Consistently good: croquetas were subtle and creamy, the dates wrapped with bacon delicious, a platter with a selection of olives, charcuterie, cheeses, pan con tomate (all great) and then another platter with beef, different dipping sauces etc. All great. The pineapple sangria not my favorite but ok. The churros stuffed with dulce de leche are to die for... the menu is diverse and inventive. Perfect spot to celebrate small occasion, great for small groups, or a date. Good atmosphere, loved the decor.

Service is good. A young crowd. And usually crowded. Tables high so long legs help to get on chairs. I just was not impressed with tapas served

We had a delicious dinner at Boqueria. I'd been there for lunch, when it was pretty quiet - what a difference at dinner. Really buzzing with attractive people, and the food was fantastic. A little noisy, but not offensively so. Our favorite dishes were the jamon Serrano, sauteed mushrooms, spinach w chickpeas, and salted blistered peppers.

We had 8 tapas split 3 ways. Plenty of tasty food. Dessert left me wanting for something else-soggy creme Caramel. Like the downtown location more.

We were looking for something different to eat and decided to give Boqueria a try. I must say I really wasn't very impressed. We had to wait 1:15 minutes for a table, while at the bar we were serviced by a nice bartender who treated us very nicely while we waited. The bartender recommended we try the chef choice option for our group of 8 people. When seated the waitress never mentioned the availability of the chef choice but once I mentioned it she did offer more details. We did go with that option and I think that was our big mistake. The food provided was nothing we would have ordered on our own and not much of what we liked, some of our group had allergies that were mentioned to the server and also manager but yet we received lots of items that they couldn't eat. In all honesty we were only provided a few main meat and fish dishes. We were provided an abundance of potatoes, fried peppers, and lots of bread. I must admit not what I was expecting. If I do give this restaurant another try we will not be doing the chef choice.

The food is good, although it’s quite expensive. Not sure if it’s worth it. We weren’t disappointed by the food. They have a nice wine selection. We were a party of 5, and they would always bring a tapas plate with 4 pieces. At one point we just laughed it off! Not sure I’d go back.

This is a nice tapas style restaurant located in the upper east side. Lots of nice indoor seating and also tables outside on the sidewalk. Food is enjoyable. Service was patchy.

Came here on a whim after going to the Met. Excellent happy hour value! And HH is from 3:30 to 7! The only disappointing item was the Jamon Iberico - dry and sweet instead of succulent and salty. I wonder if we got the end of the leg... We'll definitely be back to this or one of their downtown locations!

The food was pretty good, especially the croquettas. However, the server and manager weren't very nice and didn't offer us anything when we didn't like a dish. The food was also overpriced.

Excellent choice of tapas. The place was quiet as its earlier in the new year! Service was excellent! Well done! Will certainly come back.

my wife and I had a late flight and came in at 9:30 at night. Received great service and the food was awesome. Two days later we stopped in an got two Spanish tortillas togo and had that for breakfast.... yummy.

The server was very misleading cocktail taste like juice. The was stateless. The only decent thing is the ambience.

Aside from the traffic noise while seated outside, we enjoyed this spot for a light lunch. Service was friendly and the food was good. Pricing was moderate.

Our favorite restsurant in NYC. Sunday brunch on the patio with bottomless sangria and bacon wrapped dates. What could be better? Great server -Oscar- and lovely hostess made us feel welcome.

I had such high hopes for this restaurant. I always pass it and it seems lively and the menu looks good. Unfortunately once I sat to order I realized the menu was limited for a gluten free person like me. Their jamon platter was sub quality, the potato was soggy. I asked for the wine list and most of the options by the glass were on the cheaper side. We had three different waiters cater to us. Even though the atmosphere was energetic and lively, I doubt I will go there again.

Ordered 4 different tapas to share with a friend, was not disappointed. Great and authentic spanish food.

Tapas were good But a bit too salty for me. The cheese plate was amazing. Several type of cheese with olives and bread.

This was our first visit and will definitely go back. Food and service was excellent. There were four of us in our party and all of our entrees were tasty and warm.

I decided to try this place after seeing pictures a friend posted on Facebook. I can only say that I can't wait to go back to NYC to eat here again! I went with my sons ages 17 and 23 and one of his girlfriends. Although the $39 per person seems high (specially for us Floridians), I have to say that it was well worth it. For $39, you get 4 different tapas (all people at the table have to agreed on the tapas as they bring enough for all); plus two entrees (to share) or a brunch paella; churros and unlimited sangrias. The tapas we chose were: tortilla espanola, bread with manchego cheese and serrano ham, eggplant and papayas bravas. They were all simply delicious! We decided on the paella which comes with one fried egg per person--absolutely amazing. The churros were warm and delicious too. They have 3 different types of sangria so you can try them all. Since my 17-yr old can't drink, they gave him the option of unlimited coffee or soda. I think they should charge less for minors who can't drink as soda and coffee are obviously cheaper than alcohol. When I asked about this, they said everybody at the table had to do the $39 per person deal in order for it to work. That was the only sticky point. But I would go back in a second! My oldest son who lives in NYC is going back with friends. Service was fast.

The food here is excellent! It is like a Barcelona tapas-crawl every night. The only drawback is that it is a little loud and cramped but the food is so good, you don't care

Wow. What can I say about this place? Divine is a great starting point. If you like Spanish Tapas food then this is the place to visit. We can't get enough of it. I would highlight recommend the dates (I must confess to having 2 or 3 servings whenever we attend). Service is excellent both inside and out. Definitely a place to take a client or to enjoy a family lunch/dinner.

This place is right next door to The Meatball Shop, so my wife and I, along with another couple, stopped in each during our trip. Here we ordered the Tabla de Quesos y Embutidos (meat and cheese plate) and as a non-cheese eater but lover of meats, my favorite was the serrano ham, but everyone else seemed to highly enjoy the manchego the best. We ordered several dishes after that, including the Gambas al Ajillo (Shrimp), Conjonudo (Fried quail eggs and chorizo on toast), Datiles con Beicon (Bacon-wrapped dates), and then our two favorites, Piquillos Rellenos (Braised oxtail) and Patatas Bravas (Spicy spuds!). We finished our meal off with churros and ice cream and everyone left happy. The two bottles of wine probably helped, too :)

We started our trip to NYC with our 2 young adult children + girlfriend with a dinner at Boqueria. We loved it! We love Spain and finding a taste of Spain in NYC was great as the Manhattan vibe was also present. Food was very tasty, especially the paella. It was a Sunday night and the place was packed. It is good that we had reserved ahead of time.

I had lunch at Boqueria UES today and the food was delicious on one of the last chilly days of this winter. The Spanish omelet was very good and the grilled octopus virtually perfect. Service was fast and friendly, and cleanliness was very good.

Enjoyed some good company with a tapas fest @ Boqueria UES. We ordered a lot of food, sometimes multiples of favorites. I think we had three orders of Shisito peppers. All of the dishes were well prepared, service was top notch. Everything seemed fresh, even the ceviche. Service was spot on, great teamwork from the staff. Would definitely eat here again.

Had dinner there, sat at a bar table, high up, service is spotty, this part of the restaurant is extremely noisy. The tables are too small to accommodate water glasses, water bottle, wine glasses and a bottle of wine, plus plates, and what ever you share. The spicy peppers were good, the croquettas average, the meat paella very tasty but greasy. Good fun neighborhood spot if you like to scream or not be heard. Too many decibels. But the place is warm, cozy and attractive.

I’ve been in this place and it’s one of my favorite restaurant! It’s particular. Dishes are good as always!

