Great Brunch Spot

By jessicaedie |

It’s always nice to find a new spot in NYC. Had brunch with a friend at Bluebird and it did not disappoint. The English breakfast is superb - such a find in NYC. We were seated at a table with a view of Columbus Circle and Central Park, which made the experience that much better. The service is fantastic and the decor is great. The perfect spot for locals and tourists.

Lousy First Impression

By GibsonHyde |

As you head up the escalators of the Time Warner Center, there's a good chance you will start hearing a blast of music that seems to get louder the higher up you go. Eventually the mystery will be solved when you discover that it emanates from the latest British dining import Bluebird London. Not only is the music loud thanks to a DJ who straddles the two bright seating areas (with window view and without window view), but the decor is equally garish and loud. A quick glance of the menu tells you two things: Great variety of what appears to be a plethora of big British favorites, and even bigger prices. We decided to splurge on the Beef Wellington for two at $95.00. It arrived a tad too early but the pastry crust looked wonderfully crisp and golden, only to discover that the meat was still raw and cold in the center. In fact our steak knives couldn't cut through the uncooked sinew. We returned it for a second blast of heat and on its return, one of the steak slices was missing. We returned it again but settled on Fish and Chips instead. The profusely apologetic manager gave us an admission, that since he'd been on staff (3 weeks) that they had "only returned 3 Beef Wellingtons. Max" which didn't reassure me at all. My suggestion: remove it from the menu until the chef has either acquired the appropriate skills to prepare it, or purchase a meat thermometer to test for done-ness.

Great park views

Wide selection of menu items in a bright restaurant. Good service. Central Park views are excellent and a really convenient place at Columbus Circle.

Opening week issues

By Lawrence D |

We are always on the lookout for new restaurants in our neck of the woods and Bluebird in the Time-Warner building is literally a stone's throw from our hotel. The owners have taken the old Italian restaurant A Voce and transformed it into an attractive very chic looking venue. When we arrived, there was only one other diner. The wait staff consisted of one bartender/waiter which given those circumstances would not have been a problem. We arrived before the breakfast menu expired and ordered salmon with scrambled eggs on toast. Our order was swapped for a luncheon item that did not have eggs but some mayonnaise on toast. Rathe than make a fuss we went ahead and ate it--okay but not really what we wanted. If our waiter had explained that they stopped making eggs we would have selected something different. We might return but it will not be soon in anticipation that in the future the dining experience might be better.

An oasis of calm dining

By exprof |

A lovely, calm dining experience amidst the tumult of the Time Warner Center, especially in the restaurant's larger dining room looking out at Columbus Circle. Far different than its boisterous mothership in London. A somewhat compressed but ample menu. Excellent service with a desire to please. When one of our guests just wanted scrambled eggs with onion, it was cheerfully provided. Great sauces. Hollandaise a must for breakfast or lunch. Almond croissant was fabulous but should have been served warm. The bread too. One other nit: Tea should have come with hot water to dilute the tea steeping in the tea pot, as I am sure would have occurred in the real London. Overall: A bit pricey but worth it. I really liked it.

Lunch

By Expat F |

the staff couldn't have been more helpful. They were friendly, helpful charming and witty!......The food was very good, especially anything related to being British, we ordered several different dishes and enjoyed all of them. One shout out to the chef in the kitchen who makes the hot eccles cakes that comes with the cheese board, they were outstanding and we should know as they originate just 10 miles from where we come from. It's as authentic as something English can be. One more thing, the cocktails got a 10/10 from all of us.

Xmas Lunch was a Treat

By GailSTivano |

Thank you to the staff and chefs who provided a lovely, friendly, atmosphere for xmas lunch away from our home in Sydney. Although the location in the Times Warner building where absolutely nothing else was open was a bit unusual, once inside we had a warm, friendly atmosphere with great service and a lovely choice from limited menu. It was well done and memorable.

High Tea

By Allan H |

Great location, great view. Food was surprisingly good, better than expected. Service was a bit slower than we wanted, but worth the wait. If you want your tea before the food is ready, you need to let the wait person know. My biggest critique is that it is an expensive fixed price high tea, but worth it for a special occasion.

Great restaurant

Well pampered

Thank you for a lovely afternoon. 4 of us ladies celebrating our birthday over high tea every year. We are well pampered here this year. The Pink Tea service was lovely (5% profit goes to Breast Cancer Research 💓) The service was fabulous 💓 The setting and view was beautiful 💓 The food was yummy 💓 Thank you 💓💓💓

Great food let down by chaotic service

By Jamie H |

Great location, light and airy and terrific food. However, the service was shambolic - like a modern day Fawlty Towers. My guest and I were given different menus - one the correct lunch menu and one the incorrect menu. Two separate members of staff took our drinks orders and neither order turned up. It was a great ambience for a business lunch and I loved the food. However, it is the poor service that I will remember most. Especially when I also ate in Manhattan cafes and lower budget restaurants where the service was exceptional.

Mediocre

By lileeewhoo |

Came for dinner and took almost 10 minutes to locate the place. Really tucked away upstairs. On a Monday night, the restaurant was pretty dead - we were one of 4 tables. Albeit, the view from our table next to the floor to ceiling windows was lovely. Food was ok, overpriced for the basic offerings and portions. The Caesar salad was an interesting take and was probably the highlight of our meal. Our server was very friendly and accommodating but really focused on closing time/pushing us to order.

Nice Location - Average Food - Confused Service

By 493Ron |

Bluebird London is a new restaurant located on the third floor of the Time Warner Building at Columbus Circle - in the heart of midtown NYC. We had dinner here recently - I was unimpressed with just about everything. When we were seated the waiter asked about a cocktail - I ordered the Bluebird Martini. The waiter returned some minutes later to take a food order - no cocktail. Then my first course was delivered - still no cocktail. Really? How long does it take to get a cocktail? I really like to sip a cocktail and look at the menu - Bluebird evidently does not agree with my idea. When I was almost finished with my first course I flagged down a different waiter and asked if he would check on that absent cocktail. It showed up maybe 5 minutes later delivered by yet another waiter. It is really annoying when a restaurant has staff all over the place and they can't provide decent, basic service. Wow. They were not teriibly busy - maybe 40% occupied. The Bluebird Martini I worked so hard to get? It was not great - served in a weird glass (how about a great classic martini glass for a martini?) - a v-shaped stemless vessel set in a round bowl with some sort of rocks or crystals or salt. Served with a burnt-citrus slice. Lots of fuss and not delicious. That was annoying. My entrée (shortrib) was good - not great. Dessert was the best course - it was a Sticky Toffee something-or-other. I had to work once again to get a glass of wine to go with my dinner. This is an attractive room - the bathrooms are fun! I guess if you only care about the bathroom then this would be a good option. Prices are too high for the quality of the food and the quality of the service.

