And upstairs front room. I am sure the greenhouse room is pretty in spring. Food very good. Chicken, salmon( was overcooked) and it’s fab Lentils, excellent Brussels sprouts, chicken pate tasty. The fondue looks amazing . Nice but wine list. Highly recommend.

A perfect spot for date night or a family gathering. The den and dining room provide a great ambiance. Menu is amazing top to bottom. The spicy margarita is a must

We were invited there for a birthday party with about 14 other persons. We were in a private room. Our host had organized a pre-fixed menu for $75 but few some people had to order outside because of some food constraints. To our dismay, the bill came up $170 per person !!! They basically double dipped by charging full price for any appetizer, entree or desert ordered outside the pre-fixed menu while still charging $75 for everybody. In addition, the waiter was pouring wine in every glass and opening bottles without asking if we were OK with it, ending up with 8 bottles of wine and many full glasses on the table when we left. Unacceptable!!!! And my steak ordered rare, came well too cooked. Such a bad experience on every account

We had Thanksgiving dinner at Bobo. Biggest problem was the room was so cold we had to wear our coats while eating. The food was just "ok" Offerings for the Thanksgiving menu were traditional turkey, stuffing, cranberries, etc or Salmon, or Hanger Steak. Our group tried all three and decided the turkey dinner was the best but still ho-hum. Two in our group did the wine pairing and it was good. Also can recommend the dessert - the pumpkin pie was delicious.

This evening's destination was Small's Jazz Club, nearly next door to Bobo's. My wife and I had been enjoying our walk around Greenwich Village, and came across Bobo and a sign saying "Happy Hour 5-7. $1 oysters". We needed no more urging. The entrance is below street level, and we found ourselves in a cozy little bar. We ordered a dozen oysters, and while they were excellent Virgina oysters, there was a bit of a service glitch as it took a long time to get them. No matter. The second dozen were just as good as the first. We then ordered a few small plates, the rabbit terrine, the charred leek salad - which was a revelation. So simple, but oh, so good! Finished things up with salmon rillettes, and Ahi Tuna Tartare. All loaded with flavor and delicious. Coupled with a lovely bottle of Lafond Chardonnay, it was an enjoyable dining experience.

Bobo is great for a romantic dinner. It's a converted house and it's absolutely charming. For vegetarians there are many options. The brussel sprouts were out of this world. Seasoned and charred to perfection. There is a super interesting carrot dish with a curried carrot puree, roasted or grilled carrots finished with raw carrots strips on the top. This dish was unique and super delicious. For those who eat meat, the lamb and salmon were excellent. Service was great. Atmosphere was charming.

We walked in @ 8pm on a Saturday night for our 8pm restaurant and were sat immediately. After reading some of the reviews I worried about when we would be seated but again, ti was right away. We had a small round table with the computer/silverware station behind us but really, didn't bother either of us. Our server was wonderful and gave us time to decide on a bottle of wine and dinner. If you are in a rush, calm down, enjoy the timing. They have a sizable list of French wines and we found one that was delicious. The bread serving is small but refills are easy to obtain. Water glasses are constantly full. We shared a Citrus Cured Fluke Carpaccio - the levels of flavors enhanced the thin layers of fish and the freshness of the ingredients really stood out. I had a pork loin special - the pork was so tender, delicious and cooked rare that I had to ask what cut it was since I had never had a pork loin prepared this way, but it melted in my mouth. Again, the freshness and seasonal varieties of ingredients were the true shining moments of the dish, My husband had the Steak au Poivre Vert which he also enjoyed - full of flavor and the homemade fries on the side were perfectly crisp. We received desserts for our anniversary which completely topped off a night of delicious, light and refreshing food. Our server was sweet, helpful and didn't try and rush us out. We had a wonderful night here and would advise to make reservations quickly!

Great friendly staff, some items better than others only downside get ready to shout during brunch it is LOUD

What more can you ask for? It's a beautiful room, excellent and imaginative menu, fine service. We will go back - especially in the Summer when the patio opens

Cute, Funky restaurant with a stuck up maître d. The food whether it be fish or meat was cooked to perfection but everything else on the plate either did not blend well or was way too salty. The octopus dish was salty, the ceviche was left with too much citrus liquid making it overpowering. The salmon main was delicious but the yogurt accompaniment did not mix well and was not tasteful. The prices were outrageous for the amount of food you got. All and all we would not go back.

BOBO is my main "go-to" for meetups in the West Village! It has the most charming french country vibe. The food is excellent as is the ambiance. They have a great happy hour, which goes from 5pm -7pm every day! The drinks are very reasonably priced and really wonderful. I would be remiss if I didn't also mention that the staff at BOBO is superb. Service and hospitality are very important to me and they get a 5-star rating.

You have to go down stairs from the sidewalk to get in. Then you are in the bar area. Then, you have to walk up a long flight of stairs to get into the dining area. Then, if you are willing to walk a few more steps up, you get to a lovely covered outdoor patio that is very cool when there is a breeze. It is a beautiful setting in the middle of downtown Manhattan. The service was excellent. There were ten of us, so that must have been difficult. I began with an octopus salad with roasted vegetables, raisins and pine nuts. Normally, I would flinch at that, but it was very tasty. I then had a duo of duck as my main course. It came with a roasted duck breast with nuts and then a braised duck leg. The dish came with other sides. Plenty of food, all tasted delicious! Lastly, I had dessert: home made chocolate chip cookies with Nutella ice cream. This is my fault - I should not had ordered it, because it was fantastic and I ate all of it! A great NYC restaurant - I recommend it.

Last summer on a rare evening out without the kids, my wife and I were walking through the Village and stumbled upon Bobo where we had a delicious drink at the cozy bar downstairs. A few weeks later, we returned to Bobo for dinner, and we enjoyed a lovely dinner on the outside terrace. The menu is very French influenced, but has plenty to offer whether you are in the mood for fish, duck, pasta...shellfish. We enjoyed the meal so much that we've since returned several times and have enjoyed each dining experience. The staff is always friendly, there isn't a bad seat in the house, the wait staff is knowledgeable about what they are serving and the overall ambiance is great for a lovely, quiet meal with great food and drinks. In NYC, there are thousands of places to choose from, but Bobo has become our "go-to" place for date night.

Wonderful food and knowledgeable, attentive service. Cozy, quaint atmosphere great wine selections and they have happy hour.

Going to this restaurant always feels special because of the the brownstone location. Originally, a couple of stylish friends who are originally from France suggested this restaurant. The food is an assortment of classic French dishes that always seem fresh and appropriate to the season. This restaurant has become one of my go-to restaurants when I want to get together with friends in a setting that feels homey but sophisticated. Every friend I've ever taken here has loved this restaurant.

I only have good praise for everything about Bobo, our experience was just top notch from start to finish. I got married in New York last week, and had been in email contact with Bobo beforehand to organise my reception dinner. Grace was extremely helpfull in sending through menu options ahead of time and reserving the private dining room, we were able to drop off some gift bags ahead of the night for staff to set up to a seating plan. When we arrived on our wedding night with our guests I was blown away by the sheer beauty of the private dining room - it is just gorgeous! absolutely perfect decor for the evening we had in mind. I was even more excited when I saw the private little rooftop terrace where we had cocktails before dinner. Cocktails are gorgeous! We even had our own bathroom with a bathtub and could play our own music! Our waiter Roman looked after us so well all night, we were left to our own devices but everything came out with perfect timing. The food - so delicately presented but with such strong flavours - delicious french cuisine , wonderful choice of wine to match. I honestly cant even put into words how happy I am we choose Bobo for our event - it will stick in my memory for a long time to come. If you are wanting a private, intimate group space with a touch of class but at a very reasonable price for the level of service offered then I HIGHLY RECCOMMEND Bobo. Even if you are just wanting a table in the dining room or a drink in the downstairs bar - DO IT ! Fantasticly located in the West Village. Thanks again to all staff !! :):):):)

You need to go down some steps to get to this place. When we entered, everyone was speaking French. The biggest dining room is upstairs, but they let us sit at a nice table on the first floor. The wine bar is extensive. Service was very attentive and friendly. The salad was excellent. The sassy chicken took a little while to cook, but it was well worth waiting for. It came with pureed potatoes and Brussels spouts. It was delicious. My husband had the duck, which was also excellent. Tart of the day was apple and was really tasty. By the time we left, the place was really busy.

