Superb steak !!!

By Hallett741 |

Booked for Christmas Day, was only a few people at 2pm, our server was Tim who was very friendly. My husband had the crab cake for starter, which was good, but one cake on the plate with some sauce, no salad or anything, looked a bit plain, but tasted good. The bread provided was warm & crusty, very nice. I had the Filet Mignon and husband the New York Strip, both were outstanding, with mash potatoes, though I had ordered baked potatoes and our server Tim returned to informed that there were none left, which I would have not expected at 2 in the afternoon. We shared the chocolate cake, which was huge, but though it looked good, was a bit hard, dry and too chilled, think they should take a leaf out of Magnolia Bakery, moist !! We each had one drink each and the bill was $186, so we left $240, this made it the most expensive meal I have ever had, but I really think the steaks were the best we have had, they were so soft and tender. Would visit again, but maybe if a special occasion as we are not used to fine dining, we booked this as we were staying at the Omni and wanted to make sure of a dinner on Christmas Day. Very nice and modern decor.

Excellent food & service

By Cheryl G |

My daughter and I were staying at the Omni Berkshire upstairs, and stopped here for a late night dinner. The service was outstanding, food was great & fast. A little expensive ($12 for a bowl of soup) but typical for Manhattan.

So many great alternatives nearby

By sarah r |

I always judge any restaurant based on its relative price point. Bob's is very expensive ($28. for breakfast entrees, 40-50 for dinner ala carte main dishes) At these very high prices they aren't even trying. Nothing original, nothing creative at all. You can walk a block or two in any direction and get so much better food.

Absolutely fantastic! A must go!

By Stay719116 |

Great atmosphere. Food was delicious; plentiful and perfectly prepared. Wish we had room left over for dessert. Food and service from Kevin were above and beyond. Casual clothing is fine, even though it's an upscale restaurant. I will definitely be going back, and next time, with my family and friends.

first visit to this nice and beauty restaurant.

Great Steak Restaurant

By Mav61 |

If you are looking for a great steak restaurant in midtown New York this is the place. It has a nice bar for pre dinner drinks and a lovely eating area. Its not cheap but the food is worth it.

Stumbled upon a gem!

By Pegasus212 |

We really wanted a good steak on our last night in NYC but kept changing our minds on which restaurant. Stumbled on Bob's by chance, I was slightly concerned as I was wearing trainers but was assured it was not an issue. Loved the peppers / gherkins on the table, Fab cocktails and most importantly great steak! I had the surf and turf and both lobster and steak were amazing. Tiny warning-the onion rings are a meal on their own! Loved this place - the manager came over to chat to us too which was a nice touch. Would highly recommend!

Disappointing all around

By Adam W |

One of the highest-priced steak place I've tried this year in NYC. Slow and inattentive service, mediocre steaks, an absurdly presented carrot, and lukewarm potatoes. No ambiance, the interior looks like a basic hotel lobby restaurant. Very disappointing.

Great food quality and service

By Tom2002a |

We were staying at the hotel and figured we'd try this place for lunch. Although it was relatively empty the service and food quality were outstanding. We fully intend to go back for dinner.

Sonny the best bartender,

By Toddy I |

Sonny koltovski, bartender at Bobs at the Omni Berkshire is everything a bartender should be,I’m only in town for a few days but after day 1 he recalled my preference and made me feel like a regular whenever I came to his bar. Omni is not typically my hotel of choice in NYC, but my stay was a happy new adventure thanks to Sonny making me feel at home.,

good steakhouse in midtown

By cittadin0delmond084 |

I wanted to visit this restaurant after the renovation so I went for a business lunch. the restaurant is very nice, has a nice bar and a beautiful seating. the service was good same as the food. Steve the manager was very welcoming and professional.

Not as good as Bob's in Dallas Omni

By Smel N. Goot |

Excellent bread. Chicken caeser salad average. Nice manager and server. Crabcake sandwich good. Fries very good. In Omni Berkshire hotel.

Christmas day

By longpod212 |

Booked a table for Christmas Day,bit more than we like to spend but hey! It’s Christmas. The New York strip steak was excellent and cooked to perfection, the large carrot was also nice but the mash potatoes were not brilliant!! My wife had the chicken which had loads of chicken on. For desert I had the chocolate cake which was amazing and huge enough for two people easily. The staff were very friendly just a little quick at times & felt like we were being rushed. All in all a great meal in a nice restaurant.

OMG the Filet

By Bobby G |

In NYC for a quick business trip and found this jewel. Ordered a 7 oz filet since not to hungry and was knocked out by the presentation and cooked to perfection meat. Came with wonderful warm bread, glazed carrot and baked potato. OMG it was one of the best meals I’ve ever had. If in NYC go and be stunned by how good it is!

Dinner at Bob’s Steak and Chop House

By Dentist12 |

Food was delicious and cooked exactly as ordered. Waiter( Philippe)was excellent. Would definitely return.

Quick and Kinda Good

By Carla W |

We needed a fast burger place before the theater. We had selected a burger place nearby, but the wait was too long and they sent us here. We were able to get in quickly and the service was very quick. The burgers were good, albeit pricy. The pulled pork was also good. Nothing exceptional, but quick and good wait staff.

Very excited to visit this restaurant!!

By knscourby |

Great visit to this restaurant, especially since they have hired Sonny as the day bartender! Sonny worked at Sir Harry's at the Waldorf Astoria for 30+ years and is a wonderful asset to this bar and restaurant. I was so glad to reconnect with Sonny and will certainly come back to the Omni and to Bob's!!

Bar attached to our hotel

By drsgbaker |

We used this bar a couple of times as it was part of our hotel. The service was very good, excellent choice of drinks (though i wish they wouldnt put plastic straws in every drink!) but a tad on the expensive side and a bit lacking in atmosphere (not helped by the large TV screens on every wall).

