This restaurant was just round the corner from our Doubletree by Hilton hotel and was just far enough for us to stagger after a long day of sightseeing. The owner, Isaac, was a very colourful larger than life character who had been an Elvis tribute act. The food was excellent though rather expensive. That said, Isaac did seem to have a number of regular customers so he clearly had a good reputation. We were rather put off I am sorry to say by the resident who lived above the restaurant coming in to chastise Isaac for playing loud music (or a similar excuse). We gathered this wasn't the first time it happened. We beat a hasty retreat after paying the bill.

Great ambiance paired with attentive service, delicious food, a fantastic wine selection and, best of all, a most entertaining and gracious host, who has led an adventurous and fascinating life This place is a hidden, and very quirky, gem, in the NY food scene. Highly recommend it!

Food is fantastic and Issac is a wonderful host. The food and service is always great. Love coming here when in town.. never disappoints

Traditional Italian at its best. My first visit I was walking down 9th street with 2 business associates when the owner Isac ask us to come in. We were hungry and stopped....three hours later after an amazing meal, wine, music and conversation we left in love with this cozy spot. That was 5 years ago and I go there every time I am in NYC! My son and his girlfriend just visited NYC so I sent them to the restaurant and they had a great time. So...take a walk or a cab away from the other tourists to 9th street and dine with the locals. You will not be disappointed.

Had a quite enjoyable dinner in this little restaurant on 9th Avenue. The owner is an Elvis impersonator and an aficionado and helps wait tables (maybe 8-10 tables in whole restaurant). Typical small Italian restaurant menu and wine list. The orchiette with broccoli rabe and sausage was good if not great. The chocolate mousse was very nice. Portions are reasonable and not oversized so we left having had fun and not overly stuffed.

Vito from Merrion Row Hotel (45th Street) recommended we eat at Isacco's --- well, it's certainly a treat in more than one way! Great wine (the endless bottle), incredible food, and an Elvis impersonator -- what more could you possibly want? From the first bread and olive oil, to the Tiramisu --- excellent.

Food was good, piano playing was ok! Elvis a bit painful. The biggest complaint we have is the tip ($65) (6 people), but when we got credit card statement Elvis had adjusted tip to $85, please be careful of this

We were a group of 5 professionals attending a trade show at Javits Center and staying in nearby hotels who went looking for a relaxing place to have dinner after a long day of work. One of the owners greeted us on the sidewalk and encouraged us to come in. They brought menus but encouraged us to try their specials. When the bill came, we were surprised and disappointed to learn that the sole on the menu was $25 but as a special, it was $40. Linguini with clams was $25 on the menu but the special with clams, shrimp and mussels was >$40. Then, we got the bill for approx $250 for 5 of us (no desserts), added $50 for a tip and divided the bill by 5. 4 people wanted to pay their $60 each by credit card. 1 paid $60 cash. We gave it to them and specifically told them to charge $60 to each card. They took the cash and then added a 20% gratuity to each card and brought back 4 cc receipts for signatures asking them to pay $72 each. When we told them they were wrong, they argued with us. Then, in frustration they brought back the cash and threw it on the table saying that we were screwing them because the tip goes to the waiter and not to the owners. Which made absolutely no sense because the owners greeted us and took our orders. They did have a man who brought out the food but the place is REALLY small and narrow. There was no room for large staff of servants and regardless of how they pay their servers, expecting us to pay a 40% tip was OUTRAGEOUS and although the food was good, the service we received was terrible. Maybe we caught them on a bad night but be forewarned, do not give them your credit card because they REFUSED to process credits on the 4 cc's despite it being their mistake.

We stopped in here, encouraged by the good menu. Firstly we couldn’t decide and the owner recommended an entree and main. Both were very tasty and we finished off with dessert, also delicious. A few things of concern include no pricing on the desserts and soft drinks. So a shock when the bill came. $20 per dessert and $20 for a bottle of Pellegrino 750ml, $8 for a coke. The bill included 20% tip. Then the final receipt had space for a further tip. Has we not paid attention we could have tipped 40%. The ambiance was good.

Stopped in by chance, very glad we did! Food is delicious and the entertainment is even better. We had cold antipasto, Caesar salad and seafood risotto....delicious! Owner is very friendly and welcoming.

The moment you walk into the entrance you can imagine being in one of three places, Las Vegas, Italy or Spain - Just pick one! The owner/manager is a self-professed Elvis impersonator, and quite a fun sort. The service was good and we especially went there to have pasta in squid ink, which was really good. We will be back!

The best meatball I’ve ever had in my 53 years The sauce was awesome the raviolis to die for.. you have to come eat here .. feels like nana kitchen .. from when I was a kid ..

Delicious food away from the tourists! I was looking for a centrally located spot for dinner, as I had family coming in from Port Authority, the Jersey Ferry, and Penn Station... well since that means smack in the center of tourist central, I was a little worried. I found this place on TA and I was NOT disappointed! The food was delicious and the service was excellent. They didn’t rush us (and we were there at prime time on a Friday). There was live music too! I’m gluten free and I’m although I didn’t see a specific gf menu, I found enough naturally gf options. I’ll go back.

It was a couples outing to celebrate a birthday. We had a 7:30 reservation and when we arrived, our table was ready. It is a small restaurant roughly 12 ft. wide and 50 ft. long. We were immediately seated with menues and offered cocktails, wine or sangria. The drinks arrived promptly to everyone's satisfaction. We were given an extra carafe of sangria for seconds and we enjoyed every drop. Both the appetizers and the entrees were nicely prepared, tasted great and visually stunning. Isaac, the owner served and serenaded us.

Dark and strange place, not easy to read menu because there is no light! Maybe the Owner wants to hide something? 😉. Food was good but not delicious, 100 USD per person - just main course and a glass of wine. The owner a little tiring....

We had a delicious late afternoon dinner after walking our feet off in NYC. So glad to sit down! Love the Elvis atmosphere and the Elvis music/video playing. The owner apparently was an Elvis impersonator in another life and there is memorabilia all over the small place. You won’t find anything like this most places! My husband had veal Parm and I had spaghetti and meatballs. The bread and dipping sauce was outstanding as was the Chianti. I recommend this small place for a unique experience even in NYC.

Bad experience, poor quality of dishes, and in the end the surprise (the prices of these drinks were not on the Menu) water at $16 a bottle and small Peroni beers at $15 each!! To be forgotten as soon as possible ...

After looking for local restaurants that were close to our hotel on 40th street, we decided to visit and see what all the good reviews were about. The food was authentic and I had linguine with seafood which included 1/2 of a lobster in a marina sauce. The owner Isaac (Isacco) was friendly and wanted us to stay, and gave me another glass of wine which was gratis and also another Italian beer for my husband at no charge as well! You can't go wrong with that attitude! We went early (6:30) and it was fairly empty, but when we left, business was picking up! If you're in the area, this is a must visit for dinner! The ambiance goes out onto the street in front of the restaurant as well!

We came across this old and really small restaurant on our walks from nearby hotel and made a reservation for dinner after seeing their menu and reading reviews. Menu, signage and decor are charming, all very old-world vintage with staff that seems to have limited English but know their jobs and do them well. Salads, pastas, desserts were excellent. Spaghetti puttanesca and lasagna were outstanding. Be aware their license is beer and wine, no liquor. They offer one Italian bottled beer, homemade red and white wine and some other commercial wine by bottle (not by the glass). These limitations are why I couldn't give a 5*

Called in by chance the food was excellent ,we got serenaded by the owner, the total experience was unbelievable. If we go back to New York this restaurant is most definitely on the to do list.A very good end to a good holiday.

