Meet a good friend for breakfast at Bó Cà phê during a recent visit to the city. Opted for the omelette that came with a side of kale and beet salad. Very nice and no frills place to hang out with friends. Will visit again.

Good dishes and very fairly priced, we loved the french and South East Asia dishes. Friendly waitstaff and quick good service !

Bo Caphe seems to be a Vietnamese restaurant trying hard to be something else. It is long and narrow with many small tables crowded together, and a rather peculiar eclectic menu. We were seated next to a table of loud young women that the French waiter was hitting on rather aggressively. Fortunately, he was not our waiter or we would have felt rather neglected. We both ordered a bowl of Pho; the chicken version that I ordered was fragrant, fresh and tasty and very satisfying on a cold winter day. My daughter ordered the beef Pho and complained about the large chunks of grayish colored tough meat which she sort of had to gnaw on because they were larger than bite size. I also ordered a $5 glass of tea, which was never refilled. So basically we paid $40 for 2 bowls of soup and one small iced tea - probably typical pricing for a lunch in NYC, but in this case not a particularly memorable meal.

We loved the food there. The flavors are very strong and blend wonderfully with the dishes. I had the beef truffle rice bowl, my children had the bo burger and the beef sandwich and loved it. The lemonade has ginger and basil leaves which makes for an interesting concoction.

Great restaurant with super friendly staff. Started with 3 different Bao.. yummy! Than Vegan Pho and Beef truffle rice bowl... what an amazing experience. Come and try!

Great energy in this packed little Vietnamese-French Cafe in Soho. Our party of four (including two teens) arrived around 2pm on a Saturday for brunch and ordered four bubble tees, one noodle soup, one omelette, and two scrambled eggs with salmon. When over thirty minutes had passed since we'd been seated, and parties seated after us began receiving their meals, we began wondering what was up, and started asking the staff about our order. We were brushed off by the busy waitress, who didn't seem to notice anything amiss. Another 15 minutes later and we were told "5 more minutes". Indeed in 5 minutes the three egg dishes arrived, but it took another flag down of the waitress and 5+ more minutes to get the soup. Frustrated but hungry, we dug in and we're disappointed to find the dishes bland and uninspiring. In short, nothing special and certainly nothing worth waiting an hour for. Disappointed.

We came across this new spot through Seated, and we weren't disappointed. We ordered one beef banh mi and one chicken banh mi. Both were very flavorful and the bread (French baguette) was very crunchy. Service was great and the decor was nice. Thanks for having us!

Great little restaurant with brilliant staff. We had edamame and 2 salads. Everything was fresh and tasty and we would return.

The staff is nice, the place is welcoming, and the food is delicious. Will definitly come back. The desserts are super good! :) Thanks

Went with a friend for lunch, and enjoyed the Classic Pho noodle soup and the Veggie Bo Bun. The food was hot and fresh, and attractively presented. Tasted good too. Pretty reasonable for a City Sunday lunch too.

Turned off by the lines at Jack's Wife Freda, we wandered in here for lunch. What a treat. Cramped tables but that's part of the charm. We had beef pho (perfect broth and tender meat) and the veggie bò bùn, which was one of the most delicious vegetarian meals I've had in ages. I would come back for that alone!

Despite the promise, the cuisine is neither Vietnamese nor French. If there was a marriage between the two, it did not work out very well. The location is nice and the place lively, but the food is not well conceived nor executed. Something as simple as their banh mi sandwich failed to meet the mark. It was disappointing as the idea of Vietnamese with a French twist has worked well over the years elsewhere. It would still make an interesting place to sit down in this part of Soho/Nolita.

Despite the heat my companion and I had a terrific pre-theater light meal here. Refreshing fruit drinks were very good; food was interesting and tasty

We went to this small and crowded place without any expectations and without a reservation, but enjoyed every bite and had a great food experience. We had the very delicious vegetarian noodle soops (with veg dumplings and without), as well as the soup of the day as a starter. Unfortunately the soup of the day was totally average, but it was huuuge! No complaints about the price... Also, we got some lemonades for free, which were fresh and tasty!

Stumbled upon this place while walking around the village. Got seated right away at the counter facing the street which was perfect since I was alone. Service was fast and friendly starting with the mint/basil infused bottle of water (love not having to flag a server down for a refill!). I got the Chicken Bò Bùn which was delicious! It was obviously very fresh and not too heavy. It was very delicate yet flavorful without being too salty (something that I've experienced a lot with noodle dishes). Great place to grab a bite! Prices are reasonable considering the area and the quantity of food (I almost couldn't finish the bowl and I can eat a lot!). Would love to come back for breakfast or brunch next time I'm in the neighborhood!

