Great brazilian food in NYC

Excellent meat, very well prepared by professionals! Good place to eat, drink and chat. Great location!

Bad experience

By TravelSkeptic43 |

I was staying at the Belvedere hotel (which it's attached to), and went down for a beer late one afternoon. Service was awful. The first waiter came over and said "what can I get you?". I hadn't even been given a menu and told him so. He brought me one and disappeared. Another guy came over to take my order. They have 3 Brazilian beers (something like Blue, Gold and Black). I asked him if the "black" was a dark lager. He looked at me like I had 3 heads and eventually said "we have dark". I asked him something else that I can't remember and he just stared at me. I became very, very obvious that he didn't speak any English. I finally said "glass of Cabernet please" and he brought me one. Not what I was looking for, but better than nothing. If there was happy hour pricing, I certainly didn't get it. The wine was expensive and not worth it. I wouldn't return.

A new experience

First time in New York and first time in a Brazilian steak house. We had a great time, everything was first class.

The bar has very good grilled food. Very healthy

By Luísa |

Good grilled food, including vegetables. Very good if you want something healthy in Midtown. Jiuces are also very fresh, made in front of you.

A Very Underwhelming Experience

By The Five Road Trippers 🚙🎡🎢🧳 |

I've dined at a number of churrascarias in my lifetime. I am familiar with Brazilian style food and the rodizio style service that goes along with that. The host was very polite when we walked in and the gentleman who sat us was also very nice. Our server was very nice in addition to all of the other people serving us. I have never been to a churrascaria where the gauchos were not dressed in the true "pilcha" (the uniform worn by cowboys in southern Brazil in the 19th century). The salad bar was a big let down for us. There were very few items compared to other churrascarias. I was very happy to see sushi and hot fish entree but everything else was very basic. We did dine here on NYC Restaurant Week for $60 but for $79, I would expect to see some charcuterie, more cheeses, smoked salmon, and more vegetables (other than eggplant). In addition, nothing on the salad bar was labeled. Many people have allergies and celiac. The family style sides were very bland, especially the black beans. These are a staple in Brazilian cooking and they tasted like they were dumped out of a can. In every churrascaria, the meal begins with cheese bread. Unfortunately, we were overlooked and did not receive it. We didn't notice until the meal was over. The meats were good but not great. We only had a few meats to the table with the restaurant week menu. The prime rib was delicious and the parmesan pork was cooked to perfection. They use a very light seasoning compared to their competitors, who season with only rock salt. Our dinner did come with dessert. I had the tiramisu, which was very good. It was made in the traditional style with marscapone, espresso, and lady fingers. The coffee was not good. It seemed like a cheap diner style coffee. Usually these restaurants have excellent coffee. My caipirinha was right on the money. I can see they use a premium cachacha. We had high hopes for this place. Unfortunately, it did not live up to our standards. For their price point, this restaurant does not live up to the hype for us.

La Churrascaria plataforma was one of the best restaurants I’ve been to in years. The food was absolutely delicious.

By Dymphna Matai |

This restaurant is one of the best restaurants I’ve ever been to the food was absolutely delicious. The service was very professional.

Tons of meat!!

By Darren M |

We haven’t been back in a couple of years and we’re glad to experience this again. The meats were excellent and a very lovely atmosphere. Our only disappointment was the service, but not from those serving the meats.

Great food and atmosphere..

Their food is amazing. Happy Hour and staff wonderful. Place is very nicely decorated and very large space. Superb Brazilian food.

Food and Service not worth the money!

By Kerry Robinson |

We paid 180 dollars to be offered the same four meats over again. Never saw any of the other meats being circulated around. No menu on the table stating what meats they offer, so when asked by the server what meats you would like to see, you do not even know what meats you can choose from. Definitely not worth the money. Emailed the restaurant to discuss our disappointment and had no response. Just shows the lack of service and care for their guests. If you’re considering this place, I would suggest to avoid. There’s a lot nicer places worth more money around New York City than here.

Rude service

By Pahapukki |

First off, food was great BUT the service was very rude. I made a reservation here the day before but didnt get a confirmation for it. So when we got here i asked the host about me reservation. She said something back and said she is busy and something. she gave me a buzzer so we know when we get our table. Got placed maybe on worst table on the floor because every waiter with the meat just turned around before our table. When i said about that too the main waiter all the meat guys came at once and over filled our plates.

Great Brazilian dining experience

By bjdandara |

IT was convenient to have this wonderful restaurant right in the hotel to dine before a show. Good food, music and attentive servers.

Carnivores' Delight

By Kevin C |

A meat lover's dream ... like most churrascarias. A large and varied salad selection with accompanying soups, breads, cheeses to complement the bever ending range of "hot off the grill" meats. It's difficult to choose a favourite meat as there were so many The garlic beef cut, top sirloin and lamb chops were juicy and tasty. It's so easy to overeat ... that's the only drawback !! A bottle of Argentine red to accompany the meal topped off an unforgettable evening.

Cracking Evening Meal !!

By Matt C |

What a fantastic evening meal, amazing food that just kept coming ! The quality of the food was great too. Never been to this type of restaurant before, using a red/green card for more meat but thoroughly enjoyed it. Staff were very attentive and nothing was too much trouble. Really worth a visit, you won’t regret it !

Tasty and “salty” dinner based on meat

By Effeloisla |

After a busy day walking around New York, we felt like a meat dinner and came across Churrascaria Plataforma. It is a Brazilian churrascaria “turning meat”. All the meat we ate was of excellent quality, with a choice between various cooking and with a wide variety (beef, chicken and more). In addition to meat, access to a buffet with cold appetizers, vegetables, hot side dishes and salads is included. Availability towards those with special Food needs: my boyfriend is celiac and could safely eat problems. The only less positive note: the bill, which was decidedly high, but on the other hand in line with NYC standards. Overall it is a restaurant I would recommend — just get there prepared (especially economically)!

Excellent meat and terrible check ...

By Chm-ontheroad |

The place is large, speaking mainly Spanish, some are from Brazil ... ambiance is so so, waiters push too much to have a quick diner ... it is sometimes stressful! food is really good : the bbq formula is awesome, you can eat as much as you can and of course a lot from the buffet and from the bbq The price is really terrible 100$ per person without dessert or wine !

Meat and more meat.

By wquintana2 |

I took my twins for their bday celebration and staff made them feel so welcome, the service and food quality are extraordinary.

A Favorite Restaurant!

By Tallulah815 |

We love everything about this restaurant. It is one of our favorite places in the whole world. We never miss a chance to go when we visit New York City. It is a unique experience with food being brought to your table. You have the option of accepting or declining, but you will find yourself accepting all of the delicious choices. They are always so kind and accommodating to our children, too. They have provided vegetarian options and convinced our youngest to try their chicken. Our children are a bit older, which seems most appropriate for this restaurant. You feel like a VIP while you are with them. They are gracious, polite, and friendly. We highly recommend Churrascaria Plataforma!

Very good but not exceptional!

By Mikchief |

Went with 3 other couples. Saturday evening with reservations. Seated promptly. Salad bar was ok. Waiters were very prompt and polite. As the “meats” cone around, seemed to be a good variation but many were rare to very rare. I do like rare meats but some seemed to be almost raw. My wife likes well done which was very hard to find which causes her to just wait. Dessert selection was about average. Creme’ Brûlée should have been much warmer with the crusty top. Overall very good but not excellent

Lovely Thanksgiving Dinner

By Rstraubh |

Outstanding buffet bar. Loved everything that they had on it. I went with a meat lover, but I am a pescartarian and asked for fish options and they gave me shrimp, white fish and salmon. All were very good!!

Good variety of food and worth it.

By James |

The food is pretty good. The meat selection is good and the buffet is solid. While there isn’t a huge variety in foods there is multiple types of meat like lamb, chicken and beefs that make it worth a visit. Make sure to come hungry because it’s buffet style.