This is a top notch and innovative tapas bar and restaurant serving traditional Spanish classics and interesting adaptations of Spanish, especially Catalan, cuisine. All the ingredients taste fresh and the dishes made to order, especially the skewers and grilled items. They have a number of restaurants in Manhattan (and now DC), but only the Upper East Side has a special luncheon menu at the bar--perhaps one of the best lunch deals in town, if you like this kind of food. The bar and restaurant are beautifully appointed: clean, contemporary, classy, yet casual and comfortable. The jamons hanging in the window say authentic. I was staying with a friend who lives a block away and who took me here for dinner with someone who lives in Greenwich Village--he loves this place. We shared some great small plates, which were varied and all delicious. See recs below. Since I was in town for several days, I went here again for lunch (tremendous value at the bar) and for Happy Hour and once a quick late dinner. The daily menu changes: for a late night dinner, I had a great crudo of fish that was prepared with interesting ingredients and the freshest fish. Sometimes it's hard to get the attention of folks at the bar, especially when they are busy, but overall, I had great service, and could distract myself with my tablet. I look forward to going here again and recommended to a colleague who has an apartment in Barcelona and works at the Dali Museum in St. Petersburg.

All I say Boqueria is a must. The ambiance is eclectic. The tapas are amazing. Excellent service. Good wine, overall a good experience can't wait to go back.

I normally don't rate food by the quantity served, but this online order prompted me to make a exception. We ordered croquetas cremosas, gambas al ajillo, albondigas and pintxos morunos. Four dishes should be enough for two, but it was not. If you order gambas in ajillo, one expects a Aioli sauce - garlic, olive oil and an emulsifier like egg. This one was without egg and little garlic. Disappointing. The croquetas indeed only had creme on the inside, nothing to give texture, I cant remember the albondigas, and the pintxos were also uninspiring. I had a great culinary trip to the Basque country last year, and unfortunately this restaurant is not at the same level of even street food. Not (good) enough

First of all YUM. We paid for the $42 brunch special. Bottomless drinks (Sangrias or Mimosas), 4 tapas, 2 meals and a dessert. For two people it was Sooo much food, but so worth it. Everything was great. Service was fast and food was incredible. Tapas were the best. Loved this brunch spot!

Might be as close to Barcelona as you will find in NYC. Please note it can be loud and crowded. Spacing of tables is minimal so you'll get to know your neighbors. If you don't mind, it's worth a visit.

This is our second visit & we love it, the Chef Roberto is truly good at what he does & you can see the passion in his food. We love the tapas style menu, loved the shrimp, potatoes & truly many others on the menu, the sangria is great. The manager & staff are extremely accommodating & welcoming, that's what makes this restaurant a culinary gem & we will keep going there every time we visit the city.

We were looking for a tapas place and saw the good reviews of the Boqueria UES. Sat outside on a nice night. They were right on time with our reservation and the service was good. Glad we sat outside, inside was very loud. We had two of the specials, and both were good, but very salty. Turns out everything we had was very salty, almost to salty to eat, that included the lamb skewers and potatoe bravas.

I enjoy Boqueria for a good bottomless brunch. They give a lot of food and do a decent job at making sure the bottomless drinks flow. I really enjoy their patatas bravas and pan con tomate. They've also made us a vegetarian paella which was nice of them. I've been coming here since I moved to the neighborhood. Ambiance - really nice. A fun place for friends or a date. Price - the bottomless brunch is a really good deal.

The tapas and service is excellent. The only reason is not five stars is the tables and chairs We loved the croquetas and the octopus. They have a great wine selection as well as beers

Dined here this past weekend. As we were 8 people we had to order their Chef's tasting menu. No a la carte. Overall the food was very good and we enjoyed the meal. Stand outs were the mussels and the brushetta bread. The Chef's choices were good with very concentration on seafood dishes. The only real negative was the quantities. They basically gave our table two of each of the small tapas plates for each item they served. That would have been more than enough for 6 but was pushing it for 8 people. We all felt they should have brought 3 of each. Only other negative was the Sangria was just so so. We had the original red and a cranberry variety that the server recommended. The first pitcher of the red was our preference as we felt the cranberry had a more cough syrup after taste. Ask to taste before you order a pitcher! Great place to go with a group of people but as others have said, tables are close together. We did not find it overly loud.

Great little restaurant! The food is amazing!! It is not cheap because you have to order a couple plates to be full, but the presentation and the flavor of the food is absolutely amazing

My boyfriend and I went here on a Saturday after we made a reservation the same day. The food was great, but very filling! We ordered Sangria and five tapas (4-6 was recommended, and my boyfriend is usually very hungry). The service was great - presence when you needed it to be, and the place was not too loud.

We did not try once , not twice... but 5 times in the past 6 months: they are always out of their happy hour draft beer Abd service is rude Avoid

The service and food in this place are good. The waiters are friendly and attentive. I recommend: txipirones, boquerones and the paella. Although this is a bit salty, but if you squeeze lime it Counter rests it. The churros with chocolate are a great desert. The only problem I had is that they don't have regular chairs, but high stools. I was there for three hours and even with high heels my legs got tired.

A fun atmosphere with great tapas. Sat at the bar on a cold Saturday night with a friend having spicy margaritas and an array of tapas. Great bartenders and staff. Highly recommend it for great food, fun, casual environment!

First of all the tapas food was really good. We had cauliflower, lamb, goat cheese and garlic shrimp and all of them tasted super! The wine collection was very nice too. Everyone made this place extremely welcoming and relaxing. The reception area is a bit far from the entrance door but the smell on staff's face made it up very well. Don't miss it when you are in the UES neighborhood (2nd Ave between 76 and 77th street).

Within 15 minutes of reaching my hotel I was being dragged reluctant and jet-lagged to Boqueria - I ended the night very happy I was! We perched on stools at the long bar at the front of the restaurant and nibbled on 3 plates of tapas while sampling the wide range of sherry and wine by the glass. Service is very friendly and this is a lovely relaxed place to catch up with friends - it's busy and noisy but the noise comes from happy diners! I wasn't at all hungry on arrival but seeing the top of the cream catalana being crisped with a wee blowtorch in front of us couldn't resist sampling it. Goodness it's good! Even sharing it probably accounts for a day's calorie allowance in a single dish but it's worth it. Delicious! This is a great place and definitely somewhere I plan to return to next time I'm lucky enough to visit this city.

I am a foodie whose favorite part of the meal is dessert. The restaurant's dessert called "Terron" is a real taste treat and is delicious. It consists of Almond and Hazelnut Cake, Honey Dulce de Leche Ice Cream and Chantilly ($7). So many flavors, oh so good.

Interesting restaurant with high seats. Very interesting tapas. Grilled calamari and grilled octopus is outstanding. The pork chop and ham were delicious. So was the crispy potatoes. Loved the paella and lamb skewers. The desserts were all excellent. Wine choices were good and service was outstanding.

A friend of our recomended this place but we got there actually by chance on our last night in NY. it was suprisingly good. everything we orderred was perfect, had no problem with any dish, we sat on the bar, service was fast and proffessional. had the papas bravas (just like Barca), the pimiento(great!), Amazing tartar with fried quale egg, another stuffed vegetable with meat (can't remmember) and of course the awesome Choro for desser. please go.

I would recommend this place. The food was amazing. Grilled octopus was great, the lamb meatballs too, but the stuffed dates wrapped in bacon were certainly the highlight (although the sangria was awesome too). It is crowded and noisey (I was there on a Saturday evening).

