Amazing food and wonderful service

By Karla C |

The tapas the absolutely delicious, specially the croquetas and paella. We had two waiters (they were changing shifts) and both were wonderful. Also the kitchen staff is so hardworking and on top of everything (you can see them if you seat in the back like we did). My total respect for this place. Will def go back!

Rate it as good

By John H |

We ate at Boqueria on Friday night and managed to get a cancellation. It's busy, noisy (buzzing?) and hot. The selection of tapas was reasonable and there was some good choices but we've had better tapas in Spain: it left us a little disappointed. The service was fast and ok but I don't liked being walked through a menu which I can understand and trying to be up-sold on Spanish wine that I know about: the second waitress we had was much more in tune and the service was better. Overall I'd rate it at 3.5, so above average and I'd think we'd give it another try (which is the acid test).

Rude waiters

By Ulrika A |

Very rude waiter. Even after spilling beer on my husband he didn’t apologize and turned aggressive when we kindly asked him to clean up the table. We’ll never come back.

TriBeCa Tapas

By James A |

Came here for lunch in May It's a wonderful Tapas restaurant in TriBeCa.Very busy but delightfully cheery service We had Esclivada, Patatas bra as, Pinto Carn, Calamares,Tomaquat con Jamon and Ensalada , 2 glasses of house white and 1 estrella beer. The Tapas was all outstanding. Really enjoyed my time here.Do go, you won't be disappointed.

Great option in Soho

By Alex B |

Great atmosphere and great service. Food is very very good for a good price. Starters are a good option. Well served and good for a lunch in Soho on a sunny day.

Very very nice

By Devona S |

Our family was wanting churros one night but they closed early. The manager saw us wanting them and offered us free churros the next day. While waiting they gave us water and were super friendly. The churros were Amazing and it made our day. We wanted to thank you and hope everyone else can come eat here

Super food

By Linem |

Recommend you book, this is a very popular restaurant. Fab tapas - a real taste of Spain. Service excellent, overall good value. Lamb skewers and calamares particularly good.

Best Tapas I've had in NYC

By Charles Y |

Unbelievable is the best adjective I can use for the food here. Tables are quite small for multiple plates, but the service is quick to remove old and add new dishes. Patatas Bravas - I've had this at many places, this was the best. Potatoes were crispy, sauce was spicy and creme drizzle was cooling and creamy. Albóndigas - Perfect balance of the slight gaminess of lamb with the crispy cooked flavor with a surprising wonderful basil flavor sauce. Ensalada Romana - This is not an exaggeration, this was the best salad I have every eaten anywhere. Crisp romaine lettuce, very creamy Idiazábal cheese, and the dressing.. its a tangy vinegar type with sweet toasted hazelnuts. This salad is so addictive if you like the flavor and feel of vinegar. Cant wait to go back and try more. Portions are big, perfect to split.

Amazing food and great sangria

By Michelle D |

The tapas here are phenomenal. The croquettes come on a plate with housemade apple sauce/butter that is just excellent. The patatas bravas were crispy but our waiter happily switched them out for us. The sangria is great- I'd like to try several ones they have on my next visit. would definitely return.

Excellent

By cristy q |

It was my birthday, we decided to have dinner with my husband, we have no family in New York, we are Argentines living here. It is a pleasant place, the music not so loud that it could be talked. The wonderful food, we ordered tapas and then a paella, all spectacular and exquisite. The staff was very helpful. Thank you Boqueria Soho.

Good food and service

By Leonid G |

The food and service are quite good, not the same as tapas in Spain, but that would be surprising. Overall, a good experience.

Wonderful tapas and paella

By DeborahandAndy |

Delicious seafood paella, tasty flat bread with onions, arugula, mushrooms and amazing spinach with garbonzos, pine nuts and raisins. Interesting cocktails. Good service. Will try again when we visit NYC.

Si, si, si to Boqueria: An overall terrific dinner

By Sybil S |

Everything was fabulous and fun. The place has a buzz, yet it's not noisy. The food is wonderful and reasonably priced. Our waiter, Emerson, added to the experience, attentive, responsive and delightful. We had two delicious tapas and the seafood paella. Could not have enjoyed a meal more.

Excellent!!

By Sonia M |

Everything is very good!!! The bravas potatoes, the olives, the bread with tomato, the churros, the drinks. Everything excellent!! Every time I go to NY I fly.

Amazing. It reminded me of my spring in Sevilla.

By Melissa T |

I love jamón, patatas bravas and sangria. It's like sitting in a terraza in Sevilla. It felt like a tapas night out.

The service was WONDERFUL All the staff were delightfully friendly & helpful Food was delicious! We had a wonderful time Thank you

Nice place for tapas

By L Tran |

Nice Barcelona inspired tapas (and more) place. Please note that portions are generally larger than those in Barcelona, so you wouldn’t order too much like we did . I basically like all dishes we ordered, only some of them them are pictured here.

Perfect Afternoon for Tapas

By Tal K |

Unfortunately i don’y have photos to share but i can do share a very strong positive feedback of this place. We booked a lunch for 4 friends on a rainy afternoon within the hour, and arrive to a very coY place. Service was perfect ( not too fast but it was a pick hour) and ordered so many different dishes like croquettes, meat balls, octopus, shrimps…. Cocktails and there was such a good vibe. I highly recommend experiencing this place.

Great first night choice

By varney |

Boqueria was recommended by our hotel and we went with it and brooked fro our fist night as it close to the hotel and Tapas was a good choice as we weren't sure how the jet lag would affect us. As soon as we walked in we were greeted with a smile and a welcome and shown to a very nice corner table , our waiter was very attentive but not obtrusive and helped with questions we had on the menu, w had a sharing plate of meat and cheese to get us going and the e section of about 4/5 dishes all were good and as with all Tapas arrive at various times. and were all delicious . Looking back this was a great choice, very relaxing to eat there not too noisy had a nice buzz to the place and we really enjoyed ourselves

Good tapas

By Ita49 |

Group needed a location that will accommodate 10 individuals on Friday after Thanksgiving for lunch. Good location and very accommodating service, considering the the varied tastes in the group. Will recommend the eggplant with labne, traditional omelet, lamb meatballs. Do make room for the churros with the Chocolate sauce.

Just Excellent

By Derk W |

Excellent place , little noisy , but good food with top seafood paella and The wine was also a really good choice

Simply amazing

By Jkonrad23 |

If you are looking for quality with a spanish kitchen, this place is the solution. I ate in the bar, drinking sangria. Everything was good, actually very good!

Great food and service

By nerogrigio |

Enjoyed lunch break with family: Serrano, tapas, tortilla ..... all food was good and friendly atmosphere.

Authentic tapas. Cool scene (even with kids)

By BCerda |

I´m sure, Boqueria is not meant as a kid-friendly environment, but luckily for us it was. On our last night out in NY, my husband and I had to unexpectedly go out with our 2 kids: 8 and 5. We had already made the reservation and it was walking distance from our hotel so we took a chance and went with our children. The staff was completely understanding and helpful. Not only did we arrive with 2 kids, but we are also vegan. Our waitress completely catered to us and helped us figure out what to get that was vegan and kid friendly! Everything was delicious. The food was very authentic. There is a good variety of choices, including a fantastic selection of Spanish Cavas. The place itself is so cool, great layout, great music good size tables for plate sharing. This was a really wonderful night and even though it was not planned to include kids, I'm glad it did! Next time we´re in town we will definitely go back!

