Best Argentinian Restaurant

By Veronica C |

This is the best Argentinian Restaurant. I have come here for years. My family LOVES this restaurant. We come from Jersey to eat meat and their specialties at Buenos Aires Restaurant. The quality of food is superb. The attention is incredible. The waiters are always polite, keep a smile and respectful, great service!!! I have been in Argentina, and I honestly preferred to eat my "milanesa" at Buenos Aires Restaurant in Manhattan. Excelente Chimichurri too!!! Sigan con el trabajo increíble. Tienen las mejores carnes y especialidades Argentinas en Manhattan. You won't regret it, give this restaurant a try!!!!

Authentic Argentine experience

The skirt steak was over the top good along with the sauteed spinach Service was excellent. The restaurant is in the lower east village, easy to get to by bus.

Brilliant Christmas Eve Meal

By Megan C |

Found this restaurant on TripAdvisor as we fancied a steak whilst in NYC. This place was a gem. Service was brilliant, wine was fab and reasonably priced and the food was fantastic. We had the chorizo and spicy chicken empanadas to start (all of which were amazing), then split a steak and a salad for main. The caprese salad was better than we’ve had in Italian restaurants and the steak was cooked to absolutely perfection. This place is unassuming and you could easily walk past. It was packed and still seating people really late and seemed to have a steady stream of regular and locals. Cannot recommend this restaurant enough.

By XBlazing S |

We ordered skirt steak 32 oz for share the steak was served to its perfection, really tender, juicy and satisfying, You must try the creamed spinach for the side dish! Don't forget to get dessert "panqueque dulce de leche" OMG its was amazing! We had an excellent night and that's why we'll be back soon.

Really good meat restaurant

By PaulMilani |

I had dinner last night at this nice restaurant. I was in the mood for a good steak and picked this location based on the nice reviews. It was packed inside but they offered me an outside table that worked fine. The server and all the staff have been very gentle and helpful, and the food was really good. I chose the big t-bone steak that came exactly as I asked, very flavorful and juicy. Last but not least the check was really reasonable. A place to try!

Amazing ambient

By Lucas B |

Great food, price and Argentinian themed decor. True Argentinian culture and food. Service was great. Highly recommend

Best Steak and Vibe in the City

By Jilly407 |

What a gem! So old New York - small, brick walls… The quality of the meat was so good, I don’t think they even salted it. The mashed potatoes to go with - so light, whipped, fluffy. And the service was incredible. Our waiter anticipated everything begore we even thought of it. So warm and patient. Great spot to impress a date or client! Also so impressed with how immaculate! Hand sanitizer on the tables, not a crumb anywhere, airbpurifiers, wait staff always properly masked.

Spot on

By tonywilson77 |

Looked for a nice steak at a reasonable price in Manhattan and found this place of trip advisor Slightly moody walk from 1st street but once got down a few blocks things are a bit trendier and was lovely little place. Attentive service and steak was amazing. Surroundings were great if a football fan and prices reasonable for New York . Mix of locals and tourists and well worth going off the beaten track Was exactly what we were looking for spot on

Great Food and Experience

Taste of Argentina in the east village.

By Thomas B |

The food here is always delicious. The waiters are super friendly and attentive. Patricio the head waiter is a pro. We love coming here. The homemade sausage is amazing as are the ham and cheese empanadas. The steaks are tender and always cooked to perfection. Try an Argentinian steak for a new experience. One of my favorite places in NYC, and one of Pope Francis’ too. For Sunday brunch they just keep bringing the pitchers of sangria until you say uncle.

“Mariachi is the best host ever”

By Alexander_T1981 |

Fabulous Argentinian meat, cozy atmosphere, amazing hosts. Mariachi is the most welcoming and talkative person that you will ever meet. Say hi from Maria and Alexander. What a place! Great people! Much love and see you soon!

The food was great, wine as

By Giuseppeprivitera96 |

The food was great, wine as well, what is concerning me the most is the service. After feeling a bit of pressure from the waiter (who’s from Ecuador which was at the beginning very nice ) on what to choose (pushing for the expensive stuff) we decide to take one steak and one fixed menu, and already he was not too happy about our choice ( he was pushing for some more entrees. After that all went fine, until we got the dessert who had a long blond hair on it, which was spotted from me and from the waiter who was serving it as well, reason why they replaced it. Therefore we were asked if we wanted a coffee and we said yes, we asked an espresso whom was terrible (I’m from Italy so i don’t expect much generally). We asked for the final check and the espresso was charged extra instead of being on the menu that had it included. I spotted this mistake and I told to the same guy (Ecuadorian one) who came back, complained to his colleague ( when you do the checks first ask me, in Spanish ) and came back with a poker face, without even apologizing giving me the device to pay with the card. For all this above I decided to give, on a 78 $ Check only 2 $ tip as the the tip as to be given according to the service. The waiter left without even saying a word, and once we left we tried to say twice goodbye (me and my girlfriend ) he ignored us both times. Orribile job from this guy who might have lost the meaning of professionalism and education during the beginning and the end of our meal.

Best Argentinian restaurant in new york!!!

By Matias F |

Excellent food and service. The meat we ordered for the table was tender and cooked to perfection, and all of the appetizers (chorizo, morcilla, and mollejas) tasted exactly like they do in Argentina. Excellent service from Patricio and Mauro, very attentive and hospitable.

A Taste of Argentina in the Heart of New York!

By Sherpa25045915960 |

As early as November 2023, I coordinated a reservation for 25 people for a special dinner on January 11th at 8:15 PM, when we welcomed clients from Mexico. From the very first interaction, the service was impeccable, and once again, they exceeded all expectations. Upon arrival, everything was perfectly organized: from the warm welcome to the timely preparation of appetizers, main courses, wines, and beers. The personalized attention we received was extraordinary, which comes as no surprise, as I have been visiting this restaurant for over 10 years. Patricio, fondly known as “Pato,” and his entire team ensured that every detail was taken care of. Their warmth, professionalism, and the fabulous atmosphere of this authentic Argentine restaurant were the perfect combination for an unforgettable evening. Several of my clients have returned with their families during future trips thanks to the remarkable experience they had here. The consistent quality of the food, impeccable service, and unique ambiance make this our go-to spot whenever we’re in New York. I commend the team for their incredible dedication and effort in maintaining such a high level of excellence. Thank you for making us feel at home and for being, without a doubt, a benchmark of Argentine hospitality! 🌟 Recommendation: Don’t miss the Argentine wine and empanadas – they are absolutely spectacular!

