We had a solid late night meal at Connolly's. Burger, wrap and appetizer were all of good quality and well cooked. Service was fantastic, and the atmosphere is fun.

We tried an early dinner and were seated quickly. The server was thorough and food and drinks arrived quickly. My wife ordered the fish and chips that she thought bland. I had the same fries and they were pedestrian. My $20 burger was average. $10 pints of beer. A big check for very average food. Times Square as proximity over quality.

Very nice experience. A real Irish pub, in spirit and in quality of service. The people are very kind and ready to serve you as quick and as the best they can. I will go over and over again. Thank you.

Super Staff, Food and will appreciate the lovely experience forever. Gerry Gunning and staff were exceptional. Thank you all

My husband & I were so pleasantly surprised by Connolly's Pub. We stopped for a pre-theater lunch & found the food to be excellent. We each had soup - French Onion for him, Lentil Vegetable for me - and they were both really tasty. I had the fish tacos & my husband had fish and chips - again, they were both excellent. We shared a delicious key lime pie for dessert. We'd arrived early & the staff were great, not rushing us out the door which made for a relaxing & leisurely dining experience. We highly recommend Connolly's & will definitely be back.

Two Scottish girls visiting NYC for the second time and we had the best night of our trip here! We had only intended to stay for one drink (due to an early morning flight) but had such a great time and service was so amazing that we ended up staying for hours (thank you Claire for being so friendly and keeping us with a drink in our glass at all times) Will return if/when we return to NYC

Popped in as we passed. They have a good variety of spirits and cask beers but no kegs. There was nothing wrong with the place but nothing special either.

We had a couple of dinners and a breakfast here while in NYC, classic NY Irish pub, great food and wonderful experience. The Tele’s all around are also great if you like sport, I enjoyed watching the Masters while eating fries and drinking a local pint. Very family friendly and accommodating to the kids requests. Food was tasty and service was very quick. Would recommend it to anyone wanted a meal just off Times Square.

Just wanted something quick and easy and fancied fish and chips. Seated quickly and got our drinks quick enough. Daughter ordered the chicken tenders which she was okay with, we had the fish and chips. Unfortunately really didn’t enjoy them. The fish batter was thick and the fish inside was soggy. Don’t know if the fish was old or what but it really was very mushy…. Sorry but failed big time

My husband and I went to Connolly's for dinner and it did not disappoint. The service was excellent, the food very good, and the ambience perfect. An authentic Irish pyb with everything you expect. Highly recommend and would go back.

Right under our hotel, we had dinner there the first evening, just enough time to leave our bags in the room. Classic Irish pub style decor, good food, tried the classic burger, the vegan one made with black beans and a salad with prawns, all satisfying. Excellent Lagunitas IPA beer.

We lucked out on this Irish pub! Busy, buzzing and excellent food! Besides Irish fare it offers soups, salads and various American entrees. Extensive bar options if not for the wine connoisseur 😄😄

Environment is great. The energy is really good! For the ones that like IPA, there are several options. Also, there are many other options of beer. Food is also very good.

We happened on this place one morning on our was to the Empire State Building. Stopped in for a quick breakfast. The hostess was very friendly and actually took our order. I had a very tasty omelet with hashbrowns, served hot, and if our coffee cups got empty, they were immediately filled. I paid with a credit card and it wasn't until we were paying for souvenirs at the ESB, four hours later, that I realized I had left it at the restaurant, We immediately walked back to Connolly's, the hostess remembered us, said they had found the credit card and saved it for us. Now, that's service!

Dropped in for a quick lunch. Ordered the Tuscan vegetables soup and the Ribeye. Soup was delicious. Steak was very aveeage. I asked for the temperature to me medium because that normally means medium rare. What I got was medium well that was tough. The butter was just dumped in cold pats as an afterthought. Staff is indifferent. This place should be worried because both the neighbors have more attentive staff and better food. Pity.

Great food choice, some good old Irish classics. Service was excellent and plenty of beers to choose from. Reasonable price for the area.

Superb bar, good food and drink, attentive staff what more could you want just wish we had found sooner. We found the bar on our way back to our hotel from Times Square and would have visited more if we had more time excellent all round.

Went in for a lunch and to relax a little. Food was really good, the server was lovely and attentive. Free wifi and a great atmosphere.

Unfortunately this was the worst place we ate out while in Nee York. The atmosphere was so cute. The upstairs had a nice spacious seating area, it was lunch time and the place was not crowded. We got the kale and apple salad- it came with spinach. Loaded bakes potatoes, with one piece of broccoli. We thought about asking the server, but she didn’t come back and didn’t want to be “those tourist” that complained. But for the money in a group of 6 Eating a Panera would have been better.

We were there on Saturday night at 20:00. Shown upstairs as we wanted food. Not many people eating so lacked atmosphere. Offsetting this was the waitress was friendly and the food was good. Would I go again… no, I would go next door.

Had a few great nights here, delicious food and excellent choice of drinks. A BIG shout out to Gerry who went above and beyond to make us welcome with great service and chat, thanks Gerry, will definitely recommend to friends to visit you. From your Cardiff friends

Sat upstairs in beer garden , really clean and food was excellent , nice Guinness . Huge food portions

Great place. If you’re searching for an authentic Irish pub experience in the heart of Manhattan, Connolly’s is an excellent choice. the charm is undeniable. Portions are generous, and the quality is consistent. Highly recommend! Excellent service and fun atmosphere! Great place.

Initially chose Connolly’s as it was recommended by our hotel, 3 doors down. Then it became our breakfast stop for the next 3 days! Irish staff in an Irish pub, in NY! Suited these Kiwis just fine!

My partner and I visited New York on holiday, and we knew we’d found a home away from home the second morning we walked into Connolly’s for breakfast. We were greeted by an absolute gentleman named Bernie, placed our order, and the food did not disappoint — it was incredible. We returned that evening for drinks, as we were nearby, and met a woman originally from a town close to ours, no other than Norma, an absolute lady. The welcome we received was genuinely heartwarming. We fell in love with this little pub just off Times Square. On another visit, we were greeted by a lovely Monaghan woman, Anita — and she certainly knew how to run a bar and manage a crowd. A class act behind the bar. I thoroughly enjoyed every moment spent in this cosy pub while in New York, and I definitely hope to be back in the near future for the warm welcome and the sound of Midwest Radio playing throughout the bar. To Bernie and all the staff — from a Limerick couple, fair play on what ye are doing. 👏

We were staying at a nearby hotel so tried here for a quick dinner on our first night . Food was OK, burgers were nice, also tried chicken wrap- but bland & shepherd's pie- it was OK. Would return for the reasonably priced menu in times square.