I stumbled upon Boqueria's upper east side location today. There are at least three others in the city, I now know, but this was my first visit to any of the locations. What a pleasant discovery! I stopped in Boqueria around the lunch hour (midweek), and while it was rather empty, the lovely lady who welcomed us and served us made us forget who else was or was not there. Boqueria's staple is tapas, and they do an excellent job. The gambas a ajillo (shrimp with garlic) is some of the best I have ever had. Also outstanding is the squid! The lamb and beef were also good, but I would have traded them for a second helping of the gambas and squid. Boqueria's decor is cool. It has lots of blonde, basic wood, soft lighting and earth tones. They spent the money to make it nice but also to keep it subtle. I look forward to my return visit.

This place . . . is so good! I was beyond pleasantly surprised. The thing I'd like to point out first is the quality of service, in the midst of a busy evening. Dined here with a friend on a Wednesday night (Jan 11) and it was surprisingly crowded for 8pm on a Wednesday. However, two things that stood out were: we never felt rushed, and the server (I think his name was Raul) was so accommodating. He let us take our time deciding the wine, entrees, and then let us sit and chat afterwards. I've said this in other posts, and I will point it out again; it was my favorite type of service: attentive without being intrusive. Okay, so, the wine - we both chose whites and both were very good - AND they even put each order into 2 smaller glasses so we could taste both. I love little details like that. Both were Spanish whites (some of my favorites) and went very well with our food. Now, the food. We ordered: blistered shishito peppers, patatas bravas, crispy cauliflower, and smoked sardines. This was more than enough food for the two of us; in fact, by the time the smoked anchovies came out, I think we were both pretty full. Everything was really, really good. The peppers and potatoes are always good go-to choices. The smoked sardines were good as well, not too fishy, but I could have used another piece of bread with it, as the accompaniment was a pile of some of the creamiest ricotta I've ever had. We did not have dessert, but a table next to us had what looked like chocolate-dipped churros and they looked so good. The decor and ambience only added to the overall pleasant experience. High tables with high chairs throughout, along with bar/counter seating in the front or rear. I recommend, if you are dining solo, grabbing a seat at the counter in the rear - it offers a perfect view of the open kitchen. I would come here repeatedly and would consider renting out for an event. Cannot wait for next time! I hope others enjoy the same dining experience as I did. Cheers!

Boqueria is an excellent spanish tapas eatery in the upper east side that offers delicious small plates and unique options. It’s fun, lively vibe makes it an excellent option for brunch with friends or getting together after work. These eggs had a lighter less dense hollandaise sauce which was a refreshing surprise and the potato bravos were delish. And real Spanish coffee that was almost as dark and bitter as Foodee’s ex-girlfriend. . 🥑 🥑 🥑 🥑 🥑 . . Picture Below: Huevos Benedictinos Two organic poached eggs, English muffin. Hollandaise, served with mixed greens and Potatoes Bravas. Choice of Serrano ham - delivered to the salivating lips of yours truly at @boqueria $16.00

We visited Boqueria for lunch after reading the article in Town and Country magazine. Everything was delicious from the Blackberry sangria to the tapas plates!! What a great little find for a delicious lunch! The service was great as well! Would definitely recommend!

Yes, they manage to serve some interesting tapas, other Spanish dishes, and most important, to add a real Spanish smile. Service is top, and friendly. Try everything. Many choices of seating, very smart decor. Enjoy

My spouse and I dined at Boqueria for dinner on a Sunday evening in late May 2016. This site of Boqueria is located on Second Avenue between East 76st and 77nd Streets on the Upper East Side (UES). Besides the UES location, Boqueria has two other restaurants in New York (one in the Flatiron district, and one in SoHo), and one restaurant in Washington DC (near Dupont Circle); the location in Hong Kong is currently closed. Boqueria accepts reservations via telephone or by using the Open Table reservation system. The UES location is open daily for lunch (or brunch) and dinner. The Boqueria “chain” of restaurants were inspired by the best tapas bars in Barcelona. Boqueria restaurants offer New Yorkers the chance to dine as they would in Spain without having to leave the city. Chef Marc Vidal hails from Barcelona, where he began attending culinary school at the age of 16, before working for some of the leading chefs of the world, including Carles Gaig (at the Michelin starred Can Gaig in Barcelona), Ferran Adria (at the famed three Michelin starred restaurant El Bulli in Spain), and Alain Passard (at the three Michelin starred restaurant L’Arpege in Paris). In 2010, Marc joined the Boqueria team as Executive Chef. The Upper East Side location of Boqueria opened in 2014 and seats about 80 guests, with about 30 of those seats located in the bar/lounge, 7 seated at the chef’s counter, and the remaining covers in the main dining area. Note that all tables at this restaurant are high; there are true high-top tables and communal tables with bar stools, but even the seats at the high tables that share the raised leather banquette, as well as those in the bar area and at the regular bar and the chef’s counter, require a guest to climb onto a bar stool or onto a banquette seat at the same height as a bar stool. For this reason, we do not think that the restaurant is quite handicap-accessible. (A member of our family has some mobility issues, and we would not be able to dine comfortably with her at this location of Boqueria, except perhaps at the regular-height al fresco tables on the front sidewalk.) The tan brick walls and wood plank floor are accented by mirrors and Edison bulbs, which provide a cozy atmosphere. On a busy Sunday night (as part of a holiday weekend), there was a great noisy buzz and busy vibe at the restaurant. In keeping with the Spanish “tapas” tradition of small plates, we decided to share five savory dishes, which our server delivered in a staggered manner depending on how the chef and his staff prepared them. We started with some cheese and charcuterie: cana de cabra cheese (creamy mild tangy citrus goat’s milk cheese from Murcia) and and lomo Iberico (Spanish pork loin), served on a wooden cutting board along with baguette slices, raisin walnut bread, very tiny pitted olives, and chopped dried fruit [possibly apricots]). Next, we enjoyed the pinxto moruno (seared lamb skewers, topped with pickled shallots and salsa verde and served atop thick slices of bread in order to soak up the sauces/drippings); the lamb skewers were one of our favorite dishes of the night. Then we shared the coca de mallorquina (grilled flatbread topped with pork sausage, caramelized onions, Mahón cheese [Spanish cow’s milk], and several tiny sunny-side-up quail eggs, the yolks of which we broke and allowed to ooze over the other ingredients before we ate the slices). Our last two savory dishes were the piquillos rellenos (red sweet [not hot] peppers stuffed with braised oxtail and topped with crispy shallots, served on a spread of celery root puree), followed by the piece de resistance, fideua negre (toasted black squid ink noodle paella, topped with shrimp, clams, and a dollop of aioli). To finish our meal, we shared the torrija, a Spanish dessert that consists of bread soaked in milk, then deep-fried and finally baked, placed atop of spread of plum compote and topped with a scoop of coffee ice cream. (The bread is crispy outside but smooth inside.) Because we sat at the chef’s counter, he was also kind enough to present us with a complimentary order of the Nutella churros (fried dough filled with hazelnut spread and sprinkled with cinnamon sugar). Boqueria holds a full liquor license; if you feel adventurous, try the “porron”, a traditional Spanish drinking vessel that looks like a glass watering can. It can be filled with any liquor, and you drink from it by holding it over your head and pouring so that the stream lands in your mouth. (The poron is automatically delivered with one of the vegetable-based dishes on the menu so that the liquor enhances the flavor of the food.) So many restaurants today call themselves “tapas” establishments (meaning that they serve lots of small plates and appetizers, although not necessarily Spanish cuisine), but Boqueria is the real deal and provides a mostly authentic experience.

