Had the most amazing night here - the staff were so welcoming and Anthony in particular went beyond to make sure our first visit whilst holidaying in New York was extra special. Would definitely recommend the bread and butter pudding- excellent

What a great find. Spotted it when walking the high line, I had the lasagne and it was very tasty , good size and full of flavor. They have $5 glass of prosecu offer on at lunch which is good. Rest of the group had the chicken pasta (can’t remember exact dish but it had broccoli in) , they all said it was excellent and we sent back four completely empty plates Oh and the garlic cheesy bread was excellent all be it very garlicy !;-)

I love this place for a group or a small dinner - always have the best time! The food is delicious and the service must be good, as I always seem to get over-served (lol - not is a bad way)!

I stopped here around 6:45 p.m. after a very long day at the office (I sent my first email of the day at 3:58 a.m.). I had about 45 minutes to kill awaiting Handsome Companion. I sat at the bar, ordered a glass of Malbec, and settled in to catch up on email. The bartender brought me the wine. I might have ordered a small plate had I been asked, but I was never asked. Pity, as the offerings looked interesting. The dining area was full, the diners looked happy. It was nice for my purposes.

My host called this a "neighborhood" restaurant. It's in the art gallery district of West Chelsea. It was Winter so the garden area was enclosed and heated from above, but below table level it was drafty. At least one could have a conversation without yelling, but in this part of the restaurant, you may need to augment the light to read the menu. When it came to desert our friend ordered the chocolate pudding to which the waiter instantly responded saying "it was the best thing on the menu." I think he was correct. The mixed salad comes pre-dressed and oil and vinegar are not offered .... The sliced grilled steak was swimming in the oil from the rather tasteless fagioli spagnoli, the rigatoni was floating in some heavily laden bell pepper sauce - no parmigiano cheese was offered. The bottle or Gavi wine cost $42, while two nights earlier in a real neighborhood Italian restaurant in Turin, the same wine cost $16. The chocolate pudding must have been good as our friend consumed it before we had a chance to taste it. It was lovely to see our friend, but next time I'd be happier to meet in a good old neighborhood Greek dinner. But then again, it's hard to find one of those anymore.

We grabbed sandwiches from the Bottino take out portion of the restaurant and ate them on the Highline. They had a wide variety of sandwiches and salads with many choices for vegetarians and meat eaters. I enjoyed the grilled eggplant sandwich- it was the right amount of ingredients without making the sandwich too big. Do not be turned away by the small size of the take out place, the line moves very quickly.

In the middle of a weekday when my wife and I were visiting Chelsea art galleries, we decided to try this place for lunch, based on its menu. We were surprised not only with how large the space was, but also by how good the food was. We both started with a "Spicy Tomato Gazpacho" ($12), presented in a large portion, and which we agreed was excellent. We both chose salads for our main course: I got a "Burrata, Heirloom Tomato, Grilled Peach, Avocado, in a Villa Manodori Balsamic" ($28), which also was excellent, and in a sensible portion, while my wife got the "Little Gem Salad: Anchovy Pecorino Vinaigrette, Grilled Corn, with Focaccia Croutons ($22): a gem of a salad. We were ready to come back after the gazpacho, and I loved the cocktail: "Tony Thomas: blue coat gin, muddled cucumber, rosemary syrup, soda." ($18).

We had reservations at another Italian restaurant for our group of 10, but something went wrong with the reservation, and we found ourselves doing a quick search on Yelp for a close restaurant that we could get into on a busy Saturday night. Bottino was not happy to see us, but they reluctantly pushed tables together so we could be seated. Our server continued to demonstrate her unhappiness with our large group throughout the meal. I don't know why she was unhappy-it wasn't late and our group was well behaved. Although the service was unpleasant, the food was remarkably good. The house red was decent and reasonably priced. I had the Caprese salad, which was well done even though tomatoes aren't at their best in January. The ravoli verdi, however, was absolute perfection. The ravoli were white, but served on a plate mixed with fresh basil and spinach leaves. The presentation was beautiful and the pasta was tender and delicious. This is the kind of dish that I will probably try to make at home, without success. I shared bread pudding with a few others in my party-it was okay, but not worth the calories. I will definitely go back for the ravoli.

This restaurant has a lovely atmosphere, the service was pretty good and quick but the food was nothing exciting I'm afraid. I took a group of 6 here for a pre-show dinner (we went to see Sleep No More). It was perfectly adequate but nothing to write home about. The drinks I think were the best part of the meal so be sure to have a cocktail or two. Again I should say the staff were great, but I think they should seriously look at up-ing their menu game.

If you are exhausted from seeing beautiful art in Chelsea, among the best art galleries in town, you could as well nourish your body, after brain and soul. This is the case of Bottino, Italian restaurant with feel-like-home dishes, pasta in primis, an good meat. I always go there while I work in Chelsea. They even prepare salad to take away.

Nice spot on Tenth, and there is an outdoor dining area which - if it's the right weather - is awesome. Service was attentive and pleasant. The food quality was quite good as well, we started with a half order of green ravioli which was a daily special. Cooked perfectly to a nice al dente with delicious filling and sauce. Also had the pear gorgonzola salad. Entrees were another special: tagliatelle pasta with lobster and shrimp in a red sauce and a trusty Filet Mignon with mashed potato and broccoli rabe. Both dishes were very good, cooked exactly right and with a great flavor profile. We recommend Bottino and will return here. If you go to the galleries in SOHO, this is a great spot for drinks and dinner afterwards!

Lauren the manager made sure that all eight members of our family had a fabulous time, worked around our excitement to being all together after many years and some life altering events with the passing of a sister, niece, aunt, mother and sister-in-law. Now the wine and hard drinks were excellently delivered with the array of food was just right. I enjoyed the shitake grilled mushrooms and arugula although still healing from serious dental surgery and work. It tasted very good. The lasagna was a huge hit with at least three of us. By the end of our dinner all of the dishes were empty with big smiles om our faces.

Considering the crazy prices in NYC, I thought the quality of food for the price at Bottino was good. I had the lamb and my husband had the steak. Both were cooked as ordered and were quite tasty. Expect to spend about $100 if you each have a drink with dinner.

Small portions for big prices, 25$ pasta for what I call a very small portion. 38$ for Lamb chops that were thin cut and over cooked. The calamari was not fresh it was frozen.

Really enjoyed this restaurant - the food and the atmosphere are wonderful. Even though this is in the middle of Manhattan, the views are all of trees and totally scenic.

Much to our surprise, the management of Bottino contacted us about our Valentine's Day rushed dinner. He explained that they had a plan in place should they have gotten busy but the restaurant was slow & the plan should not have been used. They offered us a gift certificate for a dinner at another time. We took up the offer not letting the restaurant know we were coming. We were plesantly surprised the food was excellent, the service supperb. We look forward to going again.

Unfortunately, we recently celebrated our 20th anniversary at Bottino, a restaurant we have long enjoyed with our friends. The food was great as always, but the hostess and waiters were quite fretful about our party, as they had three gallery opening parties scheduled to follow us. A couple of late guests (the locals, of course) were enough to tip the balance on timing. We were pretty much hustled through our three courses, but found ample room in the clubby bar to catch up with friends we rarely see. Not incidentally, less than a week before, the restaurant management assured me that we would have as much time as we liked to celebrate at our table. (NOTE: There is usually a wait for the johns, which are not as nicely maintained as you might like. But there is a secret one in the back.)

We come here after an opening of an Art Exhibit at night. Can't be beat. The food is Nice but the atmosphere is amazing. Lots of Art World people enjoying dinner. It's much more fun at night, but you must make a reservation. I only like the Garden. It's a simple restaurant, but the people are wonderful here. I find it friendly. Lots of Americans and Europeans. Dress in black. Like the Contemporary Art World. Go have fun!

Small group of 6 served fantastic food. We each had something different from the regular or special menu. Rooms was so dark we were forced to use candles & a cell phone flash light to read the menus. The restaurant is charming & clean. Service was slow. At one point we were offered dessert menus, and not asked what we'd like till after we had long finished our coffees. Eventually, when asked we were ready to go & asked for our check. That took some time too. We were there for an early dinner, so there was no excuse for the slow service. Hopefully it was just that server, maybe an off night for him. The food was truly exceptional, so would try again.