Lovely evening

By WebsterCook |

After reading the reviews, I was not expecting the outstanding service that accompanied our delicious meal. We shared the shrimp platter, then had salad followed by surf and turf. Unfortunately, it got the better of us and we couldn’t finish our plates. The chef came and introduced himself, as did the maitre d. Great choice especially if you’re staying at the Omni and looking for somewhere close.

Great Steak

By Mbarghuthi |

I like this place, staff are really nice and friendly - our waitress “Tamara” was friendly and genuine. We ordered Onion Rings to start with and I had the Filet Mignon with Smashed potatoes - it was really good. I highly recommend this place when in NYC

Friday Night Highlights!

By RonM... |

My wife and I were included in a large group event - and we enjoyed an outstanding dining experience on Friday night 5/26/17. The staff was gracious and welcoming, the space comfortable and appropriate for a restaurant of that character. We enjoyed Mulled Manhattans before dinner and noticed some of the special touches, such as jars of brined pickles, that are unique characteristics of the Bob's brand. Our filet mignons are prepared and served perfectly (as I write this, I wish I had something left over it was that good). This highly recommends Bob's Steak and Chop House in midtown Manhattan on 52nd Street. Enjoy!

Very disappointed. Very poor value and very fatty steak.

By NewcastleFalcons |

Staying at the Omnia so had family dinner in this attractive environment. Restaurant was buzzing with activity and had a great vibe. Manager very friendly but waiter not so. Starter delicious but steak was extremely fatty and quite tough. expect $90 per head without drinks which for the quality and service was quite frankly outrageous.. There seemed to be quite a number of corporate tables where value for money doesn't seem to matter.

Good food at NYC prices though!

By Darryl G |

We only tried a few food items here but all were good. The drinks were also good. Everything we tried was at typical Manhattan New York prices. They also have a couple of sporting events airing near the bar most of the time.

A Nice Surprise!

By FrequentTraveller61 |

While staying at the Omni Berkshire nearby we had the chance to visit this restaurant on our first night in town. We had a great meal of appetizers and salads. All were generous portions and each dish and very tasty. If it wasn't so expensive we would've come back and had another meal there as well.

Steak is great, go elsewhere for dessert!

By Chelsea H |

We went to this restaurant as it was just downstairs from the hotel we stayed at (Omni Berkshire). Service was brilliant, the waiter was very nice and friendly. Starter - lobster bisque 8/10 The bisque had lobster pieces in there as well which I loved! It tasted very fresh, slightly too salty but still very good. We had it with a whole loaf of freshly baked bread which was also soft on the inside and crispy on the outside...amazing! Main - filet mignon 6oz - 8/10 We had it medium rare. This was done perfectly. Possibly slightly too dry but it had a lot of good flavour in there. The carrot was cooked with cinnamon, not to my taste but it was very soft. The mash potato was good, you could tell it was made properly with whole potatoes Dessert - chocolate molten cake and key lime pie - 3/10 I may have been too full to enjoy the dessert but I can safely say that this restaurant specialises in steak clearly! I would go elsewhere for dessert as the standard is no where near as high as the steak. Overall, this was good as it was restaurant week in NYC. So it was $42 for a 3 course meal otherwise it is quite pricey.

Overpriced!

By The World is My Oyster |

Had a few drinks there last weekend and was disappointed on how overpriced the drinks were. One blue moon and a gin and tonic for $27 after tipping, a little steep for my taste.

Enjoyable experience but expensive

By TerryTsang2905 |

I went here during restaurant week so it was 42 dollars for 3 dish courses. Between my fiancée and I we had the lobster bisque, goats cheese salad, steak, chocolate dessert and lime tart dessert. In addition to the 3 courses they provided lovely bread and butter and also pickled gherkin which was a little strange. The starters, while the salad was nice, I would definitely go for the lobster bisque. I was going to go for the chicken main but the waiter persuaded me otherwise and I was glad I listened! Haven’t had a better steak than this for a while. While it was only 6oz - I was easily full and didn’t even finish my dessert! Speaking of which the dessert was only so so. Without the restaurant week this place would have been too expensive I’m afraid to say! However portions are large enough you can easily share as a couple.

This place feels like home...

By tedrubin |

Cozy, classy, fine food... and fabulous friendly staff. Looking forward to my next visit February 28th - March 3rd.

Expensive, Inadequate lunch

By jeff3545 |

Good service and good decor. The food at lunch was expensive for what it was an not very good. Amazing how much bread crumb you can add to crab cakes.

Better Than We Expected!

By Susan B |

There were no reviews for Bobs NYC yet, since it was a new location. I'm not one to visit many chain restaurants but the Bobs has a good reputation so while staying at the Omni (where this restaurant is located) we decided to just eat there out of convenience because we were short on time. We are not tourists and have eaten all over NYC, so this isn't the usual type of eatery we would visit. That said, going in we had lower expectations but were pleasantly surprised. The staff was on point, not missing a beat. The atmosphere is upscale and cozy. The food was excellent, every steak cooked to perfection (make sure to try the carrots). We had a large group of people and some came later unexpectedly and the staff was more than happy to fit them at our table, and even gave them plates for sharing the sides that were brought out in case they wanted any, after saying they were only going to have some drinks (which were stiff for what that's worth). It is a bit pricey but not out of the ordinary for the type of establishment it is, and the part of NYC where it's located. If we are ever in that area of NYC again for a reason, I wouldn't hesitate to eat here. Nothing about this experience said "chain".

Best service!