Top Three Steak in Manhattan

By Louis T |

When in comes to eating steak in NYC I’m very particular about where to go and BA falls into one of my top three steak restaurants to visit in Manhattan I always bring friends and business associates not ONLY for the food, which is amazing, but also bc of the staff, I make it a point to come at least once a month

Good steak, good service, nice setting

By Michel |

I started with a salad : nothing fancy or special. This restaurant is located off the beaten path, in a street without tourists. It is nicely decorated with Argentinian football emblems, T-shirts. I started with a salad (nothing fancy or special). Then I had an Argentinian filet mignon : it was very good, served with French fries (fresh and home made) and vegetables. The pepercorn sauce was excellent, a must-try ! They also serve good bread (by American standard). The service was nice. Around 80 usd without alcool.

Excellent

By Muzamuza |

I like to go to Buenos Aires because one feels at home, the quality of the food is excellent and the wine menu is so extensive that you can get wines from all over the world. Without a doubt, it's my favorite steakhouse in New York City!

Just What We Wanted

By Dealmaker752 |

Buenos Aires reminded me of the small and friendly steak houses in Buenos Aires, Argentina. The ambience is Argentine and the food is authentic. The skirt steak for 2 was tender and cooked to perfection. Great Malbec wines. Loved the empanadas and sausages.

Best Empanadas and Argentina Food in Town!

By abcstay |

I've been going here since it opens. Everything is great. The menu is huge with lots of great alternatives if you don't want to eat meat. The staff is wonderful and my favorites include the steak, amazing fries and flan! All the empanadas are made fresh in the restaurant. I really enjoy the warm atmosphere that the owner's Alba and Demarco have created.

Good!

By Travelling_Terp27 |

Made a birthday reservation on a Tuesday for the same day. The Argentine meats peaked my attention. We ordered the Argentine platter that brought sausage and steak. Personally, was not a fan of the sausages but that was on me for wanting to try it. The steaks on the other hand were really good and the servers were very attentive and even helped us with charging our phones since we didn’t have our chargers. Definitely still recommend this location for the service alone and if you have meat cravings.

A taste of home in New York.

By Wander56829 |

Amazing lace, vibe and setting! From the moment we walked in it felt like home. The owner greeted us with a great smile and attitude. Then our server was above and beyond. Needless to say the food was over the top! Highly recommended. The fact that you can eat grilled chinchulines in New York is Amazing!

The best steak you will find in NY

By ME7162 |

Last night I went to dinner with a friend. Out of luck I chose this restaurant and it so happened it’s one of her favorites. From beginning to end it was an amazing culinary experience. We shared a “Provoleta” baked Argentinian provolone cheese with oregano. Delicious. There wine selection is amazing. And their steak melts in your mouth. Cooked to perfection (medium rare) and full of flavor. My friend had the dulce de leche dessert which she thoroughly enjoyed. Owner Ismael Alba and his staff are second to none when it comes to customer service and making their guests feel welcome. This will become one of my favorite restaurants in NY!!

Best steakhouse in lower Manhattan

By Dee L |

Amazing food followed by perfect service. All under a beautiful semi vintage decor. Perfect for a Saturday night date, a business meeting on monday or just a chill sunday with a good steak and wine. I was born and raised in the lower east side and bueno Aires is my to go place for all occasions. I have celebrated my birthday 4 years in a row and I cant think of a better place for the next one. Tender steak, amazing wine and drink selection bueno aires is always an A+

Great Food, Great Service, Great Time(s)

By luisae1992 |

I am a big fan of Buenos Aires, I would even call it my favorite restaurant. I come here often, with friends and with family. As an Argentine, I think the food is homey (great meat cuts, very reasonably priced, tasty sides), the ambience is relaxed, and the service is fantastic! I come here for important soccer matches or work dinners (they accommodate large parties pretty easily). While I recommend making a reservation ahead of time, it is not always necessary.

Great food and service!

By Brendan C |

This place is fantastic. The food is excellent, the wine is delicious, and the service can’t be beat. We had Mariachi as our server - he was delightful. The kind of service you tell your friends about. Will definitely return here.

Super tasty Argentine steaks

By Oliver0001 |

Huge selection of tasty Argentine steaks. I ordered one of the smallest ones, and still couldn’t finish it. Great vibes, great service. We ate near the front of the restaurant, but there is another section in the back which I think is alfresco when weather suits.

3 days in Manhattan

By Brother Che |

Buenos Aires steakhouse on east 6th street in down town Manhattan’s East Village is “the joint”! The small cozy Argentine restaurant has been decorated as a tribute to the Argentine national football team and the country’s preeminent clubs River Plate and Boca Juniors....yes Diego Maradona’s picture is found on several of the brick walls! The beef served at BA are imported from Argentina. I took my wife there after finding the place listed on TripAdvisor and ranked very highly. Those reviews were not wrong, the place is excellent. We had the garlic shrimp and the garden salad followed by the Rib eye filleted off the bone and the shrimp and linguine in delicious orangey/red sauce. The ribeye was tender and melted on the tongue and the shrimp was cooked perfectly, the sauce was delicious with a nice garlic/basil taste and steaming hot when placed on the table! I highly recommend Buenos Aries!

THE BEST OF THE BEST!

By Escape16028 |

What an amazing restaurant-from the charming owner to the cordial waiters to the outstanding food so happy my husband suggested BuenosAires. The appetizers- chorizo & empanadas were made to perfection and the steak melted in my mouth plus the desserts (which we had a few) were all delicious. We accompanied the food with a wine we choose from the extensive list of wines from around the world. I have found my home away from home - this is one of the best restaurants I have eaten in. We will be back with our friends to share in the BuenosAires Restaurant experience.

Excellent address

Excellent address: wide choice of meats, tender and tasty, very good quality! Very friendly waiters, authentic setting! I recommend!