My daughter was in from Atlanta on business in the city. She was staying on 8th Avenue in Midtown, so we looked online for an Italian eatery. After looking at five possibilities, we picked Casa Di Isacco on 9th. It was a great choice. The food was excellent and the piano player made the meal more enjoyable. We had gnocchi pesto, gnocchi bolognese and linguine with seafood marinara. They were all delicious and nicely presented. The desserts were outstanding. I've never had better spumoni. The wait staff couldn't have been nicer or more efficient.

Food was deelish! We walked by this place a couple of times & never ‘saw’ it. A friend took us in for dinner & we loved it. Very small, narrow place. Just 4 larger round tables to seat 6 and 4 tables for 2. Busy, busy for a Thursday night @ 7:30 pm! The owner doubled as waiter, Host, wine steward & more. He used to be an Elvis impersonator & still has some of the look with his hairstyle! Just one other man to help clear tables. All pasta is homemade there. My cheese raviolis melted in my mouth. My Husband had linguine with shrimp & calamari; said it was also very good. Seafood cooked well. Wine menu: very limited & pricy for a glass or bottle. $10/glass. Bottles starting at $35 for a very few & rest were $60, $80 & higher 😢. He has his own made red wine which was surprisingly better than the Chianti bottle we bought. Most main course dishes priced at $25. Few available at $16.75. Only bread comes with meal. Worth going back to again!

I've paid 3 bottles of simply water 30 Dollars. 20 % of gratuity already charged in the bill. I felt uncomfortable at the moment to say the bill because the responsible tried to enforce the amount as much as possible.

Just around the corner from our hotel at 9th Avenue between 39th & 40th was an amazing Italian restaurant. Got right in, seated, and served a delicious martini. Started with a HOT shrimp appetizer that was to die for, homemade sourdough bread with extra virgin olive oil and course chunks of salt. I ordered the lasagna and my husband ordered the risotto. Both were out of this world and accompanied by a delicious glass of tempranlllo. Wonderful, attentive, service! A classic Italian "hole in the wall" with that old world flavor and flair. Definitely check it out!!

Restaurant that claims to be Italian, with Italian opera music and kitsch decor... Ok. Already very expensive dish on the menu: $22 for spaghetti Bolognese and $14 for a glass of piquette (which only has red in color). To which is added 11% tax then 20% services then 6 visa then 4 international tax (which I have never had elsewhere)... In short $170 for 4 plates of pasta and 1 glass of wine... There are no other words for theft...

This place is great. The owner is a little crazy with his singing and Elvis impersonating, but if you can get past that, it's great. Not sure why people are saying the bread was not free. It was definitely free.

eatifu antipasto. Amazing carbonara sauce. Excellent friendly service. Close to several hotels aroud Port Authority.

We discovered this restaurant by accident today and so pleased we did. The pasta is all home made and they’ve been their for 30 years no wonder in was excellent. My son had the lasagna and he said it was the best he’d ever had. Friendly and efficient service

The owner, Isacco Isaac is a hoot. He looks like he is out of 70's, but his food is terrific. There are wine bottles all over the place. Only 8-10 tables in a very narrow space, but it is an experience. A good experience. It is not fancy, but it is just plain good!!!

We stayed for dinner in this place attracted by the belonging warmth of the owner. We know that in NYC prices are not cheap, but here you reach the peak. It is regrettable to note that after a qualitatively mediocre dinner Mr. Isaac has no shame in 'lightening the pockets of his customers, for example two bottles of water 30 dollars, a lime of wine 16 dollars... in short, for a total of 180 dollars without having practically eaten (two first I repeat qualitatively doubtful). A real trap for tourists😅

This was the perfect spot for some great Italian food. A less than 10 min walk from the SpringHill/Fairfield Inn suites hotel of E. 36th. Extremely friendly staff eager to assist and explain their menu. Nice timing between appetizers and main courses. My 17 yr old son went with the traditional spaghetti and meatballs, my 15 yr old daughter went w the carbonara and I had the appetizer order of shrimp and garlic butter. All delicious! The orange sorbet was phenomenal. We loved our server and waitstaff and the hostess was super friendly upon our arrival. The owner even came to greet us at the table. I’d go back here in a heartbeat!

Hidden gem, best Italian food iv ever eaten! And i eat It a lot . Service was awesome . After a cold day of site seeing was nice to have some great homemade pasta

This is a hidden treasure!!! Some of the best Italian food ever!!! A must go if in the area!! And the water is the best water I’ve ever had!!

The place to go to if you want to feel like you're in an american movie. Service ok - food fine - kind of expensive for what you get.

We arrived in NYC staying at a hotel on 41st Street. The restaurant was a very short walk from the hotel. We were the only one in the restaurant as we had a late lunch (3:00 p.m.). We enjoyed our lunch. They have a luncheon special for $19.95 and you get a choice of an appetizer and entree and either a glass of wine or sangria. I had the salad and spaghetti and meatballs. Both were very good. My husband had calamari and chicken Milanese. This was also very good. I finished my meal off with spumoni. Yummy. I would definitely recommend this great Italian restaurant when in this area of NYC.

We asked the concierge where to find a restaurant near the hotel and they recommended the above. Well what can I say Elvis is still alive and running a pretty fantastic restaurant in NY. This must be shrine to Elvis this family run business is great, food and service are brilliant and the owner is just amazing, reasonable price, highly recommend

Isacco is a small intimate restaurant located in Hell's Kitchen. My fiance and I dined here back in September 2017 and loved it so much, we ate there twice and returned in June 2018 on our most recent visit to New York. The wait staff are Italian. Some speak very little English. The menu is predominantly in Italian with old world faire. They offer a wine list, but I highly recommend the homemade red wine, a Chianti. The Pasta Fagioli is one of the best I have experienced. As we have been there a number of times, we have experienced the veal, chicken and fish entrees as well as pasta. Everything is delicious and we have never experienced a bad meal. The owner Isaac is refreshing. He is more than happy to tell you how he came to the U.S. He is an Elvis impersonator and his stories are very entertaining. Trattoria Casa di Isacco is a great Italian restaurant and one of our favorites.

The place is welcoming, warm, with its hundreds of bottles of Italian wine and souvenir photos of Elvis. The food is really good and Isacco is kind and cheerful. If prices are a bit high, it’s definitely worth going to dinner!

By chance, we passed the place. Looked skeptical at first, but then we decided to stop. We were very surprised, an optical journey through time to the sixties. We were immediately joyfully very lovingly welcomed by Isaac. There was fresh bread and a very tasty dip as a starter. The food was very good.

I feel like I discovered a true gem in Trattoria Casa Di Isacco. The restaurant is very small and intimate. The food was amazingly fresh and delicious. The prices are reasonable and the portion size just right. This is an old school restaurant and if you like Elvis you are in for a special treat. This place just works! Please give it a try, you will not be disaappointed.

This was a hidden gem that we found during our trip to New York. The place looked small at first but when we entered the restaurant it was an rustic italien restaurant with hundreds of wine bottles everywhere. We ate some pasta and the portions were perfect for one person. We had the amazing opportunity to meet the owner of the restaurant Issac who was super nice and funny. I totally recommend this restaurant to anyone wanting to have amazing service and great food.

The restaurant is very charming and the ambience attracted us. The fact that it was still quite empty at 7 p.m. didn't make us suspicious. The Mexican waiter was very attentive and friendly. Unfortunately, the food was a disaster - the linguini with mussels ($22) crunched - the lasagne ($22) wouldn't even pass as a starter in Italy. The real cheek was the drinks that weren't on the menu... Vino de Casa $16 per glass - OK, alcohol is more expensive in NY BUT an espresso for $10. Absolute cheek!