By Julietisabella |

Visited this place with a few local friends and was very impressed! The service was outstanding and the food delicious. Fantastic New York experience

I've dined with Bob's three times and every visit has been wonderful

By Kevin L |

I am not a fan of the "famous" pickle jar that is on the table or the humongous carrot that comes with the entrees--but let me tell you for a great filet or a wonderful rack of Lamb--Bob's is the place to go. In NYC there are a ton of very good choices--I choose Bob's because its location at the Omni Berkshire is very convenient, the waiters are professional and very kind, and the food is excellent. High quality, large portions and a great environment make for a satisfying dinner. Other reviewers note that Bob's prices are high--I think so too. But my wife and I (and even business colleagues) are happy to share a steak and order an extra side--you'll have plenty to eat and the bill will be lighter, too. I like ths place and I will be back on my next trip to NYC.

Wide Variety

By jswflights |

Bob's has a broader menu selection than expected for a steakhouse. It has a wide variety of entres. The host staff is friendly and the wait staff looks out for customers. The food is good and what would be expected.

Great service and great food

By msmxtoo |

I was here on business. Had dinner and ordered the rib eye steak. Perfectly cooked medium. The taste was phenomenal. The service was excellent. The waiter made sure all at the table had drinks and the food was brought at the same time. I recommend this place.

Better places in nyc

By 665vicki |

Went last nite for a friends birthday. Service was good it was restaurant week some of us took advantage the 2 guys had a rib eye which they said was good. Lobster bisque good but our filet mignon was salty and not medium rare so all three woman sent it back and received 3 more which was fine but presentation was a zero. To lay a giant fat long cooked carrot on the plate was so un appealing not even cut up we thought it was a joke. The jar on table marinating was tasteless. The staff was accommodating and bought our friend champagne to the table. There are better quality restaurants especially the prices they charge. We were glad it was restaurant week because the price 42 for 3 course was all it was worth. Would not return

Amazing breakfast and great service

By Cynthie2013 |

We stayed in the Omni Berkshire Hotel and we had breakfast in Bob'steak and Chop House. The variety of the options and menu were very good. Highly recommended everything that has to do with egg. The Spanish omelette, the omelette with 3 eggs, the american breakfast etc. Also the pancakes were delicious and huge ! If you select the basket with the bread, please note that the bapka is the best I ever had. Also they have a very interesting variety of jams : jalapeno, bourbon and rum. Highly recommended!

Amamzing visit

By James R |

We own steakhouses in the Uk. The staff were really great, loved the food and decor. The staff were great - I said that already. Highly recommend. Visited with our 8 and 11 year old. Everyone left happy. Thank you, J

amazing lunch

By annadi2016 |

I was last week in this restaurant for lunch and the food is excellent. especially, I would like to thank to Karl to be very kind and professional. Also for giving us advise of the dishes.

Wow, what a giant carrot!

By Richard H |

I enjoyed this restaurant with a business colleague after a long day. It's situated within the Omni Berkshire on 52nd. Lots of tables and fast service. Basic drink list with all the normal selections, decent wine list. Table had a jar of pickled red peppers and pickles. Nicely presented, but hard to get out of the container. Colleague got a special and I got ceasar salad, ny strip and broccoli. Portions were large -- with baked potato, broccoli and carrot served on the entrée plate being enormous. You have to be super hungry to eat all of this food. Not inexpensive, but probably average for a NYC steakhouse. We skipped dessert because we were too full.

Decent steak, good service, side options limited

By forwarddeployed |

Had a pretty good steak here (18 oz prime rib steak), cooked a perfect medium rare, as requested. Overall, the food was very good, and the service was excellent. The waiter even offered a free slice of Key Lime pie, which was a nice touch. The only downside was the very limited selection of side dishes available, but not a show stopper...

Great Place For A Drink With Collegues At Day's End

By ElaineAndGreg |

Bob's Steak and Chop House is next to/part of the Omni Berkshire Hotel in Mid-town Manhattan. It's easy to get to from many area locations. It's about two blocks from Rockefeller Center and close to attractions such as St. Patrick's Cathedral, MOMA, and Fifth Avenue. We were here for drinks - not dinner - so I can't really evaluate the food. Several of us were here following a series of business meetings. The wine list was excellent and the staff was personable and attentive. The restaurant itself is a steak house and it has that kind of wood-paneled ambience. This is a nice place to spend time with your friends and colleagues at the end of a long day.

Lovely and friendly

By Sally J |

We had starters and drinks in here when we first arrived at the hotel and it was really nice - food amazing, we had the slider burgers and the lollipop lamb. Staff friendly and chatty. I often popped in to get a drink to take up to our room. It isn't cheap in here but the food is worth it.

Corporate Dinner in Private Dining Space

By eajennifer |

I wanted to tell you that everything about our dinner on Monday night was PERFECT - the setup, the food, the service - all outstanding. Everything from start to finish - you answering my inquiry (through Open Table), the planning, the customer service, the event - was great. I am so happy I ended up at the Omni for what we needed during our short visit in New York this week, I couldn't have been more pleased. We will be back.

Great Addition to the Omni

By Leigh Lafever-Ayer |

We had dinner at Bob's during our recent stay. The food was delicious and the service very attentive. The steaks were the star and there is a lovely wine list.

Convenient and delicious

By excitedtraveler2016 |

We ate dinner there while celebrating a friend's birthday. The wait staff was very attentive and engaging, the food delicious. Prices were high in my opinion, but appear to be the norm for the area.

Stuffy Crowd/Cool Bar

By samtheinvincible |

I only walked into this plave because it looked like I wouldn't fit in. I don't regret it--I am sitting at the bar eating like a queen. The wine is great, food is good, and the bartenders are nice. I will return and this place is worth a try if you're in the neighborhood.