Delicious flank steak, spinach empanadas and house salad

By Heather G |

We walked over from 2nd st metro station and we found the restaurant easily on 6th st. It wasn’t full but we were there at 4:30. The flank steak was delicious and juicy. Just make sure to cut it against the grain (perpendicular to the lines). The spinach empanadas were delicious and full of cheese. The house salad was fresh and delicious too. I didn’t like the Priceline hot appetizer at all. The cheese was tough and greasy. All in all a delicious experience.

Nice place, authentic food

By J0perez |

The place has personality, prime quality steaks, the waiter was exceptional. The desert was really good.

Very good

By Linus |

The steaks were extremely tasty and cooked to perfection. Beautiful ambience in a somewhat hidden location. Very good and authentic restaurant

Not my favorite

By Tony Y |

I came here after hearing raving reviews. This is a great little gem in the East Village but I'm not sure I would call it my favorite steak place. You do feel like you're stepping into an Argentinean oasis when you enter. The steaks are cooked to perfect temperature but I feel like they're a bit bland. The chimichurri on the table is heavily needed which I guess could just be the style but I'd like to have my steaks seasoned more. The vegetables appetizers are also a bit weird for my taste. Things look as if they're just placed onto the plate together as separate ingredients. I didn't hate the place. I just wasnt in love with it. I haven't decided if I'll come back although the food was good enough.

Many MEAT choices

By Compass530020 |

My friend Pete wanted MEAT. Found this gem for seven of us. Many choices for all of us since one of us was a vegetarian. Staff nicely joked about it. Very good wine, atmosphere, and empanadas were delicious. Many Thanks to the staff!

Best grass-fed steaks & authentic Argentine food

By Carlotta |

Just got back from Buenos Aires and was looking for authentic Argentine cuisine in NYC. Had an incredible steak dinner (and the meat was grass-fed!!). Will definitely be returning to try their brunch!

Buenos Aires is Not as I remember it

By CountyGent |

Judging by the goodly number of Tuesday evening's "local" diners, Buenos Aires still has its' devotees. As a Spanish-speaking customer, I found the servers to be very pleasant, at least when you could gain their attention. My starter wine was a very good Argentine sauvignon blanc, which arrived on the table concommitantly with ultra crispy artisan-style toast, ...albeit a bit burnt. My "ensalada Tropicale" was excellent even if I had to mix my dressing from the oil and vinegar on the table. Instead of a main-course steak, I ordered two empanadas: One with chopped meat and the other spinach and cheese. My empanadas ($10 each) lacked taste, were a bit oily, and aesthetically looked "blah" on a small plate. After eating half my empanadas, my glass of red wine finially arrived. I had asked if the cabernet was the house wine, and was told it was, without advising me of its' price: The charge for the wine was $14.95, but the wine was not good: Stolid and heavily chauky it was. My meal concluded with a flan. With a 15% tip, my tab with tax came to $71.24. That price for dinner in the East Village is a touch on the high side, considering what I had ordered. If I had ordered a steak, the bill would have reached $100.00 p.p.

Good Food at Reasonable price for NYC

By Charles G |

Very good service, price are affordable for NYC, the wine as well is well price, the food is Argentinian, i was hoping for more fish or seafood option, but they specialize on Argentinian beef which was very tasty

Birthday dinner

By Rich T |

Last night we had an amazing dinner experience at this authentic Argentinean mecca. The food, the service, the atmosphere, and the wine was impeccable...by far the best steak in nyc! The skirt steak is like better in your mouth. The owner Ismael came over to the table to greet us and he was so charming and attentive just like the entire staff. I highly recommend Buenos Aires for everything it offers and for experiencing the closest thing to an actual bodegón from Buenos Aires Argentina...my friends and I loved! 5 ⭐️

Very good

By LifestylebyMaite |

I went there many times, this time I went with my husband and a coworker of him. I didn't like the morcilla. The chinchulines and mollejas were good. My husband friend ordered pasta. We enjoyed the place, the service was good but slow. We will return soon

Wine and meats

By Laura M |

This is the best Argentinian restaurant in NY. I was there with my husband and our son and everything was perfect. The quality of the meat, the service (Mauro was amazing) and the wine list is supreme. N 1 recommendation 👏🏻

Mr Dean

By Dino M |

I went to Buenos Aires restaurant a couple of days ago for long time awaited business meeting. We where a party of 4, my experience @ Buenos Aires was the best. I ordered the T-bone which came with the perfect color that I asked for. The wait was normal and that is a proof of how fresh cut was the meat. They not only serve meat my partner tried the lobster ravioli which was just delicious. But if you are looking for real good authentic argentine meat this is the place hands down! The staff was very prompt and friendly. I am happy for picking this place I enjoyed and will definitely make it 1st option again.

They have some options if you are a vegetarian... I loved the sangria and, of course, the dessert ♥️

Argentina in the Big Apple

By Randy J |

Went for lunch with my mother and a friend born in Argentina. Thought it would be fun to check out the cuisine of Argentina in the Big Apple. So fortunate that I came across Buenos Aires restaurant. From appetizers to dessert, all was sublime. The service was standout, the prices are reasonable, and the ambiance is great. Thank you for a wonderful afternoon!

Beautiful, great service and outstanding steak

By Michelle C |

Me and my husband booked a meal here when we came as tourists from the UK and knew we wanted to try a NY steak away from the hustle and bustle. The location is wonderful and the ambience of this place amazing. The staff were so professional and friendly and the food was cooked and served to perfection. The candlight and background music set the atmosphere perfectly and I cannot praise this place enough. Go and see for yourselves 👌🏼 x

Great Food, Excellent Service, but Disappointing Ambiance and Value

By Sachin K |

The food was delicious, and the service was outstanding. However, the ambiance left much to be desired—the tables were too small, and the space felt dark and gloomy. To make matters worse, my table was right next to the reception desk, with the phone ringing constantly in my ear. Considering the experience, the price felt unreasonably high.

Excellent

By Pato2015 |

Best steakhouse by far, very traditional. I found that buenos aires restaurant cook for Pope Francis, when he came to New York in 2015. Congratulations, well deserved!

Tasty food !!

By Marianne S |

Fantastic Argentinian food!! Fresh, tasty, and good portions! The steak was cooked as requested. The staff was super friendly and accommodating!

A must place to eat while in NYC

By Gus C |

Awesome Atmosphere, A talk-about Dining experience, out of this world Service, fantastic Quality of food and good filling portion sizes. The price is adequate for New York and considering a lot of the ingredients in their dishes are imported from Italy or Argentina. We are Argentinian residing in Toronto and we will be back to Buenos Aires restaurant every time we visit NYC. Gracias - Cheers!!

