Excellent staff and atmosphere. Well done to the staff. Always attentive and friendly. We would definitely recommend this place. Food is lovely and great prices.

This restaurant has very friendly and personable waitstaff. Whether you grab a seat at the bar, or choose to dine at a table, there is a variety of food at reasonable prices. Can be a tad loud when crowded, which is most of the time.

I could live on their Shepherd's Pie. Ice cold beer, great music, friendly bartenders. Great choice for one of those unforgivingly cold NY days.

After attending the tree lighting ceremony in Rockerfellar we were all cold and hungry, we stumbled upon this pub on our way back to our hotel, and we weren't disappointed. Food was excellent and we were served by a very friendly staff member called Rachael, she was most helpful and gave us excellent service.

We had just arrived to NYC and were looking for a spot to eat. This pub was just down the street. There was a live band playing. The food order was taken quickly and the food was delicious. Highly recommend this place. Will return for sure next time we are in NYC.

Here we finely found some eatable food in NYC after two evenings of poor diner. Cassidy's is a nice cosy Irish pub, which serves nice pubfood. We had the Shepherds Pie and the inside out burger. It was good!

Try the Corn Beef sandwich and enjoy some cocktails. Cassidy's pub is fun and well priced for the area. Stable after work crowd and some ladies frequent.

We had drinks and dinner here and the drinks were decently priced because of happy hour. The food was great too- the waitresses were really nice in accommodating our reservation.

Not a great pub , the staff were nice but it lacked atmosphere and the plastic Irish feel was not good , wasn't a good spot

I went to Cassidy last night while waiting for a friend. At first, everything was fine — the music, the vibe, the people. But then Miguel, a runner (not a manager), decided to harass me in front of everyone, telling me I was in his way — even though I was simply enjoying the karaoke like everyone else. I politely stepped aside, but he kept coming back aggressively, speaking down to me and ordering me to leave the bar. His tone was full of hostility and ego, not professionalism. It felt personal, like he had a problem with my presence and confidence. When I asked to speak to the real manager, the bartender covered for him, pointing at him and insisting “he’s the manager,” which was clearly not true. I said, “He doesn’t act like a manager. He doesn’t even look like one.” At that point, they ganged up on me and told me to leave, refusing to provide a name or contact for someone in charge. I’m a woman, and I was alone — and I felt humiliated and pushed out for no valid reason. This wasn’t about space. This was about a man trying to assert power over a woman who stood up for herself. Ironically, I was waiting for someone — we had plans to enjoy some drinks together. And if things had gone well, we likely would have tipped generously. My friend is a pilot — generous, classy, and knows how to treat people with respect. Cassidy didn’t just mistreat a woman for no reason… they also lost the kind of customer every bar wants — good energy, respect, and no drama. I don’t care how small the incident seems to them — the way I was treated was abusive, disrespectful and absolutely unacceptable. I will never return to Cassidy, and I hope others think twice before supporting a place that protects staff like Miguel and allows this kind of mistreatment to happen. This kind of behavior is harmful and should not be normalized.

Typical Irish pub close to Times Square. Nothing special. Burger was good. Was quite quiet early afternoon on a Sunday. Very forgettable.

The soups and salads were terrific! However, twice we had flat beer. Our first was a Stella on tap, which was delivered with no head. When we pointed it out, we were told that the keg was not good. We got a different beer, which was also flat. The Guinness on tap was not flat.

Cassidy’s is on 55th Street and it’s a good old Irish pub. One nice pool table. Service is good and beers nice. Curry chips are good!

Cassidy’s Pub is a nice spot in mid town. Food is good and the service is friendly. There is a pool table and also a lot of TV for sport.

Great Irish food with daily specials and a happening bar. I had the burger and a beer, but my friend had the beef stew and mashers. Nothing fancy but a nice way to spend a rainy cold day in NYC.

Great Irish bar with superb Guinness and really great menu and food. Staff are very helpful and the place has a great atmosphere

Walked in after a very busy day sight seeing and shopping around New York, fancied a glass of wine and a chance to relax. When we notified the waitress that we were only there for a drink we received the cold shoulder from all the staff. Waitress and 2 people behind the bar just walked away when we approached to order drinks. Incredible. It felt like the mindset was "if we have to accommodate tourists then we are not interested unless your are going to be dining". We then decided to try Benoits opposite and enjoyed a fabulous couple of hours chatting with the staff and trying the Calvados in this French gem.

This is a lively bar in Manhattan, excellent selection of drinks and the bar staff on our three visits this week were great. Did not eat here but the food looked good also.

What you would want from an Irish Pub. Food was very good and reasonably priced. Our whole party loved it all, go for sheppards pie or Chicken pot pie! Yum!

We ducked into this joint, looking for warmth on an icy day and found an oasis. Warm people, great atmosphere, their own microbeer, bangers and mash, smiling servers, and football (their kind) on the big screen! We're going back, no matter what the weather.

Good beer with typical Irish pub fare. Fast and friendly service. New York prices (more expensive than other cities), but happy to eat there again.

Merely wanting a quick meal after a long day of travel, I found this pub just a few blocks from my hotel. Upon entering the brick-walled establishment with myriad prints in plain view, I could feel a friendly atmosphere which was immediately reinforced by my fun-loving server. In many ways the homebrew Red Ale (refreshing and full bodied) was the best part of the meal. The French onion soup was average at best, filled as it was with tired onions. The house burger (when in Rome…) was a tad cool when it arrived; the side order of mushrooms was forgotten and had to be hunted down. A glass of Shiraz improved the overall result. With the hunger pangs now banished, I disappeared into the night, vowing to find both pleasant atmosphere and fine cuisine in my next night out.

