Avoid- Basically Applebees at 10 X price

By Frank F |

Steer clear- The food is SO subpar that I’m shocked anyone eats here more than once. It is like a very expensive Applebees- something that you’d expect to be a defunct mall in Arkansas- TERRIBLE

Worth the price

Right in the heart of times square, easy walk from most hotels in the area. Great atmosphere and the staffstaff is very professional. Food was amazing and the filets so high we had to share.

No Better Place to "Chop it Up" it NYC!!!!

By Rashada C |

First things first, I have to say how ABSOLUTYLEY IMPRESSED I was with this establishment and so glad that we chaise to celebrate a birthday here! As soon as you enter the front doors from the hustle and bustle of the block, you warp into a swanky, upscale, soulful dining atmosphere. The hostess were professional, welcoming and running a tight ship. We went to the bar to have drinks while we waited for the rest of our party and I am so glad we did as the bartender was so nice, had great conversation and the drinks were on point. We had such a great experience that a few people from our group went back the next day to have drinks. We were comfortably seated in a large booth towards the front of the dining room. Our server was Ragenio and he was super attentive, friendly and knowledgeable. We started with the lobster spring rolls, chicken satay, soft shell crab and the house salad and it was all tasty. For dinner we had Grilled Sea Bass, Filet Mignon Beef & Broccoli, Shrimp Crispy Rice, Colorado Lamb Chops, Crispy Sweet & Sour Eggplant, Salt & Pepper Shrimp, 16oz Filet Mignon Grilled, Broccoli & Garlic and Bok Choy and the lobster salad. Dang, that was almost the entire restaurant. LOL. Everything looked so good on the menu and we couldn’t decide so we just ordered family style and shared. My, my, myyyyyyy, my, my my,my! The food was SLAMMING! The sea bass was cooked to perfection and had a different spin on it than the typical “miso” that everyone does and it was cooked to perfection. The lamb chops were also cooked perfectly and the flavor went through and through. The steaks were of excellent quality and tendeeeer! The sides were all fresh and tasty and the shrimp was fire! The service and food were 15 out of 10 stars seriously! To top it all off, they had a great music selection playing at the PERFECT volume. We were able to have conversations over dinner and not strain to hear or yell to be heard. The owners were walking the floor and even stopped by the table to say hello! I was even more proud and happy to support a Black Owned Business in TIME SQUARE!!!! Phenomenal, dining experience and I highly suggest visiting.

DO NOT SPEND YOUR MONEY HERE! RESERVATIONS ARE USELESS; TERRIBLE SERVICE!

By Brigitte G |

Don't bother going to this "restaurant." My boyfriend and I decided to spend our 2 year anniversary dinner here at Brooklyn Chop House Times Square. BIG mistake! We had a 9:30 reservation, arrived on time, and were told that it would be at least 30 minutes before we could get a table. We sat down in the extremely crowded waiting area for over 30 minutes. Everyone around us had the same 9:30 reservation, and no one was ever seated. But the icing on the cake was when a security guard walked past us and knocked over a glass candle on my legs without acknowledging me. The glass candle broke, I was burned with hot wax, and my shoes & clothes were ruined (see images). When I said that I was hurt, I was brushed off and ignored. No one on the staff came to my aid, and we never got our table. Our anniversary night was RUINED! If I could give this restaurant a 0, I would. Never going back!

Don’t waste your money

Over priced and terrible service. Food was eh ok. Waitress got Orders wrong. Very long wait. It wasn’t crowded people must know not to go there.

A Trendy and Upscale Steakhouse

By Inez G |

Brooklyn Chop House - Times Square is a great choice for a special occasion meal or a night out on the town. The food is delicious, the service is impeccable, and the atmosphere is romantic.

Top tier

By Kat S |

I had a top tier experience from start to finish! I was scrambling to put together a 50th birthday dinner for a group of 10. I was fortunate to deal with a manager by the name of Chad who went above and beyond to assist me from start to finish from modifying our guest count last minute as well as putting together a customized pre fixe menu taking close consideration and attention to detail in regards to food allergies and substitutions. He ensured that the menus were personalized and efficient. His customer service was impeccable and he was an absolute pleasure to speak with every time. He was prompt and professional with answering any and all my questions all the way up until arriving. The ambiance of the restaurant was perfect and the food was a five star experience! This location is a must for anyone looking for supber service and a delicious dining experience. 10 out of 10 would highly recommend! Thank you Chad and the staff at Brooklyn Chop House Times Square for making it a very memorable experience for all who attended.

