This is a great neighborhood Mexican restaurant. Attractive atmosphere and reliably good food. Energetic vibe is fun for lunch, dinner or cocktails.

Meeting with friends in NYC and wanted good blended margaritas, a quiet atmosphere and decent Mexican food. Cilantro provide the first two along with better than fine Mexican cuisine. Great friendly and attentive service. Nice bar. Salsa was fresh and tasty.

We went here for a Sunday brunch. The vibe inside was excellent; very much a mexican / tex-mex feel in the heart of Manhattan. The quacamole, homemade on site, was excellent. The tacos were a bit small, but tasty. The muffin and chips upon seating was a different take on just chips at similar places; this was different, and also pretty tasty and good. Of course, there were the high Manhattan prices. All in all, not a bad place.

Cilantro never disappoints you! We miss the UES restaurant. We’ve been going for over 20 years. We love the food, the service, the environment, everything! Best Mexican restaurant in NYC

Cilantro has good food at good prices in a pleasant atmosphere. The portions are large so consider sharing..The drinks are also terrific. You can always get extra sales and chips. There are lunch specials. This is a popular local Mexican restaurant.

As native Texans living in New York for the past few years and searching for decent Tex-Mex, we've been repeatedly disappointed by various establishments. But we were happy at Cilantro! The staff was friendly when we wandered in on a snowy night, seating us quickly at a warm table. We thought the guacamole was delicious, served with great chips including fried plantain. The special for the night was fajitas, and we thought they were very good, although I don't think the tortillas were homemade. (Why is it so hard to get fresh tortillas around here?!) Others in our party were happy with the salmon and the quesadilla. We'd definitely go here again.

I really wanted to like this place. I've been desperate to find a Mexican restaurant that I really like, and this place is just a few blocks from my apartment. Maybe I just ordered the wrong thing, but I simply wasn't impressed. Sadly, it costs us around $85 after 2 dinners, 1 drink, and a tip to be unimpressed.

I ordered the dish of the day and I still remember this stuffed chicken with water in my mouth. It was very good, and a good portion. My partner also ordered something good, but not as good as that heavenly chicken breast! Service was good and seating outside rather pleasant.

We randomly found this place while waiting our Airbnb host. They were so nice and let us wait hours even if we already finished dinner: our Airbnb host newer showed up (wtf). However, amazing Mexican food with reasonable prices, AMAZING people and atmosphere! Highly recommended if you are in Upper West Side! 🇮🇹♥️🇲🇽

Monday night is $12 cash fajita night. Delicious shrimp, chicken or pork fajitas with a margaritas makes for a yummy meal! Attentive service and alfresco dining make for a lively atmosphere.

Wanted Mexican with outside dining hence Cilantro! Service was okay - felt rushed to order! Realized waiter was double duty in back and our table outside. He dropped the ball a bit but then surprised us with a yummy desert....well done sir! Tacos delish, queso even better once we hunted down a basket of chips. Fun night nonetheless. Ole!!!🌮

After visiting Museum of Natural history we were just looking for a nice place to eat and this was quite nice restaurant. The waitress was really nice and helpful and recommended some nice dishes and beers for us, the food was great and price was quite ok for the location. This place was full when we came there, but they managed to find us a small corner table. If you want eat in peace this place is probably not for you since the wall and ceiling materials are quite hard so the restaurant is quite noisy if there are lot of people in there.

We dropped into this place around 10:30pm after a concert and the food was great! Loved the chips, salsa and guacamole. Service was good even when they were really busy. Would definitely recommend.

We were 3 couples out for a fun Saturday night get-together and were referred here by our 20+ something kids. Although I'm not a big fan of Mexican food, I was pleasantly surprised by the laid back casual atmosphere, attentive waiters, and good food. Parking was a breeze this far uptown (83rd & Columbus). We ordered a pitcher of each of Margarita's and Sangria. The guac and other appetizers were fine, and the fahita's (I had the chicken, other's had the steak) were all quite good. For fish lovers, they even had salmon on the menu. Everything was freshly prepared and hot and the place looked clean. This is not gourmet cuisine fine dining, but for a relaxing night out and good, moderately priced, unpretentious Mexican food, you should enjoy your visit here. We did. By the way, they have a second location on First Avenue.