We had a delicious meal. The attention and service was great. We were not rushed or had to wait for our food. The oxtail ragu was so full flavored, from careful attention not from the over use of spices. Delicious! The restaurant has a beautiful walled garden seating area. It is private, quiet, and covered. It is an oasis in the city. Very relaxing.

It’s hard to identify this establishment from the sidewalk, even as a restaurant much less a good one. There are two gray entryways side-by-side, one opens to a small space With a glass counter, clearly an order and go place, and the other appears to be a wine shop from the door. Even after discovering the place sold food as well, I don’t recall seeing the name of the place on the exterior or even that it is a restaurant! We “discovered “the restaurant by walking into the order-and-go portion, and the gentleman manning the place told us the sit-down place was adjacent. When we walked into the restaurant part of the business, we noted a very long bar to your left, loaded with wine bottles atop, across from very large wall shelving unit displaying many wine bottles. If you keep walking, you actually get to the indoor portion of the restaurant, sparsely decorated but clean, quaint and tidy, followed then by a garden-patio portion which was really quite lovely—A secret garden so to speak. The staff was pleasant, and we were quickly shown to a garden patio seat, Covid-times coveted for its outdoor venue aspect. It was lunchtime so we kept things light. My companion had a wonderful fresh pasta/cavatelli meal while I had a simple tomato/mozzarella/basil/prosciutto sandwich on Italian bread— by simple I mean it was just the ingredients as listed, plus a drizzle of balsamic vinaigrette. Although initially underwhelmed by the appearance of my dish, the sandwich was tasty with very fresh ingredients and turned out to be more than I could eat in one sitting. My friend loved her pasta option Outdoor seating alternative is definitely a plus

A long list of Sandwiches and salads. Stand in line a inside a small space and be ready to say the name of the sandwich ( everyone says the number and the type of bread) I prefer focacia bread but there other ones such as wheat, olive, baguette . . They do run out one type depending on what time you get there. You can order online and pick it up but sometimes it takes a while for them to find your order number, most everyone stand in line. In the summer, it is nice to get a sandwich to go and eat at the highline since it is nearby.

Not only does Bottino offer Italian cuisine but the restaurant also runs like a good Italian rest - friendly bantering staff, serving efficiently. Ate a la carte with a group of 20 or so, and nobody's order was scrambled or delayed. Would gladly return.

I went to this polace with approx 30 people from NY and Atlanta. It was excelant. One of the people had called and requested a 3 course meal with some options. I had the filet mignon medium as did my close family plus the poached pear for desert. It was outstanding. the apertizer was calamarie and it was very good plus brochetta which was great. The fixed price was $55 per person and it came ti $110 WITH WINE TAX AND 20% GRATUITY. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PLACE and if you go in next 30 days please visit the gallery across street for Meghan Riephenhoff private show. Yop will not be disappointed in either of these events.

Bottino is the go-to place for artists and gallerists in Chelsea. Go on a Thursday night and you'll find many artists and dealers celebrating the openings of new shows. It's one of the few Chelsea stalwarts thanks to its consistently good food and fair prices I love their lasagna and penne with speck; have never really had a bad meal here. It's often crowded and loud, but not impossibly so. While it is not the best Italian in town, it's quite well above average, and it's a true blue artist hangout in NY

A perfect place after a Chelsea gallery tour to have lunch. The food is Italien and the service great and quick. The back of the Restaurant has daylight.

First the con. This is a kind of 1970s era Italian restaurant that could greatly benefit from a facelift and menu update. Having said that, our experience was generally good. Booking a reservation was easy, and our seating was friendly and prompt. Our young server was friendly and knowledgable. We went with two of the specials. Mine was very good, fettuccine all'aragosta, a tomato and saffron sauce with rock shrimp and lobster. The ratio of lobster to shrimp could have been better, but, in any event, very tasty. My wife had the Zuppa di Pesce, a spicy tomato broth with grouper, monkfish, mussels and clams. My wife asked if they could make it with more fish and less shell fish, which was readily agreed to--the problem is they served the reverse. Still good, but poor execution. A decent spot, but there are many better.

My cousin had his small intimate wedding here on their patio and the reception in the private room next to it. The food is to die for. We had a seven course true Italian meal. My big fat Italian family loved it. It was amazing. Nobody went hungry that is for sure. Well done bottino! Would definitely eat there again the next time we are in NYC!

Staff is uninspired and does not really know what's on the menue. Octopus salad was a good starter, homemade spinach pasta with Shiitake was weak. Tiramisu was below avegage, wine (Pinot Noir for 12 Dollar) as well. At the end they make a suggestion for the tip of 20%. I did not give that, and even the 15% were too much for that bored kind of service. Not my fault they do not pay their staff appropriately. I don't know how much Glutamate they are using in their kitchen but it led me to the rest room very fast. Never again, strictly not recommended!

Really, i had the best tomato sauce with aubergine pasta for a long time. A real treat for lunch! They also have a very nice terasse inside the restaurant, ideal to chill out.

My hubby and I were having a date night and it was my turn to find somewhere outside of our neighborhood. The reviews were good and the menu appealing so I made a reservation for two. It did not disappoint. I had the shrimps with lentil and my husband had a fennel salad and a fish dish with potatoes and leeks. All very delicious and well made. The portions are also medium size which is great because you can have starters and desserts without feeling like a glutton. We shared the pecan pie which was very pecanny but not too sweet and syrupy. The neighborhood is not terribly gentrified and that adds to the charm!

Loved their to go cafe, had great pastries and it was reasonable.

We were coming in from out of town for an artist's reception at a nearby Chelsea art gallery and needed a restaurant for dinner for family and friends. We found this place through Trip Advisor and kept our fingers crossed because we couldn't check the place out beforehand. We ended up delighted with the whole experience. I communicated with Danny via email to arrange a delicious prix fixe menu, wines, flowers, and more. All communications were prompt and polite, and so was the service during dinner. The food was delicious. We'll be going back next time we're in NYC.

Was excited to try Bottino... had a nice bottle of wine and Bolognese to start and then the Fra Diavolo Baby Chicken... it was chewy so I used my iPhone flashlight and saw it was raw... I was with a client and declined a different dish. While they didn’t try to charge me for the raw chicken, the discount at the end was not worth the embarrassment. Avoid.

Very nice diner with Italian specialties. Taste was good. Location nice, especially the garden like terrace outside. Very helpful staff. Overall excellent experience.

We ate lunch here after visiting nine galleries. We planned on an early dinner and show so we ate light. This place was beautiful with light from the garden/patio and just the right size salads and soups to hold us over for an early dinner. The service was impeccable and while the prices were high, what isn't in NYC? I will return, absolutely. Also very close to the High Line for future reference.

We had a discount coupon through BlackBoardEats for 30%. We arrived early and were given a choice of inside or out. Drinks were fine and delivered quickly. There were specials in addition to the regular menu. We each had an appetizer and a main dish. We both had pasta. Food was hot, well presented and tasty. The discount covered the tax and tip. Without the discount, it might be a tad pricey. All in all, worth the experience.

I went for lunch. Someone else suggested. Close to High Line and Galleries. Food was not especially inspired. However, the room is nice, and available for parties. It has three sectors-first a wooden bar area, then a whitish dining room with a skylight and a beautiful wooden screen, and last an outdoor patio-enclosed in Winter, no doubt open in Summer. I would return for the setting and something simple to eat. Although the dessert fruit crumble I tasted was above average.

Had a group of 25. Honestly from start to finish it was excellent. Wonderful service, reasonable wines, we had bruschetta, Fritto misto and charcuterie to share, then I had a delicious fennel and baby arugula salad, Bronzino and berries. Just a great fun place with food that's good.

Stayed there for lunch. Service was nice, but a bit slow. The food - sauteed shrimps with lentils and penne melanzane) was excellent. We sat in the atrium part of the restaurant, nice view intop the green backyard.

