Fantastic martini!!

By Stj113 |

Just happened to stumble upon this place while roaming around the city, and so glad we did!! Food and atmosphere was good, but their raspberry martinis were AMAZING!! Service was great too!!

Rangers bar

By Torutoper |

This is a NY Rangers bar, which you must visit before a rangers game. The food is quite ok, drinks as well Table service is not... (not friendly, not overlooking, not attentive)

Excellent Pub

By Cathied631 |

Great food, great friendly service, loved it! Had the feel of an authentic Irish Pub. Bartenders were excellent! Will definitely visit again when im in the city

Great Place to Watch Football

By Laurie P |

We were in the city to go to a play as well as see Billy Joel at MSG. That afternoon our beloved Syracuse Football team was playing and we needed a place to watch the game. Our lunch was great, and we had a nice place to see the game. Unfortunately, Syracuse didn't win...but we enjoyed the comfortable surroundings to cheer them on! Highly recommend this Irish Sports Pub!

great pub, staff wonderfull ! !

By ColetteK K |

cool pub, food is real good, very helpfull staff, I had a wee issue with insurance and the staff were great for faxing all my documents, couldn't have asked for better assistance, very much a NY Rangers pub, pub was packed before the game, great crack too

Good black & tans but overall forgettable.

By NCsoprano |

Grabbed lunch here based on strong Trip Advisor reviews. Should have been warned by the lack of crowd at the height of lunch hour. Boring food. Guys ordered black & tans which they said were quite good. Had to flag down waitresses to get drink refills. Everything tasted reconstituted or prepackaged. Would not recommend.

Good food, but service is lacking

By Katelyn S |

We went to the Blarney Stone in the middle of the afternoon for a late lunch. Most people were at the bar and very few tables full because it was in the middle of the afternoon so I expected our waitress to be more attentive. The food is decent bar food and it's a comfortable atmosphere. My only complaint is that our waitress didn't remember she works for tips and if our drinks are empty for a while and you are just standing at the bar talking to your co-workers and making your own iced coffee that might upset your customers.

Great sports pub/ great food!!

By Ian C |

5th time back in New York and we always come to this bar. Ashamed to say we only had as drink here about 2/3 times as we use it mainly for food. Nice size portions and good is genuinely Irish as stated on menu unlike some other Irish bars in NY. Never had a complaint about the place in regards to food and always get to watch a game whatever time of day when eating breakfast or dinner. If we ever come back to NY, there's no question of us coming back!

Awesome!

By Chloe B |

Stayed in a hotel opposite, asked the staff for a good bar and this was recommended, atmosphere was awesome, the food to die for and the drinks cheap! The staff were very friendly and got on great with the locals. A great pub to sit and watch sports with plenty of screens showing a selection of local sports.

Good corned beef & cabbage

By FLYBOYFREDDY |

my first time to NYC, lots of Irish Pubs near our Hotel, Blarney's was the closest with corned beef & cabbage on their menue. Very good dinner, quaint pub. Good beer too...!!

Welcome lads...

By Mister M |

Used to be the Blarney Rock which I frequented many times and miss very much. So glad to see they opened up with virtually the same staff. Here's to more shenanigans and craic!

A welcoming friendly bar with great food

By Mark B |

Just opposite the hotel Pennsylvania, the staff are very friendly and welcoming, it has a great atmosphere with a good choice of food and drink. We ended up have breakfast and dinner there most days during our stay. Looking forward to a return visit hopefully next year. Thanks for making all feel so welcome.

Great for a meal and bar atmosphere before or after MSG events.

By nohitgolf |

Good bar but can get crowded after sporting events at MSG. Food is Pub style food but very good. Parking is a major problem. Take mass transport especially if attending an event at MSG.

Solid food, friendly atmosphere, best staff ever!

By WandaLaRue |

While most people will hang here when there's a local sporting event, I like to stop in when it's an off time and day, their staff is friendly, helpful and quick. They have great solid food, and it's the epitome of a classic don't miss it NY Pub!!!

Great atmosphere & staff

By holmakerR |

I loved this pub, it is located next to two other Irish Bars but Blarney Rock is by far the best one for atmosphere. The staff are great, efficient and friendly & know how to look after their customers.

Old school Irish bar that oozes class

By jackN19 |

Visited New York in the summer and was so pleased to stumble upon this bar. On my first day I ordered an Irish breakfast and, as someone who has eaten this meal many times in London and Ireland, couldn't believe how good it was. Fresh, well cooked and tasty. Even the Kerrygold Irish butter made the toast luxurious. Indeed, such was my delight with the food, I decided to eat here each day for the rest of my holiday, and, tellingly, never found myself disappointed. The bar itself is quaint and radiates a soul. The staff made us feel very welcome and, unlike other bars in the city, weren't too overpowering or pressurising. Also, the owner being present and, engaging in the occasional conversation with the customers, added to the traditional feel to the place. In a huge city like New York, which is in the process of modernisation and gentrification, this is truly a little olden and golden nugget.

Irish Pub

By Empress1972 |

This pub was located near our bus pick up location therefore reason for choosing. The pub bar was full and atmosphere seemed very friendly. We sat in back for dinner with teenage daughters. My daughter got the mozza sticks which she did not care for at all, and it came with a spaghetti type sauce. The sweet potato fries were good. The garden salad was very chunky and just okay. Nothing extraordinary, but staff friendly, and good prices.

Room at the Pub

By Katherine L |

After trying to get into 2 alternate restaurant that had long wait times we walked into the Blarney, were seated and ordered up our meals in no time. The fish and Chips were "delish" and the Shepherds pie was a real big seller as it was as good as it looked. Always room for a Guiness to go w/the meal as well.

pint of Guinness

By leeallen1972 |

nice place , good pint , nice people . what more could you ask for . perfect place to chill or start a night out. prices good too.

Loud and messy

By Peter R |

Not a good experience. Started upstairs and was so loud I could not have a conversation the back corner table. The place was dirty. Moved downstairs and it was quiet but still very dingy. Would not ever eat here. Had one drink and moved on.

Good service, too noisy for conversation.

By SJG444 |

Average bar, average drinks. Lively atmosphere and pleasant service but background music at a high level left us shouting at each other rather than talking.

My favorite pub

By Kristin S |

Finally writing a review after spending way too much of my life at Blarney Rock. I stumbled upon Blarney a while back on my way home from Penn Station and it has become a home away from home for me. The staff at Blarney really makes it an amazing place to be. The bartenders (Shane, Fergie, Connor, James..and I know I am forgetting someone :-\ ) are some of the friendliest in the city. It's especially wonderful on a beautiful afternoon when they have the rooftop open. It's defintiely a perfect place to stop in before a game or show at MSG, or when you are through Penn Station. I had my birthday here last Friday and once again, they made it a wonderful experience. I can't recommend it highly enough. I've been to Irish pubs all over the world, but through it all, Blarney Rock is one of the best, and the one that I will always be happy to come home to.