*I DID NOT, AND WOULD NOT, EAT HERE. I SAW A YOUTUBE INCIDENT. This restaurant appears to house criminals. The owner was ok with one of his patrons throwing water on a civilian walking on the sidewalk. YOUTUBE Video "Exposing the Blue Line Procedures!" Ely is the content creator. I would never go to a place like this, no matter how good the food is. The owner sucks.

The food is average but the drinks are amazing!! Best sangria EVER!! The service is good too. Great outdoor area for people watching!

Had a late lunch here after visiting Central Park. Food was very good. I especially enjoyed the Jambalaya with chorizo. But I'm always annoyed when wait staff don't write down the order. Two in our party had a simple request to leave the sour cream out of their burritos. When the food arrived the burritos had sour cream. The server apologized profusely and they were very quick with replacements.

It had been a couple of years since we were in town and looking for a meal. We decided to go back to a favorite. As usual the meal was excellent, except of over cooked shrimp. The chipotle garlic sauce on it was a wonderful example of the flavor palette at Cilantro. Cilantro rice another good example. The wife's steak quesadilla was wonderful. A very nice tender piece of beef, flank I believe. Then disappointing part of the evening was the service. We watched others come in and get served while we wait. Having worked in a restaurant I know apps come first, but these looked liked meals. Our waiter took our order and we didn't see him for quite some time. We asked one of the wait staff for more water and he said that our waiter would be right over, Not! Finally got another nice young man to get us some more water. I would go back, but stay on top of the situation a little more. Squeaky wheel.

We were walking around the city at lunch time and out of the restaurants we had to choose from, we chose Cilantro. The food was average at best and like everything in NY it was over-priced. I had a steak burrito, my wife had the chicken burrito and the kids all had taco's - we all agreed the food was just OK. The service was incredibly slow, should have known to choose another restaurant when there was only four people eating here (with seating for probably 40).

We had dinner for 4 adults, and everything was delicious. Started with the house made guacamole...Yum! I had the chicken and blue corn enchilada, so full of flavor, and the portion size was big so it was my lunch the next day. Others in the party had the chicken and steak fajitas, which I am told were excellent. A great atmosphere to enjoy great food in the city. Staff were friendly, and helpful with the menu. Overall an A+ experience, and we will be back.

This is a great place for Mexican food. Staff is friendly and very helpful. Drinks are very good and happy hour prices are good.

Best meal in New York City! Great food, great place! We will be back for more! Staff super nice, nice atmosphere

An amazing UWS find! Inexpensive but delicious Mexican food. An Egyptian maitre d' keeps a careful eye on the service, which is very good, and some of the dishes are among the city's best. Try the black beans and guacamole.

Craving for Tex-Mex food, we chose this restaurant. Fish tacos we ordered was not as good as another one we had in another restaurant. We also ordered quesadilla and other dishes as well. There were nothing special about this restaurant which motivates us to want to go back.

Friendly staff. Food is good but not excellent however the price is appropriate. On another note the drinks are excellent.

Informal, great food, very friendly staff. Wonderful food. I had the shrimp chipotle with rice and green beans. Stunningly fresh, flavourful, with a spicy sauce.

We were just walking by and checking out restaurants and cafes to have lunch. Decided to give it a try - they had a brunch menu. The did not disappoint. I am not an expert on proper Mexican food, but everything we ordered tasted good and was presented in nice way. I had a skirt stake and eggs and it was very good. The place was somewhat full so they asked one of their single patrons to move to the smaller table so they can seat us sooner.

Every time I walk by this restaurant, no matter what time it is, there seem to be people sitting outside seeming to enjoy their meal. So I decided to try it out for dinner. I liked the chips + plantains and salsa they served from the get go of the meal, and the fact that their bus boys & server were quite attentive. The seating is actually nicely spread out so you're sitting next to others, but not completely overhearing every word and sigh of their conversation. But I had higher hopes for the food we ordered. We had the hot wings appetizer and we asked for them to make it as spicy as possible (it came out coated in sauce and it was not spicy), guacamole appetizer (this was alright), fajita & taco entrees (I've had better), and the chocolate lava cake (the cake itself was too dense and the lava part wasn't quite the chocolate flow I was hoping for).

Super good food, nice atmosphere. Loved the bananachips with spicy dip, and the salads were really good. Yummie lemonade too! Top mark!

Had brunch there Sunday morning; ordered the Huevos Rancheros & a coke. The Huevos Rancheros were good. The coke tasted old (not flat) but they didn't charge me once I mentioned it. Service was friendly. Could have been a bit more attentive, but overall I can't complain. The food was good, atmosphere was comfortable, and the prices were great. I would definitely go there again.

