So good

By Katie P |

Came here for dinner before a show and were really impressed. I had the chicken sandwich and it was epic. Portions are far too big, but I'd highly recommend eating here. Staff were lovely too.

Finish and Get Out

By Lloyd A |

We went for breakfast. The meal was excellent. The service was very good also. After we ate, my wife went to use the restroom as I was drinking a cup of coffee. I took out my phone when she left the table and the manager immediately came over and said we should leave because they needed the table. I found that pretty offensive.

Good food

By floss16 |

Great food, good portions and very reasonably priced! Food very well presented. Very busy speaks for itself! Very attentive staff. Clean and tidy

Great place

By Klyscc55 |

Great place for breakfast. Lots of options for all meal times actually. We went back three days in a row. Was nice and close to our hotel. But all food we had was great. Staff very friendly. Nice atmosphere

Great breakfast

By Simon J |

Came in today for breakfast. Just about got seated no problem as very busy (10:15am) but service was great from Alice and the food was lovely. I had Avocado Toast, the wife had an omelette. Served very quickly after order and the taste was fantastic

Not a Deli

By Samuel S |

Terrible food very dirty Don’t eat in this place It is not a Deli in any way as you can find wings, nachos and Rubén sandwich AVOID THIS PLACE

NOT ALLERGY FRIENDLY

By Jaime B |

The waitress and manager had no idea how to handle people with food allergies. They would not get the chef to help us out. Ended up walking out!

AMAZING!

By FarAway53731084812 |

I went with my beautiful girlfriend to this establishment to get some burgers and pancakes. It was super busy, yet our food came out in just 5 minutes! When you get here, ask for Paul (our server) because he was the absolute best!

The old deli it is not

By Dan de Padua |

It's a perfectly nice American restaurant with huge breakfasts and very efficient, if somewhat cold, waitstaff only a long block from Times Square. I'd return for the comfort, but not if I wanted some character.

Mind blowing breakfast

By David K |

Excellent food, every category of food you wish for, way too big the portions, great service. Make sure you are starving before you enter. Another spot i will revisit.

Loved it.

By Deb & Jake |

This place... is amazing. I had the best Reuben I've ever had from here - I could eat it every day. The atmosphere is great, too, with friendly staff and an upbeat vibe.

tasty

By scbeaches |

super crowded, cold inside, waited for a while even with a reservation. food was fine and quick- we felt a bit rushed. convenient location in theatre district.

unable to make simple eggs

By jeannettedd |

This place was horrible; I asked for 3 eggs over medium and they came out well done; the chef insisted they were over medium and wouldn’t make them over. A manager came over and said they can make the eggs over easy for me. I never been to a diner who doesn’t know how to make eggs “over medium” . It’s not rocket science…:….🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️

Excellent food at a great location for Broadway shows.

By Cheri D |

Great food and service. We had no wait and were seated quickly, but this was lunch. The wait staff were very good and friendly. The menu was I had a delicious Vegan Meatball Sandwich while my husband enjoyed a Chicken Sandwich. Prices were a little higher, but good for NYC. The diner was very clean and seating was spacious. We would return.

Normal Sized Portions in an Exaggerated City

By Daniel B |

We wanted to sit down for a bite after a show, and the Carnegie diner was close by. From the outside it looked pleasant and cozy. Inside it was warm snd the staff were pleasant. We shared a warm Pastrami sandwich, which was served with a nice salad. What can I say? Very tasty and fairly (for NY) priced.

We went back 2 more times!

By Mike n' Tiff D |

Service was exceptional all 3 times we went. Food was top notch! Portions were huge. The pancakes are so moist, chocolate layered cake is decadent, hamburgers and sandwiches were huge and full of flavor. Vegan options were delicious and plentiful.

Very good food, very popular, arrive early, tables quite close together

By JoeNathan9249 |

Very good food, very busy in the morning so go early (we arrived about 8:35 on a Sunday and were seated immediately. Host told us in 20 minutes it would be packed. He was right - by 9:00 there was a waiting line of about 15 people. We had a vegy omlette - huge and quite good, and a pastrami sandwich - also quite good. We also had a brownie chocolate shake that was very unexpected (I imagined there would be brownie bits in the shake. Instead there was a whole brownie on top of the glass (please see pick below). Service was very fast and pleasant. Tables are very close to each other...don't expect a lot of privacy here. There is a happy hum here... it is not quite, but definitely recommended if you are ok with what is written above.

Reservation worthless

By JadeNAd |

We had a reservation for brunch on 22/12/2024, however upon arrival it was clear that the reservation was worthless as we were still expected to wait in line to be seated with people who had walked in with no reservation. No one was being turned away. After 5 minutes, we decided it wasn’t worth the wait as it was a chaotic atmosphere, no apology from the staff and so many people crowded in that you were practically on top of people eating their food. We left and went to the Central Park cafe around the corner which did lovely food in a nice calm atmosphere. I cannot rate the food at Carnegie as we didn’t stay, but I am very disappointed in the poor service. Everywhere is busy this time of year, but you do expect reservations to take priority over walk ins and for management to have an idea of how many walk ins they can allow in for service.

Great food, experience and prices!!

By mkaswell |

This place was so good! The food, the service, and experience. You can feel the hustle and bustle of NY. We were 15 minutes late for our reservation but they managed to move us to the line inside that moved very quickly as opposed to the line outside for people that did not make reservations. (They probably waited an hour or more.) The staff was friendly, the food came out quick, and the waitress was very helpful to get me an ice cream to go with an extra scoop of vanilla ice cream. I ordered the Californian and my husband ordered the triple decker turkey. We felt super welcomed and we will definitely highly recommend this place to family and friends. The prices were reasonable for it to be NY.

Dear without infamy or praise

By Valentina G |

Very expensive for a slow service the watered-down chocolate and the heavy and creamy New York cheese cake Tourist to avoid

Stumbled across this place whilst out for breakfast.

By bella |

Seated quickly. Food really nice. Staff very friendly. They were filming whilst we were here, not sure what for but the interaction was good. Would return if we have time.

Not the relaxed breakfast we were seeking!

By Maydodo |

We had booked a table as it had good reviews but when I tried to speak to the maitre d' to let him know we had a reservation, he was very rude and ushered me back to the line outside where my children were waiting. I was shocked to be treated in that way and almost walked away but we had gone there especially. After a few minutes, and then realising I had said I had a reservation, he then backtracked and did brusquely apologise, saying it was because it was busy. No excuse for bring rude! Our waitress was lovely however, the maitre d' kept coming to check whether we had finished and we were brought the check before I had even finished my drink. As we stood up to leave, two waiters barged past my daughters. I was still getting up and they cleared the table around our belongings still on the table and I couldn't even get out from the table. Rude again! I know it was busy but we had been there less than 35 minutes in total. Won't ever go back there but I'm sure they won't care, as long as they have people queuing outside. For info, it cost 95 dollars inc the 20% tip for three breakfasts. Food was good and had the experience been different, I would have rated the food highly, but don't go there if you are looking for a relaxed breakfast!