Came across this place by chance whilst out exploring and glad we did. Nice relaxed atmosphere, good spot to take a time out. Average prices but not too busy

Husband and I stopped here after arriving in NYC. We were looking for something casual, quick but quality food. We found this restaurant nearby using Yelp. The atmosphere was exactly what you would expect for an Irish pub...very warm, dark and cozy. We were greeted immediately and sat at a bar table. Server was friendly. We ordered beer, iced tea, and chicken wings to share. Drinks were served quickly and as expected. Chicken wings were served in a reasonable time. The chicken wings were average tasting. Pretty basic. Nothing special. However, we did find a very long, dark hair in our order which kinda killed my appetite. Coincidently, the waitress had long, dark hair. Overall, our experience was just average. I wouldn't go back but I guess it's unfair to judge a place solely on one plate of chicken wings.

Staff are more interested talking to their friends at the end of the bar than attend to customers. Food tasteless and certainly didn’t seem fresh. It’s New York City, don’t waste any time going here.

Negative: Our waitress was pretty ditzy and really didn't know much, nor was she on top of things. I ordered a Long Island and it was disgusting. I had to mix it half and half with a diet coke to make it halfway tolerable (and I'm not a wimp about drinks). Tacos were super spicy (too much for our 11 year old son). Onion rings were THE BEST! YUM! Overall... average pub with bar food... nothing super special but good meal.

Generic Irish pub you'll find anywhere on your travels, staff efficient though not particularly talkative or friendly, only seem interested in the locals or regulars..... On a positive the food is superb.... Go to the Whisky Trader next door, American Style basement bar with friendly staff.

Not great being honest, unfriendly waitress and poor food! Wings were poor and tough, wedges didn't tasty of anything and onion rings were very greasy. We were lucky it was only a lunch. Also no choice but to left a tip as it's stated mandatory.

Irish pub but very quiet on a Monday evening at 10:00 pm. Cold beer from a good range of craft beers on tap.

Not the best service, though it wasn't crowded, but I'd give them another chance. They had a full bar and we were only there for drinks.

Ok, I HATE going into an Irish pub and not finding a single Irish person on the staff! It has always seemed disingenuous to me. This place is staffed by an excellent Irish team that is very attentive and made us feel at home. We didn't eat here, so I can't speak to the food quality, but they had a good selection of draft beers and an Irish "hot chocolate" that my girlfriend loved!

I had the veggie stir fry. It was good. The people I was with had the Shepherd's pie and loved it! The service was good, and friendly. The place was clean. We were there after our visit to MoMA on a Friday night. There were a lot of people, but everything was quick! I would go back there on another visit to the city.

Every time I am in NY, this is my place. Good location, good food and live music during the weekend. You also have live sports and really nice staff. I’ll be back soon

After a hard days shopping found this friendly Irish bar. Service was second to none the food we had was traditional fish and chips and a lovely Irish stew. Lots of people going to the bar and price for beers in midtown very reasonable $7.50. Food was very good ,hot and served quickly. Recommend for eats and drinks.

Hey, it town to play from San Diego. Our hotel the Warwick suggested we go your bar, and FRAN was our waitress and she was GREAT!!!

This was clearly a popular local meeting place and I can understand why. It was lively, fun, with great music, great food and attentive waitstaff. It was our last night in the city and we wanted something casual and Cassidy’s did not disappoint. We will make this a regular stopping place after a day of shopping the next time we visit NYC.

We stopped in on a Sunday night after dinner. We were staying at the Shoreham just up the street. The bar was quiet and we were able to sit together at the bar and have a few drinks. The staff were attentive. We didn't eat, but the food served to those around us looked very good. There were 8-10 beers on tap.Two pints of beer beers, one of them Guinness, came to $12. A great neighborhood bar and an enjoyable place to enjoy a few drinks.

There are quite a few Irish pubs in Manhattan. Great choice for a meal and drink. Menu had lots of traditional dishes like sausage and mash and fish and chips, steaks and salmon. The waitress was very busy but was so efficient and friendly bringing food and drinks to our table. There was scaffolding up outside so we may not have spotted it but we were looking for it as there had been a man advertising it on the corner of 5th ave. Just be aware that when you buy anything in NYC the price you see is not the price you pay. You have to add tax and then on top of that they add or expect a tip which is roughly double the tax. Check to see if they have added service to the bill. Great place near to many attractions like the south of the park and MOMA.

We really enjoyed our visit to this pub which was recommended to us by staff at another bar. The bar has a good selection of beers and a nice separate eating area. The menu was varied and we chose our meal based on recommendations it was very nice indeed.

Great staff! Good appetizers and lunch! Definitely a great hidden jewel in a neighborhood of upscale bars and restaurants.

We were here for lunch on a rainy day. The place was quiet and we were served very quickly. The food was great!

First of all, it was New Year's Eve so the place was busy. Nevertheless, it's a small establishment and I saw at least four servers working the floor so there's no reason it should have taken nearly ten minutes before our presence was even recognized so we could be seated. Things really didn't improve from there. We ordered two drinks which were too strong and took too long to get to us. I know because I could see the bar and the bartender was just walking back and forth casually. Not busy at all. We ordered shrimp cocktail as an appetizer. Hard to screw that up. My girlfriend had the salmon and I ordered the spicy chicken curry. Note the word spicy. Now, note that what I ate didn't have the slightest hint of spiciness to it. It was actually rather bland. My girlfriend's salmon tasted more like tuna and if any attempt was made at seasoning, they missed. The food also took an inordinate amount of time to get to us. It was still hot enough to eat but just barely. After all was said and done, the price I paid for the quality of food and service we received was far out of proportion. I only left a tip because it was New Year's Eve. I'd say give this place a pass. If you want an Irish pub, there are other places in the area that would probably be a better value.