Not a checkered tablecloth steakhouse

By Trip770281 |

Do not believe the negative reviews. I'm convinced they are from people who live in small towns and can't handle the NYC culture. Food was amazing, the vibes were excellent, and the staff I encountered was pleasant. It's not an old world Italian themed steakhouse. It's hip and trendy. If you want a traditional boring, stuffy restaurant BCH is not for you. If you like an upscale young vibe, check it out. If you tuck your polo shirt into your khakis, it's probably not your scene.

Mediocre at best...

By AtlRealtor |

This restaurant came highly recommended from someone who is friends with the owner. Since he is in the know, I decided to check it out while in NYC for my bday. If you are looking for a 'vibe' with a little bit of a hip hop twist, this is a great place. Women's bathroom has some great selfie mirrors with neon signs if you're into that. The reason for my rating of 3...the server sat in the empty chair to take our order-unprofessional in this type of setting (you have to use your phone for Menu-QR Code) when I told her what I wanted, she stated that they didn't have that. I said, 'it's right here on the menu and the hostess recommended it.' She apologized because she had only been working there for 3 weeks. My BF ordered an Old Fashion, she brought something that was not. The food was mediocre at best.. Money wasn't an issue on this particular night but if we were going to pay high end steak house prices for dinner, I want exceptional service and food. This place didn't deliver either of those.

Terrible service, ok food, better when it was a Buffalo Wild Wings!!!

By DGVNJ |

We chose this place because of it's unique menu selection of dumplings and because it was close to the show we were seeing that night. We arrived for our reservation 90 minutes before we had to get to our show and asked to sit in an area so we could talk with each other because they had music blasting over the speakers. What did they do, sit us in the back which didn't have any street noise but we were still right under a speaker so that was a disappointment. The bussers came right away and got us our water and menus but we sat for 20 min before our server showed up. He apologized saying he was "taking care of some things" which seemed like a lame excuse but by then we were ready with our full order and gave it to him. We ordered an assortment of dumplings and I also asked for a the Cucumber Mint Cooler cocktail. It took him another 10 minutes to get me my drink which I might have understood if they were super busy but the place was half full. Eventually our dumplings came and they were good but nothing too amazing. The best of the lot were the French Onion Soup dumplings which was mainly because they weren't over done on the outside. The others, Spicy Lamb, Chicken Parm, Philly Cheesesteak, were dry and very chewy and the flavors ok, but we wouldn't think to order them again. We finished our mains and wanted to order dessert so I tried to get our servers attention. Unfortunately he was too distracted watching TV. This place used to be a Buffalo Wild Wings and I guess they kept all the old TV's in the place because they were everywhere. He finally started to come over but turns out it was for a group just seated. I was able to get him to come to us and told him we have a show in 30 min but could we get an order of the Crispy Apple Wontons and the check. About 10 min later I see him again standing there watching TV and still I have no check or dessert. Finally he brings us the dessert and I have to ask him again for the check. We got out of there with at 6.55pm but thankfully we only had to go next door to our show. We really were hoping for better but I don't think this place is worth the money you'd spend there.

A Culinary Delight with Sanya's Exceptional Service!

By Dereck W |

I had the pleasure of being served by Sanya yet again at Brooklyn Chophouse Times Square, and it was an unforgettable experience. This time around it was a business dinner and I am very glad it was nothing short of success. Sanya's recommendations for the food were spot-on, showcasing her in-depth knowledge of the menu. Her attentiveness and joyful energy added a delightful touch to the evening, making it truly exceptional. A big shoutout to Sanya for making my dining experience at the Brooklyn Chophouse Times Square a fantastic one! Will be returning again!

Steakhouse That A Chop Above the Rest

By Michael W |

Brooklyn Chop House delivers exactly what you'd expect: a high-energy, upscale steakhouse experience in the heart of the action. The steaks themselves were cooked well, though not mind-blowingly exceptional. I had the ribeye, which was perfectly seasoned and cooked to my liking, but lacked that extra something special that makes a truly memorable steak. My dining companion's filet mignon was more tender, but similarly lacked a "wow" factor. The sides were solid – the creamed spinach was a particular highlight – but nothing groundbreaking.

Asian meets Steakhouse!! YUM!

By kpax5 |

This place was recommended to us and it did not disappoint. It’s “Asian meets Steakhouse”! We ordered several “small plates” that were ALL delish! We had the lettuce wraps, the duck tacos (yum) and the chicken wontons. All were packed with flavor! We did not have steak but what we “saw” looked good! Our waitress Melissa was on double duty, bartender/waitress and we wanted for NOTHING. She made great recommendations! The location is right in the middle of Times Square! Convenient! Walkable if you are in Times Square, but there is a subway nearby! We will be back time and time again!