Arrived in New York for a week long family holiday/ wife’s birthday celebration staying just off Times Square. Probably visited upwards of a dozen Irish bars before discovering Connolly’s serving the ‘ Holy Grail ‘ of beers - Kilkenny . The pub/restaurant itself is your usual authentic dark wood furniture which always seems to soak up the light making it dim but warm and welcoming at the same time . We had drinks - I of course had Kilkenny and thanked my lucky Irish stars that I’d found an establishment serving my all time favourite beer. The guy working the bar was friendly and made us welcome and we really enjoyed our time in there. We didn’t eat there but all the food coming out of the kitchen looked delicious, good portion size and looking at the menu reasonably priced. We will definitely be going back to eat and drink before returning home and I’ll write a second review but initial impressions are well worth a visit and you won’t be disappointed.

This place is very underrated!! This may be the best restaurant near Times Square. We came here on December 26th, it was packed but we had a reservation. We got to sit in the booths on the first floor, so cozy and festive. Our server was very friendly and attentive. I was blown away by the food for it being a pub. We started with the artichoke dip, which is pricey, but it has gruyere cheese on it, so good. I had the greek salad with shrimp on it, very reasonably priced, fresh and the shrimp were amazing (huge). I'm still thinking about that salad, and tried to recreate it at home. My husband had the bangers and mash. I cannot recommend this place enough if you need somewhere to eat near Times Square.

Fun Irish vibe. Beef stew was awesome and the beer selection was good. They had more traditional Irish food but the stew was definitely my go to Irish comfort food. ☘️

One of the Best places you will ever go to ! We went to see a show . The show was amazing!! We had dinner there two nights in a row ! The people make you feel like your family ! The steak in out of this world . The owner Rich is more than attentive to any needs . Orla is amazing like I said feels like you visiting family!! And last but not least. Our server Tara . I find it hard to come up with worlds . This young lady is a power house . Funny a light that fills the room . Awesome server ! We wanted to adopt her !! Three floors of fun ! Great food and people !

Popped in for a spot of lunch. Great family friendly establishment. Food delicious and reasonably priced too. Great atmosphere and well worth a visit.

Just off the path of Times Square this pub has an average menu and drink selection. The service was great and the portion size was fine.

Amazing food best I’ve had in a bar in years!! Service is unbelievably good! Great atmosphere for sports and with friends. I highly recommend

It was a place we passed by with my wife. We were so pleased that it was a place we visited every day throughout our entire vacation. Plus, the staff service and nice conversation made us come by every day.

I went there with my wife and sat at the bar for drinks. There were several barmen on, one was a young lad and very helpful and attentive. The other was a small Irish man who clearly has anger management issues. He was swearing 🤬 all the time and when a customer put money in the jukebox he turned it down and say “I will turn it off and give them their money back I don’t give a f!*k”. Really unprofessional, really nasty attitude. I asked for another drink to which he didn’t answer me, began to pour it and then, thinking I wasn’t watching, mounted “how about fu*k off you c*nt”. His colleague noticed this and took over serving me. If I hadn’t been with my wife I would have challenged his behaviour as it was just unnecessary and uncalled for and quite honestly shocking! His colleague gave me a drink on the house probably because of the little angry fellas behaviour. I wouldn’t go in here again due to this fella, absolute liability to the establishment with behaviour and attitude like this.

Visited Connolly's (45th) three times over our weekend in NY. Great food, service and atmosphere, close enough to theatres for a pre-show meal. Great options for share plates. Entrees were well portioned. Beer was cold and refreshing, especially the Connolly's lager! Looking forward to visiting again the next time we're in NYC!

Quick dinner tonight for 4: 1 appetiser (about $12) 3 x $23 meals (chicken pie, Irish stew, shepherds pie) 4 beers, 3 wines, 1 cocktail - $US248 (plus the obligatory tip) Hubby asked me to check before paying (I checked what was ON the bill) but not the total 😡

We were here only for a drink and a snack but really enjoyed our time here. The beer was fresh and the food was tasty - a nice pub all around!

Popped in for a quick beer this lunchtime, ended up staying for several whilst watching the football. A special mention to Gerry the barman, so efficient and service with a smile, really made us welcome. Had some bar snacks which were plentiful and well priced, would recommend trying this establishment if in NYC, and by the way, did I mention Gerry the barman....?

The bar was situated a few yards from our hotel and became our local for the duration of our stay. Breakfast was very good (with or without Guinness!). It really set us up for a days sight seeing. We ate there most evenings and the food was really good and priced well. We really felt we got to know the team a little and hope they got to know us. Bill really took us under his expert wing with advice and tips for where to go (and where not to go) to get the best out of our trip. Thanks Bill and all of the team members we encountered. We will be back one day 😘

The food is not very good. The crab cakes, and onion soup were not yummy. The pretzel sticks were ok. It is a bit loud inside.

Great Irish bar just off Times Square. Staff are very welcoming. Good selection of food and drinks on the menu. Drank here a few times during our stay and nothing but a good laugh and positivity from the staff. Roof top bar is ideal but we found the 2nd floor bar a lot more relaxed. Bar staff on every time we came in, made us feel Welcome and offered hints and tips as it was our first time in NYC. Breakfast was delicious and we had lite bites one evening with massive portions. Kudos again to the bar staff for a very enjoyable experience

We dined at Connolly's Pub & Restaurant because we wanted to eat at an Irish Restuarant while in NYC. My husband had the Fish & Chips and loved them. I had the Rubin Sandwich, and it was just Ok. It was a little dry and was open faced making it difficult to eat. The service was amazing. Our waitress was actually from Ireland, and we enjoyed talking with her. We arrived early as we had tickets to the Empire State building at 7PM. The place was very quiet at that time. It is also an easy walk to the ESB.