Came across Cassidys on a recent trip to NYC staff were welcoming and friendly, food wax excellent and reasonably priced, to be fair couldn't fault it.

On a chilly day in NYC we stopped in here for a light bite. Hubby had the French Onion soup and I had the Lentil, both were delicious and just right for the weather. The restaurant had a nice atmosphere so we were surprised it was so quiet. In any event we enjoyed our lunch.

Average-at-best bar fare - in our group of 3 there were two singles and a strikeout. Below average service, even when we were the only table in the place. Not really sure how they can call themselves an Irish pub -- it's really just a below average neighborhood pub with an Irish accent or two. Dismal beer selection. It is a few bucks cheaper than many of the other places in the area, but you get what you pay for!

Been to NYC twice and discovered this gem by accident on our first trip. It was a "first bar we saw when we left the hotel" type deal. Best mistake we ever made! Excellent pub grup, beers and service! After the first vacation we'd always joke when trying to decide on a place to go eat, we'd always say "Cassidys!" When we went back to NYC in Oct-2011, it was one of the first places we went. The staff is largely Irish and super friendly. The pub grub menu was excellent, some of the best chicken wings I've ever had. The same with the quesedilla's. They did not disappoint. Looking forward to my next trip to NYC so we can visit Carolyn and the gang!

Excellent bar/pub/restaurant to enjoy a few beers and wholesome freshly cooked meals. Ate here twice during a recent visit, excellent, friendly service and the food was delicious and reasonably priced. Portions were great and as others have said, the beef nachos are worth the visit on their own. Also had the beef stew and mash which was hearty and delicious. Good selection of beers and spirits and a friendly atmosphere, what's not to like.

Off the main drag, so the people traffic was much less. We were there Christmas weekend to see the City and the Rockette's Christmas show. Insane amount of people, so this was a welcomed location, but still walking distance to Radio City Music Hall. There was 7 of us in our group, so we called ahead for a reservation (googled restaurants in the area) for 5:30 pm. Being a Friday night the bar was hopping with locals. Took us forever to get someone to acknowledge us to show us to our table, and even longer for a drink even though there was only 2 tables of people in the dining area. However, after that everything went great. The food was very good, and the service got better. The dining area was totally full by time we left to go to the show. Didn't have the Irish Pub feel to me, but it was clean, nicely decorated, and did the trick for us. We would go back if we lived in the area.

We were going to go to one of the more 'upmarket' restaurants in the area but they all needed reservations so we chanced upon Cassidy's. Great drinks, nice food, a typical pub-type menu but good quality food and great service, can't be faulted!

We were in the City for the Thanksgiving Day parade. We went Wednesday and came home Saturday morning. We discovered Cassidy's on Wednesday and had lunch. We went back after the parade on Thursday for drinks and an appetizer. On Friday we stopped back in for a drink. Their food is delicious and the bartenders were so friendly. If this place was near where we live, it would absolutely become our local bar.

Sat in Cassidys sheltering from a cold January Sunday. Good selection of beers and friendly service. Watching the AFC Final - though no idea what is going on! We aren't eating but everyone else's food looks good. Children are obviously welcome as there is a little one sat in a high chair. They have posters up for an 'open mic' on Tuesdays.. though we'll be gone by then.

Found Cassidy's on accident, but glad we did. We did dinner one night which was delicious, then returned the next two nights for evening drinks and fun. One night was karaoke with a DJ and a lot of fun. Met others just visiting the city and some locals that we ended up spending additional time with. The clientele was diverse. The proprietors seem like hard-working friendly people. Give them a try.

The bar was stumbled upon as it’s abit out of the way of anything, we stayed for a few drinks and enjoyed trying their own beer which was good! Prices were good and atmosphere was nice. Bar was quite busy considering location!

We went to Cassidy's on the recommendation of the bell captain at the Warwick Hotel, where we are staying. I had the Chicken mushroom pie (a special of the day), and it was delicious! It is a typical Irish pub. A bit loud, but that is part of the atmosphere. The service was friendly and efficient. I would eat here again.

Very nice small Irish pub, well located and cozy. Special prices for the Happy Hour (5-8 pm). Service very good and excellent nachos. We also had cold draft beers.

First time in New York. Had heard a lot about the burgers. This place came through. Excellent price. Great happy hour beers. And that burger mmmmm. Had sports on TV and service was prompt friendly and efficient. Would recommend after a long day looking at the sites

Great food, very tasty. Nice specials of the day Clean and friendly place. Close to Central Park and Time Squares

Spent far too long here on my latest trip to New York. Really great service from lovely people in a nice atmosphere. Beer is cheap and the outdoor seating is a nice place to relax in the afternoon/evening amidst the chaos of Manhattan!

Stopped by for some drinks late one evening. Just a plain old allright bar. Nothing great and nothing bad. Which is what we where looking for :)

We were stuck in Manhattan and they are just like family!! Love them!! They knew most of the patrons by name and were very professional! We did choose the closest Irish pub from our hotel but this one was really really personable!! Loved it!

Stopped there for a quick late lunch/snack. Great pastrami sandwich to share, and the pint of good Guinness very welcome. Lovely staff, especially the Irish lasses:-)

Traditional, wholesome food which totally hit the mark after a very, very busy day. The cottage pie is to die for!!

Irish pub in Manhattan. Good music, good service. We ordered some nachos as entrees and then draft beer. I liked the atmosphere and the central location. I'd come back.