A very nice brunch in this Catalan outpost. The meat plata was wonderful. As were the pan tomate . We also had the octopus with potato brava, and the croquettes with cava. All were very good. It was a bit too noisy for me but theropod and service was excellent.

Took our family with 3 kids, teenagers here for Sunday brunch. We had the endless brunch, it's too much food but the service and food was good.

This has become our favorite neighborhood restaurant. The service is perfect and Michael, our Waiter the last two visits, is exceptional. My wife is from Barcelona and she is very impressed with the quality of the food and the preparation.

Nice energy. Good food. Great service. Had bacon wrapped dates, shrimp, and flat bread. All were excellent. Attentive service and reasonable prices.

I have been coming to this chain for years. Love the pan con tomato, Gambia’s, Brussels sprouts, monchego and chorizo. Great drink menu.

Our kids have been talking about this place for a while and we finally tried it yesterday with them. We were not disappointed. The service (Oscar P.) and the food were both very good. We had brunch so we picked 4 starters, 2 mains and a desert with bottomless red or white Sangria. We will definitely return. I will say it is a bit tight with the seating arrangements so be prepared.

Boqueria uses quality ingredients and the food is tasty. But it falls short of what can be found in the average tapas joint in Spain. If you remember that you are in a chain restaurant in America, then you might not be disappointed. Service is excellent. The place can get very loud.

Best tapas in the city!! Every time I visit New York I have to visit this restaurant. Amazing food and drinks with great ambiance. Highly recommend

I just discovered Boqueria & have to say we so enjoyed dining at Boqueria UES. It is worth checking it out. Think there are a few others in NYC but I have only been to the UES restaurant. If you are hanging out on the upper east side NYC check this place out. Well, it is on 2nd avenue but don't let that deter you, just get there. Hey! trust me, you will have a great meal and wink, wink...the drinks are also delish. Oops...almost forgot to mention that we had great service. I had a great time with friends, I am sure you will too.

very good service and super tasty food. the restaurant is always busy, i suggest to reserve a table. nice atmosphere and internal decor.

Had lunch here right after my friend's interview. Food was delicious overall, definitely worth the price for quality. Staff was also very friendly and the atmosphere definitely added to the experience.

Unfair practice of having all or none on brunch special. We elected the regular menu. They do not refill coffee and stat off with a half a cup! The food was either not at proper temperature and one dish was not properly cooked. Manager was extremely hospitable gave us extra free coffee and did remove the food that was not properly cooked from the bill. Maybe just a bad day, but would not recommend this nice neighborhood establishment.

loved the paella, superb for vegetarians the bread and cheese plate was superb too the aubergine dish needs a special mention nice family eatery

Really enjoyed the food here. Love the vibe. Can be a bit difficult to make reservations (pre-pandamic)

Great food good service sitting in front when the line is long is perfectly fine. The service was fast the dishes were good sized for tapas and delicious.

After spending some time in Spain, I really wanted to find a place near home that was close enough to the local Catalonian food. This was place was enough... The drinks are pretty good, sangria is good.. I recommend Gin and Tonic. Good cheese selection and Jamon iberico. Make a reservation as it does get crowded.

We chanced upon this restaurant and on seeing positive yelp reviews, we gave up waiting on a nearby highly regarded Thai restaurant. I'm glad we did. We were able to begin relaxing and enjoying a lovely pitcher of white wine, fruit, and whiskey sangria all the sooner! All dishes were delicious and well presented, especially the lamb skewers, the mussels, and the bacon-wrapped dates. The service was attentive and friendly. The atmosphere was warm, relaxing, and stylish. I would recommend!

Boqueria has earned it's fifth star! This is our go to restaurant when I want to stay local sans kids. We have also ordered delivery from them on several occasions. Boqueria is especially good for lunch. The restaurant is adorable, love the high stools. The staff is super friendly and accommodating. The bathrooms are immaculate. The sangria is delicious - I especially like the red, but you have a choice of red, white and rose. The cava is amazing. These are some of our favorites and suggestions (we have eaten pretty much everything on the menu and you can't go wrong): Bacon wrapped dates - filled with mild bleu cheese - decadent and delicious Charcuterie (meat and cheese combo) - fantastic! Love their chorizo, delicious and not very spicy Mushroom and Serrano ham croquets - gooey deliciousness Fried quail egg on chorizo toast - amazing, they get the quail egg just right Shishito peppers- terrific Lamb meatballs - delicious Sautéed Spinach with raisins - so good Sautéed Mushrooms with Manchebo Cheese - perfect Pan con Tomato - tasty, but I wouldn't order it on its own. It comes with the charcuterie. Crispy potatoes in garlic aioli - terrific Shaved Fennel Salad with Grilled Shrimp - this was good but not great. I am not a big fan of grilled shrimp Hangar Steak Sandwich - very good but I like the tapas too much to order this again Their marinated olives that come with the charcuterie are also worth mention - so very good Serrano ham and manchego sandwich - delicious, but I love the tapas too much to just get sandwiches Churros with Nutella - decadent French Toast with coffee ice cream - delicious So as you can tell by now, I really really really love this restaurant.

Nice decor. Good food. Short pour on wine and $7 for tap water. Service was ok. Felt a little taken so I don't think I'll ever go back.

Not only was the food amazingly good, but the service was spectacular. We were a party of 5 and all of us agreed that Andrea (our server) could not have done a better job. Back to the food... I am a latino who has had this kind of food since I was a baby, and I have to say that I have never had better "Gambas al Ajillo" which translates to garlic shrimp. The "Patatas Bravas" or "Angry Potatoes" (spicy) were incredible. I can't say enough about everything. Great place, great experience great service.

This is the only Boqueria location that does this, but if you sit at the bar, you can order three items from the tapas menu (per person) for $15 weekdays from noon to 3:30. If you're there with at least one friend, that adds up to a boatload of food! Between the two of us, we had: escalivada, calamares a la Andaluza, the pork sausage bocadillo, patatas bravas, and two orders of albondigas. No substitutions are permitted, so I added a tapa of pimientos de padron. Of the dishes we had, the least appealing were the patatas bravas (a little bland and a touch on the cold side) and, sadly, the peppers, which could've used a bit more blister and a lot more salt. Everything else I would order again--the lamb meatballs in particular were savory and delicious. Having been in Barcelona recently, we didn't expect the portions to be quite so hearty. Even though we were quite hungry, we ended up with too much food for two. If you're not ravenous, you can swap in a beverage (wine or sangria, beer, or a non-alcoholic "refresher") or churros with hot chocolate for a dessert instead. Service was friendly and efficient, and we were each treated to a tot of Amontillado to finish the meal. I would absolutely do the lunch deal again, but I'm also interested in going back for dinner to try tapas that aren't on the lunch menu.

I have only been to the 19th street location and that was nice but this is a very welcome addition to the Upper East Side...very delicious food and great service.

One of our regular haunts for a noisy energetic dinner, highly recommended. We prefer seats at the bar rather than a table reservation. Not traditional Spanish tapas, more of a a Spanish fusion, but the tortilla is a staple and reminds us of tortillas enjoyed in Spain. Gambas al Ajillo is great and an option from the seasonal tapas can also be special. One of our favourite Spanish restaurants outside of Spain (there's also a Spanish restaurant on Staten Island that gives here a run for its money). We have been to another Boqueria and the service there was lacking compared to here.