Ate here because we were very early for our booking at The Summit. Sat upstairs on a small table in the corner (where the tables seemed very close together). The food was very nice but service was not the best – During our meal we asked for a bottle of wine which took ages to arrive and we also had to wait quite a while for the bill – I think there was a change in staff which did not help. We also asked a waitress where our drinks were and pointed to a young man who had taken the order – she said “oh no, he’s just a busboy”. The young man in question had been very polite and had confirmed he would ask the waiter for our drinks – the tone in which the waitress referred to him came across as very mean.

We were in New York as a cold snap was starting. The Irish stew and a Guinness was just the recipe for a good meal. It's fairly loud and crowded even on a weeknight. I would recommend reservations.

Excellent food and great atmosphere. We enjoyed the classic Irish stew and curry curry chicken. The prices are good too.

Excellent atmosphere, was a bit noisy but that added to the ambience. Food was excellent. Left feeling full . Menu for food and drink excellent. Norma the owner made my 70th birthday special ,

Service was slow and while friendly enough was not the warmest Irish welcome! Food was good quality but excessively overpriced for the quantity! Drinks again slightly overpriced in my NY experience. And to crown it all they slapped a 20% gratuity on the bill automatically. Guys you aren’t that good!

So we had dinner here the day after St. Patrick’s day . We were told they were so busy on Pats day they may be out of some things but they had what we ordered . Started with a couple of beers and really enjoyed the Guinness . I had the Irish beef stew , and while it was enjoyable there were about six bites of beef , the rest being potatoes . For a main course at a pub , that was very disappointing . I left hungry as we did not have any appetizers because none seemed appealing to us as we are staying away from fried food . My wife really enjoyed the turkey burger and fries . We will be back and try other entrees

A big thank you to Orla, Ruth and Ian. Visited with my autistic son. Incredible people, great food, lovely atmosphere. Will go there anytime I have to go to NYC.

We arrived in NY this week and found this wonderful place Connolly’s. We have eaten the magnificent breakfast and the wonderful dinner. Management and Staff are so pleasant and helpful and always happy and willing to accommodate. This place is very clean and welcoming and we will be back.

Decent breakfast, great sausage and bacon. Quite a pricey bar really don’t get why unsure if it’s different upstairs to downstairs. Spent a few days in and out of here would recommend full Irish coupled with a Guinness.

WOW! What a great stop for lunch. Fish & Chips, and a pint - Fantastic! Service was top notch: friendly, attentive. Food was Excellent. In & out in less than an hour, and on with our day. Loved it - Thank You

We had about 100 people and we were using the open space on the 3rd floor. There were 3 bathrooms for our private use and a full bar. The food, service and drinks were all excellent. Afterwards we went the rooftop bar which is awesome!! Check it out!!

Very busy Thursday night in March,we had a reservation, but people were managing to get a table as a walk in. Service was quick and food and drink were good. Very noisy so if you don't like it Lound it might not be the place for you. The atmosphere was great.

Excellent service, attention and food, highly recommended. The location is very good. We went twice to the bar and terrace. Highly recommended.

Fantastic food. Busy pub had to wait for about 20 minutes before getting a table. Worth the wait. Irish Stew was amazing. Buzzing and great atmosphere. Service was great. Price’s good

Me and my friends went to o’connells for a girls Christmas night out and couldn’t of had a better time & the food was amazing, my friend had some dietary requirements and our lovely waitress Jennifer explained all of the options in detail, we were well looked after, overall amazing experience xx

Centrally located a block off of Times Square. Open very late, which is great. They make a great Old Fashioned and the butter burger with gorgonzola is fantastic. Prices are reasonable and just the atmosphere you're looking for.

So firstly I understand a busy restaurant and especially just off Time Square. But I am still a paying customer. The sequence of events 1: the restaurant was busy. 2: we were shown to a table which was in the pathway of all the all the staff and we asks to move, which the staff kindly did 3: we ordered our food and the appetisers turned up. The wings were ok, the nachos were soaking and soft. 4: whilst eating our appetisers the main courses turned up. 5: we asked for some extra time and to take the mains away, knowing they would come back after being under the heat lamps for 15mins 6: we were correct the mains came back out, dry and barely eatable. 7: after complaining to the duty manager, I was informed that this is an English thing about moaning about getting your mains out quickly and she said this is what fast food is like(defo not fast food prices)

We had such a fantastic experience at Connolly’s Pub near Times Square that we ended up coming back every evening during our trip to New York! As a couple visiting from Ireland, we were truly impressed by the warm, welcoming atmosphere. The food was consistently delicious, the drinks were great, and the service was excellent each time. Every member of staff we met was fantastic, but we want to give special mention to Darren and Patrick for their friendliness and attentive service. Bernie, the owner, was also a real pleasure to meet—his pride in the pub is clear, and it shines through in every detail of the experience." If you're in NYC and looking for good food, great people, and a true Irish welcome, Connolly’s is a must-visit. We’ll definitely be back the next time we’re in town!

Lots of TVs to watch sports, great chicken pot pie and hamburgers—delicious desserts. Very convenient to Broadway and friendly service -our waiter was Irish!!!!🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀

Pub very nice good food the “craft” beers are not up to their cost, insignificant. The very rude waitress asked us to pay as soon as we finished the sandwich, we wanted to drink 2 more beers but she blew us away. The icing then arrived on the account, they charged 20% tip without any authorization .... Unfortunately discussing with the help of the translator would not have been advisable. So we were abused and went out.

We visited here on our first evening as close to our hotel. We had food and drink on the rooftop bar and the everything was nice and enjoyable. There was good service, tasty food and prices in line with what you would expect for the area.

Fantastic experience, very friendly staff. Great selection of beers , felt like a proper New York Irish bar. It’s a must go if your in the area From a couple that live in London, Islington. 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼

Great food, great beer. We ate here on the day we arrived, so it was at the end of a long day. This was like an oasis. The beer was spot on (local ipa) and food was perfect. We each had a burger. Good value and great service.

