I found this place accidentally and was looking for lunch. I sat outside, which was empty, but my server checked on me often. I ordered the chicken pot pie, and it was AMAZING! The pot pie was gigantic. It was perfectly made. The pastry was crispy and hot. The filling was delicious, savoury, and packed with chicken. What a find! Seriously, I have never had such a good chicken pot pie. You folks nailed it. This is on my 'to-visit' list whenever I'll be at NYC.

thought we were dumb tourists. Told us we couldnât have tap water and made us have bottled even though everyone around us had tap water. then forgot some of our order. Then watched me hold the card machine watching how much I tipped. I got Diet Coke in a cheap plastic cup when everyone else got proper glasses. Iâm a waitress who saved up money to go to NYC for the first time. As a waitress I would never treat anyone this way. We were completely disregarded.

When we came to NYC, we wanted to stop somewhere that had a combination of many of the NYC comfort foods that we were craving. We just walked in and were seated, but it is busy and you may need to wait. Try to come off peak. Service: Efficient and professional. Food: Everything from giant hot dogs, chicken pot pie, pastrami sandwiches, and matzah soup (come early for this) and many other items (burgers, hot sandwiches, tacos and more). All seem to be huge in size. Prices: Reasonable for what you get. Atmosphere: Looks like a traditional diner inside and out. Overall: We were satisfied with our visit and thought it had good value and the meals were tasty and reasonably priced. We would go back.

An authentic âdinnerâ in Manhattan! The setting is very nice. The dishes are traditional and the waiters are really professional and pleasant. Effective and friendly.

Popped in for breakfast, seated and given coffee & orange juice. Took a few minutes to get any milk to,go in the coffee. Had to attract attention to be able to order after finishing our coffee. Order arrived, quickly, yogurt breakfast was lovely, fresh fruit, nicely presented. Pancake arrived, just a single pancake with a bacon side. Had to chase up after waiting a few mins for butter/maple syrup to be able to start enjoying the meal. Pancake was a little underdone. As someone else mentioned the host waited for us to put tip amount in, no privacy, as we didnât tip 20%, he asked us what went wrong, not wanting to make a fuss we just said nothing major. As we were leaving, I heard him quizzing our server about us, which I felt was unprofessional, and disrespectful. Also it was so cramped we had to move our table to get out of our corner, we were not in a booth.

We have always loved this diner. Itâs not inexpensive but it always has been unique. Not your typical NYC diner at allâŠBreakfast dishes were always accompanied by a side of fried polenta bits with a delicious marina sauce. BUT NO LONGER! They changed the menu this week! Now itâs the same old home fries served at every other diner. No more polenta. And my avocado toast was not beautifully served as before with poached eggs and a generous sprinkling of feta cheese. Instead, there were fried eggs dumped unceremoniously on top of the toast and the offending home fries. The waiter did replace the fried eggs with poached, and the staff seemed disappointed and perplexed about the menu change. I hope they change it back. Something special has been lost.

I've eaten here a number of times over the years but it had probably been 4 years since my last visit. I had the cheeseburger with fries and a chocolate egg cream. This is pretty much my go-to order here and it has never disappointed me. I sat outside on the lovely patio with umbrella tables. They don't take reservations specifically for outdoor dining but you can of course book a standard table and write in the notes that you prefer outside but it's not a guarantee. I plan to return here, as it always offers a reliable experience and tasty food.

it is a classic diner and well known. Close to Times Square and Carnegie Hall. The fame is justified by a nice atmosphere, good food, friendly and efficient staff. Delicious ribs, pretty good Frankfurter sausage, excellent beer.

Wonderful matzo ball soup! Wonderful pastrami! Would go back! Highly recommend to friends and family!

The burgers and beer were very good. The welcome and service were professional. Reasonable price Close to central Park.

The food was delicious but extremely overpriced. It was over $20 for a single burger and fries. I understand that it is New York but a single milkshake was $12. We just wanted a simple meal after a long day of traveling. We tried to use visa gift cards to pay for the meal but the manager forced a high tip because of visaâs âregulations. He didnât even tell us before he rang us in because we would have used cash otherwise. Frustrating experience

Beautiful diner with lots of vibrant colors on the outside. Right across the street from Nordstrom Rack too! The waffle bacon grilled cheese might easily be one of the best items on the menu and the milkshakes were great too! Servers were kind and always smiling and the inside just really gave me old diner vibes. Amazing and would definitely recommend to anyone who loves nostalgic diners!

Fantastic food with great friendly staff just off Central Park We arrived Christmas Day morning without reservation but we was kindly offered a table despite clearly being very busy. The food was simply delicious and our waitress couldnât have been more helpful (and unlike other places) they clearly had the Christmas spirit đ

I showed up solo shortly before closing on Friday Oct 13. The manager was very friendly and welcoming and my waiter was very warm and attentive - I didnât know what to order and he suggested the burrito bowl. It was terrific and so was the service. It felt like a really warm and welcoming place, and the manager called out a goodbye when I left.

This was our second visit here, almost exactly a year apart, and left happy again. We really like the feel of the place, although recognise itâs probably aimed more at us tourists. Nice layout with the booths and the serving team are efficient and pretty good fun. Most importantly, the food is good,. Quality burger and the pollo Cubano was very tasty. Prices are ok for NYC.

The Brooklyn Diner has amazing service and good food, with a nice atmosphere in midtown. We were grateful for our waiter who worked with our schedule. Get the oreo milkshake and chicken and waffles!