There is one good reason to go here and that's for the food. On our visit, my first, it was uniformly very good whether the dish was fish based, meat based or vegetarian. We had a terrific server...and were seated quickly (we went early) though we didn't have a reservation. By 7PM the place was packed, so reservations are a good idea at prime hours. So many different things to choose from, no matter how many dishes you get, you'll still miss a couple of great ones... I wouldn't bother with the desserts however...we tried several and neither was particularly strong. I was rather disappointed with the churros which were quite thin and hard...more like pretzels than churros I've enjoyed elsewhere. Wine we had was quite good too...and expensive. My bottom line is always would I come back and eat again...and it's yes...I would. I would skip the dessert next time and try a few more different tapas...

I thought this place was wonderful. I went with 7 family members on a Thursday night and we had a wonderful experience. So wonderful that i went back the next evening on a date! The manager Fran is phenomenal. She brought me and my date over 2 glasses of champagne on the house, then she gave us the Nutella-filled churros for dessert on the house! Our waitress Vianca was incredible. So attentive and kind. We had her both nights, and I would go back just to hang out with her! As for the stuff that really matters, the freakin food OMG! So delicious. You MUST have the bacon-wrapped dates stuffed with goat cheese, and the mushroom croquettes were to die for. You should go here. Really wonderful spot. Enjoy!

Came in for lunch having just left the Met. We were just in time for the happy hour menu and it was superb. Had the eggplant dip, lamb meatballs, patatas bravas, manchego and ham, and chorizo bocadillo. EVERYTHING was absolutely delicious and at $15 a head it was superb value for money. Would definitely return.

A very good restaurant on the UES. Delicious food. Great wines. Attentive, genuine services Buy place With a mix of young and older people. Loud but not crazy loud. Octopus, peppers, ham, eggplant... all good. If you are in the hood, go, but try to reserve first.

Good location, decor and atmosphere. Unfortunately our server was miserable and the three main vegetarian options that attracted our vegetarians to the restaurant were off the menu (spinach, mushrooms and eggplant) which limited choice. Steak and lamb skewers went down well though

I love tapas for the ability to get a variety of things in small portions and was excited to try this place. We had 6 items leisurely spaced out over about an hour. The first item up, stuffed dates wrapped in bacon were superb. Some croquettes arrived as we were finishing the dates, but they were ho-hum by comparison. Our third small plate, some type of acorn squash with lots of yummy goodness was excellent, but from there it was downhill. We had a very tough piece of octopus served over a bland pile of mash potatoes. A dish of meatballs were ok, but I could do as well at home. Then there was a lengthy wait for a final course, some seafood with black squid ink noodles. The shrimp and clams were overcooked, and the noodles were burned to the bottom of the pan, not pleasantly caramelized, burned. That last dish could have been a show stopper if prepared correctly, but it left a bad taste in my mouth and I left the restaurant disappointed in the overall meal.

This is a great spot for Spanish tapas. Atmosphere: the UES locations feels lively and fun. They have comfy booths and I really enjoy the bar seating if it’s just two of us. Food: they have a good selection of veggie dishes. I really like the pan con tomate, the bread is perfectly toasted and the tomato puree tastes fresh and simply seasoned. I also enjoy the croquettes. They don’t feel oily and I really like the filling. They also have great sangrias.

I have been to the UES location a half dozen times and I’ve never been disappointed. The food is delicious, reasonably priced and authentically Spanish. Don’t miss the pan con tomate, gambas with garlic and olive oil, the pimentos padron, tortilla or the albondigas. I have brought friends on each visit and everyone raves about the food.

I started the meal off with the Chicken Liver Pate with Red Onion Marmalade, $10, (see my photo) which I enjoyed very much. Then I had the dates wrapped in bacon ($7) which I did not care for, I thought that they had little taste. After that I had, I quote the menu, "Braised Oxtail Stuffed Piquillo Peppers." They should put the words Piquillo Peppers first because there was little noticeable taste of oxtail, so it was a complete disappointment. If you like, you can ask to sit at the chef's counter (see photo) and watch them prepare the food.

Book a table as it tends to be crowded Friendly and professional staff Service is efficient Good food with a large choice of tapas Slightly expensive for a tapas place, but you pay for quality

My wife and I have been dining here when we go to NYC. It has a wide selection of tapas which are all quite good. The croquetas are our favorite. Very friendly staff. The space is a bit cramped but maybe because they are always full when we go there.

Four college friends in NYC for the weekend dined here and found something delicious for every taste! We chose 6 dishes total and there was PLENTY of yummy food for 4. Highly recommend this place!

The most ridiculous expensive jamon Iberico!! If you're willing to spend 34dollars just for 2 slices then go for it, the quality is good, but let's be realistic 34 dollars is just too much for this amount of food.

Very delicious food, polite staff and cozy ambience. Everything was perfect. Personally I think this is one of the best places in Manhattan. The skills of the chef are amazing. The food she made was absolutely fabulous. The whole crew worked as a team in order to make us feel welcome.

This rating should actually be Good instead of Very Good because there are some hits and some misses. I lived in Spain for four years and never once had paella as bad as this was. The rice was charred on the bottom, giving the whole thing an overwhelmingly burnt taste, and the shellfish was cooked to death. The rice wasn't even vaguely yellow from saffron, but more like a gray color. I would have sent it back, but I didn't want to embarrass my dinner host. On the other hand, the tortilla espanola was excellent, as was the platter of meats and cheeses, and the pan con tomate. The croquetas were another "miss" mostly because they were served on top of a strangely sweet sauce. Leave the sauce off and the croquettes were pretty good. The atmosphere at the Boqueria was lively and crowded on a Saturday night. The waiter was attentive and efficient, although he should have warned us about the paella. Be aware that the price can add up quickly since the menu is large and you might be tempted to order a lot of small plates (tapas).

With the help of our friendly server Freddy, we picked 4 delicious small plates, with only one not necessarily hitting the mark like the others. That one was the Gambas al Ajillo, a Shrimp dish with, garlic, brandy, sherry vinegar, and Guindilla pepper, although good, nothing special. At the other end of the spectrum were the Piquillos Relenos, Braised Oxtail stuffed piquillo peppers, celery root purée, shallots, red wine jus. This was definitely the hit of the night. The traditional Spanish omelet of eggs, confit potatoes and Spanish onion was delicious as was the Serrano Ham. This may not sound like a lot to eat but we were more than satisfied. So with 2 beers, before tip, the bill came to around $69.00. Definitely worth a return visit to sample other items from their interesting menu.

The good: the drinks. Cocktails and sabgria are pretty good. Not exceptional, but pretty good. The spanish hams hanging in the window look pretty good too (but we didnt have it) The not so good: the food. Some of our tapas tasted like they had been prepared hours ago -we were there for dinner- or even the day before, who knows, and reheated. The dates were like that, as were the croquetas and the quail eggs with chorizo. They were barely warm when they arrived at the table and lacked the consistency/crispiness of freshly made food. The taste was ok though and other tapas were freshly cooked. So overall mixed impressions. If going for tapas there are better options, but maybe not in that immediate area

This tapas place is popular, especially with the younger crowd. We dined here on a Friday night and found the tapas we ordered delicious! The shrimps in olive oil and garlic, the patatas brava, and the citrus salad (loved the combo of grapefruit, manchego and fennel) were all tasty. Note that all the seating is at high tables (a challenge for us shorties) and there is loud music. We were right under a speaker.