We found it a tourist trap. No drinks prices on menu. We asked waitress, told us $25, she then looked around at someone and said let me check, apologised had price, wrong should be $35!! Credit card surcharge aswell. Take a photo of receipt after you write tip on, absolute must!!

we entered this place without knowing anything about it. it ended up being a good experience as the bartender was really cool. it has a mix off all the people from the tourists to the workers to the rich. i liked it

We went this way after having some drinks at the Whiskey Trader next door. We split the buffalo chicken sandwich which was very good, fries were great as well. Service was good. For a Saturday afternoon so close to Central Park we thought it would be busier but we got right in and it was a nice relaxing lunch. Would definitely eat there again.

Looked like a nice, friendly Irish restaurant on the outside. Inside, nothing Irish about it. The music was terrible POP music. The seemingly long-time bartender didn't know they had a Corned Beef sandwich (on the menu). That should have been a red flag for us. My Corned Beef sandwich was the worse! No mustard was offered to cover up the bland, chewy, horrible corned beef. The husband's pastrami sandwich was just as dried out and horrid. We left most of it on the plate but received no questions as to why. Couldn't get out of there fast enough. If you are looking for an Irish restaurant, this isn't it.

I met with 4 others for drinks and a light supper. The space is nice and is very large. It was fairly busy, but not crazy. The drinks took FOREVER to get. We had to keep waving at our waiter to get any attention. Two of the dishes were not good. One was a lobster special that was under cooked so it was swapped for a scallop dish. I was interested in the watermelon gazpacho, but wanted a tiny taste before I spent $9 on a bowl. The waiter would not give me a spoonful in a little cup to taste it, so he lost out on a potential sale. All in all, the service was terrible and the food only so-so for the fairly high prices. The drinks were okay if you're not in a hurry. I will not be going back any time soon...

Reasonably priced, good food and beer. The fries were were fantastic, the burger was fantastic. A nice find.

Typical Irish bar in NYC. Good to kick back with a Guiness and watch a game. Friendly bartenders and good service.

Dropped into Cassidys for a break from sightseeing on a hot day. Friendly attentive staff, hot food and strong cocktails 👍🏻 Just what we wanted after cycling Central Park

We stopped here for a late lunch the day following our arrival. We had one of their special burgers that really is special and not just hype. The staff are courteous and if is apparent that they like their job and their customers. This is one place in NYC that seems to have it all and all together..

Popped in here for a couple of cool drinks after a central park bike hire. In between Central Park and Times Square, a couple of nice cold beers and Spritzers for my wife. Easy going and straightforward Irish style bar.

We wandered in to this pub during our last visit to NYC. I had the tuna melt and fries. The food was good and the pub has a nice atmosphere. Prices are reasonable for NYC. The waitress was friendly and efficient. We will eat here again.

I had over an hour to kill before I was to meet someone for lunch on afternoon. I was walking across 57th street when I noticed the daily special advertised on the sign in front of the place. There is modest outdoor seating in front so I asked the wait staff if it would be OK to sit out there, drink a diet coke and wait for a while for lunch. i explained that I was meeting someone in about an hour and that the lunch would be fast after that. My waitress smiled and in her Irish accent said of "course, no problem". This was genuine and something that I had not expected in a busy midtown pub at lunchtime. The place was packed with younger professionals who obviously knew this pub. Loud and busy inside but it had a great feel that added to the nice day. As i had an idea as to what time my guest would meet me, I order ahead of time. The waitress made sure that the time was right and the food was on the table just as y guest arrived. The food is typical pub grub but was served hot and very tasty. Great veggie burger and salad that satisfied both of us..... I can imagine that this place stays busy at night so if your looking for an Irish experience try Cassidy's.

Surprising number of very gpod choices for lunch at pub where large crowd is mainly at bar, leaving lot of space for dining

We ate there last night. The food was fair but the service was poor. Side salad was nothing but shredded lettuce that you put on a sandwich with some onions and a couple of tiny pieces of tomato and the Shepards pie was fair. The waitresses were more interested in sitting together at a table and talking than waiting on us. We were the only people there in the restaurant part most of the time.

was impressed last week when I visited Cassidy's for the first time during the complete white out snow storm in NYC Bar was lively and full food service offered. excellent service and modest prices. many pubs and restaurants close by were closed due to the weather conditions. shared a large round table to which the barman was happy to bring drinks. will certainly return.

A little dark inside unable to read menu without torch ! Quite noisy Good choice of beers and snacks Reasonable prices Toilets not clean and small Waitress service very good Ideal for quick drink and snack

Very friendly pub, the bartender was very nice and always new when to chime in or get the next drink. Most relaxing place to have a drink.

I live in Midtown, but never go out at night in the area. A friend was in a town and wanted to stay close to her hotel, so we decided to check out Cassidy's. Bar was empty on a Saturday night, and had a small band playing live music. Decent-priced drinks, good service. Didn't try any food. It was just the perfect environment we were looking for, since all the other bars are so loud and hard to have a conversation.

We went on Karaoke night, I DO NOT recommend this. They have a regular who was OFF the WALL, very loud and obnoxious almost hard to even stand (I left early due to this). There were some really great singers but he really ruined the vibe. The food was ok, average and average price and the staff was ok. The location was very convenient to the location of our hotel (The Shoreham). Nothing special in particular but a decent place to eat.

We went here with a friend from the area. We had traditional pub food, although there were Irish options on the menu. They offered everything from hamburgers and wings to bangers and mash! We also discovered that it was happy hour until 9am with $6 glasses of wine -- almost unheard of in NYC. I would definitely come back here again when in the area.

