were served. I'm sure the many Indians in the place knew the dishes by heart but as an American I might have enjoyed a bit of explanation of the dishes and their major ingredients. A minor issue and the meal was very good overall. Recommended.

Nice small restaurant with good service. Delicious indian food with authentic spices. Good value for money.

Bhatti has the best kebabs in Manhatten. They have really good and authentic North Indian food. The service is pretty good too. The place is small so make sure you reserve a table before you go.

We got there late at night and the restaurant was full. Waited about 15 minutes before seating and it was worth the wait. The staff was very friendly and the food arrived fairly quick. The food tasted like authentic food from India and we all loved it. Will recommend this restaurant to anyone.

My friends and I had the buffet lunch for $12.95. We were given a great assortment of vegetarian and meat options, about 10 different dishes. The food was delicious and the service prompt. When it came time to leave, we had quite a bit of food left. When I asked to take the leftovers home, I was told they don't allow it. Presumably this is because it's buffet-style. However, we didn't ask for seconds. I wanted to take what was left over from what they served. It's a terrible waste of food. For this reason, I can't give Bhatti a 5-star rating. The management should reconsider this policy. It's senseless.

highly recommendable, reasonable pricing, very good service and guest orientated staff. go there if you have the chance (we had the dal bhatti, chicken masala and the dish with chick peas)

we spent over $100 on a lunch meal for 2 here on a weekday. The menu is huge but they cook everything in soy oil for the sake of low price. Soy is a known allergen and should not be used in a restuarant. So we ordered the few items they had which were not cooked. The food was very mediocre. the only good item was mushrroom with cheese. All the other items were old and flavorless and very overpriced. the lamb tikka was so old we were worried that we may fall sick from bad food. The bill at the end without drinks was $106. Please avoid this place.

Bhatti is my go-to for Indian in New York City. The food is consistently good and flavorful! You can bring your own wine.

we were for lunch..had done a reservation for noon the previous day..when we reached there , there was hardly anybody (as in customers)..but as time progressed it became housefull with almost 15 ppl waiting outside..talks wonders about the restaurant..we were vegetarians and had mentioned them the moment we were seated..good variety of food..they have a pre fixed buffet menu but served at tables and quantity can be asked for more if insufficient.. nice north indian food..definitely try the mango lassi, was yum..had bhelpuri & dahi bhalla for starters..roti + palak paneer & aloo bhindi, rice + dal & for deserts its rice pudding..will definitely come back next time.

When we arrived for dinner the place was full, but a waitress indicated if we waited for two minutes they could seat us as a table was about to pay the bill. We sat down but then had a long wait for menus - people who walked in after us were served before us. We did eventually order and the food was good, but not outstanding. We had a chicken dish, which was very good, but the lamb curry we ordered was a little disappointing as it was very fatty and the meat hadn't been cooked very well. Overall it was fine, but not outstanding and we'd probably try another curry house enarby rather than returning in future.

It is so disappointing to go to an Indian restaurant and the flavor of the food is dumbed down -- or tamed -- for American tastes. Not so here! If you can't stand the heat, do not eat at Bhatti . . . go elsewhere.

This small joint in the middle of the Indian district in NY which is dotted with various Indian, Pakistani & many other mixed south east Asian food joints is the best place for typical North Indian food.

We had a 30 minute wait before we were seen by a waiter. There were no offers of drinks, we had to ask for a waiter multiple times. The waiter provided us with food that we did not order and we were still charged for this. We received no service at all throughout the entire evening. We were still required to tip; it seems that the social expectation of tipping could be a factor as to why staff did not appear invested in their customers. We noticed a number of tourists arguing with waiting staff over tip despite their lack of service.

Had the most unpleasant dining experience. Kenny the guy who took ours order - such a misfit for hospitality industry. Unfriendly. Not warm. Kept telling me that they do not have paper menu. What if someone older walks in with no smart phone. He stood there with his arms folded and taking orders. Not a single crack of smile nor offering input about food choice. An uninviting / judgemental from the get go. I have been to hundreds of restaurant in my life time. Today I sat and ate woody over ripped okra. UNPALATABLE!! Chewing like a cow just to suck out the flavours. As a cook, when one puts the knife through the okra when preparing it, ONE SHOULD KNOW. And Kenny’s demeanour did not help to raise the issue until the end. And he did not apologize nor offered any kind of discount!! NEVER GOING BACK!! And yet we tipped 20%!! Its called gratitude, undeserving!!