Great meats, terrific salad bar, inconsistent service

By Anne C |

Our most recent visit here was with another couple on a busy Saturday night. Even with reservations we still had to wait just about 10 minutes. Once seated a waiter arrived and asked if we had been there before (we all had) and perhaps it is because he knew that that he was not very helpful with beverage options -- there wasn't a cocktail/wine menu on the table, so I asked about cocktails. He only suggested their Caipirinha -- thankfully he mentioned it was strong, so I passed that up and ordered a glass of Malbec (deelish). Others at our table had iced teas and sangria. Our server dropped off a little piece of paper for us to fill out which sides we'd like delivered to the table, so we did that and left it on the table, where, for the entire length of our meal, it remained, untouched, with no sides delivered. When our waiter returned to give us our check he surrepticiously crumpled up that paper! While this should not have happened, frankly, we really didn't miss getting our sides (or we would have pursued getting them at some point). But this was a misstep. Just in case you are not familiar, this is a Brazilian riodizio steakhouse. The way this works is that they have a fantastic salad bar with all kinds of yummy dishes -- on our night there some of the dishes included beautiful scalloped potatoes, chick pea salad, cheeses, sushi, quinoa salad, and faijoada (black bean stew with beef and pork, the Brazilian national dish). Incidentally, if you were dining with someone who didn't want to eat meat, I believe you can buy only the salad bar and they would be very happy. But the real point of this place is the meats. In riodizio, each diner gets a paper coaster-sized disk that is green on one side and red on the other. When you are ready for the meats, you flip your disk from red to green and that signals the staff that they should stop by your seat with a huge "sword" of some kind of delectable meat and slice off a piece or chunk for you. You have small tongs at your place setting in order for you to grasp the piece of meat as it is being sliced. For the most part, all of the meats were delicious and there is a great variety, like garlic steak, bacon-wrapped turkey, chicken legs, prime rib, etc. We were glad that they were busy as it allowed for a slower pace of these skewers coming by. You can "take a break" by flipping your disk to red when you need a little time, and then flipping it back to green when you would like more of the skewers to appear. Service was inconsistent. There are a lot of staff around and it is a bit difficult to know who is assigned to doing what task (clearing dirty dishes, bringing clean plates, refilling water, getting beverages, etc.). My hubby was happy they kept his water glass refilled, but sometimes I had to ask for water. There were a number of times I had to flag down someone to take away our used salad bar plates. Empty beverage glasses just sat on the table. Since my hubby alerted the restaurant to our friends' anniversary, they brought a slice of chocolate cake with a sparkler in it when it was time for dessert. Nice. Then the dessert cart woman described the many offerings for us to order. Hubby and I really loved their passion fruit pudding (wish I had some right now). Coffee was O.K. This is a large restaurant and the restrooms are not, but a really nice and needed element is that there is a restroom attendant (so make sure you have tip money). Because the attendant was there, the restroom was always in great shape and clean.

Delicious meat !!

By CCTA65 |

If you want to eat something like the brazilian steak you need to go to Plataforma. Good meat, good service and delicious salads. And for a very affordable price !!

Very good address

By Raphaël P |

Excellent churrascaria, the meats are top notch, the service is fast, efficient and very professional. The buffet with side dishes is also excellent. We will come back without hesitation during our next stay.

Christine, the waitress, was the best! DO NOT PARK AT ICON!!!

By Barb C |

We came here before going to a Broadway show and it was an excellent choice - based on reviews from this very site! We sat in the bar area b/c we didn't want to take advantage of the prix-fixe menu. Instead, we enjoyed drinks and delicious bread from a high hat table - very comfortable. For dinner, I ordered black bean soup which was rich and creamy. One of my friends had a salad with grilled shrimp and another had some kind of beef sandwich (I can't find the regular menu one line so can't name them properly). She also had sweet potato fries. It was all delicious! For dessert, we had cappuccino and also cheesecake and some other very light and delicious cake that came with an optional caramel topping (get it). The website recommends parking at Icon across the street and I cannot dissuade you strongly enough. It is easily the most disorganized parking lot I've ever experienced. We had to wait over 30 minutes to pay and then over another 30 minutes for them to bring the car. The main guy there was rude and not at all helpful. They are not the only game in town so exercise your right to choose, do yourself a HUGE favor, and use a more professional and efficient lot. Because we had to wait in line, we had to pay $45 instead of $12. Don't do it!!!!

Great Barbecue

By Mark Garret |

Looking for a taste of Brazilian barbecue? Come experience the glamour and delicious options at this restaurant. I absolutely love it and believe it's worth the price.

Avoid! Disappointing vs what is advertised! Tried to increase the bill!

Booked via their appointed reservation system RESY. All confirmed for a 2030 pm reservation for their Meat Lovers Dinner Special $49pp including unlimited salad and vegetable bar. Arrived and they could not locate our booking, despite me showing them the confirmation email. However there were plenty of tables being that it was a Tuesday evening. The reception team advise the last sitting for a table was 2030pm and so we could not have a drink at the bar first. This is not noted on their website nor when you make the reservation. So we had to proceed directly to the table. Our main server ( I think called Hugo) was incredibly attentive, chatty and friendly. As I go on with this review, I want it to be CLEAR that he is the ONLY reason we left a tip! We were explained how the system works (traditional Brazilian steak House where you flip your card between Green to go and Red to stop meat service. In-between help yourself to the salad bar in the centre of the restaurant. So away we went to the salad bar, which was plentiful and included fresh prawns (I must point out here the prawns were on the ALL INCLUSIVE salad bar, included in the $49 Meat Lovers Dinner Deal. Meat was served, it was all very good- no complaints there at all and when ever we flipped to Green a server would be there in seconds with a offering of Meat carved at the table on to your plate. Great fun! We requested the bill/cheque and noticed that we had been charged the higher Dinner amount of $79pp. (When you check the website, the ONLY difference annotated between the 2 deals is that this higher one you get a fish course as well as meat. It DOES NOT mention ANY differences in the type of meat served. BOTH menus generalise as Steak, Pork & Lamb - no specifics! Screen shots of both below for context) I requested that the bill be reviewed as we had booked for the $49 dinner and a different waiter (seemed to be a supervisor) told me and I quote "you didn't tell me you wanted that menu and we served you the better meat". My reply was that I made a reservation for a specific menu and between checking in for our table and throughout the entire service we had not once been asked or notified that there were 2 different qualities of meat. What was served was from our side what we had booked. I also explained that we had not received a fish course. The servers reply "There are Prawns on the salad bar".... but as I mention above the salad bar for both dinner deals is included and unlimited. So if the Prawns are not included.... don't put them on the salad bar a free for all! This was met with now a rude, frustrated server , despite my queries and replies being calm, respectful and factual! The bill was reluctantly changed to what we had booked and expected. Resulting in our bill being Almost $100 less! The suggested tip was 18% which was a about $40. Due to the above situation and what I felt was as though we were being taken advantage of due their lack of clarification at check in, I left a $20 tip for Hugo the 1st server I mentioned above. Better Brazilian restaurants in the city that I feel won't have this stressful end to our last evening in NYC! Please also note the pictures below. This is the published menu for BOTH deals. Please note that we only received the Sirloin cuts, chicken , pork and Lamb. We DID not have the Fillet Mingnon steaks or Chicken livers offered to us - therefore when the waiter claimed we had been served the better cuts of meat you can see where I pushed back on his comments. Also the only veg offerings were, black beans, rice, aubergine. No baby corn, no asparagus etc as per the listing.

Great Place For a Party

By mjbbg572 |

I picked this place for my mom's 70th birthday party because it provided a large space for a group of 31 people. Also, with the huge salad bar and variety of meats available, everyone can enjoy their favorite selections. It all worked out perfectly! My mom and the family all had an a great time. The salad bar had plenty of good selections. All the various different cuts of meats were delicious. The salmon we requested was slightly overcooked by not too big of a deal. A very special thanks to Alex, the manager on duty during our party. Alex was awesome in answering any questions and making sure we had everything we needed to have a great celebration for my mom. The strawberry shortcake that the restaurant made for my mom was very pretty. The cake was lite and not too sweet. I highly recommend this place for large parties. Ask for Ricardo and Alex, both were a great help in answering any questions. The next time I am in New York City, I will definitely stop in for lunch or dinner.

Not just quantity.

By Anne C |

We met several friends here for a late lunch on the Fourth of July (we've done this before for this holiday -- it's nice cause it's not too crowded and it's a lovely way to hang out with friends without being in the heat). The dining room always reminds me of a dining room on a cruise ship (large!). It's good to be a carnivore if you come here but even if you don't eat a lot of meat, the salad bar is way more than just a salad bar and you could easily make a meal out of that alone. Personally, I like to balance my meal with both the salad bar offerings (fantastic scalloped potatoes, btw) and the never-ending skewers of meats that come to your table. In case you aren't familiar, this is a Brazilian steakhouse where you get a little paper disk (red on one side, green on the other). When you are ready for servers to come by with skewers of meats, you turn your disk to green and they know to keep coming and offering. When your disk is red, they stop. Of course you can keep "going and stopping" at will. Quantity wouldn't matter, though, if the quality wasn't there, but it is. It's all delicious and fun. The only thing I tend to skip is the side dishes that are listed on a little slip of paper on the table. On this visit I didn't even order any because the last time they weren't nearly as good as the salad bar and the meats. On this visit the service was attentive and friendly. So we had a really yummy, leisurely meal where everyone could eat what they wanted at their own pace -- good for a small or large group. We even stayed for dessert and I really like their passionfruit pudding-like concoction. Reservations should be made. Note that if you drive they have a good discount deal with the ICON lot across the street!

