The food was very good but the service was the best! Our waiter was Adrian and he went above and beyond! This kind of service is what really sets a place apart from others!

A Favorite Spot That Keeps Impressing

By Amy W |

Another fantastic experience at Blue Fin! I love bringing friends here because the atmosphere is always beautiful, the service exceptional, and the food consistently amazing. We usually ask for Adrian, who is our favorite waiter, but this time we were seated before we had a chance. Even so, our server was excellent—and Adrian still stopped by to say hello and make sure we were well taken care of, which really shows the level of service here. We’ve been dining at Blue Fin for many years, and every visit is memorable. This time, we even got a picture with Adrian!

Great Sushi and service from Katya!

By Marco M |

This is my go-to sushi restaurant in or around Times Square. It is exquisite and clean, and the food is excellent. Most of all, I really enjoy coming and being greeted by Katya. She is an excellent bartender who always takes my drink and food orders with a smile, offers great suggestions, and is amazingly friendly to my daughter, who plays Young Nala in The Lion King on Broadway. In fact, all the kids enjoy coming to Blue Fin for the great food and friendly service from Katya. I definitely recommend this location!

Wonderful, better every time we go.

By JamboAltadena |

We always have dinner at Blue Fin, with friends and family, when we come to NYC to see shows. Great food, great location near the theaters, and starts serving early enough to enjoy a leisurely meal and still make a 7 PM curtain. This month (June 2025) was no exception. Wonderful vibe. Our wait person, Al, is terrific --- engaging, helpful, and perfectly embodies Blue Fin's attentive yet unfussy service. And the food: best meal we had in NYC. Fresh fish, perfectly prepared, flavorful and satisfying, and delightful desserts. If anything, Blue Fin's cuisine has improved over the 20 years or so we've been dining there. Highly recommended.

Audrey was wonderful! Incredible food and ambiance.

By jewelssmiles2 |

Amazing experience before seeing a Broadway show. Audrey was our server and was incredibly knowledgeable. We tried new dishes and were blown away by the food. Enjoyed Filet Mignon with lobster tails, sushi, soup, bang bang shrimp. Thank you BlueFin!

Fabulous & Welcoming

By Valeria |

Visiting NYC for the first time and came across this seafood spot- and it did not disappoint. Sushi as well as the bread pudding we had for dessert were fantastic, and our server, Al, was super hospitable and kind! Shout-out <3 Would recommend this place if you're into seafood.

AMAZING

Alejandra was absolutely INCREDIBLE! Not only is she the most stunning human, she really cares about what she is doing! Her passion here at Blue Fin was outstanding!!! Would 100 recommend! Thanks Alejandra!!

Great Experience

By amelia w |

I spent my birthday dinner here and it was absolutely fantastic. Being in the heart of Times Square, you’d think it would be impossible to get a table, but the service was very fast and they were very accommodating. Our server Al, was great as well. They were really attentive to our needs. Overall a great experience.

Wonderful!

By Michelle D |

Stopped on at Blue Fin before a Broadway show. Everything was excellent, and our service person Colby was PHENOMENAL! Helpful, personable and so kind. Would definitely recommend!

Get the magic dragon!

Wonderful stop before our broadway show! Adrian had great suggestions for our meal and our trip to NY. Highly recommend!

Excellent restaurant time square

By Dean B |

This is one of our go to places when staying in Midtown. The service, food is always consistent, and the price for Time Square hits the mark. Sara provided excellent service and we will go back in January. Recommend this place highly.

Great seafood

By Mary W |

We were in Rockefeller Plaza in December. It was cold and we got a bit lost and were glad to be back at our hotel, the W. So we ate dinner at Blue Fin since it was attached to the hotel. It was delicious and our waiter Tim was fabulous!

U can do much better

By RetiredNLuvinIt_11 |

We had a reservation. Arrived on time and told the only table available was a rickety one where they stored menus near the front door on a cold evening. We had theater tics, so options limited. Waitress very pleasant and took our drink and food orders. 30 minutes later— We still have not received water, nor drinks, nor appetizers. I was not overwhelmed by the menu, but can’t comment on the food since it never came. This place is a classic Times Square clip joint, IMO.

A total gem of a restaurant in Times Square

By Beth Anne D |

This is true a game of a restaurant right in Times Square. The service was amazing - we had Al as our server. Incredibly attentive and a wonderful server. The sushi was so fresh, delicious and everything came out in a wonderful presentation. Drinks, food. Atmosphere, service - great!

Blue fin is good

By EthanH |

Food was delicious, and our waitress Tiba did a great job!! The Haiku Junmai sake and the mussels were a great combination. The steak was fantastic. Way better than Applebees.

Perfect spot for a nice dinner before or after a show!

By Alyssa S |

Blue Fin was wonderful, from the ambiance, to the food, to the drinks, and the service. It’s a gorgeous space, perfect for a nice meal. They were very accommodating, seating my mom and I early for our reservation. Audrey, our server, had the best recommendations and was attentive and personable throughout our time at Blue Fin! She even asked if we had any time constraints when she noticed we had playbills. Would definitely recommend and plan to come back with my boyfriend in the future to share that amazing bread pudding!

Nicole the best!

By Reena Karen R |

Nicole made a fantastic drink! She is the best! Will definitely come back! The way she makes the drink is the phenomenal!

Upstairs bar is the move!

By Brendon T |

5 out of 5. Katya took great care of us upstairs at the bar, my go-to when traveling for business! Despite the tourist-y location (Times Square), this is a lovely little escape if you find yourself in the area.

Best Service and Dessert!

By Emily C |

We asked Tim for recommendations, and he absolutely delivered, from the bottle of wine we shared to the sushi choices and the best dessert we’ve ever had. We highly recommend requesting Tim as your server.

Great restaurant, friendly waiter, great food

By Adam C |

The food was great at a reasonable price and our waiter Adrian went above and beyond making it a great trip. The atmosphere was amazing and he treated us amazingly!

Excellent food, service and vibe

By Kent P |

We had excellent wedge salad, crab cakes and sea bass using recommendations from our server Al. Great drinks and dessert too. Great vibe and service before theater and quiet from Times Square.