I booked this reservation on open table, and then called to ask if we could come an hour later and they said yes. We were seated immediately at 8:00 and people kept streaming in. The place was packed at 10:00pm on Christmas Day! Try not to sit by the door because it is open most of the time. We ordered chicken tikka masala, lamb korma, chicken xacuti and bharwan bhindi (okra) and everything was delicious. They charge extra for rice and also offered 2 orders of naan as if it were free (and we would not have ordered it). But we had a very enjoyable meal.

I only go here for lunch since my office is a block away. It gets busy very fast so you need to get there right when they open to get a table. It will get packed by 12:30 and the wait will be around 20-30 minutes after. There really isn't a menu for lunch and by that I mean they just bring different varieties of foods of the day (most being the same daily) to your table starting with appetizers, veg and non veg curries, rice, dal, naan, and dessert. They bring a TON of food to your table and it honestly never gets finished unless you come with a bigger group. Everything they bring to the table is amazing and we always go whenever we can get out of work earlier for lunch to get a table. You can even ask for more of whatever you like most. Superb lunch spot

Loved the Tandoori Chicken and the whipped spinach dish, also we had a chicken dish that was grilled and had a white sauce ( Murgh Malai ) and it was absolutely delicious. Good service too, I wonder if they are inconsistent though. Our meal was so wonderful and there are quite a few reviews that are displeased so perhaps it depends on who is cooking when you go there.

My family and I visited Bhatti while in NYC moving our daughter into her apartment. We requested outdoor seating but we’re seated indoors - which was fine. The restaurant is small and dark but is a very nice/ upscale Indian restaurant. Oddly we were told upon arrival that our reservation was cancelled but since we arrived early they would seat us (we hadn’t received a cancellation notice so I’m not sure what that was about). We ordered banarsi chatt, butter chicken, paneer tikka masala, aloo gobi, garlic naan and rice which the four of us shared. The food was absolutely amazing! The spice level was good - I’d say medium level with the paneer being a bit milder. My only complaint was that they acted like they were doing us a favor letting us eat there and were definitely in a hurry to close up as we were a late seating. The food was delicious though.

The food is actually very good, the waiter is friendly even though a bit cold. Everybody is very efficient and the ambiente is cosy (low lights). The problem is that the place is small and loud. Too many people. The cosy atmosphere fades away when you want to have a chat with friends. So the suggestion is first to book and second to go early or late, hoping that it is half empty.

I have to admit -- my standards are high, since we often go to Edison, NJ and have even casual Indian that is off the charts good. Bhatti was very good but I would not say excellent. The menu has many grill specialties, and my daughter enjoyed her Boti Tikka. Our vegetarian specialties (palak paneer) could have been a little more spicy. They did not ask for a spice level and it was very mild, which may be traditional. The dal was spicier. Small portions. I would go here again and be more specific. Reservations are a must as it is small here. Located in Murray Hill.

Bhatti Indian grill had the kind of tasty food I more than expected, the service wasn't that great even when I went there the restaurant was about 80 % unoccupied,it was on a Monday afternoon and the waiters were too lazy to serve

Was visiting NYC for 4 days, had the desire to eat Indian after an evening with friends & sangrias. My NY friend took me to his favorite Indian joint which turned out to be Bhatti Indian Grill on Lexington. Small but a nicely decored place, we ordered the house specialties - Gilauti & Reshmi kebabs, Chicken Korma with Naans and Biriyanis- 1 of each lamb and chicken. The kebabs just melted in my mouth - probably the best Gilauti I had in a long long time. The korma was tasty bit on the sweet side but good portion. The biriyanis were flavor bombs, loved the layered dum style biriyanis. We were so excited that we ended up with too much food which we couldnt finish, but we were so satisfied with the food. I can travel to NYC all over again just to eat at Bhatti's!