Great meal - fun place.

By Charles D |

Dinner was excellent and service terrific. The choices of meats was very good and plentiful. Suggest you go lightly on the other "stuff" and concentrate on the meats. We were stuffed when we left. Expensive, but worth the trip.

Very Expensive and Super Average

By Fernando-Botargues |

This restaurant used to be pricey, but fantastic and worth it. Now is only pricey and super average. First of all, at dinner time is was half empty, there was no live music (although there is an orchesta) or even background music. Very dull. The salad bar was a disaster, super average, only with cheap options. It used to be amazing. The drinks were super expensive ($15-20) and super small (I never saw a martini glass so small). The gin tonic was served in a generic glass. The sangria was served in a very small wine glass. The meat was good, but nothing espectacular Total price for 3 rodizios, 4 drinks and one dessert was $350. Seems to me the reduced costs tremendously without affecting selling prices. Bad idea! Will not return

I highly recommend!!!

By Cristianechebli |

Exceptional!! Our second time and we loved it… I highly recommend it. Extremely friendly and cordial staff...Carlos is beyond serious

Fantastic!!

By Nobu T |

One of the best restaurants I have ever visited! Meat, meat, meat...if you love meat, this is the place you have to be. But also great side menus and vegetables, deserts...oh, my...great food! People working there are so friendly and nice...cannot expect more. Trust me you will have great experience there. One thing...if you want quiet time with your loved one, careful, this is very friendly place, so not so quiet, but great!

Wow womderful

By TMC159 |

The comparison is fogo de Chao and it makes it. In fact they have additional varieties of meat such as prime rib. Equal salad bar. Please try

Fine churrascaria

By mnlgrl29 |

I had a great time visiting this place, lots of good meat to indulge. Seeing the server approaching with their trolley filled with churrasco of any types gives you different excitement.

Fun Food

By oldtony77 |

We ate there because we were staying in the Belvedere and it was a very pleasant surprise. A taste of Brazil done with style and panache. You have to be a carnivore, but it is a fun experience and a very satisfying meal

We went for our anniversary

By anuchie |

The servers were very attentive and if you flip your little circle over to green, you can expect a ton of delicious meats coming your way. We decided on this type of restaurant because we were doing a keto diet (no carbs, no sugar), which means yes to all the meat you can eat. They did not disappoint! We told them we would have to pass on dessert but then they surprised us with a beautiful piece of real New York cheesecake. We could only take a tiny bite but it was delicious! Highly recommend this restaurant and their cheesecake.

Fantastic for meat lovers

By Jason K |

I love steak and Brazilian BBQ restaurants. We (party of 4) were lucky enough to get a table on a Saturday without a reservation, after only a 15 minute wait at the bar. The salad buffet was good, nothing spectacular, but that was not why we were there. The meats were the real business, and this place did not disappoint. I tried at least 8-9 different types (lamb, different cuts of beef, pork) and they were all good enough to order a la carte (had it been at a regular restaurant). They have a jazz band and it didn't bother us one bit, but if you are looking for a quiet night, then ask not to be seated near the band.

Char-grilled meat meat and more meat

By Mark B |

Carnivores rejoice, this is the place for you. It’s pricier than some other steakhouses, but which of those can you try more than a half-dozen different cuts and preparations of beef, and then add in some chicken, pork, and lamb as well. All the meat is nicely cooked, and you can point to the skewers as they come by and say exactly which but you would like to try, be in the rare, well-done, or somewhere in between. My favorite was the flank steak, but the beef rib was particularly good, although we found the pork a little bland (needs more seasoning) and the fat needed crisping up a little more. Of course, there is a full salad bar, including some sushi, rice, potato, and all kinds of other goodies, so you are going to find something for even the most picky eater. The service is great, as it needs to be fore a place where you are relying on them coming by with the hot skewers of meat.

A taste of home

By BobbyJean |

Wandered in here without a booking. They cater for All you can Eat customers at $69 pp. however they had a section specifically for regular eaters. We had a selection of grilled chicken breasts, lamb chops, mashed potatoes and broccoli, carrots and asparagus! All beautifully cooked and served by a lovely waitress from Brazil. A little off the beaten path but close to our hotel. Glad we stumbled upon it.

Disappointing

By LindaS |

Overpriced and not great. We have been to this restaurant many times in years gone by, and always enjoyed it. We decided to try it again on a recent trip to NY and were very disappointed. The cheesy rolls were cold, the salad bar uninspiring, fishy tasting prawns. The mash was unseasoned. Meat was ok, not all equally well seasoned and didn't seem like the best quality. Considering how much they charge I would have expected better. Wait staff were good though.

Expensive but worth it a a treat for the experience

By Meme R |

So first time to new york and wanted to try something a little different. This place is an experience from its expansive salad bar (which you have to resist not trying everything) to good range of desserts However the highlight is the flipping of the card to yes please to sudden influx of choice of meats from steak to chicken to spicy sausage. It is quite expensive nearly 300 dollars for the two of us but if you are going to treat yourself this is place to go

Good meat, mediocre service

By Michael C |

Back in NY with family this time for a short visit, and we decided to eat at Churrascaria Platforma as my wife and I had eaten there 15 years before. It was...ok. (I had a meal at Fogo do Chao a month before, and I'd recommend it over C.P.) The meat was very tasty but the service was extremely slow. We ordered side dishes twice and the wait was very long, then they brought the wrong dishes. The wine list is very pricey though there are a few options for a family. The salad bar is much smaller than I recalled, and also a poor offering compared to Fogo.

Amazing food and service!!!

By Ashinshin |

There were four of us, two adults and two teens, for dinner. It was amazing. The service was impeccable as well. Every meat was delicious and the salad/app bar was incredible! Desserts were so good one of us got TWO!!

Great Brazilian Rodizio style restaurant

By Jim H |

Visited on a Monday, late afternoon. Though early for our reservation, we were promptly seated. The wait staff were wonderful and treated my granddaughter like a queen. This was my third visit and have never been disappointed. The salad bar contains my local Brazilian dishes as well as multiple cheeses, sushi choices, and fresh green salads with my extras. The meats (the real draw) were well prepared and plentiful. Various cuts of beef (loved the flank steak), chicken, sausages, beef ribs. and even chicken hearts which my wife loved. They were very sensitive to my daughter in laws food allergies which was much appreciated. The dessert choices were many and they even had crema de papaya (a local Brazilian specialty served with Cassis) which I highly recommend. Come hungry and plan on staying long as the food can be never ending. I would consider this restaurant the equivalent of the best rodizios I have visited during my business trips to Brazil.

To flee

By philippe20240 |

I rarely eat with such a grotesque value for money I should have been wary because the restaurant was filled to 1/10 of its capacity despite a location close to time square Buffet of hors d'oeuvres showing a buffet flunch for a 3x Michelin 85 dollars Buffet + meat (never seen meat this fat) $120 Anyway, run!

Great Brazilian Gem!

By Gerard Carlos |

Went with a friend today, not realizing they were celebrating BR Day, but it didn't impact our meal, the salad selection was great, the service on point and the meat - delicious. The staff were all exceedingly friendly and we ate til we couldn't eat anymore! The desserts were also delicious. Little more than I usually pay for a meal, but it was really worth it!

Full brazilian experience

Amazing restaurant. The staff is super friendly, the food is excellent, full immersion Brazilian experience

Amazing Dining Experience!

By SuzieQ044 |

Had a scrumptious dinner last week at Churrascaria Plataforma. We visited with family from North Carolina. This was quite a different experience - for us all. We have never been to this type of restaurant - the buffet was lovely - so much to choose from. Then, the meat - OH MY! Absolutely delicious - it just kept coming...and coming; I can't even count the number of various types of meat. The service was excellent. We were stuffed! Great place to take visitors. Incidentally, if you are not a meat-eater, this is not the place for you (unless you want salad bar only).

First time at a Brazilian Steakhouse

By beaconhillwine |

Delicious! My only real critique on the food is on the salads at the bar; They were not really salads but more like just raw vegetables. At the same time that's really good because you can taste how fresh everything was. The staff was really friendly... Very accommodating.

A MEAT LOVING GOURMAND'S PARADISE

By LailaFreddy |

It was the second time we ate here. What a lovely large area, well lit, with good layout. The salad bar was very varied, and groaning with Brazilian delicacies. The meats just kept flowing, my favourites, the Sirloin, the NY strip steak, the prime rib, Turkey wrapped in Bacon, the chicken hearts, sausages, Lamb....I could go on. I would have loved a couple of slices of Argentinian beef to round off the experience! but as the server explained..."it's a Brazilian restaurant...so you will only get the best US beef here"! Well worth the not-so-expensive bill too!