Last Dinner Before Home

By Mic C |

We came here for our last dinner before going home. We got a table no problem for all 14 of us, although it was really busy. Service was great, food was great. Should have had food here more often. It was recommended to us by the concierge at our hotel, and he was spot on. Would definitely recommend this please give it a try.

Terrific, energetic restaurant

By Steven L |

I had dinner here before going to see the ghastly Perfect Crime off-Broadway. I had Chicken Noodle Soup which was superb. The atmosphere was busy and enjoyable. Great service and a wonderful place for dinner!

Breakfast at Carnegie’s

By Esther K |

Brilliant breakfast on a rainy morning.. we had to queue for some minutes before getting seated, staff are friendly and cautious, didn’t have to wait too long for the food, large portions and the kids described the hot chocolate as divine. Will definitely return.

Absolutely to try

By Titti B |

Beautiful place where you can try the typical breakfast with pancakes but with many excellent options even savory (also excellent menu for lunch and dinner). We always booked and the wait was short, be careful if you book because there is more than one venue in NY, very very nice staff, our friends had booked in their other venue by mistake but managed to find them an accommodation despite the crowding! We tried several dishes both sweet and savory, all great, beware that in particular the portions of the pancakes are giant so it is worth splitting

BOOM!

By Auetta276 |

It's the sound we heard after finishing (me, someone else couldn't) the meal ... An explosion of taste and abundance! Very good ingredients, very rich dishes, exceptional quality price!!! Too bad we couldn't find space x the dessert, they looked really amazing! Reservations are recommended. Staff and owner very kind and nice, congratulations!!!!

Great address in Manhattan

By Céline T |

I came to NYC in May/June of this year with a friend and we had breakfast and dinner there every day. We had a feast. The staff is friendly, excellent and the shares are huge! But they offer the possibility to take away what we haven't eaten. Really perfect!

Must try!

By Ellie T |

This was the best meal we had whilst in NYC! We had tried places that were good but were a little disappointing but this nailed it! The staff are so friendly, the service is fast and the food was fresh and delicious. The menu is big and they serve breakfast all day (the pancakes are great), so you are spoilt for choice and there is something for everyone on the menu. There’s lots of fresh cake options too! Had to go back again! Loved it!

Among the best midtown diners

By pchrist0 |

Typical all American diner catering to its lo local clientele and walk-by tourists. Fast, efficient and courteous service !!! Always busy, so go early to avoid the queue

Pretty good and frenzied

By Ron R |

Be aware of a couple of things. Even if you make a reservation you will have to line up. You will be given priority. Secondly, the menu online is not exactly the same. This place is busy and abundantly NYC. The service is pretty good and hardworking. However, it is a bit of a struggle to receive everything included in your order. We ordered Symphony Breakfast 3.5/5 and Avocado Toast 3.5/5

Great breakfast!

By Jenny G |

We had breakfast at the Carnegie and thoroughly enjoyed it. There was loads of choice and not just on normal breakfast things. We didn’t have any but the cakes and paste looked lovely. The freshly squeezed orange juice was delicious and even though it was really busy, the service was excellent.

Great atmosphere and friendly staff

By Yorgos Qin |

The atmosphere was cozy and welcoming, and the team ensured the night was truly memorable. It was a perfect experience from beginning to end!

Well worth the visit

By David P |

Just a wonderful and typical New York diner - food well cooked and plentiful especially the pancakes ( to die for ! ) - service top class - not too expensive

Unreasonable wait times!

By Jennifer E |

We checked in 10 minutes before our reservation. 20 minutes after the reservation time we were still the 3rd party on the list to be seated! It was hot and noisy and crowded and my daughter thought she was going to faint so we left. Staff were completely unapologetic.

Cold wiener

By _Salt_Lyfe |

Made a reservation via Open Table for 5 PM on a Saturday. We ordered. Food came out quick by another server who didn’t take our order. But they never brought out my wife’s chili dog. Even after the manager passed our table twice & didn’t ask about her not having food in front of her. Finally our waitress noticed and said she’d check into it. It was the brought out a minute later by our waitress. The waitress never came back after that. My wife wanted to tell her the hot dog was cold. But never got the chance. I also wanted to mention that I was supposed to get coleslaw with my meal, but wasn’t able to. It wasn’t until they took our plates away that my wife was able to tell our waitress that the hotdog was cold. She said she’d say something, but you could tell she was reluctant about wanting to do so. We then sat longer than it took us to get our food. Not anyone asking us if we wanted dessert or at least bring us the check. After a while and feeling awkward just sitting there, I had to waive down my waitress and ask for the check. The check was brought out, and nothing was done about my wife’s chili dog coming out late and cold. To top it off, the next day I received an email from Open Table reprimanding me for not attending my reservation, or at the very least, canceling it.

Give it a try - you won't be disappointed.

By Wanderer632487 |

We spotted this place whilst put earlier this week and decided to give it a try for breakfast as the Tripadvisor reviews were good. And they were right. Great location for us and the breakfast was the best so far although be prepared; the portions are large!! Pancakes were soft and fluffy. Bacon was crispy and full of flavour and the poached egg on avocado and toast looked amazing.

Great value and convenient restaurant across from Carnegie Hall

By reeldoc |

I just went to Carnegie Hall Diner restaurant yesterday and had dinner. we were two couples. Because of unexpected circumstances I had not made a reservation at this restaurant. Felipe, the host, greeted us and told us not to worry, he would get us a table. In less than 2 minutes he got us a table. After we ordered we found the food to be very delicious and on time. We had pastrami reuben with french fries and salad for $24 and pre-theater dinner that included soup or salad and main dish (chicken in our case) for $30. Any dessert could be added to the pre-theater dinner for $5, so we order it. The waiter was very attentive and checked once in awhile if we needed anything. The host, Felipe, was great getting us the table and made us feel at home. We enjoyed the dinner and went across the street after to a beautiful concert at Carnegie Hall. One last piece of advice if making online reservations: make sure you are choosing this restaurant located in 205 West 57th Street (wit 7th Avenue), since there are a few others with the same name in Manhattan and NJ. I would highly recommend this convenient and welcoming restaurant to anybody who is in the area.

Delicious cakes!

By Noni59 |

Visited twice during our stay. Very accommodating despite being busy. Cheerful staff, good food especially the choice of cakes! Liked the business and hustle bustle.