You get cleared. Can't get water and smiles. Food: Yeah. French fries were good, but the rest loveless You get the bill without prompting and after 5 min you are asked again if you are done. Uncomfortable and unfriendly

Connolly's is a solid, unpretentious Irish pub where you can get a pint of Harp or Guinness, a Jameson and Ginger, and a variety of beers, wines and spirits - just don't expect a sommelier or a mixologist. Staff is mostly (though not exclusively) from Ireland - so don't get offended by the often dry Irish wit of the bartenders. Food is a mixture of Irish / British staples like fish and chips, shepherd's pie and bangers & mash, along with mainstream/US dishes such as burgers and potato skins. Everything we had was good - not fancy, not amazing, but good. This pub was just one block from our hotel, and so it became our "local," the place we went to for a casual meal when we hadn't reserved elsewhere and didn't feel like taking another Uber or walking around aimlessly trying to find a place to eat. The pub is two stories - the first floor has the bar/pub area (food is served there also) and a separate dining room. There is something upstairs - not sure if it is another regular dining room, or if it is private event space. There is another location near Times Square that, according to one of the bartenders at this location, is much larger (I think he said it had 4 floors) including a rooftop bar, but we didn't eat at that location.

We’re in New York City for the marathon and we decided to go to Connolly’s for dinner. The bangers and mash were authentic and paired well with pints of Harp Lager. A beautiful young Irish lass provided excellent service. We’ll be back!

service was slow, but it was nice once we were seated on the balcony and the artichoke dip was 👌🏻 so no complaints. prices average for area.

Beautiful old Irish pub with a perfect pint and great breakfast. The service was great! Ask for Tamera she is 😎 The Guiness is Irish quality

I love a good pub, and this one was awesome! These are some of the things we ordered. Pretzel appetizer, shepherds, pie, bangers and mash, tasty, shrimp dish. We stopped for dinner here while out around Times Square. Prices were pretty much in line with all the other times square eateries. Atmosphere was great a lot of beautiful wood and the bathrooms were clean. We would definitely come back for another meal went in NYC.

New York’s Irish pubs are a great way to eat decently and affordably in a city made expensive by inflation and post Brexit exchange rates. Connolly’s is one of the best, and very close to the Broadway theatres. We enjoyed a good post flight supper here when we arrived, and had a great Irish breakfast, with ingredients from home, another day. It’s also a good place for a decent pint or cocktail, and for traditional Irish music.

Amazing service. Fun Irish bar atmosphere and very friendly staff Darren Ryan and Carla. Made us feel very welcome from the first time meeting them. Awesome food I had bangers and mash and my wife the salmon. One to Def come visit when in the big apple.

Busy before shows, good service, a descent pint of Kilkenny. Fish and Chips and Salads are good value. Not overpriced. Recommend you book for 4 or more.

Brilliant pub , great atmosphere , beer was good , the guy behind the bar was brilliant .It was really busy but service was good .

We did a walk-by and decided to stop on our morning walk for a mimosa. Sean was the most gracious host. And the mimosas are delicious. Decided to return the next day and enjoy the full Irish Breakfast. Superb. Every part of the breakfast was delicious, especially the Irish bacon and the black&white pudding. Of course you must add the mimosas to your Irish Breakfast order. Connolly's will be a must stop for us when we visit New York. Just a short walk from Grand Central.

We came there to: - breakfast: service a little rough but excellent dishes including eggs Benedict and pancakes +++ - dinner: Irish atmosphere, copious dishes of decent quality, large choice of beer

We where in NYC pub who is located to 47 street. There was very nice atmosphere and bartenders where very nice. We enjoyed that evening.

We ate and drank here several times through our 4 night stay. Great, relaxed atmosphere and food was good. The Big Apple Cob was my favourite. The burgers were also amazing.

JUST RUDE EMPLOYEES, lying about rooftop availability… tables in front of the door were really cold… we asked to change table and they said that we couldn’t, and after that we saw them seating other costumers on the 2nd floor, wich was what we asked for…

The Irish burger was better than the one I had in Dublin. Excellent service and food. Friendly staff.

Sweet hard as a stone, the paper did not go but magically trying I worked, rude staff, you only save the sandwiches. I advise against coming.

Very welcoming and friendly staff. Very reasonable prices for such a centrally located pub in Times Square. Open until very late so was great to be able to go back for a drink and bite to eat after watching a show on Broadway. Huge range of drinks on offer.

We ate one evening with our children , very close to Times square , TVs broadcasting different sports matches , good food and friendly service .

Top food. We had 3 Irish Breakfasts and asked to leave some parts off and swap bits as my daughter is fussy and they were so accommodating and nice about it. The breakfast was superb and not swimming in grease. Best we’ve had in NYC

I made Connolly’s off Times Square my go to pub over a recent weekend . It’s not my first time here and it certainly won’t be my last. Great bar , welcoming friendly staff , good choice of beers , nice tasty food . Mark behind the bar , a fellow Irishman , is a champion . He looked after us like royalty every time we went in. Thank you Connolly’s team for adding to a great weekend , see you again soon.

Visited this place on the 1st day of our weekend trip and absolutely loved it. Great Irish/American bar feel to it. Numerous TVs to watch sports on. Bar had a great look with all the badges of law enforcement. Very good selection of beers and spirits. Staff very attentive. A must if a British traveller wanting a similar British pub feel.

Great place, excellent and very friendly service. I had a burger and a cider and they were both really good, not too pricy for the location. Would really recommend for a quick bite.

A friend has paid for us without requesting the check. When we asked to have it later on because the check was too much expansive, they answered: "we don't have it,because we have already close it, if you think is expansive, go in the Bronx". They rejected to give us the list of the check. 173$ for 6 beers, two gin Tonic and two hamburgers. The manager even threatened us to leave. Just avoid this place, there are a lot of more beautiful pub in Manhattan

Excellent Bar, we stayed at the Riu Plaza Times Square and found this pub after a day’s sightseeing so had a few beers, returned the next night for meals which were great and more drinks. Pleasant staff and a great location. Will be going back for sure on our next visit.

Had an enjoyable meal here whilst visiting New York. Pub has loads of tv screens displayed sport. Friendly staff, not all Irish though. Decent menu. Food came quickly. Quite expensive for what we got but represented being near Times Square.