If you own the Brooklyn Diner in LaGuardia Airport it really needs help. It took 45 minutes to get a yogurt and coffee. My husbandâs omelette had nothing in it and was really over cooked. No orange juice and they had no idea what table was what. The servers are very nice but itâs a complete disaster. This is not a leisurely brunch- you have to catch a plane. Every customers had the same awful experience.

We tasted a cheesecake and a milkshake and both were amazing! The setting is typically American and the servers very friendly! I highly recommend this place!

Top diner for burger and a great location. By the way we saw this diner in different movies or series so we had to go to taste it and we were not disappointet. Enjoy it đ

I gad breakfast here a couple of times. Good choice on menu. Friendly staff. Clean and food was hot. Didn't feel rushed at all

Diner looked great. Our server,Faith, was fantastic!Food OK! When paying, another server came;my husband asked if Faith would get the tip? He said yes; soon after we learned was a lie. Trying to get it to her, Managers were rude, throwing my husband out with insults! Never go to a place that treats employees unfairly!!

A quiet place right next to Times Square with a classy and pleasant welcome. Attractive proposed menu for a more than reasonable price for such a place. Thanks again to the very friendly waiter, everything was perfect!!

Really great place good food and great service ( it was my birthday ) i took the ribs and must say 5 stars Especially thanks to Yaye

Exceptional service , we really enjoyed the food here the milkshakes especially the pistachio one was mind blowing and if your in New York you need to try this , we went as a family of 4 and found the prices although high about the same everywhere but the food was brilliant and we enjoyed it , the staff were friendly and interactive with our visit we would fully recommend taking time out to try here while your there 5 stars

The last time I was in NYC was for the half marathon in 2013. Which was also my last time here, having been many times before. In my opinion it is a must in New York, especially for breakfast. The French Toast is up there, definitely the best in the city. Service is always spot on, especially when seated at the bar.

Very very average and now obviously a tourist trap. Food wasn't that great, had to chase for coffee, no water offered, butter, preserves and maple syrup only comes after chasing. Only time when our server came available when is we asked for the bill. We left over half of the food, no questions asked by the sever if everything was ok. Much better available locally so my advice would be to avoid.

Rather landed there by chance for breakfast,,but it was great (albeit the most expensive breakfast of our stay..) The atmosphere was cozy relaxed, great organized, all extremely friendly and the map very comprehensive. We would definitely come back!!!!!

We were visiting NYC and walking around near Central Park. Did a search and found this diner. I ordered a hotdog, not my typical meal choice. Got the sauerkraut on the side and mustard and relish on the side. When it was brought to me, I was a bit skeptical. It was quite a lot of hotdog and sitting on top part of a toasted bun. But it was absolutely delicious! It was very tasty and the French fries were delicious, as well. Service was outstanding and the meal was just an experience of N.Y.C.!

This is by far the most sympathetic owner, because I've ever met. Very helpful and friendly. The staff is also very friendly and also very quick. The food tastes 1a.

As a visitor from the UK it was a great experience. Nice authentic diner, great staff and a really good meal. Try the 15 bite hot dog - highly recommended

Having returned to my roots as a former New Yorker, I was craving the experience of a classic diner. This is it! Fabulous pastrami sandwich, home baked pies, cakes and cookies, and a great vibe. The managers and wait staff were very attentive even during a busy time of day. Great fries; wish they had a knish.

Yaye B was an excellent server. Took orders quickly, was patient, and kept table clean. Would recommend coming and asking for him.

This by FAR is the best diner I have ever been to. Mr.Guy is the most outstanding host. He was so interactive with everyone. He was the energy. The server Joshua is going to the best waiter you will ever have in this lifetime and the next. The food was BEYOND satisfying.

Unwashed plates and a little bit greasy Uninterested waiters.. Please avoid we were all sick after eating here Should of walked out without paying

Me and my friends loved this place. First visit but won't be the last - we'll definitely be back next time we're in the city. The location close to Central Park was great. After a really long morning exploring we saw this place and some of use wanted a meal and others wanted a snack and a milkshake and none of use were disappointed. The portion sizes were good, the food was tasty and the service was amazing despite it being so busy. The atmosphere was great too - so interesting to see the plaques and pictures on the walls of patrons and guests over the years. Prices were fair for the location and quality of the food and we were seated quickly.

Great service from Kervin! Delicious food, big portions and a welcoming atmosphere with a very quintessential diner feeling.

We visited on a cold rainy Monday around 11am. The staff was very attentive and let us know that we needed to make a decision of whether we wanted lunch or breakfast as they would be switching out soon. Fair. I elected to get a daily special of French toast-delicious-and my husband opted for chicken and waffles (not sure if it was a special or normal menu item). Our 11yo granddaughter opted for chicken sandwich. We all enjoyed our food immensely and the service was terrific. Will be back.

We visited from UK on the day we were travelling home. A fab place with yummy food. Wanted to change my order and waitress (may have been manager) was soooo lovely, brought me the apple pie and ice cream which tasted amazing. Reading lots of reviews about the price but no different to most places in Manhattan (not sure what people expect?) And as for people moaning about wait times, probably due to the run up to Christmas so expected. Lovely diner with lovely staff and atmosphere and such a friendly woman who served us.

Brilliant old school diner in Times Square. Inevitability not cheap due to location but, unlike a lot of the tourist traps in the vicinity, food and service excellent. Fluffiest pancakes we have ever had. Non stop refills of coffee.

Daniel Luna was amazing service and the food was delicious. Highly recommend this place. Iâve been In New York 2 days and this is the best place Iâve eaten at.