Had no returned to the place in over a year and it was a let down. Last time there it was pretty decent. Not sure what has changed here. Place seemed full and then it gets extremely loud and you do need to raise your voice to have a conversation with the person next to you. Rooms are small so it is somewhat expected. Our waitor was good and attentive, we ordered some starters which arrived within 5-10 minutes so no issues there. Then are main dishes arrived in a timely manner. Only issue was it was so bland and really had no taste at all. My dish the manilla mussels in spaghetti with hot pepper was the the main culprit. You expect a dish like this to have some flavor, some wow, something but it was a big goose egg. The other dishes served were just mediocre and no dish amongst the 6 of us really stood out. Dessert, I ordered the infamous bread pudding. It came mixed in with chocolate and I prefer to know this in advance so maybe note this on the menu. All in all it was a let down compared to the last visit. It was a shame as I was really looking forward to returning for another great meal. It was just not meant to be.....

Bottino has become one of our favorite “go to” spots in Chelsea. We moved into the neighborhood a few months ago, and the food is excellent and the team working at Bottino is great. The crispy branzino is consistently excellent as is the squid ink paccheri with New Zealand cockles, nduja, baby kale, and garlic breadcrumbs. The outdoor space is excellent. Service is exemplary. The food is consistently great. Don’t miss it.

Really enjoyed recent dinner here. Setting is so nice. We didn't sit outside but had a view to the outside which was very lovely. The mushroom salad appetizer was outstanding.

Ate here with my wife and we both thoroughly enjoyed the evening. Good service and great food. Take a walk on the high line before eating it's makes for a wonderful eveing

3 of us had dinner here on a Friday evening. All of us were delighted with a) the food was EXCELLENT - 2 of us had the tagliatelle with seafood special; the other one had the Orecchiette with Broccoli Rabe and Boar Sausage, Shredded Tuscan Pecorino b) the surroundings - very nice with an open garden c) the service (although the restaurant was very busy on a Friday night) was exactly as it should be: Very attentive but not overbearing - kindly inquiring if anything else was needed and if our food was to our expectations. HIGHLY recommend!!

It is a small but cozy place to sit down for cozy meals. The back offer private event space (quite large in the back). Food selections are very basic such as pasta, but they are not that bad (but I had better meals in other places). I recommend this place since they are close to the Highline and galleries. Not a bad choice in that area where there are not so many decent less expensive restaurants.

This is one of my favorite New York restaurants. It's located in the heart of the Chelsea art district and offers an excellent variety of meat and seafood dishes at very reasonable prices considering the location and decor. Their garden is especially charming. Excellent for steaks, fish, lobster, scallops, appetizers, salads and desserts. Great laid back, friendly service. On weeknights it's usually easy to get a table on short notice. They also have a great sandwich service at lunchtime.

The restaurant has a VERY GOOD burrata that you should try. Aside from that, I've found that it was a little bit pricy for the quality of the food, but still very nice. It is really nice inside, though, like nearly every restaurant in NY, you eat VERY close to other people if you are a couple or small group. All in all, I liked it, but was not captivated.

The interior of this restaurant is attractive, but: 1) the food is mediocre at best 2) it is ridiculously overpriced for its quality 3) there is a miserliness in the place, which charges a fee for using a credit card! 4) they are so stingy that they charge for a small bread basket 5) the pasta was fresh but very ordinary This place does not deserve the good reviews it gets

First let me forewarn, I am a gluten free vegan so my review may not apply to you, and your experience may be completely different. Friends daughter baby shower, parking...no need to comment but there is a garage directly across street! Ambience, rooms bright from floor to ceiling sliders opening to patio type space, when we sat to eat slider was closed and opened for another party on the other side to use. Then we were rather cramped at our long tables but manageable. Staff seemed excellent, organizer, waitstaff on point. Now the food, there were Horsd'oeuvres and cocktails which were proclaimed very good by guests, onion tarts especially popular, I could not have so we will rely on that. There were fresh fruit skewers for the veg crowd and that was fine! Sit down dinner I had the asparagus in vinaigrette, 4 huge asparagus stalks tiny bit of chopped tomato and basil, very tender not much flavor though, I was desperate for more vinaigrette and Tom/basil just for that. Entrees, I asked the waiter if I could have the avocado, tomato salad listed with one of the entrees hold the chicken and maybe add the roasted potato and haricots vert from another entree? No problem he said. What myself and another veg diner received was a plate of green. 4 much smaller asparagus, one brown and mushy in middle no seasoning at all, some small over cooked green beans ...looked canned but since no flavor at all not even salt I imagine not. And the third item, i really don't know what to call it? I think it was broccoli chopped so small quick sautéed with chopped onion(no caramelization that would have helped immensely) and drowned in salt , just salt. This is the one worst plate of food I've ever been served since going vegan. It was ugly to look at, you felt like a homeless animal hanging in the alley waiting for scraps to be discarded. I rarely leave such a vitriolic review, but this was the truth of the matter. They completely disregarded what I asked for...which was available because I saw the items on other plates( potatoes, haricots etc) and threw together this ugly, oversalted in one aspect and tasteless otherwise, with a rotting asparagus thrown in just to make me feel especially great! This was my friends daughters big day, i was never going to say a thing, make a complaint. I saw the other veg pushing the food around her plate too, I'm sure she was as amazed as I! My favorite thing about the meal was the mango sorbet I received for dessert, very good. By the time I got back to my own car I was ravenous, thankfully I've learned that you have to carry food for occasions just like this. You would think the kitchen would make more of an effort, very simple to slice some tomatoes and basil or offer us what other diners had for sides but I guess we were more of a nuisance than anything to them. In Manhattan I expect far better than this. On another note, the salmon entree was a big hit, the chicken seemed to get mixed reviews, rigatoni dish seemed to be fine too(but everyone may have been on their best behavior like myself!) the cake was declared amazing! That came from Martha's bakery in Astoria...rave reviews. Oh let me add the bathroom adjoining our room was filthy and we had to ask to have it cleaned, no exaggeration! After this you'd expect me to give 1-2 stars, but food gets a 1 and waitstaff 5, space a 3 so math tells me that's a 3! So maybe good for those that eat a modern traditional diet, but vegan, vegetarian not so much. Mom to be was happy and that's what was important that day!

Excellent! Great atmosphere, above average service across the board! Delicious appetizers and pastas • I wanted mote but my companion wasn’t interested. I need yo ho ahain w a eeal foodie !

Yossi Milo Gallery is directly across the street, as are others, making this a convienant location after hitting an opening. Having dined with a large group I think they did a very nice job of feeding all at once. The salad and appetizers were spot on, as was the dessert, but the fish entree needed to be sent back since it was overdone - but they made it right very quickly. The fennel and orange salad was delishiosu and light. The pouched pear dessert was refreshing too.

Bottino is located on 10th Avenue near 24th St. Our service from Laura was excellent. The food just fantastic and cooked exactly as ordered. Fresh, flavorful and careful with the salt. I didn't want the dinner to end. The back room is really special. They also have outdoor dining, but it was raining so we couldn't eat outside. I can't say enough about this restaurant. It's superb and everyone at our table for four was thrilled with the food.

Bottino is exceptional. Danny and his staff gave us a lovely afternoon showering my sister. It was everything I imagined. Working with them to plan the day was the most seamless and easy process I've ever gone through working with a restaurant. They were so accommodating and flexible and that is so rare to find in Manhattan. The owner's graciousness permeates down to his team. Everyone was beyond helpful, responded quickly, and was just pleasant to be around. They went above and beyond. Not to mention, the space and food was outstanding.

The ambiance was dark and the chairs uncomfortable. The service slow. We tried from the appetizers: the Bruschetta, the fritto misto and the caprese salad, I really enjoyed them. I have a high expectations for the pasta. The Spaghetti a la vongole was sad and too spicy. Just disappointing.

On Saturday I attended a bridal shower in the back room. We had a limited menu, which included perfect choices. Our waiter (British accent) was superb, the courses all came out on schedule and the food was delicious.