Breakie with a view

Loved everything about this place. The interior designer did a fab job. Wonderful views of Columbus Circle. Delicious food.

A Continued Constant Value

By globaltravelkid |

Review: High Points: eclectic LIGHTLY British-influenced menu varying greatly from the UK offering, most dishes appropriate for sharing; great wines by the glass (not much UK though-- the new UK champagne would be great to add); the two-tier level restaurant; the bathrooms that are just one big open space for all Low Points: our server Sean offered "tap, sparkling, still" and when we asked "what brand is your sparkling" he didn't know...which sets off a huge doubt if he doesn't know the water, how he can he know the food? ; our ressie canceled TWICE by a call from manager telling us the place was booked out for 1. movie and 2. photo shoot and he offered us a round of drinks when we DID come in, but then nobody knew what we were talking about and we never got those drinks; overly salted MacandCheese meant we couldn't eat it--and it came covered with fatty pork belly not clearly mentioned on the menu Unique Points: the view, the snobby attitude from check-in staff (even WITH a Jessie); the roped off areas at the entrance with no light giving the illusion of a tired, closed restaurant F&B Big Threes: Food: adequate Service: deft if insincere Ambience: lovely with lots of PLASTIC flowers and greens

Disappointing

By anouska c |

My friends and I had made a reservation for afternoon tea. The hostess led us near the bar where we had to wait aimlessly for 20 minutes. No real apology or reason given. Our order was taken quickly. The tea sandwiches, etc were ok but nothing spectacular. Also limited tea selection. We then had to wait another 20 minutes to have our bill settled.

Trying Different Things!

By Karen S |

Loved the decor, view and ambiance! Staff were friendly and food was good. Really only one complaint: was asked if wanted sparkling or still water to start, we each chose 1 of each and non labeled, large bottles were brought to the table. Was annoyed to find in the bill at the end they were $9 each. My mistake in not asking for, instead of still water, TAP water! Oh well. Prices were high, but knew that going in. A delightful Sunday brunch!

Cool English restaurant

By DallasLonghorn |

We went early for a pre-show dinner and were surprised there were a lot of empty tables. That was good for us, though, because we got seated on the window. Great views. By the team we left the place was bumping. Funny to see some older NYC guests look a little bewildered at this hip restaurant. The setting is a little unusual as it is sort of a shopping mall, but once inside we really enjoyed it, and again the view of Columbus Circle is great. English-inspired menu was pretty good but definitely not for everyone. Kids had steak and said it was best they've had. Too much butter for me, but they loved it. The chicken pie was delicious, particularly if you like mushrooms. Service was quite good and she explained the menu well. The pre-show menu is a little restrictive for the price but some good selections. Pretty expensive but we were splurging.

Stick to the London restaurant!

By Paul E |

I had eaten in the Bluebird restaurant in London on a few occasions, and was impressed by food, service and atmosphere. My expectations were high and, unfortunately, not met with this New York venue. I ordered fish and chips, which arrived in the form of two pieces of battered fish with side plate of chips and tartare sauce. One piece of fish was undercooked with a very gooey batter, and the other was overcooked and hard at one end. The plate of chips appeared good, but was dry to taste. Tartare was nice. Atmosphere was fine. Service was pretty prompt and efficient, but the server appeared very unhappy. Overall, very average. If I do return to a Bluebird, it will be the restaurant in London.

Horrible fish and chips

By Edward M |

I had looked at reviews prior to going and not promising when eater says worst new restaurant of 2018. But I always give a independent review. I ordered the fish and chips at the bar. Neither bartender had much experience and it was clear the manager was not what I would say is professional and at the level of any fine restaurant anywhere let alone NYC. Fish was supposed to be Cod but was either undercooked or hake chewy fish certainly not a flaky white fish. I told the new bartender and she laughed uncomfortably but did nothing about it. Manager not involved at all. I ate only a few bites because so bad. I ordered the dessert because I was so hungry I ordered sticky toffee pudding which I have to say was excellent! This is a poorly managed poorly conceived restaurant if you as a British owned restaurant can’t deliver Fish and Chips then through in the towel. Final insult is the thin fries that can never be done correctly because inevitably they will be over cooked. Bottom line I am so sick of bad restaurants poorly managed that survive by one time tourist traffic and this is one of those places. Please close and let a serious restauranteur take over space as provide servicewomen local community!

overall nice lunch

great setting and service but food was OK. Went to brunch, the entrees were very small portions and the food was cold.

Inspired Drinks & Desserts

By TourDeFork |

Beautiful decor and space. 3rd floor corner space with view of Christopher Columbus statue outside. DJ spinning very cool, laid back, background music. Great choices for tableware. Upscale, NYC, refined, polished vibe. Really top-notch, delightful gin & tonics!! Ordered two different versions and they both were gorgeous and delicious drinks! Everyone at the table oohed and aahhed. Also liked that they offered diners tastes of the wine by the glass which they ordered to confirm delight before pouring the rest of the glass. Nice service touch. We were there on a busy Saturday night: Service was good but would have felt more comfortable if server had introduced herself, runners and busboys had smiled, and waterglasses had been refilled more often. They were very swift to remove finished plates though. Interesting menu. Enjoyed the butternut squash soup very much. The rest of our dinner was solid ...until we got to the desserts which were all truly outstanding! The desserts were inspired, creative works of art with intense flavors and beautiful colors! You absolutely must order the ‘bluebird’; Bravo to the Pastry Chef! Definitely indulge and leave room for dessert here. :)

"A Touch of London in NYC"

By Ron D |

This was a beautiful dining experience with a great view. The dining area is divided into several sections and the decor is very nice and comfortable. Our party consisted of four adults and one 10 year old. We were here over the Thanksgiving holiday and we made reservations well in advance. My wife and I had never eaten here prior to this but my daughter and her husband come here on a regular basis. The menu is not what we consider a large one, but the variety of the food is more than enough. Between the four adults were thoroughly enjoyed the fish & chips and the dry aged cheeseburgers. We has starters of grilled scallops and Maya shrimps which really made the overall experience very enjoyable. This was an above average priced meal, however considering the location and the quality of the food it was definitely worth it. We are going to place this restaurant on our list of places we want to visit again.

poor afternoon tea for a restaurant with London in its name

By claire L |

I didn't want to complain about this, because the staff members were all so great. But our afternoon tea was overpriced and poorly prepared. Nothing seemed to have been created in-house; the pastries were gummy and the chicken curry was unrecognizable. The tea was made from a tea bag and only one was offered. The view was stunning, of course, but it is difficult to have what feels like an elegant experience when the table top is so sticky. Alas- very poor value and a big disappointment.