Meh - Food was fine, but service will keep us away in the future

By Frederick J |

The food was fine … but there was a surprising lack of service and attention to detail for our business party of 4 at dinner. The dining room was not busy, but our server was unable to follow up on our order, drinks (multiple times), chopsticks or soy sauce, or check in … after waiting with our food for awhile, we ended up going to the bar (chopsticks & soy sauce dish) and then to the server station, where we were given soy sauce for 1 (didn’t realize the bottle was near empty), waited for coffee and the bill … Other folks on the floor did not offer cover support for their colleague. I generally avoid negative reviews unless a place falls well below. Maybe it was an off night.

Excellent fresh seafood with unmatched service with Ria!

By Dale G |

I had the pleasure of being served by Ria during my recent visit to the Blue Fin, and she absolutely made the experience memorable. From the moment we were seated, Ria was warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. She anticipated our needs without ever being intrusive and struck the perfect balance between professionalism and friendliness. Her knowledge of the menu was impressive—she made thoughtful recommendations and ensured every detail of our order was perfect. Our drinks stayed full, our questions were answered with a smile, and she checked in at just the right times. It’s rare to find someone who clearly takes such pride in their work and truly cares about their guests’ experience. Ria’s exceptional service elevated our night, and we’ll definitely be back—and asking for her by name. Thank you, Ria, for making our dinner so enjoyable!

Great Food and Service

By Adriana M |

Both the place and the sushi were excellent. Adrian, our waiter, was amazingly kind and helpful. The atmosphere was most inviting and the prices were really good for the quality of the food. We will definitely be going back despite all the choices in Time Square

Make reservations NOW!!! DELISH.

By Sightsee35960703682 |

We had a wonderful dinner before a play on a Sunday night. It was a madhouse outside so we walked off the street near Times Square (on Broadway) into an oasis. Flickering candlelight and soft music. Our waitress was Tye and she was friendly, sweet, prompt, asked if we had a play to go to and made us feel so welcome. I had the Miso Crusted Sea Bass and my husband had the Pan Seared Salmon. Both were delicious and beautifully presented to us. We highly recommend Blue Fin. And Tye!

Fantastic wedding anniversary dinner!

By Robin Y |

Audrey helped us a ton as a good server. Good food and fast service. Ambiance was also good and location being steps from times square.

Audrey is Awesome

By Brittany M |

Great Spot for Theater Dining!

By txrdwarrior |

We try to go to Blue Fin every time we make it to the city. Food is always great and it is close to the shows. They have pre-fixe theater menu or you can order off the regular menu. I had the filet and it was perfect, and my partner had the miso glazed sea bass also great. Joanna was our server and she was friendly and helpful and got us out the door in time for our show. Highly recommend Blue Fin!

I wish the steak was better .

By Sassy A |

This was my first time at this restaurant . I loved the ambiance and the overall astethic of everything. Our server Karwee greeted my boyfriend and I and went over the menu and recommended some great choices. I ordered the tiger prawn dumplings and my boyfriend ordered the shrimp and crab lobster rolls for our appetizer. They both were excellent . For our main he got the twin lobster tails with.the fried rice and I got the surf and turf . We also got a side or the white cheddar mac and cheese . Everything was great until I cut into the center of my steak and it was completely raw. I ordered it medium well. Unfortunately my steak was still mooing. I normally am not a person to complain about food but it was way too rare for me to eat . Kawree kindly too the matter to with his manager and they remade a new steak for me without any issue . When he brought back out a new one it was running with blood when I cut into it and still raw. I'm not sure what went wrong or what's going on with the cooks in the back but that steak was u edible unless you like raw steak. Other than the steak everything else was great . I hope they can fix this issue for others in the future. Kudos to Kawree thoe for going above and beyond to still make our service exceptional 👏🏼

Ria Made Our Night – A Standout Experience at Blue Fin

By Cel G |

I had dinner at Blue Fin in Times Square with my brother, and what was meant to be a casual evening turned into something really special thanks to Ria. From the moment we were seated, she greeted us with such warmth and genuine kindness that we instantly felt at ease, even in the middle of the hustle and bustle. Ria took the time to walk us through the menu, offering thoughtful recommendations that ended up being spot on. We shared oysters to start—so fresh they practically melted—and followed with perfectly prepared entrées that she timed beautifully. She struck the perfect balance of being attentive without ever hovering, and her energy made the whole meal feel elevated, like we were being taken care of by a friend. She even picked up on the sibling dynamic between us and added a few sweet touches that made us laugh and feel completely at home. In a restaurant that’s always buzzing, Ria created a calm, joyful experience that stood out from anywhere else we’ve dined recently. If you’re heading to Blue Fin, do yourself a favor and ask to sit in Ria’s section. Her presence, care, and professionalism transformed our night. Thank you, Ria—you made what could have been an ordinary dinner into a truly memorable one.

We ordered the calamari for appetizer- it was amazing!! We ordered twin lobster tails and my daughter ordered the Alaskan crab legs seasoned with a delicious butter sauce!! Unbelievably fresh. If you like seafood this is the best place in NYC we have ever gone to!!!

Lovely without being pretentious. Look up, the decor is reminiscent of Chihuly.

By deborah b |

A wonderful dining experience all around. The ambiance is upscale without being stuffy, the food excels, fresh, beautifully presented, the staff are friendly, knowledgeable, professional without being intimidating. Highly recommend this place. Ask for server Joanna, she's the best

It was a great stop for Happy Hour. Maria, our server, was extremely friendly and attentive. Excellent bites, drinks and most importantly, SERVICE! Special shout out to Maria for all the suggested places to check out in the city and for being an awesome server.

Aris the traveler

By Aris A |

I recently dined at Blue Fin Restaurant and had the pleasure of interacting with their talented bartender, Nicole. Let me just say, Nicole's skills behind the bar are unmatched. Not only did she whip up some of the most delicious cocktails I've ever had, but she also provided top-notch customer service

Great pre-theater dinner experience.

By Glen G |

We enjoyed our dinner, and Anjolina was very attentive to all of our needs. She should know that we enjoyed "The Picture of Dorian Gray" afterwards at the Music Box Theater.

Amazing food & service

Great dinner, great drinks and great service

By Giancarlo A |

Blue Fin in Times Square is one of those spots that makes you forget how hectic the city can be. From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere felt vibrant but still classy — the perfect balance for a night out in Midtown. The sushi was incredibly fresh, and every dish was plated beautifully. I tried the spicy tuna roll, lobster tempura, and miso black cod — all of which were next-level. The cocktails were creative and well-balanced, and the service was excellent. Our server Behad was attentive without hovering and made great recommendations. It’s definitely on the pricier side, but for the quality, location, and overall experience, it’s absolutely worth it. Whether you’re going for a date night, a business dinner, or just to enjoy good sushi and city views, Blue Fin is a solid choice. Highly recommend — I’ll definitely be coming back.

