We came here during our visit in New York, following the positive reviews. The undoubtedly pros of this restaurant are the amazing views over the Hudson river and the overall interior design of the place. Unfortunately, we had a bad experience due to our waiter, who behaved very unprofessionally. We ordered two cocktails with our mains (one Cesar salad and one cheese and meat platter similar to a tapas dish) and they arrived after the meal and only after we asked our waiter multiple times. The food was alright, though the cocktails weren't great, with pretty much no alcohol (for $15 each I would have expected something better). Throughout our time there, our waiter never showed up to ask how the meal was and didn't even stop when we were calling him, so eventually we had to rely on other members of staff. Same applied to when we asked for the bill (we had to stop another waiter), not to mention how long it took to get it delivered to our table. As we felt neglected by our waiter for the entire dinner, we regrettably decided not to give him any tip. Nevertheless, the real shocker was when we received the charge on our credit card the following days: we discovered that an extra $10 was deducted from the total, meaning that the waiter added manually the "1" in front of our "$0" tip. Luckily we had kept our receipt, so we wrote a complaint to the restaurant management, who apologised and reimbursed us. While I appreciate the good behaviour of the general management, I find the behaviour of the waiter as very unprofessional and fraudulent, which ruined the overall experience. Aside from this, food portions are not excessive and prices are pretty high, though I would say still within the New York's average.

First time visiting and will be back. Our waiter, Lucas, was so kind and attentive. Didn’t feel rushed at all. Very happy to have found a new outdoor drinking spot!

We went for the location and view - which was great. The food was good, the drinks okay but the restrooms were closed and blocked off when we visited. When we asked if they had other restrooms, we were directed across the outdoor plaza to a row of porta johns - seriously gross. I wouldn't bother going back. There are plenty of better options with better service, facilities and comparable views.

Our server, Lucas, was INCREDIBLE! I was in town visiting a friend and we wanted a casual dinner and this was a great choice. 10/10 for service, atmosphere, and quality.

Located at Pier 26 this waterside place has a great Happy Hour deal- oysters and white wine were great ! Effcient and friendly service.

Stopped by city vineyard for a quick dinner with a couple of girl friends. Flor was our waitress and she was so attentive and wanted to make our experience as enjoyable as possible. The food came out quickly and was so delicious. Would recommend for a girls night out!

So, we needed a lunch break, after walking a lot of the Piers on a hot morning - stopped in, got a few wines, a charcuterie board with meats and cheeses, and enjoyed a lovely 90 minutes people watching, and generally enjoying life! Great place to visit, and if you get a chance to have Austin as a server, you will be in EXCELLENT hands!

My co-workers and I had a phenomenal lunch at city vineyard with fantastic service with David. The wine in tap is simply fantastic and the food was quick, hot, and well made. We are definitely coming back.

This is a busy and bustling place on a Thursday night! We had a reservation, but ended up waiting 30 mins to sit at an outside table. No problem, we had drinks at the bar area, which was loud, but very friendly atmosphere. Once outside, service was great, food was fantastic, and the views were perfect. This was a great choice for dinner. Seafood, burgers, crabcakes, salads - all good.

My niece brought us here . The perfect place to watch a sunset . Huge place with seating indoors , on the terrace and covered sitout as well . Loved the hot toddy and the mulled wine . Perfect for a cold winter day . The area outside thronged with runners , families with kids .

What a great setting for an early fall dinner - right on the banks of the Hudson River enjoying the emerging Jersey skyline with a beautiful sunset as a backdrop. This was our first visit to City Vineyard, but not likely to be our last. We started with the seafood tower combo and a couple of growlers of their locally produced wine. What a start! The hits continued with wonderful entrees of crab cakes and salmon, more wine, and some fabulous desserts. The staff was on it from start to finish - very competent and attentive from start to finish. From the looks and sound of it, we weren't the only diners enjoying our experience there. For a really nice evening away from the craziness of other parts of Manhattan, you can't beat City Vineyard.

Went for lunch with a large group and had a wonderful time. Great service.... it might have been because place was empty because it was a rainy day. But even the rain did not dampen our experience.

We were looking for a space to host drinks/food for extended family - this was perfect. Loads of space indoor and outdoors for large groups. As it was raining the indoors was chosen. Great service, DJ and loads of shared food choices. Easy access via subway for people coming from from multiple areas

I live in NYC and love this place for some wine with friends! One of the best outdoor bar views downtown. This was my first time dining downstairs and Flor was the absolute best and had great cocktail recommendations!