We really enjoyed our time at bobo, a bit over hyped. Mussels are a must have and the short rib is fantastic. We found it hard to choose our meal the waiter was quite helpful. I will go again as I enjoyed the ambiance and location.

Two middle aged couples had dinner at Bobo. The food was fabulous and they paid attention to special requests as one of our party is Vegetarian. There are lots of steps which we didn't mind. There is a table in the back which is near the windows which we moved from as there was some sort of weird vibration. The staff could not have been more accommodating. It was a Monday night and they were not as busy as they usually are. The environment was very pleasant and we look forward to eating there again. The food was excellent.

Two women and a child for Sunday morning Brunch. Sat at a Banquet which allowed the child to squirm as much as she wanted without bothering anyone else. Nice menu but not extraordinary except for the ambience.

Came here with three other friends on a Friday evening around 7:30 for dinner. We had no reservation but the restaurant does set aside tables for walk-ins. A nice group let us take their larger table in the corner so we had space. There’s bar seating as well. The overall vibe is cozy and for restaurant week, the dinner was $45 for three courses. Not everyone was required to participate in Restaurant Week. I got the artichokes, the Branzino, and the chocolate mousse. The artichokes were a popular appetizer; the baby gem salad that my friend got was decently dressed. I also tried the gnocchi, which wasn’t as rich as I thought it would be. The Branzino had a nice lentil accompaniment and was nicely cooked. We all really liked the lemon tart. The chocolate mousse was also good and came with sea salt sprinkled on top - it’s wasn’t too sweet, and was light and airy. Credit cards accepted. They have happy hour during the week.

We were just looking for somewhere to eat in the village and saw moulds-frites on the menu. That did it! I'm a connoisseur of sorts of this simple delicious Belgian delicacy. Hana had superb duck plate. What a surprise, absolutely superb food and service. It sounds crazy that moulds-frites would be hard to do properly but. many chefs spoil it by trying too hard and straying from the traditional white wine and simple spices recipe. The fries, OMG the fries, just perfect. Here's the bottom line criterion for us: We'll be going back next New York visit. In this city of a zillion fine restaurants, that is saying a lot. Bobo is cute charming and waiters are excellent. The place has a charming absence, perfect for a date. Go there, I bet most dishes are first class.

My wife and I had dinner at Bobo last weekend and we had a delightful evening. Our Cote-de-Boeuf was exquisitely prepared and the side dishes were simply yummy. Great wine list and fantastic service. We will be back.

Bobo's upstairs garden is gorgeous. Great for a spring night outside. The duck came in a large portion and was delicious! Service was very friendly and quick. Highly recommended.

Whenever we're in NYC, we have dinner at Bobo and we're never disappointed. The food is always delicious, and appears to change seasonally. The atmosphere drips charm -- the same way our favorite European restaurants manage to feel elegant and timeworn at the same time. We're especially fond of their small, rooftop dining room. (Normally it's open to the stars. Temporarily, it's covered due to nearby construction.)

We were looking for a nice place to have brunch/lunch in Greenwich Village. However, when we went there it was five minutes to close the kitchen, so we asked if it was possible to have brunch and the manager said yes, no problems. But, as soon as we were sitting, the waitress came to take the order like we were in a rush, so we ordered, ate and paid in 10 minutes. I know it was nearly closed but it was really uncomfortable.

the manager Galil save the bad food with his kindness and presence. Food was so mediocre Ravioli was pure salt Beef Tartare cover with mayo too thick cutes, we had to chew ( like a steak) 0 flavor. Fries were soft. Tuna tartare had 0 taste no spices obviously frozen. Trout was sooo dry Risotto was delicious xx Mussels ok but no taste Steak ok Desserts where 0 apple not cooked dough "doughi" Creme brûlée sooo sweet!!!! What a desastrous cooking, chef !!!!! What a pitty! What s waste of time and money.

Came here for dinner on a recent trip to NYC to visit family. It's almost easy to miss since there's a little sign and you have to go into almost a basement into this very quaint bar and then they take you upstairs to the actual restaurant. There's a garden section which is probably a bit nicer during the day when it's warm out but in the evening you could barely tell the difference between the garden and the rest of the restaurant so we chose not to wait the extra half an hour and sit in the main dining room. The ambiance here is very charming and romantic. It feels a bit like you're in old world Paris. Our waiter was very nice and in a funny way very theatrical. We ordered the leek salad with hazelnuts and truffle dressing which was pretty tasty then muscles which were decent but I would have preferred they had a bit more broth, steak tartar which was ok but a bit chewy and then the sea-bass that came in like an iron skillet with herbs and pure and was probably the best dish. Very tasty. Even though we didn't love all of the dishes, overall it was a very good experience, good food and great ambiance. Very charming place.

My mum and I had our final vacation meal here after spending four days in NYC together. It was a gorgeous evening so we sat outside. The food was absolutely perfect. My mum had the Octopus and a salad and I had the daily special - pork cheeks. The sever was helpful and knowledgeable and the atmosphere lovely. I'd highly recommend.

Reserved a table upstairs in the "restaurant" rather than the bar type area downstairs. Good ambiance and good service throughout the evening. The Boullabaise, Lamb and Steak that we ordered as main courses were excellent (as well as the spicy Margarita we had as an aperitif). Definitely at the pricey end, but certainly a restaurant we'll return to in future visits to New York.

Good food in a lovely relaxed atmosphere. The staff were so friendly and helpful too. I shall recommend it to any friends visiting NYC.

Never thought we can find a fine dinning restaurant around the district . A big surprise for a Parisien to find a French tasty restaurant in this Greenwich where we were for a Jazz session inSmalls jazz Club. The service were excellent, the Cabernet Sauvignon from Paso Robles California excellent The salade like a salade was wonderful. Steak NY style was great. What a fabulous experiment is this Thanks BOBO . Recommend to everybody.

This place was recommended by another spot whose kitchen had just closed. The food was great, drinks were awesome, and the waitstaff was super. The only drawback was the music was simply too loud. I would still go back.

We didn't have a reservation, and without question, we were welcomed by some of the friendliest people we met in NYC. Just "come on in, of course we can accommodate you!" and not at a table next to the kitchen either. Nice romantic lighting (we were on the top floor) and an excellent meal. We had the escargot to start (wonderful garlic butter lemon sauce), and I had the black sea bass while my husband had a steak. Honestly, I was too wrapped up in my own meal to notice his. It wasn't an inexpensive meal, but comparably priced and reasonable for the quality. Excellent service and an excellent find. We hadn't planned to stop here, but we will definitely be going back!

Bobo was a perfect choice for a birthday dinner for my BF. He requested French. This restaurant has a lovely vintage romantic vibe since it is housed in an Edwardian (I think) townhouse. You enter on the basement/bar level and we were greeted by two very friendly hosts. The bar looked cool, but we skipped it since they were able to seat us even though we were early for our reservation. The main dining room is romantically low-lit and features an eclectic array of chandeliers and wall art. There is also a really pretty outdoor dining patio and a small upstairs bar. The place was full and the crowd was completely mixed which made for great people watching. The service was excellent- our sever was attentive and funny, but not overbearing and the sommelier was helpful in finding a nice bottle in our price range. And the most important part- the food- for appetizers we had a simple salad and the chilled pea soup. Both were light and delicious. For mains-he had the steak and I had the fish special. Both were very good. The preparations were classic, no over produced plates or molecular gastronomy. Just good French food. We would definitely recommend this restaurant.

Walking by after having dinner nearby, we were entranced by the cozy feel of this place. The lower level was dimly lit, charming and romantic. The top floor has a retractable roof for warm weather enjoyment. We will be back to sample the food for sure!

Handy village location but congested and noisy bar area. Food was good but pretty expensive as was the wine. There are better places to try.