Very good local Italian restaurant with very good food and a wide selection of wines. Informal style, mid priced and friendly service. The piano music was average and encouraged by college footballers tended to be loud and unpleasant. Would go back for the food and ambience but not the crowd. The manager tried to compensate

Walking past the restaurant we were invited to inspect the menu which was competitive to surrounding Italian restaurants so we chose to have a table for two. Going into the restaurant the ambience was great. Really nicely decorated and live piano so all seemed great. As I was running the marathon the following day, we weren’t drinking so simply had a bottle of water each. After dinner, we had a coffee and then we received the bill…. $44 of food, 2 waters and 2 cups of coffee had come back as a $110 bill virtue of 1L bottles of water charged at $15 each, coffees at $8 each and a 25% service charged added. Absolute daylight robbery! Even then, when given credit card receipt the tip column was left empty, suggesting they wanted more. I will definitely be keeping an eye on my credit card bill when it arrives. Absolute conmen. Avoid at all costs.

Adorable and old little restaurant. Fabulous bread and celery appetizer. Service is never great, but the ambiance is! It is always an interesting and fun meal and is very close to the hotel we usually stay at.

The owner is an absolute piece of trash! Almost got into a fist fight with him with him because of his tone of voice and blatant disrespect. He has no decency and very rash and aggressive. Apparently you do not get served your food until you finish your appetizer. Waited hour and half for our entree and never recieved it bcuz we did not finish our appetizer. The atmosphere is amazing but this old man needs to be checked into an insane asylum.

Great cuisine, honest price and excellent service. A legitimate Italian trattoria in NY. I'll be back soon.

Had to get for after traveling from Georgia. This location is right around the corner from the hotel we are staying in. My wife was famished and we had passed by this restaurant on our way to the hotel. I decided we needed to try it, so off we went. I had the Chicken Parmesan, and my wife had the Chicken Romana. Everything came out quickly and smelled wonderful. Flavors were perfect. The dessert was also wonderful. I had the Orange Sorbet, and my wife had the Flan. I would highly recommend this location!

Good was excellent atmosphere very enjoyable and with Mr Issaco and his piano player Tom made for a GREAT EVENING nothing more to be said

Our fault but we took the waiters recommendation without asking for the price and they charged 30 dollars more than any other thing on the menu. The food was OK but not that good. There is a great atmosphere but would not return.

The ambience is amazing: romantic, cozy and warm. Service is excellent! Food is delicious. A lot of choices available. Would come back in a heartbeat.

Never ate so badly, an insult to Italian cuisine, crazy prices, a 15 dollar bottle of water .... I asked to speak to the owner but nothing .... an experience not to be repeated.

Pay attention to prices A bottle of water $16 A bitter $30 High tip for waiters (by the way not mandatory but they make you find it on the receipt) Rude and rude. We asked for the menu to check the prices he started screaming like crazy ... in the end we paid without checking and left We do not recommend it for less than mediocre food, poorly cleaned and unkept environment... the only thing Italian was the music.

The decor is very busy but good fun. The pianist was brilliant. The food was good. The staff are charming. If you're in the neighbourhood check it out!

What a lovely warm place! We went there straight from arriving at the airport, our apartment was about 300m from this little gem. Elvis treated us like longlost friends, made us feel very at home and even gave us a bottle of his own bottled red wine. Not to mention the food!!! Everything about this place is awesome!

We ate there with friends. We were looking for a cozy place and we were attracted by the decor. Once there we quickly realize that the boss, former lookalike of Elvis, is unbearable! We ask for sparkling water and he immediately brings 2 bottles of San oelligrino which he pours abundantly in the event in the glasses. Same toppmo with the beers peroni. Each bottle will be charged $15. Total: $75 in beer and water. Pasta was passable Desserts, frozen, will be charged $20 each Very salty note Atmosphere dinner bad show from the boss To flee Scam!!!

Chef Meliano is back! And he is wonderful!! And Issaco and his ambiance and sangria cannot be matched! I usually get the lobster ravioli but this time I tried something new...the eggplant parmigiana was absolutely wonderful! Thank you Issaco and Chef Melliano for another wonderful meal!!! Don’t miss this dining experience...#foodporn #amazingitalian #sangria #love

Horrible experience! Owner was very rude and racist to us and the Asian customers sitting next to us. He asked if they speak Chinese and started ignorantly talking to them in “Chinese”. He grabbed their napkins and forced them on their laps. The customers would say they can do it themselves and he started saying “they are at a restaurant and they need to know how to be in one”. On top of that, he was very rude to us, rushing us to make our order. He asked us if we wanted cheese. My bf said yes but a little and I said no. He got upset and started tossing an extreme amount of cheese into my bf’s dish. Throughout this whole experience, he was in the back table talking really loud and drinking wine with his friend and employee. Will never be coming back to this place, I would not recommend it!

This was such a surprise to find. Authentic Italian! Such friendly staff and owner. Went for my birthday dinner and was not disappointed. It’s like stepping back 40 years . Wine bottles , candies, pictures of Elvis and plants all over . Was invited to the secret dinning room in back of kitchen which you had to go thru kitchen. It was like a rain forest. Owner gave me a free bottle of wine and my husband sang with the piano player. Was a great evening.

Was so excited to try this little hole in the wall Italian joint. However, staff was so rude and obxious i left heartbroken and empty. The menu was overpriced. Table next to me fought with owner about an upcharge because they had party of 5 .. which isn’t even a lot of people. My waiter acted like he was ready to cut himself in the kitchen to get out of finishing his shift. Just total disappointment

Wow, what an experience our dinner was. Such a cozy little restaurant with such a character. If you know something about wines you will be impressed!! What a range and what a collection. The food was fantastic and cooked from scratch. The service also left nothing to chance, everything was orderly!! The owner Isaac Elvis was incredibly charismatic and spoke about his life. He was also generous and offered us both drinks and dessert!! We recommend this cozy restaurant!!

We came in to the city late evening and checked into a hotel around the corner and they recommended this restaurant. We had a friendly greeting and very good service. It is a small Quaint restaurant and the food was good and very reasonably priced. The only complaint we had was that the owner sat in the back of the restaurant and played DVDs of Tom Jones and Elvis Presley loud enough so that you could not hear yourself think. 3 times our waiter went to him and requested that the sound be lowered. The boss refused to lower the music. I will waiter was very apologetic and even followed us outside to apologize multiple times. The owner of this restaurant needs to find something else to do with his time rather than ruin his business.

We passed by this restaurant looking for someplace to eat and decided to take a chance on it. We had lovely service and the food was outstanding. One of us had the penne ala vodka and said it was the best she had ever had. I had spaghetti with meatballs and they were wonderful. We had a wonderful cannoli for dessert and it was not only beautiful but yummy. Very old fashioned decor, small restaurant and worth a return visit.

This was near our hotel and after a long day sightseeing we decided to give it a go. With four very tired and jet lagged brits they must have thought what on earth has walked in but the greeting was amazing, Fresh bread and lots of water , the sangria is home made and its a must try. We all had pasta and we all agreed it was better than the ones we had in Itay earlier in the year . Wished we had time to go to this little gem, even just for a glass of sangria

At first, surroundings and staff seem quirky, even fun; Food OK, but VERY average and nothing like the pictures I've seen on this site - the offered 'picture' menu of desserts offered look to be the frozen sort purchased from a supplier. Given any opportunity the staff will guide you to certain choices, usually by promoting the specials and all very rapid - and only when you get the bill do you realise that you will not have seen anything on price for these options. We were charged $35 for a carafe of over-sweet Sangria, we really could not believe it. The 'specials' starter choice...Garlic Prawns were $21 per person for a few (clearly frozen out of a packet) rubbery prawns swimming in a bath of oil. Places like this survive because the clientele will not be regulars - every evening some new passing trade will get drawn in - they really don't deserve to continue in business, that's how crooked this place is, they know you won't return and they really don't care. For two frozen prawn starters and some chicken swamped in Tomato sauce with a bit of Mozzarella and a Carafe of Sangria - we were charged $147 (including substantial gratuity added by restaurant, just to add insult to injury!). We didn't argue - we just wanted to get out - but I can totally believe the experiences of some of the other diners who have described their treatment when they did complain. If you don't intend to spend that sort of money DO NOT GO IN however friendly they seem; if you do intend to spend that sort of money.. do yourself a favour and find somewhere where you will get value for it. BIG, EXPENSIVE DISAPPOINTMENT.