Definitely a place to checkout

By Aisha G |

We decided to have couples night out here. Upon arriving the Silver fox ( sorry forgot your name) at the door smiled said a few welcoming words and walked us in. Already I am pleased. Not use to being greeted. We were still waiting for the other couple so we had drinks and apps at the bar. Rico took care of us and made our drinks perfect. No light pouring here. When we sat down Dani was our server. She mentioned there were a few of them there with the same name. Beautiful young lady she knew the menu and made several recommendations on what to get. We started with gyro lamb dumplings and chicken wontons. For the main dishes we had the ribeye, lamb chops, lobster tail, broccoli, bok choy and fried rice. For drinks we ordered the drink tower. Let me tell you everything was delicious. Everything we ordered came out right temperature and seasoned just right. Great place to eat, drink and take pictures. We met some cool people at the table next to us. Dani took our pictures as we held up our green tea shots. She was friendly, attentive and did it all with a smile. It is nice to see an establishment took time in hiring and training the right people. Everyone truly seemed happy to be working. No one standing around looking at their phones or having some side conversation. We will be back. Thank you for a wonderful evening.

The rice was dry, the chicken Satay had no flavor, drinks were terrible, wine list was poor. We will not be back

By Joyce H |

The food was underwhelming, little flavor, drinks were terrible, we didn’t drink them, and the wine list was poor. Waited forever for our check.

Amazing service provided by our beautiful server Sanja

By Rodrigo M |

I came to Brooklyn Chop House Times Square today with my family to celebrate my son’s birthday and right away we were greeted by our amazing server Sanja who gave us great recommendations for food and drinks. The service was exceptional and the food delicious. Would recommend to visit this restaurant and ask for Sanja to be your server to get the best Brooklyn Chop House experience.

Above and Beyond

By familyis4ever |

This restaurant was top notch! We accidentally made our reservation for the other location but had a reservation for the theater nearby and they gladly accommodated us. We sat upstairs and had a comfortable view of the whole restaurant. Once the serving staff learned of my alpha gal allergy, they communicated efficiently with all that would be handling my food and never made me feel like a burden. I had the best chicken lettuce wraps and two appetizers. It was delightful, service was above par, and we even made it to the show on time,

Take A Hard Pass On BCH Times Square

By Pazful |

Let’s start with the “service.” It was abysmal, Several menu and drink offerings were unavailable. No crab fried rice…many wine selections…unavailable. Our server made too many mistakes to count. He failed two deliver two of the meal choices we ordered. We received one of our steaks, the tomahawk ribeye priced at $180, without a steak knife and served “medium” rather than medium rare as we ordered it. Finally, after dinner we ordered coffee and we’re told the restaurant was out of coffee.!?!?!? Our dinner tab was nearly $1,000 and it was far from money well spent. Did I mention the reason we were dining was to celebrate our shared wedding anniversaries? Do yourself a favor and skip this Times Square attraction….

Trade Chop House for Trattoria!

By Geohabe |

We had a reservation for 3 for mothers day. When we arrived we were told there was a special mothers day menu for a flat $175 Per Person and we couldnt order from the l regular menu without alsom paying thebl $175.00!!!!! This for what is basically a Chinese restaurant! We cancelled the res and went across the street to Trattoria, an excelent upscale italian restaurant where we were able to order from the regular menu. Glad we booked a reservation with Chop House so we could discover Trattoria!

Star Status Everything

By Onlyryd |

Everything was Amazing! I’m a steak girl and it was a good choice. For dessert we shared Crispy apple wonton. Presentation was as beautiful as the atmosphere. Seems like a bit of a celebrity hang out. We saw Fat Joe on our way out.

Delicious!!!

Excellent food! Wonderful staff! Sour out Regino! Great music & drinks! This place is a vibe! I will definitely recommend trying the bass and garlic broccoli

if you're not a celebrity don't come here

By Sasha E |

I originally wanted to go to Carmines however because we didn't make a reservation the wait time was 2 hours. I checked my phone for what I would hope to be the next best thing considering the ambiance and reviews when I looked online and came across this establishment. When we first entered we were greeted by the doorman/ bouncer who couldn't be farther from welcoming. They didn't seem organized they asked if we had a reservation and it kind of went to one person to another very sporadic and unorganized. Then when we were seated which was quite fast considering the weekend and the foot traffic at other places. As soon as we were seated one person handed our menus then a next person came as asked what I wanted to order when I didn't even have a chance to look at the menu. The waiter seemed annoyed and bothered by us perhaps due to our appearance but that is just my speculation. She talked to us condececedling when I asked about certain menu items. I ordered the king crab legs which was one of the pricey menu items but I assumed it would be good but it was not, it tasted very salty like sea water and the sauce did not go well with it, also it does not come with any sides. The fried rice was very oily and lacked authentic Chinese flavors. The only saving grace of everything was the drinks I got the tropical fruit drink and it was absolutely delicious so in conclusion I personally wouldn't return here mostly due to how myself and partner felt like a burden..but if you're in Times Square and want a tasty drink then choose that option.