We went to Bobo to judge for ourselves since ratings are inconsistent. The waitress came to our table to get our dinner order three times in the space of 15 minutes even though we told her we wanted to eat at a leisurely pace. We were early for our reservation and the restaurant was not crowded. We sat outside since the weather was warm. If you put your arm on the table expect it to stick to the surface. Considering the lovely inside environment this came as quite a surprise. Food was okay and nothing unique. We live locally and eat in NYC quite often and believe there are many better french restaurants in Manhattan with better food and far better service, some being quite close to Bobo. Don't waste your money or your time.

Went to bobo for drinks after exploring Greenwich Village, great service, friendly quiet bar underneath a restaurant. Not cheap but where is in NYC these days.

We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves in Bobo. The staff are friendly, fun and attentive. The meal was superb and the atmosphere vibrant.

We had a group of 7 for a Birthday celebration. The food ,Service and atmosphere were all excellent. The warm and cosy dining room was perfect on a chilly night. It would be a perfect Valentines Day spot. They also have private rooms for larger groups. The wine list is decent and well priced. The service was prompt, even though they were quite busy . Our Waiter was attentive and the manager stopped by to check up on us. Do not leave without trying the artichokes ,they are life changing. The oysters were also a crowd favorite. The entrees were all exceptional. We will definitely be back.

we spent Christmas evening at Bobo's and it was a very nice experience. The place is well decorated and although it is a big place, it doesn't feel that way. We had a cosy table upstairs and a friendly waiter. The food was excellent, very tasteful and original dishes. It is well worth its price. We would recommend this restaurant to anyone!

So in the sub level you will find this charming bistro with really good vibes, nice ambience, mood lighting, and decent eats. The portions aren’t huge but be forewarned they are potent and not shy with the butter. Relatively speaking a dinner for two with a couple libations cost us a little under $100 with tip. The horseradish crusted salmon is surprisingly good.

Probably not their best day, managed to spill a tray of drinks over our table, got the bill totally wrong but we would still go again. The food was great and the atmosphere nice and relaxed. The upstairs garden is a great place to chill out after walking the hot streets of New York.

I checked into my hotel on 23rd street and took the train downtown, walking back later. I was very pleased with my meal, a 3 course dinner for $45: an excellent salad, a tasty if modest portion of Branzino, and a lemon tart. Not too bad if a price for New York. Casual but classy atmosphere and good service.

My sister and I decided to walk around West Village around 7:30PM on a Friday. We stumbled upon bobo and although we didn't have a reservation, the manager/greeter was very nice and accommodating. We were seated in the upstairs dining area and it was quaint and beautiful. The service was fantastic. All of the waiters were very polite. I ordered the duck duo and it was the best duck I ever had. My sister and I split the ravioli appetizer and it was also delicious. For dessert we ordered the beignets -- also fantastic! There is not one bad thing I can say about this restaurant. You must go!

My fiancé and I enjoyed a beautiful dinner at this lovely "gem" of a restaurant in the West Village. It was rather quiet for a Saturday night, but that made the service, and attentiveness of the staff, even better. The food was fresh, seasonal and absolutely delicious, and we loved every bite. The burrata and watermelon salad was the highlight of the meal. I'd highly recommend this spot for those looking for great meal with a romantic, cool ambiance.

The food as always was excellent. The service was superior. The pianist was also excellent and his choice of tunes played was very relaxing and comforting. It sounded like my playlist from my Iphone. Michael (manager) is doing a great job.

it was my 50th so we hosted my family of 15 and they gave us the entire cozy third floor that had its own balcony and bathroom. pre-arranged price-fixed menu - all excellent. food was really great. the staff was Phenomenal! sooo attentive (we were loud, and toward the end, fairly robust). super quaint location. i can't say enough nice things.

Great meal!!! My son was excited about trying this Restraunt heard great things about it. I was concerned about the "portion". This Restrauant blew the Myth away very good portions and everyone walked away full. Of course three people had the duck which was recommended by other reviews and it was incredible. I split the prime rib with one of the kids and if you thought prime rib was a dying dish this Restrauant brought it back to life. It was exceptional!! The Last dish was the mussel and that too was fantastic. Foodies know that over cooked mussel will leave you chewing tires they were cooked to perfection. Reminded me of the mussel we had in Brussels over the holidays. I highly recommend this place and frankly the four appetizers and three desserts we had were awesome as well. Hope to get back to this gem.

Particularly good meal, everything was a ten. Down four steps to a loud bar scene for the thirty something crowd, then up ten steps to a separated picturesque dining area that was perfect. The menu is limited but the Grilled Octopus appetizer was a stand out, and the entrees of Lamb Shoulder, Trout Almandine, and Duck Confit were something to rave about. Great wait staff, excellent service. The pace of the meal was relaxed and we enjoyed every morsel.

I have been to Bobo several times. First, the positive: excellent food and wine choices, very kind and attentive servers, beautiful atmosphere. The negative: quite loud with nothing to muffle the overly loud talkers, too dark to read the menu without holding the candle over it; the profiteroles were delicious, but because of the darkness, I couldn't tell that the ice cream was scooped on the top instead of being inside each profiterole as they are normally served.

we popped into this restaurant for dessert and a drink. It was a wonderful surprise, quirky décor, excellent plum tart and some lovely wine plus a complimentary small plate of delicious little madelaines. Our waiter, Jonathan was a delight, answering our many questions about the menu even though we only had pudding! he waxed lyrical about the garden room and we moved up there when a table became available. A charming candlelit venue. I would recommend this friendly and atmospheric venue with excellent service from the whole team,

If French bistro wlout attitude is what u want, then this is the place. From phone call attempting to book same day table (after seeing no availability on open table) to server (Maggie) to quality of cocktails, food (beet chips, gem salad, trout, cassoulet ,tarte)......you couldn’t have received friendlier and more gracious treatment. Prices very reasonable and atmosphere lovely. Slow service, at first, was more than made up for small courtesies and attention. Relax and enjoy. First time trying out but won’t be the last!

I went to this restaurant with a family group of 50+ people for a wedding. We had one floor of the small building to ourselves and other floors were open to the public. The food and drinks were great and the service was excellent in spite of the place being full. We had a limited brunch menu for our private party but everything was really really good!!! If I lived closer I would definitely be a regular. You need to go here.

French country with a kitch twist, chandeliers, fireplace and some great wallpapers. Environment is rich, service is excellent and food is great. Extremely accommodating to dietary restrictions. The bass and the chicken were perfect. Excellent experience

What a find! One of those iconic French West village restaurants, oozing charm with its tasteful and eclectic décor, good food and EXCELLENT service. I cannot overemphasize the attentiveness of the staff, they make you feel special and coddled. Although we don't live downtown, will trek down to Bobo's again. A lovely evening from start to finish.

Finding this restaurant was a little difficult for me. The restaurant is at the corner of 10th Street (at 7th Avenue South) but you have to go down a few steps to enter it. After eating there I was very disappointed with the meal and very surprised that it was given a high food rating of 24 in the Zagat guide. The unusual soup of the day, made up of sweet potatoes and apples ($!2), was thick, a little tart, without the recognizable taste of any ingredient. A bad start to the meal. I was having dinner at the bar so I ordered the fried calamari off the bar menu ($8). I have had it served to me two times better elsewhere. My main course ($34) was a combination of duck breast and duck leg confit (the latter had a less than pleasing taste). The service was friendly but at times the bartender (at the smallest of the few bars there) and one of the waitresses did not seem very knowledgeable about the food served.

We stopped for happy hour..5-7. Rosé was fresh and crisp. Oysters were tasty. We were taken to a corner table in the garden area for our dinner. Perfectly cooked trout, lamb with corn was great. We also enjoyed the watermelons/ heirloom tomato salad. A nice garden area to enjoy on a perfect New York City evening. All staff were most accomadating and pleasant. Thank you for a super evening.