NYC Birthday Trip

By Jeff Scott |

Extremely friendly bartenders at Blarney Rock Pub...across street from Hotel Pennsylvania...good food and super service...Try the sweet potato fries

Great bar!

By Mrs Smithoir |

We visit friends in New York, and always have to call in to see the guys at the Blarney Rock. We've been calling in here from England for 16 years! Great prices for Beers, and bar snacks. It's always packed before an event over the road at Madison Square Gardens, but if you can find a quieter time grab a stool at the bar and chat with Timmy or Ray. Don't expect Cocktails but they do serve a large!!! G&T. :-)

No fuss, no frills, just a lovely welcome

By DeetheDub |

Ideally situated for MSG, Macys etc. 3 Irish bars in a row and THIS was the more spacious keeping Covid in mind. Lovely clean low key pub (spotless toilet at all hours), a lovely 'neighbourhood' feel, not pretentious, or overly packed and carries full range of regular beers too. Big Bonus, if like me, you are not fond of craft beer. Barmen on top of their game, all Irish (we'll let Mike away with the generation gap) no waiting and superb NY pricings. Perfect for unwinding after pounding the streets of NY. They do PEAR Vodka cocktails if you're in the mood...could catch on!!

Great local spot to have lunch and a beverage 8-)

By Ultramax12 |

The Blarney Rock Pub is a great place to stop and have a couple of beers and a bite to eat. Friendly local crowd that is a mix of blue and white collar workers. Bartenders are great, Mike & Ray make you feel at home. I normally duck in here when I'm waiting for my train out of Penn Station.

Girls Lunch

By Nan5049 |

We found this pub right near Penn Station arriving hungry from our train ride. We enjoyed our drinks, fresh salads, sandwiches, and tasty sides at this cozy, friendly city location. Service was good for our mid-day outing, and gave us a good launching spot for touring.

Awesome bar

By LEZMAN |

A nice spot for a beer or three. Generous and friendly staff with a relaxed atmosphere. We only had a snack so can't rate the food but the pub was great. Highly recommended for a quite ale or two and maybe lunch or dinner.

Should be good if...

By Paloma_Canil_Lapinus |

My first thought was What a nice place for a beer! Beer was actually good and so was the burger and the atmosphere but we had a very rude waitress!! she brought the bill and wanted us to pay before we even finished eating! I tried to pay with my credit card but she said it didnt work so i paid cash, funny thing is that at the card machine it said 43usd but she charged 58 usd in cash!! She just chose whatever amount she wanted as tip, we really felt cheated!! I told the whole story to the owner/manager who just answered "Thanks" I used to own a restaurant myself and i would never ever allow my waiters to act like that!

Give it a miss

By banjybob |

This place used to serve really good food but it has really gone downhill . Went in for a meal ordered beer battered Atlantic cod and chips supposedly fresh both were frozen . Definitely not fresh half of menu not available certainly not worth the money they charged . Staff need customer service skills because they have none ! Should just serve alcohol.

great place for respite from the razy

By steve w |

one one end of the bar... best place in nyc....the other end with this bartender Mark ..nasty...leave now and come back later...or go next door for a bit...really...or sit at a table...everyone else is really cool

Mc Gregor fight night

By linda s |

A fellow passenger on my flight recommended the blarney rock to me and low and behold we came upon it on fight night! We decided to give it a try and we were so glad we did, we couldn't fault the food or service, it's was a major busy night for the staff but they looked after us fantastic. Thanks a lot guys we had a great night. We will be back on our next visit to NYC

Nice Place to Visit

By JPP58 |

The Blarney Rock Pub serves as a pub for Syracuse fans when in town for sporting events. They opened early on a Sunday morning prior to a noon basketball game. We arrived at 10AM and ordered breakfast - an omelet for my wife and some eggs and sausage for me. The omelet and eggs were almost hot, the hashbrowns were almost cold, and the sausage had been around for a couple of days. We did enjoy the atmosphere, however, and by 11:15 the place was hopping with SU fans. We'll come back to tip a few, but probably not to eat breakfast.

Pub + TV + Good food = Fun

By ritch32 |

Stopped in for a bite and watch some football. Cheese steak and salad both good. Waitress was attentive. Had nice selection of beers. The place could have used a good cleaning.

The End of an Era

By Ant92874 |

Here's to you lads...sorry to see you go. Tried to stop by the other day only to see the place boarded up.

No Smithwicks but otherwise a fun bar

By BethandJeff |

Nice bar, staff very friendly and accommodating. Disappointed they didn't have Smithwicks (apparently their customer base doesn't like it) So good bar, good people - American (not Irish) beer

Deep freeze fish and chips

By Gizmo-Timmy |

After our flight and checking in at the hotel we were hungry and Blarney was just around the corner. As I am crazy of fish and chips it was an easy choice on the menu. How could I go wrong with this? When the plate arrived I already saw the perfect shaped wedges of fish, definitely not fresh and indeed, frozen stuff. How can you serve as being an Irish pub frozen fish? The beer selection was o.k. and the waitress friendly so as being our first night I didn't bother complaining but my advise, don't order fish and chips.

I adore the Blarney Rock

By Laurel B |

Out of a jillion bars in New York City, this is my favorite. Casual, warm, welcoming, great food and staff...the only place to be on Rangers game nights. Lots of bars in the neighborhood, but if you want a true NY experience, not fancy but fun as hell...check out the roof bar..open air and quieter than downstairs. Irish breakfast all day. You'll make friends here just by showing up.

Great stop for a pint!

By mknancy |

Great stop for a pint on our walk from Penn Station to Radio City. The staff was helpful and friendly. We even stopped back after the show during Happy Hour. Very friendly place! Thanks for making us feel welcome in NY!

best in NY

By shay1070 |

had a brief trip to the States in October 2012.. and was old to visit this Irish pub.. the reccomendation was on the button ...really a brilliant place for great food and drinks , we were a group of 'foodies' and we were well chuffed a real find. i gets the best from us.. Ambiance.. Drinks.... Foodas for the staff .. no faults whatsoever... i cannot say any better.. .OH yea , the place was humming..