Excellent Food

By Ayo A |

We had dinner here last week. Shout out to the hostesses who sat our party and made concessions for our party of 9. Really appreciate that. The food was delicious. We had the Beijing chicken, calamari, filet mignon, sweet-and-sour chicken, vegetable fried rice, chicken fried rice, grilled sea bass, bao buns, eggplant and sangria! The only complaint I have is that we had to track down our waiter whenever we needed something.

Good Asian food

By WChesterGreg |

Great food after a long day of sightseeing. The chicken soup is great and filling. We had a light dinner of Asian food and all was delicious.

Girls Night Out Vibe

By Naite H |

The vibe was top tier. Our server did not hesitate to go above and beyond to provide us with what we needed. The inside of this place was just visually beautiful… so for those that love to sneak a photo op in, this is the spot for you. I was very appreciative for everyone that stopped by our table that made sure my party was good. When in New York please stop by the Brooklyn Chop House… you will not be disappointed.

Parker says "Nice bar with nice drinks"

By Parker Sturbridge |

This is a great, lively bar for a late night drink or two. Bar staff are very service oriented and pour a nice drink with a smile. Seating is tight if you're not at the bar, and the little square padded stools don't work for very long, but the overall vibe is wonderful.

SCARY place

By David D |

We booked this restaurant because of the reviews we had read. The restaurant was so sketchy that we left before anyone could even take our order. DO NOT GO HERE if you want a quality experience for a steak house in NYC.

Improvements Required

By Jennifer lo |

My experience was not great or even good We were seated downstairs (the dungeon). . The vibe was not the same as upstairs. I felt i was at a wedding venue with inexperience waiters & bartendar. The music was different from upstairs. The atmosphere was not warm and welcoming downstairs The menu requires updating, there were items that were no longer available. The steaks we ordered was served incorrectly. The duck taco was dry as well as the glazed pork ribs. The lobster dumplings was just filled with breaded stuffing, very little lobster, if any. I could go on & on with other dissappointing factors, FOOD, DRINK & ATMOSPHERE failed my high expectations for BCH establishment. After spending a 1000+, .the birthday celebration was a true disappointment 😞 ,

HORRIBLE

By kimberly m |

First time coming to brooklyn chop house looked like a fine dining restaurant came out for a family members 30th birthday dinner , party of 4 on 8/9/2024 8pm , walked in , a host told my friend to remove his hat from what he understood , they told us to have a seat while we wait for our table we saw a couple tables with there hats ON so we assumed she did not say that …. we were walked to our table , and right before taking a seat apparently the “event manager” didn’t get her name walked to us in the most disgusting manner everrrrrrr!!!!!!! i sat in my seat trying to not get the urge to get up and honestly curse her the f**k out and leave because these were our plans for the night this restaurant , this lady yelled at our friend making hand movements like she was someone who was ready to fight from the streets yelling “i’m not gona tell you again “ slapping her hands while saying this no1 stopped her from acting so disgustingly foolish in our eyes ,we sat down quietly my friend didn’t say a word of disrespect we didn’t even get a word in we were more shocked then anything n my friend even said “okay sorry” right before we sat down it was something that really took us out and embarrassed us i even questioned “where the hell are we” ? what is this place why the hell did we just apologize? no1 came to say anything !!!! we just tried to enjoy the dinner at a point , whole time at dinner we saw sooo many tables gentlemen in the VIP area (we didn’t know it was a VIP area ) until chad explained to us at the end of our night with there hats on we were confused this manager the way she came at us wow if this is a rule let it apply to everyone and walk up to everyone’s tables like the way you came to us !!! i waited to speak to a manager after our dinner we called chad over he apologized for her behavior & that he had spoken to her about it the only disappointing part on his side was not even approaching us knowing it was wrong and we had to call his attention meanwhile while this happened he was right next to the event manager , that was super unprofessional we also told him we took pictures of the tables with hats incase he didn’t believe us n he said “that’s fine you can keep the pictures we know”… he had said the event manager was having a bad night because of a table of before they had an issue with earlier , which is not okay i truly do not want to hear that i myself work at a restaurant 2 blocks over for 9 years !!!! someone who acts like this gets fired immediately & we can’t just get out of character because we’re having a bad day , this could of escalated … especially if someone is not disrespecting you at all ! it was so disgusting having even servers around & all the staff looking at her yell at him , and you get that “ title “ a manager because you know how to handle certain situations and just because of an incident they had to deal with before us was not our fault and we definitely did not deserve that. we were told every table that had hats/caps on were under the owners name cool totally understand that he is in-title to do what he wants in his restaurant , again this was our first time here we do not know your rules , just communicate like any human in a professional manner that’s all it was again we work in a restaurant 2 blocks over and we would be super understanding we deal with rules, managers ,people , everything, while talking to chad there was a host i believe by the name of Joane ? while we were talking n chad gave me his card and name after speaking to us she rudely interrupted and introduced herself trying to be silly … n that’s all she did super loud “ANDDDD MY NAME IS JOANE “ , i ignored her and told chad to have a good night she was just around hearing the gossip of course i saw her passing by back and forth , just a manager as well letting THAT happen shows a lot of what gets to get a pass in this restaurant…. super disappointed ! just horrible , overall server was super excellent & nice, apologizes if we gave him such a bad vibe in the beginning we couldn’t even think of a drink or food or even a welcoming greet back for a moment we were so disturbed this event manager & everyone apart of this left a bad taste in our mouth … i truly HOPE you guys rectify this at ur establishment.