Buenos Aires

By Johnny Novo |

My eternal quest for finding a good steak in THE East Village is finally over. The Fiona to my Shrek, the Buttercup to my Westley, The Jada to my Will...wait.... First and foremost, I must address the elephant in the room. A "B" rating hangs in the window. I know, I know. But please hear me out, my dear reader. My big bro and I deliberated for about 5 minutes outside about whether we should eat here or not, the big green B looming over us. I was hoping big bro would choose for me, as I am cripplingly indecisive in times like this, and that's why big bro is big bro! However, big bro looks at me dead in the eye and says "it's your call, I'm leaving it up to you." Was this my moment? Had my time finally come? Little bro evolving into big bro? Gohan taking the reigns from Goku to defeat Cell? The fact that I had my heart set on a nice cut of meat mixed with the glowing yelp reviews, I decided to walk through the fire of a B rating. Sometimes you gotta risk it for the biscuit. And I love biscuits. This ended up being the best decision I have made since getting a little $30 hand held vacuum for our place. All our nook and crannies clean now. We sit down and are struck by a beautiful, simple interior. Very cosy ambiance. Literally every Argentinian great graces these walls. So beast. I need to highlight the lukewarm butter that is easily spreadable onto the bread. I am so sick of butter being cold and un-spreadable, even at some high end steakhouses (looking at you, Wolfgangs). We started with beef empanadas that had some sort of egg and I think olives, and lord almighty they were amazing. For mains, I got the 16oz skirt steak, big bro got the Ribeye, and we got the parsely and garlic fries to split. Yo... this skirt steak... oh my god. It came hot thick and juicy, perfectly medium rare just liked I ordered. Juices dripping down as I picked it up with my steak knife and sterling silver fork. Hands down the BEST skirt steak I have had in my entire life, and I would speculate it was more than 16oz. It was a BEHEMOTH. I'm doing a terrible job describing it, but it was ineffable. I attached a video here, or see my social media linked below, hehe haha. As of this moment, this would 100% be my death row meal. Also, we were making a video on this place so I think the owners thought we were bigtime, and they gave us FREE dulce de leche. THIS IS TOP NOTCH SERVICE! I WILL BE BACK ASAP ROCKY! Good meat, good ambiance, good barista, cheap price for this quality

By Tibs F |

Good restaurant with great meat, if you want to do a steak house in New York without kill your wallet, this is the place, bye

Meat lovers paradise

By L C |

We had a family dinner here with six people. The steaks are so good, perfectly prepared. Note the weight of each cut - we ordered 32 oz and one smaller cut for the table. The sides are generally enough for 1-2 people. The garlic fries are especially good. I like the toasted bread they bring for the table. There’s a nice area in the back. The prices are not cheap but the wine prices aren’t bad.

Wonderful

By sharon s |

Came here after recommendations in trip advisor. Looked for great grill place. We were not disappointed. Tried the empenada and home made sausages with peppers. Both excellent. Then shared a great steak, garlic fries and salad. Everything was excellent. The meat was tasty and soft. Price expensive but it is New York. Worth a visit.

The best beef, the best cocktails!

By Pathfinder775953 |

It is the only Argentinean Restaurant that has beef as good or BETTER than in Argentina itself, bit its bartender, the Mariachi ( I asked to meet him), is one of the best in New York. The waiters are super friendly, the meat is AMAZING, they have Pata Negra Spanish Prosciutto... everything is excellent. We went with the whole family but want to go back with my wife on our own for a romantic dinner. Those cocktails!!! Try the Lucy!!!

Argentinian Gem in East Village

By Juan R |

This place is an East Village gem. Best service i’ve had in years. Good price and good food. The 39$ lunch special is sooo worth it. You get a drink, starter, main, dessert and coffeez The server gifted us some Argentinian treats after lunch. 10/10 meal.

Perfect!

We celebrated my husband’s birthday at this restaurant, and it was the best decision ever. The food is absolutely spectacular – hands down the best steak in New York! The customer service was outstanding, and Pato took great care of us, making sure everything was perfect. This is the third time my husband has celebrated his birthday here, and we always leave happy and satisfied. Thank you so much for another unforgettable experience!

Fantastic place. The food is excellent and the service very friendly. Great atmosphere. And most importantly, one of the best steaks in town!

Great food, fair prices and lovely atmosphere

By F Kant |

The restaurant has an authentic and inviting atmosphere. If you are a meat lover, you’ll definitely like this place. Not to worry if you aren’t, their seafood is excellent as well. The staff are friendly. I would definitely recommend this restaurant.

Amazing skirt steak

By mauricio g |

The best skirt steak in town. Amazing empanadas, and grilled provolone to die for. Good service. Wine list should be more affordable.

Good discovery !

By Eva L |

Very nice ! Be careful, however, if you are not French or Spanish, take something to translate the dishes and research on the sites what each meat corresponds to, it is not necessarily intuitive. It's noisy, but not too disturbing, the servers are pleasant and responsive, and the meats are very good.

Absolutely magnificent

By Martin B |

Absolutely magnificent. Best steak i have ever had, and the waiter was amazing. The tip was well deserved, and we will all come here next time we are in New York.

Argentine resaturant indeed

By Gus Pugliesi |

The place is a typical Argentine restaurant indeed, with different decor, located outside the main area of Manhattan, but with easy access by subway. The place is small, so it is important to make a reservation in advance. The menu consists of a selection of meats and we opted for the Chorizo steak. Despite a little confusion when taking the order, the food was very well prepared, with the meat cooked perfectly. The service from the waiter was generally good. Finally, the price of the dishes is a little expensive, but it's worth it for those who want to eat quality Argentine meat.

Good, not great

By Ammous |

For the price of the steak, it's very good. But if you're looking for the best steak of your life, I would suggest you go elsewere. Friendly staff, nice ambience.

Good food and good Cabernet Franc.

By George M |

Good food. Good stuff. A small restaurant, but ok. A lot of wines on the menu list. Found it from trip advisor recommendation.

Superfrinedly service

By seasonedvisitor |

Froms the moment you step in, the service welcomes you and is very friendly and looks after you all of the time. The food is more variable, we had very nice entrees but the meet was not as good as we expected. The chimichurri lacks flavour.