Meat Lovers Paradise

By Stephen T |

We went into this Brazilian meat restaurant not realising what it was. Initially I was a little alarmed, there is no menu, you have what they offer, and the lack of control worried me. There is an extensive buffet of salad and vegetable items and some meat based cold dishes which you can visit as often as you want to. It’s more interesting than the average hotel buffet, the food is well presented and well cooked. Then they bring barbequed meat to your table, large chunks of meat, mainly different types of beef, but also some pork, lamb, chicken and sausages and carve it onto your plate. With the larger beef joints, you can elect to have the more or less well done bits of the joint. As with the buffet they bring it as often as you want and you can have as much as you want. The meat is excellent, very tasty, beautifully cooked, tender, juicy. I didn’t think much of the sausages but that is a matter of personal taste. The service was prompt and friendly, indeed a little theatrical. There is an extensive wine list with South American wines front and centre but other available. Overall it was a different and very enjoyable meal if you like meat. You need to starve yourself before going so that you can take full advantage. It’s not cheap, but I thought well worth it, I like meat! Recommended

Nice experience, something different

Four of us couples were visiting New York City in early December, 2018 and were staying at the Hotel Belvedere. This restaurant and bar are connected to the hotel and we stopped in for a drink one evening. We ended up eating in the bar as well. The food was fantastic and the service (from our server Christiane) was absolutely great. We ate there a second time a few days later because it was so good. We didn't try the main restaurant because the bar was so casual and comfortable and didn't require a reservation.

Interesting steakhouse in Midtown

By andreabax |

Very good choice of meet (sirloin, filet, lamb, chicken, sausages), full bar with vegetables, cheese, fish and some sushi. You can order food with no limits, all you can eat logic which is common in most of churrascarias. Really noise and more expensive than expected. Tip/gratuity included by the restaurant (that’s not fair): approx $100 / person without wine ! In any case I’ll return again, very satisfied.

huge restaurant

By Chris C |

i was amazed for the huge place and i was guessing how we could get food in such a big coming and going of people and waiters....but listen listen i was given of a little plastic box and when was our turn it started to flash ,,,,,,,so magic and new for me ....but it was long ago .....anyway good choice for a not romantic dinner

Not as good as you think

By BOB19531953 |

service is very good Food could be fatty-No real lamb chops I was charged full amount even Im 69 years old senior rate THAT WAS WRONG They cut back a lot from 5 years ago even the salad bar They play off there reputation That wouldn't last Wouldn't be back. It a tough time to be in business but I'm paying $240 with tip for two people an one drink and 2 Pepsi I try Brazilian restaurants on 47th next time

Very tasty

By claramnbvcxz |

A nice spacious restaurant with a delicious salad bar and all the meat was amazing. Very full at the end!!

Great food, tad too noisy

By Thomas André J |

Great place to come if you love your meats. Good selection, but too many cuts were well beyond "well done", even when I specified wanting it "medium rare". The ones delivered to my taste were really great, however, and the staff were always on point with more food (to the point of being a tad too aggressive). Good beer selection, and a nice buffet of sides. The place had live music as well, but they played way too loud! With the loud noise and the servers being a bit too eager on serving you food (Even with the red disc up!), the entire evening felt a bit rushed.

Picanha...: Delicious !!

By Rubens A |

Nice Brazilian restaurant with the famous “rodízio” style. You can find picanha, fraldinha and a great variety of Brazilian meat cuts. In addition, you can serve yourself from a salad buffet and ask for famous sides like fries polenta. The food is really great and be prepared to eat a lot. The negative point is certainly the service that was not good as I imagined. You stay long waiting for people come and serve you. Last but not least, the price is really high. $75 with tip per person without alcohol.

Disappointing In Comparison To The Last Time I was Here

By Steve Y |

I did enjoy my last dining experience here, and decided to come back again a few years later. However I was disappointed with the service and food selection. I noted that prices increased, while the quality of food deteriorated and variety of dishes became sparse. Also a good number of my favorite cuts of meat were not available on the night I had dinner. E.g. sausage and lamb. I also found that my waiter was quite inattentive - I kept asking him for more water and he very rarely brought some over. However when I finished my beverage, he kept asking me if I wanted another. Had to tell him "No just water please" quite a few times. Despite making a reservation, I was made to wait 30 minutes. I do feel this is unacceptable. Probably not worth returning if I am expected to pay the same price for the same food.

Wonderful evening

By Carrie T |

Typical Brazilian Steakhouse. Great salad/ cold dish bar and the meats on skewers were all well prepared. Our waiter was very attentive and we received excellent service. We were staying at the Belvedere Hotel and this restaurant is located on their ground floor.

Best place to go after Christmas Show

By Pnatale326 |

After the show there was 7 of us. We did make reservations and only waited a few minutes so we all enjoyed a cocktail at the bar. The vibe in this place is lively. There is live dinner music for your enjoyment. You start with a salad bar that has everything including sushi. Once you turn your card to green for go you have every type of meat brought to your table and cut off of skewers by the waiters. It's hard to keep up. Ribs, steaks, sausage, lamchops and the list goes on. Keep room for the dessert as there are many options. Absolutely love this place. The staff, food and ambience is great. Good time had by all.

EXTREMELY POOR SERVICE

By NYC_Travel_Guru |

We have been to Churrascaria Plataforma more than two dozen times over the past 20 years. This was not a typical Churrascaria experience. We went on the Saturday after Thanksgiving 2022. Service was non existent from the get go. We were initially seating next to a table where a belligerent (intoxicated?) male was raising his voice in “conversation” with his table mates and never shut up. We asked to be moved. We were assigned a different table. As we got set there, the maitre de told us we should not have been sat there and he sent us to our third table of the night. After waiting several minutes we had to waive down a server to ask for water and bread. The bread was “hard” compared with what we are used to. We next enjoyed the salad bar, and we’re ready for the meat servings. But no one came over to provide fresh plates. Eventually, one of the meat carvers told a waiter to provide fresh dishes, which he did. The waiter asked whether we wanted another bread dish. We said yes. It never came. Also not offered? Any sides. We had to flag down the maitre de to get those. Which took forever to arrive. During the course of the meal NO WAITSTAFF came to our table in their own. We needed to flag down someone each time we needed a fresh bottle of sparkling water. In the end, we provided a 20% tip even though it wasn’t warranted because the meat carvers had worked so hard. OBSERVATION: the reason our waiter was non existent is that he was told to bus (clear) tables. Yet, we were there after 10pm and there was no need to clear tables at that point because there was no turnover (meaning those tables went unused the entire time we were there). This was totally within the control of the maitre de, who should have focused on taking care of seated guests like us instead of setting up tables for the following day.

Authentic Churrascaria

By Bennettbrian |

A huge authentic Brazilian Churrascaria. This as close as I have experienced to the same restaurant in Rio. There is a large area in the centre of the room for salads / rice / feijoada / farofa etc. Another authentic touch is the provision of Pao De Queijo (cheese bread balls) at the table. The meats are served by waiters carrying large skewers and carving your meats at the table, sausages and chicken etc are also served, the quality of food is excellent. The meats are served after you turn your coaster to green and stops when you turn it to red, as much or as little as you desire. The desserts are also outstanding. Best to visit the restaurant when hungry, not recommended if intending to have a light meal. The service was excellent. The only negative we had was the pricing is getting very expensive.

Hogh on quantity, low on quality

By Irma G |

The price is high but the quality isn’t. Lamb chops were tough, the meat was chewy, not prime. You are encouraged to order the churrascaria, but for $5 less you can eat to your heart’s content at the buffet. A senior discount of $13 is offered, but only on the meat, not on the buffet which had decent sushi and shrimp. The wine list is extensive, but a bottle of okay wine cost $50.

Did not reach my expectations

By lcdajohannecortes |

Well I don’t want to say I was completely disappointed but I was kind of dissapointed. Let me start. First I reserved my table with open table, I had no problem with that, when we arrived the table was ready. Second you are given 2 choices the complete menu its 66$ a plate and they tell you , you’ll be receiving 17 meats and can choose from 6 side dishes. The other option is half for 13 meats and 3 side dishes. Well of course we wanted the complete experience so my whole family asked for the complete menu. The salad bar had an amazing guacamole sauce, but other than that the salad bar was normal, nothing extraordinary. When you want meat you just turn over the little paper plate they give and the meat starts arriving. The meat was good but again not extraordinary , I’ve eaten in better steak places. They only gave us about 7 different types of meat, and the real good stuff life filet mignon, we had to ask for it 🤔. The desert is NOT included and it’s 10$ a piece, not bad for New York. They were DELICIOUS. My recommendation for this place is: 1- make reservations 2- do not ask for the complete menu , go for half the menu, because you are only getting half the menu anyways. 3- get desert they are delicious Another thing is that kids only get a 10$ discount of the price. Total bill for 4 was $370, tip is included in bill Already. Well I hope this review helps you!

