I should have read the reviews. We came for a late dinner, and I had the homemade ravioli which were very good with lots of vegies - mushrooms, asparagus, grape tomatoes, etc. But I really wanted one of their salads and perhaps pizza and/or calamari. Husband had the tortellini with chicken which was excellent - though he did not order the chicken (waiter asked if he wanted extra cheese) and daughte had the gruten- free peene pesto with shrimp which also were tasy. If I were in the nieghborhood again, I would likely go again and have what I should have ordered. We had a nice Ravenswood Cab Sauv. Overall the wait staff were helpful and friendly.

Coppola's is a nice restaurant with reasonably priced Italian fare located on 3rd Avenue in NYC. I had looked around for an Italian place that wasn't TOO expensive but that also offered a decent menu selection; Coppola's checked both boxes and didn't disappoint. My tagliatelle pescatore was suberb and my boyfriend thought the fettucinne and beef short rib was fantastic as well (the same goes for the complimentary bread!). The service was excellent and the drink list was pretty extensive... all and all a good value and great, homemade pasta!

First time at this restaurant and we will definitely go back. Varied menu, reasonable prices and service was fine. The best part is the homemade pastas and the homemade sauces. The seafood was nicely done too. Nice space; noisy but not loud. Worth a visit.

We didn't have a reservation and we we're definitely on the fly but ended up at Coppola's And what a great find it was! From a very enjoyable bottle of Chianti to some wonderful appetizers and a great chicken parm, finished off with a perfect limoncello. We will definitely be back

Myself and my wife wanted an Italian meal after a long day in Manhattan. We were staying in the Murray Hill area and decided to walk and find somewhere. To our luck we came across this Resturant. The staff were very pleasant and very helpful in suggesting dishes, and turned out to be great suggestions and did not disappoint. Every part of the meal was perfect and we could not fault in any way. If you are looking for a good Resturant with freshly cooked food then visit Coppola's East.

This little restaurant was lovely, dark and quiet. We had delicious food. I had a pasta dish with a basil pesto that I couldn't finish. Since we had a fridge in our hotel, I packed up the remainder. We ate there again on our last night in NYC, but the service was less attentive and the meal a little less yummy.

We chose this lovely little restaurant as our wedding reception venue after reading alot of positive comments about it. We had previously had telephone and email correspondents with Benny since we live in the U.K and found him to be very pleasant and forthcoming. The decor is very tasteful, the atmosphere is absolutely charming and the food was out of this world! Staff very helpful and attentive too. Will return next time we are in NYC for sure. Thanks Benny and Salvatore!

Very pleased with our experience. Went to Coppolla's West at recommendation of our hotel. Very tiny but also quaint and a great NYC eating experience for kids. Meatballs were heavenly as was bruschetta and focaccia. Exceeded my carb budget!

Wonderful mix of Italian classics including lots of options to make a pescatarian happy. Perhaps the hugest portions I have ever seen in a restaurant. I cannot remember the last time I was unable to finish a high quality tasty restaurant meal. But this time I just could not

We enjoyed our dinner here having been recommended it. Turning up without a booking we sat at the bar until a table became free. Despite being promised "10 minutes" the wait was long, the bartender while charming a little slow, and after about 40 minutes, our tummy's rumbling! Charming Italian service, great food and enjoyable. The design and acoustics meant the noise levels were high - intimate and quiet it isn't - but this being NYC we felt we were getting the experience. We enjoyed it but given there are so many places to eat in NYC we're likely to try other places before coming back again.

This restaurant was outstanding in all ways. Luncheon for 5, food was the best, ambiance great, service outstanding and all at reasonable prices. The locals at our table will be back and when I visit again it will be first on list. We ordered appetizers : calamari, meatballs, fried zucchini and for lunch eggplant parmigiana , chicken over vodka sauce - every one of those dishes was perfect.

Huge fan of Italian restaurants in NYC, but this was one of the best dining experiences I have had in the last two years. Beyond amazing food, the appetizers, warm bread, and affordable - but quality - wine, the most pleasing aspect was service. Our servers, Luis and Carlos were attentive, friendly, and informative which made our night that much better. Overall, this was an incredible dining experience - which can be hard to find in NYC. We will definitely be visiting again soon. Bravo, Coppola's East!

I like this place I stop by for a drink, and came back for more. The Manager was so nice, and sweet. Will be back again!

Wonderful food, excellent atmosphere although it can get a little noisy. Priced just about right for restaurants in the city.

The stuffed mushrooms were a real treat ! My entree was the Rigatoni Pesto w shrimp...Best pesto sauce I have ever tasted !

I've been eating at one or the other Coppola's locations ( this one and the UWS 79th St Branch) for years now. When I visit NYC I almost always meet one of my close friends here. With all the choices in NY for Italian we pick Coppola's because we know we will be well fed at reasonable prices and the atmosphere , especially in the 3rd Ave location is a great place to relax and catch up for a few hours. The grilled calamari appetizer is fantastic as a starter. This most recent trip we both had a rigatoni special with Bragiole , meatballs and sausage that was delicious. Huge portions that neither of us could finish but the waiter had warned us that this was a "big" dish. Normally I get the veal but everything I've had here over the years has been very good. In nice weather they have a patio for outdoor dining and people watching on 3rd Ave. The Upper West Side location is a bit more cramped for space but the food is the same at both locations.

Enjoyed a delicious meal this past weekend. Ordered 3 entrees and enjoyed it family style among me best friend and boyfriend . The ravioli are delicious. Also the pancetta with vodka sauce and peas was one of my new favorites . Will be back to enjoy many more great meals here

Absolutely DELICIOUS!!! My women and I had a wonderful experience! We order seafood, Lobster, Crab, Shrimp, Fish.. ect.. It was super fresh, flavorful, and perfectly cooked! We ordered a white wine and one of their house special drinks, and it was delicious as well. We will undoubtedly be back! Highly recommended!

My friend from NYU Medical Center introduced me to this place. It had a cool clientele, all ages all types. The service was very efficent. Friendly but not too friendly. The best part of this place is the food. We had a dish That they called their signature dish it was rigatoni with a thick red sauce with a meatball, some beef and a sausage. It was delicious. Extremely delicious. We also had a Caesar salad which was good and tidbits of tenderloin which was good but a little chewy and a grilled calamari with salad which was also good. I plan to go here again.

Charming Italian spot with rich, authentic flavours and a warm ambiance. The pasta is fresh, the sauces are bold, and the wine selection is simply lovely -perfectly paired and generously poured. A delightful escape into Italy’s culinary heart.

Good Italian restaurant with an Excellent, attentive staff. Broad selection of choices fish, meat pasta. Decent portion size

Great pizza over here! I got the classic pepperoni pizza and the dought was really the way I like! Nice atmosphere and great service!

Managed to get a table as a walk in, the food was tremendous and filling, couldn't manage a dessert, I had the Tagliatelle Carbonara and couldn't fault it. Complementary bruschetta and bread was a nice touch.