I recently had dinner at Boqueria with 11 friends/colleagues. The food was outstanding and the service was very good. I was the organizer of the group and was asked by the chef if we wanted the $49 tasting menu or the $60 tasting menu (per person). We decided on the $60 tasting menu. If I had to do it again, I would go with the $49 menu as there ended up being too much food, and people couldn't finish the last course prior to dessert (which was actually a very large course with excellent seafood). I received lots of thanks for arranging the dinner as everyone really enjoyed it! The tasting menu had something for everyone, and the sangria was very good too.

Went to Boqueria with a great friend after an Art Gallery showing. This restaurant is one of my friends favorite place to eat and it is in her neighborhood. We arrive about 9:30 pm and the place was jumping. Every table was filled so we sat at the bar with a ringside seat to the kitchen. We had a appetizer plate with cheese, ham, salami, two different types of breads, and grapes. For the main course we had a wonderful paella and a great bottle of spanish red wine. The food was delicious and the wine paired very nice with the meal. Service was efficient and friendly and the waiters were very good answering questions about each of the dishes. This is a great place to have dinner and meet friends.

This was my second visit to Boqueria UES with my daughter. It is our go to spot when I visit her. I first experienced Boqueria in SoHo for my favorite dessert Churros and chocolate last year. In December, my daughter told me about this location and we had the most fabulous dinner of Spanish style small plates. This visit in January was midweek and a bit later in the evening. To our surprise, we had a slight wait as the place was rocking busy. Not a problem as we enjoyed a great glass of Tempranillo until seated. The great thing is that the dishes are unique, flavorful with lovely presentation. We enjoyed and this a must try....blue cheese stuffed dates wrapped in bacon!!!! YUM with the wine, the combo is fabulous. We enjoyed a radicchio salad with pear slices and manchego cheese which was fabulous as well. The chef kindly honored my request for skirt steak order as we enjoyed this in December and again it was delicious! Now we were ready for the churros....ah...heaven! Churros are extruded pastry flash fried and rolled in cinnamon sugar (think donut sticks) and accompanied by a small bowl of dark chocolate sauce that is a cross between a sauce and pudding. They also have Nutella filled churros that the neighboring table offered us a taste of. This is a fabulous place for a quick bite or a more evolved dinner of Spanish cuisine. The service is outstanding and the manager is right there helping the servers make the experience a fantastic one! I will be back this month when I visit....it is just that fantastic!!!!!

Had brunch here last Saturday. The place was full but we only had to wait a short time. Excellent all you can drink brunch. You have your choice of mimosas, white, red or rose sangria and you can try all! We chose the 5 tapas and paella for the hole table (3). The tapas were delicious as was the paella. We left with a to-go bag. Dessert was also included. Service was great never had to wait for a drink refill. We will definitely be returning!

Place is small and perhaps a bit tight, but beautiful modern warm industrial vibe, high tables in back and front. Front/bar area is more spacious. Brunch menu was great lots of tapas choices: although the pan con tomate was nothing special, the octopus was great, pimientos de padrón could have been more charred, the croquetas were finger-licking good, and the churros con chocolate were perfection. A bit overpriced for the amount of food you get (they are tapas after all) but still good.

I have been dining at the Boqueria in DC for years and have a wonderful meal and experience each time. I don't know why I waited so long, but I just recently went to the one on the upper east side of Manhattan. We arrived a little early for our 5:30 reservations and were not able to be seated until they officially started the dinner service. I guess because all the help was sitting in the back having their family meal in between seatings. Our waiter was great and steered us towards some of his favorites and we appreciated his honesty about some items we were "thinking" about ordering that based on our discussion he did not think we would like. The food was very good and from DC we are used to not getting our food all at once. When it is ready and hot it is delivered to your table. And of course we had a pitcher of their classic sangria, always a favorite. Only one of us had room for dessert and ordered the delicious churro sundae. I think next I will try the Flatiron location for their Boozy Brunch!!

We have been to Boqueria three times for brunch in the last few months. Our first visit followed extensive research into where to find a good Spanish restaurant nowadays – something that has become difficult after Spanish food went somewhat out of fashion. Based on how difficult it has recently become to reserve a table at a good Spanish restaurant, it seems that Spanish food is making a comeback, with the few surviving and new Spanish restaurants now in great demand. Our research found that Boqueria was a good bet. We were not disappointed. The food is excellent, the cocktails are excellent, and the interior design of the restaurant is modern and tasteful. The brunch menu is really good and of the various main dishes, huevos con bistec is definitely my favorite. The main drawback with Boqueria is the difficulty of getting a table. They take dinner reservations only for parties of six or more – and then you are restricted to the Chef’s Menu. That pretty much rules Boqueria out for a dinner date (and this is why we have only been there for brunch). Another slight drawback is the barstool-height chairs which are frankly a bit uncomfortable. These points aside, Boqueria provides the best Spanish-dining experience I have had in Manhattan at any time.

I am so excited to review this wonderful restaurant! The hubby and I have been checking it out since it opened and have been waiting for a chance to check it out. We went in for lunch today and were totally not disappointed. The restaurant is rustic and clean looking, not at all divey like Souther Hospitality was. It has an open kitchen and high tables with benches (that alone makes the restaurant not kid-friendly, but not everything needs to be). The wait staff is super friendly and helpful. The menu was comprised of appetizers, salads, sandwiches and an entire page of small plates. We had a few small plates and shared a sandwich. We had: Lamb Meatballs - delicious with goat cheese Dates stuffed with bleu cheese and wrapped in bacon - so good we ordered a second plate. Sauteed Spinach with chickpeas and golden raisins (the only kind I will eat) - delicious Sauteed wild mushrooms with Manchego cheese - delicious Serrano Ham and Manchego cheese sandwich on a baguette - delicious Churros with Nutella for dessert - yummy and fresh We also indulged in a few glasses of Cava, which was terrific. We will definitely come back and whats even better is that they do take-out!!

Oct. 2018 Great vibe and decor, beautiful lighting and bar setup. Servers were super friendly, fast and seemed to like being there. Gambas, Albondigas, Mahon and the special Pancheta Rustida - Holy Moly!! Will return whenever I get to the City

Very cosy restaurant with an amazing food. It is a bit expensive, because the portions are small and you have to order around 3 portions each, but the food quality is fantastic, very well presented and delicious, I highly recommend this restaurant.

We shared the mushroom flat bread, dates with cheese and bacon (4 instead of 3 for sharing) and some cheese with pita. All were very good and enough for a light lunch on a hot NYC lunch. I had the white sangria which was just Ok my friend had Spanish tap beer. Air conditioning was welcomed. I’d go back but be aware $60 for light lunch 😮!

We are regulars here and have had almost everything on the menu. Nothing disappoints. The service is always solid, the drinks are good and it's casual yet hip vibe. This place gets busy fast so if you don't come early or make a reservation you're probably going to face a long wait. Make your life easier and come right at the beginning of happy hour or make a res.

We wanted to order the whole tapas menu. The food looked so fresh and smelled so yummy as it was delivered to the tables around us. Sautéed wild mushrooms, sautéed spinach with chick peas, garlic shrimp, eggplant, beef and a surprise favourite, octopus were just a few offerings from the 10 'small' plates that five of us ordered. The place is crazy busy but the staff are extremely friendly, forthcoming with advice and efficient at getting the food to the table. They always seemed to be on hand to replenish drinks, too. The atmosphere is very buzz, a bit noisy and for that reason I wouldn't recommend for small kids in the evenings, so get a babysitter and go out an enjoy some great food and have a glass or two of the house red.