Fabulous food with breathtaking Central Park visw

By Yu Z |

We had our anniversary dinner here and it was really fabulous! The Central Park Columbus circle view was simply breathtaking, as the night fell and the city lit up. Service was amazing. Our waitress Angelina was so kind and sweet and attentive. She had amazing recommendations and made sure we had an unforgettable dinner experience. She made us feel so comfortable and fabulous! We had foie gras and starter. Omg it was better than those I had in Paris! It was paired with orange peels and sweetened carrots so both texture and flavor wise it created a perfect balance. For mains we had a halibut and pork chop. Halibut was very nicely pan seared. Really beautiful crunchy on the outside and soft and smooth inside. It had this amazing sauce that gave it a rich creamy flavor. The pork chop was totally a highlight, and indeed as Angelina said “out of the world delicious”. Both my husband and I are not really pork eaters but we fell in love with this perfectly cooked dish! The outside has a crunchy shell which was so tasty as it was cooked with the meat’s own grease. But the shell wasn’t too hard to bite. And then the meat so soft and well cooked on the inside. What’s so marvelous about it is it came with fresh plum sauce which was so refreshing! So you won’t feel the grease from the meat. On top it was beautifully decorated with shaved plum. Those were really fresh and juicy plums! The cabbage was also a nice touch. Perfectly roasted! Overall I think this pork chop is one of the best I ever had! The dessert we had was also so amazing! The chocolate benoffee looks so spotless on the outside but it had multiple layers inside. Very rich and delicate! Perfect pairing with the complimentary sparkling wines (thank you again Angelia and bluebird!). We are totally coming back.

Expensive for the level of service and food quality

By Diva_Fashionista5 |

Tried this place with my family today since we live in the neighborhood and frequent Landmarc in the Time Warner Center. Menu looked promising and no wait. Got seated, waited a bit and asked a waitress for the menu who was very nice - why the hostess didn’t just give us a menu at the start is beyond me. Nice atmosphere for brunch/lunch (maybe a bit noisy and loud) although it was around 130pm. Then we order our food - waitress was very nice and gave us recommendations since it was our first time. I ordered the avocado toast and onion/truffle soup, hubby ordered the ahi tuna, 11yr old daughter ordered the chicken pot pie off adult menu, 9yr old son ordered fish/chips off kids menu. We waited nearly 45 mins for our food! Waitress was nothing but nice and apologetic but there must be some problem in the kitchen operations. Our food came finally and it was COLD - yes, not even warm, but cold fish/chips and $36 plate of ahi tuna?? Not great. In the meantime while we waited for our food, 2-3 managers in suits walked around looking like they weren’t doing anything despite the long wait by several other parties for their food - really?? Didn’t even stop by to apologize for long wait etc. The waitresses and bus boys were fast and clearly doing the best they could trying to make the best of the situation. After a long and not great lunch, we just wanted to leave - my 8yr old said “I’m still hungry...can we just go to Landmarc?” As we walked out, I see 3 hostesses at the front doing nothing and a DJ....uh,not sure what this restaurant is doing but they have a ton of staff and super slow and cold food. Won’t be going back here — disappointing since service is friendly and food LOOKS good but doesn’t really live up to the price or appearance.

Hidden gem

This place is highly underrated. It’s lovely, has great views, fun vibe, good drinks, and the bartender Mark is wonderful. Highly recommend.

Nice Dinner

I visited recently as I knew Bluebird in Chelsea and I was wondering how it is going to be in New York Really liked Bluebird NYC.The place is beautiful. Food and service were on point. I highly recommend it.

Fancy restaurant

By Carina Fonseca |

For a fancy restaurant like this the beef was not amazing. The dessert was good but too big for me. It’s more a business kind of restaurant.

Delicious steaks but air conditioning too cold

By mac6dog |

We ate here to celebrate our birthdays on our recent trip to NYC. Beautifully decorated with friendly staff. We were happy to be shown to a table by the window, even though it was the evening we could see the final finishers from the marathon. Unfortunately the air conditioning was set to uncomfortably cold, everyone sitting by the windows began putting on scarfs and coats - the staff didn’t notice. We had began our meal so didn’t ask to move - the rest of the restaurant was much warmer! We had the steaks - which probably the best I have ever had but they were very expensive and arrived without fries , we were worried that we had read the menu wrong and mentioned the waiter which sent them into a panic as they had forgotten them. We still loved the experience and the atmosphere and would recommend as the food was delicious.

Underwhelming Experience

By Stuart S |

We met friends for dinner before a show, and the food and service were a mixed bag from poor to good. We arrived early, and they sat us in the bar area with a very attentive waiter. Once our friends arrived, we moved to the dining area, which was full and lively. Salads were ok. Chicken pie was good as was the fish and chips. Tuna was a small portion and Mac and cheese was greasy and not good. Food was generally under-seasoned. The waitress was friendly, but three times in the evening the wait staff either delivered things to our table that we didn’t order or delivered the wrong food to the wrong person. There was a much too long delay between salads and delivery of the mains, For the product delivered, it was relatively expensive and not the evening we had expected.

Great location and great food

By Gareth W |

We found the restaurant atmosphere to be warm and inviting. The views over Central Park are stunning. The service was good and we were not rushed. The food was well presented and tasted good. The potion sizes were also adequate. We visited this restaurant on Saturday so we chose our food from the fixed price menu which was appetizer, entree with tea or coffee for a price of $35 which we thought was reasonable for the location and upmarket feel of the restaurant. I have 2 areas that I believe could be improved: Our server was not very knowledgeable of the items on the menu and I had to question him a number of times regarding a double charge on my bill. Secondly there was a saxophone player who was excellent. I found the music created a great ambiance when she played from the gallery however when she played as she walked through the restaurant the music was too loud and a little uncomfortable on the ears. Other than these too minor issues, I would definitely return.

Good Surprise!

By Lucie A |

We went to this restaurant for lunch and were pleasantly surprised with the quality of food and service. Will definitely return on our next trip to NYC.

Service was great, but really, no Vegan Options

By DisappointedCouple47 |

I thought that an establishment such as Bluebird London in NYC would surely have at least one or two signature dishes that were vegan friendly/healthy (no saturated fat, cholesterol, and animal protein), compassionate (no animal would have to suffer or die) and easy on the planet (the most destructive industry facing the planet today is animal agriculture). Unfortunately, this is not the case at the moment. I gave the restaurant a two out of five score because the wait staff was so good (genuinely friendly, warm, and attentive). Come on Bluebird London, please consider adding delicious, healthier, compassionate and more responsible/sustainable Vegan/Plant based entrees to your menu! It makes sense on every level, including economically (Veganism is one of the fastest growing consumer movements/groups in the US)!