Delicious Argentine food

By Samuelens |

Great food! I spent really and delicious Argentine food including empanadas, milanesa and more! Prices affordable, comfortable place, incredible service and familiar environment. If you have some Argentine history in your life, this is a place you'll love!

one of the best places in New York!!!Service, Food an All is Good There!!! Buenos Aires Restaurant is Our Place in New York!!!

If you like top food with top service, it's a "must visit" restaurant.

By Nuno Fernandes |

Buenos Aires restaurant is just 5 * If you like top food with top service, it's a "must visit" restaurant. Excellent service and diversified menu. Mainly Argentinean meat and specialities. We were attended by Mr Facundo... it was one of the best restaurant employees ever! Friendly, educated, always smiling and very good suggesting entrances, main dishes or desserts. The only thing I disagree with most of ratings, is that this very food restaurant is expensive. I mean, you get a very good service and meal, but prices are hugely high (e.g. average main dishes are around 55USD per person...) However I recommend it and definitely I'll visit it next time in NYC.

I love it here! Great people, efficient service and delicious food! 10/10☺️ Celebrated my birthday here try the panqueques con dulce de leche

Delicious brunch!

By julianyc123 |

Quality and authentic argentine food in such a unique and fun atmosphere. Fabulous steaks and housemade empanadas- great find for the east village!

Very good meat

By Gigi T |

After tasting two excellent empanadas we opted for the mixed grill, truly delicious and tasty. Very friendly and young staff. Fair account for the quality. I would only suggest improving the presentation of the dishes which appears a little poor.

Just ok

By Amanda P |

Steak needed salt, empanada was greasy, service was slow. They did allow us an earlier seating time than our reservation was for which was nice

Mother’s Day

By Brady Anderson |

The food was amazing and Patricio our server was unbelievable. The service was fast and the atmosphere is amazing

Disappointing after the hype

By Martin H |

We went here on our recent trip to New York after experiencing excellent Argentine steak houses around the world and the reviews on trip advisor seemed to back this up. Unfortunately all I can say is that we were all left rather disappointed with the overall dinning experience. The service was okay but nothing special, the prices were higher than most places we visited but most disappointing was the steaks themselves. I had the Argentine boneless ribeye but it had not been left to rest before serving and came out with some juices on the plate and proceeded to fill the entire plate before finishing. The other three dishes were much the same, bleeding out despite being medium to medium rare. Never thought I would say this but go to the Outback restaurant on 32nd street, far better and and much more reasonable prices. Oh and if you have even sold a $5900.00 bottle of red wine then you should be able to back it up with a properly cooked steak.

Authentic, makes me feel right at home

By Mariano |

From the jerseys and the rest of the memorabilia, to the incredible Parrillada, I feel right at home at this restaurant. The staff is top notch and they make every night memorable. Make sure to end your dinner with the panqueques con dulce de leche!!

Amazing food and service and nice atmosphere!

By Sablan |

Went to Buenos Aires for dinner with a friend. The food was truly amazing, great empanadas to start, provoleta was delicious and the meat was fantastic! Even the french fries were home made style and not frozen from a bag. Delicioso! Service was super attentive. I am originally from Buenos Aires, lived in the US for 22 years now. Tried many other placer with Argentinean cuisine but this place is by far the best quality and authentic of all! I also enjoyed looking at all the things that decorate the place that brought so many memories and smiles to my face. Will definitely go back.

Argentina in New York

By Alberto B |

Gardel told me about this place. Obviously Not true but the best beef, argentine, casual experience you can have in NY and in the east village. You will have at your hands a fine collection of wine and an expert mixologist by the name of “Mariachi” to help you out. Start with some empanadas and a caesar salad made from scratch. Choose a meet or a fish or a pasta, you cant go wrong, and close with a panqueque and double espresso. After that ask the staff to recommend a bar close by to finish off the night with your party. Yours truly,

Great food, authentic atmosphere

For meat lovers

By venice1971 |

I visit this restaurant with my doughter, lookin for a good piece of meat and the Ojo de Bife was matching perfectly. Perfect medium grill. Small restaurant, good service. Also the ravioli were good. The french fries a little to soft, but in general a great place for meat lovers!

An Authentic Taste of Argentina in NYC

By Marie A |

Walking into this restaurant is like walking into a friends home in Argentina. The walls are covered with memorabilia, soccer jerseys and bursts with color. The place was packed when I went so we sat in the back atrium which was a hidden treasure. The brunch dishes are substantial in size and flavor and the sangria is stand out (and packs a punch!) - Highly recommend visiting!

Latin food for carnivores

By Pablo M |

It is a good option for carnivores. Very good cuts, my favorite, Ojo de Bife, a tender meat with an exquisite flavor. I recommend it accompanied by sautéed spinach and a glass of Malbec.

Delicious grass-fed steaks and wine!

By Bruce L |

I had read about this restaurant online for being an authentic Argentine experience in NYC, and after living there for a few years, I had to try it. The food was excellent and the wine list super expansive. Also loved the grass fed steak option. Empandas and housemade chorizo were dynamite. This is a great little spot in the east village, highly recommend for dinner.

Great time!!!

By Vivi A |

Mauro, Patricio and Cornelio area great team ! On top of the amazing food and great drinks. Highly recommend for Argentinian cuisine in the lower east side! Thank you for a great Time Buenos Aires Team!!

Quiet birthday dinner

By Grace |

My husband brought me back to Buenos Aires for my birthday. We have dined here before, maybe three times previously. We love the location tucked away on a quiet side street in Alphabet City, East Village. Our server, Patricio, was super helpful and congenial. The service was very attentive but not smothering. We ordered salad, cannelloni pasta and the organic roasted chicken. Usually we enjoy steak at this steakhouse but this time we wanted to try something different. Everything was delicious and the dining room, while almost full, was very intimate and low key. We’ll definitely be back soon.

Best Restaurant in manhattan hands down!!!

By Ramon F |

Buenos Aires is a beautiful steakhouse hidden in L.E.S. The food was terrific; service was exceptional, mariachi makes a drink called “El pricipe,” which was unbelievably good. Also, Patricio’s service was excellent, and I will visit back again when visiting NYC. And of course, Mauro was extremely attentive as well. The whole staff was incredible.