We were staying near by and it looked interesting in s kitsch way with a large menu. The waiter did not speak English well and was difficult to understand. We managed to order a glass of wine. I asked a simple question about ravioli he didn’t know, but he checked. We asked if anything came with the entrees. He said no , but chicken parm came with pasta ( it was under “Pasta” heading). I said the eggplant parm must come with pasta too as it was under the “Pasta” heading. The waiter said no, nothing else came with pasta. I said that made no sense. Finally the Elvis wanna look alike owner came out and started yelling that of course it came with pasta. My husband asked him not to yell in his ear and he then yelled at us to get out of his restaurant. It was like a Saturday Night Live skit. We will not be returning. We live in New Orleans and are just to a better welcoming.

Unbelievable experience by accident with Isaac :-)... was referred to another Italian but we were turned away at the door due to no reservation (our fault... shoulda known better) never-the-less a quick Google turned up Trattoria Casa Di Isaaco as another close distance alternate. A quick phone call to an ‘abrupt and loud Italian sounding gentleman’ turned up a ‘YOU COME BY 10 MINUTE!’. This is going to be a tough review to write in short. The place is *tiny* maybe 10 tables? We were welcomed by what appeared and sounded to be an Italian Elvis impersonator. As he enthusiastically welcomed us and asked us to wait maybe 5 minutes, he sang to his patrons dancing around delivering food and taking orders. It TOTALLY reminded me of being at my grandmother’s. The food: we have zero.doubt. the food was cooked to order. Everything was amazing. Isaac/Elvis even makes his own wine that we bought two bottles of. All in all we all (wife, myself and our two girls ages 10 and 12) loved everything. Especially the atmosphere. WONDERFUL experience!

OK, the reviews on here are from people who had never been before and were quite surprised by what they found, and if that's who you want to trust go ahead. But I go here a lot, and let me explain what you're in for. Food: everyone agrees it is excellent, and that is absolutely true. Decor: Different, yes. It's a small restaurant, and has been around for long enough to develop its own personality. If you're an Elvis fan, you'll love it if you sit toward the back. Service: This depends. If you go for dinner, you won't have problems because there are waiters who will be available for you in what becomes a very busy place after 530p. But if you go for lunch, be prepared: there is no waiter, only the owner himself serves at lunchtime. He also takes produce and meat deliveries, and does everything else you expect from a restaurant owner. So go if you have time, but if you're in a rush, this isn't for you. Casual indeed. Wine: The wine with the label of the Elvis impersonator - who is the owner, by the way - is actually quite good. It's actually all I order when I go. Overall, this is a hidden gem. You can't go in with an attitude or uptightness of any kind, because you will be exposed here. This is casual dining. You will see patrons talking between tables who never met before. If you're lucky, Isaaco will sing for you. And in any case, you will have a great lunch or dinner.

Great looking space , owner greets you upon arrival plus also serves you as well. The first class feeling with attention. Food was out of this world with great prices. HOME made wine was super!!!!

We stumbled upon this place on New year's day and were the only people in the restaurant around 12.30. The place is like a warp back into time with lots of pictures and wine bottles. I ordered a pasta with meatballs that was really good. My girlfriend enjoyed the vegetarian pasta. We got talking with the owner, a big Elvis fan and imitator. He was very friendly but a little loud (funny though). He gave us a bottle of his house wine when we left. A nice place to discover, there's live piano on weekend nights.

Looking at other reviews I can say that we had a much better experience. We were staying at the Marriott Fairfield right around the corner and wanted Italian, so I Googled it. This whole area is not in a great part of town but we had no issues. Yes, the owner is a bit excentric and over the top with Elvis, but that makes it part of the fun of going here. The house home made wine looked interesting but we opted for a bottle from California. Three of us each had something different and all thought it was excellent. True, not large portions but good enough, basically priced right. The atmosphere is great, very cozy place. We would definitely go back if we were staying longer in the city.

Visiting this place is an experience in its self as the owner Isacco is a character and his staff are not far behind. Don't be put off with the flat screen tv as you will see the old masters belting out tunes and this adds to the atmosphere of the place. The food is top class and if there is a group of you then get the house carafe as its cheaper that the wine list selection and probably just as good. We had a fantastic time here in the big Apple.

Absolutely overpriced Mediocre pasta 15 sparkling water 19 An unknown beer named Port... 20% gratuites Scam for tourists

Absolutely worst place we've been to. An owner who thinks he's so cool but doesn't listen to his guests! We ordered pre-drinks which we didn't get. We ordered a bottle of red wine for 35 USD but as he had his own wine which was much better. Which was much more expensive as well. The food was just ok. But nothing more. Then they added a 20% tip. For what ? $15 for a bottle of Pellegrino. He was so very rude and unpleasant. Actually, I don't think anyone will return. ! At least we don't!

Tiny, tiny place around the corner from our hotel. We wanted something more special than pizza and boy did we find it! Isacco greeted us outside the door and invited us inside. Cute and quaint with killer sangria. We enjoyed an artichoke appetizer, two different, excellent chicken dishes and the best tiramisu I've ever tasted. We enjoyed being serenaded by Isacco and Marcello was an excellent waiter. The only drawback was that they didn't want anyone to leave, so it took an extra long while to get our check. Beyond that, it was an fabulous dining experience and very fairly priced.

Surrealistic experience, not my favourite, but my daughter loved it. Over the top decorated little place, live pianist/singer (Sunday night), older Elvis look-a-like servant/owner, that is "loudly present" and sniffles when passing the few tables. Pasta plain & fresh, not cheap nor abundant. Might be described as cult.

Stayed around the corner and stumbled upon this quirky but quaint find. Solid traditional Italian food with a great homemade chianti. Recommend the seafood special with lobster!

The food and the ambiance are not bad BUT Issaco's ways of pushing you to elect some dishes is questionable. Why? He pushes you to select dishes that are not in the menu and he is not transparent. My friend was offered a pasta with seafood. Isaaco did not say he will add Lobster and charge as a Lobster dish. That is what he actually did. I chose a snapper; he said I do not recommend you that I recommend you a flounder; he insisted so much that I ended up accepting. He charged me as if I would have had a lobster. When I asked for the bill I could not believe the amount he charged. He blamed me . He said that I failed to ask. The waiter that works with him told me the same. My only reaction was: This is not the best way to do business. In an aggressive way Isacco responded that I am not to tell him how to do business. I will never go back. I you readers decide to visit this restaurant anyway please: ask for the prices or simply do not follow Isaaco's advises.

This is truly an 'old school' Italian restaurant. The food, service and ambiance are all reminiscent of the great era of fine Italian dining.

Absolutely amazing. What a gem of a find. It was like dining in the middle of Italy! Service was excellent, food was fantastic, atmosphere second to none. Would highly recommend.