Great Columbus Circle Spot!

By NYCenteroftheUniverse |

Bluebird London A really fun, bright spot on the 3rd floor of The Time Warner building. The menu is a bit limited, but all the food was very good. While we expected a more English pub atmosphere, the ambiance was much more pleasant, bright and civilized. The service was very attentive, very warm and accommodating. The truffle risotto (no, not British pub food) was delicious as was the beef Wellington. The juicy, perfectly cooked burger was also devoured. The side salad was fresh Boston lettuce with hazelnuts and was excellent as well. The side of broccolini was good. The rich, dark chocolate sorbet was yummy. The wine and champagne choices are well curated and the cocktails are inventive. We truly enjoyed Bluebird for the food, the service and the atmosphere (a triple threat, a trifecta) and we will enthusiastically return.

Incredibly disappointing...

By Kaylie W |

The whole experience was incredibly underwhelming & very disappointing. Some real improvements on customer service are essential. We were greeted by 3 people at the check-in desk, 2 of which were cloakroom but failed to take our coats for a good 5 minutes & we then waited a total of 10 minutes to be taken to our table. During our dining experience we went through 3 different waitresses, all of which came to inform us (& repeatedly interrupt us) to tell us they were leaving and had finished their shift. Drinks took far too long to arrive & when they did my wine order was incorrect. Food wasn't too bad for the price we paid (NY restaurant week menu - so discounted) but there was a real lapse in momentum with the starters coming super fast & the main taking an eternity. Wouldn't recommend & definitely won't be returning.

A Joke! What a mess this place

By theoneandonlyArnold |

A Joke! What a mess this place is! Awful table in the entrance corridor, then waiting for drinks menu 12’ after reminding 2x, after 30’ my burger still not here. Decided to leave as waiter said it takes at least 10 more minutes. At least glass of wine went on house. Observed that several tables around me also complained..... AVOID IT!,,

A must try for afternoon tea!

By 1979Traveler |

We went for afternoon tea. I was visiting my two daughters and we decided to try something different. It was fabulous! The tea and food were all simply delicious! It was a one of those things that you will always remember!

Sacrifice the food for the view

By cand0r2016 |

I went there with another friend for a casual dinner. As you might expect, given the location with a great view (the place is large though and your actual view may mjuch depend on where exactly you are seated) and prime location the place is pricey even by NY standards. I had a "crab" something which was an odd combination of the crab with avocado and other stuff; neither the texture nor the taste were convincing. The optics were nice but it left you wonder "what was the chef thinking". For the main course I had halibut which usually tends to be terrific in NYC (in good restaurants). It cost $48 (plus tip and tax of course) and I felt sorry for the fish that had to give its life for ending up overcooked and having a texture more akin to tilapia than halibut. That must not happen at a decent restaurant let alone at this price. My friend had Atlantic cod and liked it. the highlight was desert: a sorbet which was beyond your usual sorbet experience.

Birthday Meal

In New York for a trip to celebrate a friends birthday. The weather was awful and we decided to change plans and go for a meal. Stunning views despite the weather, fabulous food. Would well recommend

Very weird hostess interaction detracted from tasty lunch

By Leo M |

I was in the mood for a light lunch and cocktail at Time Warner Center and decided on Bluebird. But apparently I hadn't actually decided - I first had to play a game of 20 questions with the hostess to have her decide where in Bluebird I should sit - lounge, bar, or main dining room. Which turned out to be exceptionally odd since the restaurant was more or less empty. I could have sat anywhere I wanted (and should have been offered that choice). Anyway, I was given a seat at the bar which turned out fine since I had the full attention of the excellent bartender. The scallop ceviche was quite tasty and exactly what I was in the mood for. Along with a superb Gin and Tonic, the All-Rounder. The service from the bartender was exemplary and the hostess atrocious. The decor varies somewhat wildly between the three areas but high end finishes are present throughout.

wide and disappointing

By Peter M |

Great bar area and attentive, professional bar staff - things went downhill thereafter. Slovenly service, moist shrimp tempura, dull cheese souffle. The shrimp & scallop curry was pretty good but for the $32 entree price, I would expect something tastier.

Amazing View, Outstanding Design, Dwarfed by Bland Food.

By The Global Foodie |

I immediately fell in love with the mod design of this bistro on the 3rd floor of the Time Warner Center in Columbus Circle. Having lived in London, of course I was hopeful about the experience ahead of me. I was meeting a business colleague there for breakfast very early so it was a huge plus that the coffee was very good and they kept pouring without being prompted. Another plus is that they open before most of the other restaruants in the building. The view (pictured) another plus! So now the food.....nothing to really write about I'm afraid. I ordered the omelet. That is literally all I got on the plate, save a piece of toast. There was no care to put a side salad, or vieggie. There was zero plating, and it was bland. Would I return? Maybe - for another meal to see if lunch or dinner was tastier, but for nothing else. Afterall, we know the view is the view, and the view will be the same at the restaurant on the 4th floor above.

Great experience!!!

By Martin O |

Came here while visiting New York and it did not disappoint. The space is recently remodeled and comes with a nice view over Columbus circle/Central Park. The food was nicely presented and very tasty. Service was very pleasant and on point. Would go back when visiting New York again.

Afternoon Tea

By julierayc73 |

Tea time with the family was simply amazing. We had a party of 6 people with a perfect view of Columbus Circle and Central Park. We had several tea towers with tasty finger sandwiches, scones, and an assortment of baked desserts.

Mediocre

By beth w |

My husband and I had dinner at Bluebird tonight. We waited a bit for our server to take our cocktail order but not too bad. My husbands martini was teeny tiny but good For appetizers we had the burrata with favs beans and the gin cured salmon. Both were delicious. The bread loaf was hot and very good We both ordered the Dover sole for an entree. ($65.00). It was not hot. Barely room temperature The vegetables weren’t hot nor were the French fries. We asked our server to have our fish warmed up but it didn’t come back any hotter We shared sticky pudding for dessert. That was delicious and hot Jay our server was very nice. Clearly felt bad but not able to do much to make it better. It was not his fault It was a $300 plus dinner for two. We won’t go back. There are far better options in NYC

Great food and fantastic atmosphere

Great food and fantastic service. Son had the lobster roll and fries -great. My husband had the rissoto and I had the truffles pasta. All were great. We splurged on a holiday glass of wine with lunch (nice my the glass selection)

Decent

By MarC25 |

We were curious. How can a restaurant receive two zero reviews from Eater and NYT when it opened? Our experience turned out better than expected if a bit mixed. I will start with the good ones. Yes, our greeter did make eye contact and engaged us in conversation on our way to our seats. The dining area is vast and cozy, a welcome reprieve if you are tired shopping in Columbus Center. The food is good for the most part and truly how they do it in London, namely the fish and chips, chicken pie and sticky toffee pudding. However, servings are small which may make the place seem more expensive even if pricing is on par with mid-range restaurants in the area like Landmarc. There is an area for snacks at the front if you are looking for a quick bite. Overall, we will probably be back to try their Sunday Roast one of these days.