Top Notch Food at Reasonable NYC prices

By epochsee |

Went here with wife because it was well reviewed on trip advisor and we were going to see a play at the Public Theater which was a few blocks away. From the outside it doesn't look like much but once you get inside it has a very cozy atmosphere and a nice vibe. I have to tell you that the owner must be a rabid soccer fan with all the Team Argentina memorabilia on the walls. The second thing that struck me was the wine list which is quite extensive and impressive really exceptional wines at all price levels. Third was the Chimichurri on the table (which they sell) and is homemade. It was really awesome on the bread and you know that your meal will be awesome when the chef pays attention to the details and does it all the right way. Appetizers were the Chorizos Criollos Caseros Salteados which are sausages sliced and sauted in oil with peppers onions and it came out piping hot and was absolutely delicious. We also ordered the Camarones al Ajillo (shrimp in garlic sauce) and it was also piping hot and positively delicious. 6 large shrimp that were extremely fresh they snapped in your mouth when you bit one. Honestly I would just go there and order 5 of these appetizers for a dinner to share with my wife. I've never tasted better shrimp ever. For dinner it was the Porterhouse for two and it was a top prime cut that was cooked to perfection and incredibly flavorful and juicy. Other than a dry aged steak that I have had at other top name steakhouses in the city (Buenos Aires also has a dry aged steak on the menu that I have yet to taste) it was as good as any steak that I have had anywhere. Service was very professional and super friendly. No room for dessert because we had to catch the play, but I highly recommend this restaurant. It is a real find. By the way my wife and I finished two jars of the chimichurri. This dinner for two with 20% tip and drinks but no dessert was $223

Excellent option

By Fer |

We went to Buenos Aires and oh my god! One of the best fillet Mignon I ever ate. Perfectly done. If you are a chimichurri fan you have to try the one they have, simply 5 stars. Highly recommended place. And by the way excellent service from Ismael.

Great ambience, big flavours

By maria |

I love the honest, big flavours: The steak was very tender. I love the massive selection of salads...Sufficient selection of wine. My only concerns are that the menu seems very Italian and the meat is sourced from the USA...Obviously, the menu is made for the American market / guests, not some locals in El Calafate.

I love this place 👌👍🍷🍷🍷🍷🍷

By nick p |

Great place, you’ll be sorry if you didn’t visit it. My wife wants me to take her there every time we have some time off.

Great steaks

By Bianca |

Unique restaurant with cozy atmosphere and amazing steaks. The prices are reasonable and the service excellent. They also have a very good wine list. If we ever go back to New York, we will definitely go here again.

Serious but very charming waiters. The food was incredibly good and the atmosphere was absolutely lovely, even on a Sunday

So cosy place and good food. You won't regret having been here. The trip from Norway to this place is 100% worth it:)

Buenos Aires is a go to spot. The entraña is the best in the city and the service always personable friendly and top notch! We had a great meal. Can’t leave without trying the empanadas!

We went 2/15/20 to this

By Jerrypp |

We went 2/15/20 to this Argentine restaurant in the East Village New York City Is it small place the tables are very close to each other, typical arrangement in small restaurants The staff is great 👍 the food excellent! Naturally the main dish is beef 🥩 and is high quality, tender and cooked to your desired They also serve pasta “amazing “ Deserts are delicious 😋 flan with dulce de leche is a must or anything else with dulce de leche ! Sangria and the wines are great $$$$$ the empanadas are great! Now the negative part is not so bad !The menu is pricy and is a la cart!!!! It was our second time there !

Best Argentinian Restaurant

We have to come here when we visit NYC. Great empanadas. Great steak. And most of all the best Dulce De Leche Panqueque.

Last time I was in NY my husband,

By Leila E marie |

Last time I was in NY my husband, sister and brother-in-law had a terrific dinner here. Being my brother in law is from Argentina he was able to order his favorite authentic dishes and order for us (not implying that it was hard at all to order or understand the menu.) The servers made my night, Very informative and attentive made this place a absolute gem in NYC. I’m excited to write this place once again exceeded expectation. Both times I have had a great experience being that I am in the industry I am critical on certain aspects with service and they held up to their end. If you get a chance don’t miss this great Argentinian restaurant you won’t regret it I wish I would have asked my servers name so I could have given him a shout out.

Good food and service

By Suhrob S |

The food is quite good. Atmosphere is quite nice. Good service. Tried burata, and stake. Both where excellent. The wine selection is quite pricy. Most red wines in 150-300$ range. Found only 2 below $100. Tried 1 it was very good

Argentinian meat

By Flor P |

A friend recommended me this place because they had Argentine meat, I ordered Argentine Ribeye steak and at the time of the first bite OMG!!! it was very tasty and tender, delicious.!!! Accompany this meat with Malbec wine and finally panqueque dulce de leche with ice cream (I love it). The service was very good and the place is so comfortable that you feel at home, thanks for everything, I'll be back! Thanks Buenos Aires!

Quality has declined, service by hostess atrocious and prices have gone up better places for steak

By Lilly E |

The food was mediocre, and we have been here many times before, so we were shocked at the decline in quality and the increase in price. We were seated by the door, and it was freezing, so I kindly asked the hostess to move our table. Yes, there was one available. She said, "Give me a moment," then moved another group instead. There was no acknowledgment of our request or a sorry. When we left, I said why did you not follow through on our request, and she said, "Well they were closer to the door and followed up with close the door on your way out." My family was appalled we also noted on our reservation it was for a birthday, but there was no acknowledgment of that during dinner. So disappointed......in NYC, there are many better places for steak at better or similar prices and better attitude by the hostess. The wait staff was professional but the hostess should find another job.

Good Argentinian I think

By Andres A |

Havnt tried much of Argentenian food. They have a huge menu. take sometime to cruise and decide. Empanadas was excellent. 10 OZ Chorizo argentina was perfect with mash. And the Caramel custard was outstanding

Absolutely one of the best!

By Jacob |

I love meat and rarely will I say a restaurant is perfect, but this was a perfect A! We had two kinds of pastry to start, the churiso was divine! Two steaks - ribeye and skirt - both incredible to perfection! A glass of Malbec and... I can't wait to come back! Thanks!!