Friends who live locally brought us here for a welcome dinner on our first night in NY. The menu is interesting and the flavours were well developed. Nice wine list. The room is simple, and there are a couple of spaces where you can have private events. Recommended.

My title says it all, if you want to spend a fortune on pasta, this is your place. Food is decent but you'd be better off boiling some water cooking your own pasta with Newman's sauce.

Would've been a 4 star review, if not for the lackluster service. Our servers were inattentive. Orrechiette (ear shaped pasta) was delicious, soup of the day (chickpea and lentil) was not particularly flavourful.

Very nice ambiance with a bar area in the front and two large rooms in the back, clean design and warm atmosphere and they have a lovely garden area in the back which is housed in in winter and is ideal if you want to have a conversation without screaming at each other. They serve authentic Italian food and the quality and taste is excellent. We had burrata and speck for starters and the beetroot salad both of which were delicious. We also really liked the branzino, orecchiette and hake although the hake was a little dry but the sides were excellent. The service was great - they gave us lots of time to make our choices and we didn't feel rushed. The only thing that could be improved was the espresso. Would definitely come back.

Haven't been here for years and not much has changed. Nice bar area and pleasant outdoor seating. Food isn't anything special but it's a good spot to enjoy a relaxed atmosphere with friends.

This place has an awesome back area, perfect for an outdoor meal. They also have a cute private portion tucked away that would be great for an event or birthday dinner. The service was very friendly. We all liked our food - cacio e pepe, fried artichokes were highlights. I’d go back to this cute spot in Chelsea.

I usually skip writing a review if it is negative, but I’m making an exception. We’ve been to Bottino several times and have had positive experiences. This most recent visit has probably made a return unlikely. Bottino seems to care really only about their bottom line and not the experience of their diners. The hostess, Anna, is great but when one of our party was a little late, the male host curtly told her to “go find them” yourself. The staff were otherwise pleasant but the focus is not on ensuring a great dining experience. The artichoke and arancini appetizers were great. The orecchiette was maybe the worst I’ve ever had. The bavette cacio e pepe is excellent. When we asked for the dessert menu, the waitress seemed put out and didn’t offer any after dinner drinks or coffee. If you want to get in and out fast with a decent meal, Bottino will suffice. If you want a superior or even just an above average dining experience, New York has myriad options.

We were a party of 5, and we just walked in on a Friday night, rather early, about 6PM, and had a round of drinks in the bar and then a lovely dinner in the dining room. The outdoor seating area looked lovely, totally walled in and away from the street and we considered eating outside, but it was a very warm night so we stayed indoors. We had appetizers that were fine, and our dinners were all yummy, too (Sea Bass, Spaghetti Neri, and Salmon). We finished with a couple of desserts ( the chocolate tiramisu was voted the best!) and coffees, and felt that we had a very good dinner at a reasonable price.

My big mistake was to inform the restaurant that my booking was a birthday meal for one. This I discovered when the waiter looked at me and smirked while bringing my complimentary glass of fizzy wine. After this I experienced a range of barely concealed mirth to outright staring along with some accompanied discussion from the numerous members of the restaurants waiting team. All this while enjoying my rather nice Tuscan Fish Stew, which was unfortunately spoiled somewhat by the ambience of the place. When I had finished eating I couldn’t bring myself to finish the bottle of warm still spring water that I had been served, which cost half the price of my meal. Paid my bill and walked out of the premises to a welcome breath of fresh New York air. I guess the point which I am making is that a good restaurant experience is not all about the quality of the food and if the business is unable to treat its customers with even a basic amount of respect or provide a pleasant place to dine, then this says a lot about that particular establishment. Rather similar to the common advice I have heard many times regarding looking at the cleanliness of the toilets to determine the state of kitchen.

I often stop here for a salad or sandwich. Good selection and reasonable prices. Service is impersonal and a bit rushed, but not unfriendly. Call ahead and you may save a few minuets waiting.

Went to Bottino as our first restaurant outing since Covid, and could not have been more impressed. They have a fabulous Garden for dining outside but the inside dining is also spacious and inviting. Service was marvellous and the food is amazing. Get here before the folks from Michelin visit....

The food was good but salads were underwhelming. There were two private parties in two separate rooms and the place is big enough for all and the garden is very pleasant. We had a great time. I recommend the salmon and shrimp. I also don't not like the peach Bellini.

I have never been to the eatery next door but if the sandwich and salad deli are an example of their cuisine then I am sure it is magnificent. Chicken, salad, avocado, on multigrain bread. Enough for two mmmm

Too dark for me to read the menu without a torch and there was a large group next to us, but noise was ok. Food was very good and the bottled beer was fine. Service was also very good

We just ducked in here today for an early dinner after doing some gallery biz with my artist friend. The pastas were well- executed -- my rigatoni with tomato sauce and eggplant had a good meaty flavor. We chose to eat at the table in the window rather than the dining room in back. The waitstaff was excellent, which is to say helpful but unobtrusive. Wine and mixed drinks were good. If you're in the area, this is a good choice.

I was living for a short time in Chelsea, NYC, and tried this joint. I have been back several times, and will return again. Most excellent Italian food. However, I cannot go there without ordering their filet steak, mash and greens. It is outstanding! Wash it down with a nice wine, of which they have an excellent selection. Oh, and instead of having dessert (which looks varied and tasty), try one of their most delicious Expresso Martinis (the secret is they put Baileys Irish cream in it). And, one more thing, I usually get an Australia server called 'Dave', who is prompt, friendly and has an excellent sense of humor. Just saying! You gotta' go there, whether you live in Chelsea or not!

We stopped in for a quick dinner before an art show near by last evening, thinking the prices looked reasonable and the selection was good too. What a surprise this turned out to be. The staff was AMAZING, inclusing the hostess, so very kind and polite, that was a great start. My partner and I shared the Bruschetta and Frisee salad to begin. Amazing generous portions, and the Frisee had a hint of anchoy that made it PERFECT! We shared the Orichetta with Broccoli Rabe and this amazing sausage. Okay, this was a little spicy but not super spicy. This was prepared PERFECT. What a great meal. We had all this and 4 glasses of wine for less than 85.00 which I think is very reasonable. When Looking at the menu, the prices for the beef, lamb and salmon looked great too, so I think we will be back to give those menu items a try. This is really a nice place, great atmosphere, clean, and the bathrooms are super clean, with fresh cut roses!!! Don't pass this up if you have a chance to dine here, you'll be glad you did!

Really tasty food, lovely relaxed atmosphere and friendly staff. Has a nice little outdoor area round the back. Reasonably priced too.

I was here in a group, with a set, prepaid menu of 3 courses with several amuses bouches, plus coffee. Portions were substantial, all orders came out properly, and service was attentive. All for $75/head. Hey, this is no destination restaurant, but if you seek decent food, well prepared with robust portions at a decent price, Bottino is a good choice.

Delightful crowd. Easy service and wonderful food. Didn't need a reservation and enjoyed watching the dinner crowd arrive. Will return especially when visiting the art market.

Took out of town friends here last night. Needed a place in Chelsea and I had been here a few times before and always loved it. Even have thrown a private party here a few years back. However things have give downhill since it looks like. Servers were terrible! When we asked for small plates to have with our bread and apps the waitress said "we don't have. Just feel free to make crumbs and we'll just change the table cloth if needed. And it was downhill from there. Constant attitude for some reason since we orders our drinks. They made it feel like they were doing me a favor to fine there. I didn't make an issue if it because I was entertaining guests. But will NEVER dine or recommend this once Chelsea gem to anyone. Food was ok too. But it's never been that great. But now there's absolutely no reason to go back.

I recently held a luncheon for 85 people at Bottino. The staff were incredibly helpful in planning our event, knowledgeable and friendly. We had to be in and out on a specific schedule, and the Bottino staff were able to keep us on track. Most importantly, the food was terrific. They knew exactly what would work on our timetable, so nothing was delivered cold, and were able to assist with the dietary restrictions of some of our guests. I highly recommend Bottino for events, you will be in safe hands with Danny and Teddy.