Bad service got in the way of excellent food... "You can only have papadam after you have made order to protect the menus" Then onto nan needing reminders as well as empty water glasses. The check landed on table immediately we had swallowed food, without asking whether we wanted dessert. Saying we did, and asking server to clean table from spilled rice he said "it is clean". Asking again he said "I'm a server, not a buzzboy", and that he had called the latter. He must have been far, since we had to brush rice aside and eat the (delicious) dessert among the spilled rice... Not going back

Having read good things about this Indian restaurant we decided to give it a go on our first night in New York as it was very close to the hotel and we were shattered. From the outside it was obviously packed which was encouraging. We walked in and asked for a table for three and were told rather abruptly to wait. There were a couple of empty tables and when I attempted to sit at one I was again told to wait!. The rude waiter then proceeded to wipe down the table mats and table cloths by simply flicking all food debris on to the floor and seats!! We were then shown to the table I had originally tried to sit at. We were not encouraged by this as the floor was filthy. Nevertheless tired and hungry we decided to persevere. We ordered mains, rice and naan and waited. Shorty after we were presented with four poppadoms and a pickle tray. The poppadums were those awful microwavable ones you get in a packet. The pickles weren't great either. When the food arrived it all looked very nice and the Curry Goat and my Fish Curry were excellent. The rice was passable and the Garlic Naan was greasy and not very nice. Unfortunately my wife's Paneer curry was just a blast of almost inedible hotness made from mushy cottage cheese. Horrid!! We ate what we could, paid and left. The interior of the restaurant is dull, the service is brusque at best and the cooking is mixed. Shame!!

We had dinner here as a walk in and it was pleasant enough. I felt the menu was a bit limited if you like your Indian food spicy, with very few hot dishes on there - especially for a Brit used to curries in the UK! Service was pleasant but could have been a bit more attentive. We had to remind the waiter we had ordered a second beer. You will get a decent meal there, especially if you don’t know the area and any better Indian food places.

Thoroughly enjoyed our meal at Bhatti. Kebab starter was one of the best we have had. Curries also very tasty and lamb cooked beautifully. Would highly recommend.

We intended to have dinner across the street at a place we read about in Trip Advisor but it was no longer in business. We crossed the street to Bhatti on a whim. It was really good. Service was efficient and unrushed. We enjoyed the tandoori chicken and a spicy beef. The okra dish was really nice. We will go back.

We ordered a fish a chicken and a vegetarian dish. We ordered naan + and so we had to remind the waitstaff several times to get our order straight when it came it was absolutely delicious worth going back for I'll go back there again. I give the food at 5 plus I give the service about a 2 but together it's Solid 4 and I would encourage you if you want really good Indian food to go to this restaurant.

Corner location serving high quality Indian food. Fresh baked items made daily. Attentive service in an intimate setting.

Always dine here whenever I visit my daughter in NYC. She enjoys ordering in from them. We enjoy the lamb kabobs bhatti murgh and paneer kabob and of course the garlic naan. The staff are friendly. It is a small restaurant so the noise level is high as they are usually full unless you dine early.

If you want to be treated with respect then avoid this place. The waiting staff were rude and not as attentive as observed to be with other customers. Food was nice but the staff let the place down.

I walked it and ordered a lamb kebab with yoghurt sauce. It was so good that I came back for another oen 10 minutes later. I was a toursit in new york and i wish there was one of this back home. I can't tell anything about the services since I did not eat in. Five stars for me.

Great food, tasty and spicy dishes at the right point. Great Indian beer and courteous and generous service of explanations and descriptions

One of the top class food home away from India. Even better than India. Will do come again. You will not be disappointed. Unlimited course of non veg and veg meal during lunch. Keep it up.

Very nice ambiance, the service is diligent and polite, absolutely original Indian food, quite a deal for New York, portions are good, menu contains everything you expect including the breads and sauces.

We visit the city every Xmas, and always come here. The food is always great, the atmosphere is wonderful (better than the other places in the neighborhood), and the service is attentive and accommodating. Make a reservation, though, because it’s a small place and is always packed.