NYC has a lot of choices for eating out- Buenos Aires will never disappoint

By mambru |

In a city with thousands of places to eat, few are worth the trouble and cost of eating out. Even in NYC, having a great dining experience is not obvious. Buenos Aires delivers on all expectations- every time. I've been eating here since it opened and it's always been excellent. Worth every penny and always mindful of the obligation to give customers great value for their money. he only thing that has changed is now too many people know about it and reservations are tougher to get. If it's an Argentine Pope's top choice in NYC- you should find out why.

Simply amazing! As close as you can get to Buenos Aires.

By Alan P |

What a beautiful place. I’m Argentinian, and I can assure that this is the closest you can get to an Argentine asado. The chorizos are 100% just as flavorful as the ones in Argentina. The meat is amazing! Chinchulines, morcillas and mollejas simply amazing. I’d go back and recommend this place to friends. Do not waste your time going to fake places such as “la esquina criolla, el gauchito, chivito d’oro and those fake places. Their meat has been cooked for hours before making it to your plate. Nothing is fresh in those places. This place will serve you fresh meat and everything. Empanadas: Not impressed, but not bad. Just a little overpriced.

A corner of Buenos Aires in NY

By Giorgio B |

Great Argentine restaurant in New York. We had some delicious empanadas, meat (of course) and a pitcher of Sangria. The place is quite crowded and noisy, but it is part of the South American climate. Reasonable prices for a city like NY.

Best argentinian steaks

By Adis |

While our stay in NYC we wanted to eat some steaks and we found Buenos Aires. A lot of football souvenirs inside with jerseys and autographed photohraphs. The steak itself was amazing with some onions and peppers. I miss it already and whenever I am again in New York I am absolutely coming.

A MEATY EXPERIENCE!!!!

By Alberto O |

If you want to eat grass-fed Argentinian beef cooked to perfection outside Argentina, this is your place!..The "bife de chorizo" with "salsa criolla" is unforgettable and the thin-dough, oven-cooked spinach "empanadas" an inevitable appetizer selection. I could easily find a great Malbec from their rich and affordable wine list. Top service and joyous atmosphere conjure the rest of this joint's magic!

Delicious Argentinian meat, great drinks and friendly people.

By newidad |

We started going to this wondrous place over ten years ago, but only for special occasions, and were there recently for yet another memorable meal. Firstly the people are so friendly, and helpful, and you are made to feel very welcome in a lively place. To start we were delighted by the pisco sours. The meats, as usual, were delicious with a preference for the buttery skirt steak. Finally, deserts with lots of Dulce de leche were fantasmagorical. We left most happily in the rain!

Love this place!

By Aisha K |

I come here once a week because I work in the area. By far hands down my go to place. Food is sooo awesome! Save space for desert!!! The crepes are so worth it! Besides all this...the staff is my favorite 😘 Just adorbs xoxo

Best Tasting Grass Fed Steak in NYC!

By julianyc123 |

I've been going to Buenos Aires Restaurant for years because the food is absolutely delicious and the quality is on another level. I was also super excited to see that they are now serving antibiotic & hormone free grass fed steak from Argentina which is amazing. The meat is super juicy and the empanadas are also a must order! This is my go-to spot for an authentic steak dinner - and the owner will make you feel like you're at home!

I Love this place!

By corne017 |

I always come to this restaurant with my family, their food is delicious and the service excellent, Thank you very much Buenos Aires

One stop shop for Argentinean

By Wenceslao G |

One stop shop for Argentinean steak & cuisine. Cozy restaurant + great meat. Skirt steak is a must have.

Best steak in NYC

By Gabriel S |

Went there last night with my girlfriend and friends. Probably the best empanada and Chorizo Steak I ever had. Service is perfect, Mauro - our waiter, was really thoughtful. We finished with the panqueca de dulce de leche which was remarkable. Absolutely the best steakhouse in NYC.

Best entraña in town!

By metapa |

We´re treated like royals by its owner and chef. The atmosphere was calid and the beef was delicious, a real argentinian dinner surrounded by the pendants of Boca Juniors and River Plate. We´re planning to visit Buenos Aires in May, it´s a must.

Buenos Aires.....true food excellence

By ElPinoleroLeoC |

Went here recently for a special occasion and was satisfied from the moment I entered. Very congenial atmosphere in this restaurant. Mauro the manager and Alex our server went above and beyond to ensure our dining experience was exceptional. The appetizers, drinks and succulent meat entrees were wonderful. I had been here once before and the only thing I regret was not returning here sooner. I strongly recommend this restaurant for those who appreciate finely prepared meat entrees paired with delicious appetizers and sides and nice finely crafted beverages. The skirt steak is prepared nicely and every bite was succulent. I especially encourage local first timers or those visiting NYC to come here and enjoy the Argentine specialties, great hospitality and warm cozy atmosphere. You will not be disappointed.

Amazing amazing place.

By Pedro d |

This is by far the best Argentine restaurant in New York. The food is amazing (the meat is at least as good as the one in Buenos Aires, Argentina), the atmosphere is very cozy yet elegant, and best of all the people who manage the restaurant (everything from the waiters to the managers to the owner) are very polite, helpful and accommodating. I celebrated my birthday with around 30 people yesterday and Mauro and the rest of the team ensured we had an amazing time, that the food was perfect and that we did not lack drinks through the night. I'll be back very soon!

Truly phenomenal food + service (shout out Mariachi!)

By Patrick M |

Truly the best atmosphere and service we’ve had in so long. Have lived in the east village for years and moving out in 2 months…bittersweet to say the least we are just discovering it now! If we reconsider, it will be 100% be because of this place. Mariachi was our server and made us feel instantly at home. The food was delicious: best empanada I’ve ever had, phenomenal steak and succulent chicken breast. We said we were too full for dessert but didn’t stop Mariachi from given us us some delicious flan anyway on the house…we left even more full! Make sure to ask him about his signature cocktail as well! This is the first time I’ve ever felt compelled to write a review of a restaurant on here but if just one person reads this and goes then it will be worth it as this place is a genuine gem.