We ate at Bobo on Friday evening. It was a lovely little restaurant recommended to us by a friend. The food was wonderful (I had a pork chop special and my wife had duck done two ways) and the waiters offered excellent service throughout. My only frustration was that the dining room was incredibly dark. With the lights dimmed and no small wall lights near our table we both had to really strain our eyes to see what we were eating. Besides the light I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this to others.

We ate here on our final night in New York after having spotted the place earlier in our stay. The restaurant is very classily decorated, giving a great ambience, which is added to by the helpful and friendly front-of-house staff. We ordered between us two meals and two sides. One of the main courses and one of the sides however were not warm at all, leading to them having to go back. Sadly, the pasta and lobster dish was simply reheated, leaving the lobster like rubber - not what we expected of a high-end restaurant. After being sent back again we got a fresh plateful, but the edge was very much taken off our experience. The other meal was very nice indeed though, and the wine delicious. Overall, not quite up to the standards expected given the cost - it certainly wasn't a cheap dinner, and for the price we expected it to be perfect. We probably won't head back next time we're in New York, sadly.

My wife and had our wedding dinner in Bobo's extremely inviting and cosy private dining room. A perfect setting if you are less than 20 people, we were 13. The room and the surroundings are great, there is a little terrace that is yours to use and a private restroom. The food was some of the best that I have had and the service was excellent. I highly recommend it!

This restaurant has very good food. It is cozy and the piano player was an added bonus. The foods that my party loved best were the unusual cheese burger, French fries, duck and fish. Cons...The bus boy kept attempting to pour water into a guests vodka. He was kind of persistent and he did Iin fact do it ,even when told not to. We were nice about it but wondered why he kept trying, possible language barrier or he was having a bad night.

Visiting from the Uk. Wonderful meal. Octopus and a salad to start, hanger steak and chicken for our main course and lemon tart and cheese. All of it perfectly cooked and delicious. Octopus and hanger steak outstanding and the radish salad that came with the chicken was inspired. Will return as soon a we can.

My wife and I celebrated her birthday at Bobo last Saturday. We arrived for a 6:30pm reservation and were promptly seated in the upstairs dining room at a cozy table near the fireplace. The decor and ambiance was quite nice - it felt like we were dining at the home of a French aristocrat. We started with the Fois Gras and Octopus for appetizers and both were tasty. For our mains I had the skate fish special and she had the duck. Both were delicious, but we agreed that the duck was an amazing dish and highly recommend it. For dessert, I had the flambe and she had the lava cake. Again, both were winners. As for service, our server was very knowledgeable. She gave us good recommendations and did not rush us at all. The sommelier was very entertaining. We chose a Rhone wine for dinner and when he noticed that my wife was polishing off the bottle before our entrees had arrived, he brought us a small complimentary glass of red for each of us "to get us through dinner". That was a very nice touch not often experienced in NYC. Lastly, they brought out my wife's dessert with a birthday candle. I had not reminded them...I simply noted it on my OpenTable reservation. Bobo delivered for me and we will definitely be back.

It took us a bit to get a table for 7. They wanted us each to get 3 courses. However, their upstairs dining room was fairly empty as it was after 10. After a bit of convincing of the friendly host, they sat us. With no meal requirement. We had a mix of drinks and food. The food was a nice surprise. Everything was very good. Especially the watermelon tomato dish. Overall enjoyed it a lot. Service was friendly and fast.

Located over several floors of a West Village town house Bobo is a characterful yet intimate dining experience. We chose to share several plates and sample the excellent Californian wine and digestif list. In my view a great restaurant treats the vegetable accompaniment as well as the main headliner meat dishes and the sprouting broccoli just knocked us out. The octopus was sublime. We enjoyed chatting through our choices with the waiter who was knowledgable and approachable. New York has so much to offer in terms of gastronomy and from our experience Bobo adds to that noble tradition.

In NYC for only 36 hours, we stumbled upon this lovely townhouse restaurant to enjoy some west village vibe after dinner drinks. We couldn't resist the basement cellar feel. Once inside the setting was dark, quaint, and intimate. the carra marble bar top was luxurious. The cocktails are reasonable if you consider that they are all made with top shelf liquor. I can't wait to go back! I will be sure to make an evening out of bobo nyc restaurant with dinner reservations to start and cellar bar to finish. Thank you for a lovely evening!

The restaurant itself is lovely - in an old townhouse with real character. It had a warm, romantic feel. The service was attentive and friendly. The food was not exceptional but was pleasant.

I'm not sure how to explain the menu, but maybe modern French American may be the closest I can come. Definitely has a French background, but not traditional except for a few dishes like the escargot which was very good, and the duck was outstanding! You enter into the basement where there is a very lively and cool bar, and then head upstairs to a very eclectic (in a good way) restaurant! Service was great, and although a bit pricey, not out of line for the quality! You will enjoy!

Having been in hospitality for many years, I can appreciate a great location when I find one - and this is definitely one! The food gave me goosebumps, the service was perfect and the restaurant looked and felt exceptional. You are guarenteed to have a wonderful time here!

Located in the most picturesque old house, this delightful French restaurant was simply wonderful. The service was warm and friendly, the food fresh and delicious. I look forward to the next time,

A west village gem. In a brownstone with multiple floors. The wait staff are wonderful. Everything is exceptionally flavorful. The owner came and talked with us to make sure we enjoyed our meal. I would recommend this for anyone wanting a wonderful NYC meal.

Lovely bistro restaurant. Atmosphere, staff and food all very good and not ridiculous prices. We had moules & frites and Halibut which were all excellent. Wine a bit pricey but it seems the norm in NYC. Shame as would have second bottle but too expensive. Staff very friendly and efficient. Thank you!

we thoroughly enjoyed the antiquity retained in this unique and fabulous restaurant. The staff is knowledgable and have a great sense of humor The menu is innovative and the results are yummy. This is a must try for brunch. I cannot wait to go back

We recently had our intimate wedding at Bobo NYC. The entire experience was magical: from the friendly, wonderful staff to the excellent food and cocktails. Our guests are still telling us how much they loved Bobo and have requested we hold all our anniversary parties there. No detail was too small for them to address and they went above and beyond to ensure we had the time of our lives. They even took it upon themselves to ask the construction workers next door to take their lunch break during our ceremony so we could keep the roof on the patio open while we said our vows. If you are looking for an incredible location for a small wedding or party, Bobo is the perfect place. I can not recommend them enough! Thank you for making our special day spectacular.

The noise from the first level bar almost made me turn around. The hostess had suggested we reserve an upstairs table when I asked about getting a quiet table, so we went in anyway. So glad we did. The garden room was perfect for us, a low noise volume which meant we could talk instead of yell across the table. Our waiter, Bradley, was right on target with his descriptions of the dishes and steered us to a great meal along with the perfect choice of wines. He knew the dishes, was friendly, and like the rest of the staff that took care of us, he was professional. The menu is somewhat limited, but the variety is there - excellent Rainbow Trout, Confit of Lamb Shoulder, Duck Confit and Hanger Steak for the carnivores, there's no lack of options. Desserts (we over-ordered because they all sounded great) - were big enough to share and my SO fell in love, sight unseen with the pastry chef. This is definitely a neighborhood gem that even two couples from NJ could claim for their own.

I visited with my family, so we ordered various appetizers and entrees. Unfortunately, two of the dishes, the risotto and the pasta with meat sauce, were very salty. The remaining entrees, which included tuna, were good but not memorable. Appetizers, on the other hand, were yummy. Service was very friendly and attentive. Thank you to our waitress for the complimentary sparkling wine to celebrate our family event (birthday). As for the ambiance, it was an intimate space with great energy.

Downstairs is a young, noisy bar scene. If you're looking for adult fare, then navigate the narrow, dark stairs up to the main dining room. Tables are set with white linen, gleaming glassware--a promise that the menu honor. Service is adult, too, rendered by sometimes stagey, old-school waiters, who can be genuinely helpful with advice on dishes and wines. Owned by one of the Village's most successful restaurant families.

Bobo is in a most delightful townhouse setting, in a stimulating and active part of NYC. Located in a young and vibrant part of town, the bar scene down a few steps is vibrant and upstairs dining rooms are cozy and colorful. Menu has good variety and service attentive and knowledgeable. The owner David chatted with us at the end of the envening, very passionate about his establishment and the phenomenal wine list.