Craving that Na'an that Chicken Tikka with a large King Fischer. This is your spot! Wait staff is solid and they make it spicy. Mix grill platter is a must get the full so you try the lamb chops

We had a very good vegetarian meal at Bhatti, Good selection and fast service. This small restaurant is quiet and off the beaten track.

This restaurant is very pretty, clean, and cozy, and the staff were friendly. However, the food was just average - not bad, not delicious. Would not return.

Bhatti Indian Grill, part of NYC's 'Curry Hill' at Lex and 27th Street, is a delightful find. Small with tight but comfortable seating. Introduced to me by Indian colleagues because of its unlimited weekday lunch special ($12), offered in both vegetarian and non-vegetarian versions. Place was full at lunch time, mix of Westerners and Indians. The owner sets the lunch special menu each day. Loved the appetizer, included in the lunch special, seemed to be Chicken Makhanwala (Butter Chicken). Main entrée was Lamb Rogan Josh and Chicken Tikka Masala . Naan breads of course also included. Not a dessert person but loved the rice pudding. Also sampled Gobi Mussalum, part of vegetarian lunch, which reminded me of Gobi Manchurian. Bhatti also delivers in the area. Next time I return, I will check out the Lamb Vindaloo…a personal favorite. Quality lunch. Good value. Tip: No Booze license. Believe BYOB is permitted, though no one was drinking at lunch time. Rated 5 Circles based on overall quality and value. Now part of my go-to list in Curry Hill.

Went for dinner today. Took 45 minutes to get our appetizers. Very tiny and probably the most noisy restaurant I have visited. Food was good. Tandoori stuff is good. Chicken tikka is sweet enough to be in the dessert category. The manager/server in the wig has absolutely no service skills. He is rude and not helpful at all.

Restaurant was selected by my daughter as she had been here before and enjoyed it. Food was good portions good staff not as accommodating as her previous visit ( then they allowed her to charge her phone; this time not, I waited over half hour to have contact with her when all the time she was sitting in restaurant waiting for me, I who does not know this area of the city well was just down the block!! waiting for her phone response.. really they couldn't allow just a few moments to charge?) Was good by the time we left place was full !! and this was a mid week evening...

I ordered the lamb biryani and garlic naan. It was wonderful. Very fresh and full of flavor. It is served with a creamy yogurt sauce which helps to cut some of the heat down. Wasn't asked about a heat level when ordering which was fine. Had it been any hotter- I don't think I would've enjoyed it. The service and the bathroom left something to be desired but otherwise a great chic spot. Good value and portion size as well.

Very nice Indian foods. Although the restaurant is a little bit small and not comfy, the taste of the foods swipe all the negative effects. Recommend for a healthy diner.

Stopped by and had their lunch buffet while visiting the city and craving desi food. The place did not disappoint. The servings for their lunch buffet were generous and everything they brought to the table was delicious. We ended up eating a lot and it was great for the price. Would come back if in the area.

Quite possibly, it is the only place where Indian food is served Brazilian Style. Unlimited meat and vegetarian dishes brought right to your table Go when you are really hungry and you want to eat for over an hour. Starting with Chicken Kabob, Grilled, Tandoori, Fish, Masala, Goat and so on. You ask for it, they keep bringing. In a group of 4-5 is ideal so you get to try almost every dish from North India.

I visited New York and went to this restaurant and found it to be very good for the Indian food. I usually go to Lexington Ave every time when I come to New York but this place is definitely a good one. I tried Gilauti Kawab which was super super moist and melting in mouth. I also tried Dum Gosht Biryani and Mango Lassi which were also good.

Intense flavors, succulent lamb, fresh vegetables, excellent service--we'll go back! Marilyn and Fred L.

Small restaurant, very cramped. Good food, authentic North Indian flavors, quick service, good ambience. Portions a bit small in my opinion but the prices are reasonable. I wanted Matar Paneer that wasn't on menu, but asked and they made it for us without problem! We loved this place and decided to visit once again.