It was the warmest day in January...yes climate change is sadly taking over. But luckily our server flor was a beacon of light in a cold world. She could not have been a sweeter presence, with helpful menu tips and delightful conversation. Overall, our day at city vineyard was amazing - but Flor made it even better! We look forward to coming and seeing her again soon.

Walker in on a busy Saturday for a late lunch intent on enjoying some good wine and food on the waterfront. I was seated right next to the live band noisy but ok it was the availability. From there it went only down hill there after being thoroughly ignored for 20 minutes I left still hungry and never to return :-(

Wow what a spot!! Great bar and restaurant. We stayed in the bar for a long time on Sunday afternoon - a great place for post brunch drinks to watch the sunset over New Jersey. Great music, great vibe and amazing views for a reasonable price. Would definitely recommend.

Even in a COVID-19 environment, City Vineyard surpassed expectations for service and food quality. Janelle was especially attentive to our needs and all food and drinks were brought out in a timely manner. Highly recommend!

We had a great time at City Vineyard today - the views of the Hudson are unbeatable and the service here is excellent. Make sure to ask for Janelle when you get seated - she’ll take care of you! The food was also tasty - get the fries.

Day Drip for drive to NYC to Financial District for Parking in area around Starbucks in Tribeca, across the street for Unsweetened Iced Tea, to the 911 Memorial then to Lunch prior to Hudson River Cruise, to Century 21 and H&M clothing stores then to Dinner then picked up Chocolate Cookies for sweet treat before heading home

First and foremost, I just want to say that our server Brian was phenomenal. He went above and beyond with his superb service. Next came the brussel sprouts, it is a must try! I could of done with just the brussel sprouts and nothing else. They were so savory with perfect the crunch to it. Brian and the brussel sprouts were the highlight!

I went to City Vineyard for the first time today and will definitely return. The location couldn't be better, the food was excellent, the host and wait staff top notch! Chris has been mentioned a few times by others and I can see why--he is very professional, friendly and handles his job with great enthusiasm! I will definitely return!

What a meal and what a view over the Hudson to New Jersey on a warm balmy evening. The fillet steak was absolutely cooked to perfection and as tender as they come. My wifes chicken as good as she has had in a long time. The place had a real buzz and service and wine were excellent. Would definately go back for the whole experience. Only slight moan were the pre drinks in the upstairs roof top bar... Wine served in a plastic beaker in a trendy but upmarket place... We sort of got it but for us it was a bit of a no no.

We came here for a drink before dinner. I am so glad we did! We had a "Froze" and enjoyed the view. A vibrant crowd, but just an overall peaceful beautiful environment. I will for sure come back. We didn't have any food, just a drink! I would highly recommend!

We stopped by for a a glass of wine and Brian totally talked us into a magnum and got us a table outside by the couches. Perfect atmosphere and great service to bring friends out of town with beautiful views of the city. They take great care of you here especially with Brian

Party of 9 booked 5 weeks in advance for my mother in laws 60th birthday, we had booked transport etc. less than 24 hours before whilst in NY we received a text message stating they had a large booking at had to move our party to the outside terrace or reschedule. Unacceptable expecting us to sit outside in the cold or to reschedule. Tried calling 9 times on the number given, no answer and voicemail full. We have now been left with no reservation and unable to find a restaurant to accommodate us. This is terrible customers service and frankly do not deserve anyone’s business or money. AVOID

Had a lovely dinner here the other night - our waitress, Flor, was so lovely! We had the most amazing salmon and brussel sprouts complemented by a Cabernet and a spicy cocktail. Even in the winter, there was a cozy ambience, with blankets for the table. Thank you for a great night!

We ate in an igloo dome. It was a cold night and it was freezing inside. The appetizers were yummy enough, especially the Brussels sprouts. The real food was lack luster at best. The macaroni and cheese tasted like it came from a box. Nothing tasty. Definitely would not go back.

We called in on Saturday lunchtime and took a table on the outside terrace. The house rose wine was local and very nice. Our waiter was very helpful and attentive. The flatbreads were lovely as were the burgers. No bookings taken for outside but really recommend

Beautiful pictures both online and on TripAdvisor do this restaurant too much justice. The wine garden was disappointing, poorly lit and ill decorated compared to what we were expecting. The paella was good, but my girlfriend and I agree it was worth a price tag near $40 as opposed to $60. Definitely the biggest disappointment of our NYC trip.

We just spent 5 days in NYC to celebrate my birthday. We ate my birthday dinner at City Vineyard. The views are spectacular; the dinner menu was very limited; the food was average, and the service was poor. We will not be going back.