AL is the best! Great service!

By Lily A |

Great place to eat! AL was our server & they were amazing! My partner and I were visiting from out of town so not only did AL provide excellent service, but also was kind enough to give us recommendations of things to do in the city. I genuinely appreciate how kind and down to earth AL was. One of a kind! Made the dinner 10x more enjoyable. Thanks AL!!!!

Thank you Audrey and Blue Fin NYC

By Thomas R |

My friends and I had dinner at Blue Fin on 5/17 and Audrey was our server. She was excellent, super friendly and efficient. I would highly recommend her and the restaurant. We have eaten at Blue Fin many times before. It is conveniently located for most of the Broadway theaters. There are many great choices on the menu and we've always been impressed by the quality of the food. Thank you!

Great service, menu and food

By Ronpariser |

We had a lovely meal here upstairs. Beautiful restaurant.. Nice menu and our server was great. We had two appetizers- the bass bites and the crabmeat. Both were yummy. Entrees included salmon, tuna and the sea bass. Very good

Awesome experience with amazing hospitality.

By Lilly H |

The food was some of the best I’ve had, including the wonderful dessert that was out of this world. Charles made the experience over the top with friendly service and great suggestions.

Very good food, great seafood.

By lipschick |

Generally very good meal, really nice food, slightly strange seating area. We dined here as a family of 4 and all enjoyed our food. Which included Lobster Mac n Cheese, King Crab legs in Cantonese sauce (delicious), Calamari, Miso Glazed Sea Bass (very very good), Surf and Turf (demolished) and the prawn dumplings (spicier than you might expect) The food was very very good, we enjoyed our meal immensely. Only real nibble was the slightly strange place we were sat. Downstairs in almost what felt like a corridor from the main door to the kitchen. This is a large staircase that leads up to what I assume is a larger dining room upstairs, and to be fair it suited us with a buggy to be seated downstairs, but the whole area felt a little unloved and almost “emergency seating area”. Wouldn’t stop us returning though. And we will

Delicious pre-theatre dinner!

By Nathan C |

We had a great pre-theatre dinner here! Our server Ivey was fantastic and took such great care of us, the atmosphere was great, and the food was delicious! So glad we came

Excellent Date Night Dinner!

By Stephanie A |

My husband and I had a fabulous dinner at Blue Fin! The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, the Balcony seafood tower was the perfect amount of food for us, and our server Hayden was so kind! Very attentive and made great suggestions for our meal. We would definitely recommend and hope to come back soon!

Friendly Service

By Assitan M |

I came with a couple of my girls and had the pleasure of having Behad as our server! He was super kind and patient, as well as lively! I’d definitely recommend this place to anyone in the area.

A 10 out of 10 experience 🫶🏾

Our lovely friend Alexandra was so amazing! She recommended the Hibiscus Margarita and I’m SO GLAD that she did. I need one of these everyday! Blue Fin, I’ll be back. Thanks Alexandra

Delightful Dinner

By CatM50 |

Delicious dinner from start to finish. Oysters on the half shell, sea bass bites, salmon, sea bass, blueberry cheesecake, creme brûlée. Blackberry basil gin fizz was a great drink to start! Lovely dinner before the theater.

Great food, lacked atmosphere, but no fault of the restaurant

By Chris T |

We chose this restaurant for our last meal in New York after a 5 day break. It was certainly the best food we had on our trip. Sea bass bites to start , followed by salmon and sea bass dishes, which were all spot on. Our waitress was attentive (apologies forgotten the ladies name but from Texas!) and tried to make us feel as welcome as possible. The only downside was the lack of atmosphere, the restaurant is appointed and laid out to great standards, but there were only about 8 people in there, we were in different parts of the room (which is huge) so it was like dining alone. We were in at 8pm and out by 9 when the kitchen closed (no doubt due to no customers) We were told it was a quiet time of the year, which makes sense as the city was much quieter than our last visit in June 2013.

Saved experience !!

By hannah k |

The service could have been better, but the host, Andrew, basically acted as our server. He went out of his way to make sure we were taken care of—I honestly wish he had been serving us! His attentiveness really made a difference in our experience.

Kenzie the best server!

By Ashley S |

Kenzie was an amazing server she deserve a raise! She was super hospitable made us feel comfortable. She had a great attitude the whole night and the recommendations were amazing. We need more servers like Kenzie !

It's a no-no.

By jsrothnyc |

Don't bother to go. If you have a show to go to, find something in Hell's Kitchen. This restaurant can't prepare its meals for the money. I ordered halibut which was supposed to be the catch of the day and flaky and was served sea bass that was chewy. The vegetable accompaniments, broccolini and tomatoes, tasted burnt and were tough to chew. They threw the broccolini without steaming and it was horrible on the taste buds. The restaurant was so close to the theater; it could have been a pleasant meal. It was my unmemorable birthday meal.

Dine at Blue Fin it is a must

By Navigator68278033361 |

Dined at Blue Fin tonight 5/15. Food was delicious tasty and seasoned perfectly. Luckily for us we had the best server especially for myself being gluten free. Dariel was knowledgeable and extremely helpful and put us all at ease. Fantastic waiter

Poor Happy hour option

By azytnic |

Disclaimer: this review is ONLY for their happy hour option. I am making no comments on their regular menu. The positives, great location, fantastic modern décore, excellent service. The 2 points are lost for the actual happy hour options. First there is absolutely NO happy hour drink options. Not draft beer. Not saki. Not a cocktail. ZERO HAPPY HOUR DRINKS! Can you call it happy hour without drinks? Then the food options were marginal. $2 oysters are an ok price but they were small (nearly mussel size) and the flavours were off, my wife said they were the worst oysters we have had besides the mistake we made in Cuba. The sauces were good and the horseradish was fire. Edamé were good but a small portion and expensive. Crab cake was a single small inch diameter cake for $10. Best item was probably the lobster rolls. We quickly bailed and walked over to RA sushi bar with their on fire happy hour. $3 Edamé. $3 hot or cold saki. $5 Sapporo. Nice limited selection of rolls. Etc. So if looking for a « Happy hour », pass by Blue Fin. Looks good for a fancy dinner option though.