OK - a bit too American rock - but we were in USA :-)

By Thomo61 |

Food OK - would have preferred some UK rock as well as the American kind. But we still enjoyed it. Ribs were great! The people we shared a table with said that the breakfast was very good - I think they may have been there all day! To be honest it sort of says Irish bar, but think its definitely more USA than Irish. However, some great beers

Awesome pub to catch NFL games, great drink, food and friendly service

By LMcGhee |

My sister and I popped into the pub to have some food, drink & catch an NFL game....staff so friendly, food was amazing we both had the chicken and bacon wrap with fries - big portions. We had a few drinks a bit ike rocket fuel very good value for money. Also my mum and stepdad got engaged in this bar 4 years ago so was quite nice to see where they got engaged

good food and drink but need improved customer service skills

By FireoneFighterRescue |

As i came on saint pattys, place is great and no problem, went out to eat with family and friends and had one or 2 light beer beverages, as checked this place out, a older gentlemen advised go easy when go in there and said ok no problem at all, we looked around and see how it was and went upstairs and had a budlight but then someone got sick which wasnt me, came down stairs afterwards use bathroom since upstairs big line. was denied to go upstairs due to floor wet and like not fall but saw others go up, i asked another staff, said was told due to me had too much drink but from what i recall i only had 2 previously from before but when came here i only had budlight which i did not finish which i was here for no longer than 20-30 min. wish was explained at first in all honesty and improved customer service part but atleast had good times. good for food here but drink next door maybe. got good atmosphere and food and services but could use a bit improvement but love it.

A nice surprise for NY

By NR |

Met friends from Belfast for lunch and conversation. The menu was a good selection of Irish and American food. We had Irish. They had American. The food was tasty and looked appetizing. The service was very good. The atmosphere was pub like. Busy, but not overly noisy. For someone who thinks most NY restaurants are over priced with poor food and service a little worse than I had in the army, this was a nice surprise.

Good Place Before or After MSG

By susan c |

Nice Irish Pub with good food (and beer) offerings located near Madison Square Garden. We arrived after a concert, and the place was packed. Despite that, we squeezed into a spot at the bar and service was quick and efficient. Nice place, good crowd. Next time, we will be there for dinner. Lots of little nooks scattered around that would give you a great dinner spot.

Disappointed in Fish and Chips, Loved the Bangers and Mash, expensive beer

By Frank B |

Pub was within easy walking distance of hotel and I wanted to have a local NYC experience. Rangers were at the Garden and the bar area was filled wall to wall but the restaurant area was open. My wife had the fish and chips, the perfectly shaped cod looked like it came out of a frozen food package. However, the bangers and mash were spot on, great mashed potatoes and terrific brown gravy, not too thick, with grilled onions. I am used to larger bangers, these were more the size of breakfast sausage but flavorful. I know that this is NYC but $11.00 a pint for Sam Adams and Boston Lager is exorbitant. Highlight of the night was the wonderful Irish lass who served us.

Hidden Ripoff

By DavyboyLondon |

Ordered sandwich and drinks ( Guiness) my partner ordered a grilled cheese and tomato on rye bread but she got the sandwich on white but did not complain,I had the pastrami sandwich but be warned the cheese is catering square stuff not very nice ie not real was expecting real cheese, therefore very bland with the cheap crisps and it mentions all sandwiches served with pickles all we got was a small gherkin cut in half call that a pickles I don't think so my pastrami sandwich was very good and filling. But the big shock was the Bill 41 Dollars outrageous when I questioned the bill I was told the tax which is usual plus a service charge for some one to put a plate on the table the actual was 32 dollars .9 Dollars for this .i was not aware of this service charge not mentioned on menu if we come to New York again this is one place we would walk pass thanksgiving day or not .

Perfect spot!

By Angie3258x |

This neighborhood pub is the perfect place to hang out before or after events at MSG. I've done it many many times and it's been great experience every single time. Friendly staff and reasonable prices- not to mention the new awesome roof top! All you NYC people know how hard it is to find decent roof top spots :)

Weeks Holiday

By neilwatson54 |

Went in to warm up as it was seriously cold that day as we couldn’t get into Macy’s as after the 92 Parade didn’t open till after 5pm We weren’t hungry but we did enjoy a couple of pints of tasty Guinness @ $8 a pint.

Food and Drink was a shambles

By John F |

My wife and i went here on our last night in NYC before a concert in MSG. We were seated and ordered a drink each. The Guinness was flat and tasted very stale. I would imagine the beer lines to the barrel have not been cleaned in a very long time. We ordered food and what came out was not even related to food. My wife ordered the turkey with chips and mash potato. The meat was heaped on the plate and looked like it was pulled off the bone and just thrown on. The full meal had clearly been heated in a microwave and tasted horrible. I ordered the most tasteless burger i have ever eaten. the bun was hard and the meat very dry, AVOID AVOID AVOID.

A great hang out!

By Mario G |

We stopped in to the Blarney Rock after an day of museums and sightseeing in NYC. Just wanted a beer and and a place to sit for a few minutes. Ended up having a great dinner, watched the Kentucky Derby, and enjoyed some great company. The bartender, Conner is actually from Ireland and is a great host. The guests are a lot of fun as well. Met a regular named Ricardo who has been going there for over 40 years. Try the Fish and Chips and the Reuben Sandwich! I had several draft black and tans as well. I would definitely go back and take friends!

Not bad for a quick bite.

By Missnmikea |

Stopped by when we were bar hopping around the city. The roof top bar was not open when we got there about 2. The bar has character and we had the nachos. Par on the nachos but a good place for a pint

NYR - pregame drinks

By Nina Zee |

This place is loud, filled with Rangers fans as well as sports memorabilia everywhere. There are tvs throughout the bar and pool tables in the back. The bartender is friendly and can deal with groups small and large, sober and a bit tipsy. This is a great place to hang with Rangers fans to get hyped up prior to a game!

Cool little dive bar

By theja1 |

Situated right next door to Stout, a larger nice bar, BRP holds the market on lower end dining and beers. Lots of tv's to watch and the place gets full quickly around 5pm. Food was very average bar fare, but the service is awesome. Even with the place full, I always got my drinks quickly and never had to look for a server.

Fantastic Little Gem

By Marita D |

On a short trip to NYC and got a little thirsty. Came across this little gem within throwing distance of MSG. We just assumed, based on its location, that they would have over-priced, flat drink but it was the complete opposite. Very reasonably priced and taste was spot on. Bar staff were fantastic from Mayo Mike and Timmy from Tipp and James - couldn't have stumbled across a better spot. A few pubs around advertising as "Irish pubs" but this is the real deal and the food is great too. If you're in the area and looking for a good pint, within walking distance of everything and not overly-inflated prices (even on game nights) well then this is the place. WELL WORTH THE VISIT.

Friendly pub

By Tina O |

We were there the night of a rangers match in Madison Sq Gardens and the atmosphere was great, Staff were very friendly and some if not all were Irish so very chatty!

Most friendliest pub

By megangriffin27 |

Visited New York for a week at the end of March. On our first 2 days there we tried 4 places to eat 2dinner 2 afternoon snacks. Nothing was standing out to us on the 3rd morning we came across this pub for breakfast & we never went anywhere else! For the remainder of our trip we came here for weather it be breakfast/lunch/dinner or just to relax after a day of exploring with a nice cold drink. The place was so clean & the staff were so friendly to speak to! Deff will be back in when we make our next trip to NY

Great Breakfast!

