This is a feel-good place. Helping others to recover is a wonderful feeling. Everyone was very nice, and the restaurant is very clean. Good food and very pretty.

In all of our travels over the past 40 years, this was one of the most unique dining experiences we have ever encountered. I had done pre-trip research, as always, so I knew what we were in for. But you don't know what it's all about until you live it, right? Here we are, at the Comfort Cafe in San Antonio, Texas, at 2015 Northeast I-410 Loop, in Los Patios, a mobile location in the downtown area, near the Alamo, at historic Heidgen House. "Where miracles happen," they say. It is a go-to destination for breakfast, brunch and lunch. It also is a charity, a division of Serenity Star Recovery Resources Center, which provides a safe, sober and spiritual environment for families to rescue from addiction. Diners pay on a what-you-can basis with a $10 minimum requested. One hundred percent of all proceeds go to the program. Open from 8 to 4 and Friday, Saturday and Sunday, Comfort Cafe serves a terrific brunch. My wife couldn't resist what was described as the "all-time favorite," house-made corned beef hash with two poached eggs. I couldn't resist my personal favorite, Eggs Benedict, two poached eggs on an English muffin with Canadian bacon and hollandaise sauce. Another favorite isthe San Antonio Burger, a blend of beef and chorizo with cheddar cheese, bacon, fried egg and chipotle mayo. The menu also includes stuffed French toast, sweet cream pancakes, omelettes, pasta, salads, hot and cold sandwiches, grilled chicken, crepes, waffles and burgers. Upon leaving, you have a good feeling in your stomach and, most important, a good feeling in your heart.

One of the best brunch places I've been to yet. The atmosphere is so welcoming, it smells amazing, and the staff is beyond friendly.

it was our anniversary. The place is beautiful very clean. The food is excellent. The young man was not very good in serving. Had to flag him down for coffee more than once! they brought us our plate. The waiter never told us that the bacon was coming in way later. we were upstairs.

What a hidden gem right off the interstate. Our son recommended the place to us. The service is so great, food is absolutely delicious and portions were huge. I might even recommend sharing a plate of smaller appetite. This is a “pay what you can” restaurant with suggested minimum $15. You won’t regret going!

Amazing, delicious, wonderful! This was an all around fantastic experience and I highly recommend Comfort Cafe to anyone in the San Antonio area. It is a wonderful concept and the people were so incredibly warm and connective. We were looked in the eye and talked to by almost every employee that walked past. And the food is just as good ! We got: a coffee flight, an iced tea, the waffle flight special (raspberry churro, Oreo, and nutella strawberry) and the special Benedict (guacamole, bacon, poached eggs, and jalapeño hollandaise). Everything was fresh tasting and hot. And was just delicious. It was seasoned well and all of the amounts were in the right proportion. Truly a fantastic experience!

First time coming here. And hands down best place we’ve been to here in San Antonio! Cute cozy location out in the wooded area. We sat outside in the patio. It was a Fresh & breezy morning. Our server was amazing. Very informative. The food service was fast. The food was AMAZING! Stuffed French toast was (muah). I’m still thinking about it! Ha! If you haven’t gone. You really need to! We will be back! Most definitely!
Beautiful view, great food
Not only is this a beautiful place to eat, but the food is amazing! We had Alamo Benedict and an Italian scramble. The breakfast potatoes are great too.