Most unauthentic tapas I have had in my life - do not recommend

By Katja S |

I am European, have been living in several places in Spain and consider myself well travelled. But even if I was only in Spain once, in one tapas bar, this would have been a no go. Food is not authentic, quality and taste is not good, the croquettes are the worst I had in my life. The selection of wine should have warned me: Ribera del Duero and Toro and just very few other options, but overall it was not a great choice. But the food...how can you go so wrong...but worse, how can this place survive? Do people really have such a bad taste and know that little about how tapas are supposed to taste? I had an amazing start today with moules at Amelie wine Bistro; amazing wine selection and the moules mariniere have been excellent. If you have taste: go to Amelie, dont go to Boqueria Soho - there are so many great restaurants in Manhattan, this one is definitely not one of them.

Not for Spanish people

By iml549 |

I am Spanish living in New York, went there for the good reviews but I was very disappointed. The place is very nice, the service was good and the environment is very pleasant. The idea is good, the names of the dishes are typical Spanish and they have Spanish wines and beers. However, the flavour has nothing to do with Spain. We had "tortilla" (Spanish omelette), which was overcooked and completely cold. The "croquetas" were a bit better, still very far from any random tapas bar in Spain. We also had "pulpo" (octopus), which was decent. I would not recommend this restaurant to someone who has lived in Spain.

good atmosphere

By T.B.Patriot |

It's a cool place to visit and the service was fantastic but many of the tapas dishes we ordered were just ok. Their Jamon iberico was not as flavorful as it should be and their grilled octopus was a little tough. Their décor was very nice and vibrant but could be better.

fusion Tapas

By OliberEllaber |

Not a large restaurant but busy nonetheless. We had a degustation of tapas and were totally and completely full. Some great Brazilian tapas dishes and the paella was awesome.

Perfection

By Macy |

Veggie paella is very excellent. This place is way better than all the restaurants I went to when I was in Barcelona, Spain. Highly recommend.

The place for authentic tapas

By EndyBOSTON |

Had a work outing at Boqueria so we went with tasting menu and what a night it was. The food was just out of this world good. Everything tasted great and I was like, this is my favorite, no wait, this is my favorite...and so on. The ambience was perfect for socializing with friends and co-workers.

Chic place with creative tapas

By Anvita72 |

A restaurant that can boast of a sophisticated yet cool and chic ambience. I visited boqueria on a busy evening with a full occupancy. The seating is close however the ambience is fun and engrossing hence the proximity of the tables is non-intervening. The staff is well groomed, prompt and pleasing. We ordered a few tapas and ended with churros which was a finishing to treat. Wine selection on the menu was tastefully done. Overall I loved the entire experience and I would sum it up as a right blend of good venue, great food and excellent service. Surely a must try.

Great food and atmosphere

By NIklas H |

Fantastic food. Everything tasted amazing. We to almost everything on the happy hour meny. The service was fast and with friendly staff. Dont miss this place!

Very tasty pop in!

By Gordon-Joanne |

We came in for a light bite, late on a Sunday night. We were told the kitchen closed in 7 minutes. We quickly placed our order, the charming waiter didn’t grumble at all, which would not have been uncommon considering the time, and happily took our order. We ordered bread with tomato, meatballs, potatas bravas, 2 beers, 1 churros and 2 sherries. The bread was of excellent quality, churros were yummy and appeared to be fresh. Only slight downside was that the potatas bravas came with mayo all over, which for us they really didn’t need. Bill was $93.63 Would we return? Definitely!

Positively delicious!

By MomsABeachBum |

I was in town for a weekend with my family and we decided to have dinner at Boqueria Soho after a friend recommended it. Our experience was outstanding! The waiter (Ondrej) was attentive and knowledgeable about the menu and wine list (which was extensive, by the way). His recommendations were spot on. The presentation of the food was artistic and the flavors imaginative. We were surprised to find there are other locations. This level of detail usually gets lost with multiple locations. It was clear that the restaurant staff was very efficient and polished. Everything we ordered was unique and delicious and done in the finest spanish tradition of tapas. We enjoyed being able to watch the kitchen staff prepare the food from our table. We especially liked the brussels sprouts with chorizo, the porcini flatbread, and the calamari. The calamari was perfectly cooked and the beans with it were so flavourful, It was a delightful dish. Somehow we had room for dessert. We are so glad we did. The Torta Turron was a heavenly combination of sweet, salty, and vanilla ice cream. It was definitely a meal that my family and I will remember fondly for times to come.

Great food with great service

By omrihaim |

The Escalivada was tasty, the jambon and pedron were simple and good. In general, the combination of flavors was special and fun.

Hit and miss at this venue

By Dana Los Angeles |

In a one week span, visited twice. The first visit was quite good with fast service, very good food, and outstanding Pulpo (octopus) and Gambas (garlic shrimp) tapa dishes. Second visit was a disaster, with zero service, Not just bad service, no service. I saw with for other people as the tapa bar and the server just feet away never looked at us and cleaned the bar refrigerator for 15 minutes, Finally, a manager came over, but they also ignored us and had a chatty laugh for another ten minutes without looking at us. On the way out, I asked for a manager and the person at the front looked at my without a word and ignored the request. Sad as I like tapas, but the worst restaurant service I have ever experienced in New York City. So, food is good but VERY poorly managed with spotty service and outright rude staff that care nothing about the patrons.

Great tapas ! Excellent food and great quality 👍🏼We ate approximately 8 courses

By Anuraag W |

We ate approximately 8 courses and 2 desserts - it was awesome delicious beautifully presented- service was great! Grilled octopus, roasted eggplant , dates wrapped in bacon, grilled chicken, chorizo, mushroom balls ... I could go on and on ... you cannot go wrong... ended our meal with churros with dulce de leche & pineapple with molasses Good fast service !!!

Great food!!

By WanderWithMe |

Amazing spread of vegetarian option and tasty food.. will go here again if I am in the area.. I had couple of varieties of flatbread and potatoes.. yummy..

Better than expected for a hotel restaurant

By tms215 |

This is a solid tapas place. Not overly expensive and the food is good. Limited wine by the glass but reasonably priced. Service is efficient but not overly friendly. It feels like a business traveler’s spot to grab a drink and dinner before heading to your room. Lots of solo diners. Open kitchen which is a plus

Team Lunch Made Bearable

By Destination259072 |

Anyone who has had to sit through a team lunch with difficult coworkers may understand what I mean. It was a new cuisine for several of the team members - but they were pleasantly surprised. I have gone to other locations before - and this did not disappoint. The service was on point. We really enjoyed ourselves.

Yummy

By Holzfrog |

Whilst it was definitely expensive, we had a total amazing lunch here. Three tapas each was more than enough – the eggplant and broccoli tapas were the nicest thing I’ve tasted in a long time! Service lovely. The drinks were the only part that let it down a bit as they tasted so watered down. Otherwise incredible!