We dined here to celebrate my husband's birthday and Bobo lived up fully to all of the great reviews. Excellent food, attentive - but not overbearing - service from beginning to end. We enjoyed burrrata and tomato salad for starters along with a mussels special that was to die for - you could drink the sauce! For mains, I had salmon with kale and my husband had the duck. Both were just a taste sensation - we enjoyed every bite. We also both noted afterwards that even the coffee was great - which is not always true in even the finest of restaurants. Bobo was a lovely discovery and we will be back.

Four of us went for Dinner here last night. When we arrived (about 6:30), it was about 1/3 full. BY the time we left, it was packed. The menu is short. About seven or so appetizers and five or six entrees plus a special for the day. They had some imaginative cocktails. The Steak Tartar was absolutely fabulous, and amazing. My wife had fresh oysters. I had the duck, which was excellent. My wife had the scallops over risotto. Also very very well done. Our dinning partners has the Atlantic Cod and the Bouillabaisse. For appetizers one had fresh oysters and the other fried oysters and heirloom tomatoes. We all passed on dessert. My only complaint was it took all long time to get the bill. Once we had it it was sticker shock. For the two of us the dinner was $180 (we had three drinks between the two of us). However, well worth it. We would definitely go back again.

We have been a group of about 25 celebrating a christmas diner at the bobo. The food was great and the dedicated room atop provided a wonderful atmosphere. The only point I missed was a little more attention on refilling the water glasses.

Went here as it was recommended by GP On her website. And we'll recommended it was. Lovely little Restuarant in Greenwich with a very relaxed and bohemian feel to it. The food was excellent and have recommended to many friends going to NYC. I will go back !

The place was recommended by friends and the four of us got different dishes. The gnocchi with wild mushrooms was the best I have ever tasted. The vegetarian risotto also. A dug leg was perfectly fried, the wine was good the service fine. Worth a visit!

This is a superbly decorated located with a distinct French influence. Our visit was marred by two large parties - a VERY noisy baby shower and a post wedding party. However we enjoyed a great brunch menu - worth a return visit withiout the baby shower!

Great location and very cool interior. I thought the food was average as well as service was average. We did enjoy sitting at the bar before dinner. Bar tender was great and had a good variety of cocktails It is a romantic setting (a little tight at the tables). Glad we tried it

Bar downstairs and dining upstairs. Great food - steak tartare, mussels, steak frites, foie gras were all excellent. Solid wine list too. Friendly waiters round out the picture. Judging by other tables it's a good spot for a romantic dinner too.

We met friends of ours from out of town on Memorial Day for Brunch at Bobo. It was very quiet when we arrived and didn't get much busier. I don't think people think of restaurants serving brunch on a holiday Monday. Our server Hanna was an excellent, friendly and outgoing server who took outstanding care of us. The menu is excellent and reasonably priced. We started out with fresh coffee which was brewed to perfection and cups were refilled frequently. We all ordered entrees which were served in a leisurely/timely manner and perfect for our conversations. The food was hot, well presented, portions were ample and the tastes were delicious. Great atmosphere, nice table, great service and excellent food. You can't ask for much more than this!!! We will be back again. This was not our first brunch at Bobo and won't be our last!

Casual relax atmosphere with a wodden beams ceiling basement Happy hours priced sauvignon blanc: Generous serve, classic citrus flavour with a nice refreshing acidity Moules marinieres or white wine parsley garlic sauce mussels: Nice creamy well rounded sauce and small tasty mussels with a generous serve of good french fries Overall a nice place to chill out and have a nice dose of hood food and drinks

I was in NYC for business and was able to meet up with family. Conveniently located right off 7th Ave. Had the Lamb Confit for two which they nicely made for one. Good wine and very nice decor, ambiance.

Walking down the steps from atop the sidewalk tells you this location has been there awhile. The ambiance both downstairs in the bar area as well as upstairs is like to trip to great find in Burgundy or Provence! Stunningly quaint while elegant and soothing. We were hoping the experience itself was as dramatic. It was far more! One of the best fine dining experiences in every regard that we have had in our many years of traveling internationally. Being in the wine business ( winery owners in Sonoma County) has made us somewhat dificult to impress but we were in short, BLOWN AWAY! To top it off, the staff was as nice as they were professional and efficient. Can't wait to get back to NYC and we will run to get there.

We came in on a Wednesday night with no reservation, and an almost-full house. At first, the hostess didn't know if she'd be able to accommodate us, but worked diligently for a few minutes to check with various managers, and eventually found us a table upstairs in the garden. Already, the customer service was off to a good start. Our waitress was equally helpful, and provided several food recommendations. As for the food, it was delicious, and the portion was fairly large. We had a very good all-around experience at Bobo. I'd return.

Close tables, with a good vibe. Knowledgeable staff. The food was yummy. Had a big slab of delicious pate. One order enough for 3. Good wine list. Everyone's dinner was exceptionally good. Highly recommended

What's better than a choice of 6 special drinks from the happy hour menu on a hot early evening at Bobo's in the Village? We were thirsty and a teensy bit hungry and all the street level bars were jam-packed and super noisy. A sign directed us to Bobo's upstairs garden room. What a lovely, breezy sanctuary. It's as if you are sitting in a room as there are stone walls all around. You can see the trees and other greenery by looking up. The ceiling is open but with pieces of fabric protecting you from the sun. It's not easy to find this kind of space and quiet anywhere in NY. We arrived around 5 pm and the place filled up fairly soon after that. Very nice bathrooms too. The drinks were $6 (not bad for NY) from 5:00 to 7:00. Special bar food menu fine but not as good a bargain. We selected a cheese plate and a small bowl of olives both of which we're delish. Can't report on dinner as we did not stay for that.

in June we held a baby shower at Bobo for my daughter. At the last minute we changed the reservation to Bobo's and the reservation team and staff made our event special! The drinks were creative and colorful. The variety of the menu selections accommodated all guests and provided special selections for the guest of honor. The outside deck was excellent to sit and chat with guests and a good space for photos. We forgot music and the staff even provided just the right background. Every request we made before and during the shower was accommodated. Thanks to the Bobo team!!

If ambience alone was enough to win a Michelin star then Bobo would have one. Alas food and service count and there Bobo was truly lacking. Perhaps it was last but one day of restaurant week but everything cooked this evening reminded me of the old PanAm ( remember them) joke...the world’s most experienced airline serving the world’s most experienced chicken. Except in this case it was the salmon. The oldest, driest and unflavourful I have had in a long time ( and I am 66). The chicken was below passable, the gazpacho slightly too acidic. Items made earlier, however, showed that they know how to make good food; the pate and the deserts were very good. So I guess, by mid August, the heat and boredom of a month of restaurant week had got to them. It would be fine, if it didn’t cost us, with drinks more than $130, but it did. And the service was so tired, that it was sad. Boohoo Bobo. Wake up and smell the coffee or you’ll the many restaurants in NYC have who have disappeared because of arrogantly believing they were par excellence!

Lovely little restaurant in Greenwich. The staff are friendly and attentive. The food is excellent and the atmosphere is very pleasant. Drinks are very good and original too (the cocktail menu is amazing). The area is nice, and I recommend to go to Little Branch after the dinner for a drink (just a few blocks away). I was there with colleagues but will definitely go back with friends and/or family.

It was good services and tentatively attended by our server. We started with the Foie Gras and Escargo but had to send back the Escargo because it didn't taste good at all. We changed it to the Grilled Octopus and amazed how tasty it was. We had grilled salmon and duck breast for entrees, then had the fried beignet as desserts.

We arrived when they opened at 11, so I don't know how crazy it is later in the day. The place is deceiving from the outside, but quite bright and cherry inside. Everything on the menu sounded delicious, I opted for the lobster omelette which was perfect. They have an interesting bar menu, but we didn't order cocktails. It's not cheap, but reasonable for the quality and preparation.