Excellent food ! Great staff! It was so good we went twice on a 4 day trip :) The staff was great, sincere informative and overall friendly. I will definitely be coming back when I return. I am a pasta fan, too and I have to say

I can’t believe how hard it was to catch the game over dinner on a Sunday night in this neighborhood. Went a bar and saw the game is on TV but when I ask for the menu, they say, “Kitchen’s closed”. It was 8pm. Bartender throws the card back at me, like literally throws it. He was mad because they had a $15 card minimum but not my fault they close the kitchen so early. Went across the street and it was quite lively there and this time I even asked if they’re still serving food and I knew there was something weird about this crowd. It was Game of Thrones night so all the TVs were tuned in to this show. What? How can you even watch it without sound? Some bars only had one TV and not tuned into basketball and another great bar with a huge TV but kitchen was closed. Finally, found this place with the game on and serving food. The bar is completely empty and the TVs quite small but it’ll do. At least I can get real food here vs the regular bar fare. It’s quite busy here at the dining area and takeout counter is always full of orders ready to go. Service is excellent. In all, I managed to catch the game but not really the ambiance I wished for but not a terrible disaster.

Overall, good, not very good, Italian food. Went for lunch with a large group and had the $30 special. Plenty of options of appetizers, pasta entrees and desserts. Calamari were on the greasy side. Pasta vodka was cooked perfect, but overloaded with sauce. Tiramisu was good, but cake on the spongy side. Service was attentive. Interior modern and clean.

From the Starters to the Dessert, this meal was great! The pasta was tender and the white clam sauce was amazing! The pesto pizza as well as the fish we ordered was tops as well. You can't go wrong with this menu, especially if you like homestyle italian and large portions.

This restaurant was recommended by our Hotel. Good wine list, fantastic food and desserts that wow. I had an old "specials" list in my menu. Our waitress asked the Chef if he had the ingredients to make yesterday's special. Spinach gnocchi and ricotta ravioli , even the pizza was delicious. We split 2 different desserts. Wow, grand slam. Creme b rule, and tiramisu.

My boyfriend, my friend and I had the pleasure of dining at Coppola's one week ago while spending a few days in the city. We truly enjoyed our dinner, the atmosphere and the 1st class service. We wanted to thank Benny sincerely for his generosity and hospitality! Thanks for an absolutely incredible meal, wine and that amazing dessert! We will be back next time we visit NYC. Happy New Year to all of you!

We had dinner here last night. Great atmosphere. It can be snug for couples tho. The tables are close together which most restaurants are in NYC but if you have loud people next to you, you will not hear your companion. The drinks are strong. My meal was ok. I expected more flavor being in NYC and loving Italian food. The desserts are delicious. I would return.

We were on a girls trip to NYC, staying in an apartment on East 26th Street. Checked nearby restaurants on the Open Table app and decided to visit Coppola's. Greeted by staff and manager at the entrance. Seated quickly and waited on by Luis. We asked for recommendations and Luis confidently suggested customer favorites! Delicious food, beautiful presentation, and great service. Try it today.

Took my husband here for his birthday on a Saturday night. This is a very intimate and wonderful place to eat. The pricing is fair, food is great, service is excellent, and drinks are delicious! The entrees are very large so I would recommend splitting one. We got their famous Mom's Jumbo Meatballs as an appetizer and an entree to split and we were very full and satisfied. When we come back to NYC I'm pretty sure we will be coming back to Coppolas!

Copolla's was recommended by a friend and we weren't disappointed. The food was excellent. The service was excellent and the atmosphere was excellent. Highly recommend recommend if you are in NYC.

I was here several years ago and it was average italian. Stopped in here recently on a Thursday night and should have known by lack of crowd. It was late and I was starving. Had a basic salad which was pretty tasteless and opted for the special Mama's Rigatoni. Comes with several meats surrounding rigatoni in a tomato sauce. Only the braised beef was worth eating. The sausage was tasteless and cold. The oversized meatball seemed nothing more than cold bread crumbs stuck together. Sauce was way too salty. Sorry will not make it back.

Solid! Loved the experience and the food! Big portions but great New York vibe. The waiters were lovely and the free bruschetta to start was a really nice addition. I recommend the chicken parmigiana

We had dinner on a recent Thursday evening and it was a wonderful dining experience. The place was busy but not too, and we were seated immediately and tended to by no less than five different people, who brought us water, bread, wine, etc. The food was superb, My friend had seafood and I had a sausage/pasta dish and both were fantastic. The dessert tray was equally inviting. At the end of our meal I realized we'd been there 3 hours eating and catching up, and yet never were rushed to move along. On the contrary, the feeling we got was that they were there to make sure we enjoyed ourselves, and we did. I cannot recommend this place enough; I will surely be returning.

First, you gotta have a pasta dish here. You can’t go wrong with std meatball and tagliatelle or lasagna. 2nd. Don’t skip dessert. The flan is amazing (Italian flan) Very fairly priced too. We had 5 and total bill was less than $210. With cocktails

We real southern Italians were brought up eating "gravy" not "sauce". At Coppola's east the red gravy rules and all the menu items are authentic. If feel like I am in my Aunt Francis' house for Sunday dinner when I eat Coppola's "Mama' s Sunday gravy with meatsauce, sausage, meatballs, braciole, pork and beef over Rigatoni. On top of all the terrific specials, Coppola's setting is very comfortable and service is tops. Manager Benny is a great host as this neigborhood favorite.

Seeing the sandwich-board sign out front, I went in to try some of their home-made pasta. I sat at the bar. The bartender was also my server. He helped me choose wine and accommodated my dietary request with a special trip back to the kitchen to talk to the chef. I ended up with a pasta primavera that was good, but not something different from I might make at home. The dessert was extravagantly presented. I would definitely go back for the nice service and the relaxing atmosphere and some good (not great) vegetarian food. I would feel confident bringing friends here, if they were carnivores.

"Nothing to complain about" might not seem like it's going to be a good review, but Coppola's gave us a very good meal with nothing to complain about. We were a party of 8 that had 8 entrees, a couple of appetizers, a couple of bottles of wine, and a few desserts -- and the bill was a very reasonable $383 (including tax). We love Cioppino, and while Coppola's is not the best, it was very good and all the shellfish were well-cleaned. The wine list is pretty varied (something for everyone) and reasonably priced. The service was good, timely and attentive. Possibly the best thing we had was not even on the menu -- the bread is fantastic. It's a very good value that's worth a return visit.

The hotel recommended this restaurant and it was near by. The interior and bar area was beautiful. Service was excellent. Portions huge but I would not say it was the best Italian food.

This restaurant serves Italian food, and I liked the taglieatelle with one giant meatball as an entree, and a piece of chocolate chip cheesecake for dessert. The entrance door is a few steps up, and a temporary ramp is available.

Our fourth time ordering from Coppola’s East. Highly recommended! Mushroom pizza with three cheeses is amazing! Shrimp dishes great! Eggplant Parmesan top notch!. Someday hope to eat in because this place is elegant with great ambience. Not noisy so you can hear people when talking to them! Great food and service every time!

From the grilled calamari to the chocolate moose desert, our waiter made great recommendations and we followed him right to the after dinner drinks. Simple wine selection. When we need a little more room for plates, they brought over another table to make our space bigger.