Delicious meal

By Karen A |

Randomly found this restaurant while google searching “restaurants nearby”. I made a reservation this morning and I’m grateful we did. We were immediately seated. Menu is small but everything we tried was delicious. I had a sangria which was very good. Food comes out as made so you can savor each plate separately. Staff was pleasant and attentive. 👍🏼👍🏼

great atmosphere

By Galit A |

A cute tapas bar in Soho, delicious starters, good vibes, fully booked. We've gone there on our first evening in the city and it was a wonderful way for starting the weekend at the big apple:-)

Disappointing Tapas

By David B |

We left after our meal with the feeling that they were not overly interested in serving tapas on the night we visited. I have had much better tapas in my home town of Brisbane as well as in Barcelona. We were seeking a light meal in a lively restaurant for our last night on our second trip to New York and had Jamon Serrano, Escalivada (grilled eggplant), Croquettes, and Crema Catalana. The croquettes were overheated and on the verge of being burnt. The crema catalana had a coarse, lumpy consistency. It was an off night, no doubt.

perfection

By Nedelka M |

The restaurant has kept its uniqueness and quality for years. We selected this restaurant for a business lunch. It was not crowded when we arrived, it was when we left. We all selected the same dish. It was delicious. The amount was adequate for lunch. The presentation was very nice. It had texture and colors.

Superb Spanish cuisine

By tibizzi |

Might as well have been in Spain. The ambiance, authenticity of the restaurant reflects genuine Spanish cooking at it's best. From the appetizer, drinks to the dinner. Highly recommend a visit if you like cured ham with cheese and Smoked grilled octopus, that was the best I had ever tasted, done to perfection.

Lovely brunch

By Ben H |

Met up with some friends whilst visiting NYC and they recommended we met here for brunch , had a great time trying lots of different foods from the tapas menu ,all reasonably priced although lamb skewers a bit pricey !! Staff friendly and attentive in a nice atmosphere,

Good

By Hamass |

Good bar, but far from being a great place. Moer of the dishs were good, but not memorable. Sunday has a brunch with open mimosa

Awesome Food and Terrific Service

By 5268Y |

I’m a tapas fan, and decided to try Boqueria Soho. Great decision! Decided to sit in the bar area, and was impressed by the layout: along the walls are high tables and comfy seating suitable for two or three. (I have a bad leg, and the wall seating felt really comfortable.) In the center area is a large high table suitable for a group of friends to eat and socialize at. I bet there are lots of “good times” had there! I ordered two different tapas: a salad and a lamb dish. I don’t think I’ve ever said “Oh, wow!” so many times while eating a meal! Awesome food and terrific service. I’ll definitely be back!

Absolutely Awesome

By smg0303 |

Went here on Saturday night for a birthday dinner and everything was a complete 10. From the lovely Joan, who was so helpful and communicated with us to set up the reservation, to the host and hostess, our server (Karl), the food, the ambiance, the cocktails (and mocktails!), and especially too, the GM, Billy, who made a point to come introduce themselves and make sure everything was perfect... everything was sublime. Highly recommend doing the Chef's Menu... we did this and it was so fantastic. They create a menu of tastings based on your dietary likes/dislikes/allergies/etc. And it is a LOT of food and all so tasty. The carne a la plancha was definitely a highlight; as was the brocoli con ajo blanco and the croquetas cremosas. I mean, truthfully, everything was top notch and paired so perfectly with the kind, knowledgeable and generous staff. Every person went out of their way to make sure we had a great time, and we certainly did! Seriously can't say enough wonderful things about our experience there but can definitely say we will be back again.

Nice place for tapas

Nice Barcelona inspired tapas (and more) place. Please note that portions are generally larger than those in Barcelona, so you wouldn’t order too much like we did . I basically like all dishes we ordered, only some of them them are pictured here.

Trendy Tapas and Great Food

By Hayley H |

We have dined here several times when visiting NYC and it never disappoints. They have an open kitchen so you can watch the food being cooked. The menu has a good selection of tapas and the paella is worth the 30/40 minute wait. The flat breads are also really tasty. The service is prompt but not too pushy. We ordered 2 tapas plates each whilst waiting for the paella. If you like good tapas in a vibey spot, I would definitely reccommend it.

Much the best tapas restaurant in New York.

By Stephen I |

We wandered into Boqueria by chance, and were amazed at the high quality and freshness of the food the excellent table service.

Authentic tapas. Sound level extremely loud

By Roberta H |

Came for dinner Friday night. Having spent time in Barcelona we were impressed with the food. We had Sangria (expensive, but the food is reasonably priced). the Shashito peppers were delicious as were the croquettes and potatoes Bravas. The shrimp were also good. Problems were 1-the food came out very quickly 2- the noise level was awful. We were out of the restaurant in less than an hour. So I enjoyed the food but not too experience.

Yet again really enjoyable

By 990laura |

This was the third trip to NYC that included dinner at this restaurant - it was definitely worth it. The food is really good, the service is excellent and it just has a great atmosphere which makes you want to stay and eat and drink and eat and drink some more. It is really central and and easy to find. I am definitely looking forward to going again on my next visit.

Excellent food and drinks

By Kristin H |

The food was incredible and I had the best sangria I’ve ever had. The atmosphere was fun but it was a bit loud and the space was cramped. Still would go back and definitely recommend it

Overcooked and Salty

By travelbunny004 |

Energetic vibe, good service, decent sangria but the food needs work! The Monkfish with Artichokes were way too salty. The lamb skewers were dry and overcooked as were the Razor Clams. The Flatbread, Charcuterie Platters and Lamb Meatballs were the only palatable dishes that I would recommend.

Even if you're not a tapas fan

By 101Reasons |

Normally I avoid tapas places as tapas to me is just a euphemism for small and overpriced. But not here. Yes, the dishes are small but they are incredibly tasty and comparatively reasonably priced. Eating here was a dining experience.

Worth a stop

By LAFAMILLEG11231 |

Good place for appetizers and drinks They have a good happy hour as well outdoor seating available inside gets busy and loud

Good food

By Alex |

Good food, but a bit expensive if you’re hungry. The atmosphere is very good, service was also efficient.

Noisy Sunday brunch

By zoe646 |

I like Boqueriaand suggested to my date We had a reservation, the food is reliable but the noise level was overwhelming and the service was overwhelmed I do not recommend it for Sunday brunch if you want to enjoy your date

Terrific tapas!

By Yellenita |

Been here for lunch, we didn't booked it, found table immediately, and got served with great variety of terrific tapas. Would recommend for friendly dinner/lunch, with good bootle of wine and food sharing.

Fab tapas in NYC

By andywardi3iskk |

Been here a couple of times. Very well made and very authentic tapas. Lovely croquetas and I also really liked the churros and chocolate. Great lunch time stop off. Give it a go!

Solid

By HonestMcHonest |

Great food -- Fantastic cocktails -- Small but very good wine list -- Friendly staff - not terribly fancy but solid

Lively place with tasty food!