This restaurant definitely has more of a formal/upscale feeling to it, with the inflated prices to match. Similarly, the service was rather uppity. The rice is on the bland side, so I would advice patrons to order the naan instead. The mushroom butter masala was tasty but a little too heavy on the butter. Everything seemed to be lacking that little extra kick of flavor and spice that I have come to expect from Indian cuisine.

Try their paneer tandoor appetizers. They are soft, well seasoned and overall great! Love their Dal Tadka.. The attention to service can improve a notch though...

Bhatti Indian restaurant is located on Lexington Avenue. It’s a North Indian origin and the food is not your typical New York Prices.

We tried this place on our visit to New York. Our daughter who lives there suggested we try the place. The food is something like we would get in a nice restaurant in India. We usually, don't go out for Indian food in southern California as feel the indian food is not that good there but here in New York the indian food that we have had in a few restaurants is very good. We tried the vegetarian kebab platter, gauloti kebab and couple of non veg chicken dishes and also a vegetarian dish. Everthing was good . The naan, kulcha and tandoori roti were also very good. Would definitely recommend the place. It gets very busy so would suggest making reservations.

Situated in the corner of Lexington and 27th the restaurant is hard to miss. The decor of the restaurant is subtle and well done. Now to the main topic of food, the papad that was served as I waited for my food was not completely roasted, once the food arrived it looked very appetizing however I was in for a surprise! I had ordered the vegetarian appetizer platter and a butter Naan with that. The so called kebabs were burnt on the outside and almost tasted like charcoal. The butter Naan lacked the butter and was lumpy and not evenly cooked. Now for the service the server never smiled nor was there any exchange of pleasantries, when asked if the food would be too much for a single person he gave a very vague answer and at the end he never inquired how my meal was despite seeing the amount of food I have not eaten. All in all will never recommend it to anyone.

Bhatti Indian Grill serves authentic Indian Food. There are lot of options for both vegetarians and non vegetarians. Their desserts are good too. They serve you well, and you don't have to wait long for your order.

Most Indian establishments allow BYOB wines. This establishment waives the corking fee if you purchased at least 1 bottle from their lousy selection. All wines are $40 a bottle and they are lousy in quality. From my experienced tastebuds, they are less than $9 a bottle in the wholesale market. For a small establishment, this venue is overstaffed and yet, none of them seem to be available to be flagged down. There is a serious communication problem between the waitstaff, the kitchen and the support staff. The waiters were very eager to get our dinner order and yet, they don't bother checking with us why we didn't touch our food. For over 30 mins after they dropped the first platter, we waited patiently for the rest of the food that we were sharing. By the time other plates arrived, the first platter was cold. They did not even offer to reheat the platter for us, nor apologized for the confusion. Like most airlines, this restaurant also started modularizing every item for sale. Rice, bread and chutneys are no longer included in the standard prices. They are additional charges. Now, onto the food: the flavors are very intense. It's on par with standard northern Indian restaurants found in NYC... not too hot to burn the tongue, and not too bland they all taste the same. I wish I had more exciting adjectives to describe their food.

The restaurant has pretty decor. It is very tiny and noisy but the service is efficient and the food is outstanding.

Located in “curry hill” amidst a bunch of Indian and Pakistani restaurants. Average food, good ambience.

Have eaten here many times, with pleasure. In the last year or so service has declined and the place has gotten dirtier. We ordered on line on October 20 2025. After an hour of the door dash app constantly changing the arrival time, we tried to call Bhatti. The phone was switched to an app that did not take messages. Food arrived 2 1/2 hours after ordered. When I called a day later they said yes, it was Diwali, everything was backed up, and since I got the food, what was the problem? I requested an apology and refund. They said they could do nothing about the wait, and they could not issue a refund - I had to argue with doordash. I said I would never eat there again, and they said "OK."

The food is amazing! It made me remember the original food from India! Super recommended for friends and family !!!!!!!