Everyone was so pleased with the food, the service, and the event planner. The restaurant was closed to the public between 2 and 6 for the wedding. There were about 40 people present, including a dozen kids between 2 and 13. A very nice experience.

We've dined at Bottino twice and were happy both times. Well-prepared fish and steak and perfectly-cooked pasta. Servers are friendly and attentive.

Mediocre food, overcrowded ambience, rude and insulting wait staff. We were mortified that our non-American guests were treated quite shabbily and chastised by a nasty waiter when they asked what dessert they were served...they were served the wrong orders and the rude waiter mocked them for noticing his error. We will never return and you should not bother...better food and service can probably be found at a local fast food joint.

The "garden" is still enclosed in April. Today's weather could have handled being open air at lunch but most days and every evening would be too cold to be outside. As it was it was far more pleasant being glassed in than anywhere inside might have been, and lunch was good. Attentive service, Italian style bread with plenty of butter, good fare, and wine at reasonable prices. Very nice indeed. The rigatoni con melanzane was bland at first until I added several spoonfuls of the shredded parmigiana that had been provided, and thereafter it was just fine. Great to be able to have a coffee after a meal and not feel like you are paying for brandy. A $3 Americano is a Seattle price. Nice.

Chelsy style restaurant and foods, went to lunch with locals near the area, very friendly, good food, good portions, and helpful staff, love the dinning room and their is a patio to enjoy a meal or drinks. Quality food presented and very tasty!

Very tasty food, superb service, reasonable prices. Convivial atmosphere. We had a party of 8 and we had a nice circular table that was perfect for active dinner conversation. Wait staff were pleasant, prompt, very patient and helpful with our group of 8. Busy spot, but noise levels were only moderate. Certainly would return and recommend.

Like other reviewers we stopped here by chance mid-day after an afternoon of gallery hopping and sight seeing. We were delighted to find a warm and friendly atmosphere, good drinks and a round of truly first rate appetizers and snacks.

Had dinner with a few coworkers that flew in from out of town on Thursday Night. Definitely enjoyed the experience. The restaurant is cozy, but has an energy about it. Very attentive and friendly service. As for the menu, the group felt that the the fritto misto and the fettucini with lobster were the highlights. What was also noteworthy was their prices. When you think of dinner and drinks in NY, you expect to pay a fortune. We were pleasantly surprised that the dishes were flavorful and reasonably priced.

Excellent menu and bar, service is kid friendly and setting is lovely. What else do you want in NYC?

The food is very good if unimaginative, (the usual grilled salmon, with spinach). However, it's great fun to be there and see the art stars. Large parties can be accommodated. Fair prices. Fun.

I attended a private party for about 30 people here, which was very nice. The food and service were very good as was the atmosphere.

Was really excited to eat here but food was just ok, portions were minuscule and the food came so quickly that I wonder if it was microwaved. Overpriced. I won't be going back.

I kind of forgot about this place and recently been back 2x. Both times the service was good and food tasted great.

Loved this restaurant! sat in the walled garden for dinner, food was delicious and service 1st class, it had a really nice vibe about the place, buzzy and busy but not so noisy that you couldn't speak to each other. it was my husbands's birthday and they brought his dessert out with a candle in and we all sang happy birthday - fabulous!

we celebrated a birthday and were situated in a room off to the side of the restaurant which opened to an outdoor patio. The setting was very attractive. Service and food were very good.

Great food, wonderful staff and they make the reopening work well. Great patio and frankly they went out of their way to make my party feel welcome and safe, Great room, super food and a wonderful time!

I used to live a few blocks away and have been many times over the years. However, when I moved away, I stopped coming. I went again a few nights ago as a party had been arranged there which I attended. I didn't understand in the past why the place wasn't more trumpeted, and I still don't. The food is excellent, and the place is lovely.

We had an excellent walking tour with City Rover and finished it off with an excellent meal at Bottino's. The service was great, the pricing very reasonable. There was indoor/patio seating. There was choices of steak, seafood, and pasta. It was a little bit crowded but all in all lovely!

we were just there this past Monday and the front of the house was packed at the bar and at the tables (Naughty but Nice's Rob Shuter was there), and we had a wonderful evening. the service was great, the food was delicious and they couldn't do anything better, everything was great.

Perfect place to host a shower or luncheon. I hosted my sister's bridal shower here and Danny was amazing and so responsive throughout the whole process. The staff was attentive and so helpful. Special thank you to our server Ryan for being a rockstar and bringing great vibes. Also the food was awesome and a great menu to choose from. Highly recommend!!

Wonderful restaurant with options for indoor or outdoor seating in the beautiful, covered courtyard. We are frequent visitors to Italy and frankly now are often disappointed since the Pasta and flavors of the dishes in Bottino are superior. The Ragu is sensational, the originality of some of the more creative dishes are so perfectly crafted it's hard to understand how this place is not on the Michelin guide.

food was very good. Great ambiance. the service was excellent!! Great neighborhood and has garden seating ares.

Great background music, nice beer list, cool dude behind bar, good time. Just happened to get down from the hi line to have a drink, and there it was :-)

Food excellent. Sat outside at the back in lovely garden with fairy lights. We're from the UK and didn't add a tip to the credit card slip as we were leaving the tip separately in cash on the table. The waiter came took the credit card slip away and then came back and actually asked "why haven't you left a tip?". We explained we were leaving it separately but he was not at all apologetic so we ended up leaving half the tip that we were going to leave. I know the tip rules are different in the US but even so, the waiter was very rude and could have asked if there was a problem with the service rather than why we had not (apparently) left a tip.

I was there for lunch with a friend. The restaurant is nicely located in near the Chelsea gallery district and not far frompublic transportation. The food was good, the service was efficient and friendly, and the prices were reasonable. It was not unduly noisy. I would certainly recommend this place for a meal when in the Chelsea area.

After researching the High Line area for decent restaurants, we settled on Bottino, given how nice it looks. Once inside, get ready to yell to others in your party as the little place is quite noisy - and we were here on a Wednesday night! The menu is simple - a nice appetizer selection, sadly no soups and 7 entrees comprising of lamb, veal, beef and a variety of fish and seafood. The waitress must've been rushing around as she immediately spilled my water as she was pouring it. She did apologize although my dress was wet. My granacha wine was average - definitely overpriced, as were most of the other wines on the menu. The bread and butter were very good but we were not given bread plates, resulting in crumbs all over our table. We had tuna tartare, which was ok; sirloin steak served with what tasted like boxed potatoes (at $28 this was a surprise); lamb with only potatoes (no vegetables) and tuna served over a bed of lettuce. I would not return here - the service wasn't good and the place was too noisy for my taste. Lots of patrons of this restaurant came with friends but sat at their tables chatting away loudly and using their cell phones, which I found quite rude. Food was only average in my opinion.

Recommended to us but out of the main buzz of the city and not sure what to expect. From the second of arriving, it was a cut above. Friendly, can-do attitude, full of charisma and the good was outstanding! Strongly recommended!!

My Husband took me to Bottino for their prix fix $65 4 course Velentine's dinner which included a cocktail. We arrived at 6:55pm for a 7:00pm reservation and would you believe we were walking out the door at 7:45pm. The restaurant was probably 25% full, we were seated right away and before we even sat down the first course was on the talbe. We weren't even given our menus, bread or water and the first course was put down. This was definately a sign of what was to come. Our orders were taken quickly. plates served quickly and removed quickly. There was never any time to savor this delicious food. Everything was delicious but we were still enjoying our first cocktail during dessert. Good thing we didn't order a bottle of wine. What was the rush guys. Your staff needs more training and at $65 a person. we should have been allowed more time to enjoy our meal. The service was that of a high class Macdonalds. This staff needs more training in what classy service truely is. It's a shame that your wonderful food was served in this manner. FYI a 20% tip was added to the bill for 2 people. I've seen this on larger tables before but a table of 2 and $20%. No wonder the staff didn't care about giving it dinner guests a worthwhile experience. I'd love to go again for the food but will definatelt think twice because of the service.