Unreal selection of meats and salads

By Derek_Comerford |

Ate here halloween night and it was unreal, huge selection of salads followed by an array of meats brought to your table and carved by the server. Its an all you can eat set price menu so go there hungry!!!

Expensive but Well Worth It

By 1977TA |

We went to this brazilian steakhouse for the second time in a year and really appreciate even more how good the total experience is -- from the service to the robust salad bar to the quality beef servings. The biggest difference is that we went there EARLY (aka 5:30PM). The staff was attentive and the meats were coming around on a routine rolling basis. No room for dessert but why waste space on sugar when protein is so abundant. In some -- a really solid experience.

Insanely good

By KnoxTravler |

Ive been going for years and it never fails to impress. The salad bar is ridiculous with sushi, shrimp, you name it, but be careful not to over indulge. The meats are endless and amazingly flavorful. I visit every time I am in the city.

Hard Not to Enjoy

By james_dorsin |

The meats keep coming! Great place to visit with a big group; they have some excellent specials. Worth the trip!

GREAT FOOD IN NYC

By Viktor262 |

We went in for drinks and sit down after being at Rockerfeller Center to see the Christmas tree. Drinks and service were great, we had a few appetizers which were great too. I wish I didnt eat at the house, we would have sat there instead.

How much you can eat?

By MelinChr |

It is mailly for meat lovers but it also has a great salad bar. You can choose among a great diversity of meat and eat as much as you can!Nice atmosphere and service.

After show dinner

By sotms |

I am reviewing my a la carte experience, and not their more popular all you can eat option. Service was very attentive, décor pleasant, food not so much. all steaks were "well done", not anywhere close to "medium" that we requested. that was surprising considering that steak is their specialty. Portions are humongous, good enough for sharing. Two mains and 2 wines were around $95

Quick drink before our show

By Traceyyt |

My sons and I stopped in here because it was right by the New World Stages and we had tickets to a show there on Friday night. We were greeted by the friendly hostess and told we could make our way to the bar as we were just looking for a quick cocktail. We sat at a high top table in the bar, and a waitress came right to us. Our drinks arrived promptly, and we enjoyed them thoroughly. In the short time we were there, we enjoyed the atmosphere of the restaurant.

Lovely meat

By whoshotmrburnes |

Seafood was also very good. Could do a little more with the sides. The mash and fries were very basic. Other than that, tipedy top

Good food, a bit pricey.

By dylangh94 |

It was good. The staff were attentive…which they need to be in a Brazilian steak house. The meat was beautiful. The salad bar had some great stuff but a couple of items were a bit on the edge of freshness. It was, however a great salad bar. Where the place fell down a bit was that it was a bit bland. They could use some specialty sauces of their own design and ditch the sausages, which seemed a bit hotdog-like. Also, the prices were quite high relative to comparable steakhouses. Still, the skewers were perfectly prepared. My favourites were the lamb and the picanha.

Delicious Food & Excellent Service

Have been here several times and they never disappoint! Friendly, prompt service. Food is absolutely delicious. Location is perfect for theater goers. A+

Best Brazilian rodizio style meats in nyc

By Harris G |

5 of my cousins came in on Wednesday 20 June for a dinner start to a bachelor party for my cousin. When I made reservation I mentioned that it's a bachelor party and this was acknowledged many times to the bachelor who loved the attention and bad advice from everyone .The rodezio food was spectacular and so was the salad bar .the sushi was not up to par but who goes to a steak house to eat sushi. We got the green and red card to start and stop servers from serving us fresh succulent meats. There was filet mignon wrapped in bacon which was my favourite and when our table requested more they promptly made more for us . Garlic steak ,lamb ,lamb rack, rib eye, flank steak, plataforma steak pork sausages ,chicken leg ,beef ribs and more . We had some beers and a variety of desserts . Service was friendly and truly made the start to my cousin's bachelor party memorable.

Awesome food and staff

By coleyoung79 |

Great dinning experience and amazing staff and service . Not a cheap meal but an amazing one . Don’t go unless you’re very hungry! Endlessly amazing food and unbeatable staff with awesome service ! A must try if you’re in the area you won’t be disappointed!!!

Excellent evening

Delicious food, meats, service and environment. Great location. Attentive service. Definitely would go back. Strongly recommended.

For beef fans - and more

By Kay C |

Options to have a "regular" dinner or all-you-can eat meat; if you fast all day and have the fortitude, opt for the latter Several different cuts of meat delivered on a giant skewer and carved at the table - your choice from rare to well Take as many slices as you like but do not overdue as there are many many more skewers to come Occasional non-beef options such as chicken and sausage, parmesan-covered pork - but this is cattle country so stay with the beef which is superbly tasty You can order choice of sides at the table, and there is also a huge salad bar with fresh vegetables, cheeses, sushi, cooked fish, cooked vegetables (if people in your party do not eat meat, they will not go hungry) If you can manage it, a dessert cart offers lots of tasty options And a special mixed drinks cart, along with ample selection of wines and beer Wonderful for special occasions, small or large groups

Pricey but worth it

By Tim H |

The bar makes great drinks. The meat is beautifully prepared with the exception of the lamb chips that were over cooked. the service excellent and the meat makes the rounds often The salad bar was good and even had the sides we wanted. This is a fixed price place so everything except wine is included. We were staying at the Belvadere Hotel which is attached to the restaurant. It was easy to get seating on a snowy night then get to the theater.

Delicious food! Great Service!, Come Hungry! Love this place!

By deelovesdis |

We tried this place after reading glowing reviews. Well. believe them! The salad bar has greens, assorted olives , tomatoes, black bean soup. There are assorted cheeses, a little sushi and shrimp. If you are looking for a big buffet , no. The draw is the meats, and there are plenty of them! Good looking men bring around assorted meats! how awesome is that? All of the waiters were so nice, we spoke to a few of them, all sweet, some funny. Excellent service, which I think was lead by Carlos. he was wonderful. He made sure every table was happy, he came by several times to make sure we were good. And NO ONE shamed you or made you feel bad you wanted more. I have been at places where they made you feel bad you wanted another piece of meat. Not here. My daughter ate much more ,than I did, and no one said a word. They had so many assortments of meats and ribs. Her favorites were the flank steak and pork ribs. But they had chicken, lamb and turkey too. I liked the beef short ribs. Never had them, the meat was good. We had dessert , 2 teas, and I had a piece of coconut cake, daughter had the chocolate cake. Wish I picked the chocolate cake.LOL We drank Sparkling Water, our bill without tip $184 The service was excellent. The meats run freely. Food was good. I liked the salad buffet. Atmosphere was really nice. They played music that I could have listened to all night. Thank you, Carlos and Philippi. You two made our evening most enjoyable. We will be back. .

Great place but bring a large apatite!!!!!

By Kevin W |

Every time we are in NYC we eat here. If you love roasted meats, this is your place. While I would not consider it inexpensive, we just skip lunch and eat a larger dinner. The variety of meat is amazing from beef, to lamb, to pork, to chicken. The salad bar is unmatched, but on the last trip the hearts of palm were missing. If you are a small portion eater, go for lunch. Cheaper, and the selection is almost as good. Then just skip dinner. Finally, order a caipirinha, the best in the USA. Note to Management: I had two caipirinhas on my last visit, one from the cart lady, and one at the bar. The professional bar tender’s version was far superior. Either train the cart lady or kill the cart.

Outstanding Churrascaria

By Jeremy G |

I am a big fan of Brazilian Steakhouses and this is one of my favorites. The meats are are excellent, but the buffet really sets this place a part from the competition. Not only are there numerous (diverse) items to choose from, they also offer a lot more hot items vs cold items. The danger of course is over eating on the buffet leaving less room for the delicious meats, but that its all a win/win for a great dinning experience. I also agree with several other reviews regarding service. This place does a great job taking care of your needs.

Wonderful Brazilian Steak House

By premile |

My wife and I had lunch at this restaurant in February 2019 and we absolutely loved it! The variety of meats offered were remarkable, along with the quality and taste. They were all quite succulent and just what we were looking for on a frigid winter day in New York City. We paced ourself throughout the lunch to allow ample time to enjoy each meat and take in the whole experience. The salad bar was equipped with ample selections, and the side dishes were quite tasty as well. The service was exquisite! The wait staff was courteous, professional, and paid ample attention to each table without being overbearing. The price was moderate to high; but worth every penny paid. The decor was basic. Nothing memorable; but spacious and kept in pristine condition. Overall I would highly recommend a visit to Churrascaria Plataforma.

