Absolutely recommended. Clean, you don't come out smelling, very good food. Great service. High quality, and you can find them from simple Chinese dishes like beef with broccoli to bring more local and sought after, maybe unknown and to try. The atmosphere is modern, compared to classic Chinese restaurants. Great bar for cocktails. One of my favorite places and I always go back. Fair price, hearty dishes.

The food here is very good. The waitstaff generally good. Last night our meal was ruined by an extremely aggressive bleached blonde guy who took offense when we sent back a single glass of red wine which we both agreed was terrible. From then on this guy was passive aggressive to the point that I had to tell him to chill out. When we ordered he had the gall to tell us if we didn’t like the dishes we couldn’t send them back. WTH?Fortunately, a kind female took over and eased the situation while waiter #1 angrily hovered nearby. I won’t go back as long as the first waiter is employed there, and I’ve been a regular client. All over a glass of wine. Sheesh!

We had reservations and were seated promptly. We ask about sweet and sour chicken which was not on the printed menu. The waiter said they in fact serve it. I had seen the dish on the Google map listing. The service and foot were good.

This is a creative and upscale restaurant. We enjoyed the food very much.Liked truffle beef tenderloin and crispy chilli chicken.Kudos to the chefs.

Had lunch with my son at Chi. We wanted to have General Tso Chicken and needed to find a Chinese place midtown. We looked for reviews and the best + closest place we were able to find was Chi. It was a pleasant surprise. The food was really tasty, the restaurant was clean and the service was above average for a Chinese restaurant. Price was a bit higher than the average but worth it. Would definitely go back.

Great Asian restaurant. The food was very good. Service quick and friendly. Loads of choices. Very popular so book in advance.

We were visiting New York from the UK and stumbled upon this Chinese restaurant — what an incredible experience! The food was absolutely perfect, full of authentic flavors and beautifully presented. The menu had so many unique dishes we’d never seen in the UK, which made the experience even more special. The staff could not have been more welcoming or attentive, making us feel right at home. A very special thank you to Mike and Jay for their outstanding service — they went above and beyond to make our evening memorable. We’ll definitely be recommending this spot to friends back home and can’t wait to return on our next trip to New York!

I absolutely do not recommend!!! The manager of the restaurant that day was an insane person. The staff is not professionally trained. He demanded to pay the tip simply with a scandal. Threatened with the Russian mafia. They offered to call both those and the police, but he refused, but was happy to make a scandal, not caring about the surrounding restaurant customers. For the first time I saw such an unprepared person who did not know how to work with clients and the waiter who served. Moreover, we are sane people and have no complaints. The evening was completely ruined. The restaurant doesn't care about its reputation. I strongly advise against wasting your precious time on this establishment!!! It's better to pass by to the nearby Italian one by the way!!! But the most important thing that struck us, of course, was that they threatened to call us the Russian mafia because we refused to pay crazy tips for crazy service!!!!! They threatened! This has never happened in my life. This is just a shock!!!!!?

The people are very warm. They were very helpful and explained the dishes well which it simpler for us to order. The food is absolutely yum.

I came here on a Sunday nursing a violent hangover. I had already gotten a sweat in the steam room to try to mitigate it, but it did absolutely nootin. The Anthony Bourdain quote about how to beat a hangover popped into my head. "Aspirin, cold Coca Cola, smoke a joint, eat some spicy Szechuan food." I skipped the aspirin and coke, but looked up Szechuan places in the area of a store I wanted to pop into and found this place. I walked in and was immediately struck by the peaceful interior. I sat down and was handed a menu. An internal debate ensued: There was a section of the menu for "Authentic Szechuan" food and another for "American Chinese" food. I had come here in the spirit of the Bourdain quote, so I had to get something from the Authentic Szechuan part of the menu. But everything that actually sounded good was on the American Chinese portion of the menu. "I really just want to get fried rice and some spicy noodles, but then I would be a fraud. I'll just get something from the authentic portion, but honestly what if I don't like it then I just wasted money and am not staying true to myself..." At this point the waiter came up for the 2nd time and asked if I was ready. I couldn't tell him I need more time again smh. I scrambled and ended up settling on the Dan Dan Noodles and the Wok seared Cauliflower w/ pork belly. One from each section of the menu. Pressure makes diamonds but it also busts pipes. Today I was a diamond. Both dishes were fantastic and it is very much an authentic Szechuan experience. Catch me here at least one Sunday a quarter going to war with a hangover!! Unrestricted recommendation!

We made a reservation here, as it was close to our hotel, and after a busy day sightseeing we were looking for somewhere close by. Firstly I have to say that the food was very good. Vegetable spring rolls and pork soup dumplings for starters. Both had plenty of flavour, although the pork soup dumplings did fall apart before reaching the mouth! Main course was stir fried chicken with fresh chilli, and sliced beef in chilli broth. Both were very spicy dishes which we like. The beef was tender and both dishes packed plenty of flavour. Unfortunately we felt that we were being rushed through our meal, which happened on plenty of occasions during our holiday in the USA. It seems most people like to eat quickly and move on. At one stage whilst we were still eating starters, the waiter came to take a plate away. He accidentally bumped my wife, causing her to spill food on her top. Not great! When we finished we did ask for another drink: not sure that was received very well. And when our plates were cleared, they never bothered to wipe down our table. Service was ok, nothing special. However the food was pretty good. Would have rated this higher if we hadn’t felt so rushed.

Excellent Chinese, and, in particular, Szechuan cuisine. Very nice atmosphere. Fish Fillet in Red Chili Broth (Black Fish) is very good if you like red chili broth. Also I had a superb Truffle Crispy Eggplant. I normally do not like eggplant, but this version is crispy and caramelized and a real treat. Not only that, but they have great desserts here too. The Pyramid (Chocolate Mousse) is not your typical chocolate mousse and very good.

Because the neighbors of a Tavola were full referred to Chi. Perfect service by Wayne. But just as important pleasant atmosphere and really top meal! Delicious dim sum, different types of fried rice, tasty Orange Chicken, 9 seconds steak, basil chicken. It's worth repeating. Ample portions so that someone on the street also enjoyed

Delicious! Jumped in here after a long day and was greeted by a friendly host named Joanne. I sat at the bar - comfortable tall seat (with back support!) Ordered crispy shrimp balls -so delicious and the presentation was impressive! Had veggie fried rice and a pot of jasmine tea that lasted for days so I even got that to-go in a takeaway cup! Buzzy atmosphere, the perfect New York / Chinese experience.