Don't even think about coming to this place. The visit with my wife was a total mistake. As we went in a person dressed with the chef outfit greeted us and took us to a table. I thought that the reason he placed us on that side of the place might have been due to reservations. But that was not the case, we were taken to the darkest table in the place right by the restrooms. Later i figured that the way we were attended might have been to our Hispanic appearance. The waiter clearly a Hispanic, would not respond in Spanish, and would only answer in English, later i heard him talk to another waiter in Spanish. i ordered a bacon cheese burger deluxe, my wife a pastrami sandwich. My wife and I do travel a lot in America and Europe, so we know about restaurant attention. The result was a minimalist hamburger with a tiny size brioche bun, impossible to work around with fork and knife, the fries not better than burger king if you know what i mean. So for 23 dollars it is an insult to even think about ordering it. The pastrami sandwich is really the worst experience we have ever had. Another minimalist sandwich that your could prepare in your kitchen. The construction of the sandwich was really messy, a side salad in a tiny dish whose purpose is yet to be explained, we assumed that it was just decoration because it looked like the left overs from other salad plates. I could describe even further but it only adds to my remorse of taking my beloved wife to this place. So in conclusion, we payed 75 dollars for two plates that were not even close to extraordinary as to pay that amount. So my take is that the cost of the visit is charged on the place were it is located, and has nothing to do with presenting gourmet dishes, which is what they say they are famous for. I do not recommend this place to my worst enemy, aside that we felt mis-treated just because of being of Hispanic appearance.

The service was really good. My waffle and eggs were very good. Convenient location. Very clean place.

We wanted a simple authentic burger and fries from an NYC diner and this did not disappoint. Fantastic burgers and amazing fries plus beer and milkshake. Huge cookies for dessert

This was probably the best meal we had in NEW YORK , the diner was nice , staff friendly, and food was tasty . Had a pastrami sandwich, burrito bowl for everyone else. Very well presented. And all food finished . Had cheese cake and coconut cake for desert. Waitor was a guy called Shaq I believe, really nice guy looked after us well .

Most folks head right for the Carnegie Deli on the corner of 57th, but skip the crowds and walk a half block to the Brooklyn Diner. Tourists do not come here, and the menu and service are awesome. Perfect place for a business or family meal.

The last time I was here was 17-years and while their menu hasn't changed, the food is just as delicious as I remember it. Well worth coming back to.

A true New York classic diner. Richy was our excellent server who guided us through an amazing meal including the best pastrami Reuben Iâve ever tasted and a moist triple layer chocolate cake that was perfectly balanced between sweet and bitter. Canât recommend this place highly enough.

Food excellent , exceptional service by Rick, who attended us with genuine sympathy. The Pastrami Reuben sandwich was one of the best i had ⊠if you around the 57th, i do recommend you to go there âŠ

This place is WAY overpriced trash. Each personâs meal was cold. The location and ambience were the only positives. Hair also found in food. I understand Iâm in New York and prices are higherâbut if you canât serve at least warm food, then you have no business in the restaurant industry. Gross. Donât waste your time or money.

So far the best pancake Iâve ever had! This place will be my mandatory spot when Iâm in NYC! The manager was so nice and helpful and the waiters too. Good service!

Our host was adorable. We were able to be seated fast. Our order was taken in a timely fashion and our food came out quickly and was excellent. The polenta cakes were so good! The jam tasted home made.

Itâs been years since we where last year and really nothing has changed & thatâs not a bad thing đđ» The menu is what youâd expect or want from an American diner with all the ticks and plusesđ€ You know burgers, waffles or all day breakfast, I mean where do you really go wrong for a hearty lunch.. the service was like an English high tea and pleasant, meal was punctual and plentiful, that was the only thing close to being in the Big Apple..

Really expensive since they are right next to Central Park, but great food and service - home run breakfast (huge fluffy pancake, eggs, bacon, sausage, whipped cream, home fries w/ peppers + onions) and coffee of coarse

Solid ethnoc blend of items, and all day breakfast.. I had pollo Cubano..yummy Old school waitstaff feels like they have worked here decades.. Solid solid choice of your in time square area

Year 70 atmosphere typically American. Good hearty breakfast just enough to avoid attentive personal lunch. High price but all in all justified,

Hayden was great!!! Service was fast and sweet. Great attitude and smile! He was the best! I am definitely going to come back!

I know the Brooklyn Diner at 57th Street since 1997 - they keep a consistently high quality in all relevant aspects: friendliness, food and speed - what can you ask more from a diner!

The experience was just remarquable during a rainy day, I can say that everyone has a great energy in this restaurant from the boss to the employees. And the food is just amazing

Went twice for dinner with the family - both times a booth by the window - for mainly the atmosphere and service - classic American diner, with low lighting, great decor and service. Everyone seemed to be having a jolly time. Good standard American food.

Good friendly service. Well proportioned meal. Quality of food was good. Great dinner experience. Highly recommended

The Oreo milkshake alone is worth the trip! The Cheesecake is also excellent. Wide choice of American breakfast classics like French toast, bacon đ„ & eggs. Some bagels accompanied by greenery which is rather rare in New York

Terrible place. The food is quite good, but the prices are extremely high (for example, two of us paid $71 for breakfast). The worst part, however, are the waiters: they're very polite at first, but when it comes time to pay and you decide not to leave a tip (since the bill is already high and the tip starts at 20%), they attack you and demand it; they become extremely rude! Don't go there, trust me.

Based on some of our previous dining choices, we werenât expecting much. We chose the Brooklyn Diner on 43rd because of its proximity to the theater and we thought it would appeal to our two teenage grandchildren. Loved the location, decor, booths, the efficient and friendly wait staff and, most importantly, the food. I had the fish (cod) tacos which were very good. Chicken pot pie, hamburgers and fries - tasty comfort food.