Left disappointed

By Jill V |

Came for dinner arrived at 4:59 was told we could not be seated as restaurant opened at 5:00 and we would have to wait in the bar. We decided to eat in the bar. Our server was very friendly but as the evening progressed the bar became quite busy and I believe she may have become a little overwhelmed. We ordered cheeseburger, 18 oz prime rib and soup and salad. The Lobster Bisque soup was delicious, the salad was just lettuce and dressing. The fries that came with the cheeseburger were good, but the cheeseburger bun was stale and the meat overcooked. The baked potato and carrot that came with the prime rib were impressive but the meat was also overcooked, cold and tough. By the time our food came the bar had become quite busy and we could no longer get our servers attention. We had a guest with a limited time frame for dinner so we made due. Our bill was $186.00 which we would not have minded paying if the meal had been good, when we finally were able to find someone to point out the problems they offered to cook it over but by this time our dinner guest needed to leave. Very disappointing and embarrassing.

Lousy, expensive breakfast

By David and Lesli... G |

Stay away, even if you're staying in the Omni Berkshire hotel. Breakfast is outrageous--$28 for an omelet, and they couldn't get the order right. (I asked for cheese and NO onions! I got onions and no cheese!) They made things worse by adding a tip with no option to reduce it. They even charge hotel guests for coffee. Gouging visitors from the hotel next door is not a good business plan for the restaurant or the hotel.

Another extraordinary meal!

By Dino Sipsas |

We have been eating at Bob's restaurants all over the country and they never disappoint. It's still the best Filet Mignon we have eaten to this day and trust me we have eaten plenty. I can't speak about the other cuts as we get the same thing all the time. This visit we had the lobster bisque for a starter which was equally delicious and our usual beef steak and tomatoe salad. The General manager and staff are very nice and we will be back for dinner again.

Really nice staff and perfect food

By Gerardo L |

I had an incredible time manager was very friendly. Fresh made bread excellent. I had this blue cheese fillet mignon salad. The waiter was also very kind.

Classically delicious steak house

By Anne C |

Located in the Omni hotel, Bob's looks like the classic (particularly NYC) old steakhouse, with lots of dark wood and white tablecloths and black napkins. We had just a really great dinner here. We had an early reservation and were thankful that all of the activity was centered at the after-work bar crowd so the dining room was calm. The host even mentioned he'd seat us farther away from the bar so we'd have a quieter setting. Our server was enthusiastic and on top of things for the most part. Everything was deelish -- the fluffy/crusty bread, the blue cheese salad, my surf n' turf lobster tail and filet mignon, my hubby's large steak of some sort, the gargantuan carrot, the baked potato, and the glass of champagne. The only disappointment was that I got some vanilla ice cream and it's texture was actually a bit grainy. I didn't make a big deal about it as I was so full from my dinner that it was fine, but it was a bit surprising given how great everything else was. Hubby liked his peanut butter cup ice cream, though. All in all, this was everything you would want in a nice steakhouse meal and we look forward to our return!

Fabulous bar and restaurant

By NSRock |

We stayed at the Omni Berkshire for 5 nights and visited the bar every day. Yes a little pricey for drinks, but you are just off 5th Avenue and this is Manhattan, enough said! Service great, special hello to the waitress with the flower in her hair. Food portions huge, recommend you share even if you are hungry. Tenderloin steak bites...... amazing!

THE CARROTS (And Steak!)

By Steph |

Rather than venture out into the city during my stay at the Omni Hotel, I opted to have a nice dinner downstairs at Bob's. I was not disappointed! The bread was delicious, served fresh and warm. The calamari appetizer I ordered was delicious, just the way I like it (crispy and fresh). I ordered a 9oz filet mignon which came with the largest (and most delicious) carrot I've ever seen in my life + a side of mashed potatoes. Everything was very good. The service was great, as well. I felt that my table was attended to within a reasonable time. I would recommend having dinner here.

Nice place

By danielheiner |

Very nice quiet place. Service was EXCELLENT. Food very good. Had filet, potato, fish, all excellent. Cocktails very good. Far more comfortable than big name chains and probably better all the way around.

Terrible Service

By cons18 |

First time here under the name of Bob’s Steak and Chop House but I have been in the prior restaurants that preceded this one. Menu for lunch had a god cross section of items to choose from. I had the chicken which was ok, not much you can do wrong with chicken, but the service was some of the worst I have ever had and what makes it even more pain full it was and over $100 lunch for 2 people! If you go and see a tall, bald server that has an accent run away. I told him I wanted the “sliced potatoes” as it said on the menu and it came out with sauce and other stuff all over it. I asked what the sauce was and it turns out was allergic to some of the ingredients and I told him, he said too bad that is how we make it! So if you like to be treated like this for a $100+ lunch then go here.

Good food

By Terri S |

Nice Restaurant very price but very good food. Bar is comfy and the service was great. I would definitely eat here again.

Birthday dinner

By David P |

Bob's is in the Omni-Berkshire. We celebrated my birthday there. I had a steak that was done excellently. I really enjoyed the picked peppers on the table. The waiter and maetre'de sang kappa Birthday and had a delicious chocolate cake. I will stay at the Omni again based on Bob's being there.

A sad expencive eatery attached to a mid town hotel

By Mike020255 |

When you look through the front window from the street it often seems well populated - dont be fooled this is the bar serving drinks and snacks, The restraunt is behind the bar with very little activity, atmospere, welcoming, service, or good food. OK maybe I was there on an off day but at these prices there shouldnt be an off day. Dont be tempted to eat here, go tothe bar have a drink or a snack but pass the restraunt by.

Best steak we've ever had!!!