My husband and I went to Bottino for an early birthday dinner. I had been there recently with a friend for lunch, and I knew he would like. We sat in the lovely garden near a woman who was having her wedding reception there. Would def be a lovely setting for such an occasion. We shared two starters (a delicious peach salad and fried artichoke leaves). The salad was excellent, but the artichokes dish was among the best thing I have eaten in some time. For our entrees, we had the branzino and the squid ink pasta. Both were very good, if not up to the level of the artichokes. The waiter was pleasant and attentive, but we did feel a bit rushed during dinner. I am always reminded of the difference between eating in Europe and eating in NYC where in the former, you are never rushed, and in NYC, the waiters sometimes seem they are on a treadmill.

We had reservations for 6 people, who arrived at different times and were all greeted warmly. Excellent service throughout the evening. Waitress recommendations were super. Great meal from breads and appetizers through dessert. Will definitely return.

I’m live a couple of blocks from this restaurant, and always want it to be good - but it isn’t. Beautiful space, but the service is uneven, and the food is horrible. The Bottino To Go, next door is a take out sandwich and salad place, and quite good. So, the is review isn’t about the take out spot of the same name. I could write more, but the food quality is so bad that no one should come here

I’ve been buying lunch here since 2003. Decent sandwiches and salads. Great selection. Excellent breads. Usually a soup option. Always a long line at lunch time. Try and order online in advance for quicker pickup. Not the friendliest service, but good food.

Nice decor, ambiance and just all around a place to go back too! Waiter was friendly and didn't rush us, we were long distance friends dining there who haven't seen each other in 10 months! I will say if you don't like al dente pasta, make sure you tell them. I liked it! Salad, main pasta dish to dessert! I will go back with my husband!!!

Pros: Very good Italian food in a hip section of town. Comfortable combination of indoor and outdoor seating. Cons: Service a little pushy. Had computer malfunction so getting bill was a hassle. Location a tradeoff-close to highline but far from the subway.

Great Chelsea restaurant! Super servers and a nice menu. We had pasta dishes which were very good. Great bread pudding for dessert. Easy access via subway. Good value, too.

Stumbled upon Bottino with a friend after going to the David Zwirner gallery and decided to stop in for lunch. Atmosphere was great nice and airy & seemed like great lunch spot with a decent menu. I got the salmon with salad on the side - the dish came out in a matter of five minutes after I sat down - almost like it was premade. Salmon had no flavor at all and salad had no dressing at all and cheese that looked like it came from a shredded Kraft bag. Had to drown it in balsamic just to take a bite. Would not recommend to anyone.

This place is a disgrace for an Italian restaurant. I took my mother here on her visit, and was utterly dissapointed. The butter served with bread wasn't real butter. The wine tasted cheap and bad and it sure wasn't the cheapest one. The foods came way too quickly which already tells you all you need to know. The vongole pasta was disgusting. The clams tasted stale, and the plate was full of watery tomato sauce. No taste what so ever. The lasagne was COLD. I know it's a frozen dish most times, but geez... And there wasn't even remarkable service to save the night. The only thing this place was good for was the pretty interior.

We walked over on the highline, admiring the new, some avant garde, apartment buildings that cost small fortunes ( well, maybe large fortunes) to buy into. There was an exit convenient to the restaurant. Nicely lit tablecloth laden back room, people close together. We had an absolutely delicious shrimp and lentil dish that was filling, yummy and healthy. What a score! A serious, well done restaurant with that New York sheen and professional waiters. I would definitely go over to that side of town for this restaurant.

Bottino is a beautiful and affordable location for a wedding in Manhattan. The outdoor patio was a huge selling point of this venue. Danny and Sydney were so helpful with our planning. Sydney answered all of our questions, and she acted as a coordinator the day of our wedding. She also helped plan the layout of our tables and decorations and worked with us for the drop off and setup of our decorations. Bottino makes it easy to set up your event menu, as you just choose a few items from the menu they are offering that season. I could not have planned our wedding without all of her helpful responses to our questions. In addition to the helpful staff and the beautiful patio, Bottino has amazing food. You can visit their website to read more about their food and partnerships with Michelin star chefs. Our wedding guests were raving about the atmosphere and the food for weeks. We are so happy that we chose to use Bottino as our wedding venue. We bought out the entire venue for a lunchtime wedding.

We ate ourselves into Chelsea NYC. Hip chic minimalist décor, outdoor garden seating with candles aglow and tons of happy eating people just like us. We were there for good wine, a great chew (the foodie kind) and some sort of after dinner delicacy. After the chew - I simply knew: THE PROOF IS IN OUR PUDDING! Five of us dipped and dodged spoons into this beautiful dish of creamy chocolate goodness and white whip fit for GODS. We are DEMIGODS and we eat pudding. At least last night we lived happily ever pudding after. EAT THE PUDDING.

Went here before with a group, but this time the experience was very disappointing. Not he service was friendly bit not expectional, had the fritto misto (excellent) and the kale salad...(strangely cafeteria like boring) then the swordfish ( great) and the shrimp and lentils ('weird...tasted like ez peel and frozen with earthy Italian lentils,). Desserts included chocolate pudding which was just okay and an apple tart which was good. We saw a card to donate to breast cancer and then the tip was based on this I would be more impressed if this was called out. Look, it disappointed this time.

Went there Saturday night for a wedding reception. The appetizers were very good and plentiful. Their interpretation of Tuscan Italian food was very good, and the servers were exceptional.

Upon arrival we were greeted by a friendly hostess who took us directly to the table. It was a hot and humid August night and they had the door open to the patio so the interior was very hot and I mentioned to the hostess how hot it was and she said when the table over there gets up we will close the doors. By the way, they never closed the doors so for the whole time we were sweating bullets. With that said, the service was fine, food was excellent.

Stopped in for appetizers and wine before a show. Service was prompt and friendly. Delicious tuna tartare , caprese salad and shrimp with lentils plus a variety of other choices make this a good choice for sharing. Dinners looked interesting too.

We were here around midday, and it was busy, which was probably a good sign right from the start. You can get take away food, but we sat down to eat, and ended up staying longer than we'd planned because the food was so good. I think you'd be safe with pretty much anything you ordered, but the boar sausage and the salmon were great, and the spaghetti with clams looked amazing. Service was so-so - not very fast, but not bad considering they were busy. Overall we were happy.

Bottino is one of a lamentable group of restaurants that was hot for a few moments and sadly won't die or fade away. The food is tasteless, floors are rutted and splintered from neglect and the waitstaff is inept. We drown the bland food in three bottles of Champagne, and tried in vain to catch up with 2 old friends. Plates, for every course, were snatched from under our forks and new, inedible dishes, arrived with diner-like dispatch, and before we knew it we were presented with our bill, for more than $700, less than half of which was our wine, and were asked, in the same breath, by the manager, to give up our tiny table, for 4, for no apparent reason and found ourselves on the street, angry at our own stupidity. Go Anywhere Else!!

Selected Bottino based on friend's recommendation & was not disappointed! Booked a table for 12 a month or so in advance, final dinner for a girls weekend. Thanks to hurricanes & other obstacles beyond our control we watched our party of 12 dwindle to 9 the day of our Saturday night reservation; then traffic & a broken down cab resulted in our party not fully assembling until almost an hour after our reservation time. I mention all this as I read other reviews about the inflexibility of the restaurant & dissatisfaction with the wait staff; we experienced the complete opposite! Important stuff: the Wine & Food! The wines recommended were enjoyed by all; everyone was nibbling off of each others plates & gushing about the delicious food! I had the beet salad, filet mignon (a cut I tend to avoid but trusted our waiter Jack as he had not steered us wrong to that point, like buttah! YUM) & the cheese plate were divine! Others enjoyed the Frisee Salad, Kale salads and the fresh Mozzarella for starters. As delicious as my steak was the Orecchiette with wild boar sausage was the hit of the table! To our waiter Jack: You're the best & you made our evening!

i was so looking forward to going to bottino.....cool vibe when you go in and at least in our case service was good....that s where it ends beet salad shared with a friend ....barely any dressing on it...i do not believe in over saturating a salad but in this case you needed a compass to find the dressing....my friend had the ravioli.....and even though she is not a foodie like i am .....commented on how average the ravioli were.....my dish was the spaghettini alle vongole.....broth good...small clams even better but the pasta tasted as if it had been cooked three days ago......even told the waitress how over cooked it was...i do not mind paying top dollar....when the food is good..... but do not give me pretentiousness and a bad meal. if you really want to go there go for just a drink......but as for food.....i think i saw a subway sandwich shop just a few stores up.