Good Brunch Option in Columbus Circle

By cja2k1 |

The decor is beautiful and relaxing, and the menu options had something for everyone. We were happy overall, but it felt like the restaurant had just opened and they were still going through some growing pains. Our server was really nice and knew his stuff, but everyone else (food runners, bussers) who came to the table seemed confused. Examples: plates were placed in front of the wrong people; we had to keep asking for things (toast was supposed to come with one dish but it wasn't brought to the table; three of us had dishes that were supposed to be served with maple syrup, but they only brought one little container of it, and when we asked for more, they brought just one more little container. (Was there a syrup shortage we didn't know about? Or was it a container shortage?) Cocktails were fair, but uninspired: to serve a basic Bloody Mary without anything special about is fine, but it better be an amazing Bloody Mary. Mine was OK, and it came with one celery stick as a garnish. (Yawn...) Otherwise, the food was tasty so kudos to the kitchen. One more funny thing was the music: it was fine until it became so loud that we couldn't even hear one another around the table. Turns out that a DJ started playing the music, but he wasn't even mixing or doing anything fun -- it just sounded like someone's iPod playing 80s music, hooked up to a speaker with the volume turned up too high. I liked Bluebird London and would definitely give it a second chance. Hopefully some of the kinks will have been worked out by then!

Nice atmosphere, pleasant dining experience

By RekhaK |

Bluebird London is conveniently located on the 3rd floor in the Shops at Columbus Circle. If you are shopping in the area and want to grab dinner afterwards, this is an ideal spot to go to. When you walk in you will feel the lovely ambience and beautiful decor. I consider the menu to be basic, “comfort food”, not exotic. I really enjoyed the gnocchi - the proportion was perfect and it was flavorful. For dessert, I recommend the sticky toffee...It is very sweet and very rich but very delicious. Service was very nice as well. They also have a cafe in the front and have an Afternoon Tea menu.

Almost makes it

Very sleek restaurant in the Time Warner complex. Clever scene place with a very interesting sculpture at the bar. Our server was knowledgeable and seemed to enjoy telling you how wonderful everything was, but she did not listen very well. Felt a little pushed. Two of us shared the beef wellington for two. I'm a fairly big eater but it was enough for three or four people. It was a work of art, cooked to perfection. The only thing lacking was taste and some soul. Our starters were good, but not great. I had the cured salmon which was only good.

Brunch for Lunch

By Paul G |

The London "mod" design of this large bistro at the top of the Time Warner Center features a bright patterns and textures enclosing a variety of seating types (small banquettes, long banquettes opposite chairs, very uncomfortable Saarinen (knockoffs?) chairs around square, marble-topped tables. The weekday lunch menu is actually a brunch menu. The cod was perfectly prepared in a light butter sauce, the bread delicately seasoned with rosemary, and the desserts good, if not exceptional. Be sure to ask for a seat at the window when you reserve--not only for the view of Columbus Circle but also because tables are otherwise too closely spaced. Otherwise, the host will likely not ask where you prefer to sit and will, even when the restaurant is empty, seat you right next to another party.

Things will get better

By marciapurcell33 |

We arrived the second day of opening. Kept waiting for a half hour because the waitstaff was being trained in the dining room. No offer of a drink to pass the time. When we said we had a show to go to we were seated. Took extra time for service to arrive and get organized. That being said, a free glass of proseco was offered and the food was good. Cheese straws could be more cheesy. Some items listed on website are only available in the bar cafe-- for example the fish and chips which I had planned to order. The restrooms were not functioning. We barely made it to the ballet on time. I think with time things will improve. Restaurant is lovely with great location/view.

Small portions of okay food in a beautiful setting

By yaruss |

The most remarkable thing about this restaurant is the small portions. The chicken I ordered came with cut asparagus and I doubt if they used more than one stalk of asparagus. The chicken was very bland and I think the waiter brought over much needed salt and pepper in anticipation of the need. Other than that, the prices were sky high (which you can tell from looking at the menu) but the setting and decor was quite nice.

There are better places

By Kazzadownie |

Very small portions and seriously expensive. Having spent $500 on a Christmas Day dinner, I was hoping for more than a teaspoon of potatoes and teaspoon of vegetables with my steak. Sticky toffee pudding good big it took 1 hour 50 minutes from arriving to getting our starter.

Wednesday dinner

By BAR |

Was visiting with family living in NYC & we were in town on vacation. The food was delicious. Was satisfied with the quality of food but disappointed in the quantity because it was very good. The service was average, not very attentive. The ambience was very nice & overlooks Columbus Circle. We would come back if in town.

Excellent family meal!

By RagsKP94 |

We were here after a matinee show with our family of 10. We had a reservation (thankfully) and were seated right away. Our server was friendly and very knowledgeable on the menu and drinks. She was quick and helpful. We felt very well taken care of. The food was unbelievable! Many people don't appreciate English food and you definitely have to have a taste for it to enjoy Bluebird London. This is a very popular group of restaurants in London, but not for all Americans. As a party of 10 we were able to try nearly all the appetizers (tartar was my favorite) and many different entrees. We also had all the desserts. The bottom line was that everything on the menu was great. We will be back!

Good casual quick bite in NYC

By Griffs |

Stopped in for a quick bite after going through the nearby Christmas market. Good place for a casual family meal, very busy. Food and drinks were satisfying with varied menu options, service was friendly and efficient.

Very good indeed

By Nicknack51 |

We really enjoyed our visit to this recently opened New York eaterie. It’s lively, buzzy, friendly (note to people like us of a certain age ... a bit noisy). Stand out dishes for us: lobster and shrimp cocktail was outstanding; duck main course, monkfish curry, rice pudding - my husband LOVED this - and sticky toffee pudding. Service was perfect without being intrusive. On the pricey side for out-of-towners but I’d definitely go back. Charlie the manager was very welcoming as were all the staff we encountered. I think it’s going to do well.