Owner spills dishes on the floor and splashes diners. It happens, nothing serious. BUT HE DOES NOT APOLOGIZE and blames the dishes on the table, then orders not to photograph the disaster (we were not doing it) and to put away the phones. He forgets to bring a salad and when we remind him he says that now after the first ones there was no sense. Then $16 a San Pellegrino and $20 two espressos...

Mediocre food, crazy price $20 for a 1 liter bottle of water.. 3 first courses, a can of coke and a bottle of water $150 Not recommended

My granddaughter and I had a wonderful dinner here before going to the theatre on June 20. The sangria was delicious and Isaac, the host, made sure it was flowing. My eggplant parmigiana was excellent. The chocolate mousse was divine and a work of art. We thank Isaac and his waiter for a delicious meal and a fun dinner event.

3 generation family visit. we have all moved away from the tri-state area so wanted a NY experience (no chain restaurants per 18 yo). Wandered in because it looked interesting and wasn't far from hotel- very glad we did. Food was great, service on point and we loved the piano player.

From France, During a business stay in NYC discovered by chance this small atypical restaurant Atmosphere and warm setting Good food service at the top I will return

A friend brought me here tonight to this unique little restaurant. It's run by a Spaniard who cooks Italian, was a green beret and an Elvis impersonator. (Check out his hair) Isaac will gladly regale you with his life story as you eat. We had a fixed price $20 dinner that included wine or his homemade sangria. Dessert was extra. Tartufo was yummy. This tiny spot has posters covering the walls, plays Elvis in the background, and has an Elvis video going on a TV. A unique spot to take friends. I had the calamari app and pork chop entree. Portions arent big, but tasty.

We ate here on a Sunday evening ( New Years Day) and we weren't sure what to expect. The place is quite small and dark but this does make it very atmospheric ( just very hard to read the menu) and decor is definitely fitting for a small trattoria. Isaac greeted us and was very welcoming and though at times it did seem he hadn't really heard our orders or the requests that went with it, we ended up with the right food which was lovely. A young girl turned up to sing and play the grand piano which is in the restaurant and she was amazing. She had an excellent voice and her song range was great with the Beatles to show songs. At one point Isaac decided we would want to hear Tom Jones as we are British and he joined in the singing in his pure Elvis style; very entertaining. Wine we chose was Isaacs own with his picture on the label but to be honest this was really nice. The restaurant isn't cheap, particularly the alcohol but we felt worth it for the evening we had. Give it a go!

This is the sort of place you would walk right past if you didn't know it was there. Yes, It has a nice sign outside, but, it's a small entrance with not much frontage or window presence on 9th Ave. Inside, it looks like the kind of place you would imagine someone was 'whacked' long ago. However, once you sit down, the attention to you and whomever you are dining with is 1st rate. They truly want to wait on you. As the wine is poured and the appetizers come, you know you made a good choice. The Grilled Calamari melts in your mouth. The Spaghetti Carbonara made me want 2nds and 3rds. I've been here twice now and will put it on my list of "must dine at" for all my trips to NYC.

Came here two nights in a row with my daughter. Food was mediocre the first night but since it was is close proximity to my hotel, decided to come back for a second time. Dinner number two was delicious. Major downfall was when my daughter ordered vanilla ice cream and when she got it, she said it tasted funny. I tried it myself and it was awkward. The waiter said he thought it was vanilla but it could have been coconut. Either way, I sent it back and I was still charged $10 for the dessert no one liked. And the plain ice cream was the same price as the other desserts on the menu! I knew I wasn’t getting anywhere with a refund when the waiter said “you have to pay for it, because if not, I will have to” Hope you like what you order, if not, you’ll pay for it anyway. The End.

Food was terrible. Bread was stale, dry and crumbly. Grilled calamari appetizer was rubbery. Spaghetti carbonara was gummy and veal piccata overcooked and drowning in sauce. I’ve seen reviews describe this as a hidden gem. In our opinion this restaurant should remain hidden and it certainly is no gem!

A unique experience and was not expecting the wonderful service we got and the great quality of the food. Definitely a place for good wine and unique service. Isaac, our waiter and the owner of the restaurant, is a great fan of Elvis Presley and told us of his time being an Elvis impersonator. Interesting man! Definitely check this place out!

I visited with my family for dinner, and in this restaurant you can not choose what you want to eat and drink, first they try at all costs that you choose the specials of the day, then they want you to drink the house wine and last, a lot Careful when paying the bill, the tip is already included in the final value and if you pay in cash make it clear that you want the change back, as you already payed the tip they want your change too. Very unpleasant and embarrassing.

Ordered the octopus appetizer which was a special and not on the menu. The waiter came back to the table after taking the order to make sure we wanted it since it was $50, which I appreciated since that changed my mind. We had fried calamari instead, which was disappointing because it was large, chewy calamari rings, with no tentacles. Ordered the house wine, which was a cheap Tempranillo and okay. The problem was the half carafe was $20 (good deal), but the extra glass we ordered was $14 (terrible deal). The prices weren’t on the menu so we didn’t know until we got the bill. The menu is extensive, but totally lacking descriptions. I guess we could have asked. The veal saltimboco was made with spinach, which my husband wouldn’t have ordered if he had known. I ordered risotto with squid ink, which was tasty, but the risotto wasn’t all that well prepared. I really wished I had gone for a pasta dish instead. I was glad I had read a few reviews and was forewarned about the 20% tip already being applied, because it’s not mentioned in the menu or by the waiter. The restaurant itself is lovely and a little quirky and very cozy. I would go back and order differently, but, unfortunately, my husband isn’t in agreement.

If you miss seeing this place....you missed out! The atmosphere was unique and romantic. The service was fantastic and the food was amazing. A true Italian classic!

My husband & I live a few blocks away & always enjoy dining here for a romantic dinner for just the 2 of us or especially love bringing friends/family in from out of town. We think it is quite the treat to share the experience. The restaurant is long & cozy with tons of wine bottles overhead, lots of plants, and framed pictures & paintings of Italy. Upon entering there is a grand piano where live music is played Friday & Saturday evenings. The right side of the long dining room are 2 top tables & the left side is for 5-6ppl round tops. The owner who is also the maitre de & server is quite the character as he is a HUGE Elvis fan & impersonator. He even has the old 1970's hairstyle and will talk & sing Elvis. He usually plays Elvis music or has old videos playing on the flatscreen TV towards the back of the restaurant. There are usually 2 other waiters that serve the food & clean the tables. They are also on top of it with keeping your water glasses full & pouring you your wine or sangria (which is the owner's mother's recipe). I attempted to pour myself another glass of sangria & when one of the waiters saw me immediately rushed over to pour it. It is quite fine dining but not the price! It's nice to be pampered once in awhile & they really treat you special here! Not to mention that the food is SUPERB & very reasonably priced. If you are looking for a nice treat with great food & fun atmosphere, you definitely need to stop by here! I HIGHLY recommend it!!!

He attended us when we arrived the Owner Mr Isaac (Elvis Presley) at first seemed a little strong, but it is a matter of understanding and was very attentive and a little comical, the soups of lentils, meatballs and fish (brancino) and the meals of my family all show, good wines, if you want to drink wine, eat rich and have fun I recommend Att Mr. Sullivan and family

Do not eat at this place on 9th ave Rude dismissive spoke over us when trying to explain about allergies that could kill my nephew 🤬and very very expensive not worth it at all no prices on the desert menu so absolutely gobsmacked to find out a sorbet (one scoop) was the same price as the mains Asked for tap water and was charged $20 US for it .be careful where you eat Over $400

Arrogant owner. Good food… if only it came with a side of respect. The owner was offended that four adults shared three plates (shocking, right?) and that we didn’t order wine on a Tuesday. Food is good, but if you enjoy freedom of choice, Manhattan has countless better Italian spots.