If there was a zero star option I would choose it. I attended a casual friend "meet up" on Thursday night. The place was packed and I was looking forward to a great meal and a great experience. ( I assure you I am not hard to please) I was seriously mistaken. Upon sitting down, It took forever to have the server come and take our drink order. After waiting quite some time for our first drink, after we finally ordered, we took sips to realize that they served me a completely different liquor than I ordered and the mixed drinks we ordered were terrible. Ok so we figured people make mistakes.... We couldn't return them however, because no one came back for a while to check on us or see if we were ordering food. Finally a server came, we exchanged our drinks and ordered, Wings, artichoke dip, calamari and chicken dumplings. The new drinks finally came when the appetizers came. (Soo far about 45 min had gone by) and the wrong drink again!!! Same story, waited forever Do not order the artichoke dip and DEF not the Calamari. Awful, prob the worst Calamari I have ever eaten. Wings were mediocre and the chicken dumplings were good but only 4 little dumplings so have 2 expensive orders for yourself. We now ordered our dinner and another round of drinks . Dinners and drinks came together and mind you, the dirty dishes, glasses silverware were all still on the table and we had to actually ask them to clear the table for dinner???? Fish and chips was rubber and cold fries, The Gaelic Burgers were bland and dry, the Sheppards pie should have been amazing in an Irish pub, well it wasnt, and Bourbon steak was horrendous , a huge lump of fat on a bone. OF COURSE no one came to check on us so we got up and got our own clean silverware and napkins and I sat waiting for someone to make my steak exchange.. I didn't get to send back my steak because no one came around. When I finally got a waitress, she was annoyed and said " I am sorry it's not your preference". HUH? It was just a horrible night. I have eaten everywhere and just about everything whether it tastes good or not. I never leave bad reviews. But this was such a bad experience that I hope you wont go there after reading this. We were there for 3 hours. Only had 2 of the smallest drinks in a short glass for 15.00 each, didn't eat and left with regrets and a big bill So much more went on (or didn't go on) but I think you have the gist of the mess. Top it all off with an upset stomach all day Friday from just the little tastings I had. MORAL OF THE STORY Stick to BEER but don't expect it quickly, and eat before you go there. You are better off with food truck food eating recooked food food from yesterday.

What a find! This pub is super comfortable whether you're at the bar or a table - though the bartender is so friendly and knowledgable that sitting at the bar is a treat. The drinks are great, and they offer a nice selection of beers, including local IPAs. We had the spinach and gruyere dip that was better than your typical (much better!) and thoroughly enjoyed our stop in (so much we went back after dinner for night-caps). Ideally located and easily accessed, Connolly's environment is welcoming and comfortable, just like a pub should be!

Meh/ok. We had nachos for an appetizer. They were ok, The meat tasted like Taco Bell meat, not the chopped meat you normally get at non-fast food restaurants. I had shepherd's pie. It had the same meat. I could not even eat it. The mashed potatoes tasted like powdered mashed potatoes. My husband said his food was also ok, but overcooked. The staff was very attentive and the restaurant was clean, but because of the food, I would not recommend this restaurant nor return. There are many other good options in the same price range nearby.

The restaurant is close to Times Square. Great surprising cuisine, attentive staff. The setting is warm and one gets the Impression of not being in New York. Only one ''problem'' choosing a beer when you know nothing about it, the menu is impressive. In our case, we chose a beer not too strong and it was the best we had ever had. To strongly advise because in addition not expensive at all.

We arrived in NYC late on Tuesday night after having flown up from Houston. I hadn’t eaten and it was approaching midnight. The concierge at our Midtown hotel directed us to Connolly’s knowing the kitchen would be open. In we went, and after being seated promptly we ordered an Irish Beef Stew and Gorgonzola Steak. All was exactly and we’d hoped - food was good and service excellent.

Mo Chara, Well, here we are…. Honestly, this was unarguably the absolute worst food I’ve ever eaten (and that includes airplane food). I’m Irish, and by that I mean I’m an Irish citizen. I had done enough peopling for the day and just wanted to get out of the crowd and eat something palatable. Epic fail. I ordered fish & chips and may god help us all. The fish was so overly fried that it, quite literally, disappeared into what was trying to pass as batter. This was no batter - at least not where I come from! Sharp enough to cut the roof of your mouth and bland enough to pass for toast.. not an experience I’ve ever had before! Two bites of the cole slaw and I knew it had been made days before. It was wilted, the cabbage was brown and it was soggy. I gave a piece of the fish to my brother and he couldn’t eat it so both of the pieces remained on the plate after one bite each. Now that I think about it. I don’t even believe pigeons would have carried it off. I’m from San Francisco so $54 for lunch wasn’t really a shocker - the shocker was the fact that when I took the time to register my distaste - in a calm and friendly fashion - with a server, he agreed but then took my money. No attempt to make things better or to remediate the situation other than to agree it was a horrible meal. So all in all I’m guessing the positive reviews for this place are people who think they know what Irish food is. Or think they’re keen for Irish cooking. Folks, this isn’t it and for the first time in my life, I found myself wishing I’d gone to McDonald’s… Connolly’s - you should be ashamed of yourself. Is Mise, Cait

We arrived at our hotel (The Hyatt Centric) which was right next door and decided to pop in for some dinner as it was handy and reasonably priced. We were seated right away and the meals were served really quickly. The staff were very attentive and noticed straight away when we needed drink refills. The food was lovely. We enjoyed it so much that we came back for breakfast the following morning, dinner the next night and breakfast on our final morning.

The UNBEARABLE MUST NOT BE BEAR; if people like it, then better for them but the noise due to a terrible organization of tables makes you not able to understand each other. A supernatural not so long ago. The first girl looked tired, then disappeared. Very unpleasant Grandma bosses very well. Hambourger dry. Total in 20 minutes I left. And that for $145. The guinea pigs were fresh. And then they say Spanish. Talking to the bartenders, they know it's unbearable; but we must work. in a few years they will be deaf or crazy.

This was our third trip to NYC but the first time staying in Times Square. We've enjoyed Irish pubs in our previous visits but what a joy to find one a couple of doors down from our hotel - Hotel St James. This soon became our go-to; the atmosphere was great, with an extensive drinks selection and the food was delicious (the mozzarella sticks, chicken pot pie and fish & chips are highly recommended). More importantly was the warm, friendly welcome we received upon each visit!