By David H |

Stopped for the irish breakfast and tall Guinness. Perfect way to start the day! Make some time and stop on by.

The best there is for an Irish breakfast

By Annasligo |

Whilst staying across the road in a hotel we decided to eat here for the 5 days, the Irish breakfast was better than anyone i ate at home. Fab food, great service and staff with great personalities, something that lacks in several other pubs we visited. Will definitely go there again, highly recommend it

Disgusted

By blogger121 |

Arrived in here on our last night in New York and was met by what I could only describe as a drunk which was poorly dressed saying he was the bouncer asking me for I.d!!!I wasn’t going to show my id to anyone who couldn’t prove they actually worked there with no badge or anything!! He told myself and my girlfriend to get the f*#k out!!! I was Irish and 32!!what a joke of a place!!

Classic NYC/Irish Pub

By forkauaiguy |

Saw this place after getting off bus from DC (DC2NY). Went back for some Guinness & chill while wife shopped. Place was filled with locals having a good time, all knew the bartender, and he kept my beer topped off. Wife could have shopped longer! Dang

Welcoming and friendly

By EJB14 |

Went here for drinks most nights and really enjoyed it. There was always a good crowd around and the bar man remembered our order every night! We were staying in Hotel Penn (right across the road) so it was very convenient!

Good beer and a Shepherd's Pie

By Grey_Dude |

Wish that it had a bigger beer selection. something not owned by InBev would be good. but the crowd was good, sports bar, decent food. I had the Shepherd's Pie would rate it better than average.

Fun bar scene; good food, too.

By WadeFromOklahoma |

I visited this pub a couple of times during our stay to grab a Guiness at the bar. It does have a restaurant area that my family (which includes my 15 year old daughter), so we popped in one evening. Delicious food, at a very good price. My wife and I both had an Irish breakfast; here, your eggs, black pudding, bangers, rasher, and grilled tomato are served with french fries...if that's traditional, I don't know, but the fries were tasty. White toast was served alongside. My mom and daughter each had a plate of fried mozzarella sticks. I'm sure they're of the frozen variety, but they were good. Yes, I'd return if I'm in the area!

Great time! Ask for Conor

By iluvadventure |

I was traveling on business staying at Hotel Penn and walked across the street to stumble upon this gem. It was no wonder the house was packed when I walked in. There was one open table and I ordered the bangers and mash. The service was wonderful, I had a sweet irish waitress who took great care of me. There were eight to ten large TVs with all kinds of sports on each from many countries. Music is played from a jukebox, so customers choose all the music being played. Prices were very cheap for NYC and the drinks were strong. The food was exceptional! Perfect location near Madison Square Garden, Penn Station, and Herald Square. I later moved to the bar where a hilarious Irish bartender named Conor kept us laughing for hours. Definitely ask for him and check this place out.

Great location, rooftop bar

By JOHNJR44 |

Great location, walking distance from Penn Station and MSG. Great rooftop bar. Got there at happy hour. Lots of activity but the staff was still attentive to all of the guests.

Great Pub

By Rolle M |

Went to this lively pub a few times when I stayed in the area, decent pub food, I had the burger, a very helpful and sweet lady of the staff gave me good advise about the subway when I told her I was going to Brooklyn to see a hockey game, she also let me charge my cellphone at the establishment. Good food, nice staff and various kinds of good beer! Great place!

Hot wing heaven

By Dublin doll |

food is great in this little place. Staff were really friendly and welcoming and it is directly opposite the hotel

The food was below average, the service surley...

By travelfanaticsunltd |

After a long day exploring Manhattan, our family stopped here for a quick pub grub dinner. The atmosphere was tired, the waitress acted like she had to be there. We ordered fish and chips with a jalapeno popper starter. The fish was obviously packaged frozen fillets. One was not fully cooked. Yes, it was primarily an Irish bar, but the food was not even good pub grub.

Now called The Celtic Rail

By sheilaswheels12 |

We spent a few nights of our trip here and had a really great time. The staff are very welcoming, the food is great and the atmosphere was fabulous. A must if you’re in New York.

Hidden gem

By Rosscompany85 |

Having stayed at the Pennsylvania Hotel 3 our of my 5 times to New York, this was always the first stop I would make! It's a great little Irish pub and offers a decent selection of beers as always has some sort of sport on the many TVs. It's averagely priced and has a great little atmosphere. Also sells food.

Great find in a small place.

By Deb M |

Wanted to stay close to Penn Station, so we tried this place and we were so glad we did. The service was friendly and fast. Our waitress was very attentive. The food was delicious!

Billy Joel

By nickmag456 |

Was in for the Billy Joel concert, wonderful experience... waitstaff was very attentive... had the Irish burger... was as good as any... would highly recommend

Great value, fun times

By MegglesC12 |

When we walked in we honestly thought we were in a male gay bar...turns out the construction crews go there for drinks after work. Phew! (Joking). Anyways we went to the upstairs part which has an open deck...very nice! The bartender was great. Young guy from Ireland who had us in stitches when talking to him. We had a few drinks, had the boneless buffalo chicken for a snack (spicy!!) and were on our way. The price was cheap, the food was good, drinks were cold, and the server was entertaining...what more could you ask for? Definitely stop in if you have the chance!

Delicious Lunch: Food, Beer, Service!

By Stuart G |

We love pubs; they're fun! We went into Blarney Rock for lunch today. The sign above the door says 137 Irish Pub Way, a play on the actual address of 137 West 33rd Street. We sat near the back (the front is the bar). I ordered Fish and Chips; she had the 1/2 Pastrami sandwich and cup of New England Clam Chowder. The food was really tasy, and the service was amazing. Minor suggestions: 1. Have another service for lunch at noon (she was RUNNING) 2. He clam chowder was a little runny All that aside, it was a very enjoyable meal and experience at Blarney Rock Pub. I was gladly return and have another great meal. You should give it a try.

Safe keeping for husband, while Madonna played at the garden

By Rizlaod |

Don't normally add comments of any description, but after visiting the big apple a number of times this is always our favourite watering hole....... Always greeted with a friendly smile and good conversation, irrespective on how busy the place is. A big thank you for another memorable trip to Ray and the team (especially that girl from Monaghan.....sorry never caught her name) but she was a real gem. From the Irish couple in Bristol.

Irish breakfast

By terrim1216 |

My husband and I wanted an Irish breakfast and decided to try Blarney Rock Pub because they served breakfast all day and it was already near lunch time. My husband is from Ireland, so he knows a good Irish breakfast and this was perfect. The Irish bacon (my favorite part) and the black and white pudding were yummy. If you want a good Irish breakfast, this is the place. They also show sports on the many tvs and have a rooftop bar.