Best burger in NY. Service was excellent and we will talk about that food for a long time. Every aspect of this visit was perfect

Typical American diner, casual cuisine and hearty portions. Relaxing and cheerful atmosphere wrapped in a 70s/80s background. Menu with a wide choice. A beautiful experience, a real dive into the American film style. Not to be missed.

Very disappointed đ Burger without more, strawberry milkshake good. But the waiter ripped me off on the bill! I had a Burger and milkshake menu, it counted both off menu! I claimed and now he tells me he made a price on the milkshake. I had to get angry to get the original price! In addition, it requires payment by card to get the tips! Tips mandatory of 18% minimum!!! To flee!!!!!!

Having just arrived via plane, bus and subway, we were ready to eat before dropping off our luggage at our hotel. The decor was cheerful, the staff friendly and accommodating, (we still had our large backpacks with us!) And most importantly the food was excellent! Prices what you'd expect from a restaurant near everything on Manhattan but worth it. We felt better and refreshed and ready to start our day and trip!

Nice venue .......we had 2 x homerun breakfasts with a tea and a coffee and orange juice and the bill came to $95.... food was ok nothing special .. wasn't aware the orange juice wasn't complementary as they didn't imply it was extra so was shocked to see 2 glasses came to nearly $12 ... the breakfast was certainly not worth the price . Only saving grace was the service which was very good.

Worst diner Iâve been to in nyc. Also the most expensive. Tourist trap. Bagel was horrific and cost $30. Service was below par. Had to ask for the check three times. Wonât return.

Had high expectations having never had a waffle breakfast in the USA before. Totally disappointed, it was cold, didnât taste very nice, cold latte. Exceptionally poor and grossly overpriced, stick to the small independents far superior.

The hostess and server went out of their way to make sure we enjoyed our meal. I just was amazed at their kindness and hospitality. The chicken noodle soup was also very delicious!

BEST BURGER I HAVE EVER HAD! My dad got the waffle burger and loved it and my mom got the deluxe bacon burger and we shared that. We got it cooked medium and it was so juicy. We also got the 12 bite mozzarella and it was so cheesy and delicious. The ketchup was very potent and definitely not Heinz. They had complimentary mouthwash in the bathroom. Lollipops and toothpicks at the exit. Very famous and now I know why!

perpendicular to 7th avenue typical New York my wife had a vegetarian burger and I had a chicken cubonos with lots of flavors 8o s with two half to 10 s but it's good and nice service

We stopped for breakfast. I think they need a new hostess. All she had to do was seat us. She started babbling about breakfast was over and lunch was in 20 minutes, even though they serve breakfast all day, it was only 11 AM. We had walked by the day before and saw they served breakfast all day, how could she not know that. We were seated at a cramped table by the window. We ordered pancakes, 2 pancakes are $19.00 and one pancake is $15.00. The H & H for the coffee was in a cup and went all over when I tried to pour it. They were large but very overpriced. We hardly had a sip of coffee and they were delivered so fast. Again, no whipped butter but at least the syrup was in a container. We had to ask for refill for the coffee and when they seated 2 people at a table next to us no one could get by them to fill our coffees. They were so uncomfortable they got up and moved. OK if you put the tables together with ours for 4 people but it just doesn't work if someone is seated at the window. Our waiter was fair at best. $56.00 with tax and tip for 3 pancakes and 2 coffees ! Don't do it! Needless to say we did not return and were glad we found Carnegie Deli just across the street. Will write a review for them. I am rating them poor because the value is breathtakingly bad if you want pancakes.

Lovely diner, much better than others nearby, less chaotic, quieter and seated straight away. Our waiter was very nice, food was great. I would definitely come back here.

Terrible experience. 23 bucks for a tiny yogurt. They claimed it would come with fruit but it was one strawberry and three blueberries. Buyer beware. Service was also incredibly slow!

We stumbled across this lovely little diner. Staff were friendly and food was great - large portions and extremely tasty. Great place and will certainly go back when in NYC.

Typical American diner, very nice and well-kept; I was there for both lunch and breakfast; the choice is wide and the staff courteous. The food is good and the portions generous. It's not exactly cheap, like all the places in New York now, taxes and tips always have to be added to the bill

We had an early dinner here. Very friendly service and good food. I expect due to its location that booking would be advisable come the summer months and at peak eating times

Lovely breakfast of corned beef hash and eggs. A little pricey, but hey this is New York. Gets very busy so if you can book its best.

The 27 dollar breakfast plate With cold soaky hash browns and luke warm coffee is a joke A tourist trap you should do all to avoid

As I already mentioned, in NYC, any tourist looks for the "Diner experience"... We all want to go to a diner that looks like the ones we see in the movies. But it turns out there are very few of them in the city. So we had to ask around and we were sent to Brooklyn Diner USA. From the outside it is what we expect from a diner. From the inside too, even though it's probably more chic than what we were looking for. We went for brunch and we were told that we didn't need to book in advance. I don't know if they take bookings anyway... but we had to wait in the cold for 30 minutes, which is not so pleasant. Once inside, the service was diligent. Each one of us had a different dish but all of them looked very austere (except maybe the French toasts): the pancakes, for instance, felt really alone in the middle of the plate... Everything was good but nothing was memorable... until we got the check: $120 for 3 dishes for brunch! I know NYC is expensive but this is another level! đ€ I said before the diner looked chic but it still was chaotic and very noisy. At some point, they even turned the music up so that any conversation became impossible. At that point we just asked for the check and left. That was not a pleasant experience... đ„ Quality & taste: 7/10 Quantities: 8/10 Atmosphere: 5/10 Originality: 4/10 Ratio price / quality: 3/10 Service: 7/10 How I felt afterwards: 4/10

An address that had everything from American dinner, coffee served barely seated, reserving if finished. Value for money quite expensive, but we are full New York, putting the restaurant in context it passes. This is a factory, because restaurant known and recognized.