Thanksgiving Menu

By Lehner |

I went here for my first thanksgiving dinner in NY. Like everywhere you have to book a table early. I arrived earlier and there was already a table ready for me. It was a buffet with a lot of choice. Everything was fresh and good and also some exclusive food like oyster. Very friendly staff and a good and efficient one. They have a small but also a good choice of open wine. Very good price/performance ratio!

What a waste

By TE |

Cute setting and good service...but wow, that food was mediocre...and should've been MUCH better for the prices being asked. Go elsewhere--NYC is full of better restaurants.

Colorful and cute

By ldjs |

Very pretty frilly place, almost Alice in Wonderland feel. Great views, friendly service. Brunch time was busy, food is presented beautifully. Bird cages looked super appealing.Cool place. One of our orders was forgotten and required a reminder, but was later provided on the house, which was nice. Noted that this was reported also in other reviews. Sounds like this aspect of service needs improvement, but overall very memorable place for brunch. Recommend to friends, groups, couples.

Comfort Food Done Well

By DNARNA2014 |

Cauliflower (sliced thin, lightly blanched) and raisin salad - outstanding and addictive. Very well done beef Wellington. Wait staff hospitable and warm. Would certainly return.

Good service and interesting menu

By ResidentBrit |

The menu is sort of English based. The service was attentive, the food came quickly and the wines by the glass very good indeed.

Disappointing special occasion

By Mama_Five1 |

Firstly the food was excellent. We had the set menu Steak Tartare and Striploin (fatty but to be expected) and Sticky Toffee Pudding. We thoroughly enjoyed the food, there was a nice busy ambience and feel to the restaurant. We were close enough to a window to have a view of the park. Visiting from England and Abu Dhabi we were celebrating my daughters 21st birthday. Every other place we have been to in New York have acknowledged this and we have loved the welcoming feel. The Bluebird dinner was the real big event for us and we were soo disappointed with the service. We were greeted with a ‘Yes’ I almost wanted to apologise for being there. The maitre d walked away without speaking to us - we kind of figured we should follow! Most restaurants begin with a Good Evening and Welcome at the very least. A waiter asked if we wanted water (we later noticed everyone else having tap water) and swiftly brought a bottle of still. No smile, no niceties, no welcome. Next our server came to us, perfectly amicable and perfunctory but no introduction or welcome. We ordered our food and drinks. Food came very quickly as starters were both cold. I asked a waiter if we could have our drinks, he explained they were busy. I explained this was a special occasion and so far it had been less than special. To his credit a few minutes later the drinks appeared. We received our steaks and the manger noted we had no steak knives, which she quickly corrected. Mains cleared and deserts promptly brought out. When we had finished our desert our server asked if we wanted anything or just the check! By this time I was totally incensed. Let alone feel this was a special occasion, we were now feeling an inconvenience and she just wanted us to leave. 250 dollars for 2 - I at least expect to feel welcome. Perhaps I am wrong to expect a little more personalised attention at a restaurant of this standard. Clearly it is just a get them in and out and take their money business model. I did not leave a tip and funnily enough no one asked me if everything was ok for me to put my thoughts across at the end of the evening. A shame that such a special occasion will be tainted by a lack of attention and personal experience.

Amazing Service, Great food

By Ron C |

We were there to celebrate our daughter's birthday. Our server, Dillan, was amazing. The restaurant provided a complimentary beverage and a small birthday treat. Every dish was perfect. Highly recommend this jewel. Great view of Colombia Circle from their third floor windows.

Good breakfast not good value

By Ieuan R |

Called in for breakfast - restaurant is slightly out of the way in a corner of the third floor. The English breakfast was very tasty. Staff were very attentive but our server was stumped when asked whether they could provide a vegetarian breakfast. He offered to enquire as to whether they could remove the meat from a standard breakfast and that is what they did. Whilst the food was very good, I do not feel it was worth the price.

Delightful brunch on a dreary day.

By thomasg42 |

I have to say …this was unexpectedly a fantastic experience. Food was excellent. We were there for Sunday brunch. I had the Croque Madame and my wife had the Avocado Toast. Both were excellent as were the piping hot Truffle fries. Our server, Shaun….was super friendly and made sure we had everything we needed in spite of running non-stop through a busy dining room. The restaurant has a great vibe and beautiful setting overlooking Columbus Circle. Front desk staff in desperate need of a personality as that’s where the customer experience begins. We will be back.

Average Fare

By Antionio10 |

The meal here was average, nothing bad, nothing great. There were five of us each ordering something different so we got a good sampling of the menu. The Berkshire Pork schnitzel was a little overcooked. The Atlantic Halibut was okay. There were no standouts on the menu. This was not the case at he Bluebird in London where I have eaten on several occasions. Here service could have been better. Waiters were fairly inattentive. When we booked, on the Open Table reservation we noted that we were celebrating a birthday. No acknowledgement. No candle on a slice of cake. When I mentioned this to the front desk and showed them the reservation they went to fetch the manager. After 15 minutes of back and forth, no manager came. We left.

Best Hollandaise ever!!

Enjoyed my crab omelette that was rolled French style. Fries were great too. Service impeccable. We will be back!!

Excellent customer service

By Joan |

Everyone’s food came out but my order came out 15 min later than everyone else’s. The manager made it right by comping my meal and giving a round of wine to the table. In my opinion that says a lot about the restaurant. Kudos! I would highly recommend this restaurant. Customer service is on point!

The view is the best!

By Diningman |

This is one of the most terrible experiences I have had during the last three years. I ordered the Sunday night special as well as one of my friends. The other one ordered a fish dish. We got a table with a view over central park. The staff is quite untrained for arestaurant in the price range which was more obvious when we ordered and had problems answering our questions. We got our meals and and directly we noticed How extremly salty everything was. Two us like the taste of salt but this was very salty. Well we hungry and eat but reliased that the food was way to salty to be eatabel. The vegetabels were the same. One of the head servers came by and ask How everything was. We never were abel ti answer before he was gone. After 5-10 minutes another head waiter came and asked the same question and then we git a chance to complaint. He was insulted over our compkaints and left. He never returned and handle our complaints. He let it all be handle of the servants. I most say this food and service was under anything acceptabel and especially in NYC. It is even an insult ti english Sunday rosts with Yorkshire pudding. I think this restaurant should be closed asap. Today the view is the best!

Lovely Restaurant with Great Views, Food and Friendly Service

Very good food. Good steak and sides. Nice desserts. For dessert, try the Sticky toffee & date pudding and "The Bluebird". Friendly staff.