Amazing place - you MUST visit

By MoragEK |

OMG this was a most amazing place. The waiter told us not to fill up on the salad bar (which has every kind of salad you could imagine) He wasn't wrong. You all get a beer mat with a green side and red side. The waiters then bring out meat and meat and more meat on huge skewers. If your beer mat is on green the just keep coming with more and more meat Then you turn it over to red to give yourself a break. It was one of the best experiences we have every had. And most certainly we had protein overload. I am sure we had to roll out of the restaurant. Not for vegetarians !! Although its a little expensive its all about the experience.

Birthday celebration x3

By Yngvar D |

We were going out to celebrate 36-40-60 years, which was noted on the table reservation. Fascinating concept with different kinds of meat served when you flip a mark on the table from red to green. Large salad bar with various small dishes and sushi in addition. We were allocated a small table for 4 but were given a larger table on request. Meat, side dishes and salads were very good. Missing sauces as a side dish that would have been the finishing touch for a European. After dinner, there was a birthday cakex3 + birthday song for the jubilant. It was a very nice attention. For a different dining experience, a Brazilian steakhouse is recommended.

Wow! I won't have to eat for a week!!

By TravelingEater |

First time 3 of the 5 in our party have eaten at a Brazilian Steakhouse, and boy did we get our money's worth! We really enjoyed it! We went at 3:30pm which is late enough for a final meal of the day, but early enough to qualify for lunch prices! The salad bar for lunch has "cold" items. Very good, very filling. But don't eat too much... save room for the meat! Turn your coaster to green, and the men with the meats begin to come around, cutting pieces of meat for you to eat. They seem to keep coming and coming! It is all very tasty. We had flank steak, bacon-wrapped filet, pork ribs, picanha, prime beef, sausage, bacon-wrapped turkey, etc, etc. VERY good! The salad bar is all you can eat. The meats are all you can eat. The side dishes are served "family style" and are all you can eat (ex: mashed potatoes, mixed vegetables, etc) Then, on top of all the meat... we ordered dessert! The coconut cake was to die for. The NY Cheesecake was very good. Expect about $10/piece for dessert.

Always a favourite - a carnivore’s delight!

By Simon C |

Don’t eat lunch before you go! This is a meat-eaters paradise. A great bar for a few caipirinhas before 13 of us settled down for a meat feast at this Brazilian restaurant. A free flow salad bar (I avoided it by my friends enjoyed!) and endless delivery of top quality meat. Chicken, sausages, lamb, pork, and countless cuts of top quality beef.if you like meat and have an appetite, this is the place for you!

Great experience and food. Slightly expensive

By Nick H |

Great Brazilian experience and concept. The food was great. There’s ample options from the salad bar and meat options. The staff are friendly enough but lack action. It is slightly expensive, but worth a visit for the experience.

Meat lovers paradise.

By Nick H |

I and a friend stopped here for dinner one evening after it being recommended by friends back at home. The restaurant was lovely, the salad bar which was included has endless choice and is included with the price. The choice, quantity and quality of the meet we thought was fantastic. The staff are very friendly, helpful and attentive. The $65 we thought was okay.. it’s a nice restaurant in the middle of manhattan, with good food, so the price was expected. It’s recommend the restaurant and would certainly go back when in New York. Tip - Do on an empty stomach to get your monies worth! You’ll have the meat sweats afterwards!

Delicious!

By Margy H |

The food was really delicious and the waitstaff was terrific. We told them that we were going to a Broadway show that night and they made sure that we were in and out in time. Very good experience!

RUDE Hostess with no skills

By Chris B |

Prior our visit we called to makes reservation but the hostess told us we didn’t need one so we got to that place and she asked us if we had a reservation and we told her we called prior and she told us reservation wasn’t need it I think the management needs to train better their employees very poor communication the way she greets people it’s rude food was ok nothing especial I’ve been in better steakhouses

Fabulous churrascaria!

By GwensGramma |

We went at 3pm in order to get the senior citizen lunch price. We always eat here on a trip to NYC. It has been four years due to the pandemic, but it was as great as our last visit. The buffet is outstanding, and the servers bring a large number of meats around for you to have carved onto your plate. This is an Argentinian restaurant and provides a wonderful atmosphere and dining experience in a large dining room.

The best

By heidi l |

i can give 100% to Bruna the bartender she knows how to make drinks and she knows the value of the customers she is the best !

Food was ok but very overpriced

By GritStone |

Food was ok but overpriced for what it was. No pricing or information at the door so unless you’ve been before you are in for a shock. Some veg under cooked. Very skimpy with fries. Constant supply of meat overwhelming. But most of the meat was good. Especially the lamb. Waiters officious. Not the greatest of dining experiences.

Overrated beyond belief...

By TP19791979 |

I tasted ALL the different types of steak but all I can say is they ALL tasted the same - BASIC. I could’ve made better at home. This place is over hyped due to TV and it’s location. There are far better places to eat in NYC. Don’t waste your time. Absolutely low rate.

Best in NYC

By Dev M |

I’m a big fan of rodizio. I’ve been going for years since my days in Miami. After being somewhat let down at other locations, this one was an out of the park home run! The salad bar is top notch with many more selections then other restaurants. Their meats are also amazing! Prepared the way you would want. The service and staff are fantastic as well. I like a good steak as well as other meats and I have to say that dollar for dollar, this is the best in the city!

Mexican Fare

By Dr Raymond D |

We were not sure about this restaurant but decided to give it a try. We were very pleased in the end and the food was great. One downside was that the bathrooms were downstairs.

So much good meat

By gn90 |

Great Brazilian meat place. I have to admit it was surprising. Lots of meat and advice to go fast. The price is fair considering the amount of food available.

Just the same: very bad

By Irones P |

Churrascaria Plataforma cannot use coal for the barbecue. In Manhattan coal is forbidden. So the barbecue brazilian style made with gas is a disaster. You can have traces of gas in the meat and the taste is not the same as coal. The food is cold and service is below average. The checking is even worsts: they charged my card twice.

Another delicious feast!

By steve0261 |

This time, we stopped in for a casual (week day) dinner visit after attending a nearby event. As usual, the buffet and carved meat selections were plentiful and delicious. We didn't get our usual waiter, but were still treated very well! As usual, everyone left quite full (and satisfied).

Just went to this restaurant with my wife for my birthday during restaurant week in NYC, and everything was exquisite. Great service and great food. It's a must experience place. Be hungry before you go.

Big let down

By Rich D |

My wife had planned a dinner for my son and some friends for my sons 30 birthday. After numerous phone calls to the restaurant to straighten out and verify all the details over a couple of weeks we arrived with our party of ten. The restaurant itself is quite impressive, a very nice although busy atmosphere. A piano and another area with a jazz quartet playing. As we waited to be seated I went down stairs to use the men's room. When I returned I had to go find my party seated in the rear of the restaurant actually in a separate room away from the music and the ambiance of the main room. Needless to say I was very disappointed in this cafeteria like atmosphere. What followed was a wait staff that although very attentive was all to anxious to sell us items not included in our fixed price option. Beer or wine and unlimited table service for two hours. In the end it was average food for what I thought was very over priced considering where we ended up being seated.

If you are a meat lover this is your place!!!!!!

By mariamarciano |

I love this restaurant. They have all different cuts of beef, turkey, sausages which are insanely delicious. The salad bar is not your typical salad bar, oh they have lettuce, but they also have paella and sushi. If I have one complain is that the person ordering the coffees for our table did not get there until we were all done with the dessert. Maybe they should take the coffee order first and then bring the desserts.

Come hungry and leave full. Good value.

By carpediemgolfer |

If you like meat this is really the place for you. We had a wonderful Easter lunch here and the meet was great. Just turn the sign to green and the meat will be flowing. For lunch they have a nice salads for starters but leave place for the meat. We loved the garlic steak! Very large winelist with some good South American wines for about 60 USD.

Never disappointing

By Steven C |

This is one of my favorite guilty pleasures. I try to only go one or twice per year as it doesn’t fit into any doctor’s recommended diet. The stay of meats is always fantastic. A notch above the name chains who do Churrascaria at scale. My only small complaint would be I suspect at some point they switched or streamlined the (paid) dessert list. It used to be much better but there’s still plenty of choice. I just don’t think it’s worth the money with the difference I’ve noticed in the last few years. If you want a safe choice for customer, tourist trip to NY or you just love great cooked meat - I’ve probably been there 20+ times going back to about 2005.

Best Brazilian Steakhouse!!

By rachcha |

This place is unbelievable!! From the salad bar, to the cuts of meat you cannot go wrong!! The meat is flavoured perfectly! It is not too salty or seasoned to much!! The salad bar has amazing healthy options!! Excellent choices of fish, seafood, salads and cheeses. They don’t try to fill you in fillers!!The level of professional service was impeccable!! Everyone cares about your table and they work so well as a team!! This will definitely be on our must eat at place when we return to NYC!! Thank you to all who served us and especially Leonardo who took great care of our teenage son!! The meat service was amazing!! One more thing...the cart that came table side with the beef ribs was just unbelievable!!