By Simon J |

The food wasn't bad, however the staff were so keen to get us off of our table that they took our mugs. We ordered bottomless coffee (nearly 5 dollars each). I had to ask for more coffee - and a new mug each, after they took our cups away along with our plates.

YUMMY

By slpsomm |

We really love this place. We went twice during this trip. Salads are amazing. Breakfast was great, too. Food is really good!

Classic diner

By Enne |

Just a short walk from Central Park, this busy diner gave us a chance to sample the typical American breakfast/brunch twice. There is a short line to be reckoned with, rather smooth in our case, but the wait has paid off. Great pancakes, as well as milkshake. Abundant and to try on an empty stomach.

Nothing Special

By bigjoe950 |

Was the sandwich worth the 25 minute wait? Nah. Good help, decent food, and a fairly reasonable NYC price earns 3/5 stars.

Horrible experience ruined good food

By John U |

The food was really very good. However there was a booth full of four kids who shout and screamed and dashed about. They absolutely were or of control. Their parents did nothing. The management did nothing. Whe I complained that the kids had ruined my meal, he strenuously defended them. He father would have taken his belt to him if he had behaved that way! The reaction of f the manager was more upsetting than Han the kids but it really ruined the meal

A Must-Visit Diner in NYC

By Marie A |

Oversized portions, friendly service and the perfect location right off a train stop and diagnally across from Carnegie Hall - what more could you want - Lots of booths and a full bar are added bonuses here. I love the Californian here, which is a massive grilled chicken sandwich with avocado, cheese and of course fries on the side. It's the perfect pre-theater or pre-carnegie hall stop.

Exceptional Service Thanks to an Outstanding Manager

By Manos Sim |

The food is excellent, the staff is extremely polite, and above all, the manager, Filippos from Colombia, stands out for his professionalism. I visited the location at 205 W 57th St, New York, NY 10019, United States.

Busy place make a reservation if you can

By advcards |

Had the pastrami sandwich it was really good. Didn’t quite look like the picture but still a fair amount of Parami fun place, but they really pack in there.

Not worth it

By Vera S |

We really looked forward to visit this place. Nice atmosphere and service but food was not mediocre, it was terrible. My burger plate had cold bun and fries, while my mom and daughter’s pasta dishes had no taste, like they came from a box mixed with canned sauce. I was expecting quality pasta and sauce at a highly rated place. To my server’s respect, he discounted our dinner.

Good Price quality ratio

By Ingrid V |

Quick Service. Good food but especially very (too) hearty. Children's menu and coloring pages. Good Price quality ratio.

Avoid if you only have an hour for lunch

By Steve M |

Not a great experience, asking for a well done burger really threw them, this was clearly a challenge which was surprising as the menu clearly highlighted burgers could arrive under cooked. Surely staff, tiny tables with huge menus the wait time for food was criminal, as was the queue for the not so clean bathrooms. Definitely a place to avoid

A good breakfast

By Melanie M |

We visited on Tuesday morning this week as we had ready good reviews online. We were shown a table straight away, it was very busy. We then noticed a tv crew were filming, it was Pix11 News, interviewing staff and customers. I think this slowed service down, we had to wait a while to order coffee and juice, and then waited longer to order our food. The couple next to us had their food delivered to them by the news presenter and he spoke to them, he then turned and spoke to me, this just shows how crazy New York is! I chose the Apple Pie Pancakes and my husband had the Tropical Punch waffle. The Pancakes were ridiculously big, 4 huge, thick fluffy Pancakes the size of a dinner plate! I couldn't eat it all, despite how tasty they were, even my husband couldn't finish them. Both of our breakfasts were very nice, I just felt so guilty about wasting food but the Pancakes were just too big. Overall, one of our best breakfasts in NY, but we picked the wrong day with the news crew being there.

Excelente!!

By David M |

We had a fantastic breakfast here! The food and service were great. I ordered eggs benedict and sent them back because the eggs were overcooked. I had my new plate in less than three minutes and it was fantastic. There is a positive vibe there with the staff who work kindly and quickly. The prices and food are better than other similar places nearby.

Good for breakfast

By Rosie S |

Had breakfast twice here on our trip to New York. Really friendly and food was excellent- liked the French toast and coffee best.

Near Central Park

By Angi |

Our breakfast landed in NY. A classic American Diner... it's great and the pancakes very good. Recommended.

Good "canteen"

By dominique v |

The kitchen is good and very hearty. The manager and the staff very nice. Service is fast. We made this restaurant our "evening canteen" for our stay in New York. If we were to criticize, it would be noise but it is really to criticize.

GREAT food and GENEROUS portions!

By jar811 |

A very typical busy NYC deli! We had bagels with lox and cream cheese......very generous portions. This is not the place to go for a quiet, intimate meal but for good food and a typical NYC experience, you can't beat it. This was our first time here but we'll definitely be back.

Very good

By Valentina G |

Very cozy place and really great food. We tasted pastrami and desserts, a cuddle!!!! Highly recommended

New Carnegie brand but same great deli

By mshbnyehud |

Incredible pastrami sandwich, with a couple of very small side accompaniments. Half pound of meat, absolutely incredible rye bread. Tables are packed in like sardines, so come prepared for that. Line at lunch looks daunting but you won't wait more than 10 minutes. Reservation maybe saves you 3 - 4 minutes. Very nice service considering how tight the tables are. All in all a very good experience.

Iconic diner.

By D D |

This place is an icon. It did not disappoint from the time we walked in and when the food came so quickly. The server was also very attentive and respectful. Very typical diner food including pastrami on rye is available.

Convenient location after concerts

By Grace Annette C Y |

We went there only once after a piano recital at Carnegie Hall. It was very busy. Food and services were okay. It was a bit overpriced for what it served and how food and beverages were served.

Show up HUNGRY

By 43beckya |

EXCELLENT! Just like the original Carnegie Deli! Our server was wonderful and very helpful with our dietary restrictions. Got the 3 sandwich sampler and it was HUGE! Dessert was amazing! An absolute MUST if you are going to Manhattan! And to top it off I saw a major celebrity when we were leaving!

Champagne Lunch in New York

By Nick Malz |

What a wonderful way to start off your wife birthday in New York. Enjoying a great lunch with Champagne 🥂 The welcome service and food were amazing. DO NOT FORGET the “24” layer chocolate cake.

A VERY RUDE GIRL BARTENDER NAMED SYDNEY

By Oksana I |

I had a terrible experience with a bartender named Sydney! It was at 250 west 50 street. This girl was so rude! She threw the menu at me, then didn't take my order for a long time. When I asked her, can you take my order? She ignored me, I asked her name to write her a review. She gave me a completely different name. She said her name was Nicole. It turned out she lied only when the manager came up. It turned out Sydney gave the name of another server. I won't even write about how she kept rolling her eyes. I don't understand why I go to work in such a mood and behave so unprofessionally at work. I still don't understand why there is such an attitude. But I really ask the management to pay attention to how the staff works there. I was very disappointed... I used to eat there often. But I will never go back there today.

