Borgo is a fairly simply adorned space. The artwork is cool but unobtrusive. The linens are nicely starched & ironed. The servers are casual in attire yet professional in delivery. I would classify this place as simple, rustic, unpretentious Italian cooking. We had the fava bean purees, ravioli with pesto, veal satimbacca & broccoli rabe. We enjoyed all the dishes. The fava dish was somewhat less inspiring (although everyone says to order it). But the veal was divine. Cooked & sauced to perfection. We received excellent direction from the sommelier, Matthew. He knew his stuff and guided us to a mineral forward Italian white. We had a very pleasant evening here. We chatted briefly with the manager and she exuded the comfort & charm of the room. Nothing fancy, just honest cooking.

We went to Borgo for a birthday dinner during our trip to NYC, and it was an incredible experience. The first highlight was the space itself — beautifully designed, with soft lighting and candles that create a warm, intimate atmosphere. The second (and most memorable) highlight was the service. We were taken care of by Daniel, and I honestly can’t emphasize enough how friendly, attentive, and helpful he was. Probably the best server I’ve ever had. From the very first interaction he was incredibly professional yet approachable, and his food and drink recommendations were spot on. The third highlight was the food. We ordered the ragù fettuccine and the lamb shank. Both dishes were excellent, but the lamb absolutely stole the show. I’d highly recommend giving Borgo a try.

New York has so many wonderful restaurants and Borgo is one of them. Once we knew we were going to NYC we calendared a reminder to book a spot when the date opened up. There were three of us which gave us an opportunity to try several different offerings. Everything we ate was bursting with amazing flavors. We savored every bite and decided we would return for a second meal before our departure. We were just a pleased the second time. In addition to the delicious food the spaces are warm and inviting. The hosts and waitstaff were the best.

My wife and I had the absolute pleasure of dining at Borgo last week and it was absolutely perfect. The physical facility is beautiful, the food was delicious consisting of creative upgrades to favorite Italian dishes and the service was exceptional as the entire staff was friendly, knowledgeable and attentive.

Borgo took over the space left by I Trulli. It is a lovely space, attractive for winter and sunlit, plus it has a great garden out back. The decor is understated and the service is perfect. The soundproofing needs work.it was too loud at lunch even though tables are well-spaced. Despite rave reviews when it opened, lunch reservations are easy to get. The regional Italian menu had very few things I actually wanted to eat. I settled for two appetizers. There are, however, some pastas. I won’t become a regular but I will return…maybe for dinner.

Walked by this restaurant on the night we arrived in NYC and knew we had to eat here before leaving. Tonight, we did just that, and we are SO glad we were able to get a walk-in booking! (they were fully booked online). Absolutely delicious, top notch food & drinks. Buzzing restaurant. Great atmosphere. Friendly knowledgeable staff. If you're a bit of a foodie then you need to go here! You won't be disappointed.

It looks like the kind of place you might take your parents. Lovely decor. Well spaced tables with crisp white linen tablecloths. Warm welcome at the door. But that's where the class act first impression ends. Deafening noise level. We were a table of 4 and had to shout. Encouraged to order 4-5 appetizers and 4-5 main courses with prices above $50 each; the place does not invite overindulgence. The only memorable dish was $72 bronzino.Portions were tiny. Prices high. The bill withbottle of medium priced Barberesco amounted to $600. We left hungry.
So good! So good! So good!
As Niel Diamond says - So Good! So Good! So Good! We were a party of five and ate family style. We ordered the Lasagna, Whole Roasted Branzino and the Wood-Oven Chicken Marsala. Honestly, we couldn’t choose a favorite. The service, atmosphere and drinks and appetizers were all excellent. I’d highly recommend this restaurant.