The dull overcooked pasta was soaking in what appeared to be Campbell's tomato soup, the so called "Proscuitto di Parma" was some sort of chemically cured meat. The tuna tartar was quite good, but the watercress that came with it was too old. On the way out we noticed that all cooks were oriental, nobody Italian to cook Italian food.

Great spot for lunch. They also do take-out, which has been a life saver!

The food was ok but the party was fun. Thought it would be an outstanding dinner as the bruschetta with great tomatoes, perfect frito misto, antipasto misto with nice selection of meat and cheese were passed to enjoy with a great salad. It was the overcooked and dry fish that was the downfall. Desserts were good. Service was great and attentive despite the size of our party and the many other large groups dining that night. All that, the evening was enjoyable and good spot for a large group.

I used to be a regular at Bottino years ago and then stopped going after a few misses here and there. Yesterday I decided to book a table for dinner after all these years and I must say it is better than ever. The dining room and terrace are more beautiful than I remember. The attentive staff went out of their way to make us feel good. The food was amazing from the delicious appetizers like the fried baby artichokes (we had to order a second order they were that good!) to the steak tartare. The main courses were also outstanding. The cacio pepe, branzino and lamb chops were big hits. The mixed berries tart was a perfect finish to a great meal. We will definitely be back soon.

We attend a gallant reception for Meghann Riepenhoff at gallery across street and the went to restaurant with 30 plus friends for dinner. Her Dad had arranged a fixed price dinner of $55 per person and with tax and wine and tip it came to 110 per person. The food was excellent. The calamari appetizer was outstanding as were the filet mignonette plus poached pears desert. I highly recommend this place

Ate here for a birthday party. The outside area and adjoining inside area are beautiful. The service was wonderful. The food was yummy and they did a good job getting all of us fed at the same time.

An amazing evening. We have friends who know the Chef, and let him know we were visiting NY. We got the friendliest of welcomes from the team anyway, but the extra special ‘friends of friends’ welcome was a wonderful touch. The venue is chic, classy and contemporary. The service ‘top notch’ and the menu both interesting and exciting. We shared arancini and home made ricotta to start, and then had tagliatelle bolognese and Colorado lamb short rib. We finished by sharing the cheesecake. The accompanying glasses of fizz and wines were all superb as well. All in all, an amazing venue, great food and a memorable night in NY for my wife and I. Thank you 😁

Order online or call for takeout, don't wait on the interminable lines of google types. Delicious fresh salads, good choices, good prices, really practically perfect. All the food looks great, I just like several salads. I don't like their coffee.

Great night with friends for a birthday dinner. Good Italian based appetizers. Fresh bread 🍞 on the table was hot and fresh. Entrees like the “Shrimp 🍤 on Italian Lentils” was delish... Salmon and Lasagna dishes were both very good solid choices. We spend well over three hours at the restaurant, the staff was friendly and were good photographers as well for our b-day celebration.

Visited Bottino on a recent Saturday evening during a girlfriends weekend in NYC and was very pleased with our dining experience. The bar was hopping, grabbed a window seat for drinks waiting for our table. The reservation held true to it's time and we were seated in the enclosed patio area which turned out to be quieter than the main restaurant. A great environment to enjoy our salads, main courses, and shared desserts. Service was relaxed and fun. One oops was an eager server mistakenly filled a white wine glass with water....and the wine was replaced readily...no problem! Overall a terrific dining experience...highly recommended.

Bottino is light and airy, not too noisy. Quick service. Very good food—the seafood was excellent- the salmon and the tuna. Walkable to the Shed.

I found this while searching for random places to take my family to eat. They like to stick to what they know every time they come to NYC so I try not to get to exotic when taking them to random places. That being said, I thought the food here was fantastic and so did everyone else. The prices were very reasonable as well. The garden in the back looks quite nice as well and I look forward to coming back. Sure my family would like to come back when they are in town again as well!

We were invited here by two friends of my wife. It was our first visit. The experience from drinks at the bar to liqueurs at the end of the evening was top-class. Each of us chose different appetisers and different mains, and the approval was definitely 100%. My vegetarian choices were both very appealing, as were the steak and fish alternatives selected by my fellow-diners. The wine list was well chosen and offered a mix of European, American and other world options at a wide range of prices. Service was expertly "orchestrated".

Went there for a team dinner, the menu was limited, so not the place you could keep going back too, but what they did, and we ate was very good.

My now son-in-law's parents chose Bottino as the venue for the wedding rehearsal dinner for my daughter and her fiance's upcoming nuptuals. I had never been there before, and overall I found the experience very enjoyable. For cocktails and hors d'oeuvres, we went out into their garden, which honestly was small and somewhat grubby. Frankly, I was happy when we were ushered into the private room that was reserved for our dinner - ah, air conditioning and a comfortable seat! Dinner was very good. The highlight for me was the filet mignon, the best piece of beef I have eaten in a very long time! Tasted fresh, full of flavor, tender, just great.

We dropped in at Bottino's by chance. It was raining, it was lunch and our umbrellas were leaking. The front doesn't promise too much, but that's the charm of Chelsea, but inside we were well greeted and offered a nice little table in the glassed extension in the rear. This however proved itself to be a lesser good choice as we felt that the staff doesn't seem to have the same attention out there. Reason? Well it seemed that the others seated under the panes were there on purpose. They desired peace and some seclusion for their meetings and lunch rendezvous. We had the Orecchiette with Broccoli Rabe and Boar Sausage and the Spaghettini with Manila Clams White Wine, Garlic, Hot Pepper, Tomato and both were great! Great! And we will definitely come back here for more, careful to select a slightly better seating the next time.

Together with my NY Native friend, we ate the brine turkey special. Believe me, I brought my appetite, but left slightly disappointed that the cook skimped out on the serving size. Still, Bobo offers many delightful positive attributes such as the spacious seating arrangements. There are two bars in the three-tiered building. And the customers around me looked very relaxed.

Our daughter was running in the NYC Half Marathon so we decided to stay overnight in the City and picked Bottino's purely on a whim. A party of four, we were quickly seated in charming sheltered and nicely heated sunroom (on a rainy March Saturday night) and we had a lovely meal. Several of us had the Fettucine with Lobster and it was truly delicious. I've traveled all over the USA and eaten in hundreds of Italian restaurants. This was easily in the top 5% of the places I've eaten, and the reasonable price and attentive service only added to the experience.

Lovely restaurant with comfortable atmosphere. They catered to our large group and were very efficient when delivering our food on time. Great selection of authentic dishes with their own touch. We found everything delicious and enjoyable.

Had early dinner on a Monday evening. The place was very active for a Monday. Restaurant has a nice garden, which is very cosy. Service was friendly!

We were staying on West 22nd at a B & B between. 9th and 10th and asked our host for a recommendation. Bottino was enthusiastically recommended. We had a lovely experience. We shared the caprese salad appetizer. For entrees we had lasagna and Bronzino with the bread pudding dessert. Everything was quite tasty. The glass of Chardonnay was nothing special. However, the coffee was excellent. Overall very nice for the price. Excellent service and nice romantic setting.

Has a great selection of sandwiches, breads and salads. Gets very crowded at lunch, so off hour visits are best. High quality ingredients and freshly baked breads. Morning selection is subpar.

The place is lovely, though because of a party in the outdoor room, the dining room was a bit noisy. We went early and had very good service. The food was very tasty. I had a lobster and shrimp dish with pasta and there was lots of lobster.