A surprising find in the heart of Time Square.

By mrstats69 |

We picked this place for dinner due to the reviews and its close proximity to a Broadway show we were seeing that evening. It was a good choice. When we arrived at 6:15pm, we told our waiter Adrian that we had 7:30pm show tickets, so he made sure the food came out quickly, which was appreciated. I started off with the lobster bisque for an appetizer and the A5 Wagyu steak for dinner. Portion sizes were very small, especially the bisque. Since I was still a bit hungry afterwards, I also ordered a crab/lobster roll. My wife ordered her usual sushi platter and all of it was very tasty, although pricy which was to be expected.

Surprising sushi in NYC

By Poolwoods |

If you're looking for art-made sushi, you've come to the right place. Super attentive and courteous staff (Karwel top) who presented us with the menu and advised in the choice. Extensive international wine list. Environment top comfort. A stop to do absolutely.

Texans in NYC

By Alan N |

Had a great time as a family celebrating our trip to NYC for Broadway shows and other sightseeing. We looked for a seafood dinner after Statue of Liberty cruise and settled on Bluefin. We ordered and our waiter, Dariel, was great and talkative. The sea bass was perfectly done and we shared the sides of Mac n cheese and Brussels. One of us had sushi, another crab cakes and two shared the prix fixe. Food was more than enough for all and the quality of each item ordered was fantastic. It’s in Time Square, but nice and quiet in the upstairs seating.

Excellent food and service and right across from Theaters!

By Tess U |

We went to Blue Fin before the theatre with our 10 year olds and they couldn’t have given us a better server! Audrey was great with the kids and the meals were all excellent! The sea bass and filets were both delicious. Highly recommend the restaurant and our server!

Sushi Was Delicious

By Brian S |

Adrian was our server and made our visit so pleasant and enjoyable. This was our second visit. We like the smaller portions though some may feel for the price not worth it. We did raw oysters, calamari for apps. Sake was Adrian’s suggestion though the most expensive was smooth and tasty . Don’t shy away from just ordering sushi, though limited choices- it was delicious! And perfect amount for 4.

Highly recommend

By Sophie B |

My family and I had a great time! Our server, Audrey, was wonderful and took great care of us. The service was great and the food was delicious!

Great Location

By Brett O |

Great location. Comfortable room. Service is attentive and friendly. Al was well versed on the menu. Many good seafood options. Miso sea bass is outstanding. Price makes sense due to the location.

Joanna’s the best!

By Melinda G |

Great service by Joanna! She took good care of us and our unique order. Food was great, Alaskan Crab was HUGE! We’ll be back!

Amazing atmosphere here. You will love the sushi

By Michael Ruiz |

Me and my Girlfriend both were quickly impressed by the beauty scenery at Blue Fin. Our server Adrian was a kind and knowledgeable guy. We highly enjoyed the blue Fin Roll and the tuna poke tocos are something I could eat endlessly.

Thank you Joanna!

By Annamaria S |

The interior is beautiful, especially in Christmas time. The music, vibes were great. Joanna, our server was super nice and friendly, she helped us pick our food and came to check up on us several times:) I can recommend!

A truly great dinner made better by our server Al

By Flyer36052924963 |

Our Server Al was amazing. Al took our appetizer order and based off of that order made fantastic recommendations for the main entree which was a Miso Glazed Seabass. Al made the experience a truly enjoyable one.

Great time!

Had a lovely little dinner here. It's such a a cute place (I'm obsessed with the jellyfish lights). The food tasted so good, and the service was great. Smiles from everyone since we walked in the door. Al was our server, they were wonderful.

Blue Fin

Good and pleasant meal. But, reservation taken the day before, arrived the next day the restaurant told us it was closed whereas we could book the day before. The restaurant closes every Sunday at 9pm. So it wasn’t a last minute mistake

A Wonderful Seafood Experience with Top Performing Staff

By UnitedStatesOfErica |

It was a fabulous day. The hubby took me to a matinee showing of Othello. It was absolutely magnificent! Afterwards, he took me to Blue Fin for a delicious dinner. The entrance is beautiful. Scenery is magical in jellyfish lighting. The hostesses are pleasant and seated us quickly. I do recommend that you setup a reservation. Adrian was our attendant. He was everywhere, since the place was busy. But I watched him service several tables with grace and speed. He is magnificent to be able to handle the pressure of that many tables without breaking a sweat and still be friendly. My husband and I started with that half-dozen oysters and lobster bisque. For our entrees, we had the Shanghai Tuna and the Blackened Seared Scallops. These dishes were extravagant and mouth-watering. The flavor of the parmesan on the oysters, captured in that crisp. The sweet/creaminess of the lobster bisque. That tangy saltiness of the citrus-soy on the tuna, mixed with the peppery micro greens. The spiced char of the blackened scallops. Every single taste was amazing in flavor! Pros: The Food (These flavors and textures are truly from a person who enjoys creating with food.) The Service (Adrian has set the bar high with his impeccable performance. He really made the experience of Blue Fin the most fantastic thing on this planet since Cirque du Soleil.) The Location (Right in Times Square, a corner from the theaters, convenient to hotels in the TS area.) Cons: The Price (Coupon McGhee, stay home. You can't eat well with moths coming out of your wallet.) The Location (Times Square is busy ... all ... the ... time. Forget about parking. Just take the subway or Lyft.) Overall: Blue Fin was a very enjoyable experience. Again, Adrian was a star performer and we appreciate his care in the details. The food was extraordinary with the nuances of the each ingredient combining to create a palate sensation. I highly recommend Blue Fin to anyone seeking a lovely, serene dinner with their partner, or even a nice meal with friends/family.

Pre-theatre hit.

By CEEQ2014 |

We chose this as a pre-theatre option near our hotel and short walk to show. We chose the pre-theatre menu and were not disappointed. Great food. The sticky toffee bread pudding was the best bread pudding I have had in a while. Service was friendly and atmosphere upscale and casual at the same time. Enjoyable dinner.

Excellent Service from Adrian!

By Sean L |

I came to Blue Fin for the first time this past week and were in a big time crunch because of our Broadway Show start time. Our waiter, Adrian was incredible! He was so nice and accommodating to what we needed. Aside from the speedy service, he was able to give me great recommendations on the menu. I really appreciated his willingness to help. We had comfortably had a three course meal in thirty minutes and was in our seats for the show with plenty of time to spare. Very thankful for Adrian's help!