By PDMM_Gourmands 🇦🇺🇨🇦 |

We walked by this place and decided that we should have one meal here. Well, let me tell you - good thing that we booked before showing up! Busy Saturday and tho we booked for 8pm, we didn’t get seated until 8:20. It’s busy and the line-up was long for those waiting. We had excellent tapas and wine. The service was also very good. The calamari and the chorizo were stars of the meal. Highly recommended!

Tantalizing Tapas

By Martha L |

My husband and I took my son and his girlfriend for a late lunch/early dinner and thoroughly enjoyed our meal. We were told there was a table available but only for 1.5 hrs as it had a reservation or we could take our time and sit at the bar. We sat at the table and found the server delightful and the food just fabulous. The Octopus was my personal favorite. I would highly recommend this as a pleasant place for good food and good conversation

Worth Every Penny!

By Ellenindy |

Every bite of every dish was delicious! Our waiter Amoro was so great and helpful! We ordered the chef's choice for $45/person and it was so much food we had to tell him we were so full! WONDERFUL!!

Excellent paella

By Sheri S |

Went with a friend had the croquetas, which were excellent followed by the paella which was also great. Topped off with a pitcher of the blood orange sangria, which was perfect with the food. Great night out and not crazy expensive. Oh and of course I shouldn’t forget to mention the churros with chocolate...

Harry

By Harri R |

Very delicious family plate. Chrismas sangria was wery good surprise too. Reservation was mafe easy via OpenTable.

Great fun!

By euroboyLuxembourg |

We ordered plate after plate of great tapas, including unusual flavours like cheese-stuffed dates wrapped in bacon. Remember to order a jug of sangria or two, to lubricate a great evening! Not really cheap but for New York, not overly expensive either. Try it!

Tapas in a comfortable setting

By Arias55 |

My husband and I have been to this restaurant twice now on our visits to NYC. The first visit we specifically sought out Boqueria and this time we happened upon it for a late lunch. The restaurant is well decorated and comfortable with a bar area and high tops which flows into the main restaurant. Since we were between lunch and dinner we sat at a high top across from the bar. We had Croquettes, Tomaquet with Ham and Cheese, the delicious meatballs and chicken skewers. We had a nice bottle of Montenovo to accompany all the tasty bites while watching the staff be efficient and friendly on a Thursday afternoon. We could have spent the whole afternoon eating and drinking but once we were fortified by the meal we went off to explore SoHo and NYC. We will keep this place on our list of restaurants to visit for a next time in NYC.

Dinner at Boqueria

By Luis B |

The food was ok but the waiter terrible she was new that what the manager said we had a prefix menu at 10:45 we asked for dessert and said sorry kitchen close and was included finally the Mananger came and had her send the desserts but spoons came 30 minutes later I just hate 20% service on the worst service she didn't deserve a penny

Spain in Manhattan!

By Jeanette Jane |

This place truly felt like Spain! I had the tortilla de batata, ceviche and quail eggs with chorizo! The food was delightful and filling. My favorite was hands down the ceviche, which came beautifully served and accompanied by tasty wafers/tostada strips. The cava by the glass hit the spot because it was super crisp and bubbly. For dessert, I opted for the classic churros with chocolate, which were good for "Made in America"...but I've had legit churros from famous churrerias in Spain, so nothing compares! I will be back with friends asap!

Like being back in Barcelona

By Louise B |

This was an inspired choice by my youngest son for something different in New York. It was different and it was delicious and it reminded me of being back in Barcelona, a city I love almost as much as New York! Excellent sherry recommendation from a very knowledgeable waiter, which was served chilled exactly as it should be. Very delicious sharing boards of meats and cheeses accompanied by padrone peppers of course we sat and talked for a couple of hours and it will be one of my favourite memories of eating out in New York. cannot recommend highly enough for the delightful staff and easy ambience, coupled with delicious food. Enjoy!!

Great place, great food, great atmosphere!

By nijjuy |

Wonderful tapas place in TriBeCa. Great food, wonderful wine selection and a fantastic atmosphere. Service is good as well, despite the craziness of the place. Will definitely be back.

You could do worse, but also better.

By Real_Grenadine |

First of all, this place beyond noisy. It is so noisy that I didn't even want to stay after we walked in. Also off-putting was the tiny, cramped tables jammed so close together that you are basically rubbing elbows with people next to you...people you do not know who are (allegedly) sitting at a different table. I'm talking inches... But BF sort of insisted we stick it out on account of his insatiable love of all things tapas. And the food was fine. The salad we shared was really yummy (although I couldn't find it on the menu and only discovered it when it was brought to the party sitting next to us & asked our waiter to bring us whatever salad they were having), and the octopus (an almost alarmingly big tentacle) was not what I am used to getting when I order octopus, but it was pretty good -- with a nice smoky char that almost tasted like steak. I do not think the Tortilla Española was very successful. It is fine to eat this tapas staple at room temperature, but ours was a bit cold. The lamb skewers were OK. All in all, the food was not bad. But it wasn't especially great. Due to the ordinariness of the food plus the noise/space factor, plus the prices, I probably wouldn't go here again. But it might be a better lunch spot than it is for dinner. And I give the staff 5 stars -- the service was really great.

Excellent

We have been here before and we will come back again. Excellent spanish food and wine combined with well mannered staff that makes us feeling welcomed.

Delicious Sangria, Phenomenal Service

By Andres C |

We, unfortunately, only stopped in for drinks and an appetizer. I wish we would’ve stayed for more. My wife and I both ordered the sangria and it was very good (both white and red). The staff was phenomenal. We walked up with no reservations on a Friday night. They said they could accommodate us, but just mentioned if we were ok with returning the table so they could satisfy their 8:30 reservation. I was more than happy with being accommodated, being forewarned, and still having more than enough time to enjoy a drink and appetizer (90 minutes if not more). In the city where every restaurant is trying to make a buck and you’re getting overcharged for the views, Boqueria stood out as a pleasant exception. I’ll absolutely return! Job well done, Boqueria.

Pretty authentic and variety of selections

By Sinclair P |

It’s namesake is a reference of the legendary LA BOQUERIA in Barcelona. Where it’s an open market with numerous delicious vendors providing michellin level cuisine. There are many dishes here worth trying, Pan Con Tomate, Potato Omelette, hanger steak, spinach dish, most of the tapas are yum. This is a winner

Real Tapas

By crservices |

What seems quite and small from outside opens up as a true spanish Tapas place. Loud (in that good all people talking way), savory food, great wine and bubbly Cava. We had an amazing time and it's one of the places that will remain within our NYC top list for every trip.

Incredible and Authentic Catalonia food in NYC

By Joseph M |

We were in Barcelona this past summer, and the food at Boqueria on Spring Street is totally authentic and rivals the cuisine in Barcelona. We went as a flugelhorn of 7, and it was Prix Fix for $60 that included Iberian Ham along with many courses. Every single food dish was superb!! Highly recommended for large group wanting tapas-type eating!

Authentic Spanish Tapas in SoHo!

By dangstadt23 |

We stopped by for what we thought would be a quick late night bite, but got planted on our open-kitchen facing counter stools for 2-hours trying an amazing array of pulpo, calamari, espinaca, tortilla, pan con tomate, and albondigas! Great wine selection too along with friendly professional service!