We walked in and were greeted by a polite handsome gentlemen, he sat us right away and made my twins feel special. One ordered a hot chocolate that came with an Italian marshmallow. The other ordered decaf coffee that did not come with a marshmallow. The gentlemenâs that sat us noticed right away and said get her a marshmallow too. They are in heaven and enjoying warming their hands around their mugs sipping their dinks with smiles.

Great atmosphere, lovely staff. Chatted to locals who raved about it. Cozy place for Sunday brunch on a rainy day. Very popular so had to wait 45 mins for a table. ( so Book beforehand)

Richard is a kawaii waiter!) Love from Japan â€ïžđŻđ”đșđž! Amazing place, give me a break, best in NYC, NY, US, EARTH!!!!!

What a great diner - we are visiting from UK and wanted a âproperâ American diner and this was perfect. Been twice and each time was great, staff super friendly and helpful, you donât feel rushed at all

We went here for breakfast because the place we really enjoy is across the street but the line was out the door and we were hungry. It is a very authentic Brooklyn diner and you feel it when you're in there. The service is decent and the food was decent, but very overpriced. I paid over $100 for 2 waffles and the NY breakfast. Double the price for neighboring restaurants, for half the food and a quarter of the quality.

Very typical diner food, in the heart of Manhattan. After arriving in NYC for a short winter get away, my partner and I stopped in at the Brooklyn Diner for a quick lunch. Being vegetarian, we both soon realized there were very limited options on the lunch menu, the grilled cheese options all had meat on them!! We settled for the Veggie Burger with fries. The burger patties seemed home made with very little flavor and a squishy texture, and I am not a fan of the squishy burger. The fried potatoes were very good. Service was excellent and the atmosphere at holiday time is quite entertaining. Would try for breakfast but not for lunch again.

A bit pricier than the category reports. Food was delicious once it arrived. It was not a very busy Wed morning. The eggs Benedict was goodâŠit just should not have taken such a long time. My friend ordered waffles⊠they were out of waffles⊠at 10 AM! Service was not great.

We went for lunch and sat inside in a booth although there was a lovely area outside also. The staff were professional and friendly. The diner was clean and quiet compared to outside. It was a lovely place to have lunch before going into Central Park. Prices were good. My husband ordered the 1/2lb hot dog which tasted nice and smoky. I had the quinoa salad and it was light and ready flavourful. To drink I had a lovely hibiscus iced tea which was great on a hot day when I didnât want any caffeine.

It has nothing to do with Brooklin because it is in front of the carnegie hall, said this is always full of people at all hours, has a well-stocked menu and the dishes are very good and plentiful. Worth it just for the atmosphere

Top case. We went there 2 out of 4 mornings for breakfast. Not only because the food was good (because in other diners it was a bit similar) but because of the super friendly service. We didn't see many friendly people during 5 days in New York, but in this dinner you feel very welcome. Staff also walk around in shirt and costume as before...that has its charms. The interior is also very retro and catapults you back in time. Just go when you're around.

Visited twice for dinner. Amazing service. Very attentive. Good American diner experience. Large portions so couldnât finish it all. Really enjoyed our visits and will come again when we come back to NYC

Good food, great service, and delicious guacamole. Only order the Hot Apple Toddy if youâre a fan of fireball or strong apple-flavoured alcohols.

Wanted to try a retro diner. Best part was the exterior and thatâs where it ended. Once seated we noticed the table was very sticky probably from soda being spilt. ( all they use is wet wipes to clean tables) Food and drink ordered. Was the slowest service in New York. My order was wrong but was in a rush to eat to get out. Burgers and fries were so greasy, probably the worst meals weâve had. We only popped in because my gf birthday and she wanted to experience a proper American diner. Iâd never recommend. My drink never arrived and I had to talk to another member of staff to have it removed. All in all over priced poor quality establishment. LOOK ELSE WERE TO EAT

We visited many eateries in New York and got it wrong⊠this time we got it right!! Fantastic customer service and great authentic eatery in the heart of New York serving superb food for a great price!! Quirky decor! Try the Italian sausages đ„ Very happy

Food was amazing and Rafi provided amazing service. All waiting staff was very kind and service was very fast. This place is 10/10!

Saul was such a sweet and attentive waiter. He really made my day. The food was great! Five stars for the diner and for Saul!

On our last day in New York we decided we definitely needed a traditional US meal at a diner and this ticked all the boxes. The atmosphere and decor were just what we had hoped for, the greeting warm and our server was very attentive. The food arrived quickly and was delicious, especially the burgers and amazing fries. A great find!

We stumbled upon the Brooklyn Diner on our last full day in NYC. We were fortunate to have Ashfar as our server. This guy really cares about his customers and his job. We could hear him interacting with tables near by and he treated everyone with such a caring manner. He genuinely took an interest in his customers. Between the good quality of the food and his excellent customer service, we would easily ask for him in the future. Please tell him that the Palm Springs couple really appreciated his personalized service.

Wanted to sit in a real diner and we saw this on the hop on hop off bus tour so we got off and went in for a cake â WOW â I love cake but I have never had a piece of cake so big â very tasty ! Service was excellent and we would definitely come back if we were in New York again

Had a lovely dinner in here Friendly staff and a great vibe. Massive portions too! I had the chicken burritos which were amazing & my husband had the chicken pepperoni parmigiana which he demolished!