This place specializes in Spanish tapas and cold beer, all of which was very good to excellent. The octopus was absolutely superb, one of the best that I have ever tasted. Only some small octopus fresh from the Med on a beach in Sicily were better in my experience. Small lamb roasted cylinders were very good, and the vegetarian cold omelet really hit the spot. On a Wednesday night at the cusp of happy hour, the place was packed and very very loud. I drew a table by myself near the front of the restaurant and could barely hear myself think. Next time I'll sit near the back where it's possible to watch your food being prepared. Service was fast, very friendly and very helpful in making recommendations. Cleanliness appeared to be acceptable.

We ordered amazing tapas such as chorizo, gambas, patatas, pulpo, meat balls and pork cheeks. Everthing was delicious including a seafood paella. The Sangria was refreshing!!

We like tapas so we booked here to give it a try for dinner. It's a place with a very lively vibe, the sort of destination at happy hour for groups of young staff from nearby offices. The music is not mellow Sinatra. Seating is almost all (maybe all) of the super high style that is so popular in many places. So, if you have any problem climbing into one of those high chairs, this may not be your best destination. All that said, we had a good fast meal of drinks and tapas. Service was excellent. The people at the next table were friendly. We are glad we visited Boqueria though we think the tapas are somewhat better at other places we also like.

Boqueria is amazing—this was our second time, and it did not disappoint. Cozy atmosphere, with elegant high tables, and the best way to try a variety of dishes is the Chef’s Menu. Everything we tried was incredible, including the red sangria. The staff is friendly, attentive, and makes the whole experience seamless. Highly recommended!

Love the concept of Tapas (wish the States had more of these type places) Was with a colleague on the upper east side. She suggested Boqueria (recently opened on UES). Place was fantastic. Tapas were great, service was excellent. Plan on going there again or to the location in SOHO

Very good food. They put a nice twist on it and have good ingredients. The people are nice. Look forward to going again.

Continuing our recent tour of the East side, I can heartily recommend Boqueria on Second Avenue. The place was buzzing on a Monday night. Food and service were excellent. Let the waiter guide you through the menu, thoroughly recommend the dates stuffed with almonds and Valdeón blue cheese, wrapped in bacon and Paella!!

Loved everything about this place! All of the tapas were delicious. We ordered a chef’s selection of tapas. Our waiter was wonderful, very attentive. The sangria was perfect, and the free dessert was the perfect ending to a lovely meal—churros with fudge sauce for dipping!

My husband + I had an impromptu date here the other night and loved it. They were filling up quickly at 630 on a Monday, and we had no reservation, so we were offered seats at the kitchen counter. Best seats in the house! Its always fun to watch the chefs at work while sipping wine and eating their food. We ordered a bottle of the special rose, which was cold , dry and delicious. Our tapas included incredibly seasoned sautéed mushrooms, roasted corn, perfectly cooked lamb kebobs and the most tender octopus. We left just full enough and floated home (or was it the rosé?]

went here with a couple of old friends. Couldn't get into another place we wanted, so this was Plan B. Turned out to be a good choice. Upscale looking. Mostly youngish crowd. Staff was very friendly. seated right away. Nice table (booth). Ordered several tapas.....shrimp in garlic, hanger steak, roasted jalopenos, bread with tomato, octopus.....everything was very tasty. Nice place. I could see going back. It's not cheap.....the plates add up. But great sharing experience

$39 Brunch Feast is unbelievable. It's literally a feast. So much DELICIOUS food at a great price. I've passed this place so many times and finally made the primo decision and went to brunch here today. Whoa. Blown. Away. 4 tapas plates + 2 entrees + dessert + unlimited sangria or mimosas for $39! You can't beat that people! All of the dishes were extremely flavorful, nicely plated, and well paced through the meal. The restaurant is gorgeous too. Lots of wood, pretty warm lighting, hints of yellow to add a glow to the ambiance. Really inviting and energizing feeling. I can't wait to go back for brunch again but even more so to try dinner.

UES gem. I have eaten here many times and am never disappointed. Minus the fact that you sit on top of the table next to you the food, service, and drinks are great. The small plate tapas makes it great to share and try many dishes. We enjoyed all we ate. I highly recommend it for a quaint night.

This place knows how to do brunch right with phenomenal service! Each bite has its own little piece of heaven. Brunch comes with all you can eat and shareable dishes between your party.. Patatas, eggs Benedict, churros...and I could go on and on. This is a great place for a vegetarian or a pescatarian. Can't wait to go back.

We chose to sit at the bar. We have eaten here many times since it opened in the fall of 2014. I am pleased to say that we Have never been disappointed, the paella is as good as any in Spain. The stars though are the staff, capable, professional and courteous. The wine list is good, as are the tapas. It is not one of the cheapest places on the East side but it is certainly one of the best. Stylish and good food and wine with good service what more can you ask for.

We sat at the bar and started with a drink and then went to a very nice bottle of red. With that we enjoyed several appetizers that went very well with the wine. great place to sit and chat.

And maybe the white sangria. Small plates but big taste. Can’t pinpoint a single menu item because it was all so delicious. Staff very helpful in selecting from the Spanish wine list. Lively atmosphere and did I say yum?!

We had a reservation and arrived on time. The table was ready. The wait staff was good but the Sangria was something I'd never tasted before. No fruit and no flavor. The waitress offered to switch it. The second was just as bad. And a drink from the bar was no better. All in all it was quite disappointing for a brunch over $100.00.

My wife and I stopped in for lunch last week and had a wonderful meal. The white sangria was tasty and refreshing and the three tapas we shared were great -- Gambas al ajillo, stuffed piquillo peppers and cetas. The service was prompt, courteous and not intrusive. We will definitely return.

we went for dinner and probably had almost everything on the menu for tapas. the service was amazing! Raul, our server was fabulous! a gentleman, professional , friendly. He knew that menu up and down. he was on top of his game. we never had to wait for a drink or refills of water. pimientos de padron were just more than fabulous! excellent job! the machego cheese with chorizo - so good. the tortilla del dia was cooked to perfection. my favorite - pulpo a la gallega and the gambas al ajillo. the flavor was amazing. had also the lubina bilbaina - what a fabulous fish! and of course need to have space for dessert - churros and crema catalana. the plate presentation were gorgeous - for a magazine. i was impressed with this place.

The food at Boquería is one of the best Spanish food that I've ever eaten in the US. The apella was exceptionally good, as were the other tapas. "Gambas al ajillo" and "Pan con tomates" were the universal favorites with the family. The "Jamón serrano" was pretty outstanding too.

So I don't list the entire menu, go ahead and order the Chefs Selection. It's between 12 and 15 tapas selections that are a taste sensation in every plate. Your party will leave completely satisfied. The service is always top notch and dishes come out quickly and piping hot. Best to be adventurous here especially if you are new to Tapas

Boqueria is tastefully executed in muted colours with natural wood finishes and feature chairs. The tapas selection is varied, but doesn't have the typical 'crowd pleaser' tapas options, so if that's what you are after options will be limited. The shrimps (gambas) was good and the lamb was sensational. A highlight for me was the Turron dessert - absolutely delicious - especially when paired with the recommended dessert wine. Great staff, lovely atmosphere.

The upper east side of New York City is sorely lacking in good Spanish restaurants, so Boqueria is a welcome addition. We really enjoyed the food. There is a wide selection of Tapas. I especially appreciated the seasonal offerings, which were not the usual tapas choices and added real interest to the meal. We had both wine and sangria. The sangria is very good and not too sweet. The wine list was even better. Boqueria has a number of good choices by the glass. My only caution is that the noise level gets very loud around 7:30 pm and the high tables and chairs are bit uncomfortable for an extended meal unless you have long legs. Overall, a great experience. We will return soon.