Good food except the white sangria

By Florence L |

The food is good. It’s quite similar to what you can get in some place in Barcelona. The staff is great But I guess 48 dollars for a pitcher of white sangria is a bit of an exaggeration. Come on it’s not even champagne ! Will come back but I will drink something else !

Always good

UES location is one of my favorite NYC restaurants for nice (not super high end but still very nice) delicious fun dinner out.

Superb lively tapas bar.

By Ian H |

Modern, lively atmospheric tapas bar. Ultra clean. Excellent quality food which was well presented and cooked. Good selection of wines and beers. Superb service by attentive staff. Toilets are downstairs and out of the main tapas bar. Ultra clean and modern. Highly recommended one of the best tapas bars I have been to for a considerable time.

The best food

By Jaredlacey |

Simply delicious food and very fresh. We come here once a month at least as it is one of our favourite restaurants in NYC . Service is always great

Make sure to book

By carby2241 |

This restaurant was warm and a friendly location I which to escape the hustle and bustle of the city. The restaurant was hugely busy and the hostess had to send a number of possible patrons away as there was no availability, although this was lunchtime on a Saturday afternoon. I found the prices reasonable and the food was lovely. The brunch menu giving a number of tapas (5?) and unlimited mimosas or sangria looked very appealing. I found the atmosphere extremely comfortable and had difficulty dragging myself back outside.

Standard Soho Tapas Experience

By ReeceLiang |

This is what you would expect from a Soho Tapas experience in terms of decor, menu, food and price. The food was excellent but paying a large premium for not much food is not in my wheelhouse. We got the acorn-fed iberico ham plate which was good but not the best prosciutto I've had. The goat-cheese stuffed dates were excellent but there were three dates. The grilled Octopus was very good. I have no qualms with the food itself - well executed and creative - but there is a value issue here. I believe you don't necessarily need to walk away from Tapas hungry or broke but this place slides into that standard tapas mold.

Great tapas bar

By khfl29 |

Stopped in for drinks and tapas. Excellent service from our server, excellent tapas, and sangria. Would definitely come back. More crowded than I expected for a hotel restaurant and was a little pricey (~$45 for two drinks and one tapa).

Five Star Tapas and More ----Restaurant we enjoyed for lunch

By S L |

The atmosphere is chill and it is very clean and the staff professional, friendly and inviting. They understood the menu for first timers and we developed a scrumptious meal with their help. Lamp Kebab skewers on flatbread and salad, wonderful shrimp, spinach and hanger steak with french fries....They do Tapas as well as entrees.Very fresh ingredients -- very noticeable and great flavors . You can tell the quality of the offering is high. The Rose Sangria was also very good .Not too sickey sweet. Fresh fruit. Would have loved to do the Churros dessert but we were too full!

INTERESTING SPANISH STYLE RESTAURANT

By goodbadterrible |

If you like Spanish food, this is a new-age Spanish style restaurant which is very popular and seems to cater to the younger crowd. The food is good and there are some unique different dishes but not in my humble opinion, truly genuine Spanish cuisine. The prices are on the high side and the place is usually crowded and noisy. The service is good and the staff seems knowledgeable for what they have. They do have outstanding desserts which are worth coming to the restaurant just for the dessert. I tried the Sangria which did not taste very authentic to me. They used different base liquors with red and white wines which I thought unusual. Definitely not the standard genuine Sangria with red wine fruit and rum. If you are looking for something unusual with creative and tasty food, this is a place to try. If you want true authentic Spanish food with old timy atmosphere, keep searching. I heard the restaurant SPAIN at 113 W. 13th St, NYC has great Sangria and good authentic Spanish food. I'll try that one when next in NYC. Happy eating!

Mediocre

By NYCGal05 |

7p res on a Sunday night, arrived on time was told people still sitting at table booked for us, yet there were other tables for two open. Told we could sit at the counter looking at the kitchen by a large noisy group, no thanks. Hostess was way too young, and smirky, to be working front of house. Finally moved to a proper table and manager provided free drinks to start. Took 10 minutes trying to flag down wait staff for water. Waiter was nice enough, but food was mediocre at best. Flavors and seasoning way off for each of the dishes we ordered. I wouldn’t return. So many other amazing tapas places in the city.

So good we went back a second time!!

By Katharine S |

We visited Boqueria Soho thanks to recommendations from TripAdvisor on New Years Day after arriving in NYC that afternoon. What a fantastic meal and friendly place!! Everything we ordered was delicious, especially their cauliflower special (and I don't usually even like cauliflower). And they have amazing sangria. It was all so good we decided to go back again on our last night in NYC before heading home. We tried some different dishes and again, everything was superb. I can't recommend this place highly enough! Reservations strongly recommended.

Delicious in So Ho!

By overthere |

A fabulous tapas and Spanish cuisine. Stop and try some delicious sangria and tasty dates with blue cheese. Also good salad wit fresh offerings like avocado toasted hazelnuts fresh romaine and dressing with fresh mint. The sautéed mushrooms were amazing. A nice stop for a tasty lunch treat.

Excelent Spanish food

By Luzaber |

We enjoyed the Boqueria Experience Menu. There is a good combination of Spanish cuisine. A place to return. Excellent service, Alex was amazing.

Quick Lunch

By BC1123 |

We were looking for lunch while walking thru SOHO and found this tapas restaurant on google maps. We weren't dissappointed and had a few tapas plates for a light lunch. We had Croquetas, the lamb skewers which were so tender and tasty. Finally the chorizo and serano ham etc platter. The bread served with it all was fantastic. A great find to stumble on.

Very good !

By Cpscpscps |

Food was excellent as was the service. Place was very good too , nice vibe. Great for sharing many small dishes. We love Tapas !!

Best NYC brunch

By MR_0116 |

Hands down best nyc brunch. Shrimp, lamb, octopus, mushroom flatbread are always on point. Perfect mojitos and prosecco options, that my future wife loves! Gotta try it. Ask for Billy, the manager to set you up, and Franklin or Solymar, to make great mojitos!

LOVE this place!

By toomuchsnowhere |

I came in from out of town and specifically chose to share this experience with a friend as I had recently had an extremely positive dining adventure two months prior. I had requested to eat at the bar where you can observe the kitchen in action. We enjoyed the Boqueria Experience ($60/person) which definitely is a value. You can request certain favorite tapas if you wish, but you will be served generous portions of tortilla española, gambas al ajillo, jamón ibérico, croquetas, and more. Everything was delicious. Be sure to have an appetite if ordering either of the tasting menus. We had very nice dry red wines which we were allowed to sample before choosing. I will go back again next time I'm in NYC, and am delighted that they will be opening a restaurant in Chicago.

Just Ok

By Brian W |

Went here for Tapas for lunch and it was a mixed experience. We were able to sit outside in December which was nice with the heaters. We ordered a bunch of things that were hit and miss. The Bacon Wrapped Dates were good and the Eggplant was excellent. My wife thought the Garlic Shrimp was very off-putting and the Churros were pretty pedestrian. Both our table and the table next to us did not receive one of our tapas and to their credit, the staff apologized and removed the order from our check. All in all it was ok. I would probably not return.

great tapas

By Anakin |

great tapas and also very good paella. is a very good restaurant, i strongly suggest, great food, friendly staff. is imperative call for reservations.