Nice quite corner in "The Shops at Columbus Circle" at the Columbus Circles

By Yeuming Chou |

Nice quite corner in "The Shops at Columbus Circle" at the Columbus Circles at the upper west side. Big and comfortable seat for everyone. We ordered one drip coffee and one cappuccino for our tea time. We had a nice time to watch crowded people walked by. I will come back for New Year!

A Wonderful British-Influenced Find in TWC

By globaltravelkid |

We loved our Sunday Brunch experience with a wonderful table #505...we couldn't have asked for more. Low Point: British desserts include sticky toffee pudding but have never included Eton Mess/Pavlova-- a sin of omission; Can't get a side of beans as served on the full English breakfast; no veggie Full English breakfast option offered. Unique Point: loose leaf teas; separate book for alcohol, and crazy combinations like our red hummus topped with apples and no complex carbs at all. High Point: our view and the happy, bright, upscale decor.

I recommend

By Steven G |

Great preparations, fantastic service, Go for the view. We had a really enjoyable birthday dinner. A bit expensive, so we went on restaurant week. Luckily we got a window seat. So cozy on a snowy January night.

Restaurant with a view and point of view

By Jon H |

Stylish spot with a great view and point of view. Classy maitre d found us a table. Bar tender made a great G&T. Food was good, and not remotely British.

Not a patch on London!

By 85JonathanP |

Sorry but this place is not a patch on the sister place in London. Food was ok - a bit bland. Service was hit and miss - one minute all over you and the next you could not get the attention of a member of staff at all - very inconsistent.the criwd are rowdy and wuite o lot of British ex-pats - never a good sign!

THIS IS THE PLACE FOR SUNDAY BRUNCH

By David S |

Our daughter who lives in NYC made a belated Mothers Day brunch reservation and we all were totally impressed by the decor, service and most of all the food. The restaurant from the 3rd floor of Columbus Circle mall does not look like much when entering from the mall but as the hostess walks you back your eyes immedietly move to the expansive bar and then to the dining room decor and then finally to the Central Park views. Absolutley perfect! The French toast is a knock out- perfectly balanced between sweet and savory. The omelette was a knock out as well again perfectly presented. In both cases the portions offered were right. I would suggest to order the scones, a true British delight as was the small bread sampler. A limited menu but covers the neccesary from omlettes, pancakes, full english breakfast, french toast and cold breakfast offerings. Our server Linda was gracious and also appeared when needed as did her assistants. We were not rushed and our water glasses and coffee cups were always refilled when needed. Now we are interested in trying the original Bluebird in the Chelsea area of London as this was designed by the famous Terrance Conran.

Just ok= not worth the price

By Openstudio |

The decor is lovely. The tables are spaced well so that conversations are not a problem. The staff is very friendly and welcoming. We had dinner. My husband's steak was tough and raw. My fish was super greasy so I ate it without the crust. We waited forever for the dessert. It was the worst one I have ever tried to eat. It was the chocolate sundae. It tasted like expresso coffee without sugar. Two bites were all it took. They have a lot of competition in NYC. We most likely won't return.

Awesome Drag Brunch

By Susan K |

Went here for the Drag Tea/Brunch today. Can’t say enough about the performers as well as the restaurant. Peachez and Jax put their hearts, souls, and bodies into what turned out to be close to 2 1/2 hours of pure fabulousness! They are both so talented and also really kind. They talked to everyone so newbies and veterans to drag shows alike were comfortable and having an absolute blast. We would happily see them again! As for the food, we just had the food that came with the tea, we didn’t order anything else. But those who did seemed to enjoy it. The food we had was very plentiful and all delicious. It was advertised to be mostly pastries which it was. The quality was excellent. We have never been here before but it definitely made us want to come back and try it on a regular day. The drinks looked amazing too. We also would love to come back to the drag brunch again too. I am sure all the performers they get are great. But we would definitely love seeing Peachez and Jax again because it would guaranteed be a phenomenal experience! Special thanks to Anthony S., the manager, for finding a way to squeeze us in, especially in a seating arrangement that worked best for us. Can‘t wait to return!

Happiness at the Bluebird

By R Vincent |

There is a restaurant on the 3rd floor of the Time Warner Center at 10 Columbus Circle in Manhattan called Bluebird London NYC that I wanted to check out. I had about an hour for lunch before a meeting and it was recommended by a friend who said they had new management since a poor review in the Times last year. I am glad I did; the restaurant is lovely with beautiful, tasteful décor. The staff was prompt, friendly and efficient; 10 seconds at the Maitre’ D’ station and then I was seated quickly and my table overlooked not only Columbus Circle but Central Park and my favorite skyline. Staff was at my table within a minute with the menu, my choice of water, and the cocktail menu. Although next time I will try some of their specialties, this time I went conventional with a classic cheeseburger and iced tea. I didn’t want to risk taking too long but it turned out I could have ordered anything because their kitchen is very efficient. About 10 minutes later I had my meal and a minute after that my server checked in to see if everything was to my liking. During the entire meal I was pleasantly surprised at receiving ‘fine dining’ level food and service at very affordable prices ($23 for the perfectly sized cheeseburger and the best fries I have had in NYC – including Café Lux’s ‘frites’). I ordered medium rare and it was exactly medium rare, and delicious. I expected to ‘sample’ the fries but I ate them all. I even did the ‘napkin test’ where I put a fry in the napkin for 10 seconds to see if there is oily residue – not even a hint. Crisp, warm and simply delicious. Ordered, served and finished in 20 minutes; I had time to spare. Server checked back three times but very unobtrusively. I was pleasantly surprised at the free wifi speed. The BluebirdLondon is NYC at its best – great food, premium service, courteous staff (neither rushing about nor chatting among themselves in a corner – clearly the focus is on customer satisfaction). Even the tables and chairs are comfortable but sturdy; solid and firm, great for 10 minutes or two hours. With 30 minutes to spare I decided to splurge on an espresso and their newest desert: Banofee Trilfe - it arrived in 4 minutes and it was a perfect confection. The combination of the crunchy biscuit, the chocolate crème, the bananas and whipped cream belied its small size and created an enormous taste. Their espresso was the perfect pairing. I do not write online reviews often; I did one for Pier 72 because I was there with family earlier but generally I hold out for the most notable and BlueBirdLondon.NYC is definitely deserving of that title.

Tea time

A wonderful time for tea. Nice selection of food and tea to enjoy a relaxing time with friends and family. Overlooks Columbus Circle so the view helps enhance the experience.

Great restaurant and everything about it

Everything was great about this experience. Wonderful atmosphere, fantastic service, delicious steak. Our waiter was great, Jose as far as I remember.