"Welcome to Connolly's Irish Pub and Restaurant, where the craic is mighty and the pints are flowing like the River Liffey! 🍀🍺 Step into this slice of Ireland and prepare to be whisked away on a culinary journey fit for a leprechaun's feast. The ambience? So authentic, you'll swear you're in Dublin's fair city. And the food? Oh, don't even get me started! I dove into the Bangers and Mash like a hungry banshee, while my better half savored the flavors of the Greek Goddess Salad and French Onion Soup fit for the gods themselves. And let's not forget the Downeast Cider- a sip of pure Celtic refreshment that'll have you dancing a jig in your seat! Now, picture this: every waiter and waitress sporting an Irish brogue that could charm the shamrocks off the Blarney Stone. It's like being served by a chorus of lucky charms! But alas, not even the luck of the Irish could save our beloved Washington Caps from the New York Rangers in the Stanley Cup Playoffs. But hey, every cloud has a silver lining, and at Connolly's, that silver lining comes in the form of unforgettable memories and belly laughs that'll echo through the Emerald Isle itself. Sláinte!" 🍻🏒 Connolly's is our favorite restaurant so far in the city!

Very warm welcome and the cocktails are very good! Very large plate of guaccamole and chips! Close to Time Square but away from the noise! Excellent!

Basically a total rip off. Food was mediocre at best. What really vexed me was paying 20% seemingly non negotiable gratuity. Owner was rude and belligerent. Refused to allow us to pay less stating it was policy. If it’s policy then why do you not put it in large letters on your menu. Complete rip off. NEVER GO IN THERE. $32 dollars tip just to bring me two plates of food to my table outrageous

$173 for a few drinks and 2 ceaser salads No way Hosay We called in here today for a drink or two and a meal The waiter on the floor wasn’t very welcoming but we were thirsty and passed no remarks He brought us the first 2 drinks and after we dealt with the barman who was very nice and polite . We had 2 ceaser salads and 5 beers and 2 glasses of pink wine The service was pathetic and we were nearly afraid to ask the floor waiter for anything so I got all the drinks myself from the bar Food was nice and the general atmosphere was good Then comes the bill 173 dollars with a non negotiable tip of 27 dollars which I would have never given because of the attitude of the floor guy I was knocked out when I saw the bill and we have had far better service and food for far less I would not recommend this place because it’s just far too expensive and not worth the money Don’t mind paying for good food and service but this place takes the piss

We visited here twice during our week in New York. It was busy due to Sport on TV and some Ryder Cup fans returning after the second day. We eat both days and enjoyed the atmosphere, beer and food. The Guinness was spot on

Cool roof top bar/restaurant. The food is ok, Irish bacon is ok. Great beer selection, unique bar to visit, not necessarily get a bite. But, just get a drink!

Our first impression of Connolly’s was great. The service was friendly and efficient, and the food was good and tasty. Portions were generous and the draught beer was good too ( the wine wasn’t great) but the evening took a downward turn when we got the bill. Although the service charge wasn’t added on automatically ( good) there was a 3% charge for using a credit charge. I assume this is just a New York thing as I’ve never experienced it elsewhere and it happened twice in 3 days in Manhattan. Why? Doesn’t everyone use cards these days?

Great place even during the week to have drinks. Really nice service and good atmosphere. You can ask the Batman Barry to make you something special or just order from the coctail menu.

Lovely pub/restaurant in the heart of New York. We were pleasantly surprised by the food and throughly enjoyed the vast selection of beers they had on tap, would recommend. It is a nice environment to step into if you are trying to escape the hustle and bustle of time square.

0/5 older gentlemen at the door was a total unprofessional gentlemen. Preceded to question me about my ID. Sorry I look good for 24. Roll tide!

Definitely a spot for young working people in midtown Manhatten. They were gathered on the roof top deck. The fish & chips were delicious. The Mississipi pie was a great dessert to share. The service was excellent. Thank you Olivia! We would definitely select this restaurant again.

The worst attitude staff member I’ve ever seen in New York! Didn’t catch name but was at 19:10 on 11 Aug 2025. Our first night in New York we went in to the rooftop bar and were told to just find a seat. Had a drink and all ok. Second night went back, no staff around so found same table. Before we sat I saw this guy summoning me to the door we entered through, looking extremely angry. Attitude was horrific telling me I should stand and wait in the most confrontational way. I asked where the sign was and he turned square on to me staring at me. If he politely asked me to wait to be seated, would have been a “oh ok sure”. Instead with his attitude towards me, my wife and my young kids, I impolitely told him where to go and went elsewhere. Shame as first night was ok. If you’ve been bought up to treat people with respect, don’t bother with this place cause they didn’t get the memo.

Despite the location, near Times Square, the experience is genuine and the feeling is that it is not a tourist trap. Very friendly, helpful and helpful staff. Wide pub menu and several different beers in barrels. The food is good but slightly lean seasoned. The price level is ok for a restaurant near the tourist trail. Clean clean in the room and ok clean in the toilets.

Not far from Times Square is the little pub that spreads over three floors including a roof garden. We actually just wanted a quick drink, but we liked it so much that we stayed for lunch. The quality of the food was very good. The dishes were very tasty and Augs also had something to eat. The service was good, as we were there before lunchtime. Non-alcoholic beer (that's a rating criterion for me) was also available. The bar on the ground floor is quite impressive and the one on the first floor is not bad either. There is a wide selection of drinks, not just beer. The selection of food is sufficient for the size of the place. Sometimes less is more. We were here for dinner a day later and can only confirm what was written above. A visit is always worthwhile.

Great pub, really good staff & a brilliant breakfast, went here most nights of our 10 day visit to NYC.

Great place to get delicious food! I’ve been here each time I’ve visited New York (3) and always found it to be fast, friendly, casual and good atmosphere. Good value too! Close to Times Square!

Our server was great, funny, attentive but not annoying. Burger wasn’t cooked right (MW not MR), so wasn’t juicy and a bit dry. chicken pot pie was good though. Creamy flavorful. Food served quickly.

We were staying next door to this lovely place and, as a family, we loved it! We had breakfast, drinks and dinner here at various times throughout our stay and most staff were very friendly - Norma made each visit fantastic and we often enjoyed chatting with her. Drinks and food service was always fast, we never waited very long once we had ordered. Highly recommend and we can't wait to come back soon. Thank you Norma and co.