Excellent, prompt service. Place was full at 6:30 on a Wednesday night. Meal was delicious (I had vegetarian taco salad, hubby had salmon. We shared a margarita pitcher.) Atmosphere cozy and rustic inside. There was outdoor seating however we sat inside. Completely enjoyed the meal and atmosphere with my hubby. We were simply taking an after work walk uptown on the west side, casually noting the numerous restaurants we passed knowing eventually we would stop at one for dinner. This one caught our eye, menu looked great, and in we went. Definitely would recommend.

Very good address, hearty dish, fast service, fair price 135 for 6 adults with tips included. Ps: aperitif of chips offered by the house while waiting for the dishes

We enjoyed a delicious meal at Cilantro. Had the avocado with shrimp appetizer. It was excellent, as was the arugula salad with chicken. Pleasant vibe in a family run restaurant.

This restaurant is a great Mexican restaurant. The food is awesome but my only con is that the menu is confusing. On the menu, many of the items didn't have a vegetarian option, but if you ask the waiter, they will make it for you.

A friend and I went on a Saturday night, so they were very busy, but we didn't have to wait for a table. The guacamole appetizer was larger than I've had in comparable restaurants and the enchilada entrees were also generous in size. Good chips and fresh salsa (lots of cilantro!). The only thing I wasn't fond of was the mango margarita. Way too sweet and no kick. I'm a real lightweight and felt no effect from the drink at all. I will return for the food, but won't bother ordering a cocktail again.

This is a fantastic place to sit outside and soak in the UWS. There is a good selection of margaritas frozen or on the rocks. The Paella was great as were the other dishes. There are many great restaurants in the area and this is definitely one to try.

Visited for lunch and were impressed. The dishes we ordered were large and filling. Staff were friendly and attentive. Mexican beer was cold and refreshing. Table of five all loved our dishes.

Cilantro is within walking distance from Central Park and the Natural History Museum. Like most non-chain restaurants we found in NYC, the space isn't large, but the atmosphere is nice. Their prices were nice for us two mid-westerners and the food was good.

Cilantro is located near The Museum of Natural History and Central Park. We had an amazing lunch. Highly recommend the Queso Fundido and the Empanadas. It was not busy midweek and perfect for families. Made the top 50 on a google search.

Came with friends we had 2 toddlers and a 10 year old with us. Waiter was very patient and pleasant. Food was absolutely excellent. For some reason I had very low expectations from this place when walking in, maybe it was the decor maybe something else. When I walked out this place, it easily became my go to place for Mexican food on Upper West Side. Very reasonably priced as well ( for New York ).

The food was plentiful - no shortage, and the people were very nice and very accommodating when ordering takeout. It just wasn't the best when we got it home. Nachos were overly cheesy and salty - and that's hard for me to say, and tacos were okay.

I enjoyed a hearty portion of chicken wings at Cilantro recently. The service was cheerful and ambience welcoming. The dip was tasty.

Nice place to sit outside, good margaritas and very solid Mexican foods. The tacos were very generous and delicious (particularly the al pastor pork option). Friendly service- pricing ok given the location

Fantastic Mexican restaurant. We were staying on the Upper West Side and our New Yorker friend took us here on our first night. We were really impressed. Service was friendly and helpful and food arrived after only a short wait. The food itself was excellent so much so we went back on our last night. I would recommend the Chicken fajitas as I had them both visits and there was so much I couldn't finish them. I must also recommend the cuacamole dip, it was superb and you get plenty to dip into. You will go away full and the prices seem very reasonable too.

We asked a local where to stop for lunch after a morning in central park, Cilantro was suggested so we went. It did not disappoint! My husband had the mole lunch special and the sauce was superb! The owner took the time to come to the table and talk to us making the experience very personal. The restaurant has a cute southwest atmosphere and indoor/ outdoor seating. It was quite and laid back, a very nice change from the hustle and bustle of the Manhattan. Being from Arizona, we enjoy southwest cuisine and loved our lunch at Cilantro!

Great Saturday brunch. Service was good, portions were ample and the food was tasty. Would recommend for couples and families.

I went to Cilantro on a Saturday afternoon. I got the eggs Benedict & my friend got the breakfast empanadas. Oh boy everything was great!! My mouth is watering thinking about the eggs Benedict. They had a little spice. Def recommend this place if you're in the area.