When we moved to the UES 6 years ago, it was nice, but restaurants and nightspots were a little slim. We've watched a deluge. This place is another of the recent acquisitions that have made life wonderful. Spanish tapas and the accompanying wines/drinks/beers are modestly trendy and everyone has a pretty similar repertoire, with additions they do well. Boqueria is an excellent tapas place. Small plates with intense flavors and some artful presentations as well as really tasty wines and drinks to go along. Always an assortment of cava, which also starts the evening in a festive way. We particularly enjoy the mini chef's table in the back. The front bar can be really packed early and the small tables near the front are also highly sought-after. Many of the tables are near communal, and the noise level can get pretty high early. The food makes it worth it. Service is also very, very good. We like the romaine salad, lamb preparations the patatas bravas, the octopus and any steak they may be featuring. You can be confident in sampling - we haven't had a bad dish yet. We also have come to trust the servers. Desserts are also very good. We have eaten there now probably 6 times, and will return. Not just because it's pretty close, but because it's really good.

Be inspired by the perfect seafood paella. The classic Spanish large paella was perfect for a party of five. The authentic and traditional flavor was too good!! Also, the dish was toasty and crispy with plenty of shrimp, mussels, and calamari rings. Finally, check out the creamy Spanish mushroom croquettes. It is definitely a winner and you won't be disappointed.

Family meal for five adults in the evening. Turned up without a reservation but we were happy to be squeezed in to a very full restaurant. Very knowledgeable waiter explained the menu and the specials to us in great detail. My wife & I have both eaten Tapas in Madrid, Barcelona and London, but we both agreed that this was the best of all. Everyone at the table tried some new and challenging dishes and there was not a single complaint. As each dish arrived it was greeted by a chorus of "wow - that's excellent", from the cured fish to the peppers stuffed with Ox-tail, the russian roulette of the Padron Peppers was great fun, I think we got 3 hot ones out of about 12! Will definitely go back on my next trip to NYC.

My wife and I were shopping uptown and decided last minute to pop in the Boqueia uptown location. We had eaten at their downtown( East 19 St.) last year and were not totally excited. Yesterday's experience however, was terrific from start to finish. First, they had a tasty Spanish gin. We had a delicious Iberico ham first; an artichoke salad that was excellent; the best octopus we've had in years; padron peppers; lamb meatballs; and a delicious flatbread dish with mushrooms. It was all great. The young waitstaff were helpful and charming, and the wine list had numerous interesting choices, including the fantastic Txakolini rose. We spent some bucks, but it was definitely worthwhile.

The wine list was $50-$69+. Sangria was $48 a pitcher,$13 a glass. I love tampanillo but it was $62 a bottle.Had a unknown scotch fo $14 Since they didn’t have Dewars. Ordered croquettes which were delicious. Then had lamb skewers, just ok and then had Spanish potatoes, large portion but mediocre. Overall not impressive

What a wonderful, lively place! This UES tapas bar serves some of the best small dishes...shrimp in olive oil and garlic, fresh sliced serrano ham and charcuterie, manchego cheese and pork belly to name a few. Happy hour ends at 7pm. Keep that in mind because many of the drinks and tapas are half priced! The margarita with a whole jalapeño inside was my favorite drink. The bartenders and waiters are very friendly. It's a happy bustling scene. Great food, great drinks and friendly people...it's about as good as it gets!

It distresses me that I feel compelled to share negative comments about Boquería’s Upper East Side restaurant, but as a long-time patron of the establishment, I have no choice. I have been dining out regularly during the last 12 months, embracing the various ways in which NYC restaurateurs have adapted to ever-changing rules and guidelines to protect both workers’ and diners’ safety. I understand that with the reduction in seating capacity, every restaurant needs to maximize the number of patrons on any given night. However, my recent Saturday evening experience at Boquería was antithetical to providing an enjoyable dining experience and the opposite of every other restaurant I have frequented during these challenging times. Upon arrival, my friend and I were greeted by both host and server asking for our acknowledgement that our reservation in the outdoor dining area was limited to 90 minutes. After dining for 75 minutes, we were reminded again, even though there were many unoccupied tables. After questioning the policy’s enforcement in this particular circumstance, we were approached by an experienced server, whom we knew, as well as the restaurant manager. An apology was offered for our less-than-enjoyable dining experience, but there was no acknowledgement that the 90-minute policy should not have been employed at all. What should have been an enjoyable evening turned into a laborious back-and-forth volley with no solution offered by the management. With so many other restaurants throughout the city offering exceptional food and more importantly, a welcoming attitude, there is no reason to settle for the sub-standard experience being offered by Boquería.

Made reservations for a noon brunch (party of 2) but my friend was running late and when I called, they gladly pushed our reservation to 12:30. As I was waiting for her, I ordered a blood orange sangria at the bar and it was divine! New favorite brunch drink. My friend finally arrived and the sat us right away at a good sized table for two. The place wasn't crazy packed yet but it eventually was about an hour later. We shared the tomato rubbed toast which was good and I got the eggs benedict. My main was real good. I have only had better eggs benedict at one place in my life at that was at Clinton St. Baking Co. But these reminded me of that dish and were strong competition. We also shared the patatas bravas which were to die for. I would come back just for these potatoes. Of course we dessert, we got the chocolate filled churros and they were yummy. Overall, it was a filling, tasty brunch! Unfortunately I did not get to do the brunch feast but I am returning this weekend so I can cross that off the list and try more of the menu.

The pre set menu worked perfectly for our party of six. The dates wrapped in bacon, the mushroom and the sweet potato appetizers were excellent and we all agreed that we could have stopped there, especially when accompanied by the Sangria of the day. But the seafood paella and the rest of the dishes were so delicious that no one stopped with the appetizers. The staff was very helpful and moved us to a more comfortable table when they noticed that one woman in our party wore an after surgery foot boot. All in all , a great choice for a nice evening out

If you've ever been to Spain and experienced their amazing tapa cuisine, you will find Boqueria to be your sanctuary in NYC. Start with the amazing 3 cheese plate, and then work your way through amazing shared tapas. Must haves include shishito peppers, incredible charred octopus over olive oil mashed potatoes, STELLAR garlic shrimp, perfect pan con tomate, mouthwatering croquettes. And who doesn't end the meal with the churros with chocolate sauce? Pair all this with perfectly made red sangria and then maybe a nice bottle of Spanish wine, and you will be in food heaven.

My partner really wanted Spanish food. She loved the experience in Spain during her birthday in 2017 and kept insisting of more Spanish food. Well , we had to comply. Searched and we found this tapas place. It’s a bit expensive. However , the seafood Tapas are to die for. Must try item. We did not have to reserve , maybe because we were there during a weekday. Please do try.

Much needed tapas place on the UES. Great service at the bar. Try the blood orange sangria for a refreshing twist. Dates, patatas bravas and Serrano ham are delicious and everything looked good. Nutella churros are addictive, so save room.
Awful, avoid this one.
You can't serve Tapas one plate at a time and expect it to be an enoyable experience. OK so it was a Saturday night - busy, despite it being very expensive and noisy, but the food which could once have tasty, arrived dribbling from the kitchen one plate at a time with far too long between the arrival of each and finally culmiinating in the almost warm plate of meatballs which I guess had languished forgotten on the counter for far too long. Clearly it has earned a good reputation in the past, but now cant cope with its over popularity. Try somewhere else or be prepared to come away disappointed.