Excellent dinner!

Great place before or after a Broadway show.

By Steven T |

My wife and I went there during happy hour at the bar before a Broadway show. The food was fresh, tasty, well presented and served within 15 minutes or so. I highly recommend the crabcakes, the poke tacos, the lobster rolls…really you can’t go wrong. The house margarita is outstanding. We were served by Nicole, who was friendly knowledgeable, efficient, and treated us like royalty. 6 stars. PS: the happy hour prices are a steal for the quality of this food.

Classy sushi joint for Times Square

By Nickeeet12 |

For being in the heart of Times Square, this restaurant doesn’t feel like it! It’s classy, spacious, and I felt the prices weren’t even too crazy for this area. We caught happy hour and tried the crab cake (soooo good, it’s all crab). We also tried a sushi roll and had some wine. We sat at the bar and it was laid back and quiet. I was impressed by this restaurant as we tend to avoid Times Square at all costs!

Search for the best bread pudding

By Dawn S |

I’ve spent years searching for the best bread pudding in the world. Some of the top contenders have been the Tobacco Company in Richmond VA, & the Fish Market in Key Largo, my friend Lucy, a small Italian Restaurant in Vero Beach 10 years ago, but I think the bread pudding I had tonight at the Blue Fin in NYC may have risen to the top. Maybe the in-house made Tres Leches ice cream on top did it, but it was fabulous. The sushi rolls were good too. Great service & atmosphere.

Great Experience!

By Resort45993992626 |

Two weeks ago, our family dined upstairs at Blue Fin, where we had enjoyed a meal during a previous trip to New York City in 2016. This experience equaled the excellence of our first visit, with wonderful food and ambiance! Our dinner was greatly enhanced by our server, Al, who was so personable and knowledgeable, providing expert insights on the craft cocktails and entrees, and very attentive service. The whole evening was a delight, and we highly recommend this restaurant!

Dinner before a Broadway musical

By Excursion20911156635 |

Came for a lite bite before seeing "6" and Al went out of her way to see that a dairy allergy was accounted for in our meal. Delicious food (salad, jumbo shrimp cocktail and crab rolls), good wine, and a location right on Time Square. A perfect start to a night on Broadway.

Great experience

By DomenicoVacca |

I came to the bar and Kateryna was a bartender, she was amazing,I stayed passed happy hour just for her.Good experience, will be back

Will Be Coming Back!

By Juanita S |

Decided to have a nice dinner before the theater and so glad my friend recommended me this place! The food here is amazing!! I highly suggest the Tiger Prawn Dumplings, Miso Glazed Sea Bass, and the Butterscotch Breadpudding. A little pricey, but definitely worth it. Our server Audrey also made sure we were taken care of, got out at a reasonable time for our show, and even offered to take lots of photos for us.

Lively atmosphere

By Gemma C |

Great restaurant. Lively atmosphere. Nice food. Staff were pleasant but we were quickly served and seemed to be a rush. Will definitely return.

Great sushi spot near Times Square

By Susan A |

Great spot for sushi before a Broadway show. The restaurant is large and can accommodate large seatings. We shared sushi rolls and firecracker shrimp. The Jellyfish lights hanging over the stairway are beautiful! The staff is friendly and quick with service.

A great dinner before a show.......or just to spend the evening w/ a delightful meal.

By Patricia Miller |

We just walked in for a 5:00 dinner before a show. Delicious! We had teh miso glazed sea bass and grilled filet w/ sour cream potatoes. I'm not sure which was better! Both are highly recommended.

Not a great experience

By Andrew P |

Went here for a pre Broadway dinner and did not have a good experience. I had the 3 course prix fixe meal and the lobster soup made me sick. I almost missed half my Broadway show sitting on a toilet. Additionally, the server forgot my dessert so we waited an extra 20 minutes which made us have to run to the theater to be on time. Steak plate was good. Probably wouldn’t go back

Exceeded expectations! I'll be back.

By joelkru1 |

Our server Adrian was the epitome of customer service, friendly, courteous and efficient. To be honest, I had low expectations for a Times Square eatery, but they were exceeded 100-fold! The blackened sea scallops with Mexican street corn and BBQ pork belly was to die for. I'll be back.

Nice experience

By Restaurant and Hotel Fan |

Perfectly located close to Times Square, this place is good for Sushi, Seafood and Steaks. Everything was very good, friendly service. For Europeans: The aircon is freezing this place, so take a sweater or something.

Carline is amazing

By Sibbreena A |

My time here was great but what was even better was caroline she was so helpful and nice she was coming back to check on us which I loved and she is just amazing I would even come back just for her and the food of course .

Perfect service from Al and Joanna!

By Jack K |

I had an amazing time at Blue Fin! Al and Joanna were so accommodating, and really cared about my experience. Once we became acquainted, they were both very enthusiastic to give me recommendations for the food and drink menu. I decided on Joanna’s recommendation, the magic dragon roll. I have had a lot of sushi in my life, I was FLOORED. Cannot thank these two enough for the service I was provided; next time I’m in NYC I know where my first stop is going to be!

Great staff, great food, perfect location

By Maren T |

What a great experience! Our server, Tye, was so attentive and gave us such great recommendations from the menu. Food was delicious and exactly as advertised. Such a great spot for us to go before seeing a show on Broadway! Highly recommend.

Great service

By elizabeth c |

Adrian and his team provided excellent service! Ambiance and food were OK: good sushi & salad, OK cocktail, tasty calamari but a little tough.

Overpriced bland and dry food and it was slow!

By Myka A |

Food was way too underwhelming for the price… our server was awesome though and tried to mediate the situation by checking in on us often but it wasn’t that busy and our food took a lonnng time! I’d understand if it were packed and busy but it seemed like it was just a few of us… salmon was dry. It’s not like it was a mess up and the server was more than happy to replace it but at this point… our experience was ruined… never coming back here…

Fun times with friends

By Sonja A |

Karwee is an absolutely amazing server. He made us feel welcome and at home from the time we walked in the door. The food is delicious. The service was great, and the drinks were amazing.

Good service

By Anthony H |

My family and I had a good time we was going to eat at carmines but we decide to settle with blue fin. The place is very fancy we were very surprised on how beautiful it look. Our server Karwee took good care of us keep us laughing and talking about the food he did not lie about how good that butterscotch bread pudding was. A must try. 🙏 thank you Karwee for being understanding even with our language differences.