Easy Pitstop

By Drutt6 |

Literally the best pancakes I’ve ever had! Service was great and quick. I did spy what other people were having and it all looked good with equally large portions. Would return!

Great spot for breakfast

By AberdeenKev83 |

We had an amazing breakfast the food was very good and the service was very attentive. The server was very helpful in suggesting 1 portion of pancakes for 2 people as the portions were very generous

Just. So. Noisy.

By gazooby |

This is a barn of a restaurant, with one large seating area consisting of mostly round tables and some limited booths. There are two entrances and it is hard to escape the cold air blowing in every time the door opens. The noise level was painful. We had trouble holding a conversation. The wait staff shouted out names of people on the reservation list at the top of their lungs. We had a reservation and arrived on time but were told to wait until a table conforming exactly to our number was available. Walk-ins were seated before us. Most of my party liked their meals. I thought my Eggs Benedict were just okay — eggs were good, but hash browns were undercooked. Service was efficient and friendly.

Carthage

By Gerardo Montervino |

The oval with a wide range, from breakfast to brunch to lunch to dinner. I have to tell the truth the best thing is gigantic I tried was the pancake The rest revisable

Good breakfast

By john |

Called in for a late breakfast. You can reserve a table online. Large menu also. I had eggs and family had pancakes and French toast, both come with cream and fruit. My eggs with potatoes, one slice of toast and a side salad. Mine was okay, there’s better but the portions are huge, I would recommend sharing a packages or French toast and getting something smaller also which is what some People did. I would go again.

Great food. Attentive staff

By Departure796183 |

Great food. You won't finish your meal. Really friendly staff. Booths are very comfy. Just down from times square. We had the pancakes which were huge, fresh and very tasty.

Dessert in TIme

By Isabel W |

The dessert itself was pretty typical — pancakes with banana and Nutella. They were good, but nothing out of the ordinary or especially memorable. What really made the experience enjoyable was the bar staff, who were engaging, friendly, and welcoming. We originally waited a long time for a table and eventually decided to sit at the bar, which turned out to be a great choice. While the food was standard, the service at the bar definitely elevated the overall experience.they also have a large lunch/ food menu we do not explore but might be worth it!

A gem of a find

By Jo Morse |

Wow! what a find folks, what a find. These guys have it all, great food, breakie, lunch, dinner, cake, great coffee, great kids menus and choices and good price point. They are also a great team, very friendly and soooo fast! The food is great, really nice and all their eggs are organic. We had food there every day when were in NY and it really set us up for the day. We loved the team and the manager was so kind and even gave us some lovely vanilla and choc cake for the trip home, I can't wait to return.

Great lunch spot

By Rhian L |

Great spot for a lunch stop! Amazingly generous portions - I think my nachos were a starter but I had them as a main thankfully - huge! My friend had a sandwich and chips and salad - again, massive plateful! Also had a lovely cocktail. Nice vibe in there, very busy, service was good.

Good stop for breakfast

By Louise |

Went here for breakfast, we for there quite early so it was relatively empty but was starting to fill up as we was leaving. My husband and the country omelette which he said was very nice, it came with hash brown (which he was disappointed to learn English hash brown and American ones are diffrent) and I had the waffle with bacon and walnuts on, this was also nice but was huge. The portions are very generous. I couldn’t finish my breakfast and I think they should offer half portions for people with small appetites. There is a lot of choice for breakfast so a good call if you are in the area

A tasty meal

By Hayley |

A nice diner to go to for a decent meal in Midtown Manhattan. Burger was delicious as well as the pancakes but the portions are huge (as expected). Very friendly staff and quick service. Would recommend for a meal out or even a quick lunch!

Great place to brunch

By Noémie T. |

Wow, what a choice and quality of dishes for brunch! We took several things to share, it was really great!

Great food! Good atmosphere!

By Cathy S |

We walked in for a late lunch at 2:00 on a Saturday and were seated immediately. Staff was super friendly and atmosphere was lively. I had the pastrami on rye with parmesean fries with truffle oil and garlic aioli sauce. It was delicious! My daughter had one of the burgers. She is a burger connoisseur! She said it was great!

Good choice near Central Park!

By NDM |

We had breakfast yesterday with family, it's a typical American breakfast. Local We lined up for 15 min with a previous booking, understandable for the season. Food Hearty dishes with good quality price Burger Pankekes French bread Sanwich pastrami. Service is fast and attentive. It is a good option if you are in the area and looking for something fast and uncomplicated.

Our favourite.

By Kristie H |

As soon as we get off the plane from London this is where we are heading for breakfast. The fluffiest pancakes, crispy hash browns, Frank Sinatra playing on the radio and friendly staff. If want quintessential New York this is the place.

Hazelnut Croissant Alone is Worth the Visit

By Denise V |

My friend and I popped in to scope out the restaurant for future dining--wasn't planning on eating, but I saw the most delicious looking pastries, that I grabbed a hazelnut croissant to share with my husband later. OMGosh! Absolutely divine! So yummy, I needed to write a review. I'd like to also mention the friendly staff, who special packed my goodie for the train ride. Great vibe all around.

Delicious food

By Natalie H |

Stopped by on the way to Central Park and it didn’t disappoint. Waitress was really nice and helpful with the menu. Pastrami sandwich was delicious

Good breakfast. Good price.

By Francesco A |

We ate a portion of pancakes that was huge and very good and an avocado toast also very good and paid about 70 dollars. Good prices, great staff, nice typical American location.

IDEALE PER UN BUON BRUNCH

By Alessio_Tiberio |

Famous local within walking distance of Central Park, ideal for breakfast or brunch. Typical American menu, friendly staff and prompt service.

Extra burger ❤️

By Pascale B |

Super welcome from Christiana and Nico 🥰 Super generous plate the pastrami burger was a delight, great choice of dessert I recommend the cheese cake 😋 Spot to remember!

Give it a miss!

By Gail C |

Wouldn’t recommend. The food that arrived wasn’t what we ordered and what we did eat was underwhelming, potatoe hash was v. greasy. Coffee bitter. Server was lovely. People flock because of the name/history, not the food I’d suggest.

Good food, terrible service

By Linda R |

My son and I had dinner there last night. We saw our waiter one time when he took the order. Never came back to check ANYTHING. We had to ask a passing server for more water. When ready to leave had to go to the hostess desk to request bill. That being said, the food was good bit the experience was not. Would have to think about ever returning.