Found this fantastic Italian restaurant on Ninth Avenue (between 39st/40st) street. Loved it so much went back again. They have a lunch special with appetizer, entre and wine (try they Sangria-it's wonderful!) . We ate both lunch and went back for dinner. Will go again next time in NYC.

My wife and I had a meal last week. The venue, owner and décor are all fun. The food was overall average, I had gnocchi and my wife grilled salmon. The salmon was decent, the Bolognese sauce on the gnocchi was too creamy and the tomatoes used didn't seem to impart any flavour. I am half Italian, so know what it should really taste like. Anyway I guess this is what NYC Italian restaurants are like given some folks are raving about the food. The wine was generous, but a little ordinary. Note the prices on the menu and on the bill can sometimes vary. Anyway, we overall enjoyed the experience, but I am sure there is better out there???

What a fantastic experience. The staff were amazing, so attentive and friendly. The food was out of this world and the restaurant itself was so cosey and quaint. In a bustling city like NY, having this hidden gem tucked away for a bit of peace and quiet is incredible. Prices are reasonable by NY standards and no forced tip although we went a bit over the 20% as felt it was deserved. Honestly don’t hesitate!!!

be careful the prices in this restaurant are horrible a sambuca $25 an espresso coffee $10 a bottle of Italian Forst beer $15 so with a plate of toss in your mouth for $25 - taxes and service you get close to $100

Isaaco never disappoints. There's also an amazing garden in the back! I recommend the pastas they are all delicious.

I had dinner at this little Italian Restaurant that was right around the corner from our hotel. We were a party of 5 with three generations and were looking for a nice place to eat. The owner greeted us and took us to our cozy table. The place is very small with low lighting and interesting decor. The owner told us about the specials of the evening and took our order all the while cracking jokes with my nephew. Our waiter brought the wine and drinks. He was like an Italian Elvis, with his side-burns and funny comments. We all enjoyed our food (more like devoured it) and the wine was refilled frequently. A piano player arrived and the place got louder and louder. Again, this is a very small restaurant and while fun to sing along (encouraged), it was hard to carry on a conversation. I suspect the staff and management was drinking as much as the patrons...lol!! Overall, we really enjoyed the meal. I would recommend Trattoria if your are looking for good Italian food in a uniquely-New York restaurant and are up for a good time.

There are few restaurants that offer such delicious dishes made from top quality ingredients. Added to that, the prices are very reasonable, and the atmosphere... well, that's a whole story in itself. Honestly as we walked into the tiny dark dining room, I questioned our decision. But our waiter made us feel so welcome! And the food!! Even the bread and dipping sauce were special. Perfectly prepared veal and pasta make me wish I lived closer so I could visit more often. The vibe is unique and within minutes we were swaying to the music and so happy to be there. Loved getting to go somewhere where we were treated to the unexpected in the best of ways.

Found this gem around the corner from our hotel. Tiny, excellent service. Reasonable prices. Homemade pasta that is delicious! I had fresh linguini with house made marinara, and seafood. It was so large my husband enjoyed at least a third of it. The house Chianti is quite enjoyable. Strongly recommend!

Six in our party. Great atmosphere. Lovely authentic Italian food. Seafood lasagne very good. Two people had the special. Very good but we didn’t ask the price and it was quite expensive for what we had. Service good and staff very friendly. The owner made the night singing happy birthday. Deserts gorgeous tiramisu was lovely. I would go again.

I wandered into Isaac's on my last night in NYC, a middle aged solo diner, and he treated me like a queen. Asked me what I'd really like and created a dish for me (delicious grilled halibut I think it was, on pasta with garlic and olive oil). And he put Elvis videos on for me to watch while I ate. I have photos to commemorate the evening. About to go to NYC again and I'll be sure to stop by.

A funny old combination but here it is. The owner clearly finds himself in Elvis's Hawaiian period. The hair, the shirt, goes the picture? The menu was a little light on vegetarian stuff but the owner went out of his way to ensure we got good hearty Italian meat free pasta meals to his own recipes. The food was excellent. The beer was expensive for a small bottle of Italian beer and the overall bill was a bit NY (i.e. expensive). Worth a visit though.

Great food and host Isaac was wonderful. Highly recommended! Small but cozy and prices are reasonable for the quality of the food. Octopus appetizer was the best I have ever had.

Mediocre pasta at very high prices. Had the special seafood pasta which he didn’t tell us was $50! Very overpriced. Wine was lovely, as was the vinegarette with bread but yes he does charge for that. He should not bring over food that has not been ordered and make it look complimentary then charge for it. We did not order desserts but he gave us one free which we shared, probably to soften the blow of the $240 bill for a family of 4, just 4 mains, 2 soft drinks and 2 glasses of wine. Ouch.

Disappointing Experience I recently visited this place and unfortunately, my experience left much to be desired. The food was decent, but nothing exceptional. What truly stood out was the rude behavior of the owner, which significantly dampened the overall atmosphere. It's disappointing when a potentially enjoyable meal is overshadowed by unwelcoming attitudes.

Gnocchi was mediocre. Staff was nice enough but they automatically put on the 20% gratuity for a single person. I always tip 20% anyway but they were sneaky about it and almost suckered me into tipping another 20%. Not great. Won’t ever return.

Terrible. Avoid at all costs. Overbearing owner, out of tune loud singing, totally in your face. Food is reasonably priced, but I ordered parmigiana chicken, which was so chewy. No drinks menu, so you order without seeing the prices. This is where you get ripped off. $25 for a glass of Prosecco. Bread put on the table that we didn't ask for turned out to be $30. If I could give zero stars I would but unfortunately 1 star is the lowest on here.

Very unique Italian restaurant. A little bit off the beaten path but well worth it. The owner an Elvis impersonator on the weekends is a real NYC character. He waits on the tables, sings a little and tells some stories. The food is very good and reasonably priced.

My partner and I walked past this restaurant during the day and were interested by the huge barrel of corks outside! We decided to try it out for dinner and were not disappointed. The decor is eclectic which I thought was wonderful. I had the carbonara and my partner had the spaghetti and meatballs, both were excellent. Home made merlot was lovely. Service was great and the owner Isaac gave us a complimentary bottle of wine. Would definitely recommend!

It was nice, very expensive each dish between $20 to 50.00 a meal. Very rushed , to get more people in .

The food is great in general, and the value is correct for the price. A bit salty but still tasty. Generous people work there, only downturn is they don’t speak a very good English or Italian

Rip off! Be very careful. Food average but reasonably priced, $20-$25 for pasta dishes. Owner (?) over the top. Initially mildly amusing with his outbursts of song, towards the end this became very irritating. HOWEVER, wait til you get the bill. Horrifically overpriced drinks and bread starter (which we didn’t order and assumed was complimentary) There is apparently no wine list and that is the problem. Do not order drinks until you see the prices. If he won’t tell you then do yourself a favour and leave.

This Isaacco is an Elvis fan who sings completely out of tune and is extremely rude with his clients. He doesn't know italian and the food he serves is on the same level of his Elvis impersonation.

This place is a complete RIP off. Too expensive for what you get. We asked for water and they charged $15 per bottle of water. No ice, room temperature. We should have known with place being empty for dinner. They help themselves to an automatic 20% tip. Food not good.

Food was fantastic, pasta and mussels was delicous and white homewine perfect! Cozy, romantic, italiano atmosphere.

Great restaurant, great food, very great prices. House red wine was really good. The owner even sent us home with a bottle of his own personal wine. When I got the bill, shocked...especially for NYC. This is the type of place you have to tell me to try, because I probably wouldn't walk in from the street. Well, now I am telling you to try it out. Won't be disappointed.