By cbbct |

My husband and I visited Bob's Steak House while spending the day in NYC for our Anniversary. We had gone to the Nashville location back in April & fell in love with the steak so we were ecstatic to find out there was one in NYC! New York did not disappoint! The steak was just as amazing as we'd remembered it! It was again, the best steak we have ever had! We arrived early for our reservations & were sat immediately. Our waiter & the rest of the staff were great! He was even kind enough not only to give us directions back to Grand Central, but also to make sure we were done in time to be able to catch our train on time. Great food. Great service. & a beautiful restaurant. It was another wonderful experience & we will definitely be back!!!

Nicely decorated, good and lots of food

By Rafael S |

Place serves very good food and quite big plates. Nicely decorated with a good atmosphere. Good for business meetings. A little expensive. Love going for the quality of the food.

Delicious Breakfast with great service!

By Mark and Robin M |

We were fortunate to have enjoyed breakfast one morning at this restaurant in the Omni Berkshire. The service was impeccable and the food better than we'd hoped for. I had the Egg White Frittatta and the kitchen customized it with no problem. The bread basket contained some of the best chocolate babka I've ever tasted, would love to know their supplier!

Great Burger!

By happyclient2017 |

We were on a tight schedule and the staff was very accommodating. Service was great, and the burger was delicious.

Wonderful Christmas Day Dinner

By RSM123123 |

Fine Dining. Professional service. Good food. I had the surf and turf special, with the 6 oz. filet mignon. Great. Big league. Started dinner with the squash soup, again great. Good bread. Where do they get these giant glazed carrots? Biggest carrot I have ever seen. Nice potatoes. Had a lower priced bottle of Simi brand wine and no desert, but overall cost was about $260 for two before tip. Direct lobby access to the Omni Berkshire hotel. Business casual or better.

Very good bar (and burgers)

By Craig Calhoun |

I stay recurrently at the adjacent hotel, so i’ve been to Bob’s many times - for breakfast, lunch, or drinks. It’s always been very good, more reliable than exciting, but high enough quality that I am happy to come back (and this is a neighbourhood with lots of choices).

My Most Expensive Experience

By taewoo1 |

I went downstairs to have breakfast one morning while I was there. I was informed there was no breakfast buffet despite being within the hotel and that everything was going to be a la carte, including beverages. Someone read me the menu due to the fact that I am visually impaired. I ordered an omelet, which I thought was the best choice since it was going to cost me $28. I decided to order as many toppings as I could, but was only limited to 2 toppings, plus cheese. There were no breakfast hash browns available, only skillet potatoes. I felt they did not offer enough variety, but they did allow me to substitute my toast for a bowl of fruit. I ended up spending $35 and some change for this omelet. I would have rather spent that money on a breakfast buffet with a variety of food. I never spent this much money on a breakfast. I do know that everything in New York is expensive, which I took into consideration. I will never eat there again until they replace the restaurant or menu.

Delicious food, great service

By AllycatCanada |

Ate here various times during a business trip to NY. One of the best T Bones I have eaten. Check out the presentation.

So disappointed

By Kevin P |

Anniversary stay at the hotel next door thought we would try this restaurant sadly this was no highlight service was great food over priced and disappointing and the carrot!!!?????? The worst meal we had in a 3 night stay in the big apple- over priced and won’t be back

Amazing food and service

By Emilyryan1991 |

We was looking for a great steak in New York and that's certainly what we got! From the moment we walked in we was greeted by an extremely welcoming lady who was so sweet, we then had Jimmy as our waiter, he couldn't have been more helpful! Our steaks were cooked to perfection and the cheesecake we shared for dessert was lovely. Highly recommend!

Disappointed

By redneckersson5 |

This restaurant is attached to the Omni Bershire Hotel. As the name suggests, it features beef. We chose this for our Dinner on Christmas because the menu looked enticing, not that many places were open, and we had tickets for an eight o'clock show. First, service was OK, but even though the restaurant was not crowded, the waiter tended to disappear exactly when you needed something. Second, my wife usually has many question about the menu. He was not all that knowledgeable or perhaps just being what we "outlanders" think about New Yorkers. But the disappointment was in the food. I orderd the lobster bisque, and we shared a wedge. The bisque was fine exept that it could have used a spot of sherry (suppose I could have asked, but it was not offered on the menu). The wedge was nondesctipt--the blue cheese dressing must have been from discount distribution--it had very little taste. My wife orderd the small filet mignon grilled "pink" in Pittburgh style. It arrived almost somewhat colde and rare. An iteration back in the kitchen made it somewhat more to her liking, but still the filet lacked flavor one expects. I had the duck breast. It also arrived rare when I ordered medium. I did send it back also, but it didn't matter. It was so tough on the first try that I had difficulty cutting it with a steak knife. The retrun to the kitchen did not help that. We probably will return to this hotel, but we will definitely NOT eat here agai

Very inconsistent

By RickyB |

We visited Bob’s three times while we were staying in NYC (at the OMNI) and we had three very different experiences. The first we were welcomed with an amazing smile of an African American man who was amazing to deal with; we ordered a cheese platter and talked the night away. The second we were served by an elderly man and ordered a cheese platter- we got a completely different platter? A different cheese and a little less. The third time we were quite late (11:20), and we were greeted the same way, however our cheese platter was about half in size? Missing a cheese and a sauce, and the service from about 11:45 onwards was inexcusable. I asked for the bill twice, got it in the end without a pen, and the bartender responsible for closing was more interested in his phone than caring who we were. Sad as the start was good!

Easy spot as it adjoins a great hotel. Delicious food, friendly bar and great wait staff! Perfect spot!

Great food and great service!

By Thida_Roe |

We had drinks at the bar on a Friday night. It was quite busy, the atmosphere was great and the service was excellent. We went back one morning for breakfast, the prices are reasonable considering the huge portions. The food was delicious and our waiter was very polite and attentive. I highly recommend!