Got sick

By Zebbyjr |

Went here with a friend because heard rave reviews. It was crowded, noisy and the people were pushy. We sat at the bar because there were no tables. Service was inattentive and they confused orders. The food tasted awful. Everything had a weird aftertaste. And I got a really bad stomachache afterwards. Would not go here again at all. Not clear why it's so popular.

Been to many Tapa bars... Not good

By Italy with Bella |

Travel a ton and love going to tapa type of restaurants.. This place was a disappointment first because it was WAAAAAAY overpriced for what you got. Ridiculous small portions that are not even sharable. The food overall was hit or miss. The garlic shrimp was great but the lamb was meh and the civiche was not good at all and once again small portion. $45 for a pitcher of Sangria.. (Cheap wine and fruit.. Really guys)

Eat elsewhere

By Luckylass |

It's a bit average food wise. I have had better Spanish in rural Australia. The flavours lacked real definition. It was flashy but without substance.

The Food is Simply Delicious!

By Eric S |

Revisiting New York after 4 years and Boqueria Soho is just as good as I remember. The food is simply delicious, fresh and tasty! That's all I need to say! Try It!

Feels like Spain

By meggles2014 |

Friendly service, delicious food, warm atmosphere. I’m still thinking about the croquette tapas! Highly recommend!

Excellent food and service!

By Prince SA |

Love the food and Rosada Sangria, awesome! Rashik was our server, attentive and ensured we enjoyed our meal. Would definitely recommend this place!

Great Tapas Style Spot

By Jeremy |

The menu might be a bit difficult to navigate if you are not familiar with Spanish since all of the names of the food items are in Spanish. The descriptions are in English though. This restaurant is known for their sangria. I had the sangria tinta which is the red sangria. It was some of the best I've ever had. The food portions were perfect for sharing. Our server was super friendly and did a great job

Best birthday

By Intl_Woman_o_Mystery |

Brought a friend for her birthday and had the tasting menu. It was so much food! Very generous and amazing. My faves were bacon wrapped cheese stiffed dates, the shrimp, and the sangria. Great service.

Terrific tapas in sensational Soho

By Smoothguide |

Neighbourhood tapas institution stumbled upon one chilly night in December ... 6.30pm rush hour but after a ten minute wait we were squeezed in at the bar and looked after very well by the friendly and attentive staff. We ordered only three items but each was utterly delicious ... especially the black squid ink noodles ... top marks ... and ditto the mushrooms on flatbread. Great ambience, service and food ... and much better value than other destinations in the area. What a fantastic find for our first night in the city. Will definitely return.

Great food

By TorontoRose1 |

Came here Christmas evening (made reservations weeks in advance). We ordered the paella right away as we were aware it takes 45 minutes to prepare. While we waited for that we enjoyed a variety of tapas. The meat and cheese platter was amazing and we also really enjoyed the lamb meatballs. We ordered the large paella which fed 4 adults easily. It was cooked well with lots of seafood but the rice was a little on the salty side for me. Now the desserts...wow! they were delicious and generous portions. The waiter was friendly and helpful in making suggestions. The music and ambiance though noisy, we enjoyed it. We would return.

great Paella and brunch

By j0yce58 |

We go there everytime we are in NYC and mostly for brunch, Spanish style. The seafood paella was amazingly good. Try the Stuffed dates wrapped in jamon and the Txipirones.

Great Tapas Place!

By Travelling_Terp27 |

Make a reservation! This place is always busy; luckily we did. We were able to get seated quickly and our server was very attentive. The quality of food was great! Our party of 3 had an order of fresh sangria, a couple of appetizers (sauted peppers, shrimp, and bread). The paella was also amazing, great for 3 people! I definitely recommend!

Outstanding light but satisfying meal

By RMTCA |

Really a fun place with a great atmosphere, excellent service and outstanding small plate food. Place has really good energy, a bit loud but in a positive way. Service was really outstanding (Marilyn) and helpful answering my questions and she gave excellent recommendations. Had croquets, grilled octopus (done perfectly) and the churro dessert with chocolate dipping sauce should not be missed! Wine list was great with good Spanish wine choices by the glass. A good light meal with excellent service and atmosphere.

Great spot for tapas!

By Kim Z |

Let me start by saying I called late for a reservation and was accommodated on the condition I would vacate their prime table before 7:30. This was fine as we had a 5 year old in our party of 5. So good marks for couteous service which continued to be good once at the restaurant. As to the food, we ordered quite a few small plates and a charcuterie platter plus a few pitchers of yummy sangria. All very good! Prices were a little high, but, this is SoHo so to be expected. Would recommend and return to this spot.

Our favorite.

By Steve R |

This is how I like to eat! Lots of fantastic tapas, we pick several and share. The menu was extensive so we told our waiter to just serve what he liked and not tell us what was coming. It was great and he knew what to bring. The Chef/ Owner was there testing sample dishes and the whole experience was fantastic. SoHo is like that, you can walk down the street and just pick a restaurant. Most time it'll be great and this place is a real find.

As good as anywhere in Spain

By Birgitta-Kenneth |

We have been a whole lot in Spain and this was as good as the best ones in Spain plus a very nice and pleasant welcome from the staff so highly recommendable is the verdict!

Okay

By Hades |

Tapas was average. Had eggplant, lamb meatballs and dates wrapped with bacon. Dishes were just okay but pricy. Would go elsewhere.

Not for me

By Becky_Lou_26 |

Came here for a meal on the evening of my 30th birthday. On arriving 20 minutes early hoping to get a drink we were told there was no where at the restaurant for us to do so. We asked if they could recommend somewhere for us to have a drink and the host looked us blankly and just pointed us aimlessly down the street. We went a nearby restaurant with a bar and had a drink there and returned at 5 past 8. The table I'd booked some weeks ago was still not ready so we waited in the crowded door area to be seated. In fairness this happened about 5 minutes later but was frustrating when we'd booked the table several weeks earlier and it was a special occasion. Once seated the restaurant was overly noisy and the tables close together. I know this is very typical of New York but this noise was excessive to the point I couldn't hear what my partner or what the waitress was saying. The food was good, although I did find the menu limited however the whole experience wasnt enjoyable for me as we struggled to hold a conversation. Sorry I cant be more positive, I think I wouldn't have been as disappointed if it wasnt for a special occasion.

Felt Like I was In Spain

Yummy, yummy yummy! What a great experience. The variety and quality of the food was fantastic. Will definitely return.

Good Spanish Food

By Natalia G |

The food is amazing!! And the Alioli that goes with the Tortilla Española is perfect with everything! We really enjoy it! Don’t forget the Sangria! The rosé one in refreshing!