We accidentally found this delightful restaurant. while strolling through Hell’s Kitchen. The ambiance from the outside was compelling. It was an early dinner for us. we were the first customers and we loved the interior as we walked through. The wait staff was very attentive. The music was a little loud but with our request, was turned down. Did I mention the music was Elvis! Later, we found out that Elvis is the last name of the owner. The lasagna Bolognese was fabulous. My partner had the spaghetti carbonara, which was the best we’ve ever had. Terrific bread with a dipping oil with cooked onions and herbs. With a glass of wine, it ended up being a reasonably priced dinner. The owner showed up, and after we chatted with him, handed us a bottle of wine as a gift with a personalized label! We since learned that he had planted grapes in front of the restaurant many years ago, and they are producing! This is definitely worth a return. Ambience alone is a 12 on a 10 scale.

Inviting, homey, cozy, tastefully small, romantic, charming. And then there's the Food. Best Italian food I've had ( and I've had many ) Thank You Mike ( the manager) for inviting me in from the street. Without his invitation I would have kept walking down the street.

Just around the corner from our hotel, we ventured in one night. Though the service is a bit haphazard, the food is really good and the prices are quite reasonable considering this is NYC. Quite small so either book or go early.

Had an enjoyable small meal which tasted great Portions very small but taste great Quite expensive but Isaac Elvis provided entertainment

We rocked into this interesting restaurant and enjoyed the fun atmosphere created by the owner. We were with a group of 12 and we all agreed the food was quite good, the wine pleasant enough and the "Elvis Impersonator" as we termed the boss, was entertaining if a little bit over the top. However we discovered, when checking our bank statements later, that the invoice we signed and the amount we ended up being charged, were quite different...

At the beginning of December 2022 we ate here many times during our 7 day stay in New York. Isacco is a character and his staff amazing, we were always greeted like long lost friends or family. Food excellant as is the service. Prices for this area of New York fair. Wine was top notch and you would have paid much for this quality in the U.K. If you want restauant quality food, drink and service in the heart of New York and not break the bank, eat here. You will not be disappointed. We hope to return and will make a bee line to this restaurant as we felt like we had left family behind. Lorenzo and Tina Guerrini.

I’ll start by saying that the food was excellent... but they leave much to be desired in service. When we walked in, it smelled heavily of smoke and we were not greeted. Nobody explained to us if there were any featured lunches, how the meals worked, if salad or bread was included, etc. When I asked for bread instead of saying it was coming, I got a “all in good time!”response from the owner. I only asked because nobody told us anything! We had no idea what was going on. The waiter speaks no English and took our order by us pointing which was no big deal, but the owner sat at a nearby table shooting the sh*t and flirting heavily with his guest. He could have helped. We will stick to Little Italy next time!

So I found this little Italian restaurant and the food is absolutely awesome! But when we walked in, I noticed an older man in the back with 70s Elvis sideburns. As we were eating, I noticed every song on the sound system was either sung by Elvis or was a Elvis song sung by someone else. Started to see a pattern. Noticed a framed autograph picture of 60s Elvis on the wall. Got up to check the photos hanging on the wall, and it quickly became clear the owner was an retired Elvis impersonator from Vegas. So told the waiter we were from Mississippi and I worked 25 miles from the birthplace of Elvis and shortly thereafter, “Issac Elvis” came to greet us, took a picture with an Elvis pose and game me a commemorative bottle of wine with his Elvis impersonator photo from The Flamingo decades ago. Oh, the Places You'll Go!

I try really hard to only write reviews where there was a least something good to say - unfortunately, not this time. When we arrived, we had no reservation but were told if we waited, there were a few tables finishing up. Menu looked good so we decided to wait and wait and wait and wait. When we finally sat down, we were treated (by the owner!!!!!!) like second class citizens. He was rude from the very first second we sat down until we left. When asked to explain one of the sauces on a pasta dish, he could not have been more nasty. As he was leaving with the order, we said "Excuse me, we would like to order a bottle of wine". He totally ignored our request. It was at this time that we had enough of his nastiness and hostility. We grabbed our things and got up. He yelled from the water fountain area, are you leaving? We said yes and he very nastily replied "have a good night" with all the hostility he could muster. I would not send my worst enemy there. Even if the had eaten there, the behavior of the owner was awful. We ended up at John's Pizza which was as usual delicious. A

Originally my party had planned on going for Spanish food but got into the city a little too close to our show and decided to try Trattoria Casa di Isacco. It has a very warm ambiance with low lighting. We were greeted immediately by Charlie, our server, who spent the entire dinner making sure our every need was met. For apps we ordered the grilled octopus which was grilled to perfection. We also had the lobster and shrimp special which had a very nice kick and was delicious. We ordered the house red and it was an amazing wine. Our party of four left raving about the experience and even went back after the show to thank Charlie and the rest of the staff for a perfect evening.

We found Trattoria when our initial choice was booked. So glad we found it - great dinner, friendly service and atmosphere. Overall an excellent value!

The food was sub-par. I doubt everything is fresh. My friend had a 'special'. Always ask for the price first! For us it was way too expensive for what it got. The atmosphere is very good. The waiters are extremely friendly. They have to pretend they work at a fancy restaurant, when they don't. The owner sings a number of Elvis songs, which creates a good atmosphere. All in all we had a pleasant evening.

A very varied menu. The food is very good & very tasty. The ambience is a total trip. The wait staff is very attentive.

Wife and I were walking and looking for a place to eat and a man at the traffic light recommended. Came back and ate there with my family 2 days later. Greeted warmly and owner/ manager was helpful— every we ordered he said was his favorite 😄. We had 2 different gnocchi dishes, a spaghetti dish and chicken Parmesan. We all loved our meals and portions were large. Small place great ambiance. Reasonable prices. Great bread!

This was recommended by a bell hop at our hotel which was around the corner from the restaurant. Went fairly early and got a table right away. My husband had the grilled calamari which he said was one of the best he’s tasted. I had prosciutto and melon and the prosciutto was the real deal imported from Italy. For my main I had gnocchi with marinara and it was very good. My husband had veal scallopini and it was very well prepared. Before we left the place was full and people were waiting for tables. They seem to have a loyal following of regulars from the neighbourhood which is always a good sign. Prices are mid-range.

My daughter and granddaughter and I visited here on 26 January 2019. The waiter recommended their "special" of the day which was seafood linguine so we went for that. As the most expensive dish on their menu was $25 we thought it would be reasonably priced how wrong were we. We were charged $138 for two specials, a child portion of lasagna and one glass of wine that is £113 in the UK. We should have gone to The Ivy at that price. They took complete advantage of two women tourists and a small child. Traveller beware of this restaurant they will con you.

This restaurant has a really interesting character. The long narrow room is full of genuine Elvis memorabilia so intricately intertwined with Elvis impersonations that it is difficult to distinguish real from fake. The proprietor is rather an interesting fellow who loves to say “thank you very much” in an Elvis fashion. Elvis also impersonating an Italian who speaks little English (who knows) likes to try to force his “limited edition” Elvis wine on you. A lot of intriguing comings and goings through the restaurant with everything from NYPD, to builders to meat sellers trapping through. The food is actually really rather good but watch your bill, there seems to be no correlation between what you actually eat and what Elvis chooses to charge you

Pleasant setting and eye-catching! Piano bar all quality during our visit The boss is completely west! A real Broadway musical comedy show! This look-alike is hot on the edge of incomprehensible Any and expensive food! The bottle of sparkling water has exorbitant prices (16 euros per bottle!! ) almost imposed by the boss and industrial desserts at 20 euros!! A very very very salty note for any meal!!! To be absolutely avoided

I passed by this place maaaany Times but I never came in... I decide to try and the restaurant is super nice inside.. small and cosy. The food is really good too! The owner can be a little overwhelming lol

Excellent food, excellent atmosphere. Perfect ending for the day. And you get to see Isaac Elvis! He definitely adds atmosphere.