Went to watch the rangers

By Liam Woodward |

Found this little gem by mistake and literally moved in. I went to watch the rangers for 10 days. And went here every day. Mikey behind the bar was ace. Met loads of fantastic guys during there lunch break. Looking forward to going back in February.

Love this place

By Tom P |

I've been coming here for about 30 years, and I am never disappointed. Great location near the Garden and Penn Station. Staff and clients friendly. Good food. Good drink. Good time. Can't wait to come back.

a bit of irish

By samwilky |

noisy but friendly. typical american irish bar, full of tv screens showing different sports. not bad food either.

Great Atmosphere

By Joseph C |

Been there several times. Bartender, Chip is great at his job and friendly. Location is great especially being near Madison Square Garden and Penn Station. Always make it a point to get Irish drinks before leaving in Amtrak.

A++++++++++ BLARNEY ROCK PUB

By BABYCHUCKS |

Was over in march and had a great time in blarney rock pub it was packed most nights as it was basketball season and there was plenty of craic laughter singing and also the new rooftop opened that weekend so it was great altogether. The staff were great craic as always and they always look after you especially Tim, Marcella, John and conor & fergal. Hope to be back again soon.

Watch what you are charged.

By WillG1519 |

I've been there several times, under different names. I usually stop in for a beer or two before heading to Penn Station to head home. On 12 June 24, we stopped in for a beer. There was a sidewalk sign advertising Miller Lite draft $7.00. When we entered I asked my wife to please order me a Miller Lite, and I headed to the mens room. When I returned, our beer was served and change was on the bar. I was charged $9.00 per beer, not the advertised $7.00. The bartender was busy at the other end of the bar talking to who appeared to be a regular customer. I didn't bother him. We finished our beer (would have stayed for a second) and left. I don't cause waves... I just will NEVER spend another dollar in the place. So, WATCH WHAT YOU'RE CHARGED!!!!

Nice Irish Pub

By Brett03 |

We had a large group, and they accommodated us the night before St. Patrick's Day. We enjoyed having the large space upstairs by ourselves practically. Now the next day, it was incredibly crowded for the holiday. But the food was decent bar food.

Colorful Place to Grab a Drink and a Bite to Eat

By jim f |

One of 3 Irish bars in a row. It is not as up scale as the other two but a friendly place, great bartender, great music and good food. Seemed more of a local place and was fun to people watch. We had a construction work on one side of us and a wall street banker on the other side of us at the bar. You can eat in the back or upstairs depending on the time of day and how busy it is.

Great Atmosphere!

By MGW_11 |

Had lunch here, waitress was warm and friendly, food was good, nice beer selection. Much more authentic than the 2 fancy "Irish" pubs next door. Definitely give it a try!

OK food and atmosphere

By Brendan S |

Went to the Blarney Rock Pub before our first Knicks game and was a little disappointed considering the reviews. It's close to Madison Square Garden which is why we chose it and I guess one of the main draw cards. Ordered two burgers and the fish and chips for the group and felt slightly aggrieved by the quality and quantity. If you're after a quick meal before heading to MSG then I would say it's worth a visit and I hope you have better luck. Be forewarned that they automatically charge a service charge to the bill, regardless of how good the service is. This really threw us as it's the only place I've ever been to in America that has done this.

Gem of a place.

By reeves1122016 |

Situated by Macy's and very close to MSG makes it ideal. Great menu great food , awesome choice of drinksbrilliant staff, ideal craic.

Gem of a place to be sure!

By MrsWalton |

This little haven was just across the street from our hotel and was a welcomed gem of a place for the duration of our stay! The staff are amazing and so friendly! Food was great and the beers were a welcomed treat after a days sightseeing - would cone back to the Big Apple just to visit here!!! Cannot recommend highly enough👍🏻

Good Ol Irish Pub

By mom23_10 |

Classic Irish Pub right down the road from Madison Square Garden. Lots of beers to choose from and a rooftop too.

Great sports bar

By Miles G |

Brilliant to get out of the sun and have a cold beer!! With the added benefit of great air con and plenty of sports screens and very quick wifi

Lively, friendly, upbeat and fun bar.

By james537 |

Awesome bar on the doorstep of Madison Sq Garden. Went there before the recent U2 concert. Atmosphere was amazing. Everyone was very friendly. Went back after the concert to continue the party. It went on until 3 am. It seemed the only people from the Garden who weren't there, were Bono and the boys. Maybe next time.

Nice little midtown bar

By ASJ |

This is a nice little bar in Midtown Manhattan. I went there a couple of times as part of a business party and enjoyed the visit both times. I'd go back for regular visits if I return to NYC.

Great Pub

By Pam M |

Found the Blarney Rock whilst exploring New York and later recommended the Pub by a friend back in UK. Visited 3 times during our stay in NYC. Great bar staff, atmosphere, beer and gorgeous buffalo wings:-)

Miserable

By Karen B |

Not the most happiest of staff or bar feelings I have ever been in. Certainly won't go in again. The bar tender really could not be bothered with serving us we were more like a nuisance to his day! We ended up having one drink and leaving.

Good pub, Good food

By Kevin M |

Good pub, Friendly, Casual, lively atmosphere. Good food. Of all the bars in NYC this is one of the best for not feeling pretentious.

An Irish oasis! We loved it!!!

By kjchaos45 |

So good we went 2 days in a row!! Hands down the best Reuben I've ever had! My son says the same for his burger! The staff was incredible! They were extremely helpful with my daughters food allergy, James and Paula especially! The atmosphere so friendly, like instant friends!

Great atmosphere

By Owls 17 |

Good food, good beer, friendly service, lots of sports screens (with the staff happy to change channels - assuming a collective decision can be reached!). I have been visiting the bar when in the City on and off for about 20 years - and it definitely has the feel and atmosphere in the old NY Irish bar that is increasingly hard to find.

Great Sports Bar with friendly staff

By Mark A |

Great fairly typical Irish a Sports Bar with very friendly staff which gets very busy with a great atmosphere when there is a sports event on at "the Garden"

Good friendly pub

By mstrawson |

On our first visit to NY, had heard good things about his place. Popped in out of the cold for a drink. Two pints of bud light and a sauvignon blanc for $18. Really good atmosphere and friendly staff. Highly recommend.

Homeless American Veterns not welcome even when buying food! Shame on them calling themselves an Irish bar!!!