NYC: A Must See: Brooklyn Chop House

By Marvalous M |

Brooklyn Chop House is a great 'after the theatre' dinner spot. The food is delicious and the service is exceptional. Great location, comfortable and beautiful atmosphere.

Absolutely no way I am going back - ever

By Deborah K |

I am never going back again - it’s unjustifiably expensive and expect really poor service - refill your own water and wine because they are too busy doing nothing. We had a ton of food left and it was taken away without asking us if we wanted a doggy bag. For the price we paid it’s basically stealing. Was it the best beef brocoli I’ve ever had? No but it was certainly the most expensive - by a landslide.

Great pre theater dinner

By Cathy |

I am kind of surprised with the 1 star reviews, luckily we didn’t stay away. We loved our dinner out before catching Our Town. We went Saturday so they didn’t have their pre theater special which sounded fantastic. We didn’t want a huge steak so we shared 2 appetizer type dishes and a smaller entree. The fried pork dumplings were sooooo good. The lettuce chicken wraps were ok, I enjoyed them but I wouldn’t order them again. And I had a salad with strips of steak. The steak was amazing and the salad was very simple but oh so good. The ice cream for dessert was amazing, try the salted caramel or the chocolate. And the cheesecake was very tasty too. The restaurant is beautiful and the lighting is Gorgeous. We felt special and pampered on our night on the town. Would definitely go back again

Don't believe the hype!!!

By KT H |

For starters the hostesses are all trash - they provided poor service, were unfriendly, and didn't communicate well; despite arriving early for my 8:00 PM reservation, I was seated in a back room that the hostess called a garden [located in the back room on the 2nd floor], and after requesting to move downstairs where it was empty, I still waited 20 minutes to be seated at a table. I eventually was escorted to a table by another hostess with a bad attitude and was placed at a table in the back of the restaurant [didn't know WE still do that]! The food was lukewarm, bland however our server [Sonya, I believe her name was] was amazing!! Don't waste your time or spend a dime on coming here as it is NOT worth it!!!

A memorable experience for us!!

By Newton255 |

My wife and I selected The Brooklyn Chop House to celebrate our 18th wedding anniversary and we were EXTREMELY pleased! We made reservations, so we didn’t have to wait more than 5 minutes to be seated. Once seated, our waitress took our drink orders and delivered them in ~5-10 minutes tops. She then took our orders, came back often to either refill our water glasses or take our additional drink orders until our food arrived. I would say it took ~15-20 minutes tops to receive our food and when it arrived we were EXTREMELY pleased with our selections! My wife had the sea bass, our son had the dumplings (they are really like small sliders) and I had a steak. We ordered broccoli and the crab fried rice for the table. ALL OF OUR ITEMS WERE DELICIOUS! I think that was THE BEST AND FRESHEST crab I have had!! I highly recommend paying this location a visit and DEFINITELY try the crab fried rice!!

We really enjoyed our dinner, lamb chops for me and veal chop for my spouse. The service was great an all around lovely evening.