Delicious food and great service

By Iva M |

Great service, especially waiter Sorin who remembered our food preferences and allergies. During the period of 7 days that we went there, he treated us like a family and we felt like we were one of them. Honestly, I don't know which is better the service or the food. Greeting from Croatia! 🤗

Great brekkie!

By Neil B |

Great service and great food. Be warned - servings are BIG! Friendly, quick and lovely place for brekkie! Great start for a day in Central Park.

Have breakfast here and you'll feel like an American

By Erika Domeniconi |

Great place to have breakfast, there are people but they are very quick to make you sit and Service. Wide choice of dishes on the menu. The staff was very friendly.

Typical American - delicious!

By Janine |

Super delicious, typical American food in huge portions. The pancakes, the French toast and the avocado toast were mega! Table reservation is advantageous, saving you longer waiting times. 1 point deduction because it is super full and loud.

Pastrami Rueben did not disappoint

By K.R. Dufour |

Pastrami Rueben Sandwich did not disappoint. Staff is friendly and environment is fun. Sweet potato fries were too soft but good.

Very welcoming, tasty food!

By Vicki Jayne |

This was such a wonderful place to have breakfast. The omelette and hash brown was absolutely superb. The staff were so lovely too, very welcoming and attentive. I was never with a top up of tea/hot water. Very clean, very tasty and a very friendly place. So glad I went there, and if I ever visit again, I'll most definitely be back. Thank you!

Nice diner experience with good food and service

By potaracke |

Just up the street from our hotel and very handy! It has a real NYC feel to it as a restaurant and deli type food. Service was good and friendly. I had half chicken that was good.....not really really good but good. The fries were good and crisp. My partner had the corned beef sandwich with salad and he was happy with it. I almost had it but, I can only eat so much!! I would have liked the sandwich!!!

Great lunch option.

We had a great lunch at the Carnegie Diner & Cafe. Food was very good and the service was great. Recommended place to take a break and have a good meal.

Beautiful

Beautiful place a staff on top and amazing value for money I recommend go there with your eyes closed

Huge portions and make a booking

By Debbie G |

Portions are massive so if you can’t eat big plates share! We booked and glad we did as the queue was out the door! Food is ok well priced not amazing but then wasn’t expecting it to be. The surrounding needs a refurb! Only a couple of toilets so waited a while. Waiter was fab. The place is close to Central Park so we went on the horse and carriage ride after that.

Great little diner off Central Park

By bex0811 |

Great little diner just a cpl streets down from Central Park, stopped off for a quick lunch and it was happy hour so an added bonus with wine/cocktails 6.95 dollars. Opted for the lobster roll with Parmesan fries, really delicious and filling and a pastrami sandwich - big portions! Cakes looked really good, worth a visit.

Great food

By princesspenny |

Made a reservation for our arrival day in NYC for dinner. Unlike the UK, the reservation meant we got the first table for 2 which came up after our reservation time. As such, we waited 20 minutes or so. Not a problem as adults - could be tricky if you have hungry kids. However the non-reservation queue was huge. Food was fabulous. Portions were too big but that was expected. Friendly servers. Highly recommend. Best food near Times Square.

Clean and professional. Friendly staff

This place is amazing and great good . Very professional services. Highly recommend . Great service people are very polite

Disappointingly small sandwiches

By orrdin |

A Ruben sandwich evokes a sandwich with a large mass of meat and I can’t express my disappointment to have received a Ruben as skinny as an inch with a tiny amount of meat for the hefty price of $25. Yes it was “wagyu pastrami” but there should have been proper disclosure about the greatly reduced size and there wasn’t. So all I can do is warn others.

Good lunch

By Andrews Family of 4 |

We stopped for lunch during our couples weekend away during February 2025. The service was nothing special, but I would suggest making a reservation as it gets really busy. Even with the reservation, we still waited 20 minutes. The food was very good, we split the Peters special and was enough for the both of us.

Local in front of the theater. Magnificent experience

By Patrizia M |

Great place, very American with generous and delicious dishes. Professional, kind and always ready to meet your needs. I left a piece of ❤️

Perfect

By James R |

Banging food and great atmosphere. We had our first dinner here when we landed. It was recommended by our taxi driver. I had the beyond meat burger and it was delicious

Delicious post-show dining

By Hannah P |

We were just looking for somewhere to eat after a show and we found this place, and it was SO GOOD! Some delicious omelets and fresh garlic spinach. Really hit the spot. We'll go back.

Good food and good service at reasonable prices

By John W |

The food selection and portion sizes are good; you won't go away hungry. The service is quick and courteous and the prices are reasonable. It can get quite crowded though and the seating is tight so try to go there slightly off peak.

Great time

By Célia L |

Great dinner with a very American atmosphere. The service is impeccable and the dishes delicious and very hearty. Perfect for a 100% American breakfast!

love the place

By Helen I |

I love this place and the food was great. I highly recommend it to family and friends. The staff are friendly and nice. Krystal was very helpful for the whole time me and my family dine in. great value and the location and atmosphere is calming..

Great Diner!

By Gaynor M |

Have eaten here a few times, and both the food service is great. Breakfast times are manic. However, evenings have a lovely, relaxed atmosphere. Would recommend both breakfast and dinner.

Delicious food

By Marie H |

Delicious and hearty breakfast with great, fast service. There was a line out the door on arrival but it moved quickly and we were seated quickly. Our food came very fast, despite being busy. The portions were large and we saved room for a little New York cheesecake and then they found out it was my daughter’s birthday and they had her pick a cupcake and sang to her. Excellent experience.

Great burgers at a friendly place

By Lasvegas34 |

Couldn’t get into Sarabeths so went to the Carnegie deli, really friendly host who got us a table after 20 min wait for a table as it was very busy. Huge portions, definitely recommend sharing. We all had burgers and fries and were lush! Breakfasts looked amazing as well. Very efficient service.

Great value

By Molly D |

Great value. Excellent service, very good food. Visited twice, one for breakfast and once for lunch. The breakfasts were huge and very good. The pastrami sandwich is big enough to split.

Massive Portions

By 75barbar |

We visited for a mouthful meal, it was loud and loud but there was no room to wait and it was neat when served, the pastry and half chicken portions were like giants, and the hot dogs were beautiful. Come on if possible, as the portions are giant, the crowded ragmen bathrooms are clean.

All right.

By Boris |

Great restaurant, I went after Jon Jones visited the restaurant. I will go back, the staff is friendly, the food is good quality and quantity. I recommend.

Takeaway too long

By 01ALEX07 |

Want a New York roll, very big and very good but it is not possible to cash in and wait more than a quarter of an hour to have it especially as they were 3 behind the counter and not many people. We had to tell them and then we got it right away... I don’t know what they expected...