This was right round the corner from our hotel & my Daughter & I had walked past a couple of times , then decided we’d just go in one night . The food was so good if not pricey & our over all experience was very good . The service was quick & professional. Isaaco the owner is a character, maybe a bit full on & doesn’t stop singing once he starts which can be a bit much . That said he was very welcoming & friendly to both myself & my Daughter . I would definitely go back if/ when I visit NYC again

My son and I had such a great experience here that he still asks about this restaurant! Awesome spot, highly recommend!

Ooh lala.. Isaac's spectacular backyard garden, lush, wind free and cozy almost makes you forget there us a pandemic Delicious house red wine paired w our usual favorites makes for a delicious lunch or dinner. This time we ordered the seafood risotto and lasagna. ..fantastic!

I stopped by here on a whim and was delighted to hear beautiful live music! There is a pianist there named Tom who plays on Friday and Saturday nights at 8! I poked my head in to grab an appetizer and a drink after seeing a play nearby and ended up staying to listen for a long time. Tom played some classics as well as some originals. At one point, the owner sang an Elvis tune with him which was pretty entertaining. The food was excellent and the ambience and music really set it off! Looking forward to visiting again!

We decides to go to this restaurante based on the menu. The owner was Nice and Give suggestions. We asked for lasanha (regular), carbonara (regular), linguíni special with seafood (tasty but expensive) and Risoto seafood (poor, to much onions). They served bread with vinagrete sauce as starter that cost 31$. We ask for a glass of Red wine and it was cold from the fridge (not the best experience). The final price was surprisingly high but the worst part was the two of us got sick. Maybe the seafood was not in the best condition. We do not recomend this restaurant.

Beware. Ordered a pasta dish and a beer of unfamiliar cheep brand. The pasta was awful and after taking one bite left the dish untouched while the beer was flat. I was not going to make a big deal until the bill came and included a 20% tip ($45 for the two items). Also, in case one doesn't notice the inclusion of the tip, there was another line where you could indicate another 20% tip for a total of $54. When I told the owner I was not happy with the food and didn't intend to leave 20% I was yelled at and told not to come back there. Not that I had any such intentions.

I went here a week ago for dinner because it was a night to celebrate good things happening!! My sister got into a program at college and I reached 100,000 TripAdvisor readers!! We needed to celebrate all our goodness so that is why we came here!! Now I must tell you that the owner of this place and a guy named Aaron crow both have the craziest lives I’ve ever heard of!! Aaron crow was a little dude in Belgium and he got a needle stuck in his throat and then a rat went on his back and today he’s on America’s got talent shooting arrows at peoples heads and at the same time making them get married!! The only reason I mention him is because I’m a fan but who cares because you want to know about the restaurant!! I heard the owner was born in Spain and became an Elvis impersonator in Las Vegas and now owns this place!! I never knew that Elvis impersonators born in Spain could make such good Italian food!! I learned not to expect anything but the fettuccine amatriciana I got was so good!! The bread and the sorbet I got after were also so good!! I enjoyed the place because it had dark lights, a lot of plants, and they played Elvis music in the background!! If that doesn’t sound fun to you stop reading this and experience it for yourself!!

Of every place visited within this city this is a must stop place to have a meal. Excellent environment that’s on par with traditional Italian food with a gratuitous host and flowing wine. Highly recommend

We were heading for an upscale Italian place and stumbled upon this place...grape vines growing out front, meat and seafood in the window, etc. Very unique. It is very small, 10 or so tables, so the owner offered us a glass of wine while we waited. The menu was loaded with authentic choices. The owner is an eccentric character, loves Elvis and Dean Martin, etc. The house wine was decent and plentiful and the food was great. The desert menu is to die for. You won’t find a more unique dining experience. My daughters and I had a great experience. Not the best food I have ever eaten, but very good. The attraction is the dining experience, one of my favorite ever. We talked about it all the way back to the hotel and felt it was well worth what we paid. I will go back.

This is a fabulous, family owned restaurant with delicious food & very friendly, helpful & appreciative staff. It is authentically Italian. We loved it so much we ate there twice on a recent visit to NYC. Highly recommended!

Fabulous food salad with freshly shaved Romano, clam linguini awesome flavor tender clams, prosciutto and melon with the best prosciutto this side of the Atlantic Attentive service

if you're looking for a quiet dinner , this isn't the place for you. Owner Isacco was super friendly and enthisiastic. He claimed to have the best san gria, dover sole and pasta in NYC, We tried them all, and would not disagree. Sure the music and Isaaco are a little loud, but if you're looking for a fun evening with great food- this could be the place for you.

Lovely food staff/host rude and abrupt remarks made about no alcoholic beverages being ordered so as a result was charged 16 dollars for a bottles of sparkling water

Small inconspicuous location, you could miss it if you weren't looking for it. Trust me, you should look for it! Owner, Isaac, greets you, seats you, and waits on you with a team of assistants that never keeps you waiting. Foods great and reasonably priced, including the specials. When we finished the bottle of wine we ordered, Isaac gave us a taste of some home made wine and finished the evening with white dessert wine on the house. Above and beyond the call of duty, he chatted up my 4 year old grandson and made him feel like a star. To paraphrase Arnold, "We'll be back". Cudos to my cousin Len for recommending this place.

Amazing dinner. We are staying around the corner and simply walked in the door. Frank Sinatra music, roses, huge hunks of good bread, amazing salad, and gnocchi to die for. Service is 100% attentive and friendly. This place has character AND good food. I highly recommend.

Cheating on multiple levels! If you are the Sherlock Homes-type who likes to find out what the next cheating will be this is the right place to go. If you like to enjoy your food and good service avoid this place. Over priced water for $15 a bottle and when you order more water they fill the bottle with tap water and still charge $15. They add service to your bill you didn’t order and add a large fee for using credit card. The food was okay.

The service was attentive but not over baring. The food was great. Ask for the house wine it’s amazing! I hope you get to meet Cesar! What a guy! He lives his food, wine and entertaining his guest! Thank you Cesar from Long Island! Merry Christmas

We stopped here it was really close to our Hotel.. it's a small place but very cute and cozy place..food was good.. appetizer was fantastic...recommend give this a try.

We had a lively dinner at Casa Di Isacco last night. The food was great. The owner is friendly and attentive. We thoroughly enjoyed the dining experience.

The food is prepared with love, the owner is an absolute joy. If you are visiting or live in New York Trattoria Casa di Isacco is a MUST GO!!

This restaurant was recommended by a friend and did not disappoint. We had three waiters (for 2 of us) and the food was fabulous. Isaac Elvis was a gracious host and refilled our original glasses of sangria several times. I had lobster ravioli and then tiramisu for dessert. Even the bread was quite delicious. It is a small restaurant with tons of character. Do go if you have a chance.
New Years Day treat
We looked for several Italian restaurants for dinner and settled on this one since it was convenient and they offered Spaghetti Carbonara. Very intimate dining. Seating capacity is probably no more than 25. Wilson seated us and promptly brought bread and celery in herbs and olive oil along with a bottle of water. We ordered a small carafe of house Chianti which was extremely pleasant. I ordered the Carbonara and my wife ordered Capellini with shrimp and arugula. Both dishes were wonderful and the pasta was cooked to perfection. I’m very picky about my Carbonara and I would give it an 8.5. We finished with Lemon Sorbet and Spumoni. I would recommend this restaurant for any small occasion.