I had the chicken waffles for breakfast from here and they were amazing, definitely the best that I had! The service was average though.

The food was just ok. Over priced for the portions and the food was nothing spectacular. Our server was nothing to write home about either.

Had exceptional service and food both times I ate there. Guy was the host each time and he went over and above to make me feel welcome.

Just needed a snack, ended up being so full which changed our dinner plans. A gorgeous cheesecake (XL size), a chocolate chip cookie (8") and a really gorgeous shake... Highly recommend this diner - just a few streets away from the busy Times square...

Visited for breakfast while we were staying in New York. Staff were welcoming and despite not having booked quickly found us a table. Food was delicious, portions were good and good value. The entire experience was everything I had imaged breakfast in a diner would be - highly recommended

Well if I could give them negative stars I would, this was our second attempt to eat breakfast here. The first day we were 30 minutes early 0730 and they open at 0800. I gave them the benefit of the doubt and went back the next day (today) which started with great promise. We asked for outdoor seating and since we were the first couple to ask they sat us right away. Then more folks followed our lead. The waiters came out saw us and then went to a table with more diners and never came to check on us. I had my coffee cup up to signal that I wanted a cup of Joe. I noticed the spoon was very dirty said something to my wife who offered her spoon I said no when I get my coffee I will ask for a clean spoon. Well they started serving a table that came after us, so I said weâre leaving which is what we did. As we were walking a way a person who I think is the manager walked up and asked me the problem I told me and told him this was the second time we were not given service. He apologized and I said thatâs what reviews are for and he acted as they were use to bad reviews.

A diner located close to Carnegie Hall. As well as the atmosphere, the menu also features hamburgers, Ruben sandwiches and other very American items. We had a cheeseburger and New York cheese (the cake was shared by three people). The staff are friendly and friendly. It is not cheap due to its location, but I recommend it to those who want to enjoy the American atmosphere.

Found this on our final day and really enjoyed the buzz, good service and lovely food. Between us we had the heuvos rancheros, waffles, pancake and the French toast special, which is well recommended. Thought it was good value for NYC

Best pancakes ever! Super friendly staff! We stayed 6 days in New York and went there 3 times for breakfast because it was so good!

Searching for somewhere to have breakfast we came across the Brooklyn Diner just as they were opening. What a find, so good we visited again. Breakfast was delicious, service was excellent so attentive, highly recommended.

The veggie burger is made on site and absolutely delicious! The fries were perfect. The waitstaff were all genuinely friendly. We cannot wait to come back!

We were staying nearby so popped in for an early dinner. Didnât book, but they had space. Decor is great for us tourists, exactly what youâre looking for in a U.S. diner. Much of the seating is on booths with little nameplates of many famous folk around the side. Food was really good, great burger and the chicken with rice was excellent. Staff were good fun. If Iâm back in the area, will definitely return

If youâve eaten at the restaurant on 57th, donât think youâll get the same experience at this location. Right after I sat down, a woman started yelling that she had been waiting 15 minutes for water. Not long after that, a man went up to the counter as his table never got water either. I should have left then. I ordered on the app as no one ever came over. The eggs and pastrami hash were fair. The pastrami was really chewy and fatty. Definitely not worth the $25 plus price. Many better options in the airport.

I had an unfortunate experience with customer service that seemed more focused on profits rather than loyalty from their customers. I usually dine at the Brooklyn Diner and recently visited the day after running in the marathon. I was in a rush to catch a flight. Upon entering the practically deserted restaurant, I encountered rudeness from Guy, the manager, whom I've interacted with in the past. Incredibly, he declined to seat me in an available booth, stating that it was being reserved for larger groups. It's worth mentioning, there were no reservations and the place was almost empty at noon. He offered me two alternatives: to sit at the bar or wait for a smaller booth to open up. Such behavior from a manager, especially to a loyal customer, is disappointing, and it happened in an empty diner. Sadly, I won't be visiting this place again. When I requested the owner's contact info to express my concern, Guy refused to share it and responded harshly.

We wanted to try a typical American Diner. This diner looks the part. To be honest, I donât really know what a typical American diner is like but I loved this place, and so did my family. We were welcomed warmly for brunch and settled into a booth. The menu was just fantastic but I settled for the burrito which was sublime. Kids went for burgers (of course they did!) and my good lady went for French toast. Every meal on the table was just brilliant. When weâre back in NYC, Iâm headed straight back here. Thanks guys!

Having spent a long day travelling to NYC and having done a long walk through Central Park (showing our daughter where my wife and I got married) we were hungry and looking for somewhere to eat. We were heading back to our hotel and stumbled across the Brooklyn Diner, looking like an old style American diner we decided to give it a try. We were offered seats inside or out and opted for in. We were seated quickly in a spacious booth. My wife and daughter visited the restroom. The waiter came around quickly with 3 glasses of ice cold water. Once they were back we ordered and our drinks arrived quickly. My daughter had an amazing Oreo milkshake. The food turned up a short while later. My wife said her fish Tacoâs were amazing and my daughter really enjoyed her burger which I must say looked huge and freshly cooked to order. I had some very tasty buffalo wings. I would most definitely recommend this diner as somewhere to get some great food.

Excellent service Great food Beautiful ambience for a dinner I loved it. I was very impressed Loved the polenta and the marinara sauce

This was a great diner experience. I dropped in for breakfast whilst travelling solo on business. The service was good and the Huevos Rancheros were tasty and exceptionally filling.

First visited this diner in 1995 and on subsequent visits to New York have always had a meal here, never been disappointed. Staff very attentive even though diner was packed. Have to admit I did struggle to finish the dessert.