Large portions, good service, dining outside. Had Fajitas. very tasty . good guac. Accepted reservations l;ast minute while I was in the city looking for a place. would recommend for a quick bite or leisure.

This has become a favorite family spot when we are all together on the UWS. The food is reliable very good (and yes, spicy is spicy) and the atmosphere is casual and comfortable with or without kids. My chicken enchiladas were fantastic. Others enjoyed their choices as well. For the first time, we were disappointed in the margaritas which were only okay -- not the usual "thumbs up." And while our server was friendly, she confused a couple of orders despite repeated attempts to clarify. All in all, still a fun and good choice for a tasty meal in Manhattan.

Very good service and very good food, everything tried was delicious, burritos, brunch, Nachos etc... A nice detail: water and pancakes with a welcome cake. Highly recommended

The atmosphere was nice and the food was good. Busy place, but the waiters were charming, efficient and service minded.

Best fajitas and margaritas around. The fajitas are fresh, hot, tasty. The margaritas will knock you over. Lunch special was $5 margaritas. Dangerous.

Located near the Natural History Museum this restaurant was an easy walk up Columbus Avenue. Not too busy for lunch. I had the fajitas which were very god. No chips and salsa provided, a little disappointed in that. Service was good. Price was moderate for lunch.

I was recommended this place by a colleague so when I found I was staying in a hotel only about a mile away I decided to go. I was a bit skeptical when I saw the place and also when I saw the menu. It looked like most Mexican joints but when I got my food I had to agree with my colleague that this was really really good. I got the homemade guacomole and then quesidillas with blue corn tortilla and chicken and they were heavenly. The black beans on the side were some of the best I have had. I walked away very full as I was trying to finish my plate as it was soo good.,

we finished with the American Musem of Natual History and were looking for a place to eat and stumbled across Cilantro. What a stroke of luck that was. Cilantro is only two blocks away and features fresh mexican food. everything we had was great. We had to wait for about 20 minutes but it was worth every minute. If I'm in the area again, i will be back!

Enjoyed the queso fundido and salmon dinner. Salsa was fresh. Service was great as well. Dining available inside or out. Everything was very fresh.

Friendly professional staff made us feel genuinely welcome. The food was superb and very fresh. All this and at a very reasonable price for New York! Highly recommended.

Neighbourhood Mexican restaurant, so one should not expect too much...but their Enchiladas with Shredded Chicken in Mole Sauce were not edible. The sauce was so weird that we could not force ourselves to eat. Also the shredded chicken in it had a very weird texture, pressed dry...or something. However, the guacamole with plantain chips was good and so were Fajitas with Tequila Marinated Shrimps. Shrimps were plump, nicely grilled and very tasty. Service is OK, atmosphere is neighborly. There are many better Tex-Mex places, but if you don't want to go far, this will do. Except the Mole sauce. Don't.

The only thing this restaurant does well is the margaritas. The food is barely edible, with very little tex-Mexico influence. The fajitas are flavorless, with the chicken tasting onew step away from boiled, and the peppers and onions barely cooked. Their nachos have melted cheddar cheese that solidifies long before the halfway point of consumption. Their chorizo, and I am normally a big fan, tastes more like hot dogs than Mexican sausa6. Please don't make the effort as there are much better Mexican restaurants just north, and south, on Columbus Avenue.

Great place to go very nice food and friendly staff. Highly recommend to everybody. Mexican style good with generous portions

Twice in the last couple months our nachos are delivered without any of the fixings (which are already meager in size). Twice we are met with rude coustmer service and lies. The first time we were told we would be refunded some money which absolutely never happened. The second time the woman on the other line insisted that she had put the toppings in there and when I assured her that I was looking in the bag and they were not there she took on an irritated tone. They finally did send toppings to us but not with one thing more to compensate us for waiting nor an apology. This is already mediocre but inexpensive food. Still not worth spending money on being treated poorly and not receiving all your items. Too many options in this city to be treated rudely. We’re done with this place.

Was there on Jan 28 ,2017. Not a fancy place but with very good food, great service and very reasonably priced

We've eaten here many times and always found the food delicious and carefully prepared. Our favorite s are the stuffed chicken and the salmonfilet. Their Margaritas are unbeatable.