Me and my husband, from the UK love a good curry!! We really fancied having a nice Indian dinner and this was close by to where we were staying and had good reviews so thought it was worth a try. We ended up going out quite late and didn't get to the restaurant till about 9.30/10 which was fine. I had a chicken starter and my hubby just had the popadoms both were yummy! My husband doesn't particularly like really spicy food so made a choice on a curry and explained to the waiter not to make it really hot, this was happily done for us. Both our curries were very tasty and no complaints whatsoever. This is a authentic Indian so any Brits visiting won't find typical curries on the menu, there was a Rogan Josh and a Korma but it's not going to be like what we 'usually' have but then again I'm more favourable to authentic dishes then typical curries. Deff worth a visit here!

Half cooked paneer tikkas. Sad that the Tikkas arrived uncooked, felt as if we were eating marinated paneer directly from the marination tray

Food wasn't to good. Service was slow. Bathroom was dirty. They reported to open table we didn't show up. Better Places around will not visit there again. For the area it's lousy.

Delicious Indian food. I personally suggest the lunch special, because it combines a lot of different specialties. I ate here several times, both with friends and family. Would definitely recommend it for most social events.. but don't go there if you're in a rush, because you might have to wait a while to get a table (the place is really small!!).

The food is really good and tasty. My review is 3 only because of the staff attitude. We came in by 5 and we were rushed into placing an order quickly. Actually, I don't think I breathed and the staff asked me if we were ready to order. I was literally asking them to relax! Then we placed our starters order and these lot started asking us to order the mains together. We came early and wanted to eat in some peace but don't think Bhatti is a place to relax and eat! The lady came thrice to check if we had our entre ready and only then gave us the starters. She literally took the order and the starter arrived. The food was really tasty. Can't complain a bit about the food . I think it's a place where you go and eat if you are in a hurry. Not a place for relaxation. So we just finished the starters and we expected the cutlery to be changed. That didn't happen and the mains arrived. We literally ate the last bite (probably still swallowing) when the plates were taken away!! I was chewing my food and couldn't even stop the guy from taking the plate away! It was a place with fast turnaround I guess. Food was good. Ambience isn't bad either. So the 3 is only because of the attitude and the service.

Admittedly, I am not a connoisseur of Indian food but was eager to sample authentic cuisine. The restaurant while small was up to date and clean. Our waiter was less than eager to take our order or answer questions. The food was well prepared but required a separate purchase of plain white rice with our curry, something, for the price, probably should have been included. The food arrived with a separate server who spoke little to no English and had no idea who ordered what. Subsequent, orders for food, drink, and dessert were taken by yet another waiter. At no time did anyone stop by to ask if we were okay or needed anything else. Suffice it to say, service was a term of art at this establishment. I would definitely recommend staying away from the rice pudding dessert - lacked taste and pasty.

It was a busy night and we had to wait, even though we made a reservation before hand (due to rave reviews from online sources). The service was “Your table is ready, what would you like, here’s your bill”. The food was nothing to rave about. Very disappointed with our experience.

I had lunch here the other day and had a wonderful time. We ordered many different kabobs and they were excellent. The staff was friendly and we had a great time visiting friends. We were full on the kabobs so never did the entrees.

Bhatti is always on target with their food. The kebabs are the kind that almost melt in your mouth and they also offer a wide variety of kebabs including vegetarian choices.

Service was good, food was well prepared with good taste and texture Lachaa paratha was cooked well not burnt and not undercooked You barely could move without touching the person on the next table

Drinks 10/10 (we tried mango lassi & salted lassi) Appetisers 10/10 (we tried tandoori platter, glauti kebab, which was melting in the mouth and tandoori chicken) Mains 7/10 (we ordered butter chicken which was average, daal tadka was average too, bharva bhindi was delicious, karhai chicken was yummy as well but we didn't like the malai kofta Overall nice place, would love to go back again but will order different mains.

A colleague of mine came to see the newly renovated space. An absolute feast awaited us with attentive and friendly service from Fatema and Zach. Not only was the food extremely fresh and well prepared - it was all part of a very affordable lunch special. We will totally be coming back soon with the rest of the team.

Had an enjoyable dinner here a few weeks ago as I was passing on my way back to my hotel. I was met on arrival by a fairly unfriendly and rude man who seemed to be annoyed I was only one person. He looked around for a table (many were empty & none had reservation signs on them) and pointed me to one. The waiter that then served me was much more affable and offered me water and a drink from their bar. I ordered the saag panir and steamed rice. Extremely delicious saag panir - as good as I have had in India with a good amount of spice and depth of flavours. While the maitre'd will not win any awards for service, the remainder of the staff were attentive & the food was good.