We stumbled in there after going to the museum of natural history and walking through central park. We thought we were going to a half empty diner like you see in the movie. But apperantly this is a popular restaurant? Anyways the server was quick and the chicken burrito was amazing, one of the best burritos i have ever had.

Fast, friendly, delicious & calorific food! Perfect for a starving traveller, tired after a long journey from London. Exactly what one would imagine an American diner to be. The portions were manageable too (not over the top). Friendly atmosphere, fantastic position near the park etc. We went to several âhigh endâ restaurants but honestly, this was the best experience all things considered.

Nice restaurant, very nice server. Good Hamburger. Small, very fresh rosĂ©. A good time at Time Square, very good eveningâŠ

Visited while staying in New York. Wow. Absolutely wonderful. Menu was superb. Service was first class brilliant. Food was out of this world. What a wonderful place. Fantastic

We just happened upon this place and we were so lucky to have. We went for the New Yorker breakfast and the double stack cinnamon bun pancakes with a side of bacon washed down with black coffee. The eggs sunny side up were done to perfection whilst the italian sausage with its fennel undertones was a great taste, home fries and brioche toast the same washed down with fresh OJ,the pancakes wete thick and fluffy and engulfed most of the plate and delicious. We barely ate the rest of the day as this was sooo filling and very reasonable on the wallet. Service was on point and friendly refilling the coffee in an instant.

Be careful There first try and have you order some chips etc with the story your food will take 20-30 mins which is just a lie to have you order some additional food Ask for some more Sauerkraut for there $22 hot dog and than was charged +3.95 on the bill Manger reverse it after I laught and complained thatâs it sauerkraut! Be careful itâs a tourist target location Food is good but very expensive

We were greeted by Nicole with a big smile, which was such a warm welcome. The service throughout our visit was excellentâand the food was even better! I highly recommend the hot dog bites to startâso tasty and fun. The Reuben sandwich was outstanding: perfectly cooked and packed with flavor. And donât miss the chocolate shakesâthey were rich, delicious, and the portions were very generous. The diner was extremely clean, and every staff member we interacted with was friendly and attentive. Overall, a fantastic experience. Weâll definitely be back!

This is a genuine diner experience with great food and quick service. The breakfast was well presented and tasted great. Price was reasonable, especially considering the location.

Typically American: hamburgers etc... Very noisy. Attractive decor. Fast and professional service. New York price...

This is a unique and amazing dining experience. The food is sunning and the staff are terrific. Breakfast, Lunch or dinner you wonât be disappointed. This is a little gem in the heart of the cityâŠâŠ.,â€ïžNYC âŠâŠâ€ïž Brooklyn Diner

We âsettledâ for this place on our first night in NYC as it was one of the nearest eateries to our accommodation and we were jaded and hungry from a loooong journey. As it turned out, it was the best meal of our trip and really hit the spot! Great, authentic food, buzzy atmosphere and welcoming staff. I could easily have eaten here again. Recommended.

Popped into this diner after a long day shopping in the Big Apple. Was seated but had to wait 20 mins before being served which was slightly irritating, but it was a busy evening so maybe Iâm being a bit too harsh. The food on the other hand draws no complaints. It was delivered to the table piping hot and was absolutely delicious, very generous portions and good value. Not the most expensive place to eat but still quite a lot to pay out, but in NY thereâs not that much difference between what each establishment charges. Pay it a visit, Iâm sure you wonât be disappointed

Nice place, good food spoilt by the overcharge made on our credit card after we had made a cash tipâŠ.made contact, no responseâŠ.

We are here for a late dinner on a rainy night while visiting NYC as it was near our hotel. My husband got a chicken pot pie and it was HUGE and he said it was delicious! Our teenagers both got burgers and fries that were tasty! I got the chicken and waffles, also great!

We saw there was a long queue for Carnigie diner over the road. We were told it was at least an hour's wait, so thought we would try this place jnstead. Food is really good. . Delicious Mexican omelette. Pancakes are incredible. Fluffy and delicious (but cold by the time you get all the bits) Instead of the waffles with bacon and eggs we asked for waffles to be substituted for Pancakes. This wasn't allowed... ended up costing us $18 extra. Can't be that hard and costly- really! Service is frantic. Hard to catch anyone's eye to ask for something.... as mentioned in other reviews. Coffee came at the end of the meal, despite asking for it repeatedly. Waffles appeared and had to chase for maple syrup, while food got cold. Asked for sauces, which never appeared.

Have a nice retro American dinner. The dishes are good but no more. The atmosphere is nice and the staff kind. A little expensive for what it is.

Fabulous service! Waiter (wish I got his name) was excellent! Fast, attentive, delicious! We will go back again. Had the veggie burger and it was Aaaamazing!

Pleasant vibe, efficient staff, good food and handy to our hotel. Fairly standard breakfast fare and reasonable prices. Very king gentleman greeting people on entry.

First evening in New York We are in Times Square Cozy place We ate fish and chips And burgers of course All good, fast service

We were eating here at the end of our 7 day holiday. Like 8 years ago it was very good. Very good diner!!!

Scrambled eggs tasted strange. Polenta cakes not good either. Very over priced. No water refills. Will not return. $99 for 4 people for breakfast.

The food was very good and the service was fast and easy, Rafi (our waiter) was very nice and helpful, such a fun stop, definitely recommend.

We ordered lunch and it took so long for the food to arrive that it was cold and we had to send it back. We ordered a cheeseburger without the bun due to a gluten free diet and it came with a bun. We told the waiter we needed it without the bun and he took it back and 30 seconds later he returned with a âfreshâ burger, âfreshly cooked without the bunâ. My wife is still waiting for her ginger ale.