Groups get overpriced quotes

By Tiffany A |

I understand that restaurants may be desperate to get  people to return back to their venues due to COVID but that should be all the reason for exemplary service.  I reached out to Bluebird for a group reservation for 14 professional women celebrating women's month. Due to the group size the planner mandated that we have the $75 prix fixe menu. 1st Issue: planner did not ask which appetizers, entrees and desserts we wanted to choose. 2nd Issue: if I ordered the appetizer, entree and dessert a la carte, the most expensive items totaled $67. Why is the prix fixe more expensive than ordering the same items a la carte? I informed the planner I want to sub out the meal options she chose for more appealng items on the larger menu. 3rd Issue: Bluebird priced the prix fixe with the new options I chose at $90. Meanwhile the most expensive items still totaled $67 if purchased a la carte! I complained and the planner said the upcharge is to ensure everyone's food comes out at the same time. That's bizarre! Is she implying Bluebird is not used to handling groups?  And why is there a $63 administrative charge in the contract?? Essentially Bluebird tried to charge $23 more per prix fixe meal per person plus the $63 admin fee equating to a $385 upcharge. Disappointing and poor service for a restaurant that I perceived as prestigious!!

re Overrated

By Heavenzdesiangel |

Being new to NYC food scene and recommended by eater, I was really looking forward to our meal and left feeling very disappointed. Located in the time warner building, some of the tables have good views of columbus circle. First off, the service needs much improvement. We only got our drink menus 10 to 15 minutes after sitting down. When our waiter finally came by, he didn't even bother introducing himself to us. He did make a few recommendations for dinner and we ended up getting the London cure smoked salmon, butternut squash soup along with the Beef wellington to share. Although the London cure smoked salmon was delicious, it did not come with any bread. It was a little weird to eat it alone. The butternut squash soup needed more salt! The beef wellington was the biggest disappointment of all as I had never had it before and was really looking forward to it! My husband eat half of it anyway because he was starving. The beef inside was flavorless, crust was not very flaky and you could barely taste the "truffle" that was supposed to come with the sauce. The waiter did not bother to check in on us until much later and when I did mention my disappointment, he didn't seem to care. Also, not your typical younger, trendier NYC crowd. If you do go, I would avoid the beef wellington which is not very good and overpriced.

We went for sunday brunch. Food was very good. But when we finished, they wanted us to go!! They just did everything so we could stand up and go.

Elegant ambience, excellent menu

By WindsorTudor |

Upscale, elegant ambience - a refined experience @ Columbus Circle. British-inspired fare - call it elevated comfort food. Service was somewhat scattered, unfortunately; our first waiter finished his shift, and we inherited a second one. But overall, it's all about the sophisticated setting with stunning views.

Mixed Christmas day lunch

By Kevin0561 |

We were disappointed with the overall experience on Christmas day. We booked based on reviews and the advertised Christmas day menu which included a pheasant dish and sticky toffee pudding. We, (and 2 tables beside us, whom we did not know), arrived on the day to find that pheasant was not on the menu and when asked, the staff all said the same thing, "I don't know, I will have to check" but they never did. In fact that was the stock answer for every question asked. Also, if we had not been observing other tables we wouldn't have known that the wrong sauce was poured at table on one dish. When pointed out they did correct it but overall the staff seemed to be lacking in training. The venison was outstanding but lacked vegetables and the sticky toffee pudding was excellent. Unfortunately, the service was not at a level one would expect when paying those prices. We were also surprised to find that they had no ruby/vintage port on offer to compliment the cheese plate.

Relaxing oasis

By clayt0np |

We were at the Bluebird for Sunday brunch recently. We loved the relaxed, unhurried atmosphere. We had the Greek yogurt with fruit and an omelette. Both were excellent. Staff was attentive, but not invasive. It was a joy to sit and enjoy our food and coffee in a space where the tables weren't so close, and the vibe was pleasantly bustling, but not noisy. Prices are similar to other restaurants of this type in the area.

Spring Time in NYC

By Chuck H |

Lovely little surprise at Lincoln Center. The staff was great, food was good and will definitely return. Looking forward to trying the tea service, best to make a reservation. They have sister restaurants in London and Hudson Yard. The steak tartar was a bit on the spicy side but good. The fish & chips were crispy and flaky.

Good morning!

By MimiManhattan |

A mid-morning business meeting here with two colleagues, when Starbucks is out of the question and the diner on Ninth Ave just isn't right. A great choice: cheerful, professional staff and pretty setting, and each of us very happy with our very diverse menu choices. I'd been to the London location when it opened years ago and was delighted to see this addition to the TW Center and the neighborhood, which sorely needed another option like this.

More Dodo than Bluebird

By VonUngernSternberg |

So-so food. Slow slow service. So much choice in NYC, why pay good money for this mediocrity. Only saving grace is the wonderful Dante at the front desk. To be fair, it was early days, but if the service doesn’t improve it wont last. New York does not take prisoners on service.

Mr concerned diner

By Alan 325 |

Arrived at peak lunch time on a Saturday without a reservation. After a lovely day in central park. Were advised 20 minute wait. No problem we were happy too. We got our table and I was impressed with decor and general atmosphere of the restaurant. We decided to order the Prix fixe. I had the granola, my son had the fruit plate and his girlfriend ordered the pastry option. The granola was delicious as was the fruit. The pastry strangely was a croissant. Delicious as it was. For mains myself and my son had the chicken burger which was beautiful. My son's girlfriend had a pasta dish, which she had asked for a non meat version. The very helpful waiter checked with kitchen and said was no problem. My issue with this restaurant on this day was what I observed around my table. I watched vacant tables uncleared for long periods. I listened to mangers apologize to customers for forgotten orders. Food orders being left on trays beside the bar as the server did not know what to do or where to go. No effect floor management in evidence. I waited 15 minutes for a coffee. I have never left a review in my life but after a visit to the rest room, which was not shall we say presentable. I was irked. Then I got my bill which was not as advertised as 35 per head. Like anybody that has worked in the catering services we can all have bad days. Maybe it was one of theirs. The venue deserves better.

Not conducive to solo lunch

By Erin L |

Stopped in to Bluebird for lunch today. Was seated in Gallery area with all the young families and babies. Solo traveller, there was lots of place in front of restaurant and the bar only had one person seated. Poor service ruined experience for me.

Amazing experience

By Ksusha |

Went to bluebird at columbus circle to celebrate my friend anniversary. We reserved a table and were seated by the window so we can admire beautiful view. Our server was Jose very polite, professional, helpful, friendly and knowledgeable gentleman who provided us with outstanding service. A++. We ate lobster bucatini and steak. Food was delicious. We had some tea as well - earl gray and jasmine. Deserts were tasty too. We had Great time and planning to come back again to get fish snd chips.