Slow service, average food. Expensive for an avantage food. Fried tofu was a soaked in oil dry tofu. Dried rice paper for spring rolls

We were walking around SoHo looking for a bite and came across Bo Ca Phe. Lucky to be seated quickly on a Sunday, just before noon. The menu was a cross of Vietnamese street cart staples and organic hipster fare. I ordered a beef and lemongrass banh mi that came with fresh fried taro chips. The sandwich was served on an old school Asian platter and taro chips in the same enameled styled cup, weathered and worn just the right amount. The short loaf of Italian hero was toasted and filled with sliced beef, marinated in kalbi like sauce. Standard pickled vegetables without a hint of the normal banh mi dressing, pate or lemongrass. It was tasty as a sammy, but missed the mark for it to be called banh mi. The others had an acai bowl and chicken pho bowl. Both looked good. Friend said the chicken was chewy. The other organic breakfast offerings also looked delish with plating, pleasing to the eye... poached egg on avocado toast and more! We split the Sweet Roll for dessert. Deep fried rice roll filled with strawberry, banana, nuts and Nutella, served with a mango coulis. Sounds better than it tastes. Saturday and Sunday, they offer unlimited mimosas! Staff were attentive and friendly. Quick to replenish the water for the table and efficiently clearing tables to keep things moving along. A few streetside tables out front and a couple of extra high tables at the back of the restaurant in the sun room. Overall, pleasant experience and decent meal, but not sure I would ever pay $17 for a banh mi or pho again. These can be purchased in Chinatown from an authentic Vietnamese shop for less than 10 bucks. Tip: write a review in Yelp! While dining and get a free dessert.

A great sidewalk Vietnamese restaurant with something for everyone on the menu. The service is quick and attentive and the pho and bun were both delicious and so fresh. Portions are just right and the wine list has some great options.

The food was good, the Pho and the spring rolls. They charge too much for a bottle of beer. The place overall struck me to be too expensive for what we got. Friendly service. Quiet in the back room.

I dined here last night and was impressed. The classic pho was delicious and full of flavour. There were plenty of fresh herbs to add, and the serving size was generous. For dessert I had coco chia. Amazing! Simple flavours but absolutely hit the mark. The service was friendly and quick. I’ll be back again.

Fast hot food with great and very informative service. Though their menu says 2 Bao Buns for $9, but it’s actually 1 for $9 which the waiter did disclose that. Def coming back to when I visit nyc again!

Never eaten vietnamese before. The place is nice, in a neigborhood with many restaurants and nightlife. Inside it's funished as old industrial place, but it's practically all new. We ate tipical vietnamese dishes that I can't remember the names. The menu is not so big so you can easily chose something to eat. In the menu there are also plates for vegetarians. Every plate we took was nice and the tastes were something of very different from what I'm used to eat. Desserts were good too

Wondered along street to find Jacks Wife Freda which was extremely busy & decided to go here instead & we are so glad we did. Food was absolutely delicious. Fresh, tasty & healthy. Service was friendly & quick. I would highly recommend a visit!

We walked through SoHo when lunchtime hunger occured - Tripadvisor helped us to find this little restaurant. We had wonderful vietnamese food, very nice service, and a good glass of wine. If you are into Asian food, don´t miss this one!

Good food for a change, nice ambiance and friendly staff. Will be going back! I recommend the rice bowls with salmon or beef, the spring roles, and boa bun!

Stopped here for an early lunch/ brunch and was glad to see they served breakfast all day. I selected a Vietnamese choice, salad/veggies with rice noodles topped with 2 eggs. Interesting, filling but not so you were overwhelmed with grease as is the case for many American breakfasts. I enjoyed my choice.

Close to hangry we decided to stay in this small restaurant, at least because there were some places free and we could grap one even without a reservation. The tapwater was yammi, they mix it with some peppermint. Our food was delicious, we had the beef burger and the salmon teriyaki style. But there was still some hunger because it was a smaller portion, so we ordered for dessert the chocolate cake with a coconut core. Awesome! The servers are all very sympatic and helpful.

Stumbled upon this fab find! Fusion between French and Vietnamese. Great ambience, fantastic food and great service! Must eat at!