We loved it. Both for its environment, very quaint, both for the staff, even the food very good! So absolutely recommended.

We had a great experience at Brooklyn Diner. The service was fantasticâreally friendly despite us arriving a bit later due to traffic. The burgers and hot dogs were really tasty and cooked just right. Prices were reasonable too, especially for a group of eight! The only downside was the fish and chips, which were overly saltyâit seemed like there was salt in the batter itself! We had to book our table via email as there wasnât an option for a group of eight on Open Table. Not a big issue, but something to keep in mind if youâre going with a large group.

Excellent dinner at this nice diner. We had a burger which was pricey as is the pastrami Ruben but both sandwiches were well worth the stop. Their cheese cake is extremely large and well with the price. Enjoy a good meal here.

We had breakfast this morning and it was amazing plus coffee refills, juice and water. Loved the whole experience and atmosphere and if we have time on this trip will be returning

Great diner. A reservation is not normally required. I lived in NYC and used to eat her regularly, just got back from a trip after 10years and my kids loved it too. Great burgers, the best fries, good milkshakes and always friendly service. Not the cheapest, but always a reliable choice.

The restaurant has all the charm of classic American diners but with a more refined and modern touch. The menu is full of comfort dishes, generous portions and strong flavors. I tried the burger: really good. The chicken soup is also delicious. The service was fast and friendly, despite the place being quite crowded. Prices slightly above average for a diner, but justified by the quality and the central location. A perfect place for an American breakfast, quick lunch or casual dinner in the heart of Manhattan. To try.

Brooklyn Diner was recommended by our hotel and it was close so we started out with lunch. AMAZING! Guillermo went above and beyond to take care of us - âhis ladies.â The next visit we meet Gen and from then on it was visiting your favorite side of the family and dining like royalty. The food is amazing and the people truly are a gift. If youâre in NY and donât come here, itâs your loss on multiple levels.

The Brooklyn Diner at LaGuardia airport is a disaster. Waited for 45min. No water was offered. When the meal finally came it was just terrible. To get a cup of coffee we had to ask 3 times. It truly needs some management.

We had breakfast here on our last day in NYC, it was fantastic! I had the pastrami hash with an everything bagel! It was 10/10 ⊠the pancake my wife got was amazing, but the strawberries were rock hard so we left them! Service was great too! Highly recommend

Came across this place whilst walking in New York on a Sunday morning. There was a 20min wait for a table so put our names down and went for a quick stroll around the playground in Central Park. On our return we were taken to our table and offered orange juice and coffee whilst checking out the menu. Whilst ordering the waiter misheard my daughters request for hot chocolate, and was given a chocolate milkshake - which she greatly enjoyed! I had the scrambled eggs on toasted bagel, my husband the eggs Benedict, the kids had pancakes and waffles. All big portions! The atmosphere in the diner was great, busy and lively. However at $136, before tip, itâs the most expensive breakfast weâve ever had, and not worth it (my bagel was a little stale).

Very nice diner. Tasty burgers and hot dog which was massive. My boys had a milkshakes and they liked it. I had a small bottle of Budweiser which cost me fortune as well as the whole dinner. However it was nothing different to the prices in Manhattan which I think they get beyond reasonable. But that is what to get if deciding to visit Big Apple. đ

Just down the street from the Carnegie Diner, the Brooklyn Diner is solid but without the tourists and the long waits. You pay a premium due to the location, but he quiet and great service is worth it. My Mexican bowl was solid, and you can even get a glass of wine!

This place is fun and always reliable. Often bustling . Sometimes crammed with anyone who wants to get in. Lots of tourists around Thanksgiving and December NYC events. The service is professional and dedicated. The menu is diverse. The chicken pot pie is great and huge. The chicken soup is outstanding or you could get the matzo ball soup instead. The pastrami is notable but sorry, still no corned beef. This place is a long time favorite with many. You can find out why.

What a place! Amazing staff, really happy and attentive. There is a great buzz about the place, and the food was fantastic, best omelette in New York. Highly highly recommend

The food was good the problem is that we were charged without telling us double portion of unsolicited coffee and orange sodas, at obscene prices

The breakfast was excellent from omelettes to pancakes to Tony Bennettâs French toast. And the service was very gracious, welcoming and efficient. A real find near the famed Carnegie Hall.

Fun place, cool decor. Had eggs Benedict with salmon then pancakes! Wife loved it!!! Will visit again next time we are in New York

Wanted an authentic American diner experience. This place ticked all the boxes. Great food, brilliant atmosphere and the wonderful and service by Yaye made all the difference. If we visit New York again, definitely paying this place a visit.

Excellant service, friendly, welcominh and tge food was great too! Highly reccommend this fantastic place, we throughly enjoyed our visit and dining experience. The staff go above and beyond. They actually have time to speak to you, vompared to other local places that just dhove you yo a rable take your order and thats it it. Not at Brooklyn Diner they actually seem to genuinely care how your day is and make an effort to speak to you. Your Waitresses are such an asset to you, look after thoses gems.
Fabulous staff, food, drinks and atmosphere
Visited while in NYC for my sisters 60th birthday. The last time I was here was 14 years ago and it was as good, if not better this time. We sat at the bar to eat and the staff were really engaging. We had lovely food and so much fun chatting with the team. I mentioned us being in NYC for my sisters birthday and the bar manager, Luna, suprised her with a cake, sparkler and a song. Definitely a place to visit for great food, drinks, staff and atmosphere. Special thanks to Luna and Jack for taking such good care of us. đ