We had a late-June light lunch at City Vineyard. This was the first time that I have been asked to show vaccination proof. Some will find this intrusive; I found it preferable to having lunch with a bunch of strangers who have not been vetted. It was hard to find a table outside that wasn't in full sun. We finally found one that was partially shaded by the stairs, but the table itself was in pretty bad shape. But after that inauspicious start, the cheese and charcuterie plate was very good, and it was enough for two to share as a light meal. The Bodi Blonde (a blonde beer with a bit of coconut) was quite interesting, too. Service was good.

Nothing to say about the dinner and the service, the staff immediately showed themselves to be very helpful. Unfortunately it is not possible to leave 0 as a review: the external part of the restaurant, where we had dinner, was full of mice. I counted 4. And the even more absurd thing is that the kitchen, which is located outside, had the door open. In Italy a place like this would have closed before it even opened.

City Vineyard at Chelsea Pier is a perfect place to relax and drink/dine during your midday activities in the City... Ask for Brian to serve you as he is timely, courteous and friendly. Wow the lobster Mac is the best gourmet snack around... Enjoy this staple down on the water!

Went last Sunday for lunch with my two daughters to celebrate the birthday for one of them. The menu was very limited and most of them was expensive. The place is big inside and with a big deck outside by the Hudson. We seated inside, since outside was too hot. The food was OK, but overpriced. The worst was the service. Too long to get the order prepared and more longer waiting the waiter to bring the check and to take the payment. Nobody paid attention if we needed anything, a drink or getting the bill prepared. Not going there any more.

Rose and charcuterie what more could a girl ask for? Sun, water, a nice breeze, and booze! Never a bad time here. Also a complimentary glass of Prosecco god bless!

City Vineyard is so much more than simply a beautiful skyline and delicious food. The atmosphere created by the staff put our experience to the next level. We were made to feel comfortable and catered to all at once. Our server Brian went above and beyond to ensure we had a beautiful day. My family visited City Vineyard on a weekday night with high expectations based on previous Tripadvisor ratings. We were seated on the rooftop, and on the positives, the view towards New Jersey was quite spectacular. I ordered a bottle of wine. Obviously, I missed the fact that the wine I picked was from the tap wines section, but the staff did not point this out while I was specifically talking about a "bottle". The wine was served in a reusable bottle, and poured to plastic glasses. Food was mediocre at best. The meat in Steak Frites was overcooked and oversalted. A burger was ordered medium rare but served well done. The pizza was apparently ok. To top off our experience, service was not very attentive. For obvious reasons, we skipped desserts and coffee. I am not sure whether these shortcomings were due to a private event which was in progress downstairs at the time of our visit.

We came to the lounge for wine and the views - Flor was an excellent server and made us very comfortable. Perfect spot to enjoy the view in winter and can’t wait to come back when the weather is better!

I visited with my two teenage sons and a friend after a long day touring around the city. When we arrived we asked for outdoor seating for dinner and the hostess invited us to sit out front and wait - they do not take reservations. After a few minutes we were seated outside in the back patio area. The restaurant grounds are very nice and Pier 26 is awesome to stroll and chat at night. Beware the upper deck is only open to drinking age adults at the time we went. The back patio is cozy but has no picturesque views. Food quality is good. Staff is friendly. Facilities clean. Service prompt. Will visit again.

Normally a great place to eat, had to sit outside as which ok (private function) but food took ages to arrive , order had errors . Food was ok but family so cold , asked if there any where warmer and was told we could go on the roof ! Perhaps just an off day but a great shame

We recently had lunch to celebrate my husband's birthday at City Vineyard. Michelle was our server and she took great care of us. Everything was perfect. We were able to sit outside in the shade, it was a beautiful day. The food was perfect. We had the hummus, charcuterie and meat board and the margherita pizza, it was the perfect amount of food. We will definitely return when we are in NYC again and would recommend to anyone, it is the perfect location and setting right on the water.

We were in town for a class for work from Indiana. We wanted to sit and watch the pier and eat. We had the burger and fries and it was amazing. Brian was a wonderful server and made sure to remind us about happy hour. We would definitely come back!

Family meal on December 31. Impeccable cuisine, delicious dishes but what a disappointment for the wines! A map with dozens of references, but in fact many do not exist or no longer exist! As for champagne, beautiful Houses on the menu...and only 3 small bottles on offer! A New Year’s Eve! On the site it says that passionate winegrowers run the establishment: where are they?