Four tables occupied on a slow night. Couldn't get a refill of water glasses so had to go to the bar. THEN couldn't get the check. Waitress WAY to busy flirting in the back to pay attention to her one table.

We've been in Cilantro just to rest a moment during a rainy november afternoon. Despite we just ordered two cups of tea all the staff was so nice, and they also offered some tasty snacks. Thank you!

Really liked the salmon and the black fish burrito. Not a fancy place, but has good food. We also received amazing on the house desert and cake.

Had the grilled salmon and it was excellent. Spicy is spicy so beware. Wife had the enchiladas and kids had the quesadillas.

We were wonder around after visiting the AMNH and found Cilantro. We had a great meal of seafood tacos and salmon. Nicely done. 👏😄

Whether you go in person or order on seamless the food will NEVER disappoint. I love everything I, and/or others I have taken there, have ordered. Additionally, service at the restaurant is amazing and delivery of food is always speedy and food it hot and delicious. Again, I couldn't give a better review of this place if I tried, it's fantastic! (Side note, I probably order and/or physically go there 1-3 times per week, depending on the week).

When one craves Mexican food, one thinks of the addictive taste of cilantro. It happened to us yesterday and we got what we wished for, and more. We picked Cilantro off a hefty list of Mex restaurants in Manhattan. What a beautiful surprise! Great decor, friendly atmosphere, very attentive waiters, huge margaritas on the rocks AND excellent sour mix, to boot. Steak fajitas were sizzling, cooked just so, served with hot, thin tortillas, pico de gallo and guacamole. The steak was absolutely perfect. The price of $24 for a fajita is a bit steep but, hey, it's Columbus Avenue! It's worth it no matter what. We'll go back in warmer weather to sit outside and take in the noise and the crowd. Until then, we'll just go back many times.

This is a regular location I go to for great affordable and authentic Mexican food. Welcoming and cozy place with friendly stuff. Recommended 100%.

Friendly and efficient service. Outdoor seating with awning was a benefit during a spotty rainy day with our puppy. Nice people watching while away from the Central Park crowd.

Food was tasty and service great. Nothing spectacular but we would return if we had the chance! one person in our party had the mussels and that actually was spectacular!

Used to be a good place till they served me seafood soup cooked from very unfresh fish most probably had been waiting for me a couple of days Tip - do not mind ask the question about freshness of ingredients. Do not hesitate to reject an order with suspicious smell of yesterday's catch

Three of us had lunch around Christmas time in NY. I had "traditional beef stew" which was OK (certainly not Mexican). And my 2 companions considered their food very average. The waiters were all working hard to keep up with the "crowd" although the place was only half full. Then there was a sour-puss faced woman who walked around during our 2 hours there, who seated customers when they arrived but didn't talk to them, take any orders, ask if everything was OK - nothing! She must have been the "owner with an attitude". When we accidentally spilled a glass of water onto the floor, she did nothing. Oh yes, she gave one of the waiters a look of scorn. Won't ever go back, for sure.

We were starving after we left the Museum of Natural History. We wanted a quiet place to sit and a good meal for our family. We have eaten at many good restaurants in New York City, this one was amazing!

and excellent service. We went on "fajita Monday" when they were $10 and bar happy hour - $6 for Martguerita. Very strong - be careful. The fajitas (steak was $4 more) were delicious - hot, fresh. A ton of sour cream, salsa and guacamole was served with the fajitas. Two others had fish tacos - way too much to finish. Also fresh and delicious. Grandson had chicken fingers and fries. Again, a huge portion and delicious. High recommend. Also on the east side and have had same great experience there.

Stumbled upon Cilantro on our way to our car. Decided to go inside. We enjoyed delicious frozen margaritas. The food and service was great.

Fun place and quite lively. The food is good but not exceptional. The portions are good. It won't WOW you but you will get a good meal at a fair price.

Came back after a month so, we shared a tasty steak fajita with some adult beverages to wash it down. Decided to have a frozen instead of the rocks. It was so sweet my face went paralyzed from the sugar. Had it sent back.

We had some guacamole and queso while sipping on margaritas. The drinks were yummy; Guam was good and queso was outstanding!

Cilantro has a nice warm atmosphere. Margaritas are fresh, cold and delicious. We had a selection of seats and selected a corner. Sal was an excellent host. Wait person was very good. Fajitas special blackened chicken was very good. Steak fajitas was cooked perfectly medium rare also delicious. (We were fans of Cilantro when it was located on Upper East Side. We had a flan for dessert very good. Highly recommend.