Good food overall. Good service from staff. Erika is an excellent waitress. Menu was better in my opinion years ago but still sufficient. Only complaint is the sauces are a bit salty. Beyond that cannot complain. Prices are average for a decent Italian restaurant in NYC.

Really enjoyed this Italian neighborhood gem. Food was great, booth at back very comfortable. We ordered pappardelle with beef brisket, and artichoke appetizer. Others ordered chicken and fish dishes. Everybody was happy, and wine list was fine.

Although a table for 2 was very close to the next couple we enjoyed our dinner. The waiters were very attentive and the food choices were plentiful and large. Prices were very reasonable.

This restaurnat in the center of New York has an excellent service , delicious food , very good drinks and well located in Manhattan

We came here this weekend for dinner and were happy with our choice. The place is very nicely decorated, the tables are spaced fairly nicely and the place was not too loud, so the atmosphere is good and conducive for conversation to be had. The food was also very good and reasonable for NYC. I would definitely come here again

I've been going here for many, many years. The food is delicious!! By far the best Italian food in NYC. We are treated like family here. The owner, chefs, entire staff is professional and very friendly they make sure you have a great experience when dining here. All the dishes are yummy, my favorite is the seafood pasta and the bellinis yum! I highly recommend this restaurant. Can't wait to go back!

Dined at Coppola's for our anniversary - the service was lovely and attentive. I had the homemade lemon fettuccine with shrimp - it was delicious! My husband loved the ragu dish. Give it a try!

Had a lovely meal here whilst staying in New York. The staff were very friendly, on arrival we were given a complimentary bruschetta that was really nice! With our meal we were also given some freshly baked bread and dipping oil which were another nice touch! I had the chef’s special meat pasta that was lovely, although the mama’s meatball wasn’t quite like the meatballs at home or Ikea! My wife had the Rigatoni al pesto w/shrimps that she says is one of the best pasta dishes she’s ever had!

Food was very good. Atmosphere was pleasing. Waitstaff was energetic. Wine was very good. Food was a little above average.

Food was excellent, high-quality Italian fare, but the service was slo-o-o-o-w... Granted there were a lot of large groups for lunch today, but presumably most of us had reservations so they should not have been unprepared! The waiters also forgot to serve two of the five appetizers we ordered for the table, and only brought four cappuccinos when we ordered six. Fortunately they gave us a free bottle of wine to make up for the wait. I would go there again.

The food was excellent! Portions suffice. The waiter we had was just okay, but no problems. My wife is vegetarian, and she had no trouble finding something good to eat. We also ordered a Coppola Russian River Pinot Noir, which was extremely good.

Checked this out as had a hankering for good pizza. While the servings here are generous, the food is of average quality - passable calamari, and less than passable pizza. Considering the mid-level pricing, I didn't feel this tasted any better than a dive pizzeria. The atmosphere is stuffy, and the only high point was the impeccable waiting staff. Give this a pass. There are surely other better pizzas in the NoMad through East Village corridor.

We made a reservation for dinner at Coppola's East while visiting NYC. The meal was decent, but the service was awful. Apart from the hostess warmly welcoming us it was clear that our waiter wanted to be anywhere but there. He was unfriendly and disinterested and eager to rush us through our meal. As we were dining the rest of the staff were packing up the restaurant. The interesting thing is that there was a blackout the previous day which led us to an impromptu dinner on a chain restaurant that we wouldn't typically have fined in. What's sad is that incredibly busy chain restaurant in times square had outstanding service in comparison to Coppola's.

We visited after recommendation from hotel. Ordered buffalo salad for starter which was a bit on the small side but tasty. Carbonara and pizza mains were lovely. Restaurant not too busy but wait staff very attentive.

We came across this restaurant on our first night in the city, as we stayed in a hotel around the corner. So glad we did!! We had fried calamari and steak tips to start. Both were delicious. Calamari light and not chewy at all. The steak tips came in a lovely creamy sauce. Then we had meatball pizza and beef short rib ragu with pasta. Both dishes were delicious. A bit too much cheese on the pizza if being fussy. Overall the meal was really tasty. The restaurant was nicely decorated although tables were very close together which was a bit uncomfortable at times. And the meal was not cheap - with the wine being expensive( as it seems to be everywhere in the city). We had a bottle of the house wine and can't say we would get it again. Although the food was so tasty that we didn't really mind. Would definitely return on a future trip to manhattan.

Delicious food, large portions, great service, very reasonable prices, authentic Italian cuisine, knowledgable wait staff...I can't say enough about COPPOLAS EAST. We just celebrated my mom's 86th birthday at this really nice restaurant, and if you like good Italian food, with ample fish, pasta, poultry and meat choices to go with super appetizers, soups and salads, then this is a great choice. The meal began with complimentary crustini - larger, crisped slices of Italian bread, smothered with a chopped tomato-parsley-oregano-garlic-onion mix that was savory and very fresh. The waiter asked if anyone wanted drinks, and when we ordered wine, he very pleasantly concluded that we were strictly wine and no mixed or other straight-ups, so he left us to converse and relax. (And for the record, this restaurant treats the customer very fairly when it come to wine prices.) When he arrived with the wine, he handled the traditional small pour and patiently awaited the taste-test reaction; when we approved of the choices, he asked each guest if she/he wanted red or white, and the appropriate glass was provided, and the vino poured immediately. He then told us about the specials - which were on cards that were distributed with the menu - and again left us to continue chatting. I chose the grilled eggplant with a campagnata topping ($13) that included tomatoes, onions, garlic, olives, zuccini and goat cheese - the portion was almost entree size and perfectly done. The eggplant was soft inside, the skin was slightly crisped and every vegetable and spice was reflected in the overall taste - this was an appetizer that any Italian restaurant would be proud of!! One of my brothers ordered two "Pizza America"s for the table - the thin-crust (NY-style) pizza had a fresh tomato sauce and nice mozzarella topping. Although I really shouldn't have, it was so good that I ate three slices. From the looks of other tables, the more elaborate pizzas are meals in and of themselves - next time, I'll opt for the artichoke and garlic one!! The pasta fagiole also looked great, served in a very large soup bowl that was filled to the brim with the white beans and off-white colored soup that had a nice garlicky smell. I chose the Mahi Mahi special - two fillets served over garlic-spinach, which was in turn over mashed potatoes. Now here's where things got a bit sticky: one of the two fillets was too dry, and slightly overcooked. I brought it to the waiter's attention and he immediately summoned the manager, who insisted on re-cooking the entire dish. Please note that I didn't make the request: I was just letting the waiter know that the fish wasn't quite right, but they took the initiative to insist on a re-do. When the new entree came out, it was cooked to perfection: the mahi was grilled, but left soft, and the almond coating was appropriately crisp. The spinach was as good as any I've ever had, and worked perfectly with the fish. At $28, and given that I got two fillets (when many restaurants would only provide one - and charge more), I thought it was a very good price. Others at the table had the chicken meatballs, and they loved them as an appetizer. The salads are HUGE - one of my nieces had a salad with sliced steak over it, and loved. My mom had a shrimp scampi that she raved about; she normally doesn't get that enthusiastic about food. One nephew had salmon - he cleaned his plate - while one of my brothers had the snapper, which was a very generous portion. The dessert offerings were extensive and ranged from a riccota cheesecake (light, not too sweet) to a creme brulet to kill for, but the best item was the house-made tiramissu, which may have been the best one I've ever tasted this side of (and including) Italy!! It was light, very flavorful, but not overly sweet. The restaurant comped a very large piece (complete with a candle for my mom) for the table, and we all shared the delicious dessert (which came beautifully decorated with birthday greetings and plenty of syrup on the sides of the platter). At the end of the meal, owner Sal Coppola stopped by for a visit, and that capped off a really great experience.