Small house right off the corner of 10, this is a great spot for gathering, great bar selections and a fantastic menu! The bar is downstairs where you are greeted to check reservations for dinner. For this type of building in NYC the bar is rather large with low ceiling a decorated nicely. THe restaurant upstairs is "Paris like with close tables and a narrow room. THe service at the bar and in the restaurant was exceptional and entertaining. The food was fantastic! Portion sizes NYC small but well done. Escargot was done totally different and enjoyable and the mussels in a Dijon Sause were so tasty a loaf of bread was not enough for the dippage! Highly recommend you try this for a great evening and dining experience.

Our party had a beautiful, delicious, relaxed dinner. The signature dishes (hamburger, tongue, cheek, and bourbon flights; duck) were excellent, but so were the others (scallop risotto) we sampled. Waitstaff were enthusiastic but not pushy, and very accommodating (we were 8 adults and one young child).

The character and ambiance are wonderful. It's located on multiple floors of an old West Village building. The service was supreme; very friendly staff. But the food should match the other elements, and it just doesn't here. Two of the recommended entrees, sea scallop risotto and duck duo, were underwhelming. All the deserts at my table were subpar and only one appetizer, a cheese puff pastry was a success.

This is a terrific place to eat...quaint french restaurant with a wonderful bakery basket, delicious eggs benedict and cappuccino! The service was excellent! If you are planning a trip to NYC, you won’t want to miss it!

We went here recently for a group dinner for a friend's post wedding celebration. The restaurant offered a prix fixe menu which was very nice. The salad and steak I had were both lovely. The steak was enormous! It feels like you are eating in someone's home the way this place is laid out, which was a really neat feel.

We went initially to have just drinks, but then stayed for a light dinner and the food was superb! Fresh, tasty oysters, fried artichokes, great aperos, as well as really good mojitos!

Went there about a year ago and loved it. Went back recently and were disappointed. The menu totally changed - it is now a basic French Bistro - Food was good but not memorable. The main issue was that the menu was very limited and there was only 1 special. No veggie options and when we were there, the only fish entree was salmon- good but boring.. Service was pleasant but just OK Drink prices are high - even for NY

Visited this restaurant on a Tuesday night without reservations. They have live entertainment later in the week which would have added a needed spark to this place. The first floor bar area was dark and empty while the upstairs dining area was dark and empty (plus 10 people). The downstairs bartender seemed disinterested while the upstairs waiters were friendly. They all reminded me of the staff at its sister restaurant Claudette's. I probably would have awarded less stars if I had to remain downstairs. The food served was satisfactory.

Amazing, food was excellent, we had oysters & 5 other dishes..service was great, cocktails fantastic and atmosphere a real hidden gem. Initial impressions from the outside suggested something very different so we were pleasantly surprised by the lovely light back conservatory area & the fresh food.

We went for brunch on Sunday and were not disappointed. The location was near where we were staying and the building/restaurant quaint. You went down a short flight of stairs to the reception and bar. We did not have a reservation and they were able to seat us promptly. We went upstairs to the second floor front of building which overlooked the street. Service was excellent and the brunch menu excellent. We had great food, great service and great mimosas!

The butter that came with the bread did not taste like butter, it seemed neither salted nor sweet, and seemed to me to have virtually no taste. The soup of the day was potato leak soup ($13), a soup that I usually like elsewhere, but here it did not resemble in any way the previous ones had elsewhere. Its texture was different and the taste was not close to the others and did not have a pleasing flavor. My main course was scallops with corn risotto. They served me three ordinary size sea scallops in a bed of risotto. Before tasting it I thought that was a ripoff for $29. Unfortunately it was served at close to room temperature. I told the waitress and she took it back without an apology or a surprise reaction to that having happened. She said that they would make a new one, but after tasting the "new one," I believe they reheated the risotto and replaced the one scallop that I ate. Most of the atmospheric seating area in the restaurant is on the upstairs level. With the kitchen at this restaurant on the downstairs level, the speed with which the plate gets from the kitchen to the diner is hindered by the stairs that the waiter has to take.

My girlfriends and I chose Bobo for a girls' weekend dinner after hearing good things from other friends. We ended up a big disappointed... First, I made the reservation almost two months prior to us visiting, requesting a table near the window as we were celebrating three birthdays and it was larger and more comfortable than the tables. We were seated elsewhere upon arriving and told there was a party of 5 (versus our 4) with a reservation at the same time who would be seated at the open table that I'd wanted. I was fine with that and understood completely, until an hour had passed and still that table sat empty. One of my girlfriends commented to the manager about how disappointed we were at not getting the table we requested and watching no one else use it for the entire night. Soon after, the GM came over to our table, and escorted us to the table we wanted originally with 4 glasses of rose and free dessert. We all agreed this was a nice touch and sweet way of compensating. As for the food, it was just okay. The four of us agreed that we'd had better but that the presentation and decor were beautiful. Two ordered the scallop special, one the salmon and I ordered the gnocchi which to me, who makes her own pasta from scratch, was overcooked and a bit too salty. Overall, it was a lovely evening and the staff did their best, but I probably wouldn't try Bobo again.

Nice restaurant in the West Village. The wine was great. The service friendly. Meat delicious. A recommendation. Also the indoor outside looked cozy.

We chanced upon this restaurant when on our short stay in New York, when eating out in SoHo was top of my priorities. They offered us a lovely cosy table in the downstairs bar area (I later learned they have an upstairs dining room, but since we had no reservation we were seating downstairs.) The atmosphere was buzzing and cosy, just what I look for in a quirky soho restaurant, alike London. The menu choice was varied and everything sounded delicious. All classic or variations on French cuisine. I had a delicious bitter aperitif martini (the waiter recommended as I don't like sweet cocktails!) followed by mushroom raviolini to start, which was divine! For main my friend and I both ordered the scallop risotto, with sides of sprouts and béchamel cauliflower. AMAZING! The service was outstanding - informative and friendly but by no means intrusive. When I return to NYC I will definitely be coming back to BOBO! Or alternatively can you please set up camp in London?...

This restaurant was good. That's it. No overwhelming superlatives - just good. My husband and I went for our 11th anniversary while he was in the City for business. The setting is extremely charming. The service was, well, good. The food (we split the beef tartare app, I got the scallops and my husband got the pork) was - you guessed it - good. Not exceptional or inspiring, but definitely a tasty meal that was well-executed. I guess I was hoping for more based upon the reviews and the prices. Nothing to complain about, it just was good. One thing that was exceptionally delicious - their mixed drink "The Bobo."

We were impressed with the atmosphere and the solicitous service in this lovely little bistro located in a historical town house. We shared several appetizers and they were all tasty, especially the little corn fritters and the crispy artichokes. Our chicken was tender and in a. Tasty light sauce. The seafood linguine was outstanding. The wine list was extensive. They presented our granddaughter with a delicious lemon and meringue tart for her birthday at no extra charge.

The worst experience i had in NYC! The server was rude. The food was not good. But the worst was that they tried to push me out of the restaurant bringing the bill . I made a complain. We were still eating and the server came to say if we could leave .... I never saw something like this. DON'T GO. !!

Food is great and the service outstanding. The wine list needs some improvement but it is not bad. If tou are looking for a goid french foodnin NYC not overpriced thats the place

We were pleasantly surprised to discover Bobo not far from the PATH station in the village. The menu is somewhat limited, but with sufficient choices. We had the heirloom tomatoes and the oysters au gratin as appetizers- both excellent. The lamb shoulder (for 2) was perfectly cooked. Our server was a bit "odd," in terms of his style and humor. That said, we had an enjoyable evening, at a reasonable cost ($170 with tip for 2 people).

Excellent food and service. Took about 10 minutes after they opened to be sat. Eggs Benedict with salmon was outstanding.