This is to caution anyone about Cilantro, which has been cited for inadequat food cleanliness and staff hygiene such as lack of hair nets where food is prepared. We were shocked to find a hair in a salad and complained loudly. This is why we will not return. Would you risk eating anything from this kitchen? Not us!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Never again. We wish them well in the future and hope they clean up their act and are able to pass inspection one day.

stay away from this awful restaurant! the food and service was atrocious. in particular the manager and the one waitress that continually interrupted us while we were eating. i will be writing a review of this awful place in every website possible. go at your own risk, but know that you've been warned!

I visited Cilantro with my cousins in August 2018. I am a big foodie so I'm always looking for amazing restaurants. Cilantro is a charming Mexican place. It has outdoor and indoor seating. The decor draws you in and the warmth of the staff is inviting. I wanted to try everything because everything looks so delicious, but I physically wasn't able to haha. Appetizers: Chicken Tortilla & Avocado ( I had this the last time I visited Cilantro and absolutely loved it, it's one of my favourite soups ) Guacamole En Molcajete ( perfection. This Guacamole is made fresh to order and is perfectly balanced with all the right flavours, I'm craving it as I write this ) well done. Shrimp Stuffed avocado ( one of the best appetizers I've ever had, this is hands down a game changer and a must try for anyone who loves avocado and sweet perfectly cooked shrimp ) Entrees: Grilled Marinated Skirt Steak fajitas ( the meat was the star as it should be! It was cooked to perfection. I added all the toppings including the guacamole & salsa and finished every last bite ) Dessert: Tres de leche ( this was incredible!!! The cake was infused in real rum & was dripping with a out of this world sauce! ) I also tried the flan ( creme caramel which was rich and had a beautiful depth of flavour ) they were served with whipped cream, strawberries and a white sauce that tasted like heaven lol ) Would I visit again? Heck yes! Would I recommend this to anyone I know? Yes I would recommend it to everyone I know. Thank you CilantroNYC for making my belly happy. I am one very satisfied foodie. And a big shout out to the owner who is always making every single person who walks in there feel like family. Can you please bring this restaurant to Canada? Thanks a million. Ng, Toronto, Canada

Great selection for our family of fussy eaters. Lovely food and a great service. Went for lunch following visit to National History Museum. Just a ten minute walk.

Went here with friends for dinner. Few vegetarian options but plenty for the meat eaters I was with so not big deal. We started with nachos which weren't too bad. Pricey for the size but decent. On to the main course... One friend had very expensive chicken tacos that she didn't even want to take home to go. Another had steak fajitas that within an hour made her violently ill. I ordered a salad. I have never had a salad I couldn't take more than a bite of. It looked bad, smelled worse and was completely inedible. If you are craving Mexican... Even Taco Bell is a better bet!

As Texans who live on Tex-Mex, we were more than a little hesitant to try Mexican food in NYC. Cilantro was a pleasant surprise. The fajitas were good. The Queso Fundido was very good. It is not the creamy dip-able queso that we are used to, but delicious in its own right. The chorizo in the queso was more like smoked sausage than any chorizo we've ever encountered, but that didn't make it any less delicious. We also enjoyed a pitcher of white Sangria. The Sangria was potent and delicious. We had Sangria at a few places on this trip and this was by far the best. The only negative was that the service was inattentive. Our server was friendly enough, just not very good at noticing when we needed something.

The overall ambience in the restaurant is nice. Reservations are accepted and honoured. Typical New York restaurant- not too big. It's location on Columbus drive on upper west side along with many restaurants is great. The margarita was seriously strong. Guacamole - I have had a lot better elsewhere. Food menu is limited choices. Good attitude of service but poor because it was crowded and not staffed for it. The lady taking care of us was managing a lot and hence waiting for everything from water to the check was the experience. The taste of food was also ok at best. Pricing is average for the kind of restaurant with $10 for a glass of margarita on the rocks. Overall ok experience - not sure if I will back there with about a million more restaurants in Manhattan for me to visit.

Had the shrimp and cheese enchiladas which for me were not too good. Shrimp and cheese really don't go that well together. The guacamole was very good. My wife's fish tacos were just okay---too dry.