Amazing food and great service

By michelle d |

The best steak we have ever had. I don't really care for steak and I could eat this all the time. They had kids meals but you had to ask for them. The pasta sauce was amazing! They did under cook my son's steak, but they fixed it and took it off the bill. All the food was great. The service was great. There was no wait to get in and we really enjoyed it.

Martinis and Sliders

By Caitlyn M |

We were staying at the Omni adjacent to the restaurant and had a great martini(s) at the end of a long Holiday shopping day. Very friendly steak house bar scene. Bartenders seem to know the locals, so it wasn't all transient guests. Sliders were amazing.

Wonderful private dining

By Katkev23 |

The food and portions are amazing. We have had three dinners here for between 30 and 60 people. The staff is very good at helping you plan an event and for the price and the amount of food, it is very reasonable.

Most delicious filet minion

I’ll admit right up front, Bob’s was our FOURTH attempt at getting seated at a steakhouse. One place was full with a long wait and other two were closed. We found Bob’s place because it showed up on our phone map. Lucky us. Read on. Bob’s is in the Omni hotel. It was certainly a high class service steakhouse for the regular place. It was a bit pricey but it is NYC and was well worth it. We were a group of four businessmen. I ordered the 12 oz filet cooked medium. It was absolutely the most tender cut of filet I’ve ever had. I sliced it thin and enjoyed ever savory cooked-to-perfection morsel. To step back and start at the beginning, they had a jar of pickles and peppers on each table. I guess it’s their thing. They were actually a good start to the night. Bread came next and it was incredible: soft and warm with a slightly sweet taste. My coworker and I split a wedge salad which was perfect size. Definitely no room for dessert after the steak. I’m not even sure what my coworkers had because I was in LOVE with my steak. Business people, a dating couple, mom and daughter were among the many clients that night enjoying a terrific meal. Bob’s will definitely be on my recommend list to my friends.

Great service. Goofy prices.

By laurenaalexander |

The service here could not have been better. However, the prices are nutty for the quality. The food was not bad at all, but it was also not great. On a recent trip I had dinner here one evening and due to convenience , I gave the restaurant a second chance for a business breakfast the following day. I paid more than $18 for oatmeal -- crazy town!

Best of the Bob's

By richarddG4334TG |

Excellent value! I have had the pleasure of dining in other Bob's Steak and Chop Houses, including the original on Lemon Ave in Dallas. The venue located in the Omni Berkshire is without a doubt the best of them. The food was extraordinary and service was exceptional. Each and every person with the restaurant was attentive without hovering but also provided a personal touch that helped make the evening remarkable. Although expensive a touch less so than many NYC locales making it one of the best values in Manhattan.

Hotel restaurant and bar. Excellent service, fun food options.

By RonL40 |

Great place for dinner for group of six with teens. Burgers received rave reviews from the kids & we enjoyed the salads, charcuterie and steaks. Nice wine list. Service was perfect -- very enjoyable sit down for a couple of hours. Went back for drinks on another day... great selection.

Excellent meal all around

By Tom P |

It was our first night in NYC, rainy, after a long flight and we decided just to eat in the hotel. I am so glad we did; I would come to this place even if I was not staying at the Omni. Very good service (Nor was a wonderful waiter) and top notch steak house fare. The steaks were really terrific, cooked perfectly with a lot of flavor. Great sides (both the creamed spinach and the mushrooms were particularly good), a wonderful wedge and excellent cheesecake. Strong cocktails, too. We were very happy.

Steakhouse service at breakfast

By Anne C |

This was our first visit to this fairly new restaurant, although we had been to the Bob's Steak and Chop House in the Omni Hotel in San Francisco a few years ago and liked it. We purposely came here for breakfast based on our experiences at the SF restaurant. It is very pleasant in the morning to sit in the dark wood-paneled restaurant with comfy chairs and white linen tablecloths. Even though we were there sort of later in the morning and therefore only a couple other tables were occupied, we still got attentive steakhouse-style service. I got the eggs benedict and hubby got steak and eggs. Both dishes were good but not spectacular (I thought hubby's steak was on the itsy bitsy size). My eggs benedict itself was the standard very good breakfast item although I found that the side of potato disks were a bit over-fried. Coffee was good and I appreciated that we didn't have to flag down service when something needed refilling.

Vacation to NYC

Bob’s Steak and Chips is wonderful- great ambiance, fabulous lamb and salmon. The General Manager, Maurizio Chiovaro, was very personable and engaging. It was a pleasure to be greeted by him with a smile every time we walked through the doors. The bartender is the perfect New York mixologist. Beautiful paneled room with interesting historical art. Don’t miss this!

meh

By Dawn Bryant H |

Bob's is attached to the Omni Berkshire and certainly "looks" the part but fails to deliver. Portions are HUGE (as are the carrots) but the overall experience is just "ok". My bisque was quite cold. Great wine selection, great service, but mediocre food. Steak was undercooked for the requested level of doneness (he requested med rare and it was fully, purple rare). Crab cakes were good - not fabulous. All in all an overpriced, mediocre restaurant that probably gets most of its traffice due to its location. Would not return and would not recommend.

Didn't sample the steak

By Larry F |

We stayed at the hotel and had dinner at Bob's last Sunday . While I agree that the prices were high, they were not outrageously so for NYC. However the rack of lamb, which we both had, was an absolute bargain- a full 8 chop rack, superbly prepared. Probably the best I ever had. We also split the shrimp cocktail appetizer. Four huge, tasty shrimp. More than enough for two. Finally, the drinks were very good, but the after-dinner Brandy was close to a double. I commented on it to our waiter, who joked the bartender was drunk. I hope he remains that way.