Amazing once again

By Lekkim |

Had the Chefs tasting menu which was great!! It is. It cheap but for soho it's ok. Make sure to try the octopus :-)

Great tapas place

By Peter D |

The food was great and the service excellent - enough said, if you like tapas this is the place to go

Disappointed

By Born2Travel57 |

The tappas here are OK, not really noteworthy. Portions are small for the prices they charge. Service was lacking and we had to hunt our waiter down to get our check. Definitely would not return.

Outstanding Tapas and Delicious Seafood Paella

By NYTravelerBD |

The tapas was excellent. We especially liked the (spicy) patatas bravas and the mushroom croquettes. The seafood paella was well worth the 45 minute wait, and was filled with perfectly cooked mussels, shrimp, and squid. The service was great and overall it was perfect for a date night.

Average tapas

By Irenewissum |

The croquettes was soft and with not much taste. The plate with Jamon and cheese was delicious, butt small. Noisy and cold inside the restaurant. Spanish lookalike.

Xmas menu was perfect

By lakwatsera2014 |

first, reservations are mandatory (it was xmas day). venue was easy to find on foot as a tourist. interior was hip, crowded like any ny bistro. music was pan American Spanish. service was swift. let me rattle off the scrumptious tapas to share that were part of the xmas special - manchego cheese and fruit - bruschetta - jamon iberico - croquettes (mushroom, chicken) - roasted cauliflower with yogurt - roasted pepper - meatballs in tomato sauce - ox tail with fried ultra fine shoestring potatoes - ink squid seafood pasta - churros - caramel cake w honey ice cream worth the daytrip and xmas tradition yummy!

The best!

By VeronicaSjogren |

We spent about 4hours here not kidding! Dropped by before lunch and Stayed until happy hour began! Had the best tapas, sippin on sangria and talking to the best bartender EVER, Jesus!! This is a Popular place so for lunch make a reservation! Great Fresh drinks! Loved it!

Brilliant food and service

By N Williams W |

Went here with my daughter for an alternative Christmas dinner. We had to book but that wasn't a problem. We were looked after by the staff brilliantly who explained what the dishes were. We had a fantastic tapas meal which just kept on coming. If I'm ever back in New York I'll be coming back here again.

Great tapas

The best tapas ever outside Europe and at the same type great service - will definetely come here again next time we are in NYC

Good Tapas, Cozy Setting in SoHo

By GoSoxPatsCsBs |

I met a friend here for dinner on a Tuesday, and at 7:00 p.m. the place was packed, as in almost every table full. The overall sound level in the place made conversation a bit difficult. The tables were somewhat small, and the high seating was uncomfortable after a while because of the lack of a good place to rest my feet. The drink pour--I got a couple of rounds of cider--was perhaps more befitting a little person. But the food made the visit worthwhile. We got the tasting menu, and every single dish--it was probably seven or eight courses--was excellent, with fresh ingredients, bold flavor, and attractive plating. They even cooked the octopus just right, which not every place can do. The churros with chocolate sauce were a great finishing touch to the meal. The service was prompt and friendly. Overall, my friend and I had a great time and left happy, which in the end is what it's all about.

Just ok

By Trieffort |

I was so much looking forward for an authentic Spanish meal. We came in the late afternoon hours and were seated promptly. Place was empty. The food was just ok, nothing to rave about. The salad we had was very simple: romaine, sprinkled with hazelnuts and way too much dressing. Tortilla de patatas was cold and ok. Paella... huge, rice cooked great, chicken and pork cooked perfectly but the taste of a composed dish I craved for was not there. At the end my husband mentioned briefly that it was my birthday but the waiter completely dismissed the notion of anything 'special'. Not even a churro... :( We will not be back.

Fantastic food, ambiance and service!

By Gobertgo |

We went in for a few small plates and fell in love with the food and atmosphere. We just wanted a light dinner and it was perfect. We had the octopus, which was cooked just right and had great flavor, the lamb skewers were delicious, they were tender and the salsa verde was a nice addition, the padrons were roasted and salted as they should be to bring out the flavor. We ended up returning the next evening and again enjoyed another meal This time we had olives to start, which were seasoned differently than I have ever had them and were super tasty. The churros after our meal were decadent without being too sweet because of the caramel sauce. As much as we enjoyed the food, it was a great experience as well due to our bartender, Jesus. We sat at the bar and he was really helpful with explaining the different wine pairings. He was fun and friendly and just made the whole experience better than just having a good meal.

Not outstanding tapas

By shopaholic1979 |

The restaurant is cozy and the staff welcoming. Nevertheless, the tablas and tapas could be a bit better. Not very large portions for the asking price. We went for lunch and it wasn't very busy.

Perfect place for a glass of wine with a friend

Stumbled into Boqueria after a yoga class next door and had an amazing night catching up with a friend over a glass of wine and some delicious Spanish snacks. The restaurant was lively and the service was great. Loved!

Great authentic food. The grilled octopus was delicious. The hanger steak was amazing. The iberica ham was top quality. It was all great.

Tapas and Drinks

By Climber16620079570 |

It's a nice place to get together for some bites and drinks. However, some of the food is hit or miss. We got the sampler. The place is busy and can get quite noisy. But that also means that you're neglected as some of the foods are cold. Paella should not be lukewarm.

Fun Tapas Spot

By R2E |

Lively fun restaurant! Happy people enjoying small plates that were good. Enjoyed a nice bottle of red wine from Spain. The bread was excellent.

Skip the hanger steak and go for what they know - pulpo!

By Hege M |

When we meander without a destination we often end up at a Boqueria. You’ll bump into one at some point. They’re everywhere these days. When it’s cold outside the Spring Street location is especially nice if you can get a table close to el horno. Carne a la plancha is a rare (pardon the pun) choice for me. The hanger steak was a bit too bloody for my taste but drenched in salsa verde it was a good carnivorous experience. The grilled branzino was a tad bland. So as for protein I think pulpo is a safer bet here. It has always been really good… not to mention the wine selection.

Tapas & a bit loud

By Stacy L |

So delicious, just go with the "nightly market" menu and add on from there. You can't go wrong. Sangria, Sangria, Sangria!!! and for dessert don't miss Churros Rellenos de Nutella

Great food and service

We loved our visits here as we were staying at the AC Hotel New York Times Square. All of our visits were met with the same quality food and excellent service!

Jummy tapas

By Melanie W |

Great tapas....soooo jummy! I had 3 different ones which filled me up quite well. I sat at the bar as I did not have a reservation and it's a very busy neighborhood, so you should definitely call ahead to secure a spot. Service was excellent.

Great Tapas on a Sunday Afternoon

By Richard H |

Was in Soho looking for somewhere for a drink and a snack. Looked across the road from Stussy and saw Boqueria. Quick look up on TA suggested it was going to be worth a visit. Nice vibe as we walked in. got a seat at a table near the open kitchen. Nice bottle of wine and a selection of tapas (octopus, garlic prawns, croquettes, lamb skewers) - all of which wherever tasty and hit the spot. Definitely a place to try in Soho.

Very good

By ArnaldoSergio |

It is a Spanish restaurant. The ham is excellent. I like the shrimp. The bread is wonderful. It is a little expensive.