Was in the neighborhood and just opened for lunch. Had a chicken dish. With coconut and spices. Was good. The atmosphere is nice. They renovated comfy seats. Food was good but they didn't have rice with it

Very good meal at Bhatti recently. We made a reservation with Open Table for 7pm on a Saturday night. We then invited a guest but could not modify on Open Table but they graciously changed it on the phone. We arrived a few minutes early and were promptly seated. It is a small place...intimate with having to wiggle to sit down. The food was very good. Bhatte kebab and Banarsi chaat were well prepared. Naan and onion kulcha were fresh. Goat entree, chicken tikka masala and butter mushroom masala were tasty. All had some bite of spiciness but not overpowering. My only complaint is that they charge for plain steamed rice, which seemed odd Would return but not without a reservation as it is a small restaurant. Service was good considering it was a full house.

Very nicely decorated Indian restaurant with good service, even during the busy lunch hour. Like most Indian restaurants in the neighborhood, they have very reasonably priced lunch specials, but even if you order off the regular menu, you are not going to go broke eating here. The food was very good and the portions were adequate for the price. The spice in the lamb garam masala did not taste like I am used to, but not in a bad way (it’s nice to see a different interpretation now and then). I was only disappointed because they didn’t have samosas on the menu—an Indian meal isn’t complete if I don’t get to eat a samosa.

Just had dinner at Bhatti Grill with a friend, and I was completely underwhelmed with the meal. The chicken tikka masala was ok, not bad, but not particularly good either. The saag paneer was lousy - it looked and tasted exactly like the boxed saag paneer from Trader Joe's. The potato fritter appetizer was also unimpressive, and like the other dishes, highly overpriced. What really irked me was that rice was not provided with the entrees. Come on. Your prices are already on the higher side, and then you're going to nickel and dime customers on rice?? Not ok. Additionally, not one employee at this restaurant was even remotely friendly. Definitely won't be back.

Prior to having lunch here I had not previously enjoyed Indian food. I've been converted after eating the $12.95 lunch special. All very good with attentive and friendly service. Try the mango yogurt drink to cool the spice aftermath.

Food was good overall. Went as a group of 6 without a reservation and were able to be seated. The space is small and cramped, and the bathroom is around a tight corner where you're practically in the kitchen. The service was decent overall, but we ordered only vegetarian food and one dish that was served was chicken, which we only realized when someone bit into it. Not a pleasant experience as vegetarians. They apologized and gave us an extra rice as compensation (not enough in my opinion). Also the fact that they charge for rice, instead of having it included with the curries, is unnecessary. The food was good, but not so much better than any of the other places on the block.

This was one of the yummiest Indian meals I've had in a long time. Really delicious -- the breads were hot, the Malai Kofta was really amazing. The place is small -- we didn't have a reservation, but we were early, so we got a table anyway.

Must try this great buffet lunch, they serve you on the table whatever they have prepared in their kitchen, you can only say - veg on non veg. It is difficult to avoid overeating (and now drive from NYC to Valley Forge PA isn't going to be easy!). I like the concept of serving what they HAVE prepared (rather what you want) and make it great for people to really enjoy! Food is bit heavy, but okay if you like North Indian spicy food.

We had dinner with my friends food was very good with service and smile Attitude of staff was cooperating We enjoyed a lot Daal makahani is yum

Our party of 3 order 3 different dishes, 2 chicken and one chana (chickpeas). All 3 came with the exact same red sauce. My chicken dish was supposedly tandoor-baked before the sauce, it was not. The "butter naan" was good. The onion kulcha was burned with black edges (should have returned it). The papadum was acceptable, although it was also burned. Perhaps the chef was not used to this tandoor, because he was not busy when we arrived. Very mediocre/poor food. Avoid this restaurant.

We went there for dinner and everything was so good. And good was that, that you can bring drinks with you.