Traditional

Sometimes you look for traditional ambience and food, this is the situation lace Staff is very professional and warm, and resilient Quality of meet is top, same for the wines

Great Overall Experience

By Steve S |

Was staying at the Omni Hotel and thought to eat here for convenience. It was so much more than convenient. The service staff was amazingly attentive. The food was delicious. I would say the filet was one of the best I have ever eaten. The restaurant manager Jolie could not have been more engaging and charming. Rivals the bigger named Steakhouses in NYC and anywhere for that matter.

Fantastic Dinner

By Rnm0703 |

My husband and we're staying at the Omni and decided to try this restaurant out for dinner when our other reservations cancelled. The concierge was able to get us a table right away. The food was delicious, steaks cooked to perfection, but moreso the service was incredible! Nor was so personable and went above and beyond to make our experience great! After a long day in the city, the bar at this restaurant is the perfect setting to end the night. We would definitely go back to this restaurant again!

elegant and good food

By annadi2016 |

Restaurant elegant. Food excellante and fresh nice plat decoration. Staff friendly and attentive to the customer.

Convenient

By A T |

The restaurant is part of the Omni Berkshire Hotel so we did not have to walk outside to get in. We had lunch and dinner there but the experiences were very different. There was a large bar area with televisions and a dedicated dining area. Both times we were seated in the dining area and had good service. We split a sandwich for lunch and we were glad we did. It was a huge steak sandwich with fries. The steak was too fatty for me to enjoy but the fries were good. We had a small salad at dinner and it was good. The difference in the experience was the level of sound. The lunch was quiet and relaxing, but the evening meal was too loud to enjoy dinner. There were several well behaved children seated in the evening, but two other children near the bar area were very, very loud.

Bob's Steak & Chop House

By stephenfrench07 |

This is a fine dining experience. The ambiance is dark and very cozy. I like the dark wood paneling and low light atmosphere. Our waiter was phenomenal and catered to our every need. He was available when needed and in the background when he wasn't. The food was outstanding! We had steak and shrimp and they were cooked to perfection.

Great atmosphere with delicious food

By jazzy1121 |

Stayed at The OMNI Hotel for a Pre-Christmas Holiday week-end with family. We had a wonderful breakfast there each morning and ate dinner there on one evening. The manager and waiters were very friendly and made you feel at home. Somewhat pricey but you're in NYC, so that is to be expected, especially at a steak house. I would definitely recommend this restaurant.

Nice spot

Basically the hotel restaurant of the Omni Berkshire, but good wuality, good staff, and pleasant. Nice for breakfast and all meals. Doubles as a bar. Informal.

We stayed overnight at the

By CherylHuntington_NY |

We stayed overnight at the host hotel, Omni Berkshire...very nice...separate review. It was pouring rain this day/night and we had tix for West Side Story at 8...interesting technique ...also separate review. So we had reservations for 4pm but were hungry earlier . They said “no problem , come in down whenever you like “. Nice! The bar and lounge was bustling but we were the only two seated in the dining area at that time. I think maybe the hostess forgot to tell the wait staff that she seated us, but the keen eye of a manager saw us before and after he entered the wine room and I could hear him ask the young lady trailing him...”has someone been there?”. It really was fine, we weren’t waiting long but it didn’t meet his standards . He didn’t wait for an answer but came right over , welcomed us and took our drink order. His suggestion on the Malbec was perfect...delish! He went above by bringing over the bottle so I could snap a pic of the label. Yay! Dinner was outstanding! Shrimp cocktail BEST I’ve had ...crab cake...real deal! Filet mignon perfect ! Smashed potatoes , creamed spinach...yep...fabulous! The waiter was in point...great timing and very funny. Go and enjoy! Ps...saw Mgr later in the bar ...he remembered us with a friendly nod and smile.

Overpriced and underwhelming but with great service

By StationToStation |

Like any mid town New York steakhouse you would expect to pay $50+ for a steak. However, the steaks weren't very flavorful, the starters were recipes from decades ago. The wine selection was very limited. There are a lot of places where you can get way more for your money for less.

Best steak

By Morquecho3 |

Must try!! I loved everything. The carrot flavoring has a hint of nutmeg. Might be a hit or miss for some. The spinach and cheese was amazing. But this restaurant is a must try. Good customer service too!

Amazing Food and Great Staff

By Xhulia |

Stayed at the Omni with a friend and decided to eat here. So Glad! The restaurant is classic steakhouse decor, dark wood paneling, white tablecloths, dimly lit. There's a jar of pickles and peppers on the table to enjoy. Service from Kevin was stellar. Attentive without being fussy. My friend and I both had the filet mignon, cooked perfectly. The mashed potatoes and baked potato were great. The massive carrot served with the entree was seasoned and cooked well. We also enjoyed the delicious side of creamed corn. Enri the restaurant manager made sure to stop by and check on us and he was very nice and courteous, he also gave us some tips on what bars to check out. Loved the food, this is a place all steak lovers should go!

Dinner

By bmwghirl |

Had dinner here last night and loved it! Staff were friendly, polite and super helpful. Portions here in the US are huge and so didn't try a dessert but I did have the calamari to start, then filet for main. This was cooked to perfection and went very well with the glass of merlot ;-) I stayed at the Omni Berkshire and would recommend both to anyone thinking of visiting!

A fabulous meal but quite expensive too.

By Roberts69 |

I ate dinner at "Bobs" whilst staying in New York at the Omni Berkshire Place Hotel. The restaurant has a classy feel and an intimate ambiance and the menu has a good selection of steaks and chops... However it is expensive. The Pork Rib Chop I ordered was one of the cheapest main courses on the menu and that was US$34. Vegetable sides were circa $14 each and my Shrimp Cocktail starter was US$24 (The most expensice Shrimp Cocktail I've ever had in the USA). That said it was all VERY good and the service was first class too... One nice touch I liked was the fact they dressed the jacket potato at the table with the bacon, sour cream, green onions and cheese. Bob's is the perfect place for a nice meal with that someone special or for a business lunch or dinner. Recommended if you have the money.