By Sharon Howell |

Well 1. The Guinness is like water so if you are Irish like me..then avoid. 2. We tried to buy a homeless guy a meal and a drink..he was watching American football through the bar window, we spoke to him an he was a Vietnam veteran with sharpnel still in his back, his family were killed by a drink driver. He was clean, tidy and sober, we brought him inside to get warm and have some food and drink, but the barman threw him out. I just wish we had not spent our money and tip in this bar, we took him 2 bars up from this one and no problem. The Irish don't treat people like scrum so this is no Irish bar.. please do not support a bar that treats their people who fought for them as trash and if you arex Irish take your money elsewhere.. the alcohol is like water and the welcome far from Irish!!! They've never even been to Ireland!!!!

great staff drank there every night

By lorraine c |

went to blarney rock to quench our thirst the first day there and finished up having food too the staff are so nice and make you feel so welcome didnt realise there was an upstairs til the next day so from then went upstairs shayne the bar man is a really friendly guy gave us some great tips foods to try in new york don,t no how he new we were there cause it was always busy but by the time we had made our way to the bar our drinks were set up at a bar stool waiting for us. apparently in summer the roof comes off and they have bands playing live. went every night for our night cap. lovely staff and they work really hard and very friendly thankyou shane hope you had a great st patricks day wish we could have stayed for it. maybe next year we will

Good atmosphere

By guvnaoz |

Whilst going from pub to pub on a pub crawl, we came across this American Irish pub. The way this place is decked out is pretty amazing. The staff where all helpful and friendly. At this point of our trip, we had the biggest pizza I’ve ever seen, apart from in the movies Worth a visit.

A little IRiSH stop

By ☆WANDERLUST in Me☆ |

This was our 1st meal in NYC since it was clise to our hotel. It was a busy little bar with great service, fun decor, tvs for sports, and hot food! We shared a ceaser salad and shepards pie which was very good.

Go there before a concert

By HockeyTravel67 |

Good food. An awesome place to go before a concert at MSG. They play the music to get you psyched even more. Very friendly staff, not at all pushy.

Friendly Irish staff

By missprisskk |

Stopped in because it was convenient to Penn Station before catching a train and we enjoy Irish pubs. Super friendly Irish bartender and waitress. Loved hearing them talk! Good drinks made by knowledgeable bartender. From what I remember of it the menu we got was mostly standard bar fare but it was after 10pm on a weeknight so that was probably just the late night bar menu. They were playing 80s and 90s hits music at first but after our first drink the bartender asked what type of music we'd like to hear and promptly changed it to traditional Irish music when we requested it. Seems like a nice neighborhood bar and was an enjoyable place for a snack and a couple of drinks to end the evening.

Laid back and Irreverent in a good way

By PiperJDrake |

Construction on the street and building front added a few extra minutes to finding this pub. It's laid back and casual with a steady stream of regulars coming and going through the mid morning and lunch time. Wait staff is friendly and chill. Baked beans and toast was simple and perfect for this traveler's travel churned stomach. Mimosa was okay but not amazing. It's an unusual spot to do a few hours of work but the WiFi is strong and the atmosphere is lively. Some of the staff might walk back and forth dropping the odd curse or two as they deal with their day. I found it fun. The shepherds pie for lunch is savory comfort food. Again, not blow your mind delicious but rather tasty in a steady "this is exactly what I needed, not overly fancy" kind of way.

Husband needed a place to watch the Man Utd game !!!

By Rednu74 |

So my dear hubba needed a good spot to watch Man U .. I'm not into football but pleased to say that I had a pleasant afternoon despite this :) The blarney rock is a laid back Irish pub very close to Macy's ( so a great place to leave the partners when shopping ) We enjoyed a few pints of Guinness and at at the bar , I people watched and browsed the Internet on my phone whilst the game was on . Chatted a little with the barman who was friendly in that New York way , chatty but to the point. We had a large breakfast elsewhere earlier but after a few drinks had the nachos , which were tasty and plentiful for a good price snack . There is a roof terrace restaurant but u didn't get a look at that , would go back to try though as great location and good prices ( and great Guinness )

Fast Friendly service

By Tony R |

Stopped in before the Bruce Concert, Got there before 5pm we got a table right away ordered Burgers and beer. Beer ICE COLD. Burger was a BIG burger came with fries and only 11 bucks or so. Not the best burger i ever had but no compliments either. We got our food with 15 minutes which I thought was good for how crowded it was getting. By 6 Pm standing room only but they opened the upstairs. so after we ate we went up stairs to free up our table. Funny thing is downstairs the Beer was 6 bucks upstairs $5.50 - I figure maybe they charge 50 cents extra if you have waitress service. Not a big deal just odd. Nice Fast Service Close to MSG I will be back.

Good place to have a break from shopping

By TSN63 |

We took a break from the shopping and had a beer. The staf was helpful and friendly. We would go there again.

The Real McCoy!

By worldtravelier |

Had a small reunion with friends. The Pub was central to us all. As you walk in you will first notice the large bar with various TV's with European sports on. You feel as if you are in Ireland. A good thing. In the back are a few tables. The waitress was indeed Irish. I asked. In fact, I am going to Ireland in July and ask for sightseeing advice. Service was excellent, food was excellent. It was a very good choice.

great pub

By mythen |

Pre Game beer

By Andy123101 |

Nice bar with a good atmosphere, fills up when there is an event at MSG or when the local teams are on TV. Pretty much all you would expect when visiting an Irish bar.

Irish food at its best

By MrJayBee |

I had a great time at Blarney Rock. Was in search for some good food after the Macy's Day Parade, and happened to stumble upon Blarney Rock. That was the best decision of the weekend! They have some great food with healthy portions. Great atmosphere!

Eat, watch sport and relax.

By KASHMAC |

If you want somewhere to have a reasonable meal while you are relaxing with friends or watching sport then this is the place for you. My husband enjoys the odd glass of Guinness as do our friends, so when we saw the Irish bar sign we thought " why not" The menu was ok and the food was the same. We had an enjoyable evening relaxing in this pub.

Great place ok food

By Dimuthu J |

Food: We had burgers. A good size and tasty. Beer: a good selection of beer Good service. Friendly staff

The good, the bad, and the ugly

By ct-cruisers |

My wife and I were going to a Rangers game and after reading so many good reviews on TripAdvisor, we decided to come here for dinner and drinks before the game. We arrived around 4:00 pm and found several empty tables in the back which worked out well for us. We were greeted by a friendly waitress who brought us a round of beers. I had ordered a Guinness and was a bit disappointed in the size of the glass. It was about 2/3 the size of a proper pint. Both my beer and my wife’s bottle of beer were not very cold. We told the the waitress that we would wait before ordering food. We had finished our drinks when she came by again asking if we wanted another round. We said no, but we did want to order food. She walked away and about five minutes later, a different waitress brought us two more beers. We said that we did not want them and we just wanted to order food. The new waitress, in a not so friendly tone, said she would take the beers back and walked away. Feeling guilty (why?), I went to the counter and brought the two beers back. The new unfriendly waitress came back to take our food orders. My wife ordered a corned beef sandwich with fries ($10) and I ordered bangers and mash ($14). The food came about 15 minutes later. The corned beef sandwich was huge as it was filled with sliced meat that was tender and tasty and the fries were very good as well. The bangers and mash were a big disappointment. The bangers were 5 Jimmy Dean breakfast sausages no bigger than short pencils that were hard and shriveled (I am thinking leftover from a previous day). The gravy was okay and the onion slices were barely warmed let alone grilled. When the unfriendly waitress came by asking if we wanted another round of drinks, we said no and asked for the check. We still had another hour before the gates would open for the Ranger game, so we went next door to another Irish pub for two more rounds of drinks instead of staying here. (I also ordered food there as I was still hungry). We will not be returning here for drinks or food before a game at the garden.