If you have food allergies check the menu carefully before eating here as the chef won’t do substitutions

By SnorklerGirl |

I got the catch of the day grilled (usually a safe bet for me as I have celiac and a bunch of food allergies) thinking I would be given a choice of sides, but instead was told what the sides were. I am allergic to both (tomatoes and broccolini). As soon as I started to ask about substituting something else, the waiter said the chef wouldn’t do that. So, I asked that they be left off the plate just to be safe. Only then did the waiter offer rice as a substitute for both sides. I was served two clumps of sticky rice as a side for the sushi prep, I assume. The fish was ok, but I won’t be coming back. My friend’s meals were ok, so that’s why I rated a 2 instead of a 1.

Great dinner and service

By JetsetterNYC12 |

Adrian was a great waiter. Service was spot on. Dinner was great - we had the miso sea bass and tuna tacos. No wait. Was great with kids too.

Our go-to restaurant in midtown

By Jerry B |

Blue Fin has become our go-to restaurant when we see shows in midtown. It has a pretty, airy atmosphere -- not too crowded even when full, though like all midtown restaurants it can get lively and noisy. The food is delicious. Last night we shared a wonderful, sparkling, fresh seafood tower (we enjoy eating each item in the tower at the same time, in tandem), and absolutely delicious crab cakes for an appetizer. Our friends had sushi rolls and blackened scallops that they really enjoyed. Our server, Nicole, was attentive and friendly, and made great suggestions -- especially for the unique creme brulee with candied pretzels that was out of this world! We're already looking forward to coming back.

Nicole was a wonderful server!

By Ria C |

Food tasted well, it was in smaller than I thought it would be but well presented. Forgot to take photos. We were assisted by Nicole on which on the menu tasted great and she did not disappoint! Overall ambiance was nice too.

Request Karwee

By Maddison O |

Karwee was the best server, super personable and attentive! We went for a date night after our broadway show and he met all our needs.

CHARLES IS THE BEST!

By Mort Umbridge |

This is the absolute best service I've ever had in all my years of dining at NYC. Charles was magnificent! He catered to our every need and made sure to make my mother's birthday special. You can just tell when someone is genuine about what they do, and that is Charles. As a fellow server, I am just honestly all the way impressed. He was charismatic, charming, humorous, and attentive! Give this man a RAISE PRONTO. Will be back 10000000% but only for his service and AMAZING food. I was surprised to taste such fresh, great food in Times Square where most places are just okay. Come here, you will not regret it.

Loved it!

By Camille d |

The restaurant is beautiful!! The food was amazing and the wait staff (Karwee) was so friendly and accommodating!! Ten out of ten recommend!!!

Great food, drinks, atmosphere

By Emily |

We ate here on our last night in the city, and it was amazing. The selection of food and quality was great. We ate at several restaurants throughout the handful of days we visited, and our server here (AL) was by far the best we had!

Go for kenzieee!!

By Tatiana F |

Absolutely delicious food and amazing service. We had Kenzie as a server and she was wonderful. Super attentive and sweet. The food was 10/10 I had the calamari and pan seared salmon. Highly recommend. Not to mention the ambiance of the restaurant was beautiful. Btw get the west side cocktail, you’ll thank me later!!!

Ask for Audrey!

By Jim B |

We visited Blue Fin for a quick dinner on our first night in NYC. We had the pre-fixe theater dinners with my wife’s salmon outshining my filet with the surprise stars of the meal being the tasty grilled asparagus and the tantalizing bread pudding and chocolate desserts. While the food was well worth the cost, the true delight of the evening was our server Audrey. This recent NYC addition (originally from Seattle) absolutely made our night! Her professionalism, kindness and delightfully outgoing personality made our Blue Fin experience a truly unforgettable experience!

The staff and menu is top notch for sushi in Times Square

By SeaTraveler15 |

We love this place. The sushi rolls and sashimi are delicious. The ambiance is spectacular. The true gem of this venue right off Times Square is the staff! We especially really appreciate Adrian as he remembered serving us and has the best table service. We love his dinner recommendations. He really knows this menu well. We also love sharing stories on travel, life, hope and possibility. In many ways he is a table-side philosopher! Here’s to great dining experiences in NYC!

Al was amazing!

By Jaclyn D |

Went with a friend for the first time. Even though it’s located in Time’s Square, it was worth it! The cocktails were made well, the wine list by the glass had enough offerings, and our server was fantastic! Al was knowledgeable, attentive in the most perfect way, and made sure the dinner was an absolute pleasure. I will definitely be back!

Sushi, laughs and a five star experience

By Dives A |

Our dinner was already off to a great start, but Behad took it to the next level. He kept the vibes chill and lively all at once. You can tell he really enjoys what he does. We left full, happy and already planning our next visit. If you’re lucky enough to get Behad as your server, your night is about to be -extra- memorable!

Excellent dinner and service... we'll be back

By Tobi K |

We wanted a nice seafood dinner close to Times Square and this place had good reviews. It didn't disappoint! Our server, Adrian, was excellent. From the cocktails to the dessert, everything was delicious. I had the roasted cauliflower and kale salad, and the mix of flavors with the other ingredients was yummy. Same with the miso sea bass--I really enjoyed it. My husband also loved his meal, and complimented the manager on the food and service. Upstairs had a nice ambiance, too. We'll visit again.

Wonderful dinner in NYC!

By JR S |

I made a reservation for Blue Fin for my wife and I's weekend trip to NYC a week ago. After I found out that the restaurant location was right in Times Square, I got a little nervous thinking it might be touristy, overpopulated, and overrated. I will be the first one to say I was wrong in that assumption. The restaurant was kept rather cool which was great due to it being extremely hot outside and the ambience was beautiful. Our reservation was set for 4 pm and we seated immediately at 4 pm which was great to us having a Broadway show to get to after dinner. We were the second table occupying the dining room which was nice to not have all the commotion. Our service was great and the server's recommendations were spot on. We ordered sushi (Rainbow Roll) to start which was delicious. My wife ordered the Miso Glazed Bass and I ordered the Shanghai Tuna. Both dishes were fantastic and perfectly cooked. The flavors for both dishes were amazing and I can see why the staff recommends the Miso sea bass...Incredible. I also ordered an order of the White Cheddar Mac & Cheese. I had to make myself stop eating it, so much flavor and more than enough to share between 2-3 people. Towards the end of our dinner a few more tables were sat, but it was never overly crowded, maybe due to the early time frame, but we were not complaining. We have nothing but great things to say about Blue Fin and will definetly keep them in mind on our next trip to the city. Well done!