Loved this little place. It just has a nice feel to it. It is dark and intimate, comfortable tables and chairs and artsy with exposed brick and interesting pottery displayed on shelves. Had a couple of pizzas, split a large salad and some wine and had leftovers to take home. Service was excellent.

Negatives first, this is not the cheapest place in the area, service was great but slightly formal andalongside the music choice gave a slightly stuffy feel. There want huge choice for vegetarians, but as an ex-meat eater done of the Mains looked great and you can usually tell a good Italian when its brave enough to serve great meat/fish with well prepared veg. the only negative with the food was that they brought some warm bread abd olive oil, but rather than being fresh-warm it has been toasted and was thus a little dry, iwould have been happy with cold good quLity bread. The mrs had spinach ravioli which was pretty amazing to be honest. I had pasta and veggies in a tomato sauce, which was a subtle blend of flavours that really allowed the vegetables to come out from the sauce, with the button mushrooms giving a sort of beautiful woody undertone to the whole dish. Portion size was great, just right for full without being greedy. Dessert was amazing. Ricotta cheescake and pecan pie, big portions but a real treat.

Tortellini dish was great. Chicken Milanese was so-so and dry. Portions were pretty big. Over all very nice white tablecloth type place. Staff very friendly and attentive. Ambience great. We just sat and eat and talked. Did not feel rushed at any time. I would explore other items on the menu and try something different next time.

We went there, in the afternoon, before catching a broadway show. We had previously heard before coming to this place that britney spears has once dined there so it must have met certain standards. And we were truly amazed by how delicious and affordable the food is. We ordered 2 pizzas (we were a party of 2) which were absolutely delicious. The atmosphere is really nice, and so is the service. And most importantly it is not overpriced. It is really offordable with respect to New York standards.

I had dinner here a few nights a go. First impressions were good with a nice seating area and opened glass at the front. However I made the mistake of choosing a pizza rather than one of the specialities (the argument in my head was that everything on the menu should be special enough!). The pizza wasn't great and at $19 wasn't the cheapest one in the area. What made the experience worse were the waiter who were all stood around my table watching me eat for the duration of my meal. Apparently they had nothing to do but it was a little off putting. I should say that the table next to me ordered oysters and they did look really good, so maybe it was a bad choice on my part.

My wife and I had a great meal on our final night in NYC. Great food (I had Moms meatballs with tagliatelle, my wife had Chicken parmigiana) ad the menu is varied with great options, service excellent. Fantastic, when we are next in NYC we will be coming here again!!

Coppolas East is definitely one of my favorite restaurants in the Kips Bay/Murray Hill area. The staff always spoils my table with impeccable service, and every item on the menu leaves you wanting more. The Homemade Tortellini Daniela is by far my favorite, and the Chocolate Cheesecake is to die for! If you're lucky enough to snag him, ask for the waiter Luis. He's the sweetest, incredibly polite, and was constantly attentive to our table. I recommend this restaurant to all of my friends who visit the city, and if you, yourself, are looking for a restaurant with top service, fantastic food, and a more than welcoming atmosphere, I'd definitely suggest coming to Copollas East!

This was good NYC Italian...I wish I could say more, but that just about says it all!!! Recommended!

Enjoyed the Veal Piccata. Dessert was excellent. So was the service. Also, IHS Alumni in attendance was great to the see them.

This is one of my favorite places in the city. For a good bite, don't miss it. Service is fantastic and the food is even better.

From the moment we arrived (celebrating a girl's 50th bday trip!), we were greeted & embraced for two of the most amazing meals I've ever had! Joseph, the manager, & everyone we encountered were warm, friendly & FUN!!! Joseph & the 'Rock' lookalike sang Happy Birthday the best that I've ever heard anywhere!!! The food was OUTSTANDING! So good that we went back for another meal...and will highly recommend it & return!

Place is quite pretty and the service is excellent. They have a very good menu but I wanted something a bit simple and not on the menu. They couldn't be nicer and the dish they made me was better than I imagined. We're definitely going back and it'll be soon. Should also mention that they have a beautiful bar.

We went for dinner, and the night began wonderfully. We were quite a bit early for our reservation due to our previous activity ending early and they were more than happy to accommodate us when we got there. The food was great for the most part. The chicken on my penne was ever so slightly dry, but not nearly bad enough to really complain. I had the sangria and it was probably some of the best sangria I've ever had. We also had the ricotta cheesecake. This is a rare find for me, and i just loved it! The staff was amazing from start to finish. It was also very reasonably priced. I would definitely recommend.

the best chef around new york and the best restaurant from new york....the best pizza , the best steak, the best pasta

Just wanted to say what a fabulous meal we had here on December 22nd. We’d arrived in the city that day and met up with our friends who were travelling for the holidays the next day so we only had one shot at having a great meal together. What a great choice we made! We had drinks at the bar when we arrived while we waited for our friends and the friendly atmosphere we were to receive throughout the night was immediately clear. When our friends arrived we were seated in one of the amazing booths and were then treated to an almost Broadway style performance from our waiter for the evening. There was plenty of unobtrusive advice given when we asked what was good and the performance continued throughout the service provided, which just added to the ambience of the evening. The food was exceptional, well priced and the selection was exemplary. The only criticism I would have is the price of the wines, although the one we had (Italian obviously) was exquisite. In summary, if you’re looking for an authentic, family run Italian somewhere near 2nd or 3rd Avenue on the East Side, you’ll struggle to find better than this. We will be back in NYC in the Spring and this will be our first port of call on our first evening in the city as the food is marvellous and people so welcoming.

Small high class restaurant that is priced great for NYC. We went with a group of 10 and every person reported excellent food. There are only a couple options for large groups so planning ahead in necessary. Service with prompt , efficient and friendly. Pace of meal was perfect. Not rushed and even with 10 people no one waited long. We were celebrating both a birthday and anniversary and they brought out special decorated plates, one that was not even ordered. Definitely will return and consider for gift cards

The large dining room has a warm rustic feel to it. The staff were attentive and seemed interested in the diners who were mainly local New Yorkers. The food was excellent - typical Italian - and served at the right pace for a pleasant meal. The wine list was on the expensive side, but then this is New York. Worth a return visit? Yes

We stumbled into here after craving Italian food in Midtown and doing a quick search online. This is the real deal. Sure, you can get spaghetti and red sauce. But, this has a bit more creative and authentic flavors than many Italian-American joints. They had many specials that all sounded wonderful. The waiter was charming and attentive. Serving sizes are very large. All of the diners looked like they were enjoying themselves. By the end of the evening, I almost expected everyone to break out into song, together. One point of recommendation would be for the owners/managers to review and revamp their wine list - the least impressive thing about dining there. But, otherwise, a fantastic meal.

excellent appetizers near an open window. nice wine. excellently prepared mushrooms, baked clams and bruschetta. so good we went back for home made tagliatelle and meat balls that were the best ever. one of the best meals we had in NYC.