Be careful !they aren't no honest

By Jcarfant |

At first, we have booked a table and when we arrived, we waited a long moment. After, when we payed , they add a bottle of wine on the check.

You pay for what you get

By Johnnyt1016 |

Steak is excellent, service was fast. Its just too expensive, they should really lower the prices because there are many cheaper Brazilian places out there like this. 420 dollars for 4 people. Meat was excellent and so was the salad bar but like i said you pay for what u get.

Delicious food

By mindys593 |

Excellent food with equally excellent servers of the meat. The manager visited our table several times to make sure that everything was OK. The pace of the meal was great, we were never rushed. The only reason I gave it four stars instead of five is because we never ate from the salad bar and were charged the full price, and also we were never given the senior discount even though we are over 65. So the restaurant was a bit pricey for us although the quality and service was excellent.

Carnivore's Unite ! Not to be missed.

By efexinteriors |

Brace yourself to be entertained by the flow of food and waiters at this extraordinary Brazilian rodizio, an all-you-can-eat “extravaganza” where “skewer-bearing” waiters bring on a “nonstop” barrage of “cooked-to-perfection” meats. Different cuts of beef - sirloin, baby beef, top round, skirt steak, short ribs, brisket, rib eye; pork - ham, pork ribs, sausage, pork loin, suckling pig; chicken - chicken legs, chicken hearts; turkey - wrapped in bacon. If that’s not enough, before you even get to that part of your meal a “bountiful” salad bar awaits you. Salad bar is an understatement. I was floored. It’s a meal bar so “try not to fill up”. Save room for the meats. Excellent: service, atmosphere, food, drinks and good times. GO ! And satisfy the carnivore in you. You won’t be disappointed !

won't be back

By Lena A |

we've been at plataforma a number of times and loved the experience. went back with our kids after a long break and won't be back. the food is fine but thr service was pretty bad. it was our kids (twins) bday and I asked them for candles with desert when I made a reservation and then again once we arrived at thr restaurant. I told them that it was both kids bday and asked for two candles and they assured me it would be done. what do you know - they bring ONE desert (not two) while we still had dirty dishes on the table from our main course! and then I had to ask them for a candle for my other child! also, they made a mistake with the final bill. the dinner for 4 of us (my husband and i and our two kids) with one glass of wine, a couple of sodas and desert was $400 before tip and while I dont mind paying that for a dinner (and have paid more than that!) I expect a certain level of service at this price point and we definitely did not receive it.

Dinner at Churrascaria Plataforma

By KatfromNY |

My friend and I had dinner here during NYC restaurant week in July. The service was overall good but we had to flag down the waiters several times to get refills, etc. Food was good but not amazing - I haven't been here in over 10 years but somehow my recollection is that the service and food used to be better. Overall, a good dinner but will probably try out another place for the Brazilian steak experience next time.

Incredible food

By Richard S |

Made reservations and was seated two minutes after we arrived. Host came over within minutes and took our drink order and told us about how the food was served. Right after that the servers just kept coming. The food was amazing. you were able to get the meat any way you wanted and the service was great. We almost didn't have room for desert, which by the way was just as good as the main meal. Will be back soon.

Delicious meat and great salad bar

By Ligaya B |

We went for a dinner for two during restaurant week, so had a slightly limited menu for a cheaper than normal price ($42 instead of $63.95). We still had access to the full salad bar which had a really wide range on offer from salad and roasted veggies to sushi and steamed fish, prawns and stewed beans amongst many many other choices. But of course the main attraction was the meat - despite the limited selection on offer, we still had a good amount of choice, and you can choose when you want to be offered more or not. We were able to have it sliced as cooked (usually medium-rare) but also if you wanted it more well done, you could also request for that. We ate until our bellies were about to explode and definitely felt we got value for money. The service was very good too even though the restaurant was very busy. Thumbs up all around.

Good

By Burkevillian |

But there was nothing outstanding here. Good salad bar. Their sausages were good. Chicken was dry. Service was good. Would not go back. Not because it was "bad" just think for the money I would look somewhere else.

Stunned odd experience

By consumerlu |

Went with family from overseas and friends. For the $65.00 per person price We erroneously thought it was ok to bring extra meat served home. We happened to have zip lock bags (for packing toiletries for airlines), and used one to save the meat. How surprised to have waiter call over the manager, who came with a nasty manner and attitude. He was kind or diplomatic but embasseded me and all guests and had the audacity to add the cost of another per person charge to our bill, it was a fun night until that happened and he ruined it for all of us. The meat was reasonably good, but I think it doesn’t warrant a $65 pp cost. If you go NO doggie bags allowed. All desserts are extra on top of the meat cost.

Great "salad bar"

By B E |

This place is unique. It is the most upscale "all you can eat" dining experience I've ver had. The salad bar (they call it something else) was the best part. Amazing fresh veggies, pickled, steamed, roasted, chilled all perfectly prepared with great flavor. Black beans and roasted pork and a delicious shredded chicken salad. You can skip the meat service altogether and just get the salad bar as well. Beyond satisfying.

Fancy buffet

By dannerin |

If you’re into lots of meat that just keeps coming (kinda of like a buffet that comes to you) then this is for you. The price is fine dining the experience is not. Everything is just okay. The wait staff is fantastic and very attentive.

Very expensive - not worth the price

By Louise C |

No prices are shown anywhere so the cost was a surprise. There was no ambience and the place was very noisy. It was hard to hear what the buffet and meat servers were about. Although the food was good on the whole, service was perfunctory and the side of broccoli was very undercooked. Most of the meats were very good but the experience was simply not worth the 170$ paid.

food was very good

By Greg C |

the service was what you would expect from a $$$ restaurant the food was plentiful if not a little pricey the beef ribs were fantastic

Love it!

By antonio a |

Everything about this restaurant is amazing!!!! I have been to this restaurant several times over the past few years. So many different types of meat and the fabulous service . The last time I was there the salad bar was a little tired compared to the previous times I had been there, but perhaps it was just an off night. I love the cheerful atmosphere and the music! This is one of my most favorite restaurants in New York City -- the combination of great food, quick service, and lack of pretension make it a winner. I think it's fairly priced and certainly comparable to steak restaurants .I highly recommend going here on a date or with a big group, just make sure you do not eat 12 hours prior.

Sensational!!!

By Bugs Broesel |

I've rarely eaten meat as good as here. Hardworking and very friendly waiters are constantly travelling between the kitchen and the tables in the restaurant with their meat skewers. If desired, cut off the desired number of pieces of meat from the spit directly on the square. Top quality, very tender and juicy. In the middle of the restaurant is a large side dishes and salad buffet, where you can constantly help yourself. Highly recommended.

Tasted good, should have had more variety

By Vinny0014 |

The food was pretty good. Nice buffet table full of items. But the meat selection was lacking. I was expecting much more. They had about 4 kinds of beef, a thing of pork, and a ham. Others I have been to had chicken and lamb and tons of different types.

Worst restaurant I've ever been to

By najatafreitasp06 |

Bad service, they charge what they shouldn't, they're poorly educated, the food is awful. Good place for those who don't have the least taste and like to be abused.

Typical Brazilian Steakhouse

By WestCoastRagnar |

I found this place to be pretty much your typical Brazilian steakhouse with one exception, the staff. It's possible it was because we were there on a Saturday night but I have to say, they were outstanding. The food was good but the staff was excellent!

Very disappointed

By Mshotel517 |

So disappointed I’d been here before and it was delicious. Last week I had the worst meal the salad bar was not great . Shrimps were small the sushi had no taste and very dry . Overall not good. The meat I didn’t care for at all the quality wasn’t up to my standards. When they first opened it was great will not be back. I got sick several hours later wondering if was the preservative they use on the salad bar. Service was great and all staff wonderful . I won’t be back

Dinner

By Anakin |

I had dinner once again and it still super good , is an authentic Brazilian Churrasco, again I strongly recommend the restaurant.

Expensive

By Elisabeth P |

.... but it is really “all you can eat”. Nice starters and fresh salat buffet. The servants keep on bringing you all the Meat you can it. The restaurant is very dark and looks a bit old fashion.

Wonderful experience with tasty meats

By Michael_CH |

Busy Saturday evening. Reserved and was seated after a short 15 minute wait. Big salad/starter bar with great variety; however, went straight to the meat. Picanha and ribeye were both delicious and waiters were very attentive to replenish plate when empty (and disk was turned to green). The bottle of Malbec wine accompanied the meats superbly and the jazz band playing just complimented the evening. Very enjoyable. Would return.