Blarney is back, now Celtic Rail

By Jay Lanza |

The legendary Blarney has re-opened. I was shut down for about 12 months but it has re-opened last week, it is now The Celtic Rail. Soft opening( liquor only) till they get the kinks out but food should be available shortly. Place has been cleaned up and brightened up, both upstairs and downstairs. Place is back and better than ever.

If you like a buzzing place to eat, this is it. Food excellent, staff friendly and lots of sport on at the same time. We recommend this pub for atmosphere and good food

Excellent bar - One of the best in NYC!

By Gary |

Without doubt this is the best bar we have been to on our frequent trips to NYC. Excellent food throughout the day, good atmosphere but above all the staff are the best! We have been frequenting the Rock for almost 10 years and always have a great time here. Highly recommended!

Great stop en route to MSG

By Dons5 |

Talk about Irish luck.... we were aiming for a restaurant and next door and a local hotel bellhop pointed us to the Blarney Rock Pub. It looks like a bar but has restaurant seating in back. Service was Irish and excellent! We enjoyed it a grilled chicken salad a well as the open faced reuben. Drink service was very quick as well. And everyone is so polite and happy! We would definitely return. Thanks Blarney Rock Pub!

Ireland in NYC

By CountryVet |

The place seems to attract Irish and Scottish expats While the food selection leaves something to be desired, the drinks, service and overall atmosphere is great Come ready to share a conversation with s stranger, laugh with the barkeep and relax

Great spot

By Kelly M |

Great spot, had some burgers and beers before a show at msg. Felt like a great local pub. Didn't get to check out the roof top but service was great, beers were cold, and burgers were juicy and cooked really well. Fries were pretty standard but definitely not bad. Overall, great experience.

Close to Madison Square Garden

By James C |

Wide selection of food for multiple tastes with several Irish favorites. Lots of TV's to enjoy the sports prior to going to Madison Square Garden, which is one half block away. Was able to watch the Yankees and the final round of the Masters while eating prior to the Rangers season finale. Wide selection of beers but curiously, the only Irish choice is Guinness. I had been in the city all day and was tasting a Smithwicks only to find they don't stock that. Fairly loud too, but pregame you would expect that. Service was fast and courteous. FF's are tasty and crisp, my fish was okay but my wife's chicken wrap was delicious. Corned beef was lean and Turkey Club was also excellent. Rating would have been a 5 if they had Harp, Smithwicks or Killians Red. Good value for price, especially in NYC and this close to the Garden.

Great Irish breakfast/brunch

By Eileen B |

We had the Irish breakfast and an Irish hamburger, food was excellent. Just like home. The Guinness was worth a try also.

Quick Bud

By The Five Road Trippers 🚙🎡🎢🧳 |

Stopped into this dive bar for a quick Bud. Friendly bartender. Place was busy at 5pm. Seems like a popular watering hole.

Great Find !!

By Taylor762 |

The Blarney Rock is a great bar, we had food once which was also good. Made to feel very welcome by staff and local New Yorkers, chatted and gave us advise about things to do in the area. We used it has our local!!

Beers!

By Chantel B |

Stopped in for a quick beer while in the city and our bartender was friendly and nice! Beer was delicious too

The jewel of NYC

By Lee |

This place is an absolute must when visiting New York, especially after your feet hurt after your missus has dragged you around the endless shopping venues close by! The staff are the best I encountered (which is saying something) the atmosphere was great too. Can't emphasize how welcoming this place was. It'll be my first call when we return next year.

Casual atmosphere and convenient to MSG and Penn Station

By Ramseytraveller |

Stopped in here for a pre-concert dinner and drinks. There are several Irish pubs in a row, and they were all full of hockey fans but this one had a hi-top table available on the street level. We had the Caesar Salad, Reuben, Shepard's Pie along with our drinks. Our order was taken promptly, food served fast and was piping hot (especially the Shepard's Pie – not the salad). All good bar food and good service.

Come back every time!!

By Crick |

Third trip to NYC in November, third time I have been to this cracking little boozer. Whether you want a few pints after a long day sight-seeing, a light lunch or a decent dinner The Blarney Rock provides it all. This visit, we were greeted with the usual warm hospitality and the service was friendly all night. Stopped for lunch on the Friday, beers on Saturday evening and a light bite before heading to the airport on Monday. It helped that our hotel was 2 minutes away but I would have travelled here wherever I was staying. Hope you enjoy!

Great Location for MSG

By Benny25 |

Mrs B and I have been here many times on our trips to NYC. Great location for MSG, excellent atmosphere, great food (I had a chicken caesar salad- enough for 2!), great beer all at not too bad prices for NYC. Will be back!

Super Sandwiches...

By Oachie |

Wife and I were greeted quickly. We ordered corn beef and brisket sandwiches. Generous portions. Very tender. Needed a little salt for my taste. Drinks were refilled quickly. Service was very friendly and efficient. Would return again and recommend to a friend.

Special Thursday lunch

By shutter-up |

The pub is small and cozy. Great service and good food The corn beef and pastrami sandwich's are the best. Reasonably priced. Good selection of beers.

Honest Pub Grub

By Pat C |

Menu has far too many choices but, I guess that is New York. The pub is typical of any Irish Pub on Manhattan. If you are staying in Chelsea this pub is the one to visit. It has a roof top bar together with Mexican cooks cooking Irish Pub Food. Don't be put off, they do it very well. Wait staff are Irish & enjoy a bit of banter. Drinks are at a reasonable price.

Upright sports irish bar...

By sanju_222323 |

After trying to get into 2 alternate restaurants that had long wait times we walked into the Blarney, were seated and ordered up our meals in no time. There are two floors to choose from. The bottom floor has a large bar area and tables in the back for waitress service and meals. I like going upstairs to the 2nd floor, which is more intimate and the best part is the roof that slides open in warm weather. Nothing like have a cold drink on a warm NYC night with the stars above you; throw in some great live music, dancing with your friends and that is the recipe for a fantastic night in the city. Drinks are average-priced for NYC. We ordered Wings and some other fries. The prices are considered reasonable as well. We were pleased with our experience and can't wait to visit again!

Great Food & Drinks

By sunny45 |

Nice place for food and drinks. Good service, nice atmosphere, service was very good. Some traditional Irish items on the menu, which were very good. Several floors. Place gets very crowded if there's an event going on at MSG. Prices were reasonable for the area. Good choice if you're in the area.