This is great place for what we wanted- an Italian place that is nice but not too nice. We didn't want a pizzeria or a super expensive venue we had to dress up for. This was a perfect, cozy, family restaurant with delicious Italian classics. We ate here twice while in NYC given its proximity to our hotel and how good it was. You don't need reservations but you can make them if you want. I was pleasantly surprised that my eggplant parm came with mashed potatoes, that were topped with a giant potato chip.

Great Staff, great food. Try the black ink linguini in pink sauce with lobster, shrimp, and scallops . First had the fried calamari at the bar with the house Pino. Better then Santa Margarita. At the table we had mussels and baby clams in a red sauce. Then to the Black Linguini. I have eaten here many times along with the most picky eater I have ever met. This place is tops.

We went on a Saturday night with no reservations (my mom, my 3 year old and me). They were able to accommodate us, brought bruschetta (on the house), which was DELICIOUS. The wine was excellent (great selection and great prices), the noodles were handmade and the wait staff was fantastic. I had the tagliatelle carbonara - HOLY SMOKES! Everyone was welcoming, stopped by to say hello to my 3 year old, and was genuinely happy to see us there. I would definitely return on my next visit to NYC! And I'm bringing friends!

A lovely Italian restaurant; with a good by-the-glass wine list. The pasta was cooked al dente and the service was very good.

We read other favorable reviews on TripAdvisor and wanted an Italian restaurant in the neighborhood, so we booked at Coppola's. Not disappointed. We were promptly seated and a very nice and professional server took care of us. We enjoyed the complimentary appetizer. The portions were very large but I managed to finish the eggplant parmigiana. It was that good. As in many NY restaurants, it was pretty noisy, but that's par for the course these days. Would go again when in NYC.

Ate here on a Monday evening with a couple of friends. We were warmly welcomed and quickly given a table. Staff were attentive but not over baring. Food was good and reasonably priced for a Manhattan restaurant. Would recommend.

We're visiting here fromTexas and wanted an authentic Italian meal. Luckily our hotel front desk manager recommended us to this fantastic place . This was the best plate of pasta we've had in a very long time . The pasta carbonara is the best I've ever had. The service was outstanding and the ambience was exactly what we were hoping for .

Nice atmosphere and good service. The food was good but nothing to memorable. I had the linguine with clams fra diavalo, which was not spicy at all like I wanted it to be.

We were visiting NYC (originally from So Cal, now in KC area) staying nearby in Gramercy Park and had a fabulous dinner here! Great ambiance, great service (Bridgette sp??) & great food! Highly recommend it!

Unpretentious and delicious neighborhood Italian. Probably best taken out and eaten while watching football on a Sunday. Set your expectations correctly, order the tortellini with vodka sauce and chicken, and enjoy.

Nice decor, good food. Overall good restaurant. High ceilings and large space. Had the pork chop which was very good. All enjoyed the food

Based on Tripadvisor ratings chose this restaurant after a visit to NYU Langone Hospital a 10 minute walk away. The place has old world charm, excellent service and typical southern italian cuisine. Before 6:30 they offer a 2 course dinner with a glass of wine for $35.Delicious bruschetta was served prior to ordering ,along with warm bread and olive oil.The meals were quite good with only 2 complaints. The veal parmigiana was very tough, not the good quality veal I’m used to.The portions are big and 2 of us asked for take home packages.Unfortunately the bus boy mixed up the dishes and the recipients ended up with the wrong leftovers.Other than that we had an enjoyable meal.Would return but would not order the veal.

Good choice of Italian food in town. Fair price by the size of the meal served. A good choice of wines and desserts. Worth a visit.

We made a reservation for this restaurant which was a good idea as it isn’t very big and I expect it would be hard to get a table if you just turn up. Very warm and welcoming restaurant. Friendly staff. Very efficient. We didn’t wait long to be served. Great menu and found it hard to chose what to eat. Food arrived quick and was piping hot which was good and was very tasty with good helpings. Very nice selection of wines. Highly recommend this place to eat. Reasonably priced. Great tasty food.

We were walking around NYC on a Saturday afternoon and wanted to have lunch, most of the places we pasted only served brunch, not lunch. We came upon Coppola's and sat inside. The restaurant was not crowded at all and I was a little concerned of the quality of the food. Within a minute the manager,Joseph, came over to greet us, he was pleasant, engaging and professional. Our drink orders were taken right away, we received a nice bread basket and our food orders were taken. We shared a green almond salad that had a very nice combination of tastes, we then had a pizza, also very good. Service and food were outstanding, the layout of the restaurant is well done with different comfortable banquettes separating the space.

No sides with your dinner only the entree. Meal with a glass of wine will run $60 a person. Food is ok not authentic italian food more italian /american. I placed reservation 1month in advanced and confirmed when we arrived in NYC. We still had to wait while the waiters scrambled to put tables together for our large party. Very very tiny restaurant we had our chairs up against a wall all night they had to move the tables to let us out at the end of our meal.

First, our waiter was far from stellar. Bruschetta served "on the house". Nice touch! We started with the Baked Clams. What a mistake! They were clam shells filled with hard packed breading. There was a clam in each shell, but they were overshadowed! The Eggplant Parm I ordered was good, but took 20+ minutes to get the entree. We also ordered the Fusilli with Sausage & Spinach, good as well. Nice size portions. No dessert and no repeat performance warranted!

It was our first time to Coppola's East today for lunch with a friend. Lunch was very quiet with few patrons on a Sunday. Food was excellent - all three entrée meals were very good. Shared a starter and dessert which were not as good. Service was excellent, but it was empty perhaps that was to be expected. Definitely would like to return to the restaurant.

We needed to a restaurant that was close by as we had an evening event booked. Our hotel recommended and reserved this restaurant for us. It has a nice traditional Italian atmosphere. The seafood soup special was outstanding as was the mushroom risotto with scallops. The service was cordial and efficient. We would recommend this restaurant if you are looking for good Italian food.

Place was classy with excellent service. Had a 4 course meal which was delicious. Servers were attentive but not pushy or overbearing.

My sister in law wanted to go to an italian restaurant for her birthday and after trip advising places we found great reviews on Copploas East. We booked a reservation the same day for 7 ppl and all 7 of us stated that this was the best italian food we've ever had. Actually this was the best food we had on our entire trip in NYC. The atmosphere is great, the staff very friendly and even the owner came up to our table and made sure we were having a good time. We were travelling with a 14 month old and they accommodated us throughout the night. Some staff even bonded and walked the 14 month old around the restaurant (of course with parent approval and supervision). items to choose that are a must: the meatballs, seafood risotto with lobster and the lasagna. My only comment about this restaurant is that people have give the price as $$ however, i feel it is more 2.5 $ signs. For 7 people including liquor our bill was about $60 USD per person. I'm from canada so when we convert that it ends up being quite more.