We can't believe that we have walked by this place many times, and never really noticed it. We entered down the steps into the charming cozy bar, but then went upstairs to the dining room. It was not busy at 7PM when we went there, and did fill up a bit as we sat in the pretty dining room. It could have been noisy under other circumstances, but we did not experience that. The dining room looks like a lovely Greenwich village townhouse from another era, romantic and warm. The waitstaff is efficient, friendly and helpful without being hovering. THe menu was small and fairly basic, so if you are looking for exciting new dishes, this may not be your place. My date had steak frites and I had the special mussels, which were divine in a cream, white wine, and tarragon sauce. Wine list was also fairly short, but with interesting offerings and not a huge markup. All in all, a real find that we would visit again, and not hesitate to recommend to others.

Good dinner spot. I went with my entire family for a bit of a reunion. The spicy margaritas are insanely delicious. That said, the service is a pretty snobby.

Bobo is great for dinner and we were keen to try out its brunch. Service was disorganized with coffee and cocktails arriving after the food. Waitress friendly, but the whole operation needed more management.

Had such a nice experience here. An absolute hidden gem. We had around an hour to kill before we went to a jazz show nearby and wanted to get a quick dinner. We were just looking around and saw the big sign pointing towards it outside not expecting much. The whole restaurant exceeded expectations with our beautiful seats, excellent food, amazing service and a perfect atmosphere. There was free wifi which worked amazingly. The croquettes, artichoke and crispy potatoes were super tasty.Definitely a well deserved five stars!

Enjoyed a great meal here, waitress was attentive and informative and food arrived in good time. Quite closely packed tables, we were in the garden terrace. Would definitely go back next time we are in NYC. Food was really good, thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience.

Nice place, good food - particularly the wedge salad and lamb. Service is very friendly and helpful. Great spot for a romantic, but reasonably priced dinner.

We had our daughters 25th birthday celebration here and it could not have been nicer. We worked with Rosanna ( the event planner) because we had 8 people. We ate family style and all of the dishes were delicious and plentiful. No one left hungry. The cocktails and wine selection were great. Our waiter and the manager could not have been nicer. My daughter felt so special all night. Thank you everyone for making her day so beautiful.

Had an awesome meal here this past weekend. Really charming brownstone. We sat upstairs in a booth towards the front. I had read reviews that this place was noisy, but the dining area upstairs was not noisy at all. It was intimate and perfect for catching up with old friends. Downstairs was a much livelier, (and younger) scene. The food was really excellent. The fish was prepared perfectly and the salads were huge. Best fried ever. We shared three desserts - all of them were great, although the caramelized bananas with ice cream was really special. Staff was extremely attentive. Overall, a great meal and a great experience. True New York dining experience.

Excellent food, good service and good value. Ate in the den area as there was a private party in the dining room and it was still terrific. A tad noisy at times, but still ok. Gnocchi, octopus, duck confit, hanger steak and trout delicious as was the bread pudding.

I selected BoBo based on Yelp reviews, and once again, thank you. As you go down the stairs, it feels like you have stepped into a quaint place, outside the city limits. Our hostess sat us in the enclosed garden which I loved. Once seated, we had a funny and gracious waiter who served us well through out the evening. We ordered an excellent Meursault and embarked on a delicious culinary journey. Appetizers: 1. Poulpe à la Plancha (octopus) warm bean ragout, tomato marmalade, black olive oil soooo good, the pairing was just right, a perfect match and very well executed 2. Sardines Marinés, Oven-dried tomatoes, torn basil, grilled lemon toast a let down in terms of quantity, pairing and texture. The marinated sardines had a sushi texture, not what we expected and putting it over greens didn't help Entrees: 1. Riostto de Conquilles Saint-Jacques,Seared sea scallops, porcini, asparagus tips, crème fraiche Unbelievable, the risotto was creamy/flavorful and the scallops were cooked perfectly 2. Jarret D’Agneau Braisé au vin Blanc Chardonnay braised Colorado lamb shank, Parmesan polenta, house cured lamb bacon, foraged ramps & mushrooms I thoroughly enjoyed the tender lamb and polenta Side dish:Pommes Frites (Parmesan) with truffle mousse- decadent, delicious and a bit over priced but who cares when they are so good Dessert: Strawberry trifle- served in a glass- it was good, but very little and a let down at $12. Even Le Cirque delivers a more sophisticated dessert at these prices. Overall, I was pleased with BoBo. It offers a great ambiance and delicious food whether you sit in the garden or in the intimate dining room.

I went with a friend for Friday night drinks. Good selection of wine and a buzzy but civilised atmosphere. Great place to start the evening. We actually got through rather more wine than anticipated and ended up staying for dinner as we had missed our dinner reservation elsewhere. We had delicious burgers and the chips were good too.

Very ackward entrance, very dark inside, Food is ok, No Wow factor. The pepper crusted Filet migno is very well cooked but the crust is so thick that ruined, Average perform

I reserved on the web and requested a romantic table for date night. The maitre'd acknowledged to request when we entered and sat us upstairs next to the fireplace. What a charming space! The service was excellent, and the waiter's recommendations were quite on point. He wasn't afraid to steer us away from a dish we asked about, which always adds credibility. The food was terrific. The side of Brussels sprouts with bacon was well worth it, and there were some nice wines by the glass. The only complaint -- I felt a little rushed. I would still come back. Maybe next time I'd order apps then wait to order the main course.

We loved this venue and had s superb table but we did book well in advance. The service was wonderful the food delicious if not a little over priced. Two of the drinks we requested they couldn't do which was surprising as nothing special. Small criticism is the noise level quite high so ask for a table upstairs.

Went there for the first time, during Restaurant week. Good prices for special wines and we ordered the special 3 course meal. It was disappointing, the Scallop Crudo was not very tasty, and the Pasta was overcooked and not al dente. Desert was also overdone and underwhelming. The Corn appetizer was very good and the wine by glass during happy hour was a "deal". Service was good and very friendly. Perhaps the regular menu is much better, I might try again but order from menu and more traditional dishes as i see other reviews.

Good and unique place for Italian food. Dishes and portions relative to what you get in nyc. Unfortunately the manager was incredibly rude and not polite at all. Poor service and not welcoming atmosphere ran our evening . A true shame since the food and setting could delivery so much more.

Took my aunt and a party of 8 here for dinner. Was highly recommended by our concierge. It is small. We were seated on the first floor. It was loud. Overall we all enjoyed our meal. Our server was wonderful. It was a very nice enjoyable meal. However, I wouldn't say it was a "unforgettable" meal. The meal was standard fare and nothing it would go out of my way to buy again.

A good fun restaurant to have dinner in New York. The service was attentive, the food excellent , a buzzy atmosphere. If you can get a table on the roof garden it is the place to be on a warm evening in New York. Highly recommended.

I went to Bobo with my family. The place is amazing and we got a table at the garden, a cozy space (maybe cold in winter or closed) but very beautiful. Food was very good except one plate that was a little bit cold. The chef went to our table asked if everything was ok and offered a complimentary dessert. Overall I think it's a more a romantic place with good food.

It's odd why you chose a restaurant--we have a dog nicknamed Bobo, so that's why we ventured in. We were welcomed by Seth, who did a wonderful job as maitre d. He greated us with a smile and a flute of champagne, when he heard of our reason for choosing his establishment. The food was very fresh--I had the trout while my wife had the steak. We started our meal by splitting the octopus, which was prepared perfectly--no breading and it was delicious. The restaurant was in an old house which was very quaint and there were some tables outside, if that's what your after. We had a great experience.

A party of five, we greatly enjoyed a Saturday nite dinner. It was definitely time well spent. From the bar through all the service, we felt well received. The location is ideal, the restaurant fills two floors in an ancient building. The food was universally excellent. We all will return.

I had a wonderful brunch at this restaurant. The food was great, the server was attentive, and the decor was charming and pleasant. However, on the way out, we decided to use the restroom. Since the one upstairs was busy, the server encouraged us to use the restrooms on the main floor. Both of the restrooms had a very unpleasant odor, as if they hadn't been cleaned for a few days...sad that such a fine restaurant did not see that their restrooms were fresh and clean, and sanitized that morning, and throughout the day.

This is a lovely restaurant in a converted town house. We sat on the second floor at a nicely spaced table so we were able to have a good conversation without having to yell. Service was very good, especially attentive wine service. The food was very tasty, especially the tuna tartare and mushroom ravioli. The restaurant is candle lit so it was a little difficult to see the food, but other than that, Bobo is an excellent place.