Nice Gem on 55th street! The restaurant was clean, the service was good, and the food was outstanding! For starters, our table ordered the nachos with bee and the mozzarella sticks. Very goos, came out fast and hot. For my meal, I ordered a Black Jack Burger - ground beef mixed with worchester sauce & red onion with jack cheese & cajun mayo....I have to say it was one of the BEST burgers I have had in my lifetime. It was cooked perfectly and came out nice and warm. Also, the cajun mayo sauce was one of the best sauces I have ever had with a burger. All the flavors complimented each other. Prices were reasonable, would eat here again

Stopped in on a week night (Wednesday) and expected quiet and half full. Nope. Loud. Full and hopping. Service kept from getting five stars. Server was good not great. Food was above average for a pub. Several Wednesday night $10 specials and buckets for $20 (domestic) and $25 Good place to bring a date (maybe not first).

The first thing I will say is that we didn't eat so I can't comment on the food. We had drinks only. My wife and teenage kids had spent most of the day walking and thought we'd take a break by having a drink in Cassidys. The bar was busy and we were shown to a table at the back. I told the waitress that we were only having drinks which seemed fine but she said that "if your having drinks you order them from me". Fair enough I thought but aside from bringing the drinks, she did nothing else. No pleasantries and not particularly attentive or in any way friendly. The draught beer that me and my wife had was flat. I left a 5 dollar tip which was just over 10 percent (it was all the cash I had on me anyway). The waitress had gone for her break by the time paid although she was outside the front door and didn't even acknowledge us when we came out. In hindsight I'm sorry I left any tip for what we got.

Very local pub near Times Square. We stopped by chance seeing a lot of New Yorkers doing happy hour where beer costs $6... pleasant surprise, excellent service, top atmosphere, super prices for being in the center of Manhattan. Good and plentiful food. Super recommended

We wandered into Cassidy's for lunch after wandering around downtown. The ambience is that of an older Irish pub. Its a very large restaurant and we had no issue being seated. We didn't have much time, as we were catching a show, and our server was very fast and attentive during our time there. We ordered a round of drinks, and the mixed drinks were nice and strong...almost too strong! The server recommended we order salads and sandwiches, as they would be out faster. I ordered the Chicken Cobb Salad ($14), which was pretty standard with grilled chicken, crumpled bacon, avocado, diced egg, Bleu cheese, tomato and field greens- a bit overpriced for what was served. I disliked the balsamic dressing it came with (thankfully it was on the side), so I ordered honey mustard instead. My friends appeared satisfied with their various salads and sandwiches, and we were in and out in the amount of time we had. I wouldn't make a special trip to come back here, although maybe their other bar snacks and entrees are tastier.

Cassidy's is our #1 favourite spot to visit when we are in NYC. We came across it last year for our annual Mother/Daughter trip and can't wait to visit when we come back. Callum and Callum are the best! So kind, welcoming and make you feel a part of the Cassidy's family. We will see you next time! Thanks for the amazing memories.

I like this place. I've been here for drinks before dinner with friends, and this time I took my family here for lunch. The two of us that got the cheeseburger were very satisfied. My husband got the Philly cheesesteak and was not impressed. He thought it was bland. Service was quick though and based on my own meal, I give the place a big thumbs up!

The burger and fries is perfect, and good beer. This was exactly what I was looking for. Great service.

Clean and friendly just what we needed after a long day shopping and in Central Park - food was good and we were served quickly as well as being checked on - will return for nice cold beer 🍻😂🗽🇺🇸

I’ve come here during lunch hours, since I worked in the area and they have decent lunch selections. BUT the evening crowd is a bit raunchy and cheapens the place. During the day the bartenders are nice, especially the one who went on maternity leave. However, today I had an awful experience with a very old belligerent drunk, who must’ve have stepped away from “a seat”, certainly not “his seat” because he certainly didn’t own it, that I sat in. I asked if anyone was sitting in the spot, since I saw money left on the counter, appearing as if someone paid and left. But I received mixed answers. Then this dirty looking man appears and states, I’m in his seat. The guy next to me pulls another seat from behind us and put it in between us. The dirty drunk starts arguing with him. Because I’m not in the mood to sit next to a smelly, dirty drunk old man anyway. I immediately give up the seat. I can hear him saying something about the black women in “his” seat and why I sat in it. Uh, because it was empty?! He continues saying disrespectful things. The bartenders didn’t do or say anything. This is a business, we both are patrons. I’ve never seen a reputable establishment allow such behavior. I’ve never felt so disrespected at a place I’ve frequented and encouraged co-workers to frequent. The bartenders continued serving and catering to this degenerate as if he wasn’t a horrible nuisance, seemingly condoning his behavior. But never again. Stay away from this place and its gross clientele.

A cold welcome from staff in an empty pub! Food was average at best. Our waitress decided to sit opposite our table and eat her lunch. (Not saying she can't have a break). But due to this no one replaced her as our waitress. She then finished her food and never came back to our table. I had to place all further orders at the bar. I was then shocked to find that Cassidys add the tip to the bill, where as most places give you the option to tip. If a restaurant adds a tip to customers bills then they should ensure that their service is great!

Dropped in the bar nice mix of locals business and work men food seems good, not bad prices, friendly staff

we decided we were hungry just as we approached Cassidy's and we left there so full we could hardly walk. Good pub food in a great pub atmosphere.

Good food, good craic. If looking for a bolt-hole to get reliable food and drink in NYC then look no further. The waitress on Monday night (27 March) didn't helpfully highlight that service was included unlike the waitress on the Wednesday and Saturday (with a smiley face and circled on the check). That said, food and drink great.

Food was very good but it was a pub afterall. For those looking for the ultimate dining experience it's maybe not the spot but if you're looking for a hearty meal it does the trick just grand, staff very friendly too

Ate here on a Saturday afternoon in December. The restaurant was unbearably warm for some reason. I ordered the Caesar salad and didn't care for the dressing at all. Husband had bangers and mash and he said he's had better. The other bad thing was the service. Friendly enough but we had no ketchup and no salt on the table so we had to go fishing around other tables for them because the waitress never returned to check on us. We also had to wait forever to pay the bill. Little annoying things like that make for a bad experience. The food really wasn't enough to make up for the service. Skip it...in a city like New York there are SO many better options.