The place is a cool spot to hang out and have drinks. The waitstaff were all very nice. As for the food, the whipped feta appetizer was very good, but their pasta dish with ricotta and a red sauce was tasteless, and their mushroom ravioli was good. However, there were some oddities: They brought the appetizers and the entrees out at the same time (?); they don't offer coffee; and after dinner, they brought out a dessert for my daughter (it was her birthday) with Happy Birthday written in drizzled chocolate on the dish and creme brulee on the side...which was very nice...but I had no idea they were doing that, and they never asked anyone else if they wanted dessert. So my daughter ate dessert all by herself, and people in my party wanted dessert, but after my daughter was done with hers and everything was winding down, no one felt like ordering dessert anymore. It was odd. I would not go back there for dinner, but it is a cool place to hang and imbibe.

Chris and Will served us, and boy did they serve us well. Great place, drinks, ambiance but even better vibes and better people. I highly recommend stopping by for a great day on the water in NYC.

City vineyard at pier 26 has breathtaking sunsets. Chris and Carlos gave us the royal treatment up on the roof deck.

Lucas’s service was impeccable and the crab cakes and mussels were delicious! Highly recommend the Pinot noir as well.

Sunday Brunch at City Vineyard was an absolute hit!!! Our server, Brian was so kind and patient. Took time to give us recommendations, and tell us about the products. The experience was that much more a pleasure because of his above and beyond service. This was our first visit, but we will definitely be returning now.

I found this restaurant on trip adviser, I was particularly interested in the views of the sunset over the Hudson. We were not disappointed. We arrived early but were made to feel really welcome. We chose to sit in the enclosed patio area and despite it being -17 that day, it was nice and warm. The service was even warmer. We chatted to various members of staff who were all genuinely interested in making sure we enjoyed our visit. The food was good, the wine even better! And the sunset 😍 The kind of evening memories are made of. Don’t hesitate - book for dinner, you won’t regret it. If ever I’m back in NYC, this will be my first port of call ❤️

My boyfriend brought me here for brunch. We were waited on by the lovely Flor and treated to good food and great ambiance. The brunch cocktails were delicious. They also host live music in the evenings. I would love to visit then as well!

We had a nice evening at the restaurant. Great service...actually, they messed up something minor and then went well beyond expectations to fix it. We loved our server even before that, but appreciated the effort. Sat outside on the patio and had great views of the city. Good food and great drink recommendations. Very happy we went.

This is one of my favorite restaurants in NYC! I came with friends from Vermont. We had the gazpacho and the charcuterie with cheese. It was all delicious! Brian B. Was our server and it is so hot today, he recommended the frozen monitors. We loved all of it! Great atmosphere on the edge of the Hudson.

The service is great the food immaculate Chris and Carlos are the best bartenders and servers there are. the drinks and the service is fantastic 10 out of 5 stars. The music genre it’s the perfect mood and the scenery is just amazing.

Met up with out of town family here and enjoyed the great views and friendly efficient service. Food was moderately priced for Manhattan and good enough. Cocktail wasn’t great, but others enjoyed the Pinot Noir. Would go again.

It was a frigid night and the hospitality of the staff made the room warm and welcoming. Andy was one of the most attentive servers I have ever had and made sure to let me try a wine and make for a smooth experience. Come here for the views. They are breathtaking (as is the wind that hits crossing West St. But after settling in, the experience is worth the trek.

First time coming to City Vineyard (here to see Aztec Two Step) and has a seat at the bar during their sound check. To start, the place is dog friendly, which makes me happy. We had a great bartender (Erin)!! She could not have been more attentive and helpful. Highly recommend coming if you want great atmosphere, people, music, food, wine and a great bartender!! Now looking forward to a great show!!

This review is not about the restaurant, which we really like. We went today for brunch and after cueing for less than 5 minutes, we reach the main door where a girl asked us the proof of covid vaccine. But before that, she randomly asked the couple behind us whether they were instead ahead of us (?!). Obviously the couple said no, and looked as surprised as we were. I wondered why she asked that awkward question in the first place and she noted (yelling) that she has to make sure people are cueing properly (?!). There was nobody behind the couple behind us..... We had a stroller so it would have been quite difficult to pass anyone ahead of us without being noticed. She was super rude and totally inappropriate with her question. The place is great and we love going there since years, so I am not giving a bad review to the place. It's just a pity that the first person clients come across upon arrival has such an attitude.

Great wine and the best paella that I ever had. The ambience is also very cozy and friendly. The view is a plus.

Arrived on 4th of July and was able to help us. The food was oky. Cocktails was great! The atmosphere good. Price a bit heavy even for Saffers going to USA. Pizza was a bit boring. Beer was fantastic!

What would've been a standard, run of the mill day at a random winery turned into something so much more. Brian Branson is not only knowledgeable of his craft but a kind hearted and genuine human being. Great food, great atmosphere and a heck of a view, City Vineyards is the place to go if you are looking for a casual drinking/dining experience. Ask for Brian Branson, you won't be disappointed.