We have been coming to Bobo mostly for oyster happy hour and bloody Mary’s on weekends for a decade - most of our favorite spots in the West Village, our neighborhood, shut down with Covid permanently, so we recently we were back at Bobo again, and I can say it is one of our favorites in New York right now. even with the new population (so different to before Covid!). We found ourselves back almost every day we were last in town, as it is so cozy so charming, a great happy hour, and honestly the people are no different than anywhere else in NYC these days (it used to be far fewer locals than other places in the neighborhood). And it’s still beautiful!

Having read the reviews, my wife and I had high expectations for bobo, and we were really looking forward to a nice dinner of moules-frites. Walking in the door, the first impression was good: a friendly reception nice atmosphere, and attentive waitstaff. The moules were problematic, however: seriously undercooked. Tepid. Moule sashimi, basically. And bland to boot, as they had just been (under)cooked in water, no wine, garlic, shallots, etc. in the broth. (The frites were fine, though over-salted.) We're not the types to reject what's served, but we had to send it back. Fortunately, the staff were gracious about it. Giving up on the moules, we ordered salmon instead, cooked medium. Well, "medium" at bobo was rare by our standards -- barely warm on the inside, again going for the sashimi effect. But undercooked salmon was less objectionable than semi-raw moules, so we went with it. It's baffling that a high-end restaurant like bobo should botch the basics, were the second-stringers on duty in the kitchen that night? We were happy with the courteous, professional service, however; that's the only reason bobo gets three stars and not two.

Bono has multiple floors in an old house. Rustic-ish decor. Good friendly service. Basic brunch food, all good - we had burgers and omelets and chicken salad. A wonderful bread pudding to finish. Not noisy. Not cheap.

ask to be away from stairwell. good vibe. Attentive service. So so bread. Excellent octopus and beans. Too salty but tasty mushrooms and ravioli. Bobo salads heaping and fresh. Good clams and mussels. Go to hidden small bar upstairs for a martini and oysters.

Talented bar tenders with amazing cocktails! Not much to comment on food, since I just ordered Salad. It is definitely worth a try.

Great meal on New Year’s day. Relaxed atmosphere, good service and great food for a reasonable price. French style cuisine with a good Pinot Grigio. Lively atmosphere. Young crowd.

Outstanding little space. But poor tasting Bloody Mary, off-color beef tartare, and immediate indigestion following brunch. Will not return.

Elegant and tasteful decor and ambiance. Perfect for any occasion. Great selection of cocktails. Delicious dishes and desserts. Great bar for a casual down time with friends or date. Highly recommended. Dining here feels like you are a guest of a family living in this very Victorian House.

The dining room is on the second floor, the hip bar on the first. Beautiful and comfortable setting with a fireplace that was lighted with a candle. The waiter knew the menu by heart and could advise us on our choices. Appetizers, main and dessert, every dish was delicious. Wine selection from reasonable to pricey.

In a room with no sound attenuation, loaded with 30-somethings with no clue about restaurant discussion demeanor the loudness can be and is distracting and the shrieking downright painful. One cannot hear one’s dining companion in order to carry on an adult conversation. That said, the food we had was overall at best mediocre. Yes, my companion’s heirloom tomato salad and my gazpacho apps were both outstanding. But, our mains of a chicken dish loosely translated as “Grandma’s Chicken” were stingy, dry and tasteless. Only the skin had flavor. Unless you are in your 30s and care not for conversational decorum, stay away.

Made reservations for our 34th anniversary and asked for a special booth upstairs my wife always loves to sit at and they said they would try to accommodate my request. We arrived about 45 minutes early but the hostess said they would try to get our table ready as soon as they could and asked if we wanted to get a drink at the downstairs bar. The bar was packed, standing room only so the hostess noticing that i felt it was too crowded suggested a small, upstairs, very intimate bar that seats only 6. It was lovely and we received special attention from the bartender due to the bar being so intimate and it was our anniversary. They were able to seat us early and in my wife's favorite corner booth and as always the dinner, wine, dessert and the service was perfect. It is so special to spend a evening where feel as if you are the only customer, where service is most important, bobo is amazing.

Ambiance, awesome food and accommodating waitstaff. Thank you Mark for making my last night in NYC amazing. From appetizers to dessert you can't have a bad meal here. Don't miss this restaurant, you are treated like royalty.

The service was great but the pork chop was to die for!!! It was expensive but worth it, a rarity now days!!!

Looks as though you're heading into a basement dive, but basically it's the entrance to two substantial floors of an old terrace house, furnished appropriately. Sunday brunch was busy but not too crazy. We waited a bit long for the food -- manager extremely apologetic and provided a free drink or dessert as compensation (not necessary, but it was a greatly appreciated gesture). Food very good without being outstanding, reasonable value.

Excellent. We were there , a friend recommended the restaurant. Service was great, waittress was knowledgeable, professional and friendly. Food was delicious, perfect foie gras. We lowed our main courses, great mussels and steak au poivre tender and tusty. The sommelier recommendation American Cabernet was delightful. Management very attentive and present. Definitely a winner

We were seated upstairs which really worked. The bar scene was very busy downstairs. Our waitress was delightful and provided great recommendations. The heirloom & watermelon salad was very tasty. The skate special was tender. Excellent experience! Pretty decor.

You cant help but smile when you enter this charming establishment. A small, hidden doorway leads you directly underground to a lively bar. But feat not... you don’t have to eat with all that noise..up you go to a second floor that feels like an old country french farmhouse living room. If your lucky to get a table in the sunroom then you can eat under the stars ( okay, it is nyc but you get the point) As for food and service? Delish and well priced. I had the grilled octopus appetizer as my main after sharing the most tender scallop ceviche. My husband had the savory cassoulet. Give this place a visit, you will leave with all the feels.

Stopped in for a quick Aperol Spritz and were all welcomed with the coolest staff! Great service, cocktails and cheese board to start the night!! The perfect patio to kick back end relax. Enjoy this gem in the West Village! Coming back for dinner next time!

We really enjoyed having diner at Bobo. The lower level had a nice bar with a vibrant atmosphere. The upper floor is more of a seated diner. The place is Nicely decorated, it has this cozy french feel to it. And the staff were friendly and helpful. What to order: we ordered the tuna tartar as an appetizer. It was delicious. As a main course we had steak and salmon and everything was cooked to perfection. What to pay: around 60$ per person What to wear: Chic - casual chic Overall, lovely experience. Recommended

Visiting son who attends Law School in NYC - took wife, son and his friends for Brunch. Tired brownstone and decor. It's a problem when you have to struggle for a coffee refill and cappuccino doesn't arrive for 15 minutes and after "you" ask "where is it" you are told "oh the machine wasn't working, I'll go check." Wife's huevos rancheros cold, my burger - well, aftertaste from meat all day. Everyone else in party of 5 was just okay. Hostess had a rod up her... You would think a restaurant would want you to return and recommend it. Uncrowded prime Sunday Brunch time - obviously for good reason. Complete and total waste of time.

Bobo is a go-to for my family and I. Love the velvet booths alll year round, but the outdoor garden area during warm months cannot be beat. We never leave without an order of fresh donut holes. The vibe is so classic and comforting. Love the bathroom wallpaper. Brunch is always delicious! Love Bobo, love Casa Nela!
POOR VALUE FOR MY DOLLARS
I forgot that I had been to this restaurant before, and as a result I went there today. There was definite improvement in my experience there. Last time I gave the restaurant two bullets, today I gave it three. I started off with a special of the day which was bone marrow with oxtail as an accompaniment. The bone marrow had LITTLE marrow in it. The small oxtail portion of the dish was good but the dish was not worth the $18 they charged. For my main course I ordered from the printed menu their scallops ($30). It was made up of four very tasty Bay Scallops in a very tasty risotto. Four Bay Scallops, I think I should have gotten more than that for $30. Those are the reasons, that I said in the heading, that I got poor value for what I paid.