BLUE FIN :)

By G S |

Excellent food and Caroline, our server, took great care of us!! We were in a bit of a rush but were seated promptly. We learned of some of their best items and decided to go with most of the recommendations. Each item was amazing. We’ll be back.

Convenient to the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre. Excellent food.

By P D |

Hubby and I loved this restaurant. I have waited too long from our visit to give many specifics. It was an excellent choice if you are attending a play at Lunt-Fontanne Theatre as this is a short walk. We chose the Pre-Fixe Theater Menu. I had the Lobster Bisque and thought it was super. We both had the filet which we enjoyed. For dessert we had the butter scotch pudding which was good. The service was excellent. A good choice if you are going to see a play at the Lunt-Fontanne. (Death Becomes Her is awesome).

Good good. Miso Salmon a little under seasoned.

By D H |

Always enjoy my visit to Blue Fin. I enjoyed the atmosphere and food. Server was great and pleasant. I look forward to my next visit.

Nice, cozy and delicious.

By Miguel V |

Blue Fin is a hip place to have a nice seafood dinner. I ordered the Miso glazed Sea bass, highly recommended. Mariae, our server, was amazing and helpful.

Top notch, will come back

By JNO O |

5- excellent top notch service by Karwee and great display and taste of the food. The roasted cauliflower and kale salad is a must have.

Amazing Experience

By Beth L |

Blue Fin is such a gem! The food is phenomenal, but the service from Adrian is what really sets this place apart! He was so kind and thoughtful and made amazing recommendations. Highly recommend if you’re in Times Square

María, Jesús, Marcos

By Anthony a |

Maria, Marcos, and Jesus at Bluefin are absolutely incredible their service is warm, attentive, and always goes above and beyond. They made our dining experience unforgettable with all of their kind attitudes and flawless attention to detail. You can tell they genuinely care about every guest, and it makes all the difference. Bluefin is lucky to have them they truly deserves a raise!

Seafood delight!

By Kevin M |

Great night as usual at the Blue Fin. Our server Ria was wonderful! Definitely recommend her and the Blue Fin for a tasty seafood experience in NYC!

Great Experience

By dryanw |

From the ambiance to the presentation to the taste to the service (great service and recommendations by Al), everything about the visit met and exceeded our expectations. Located right in the heart of Times Square, we were hoping this wasn’t an overrated tourist trap. We were glad we chose to eat here.

Outstanding service complementing delicious dinner

By Barry K |

Delicious meal (sea bass and sushi followed by bread pudding) in lively atmosphere with outstanding service by Al. Our booth was set apart and we were able to enjoy conversation while being part of the scene. Al was exceptional, one of the best servers I’ve experienced.

First time visitors

By Brian M |

Came in for an early dinner before my wife and daughter took in a show. Our server, Adrian, was on point. He was very patient, attentive and courteous with zero urgency to move us along as we were finishing up. We ordered several rolls, as well as tuna sashimi…and everything was delicious (California, Super Rainbow, Blue Fin, Godzilla and Magic Dragon rolls). The highlight was the dessert menu. I’m a sucker for bread pudding and their butterscotch bread pudding was absolutely delicious! The location itself: outside was very nondescript. Stepping inside it feels like you’re transported into the sea with jellyfish lights overhead. Presentation was beautifully arranged. If there’s anything I would suggest as an area of improvement it would be a list somewhere of what rolls were in the boat, since the spicier ones were ones that my wife wanted to avoid. Other than that, it was a very positive experience all around.

Super Good

By Giada G |

We were seated quickly and the service was very friendly. All of the food was amazing especially the sushi. They also make the ice cream and gelato there.

Don’t skip the bread pudding

By Travel R |

Slightly unique take on some fairly typical dishes somewhat odd that its a seafood/sushi place. Not fancy but high prices given it’s literally in Times square. $69 for a couple mushy prawns…not great. But the crab legs were well seasoned and cooked. The fried rice side dish had mixed reviews. The butterscotch bread pudding was the best thing for sure, so many great textures, flavors, and temperatures. If I go back it will just be for that, which was also the best value on the menu at $12 I think. Server was uninformative but pleasant.

Excellent food, excellent service

By Jax R |

We have a wonderful dinner. I had the Magic Dragon roll and my friend had the sea bass blackened. Both were served perfectly. Clayton was an excellent waiter!

Pre show dinner

By Venture02456823910 |

Very well designed place. Upscale sushi and seafood place. We had the rock shrimp app, tuna tacos, asparagus and other dishes. Food was delicious but the tacos could have been a little bigger. Great service-they replaced a drink my wife didn’t like free of charge. Would definitely go back.

Almost Perfect...

By Philippe P |

It was an almost excellent experience as our waiter Karwee was great! He was very attentive and he made excellent recommendations. The food came out great except for the steak. It was ordered medium well but the center was totally raw. The steak was returned and the second attempt came out very bloody. We ultimately skipped the steak all together. Hopefully this restaurant can get their steaks under control.

Great food. Great staff

By joseph p |

Salmon was excellent. My waiter Karwee talked me into the bread pudding and man was it delicious Great staff Friendly and helpful

10/10

By Katrina M |

The food was great! Service by Karwee was excellent! Must have the Lavender Mojito. The King Crab fried Rice was to die for. The rolls and nigiri were fresh! Will definitely come back. 10/10

Another Wonderful meal at Blue Fin

By Amy W |

Had another amazing dinner at Blue Fin. This place never disappoints. Adrian was our waiter and he did a fantastic job. This was my mother's first time at Blue Fin and she wasn't sure what to get. Adrian made a suggestion, I think it was the bass, and my mother loved it. I got sushi, as I normally do, and then we also had the most amazing chocolate dessert. Adrian was friendly and his service was outstanding. We hope to see him again in April when we return.