Great food, service & surroundings but it is expensive!

By shareholdersmeeting |

4 of us dined here (2 adults, 2 kids 15 & 10) on the last night of our holiday in the US, most of which was spent in Florida and New England. As an aside, Manhattan in general is probably one of the most expensive places we've ever visited and it's not just because of weak sterling currently. As a Yorkshireman, this did sour the NYC experience a bit! We each had a starter; Maryland Style Crab Cake (beautiful), Smoked Salmon (v.good), Lobster Bisque and Calamari (both v good also). Followed by a 22oz Bone-in Ribeye Steak, Broiled Salmon, 9oz Fillet and Pork Rib Chop. Each came with the trademark huge carrot and choice of potato. All the main courses were wonderfully cooked and the service was some of the best we've ever experienced. Knowledgeable and attentive staff but not too fussy / intrusive. In addition to the food, we had 1 beer, a bottle of Merlot, an espresso and a couple of soft drinks. The bill came to $380 plus tip so we ended up paying $450 / £350 for what undoubtedly a first class experience but the bill was nevertheless eye-watering. The restaurant is in the premises of the Omni Berkshire Hotel which appears to be a very nice and upscale establishment. I would go here again if in NYC and there was a special occasion. Definitely worth a visit but be prepared for a colossal bill!

Excellent for dinner or happy hour

By Chris T |

I order salmon for dinner while I was their. I also tried their burger via Omni Berkshire room service. Both were really good and the service is excellent. It is a little expensive though. Next time I'll try delivery through UberEats - may be more affordable.

steaks in Omni hotel

By O2555VVmichaels |

This is a truly excellent steak house offering huge slabs of meat, well cooked & absolutely as ordered by the diner. The sides are the usual steakhouse sides, except for a large glazed carrot. The carrot is reasonably good, other sides are excellent. One of the better NYC steakhouses.

Not worth the money!

By PJ &AJ |

We stayed at the adjoining hotel and so decided on our final night to enjoy steak and wine. What a disappointment, the service was dreadful and inattentive, one of our starters didn’t arrive! The wine is mediocre and extortionate, and the giant carrot and dill pickles off putting. The steak was OK but at over $50 you would expect it to be. Of the five days we were in New York this was our worst experience.

Beautiful Breakfast

We had Christmas breakfast here and weren't disappointed. Fabulous service and gorgeous food. Highly recommend

very rude staff

By Paul R |

second time i stayed in hotel an grey haired man behind bar is probably the rudest i’ve ever met he really is not customer friendly at all i’m appalled at his lack of personality

Wine very expensive. Steak and salmon incredibly salty.

By Keith M |

Only ate there once. Did not go back. Meal was incredibly salty. Wine very expensive. Waiter had a strange attitude as to why we did not want to eat any pickles out of a jar that he put before us. He was borderline rude. Dearest wine was $999.....!!!!

Excellent steak, lovely atmosphere

By thelittle1 |

Ate here on our 1st night in NYC as we were staying the hotel, had booked ahead of our trip. Both had steak with the famous glazed carrot, very nice indeed. Portions are huge, so beware when being tempted to order sides or starters too. Extension wine list, quite pricey but then so are the steaks, you get what you pay for. Lovely atmosphere, low lighting, very supper club. Waiters chatty and attentive, would recommend.

Great location with an excellent kitchen

By TravelingTom47 |

Bob's serves as the Omni Berkshire hotel's bar and breakfast area. We thought the bar was excellent with good service but the wine prices were a little dear. We had a fine dinner and breakfast which is why we reference "an excellent kitchen" in the title. Had the best Bleu Cheese Salad ever! Staff was very attentive for the dinner service but less so for the breakfast service. Will stay at the hotel again and enjoy Bob's.

Carrot?? Not a Fan

By Elizabeth K |

I know the carrot is a signature Bob’s thing but it is far from appealing. For the price, the meal I had was far from great. Overdone salmon, a huge glazed carrot and starchy mashed potatoes. Very boring berry cup for dessert. Go elsewhere

quick drink before show

By Writerwife |

a little pricey for a drink...but Cosmo was amazing. We enjoyed the vibe and the waiter was really nice.

Pricey and ok

By Bailey2004 |

We came here for dinner my daughter and I. I ordered the shrimp cocktail app and salad. My daughter had the grilled cheese and was going to share the shrimp. The shrimp arrived with the cocktail sauce already on! Who does that? Well, that ruined it for my daughter. My salad was ok. I had better at Isadora's across the street. Service was ok.

Everything Was Great

By Sharleen N |

We started out with Mulled Manhattans. Delicious. We shared a large steak and there was no extra plate charge, and the steak and potatoes were halved for us. Our sides were Brussels Sprouts, marinated mushrooms (wonderful), and skillet potatoes with pepper gravy. The steak was cooked perfectly and so were the potatoes. The service was quick. Highly recommend.

Nice Lunch

By Ralph F |

My wife and I were hungry and wanted a quick lunch. The staff was very nice. The split the Club Sandwich for us. It included fries. It was more than enough for the two of us. We would eat here again

Over priced breafast but lunch is good for business

By bateso |

I can not believe a morning breakfast meeting ran 72,00 for two this is more thN the St Regis and this is a four star hotel not a 5 star hotel. Bob's has to bring their breakfast like two eggs toast bacon should be 18.00 plus plus not 28 which is almost dinner entree costs. I will say their lunch menu is good but about 15% too high as well, but lunch menu is good and food is good. Jimbo Bateso