I went to this restaurant twice on a trip to NYC, once with a large group. The food was wonderful. The staff was friendly and helpful. Overall, it was a great experience.

My husband and I dropped in on impulse late evening around 10 pm and found reasonable prices and great food. But the most impressive thing was our waiter Louis he was great in so many ways. Service with a smile and he would show up every time you needed something as if he had ESP. We found Louis to be about the best waiter either of us have ever seen and the food was great too. The next time we visit NYC we will go back. As a matter of fact we visited the restaurant the following evening due to great service from Louis!

I had the stuffed mushroom starter which was a decent size. The main chicken pasta dish was huge. Reasonable quality food and friendly service. Not cheap.

This is one of the best Italian restaurants in Manhattan, Period The food, atmosphere and service is amazing. Try their black home made linguine with lobster, shrimp and scallops in a pink lobster sauce. Yum Their wine list is also good. Their house Pino Griggio was one of the best I have tasted.

We had dinner at Coppola's to celebrate a birthday. It is a lovely place, great décor and the staff is helpful and friendly. I had the best eggplant parmesan of my life and the others had fish, pasta etc and everyone was happy with their meal. The only issue was that it didn't appear to be air conditioned and it was a hot day in NYC.

WEST SIDE REVIEW This was about the 3rd or 4th time I have had a dinner at Coppola’s and it never disappoints. This time around our table had the chicken parm, caesar salads, Pasta Fagioli soup and a margarita pizza. The pizza was good, but not as good as I have had here before this visit. All the other items were excellent. Service was attentive. We all liked the atmosphere of Coppola’s. Walk into the restaurant and pass the bar area then step down a step or two to the small narrow dinning area. Kind of like what you would expect of an old time Italian restaurant where maybe you would see Vito Corleone dinning in the back with some of his friends. Of course this will not be the last time dinning at Coppola’s and already looking forward to our next experience here.

Really good Italian food at reasonable prices. Lots of choices in NYC for Italian, but you won't go wrong with this one.

We recently had dinner with my family and friends. There were 10 of us and they were able to accommodate us with a round table. The food was excellent and the service superb. We could actually hear ourselves talking, which is sometimes difficult in a crowded NYC restaurant. I would definitely recommend this restaurant and we will be back soon.

short version: great atmosphere, delicious food I came here with a big group of friends and we sat a a great circle booth which made it so easy to talk to the full group versus having a long rectangle table where you end up having small groups of people talking to each other. The food was delicious - I got the fettuccine alfredo. Atmosphere was great and the restaurant was much bigger on the inside than looked like from the outside.

Looks like a dive from the outside. It isn't. I had pasta with their vodka sauce, which sounded strange. It was FANTASTIC! We also each had a lemon sorbet served in a carved out lemon. One of the best I've ever tasted. I'd go back tonight if I didn't live 1,000 miles away. :-)

We really enjoyed our dinner here because of the comfortable booth seating, relaxed service, and excellent food. I had the fresh fish of the day which was perfectly seasoned and combined with delicious carrots and tasty potatoes. The fettuccini bolognese was also excellent.

You can't go wrong here, great Italian food, generous portions, well prepared and good prices. Service is just right and the ambience is warm and welcoming and elegant.

Wonderful dinner out with the girls. Restaurant was perfect choice for great service, quiet atmosphere, great Italian food.Wine was consumed and complimented food choices with help from wait staff.Worth the price - not excessive. Would not recommend bringing small children. Bar upfront had a good crowd but we did not utilize it.We have been there a few times before and will go back next time that we visit. If you have food allergies they will happily make you something ! Chicken is great as was salads.

We came here for a romantic dinner. Greeted by lovely hostess who walked us to out booth. Its my second time here and i absolutely in love with new decor. Food was exceptionally delicious. Starting with Pizzetta $6 gluten free small pizza. Grilled calamari was fresh and cooked to perfection. Portion was big. I don't remember when and where i ate such a fresh vegetables - Arugula Salad was great for its price $9. Manager walked to our table and asked if we enjoying our food or need anything. I thought it was very attentive. All servers were welcoming, fast and always smile. Entrees OMG Stuffed Chicken with ham, swiss and spinach Cordon Bleu $24 brought me back home. My boyfriend ordered Lump Crabmeat Crusted Branzino $28 i couldn't decide what i liked better his or my entree;) Lava cake to top out beautiful evening. And great wine selection. Will go back there for sure! Highly recommend.

Great restaurant. 1st time we called in no reservation. They were very accommodating. First up was a complimentary hot bread with oil. Umm. Then bruchetta amazing. Being from Australia I was so excited to see parmigiana on the menu. I was not disappointed, my husband ordered a bolognese pasta. The service was great, the food was amazing. 5 star dining. We went back a second time for pizza & lasagne both were amazing. My wish was to try the desserts but i just could not fit it in😢Advice is to share a main if wanting dessert.

Good food although I would consider it overpriced. Not great on atmosphere but the waiter completed spoilt it with his pushiness.

Grilled calamari salad is perfection! Service is always great and the menu never disappoints. Never had a bad dish in this restaurant and never visit NYC without dining in this restaurant.

We chose this restaurant based on the previous comments on trip advisor, but we were very disappointed in the mediocre service. We were greeted in an aloof manner by the maitre'd, but remained hopeful. After being seated, it took awhile before we were acknowledged by the waiter. Bread and water was served, but after quite awhile, our waiter still did not welcome us or take our drink order. We figured out that the gentleman who gave us menus was our waiter and we asked him if we could order drinks. He didn't bother to ask at anytime if we had any questions of the menu and we felt this was no frills, cold service which we were not expecting. The restaurant is beautiful with a really great atmosphere and the food was excellent. My pinot noir was dry and wonderful and my husband's mojito was too tart from the lemon rum. He ordered this because their special "cucumber mojito" was not available (no cucumber) according to our server. The apple salad, chicken pizza, and chicken country style were delicious. Unfortunately he was not familiar with the menu, dirty plates were left much too long on the table and the level of service didn't match the quality of food. We will not return based on the disappointing service. I would rather give my business to another establishment that appreciates their clientele.

Really lovely food and lots of it! Very attentive staff. Well worth a visit.can't comment on desserts too full from first two courses to try

It seems almost sacrilegious to link big league Italian cuisine with comfort food, but after a long travel day, we were in the mood for both. A block from our hotel we found Coppola's on Third Avenue. What a gem! No reservation, no problem. The bar would have been fine, but they gave us a table. It was a great experience. They took care of us attentatively without hovering. Our meal choices were excellent, nicely prepared and presented and more than ample. Best Italian dinner we have had in a long time! Gramercy District folks, I hope, know how lucky they are to have this restaurant in their neighborhood. .

Efficient friendly service and very good food. I had the homemade fusilli with pancetta and it was great! We are definitely going back.

Ate here at the recommendation of our hotel and was not disappointed !! We actually were in a hurry due to our show starting in about an hour and a half. The waiter we had was very accomindating and sped things right along. He even went as far as going into the street and hailing us a cab. Our only regret is we had to rush the meal as the food was outstanding. Everyone at the table ordered something different and all we fantastic. We will most definitely be back.