The Regular Stop in New York

By Heston Y |

Out of all the restaurants we visited while in New York, this was the only one we went to multiple times. We came here because the food is good, the location was conveniently located near our hotel, and the service was great. I had an omelette the first day and the fruit and yogurt the next 2 days. The server recognized us each day and was so personable. She did a great job and I wish I could remember her name because I would love to recognize her on this platform. I would recommend this place for breakfast.

It says above

By andré 67 |

We're being consumed. Reservation 1 month before. First queue outside despite the reservation and 2nd queue inside to make customers wait = 1 hour waiting standing despite a resa in good form. It’s a certain America

Great location and great food.

By Cassel12 |

Wanted to try this diner based on other reviews and because it was across the street from the Gershwin Theater. Another plus is that they take reservations and I had a tight window before the show. Awesome food and staff. One of the best Rubens I’ve had in a long time. Good portions and reasonable prices for New York. Well worth the visit.

Comfort Food Convenient to "The Hall"

By MyKittiesDad |

We had tickets across the street at Carnegie Hall. We weren't looking for "fancy", just a simple meal. Carnegie Deli was a great option. Tables were tight together, but it felt convivial. We ended up having a nice conversation with the couple at next table. Place was loud or fun, depending on your preference. We did not have reservations and got seated right away. Caveat: this was a Monday night. We ordered breakfast for dinner and weren't disappointed. We even came back after the concert for some cheesecake. It wasn't a "destination meal", but we were satisfied with no complaints.

Fantastic breakfast

By Daniel C |

The blueberry pancakes were delicious, the best we’ve ever had. They were so good that we didn’t need the maple syrup provided with them. The diner staff are so friendly, warm and very attentive. Many thanks - we will be back!

Amazing pastrami…sad, skinny, and overcooked chicken! 🐥

By jpcullen |

Three of us had reservations at 5:30 pm before a show on a Saturday evening. We were promptly seated and ordered our drinks. The menu is pretty extensive with lots to choose from. One of our party was undecided, but when he saw how good the chicken sandwich was that the table next to us got, he was sold. We had the buffalo chicken wings to start - amazing! Two main course arrived next and the chicken sandwich looked sad and pitiful…like the starving malnourished cousin of the chicken At the next table. In fact it was two small thin pieces of chicken that were overcooked and dry. I had to wait another 10 - q5 Mins for my mains - the pastrami Reuben!! While it took much longer than expected, it was worth the wait. The chicken sandwich was inedible and the server agreed and took it off the menu and I ended up having to sharing my pastrami Reuben - which was ok because it was a generous portion. Friendly service, although we did say the host ask people who had finished eating to leave as they needed the table!

Family NY breakfast

By Mark G |

The food came instantly and the service was amazing. Staff were very kind. Kids loved BIG ASS COOKIES - available for take out or sit in.

Great burgers with gf bun

By The Gluten Free Explorer |

Perfect for any with gluten allergies, I had the Central Park burger with a gf bun and the orange cheesecake which is gf. Friendly staff, quick service and the margaritas are good too.

Don't Miss this place!!

By Myfamilyvaca1 |

We went here for brunch and it looked very busy inside with some people standing. We peaked in the doors and a gentleman asked how many people. We have 5 in our family. He immediately said he will get us in, he said please stand in the back of the line and he will follow up with us and give us updates. And that's what he did. He came back to let us know we were #4 in line and they are moving quickly. Again at #3, then #2 as he said they were clearing final tables. We waited about 15 mintes, but the attention that he cared about the people in line meant the world to us as we had a busy day of sightseeing planned. On top of this was outstanding food and an attentive waitress. We couldn't ask for anything more and kudos to the guy at the door! I highly recommend a visit! You won't be disappointed.

Good food, good service.

By David K |

Lots of options to choose from. Most of it looked really good. I had half a pastrami and half corned beef sandwich. It was huge. The fries weee also good. My wife had chicken soup and then we shared a piece of chocolate cake. All of it was good. The staff were good and everyone was hustling.

Good pancakes and decent price!

By Lainie L |

I work in the area but didn't know about Carnegie until I was looking for a place that served breakfast all day. I was craving pancakes so I came straight here after a few hours at MoMA. The staff was polite and my pancakes and seasoned fries was ready in just a few minutes. The pancakes were good, not awesome, and a hearty portion. The fries were pretty well seasoned. I was going to get dessert but the pancakes were like dessert and I was SO full. Besides, I work in the neighborhood so I can stop by anytime. I'm looking at you 24 chocolate layer cake!

Carnegie oh Carnegie!!!

By DianaOnHoliday |

Fast paced energetic establishment with good food and lively atmosphere Large groups small group couples serviced at tables Servers always on the go and very knowledgeable. Will return for the food and atmosphere!

Dont waste your time going here! food was undercooked, dirty kitchen/ bathrooms, waste staff was so rude!

By Joe R |

I would not waste your time here. Its overcrowded, wait staff was rude , food gross- not cooked ! We waited about 30 minutes to sit ( expected in NYC) my burger I ordered well done/ no pink came our red in the center and the roll was soggy from the punk burger juices, the sweet potato fries were cold and not cooked too ! My daughter said her caesar salad had a funny taste to the dressing and when her order of sweet potato fries came out 15 mins after all our other food , i asked to have them taken off the bill and got yelled at by the waitress that delivered them. It was an awful meal i would not waste your time eating here! Bathrooms and kitchen were so dirty and gross too! 2 Thumbs down review.

Worth a visit

By Kev M |

Visited 13/12/24 with family . Booked via open table . The menu is quite large and caters for gluten free and vegetarian. Service is fast and efficient and food is good. The portion sizes are large and for a family of four with drinks about 115£ .. overall good location and good place

Breakfast of champions!

By Helen M |

Visited the Carnegie on Greely Square for breakfast and had to join a queue as it was so popular. We were soon sat at the bar which felt like a very “American” thing to do. Service was quick and friendly with great menus to choose from. I went with chicken and waffles, that came with dried cranberries, maple syrup, whipped cream, and chicken gravy. Sounds weird doesn’t it? But it was absolutely amazing. Each bite tasted different and it was like having two courses in one meal. It was also so huge I couldn’t eat more than half of it. The vanilla coffee I had with it was also delicious and was perfect for a chilly morning in NYC. Defo one to return to when I next get to New York!