Such a great experience! Food is super, service is friendly but a little harried. Gets super busy (no surprise)

Upon stumbling across BoCaphe, we had a friendly welcome from a waitress who sat us at the table quickly, explained the menus and Happy Hour Cocktails. Even though we went in for drinks and perhaps a few sides/nibbles, she highly recommend the Beef Pho which we found delicious. It’s very warming and a great dish. The selection of Cocktails were refreshing too. I’d happily visit again when I go back to New York.

Loved the banh mi beef that I orders and the watermelon juice was quite refreshing! Glad I discovered this place. Will definitely be back again. Ambience very casual and easy.

Monday, June 20, 2022 at 1:30 pm Name: Natalie Krel Reservation #: 17607 Bo Caphe Soho - the name alone sounds disgusting since 06/20/22 for my family! We (my husband, myself and two kids ages 5 and 6) booked a table for 1:30 PM on 06/20. The order was taken in 15 minutes we came in restorant. Bringing only the water was taking another 10 minutes. Kids were almost crying from hunger. "Our" waitress at that time successfully served customers on the street, not paying attention to our requests to speed up our order. At 2 PM they brought us half of the order, but not ours! My husband demanded to bring soup for kids immediately. At 2:20 the soup was on the table. 10 minutes later my husband demanded the check. That check had everything but the actual order! For the next 10 minutes, my husband tried to clear up a payment misunderstanding. The waitress literaly waved her hand at him and disappeared. The children were left almost hungry - the soup was not edible. Also kids were completely exhausted by the expectation. At 3 PM I demanded to call the manager. And in a very unflattering manner told him everything about the disgusting service and especially about this stupid and impudent waitress. As a result, we did not pay for our order, but this did not improve the mood and did not satiate the children. If you have nothing to do and have a great desire to spoil the mood for yourself and your loved ones, you should definitely visit Bo Caphe Soho!

Good atmosphere, service and good food.. not the best Bhan Mi's I have had - but would go there again..

We stopped in after a busy morning of shopping... it was hopping, but the wait was not too long and it was worth it. We all really enjoyed our food and every dish had a little something extra in a creative way. Definitely worth a try!

Fresh, delicious and an unexpected surprise. We sat here by chance and we’re very pleasantly surprised. We will definitely return! Ever turning was super fresh. We ordered: Shrimp tempura Ginger chicken baahnmi Quinoa rainbow salad Chicken finger spring rolls Extra taro chips 10 out of 10 I’d only add some outdoor fans especially as it starts getting hotter!

Inedible food for anyone who cares about Vietnamese cooking. Even by Americanized Asian restaurant standards, it falls short. Makes P F Chang food taste like they are from a Michelin star kitchen.

We had a wonderful dinner experience: Warm welcome, creative menu, nice decoration, friendly staff, and the food... Fresh, extremely tasty, full of flavors! I highly recommend the flavored sake shots, as well as the black sesam desert.

Firstly let me say that this is not my normal type of eatery. I found the seating hard and cramped but the food was decent. It appeared very popular with younger single people.

A little pop-ish and trendy, a little tight but not cramped, nice location... Prices were reasonable, perhaps slightly high, overall reasonable though. Service was efficient and friendly. I had the Lemongrass Beef vermicelli and it was good, nothing stellar but very good. One of my friends had the chicken ginger vermicelli and loved it, my other friend had a bowl of pho and said it was very good. We had bao bun appetizers (chicken) and summer roll. Both were very good but pretty small for the somewhat high price. Overall, it was a good meal and price was OK. I'd go back but before I do I'd probably try to find a more traditional vietnamese restaurant and maybe one that has better prices. Still rate this a 4 though - I think anyone would enjoy any meal at this place and be happy with the value.

Found this nice place passing by and was happy to be seated in an almost full restaurant. The food was delicious and the staff friendly and smiling. So if you are in the area and wish for a healthy vietnamese dinner, this is abslutely the place to go.

Feel so lucky that we were able to visit BoCaphe in early March on our visit to NYC. Lovely place, terrific food and friendly folks!

We came here as a last minute choice, as we hadn't been able to get into where we'd planned. This was a lucky choice as the food was decent and the restaurant had lovely decor and friendly staff with efficient service.

A nice little restaurant offering a western touch on Vietnamese cuisine. The pho was OK albeit the noodles were over cooked and were the wrong ones for a pho noodle soup, but the broth was good alongside great service. A decent place for a quick meal.

The food at BoCaphe was great. It was a fresh, healthy meal. I had a noodle bowl and substituted the noodles with zucchini noodles, which was perfect. My husband had a rice bowl and had the option to substitute cauliflower rice. The crowd was lively and music was nice. We will be back to try other menu items.