I was in NYC for a few days of business and wanted to enjoy a good Irish Pub during lunch. Cassidy's is a lot of fun with great food. I recommend their Shepherd's Pie with some Guinness Stout. On another day I decided to have a NYC Reuben and New York Cheese Cake. Maybe not Irish but they did that very well too. There's a very long bar if you want to socialize or you can perch at tables. The waitresses are super friendly, fun and have that beautiful Irish accent that always draws me to a good Irish Pub. Cassidy's is an excellent Irish Pub on West 55th close to Central Park.

Great atmosphere, beautiful food and service, went back StPatrick days same again . Well looked after by Sinead and staff in bar.would recommend bar to @nyone travelling to nyc

The owner may or may not be racist. Refused to serve us as SOON as we walked in . After sitting quietly waiting for 10 minutes for service . I asked for water and he said "no cause I had a nasty attitude. " -when I recorded it it started to say crazy things like im discriminating against him cause he's Irish.... I think he's use to getting away with not serving African Americans when he decides to cause he knew how to flip the truth of his actions. The restaurant needs to be investigated

Didn't take long to feel welcomed and enjoy a couple of pints in here. Great staff and great atmosphere. We returned a second night and there were more people in there chilling after work and it was a great buzz.

My review is pretty much the same as that of Pete W!! Got handed a leaflet by a guy with a board, he directed us to the pub and hey presto. An Irish bar/restaurant in the middle of Manhattan. The food was fabulous, the service really good and we also got chatting to one of the staff who was exceptionally friendly and full of good advice about the city. Unfortunately didn't get back in the evening to experience the nightlife, but will certainly be back in the future.

We strolled past Cassidy's having been to Central park, and had a fab lunch - we sat outside, and watched the world go by, always in such a hurry... great bar maids, with great Irish sense of humour.

Food was ok nothing special. Staff more interested in talking amongst themselves than clean tables and attend to customers. Not attentive. Drinks weren't great.

We needed a quick pit stop for a drink and maybe some grub and came across this place in our travels. It looked a bit omonious from outside and dark, but this must have been the canapy outside. Once across the threshold, it was a nicely lit bar that turned out to be quite spacious inside. We orders a drink and perused the menu...which was quite good for choice as I remember. I had an unusual creation - a BLT in a wrap with crispy bacon used - it was actually quite nice! and very edible. Coupe of beers also went well to wash it down. The Gratuity was included in the bill - so watch for that. All in all a very nice place and we had marked it down for a secod visit, but never made it back - will keep it in our minds for the next time we visit though as it was a pretty good spot to rest up for another venture out into the Big Apple. AStaff were pleasant and helpful too. The toilet was ok - not very spacious, but clean enough to use.

Cassidy’s pub and restaurant is located on 55th near 6th Ave. nice friendly bar with a pool table. Good music. Food was also good.

Place was quiet, music wasn't overly loud, you can talk to one another at the table. Somewhat of an Irish flare. American football on TV, not soccer ?????? Over 12 different beers on tap. Just stopped in for drinks. Staff was ok. Free WiFi, a plus for international guests.

We found this Jem close to our hotel. Normally pubs tend to be busy and service is slow. Not here. Food and drink service is incredibly fast and the servers are friendly and attentive. We found ourselves returning here several times for refreshments during our 5 night stay in NYC. They have local bands and entertainment during the evenings.

We like fish and chips and everywhere we go we try them: England, Denmark, the Netherlands... We used to have it on 57th and 8th (mostly for a James Cagney's picture on a wall) but it started coming out burnt. So we moved to Cassidy's where it is excellent and it even comes with some coleslaw to improve the salad. Perfect fries. That and two pints of Guinness and one thinks that the poor people who invented the dish (wrapped in newspaper) for its being inexpensive left us a very respectable legacy. Try Cassidy's by all means, it`s one of the good ones.

This pub was on the way to dinner engagement k had and, because I was early, I stepped in for a quick Guinness. Pretty average. Waiters seemed more focused on talking about their day and when I finally got to order, the Guinness was not the 'cold' advertised.

I have always been sceptical about Irish pubs outside the island of Ireland. I was very pleasantly surprised about this place. On a Midweek evening three UK visitors found a lively sorts bar rammed with locals enjoying the ambience, food, drink and the company. Many UK pubs struggle to achieve this. She who must be obeyed had Shepherd Pie, my daughter a Burger variant, and I had the Full Irish Breakfast. All food was of excellent quality, but the Full Irish surpassed my expectations. This ex British Army veteran of 'The Troubles' can assure Cassidy's that even in the absence of Potato Farls and Soda Bread, this is a fine clone of the Ulster Fry. For the benefit of the uninitiated the Ulster Fry is a coronary on a plate if consumed too often. I can't feel my arteries hardening yet so the chef is to be congratulated! Drinks were well served, and the evening was very good value for money. We will return next time in NYC.

Went to Cassidy's for a little karaoke to end off my NY trip. It was easily the best night of my trip. Great group of people, all locals. Highly recommended!

We went there for lunch. The service is good, the burgers were delicious, but it was incredibly loud, although there was no music playing (maybe the acoustic of the room had something to do with it)

While in NYC for a week, we had supper here three times. Service was very good and the food superb, from excellent Kobe beef and sirloin burgers to chicken fingers to the best tenderloin steaks. One distinguishing feature was the staff paying attention to my wife's food allergies.