What a shame

By DebandJeff |

We went for dinner Ordered prawn cocktail which was good 4 very large prawns - nice Main was to share baked potato, mac and cheese, roasted cauliflower cheese and hot rocks wagyu beef. It all arrived and looked lovely however the four slices of wagyu beef were wafer thin and I mean see through and 2” square and were $49 We mentioned that we were disappointed with the beef and for nearly $50 but our server just shrugged we have had Wagyu all over the world and this is the first time I have been able to see through it The food was good but the wagyu is a total rip off you have been warned

Food okay service amazing.

By Drew W |

I was surprised on how much the place has changed. The food was okay , looks like the quality has gone down. My server KARWEE was excellent took his time to help guide us with the food items. He personality made our night great work ethics and postive attitude. His recommendation was on point.

Great service and food

By Kristin A |

Our server Kay was the best. Great attention and great recommendations. Food was delicious. Atmosphere comfortable and contemporary. A great find in Times Square- you would never know it was so busy outside.

Best restaurant in NYC nestled inside the W hotel Times Square

By Jenelle J |

This is my favorite restaurant in the whole city and is an absolute must for anyone traveling here. The food and service is above reproach always. If you're not a big seafood eater don't pass this place up for that because they have the best steak I've had worldwide. No joke! The only thing that came close is a flourentine steak in Italy! Stop in for drinks served by the lovely and friendly mixologist Kateryna behind the upstairs bar.

Great food and service!

By Casey M |

Amazing food and customer service. Al was an amazing server who went above and beyond! We enjoyed our visit. Will be back.

Al is a great server

By Brett O |

Very pleasant return trip to Blue Fin. Spacious dining room so it is a relaxing environment. Food is well prepared and Al was a great server. Al was very attentive and handled all of our requests smoothly.

Great Sushi & Appetizers

By Lem3 |

We were staying in the W hotel which is connected to Blue Fin. We went twice during our visit, one time for dinner and then another time for drinks and appetizers after a show. For dinner, we had oysters on the half-shell and Roasted Bacon. The oysters were good but not the best I have had. The Roasted Bacon was really good. We each ordered a sushi roll - I had Yum Yum Babe and my husband had the Broadway Roll. We ordered entrees and my husband got the filet and I ordered the pan-seared salmon. We also order 2 sides - brussel sprouts and sour cream potato puree. My Pan Seared Salmon was overcooked and tough. The hash was cold and sweet potato was hard, quinoa was undercooked and I didn't taste any tzatziki dressing. I should have sent it back but we were running out of time to get to our show. My husband's filet was OK but no seasoning whatsoever. The sides were good and have no complaints about the sides. We did return a couple of days later for drinks and appetizers upstairs. We had the edamame and tuna poke tacos. Both were good, tacos were on the small side but we were told that ahead of ordering. I am giving 4 stars based on entreesd but would definitely go back for the sushi and appetizers.

Disappointed in Times Square

By TexasWorker |

As part of the Landry's chain, my expectations were a little higher than they delivered. My blackened fish was bland, something I've been pleased with at Landry's in Dallas and San Antonio. For the expense, I was disappointed.

Great place to eat. Nd reasonable price

By Keith Daum |

Food was excellent!! Great appetizers and the Sea Bass was great. Al was our server and was very attentive and friendly. Al had great suggestions for our apps and dinner options. Fantastic dinner.

Exceptional service

By Dr_Kohn |

We have been at Blue Fin a couple of times before. We love the atmosphere, the very friendly staff and the exceptional food. This time we had the pleasure of being served by Kataryna. Among all the excellent staff, she deserves a special recognition for going out of her way to make our dinner perfect.

Exveptional service and Food

By Erica G |

My 17 year old son and I came for dinner before a broadway show. It was absolutely wonderful. The restaurant is beautiful. Definitely get a table overlooking the staircase- the lighting is so original and perfect for the space. Our server, Adrian, was amazing. He was so attentive without being overbearing. He offered food and drink suggestions and made sure we enjoyed our food. As for the food… The Magic Dragon Roll was exceptional as were the fresh oysters. I had the pan seared salmon and my son had the daily catch- chargrilled bronzino. He ate every last bit of it. The desserts, crème brûlée and the chocolate diva, were exceptional. I’ve never had such a light yet decadent chocolate mousse pie! We gave it a 10/10!

Good food, Great service, Cool ambience

By Daniel W |

The food is solid sushi and pan Asian fare in the heart of Times Square. TBH, our waiter Adrian was a rock star. He handled my wife’s allergies perfectly, and his recommendations were spot on! The appetizers were tasty, the fish very fresh. Overall a solid pre-theater option. And ask for Adrian, he’ll take great care of your party!

Totally Perfect!

By Traveler789024 |

Al, our server was extraordinary! She was attentive, pleasant, and had great recommendations. The was delicious! There is a wide variety of choices and absolutely yummy! Great for casual dining or special occasions! Our family enjoy it for Thanksgiving dinner. You won’t be disappointed.

Great food, attentive service, speciality cocktails and huge portions!

By Colleen Z |

This is in a great location in Times Square, though the sign is small so we walked right past it the first time. The serving portions were huge, enough to share for the appetizers and desserts. We had the Bang Bang Shrimp and Shishido Peppers, they were outstanding and easily enough for 2-4 people o share. The Miso Glazed Seabass, which is one of their speciality items was wonderful as a main. Even though we were full from the wonderful meal, we had time before the play started, so we ordered desserts. The Creme brûlée was wonderful and huge, best described as a trough, enough for several people and worth every penny. They had creative and tasty cocktails and the service was very attentive. I highly recommend!

Great Sushi

By Michael S |

Sat at the bar, and our bartender Audrey was awesome. Great food, love the sushi, and happy hour has great choices. Will be coming back!

Terribly disappointing service

By THOMAS B |

DISAPPOINTING!!! We have dined at Blue Fin several times before. This time, was a disaster. This time the wait service was very very poor!!!! The waitress was incredibly slow and inattentive to our menu orders and table needs. Specifically: missing food items, incorrect delivery to the guests, timing of food to the table was slow while some had their food other guests waited. No water refills. Then, to make it worse, a 20% gratuity was Included to the bill. NEVER TO RETURN(((

Cozy place for seafood and sushi in the heart of Times Square

By ldjs |

I used to come here years ago, and now stopped by without reservation after theater, and it was better than before! The service is super friendly. Food is delicious. Most menu items are shareable. Very much enjoyed caterpillar and manic dragon sushi rolls and shrimp dumplings. Like decor and the style of seating, more privacy than usual. Great spot for pre or after theater, particularly if you like sushi.