We had an amazing dinner last night at Coppola's. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed the clam/mussels appetizer, outstanding sauce, perfect for dipping their great bread in. We ordered the Brazino fish oreganata, best we ever had. The tiramisu dessert was to die for!

This is a terrific NYC Italian restaurant. There were six of us and we ordered everything from the baked clams to pizza to braised beef on pappardelle. Everything was delicious. The Old Fashioned I ordered was great! We also split 3 desserts. The sorbet was full of flavor, the chocolate pudding cake (don't remember what it was called but that's what it was) was moist and exploding with chocolate flavor and the creme brulee was tasty but too cold. I think it was taken right out of the fridge. The problem I had with the place wasn't the food. Basically, our waiter disappeared after the entrees were served. It took far too long to take our dessert order. And after he took the order it took about a half hour to get dessert. That shouldn't happen. I recommend Coppola's East. You should be prepared to be assertive to get your waiter's attention if necessary.

We assumed that this would be a decent Italian restaurant, but nothing more. We were very pleasantly surprised. The dinners were excellent - wonderfully prepared and elegantly presented. The Chicken Martini was remarkably flavorful, tender and perfectly seasoned. The Capellini Coppola was delicious, and the capellini were cooked correctly (Capellini are very easy to overcook.) They had a deal which included a salad or appetizer, entre and dessert for only $30. The desserts are worth it. They are not overly sweet and very light. Since the proportions of the entrees are generous, the desserts were a fine ending. We have had meals of this quality before, but rarely for this price.

Came here for my birthday. Initially you are served bruschetta. I do not like it but others said it was excellent. For dinner I had the pappardelle bolognese. The pasta was fresh and delicious. Perfect amount of meat sauce. My younger son had the lasagna and said it was fresh and very good. My older son had the linguine and clams and thought it was good but not great. My wife had the ravioli and said it was delish. The portions are large so we skipped dessert. The restaurant itself is beautiful and spacious. In the front they have a very nice bar, too. When we are in the city, this will be one of our go to places for Italian. Definitely a keeper.

Service was excellent and friendly, but the food is some of the best Italian I've had anywhere! Can't wait to get back to NYC so we can go back. I would recommend this to the most discriminating of people.

We've lived in this neighborhood for over thirty years. Coppola's is the perfect place to dine when you want it to be "special" but not over fussy or high priced. The dining room is beautiful and the service is always perfect. I highly recommend!!

After 15 years of traveling to NYC for great Italian food, not sure why it took me this long to find the best one. This restaurant came recommended from a good friend, who knows the owner, who made a call to the GM - Benny and made it to my top 5 list of dining experiences. The ambiance is warm, cozy, small and very clean venue that makes you feel good as Benny give you a warm hug-not knowing me at all. But then again, its that type of place you see in the movies or read about and this is all before we've opened up our menu. Benny walked us to our table, took the time to talk to us a bit and w/in the first few minutes this delicious bruschetta was hitting our table. He walked away for a moment, smiled and said to enjoy our dinner. Saw him walk up to many other guests, hugs & handshakes all around; it's like he was the mayor. A handsome & patient server Terlete (sorry I'm getting your name wrong I know) took care of us for the evening, as we gazed over the menu not knowing what to get b/c everything looked so good. The mussels and fresh calamari is what we started with, now you might have had calamari elsewhere, but nothing beats this grilled calamari, so tender and simply seasoned. The large bowl of mussels was vibrant in a light but flavorful tomato broth w/ thin garlic slices. No canned tomatoes here, but fresh stewed, the perfect color of red tomatoes makes this an appetizer and a soup at the end. For dinner Braciole Fish was light, flaky along with the Snapper, both fresh and cooked to perfection. This is an Italian place so despite being full I had to try a side of the bolgenese; rich, filling and tastes like a recipe that must be a family secret. This would be a weekly spot for me if I lived here or anywhere in its vicinity, if you've never tried it, go for it and it won't break the bank at all. The service, ambiance, fresh cuisine aren't the only reason I'll come back here, but its Benny, his staff and the genuine hospitality we received with our new friends, thank you!

Our concierge at the Hilton Garden Inn suggested Coppola's when we asked for a quiet, local spot for italian food. ("We" are 4 college friends in NYC for a girls' weekend.) Our welcome at Coppola's was warm and we were seated quickly at a very nice table for 4 that gave us privacy and made conversation easy. And talk we did for about 4 hours! The food was very good. 3 of the four of us had sea bass that literally melted in your mouth. I wasn't impressed with the chocolate volcano cake or creme brulee but the sabayon was yummy. Dinner with appetizer, dessert and drinks was a very good value at about $50 per person. Service was prompt and professional. It was a great evening!

Went to Coppolas East last night. The restaurant has a nice cozy atmosphere. Service was very good and the food was excellent. We had the American Red Snapper, Rigatoni Al Pesto, Homemade Pappardelle with braised Short Rib Ragu and the Linguini Nere all' Arogosta. Definitely would recommend this restaurant. Check out my photos of our meals....

Wow! Haven't been to Italy in years. All four of us felt like we were eating there again. What a great dinner! Starting with the carpaccio, Mom's meatballs and calamari. Then we shared pasta carbonara and parpadelle with short rib beef (both outstanding) and then we had the Branzino fish which was so fresh and tasty. We were visiting from Cocoa Beach, Fl and will return for certain next visit. Prices were very reasonable and the service was terrific as well.

I've eaten at Coppolas on 5 occasions, and it has, for the most apart, been very good. The service is good, and prices are on the slightly higher side, but for the quality of food you are getting, it is worth it.

Poor service, food arrived cold and beverages warm. With all the amazing restaurants in this city, it is not worth it. :(

Restaurant with an old atmosfere. It’s a really nice place to eat thin crusted pizzas. The pasta plates are huge.

Are you looking to plop down $150+ for dinner for 2 for good food and conversation, this place is a "crap shoot"! I've been dining here since it opened in the '90s and the recent management change is quickly escorting it down the toilet! I was in the company of an elderly friend who had recently recovered from a long serious illness. We were celebrating. I will also mention that she doesn't hear very well and has a very weak voice. We were seated next to a large party of a few adults and several ear-piecing, shrieking children. It got to the point where neither my friend nor myself could hear the other. Other diners around us were cringing and rolling their eyes. The waiter was asked if he might intervene and he said, Oh, no - I'm just a waiter"! So we asked that he consult the manager. Having done so, the manager Gino shrugged and did nothing. My guest and I were left to eat our mediocre meals in our silence surrounded by this screech fest! On our departure, Gino tried to ignore us but I approached him and mentioned our disappointment. I was told that if I didn't like it, don't come any more - that all customers are equal and this wasn't a place where you could come and expect to be able to relax and read a book (HIS words!) I told him that this was an atmosphere I would expect at Applebee's or Mc Donalds. He said he didn't need customers like me! Mr. Coppola, I hope you see this and consider yourself warned. This manager is poison for your business. He manages nothing. It has been neighborhood customers such as myself that have helped your success in this area since it's opening. If I'm expected to spend $34 on a mediocre salmon dish, I think a little more consideration should be extended.