One of the best Indian food one can try is Bhatti Indian Grill. Although wait time is little longer, it is worth the wait. You will realize that the place is no way different than Delhi foodie place. You should try chicken dishes for sure.

This Indian restaurant is finely decorated and served delicious Indian food. We ordered vegetarian dishes including paneer and masala but they offered a menu of numerous meat, fish, lamb, goat and chicken choices. Service was superb. Relaxed and enjoyable evening in this fine restaurant.

I took my son to this restaurant for his birthday. We read the great ratings so we decided to try. The place was very crowded even though it was about 9:00 pm. We waited a long time before someone came over to our table. We ordered wine and drinks and had to wait almost 15 minutes before we were served. At the same time they were pushing us to order, which I wanted to wait to have a nice drink before dinner. Everything you order in this restaurant is extra. My son ordered lamb and I ordered a shrimp dish. But to our surprise, rice did not come with the meal it is extra. We had to order a separate portion which was very small and another to be enough for just the two of us! Bread is also extra and a very small serving. The lamb was good, but the portion size was like an appetizer. My shrimp was nice, not over cooked, but only a few shrimp and mainly sauce. We had to ask for our waiter many times before he came over and then another person waited on us that had no idea what we were waiting for, more bread. When it finally arrived it was cold! A big disappointment, I found this place to be over priced and adding to that poor service. It kind of ruined a birthday celebration with their lack of professionalism. I certainly would not recommend this place to anyone there are plenty of other Indian Restaurants that are much better in the area.

This place was very busy at lunch, as are most of the Indian restaurants on this stretch of Lexington Avenue, but my wife and I could see no steam tables through the outside windows, so we tried it, looking for waiter service and better than average food. The manager greeted us with "Meat or vegetable lunch special?" Well, with no menus in sight or offered, my wife chose meat, and I, who eat no meat, chose vegetarian. Servers kept bringing out condiments and sauces to complement dishes to other diners, and it looked promising. An appetizer that looked like a vegetarian chaat came out, as well as chicken wings -- with no comment from the server. They were OK. Our appetizers done, I asked if the wandering manager if they had anything other than water to drink -- he said, "Sure, Kingfisher beer, and wines." I took the beer, and again wished that they had either given us menus, or asked if we wanted anything other than water when we arrived. Our mains came out, and were spread out over the table, along with some lukewarm thick and chewy naan that got ignored after a few bites. I knew what some dishes were, but I had to ask on the others -- my wife also couldn't tell on her two. She had maybe goat, it turned out, and another chicken dish. I got a bland paneer dish heavy with orange gravy that was almost as good as the frozen entrees I heat in my microwave; a very spicy chickpea dish that I liked, a spinach puree that was straight from a can, and a small whole eggplant with a few cuts in it: half was inedible, and the other half was tasteless -- the small piece of fried potato that came with it was tasty. The overly sweet tiny dessert was not worth the calories. Condiments never came -- perhaps you had to order them off the non-existent menu. I wished I had been able to ask for the level of spiciness in dishes, but the truth is that I wished we had either tried another restaurant, or gone to one of our reliably good ones in the area.

We were looking for Indian lunch in curry hill and picked Bhatti. The starters were good - Murgh Malai Kebab and Bhunney Aloo Ke Kulhey. The main dishes were less impressive - Chicken Makhanwala was not good and the tikka masala was average. the naans were quite dry and the service was not pleasant.

Visited Bhatti for dinner one night. Had to wait as we went without a reservation.I was apprehensive at first about the vegetarian choices but was glad to have the food there which was great with right blend of spices. My daughter who likes fish and chicken was very thrilled with the food as well. Subsequently we did order as well for a delivery. A must visit but with reservation.
Excellent Indian food in a small cramped place
The only criticism I have for this place is that it is really cramped and not suitable for special occasion when you need privacy!... Now, lets talk about food - It is excellent !... Indian food scene in NYC is a hit or a miss. There are several pricier eateries that continue to disappoint, but not this place. The food is authentic, tasty and yet reasonable priced (for NYC standards). Service is efficient but could be a bit warmer. We tried at-least 6 different items from the menu and were very satisfied. Will return for sure !