Excellent restaurant

By Jorge H |

We went to lunch several times, excellent Argentine food, very well done, quick attention, very friendly, good prices, good location, highly recommended when visiting Neu York

Top notch Argentinean steakhouse

By tms215 |

This place is excellent on all kinds of levels! The steaks will melt in your mouth, the empanadas will melt in your mouth, the seafood is seasoned to perfection. Extensive wine list can get a little pricey but there are lots of choices at all levels. Service is solid and unobtrusive. It is on a quiet street so you can relax as long as you want. This is a place you will take visitors for a taste of Argentina and New York City

An experience not just a meal

By HiddenGem22 |

I’ve been to this restaurant around half a dozen times and enjoyed it everytime. The place is so unique in how it’s decorated and very quaint and cosy. I feel like it’s a brilliant winter restaurant, but recently just found out they have an indoor terrace out back which I will try one time. Last night we did the porterhouse for 2 and a bottle of Malbec. Their house salad to go along with it is great too. I’ve had a few different meals here including a sea bass which was really tasty. Now for the main tip. GET THE DULCE DE LECHE CREPES with ice cream! Mmmmmm I went them right now. I know a few Argentinians who claim this restaurant passes as a traditional Argentinian restaurant. I often post about other NYC places #travelling_secret_diner

I recommended buenos aires

We are in new York on vacation and we needed to eat a good piece of meat, thank god we found buenos aires on Tripadvisor, everything was excellent and the price Is reasonable with the quality they offer,we Will return before leaving the city

A great find

By Navigate792882 |

Fantastic food and service and we even went back on our last night. Will definitely return when next in NYC

Great steak

By Jamie B |

Family trip from the UK, this was our firest experience of a NY Steak House. Yes, it was pretty good, but I can't say we were blown away. I wouldn't say the service was grumpy, but I wouldn't describe it as cheerful either, stern maybe. Decor was pleasantly rustic. But I have to say, the Steak was excellent, which I guess is the main thing

Great grilled meats, amazing wine list!

By Alberto O |

Went back recently to "Buenos Aires restaurant" for dinner with friends. We had a wonderful dinner....! The new menu has several sophisticated options apart from their regular "meat fare". This time I ordered the T-Bone steak, which was cooked to perfection. I could not believe that I could get that quality meat outside Argentina! It took me a while to go through the amazingly long and rich wine list, where I could find the best "cabernet sauvignons" and "malbecs" from Argentina, France, Spain and Italy. The restaurant has now opened their "terraza" even in winter, an excellent idea if you want to distance yourself from the upfront noise. The food and the wines are so good that it's not surprising that the place is packed every night, be it a week day or a weekend. This restaurant is still the king of the Argentine parrillada!!!!! Don't miss it!!!

Great food

By Joe M |

I am from Argentina, felt homesick and wanted to eat some Argentinian food, OMG, the food was one of the best I had, the service was first class and the wine , as suppose to be , great !! We enjoy every minute !

WOW, WOW, WOW It Is just FANTASTIC

By jmbamd2017 |

I'm very exited to review this restaurant; I was there 2 days ago August the 5th. When I entered at the restaurant, it looks to me just like any other regular home base Argentinian restaurant. A lot of soccer base decoration, very unique pieces from Buenos Aires, that is home for me, I lived there for 30 years before I relocate to America. I experience most of the TOP restaurants in Buenos Aires with excellent quality in their menu. The service was very good and Friendly; I love it, made me feel at home. When we order the food they did ask me If I prefer Argentinian meat or USDA, that toke me off guard, I choose Argentinian since I was there with my big family, to make things more Authentic. They brought the orders, try the first bite and it was just "HEAVEN" OH MY GOD, I had never experience in my life a steak to this quality, Just blow my mind, I was in a food trance, texture, flavors, WOW, their rib eye was fabulous. I tried the order orders my family pick and everything was to the same level. Please, if you like Steak Top Of The World Quality, do not miss this restaurant.

Very good Argentinian in Nyc

Best butcher shop!

By juliatlevi |

Have been coming here for years for authentic Argentine food and now can actually bring home these quality grass fed meats and housemade chorizo to cook at home with their new Butcher Shop takeaway - so fun to prepare a parilla at home! All of the meats are top quality from Argentina. If you like to grill you must try this!

A Steak Lovers Paradise

By M Y |

On the last day of my visit with my daughter who lives in East Village, we decided to head to Buenos Aires for an authentic Argentina steak dinner to cap off our time together. Having had no lunch that day, we decided to dine early at 5:00 pm to ensure we were able to get a table before the place got very busy. Upon our arrival, we were greeted most graciously. At this early time, it was understandable to find only a few other diners; however, as we progress through our meal, the restaurant started to fill up quite quickly. For a starter, my daughter and I shared the Ensalada de la Casa (House Salad); we each had the Bife de Chorizo Argentino 10oz - Boneless Loin Strip; accompanied by Papas a la Provenzal; Homemade French fries with garlic and parsley. For dessert, we shared the Panqueque de Dulce de Leche Caramel Crepe. The steak was absolutely delicious and mouth-watering. The service was excellent and what a wonderful way to top off my time in New York.

I had the best birthday ever that I ever celebrated!!!!

By Hernan V |

The food was delicious, the service was excellent and the place makes me feel like I'm at home. I't is an amazing place!!!!

Good meat.

By Thierry C |

For a good steak in New York, I can recommend the Buenos Aires restaurant but be careful, it's New York. The prices are still high, less than in some steakhouses in Manhattan, but it will be difficult to get away with a bill of less than US$100. The meat is very good and well cooked, however it is not offered with any accompaniments. Everything is extra. There isn't even a small tomato or salad leaf on your plate to add a little color... the portion of fries is still US$11. For the rest, the room is nice. Very Argentinian. Also nice atmosphere. Friendly service.

Great place

Amazing Food

My family of six had an amazing meal at this restaurant on New Year’s Day. As soon as we walked in, the atmosphere was great. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We all had steak. The quality of the meat was excellent, the best we’ve ever tasted. I would definitely recommend this restaurant.

WOW

By Gernot K |

Such a great Steak!! The Staff was authentic and very friendly. The athmosphere was great and we had a good time. Many thanks.

Good empanadas, but...

By vacances |

Good empanadas, good chimichurri, but tasteless pasta (pesto sauce looked like milky soup) and old bread they try to revive by heating it up. The service is decent. They also need to clean the outdoor seating area which was so filthy there was flies everywhere. Not very appetizing when one is trying to enjoy a meal.

Amazing experience and first-rate care