Good Italian staples and big portions. Friendly staff and casual atmosphere. Great for a dinner with friends.

Was in the area looking for a quick dinner and Cappolas. Restaurant is small. We were seated very quickly. The served a complimentary pice of brusetta and it was excellent. I ordered shrimp parmigiana and it was very good. Nice size shrimp and sauce was good Highly recommend Cappolas

We were a large group ((11) getting together for a birthday celebration. The staff could not have been more gracious and attentive to our party. The food was fantastic and we are a picky group of diners! Everyone was more than pleased with their choice for dinner and our servers were wonderful.

Dined at Coppola's on a late Friday evening. We did not have reservations, but they were able to accommodate two. The restaurant was at approximately 85% capacity, but due to the size, did not feel crowded. There was ample room between tables and chairs for a comfortable dining experience. A bonus, as most NYC restaurants fill their dining areas to capacity and often times...exceed them. Due to the restaurants vast space, noise from other patrons was not an issue. In total we ordered 2 beers, 2 glasses of wine, an appetizer and 2 entrees. The total bill was $112.00....a bargain for fine dining in NYC. The service was excellent....water was refilled, bread and olive oil was replenished..etc. I highly recommend the Mussels as an appetizer and the Pesto Rigatoni as entree.

The staff at this restaurant really made me and my bf feel very special. Fully recommend the vodka pasta, it's amazing, can really taste the vodka! My boyfriend got the stripped rib beef pasta and was also amazing. Cannot fault this place.

Didn't have a reservation but dined early (5:30-6:00 ish) on a Sunday and were seated immediately. Service was friendly and very attentive - water filled, plates bussed, etc. The portions were generous and the food excellent. My wife had the chicken parm and, as is traditional, it was a thin chicken cutlet, but it covered her entire plate and was well seasoned and crisp. I had the tortelini with light vodka sauce and added grilled chicken. The sauce wasn't too heavy and the pasta and chicken were just right. It's not inexpensive, but, given it's NYC, it was reasonable - salads, bread, mains and a shared desert was around $85 with a generous tip.

This was the second time I visited this restaurant. This time as a group of 12. I really had a hard time making a reservation since you have to call them if you're over 7 people. I did so and also spoke with someone but never felt secure with that so I tried to get a feedback 1 week before we arrived but they didn't´respond to Facebook message and theres no emailadress. Since we where so many one really needs that confirmation. Anyway, It worked and we were nicely welcomed. great food, especially the carpaccio, bruschetta and the rigatoni pesto. I will gladly recommend this restaurant for families and friends.

Had lunch with a friend. The fried calamari had no batter coating it and was very chewy. Not appetizing at all. The seafood risotto that I had came with too much rubbery calamari (again) and too little of the other seafood. The rice was ok but missing the sauce that a good risotto has. One of the worst risotto's I have had. Lunch for two; one appetizer, one pasta, one risotto and two glasses of wine was over $70.00. Not a bargain and not even reasonable.

Just a great meal and pretty reasonably priced for Manhattan. Don't bother with the menu, just go for the filet mignon, you won't regret it. Good service, friendly staff, decent wine list - all without the hype you get on Mulberry Street. We dined at Acapella earlier in the year and this just as good for half the price.

We’ve been dining here for years and love it. Great menu with fabulous selections, portions are generous and food is always excellent. Many of the pastas are home made. Great desserts too! Wine and cocktail selections are outstanding. The service is fantastic. Staff is always friendly, attentive and professional. Restaurant had a really nice ambiance. Highly recommend!

Omg!!! I felt like home! Great service and delicious food!!! Check it out!!! The pasta was cooked perfectly like I made it!

Our hotel recommended this restaurant when we asked for a good local Italian restaurant. We visited with friends and we were given a warm welcome. Mr B and I agree that this was one of the best meals we have had in New York. We returned the following night to try a take out pizza, which we also enjoyed. The desert trolley was too tempting to resist too. All in all a great experience. We will return to this restaurant the next time we vist New York.

TripAdvisor seem to be confused about the location of Coppolas. We went to the restaurant on 27th in Midtown. Food was delicious home cooked Italian, big portions of course. House salad followed by meatball ragu with rigatoni , couldn't manage dessert. Great service too and reasonable prices too. The restaurant has done a good job in recruiting all the concierges in the local hotels to recommend them. We gladly took up the offer of 15 percent discount.

The best thing anyone can say about their first visit to a restaurant is “We will diffidently be back” and be pleased to recommend that restaurant to friends and family. Coppolas on 378 3rd Ave. hit the mark on both accounts. Food was excellent, service made the night. It’s always interesting to watch how a restaurant works on a real busy night, but I have found over the years you see the soul of the restaurant on a slow night when most of the staff is taking a breather waiting for the upcoming rush. It was early and a slow period when we entered Coppolas. From the time we stepped inside and spoke with the manager to our final goodbye the staff made sure we had an exceptional experience. So special in fact we wanted to make sure we gave our wait staff special recognition. So thanks again Mario, Carlos , Cesar and Neri. Looking forward to visiting again. If we had a regret it was that we failed to thank the chef.

Right around the corner from our hotel we found one of the best Italian restaurants I have ever been in. Great food and service at a reasonable price. The sidewalk seating on a summer evening made that much better.

A delicious neighborhood mainstay. Try Capellini Coppola, skinny spaghetti light sauce. Toasted bread is excellent. Complimentary bruschetta. Gentle prices. You can talk and not go deaf.

The place does not look like much from the street, but is worth exploring. It is typical NYC, small, loud and busy, but soooo sooo good. My wife and I are both critical and never expect much anymore especially in NYC, but what a treat to find this gem. DO NOT MISS THIS PLACE.

I'm from NY and try to avoid the overpriced, touristy, midtown expense account restaurants. I look for places in residential areas and Coppolas is a good example of where the locals eat. The food is good and fairly priced. Wine list is decent and you can find a good bottle of reasonably priced red to go with your dinner. We were there on a Sunday evening. Service was attentive and not rushed. My wife had a salad and a pizza which was very good. our guest had the Mama's Rigatoni which he loved (by the way he is Italian and used to authentic home cooking). I had the Grilled Pork Chop and loved it. Desert was Molten Chocolate Lava cake and coffee followed by complimentary Limoncello. Now how often does that happen? Trendy…no! Noisy…no! Comfortable place to have a nice dinner and conversation. You'll slip into this place like an old pair of jeans!

The food here is amazing and the customer service is great. I was with two girlfriends and our server was phenomenal. The manager came over and asked how our meal was and later gave us a free dessert! The chef even came to our table to ask how the food was. Never been to a more attentive restaurant. Must go!

All of our food was excellent, particularly the pasta special, which had sausage, braised beef and a meatball with a tomato sauce, which is the a dish I will remember for a long time! Would definitely return.
Great Place
We enjoyed a family dinner here with family and were impressed with the generous portions, wonderful food and the wait staff could not have been better! We were all very happy with our choice of dinners and we shall return. Prices were reasonable for NYC.