Great Pancakes, Omelet & Prices

By Patty B |

So glad we stopped here for breakfast. Another very busy place with good pancakes and omelets. A 3 stack of pancakes was $15.95 that's way better than the Brooklyn Diner I reviewed. We were seated at a nice booth quickly and ordered an omelet, pancakes and coffee. The pancakes were fabulous!. They have a big variety and it seems to be their most popular breakfast item. We were seated where they came out of the kitchen and I have never seen so many orders of pancakes. I like mine plain with just syrup and butter. They all are served with whipped cream and powdered sugar and a dish of fruit on the side. All you can hear is the whipped cream coming out of the can being put on the pancakes. I got worried that mine might not escape it so I verified with our server that I would just get butter and syrup. It was and they came as ordered, so delicious and priced right. My husband had an omelet with potatoes and toast. That comes with a big salad on the plate that he asked to be omitted. We were very pleased and would recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a good breakfast, especially pancakes. Our server was friendly and efficient and saw me struggling with the plastic butter containers. She brought me a dish of whipped butter so keep that in mind. Maybe you have to ask for it.

Great Diner and Café

By SuiGeneris |

We went there twice, once for takeaway and once sitting down to try their pancake. When you sit down, water is included and you will find the menage at the table. We had the classic pancake, really giant, we ate in two people and a cappuccino, we paid $23

Tasty Breakfast, Definitely Reserve Ahead

By D. Spahr |

We made an online reservation for a table at Carnegie Diner & Cafe, but still had to wait at least 15–20 minutes in line. Even so, a reservation is definitely necessary due to how busy it gets. The breakfast was very delicious and arrived quickly once we were seated. I would have appreciated a bit more maple syrup for my pancakes, as the amount didn’t quite match the portion. Overall, we enjoyed our visit and I would come back again!

If you are not hungry, do not go there ...

By Christoph B |

... most unfriendly place I have experienced for a long time. Came early morning, very few guests. Nice window tables available, but they put me in the darkest and ugliest place available. Had to negoitate myself to a window table (6-seater), promised to eat quickly so as not to unduly occupy space. All other 6-seaters were occupied by no more than 2 guests each. The needed quite some time to take my order. I felt unwelcome. Food ist good, but: Never again.

Over the top kindness

By Stephanie R |

From the host, server and food runners everyone was so friendly and accommodating! Their kindness in NYC was a breath of fresh air. I will return again. And I had pancakes and bacon that were perfect.

Visited three times on this NYC trip

By Dann H |

Great late night spot. Always clean and comfortable. Great menu. Friendly staff. A reliable go to. This time I also visited for breakfast and the menu and portions were great and staff also great. Nice to have a place in crazy New York that just feels like a home with attentive service. Team even remembered me from a previous visit and remembered my beverage order. That kind of thing matters a lot in New York.

Great bring; busy place

By KrisSteve06 |

Great breakfast, quick service. There for brunch and the line moved quickly. The servers were all courteous and good-humored, even with the huge amount of people there. I had the classic eggs Benedict and it was very good.

Delicious Pastrami!

By ChrisMVSS |

We wanted to go to Katz’s but it was too far and two costly by cab. So, we tried this- we had never been to Carnegie Deli despite multiple trips to NYC. The pastrami was outstanding. The service was great. Happy hour drinks were priced right (we went for a late lunch/early dinner after a theater matinee around 4 PM which was a perfect time in terms of not being crowded). We didn’t have room for dessert, but the desserts we looked wonderful in the case.

Perfect New York Food Stop!

By AFDEA76 |

Great food and service. This was a perfect stop, following our adventure walking around the streets and subways of New York. The sandwiches were delicious with plentiful portions. I recommend the Reuben sandwich. Also huge cookies!

Good service, great food and - for New York - reasonably priced.

By Paul C |

My wife and two adult daughters booked in advance - just as well as the place was packed. Nick was very welcoming and both the food and service were excellent .

Awesome

By Amanda H |

The food is amazing, the service is first class, great atmosphere and the food is great, very reasonable price too, definitely worth a visit.

Avoid if you have over 6 people

By Matt T |

Family of 6 they auto add the 20% so service will be dismal. Waited 20 min for a side of dressing. Order was wrong took 25 min to get it fixed. They never checked in re fills the food is decent but you can find equal and even better with good service. The reason one eats out is for service and quality and it’s NYC, you don’t have to pick one or the other. I wouldn’t come here with a party of 6 or more.

Original NYC deli experience

By Nanci S |

I was fortunate to visit the original Carnegie Deli...twice in one day! We had an amazing breakfast and went back after the theatre for apres snacks. Great service, vibrant location in Columbus Circle. Amazing Diner food!

Reasonable place before a show. not assoc with C Deli. Big portions

By roxygirl100 |

Good place for a bite before a broad way show this is NOT part of Carnegie Deli which i didnt think to check. initially was diasapointed missed a matzah ball soup. the lentil soup was good. the kale cesar salad was good. not great. big portions. happy hour pricing for wine was great

Great atmosphere and excellent food!

By jaxmilmom |

Great atmosphere and delicious food! We were initially seated at a table literally crammed up against another family. A manager actually noticed our situation and moved us to a booth. Excellent attention to detail. My daughter ordered the best homemade mac n cheese. The guacamole was really good too as well as the chilli. French fries were remarkable though! We were fighting over them.

Carnegie diner at Times Square— worth it!

By Delia P |

Penny from Greece made us feel welcome. The food was plentiful and excellent value. Pastrami burgers and hot dogs, pistachio croissants — you couldn’t ask for more variety and style. And Penny never stints on attention and service no matter how late it gets.

Do not miss it!

By elena c |

Βεβαίως! Να η αγγλική μετάφραση του review σας, σε φυσικό ύφος για Google/Tripadvisor/Yelp: --- ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ We visited Carnegie after reading the excellent reviews, and it truly exceeded our expectations. The portions were generous, the prices very fair for New York standards, and the quality of the ingredients outstanding. We come from Greece, where food quality is very important to us, and we were impressed by the emphasis on fresh, top-quality products. Our daughter loved it so much that we returned two more times. The coffee was excellent, the avocado toast outstanding, the pastrami delicious with unparalleled quality, and the freshly squeezed orange juice was the perfect addition. The staff was friendly and attentive, making us feel completely at home. We also feel especially proud knowing that Carnegie belongs to a Greek who came to America many years ago and created something so remarkable. Congratulations on your wonderful restaurant! We will definitely visit again on our next trip – we felt the care and warmth of a family.

Breakfast quick stop

By A M |

Went to cafe for breakfast bagel and coffee. Great bagel and coffee was delicious. Good value served by really lovely people.

Great breakfast

By Heather M |

Make a reservation! And even if you do expect to wait a lil bit it moves fast! The two gentlemen at the counter are MASTERS at managing the crowd. Our waitress was so sweet and he good was great. We had breakfast. Two omelets, two eggs Benedict and 1 got the egg stramie sandwich; that was DELISH. For such a busy place they have it so well managed and everyone remains calm and pleasant. Great experience.