Pre-Show U2

By John N |

Was on the rooftop bar Sunday before the U2 show. Good drinks, cranking U2 songs, as it should be. Make this one of your go-to's before MSG events. You won't be sorry. Try the roof if downstairs is too crowded.

Dive Bar is a good description

By Karen F |

We searched Yelp to find a good dive bar near Penn Station, and this fit the bill. The bartender was less then welcoming. We had a few beers and Irish coffee and ordered sweet potato fries, which were just OK, served without any dressing of any type. Location is great for meeting up, but nothing to right home about

Great bar, relaxed and good location

By Geraldine L |

We were staying in a hotel a couple of blocks away. Stumbled on this bar and was so glad we did. Great selection of beers, loads of sport on TV, friendly staff who are super efficient at what they do. Would highly recommend a visit.

Cozy and with good food just steps from The Garden

By yatach |

We visited this restaurant about a month ago but we remember our first time experience fondly. We were in a rush to see the Eagles at the Garden and came for a quick bite. It had been recommended by friends. The Pub was on the smaller side and very busy. Yet, the food came quickly and was nice and hot as it should be. My wife and I were both happy with our food (Shepards Pie and Fish and Chips). I would have liked to seen some beer specials but the amount of choices was good and the prices in-line with the city. We liked being able to talk to our Irish waitress about Ireland and her experience so far in America (that is when she was not whirling about trying to serve her customers). All-in-all an enjoyable experience. We would most definitely come back again. I gave it 4 stars in part because I liked the Irish Pub atmosphere so much.

Bar food is good

By Ryawill |

I liked the place. A few friends stopped by after work for some beers and a bite. Food was good - excellent bar burger and fries.

Excellent

By t-spillers |

The guys went here while the girls were shopping on a recommendation from a tour guide. The atmosphere was great and the service was good. Food was good with large portions for the price. We were there early before the crowds arrived and left as it was getting really busy

Yes I took the kids to a pub on Sunday at noon but it was for the history

By TheLangGangOf5 |

This is a NYC classic spot pre and post rangers games and when by Madison square garden you must pay homage! It is a dive and should be respected as such. Beer isn't as cold as it should, floors might not be as clean as you'd want but the bar tenders and friendly and full of info and local lore and the regulars; well if you want New York flavor they serve it up in spades.

Irish gold

By ROB A |

Just left from here and had a great dinner. Great atmosphere, friendly staff and great location near MSG. Mostly sandwiches and such, but does have some good dinners too. Priced right and great food. Bathroom is small so you may have to adjust. Will be back.

Awesome Dive Bar

By BTSewall |

Place is wide open and I never really had a problem finding a seat somewhere. Bar tenders are pretty attentive. Good selection of beers and strong mixed drinks. Prices are cheap compared to other places in the area.

Great Pub!

By ivytravel |

Had a great time at the Blarney Rock when we a few of us visited to beat the heat. Staff was efficient and very friendly. Sometimes in NY you can get some surly help but not here. All were helpful and always available for requests. Drinks were served quickly and they would stop by frequently to see if we needed anything. Lots of big screens so we could all watch the ball games. Food was also very good, we loved the shepards pie and everyone else loved the burgers and sandwiches. Unfortunately the roof top was closed but it was during the heat wave and in the high 90's so best we all stayed in the air conditioning. We will return here on our future trips to NYC!

A Fine Irish Pub

By Eva S |

A great Irish Pub located on W 33rd Street, New York City, great staff and definitely great drinks. Bartenders know how to pour! I especially love the rooftop bar, excellent area to hang out with friends and watch sporting events. Also love that the owners love the New York Rangers!

Blarney Rock Pub, NYC

By Ila M |

We grabbed a quick dinner since it was close to our hotel. It was okay...nothing fancy. Service could have been better and food was average.

The Rock

By Wayne M |

My favorite Bar since 1974. I went there almost every day for lunch when I was working in the area and on the way home while waiting for my train from Penn Station. Always treated us construction workers very well Mike was one of the best bar tenders in NYC. I miss the place since I have retired to NC but I stop in for a few cold ones every time we're in NY.

Great local bar & staff

By FDNYBUFF |

Great bar full of locals and tourists. Great beers on tap and also happy hours. The food is really good in here. Burgers & chicken what more do you need in a pub. Great breakfast to. The boss man Ray looks after his customers. See for yourself.

A bad choice

By Ericleking |

We called in here prior to a basketball game at MSG. The welcome we received was disgraceful from the bar staff. We felt as tourists we were treated poorly compared to Americans. We had to ask twice to get a drink and then the same again on the second round. 2 big bar staff, one of whom may be Irish but we had the miserable American one. The draught beer was flat and the glass was dirty, I told the bar tender and he said 'one minute' - he then started serving other people and never came back. Okay, so you don't like tourists - why work in a bar in an area frequented by tourists? This may be a reason it was so quiet and lacking in atmosphere. The screens were good for sport - that's the only slight positive I can give this poorly run bar.

Good Times All Around!

By PattyLongIsland |

Have stopped at Blarney Rock several times after work for a quick snack, drinks and to listen to some good music with friends. There are two floors to choose from. The bottom floor has a large bar area and tables in the back for waitress service and meals. They serve the standard pub fare, with the focus on fried foods and Irish favorites. The staff is friendly and they work their butts off. Drinks are average-priced for NYC. The food is fine, stick with the burgers. The manager even sent me a nice email when I noticed the events calendar was incorrect online. That's great customer service! They have specialty cocktails, plenty of beer choices, happy hour specials and plenty of TVs to watch the games. Nice way to spend an evening in New York.

Warm welcome and good food

By Higgins1000 |

The Blarney Rock is and Irish Sports Bar, 2 minutes walk from Penn Station and Madison Sq Gardens, and about 8-10 mins from Empire State, Its very much a locals bar with lots of banter between the regular customers and staff, but with visitors made to feel equally welcome. We went in for lunch on a VERY Cold day and found the bar to be warm and friendly with a good choice of food, from bar snacks to full meals. The Beef Stew went down a treat, and very good value for money both for food and drinks, especially compared against some of the other bars we had tried over the previous few days. Will definitely go back next time in New York.

Food was amazing

By Fiona W |

The food was excellent and service was top notch would recommend this as a place to eat in New York x

Brilliant Pub

By Evelyn S |

We had two great nights in this pub and on our last day we had breakfast before we left. The lads behind the bar are so nice really made us feel welcome and the girl who served us breakfast was so nice, the breakfast was just like an irish breakfast youd have at home a def for a visit while in New York

Quick Bite and Pint While Waiting For Train

By MtJoyRambler |

Great prompt service. Classic Irish fair. Super pints and spirits. Convenient. A good value. Easy to get to. Treat yourself and avoid the mediocrity of the station fair.