A friend and I came to Bottino to use a gift certificate and were pleasantly surprised. They have a terrific back patio with trees and a nice ambiance - only downside was the table of 10 next to us who were pretty loud and obnoxious for the entire evening. Our waiter was fantastic and was even able to explain the wines well himself instead of bringing out a sommelier. Service was prompt and the food was delicious. The only negative of Bottino was the bathrooms. For such a nice restaurant, I was shocked at how disgusting their bathrooms are!! They were honestly quite nasty and I would've expected a lot more from even a lower end restaurant, let alone a pretty mid-level one such as this.

This is a restaurant that has been around the Chelsea neighborhood a long time with a loyal following but recently added a new Chef (former Eataly assistant Chef) who changed the menu completely. I am happy to say that the change is successful. We started with the Chicken and Duck liver mousse and a special Arancini, and both were delicious. We next shared some pastas -- the Bavetta Caciao E Pepe and Tagliatelle Bolognese and both were excellent. For the main course, we had the grilled lamb chops which were the best I've had in a long time, and the organic chicken which was also scrumptious. Finally, you must save room for dessert. I understand that the pastry chef previously worked at Eleven Park Madison and the desserts are to die for. The service was wonderful and it was a great experience from start to finish. This is an exquisite restaurant running under the radar and highly recommend it.

The newly re-opened Bottino is a good place for ending a visit to the High Line as it is right near the 23 St. exit on Tenth Ave. (about 2 doors north of the corner of 24th St. and Tenth.). The food is delicious and they have added some new salads, one of which I tried the other night. It was an orange, fennel and arugula salad with an orange dressing and it was very fresh, crispy, and delicious. The dressing is doesn't go overboard on the citrus and has a more creamy quality, but very light. The Tuna Tagliata is wonderful -- perfectly grilled fillet pieces served over cannelloni beans with tomatoes, capers, olive tapenade and basil. The portions are generous. Service was terrific and the noise level was moderate.

Bottino! What can I really say about this place. Well let's start with the decor. It's so quaint and welcoming, the walls are painted in a perfect shade of ivory and the chairs match it so well. You are then led to the back if you choose to be seated in the garden, which is surreal. It is a large area in the back, with perfect scenery, trees and great outdoor lighting for your dinner. On to the staff. They are so welcoming, attentive and extremely polite. They always came to bring us more water, talked us up, asked us where we got our clothes and just seemed genuinely interested in us outside of just serving us food and going away. It was not just one either, it was a slew of them and even as other patrons started pouring in, the staff was still around and never more than an arm's reach away...just enough for when you need them and not overbearing. There is also a corner outdoor space that I believe is reserved for group seating and it looks perfect for a celebration dinner, like a birthday or graduation. The food! When I tell you that the menu is exquisite, quote me on it! The prices are amazing for NYC and they give you a healthy serving for everything. We had the fettuccine with lobster and shrimp and it was only $22, which is unheard of for a New York restaurant. It was filled with lobster, tasted amazing and I can't wait to go back and have it again. The bread they gave us at the beginning was awesome as well. They are also accommodating so do not hesitate to let them know about your dietary restrictions. They've gained a lifelong fan and I cannot wait to go back.

Charming place to dine good Italian style dishes. We booked it for New Year’s Eve and service was attentive in the beginning, then faded out. The dinner was good and some dishes outstanding. We enjoyed that the guests were welcomed in earlier and not chased down to pay asap.

We attended a birthday party here on Sunday night. The food was outstanding. The service, considering there were 75 people seated, was terrific and very attentive. Very nice ambiance and the bar area was especially nice. The hors d'oeuvres before dinner were plentiful and very, very good. I highly recommend a visit here.

Wandering Chelsea's galleries and wanted lunch. Deb suggested Bottino just 'cause of the way it looked. The hostess asked if we wanted inside seating or outside. Wow. They have the neatest courtyard - a delightful oasis in the city. It's covered but open - very Italian. Jack was our waiter and was loads of fun. Good suggestions. I had orrecchiette and Deb had a tuna nicoise salad. Both were very good. We shared the lemon tart for dessert and I had a glass of white - very generous pour and I appreciate that. It was crowded when we left but still very quiet. An unexpected highlight of our trip and we'll return.

Three of us had dinner on a recent visit. I ordered a pear, arugula, and walnut salad, lightly dressed with a balsamic dressing and a slab of gorgonzola. It was truly excellent, refreshing and flavorful. The three of us ordered the fettuccine with lobster and shrimp, a special of the evening. The pasta was perfectly cooked bit the lobster was a bit overdone, a minor flaw in an otherwise excellent dish. They serve good bread here, always a sign of a quality restaurant. For dessert, i had a ricotta tart, surprisingly light and flavorful. My partner had the bread pudding, topped with a dollop of vanilla ice cream, an outstanding choice and highly recommended. The service was quite correct; our waiter was friendly but a bit absent. The restaurant itself has a plain, subdued, and unpretentious decor. If you are searching for well prepared, classy food in a neighborhood restaurant, then Bottino is an excellent option. Pricing is reasonable, And even though the menu is not extensive, the quality of the food, judging from the dishes consumed, is very good.

The restaurant is on 10th Ave. a little out of the way in a busy residential area. To last so long here speaks to the fact that the food is good. The host was friendly, waitress (Ellie) could have been friendlier. Our selections were all very good. Caprese Salad was nice as was the Grilled Shiitake (A little salty for my taste). The pasta in our three entrees was cooked al dente as it should be. Clams in the Spaghetti were tender. The Boar Sausage in the Orecchiette was tastey with out being to spicy. The Tagliatelle Bolognese was a little bland but good. Coffee and Espresso were really enjoyed. I would have given an excellent rating except for the following. The chairs reminded me of public school. Hard, broad flat seats with matching backs. All our glasses and silverware had to be replaced as they were spotted, crusty residue on one fork. They do have an "A" rating from NYC Health Dept.

Can highly recommend this restaurant. The food, service and ambience were all excellent. Nothing was too much trouble for the team, who were both professional and warmly engaging. Loved it.

Love the take out sandwiches and salads... Easy, quick lunch take out. The inside dining experience is just okay.... Service is not as friendly on busy nights. Good seafood options and decent wine selection. Chocolate mousse dessert is tasty though.

I hadn't been to Bottino in 5+ years but decided to pop in early on a Friday night. We were welcomed and promptly seated without any "no reservations" drama. Our waiter (perhaps aussie) was very professional and nice and allowed us to try wines before deciding. Food was quite good - polenta and mushroom special was amazing, tomato and mozz salad good, roast chicken and tuna both nice. But we only drank one glass of wine and were out in under an hour. It wasn't busy at first but did seem to fill up. But c'mon, slow down. Sell us another $12 glass of wine! It wasn't THAT busy and this isn't Italy where we might linger for hours. Let the food be the star and don't allow your business plan to send us away indifferent.

My friend and I went to have a quick lunch. First I want to say that the ambience outside was nice, white clean tablecloth, fresh bread in a basket served with butter. We didn’t want anything heavy so we ordered 2 small salads. My friend liked hers. I ordered a fennel arugula orange salad (which I occasionally make it at home because I love it), there were literally 1 slice and a half of orange but the main problem was that it was way too salty (my friend tasted too to make sure wasn’t my impression). The waiter very promptly proposed me the beets salad...I happily went for it! Unfortunately The beets were “fizzy” and that happens when fruit or veggies are fermenting....I left the beets and ate whatever else was in the “BEETS salad” I think that if they would taste the rest of the beets that they had in the kitchen, they would realize the problem, I wasn’t looking for a discount although it would be fair for them to offer it.

The perfect Chelsea restaurant: out- standing food; rich, warm and savory, wonderful espit de corps, Charming garden.

This restaurant is really very good. There are so many great Italian restaurants in New York, and this one isn't flashy, but has great food. We ordered apps, salads, entrees, dessert, wine & coffee. I really enjoyed the burrata app, the antipasto plate and the zuppe di pesce. The pecan pie and chocolate pudding were delicious. The service was pretty good, too. Not spectacular, but good enough. I'd go back.
Beautiful to visit but not eat or drink there
Attended a private function that was poorly executed Almost 50 people and severely under staffed Drinks were prepared without ice Menu items were not served as described Items were served to guests haphazardly with some having to wait 15 minutes for others at the same table The venue is beautiful The food isn’t