Absolutely amazing staff and the owner 💯 % recommend you visit Level 3 for live music I can not recommend this as the BEST Irish bar

This bar is great for a few drinks. Went there a couple of times during our recent trip to New York. Staff were very friendly & helpful, particularly Kevin from Dublin who had recently started working there. Ate there one evening - my friend had a burger & chips which got the thumbs up and I had fish & chips… the chips were grand but the fish was not so great I’m sorry to say. But the drinks were good and the atmosphere was A1

The site is very close to Time Square and has several floors. The food is not bad, although very greasy for my taste. The drink is very expensive and the prices of some things are overpriced. Typical Irish pub bar with atmosphere and music and full of screens with a multitude of live sports

We had a great meal served by cheerful staff at a reasonable price. My friend is vegetarian and said it was the best meal she had in New YORK. Our drinks and meal were served quickly and were well presented. We sat in the rooftop bar which was busy with a great atmosphere, we will visit again in our next trip to NYC.

Bar is nice, lively friendly, prices in line with NYC. FOOD, NO. Needed a magnifying glass to find the fish in the fish and chips. NO problem with the copious amount of under cooked breading though. the veggie burger was disgusting, Wife took one bite and left the rest.

We picked this location because it was close to the theater we were attending. Fish and chips were excellent. Burger was average. Rude and unfriendly staff. There are tons of other options.

Nice pub atmosphere with normal New York prices, only the beer is quite expensive. The burger was tasty. Central location in Time Square.

Had an excellent lunch while in NY, did not know this place and was a pleasant surprise to find it and choose it for our meal. The waiters are very friendly, the place is beautifully decorated and the food was superb, I had a salmon with veggies and smashed potatoes which was really really good! Prices are reasonable! Will be back!!

Great rooftop bar!Different levels. Typical bar food but service was great! It was nice to sit outside even in December!

Along with my wife Geraldine I celebrated the New Year in the Times Square area New York. I’d done a bit of research for what bars were in the area with Connolly’s coming up as one of the closest. During our first full day in the city we decided to give it a go for lunch and was greeted and seated at our table by Mairead who was warm and friendly and attended to all our needs. The food was so good we returned the following morning for breakfast and once again Mairead was there to serve us and once again the food didn’t disappoint. We were back in the following morning, which was New Year’s Eve and was looked after by Ruth and Eireann who both were full of fun and warm hospitality. With it being our first New Year in New York, we asked did we need to book to use the Pub / Restaurant, the answer was yes, however Ruth immediately said not to worry and we was welcome to join them, which was an extremely kind gesture. We’ve spent some time at Connolly’s during our New York visit and it’s run like a very well oiled machine with all the staff being friendly and efficient. For anyone thinking of visiting there, the Guinness is perfect, the Full Irish Breakfast is substantial and quality, and the Irish Beef Stew is to die for. A Big Thank You to Ruth, Eireann, Mairead and all the staff for their warm hospitality and it’s one place we will certainly be returning to.

Great place to visit,we were made to feel welcome the minute we stepped inside, staff great, food we had was superb, would definitely recommend and we will be in next time we’re back in New York

It’s a pub, so the drinks are good. It has a proper (nice) old school, traditional Irish Pub ambiance. The food were average. The Fish and Chips dish was decent, but the burger (pictured) was forgettable. I ordered medium rare and it came medium, understandably flavor was dropped by half. Service was fine and efficient. Prices were reasonable. This may not be the place you have to put on your bucket list, but if you happen to be in Times Square and want a place to hangout for food and drinks, this can be an option.

Just back from a short family trip to NYC. Had dinner here (great ribeye) and several breakfasts (right beside hotel with better options). Meals were reasonably priced and service was top notch particularly as we were ordering off menu due to picky eater children. Best breakfast in NYC with Barry's Tea to boot. Great atmosphere and staff and very weird to hear Irish radio in NYC. No hesitation to recommend and will definitely be back.

Stopped in before our Broadway show started and grabbed a table on the outside with street view. The wait server was so friendly and helpful with recommendations. He was spot on for our beverage selections and we enjoyed the large portion of fish and chips and shepherds pie. Quick service and wonderful meal out in NYC. Appreciate the friendliness too!!

Shepard's pie was amazing and so was the Guinness. All our party loved their food. Great service for dinner. We were there on St. Paddy's Day in the evening for dinner and then a concert on the 3rd floor with The Druid's. The bar staff was soooo friendly despite being soooo crowded. Folks had drinks in their hand on the dance floor area so some spillage but there was ALWAYS someone with a mop cleaning up in between the dancers. One of the best Paddy's Day ever because of Connolly's and The Druids. I want to plan a trip to NYC just to do both again!!

Most Irish ‘Irish bar’ ever! And that’s coming from actual Irish folk. We’ve spent our entire trip coming back to this bar, we’ve tried and tested every other bar. The best service from the friendliest staff in NY, special shout out to Norma on the door, Lorraine on the 3rd floor and the most amazing men on the 2nd floor Darren and the legendary Gerry! Thank you for making my first ever experience of NewYork the most memorable and Fun time, I promise I will 10000000% be back ! Grá Mor 💚🇮🇪

My cousin and I ate at Connolly’s for lunch in July 2022. Food: pleasantly surprised. I ordered a Salmon dish, and he ordered a shrimp salad (see pics). The food was delicious and above my expecting for a pub in Times Square. Service: courteous and professional. Decor: average pub decor. Cost: fair price for Times Square, NYC.

Very disappointed in the food. We love Irish pubs and this one looked good and the Guinness was excellent. This pub has several floors and the roof top looked really fun but we were told it was full and our reservations had not specified the roof so they sent us to the second floor. This was 4pm on a Tuesday so a bit surprised as overall at that time the pub was not very busy. The second floor was Much quieter but still very nice. After enjoying our Guinness we decided on fish and chips. We were so disappointed it was not fresh or flavorful. The breading was not good and even the chips were bland. We noticed others around us who got fish and chips also did not eat much of it There are a lot of Irish pubs in NYC and if you are looking for good fresh made food we would suggest you try somewhere else. If you are just looking for a good beer this is a good place

This was the best bar we found in New York l. Amazing staff, very attentive and not pushy. Service skills impeccable. Very very freindly. Luckily we found this bar on day one of our trip and this made it our safe haven for our entire stay in the city as our hotel was atrocious!! One of the members of staff said that the bar was just like CHEERS and believe me it truly was!! Thank you for making us feel very welcome!