Bad cheesecake!

By Robert E |

New York cheesecake tasted off. Actually quite bad. Brought this to the attention of our server. She said she'd look into it and never did. Avoid this trap.

Our unexpected trip to NYC

By Kimber R |

Our waiter, Sorin was amazing. Very friendly and funny. The food was excellent and incredibly fast. Very pleasant atmosphere. We liked it so much we're thinking about doing dinner there.

Absolutely love this place

By PAUL K |

So i was on a 5 day break with my Wife in Manhattan and as this was only a couple of blocks from our hotel we used it quite a few times . I think when a place has a queue it generally tells you that it is a decent place to eat and that was definitely the case here as everything i ate in this place was amazing and if you like big portions then again you will not be disappointed. I have been to New York many times and have never had a pastrami sandwich so was excited when i saw that they sold them . Some people might think that 23 dollars is expensive but its actually quite a big plate of food once it comes out and it tasted as good as it looked . We had a Greek waiter who's name began with V (Sorry dude ) who recommended that i had the Eggstrami which was fantastic and so good i had it twice (Not on the same day i might add) The menu is massive and i could not leave a review without mentioning the array of cheesecakes they have . I made the mistake of ordering an Oreo milkshake and a piece of cheesecake without realising that the milkshake actually had a slice of chocolate cheesecake sat on top of it (Shamefully i did eat it all) You could go here for breakfast , lunch and dinner here, we actually ended up here a couple of times at 11pm at night for coffee (and cheesecake ) Be aware that if there is a queue that it goes down pretty quickly so do not worry too much . All in all Great service and great food and i recommend you visit it if you are staying around W 57th St .

Good choice

By CC-212121 |

Randomly chosen, and finally well-timed. Hearty burgers are accompanied by good fries. Go ahead without hesitation

Great for a quick meal

By amosesq |

An unpretentious, straightforward (and varied) menu in a bright, clean location with friendly staff. It succeeds at all of this. We had appetizers (spinach pie and hummus), and they came quickly and well prepared.

Easy to choose ala carte breakfast items

By oldermomma |

So glad to be able to order eggs, bacon and other meats for breakfast and not have to waste potatoes and toast. Free coffee refills.

Delicious Breakfast Close to our Hotel

By Kim Boyle |

We had 2 wonderful breakfasts at Carnegie Diner & Cafe. Our 3-year old loved the lollipop pancakes, and our breakfast was excellent (and LARGE) too! The atmosphere was lively and although there was a little bit of a wait, it moved quickly and we were seated in no time. The service was excellent, and the location was perfect for us. We really enjoyed this spot.

Lovely casual dining experience

By Mr Smith |

Stumbled across this diner purely by accident and decided to try as it was buzzy and the food looked good. Menu offers a great choice for most people including those with a plain palate. The quality of food was great, fresh and tasty. We enjoyed it so much we went on four occasions. The service was fabulous (the lady from Greece was exceptional) bar one other waitress who was the grinch personified and still asked for a tip. Definitely worth a try, waffles and pancakes a must.

Really good, but a bit busy

By Did142014 |

Amazing breakfasts, and in fact you can order whatever you like at any time they’re open. The omelettes are amazing and the coffee is great. Order a full bowl of fruit which is great and fresh. Love it oh and book early because it gets busy.

Disappointed.

By lofromco |

Every other time we’ve been here the food has been great. This time we were all extremely disappointed. Two Reuben’s, one corned beef, one pastrami, both dry, very little sauce and only a spoonful of sauerkraut. SO bad!!! Will not go back again as a great Reuben is a necessity in NYC and you can get a good one at most delis.

Very good pastrami!

By NiniBug |

This restaurant/diner centrally located near Carnegie Hall and Central Park. The portions are huge by European standards and couples can easily split a large sandwich with all the extra sides. The pastrami was the best I tasted during my visit in NYC. The service was okay.

Lovely food and staff

By donnalou82 |

Friendly greeting on arrival on a cold snowy day. Host was lovely and sat us down where we had our order taken very quickly- food was lovely and very very big portions. Lady who served us was very friendly and made sure our food was good and kept us topped up with coffee - even offered us a coffee to go. Definitely recommend to anyone looking for a lovely breakfast

They don't respect reservation.

By Carol H |

They do not respect reservation, I made the reservation in advance. I'm 20 minutes early. The host is not trained for his job. They give priority to diners who arrive without reservation. I was waiting 40 minutes despite the reservation. I was with kids and they still didn't give us a table. We retreated without consuming and with hungry children. If a reservation is made it is to be respected.

Breakfast

By Reffa61 |

On the last day of our stay we wanted to try this diner to taste Pancakes for breakfast. Unfortunately we chose those with blueberries and honestly we found them too loaded. They are in fact much bigger than the usual ones I prepare myself at home and there was so much jam. We did not taste anything other than tea. Given the turnout I think it is still a great diner. The staff was friendly and helpful.

An absolute gem of a place!

By CSWanderWalls |

An amazing place to eat: tasty breakfasts, delicious afternoon cakes, generous evening dinners. We visited every day and were very impressed by the friendly service (Nik, Karina and Krystal - stars!); the quality and freshness of the food; and the lovely atmosphere. The mac & cheese with lobster and the NY strawberry cheesecake I have been dreaming about ever since our return to the UK! An absolute gem of a place!

Great food including some gluten free options, however the service speed outside was poor.

By Richard C |

Great food, an extensive menu and some good options if you need a gluten free option. There is a large inside area and a reasonably large outside area but even at 11:30 on a Saturday we had to wait 20 mins for a table. Service outside was disappointingly slow and poor.

Great food, staff and experience

By Barbara t |

A great spot to experience what a diner is about. Joey and his team are amazing, friendly and know what hospitality is all about. And the food is great as well, good portion size, huge variety and great quality. Would definitely go here again!

Excellent basic food and very reasonable price for midtown.

By mika g |

We enjoyed this place. Perfect unpretentious midtown place to eat. Recommend for a friendly meal in the Columbus Circle-Carnegie Hall area. The food is your basic comfort food, also they have a vegan menu, also breakfast all day (and night), and more elaborate dishes such as bronzino and steak. Everything we ordered was very good. They have a liquor license so nice drink menu if you want wine or beer. Lots of tables but no large booths available, so we were four and sat in the middle - don't if possible - very tight forward - ok sideways. The service was excellent - and food came quickly - and the maitre d' was extremely friendly. He later came to check if all was ok, We are not tourists and we don't like spending a fortune on food, so we don't need pretentious atomosphere or weird dishes that sound better than they usually taste. So this place was perfect for us. Seems very popular and it was a bit noisy, but we were ok with that. We could hear each other talk and were pleased with the food and service, so left quite happy!