This restaurant draws a crowd which can be accredited to good food, friendly service and a nice variety! Not the greatest place for acoustics as everything is brick, metal or wood.

During our stay in NY, we had dinner together with my husband and kids nearby the hotel at the pub CASSIDY's on the 55th. We had a delicious meal and, of course 2 good beers. We were charged 134,27$ for that and we decided to add an tip about 15%. Back in France, we realized that CASSIDY's took 92 $ for tip, means 92% !!!!!!! Unacceptable!!!! Double check your bill and ask for it before leaving this PUB. Just not honest and fully unfair !!

Interesting Irish Restaurant in that the menu is simple pub food but plentiful. I had a Corn Beef Reuben which was excellent and the accompanying fries were very tasty. Needless to say the Pub provides more than adequate and tasty beers.Reasonably priced !

We visited last night to get a drink and then some simple food. The service was very friendly and good throughout. Overall the food was below par. The French dip was over cooked, tough and chewy. The corned beef sandwich was okay. Shepherds pie was nice although it was actually a cottage pie. The beef sliders were okay but very expensive for what they were. Potato skins again expensive for such a small portion and they weren’t great. We got a table in a corner but the music was very, very loud so we had to shout to communicate with each other. This was made worse by a really loud, obnoxious table sat next to us who were totally inconsiderate. They even spilled drinks and then demanded the server clean them up. Really rude. Obviously not the restaurant’s fault but it did not help the experience.

Liked it. Good Staff. The live entertainment was nice. They had a singer/songwriter entertaining. And she was good.

What can I say about this place. Amazing food. Great atmosphere. Great service and food. 10/10 I didn't get the waitress name but she will remember me by saying that I would marry the chef lol. Thank you for making our visit special

We spent a most pleasant hour here chatting with the paddy's and like so many of these similar bars you're made to feel very welcome.

It's a loud, friendly, Irish Pub. I had a burger -- much better than average. Great service as well. It's not the cheapest food I'd ever had, but it's NYC.

Visited cassidys couple of times in July while on holiday in New York. Bar prices are OK. Food we did not try. Bar staff working on the first night were very good. Staff who were working on second visit not so good. Young lady very inexperienced. Gave her $20 dollars for drinks that came to 14$ no change brought back. Finally came over a while later to see if we wanted the 6$ dollars change.

The Shepherds Pie was delicious with a cold beer. There were several locals in there which is a good sign. It's definitely a meat and potatoes (Irish) place and I loved that. I was glad I stumbled upon it while walking around.

look out for the specials in this place really reasonably priced for NYC, decent pub grub, made fresh to order, quick, courteous service, nice friendly atmosphere,

Stopped here after work for drinks and dinner with friends. Dined at the bar; beer was cold and bar tender attentive and friendly. Decided to stay at the bar and nosh. Ordered the jalepeno poppers and the fish (COD) sliders. They were amazing; the fish was cooked perfectly, crispy and hot served on toasted slider buns with coleslaw tucked inside. Served with fries, this was a dish I had never tried before and now would seriously return if it was not a flight away. Oh, and ordered an Irish coffee to cap off evening. Good!

We had 8 adults eat, and we all were pleased with our mealsTuna Melt was OK. I just got the Chicken Caesar Wrap, and I must say the chicken was a little bit dry. This is a typical pub food. The service was wery good.

Tried the cod sandwich with lentil soup. Sandwich was very good but soup was watery and lacked flavour. Told waitress I did not care for the soup could I please have fries instead. Was charged for the fries without being told. Husband also had the cod special but wanted fries instead of the soup. Asked waitress if ok to change out. She said yes. But charged 5.95! Didn’t appreciate not being told of extra charges. Would try some other place. Manager did remove the charges but added there was nothing wrong with the soup. Wish we would have read tripadvisor reviews beforehand, which we didn’t.

Having had a long and busy day (as is often the case in NYC!), my husband and I sought a welcoming bar that offered decent food in a relaxed atmosphere. We wandered around for a while looking at various restaurants but none quite fitted the bill in terms of what we wanted until we found Cassidy's. My husband had a burger and I ordered a steak salad that was one of the specials, and we each had a glass of Malbec. It was all very nice and reasonably priced, especially by New York standards.

We are here for a few days so weren't sure where to stop for a bite to eat. Saw cassidys pub and decided to try it. Busy with locals, friendly, quick service and excellent food. Definitely will go back again while we are still here.

Great Atmosphere. Very busy indeed. Good food and huge plateful. Just dropped in for dinner. Did not have to wait long for a table. Staff friendly

We visited the bar on a few occasions during our visit to New York and enjoyed the atmosphere, good food and drinks all served by friendly staff.

Popped in here after a walk through a wet Central Park. Had a welcome pint of Guinness which was my first in about 3 weeks. A typical Irish pub such as you find all over the world now. It was afternoon so not very busy but a welcome break from the rain.

The staff was pleasant and the atmosphere fun. But everything was a bit dirty and the food was just okay. Definitely a place for a beer while you're making other plans for food.

Stopped for a cold beverage after a long day wandering NYC. Lots of locals there, a variety of beer available. Nice cozy neighbourhood pub! We did not eat there.

6 of us went for dinner at Cassidys and got the round table near the restrooms The service was great, the food was lovely and the Cassidys draught beer surprisingly nice Just fix that table guys!!

Stopped off for lunch on route back to our hotel. Was drawn to the place initially as my maiden name was "Cassidy", so glad we went as food and service was very good. The restaurant was heaving - always a good sign! We shared a nacho starter and had a main each. Food choice was good and tree dishes we ordered were tasty and enjoyable. Can certainly recommend for anyone visiting NYC.