Stayed around the corner at the Muse hotel.Traditional Irish food. We went here twice.Very spacious,so you do not have to wait long for a table.Service is very good.Prices were good for the city.

Bad Service …. My husband’s beer was great, My doughter’s hamburguer too, but I asked about a glass Of Wine, a cabernet, and it wasn’t good at ALL! I asked the waiter, how long the bottle was oppened, and he told me : “this is an irish pub”, and told me to go to another place to drink good Wine!! So, If you want good Wine, don’t go there! But if you want beer, it’s ok.

Me and my friends are teens and we went here for a school field trip and we were excited for this place but the waiters had no respect for us when and this was the worst service I have ever experienced

Visited Connollys after hearing the many advertisements on Irish radio. I didn’t have high expectations but I was still disappointed. The service was terrible, drinks were stale tasting (I had a Guinness and my partner had white wine which was both warm and extremely bitter). The food was ok for what it was but the French fries were soggy but the menu was very limited. The decor is quite dated and in need of a spruce up as it is very dated.

Of all the places we ate in new york this was by far the best place by a country mile.Norma at the front and Kevin who served us are a lesson on how to run a pub/restaurant chatty and pleasant highly recommended

Great atmosphere. Only called in for a quick drink on our first night as it was near our hotel. Be defo calling in again.

Great bar, perfectly situated just off Times Square. The food, especially the breakfast was great and the service was good

Great staff and great food, lovely atmosphere overall a great place. Brilliant place for couples or small groups.I’m proud that I’m Irish and I’m proud of this pub

Typical Irish pub, dark colors, all wooden, sandwiches are good and Service efficient, prices in line, to make a meal or drink recommended

This is just an old worn pub. It serves ok pub food and a good selection of beers. Entrees were served two minutes after receiving appetizers so you feel rushed and not relaxed. The bathrooms were disgusting and small which makes me wonder about the kitchen condition.

Stay away !! The rudest staff I have ever come across Just don’t bother going there There are loads of other places in area and they are a hundred times better Who needs to pay good money to ignorant rude idiots like these

Good breakfast with quality products, lots of beers, live music in the evening and nice rooftop recommended not to be missed

We discovered Connolly's after seeing a play. It's a perfect Irish pub. The bartender, who had been working there for 12 years, was from Ireland. He was so nice. We enjoyed a half and half: Guinness and Harp. We liked the drinks and atmosphere so much, we went back the next 2 nights. Fantstic atmosphere.

Love this place! I was fortunate to be staying a couple doors down and dined here for multiple meals during my stay. They have multiple employees who are literally from Ireland and speak with the iconic Irish brogue. They support Irish immigrants with work visas, which keeps it authentic. They serve breakfast, lunch, dinner, late-night snacks, and have 40+ beers on tap like any authentic Irish pub. Highly recommend. A+

Visited a number of times in recent weeks while on holiday in NY. Very friendly, comfortable, great vibes, attentive staff, thanks to our very friendly and helpful server from NI who will finish her employment tomorrow to return home. Owner took time to speak to and greet our group! All in all, a great family friendly Irish pub, a home from home with NY vibes. Highly recommended! Also visited The Perfect Pint. Would also recommend, friendly and attentive staff. Well done ya all!!!

Surprising! We passed by without any recommendations, we sat on the rooftop in the late afternoon and it was very lively. We went with our teenage children and the atmosphere was very peaceful. Cold beers and excellent service!

Went to watch the All Ireland Gaelic football championship and had a great time at the bar. Bartender was great, atmosphere was welcoming and we enjoyed the entertainment on the many TVs. Many around out had food from the full menu and everyone had a lot of fun! Will definitely go back!

A bartender in the Times Square area recommended this Irish Pub since our favorite pub closed during the pandemic. We enjoyed the loaded potato skins. Even though we didn’t finish them, we couldn’t finish our fish and chips and shepherds pie, which were healthy portions and served hot. Our server was very friendly. We will definitely be back when we visit NYC.

Awesome delicious food! Excellent Service. Wide selection. I had Irish eggs benedict. Brother had eggs toast potatoes, sister had yoghurt with fruit. waitress refilled coffee as often as you wish. Clean environment

We have just returned from a six day trip to New York and have nothing but praise for this excellent pub/restaurant. It is literally just a couple of minutes walk to Times Square, and given its location, we found the prices to be very competitive. The food was excellent, with Irish bacon at breakfast rather than the normal streaky bacon served in American restaurants, as well as some really good main meals for dinner. For us, the thing that really sets it apart are the friendly staff….always happy to chat and nothing was too much bother for them. Well done to Bernie, Norma and all the staff.

For the money, the best breakfast in Times Square. The Irish breakfast and oatmeal are excellent. Great experience and off away from the hustle of the square.

Amazing food and service! Totally recommend to anyone visiting NYC (or even locals). The breakfast was such high quality and was a great way to start a busy day in the city. No issues and the staff were amazing, always ready to help. Thanks for the great service!

The food average and very dry. Service average. Wasn’t exceptionally clean. The restaurant upstairs was quite dark. We visited a few similar establishments and this was the most expensive.

great staff, location and the fish and chips were so good. Must try them. Go during happy hour as with all new york restaurants, much cheaper - 16 regular drink but 8 during happy hour. cost of fish was about 19

Drinks were fine albeit not a pint but food and service were mediocre. Despite that the bill came with a 20% gratuity automatically included plus when settling the bill a further tip was added to the bill. When we questioned it the barman was very rude and refused to budge unless we could show him the bill - by that stage the server had taken it away. As a result we paid a $60 tip for a bill of $140. Outrageous and a total rip off.

We deserve no compliments for discovering this place since it is only one block from the Sofitel but it was a very, very pleasant discovery nonetheless. Very comfortable décor, wide choice of drinks (whiskey and Guinness, thank the Lord), very jolly, happy crowd, pleasant employees--what's not to like? Visited three times to escape snow, hail, and even gorgeous weather.
A nice pub and also good for breakfast.
We were after an eggs and bacon type breakfast, and we found this little gem. We were welcomed straight of the bat! Enjoyed the eggs Benny and the tea and coffee!