Omg this is my favorite Mexican restaurant in the city. It’s cute and clean. The staff is helpful, friendly, and speedy. The food was absolutely delicious. Me and my two friends loved it! I had a chicken burrito and it was amazing. The salad that came with it was so yummy too. The chips and salsa were so delicious, it was the best salsa I ever had. We had flan for dessert and it was absolutely incredible. Everything was presented beautifully and was very tasty. I’m so happy I came here, I really enjoyed my food and the atmosphere. I recommend this restaurant and hope to come back soon.

We really enjoyed the very authentic Mexican food here, super enchiladas, we will definitely come back again!

This is a rare gem that I hesitated reviewing as I don't want to make it too popular. If you are looking for a quick and easy walk, just outside Central Park, affordable good food and superb Maragritas this is it. Drinks were $7, nachos and quesadillas $10 each, to feed a family on a budget this is it! Locals inhabited the restaurant while we were there. Easy to see why it's so popular!

We went to Cilantro on a Saturday night last week and had a meal that can't be beat. The margaritas are great and served in pint size glasses. The menu is Mexican buy with a few nice twists. My husband and I both ordered off the specials list and absolutely loved our meals. The décor is really nice, the staff efficient and pleasant. Would highly recommend Cilantro to anyone!

Stopped by with a dear friend for tasty margaritas just after phase 3 was initiated. Got a table under the awning and people watched, even saw Matt Dillon walk by with his GF.

Had lunch few days ago and wow wow..........best guacamole I have ever had, made to order in your spice preference. Fresh fancy chips, and oh, the best frozen margarita ever including Mexico!! And I could not believe how inexpensive. Please open one in Seattle:)

Excellent food, very nice and friendly family service. Nice mexican beer☺️ would fldefinitely come back once I am here again.

This was the first meal I enjoyed after about 2 weeks in Canada and a few days in NYC. I would have liked the chicken to be a bit spicier but other than that, it was lovely. I had a chocolate fudge brownie for dessert with ice cream and strawberries which was incredible. The waiters were attentive...when you could get their attention as it was REALLY packed, which is why it was incredibly loud. I ordered takeout from them a few days later too as it was so good. Only downside was my brownie was hard as rock where it was overcooked and then got cold.

All around excellence. Food was amazing. Our waiter was very helpful explaining and recommending the dishes. The lava cake was scrumptious, but so was the flan and brownie Ala-mode and the tres leches cake.

Stopped off here after a Yankees game and had really good service, and the food was great! Fully recommended for families, friends and couples! Definitely worth a visit!

Shared a great meal with five others. Various meals selected including pancakes, salmon, salad, skirt sreak, quesadilla. All great! Swift service, polite staff, immaculately clean rest room, very reasonable prices. A good experience. Would definitely visit again.

I usually don't buy Mexican food east of the Rockies. But the stuffed avocado (with shrimp) was good. The taco salad was devoured and the street tacos passed muster. The server was friendly and helpful. Our group of 5 ordered 2 margaritas which they liked very much. They could benefit from an infusion of real New Mexico red chili, from scratch.

We were ‘mistakenly’ mis charged more than we signed for on our credit cards - this mistake was for both me and my friend. I actually had three credit card transactions on my card. I phoned to try to get it rectified and was kept on the phone for ages, then told to phone back the next day. I asked instead for them to phone me and to charge the correct amount instead of what they took. Have still had no response…

Strong Margaritas Very good food Excellent Guacamole Indoor & outdoor seating Tasty Jambalaya Friendly servers Very reasonable prices

This place is strictly for the young and confused. The food is inedible. Tortillas are cold and rubbery. Actually, EVERYTHING is cold and rubbery. The over-riding theory about the food here seems to be to take a can of beans, add some tabasco sauce, call it Sort of Mexican, and what more do you want? Staff is of the "You got it!" school of service: just keep repeating that phrase energetically enough and no one will find out that you don't know anything about the ingredients. The place was remarkable crowded on a week night. Which goes to show you ... something.

We ate here twice within a one week period. The first time I thought the food was pretty good. We were with friends and were busy talking and didn't really notice how bad the service was. The second visit was with family and I realized that the food really wasn't very good and the service was not good at all. I won't be back.
Amazing Food & Drinks
We happened upon this location after wedding dress shopping and walking through Central Park. Adrian our waiter was personable and extremely helpful in picking a great lunch. And I cannot even start to tell you about the Margarita's... after the manager stopped by to check on us he sent over a pitcher to continue the celebration! I would be a regular if I lived in NYC this is a must visit.