After spending a soggy day in Central Park, walking into this cozy pub hit the spot. Food was surprisingly really good. Most everyone in my party ordered the french onion soup. Delish! I tried the tomato. Not so good. Tasted like watered down marinara. Very odd. I also ordered a grilled cheddar cheese with bacon and tomato--off the charts good. They served it open faced because of the mounds of bacon on it. There's no such thing as too much bacon. Burgers were had by others and were also very good.

We ate lunch at Cassidy's Pub because our daughter is named Cassidi. Food was great. Had the inside out burger! My mouth is watering thinking about it! everyone's food came out promptly and correct. Food was hot and tasty.

We stopped here for lunch on a cool, damp day. The pub was warm and inviting. The food was what you can expect from an Irish pub. Nothing special but definitely hit the spot when you want to feel warm and satisfied. If you're in the area, not a bad place to poke in for a bite.

There is nothing fancy about this place. We had a good reasonably priced meal. Shepherd's Pie and Fish and Chips were excellent. Bangers and Mash were also good. People were having fun watching the soccer game but no one got carried away. All in all it was a pleasant surprise.

My father and I found this pub on our third night in New York, and for the rest of our stay it was the only place we ate at. The food was always excellent; the staff were so welcoming and polite and were always up for having a chat and making sure everything was going well for you. On a bonus, it's an Irish pub and some of the staff were actually Irish, I felt right at home and it was so nice hearing a familiar accent!! Reasonably priced too, especially for New York. Can't wait to go back in the summer!

Recently on our First Visit To New York City my self and my wife stayed at the Fitzpatrick Hotel Manhattan and on our arrival went went for a stroll towards Fifth Avenue once reaching it we turned down 55th Street and came upon Cassidys Bar we entered we the intention of a having maybe a drink or two before returning to our Hotel . On finding a seat we were served by a most charming young lady named Vicky who took our order and on arriving with our drinks asked if we were staying in New York for long and when we told her that we were on a six day shopping and sight seeing visit she quickly brought us a map of the city highlighting the main attractions and how to get to them. She also introduced us to her colleague Sarah and a barman named Tommy who were both so so helpful and welcoming that we both new that out stay in NYC was going to be most enjoyable. We ended up having something to eat which was most enjoyable and great value for money before having another drink and leaving . We did return again and we have to say the with staff like Vicky, Sarah & Tommy its easy to see why Cassidys seems to be a most popular venue for people for afterwork drinks as the staff the beer and the food are of a most HIGH QUALITY Thanks again to the staff members of Cassidys for starting our holiday on such a great note

Ordered Filet steak and potatoes. I live in the Midwest so this was a great treat!! Tastes amazing seasoned perfect ! !!!

I was here on St Patrick's Day and there was a lively atmosphere with lots of people dressed up in green.

Walking along Fifth Avenue one Saturday afternoon and we were starting to get peckish. We were asked by a guy holding a sign if we wanted to go for lunch in this place and gave us directions (just of Fifth Ave). All the staff we spoke with were Irish and one of our group was also Irish, they ended up chatting about the Emerald Isle. We had lunch there, I picked a steak which was cooked to perfection and washed down with a nice cold beer. That evening we had gone out for a walk around and looking for somewhere to go for a drink. We decided to go back to Cassidys to see what the nightlife was like in there. The waitress had told us at lunch time that it was a good place to be at night. She was absolutely right, we had a scream in there listening to the live music. The guy and girl behind the bar were also Irish. So, its not just called an Irish bar, it is staffed by Irish people too! Give it a go, you will enjoy it for sure.

We were just walking by and happened to be a bit hungry so stopped in. Glad we did. Nice, casual Irish Pub atmosphere and good food. I always have to try the Shepherd's Pie when I come across one and this was no disappointment.

In what universe do you walk into a restaurant with food from the 5 guys down the street.! And then attack the bartender for implementing the policy that you cannot bring food into a restaurant! I'm appalled. The staff in Cassidy's are great and always in great form.People are soooo rude.

Just back from a week in New York and I would recommend anyone to go into cassidys pub , a very friendly pub ,food amazing, drinks no too expensive best night is a Friday night karaoke atmosphere so good , I went to New York for 5 days and was in cassidys every day, I will definitely be back to new york and DEFINITELY be bsck in cassidys

Really good food, we tried both hamburgers and some meat dishes! It deserves to be accompanied by a good draft beer!

We went here after walking from the ambassador theater to see Chicago and they staff were so lovely l only went for one drink and talked to a lovely bar man called John also an Irish person same as myself so we had a great conversation. It was like being home for a little bit so you definitely get the irish experience except for all the shamrocks and american flags above we don't have that home :-P

We wanted someplace close to our timeshare, The Manhattan Club. Cassidy’s is only a couple of blocks away. My husband and I both had the fish and chips and were pleased with the fish (tasty and two large pieces), Cole slaw and fries (steak fry cut). The menu has various interesting options such as bangers and mash, and prices are very fair for NYC. Our server was excellent. We were there mid-afternoon and the bar was busy. It was somewhat noisy but you would expect that in a pub. All in all, we were pleased!

Prompt, friendly, and pleasant server; food tasty, prices reasonable. While a sports bar / pub setting, not too noisy so we could talk. Good place to relax.

Went here on our 3rd night food lovely and service excellent, going back for lunch before airport home, definitely worth a visit if you are in area
Good NYC Irish pub and sports bar
We were concerned that some reviews were not so good but we were in the neighborhood and the timing was right to eat lunch at Cassidy’s. We recommend this pub. Excellent service. It is a sports bar with many screens. We had bangers and mash and fish and chips. All very tasty. If you like bangers more done remember to ask. Fish crispy and fries very good. Generous portions. Reasonably priced. Smithwicks on tap cold and good.