Excellent food! Excellent service!!!

By DavidLMiller |

We were able to reserve through Open Table and got in right away on a Saturday night. The food was excellent! The service was outstanding!

My hubby's birthday

By Weit L |

This is a fabulous Brazilian steakhouse. This was our third visit. We started going there to celebrate our family birthdays. We joined their "club" "email" "frequent" visitor list. I'm not sure what it's called but it gives us email messages, specials and birthday treats. On our birthday we go and receive a free dessert and a gift card for a free dinner in the future.

Care is quality food

By LLQM1983 |

Wonderful service, quality food. Everything clean and organized. Ample and well-heated environment. A more than special thanks to Marcondes and Hugo, who were extremely friendly and efficient in the service. We are delighted and will recommend it to friends.

ALWAYS GREAT

By Ricardo J |

The closest you will get to real Brasilian (yes , with an S) BBQ in NYC. Its been consistent since the day it opened.

Nice Picana

By LightPacker754371 |

Very nice picana This is a Brazilian Churrasqueira and it’s a very nice place to eat meat, charcoal Bbq smoked flavours it’s a very nice experience when you are a meat lovers. I will definitely came back The Brazilian drinks ar very nice also

Huge quantity but not quality

By Allan S |

Had no been here for several years and went with friends the other night. The salad bar was great. But the meat 🍖seems served was not of a good quality. Additionally it was very salty. Desserts. Are extra but if you like the drama of The entire service and go fir a special occasions n it is fine. Basic price is $65 but drinks are pricey and do not take home any food as you will be charged. A bit disappointing but I get it. Still a good deal

Amazingly Delicious Brazilian Restaurant

By Leslie N |

Brazilian restaurants in NYC abound, but this is a standout with its savory meats and sides. We ate until we were bursting- rested- and then had more. Great service and wonderful cocktails. Recommend going light on the salad selections because the best is yet to come!

Awesome as always

By Anakin |

Super good restaurant for this that love meat and for those that don’t like meat , th buffet is awesome with plenty of options for vegetarians and vegans. Great wines , big selection of deserts plus the authentic Brazilian barbecue. Nice atmosphere with cool music.

One of our favourites whilst in New York

By Rebecca S |

We have visited here previously when in New York and loved the place so decided to visit again today, we were not disappointed with the food and waiters it was exactly how we remembered and the food was delicious. The only problem we had on this visit was the lady on the front desk as we entered was rude and not at all welcoming, good job the waiters made up for it whilst being served ! And on leaving again she was arrogant and rude, doesn’t leave a good impression as she is the first and last representation of the restaurant.

Pricey but food is good

By Scott A |

Very good concept for a restaurant and the meats are absolutely full of flavour, a little pricey but the food was lovely.

Amazing ❤️

By tania n |

Enormous salad bar selection, Friendly and attentive staff no shortage of meat servings and everyone of them delicious. Particularly the rib of beef. An absolute must. It’s a fixed price of $65 excl drinks and desserts - great value ....don’t eat all day!

Protein, fun place, excellent service

By Mark W |

If you want an experience, this is a great place to spend the evening as a couple, family, or large group. You eat as much, or as little, as you would like for a set price. Excellent drinks and wine options. We have enjoyed the bar previously but wanted to experience the full meal deal, no regrets!

Christmas Eve Dinner

By Cabulihan |

It was a busy Christmas Eve in this Brazilian Steakhouse. The waiters were circling the restaurant with skewered meat- beef, chicken, lamb, pork and hearts in rare, medium rare and well done meats. They have a salad bar in the middle. There is a lady pushing a table to serve drinks. Another lady pushing a table with desserts. You have to come hungry. The meals prefixed.

Terrible

By Martin C |

I payed for my Drinks and my Credit Card disappeared I did not leave the Bar after noticing it was missing I constantly asked if any one had seen it and the staff were extremely Rude .. benefit of the doubt I went back 3 times to ask if it had been found and once again the Bar Staff were nonchalant and couldn’t care .. be careful

Quality, quality and quality

By Gecoragno |

We returned to Churrascaria on our last trip to New York. We already knew the place and I must admit that the quality of the food and service have remained unchanged despite the passing of the years. Excellent meats, served by professional waiters in an always pleasant environment.

Too much of a good thing

By Bethoogle |

I’ve been to Brazilian restaurants before and my co-worker heard this restauarant had good reviews, so we tried it. The atmosphere was ok— lighting was bright and decor was paper lanterns hanging from the ceiling. The wait staff was very attentive, which you come to expect in a Brazilian restaurant. We obliged the waitress and all got caipirinha, a very refreshing drink, prepared table side. Within minutes, the meat started arriving. After three pieces, I quickly turned my coaster from green to red—too much, too soon. I never got a chance to visit the salad bar, which looked amazing, if only from a distance. There were some cheesy-rolls and polenta delivered to the table, but vegetables would have been nice to go along with the meat offerings. I did not care for the Parmesan chicken and did not try the lamb, although my co-workers raved about it. The meat was delicious, but it was just too much, too fast. Maybe more enjoyable for men who like larger portions, but I prefer a more traditional three-course, slower-paced dining experience. Although stuffed, we did select from the desert cart and the crepe brûlée was exceptional. An overall good experience.

Something for Everyone!

By Anderson A |

my wife doesn't eat meat and she LOVED this food!! I have eaten in many Brazilian steakhouses but this one is the best in the world!! I'm serious, the freshness of all the food items is incredible! the meat was perfect, the service was friendly! wow, a must stop for NY!!! save your money and stop in for sure you won't be disappointed!

Excellent

By giulio t |

I was here during a business trip. My american collegues take me there for the dinner. It was first time in a brazilian restaurant. You can eat fish and many types of other vegetables at the banquring. Then sit down at the table. A lot of waiters walk around and cut from a sword many different type of delicious meat. You can eat untill you have enough. Extraordinary!

Great Atmosphere All Around.....

By SaltLife70 |

You're Taste Buds won't get bored as you will be presented with all different types of Meats to you're heart desire. The Buffet had a great selection of salads and vegetables, also fish. Staff was friendly and nice. Exceptional service from Jessica and Daniel.... Many Thanks!

Amazing

By omg20162016 |

I know there are lots of great steak places in NYC. But for me as much as I love the Steak restaurants in NYC, I think Churrascaria is a must for meat eater. And even better, Churrascaria is all you can eat. And they have a great salad bar, fresh salad bar. Service is amazing.

Fun experience

By Siobhg73 |

We were a family of five looking for good meat in a fun environment and this restaurant fulfilled that. Go hungry if you want to get full value for money. There is plenty of choice for all tastes

Nothing Negative About This Place

By annarc6 |

I was a little worried when I chose this particular churrascaria over others in the area as an introduction to my grandson who is a meat lover. However, no matter what other reviews I read, this one tops them all and is worth a higher price. The meats were outstanding and cooked to order. The salad bar i. itself was enough to fill one to the brim. The service was outstanding! And the managers kept walking around to see if any table needed anything. I can’t say enough about this place. Go hungry!

we just used the bar

By Drumaqueen_MW |

We were staying at the adjoining hotel, so we used the bar area of this restaurant for drinks. I am vegetarian and this is a very meat-y restaurant so wasn't for me. Drinks were great, plenty of choice, service was great atmosphere is lively. Restaurant is huge so even when busy, it didn't appear too packed.

Poor Buffet Selection and Poor Quality

By 66V |

Not nearly as good as we’d hoped it would be - not even any bread in the buffet. Very expensive for what we got (especially as my daughter vegetarian but we still paid full price for her - she could only really have chips, rice and mozzarella). Meat largely tasteless and asked to see desert trolley 3 times but it never showed up.

All you can eat!

By @rextravels71 |

Delicious food, all you can eat from wide selection of meats Wonderful staff, and even a nice gesture, for my birthday

Meat, meat, meat

By Lara W |

If you need to satisfy your meat tooth, this is the place. Delicious, perfectly cooked varieties of skewered grilled meats, cut to your plate. Go hungry, eat lots. Don’t miss the salad bar, either.

Great place

By Randy H |

Great atmosphere and everyone on point with everything! Christian the bartender was the best we have had all trip and we would most definitely come back. Dont miss this place!!!!

We love the barbecue!

By SaGallo |

Excellent, we love this steakhouse! There is all-you-can-eat and a la carte! We stayed at the Belvedere hotel and there is 15% for guests. There is a starter salad in the carvery

Exquisite meat

By Melui |

Friendly staff and good choice of meats with "continuous" table service. You decide when you don't want meat anymore! A very varied buffet of appetizers, cold, hot vegetables, pasta, main courses, in short, there is a bit of everything. Great desserts with large portions of the cakes to "slice" Try absolutely the Cheese chake.