Great brunch

By M Cul |

We enjoyed a lovely Spanish brunch at this charming eatery - with eggs, chorizo, potatoes, artisanal bread with great coffee and outstanding service. We will come again.

weak sangria, uneven food but mostly good, with good service

By jklugmn |

as others have said, the sangria is too weak. if you want a white sangria, do NOT get the "blanco"- very watery. the other white sangria, made with bourbon, mezcal and some pineapple has more flavor. one dish had been inadequately heated- the croquettas- and was still frozen in the center. the other dishes, including a half chicken, bacaloa, flatbread with mushrooms, roasted vegetables, were all very good. service was excellent.

Good food, menu could be wider

By Arnaud Grindel |

Great tapas (especially likedpatatas bravas), not really functioning service (they mixed up our order twice, but didn‘t charge us what they forgot at the end). The choice of tapas could be larger though and could include more Spanish tapas classics (e.g. pimientos, calamares fritos, jamon iberico alone, sirloin steak). Would still try it again

Nutella Churros

By londoner882014 |

I came here purely to eat Nutella churros. They were amazing!! Definitely order these if you visit here.

Pretty darn authentc and delicious tapas

By Tina S |

Loved this restaurant! Several Spanish people around us so that should tell you that it is authentic. Seated at the chef's table and watched the magic happen. The place was bustling and packed. The kitchen staff took it in stride, not a wasted motion. It was like watching a symphony! The food was superb. Closest thing we've had to true Tapas since our stay in Spain. Every ingredient was super fresh, expertly prepared. Generally our server did a great job, but I can see it being hit or miss - it is a very busy place. Grilled squid was fabulous. I can recommend every dish on the menu. All great.

Great tapas lunch.

By Paul O |

Just back from spending a month in Andalusia and northern spain this restaurant caught our eye. Estrella Galicia available not even anywhere in Canada. Enjoyed the cheese and meat platter, pulpo, and tortilla made with potatoes id course. Good service. Place was packed and enjoyed the experience.

great spot!

By Nikki D |

great spot. local, small and great food and small bites. good wines. we stop for a quick bit between shopping all the times we are there.

Excellent

By Debbie A |

Fantastic meal! Service was excellent and the menu choices and quality of the food was amazing! We did the chefs tasting and every tapa was enjoyable! The octopus, lamb and crispy sweet potatoes (and the churros) were favorites. Highly recommend! We will be back!

Exemplary service paired with delightful flavors.

By Anna L |

The culinary experience was a delight, and the service exceeded expectations! Our waiter managed to strike a balance between humor and efficiency, while the kitchen staff performed admirably. Nevertheless, it's worth noting that this venue is better suited for leisurely conversations over small dishes accompanied by beverages. Those anticipating substantial portions might need to adjust their expectations. A noteworthy detail is that the paella preparation requires a notable 45-60 minutes, so it's advisable to either place an advance order or indulge in some tapas and cocktails to pass the time while awaiting this dish. In summary, the service and flavors are remarkable, though the ambiance and cuisine style favor a more relaxed, conversational setting.

Delicious

By Andrea G |

We arrived late without a booking (party of 2) and were lucky to be seated at the bar overlooking the kitchen. Very entertaining to watch the production of the meals. We enjoyed the seafood paella, highly recommend, and started with a few recommended tapas from our friendly waitress. The food and Sangria was without fault, I would highly recommend this restaurant. Great vibe for a Tuesday night too,

Happy Hour Tapas menu is good

By sweetiedarling1 |

Just stopped by here for a quick bite just after 3pm when happy hour starts. There were a few seats available at the bar and a couple of high tables free. The eggplant had a deliciously smoked flavour and came with fresh hot (fried) flatbread. The squid was also tasty, but could have done with a lemon wedge to bring out the flavour. That’s where I should have stopped ordering, but too late as I’d already got my third dish which was the potatoes. Not sure what the plate sizes were, I should have stopped at 2. The potatoes were a bit over fried anyway. And, what with the fried squid and fried bread I felt a bit fried out afterwards and had to walk slowly home.

Crowded and worth the wait

By MA-family-of-three |

We were there during happy hour on a Friday, and the place was hopping. It was worth the wait to get a small bar table, though. Everything we had was delicious: lamb meatballs, tortilla, chicken skewers, roasted padron peppers, and the best patatas bravas we've ever tasted in Spain or the U.S. All very reasonably priced and with very helpful but non-intrusive wait staff. Have the churros for dessert if you have any room left!

Fun night out!

By SeeTheWorldX3 |

Great tapas and sangrias! Close quarters and very crowded, but service was stellar. Every tapa that we tried was delicious. Definitely worth a stop when in SoHo.

Tasty

By Bitterhearts1989 |

Went on a lunch date and enjoyed the atmosphere and service. The staff was very attentive and took time to explain the menu. We enjoyed everything we ordered from the sausages to the other small bites and cheese. I will be returning here again for more dates.

Can't wait to come back

By Greg C |

We had a really great meal here before going to hear Pepe Romero, a well-known Spanish guitar player and it was the perfect set-up. The menu has a lot of choices and that's what made it hard. I basically wanted one of everything. But we settled ("settled") for the artichoke special with manchego, serrano ham, bacon-wrapped dates stuffed with almond and blue cheese, and fire-roasted eggplant. Everything was spot-on and delicious. The timing of the plates being delivered was perfect. I could have stayed all night, nibbling through the tapas menu but we had plans. The other cool thing about Boqueria is the sangria selection. I was used to white and red as my choices but here we had to think about it. We chose Rosada: rosé wine, tequila, cranberry, pomegranate and hibiscus soaked strawberries. In a word: wow. The ambiance was great. Busy, noisy and crowded but not insane for a Friday night. The kitchen area is open so you can see the delicacies being created, and there is some seating where you can just watch the chefs do their thing. Since we barely scratched the menu, we'll be back.

Great food and friendly service

By Emma K |

We had a really lovely dinner here. The food was really tasty and great to be able to see them preparing it in the kitchen. Although it wasn’t authentic Spanish and definitely felt like it had some Mexican influences the menu had good choice, the plate sizes were a decent size - we ordered 4 between 2 people which was plenty - the service was really friendly and casual and it was good value for money.

A breezy night in Barcelona - modern and sleek Spanish cuisine in NYC

By Samiha |

I visit Boqueria every once in a while to get my fill my existential voids with croquetas. I've been to several other Spanish restaurants around NYC in search of classic tapas and no place has ever been as delightful as Boqueria. Unlike some of the other Spanish restaurants in the city, Boqueria has a very modern and sleek feel to it, the kind that reminds you less of aging Spanish tropes like bullfighters and flamenco and more of a breezy night in Barcelona or Madrid. The food is always excellent and the staff is always knowledgeable and courteous. Prices are standard for NYC: expensive but cheaper than a flight to Spain. It does get packed on Friday nights and weekends, so be sure to plan in advance -- it'll be 100% worth it in the end.

Fantastic

By richard b |

Delicious tapas... Left time square for our in between show dinner. Hate Times Square. Ended up here and with luck at chefs table so I can watch them cook. I ordered the tortilla of the day, piquillo peppers filled with oxtail, croquettes, vermicelli with seafood. A superb dinner