Popped in after a big day of shopping and snagged the last table for 3! It's a very tight restaurant with the tables on top of each other. Ordered the spring rolls which were very yummy and the pho, really nice broth and accompaniments. The cocktail I ordered looked nice but was quite boring and didn't taste like it had alcohol at all in it. Overall a good quick place to have a nice meal.

Had to try this place as was packed and all the food looked delicious. Went in for an early lunch. Everything was presented beautifully and tasted as good as it looked. Would recommend the noodles. Everything was packed with fresh ingredients. Topped off with friendly service.

We stopped by Bocaphe before the lunch rush and had a delicious meal. I ordered the Vegan Pho, my husband had the ginger chicken rice bowl, both exceeded our expectations. Gluten free dishes are plentiful and listed on the menu. We’ll be back!

We briefly stopped for lunch on this narrow restaurant. The place was clean and the service quick and friendly. Ideally you should try to sit near the kitchen at the back, where two large tables are bather from the natural light coming from an skylight. The vegan pho soup with rice noodles was quite good, the Rice Noodle salad (Bo Bun) with chicken "provencale" was simply excellent. The veggie Bo bun, still good, was a colder version of the former. Prices quite reasonable for the location.

Healthy tasty fast we loved it!! We went there for a lunch break and everybody loved it! We will order there again today Thanks!

It is a little bit of an Americanised version of a fusion restaurant. It has loads of Asian dishes, which by the way are delicious, but in the back ground Brazilian music is playing? I'm saying in the background but the music was actually quite loud. We had a Bao and it was toasted, which I don't think you are supposed to do with a Bao, but is still tasted great. Food was fresh and served really quickly. Staff was really friendly but a little slow at times too busy chatting to their regulars.. Overall a really good place to eat!

While waiting for my friend to arrive in the city, I hung out here by myself and enjoyed a big bowl of veggies (you can substitute zucchini noodles for rice noodles) and a refreshing watermelon juice. Everything was so pretty, the stirfry flavor was good, and the open air in warm weather felt great.

Amazing small restaurant in Soho, it is tiny but cosy and also the place is well decorated and welcoming. Excellent food, fresh fish and vegetable, big portion but so tasty that you wish it was even bigger and neverending pleasure. Nice and friendly staff, if you are a group better to reserve a table! they also offer home delivery, what a gift to have this food ringing at your doorbell :)

Hidden gem! Very nice waitress and great atmosphere. Jasmin iced tea was just what you need at the hot day in city jungles. If you are on diet you can substitute noodles with zucchini noodles which is perfect. Loved all about my short but nice visit

We stumbled in here HUNGRY and really enjoyed our vegetarian pho and their salmon salad - flavors were AMAZING. Prices were not outrageous, and we really enjoyed the atmosphere. Staff was friendly. We would go back!

BoCaPhe is a late morning, early afternoon eatery with nostalgic decor inside and ideal people watching view outside. It's owned by 2 Frenchman who highlight Vietnamese food. ENTREES: This bun thit nuong bo version (grilled lemongrass marinated beef) has the essentials (variety of greens 🥬, herbs 🌿 and roasted peanuts 🥜). The kicker is the cha gio dressed in banh trang (rice paper), merging the north and south cuisines into one. We love the flavor profile of the green papaya salad (ᴠɪᴇᴛ: goi du du) a favorite dish throughout Southeast Asia. The young shredded green papaya is befriended by chunks of tender chicken 🍗 roasted peanuts 🥜 and a variety of colorful veggies 🥕🌿, topped with a sour and sweet nước chấm dressing. A refreshing healthy alternative for those warm days. ☀️

This is not the place you want to go to when you are in the vicinity of China Town, the home of Asian traditional cuisines. The food doesn't come close to traditional Vietnamese and its is way overpriced. The ambiance is fine, the service is mediocre, but don't expect good tasting food. The food is Vietnamese, the music is Hip English, the server is Italian and the cook is Hispanic...

A fierce stream of lunch guests nodded with a smile. Many famous dishes from Vietnam at a slightly confusing menu. It turns out quite soon that there are interpretations of these dishes and not entirely authentic. Generous portions but an overcooked fish draws the grade significantly.
Great breakfast!!
Great food. Strong coffee. Toasted baguette with incredible homemade apricot jam. One of the best breakfasts I've had in a long time. Friendly service with a French accent. Recommend!
